Episode Date: August 1, 2023Recording: June 20th 2023 | The bangers keep on coming. This week we welcome the boy Foster Moreau back to the pod, and it's safe to say Foster has had one of the craziest offseasons of all NFL Player...s. Hey guys, it's us
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called,
Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from.
some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Winning on Clay is an art.
The rallies are relentless,
and at the French Open,
only the toughest survive.
I'd know.
I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs,
on the Renee Stubbs' tennis podcast
for no-nonsense breakdowns
of the biggest matches,
the toughest players,
and the moments that define Roland Garros.
She's an outsider to win the French fame.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lennarabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now,
and I actually can win on any surface.
Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis Podcasts on the I-Hart Radio app.
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
You said don't start this again.
I'm saying for something to start, something has to be finished.
What got finished?
No, we know what's happened.
Like, in and out got body based on what we've seen on our podcast.
All I was doing was sharing the clip.
You're just putting more.
Share the clip.
It's just showing more shit about.
The body's dead.
And you're still like, you stick it a couple more times just in case he comes back.
No, I'm thinking like anytime something gets posted, it's like,
yeah, that's something I believe in.
That's something I'm with.
So she's like, I'm sharing.
It's like, oh, I'm sharing this.
It's like, if daily stoic, like, yeah, we all know and agree on certain things,
it's like, oh, yeah, I'm going to share this.
This is good.
It's like, oh, yeah, somebody's talking about in and out being trash or five guys being superior.
Not trash, because I don't think in and out trash.
It's not trash.
All good burgers, we're just talking about which ones better.
It's like, when I see a video of, like, five guys being superior,
I'm like, oh, yeah, this is something I identify with.
Something I identify with.
What a fun way.
What a fun way to start this episode, dude.
Episode 233?
234.
234.
234?
Or we just jumped up or am I just always off one?
233 was Tom.
Great, by the way.
By the way.
Yeah.
Very well received podcast, Tom Segura, dude.
I was fired up when he tweeted.
Yeah.
You sent a great voice message, by the way.
I was just like there's nothing to add.
I was thinking about doing a voice message just like farting or something.
Yeah.
But I was like, yeah, dude, that's.
Yeah, I was blown away.
Seguera and honestly, Chrysher,
just two dudes that have done so much for this show.
Yeah.
And we'll continue to ride those coattails.
And it sounds like, yo, I was like, it was a lot of fun.
It was a great time.
To see him throw it up on the old bird app, it was like, oh, wow, this is fucking cool.
Like Tom Seguer is like showing love to the boys.
They're saying like full episode with the link.
Like whether or not it's somebody doing a forum, I don't think it matters.
Yeah.
But Tom would have to sit there to whoever's running a social media and be like, hey, do you mind giving the boys some love?
Yeah.
Or maybe they show it to him like, hey, Tom, your episode's doing really well and bustle with the boys.
And he's like, yeah, say something.
Yeah, yeah.
You know?
But anyway, regardless.
Something we have to talk about each and every week, and it's very important to us is the Chevy Silverado.
Summer is here and what better way to take advantage of all it has to offer than with Chevy Silverado.
Silverado Summer, think of all the possibilities.
So from off-road adventures to DIY projects and hardcore work, Silverado has a capability and technology to make this summer your best one ever.
With nine different Silverado models to choose from, the engines that range from a powerful turbomax to the 6.2-liter V8 and the Duramax daisle, you can count on Chevy power and performance to give.
anything done.
Like many of you, we've been hitting the road a lot lately,
and it seems like everywhere we go,
there's an army of Silveradoes and Silverado owners.
So shout out to all of you.
Game recognized game.
Head over to shabby.com, dude.
Check out our, check out Silverado and all the Silverado trucks,
the official truck of busing with the boys.
Before we go any further into this podcast,
we got two very special guests.
Joey Singleton and his son, Sebastian,
have graced us with their presence.
If you see my tattoos,
if you ever appreciated my tattoos at all,
at all.
There's a 99% chance Joey has done those tattoos.
Let's give a round of applause to Joe right here.
Just being on the bus, man.
He's on the bus.
His son, I see him also working on a little bit of ink there in the corner.
That duster on the top of your lip brother looks fantastic.
You got the haircut from Boy Meets World looking like Sean.
He does look like Sean.
Yeah, dude.
And that's a compliment.
You've probably never seen that show, huh?
That's a 90s piece.
Mr. Fihihina.
Like, that's some shit right there, dog.
Handsome boy.
I don't know about that little flavor saver on the bottom, but, you know, hey.
life's all about choices.
Will's a big flavor saver guy.
He likes a little...
A little soul down there.
A little soul down there.
Something to speak to it.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Need God around it all times.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I do fucking love that.
But yeah, before this podcast started,
as it kind of got into everything,
you heard us talking about five guys in and out,
but the reason why that started is,
I have finally found a victory in the polls on Twitter.
And that was choosing to always be able to run a red,
light over having a parking spot the front parking spot wherever you go. So Jack, brother,
we did it. We did it. I'm proud of us. Me too. What an opportunity. And we'll have another
opportunity to do it. Would you rather this week on when the twisted question comes up,
Willie? What's up, dude? I didn't know we kept track of all the poll stuff. No, it's... You've won
before, by the way. Have I win? Yeah. I'm sure you've won before. That's nice of you to say,
but I really don't. Like, I really... The whole in and out thing like I talked about is really clouded
my judgment because it's been such a beat down.
I think, yeah, I think
your mental has been invaded
throughout this whole. It's hard not to.
How do you not question yourself?
When I'm saying, when my
answers or my opinion, you'll
like think to yourself, oh, you're just saying it because you know
everybody's going to, you're just playing
to everybody. I'm just thinking like,
I don't think it's like, it's not.
You're just more of a common man than I am, I guess.
More for the common people. I'm just like,
I knew the mistake. Whenever the poll went up,
when I'm thinking about it more, I was like, oh, people who
like are in it in the cities like it's that is a no-brander you want to run a red light the entire time
yeah because like like i truly feel like like i i don't i don't like change my answer or see it
another way which is wild to me because i feel like any opportunity you have to always run a red
light no matter what you're going to use that ability way more than you are finding the parking spot
because the only thing it really plays into is what we did last night at the nf concert that parking
spot would have played it up big handy there.
We'd have also saved
five to seven minutes getting there.
So it's also like
those outweigh in the big time situations
but on a day-to-day basis if we're going to run a red light
brother. But when we left the concert,
it's like if we had that front row spot
when I took you home and there's not really
like, it's not really like we're in a traffic
style situation. We get to
walk right out and get in the car. Yeah, I can see
this is not going to go a whole lot further.
Yeah, I mean, at the end of the day, the
the pole, the pole was in your
guys's favor. The polls in your guys' favor.
I'm looking forward to the next battle coming up and we hit the twisted question.
Well, how about last night, though?
Dude. Yeah, that concert, that NF concert was unreal.
Yeah. It was unreal. Shout out the boy NF, dude, hooking us up with Tickey's.
Like, that was...
In his wife, Bridgett, just knocking it out of the park.
Like, it was... Being, like, in Nashville, knowing that there's a lot of, like, probably
family, I didn't meet or get to know, like, the majority of the crowd because there's a lot of
people, but I know when you're doing the whole host thing and like there's a lot of tickets going
on like Bridget was like crushing it the entire time. Yeah. There's a lot going on. There's a lot of
moving parts. She kept her composure, especially the state that she was in. And it was her birthday either
yesterday or the day before. The day before. There was literally a lady. We're at the 1230 club and
there's like probably 20 people, including me, Will, and Bree. Mikey was already with Nate.
And we're like going down and trying to find our way to like downstairs green room area. And it was like,
it was kind of a shit show.
And Bridget,
kind of leading the whole thing,
did a phenomenal job.
There was literally a lady there
with a suitcase.
Like,
I felt like she had places to be.
And you're thinking like,
you could just leave that somewhere,
right?
And come back to the 1230 club
after the show.
But she was hell-bent
on taking that thing.
And it was,
it was impressive.
But I was blown away
by Nate
in the way his show went through.
The cinematography,
him coming out in all white,
singing a couple of songs.
And then there's like a minute-30 break
of some cool shit
playing on the stuff.
side before the search came on and he's pulling this car on the on the screen everyone's cheering because
I know what's coming and then it comes out in the all black and he you could just tell he has to be
in certain parts of the stage based on how the song is going and he's literally knocking it out of the
park yeah knocking you could just tell like how meticulous and he's just like a to the detail
runs it right like you see the art come to life not only in his music and lyrics and everything else
but the entire show yeah we obviously don't know the balloons being tied to the car like as that's
coming out. Like, no, it was fire, man. It's, he's, he's super impressive because he's, like, found a,
a way to essentially, like, talk to the mic as if it's a therapist and they're the only two
things, people in the room. Yeah. At all times. At all times. And I, I've only been put on
NF for, I don't know, three years, four years. Whenever I really met you is when you put me on
the search, that album. But you've been a fan for a long time. I'm watching when the opening of the show
happened. And it was showing the balloons and then the mansion. And then you've been telling me all
about these Easter eggs that he kind of puts in all of his songs. I was kind of like thinking,
I wonder what's all going on here. Because you could feel people getting hype and kind of
like, oh, there's that. And I'm like, damn, I wish I really knew. Because the dude's mind is
incredible. The way he's able to break that shit down, sing the way he does, keep a flow the way
he does, but also articulate his feelings in such a way that it's like, yo. Like, I don't know
what it is, but he has cornered the market on white athletes.
Like any white athlete you see, dude, they're like fucking NF, am I right?
And he's like, yeah.
Is that not true though?
That's hilarious.
Like every dude, like any piece of trauma you've ever had in your life, dude, if it's
been good, like parents, this, that, self-doubt, any of that stuff, you throw on
an NF song and you're like, this dude knows me essentially.
Right.
He speaks to like the soul of like the dark times, the down times.
It was nuts.
And the way to articulate all.
Because his albums, like all of his albums,
they're like albums that you can fully listen to from start to finish.
Start to finish.
And the recall back and forth between not only songs in albums,
but other songs from different albums back and forth.
It's like, it's truly incredible to watch.
As you see, like, the audience and everything else,
you can just tell, like, how much he just, he influences people.
Yeah.
How much he has influenced people.
Yes.
Like, I can't imagine, like, when Mama played.
Right.
I'm getting emotional.
watching them like, holy shit.
Like I'm like kind of choking up.
But there's a point of me
it's like these people who are sitting here
have been a fan of him for so long,
there's got to be, you know,
wet cheeks everywhere throughout this concert.
Yeah.
People have got to be like, it's wild.
It is just how he just
has really just consumed people
and how they're so influenced.
It's beautiful.
You can't imagine what that's like for him
in public when people recognize him.
Being able to like,
because there's so many times
people have been like this guy
saved my life.
Yeah.
And I'm sure people are like just feigning to meet this man and like just telling their story.
Right, right.
It feels like like Jelly Roll has a base like that as well.
Yeah, there's no question.
He was rock with Jelly for so long and you just have that influence everywhere you go.
Speaking of, we met Jelly, Jelly's daughter.
We did.
Yeah.
She FaceTime Jelly.
Jelly's sitting there.
Headphones on playing Call of Duty.
What's up, Baba.
How we doing?
Call of Duty.
Playing the game.
He was playing the game last night.
But dude, yeah, his daughter just came up.
He said, hey, what's up?
literally came over and introduced
such a sweet girl.
Yeah.
Such a sweet person, man.
So all in all.
Great show,
great concert.
You get his,
if you're a fan of NF,
you get a chance to go see him,
definitely go see him.
It's,
it's everything and more.
It is a theatrical event, man.
It is really,
really well done.
What do we got in the docket today?
What do we want to talk about, dude?
Massive interview coming today,
Foster Morrow.
He,
how do you say it,
Morrow or Morrow?
Foster Morrow.
Morrow.
I looked up my old video from last year
saying like it's Maro.
You know how he did the whole correction thing?
But it is Morrow.
Morrow is so much easier to say.
Morrow sounds cooler too.
Yeah, yeah, it does.
It does.
He's got a little French pizzazz on him being from Louisiana.
Yeah.
You know?
But Fosters is incredible.
Like he sat down with us, tells us, walks us through the entirety of going on the visit to
the Bengals, going on the visit to New Orleans, how he found the cancer, like, in his
collarbone, essentially.
Yeah.
Just on a routine.
Like, it's like, oh, the doctor's not even supposed to be, like, really just given that
routine.
It's just felt something.
He's like, oh, what is that?
But it walks us through step by step the entirety of his story and his journey with
beating officially Hodgkin's lymphoma, or it's fully in remission.
Whatever it is.
I think there's like, you have to go like five years, right, before you can say, like,
that's kind of like the stepping stone.
But at the end of this episode, he says, like, he has this exam or this scan in a couple
weeks. And I know that it was going, it was getting out there in the news. It was in the news a couple
weeks ago because he sent a photo of, of the conversation between him and that doctor. And it's just
like, hey, you're clear. He wanted that good news and he got the good news. But this is an insane.
This is an awesome podcast. This is an awesome conversation that everybody is going to love.
Like, it was solid. It was good. Do you want to hit a shout out, no free shout up?
We'd love to. Pet peeve. Pet peeve.
Well, we did tear talk in in that episode.
Oh, that's right.
We did.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Best phone games.
Yeah.
Best phone games.
Best iPhone games.
Yeah.
We get to take a trip down memory land on the iPhone games.
All right.
Let's talk about a little pet peeve, right?
Let's talk a little pet peeve or let's do, what do we want to do first boy?
Shout out pet peeve or twist a question of the week.
We can go pet peeve.
I don't do, yeah.
I don't get negative first.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's start with the, let's start with the negativity first.
Let's get some shit off.
I'm very ready
because it happened to me today.
I'm ready.
Okay.
You guys don't mind.
I'd like to take the mic in this.
Go ahead.
My pet peeve of the week
is going to go to the palms up.
Specifically,
when you're going,
when you're driving
and you're pulling out of a parking spot
and someone is like
rushing to get somewhere
and they want to stop
and then you're kind of going
and then they kind of look at you
and it's always an old white lady.
It's always an old white lady.
And this old white lady.
lady, I was trying to take a left
and she was trying to go and then for whatever reason
she didn't just keep going. I was literally giving her the right away
and she hit me with this. I'm thinking
how is that fucking productive?
But I kept my composure
and I'm like, hey, I kind of gave
her this and she's like, then she
fucking moved the hand over to this hand
like they're supporting each other and then back over like, what are
you doing? And I just thought
dude, you got to fucking kept my
composure. But get your wrinkly
ass down the fucking road for a second
because I'm about to
just T-bonia real quick and maybe do a hit and run.
I didn't because we kept composure, but still,
Pat Pee for the week is going to have to go to the palms up situation.
Oh, I love that.
I do like that.
I had a little sticky situation myself last week, and it wasn't an old white lady.
It was a gentleman.
Older gentleman?
No.
Somebody like R.
Somebody R.
It seemed like a young professional.
He was driving a decent little vehicle.
But just one of those dudes that you just know, like, they think their shit doesn't
stink like they can kind of fucking do whatever.
We were in the race.
and Cain's line.
And you know how you,
have you been to the one off Whitebridge yet?
I have not.
So you'll go similar to like,
Chick-fil-A has these lines sometimes,
but you know how they have like the double driveway,
but then it goes into one lane,
and then you kind of like catty corner
and know who's in front of you, who's not, you go in.
Well, this douchebag
thought it was his turn.
He was literally following the same person in his lane.
And I'm sitting there,
and I start to slowly pull up like, hey, we both know.
Like, you know you're aware, right?
Like, you're not a fucking idiot.
Sure enough.
he is an idiot. He starts pulling him.
We both kind of come to a stop.
And he looks over. He's like, he just does one of these.
He's just like throws up his hands like this.
And so I sat there.
I rolled down my passenger window because we're close.
I rolled down my passenger window.
Oh my God.
And I go, hey, buddy. I go, do you want to go that badly?
And he was like, oh, yeah, sure.
And I go, go ahead, man.
And he rolled up his window.
And I'm just fucking steaming, bro.
But I could have.
Like, that was a moment where I feel like to myself, like,
I look he wanted to get out and fight this motherfuckers-ass out of the car.
And that usually never happens.
Sometimes you get a little bit of that you really reel at him, like when a situation could get real.
And it's like, oh, am I going to actually roll down my window here and fucking say something?
Usually you just like get mad in your car and just kind of like keep it moving.
But when that happened, because I'm literally thinking to myself like, yo, it is my turn to go.
And when he threw up his fucking hands looking like the doucheback that he looked like,
I just roll it down because I'm like, there's no way in hell like he's going to muster up and like say anything kind of.
back. I'll say, hey, brother, you want to go that badly? Go ahead. And then he just kind of like
rolls up his window and just goes. Two things. You taking the time, like consciously, you have to
not only, like, you have to find, you're not going to do this and find your, you're going to look away
and then press your window down. That's not one of those things you're like, just put it down
and you're keeping eye contact the whole time to keep the anger. You break the eyes, you can kind of
gather yourself. You look the way, kept the anger, and then put the fucking window down, and then
went back to him with the same fucking energy.
I will say that's heavy, but I think
the way you explained to me, which you could have
been like, hey, fucker, like you could have
been like that. It was not like that at all. It was not
like that at all. History is written by the victors.
