Ladies gentlemen, welcome to another episode of the locker room.
If you're new here, if you've stumbled upon this show,
this is a college football gambling show with myself, Will Compton
and the Commissioner of College Football.
Josh Pay, do us a favor.
It's free, subscribe, unsubscribe, resubscribe.
Why in that order?
Because when you do that, hacks the algorithm,
and it helps us get in front of more faces that might not be familiar with us.
The games we're talking about today.
BYU, Iowa State.
BYU is undefeated right now.
Texas at Mississippi State.
Texas A&M, also undefeated.
At LSU, Nightgame, Death Valley.
Ole Miss, Oklahoma,
Missou at Vandy.
College game days there as well.
Now, let's take a look if you,
this is the first time.
These are our standings right now.
Will Compton shaves his head.
What happens?
He is now leading the pack
at a beautiful 500.
He's 21 and 21.
He went three and two last week.
Myself and the commissioner,
two and three.
Not a lot to get alarmed about
just yet.
However,
Separation Saturday.
We talked about last week,
not a whole lot of separation.
This is the week.
Separation Saturday happens.
Bake hugs, time kisses.
Let's have a hell of a show.
This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Winning on Clay is an art. The rallies are relentless.
And at the French Open, only the toughest survive.
I'd know. I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the biggest
matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris.
She's an outsider to win the French win.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lerabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now,
and I actually can win on any surface.
Listen to the Renee Stub's tennis podcast on the Iheart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on,
a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets,
a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know.
Is somebody coming after me?

They all boosted their winnings using the boosting with the boys college football profit boost token.
Every single week, Fandle gives everybody a profit boost token to use on any college football Saturday bet.
That's spreads, that's money lines.
And that's what wild parley is like this one.

You got it.
This person, sometimes with the money.
Yeah, we're live, bro.
Keep rolling.
I just keep.
This person wagered $10 on a