So you were in a situation.
But the way you just explained to me,
Bravo, because you probably made him feel like
the douche that he is. Yes, that was kind of the thing.
It's like he could have continued to keep going or whatever
because I stopped. And then he kind of
looked over and through his hands up.
And to me in my mind, like as I'm playing a back,
when he throws the hands up
and then it's like a Chevy.
Like you see somebody in truck.
You're kind of like a little bit more
like, let's see who's inside first.
Right.
And then as the window starts getting rolled down,
you're kind of like, oh shit.
Like, because I've been in those situations
where you're like, all right,
I don't know if I'm gonna,
who knows what's inside there?
The windows are a little tinted.
Yeah.
Who knows what's inside there?
Yeah.
But the context is like, I was just going.
I was like, hey, we haven't had the new Raising Cains yet
down the road.
I was like, you want me to go get something?
It's kind of just like a midday,
like, I'm gonna go grab some.
You want something?
Yeah, midday treats.
So I'm just kind of like, it's one of those things where he's just, like,
leave the house and you're just driving down the road.
So I was in, like, a patient mood.
But when I saw the hands come up, I was like, all right.
It was like, lean down.
And I look over and he starts to, like, press it down to where it comes down and go,
hey, man, you want to go that badly?
Go ahead.
Dog, in the way, you did the eyes up?
Like, he's looking up a year.
You're in a truck.
I'm assuming he's in a car.
Yeah, yeah.
It's a four door, and I think it was white.
It was a white car.
It was a white car.
SUV-ish, but a little bit lower. It's sitting lower.
And it was a white car, wasn't it?
Yes, it was a white car.
And I was...
I haven't heard of the story before, but you know it's a white car.
And I was hoping that I got my Raisin Cains faster so that way I could get up and meet him
and go next to him at the light.
I was hoping that, but he ended up getting out.
You ended up getting away?
Yeah.
And the thing, too, dude, is it not...
Because I saw him check back a couple times, like in the mirror.
I saw the exchange at the window and I knew that he's like, is your name Will?
Because they got the tickets, like, they're in order.
And I see him switch the ticket.
But I felt like I felt like I...
I saw him looking back in his mirror
and every time
I was trying to do like a laughing thing.
Like I'm like smiling, laughing.
Like doing one of these.
Like I'm waiting to look behind him
and laughing his fucking face.
Dude, here's the thing about lines.
And those two to ones,
they can seem a little bit difficult,
but common sense.
If ants can do it,
you can fucking do it.
They find themselves in a line
all the fucking time, right?
Nice analogy.
They're all over the place
and all of a sudden,
they just merge perfectly.
If the car in front of you just went,
that next car on the left side
is now going to go, then buddy, your turn.
Yeah.
That's how it fucking works.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
The stop sign thing, too.
When you fucking meet at a stop sign,
that shit is, and then you do the whole,
and it's like, dude,
are you fucking kidding me?
There's rules.
We have to get a learners permit.
We fucking, you gotta do the computer.
I failed to test three times.
So I know most of the fucking questions now.
If you pull up, dude,
if you fucking pull up and the person is
to your right and you get there at the same time,
the person to your right has the right of way.
Know that.
Take that forever.
Really?
Yes, that is a gift.
That is a gift.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I think I don't know that.
I play by straight.
You see me in the streets.
Who's time?
I know the rules of the road, brother.
I'm letting you know.
I'm researching.
I have double checked this.
If you go at the same time,
if I'm going this way and you're going this way
and we go stop sign together.
A four way stop sign.
Four way stop sign.
And we go, boom.
Our wheels stop at the same time.
Brother, you have the right away.
you have the right away.
And then you go and then I fucking go.
Now, do not be the guy that goes,
guy goes through a stop sign and then you think it's a green light.
And then you try to just tail the guy.
That fucks up everything.
That's a whole different dimension.
Like that's a whole Twilight Zone.
I don't feel like getting into right now.
But there are some times you can get steamy at a stop sign.
You see me at a stop sign?
You better know.
You better know.
I'm following the rules and you better, you should too.
Just know.
I think the four-way stop sign is a,
is a fun game to get involved in.
Depends on the mood.
Because I think...
You see I'm sweating a little bit right now.
I'm a little fired down.
I can tell you're hot.
But I feel like anybody,
when you pull up to a stop sign
and you see somebody else doing it,
like your awareness does go up
on trying to figure out who stops first or not.
If I feel like I'm coming to a complete stop,
I will like,
I will like come to a full complete stop
so you see my tire stop.
If I see you're barely still rolling
and then you like have a slight stop right after,
I'm going to hit on the gas and I'm going to go.
You know what I mean?
Because I feel like nobody's ever getting there
at the exact same time.
Yeah, but somebody does a rolling stop,
then I know I'm already stopped.
But if I see your tires go slightly a little bit more,
and I feel like...
It rotates like that.
Just like, yeah, if it feels like like like that,
and I already know I'm at a stop.
From noon to a 1 o'clock.
I just decide I'm hitting on the gas.
See, I don't see anything wrong with that.
And then as it comes out,
if you kind of do the stop,
I continue to just go to see kind of...
Because I feel like...
That's an alpha dog move.
I feel like you will feel
if somebody's pulling out faster
than you are to where you would kind of stop.
I don't know.
I feel like it's a fun game
to get involved in. Like, okay, hey, we're all here. Like, let's, let's see who can figure this out.
I don't know. That's just what I kind of ask in my head. I do one more. Yeah, yeah, it sounds like
we're going to, because right now, it sounds like we have a joint pet peeve of the week.
Joint pet peeve and also joint shoutout. Like, when you go, when the two to one goes perfectly
or goes well, goes accordingly, like the ants, then that's a shout out. Like the ants. It's a
shoutout. You love to see a good system get executed. I have a drip of sweat going down my cap right now.
just like if somebody plays the four-way stop game correctly.
Yeah.
That's like a shout-out.
You know when somebody gives you the,
if you kind of don't know in some good Samaritan's just doing this
before you get a chance to do that,
you're just like, okay, cool, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Or sometimes you come right after them,
and you're kind of waiting on them,
and they're kind of just like, okay, I mean.
Yeah, that is one of the short of the shoulders,
I guess.
Yeah, yeah.
You know what you're giving up right now.
Yes.
Time, you can never get back.
Yeah.
You know, which brings me back to the red light,
you should always.
But for real, like, that's the thing.
Here's another thing that pisses me the fuck off, dude.
You got three veins coming out.
Do I?
Yeah, one from your eye, two from your neck.
Yeah, two from your neck.
I'm hot.
That little boy, I don't know what he's doing, but yeah.
If there are two lanes, and it's hard for me to, like, verbally say this,
but like two lanes on one side of the road, a little median area, like a media you can kind of get past,
like yellow lines, and then two more lanes.
So you're, that's five lanes total, but one lane is just for like transfer in and out.
We're going left and right.
You're talking about the two yellow where you get in to turn like into parking lots.
Yeah, like if you're going, if you're in Green Hills area.
Yeah.
And you're driving towards the highway.
There's going to be two lanes.
There's going to be a yellow strip of road for the turnoff.
So people want to turn left or right.
And then there's two more lanes.
Okay.
This happened today also.
So it's been a tough day in the vehicle for me.
This motherfucker.
This shit, dude.
Been a tough day out of the church.
Been a tough day to remain patient in a vehicle for Taylor.
Yeah.
Yeah.
God damn it.
But I kept my composer the whole time.
You can lose your patience, but still goes back to a three-year-old terrorist.
You got to fucking have the patience.
And I did.
I didn't, no one died today.
No one died today.
Wow.
Church guy, guy from church, guy in a vehicle leaving the church parking lot,
pulls through the two lanes into that yellow lane.
Now, I'm on the far right lane.
And I got to turn off on Woodmont because I'm going to do rehab, knee rehab.
This guy goes left lane, sees an opening, and then cuts me off.
He's got plenty of room.
So he's already going this way.
And he fucking, I'm here.
He goes here.
Like, I'm here.
And he's turning.
And then he goes, bink.
That's one lane.
And then he binks again.
So he came from the other side of the road.
He didn't like,
he didn't like come behind you and then use the yellow lane to get around you and then
come over.
And it's like he's got room.
He's got room.
He goes yellow lane.
Other lane.
So now he's officially driving that way.
Then right lane.
Right in front of me.
I have to press the.
the brakes. I've got to press the brakes when I didn't need to be in that situation.
I get mad. I think this guy must really fucking want to also turn on Woodmont.
He kept going straight.
Oh.
Dog.
I was going to say, if you want to turn really bad, listen, I've been, I've done that too.
I've been there.
I've been there.
I've been there.
And you kind of give me a wave like, oh, fuck, don't be a killer.
I hope to God.
We're good here.
And then you turn off on the road.
He didn't turn.
He just went straight.
Ah, yeah.
And it's like, what are we doing?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
You're talking about him merging?
See, this is where it's not necessarily emerged
because he was already in the two lanes
that were going south, north.
He was going north.
And he was in the lane to my left,
and I'm in the lane, the farthest lane to the right,
both going the same direction.
And he cuts me off
and then continues to go straight through the light
when I had to turn right through the light.
Like he could have just stayed in the farthest left lane.
The fast lane.
Because Taylor's thinking like if he turns here,
then that's more of a,
he took a nice chance.
paid off.
He's maneuvering to get all the way over.
He's thinking to himself when he's coming out of the church,
man, this is a fucking hard situation to be in.
I'm going to now pull out in traffic.
I'm going to use this middle lane.
And then hopefully I'll finesse over to that right lane
so I can make that right turn.
That would have been high-level fucking driving.
And fortunately, nobody, like, got hurt.
Taylor's saying he could have stayed in that first lane
versus getting over in front of Taylor
because he was just going straight to begin with,
which I get that rage right there.
Okay.
I do get that.
In his spot, it's like once you pull out
and you're trying to use that middle lane,
it's almost like, okay, I'm going to decide
right after these cars pull out,
I'm fucking making my decision.
Then you're kind of in fight or flight
being like, I'm hoping I guess right here.
Please God engine work.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I get it.
I see that.
Somebody that pulls in fronty
and you got to abruptly put on your brake
and it didn't need to happen.
You're not going at speed yet.
You're not going the speed limit at all.
You're going below the speed limit.
And that shit's fucking annoying.
So I'm glad we got to work through that,
dude.
Thank you for the therapy session.
Whoa, right?
Should we hit an ad?
Before we do twisted question of the week,
which I'm excited to hear what Jack has to say.
Do we need to do our shoutout, no free shoutout?
I think you just said we have a joint shoutout,
no free shout out with the merging of the ants.
Okay.
I have another shout out in my back pocket if we need to do that as well.
No, I'm solid if that's what you want to do.
I mean, I didn't really actually say my pet peeve,
but we can move on to an ad.
No, we also said we had a joint pet peeve.
Yeah.
Go ahead, buddy.
This is our podcast.
I was just fucking around.
I was trying to have some fun.
Dog shitting in the house.
That was going to be mine, but go ahead. Let's do.
Hey, that is fucking enormous. I'll save that. I'll save that one.
Well, you just used it.
Yeah, but we can elaborate a little bit more.
I'm not going to talk about how I beat my dog right now.
We can do that another week.
No question.
No question.
Are we reading the Twisted Tea boy?
Twisted tea is a refreshing hard iced tea made with real brood tea with 5% alcohol.
It tastes like real iced tea because it is made with real brewed tea.
Real brewed tea with a kick.
That's 5% ABV.
Full of flavor and very refreshing.
Goes down smooth.
There is no carbonation, which makes it easy to drink.
all day long. Twisted tea feels fun and celebrates extreme fandom on game day.
Twisted tea is a perfect alcohol beverage for game day, whether tailgating in a parking lot,
watching at a bar, or watching with friends at home.
Twisted tea is there to turn up your game day. Keep it twisted. That is from the twisted
kings. Grab a refreshing twisted tea today.
So are we going to, do you want to do you want to do a shout out? You want to go right to the
twisted question of the day? Do we know the twist of the day? Do we know the twist the question
of the day is?
Jack is putting together another
would you rather for us?
Ooh.
So you have one.
You have one.
Can you give me a rating?
Like if this was a movie,
what rating would this question be?
Um,
solid seven and a half.
That's,
maybe eight.
Is it P.
Is it PG 13?
Oh,
no,
it's PG.
Got you.
Gotcha.
I was confused.
I thought we were playing
the 4.5 game.
I see what you were saying.
All of us on different wave lakes.
It doesn't involve.
Give it a rating.
I'm thinking he's going to say,
this is good. This is for all audiences.
Like, not anything too down your throat, but also a little bit of fun.
Overall, I'd say 4.5.
I would have liked that as well. I would have accepted that answer.
Yeah.
Okay. So would you rather, would you rather be forced to listen to the same 10 songs on repeat for the rest of your life
or be forced to watch the same five movies on repeat for the rest of your life?
Easy. Same. Easy.
All right. Then we won't do that. We'll do another one.
Hold on.
Hold on.
If you want to, Jack, count us down and then we say songs or movies?
Yeah.
All right.
Songs or movies, just one word.
Yeah.
Songs or movies.
Songs or movies.
That's it.
Jack count us down from 14.
14, 13, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6.
Make her break our friendship.
No doubt.
No doubt.
four, three, two, one.
Songs.
Yes, dude, let's go.
Yes.
I knew you'd come through.
I fucking knew you come through.
That's an easy pick, right?
I think so.
Yeah.
I think that's like a pole of like 95 to 5.
If you were, if that's in the bird.
You disagree, Mitch?
Uh-oh.
I'm only saying...
I don't have any headphones that fit him.
These ones fit, actually.
I'm saying movies just because they take longer.
And like, you're not...
That's a bad reason.
That is a terrible reason.
You're gonna get...
You're gonna get...
You're gonna get...
You're gonna get...
You're gonna get...
For the first three months, you're solid.
And that is a long time.
First three months you're solid, but after a while, it's like,
hey, do you see that new movie, Oppenheimer came out?
You want to go see it?
Sorry, I can't.
Hey, did you hear that new song that just came out?
Oh, I can't.
Mitch, Mitch, Mitch, you're...
I bet it's a banger.
I bet Oppenheimer's a bangers, too.
You're never surrounded by, uh, opinions of just music all the time.
Everybody comes in.
Hey, did you see this?
got to go watch this, you got to go watch that. If you're stuck to the same five movies for the
rest of your life, you're in hell. Brother, if you go and you pick five movies and it's not one of
those big, you can quote all the time movies, you're missing on a big friendship demographic of
guys that just like to sit around and quote wedding crashes. Let's say that's not in your top
five. Well, you're going to miss out in a lot of solid fun conversations with the boys.
It was a painting, Todd. I'm taking it with me. You wouldn't understand that reference because that's
top, it's not your top five movies, right? Songs. It's songs, brother. It is song. It is
songs, man.
It's like...
Songs are huge.
Okay.
So, okay.
So,
I might only listen
to 10, period.
So the way I looked at
is like, all right,
if I had to pick five movies,
you guys are looking at it,
like, I can watch all the movies I want
and just listen,
I'll just listen to these songs,
whatever.
Yeah, if I get in the car,
like,
there can easily be a playlist.
I was thinking about it.
You're two motivational videos.
Like, there's a whole lot of things.
In a different,
different light.
And if you really want to fit in that bad,
find a podcast that talks about new music
and why it's good.
And then you can literally just
take those opinions,
put them in your brain and spit them out as if they're in your own opinions.
And then no one will ever know.
Now, the same thing can be said for movies.
However, a cinematic performance is sitting down with your friends like the other night.
When we were bang the fuck up, we put Brave Little Toaster on.
Brave Little Toaster is not going to be in your top five.
No.
Right?
It's not going to be in mine either.
Like anything.
Like you're going to see a moment of time, right?
Like say the 20, was it the 2021, three and nine Cornhuskers,
greatest three-win team of all time?
Like there might be a movie made on that one.
day. And then you're going to want to watch it, but you can't because you're only stuck to
five movies. Documentaries, do those kind of movies? Are we putting movies as timeline? Like,
how long they are? But they'll be, like, that would be something that's actually made
it to a movie. I got you, brother. I'm glad you got that done. Say like, there's a massive moment.
And then decades later, you're like, oh, this is coming out of his movie. You'd love to see it,
but you can't because you already got, you already passed in your list. Mitch, did you have anything
you wanted to say to the group? I'm at, like, because when you were just talking about that then,
like what could you live without?
Like you can't
Like you go to a bar
You're not gonna be able to listen to any of the music
That's going on
You can't stay there
Like you go out
You can't listen to any of the music
That they're playing
Like you can't really
Enjoy any of that
Gosh I hate this for you bro
Now you're almost just doing a short-sighted view
You're in your fucking 20s at the moment
No
You're just gonna plan on going at the bar
And you're 20s
You're not in my 20s
But I'm not giving a short-sight of view of it
Not to take up for Mitch,
but you guys did start the first 20 minutes
this podcast talking about a concert
that y'all loved.
Yeah, it was a great concert.
Trust me.
You guys wouldn't be able to know.
There would be several NF songs on that 10-song playlist.
NF is making your top 10 multiple songs?
There'd be a couple of NF songs
that make my top 10.
Okay.
Yeah.
I'm still on movies.
Just to...
And even right now, like, my adult life right now,
I essentially just click on my liked songs
and I just wear them out.
Yeah.
Until I'm like, oh, I should,
just probably add this one. I'm like, oh, I forgot about that song type of thing.
Like, to me, it's like I can, I can kind of not do without music, but essentially do without music.
Will would have Zizi Top.
Maroon 5 would be on, I guarantee a Maroon 5 song would be on there.
Especially, yeah.
Yeah.
You need that song, you can just sing.
I'm trying to think one of their bands.
You're not a big music guy anyway.
No, not like that.
Not like, no.
Yeah.
That matter to me.
Like somebody else can have the awks.
And then if it's like something I don't like, I can just.
you know, make fun or chirp or whatever.
Yeah.
I love music.
I truly do.
But it doesn't stray me away from saying,
I've taken movies,
watching movies over same 10.
I'm choosing to do the same 10 songs.
I don't want to get fucking,
get put in a blender here.
Yeah, I think this was a very fairly simple
twist of question that lasted however long it fucking lasted.
If anything, we'd like to apologize
to our listeners right now.
We can do another one.
I really enjoy this.
This one, I'm sure you've been asked before.
but would you rather...
What rate it from me?
In terms of G to R or...
Rate it.
Rate it.
4.5, for sure.
I don't have much on this one.
I didn't fucking like that answer, Jack.
I know y'all didn't.
What's the question?
And you know why.
I know.
What's the question?
There wasn't a lot of detail in it.
The question, though, is one I feel like
has been asked at all the lunchroom tables.
Would you rather be able to fly or be invisible?
How fast can you fly?
Let's say the speed of an airplane.
Like you're not going from like here to the other side of the world in a few seconds
Not jumping not jumping no but is there a gas thing on you you can just fly kind of wherever
I think yeah there's no gas
Maybe you just fly as long as you want
What are we doing with the situation of the government
Let's just say you can fly
I'm just saying you see a guy fucking ripped into the air
You're gonna call the police
Let's just imagine it's legal and there's no problem
You can not gonna get an accident
This one is more difficult Jack Kenis down from 15
timeout.
That's tough.
It's like, can we start leveraging our flying ability to be superheroes?
No question.
You can do what I mean?
Like in the public eye.
That's what I'm saying.
If we get to, you know, leverage it that way.
Yeah, what kind of plane are we talking about?
We're talking about like a small excess snow 182?
Or are we talking about a fighter jet?
Yeah, like you're flying fast.
You're not just cruising.
Yeah, fighter jet.
And no gas tank.
Something to think about.
You ready?
I'm ready.
Jack?
from 15.
You want 15?
What you want?
Like seven and a half?
Seven and a half.
Seven and a half.
Seven.
Six.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Fly.
Anybody say different?
I didn't think so, Mitch.
Being invisible would be fucking cool.
I'd like there are a lot of perks of being invisible.
Yeah.
Huge.
And flying is very convenient.
Invisibility, you can.
really do whatever you want in life.
You can go rob a bank today and no one would know you could.
But also, I think that's a slippery slope.
Not robbing a bank, but the minute you're able to become invisible,
sometimes you're going to be in those situations and be like,
I wonder if I leave this room if anybody's going to say anything.
Then you'll want to be invisible and hear what people say,
and maybe you don't want to hear what they're going to say.
Yeah, that's going to hurt.
Then you open yourself up the vulnerabilities that might lead to that bank robbery.
It might lead to all these things where you're just isolated
and you just fucking like hate life, right?
Yeah, like, I feel like you just,
You go off, go on.
Hey, Jack's out of your...
It's like, the movie, Mystery, man,
where you can only be invisible when no one looks?
Yo, that's a little fucking,
and then you're kind of like, oh, damn,
do these people really fuck with me?
And then I just feel like you go off
on this lone wolf mission one day
to ultimately, like, die alone.
I feel like invisibility is kind of bad for the mentals.
Yeah.
You're going to be just thinking about what they're...
It's close to, like, hearing the way people think about you,
having the super power to, like, hear what they say.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Very valid.
I'd probably take false.
Yeah, because I was thinking about invisible.
I was like, man, it would be cool.
It'd be dope as fuck.
It was a harder question than the first question in my opinion.
Get anywhere, leave anywhere at any point, but it's also like, oh, you could be invisible
and, like, be in rooms of, like, hearing things that you might not want to hear.
Fair, fair.
Fair.
That's good.
Aliens are officially good.
Like, we officially know aliens are real.
Like, what else is there to know?
All the other conspiracy theories that are out there?
Bigfoot.
Denver Airport.
9-11.
you said it, not me?
JFK, flat earth.
Right.
Mars people.
Lizard people.
I mean, you could be a part of all those conversations as well.
When you acquired that information.
What are you going to do with it?
Right.
Guys, I know.
And then you're just a crazy conspiracy theorist in Dallas.
And no one's going to believe you.
Telling everybody, hey, JFK was actually killed by the mafia.
Until you have somebody hold a camera and you literally just, boom, be invisible on them
and then explain your contacts.
And then it's up for, left up for interpretation of people being like,
is that real or not?
It's like, we'll come find out Friday, 10 bucks a pop.
We're going to be selling out Nissan Stadium.
You can see me go invisible there.
That's a great fucking point, brother.
I mean, that's fucking...
Then you get to prove you're an invisible cat.
Like, this is what I'm hearing.
Yeah.
You know you're going to be assassinated in 15 days.
No question.
You're right.
You're right.
And it'll be less than that.
I'm just thinking maybe my boy can get away for a little bit because they'll get invisible.
Do you want people to know that you're in, you can go invisible?
I would sleep invisible because sometimes I get scared at night.
I'm thinking if they can't see me.
You know?
Like, have you guys seen the movie missing?
History Men. Dog, that's a solid movie.
And Stiller's in it, it's like these like makeshift heroes.
And one guy is a black dude, he's like, he can only become invisible if no one's looking.
That is funny.
And the shit's funny.
It's a decent little movie, dude.
One guy, like, throws objects and he can stick it in anything, but he decides to use spoons instead of knives and forks.
It's a fucking deal.
It's a funny movie.
That movie gave me nightmares with a kid.
I like that one, Jack.
Does anybody go invisible overflying?
Joe?
Microphone.
Make sure I put it up to your lips this time.
I feel like if I could go invisible, I wouldn't have to care what anybody thought.
I would just have it in this conversation with you and be like, I don't like this.
Yeah, but you're still there.
Yeah, but I'm not really because you can't see me.
I guess.
Especially if you don't know someone can go invisible, you'd be busy all the time.
People would be wanting to hire you all the time.
You'd be working all the time.
You're also assassinated, dude.
The minute people find out.
Maybe.
flying I think is so dope.
If I have no gas tank, I'll be like...
If I can go invisible, I can operate in a way that keeps anyone from knowing I can go invisible.
If I can fly, I'm super visible.
Unless you get up there.
Yeah.
But then they just shoot me.
True.
But you're as fast as a fighter jet too, and you're fucking...
I don't know.
Yeah.
All right.
We get ahead and add and basically get into this episode?
Yeah, get into the episode.
All right, ladies of gentlemen, before we start this episode, we're going to talk to you about Duke Cannon.
We like that.
talk to you about your shower game for a minute. Here's a fact. The body wash you're using
right now is weak water down and probably smells like a JV locker room. Simply put, it's not getting
the job done. The boys need a shower of substance after a hard day's work. And that's why
we use thick, high viscosity body wash from Duke Cannon. Thicker is better. Duke Cannon's thick
body wash is built to work hard and not spew down the drain. All of our sense are amazing.
But my personal favorite is midnight swim. It smells like a cannonball into a moonlit lake,
not a dip in the hot tub at a starlit motel.
Obviously, as always,
a big proponent of the dry ice.
Can't get enough of this stuff,
especially in the summer heat, man.
It is getting hot, especially this weekend.
Did you see that it's like 98 degrees this weekend
in Nashville Tennessee?
We might die.
You have to try Duke Cannon.
So for a limited time,
we're hooking the boys up with a 20% off
your first order at Duke Cannon.com,
dukeannon.com with code the Boys 20.
That's 20% off when you use code
the Boys 20 at Duke Cannon.com.
Duke Cannon, work harder, smell better.
The only company we've ever bullied into
stop using their one phrase into a new phrase.
I love that.
With that being said, Will's already broken down
the Foster Moreau episode.
Phenomenal, dude.
It's an emotional episode.
It's a lot of fun.
I don't think he's done a lot of speaking on this subject.
It's going to be really enlightening for a lot of people.
Yeah, no.
It'll be awesome.
Yeah.
With that said...
Did you tear up in that one?
Or was it just me?
I teared up when you teared up.
Nothing like seeing your...
best friend. I know. I know. It's always a tough.
Yeah. But in that moment, I had to be
strong for you. I did. I was so
thrown off by it. I do had a moment ago, are you good?
Dog, I know. Trust me. I was in the same kind of like headspace. It was like this weird
mix of whatever it was. It was just happening.
Fun intro today, boys. I really enjoyed the Would You Rather?
I think we should keep that thing going unless somebody
in the comments wants to tell us something otherwise. With that being said,
please enjoy this episode. Big hugs. Tiny
kisses.
Let us know when we're, uh,
Get it close to your mouth.
You know how this works now.
You see what he's wearing?
You see the wrist?
I saw the wrist.
The thing is nice.
You talking to the mic?
JP, you got him?
Is that good enough?
Test one, two, one, two.
Foster had a question for us.
I did.
Well, it was actually a question for Will, but I'll put you both on the spot.
What's the first letter in hors d'oeuvres?
Hey.
That's what I was going to guess, too.
You're going to guess A?
Okay, hang on.
That was a joke.
I'm glad you...
Yeah, I'm glad you...
Yeah, yeah, very good, very good, very good.
So, the real answer.
Oh, hang on.
hors d'oe...
E.
No, it's an H.
Fuck, I'm pretty sure it's an H.
Spell it.
Orduv's?
I'm pretty sure it's...
I think it's also...
It's not one word.
I'm pretty sure it's like separate words.
Yeah.
Or...
Or...
Or...
Yeah, like H-O-R-M-...
maybe D-E...
...
dash, DE, and then, uh, horser, yeah, something.
I'll tell you what, JP had you nervous for a second on the, yeah, nice.
I don't know if it is an age.
Nice.
Small items served before dinner.
That's, uh, appetizers.
Yeah, starters, starters, if you will.
Tapa's singles.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That one starts in a day.
Yeah, I like that.
I like that.
I can spell too.
Right here.
Go ahead.
Gorgeous.
It's not going to block.
Oh, no, you're perfect.
You're great.
Well, I got a couple cameras over here now.
Yeah, well, you got a few.
Yeah, it's good.
No, it's good.
I got that one standalone boy right there.
Which one?
Over there?
Yeah.
And then if you want to look directly at a camera,
it'd be up on that one right there.
Awesome.
If you want to make like a public statement.
Last time you guys did a pod together, I wasn't on it.
You were bringing that up, but you brought that up.
I didn't you.
What was the thing that came up?
That was like a controversial thing with something about a knight's tale?
Yes.
Yeah.
So he asked me what the top.
three sports movies were.
And my brain shut off for a quick second.
Yeah.
So I had to just bring it back and think about something that I could tell a story about,
maybe just kind of like reset the mood and the tempo.
What I wound up doing was going with a knight's tail,
which famously does have jousting in it.
Yeah.
Which...
It has more than just jousting.
Well, yeah.
Hand-to-hand combat has sword fighting too.
Yeah.
Love-making, I'm sure.
I haven't seen it in a long time.
It's a sport.
You want to see some good love-making.
To some.
Who's the guy?
Who's the guy in the movie?
Pete Leisure.
There's one movie he does when he's a cowboy.
There's some pretty good scenes in there.
I don't know if I've seen that one.
Taylor's Topps.
Yeah, it's top three.
Yeah, yeah.
Those romantic movies.
Of all time.
Yeah, and there's no question.
No question.
You just see the passion.
God bless those horses.
God bless those horses.
I don't know if you had to look it up for us.
Was sports movies your favorite genre?
Thanks.
No, I knew what it was.
Thanks.
Are sports movies your favorite genres?
Uh,
Maybe not necessarily.
I like action.
Yeah.
I think.
Yeah.
What's like your go-to action?
Boy, anything with Denzel in it?
Yeah.
Denzel over Will Smith as far as
best black actor?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, that's the argument in the lock.
Yeah, no, that was a,
who would you take more?
Who would you take?
I don't even know if that's,
I don't even know if that's, those two are necessarily.
I think Denzel's definitely on there.
I don't know if, I don't know if Will's on there.
Really?
I feel like Will's got better range than Denzel.
Really?
I mean, think of Denzel's kind of, okay, all right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, every single movie.
Yeah.
Will, he can do.
Are you saying that Denzel Washington plays himself in every month?
No, but I'm, similarly to The Rock and, you know, guys like that.
Ryan Reynolds.
Exactly.
Ryan Reynolds.
It's fun.
Until very recently.
It's a detective.
He did a true detective.
He did, uh, cell block 99.
and then there was one other movie he did.
Jurassic Park or the Lost World.
Oh, he's in that too, huh?
The Lost World. It's a new one.
It's also in Rudy, right?
Okay.
Yeah.
But I think Will Smith has more range as far as like when you can dip into,
he can dip into comedy.
He definitely dips into comedy, but I don't,
I don't know if he's dipped into comedy for necessarily, like,
movies.
I mean, he was obviously famous in the Fresh Prince, right?
Sharktail.
It's hilarious.
Oh, yes.
No, Sharktail.
Shark tale.
Suicide squad's a bit of a con.
I mean, Hitch is a great movie.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah, I can't see Denzel doing a rom-com.
No.
It's not his style, man.
No.
Equalizer.
He fucking is the equalizer.
God, he's a great man.
Who do you prefer?
Who do you get on the list?
Who do I prefer to watch?
I prefer to watch Denzel.
If I'm saying who has a better, maybe has more of an arsenal as an actor,
I would probably go Will Smith over Denzel.
Bigger bag?
Yeah, he's got a bigger bag.
Yeah.
He's got a bigger bag.
And Zell's got sharper tools.
I mean, look at these.
I mean, look at these.
The Equalizer, right?
Did you see Flight?
Phenomenal movie.
Obviously, obviously Training Day.
American Gangster.
Absolutely.
I wasn't a big fan of American Gangster.
I thought there was a lot of meat left on the bone in that movie.
I don't think I was crazy about the Book of Eli.
I watched it.
I watched it twice and I was like, I was just a little, I started a little confused and I stayed a little confused.
That's why you're an atheist?
No, no, not at all.
I love Jesus.
All right.
That's what I'm saying before.
It's confirmed in the Catholic faith that I love Jesus.
Remember the Titans?
Unbelievable.
Didn't name that.
Was that one of your top three sports movies?
No, it was not.
It was not.
I mean, could be, should be.
I didn't watch it on an early enough age to where it had that impact on me.
See, I was right at that age.
It was so overplayed for me that I took it out of my top three.
Have you seen the movie Goon?
I've not.
It's the most inspirational sports movie you'll ever watch.
in your entire life.
I don't know if that's...
Is that true?
Are you being...
You're dead serious?
100%.
That's a...
That's a...
In Taylor's brain.
Okay.
That's fine.
It's a different.
No, I love that.
I love that.
I mean, Doug the Thug Glat,
Ross de Boss Ray.
I mean, Rocky.
Big epic fight at the...
Dude, that fight scene with those two
at the end of the movie
is way better than any Rocky fight.
Best Rocky movie?
Four?
Probably...
Typical answer.
Well, I think...
Usually the masses aren't wrong.
Right.
That is the typical answer.
That's like the mainstream.
Like, everybody, that's a typical answer.
The last one.
The last one.
The last one.
The last one.
The movie.
It's hard to beat the original.
The story behind it all.
But my favorite to watch is three.
That's great.
Warrior is a better movie than all the Rocky movies.
Was that too, was that?
I mean, I feel like.
Right?
Okay, as long as I made you think.
I didn't want to look stupid.
But also, if I'm on a Southwest flight
and there's 20 minutes left in the flight
and I can't really watch anything else,
I'll watch all the rest of the fight scenes.
All the fight scenes and the movie.
and then that last part.
Just tap, Tommy.
I love you.
God.
Makes you emotionally.
That's an insane take.
Is it?
Yeah.
I'm willing to stand on that.
I'm willing to stand on that.
Everyone's different.
Everyone's different.
It sounds like I'm a lot different in this corner.
No, no, you're okay.
I'm divided on this.
I love you.
I'll throw out a crazy, a bad take.
I know it's a bad take.
But you guys seen all the Creed movies?
No.
I didn't watch the last one.
Sylvester didn't want to watch it.
I didn't see the third one.
I didn't see the third one.
I'm pretty sure it's in the
in the second one when he comes back to beat
Ivan Drago's son.
Yeah.
Right?
He comes, spoilers.
If you haven't seen it, fuck you.
I'm getting spoiled right now.
Whatever.
I mean, it's fucking, it's obvious.
The whole fight.
Anyway,
as he's,
as he's coming back,
as he's coming back in the fight
and drops Drago for the first time,
the rocky theme starts playing.
And right now I'm getting chills thinking about it.
But like that in the entirety of the Creed series,
when I heard that Rocky theme playing for Apollo Creed's son,
I was like, holy shit, this is unbelievable.
This is great.
That was your take.
What was my take, though?
You said this is a terrible take.
That's my favorite moment from that line of movies.
And I was from Creed or all.
Sounds like Creed bleeds into you.
Definitely from Creed.
But it's only from it being from Rocky.
Okay.
If we're going to do unpopular takes as a start of this show, I am willing to stand 10 toes down on this.
The Fast and the Fury series is fucking garbage.
And I can't stand it.
It's been bad for a long time.
I'm talking about one all the way through, brother.
I am not a fan of those movies.
I am willing to take the heat on that.
Nope.
Come on, Cah.
No.
Forget about it.
That shit is garbage.
That is tough.
Anything you got?
Anything you got?
Anything you got it?
Any bad takes you have?
I'm sure.
I'm sure, but I can't think of any right now in this moment.
You guys seem like conspiracy theory, guys.
There's no way to go.
Well, I mean, you know.
Are you...
Travis Kelsey said he didn't believe in climate change 25 minutes ago.
What a great guy.
He's my favorite.
He's my favorite.
He's an unbelievable human being.
Yeah, you're a parent.
Are you also a parent?
You wearing the girl that hat.
A parent?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
I'm a father of two children.
Beautiful.
He's a guardian.
Yeah.
Guardian.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, I know it probably hasn't gotten to this point yet for either of you, but you don't tell your kids the whole truth, the absolute truth and nothing but the truth, I'm sure.
I'm sure there's some stuff that you probably leave out at certain points.
I mean, I'm not saying like that this is a black hat and this is a, no, but like there are certain things you probably leave to them to find out later in life, I'm sure.
Yeah.
Probably more in your situation.
I mean, mine can you really talk yet.
I guess what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying.
In terms of the government, I'm sure there's,
I'm sure we're not being told
the absolute truth in all scenarios.
There's got to be some stuff that's...
Oh, there's some secrets.
Obviously, obviously hidden from us common folk.
Yeah.
And I love talking conspiracy theories, but I always fall back on
like, I don't need to know everything.
It's fun to talk about, hey, JFK
was assassinated by the CIA.
Oh, the moon landing was fake.
Oh, well, 9-11 was inside job.
when you guys, everyone's talking about that stuff?
Yeah, yeah.
At the end of the day, brother, like, I don't care.
I don't think we should know everything.
Oh, yeah.
We don't need to know it all.
No, I don't need to.
I don't want to know it.
No, I just don't think it'll do a whole lot.
I don't want to know everything.
I think it'd be like, the most wild shit to happen in the 20s is they're like, hey,
by the way, guys, aliens are real.
And everyone's like, have you seen inflation though?
Like it's fucking crazy.
Yeah, yeah, talk about the stock market.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's just.
But the aliens.
You saw the aliens.
Saw the aliens.
Yeah.
You saw the fucking aliens, dude.
You saw the, what was it, the video?
In Las Vegas.
It's the Vegas, right?
Yeah, the police officers.
Dude.
I mean, I wish there could have been,
that would have gotten that backyard quick enough.
This camera cuts off at certain points.
Yeah, weird.
That's a weird view.
I'll tell you what, this monitor is unbelievable.
It's a nice.
Brand new.
I'm fucking, I'm, no, it's not.
Brand new.
Yeah.
You kidding me?
That thing is brand new.
We've known about aliens, though, for a long time.
There's no way.
Yeah, it had to be.
Could have been anything else.
Yeah, I mean...
That's a drone show.
Science is based on a true story.
Of all the conspiracy theories, what's your favorite?
What's the craziest...
Are you a lizard people guy?
No, I'm not a lizard people guy.
The Denver airport is a good one.
The Denver airport...
Also a terrible airport.
It's a bad...
Talk to me.
Educate me on the Denver airport conspiracy.
So there's just such a number of world powers
and world leaders, I think,
that have bought property in or around that specific airport.
I'm talking like, oh, because there is nothing around there.
I'm talking about like, I'm talking about like doomsday bunker shit.
Like the queen of England, the prime ministers, the different presidents.
And then, well, you have all that stuff.
That's on the surface, but that's real.
People like, you could know that.
You could look at like the records.
That's actually happened.
But there's, there's murals and paintings on.
the walls of the airport as you're walking through that depict like, yeah, semi-demonic type things that,
like satanic worship type stuff.
Oh, yeah, there's that weird horse in the front, too, that people don't like.
And literally, you'll walk by signs and it'll say like, hey, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Don't talk about the lizard people.
It'll just be like something that says, don't talk about lizard people or something like that.
Yeah, yeah.
You were in the Denver airport in March.
I think I vaguely now remember when we were on the car ride and we were somebody made a kind of
and it might even with me like there's nothing out here or somebody and somebody brought that
murals. Maybe it was, was it you JP?
No, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I don't really think the whole lizard people think.
No, there's a couple of murals, not like ads.
Yeah, that's an actual ad. Yeah, yeah.
They hired that lizard.
Oh, and yeah, there's people who own like squares of, squares of land around like just
high, high ranking people, the highest ranking people.
in the world own like small little squares. So like people have basically theorized that there are
doomsay bunkers there. And in the case of, yeah, that's, that's one of them.
Knife on the, on the pigeon, which the pigeon is piece or something like not sure. But that,
I mean, that's a fucking terrifying little photo. Just walk around with your like five-year-old daughter
and be like, no doubt. What is that? Especially when you're stuck in the fucking
brutal security lines there. Like figure that shit out. Exactly. Yeah.
We're just trying to...
$1,000 over budget. Can't even figure out of TSA line.
Yeah.
Struggling through a 14-hour layover because San Francisco can't take your flight right now.
Amen.
Anyway, anyway. I like that. I like... I would buy some stock in that.
That's a... No, that's a cool one.
We interrupt this episode to bring you Body Armor, busting with the boys.
Sponsored by Body Armor from sport drinks to sport water.
body armor keeps us hydrated all day long. Whether we're talking, watching, or even playing sports,
body armor is our go-to choice. Real hydration, real ingredients packed with electrolytes, vitamins,
and nothing artificial. Body armor has great-tasting flavors like strawberry banana and fruit
punch, my personal favorite, the best athletes and podcasters in the world. Hydrate with body
armor like Ronald Acuna Jr., Christian McCaffrey, Alex Morgan, Terlewan, Will Compton, and more.
And the latest one to join the team if you haven't checked out to Caleb Press.
Leslie interview with Joe Burrow, go check that's such a good one, dude.
But there is nothing like whether you've been running your mouth all goddamn day long,
or it's very hot outside, and you are dehydrated, you are hangary, you are all of the above,
and you're able to look in your fridge or grab an ice cold fruit punch body armor?
There's no better thirst quencher out there.
Drink body armor, drink bustling with the boys, body armor.
Go find them, Amazon stores wherever worldwide.
They're in gas stations.
They're fucking everywhere, boys.
head on over to body armor and get yours today.
Back to the episode.
We all share something in common, by the way.
Do we all know what it is?
White?
Yeah, we're all white.
Let's get the obvious.
Yeah, no, we're all white.
I was making sure.
We're all, we all have verneers.
Oh, yeah.
So mine are a little less obvious than yours and definitely yours.
They look good, though.
They do know, they really look good.
Why did you get yours done?
When or why?
When?
Uh, 2018.
Was this after the, after the LSU debacle?
Exactly right.
I can't tell that story, though, for legal reasons.
So.
That is a cliffhanger.
Hang on now.
Hang on.
No, I can't.
I can't.
I can't regardless.
You told a story about you getting in a fight last time you're on the clock.
Oh, no, that wasn't it.
No, that wasn't it.
It's a different one?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Can you have some cliff notes?
Um, you know, basically, uh, you know, there was some.
You know, you know, it was just.
There was some stuff that happened that caused me to, you know, per se, lose some teeth.
It wasn't a fight, though.
It was with equipment.
And I had to get them, had to get them replaced.
I have a nasty photo of it.
Nasty.
You can't talk about.
My lip was, my lip was cut in half.
I just, I can't do it.
Are we talking about a weight?
We're talking about in the weight room?
It could have been.
It could have been there.
Rose.
It could have been on the practice field.
It could have been in a.
Rose.
A bar.
wire snapped, came back, hit you in the mouth.
Could have been something. I don't remember.
You can't talk about for legal reasons because the school's involved?
Look at that beard.
Was this a Fred's thing?
Did you get smacked because the wire broke?
No.
No, I don't think so.
I don't remember.
I don't remember.
I don't remember.
But that was an interesting time.
I can't talk about it, though.
Legal reasons.
While we're on LSU, though, is that not the most insane town of all time when
it comes to college sports?
And, you know, it's about to get crazier.
We're meeting up with, I think, we're meeting up with Todd Graves, I think a little later.
And he's just touring the country from, he's up in Omaha right now where,
obviously the LSU baseball team is trying to vie for a national championship.
Didn't they just lose to wait for us last night?
They did.
Yeah, three, two.
Controversial strike zone.
Yeah.
Very controversial strike zone.
I've seen it all on Twitter.
Yeah, three two game, I believe.
scored bottom of the eighth.
Interesting.
Interesting. Interesting game.
Yeah, Todd Graves, it's an unbelievable, unbelievable town.
Why is it about to get better?
Because Todd Graves will be here, the fucking owner of, I'm sorry.
Todd Graves is the owner of Keynes, chicken fingers.
Which blows Xxies out of the water.
Cains is number one in the chicken finger category.
Keynes is fucking unbelievable.
Ever since, ever since I was a little kid, we'd tailgate all the LSU games.
And we'd have like a bunch of friends over,
but we do like a big like 25 piece or 50 piece like chicken tender with, I mean,
two little Texas toast boxes full of their cane sauce.
It was just...
It's number one, right?
I'm sick.
Raising cane's chicken fingers.
Of all the chicken fingers?
Of all the chicken fingers.
In fast food.
I don't think it's not even close.
Most likely.
It is not even close.
You have a cane act.
Salt the slaw for an extra piece of toast.
Slaw, extra butter on both sides, B-O-B.
Oh, I did not know that.
Better on both sides.
Nice trick?
Yep.
I didn't know that.
Butter both sides.
extra sauce. Now, when you take down the canes, you funnel out the Texas toast a little bit,
put the piece of chicken in there and then drizzle it up like it's a hot dog?
It's a, it's a good concept. I just, I don't do it. Taylor did teach me that last time we were
it was nice. It's good. It is nice. It's good. Anytime you can get like chicken in between some
bread, especially some butter bread like the Texas toast. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. B-O-B.
Yeah. It's going to go down. It's going to go down good either way. Yeah.
When you were at LSU, what was the best bar? You Fred's guy, Mike's guy, Bogies guy.
I love this, by the way. This is tremendous. I started in bogeys, 100%. I was big in bogeys. And I remember the first time I blacked out. I had three pitchers of Vegas bombs. And I was pouring for everyone. And it wasn't after like a huge game. We had just like beaten Syracuse. And we came home and it was still kind of early because it was like, it was fucking unbelievable. We had a blast.
But I blacked out on Vegas bombs and I wound up in like the pregame, a girl who hosted a pregame,
I ended up in her apartment on her couch sleeping.
And I woke up the next morning.
And they didn't know I was there.
I woke up to them screaming because I was on their couch and they had no idea how I got there.
I had no idea how I got there.
I was shocked.
Are you an aggressive drunk?
Do you like, do you like look for fights?
No, no.
But if they show up, I mean, who am I to stop you?
I think there's a, wasn't there a nice little story, your rookie year on the Raiders?
Of me fighting?
Yeah, I think like after you guys were having brunch.
It was like a day after a game, you guys went out, I think the San Francisco area
had a brunch.
You might have knocked a drink out of the gentleman's hand.
Nope, that's not the story.
That's not what you're mixing.
It's ringing some type of bell.
It's ringing a bell.
You're mixing, you're mixing stories.
You're mixing stories.
What happened after, I wish Alec was here.
I think he's.
Alec would, oh, Alec was selling me down a river in a heartbeat for a piece of cheese.
I fucking love that, man.
He's getting married too.
Real soon.
Is he?
Yes, real soon.
That's the best, man.
Anyway, we go, uh, fuck.
It was, it was, we go after a Thursday night game, we go across and Alex's going to do his,
his, like, rookie dinner, but it's going to be a brunch with all the running backs.
So I get invited and, um, I had, I had,
I had a friend in town and he brought his girlfriend and we were all just hanging out.
Long story short, I'm rushing us back to the apartment after, I mean, an hour and a half,
two hours of mimosas with no breakfast.
So I'm drunk, but I'm fine, right?
I'm fine.
But some of the people that we have with us aren't, you know, they're just not doing too well.
And they wind up throwing up all over the backseat of the Uber.
Oh, no.
That's a $100 cleanup fee.
$100 cleanup fee, but
I was just so worried that this guy was
going to like say some bad shit about me
or do so I paid him $500 to just kind of keep his mouth shut.
Because we got in the car.
We got in the car, I shit you not.
And he goes, oh my God, Alec Ingold with the Raiders,
this is unbelievable.
Typical Raiders fan.
Yeah, well, so I got in the car.
And this guy was just, he had Raiders like memorabilia.
he had stuff and like it was so cool and then like one of our friends threw up in his Uber and it was like
oh shit and it was on the weekend of like a big music fest I don't know what music fest is out there
around October around November October probably sounds right but yeah he was probably going to make
a lot more money than that $100 cleanup fee yeah and he wasn't going to be able to give ubers because
there was just projectile vomit down the passenger seat uh you know he was fired up
tell that story. I hope so. I hope he doesn't hold any hard feeling. If he's watching,
I'm sorry. So which story am I, I'm terribly sorry? Which story am I missing with the knocking the
drink out of the dude's hand? So there was a, there was a time we went out and we weren't,
we weren't looking for trouble, but we were having fun. And eventually, we started at a bar,
walked around to a couple different bars, and we ended up in the same bar that we were in. And
it was about 15 minutes to the last call.
We go,
there's probably like 10, 15 football guys in there, right?
And I'm like, okay, you know, I'm bored.
Not many, not many single women in the bar.
I'm going to just go walk up and go grab us a drink.
And I tell Ale, like I say, watch this.
I walk up, I'm pushing through like the most annoying frat bros
you could even ever imagine.
And like, I'm just, I'm just shoving guys out of the way, just kind of making my way through,
almost butterflying through these guys.
And, uh, eventually I'm pushing my way past a guy and he goes, hey, man, there's a fucking
line.
I'm like, no, I'm, brother, I'm buying.
What you want?
What, what kind of drink do you?
What, what?
He's like, oh, man, I'll take a, uh, Red Bull vodka.
I'm like, all right, fucking freak.
Anyway, uh, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I,
go to the front of the line, I order one Red Bull Vodka, specifically for this guy.
I go up, I hand him the Red Bull Vodka, he goes, man, you're awesome, bro. Cheers. And then I fucking
knock the drink out of his hand as hard as I could. Oh my God. And then I look dead in his eyes and
I say, do something about it. And I walk clean, I walk straight over to my,
basically 2,100 pounds of like pure beef, like beef and muscle.
Yeah.
Like 3-0 linemen, a D-Linman, a D-end, two running backs, a couple of whiteouts, and Alec Ingold,
who accounts for three fucking people on his own.
Yeah.
He's got a fucking chin of steel.
And so we just kind of sit there and he, the guy's like, he has no idea what he's doing.
He's like trying to muster the confidence to come over and say something.
and his bro's like, go, you gotta go.
You gotta defend yourself.
And I was like,
I was, oh my God, it was so.
And he's like, man, you know what happened?
And then the bouncer comes over and he's like, hey, man, we have a problem.
I'm like, yeah, dude, this guy's saying something about me, not gonna, I'm not gonna drink
out of his hand.
And so the bouncer kicks them out.
And he's like, and the dude's buddy, granted, he was the tallest guy.
So I'm like, maybe this guy had some semblance of fighting in his background or he had
He had hopefully more Cajonis than his buddy.
But he said, we'll be waiting outside.
I said, good.
I'm going to fucking curb stump you.
We'll see what happens.
And sure enough, five minutes past,
they have scattered like fucking roaches when the light turns on.
But it was fun.
That's the story he was talking about.
Yeah.
I've grown a lot since then.
Believe it or not.
How many years ago was that?
Believe it or not.
That was 20 minutes ago.
That's why I was late.
No, I'm going to.
That was 2019, I believe.
2019.
Oh yeah,
there's a statute of limitations
there.
Yeah, yeah.
That's like that.
I didn't do anything wrong.
I bought the drink.
Football player privilege right there.
I bought the drink.
Technically,
you could do whatever you want
with that drink once you bought it.
And if you happen to hit it.
That's privileged thinking, I'm sure.
I'm just trying to help you out,
that's what I've said.
That's literally what I'm portraying.
It's privilege.
And then when the bouncer comes over,
do we have a problem?
Like, yeah, these guys are at gosh.
Yeah, no, he knew.
Yeah, he knew who we were and he had no idea.
Yeah.
And he probably got into some shit at LSC like that.
But Ellisian, I feel like they're not ever going to say nothing.
I feel like you got to be scrappy.
You're going to be a white dude in the LSU locker room.
Yeah.
Like the Miami Hurricanes in the 90s.
Yeah.
Miami hurricanes in the 90s.
Right.
Yeah.
When I had, when we were the number two team in the country and we were like 8 and O
about to go play Alabama in Tuscaloosa, I was like, oh, this is college.
This is fun.
This is easy.
And our locker room was fucking crazy.
Not like we were doing bouncing shit off the walls, but the guys,
in the locker room, like the talent that we had, was unbelievable.
And these guys at, like, I didn't know what college was, so I probably couldn't go back to recant
on, like, how these guys were leaders and, like, actually set a fucking tone.
I just thought, this is, oh, this is what college is.
So I could, I'm sure I could have learned a lot more from those guys if I had been fucking
paying attention.
But, I mean, back to the, yeah, it was.
And back to the bars.
I started in bogeys, blacked out in bogeys.
And then...
That's a good way to get back.
You did a good maneuver and gave you back to bogey.
Yeah.
That's all full circle, man.
That's what it's all about, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But bogeys started in bogeys, went a couple other places.
I was at the house for like probably some time in my sophomore year.
And there was always those times that I'd see like Ben Simmons just walking in and just being like tall as fuck.
And it was just being himself.
It was so funny.
We all lived in the same complex over at...
It was right off of campus.
So we got those off-campus stipends.
It was barely off of campus.
And the fifth floor of that little new facility, it wasn't done.
It was still being constructed.
Oh, my God.
It was abysmal.
It was unbelievable.
And, like, we as students didn't do a great job of, like, upkeep.
And it was, oh, God, it was bad.
But it was.
Yeah, yeah.
Ben Simmons was in there.
A few other guys were in there.
And I was just, I was right in the middle.
I was just bad influence after bad influence.
I was having a fucking ball.
Eventually I wound up making it to Fred's though,
who I'm sure you guys know what Fred's is.
I'd help.
We did a live show at Fred's.
A live show there.
It was awesome.
Unbelievable.
Yes.
Unbelievable.
That right there, interacting with everybody of Fred's,
you realize you're just in a different,
you realize you're in a different.
I mean, LSU or Louisiana in general is not the United States.
It's a third world country.
Yeah.
And I mean that as a compliment.
We've always, yeah.
In a mixed.
I see what you're saying there for sure.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just different.
It's like Quebec of Canada.
You know what I'm saying?
I guess Quebec of America.
They're literally like, oh, you should have been here last week and we had a midget wrestling
thing and you're like.
You can say that?
In the end we're done here?
Yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
It's true.
No, they do do that a lot.
It's true.
They do that a lot.
You certainly can't say either.
Yeah.
But that's a.
Oh, fuck.
What a fun time.
He said, oh, fuck.
And it is. It's a fucking blast. Like, you'll have like the frat dude, the frat boy boxing in the, like, they had frat boy boxing in the spring on like a Thursday night. I mean, people would come by the thousands to watch these guys put on the box, put on the big mitts, right? You get to the, uh, there were a couple of times where they put on like, have you seen those, the big fucking boxing gloves? Oh my God. You just, you just put them on and you'd let like two girls fight.
And it was unbelievable.
It was just the most fun that anyone would have.
And then you'd like, yeah, sure, you'd cater it by, from fucking canes or from,
from whoever was across the street, right?
And it was like, oh, they got the fucking macaroni logs in the back.
There's 500 macaroni logs with cups of ranch.
And they're like, holy shit, this is going to be an unbelievable night.
Everyone knows what's going on in the town.
Just nothing happens.
Yeah, Phi Zeta Mew fucking put on.
What a great performance these guys put on for,
for frat boxing.
It was fucking unbelievable.
It would be frats versus frats or internally?
The frats.
I think it was internally.
Yeah.
But holy shit, wouldn't have been fun if it was not.
Yeah.
And they have a crown champion at the end.
You guys get your best guy.
We'll get our best guy.
Right.
Yeah, the one across the street saying they got the toughest one.
Exactly.
You got to figure this out.
Yeah.
And like the, yeah, the winners re-benefits.
You get rewards.
And then you're actually looking for some like fucking thick dudes during rush.
Oh, man.
What a fun time.
Yeah.
I'm looking for thick dudes during rush, man.
Big fucking, got to get you going.
Them hog blocks.
See, we would, our,
Nebraska's never integrated with, like, the frat,
what is it called?
Yeah, Greek life.
Greek life.
Greek life.
Yeah.
Integrated with a Greek life like that.
Which it does seem fun.
Michigan, no, Michigan's got a strong Greek life,
but Michigan, it was like, they either loved the football team
or they hated the football team.
Like, you hear about a party.
You had the opportunity to get, like, in the, in, like,
the Illuminati of Michigan, yeah?
Like the Secret Society.
Yeah, but that wasn't really a fraternity, I guess.
Yes, it is, but it's not like...
Secret society.
What is that?
Yeah.
Like, Michigan has three different secret societies.
It's like Order of Angel, Phoenix, and then there's one more.
I forget what it is.
Back over the head.
You don't know where you're going.
That sounds bad ass.
I got tapped for it one day.
And it was like, I got tapped at like 9 p.m. at night and I didn't get home until
5 in the morning.
And I had a bag over my head at one point.
Like, it was well calculated.
They said, hey, you're getting tapped for this society.
You either enter or you're out.
You have to say right now if you're in.
I was like, all right, I'm in.
And then I'm like, okay, walk outside.
they leave me.
And then I'm waiting there for three, four minutes.
And all of a sudden some guy with a cell phone walks by,
I never seen him in my life and goes, it's for you.
And now I have a random cell phone.
They're making me go different places in the university,
doing specific things.
And I end up at this one house.
And they put a bag over my head.
And they put this metal music on.
They drive me for 20, 30 minutes.
I have no idea with the actual time was.
But it was a long time.
And they're like forcing me to answer these questions.
And not forcing me.
They're asking these questions.
And I'd answer them like, that wasn't good enough.
Answer it better.
And I'm like,
trying to figure out what the fuck these people want for me.
And then like you go through like a hell week
and it's like right in the middle of spring ball.
And so I would do spring ball
and then like right at 7 p.m.
I'd go to wherever I had to go.
It was all like very secret.
Like you couldn't tell people what you were doing.
Like I couldn't tell my girlfriend.
Like it was a wild, a wild time.
Yeah.
The whole idea was like taking like the 25 most influential people
influential students.
Yeah, yeah.
At the university and putting them in one room
for the betterment at the university.
And there's 100% turnover every single year.
There's like calls and chance you have to do.
There's like you have your name with a jingle behind it and like how you present yourself.
Like there was rules and a whole bunch of stuff you had to follow.
And you meet secretly like every Monday at 10 p.m. during the like during the school year.
Jesus Christ.
It was nuts.
Yeah, I did the whole thing.
Have you ever told anyone about that?
Like I mean on this show.
I mentioned it on this spot before.
I think I have went into it a whole lot.
It was wild.
And I could, it's that I would love to tell a story.
But this is not.
This podcast.
No, no.
It's fine.
It's great.
It's a, it's a, it was cool.
though.
Yeah.
Because you get to meet all these different people.
People you never come across.
You know, like,
presidents have been in it before and all that.
Like, there's a,
there's a union building in the middle of campus.
And there's a tower with, like, three, like, three floors.
And they're small.
And they used to be for the secret societies.
And then it became, like, a fire issue.
So they're, like, now they have the secrets.
They move around.
There's tunnels at the University of Michigan during the Cold War.
And, like, no one knows about.
Was there ever any way?
between you and the secret society
to where you're like,
I'm going to take this society down.
No, no, no, no.
There was, there was a,
you know what I mean, like, when I got in.
I don't know.
When you find out who's getting tapped,
like people had an issue with me being in it
because of the whole thing
from my freshman year that,
the allegations.
Yeah, we're not to get into it.
No, I mean, I've talked about it before.
Yeah.
Allegations part one.
Yeah, there's been a lot of allegations.
Yeah.
But down, they didn't want me in
and then I had to, like, talk to them,
like, hey, I tell I to explain them
the whole situation, how it wasn't true.
And they're like, all right.
The gab.
Yeah.
But it was cool, man.
That was a cool situation.
Like, the whole tapping thing was wild.
It was like out of a movie.
Yeah.
It was nuts.
It's very good.
They don't have anything like that at LSU, huh?
Not that I know of.
I don't know if I was that influential.
They just do like fighting and wrestling.
They just put on events with racing chaos as a sponsor.
It's a fucking cool time.
Dude, LSU is one of those schools to me.
I was like, man, I would love to fucking go there.
And it seems like they just live their sports.
Like they're all about their sports, whether it's football,
basketball, whatever.
Yeah, no.
It'll fucking,
ruin your day. Having a bad, having a bad, it'll just ruin your day, ruin your week.
It's all like generally predicated on, all right, what are we doing for our tailgate on Sunday?
Right. Like, that's, you think about it, that's all you think about all fucking week.
It's, yeah, it's, it's sick.
It seems to the school difficult. Is it like a difficult school to get through?
No.
Love that. Love your honesty. I knew the answer and I just wanted to hear you say.
No. You could make it, you can make, I mean, just like a fucking, have you guys done an F-45 workout, not to give no
free shoutouts.
But if you guys...
Shout out Mark Wahlberg.
Shout out Mark Wahlberg.
F-45, I thought it was an airplane.
No, you're talking about...
No.
That was the right thing, right?
The workout?
Yeah, yeah.
Mark Wahlberg?
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
So, these workouts...
Anyway, we don't even need to be this deep, but you get in what you put in.
Like, if you want it to be hard, I'm sure it could be hard.
But I just went to a wedding just this past weekend where the, uh, the bride made
us all do an F-45 workout the day before, uh, after we flew in.
And I told her I would never forgive her.
It was...
Oh, wow.
It was unbelievable.
Obviously, I was joking and I got a lot out of it.
But when the warm up was like a few minutes of like high knees and burpees.
And I said, this is like, people like, people enjoy this.
People like they actively sign up for this.
They want to do, they like doing this.
I don't know.
It was weird.
It was different.
Some cross fit type stuff.
It sounds crossfitty with burpees.
A little bit.
Light warm up and just fucking.
abuse yourself. Yeah, it was just a light warm up of like, okay, hey, we're going to do 10 high
knees and you have someone like that probably shouldn't. Yeah, be showing you the ropes. Yeah,
lead you in the exercise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that's just, that's just how it is. Your brain just
reactivates to that like, you're a coach, you know more than me. Yeah. Yeah. And it's like,
total football move. And so I'm just, I'm sitting there and they're like, oh, no, it's not bicycle.
It's not bicycle labs. You want those to be and then you want to cross over. Just keep your
knees at 90. And I'm like, yes, coach, yes.
Yeah.
100%.
Yeah.
That's fucking...
Should we dive in?
Stop.

Back to the episode.
And that was really good.
Thanks, man.
Thanks.
Yeah.
You've had quite the off season.
I sure have.
Can you walk us through the first moment you found out that you had cancer?
Boy.
It happened for me, obviously in a crazy way that I've shared with you.
But I was just doing a routine physical.
New Orleans Saints.
It's early in the morning.
I'm just trying to get all the shit out of the way just so I can go out of breakfast.
Right?
I had just flown back in from Cincinnati.
I did a physical with them.
I did some meetings, some interviews.
Just trying to gauge what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go.
And a big thing for me was I wanted to see the facility before I made a decision just because I spent a lot of time there.
So I'm going in the morning and I'm going to do my physical.
I got the needle in my arm.
I had just given blood.
I'd peed in the cup.
All I have to do is like just get touched on a little.
bit. I shouldn't have to do any scans and I'll be good to go. And all of a sudden, this guide is
his name's Dr. John Amos puts his hand on me, feels something weird right up here in my left
clavicle. And going through it, I had felt something up here before, and I'd known it was a lymph node.
They've gotten bigger and they've gotten smaller from when I've gotten sick. So normally when I'd feel it
or I'd notice it, I'd be like, oh, I must be getting sick.
And going back and thinking through the times that I had felt it,
it should have been more obvious to me that something was wrong.
So when he felt it, he knew something was wrong,
triggering me to go do a couple of scans, sit there, just kind of wait.
I'm talking with the driver.
It's a guy who works with the Saints.
His name's Harry.
He's in their scouting department.
And he's, we're just talking about our March Madness brackets, right? And so I'm like, all right, yeah, yeah, we got, we got this going on. He's like, oh, man, I really like so and so this year. I'm like, oh, yeah, it's cool. Basically, John Amos gets back from the radiologist that's upstairs. And he says, hey, call Mickey Loomis, the GM. He says, call Mickey, tell him breakfast is off. Consider the physical canceled. Like, we have some stuff to do. And he comes in and sits me down. And he's just kind of got that, like, how am I going to deliver?
this. I have bad news. When he felt the lymph node, what was the doctor's reaction to send you
into radiology? He said, oh, that's interesting. Okay. That's, and so he felt that there. And then he felt
underneath to try to feel the other lymph node to see if that was inflamed, kind of in my peck. But
it was, it was deeper in there. So he really couldn't feel it as well. And so he's kind of,
he's walking with me and we're kind of, we're going to do the scans. And he's like, he's walking me
through symptoms, right? Because initially he feels that and he's like, okay, that.
That's an inflame.
That's a highly inflamed, no, that should not be that big.
No matter how sick you are.
No, that's just what I'm imagining.
He's thinking.
He's not trying to trigger me to be nervous.
And so he's walking.
Were you nervous?
Were you starting to think like, this, this happened several times in my, you know.
Yeah, because the doctor, he seems like he's not trying to make it a big deal.
He's saying, hey, we had to go to a couple scans.
My first thought would be like, hey, what are the scans about?
Like trying to figure out the answer the question.
Or answer the reason.
We're trying to figure it out as.
as we were going, right?
Because it's a routine physical.
He's not supposed to find anything.
He's more looking and he's doing that for me.
He's not really doing that for the team.
Yeah.
Like, he's supposed to check my joints, my knees, my elbows, my wrists, my neck.
He's supposed to make sure I'm healthy, not in the form of real, like, physical health.
It's supposed to be athletics.
But it was the first thing he touched.
And from there, you could just kind of see he was a little more frantic, not really as patient.
and he really just started to like kind of get things into gear.
From there I kind of felt like, yeah, there was, you know, there's probably something going on,
especially when we started doing tests and he was a little nervous about it.
I'm like, okay.
For me at that point, I'm like, okay, this could be really bad.
Cancer, probably.
This could be this.
You thought to yourself.
That was my initial thought.
I'm like, you know, and two, probably two or three weeks before that, I had felt that.
and said, God, what if that's just like a tumor in my body?
Like, what if that's not, that's not supposed to be or it doesn't feel like that over here.
You know, what if it's, uh, what if it is cancer?
You know, I'll probably find out on my, on my free agency visits.
And then that comes up, free agency comes up.
I'm stressed out.
I'm not even, I'm not thinking about it, right?
Um, and then I go through my first physical, nothing, he doesn't feel it.
Nothing happens.
He doesn't check.
Um,
And then the second guy comes, and I'm like, oh, yeah, I did have that.
That is weird.
Anyway, he comes and sits down with me and he says, okay.
So let's talk about, you know, Hodgkin's lymphoma.
I'm like, okay, that's a big word, right?
And I'm just kind of, just kind of going through it and trying to figure out,
trying to figure out kind of what he's saying or how, you know, how sure he is, right?
Because obviously he wouldn't bring it up to me if it wasn't a possibility.
And so in a weird way, the kind of pieces start to fit to the puzzle and the dots start to
connect a little bit.
I'm like, okay, that's, that's different.
That's interesting.
It's like, let's go talk to the radiologist and he'll explain to you everything that's going on.
after about five minutes of telling me about how curable and treatable Hodgkins is.
I'm like, okay, that's different.
So let's go do that.
We talk to the radiologist.
I'm still like, I'm at a coin flip.
It could be like a benign cyst of something in my neck or it could be cancer.
And so we start talking to the radiologist.
And he's explaining to me how it's, you know, that's not what it's supposed to look like.
It's, you got them here.
You got a couple different spots throughout your body that are a little, that kind of light up when we put this,
we put this fluid into you and did this scan.
I'm like, okay, where's the burden of proof?
I remember asking him.
He says, what do you mean?
I'm like, well, do we have to prove that it is or that it isn't?
And I said, okay.
And he said, well, we got to prove right now to me looking and feeling, despite you
not having any symptoms, we have to, we'd have to prove that it's not, certainly.
I'm like, okay, to about what percent?
He goes, upper 90s, 97 percent, Hodgkin's lymphoma?
in my brain. And I said, 97. That's a lot. And so he said, we'd like to do a biopsy. We'd like to do it as fast as we can.
If we let you leave this hospital right now without having anything done, then like you're susceptible to not knowing anything. And it's taking a lot longer for you to find out.
I'm like, fuck. Okay. Sure, let's do it now. So they give me some light of cane, cut me open. I'm still awake.
take some core samples out.
And then the same guy I was talking about with the March Madness Bracket, Harry, he drives me back.
And funny enough, I'm in New Orleans.
My mom is 10 minutes away from the hospital.
And so I walk in after having called my mom and telling her all the information right before the biopsy.
And I just break down.
Obviously, it's, you know, it was nothing that was in my control.
and it was really difficult.
And I think a ton of the stress from the free agency really just kind of melted away.
And I just stopped thinking about that all together and started thinking about life in a way.
And that was obviously extremely low point.
And then I had to start, I had to try to tell the people that were important,
but also not tell enough people to where all of a sudden now it's news that I have.
haven't let out on my own, right? I called my agent. Well, I called my dad. I called my girl. I called
my agent. I called my coaches. I kind of told them what was going on. The people that were important to me,
I made a courtesy call to Zach Taylor with Cincinnati because I'd seen him the day before.
And I said, hey, thank you for your consideration. I just, I got medical issues going on right now. And I don't
want to hold you guys up from being the team that you want to be. I know you guys knew that I was
considering going with you. So right now I'm probably, I'm probably, I'd have no opportunity to come
there and help you. To which he was very gracious and said he would be praying for me, which I meant
a lot to me. From there, it was actually all uphill. And it was all pretty good. Sent to tweet out,
got a lot of positive feedback, a lot of responses.
It was obviously a lot of crying done and a lot and a lot to be done.
But right as I felt, it was all positive.
It was all super positive.
And like, that's how I got to be.
That's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to beat this.
It's going to be great.
You know, football's on the back burner.
We're just going to beat cancer.
That's what we're going to do.
I got a call from the doctor that was recommended me by Dr.
John Amos.
His name's Dr.
Carter Davis.
He is a, he's the, what is it called?
The oncologist for, he's one of the lead oncologist down in New Orleans at the
Benson Medical Center, the Benson Cancer Center on the fifth floor.
Great dude.
And, yeah, really, and a really good doctor.
He calls me, as I feel the weight of the world bearing down on me from every which way,
just talking to people and seeing their experiences.
Namely, I remember one guy that I was talking to.
It was like, yeah, you know, my relative of mine went through this.
And I'm like, well, you know, how bad's the chemo?
How bad's the radiation?
You know, it's bad.
But you could push through it.
He goes, no, man, it sucks.
Brutal shit now.
It's like, it's brutal.
And I'm like, okay.
So I'm, I fucking, I want to kill myself.
This is the most, this is gut wrenching.
But right as I feel it all bearing down, I mean, I'm as stressed as I'd ever been in my life,
Carter Davis gives me a call and says, hey, we just got your, we just got your cell type back
from your initial biopsy of your cancer diagnosis.
So this is something I learned that everyone's cancer is different because obviously there's
a ton of different types, right? There's breast cancer, there's ovarian cancer, there's leukemia's.
There's even Hodgkins as too. There's Hodgkins and there's non-Hodgkins, not Hodgkins being in your bone marrow.
There's just so much that I didn't know and that couldn't be learned. And from there, there's
different cell types. So I had, there's 95 to 97% of patients have lymphocyte predominant cell type,
which means it's it's the most researched form of Hodgkins lymphoma.
What I wound up having was non-limf,
or it was nodular lymphatic predominant Hodgkin's lymphoma.
So it was less aggressive, it was slow moving,
and it didn't require chemo, radiation,
or any of the other life-altering things that you'd have to go through.
That's my journey's, so my journey's different.
And when he told me that that was possibly what I had,
tears came to my eyes and I said, oh my God, like this is, this is God's active hand waving over me.
I was shocked. I was shook. I'm still shook thinking about it. It gives me chills.
And just it makes my heart race. But there was just such an outpouring of faith and belief and prayer that had been sent to me.
I couldn't see it any other way. And I did a secondary biopsy.
that you could see right here where they put me under,
took out a ton of that,
took out a ton of that lymph node
and ran a bunch of tests just to make sure
it was what we thought it was.
They were what we thought.
Yeah, whatever. Anyway, but it was.
It wound up being the, it wound up.
You got to love just humor in the middle of them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They were who we thought they were.
Yeah.
But it was. It was NLPHL.
And so from there, I,
I remember I was
I was watching my
little cousin's tennis match
he's a tennis player down in Baton Rouge at LSU
and I got that call
and it was the nurse. She's like, hey,
it's overwhelmingly positive news.
It's NLPHL. No chemo, no radiation.
And you're going to be
back to what you want to do
in a month. We're going to schedule you a week from now.
You'll be back a month after that.
And I said, that's unbelievable.
That's no way.
That's honestly the greatest news I might, next to an I-do from the person I marry and a,
it's a boy or it's a girl and it's a healthy baby.
That'll probably be the best news I ever received in my life.
Unbelievable.
So I went and I did my one transfusion with this drug called retuximab.
and from there, I just got, I just, the following, the insinuing Tuesdays, I did shots in the stomach
of the rytocumab.
And after that, I walked out of that hospital and the day after I signed with the Saints.
Fuck, man.
That was a fucking wild story.
Yeah.
How long was that, when you received the, the news that you had, that you had cancer?
you're telling your family, the waterworks is happening, how long is it as you're finding out
like it's uphill from there? Like when did it start to seem like, okay, maybe it's not.
Maybe it's not going to be as easy, as easy or as hard. Maybe it's not going to be as hard as I'd
imagined. When I got that, when I got that phone call, I got that phone call after my buddy,
AJ Cole's wedding. Shout out the boy, AJ. Shout out the boy, AJ Cole. Unbelievable punter.
You would know. Yes.
right after his wedding,
the weight of the world was bearing down on me.
And then I got that phone call and I said,
oh my God, this is incredible.
How long was that news from when you received the bad news?
It was probably about, it was probably a week and a half.
So you're just in it, your head,
your mind's going everywhere for a solid two weeks.
Yeah, it was bad.
I mean, there was a lot of support.
It was, it was tough.
it's always going to be something that I do,
and I'm going to do it graciously and humbly.
But my experience,
I hope anyone diagnosed with cancer has my experience.
It did not affect my body.
My quality of life was not changed.
I was obviously, I was upset.
I was stressed.
It couldn't have happened at a worse time,
or it couldn't have happened at a better time.
I mean, you never know, right?
with just how the timing works, right?
But I didn't have a team.
I didn't have a home.
And all of a sudden, now I have cancer.
So I got some rough shit that I was trying to deal with.
And I'm like, this is terrible.
And shout out to the saint.
Shout out to Mickey Loomis.
Shout out to the people that said,
from the day after that they had the information,
they said, we're sticking by you.
And you're a saint to us no matter what.
No matter if you could play tomorrow,
or if you'll never play again.
you'll always be you'll always have always have a home here i said oh my god yeah is that the big reason
why you decide to sign with them um that that amongst others i mean i didn't i didn't quite realize
how important it was for me to be home um i mean just having to deal with everything and trying
to find another hospital or just another place to do the blood work or another um another person i
would trust as much as the people that were already taken care of me that have been that have been
difficult. I'm sure there, I'm sure there are plenty of wonderful doctors at the other spots I was
considering, but it really dawned upon me once I walked into the facility, which was 12 minutes away
from my mom's house. And I said, yeah, this is exactly where I needed to be right now in this very
moment. It seems like you handled everything gracefully. One thing he said that you actually called
Zach Taylor yourself, was that something you, like you were like, I want to make sure and call this
coach? Because the next guy could easily just say, hey, do me a favor to your agent.
all this guy and let him know that this is going on?
It's no secret that, you know,
they're having a lot of success up in Cincinnati.
And it's, you could look at the stats and you could look at,
you could look at Joe, you could look at Jamar,
you could look at T. Higgins, you could look at Joe Hickon's,
you could look at their own line, their defense,
their secondary, their franchise safeties,
who they don't have anymore.
But regardless, you could see on paper,
on the field, on the grass, why they're having so much success. Talking to Zach Taylor,
you could tell that all that success is being managed in an extremely positive way. He just,
it seemed like he was doing things in a really positive light. It was something that I definitely
was going to consider down the line. But it was just, it was a courtesy I know that he would have
extended to me. And I, it's just, it wasn't in my place to just lead someone on or just kind of
keep misinformation perpetuating.
That wasn't, that just, that's not my MO.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But anybody who has, you know, tough information,
they might want to just focus on themselves and just have,
just make their agent do it.
Yeah.
Can you reach out to Zach and say all that?
That's why I asked that question is like, you know,
very personable of you to go and call another head coach and say,
I appreciate it, but here's what's going on X, Y, and Z.
Yeah.
In the middle of dealing with an emotional battle that you're dealing with.
Yeah.
I'd talk to him the day before.
honestly, Taylor, it just seemed like he was a guy that I wanted in my corner with a prayer.
Yeah, I'd stand by that.
Yeah.
When you look at everything now going through all that and being as minimal as it could have possibly been,
like where, how has your outlook changed on life before all this or then after?
Man, I'm gracious.
I'm grateful.
I'm thankful.
and there's been plenty of times where I thought, you know, like, and a lot of the times for me,
it's the wrong way, it's the wrong way to do it. But like, we just did 10 OTAs, really, we did nine
OTAs and then three mini-camp practices. And I was like, there'd been something that I'd,
there'd been a play that I went back. There's always a play you went back, right? It's like,
fuck. God, I mean, Cam Jordan gets off the ball and like, I'm behind the snap count. It's a quarterback that
isn't Derek, which is crazy that we're back together, and we could talk about that.
But, you know, it's the guys whose cadence I wasn't ready for.
And now Cam Jordan's in the backfield and I'm scrambling.
I look like an idiot.
And I'm like, God, this fucking sucks.
And then I'm kicking myself all day.
I'm down.
I'm like, God, I'm fucking pumping weight.
I'm just, all I'm thinking about is just being laid off the ball.
And I'm like, this fucking blows.
And then I'm like, it could be a lot worse.
It could be sitting by the river there in the Benson Cancer Center.
just with an IV in your arm for eight hours going through,
going through reticamab going through,
or something worse, going through chemo or radiation.
Like, it's always, it's always worse.
And everyone has their own set of problems.
Anyone you walk past,
and anyone in this bus has their own battle
that they're fighting right now.
But it's just, it gave me a lot of perspective.
Yeah.
Fuck, man, this is,
I appreciate you sharing all this stuff too.
I can only imagine how hard it was to tell your parents.
Yeah.
I was, that was difficult.
I'm, I'm, I'm extremely close with both.
I spent a lot of time with my mom.
And naturally, she's a little,
she's a little skeptical.
She doesn't, she doesn't trust medicine all that much.
Hell yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, a little bit, a little bit.
Just down, Sally.
A little bit.
A little bit.
So, you know, I, I just,
I trust the experts and those guys seem to know what they're talking about.
They weren't blown smoke out their ass.
So initially she kind of, she called me on the phone call right after I got the news.
And then I got home and I just, I just broke down.
Just hugged her and broke down.
So it was, they were kind of explaining to me that it could be this, it could be this.
It could be any one of those things.
And I'm like, yeah, like, it's just, it's just, it's.
It's not. I just, I know, I know this is what they say it is. It's, it's Hodgkins. And we just got to, there's a chance it couldn't be. You know, in my brain, I'm like, we've beaten a lot of odds, right? You know, the three of us, certainly, we beat plenty of odds. We've gone from, you know, grammar school to high school to college to the pros. We've played, we've had long careers. And I'm just, I'm going to play as long as I can, as long as they'll continue to have me. But, um,
In my brain, I'm like, you know, I've been a lot of odds.
It'd be really hard to beat these.
I have no control over these.
But I remember, and I remember telling fucking Schaefter, I'm like, we beat a lot of odds,
but we kicked a lot of ass, too.
So whichever one we have to do this time, that's just what we're going to do.
It's a great line.
Yeah.
Phenomenal line.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, I can't imagine.
I'll tell your family that stuff.
You had a similar situation happened with you.
Yeah, I mean, but not that one.
Yeah.
You were on it was like
Yeah, I mean, I was out in Buffalo and I had a I was going out for a physical
And I had a scan I was doing a C-spine scan just because of stinger's like a stinger history
And they're like, oh, let's just do a C-spine scan just a yada yada yada yada
Yeah
And I remember watching film with the linebacker coach and they end up knocking on the door
The doctor the team doc at the time and he's like hey can we borrow will for a minute
You got all of physical stuff back he's like when you get done with that you know we'll get back into this cover one cover three
You know you're not much cover much cover one.
one.
Yeah.
Go ahead.
Yeah.
And I remember sitting in the office and they had the scan up.
He said, you see what this is?
And there's like this white mask like in my neck at the bottom of my brain.
And he was like, you know, I don't want to speculate.
He's like, but I don't know what this is.
I know it's a cost for concern.
And, you know, we can't clear you right now.
And here's what your options are.
And then he started talking about like,
what do you talk about?
Like going to their radiology,
getting the scan, getting the ink,
getting the I-Eat or a CT scan.
Do you want a pet or a CT scan?
Right, do it.
Putting the color, the dye in your brain
so that way they could see the coloring
and all this stuff.
He's like, but I would, you know,
you probably don't want to be in Buffalo.
You probably want to be.
And then that's when it kind of started hitting me.
I was like, like, do I have like a tumor or something?
He's like, honestly, I don't know.
I'm not an expert and I don't want to speculate
or put anything in your head,
but I would advise you probably,
you probably want to be around your family.
So I'm like flying back.
Washington was taking good care of me at the time.
Dr. West, she's like, hey, we'll get you right when you land,
take an Uber over to the radiology department.
We'll get you an MRI.
And as I'm walking up, you can hear them say like,
you know, this, we could be looking at a tumor.
I think we're going to have to get this removed and sending it into the lab.
As you know, they're trying to get it out so that way they can see or not if it's benign
or something that's aggressive.
Of course.
He's always here.
He's here.
He's here.
They get off the phone.
And he's like,
I'll come in here and tell me.
And I was like, you know,
just tell me what.
Right.
Yeah,
I feel like I'm an emotional from fucking his story first.
Um,
and he's like,
I was like,
yo,
just tell me what,
you know,
I'm looking at it.
If I can't play football anymore,
I don't care about that.
Because he's like,
hey,
if we get this removed,
we could just put a,
like,
you know,
titanium,
basically on your fucking brain,
you'll be good.
You'd be good for training camp.
I was like,
listen, man,
If I got something, if I got a tumor in my brain,
I don't give a fuck about that.
I don't give a shit if I'm to play Oklahoma drill again anymore in training camp.
And he's like, we're going to send this off to,
he's like, because again, he's just a radiologist.
And they're like, the neurosurgeoners are going to see it tomorrow.
And so everybody, you know, everybody,
all the team docs in Washington were sending it off to, you know,
anybody like fucking internationally,
everybody's to get their eyes on the scan.
I'm up all night talking with my boy, Trent Murphy,
about, you know, what it could be.
he's researching his own thing. He's fucking, you know, one of them warm, old cats. Like,
you want to be in the foxhole with it. Of course, yeah. And, uh, you know, I basically get zero
sleep that night. And then I wake up, uh, the neurosurgeon calls the next day. So, hey, man, I know
you've been stressing all night. You do not have a tumor. This is, in my opinion, benign. And you've
had this in your brain since you were, you know, since you were a kid. Because I look back at your
old MRIs and this is something that the redskins missed. He's like, it is a hard thing to miss,
but it is on some of your old C spine. So I'm under the impression that it's
been in there since as early as whenever I had my first, like, either Stinger or whatever in 2014.
Yeah.
So, yeah, that was my, that was my story with that, which I've told a couple times on here.
But I remember the hardest call being to my dad about it.
I don't know why I'm crying.
So stupid.
It's all good.
It's just the emotional shit, man.
You get the parents stuff involved and that always tickles something.
Um, but that was the hardest call.
So that's why I asked that.
Of course.
That's my story.
Let's please, for the love of God, let's move on to something else.
Uh, so Denzel Washington.
Yeah.
Denzel Washington, man.
I guess no range.
Yeah.
No range in that one.
Like a flintlocked pistol.
Yeah.
Yep.
No range.
Straight ahead.
That's all he's got.
It's a wild deal, man.
It is.
The entire time you're telling that story, I'm like, you know,
when you talked about, I go home and then that's the moment I break down.
I just feel it rising up in me.
I'm like, I'm thinking, thankful you're asking questions too because I'm like, fuck, man.
Because you're obviously a friend too.
And I can only imagine how difficult that was just because you actually were receiving bad fucking news.
And I can, you know, I just remember that moment for myself.
And you're just like, you almost don't know how to wrap your brain around it at first.
Not at all.
And then you're speculating until you get whatever the results are.
And you kind of like, it didn't necessarily hit me until I was actually.
actually trying to get it on my mouth and tell my dad. Because I was like, yo, don't tell mom.
Wasn't going to tell my wife now, but it wasn't going to tell Charo until I knew like what
results actually were. But that's when I realized how like, yo, this could be something real
that's going on. But yeah, man, that's, that story is wild. Yeah. There's, there's,
there's just so much information. I mean, when I initially got it, I just kind of went into that,
just take information for what it is and try not to be emotional.
right now. Like, just really just perked up, wide-eyed, and just kind of like just tried to
pierce this guy's eyes with mine and just understand what he's saying, gather as much information
and facts as I could, just so that I could relay the information as clearly and accurately as
possible. Yeah. Yeah, that's, that's kind of the mode that I went into. But as soon as all that
melts away and you have given all that information, then you become a human being again.
Yeah.
And it's-
Especially when you see the reactions of others too and just.
Of course.
There's parts of like, you know, in like our line of work and everything else, you try to
quickly wrap your arms around it to see it as like, of course, am I going to beat this
motherfucker?
And you see it kind of as like a challenge type of thing or like, you know, we're going to,
then you almost, I would assume if it continued down that, that, that, uh,
that road of it being something like a tumor,
it would almost be harder to see anybody else around me reacting
versus my own self.
Because you're trying to explain it.
You know everybody's trying to be there for you.
You don't know if you're probably in the mood to talk at times about it.
You know, it's on everybody's mind.
Let me just fucking address this elephant.
No, that's exactly right.
So it's like, it's one thing,
one thing that I didn't want to do is go on like a media circus.
But there could have been some, like, it's just the thing is I didn't want to like popularize
going on like and just doing a bunch of different interviews for a bunch of different people
and just trying to like, I didn't want it to make it seem like I was trying to build my brand
through my diagnosis.
And I know that's like a crazy thing for me to say because obviously that's not happening.
It's just I already have a bit of a brand.
And then all of a sudden this crazy news jumps and,
and I'm a free agent, okay, I get this information out.
That was just, that was a fear that I had had initially going in.
But talking to people, they've been just so supportive of it.
Obviously, I talk about it a lot just because it is so well known that I have now gone through this,
even though I don't look or feel any different.
Yeah.
That was a thing too.
And that news came out, obviously everyone, that's a viral thing.
Like it was fucking spreading like wildfire.
And having you on the bus now, it's almost like a part of me.
I see you sign with the Saints.
I'm like, man, this is fucking awesome that he's, you know,
whatever's going on with the story and everything else.
But I'm almost like, you know, like, so is he like cancer-free?
Because you haven't done a whole lot of talking about,
not that you should be doing it.
But yeah, exactly.
You do have that up in the air.
It's like, man, he's fucking out there playing right now.
Like, should he be out there in the,
are they taking care of my guy out there?
Should he be out there fucking?
Fuck.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, holy shit.
I have won, I've won last scan.
I think nine days or eight days from now, June 29th.
And that will be another, I think that will be another pet scan where they're going to,
they shoot you with radioactive sugar, basically, and you go in and you do it.
The sugar basically targets, and I could pull up a picture for you,
but the sugar targets the parts of your body that are consuming it, right?
So like, it'll go to your brain, your heart.
you'll see sugar in your bladder.
But then the other parts that pop up on the scan, those are the parts that are eating up the sugar and those are considered to be cancerous.
So for me, I had them here and I had some here.
I'll have one last scan to see how much those have gone down due to the retuximab.
And after that, if I go on there and see like a limited amount of black spots,
I will, in my own head, have rung the bell.
And I would have been done in remission at that point.
Yeah.
That's in nine days.
That'll be in nine days.
Is there any anticipation for that?
You feel pretty confident right now.
I feel good about it.
Everyone takes to the medicine.
Everyone takes to the ritechomabin a different way.
And I've been quoted as calling this a life sentence for myself.
I might never have to do it again.
but the studies and statistics show that I might have to go do more of this stuff,
but at that point, it's, again, it's still not chemo.
It's a drug that I'm now familiar with and my body's familiar with.
So it'd be, hopefully, in my brain, this is just the way that I see it.
It'd be like maybe four more treatments a month long, 10 or 12 or 15 years from now, right?
and then maybe do it more after that and more after that and just once every year or two years
going in and doing a scan and making sure it's not growing.
But for me, it seems like the NLPHL, that diagnosis of it not being aggressive or growing
or really spreading off all that fast, that'll always kind of be the thing that I lean back on
and say, okay, regardless of what it is, I'll be okay.
That's my thought.
When you take that medicine, is there a reaction to your body? Like, do you feel a certain way?
They have to, so they do the infusion, the infusion, whatever it is. They do that because anything
you put in your body, especially something you're not familiar with, you could be allergic to it,
right? You could have a reaction. And there are people, there's like, it was basically a coin flip,
about 50-50 of people who have a reaction and some people who don't have a reaction. Now, the reaction
doesn't mean it's not working or that you can't have it. It just means that you're introducing it to your
body too fast. For me, I did not have that reaction. So it went, we did 30 minutes at 50 ccs per hour.
We did 30 minutes at 100 ccs per hour. And we just drifted it in until the 900 cc bag had dripped all the way out.
And I just, I mean, you're just sitting there. You're reading a book and or you're looking at
your phone or you're watching a video. And then all of a sudden the Benadryl,
starts, I mean, those words are swimming on the page.
And you're like, holy fuck, this can't be Benadryl, right?
Yeah.
And all of a sudden, I'm...
Kind of a fun deal.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kind of, yeah.
I mean, you don't want to say it too loud.
No, no, no, no, it's not.
No, I'm just, I'm looking.
I'm just like, oh, my God, this is a blah.
Well, I mean, I had gone and I had done surgeries before, but like, they'll go in
and they'll bring the vials in.
I remember I did my ACL and I did my ACL in Baton Rouge.
Again, fucking great town.
and the guy comes in and he's explaining
what he's about to put into my arm.
He's like, hey, this is going to loosen you up.
It's going to relax you.
It's basically like a margarita.
I'm like, oh, fuck yeah.
It's like 5.30 in the morning.
I'm like, oh, fuck yeah.
He goes, I was hoping you said that.
And so I'm not kidding you like a fucking magician.
He had one violin in this hand.
He flipped his hand.
And he had a second fucking violinist.
And he goes, I was hoping you said that.
So I brought two of them.
I said, oh my
Light me up, brother.
God.
Yes.
And so he did.
I remember the doctor as he's putting the, what, anesthesia, right?
Yeah.
As he's given me the, as he's giving me the anesthesia.
He goes, all right, just count backwards from 100.
He goes, I know what this is.
I'm basically drunk.
I go, I know what this is.
Yeah.
And I'm fucking out like a light.
The doctor woke, when he woke me up and he came and just gave me a recap of it,
He's like, God, you're a fucking hilarious.
If you ever want to grab a drink sometime, here's my card.
Let me know.
Oh, you're hit him by the doctor.
Nice.
Fucking hilarious.
So funny.
Just, yeah, it was an interesting time, certainly.
Man, it is a weird fight when you're going against anesthesia.
Oh, yeah.
Weird deal.
Yeah, some people try to fight it.
They're like, all right, countdown from 10, you're probably not going to hit five.
Yeah.
Oh, I hit five.
And then you just kind of just like, you droop out.
And you're just like, oh, fuck.
That's the skin, I've only had surgery like, like two, three times.
And every time, like the fear is like, you know, I'm just a corpse to these people.
What if they do something to me?
Right, right.
And I literally, I remember I got my tonsils out.
I got my tonsils out when I was 21.
And I literally asked the doctor, I was like, hey, can you get like hard when you're on anesthesia?
They're like, no.
I'm like worried about getting like wood.
Why'd you ask for that so aggressively?
And you get, are you sure?
During this?
Like, what's the deal?
Like a dream.
You know, you wake up in the morning and that shit's, like,
like, you know, it's fucking up there.
Yeah, it's poking.
Yeah, absolutely.
And it's not much, but it's mine, but also a doctor's rolling around.
At the few levels are low.
I always are in the morning.
Yeah.
Anytime a doctor's a little more, hey, here you go, buddy.
Yeah, yeah.
In the appropriate situation, I had a, I had a GI bug.
Like, in 2016, I was, like, over the toilet for, like, three days straight, like, full body cramps.
And I went into the hospital.
Eventually, I got to get an IV.
So I, like, go to the hospital.
And they were so full, it's putting me in, like, the pediatrics here.
So I was like, there's like, toy cars and shit all around.
surrounded by kids and Legos and blocks.
The doctor walks in and says, hey, what's the deal?
I said, brother, I've been sick.
I've been throwing up.
I've seen an IV, maybe some like zoffron or something like that.
Whatever, like helps.
Is it Zofran?
What helps with, like, upset stomach, nausea?
Ivermectin?
Maybe.
I don't know.
What's evermectin?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was, I seen something.
And then he's like, yeah, dude, we'll get you no problem.
We'll get you in and out of here.
We'll get the IV.
And I was like, hey, if you have some of that.
stuff that gets you fucked up, too.
I mean, I'm not doing anything today.
So he's like, are you hurt?
I was like, I can be.
And the doctor, the doctor hits me.
He's like, brother, I got you.
Leaves comes back, hits me with it.
And I'm like, he leaves like 10 minutes.
It comes back.
I'm like, hey, dude, I don't really feel it.
Can you give me another one?
He's like, you're a big guy.
We'll get you another one.
So he fucking, he fucking pops me.
So you're in someone's living room.
No, no, okay.
Yeah.
He hooks me up with another one.
I can't remember what the medicine was.
It's like the main thing they give you
when you break a bone or something like that.
But I forget what it is.
Anyway, he puts it in the IV.
I'm starting to feel it a little bit.
I'm feeling pretty good.
And now it's like the IV's done.
It's time for me to leave.
Dude, no joke.
I went to stand up.
My legs did not fucking work.
Bro.
I stood up and it was like immediately so fucking high.
I'm laughing.
Like my,
my wife had like those little peach rings.
Little candy.
Yes, yes.
Yes.
I get a couple of those.
I get them.
I couldn't chew.
I started to choke a little bit.
They had to pull them out of my mouth.
No joke.
They fucking, I'm like, Stephen Hawking's going out of this hospital, dude,
has a rolling me out of this wheelchair.
And it was like the best five hours.
And I went from hell to live in the dream.
Oh, my God.
That's unbelievable.
I had a...
That's my story of being in the hospital.
You guys have some cool ones.
I have shit ripped.
I have one about that.
They put a nerve block.
I had a basically like near a sports hernia, but it was a weird little injury that I had back in 2021.
I had to go get my...
I had to go get some shit cleared out
like of my pelvic area
and they put a nerve block in me.
Yeah, right?
They put a nerve block in me.
And so I'm still like, I wake up from the surgery.
I'm still feeling good.
They're like, this guy, oh my God, God bless him.
He's a 19 year old like, like just nerve.
Just helping out at the hospital.
I don't know what is fucking efficient.
He couldn't have been more than 19 years old.
He's wheeling me out, right?
He's like, even my mom pulls the car around.
She's about to drive me back to Vegas from L.A.
And I go to stand up and like, I'm okay.
I'm good.
I'm all right.
I'm fine.
I'm, uh, yeah, this is great.
It's fine.
And so I go to get into the car.
I go lift my leg up, right?
And the nerve block had shut down my right leg.
Right.
So I go and I lift my left leg up to get into the car.
I fucking collapse on the pavement like over my, like over my body,
fresh out of surgery, probably 90 minutes ago.
I, like, collapsed over my body, and I'm like,
oh, my God, I just blew my fucking knee out.
I had, there's no way the angle my knee was at just now.
There's no way, like, I mean, fully bent all my weight.
I'm like, there's no way out and just blow my everything,
every capsule in my right knee.
And so I get in the car and I'm freaking out, like, my knee's, like,
I don't know if my knee's thriving or not.
I can't fucking feel anything.
So, like, if we get two hours through the four,
and a half hour driving. I'm like, mom, pull the fucking car over. I need to, I need to, I need to,
I need to see. I need to see my leg works. Yeah. I told you you should have trusted them
doctors. It's like, yeah, so yeah, I'm like, I'm calling the doctors. I'm like, hey, is fucking,
is, is, is, is, was that his name James? I said, get that motherfucker on the phone. How
dare you get, no, but like, I told him like, not to help. This is pre-cancer, by the way,
maybe, who fucking knows. Yeah. Perspective now. And yeah, right?
New guy. My mom's like, I'm not pulling.
I'm not pulling over.
Yeah.
I'm not going to just walk out here on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere to figure out
whether you fucking, your knee is okay.
Knee wound up being perfectly fine.
I was like, apparently I landed on the fucking, like on the side of the car.
Like I was fine.
But I just, I was, again, from those drugs, I was freaking out.
Man.
It's a good time.
Good time.
Solid of time.
What other drugs have you done?
Drugs are bad.
Drugs are bad.
Yeah, allegedly.
Yeah.
If you trust the doctors.
That's why I just,
In my family, we have a history.
No history of cancer, but we do have a history of mistrusting doctors.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I guess, supposedly, I guess.
So what would be your mom, it sounds like.
She's a great woman.
Yeah.
I love that.
Yeah, she just listens to Rogan.
I love that lady.
Must.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Jerry clips.
Yeah.
We'll see.
Should we get into our tear talk?
I believe we should.
Now, you are one of the only guests to ever give us to request.
Which I appreciate.
I love that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I love it. Like, what the fuck we do for your talk today?
You gave three great options.
I was fucking blindsided last time.
My brain shut up.
A night's tail.
A night's tail.
It's a tremendous movie.
A tremendous movie.
Yeah.
And honestly, we didn't give probably the sports movie to your talk the moment it deserved
anyway.
Probably.
Probably true.
You gotta see.
I'm ready.
Which, what we wanted to do?
Oh, yeah.
I don't remember.
No, that's cool.
It's fine with me.
It's fine with me.
It's fine with me.
No, it's cool.
It's fine with me.
Um, I do got to look at one thing.
Yeah, it's fine with me.
It's fine.
Go ahead.
Do you have a question?
Hmm.
Not at the moment.
Can it be any of James stories?
Bro, James is,
James is fucking awesome.
I love playing with,
hold on.
I love.
Go ahead.
That's that question.
You have, okay.
So, all right, the last question,
before we get into our tier talk,
it's time for the twisted question of the day.
Keep it twisted with smooth,
refreshing twisted tea,
the hard iced tea that's perfect for parties,
a bar with your buddies or game day.
Grab a twisted today.
Foster, one of the more twisted stories from one of your teammates,
specifically James Winston.
Do you have any good James Winston stories?
You know, he just kind of made the news for his bow fishing antics.
James is an unbelievable teammate.
I haven't even gotten to spend all that much time with him.
I really, really am looking forward to it.
My most recent, just like cue of what James was for me, we got in the huddle to call Take a Knee at the end of the game.
Right.
And we go and that's, that was our situation for the day.
It was like the first day.
We go on to, we go on to do Take a Knee.
And mind you, I don't really know the formations all that well or the play calls.
But like, I'm fucking studied.
I'm on the script.
I like, I know everything where it's supposed to be.
It's like, are you sure that play?
Are you sure one in 37?
Bob here? No, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like a naked. And they're like, anyway,
we go to fucking take a knee, the best playing football, right? Hey, let's call I ride tight,
or green right tight take a knee, right? James gets in there and I fucking, for the life,
you can't tell you what he said. But it was, it was something like, it was something like,
all right, boys, big dub up. Let's go get this bitch on three.
I was like, what the fuck?
And so I line up and like, oh, like we just take a knee.
It's not a big fucking deal, right?
And so I'm jogging off the field.
And one of my tight end buddies, Lucas Crowell comes up and he's like, what the fuck did he just call?
And so I was confused.
I'm still fucking confused, J-M-O.
I have no idea what you said.
It was just, it was so funny, though, that he just takes something so small and just,
he always interject so much personality into everything that he does.
Yeah.
I can't wait to go through a full fucking roller coaster of a season with him.
It's going to be awesome.
It's got to be cool that you and then DC are back to.
It's very cool.
It's an unbelievable situation.
Just walking around and especially just knowing who DC is and his character and you've gotten a good taste of that too.
he's a he's a special guy yeah yeah he's a special guy and having a familiar face in the locker
room is was awesome for me especially for the first week showing up yeah yeah let's dive in boys
you ready yeah yeah yeah your talk are we doing what what do we choose here do we choose the
one year wonders in sports are we choosing the old iPhone games i have old iPhone games on my phone
that's that's it's fine i'm ready for that i'm ready for that i'm ready to have some old iPhone games
I'm ready.
Do you have a list?
We interrupt this episode.
Before we get to the tier talk, summer Fridays are a thing of the past, boys.
Here's how we need to start thinking.
It's Friday, Rye Day.
You get out of work, you grab whiskey.
You get out of work, you grab whiskey.
We have three different whiskeys here.
Whistlepig, piggyback, 100% rye.
Let me see if I'm grabbing the right bottle.
Age six years made with 100% rye, bold spice forward perfect for maple old fashions.
This rye is the best in the game.
Whistlepig is the most credible rye brand out there.
But they've also dipped their toes into some piggyback 100-proof bourbon.
That's their tenure.
Show them the bussing with the boys.
The busing with the boys bourbon.
For Tennessee boys only, honestly, it's for everybody.
But we're in Tennessee right now.
Age six years, 100-proof, shines and sour and citrus cocktails.
Piggyback, rise, better half.
Also with the boys.
Now, this big dog right here, the whistle pick tenure, this is the one you, obviously,
we want you to get your hands on that bus with the boys.
But you want that.
You want that rye.
You want that best rye in the game.
I'm also a big fan of the 12-year.
But they're Whistlepig, 10-year rye.
The one that started Whistlepick, the one that started the foundation up in the hills of Vermont, the original disruptor in the game.
Age 10 years, 100-proof as well.
Grab yourself a bottle with a pig whiskey and kiss your workday goodbye this summer rye day.
Here is the Tier Talk.
Oh, I do get an honorable mention.
It's optional.
Like when we had Lenny on, he had a tier three, a tier-tree.
there was no tier one.
He said, no, I don't got a one.
Yeah, yeah, I get that.
No, I get that.
I understand.
Yeah, what a character.
I fucking, I, do you guys, you guys like Leonard?
Yes.
He's fucking, he's unbelievable.
He's a, I mean, from a personality standpoint, he's fucking hilarious.
And he always has been.
But, I mean, once you really just kind of get to know him, he's, oh, dude, he's so
fucking cool.
I love Leonard.
Bro, you know, love his accent, too.
His personality.
He's swag behind it.
Just everything, bro.
And he's, like, dude, and from, like, from a very young age, he was slated to be, like, the guy.
Right?
He was going to be it.
And he was going to be like.
Bring balance to the force.
In a weird way, yeah.
Yeah.
Like, he was supposed to be it.
Like, when you played, like, when you played, when you played St.
Og, and mind you, San Ag had a bunch of good players.
But when you played St.Og, like, you were playing against Leonard Four Nett.
And, like, they were going to do some creativity.
crazy shit, but that motherfucker was going to have a ball in it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was cool.
It was a great time.
Shout out Lenny.
All right.
So you should go first then.
Does the back of the bus have a list?
Would you guys like to jump in on this?
Okay.
Fucking freaks.
All right.
Anyway, I think the number one iPhone game.
Whoa.
Start a three.
Start a three?
Start your honorable mention.
Sorry.
Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
All right.
So my, my, my,
honorable mention is going to be jetpack joyride.
I don't know if any of you are familiar with that,
but that's all,
that was a fucking tremendous game.
It was a really good game.
You guys are looking at me like you,
like,
no,
I don't know.
I'm out of my element.
No idea.
That's fine.
Jetpack joyride.
For those people who had it,
it was a fire game.
And,
uh,
anyway,
well,
that's,
that's the honorable mention.
Okay.
We'll go,
we'll go for me,
uh,
number three,
going back was probably
it was probably doodle jump
was a tremendous game
on it was for me
I just always had a lot of fun playing it
doodle jump was probably number three
and I also
logged a ton of hours
on words with friends
that'd probably be
that'd probably be my number two
words with friends was fucking awesome
awesome.
It was a great game.
Well, no, they got fucking wordle now
and a bunch of other different
fucking things. Anyway,
number one, and there's,
in my opinion, there's no way
there could be anything else that was number one.
It's got to be
Angry Birds.
It's got to be, it's got to be Angry Birds.
I understand like it's got a fucking movie.
It leveraged Angry Birds into
into different movies. It's got four different
And it's an unbelievable game.
It is a fun game.
Right from the very beginning, it was an unbelievable game.
Yeah, it is a great game.
I think, you know, your list.
Are you aware that we all go around the room now and say one word,
how I feel about your list?
No, but I'm excited for that.
I'd like to do a second honorable mention.
I'm really, I'm breaking.
I had one that I had one that I had one that I had remembered that I really wanted,
that would have replaced words with friends.
But I stand by words with friends.
I stand by it.
It's a great game.
were with friends down to honorable mention and put this boy up a three.
It's a great game.
But fucking, bro,
Flappy Bird was so good that they had to fucking...
That's what Big Head said back there.
That they had to shut it down because something happened outside of the realm of the
Flappy Bird Network.
But they had to shut it down.
That's at least what I heard why they shut it down.
What was the reason?
Well, someone passed away for not...
Someone might have committed suicide.
Oh, no shit.
And a Flappy Bird...
in a related to Flappy Bird.
Wow.
I don't know.
That was something that I heard back in,
back whenever Flapy Bird came out,
and I was unaware of,
oh, that person might have killed the other person.
Yeah.
Not sure.
Don't claim to know.
I heard this when I was young.
Yeah.
Anyway.
Please do not quote me.
Yeah.
Okay.
So yeah, I go,
I go angry birds.
And I can't have fucking,
I can't have fucking two different bird games as one and two.
Now, fuck that.
I'm sticking with words with friends.
Doodle Jump at
Doodle Jump at 3 was a fucking awesome game.
And I know some of the games
you guys are gonna say,
but I promise they're not that great.
And then...
You don't know some of the games.
No, no, I do.
No, I do.
And then honorable mention was whatever the fuck I said.
Thank you.
Appreciate it.
Good talk.
Thanks.
You know, and your last time you were here,
the list you guys had,
Will had two football movies.
You can absolutely have two.
No, I'm good.
No, I...
Just giving you the ad if you want it.
Mm.
Give me if you want it, brother.
Can we do the word now?
Yeah, Garrett.
Gamer.
Solid.
Steven's first word.
Best friends.
Oh, wow.
Bird.
Impeccable.
Well-versed.
Veteran.
That means a lot.
That means a lot.
That means a lot.
And you got the Fred's tea on.
That means a lot.
Do we go?
Would you like to go?
Yeah, I mean, I'll go.
Go ahead, brother.
So I wasn't a big iPhone game guy.
I wanted to get that in.
insurance policy out before I go any further.
I wanted you.
And I've got the mic, boy, so I can.
My tier three is going to go to an OG.
You're running away from those crazy monkeys the whole time.
It's going to be Temple Run.
Temporon's a good one, collecting the coins, moving back and forth,
your sliding, you're jumping, you're moving all the place, get through the elements.
Temple runs a solid fucking game.
My Tier 2 is the game I still play to this day.
Well, is it classic iPhone games?
Or can be an iPhone game
I could almost
I know what you're
I know what you're gonna say
What am I say?
You're gonna say clash of clans
No
Wow
Idiot
No
Fucking dumb fuck
You are a gamer
Yeah you're a gamer
Yeah you're an absolute gamer
Maybe
You play Super Smash Brothers
On Nintendo 64
I have
You're gonna get
Um
I'm okay
I was better on
I was better on
I was better on
I was better on melee
All right
Um
my tier two
is going to
kind of be contradictory
to everything I've said
about this sport
but ultimate golf
it is a game
you can play with your friends
play against each other
you go hold to hole
it's fun
there's tournaments
when did that come out
20
like when did you get into it big
oh a year ago
okay
and I'm pretty
I'm pretty solid
what did you say
no then they were talking
about super stick man golf
which is also another
which is another good game
Okay, yeah. I never...
No, good. That's... No.
But I probably invested over $500 in that game.
Getting better clubs and balls.
Like, I...
When I'm in, brother, I'm in.
I get it. No, I get it. I get it.
I'm going to be honest with you, $500 is a load number.
I definitely was going hard.
Just trying to make myself look a little better.
I play FIFA Ultimate Team.
Yeah.
I bought a pack.
I bought a pack since.
It's been an ugly journey.
Yeah.
How much one have you put into this FIFA?
Not, not all that much.
As much as on your wrist?
Hopefully not.
Yeah. Oh, but it's maybe.
Hopefully not.
Yeah.
Okay.
Fair enough.
No, I doubt it.
Hopefully.
And my tier one is going to go to a game called Smurf Village.
Me and the boy, Jake Ryan, shout out Jake Ryan.
We would play this game.
And essentially, you start out with a plot of land.
You can build houses.
There's some farming.
You'd take actual time.
If I wanted to plant watermelons, it would legitimately take 12 hours to make,
but you get more money that way.
And you can obviously acquire more things.
So I legit would set timers on my phone like 2 a.m.
To make sure I could harvest my watermelon and put something else out there and hurry.
Yeah.
Back and forth.
I had a pretty nice fucking setup out there.
Very well put together game.
I love that game.
I love it.
I should probably bring it back, actually.
That's my teardt.
Not listening.
Yeah.
Interesting.
Variety.
Unique.
We are best friends.
Don't say it like that.
Hyphenated, financially invested.
Adolescence.
Oh, I have one.
I'm like.
I have one.
Sure.
That went better than expected.
That went better than expected for me.
So I'll take it, boys.
Thank you.
You guys got a license plate over there with thick on it or something that says thick.
A thick body wash from DuCannon.
Oh, nice.
Yeah.
I was more thick and thick brain.
Yeah.
No.
That was good.
Playing things with friends, though, playing things with friends like that where you got, no, I totally get that.
And that's what makes it fun, though.
Yeah.
Like you having the timers and you having that, like, how long ago was that?
That was 20, 2012, 2011, yeah.
Having those, like, suppressed but kind of burned memories.
That's the part of the fun, the old.
And I have two, I feel like all those games with timing, like there's all those games where you got to wait for something to get hatched or grown or built or whatnot.
I feel like a lot of that, too, is in, like, the college years, like,
Like when you're in the training room and you're just bored as fuck.
As trying to tap in.
Yeah.
As much pretend you're like, fuck, now I got a, what can I do next in the training room?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But yeah, you're at the bar.
It's 3 a.m.
You're like, holy fuck.
My cantaloupes.
Yeah.
Like, yeah, I forgot to check on my cantaloupes.
Oh, shit.
I'd be on the bar doing that.
I'm making sure.
Yeah, yeah.
My favorite, like, time invested game like that was when they came out with, like,
Jurassic Park, like, building the little world.
Well, you can, I didn't even know that existed.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But so it's hard because you just get so impatient.
But anyways, my honorable mention is going to go to your one, Angry Birds.
I feel like that's not necessarily my generation.
You know what I mean?
I feel like that was kind of a later developed.
I wanted to pick a few games that like, you know, some OG games.
Sure, you're different.
Yeah, my tier three is going to be an interesting one.
And I would be fascinated.
I would be surprised if anybody has heard of this game.
because it's only, it was only on the iPhone one,
and you could only jail,
you had the back,
when you could jailbreak your phone,
you could get this game and get more levels
by jailbreaking even farther when you got on the,
you know, the websites and shit like that.
Shout out to Nick Hallett,
who always got us the newest levels.
But it goes to IDigger.
You got to go through all these levels
and you're racing against creatures underground,
you're trying to build stuff out,
you're trying to move objects.
IDigger was the first iPhone game.
we all fell in love with
shout out North County High School
back at North County when we were
yeah
I don't know if you're with me
yes sir
he'll be back one day
um
tier two
is going to go to
uh Kingdom Rush
Kingdom Rush any type of tower defense game
like when being in the train room
and everything else I loved all the tower defense
games but Kingdom Rush was the first one
I fell in love with like building
up, you know, all of your armory, your defense, your fucking, you know, your attackers, like
getting leveling up to three levels, all that stuff.
All the tower defense games, I was obsessed with those.
And my tier one, my tier one, fun run.
Fun run back in like 2012, 11, 13 era.
Fun run decided lineups in one of my boys' weddings.
because he couldn't decide how he wanted to label us.
John Wigger, shot at the boy John Wigger.
He didn't want to choose out of the four of us
how he's going to put us in line so we all had to play Fun Run.
Another one, the boys wanted a Nebraska game jersey,
so I made him play Fun Run to see who would get the Nebraska Game Jersey.
But Fun Run in the Lock Room with Friends,
because that was multiplayer where you had these four fucking little,
what are they even called?
Like these little critters, bro.
What?
Yeah.
Yeah, little animals, different colored.
And you're just...
Grusome, though.
Yeah.
A little South Park critters.
Like, yeah, yeah.
Like, like, for the Christmas special.
Yeah.
And that one, like, you know,
you always wanted the boys to tap in into the lobby and like,
yo, hey, we're all in.
All right, let's start this thing up.
And it would be fun runs by number one, man.
That was a blast back when that was out.
It was only, like, connectivity problems were the only thing that really held that
game back for me.
Yeah.
I loved it.
I thought it was a fucking blast.
Yeah.
Yeah, we'd play for hours.
There's another game, too, like in training camp,
when I would try and kill time in between meetings and everything else.
Me, in one of my boys, Matt May, we'd sit in like this,
in one of like the study hall rooms where nobody could, nobody could find us.
And there's like this, there's this shark game where you get bigger as you eat.
Oh, yeah, I play that water.
I played that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we were fucking into that game.
Man, that should have probably, you know what?
That's going to be honorable mention.
taking out angry birds.
Ooh.
That's all right.
I got to figure out what it's called.
But yeah,
we played that one.
We love that one,
I remember playing that too
because you started as a small shark,
a little mako.
Yeah.
And a lot of hazards out there.
Yeah,
a lot of hazards.
A lot of hazards.
A lot of hazards.
When you become like a megaladon?
Yeah.
I think it's like the last one,
right?
When you figure out of, like,
yo, how are you figuring that out?
You know,
just a little different.
Mess.
His thumb's a little different.
Yeah.
You got the wig.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You just look, you got loose thumb.
I got the wiggle thumb.
Yeah.
I just don't know.
Yeah, that's good.
But that's my tear talk.
Yeah.
Old head.
Thumb.
God damn it.
Boredom.
Vintage.
Almost.
I win.
Saved.
With Fun Run?
Sure was.
Absolutely.
It was saved with Fun Run.
That's okay.
That's okay.
Did you guys play?
No way.
You guys play Madden Mobile when it first came out?
Madden.
Came out on iOS.
Madden Mobile.
Yeah.
Fucking unbelievable game.
That was, I guess it just wasn't good.
Telling you, it was crazy fun for that one year that it came out.
Did you ever play the ESPN linebacker game?
You meet the app yourself?
Was that a really?
Yeah, I was going to say, was that like a, was that a fever dream?
There was a linebacker game and your boy, I was fucking like a top 50 in the world score at one point.
One of my.
In a predator game.
There's a predator game out too.
That was kind of a one hit one.
I don't think so.
I played a, uh,
Or my buddy back in college, my old, one of my old college roommates was like got up to number four in like NCAA 14 online mode.
He was fucking unbelievable.
Really?
He was unconscious.
What do you play with?
I think he, I, he might have played with A&M, but he had like a custom playbook, like OU's playbook or something.
I'm not sure.
He was, he was unconscious.
And like we all bought like Xbox 360s and we all bought.
bought NCAA 14 and we had like, we had 12 guys playing a connected dynasty mode.
And I'm not shitting you.
Some of my funnest times, like playing video games was with those guys.
Dude, 1,000% when my earlier years of Washington, we had a Madden League.
But Madden 15 was my, was the, when I was, that was my best year of Madden because I'd
stop playing, I think, after 16.
But I got as high as 2.3% in the ranking.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
bro online, but we had a league with a lot of us, and those were, those are some of the best times.
Probably the longest tenured game I played with a squad was also Rainbow Six.
Rainbow, yeah, yeah.
Rainbow Six was the good old days.
I tried getting the boys on Rainbow Six.
Yeah, you did.
I think, I mean, you can't be risk.
I think that's the most important.
Yeah, I mean, risk is awesome, but there's something about like PubG, were you big on PubG or were you more Fortnite?
I feel like you were probably a Fortnite guy.
I came out, I got Fortnite, and this is.
gonna sound. What a fucking weird flex for me.
I got Fortnite initially before the Battle Royale
even was like a big thing.
And it was just like the campaign mode.
Did you know that fucking Fortnite had a campaign mode before?
No, man.
Like you could get on with three of your buddies.
And you could, you literally built up your fort and you defended it against zombies.
It was basically like just a zombie hoard defense, like basically a tower defense game.
Yeah.
Those are fun.
Remember Call Duty, the first zombies that came out?
That's the only Call of Duty I played.
God, bro.
Crazy.
Crazy.
The zombies, right?
Dude.
It was coming out around holiday season, too.
So Thanksgiving Christmas, like, you're just, you're in a bunk around with the boys.
It was fucking good, dude.
Tell the girls, you got stuff going on.
I remember getting to, like, dude, you get to new levels.
You'd be like, oh, I got the dogs.
Yeah.
There are dogs.
Oh, my God.
Yes.
You know, all of a sudden, you're getting, like, you're getting motherfucked.
And you have no idea from what, like, you're looking for a zombie.
But all of a sudden, there's a fucking demon dog.
Yeah, it's so cool.
And that's, too, like, you would try and search.
like message boards to figure out like what little oh yeah yeah all i'll just the little easter lay eggs are
on each level hunting down reddit trying to figure out what the fuck is going on yeah yeah it's good on
video games i know we've already done that but yeah yeah we could do video games again one day but i think
it's fun to take this trip down memory lane right here that's good those are some great it's a great it's a great
topic yeah yeah yeah you saved it saved it with fun run but it's good though it's like you don't
save it's it no when i like i don't know if anybody out there knows if i digger
But it's the ones you don't, yeah, it's the ones you don't remember, right?
Like someone listening might have that repressed memory.
They're like, oh, my God.
Yeah, if there's an OG iPhone, like the very first generation,
like Nick and I would even search on the later iPhones if somebody on a message board had created it somewhere else that we can get it back on.
Yeah.
It's a fucking blast from the past.
It's good stuff.
Good stuff, boys.
This is a good pot.
Hey, thank you for fucking talking about all that.
Thanks, guys.
I know you haven't done it much out there.
So, yeah.
I appreciate it.
Yeah, man.
No, this was a good opportunity.
And, you know, obviously coming on and shooting the show with you guys is, it's fun.
I always enjoy it.
Good.
Good.
It's good.
It's good.
You're handsomer in person.
Thank you.
Yeah, sure.
I appreciate that.
Yeah, no problem.
He is a handsome cat.
Yeah.
All right.
Great.
I don't know what to do down.
Subscribe.
Leave comments.
That's what you do.
Big hugs, tiny kisses.
Thanks, guys.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just
contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because
we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but,
you know, tired and sick. Tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite, unhumored me with Robert Smyl
friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band
with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
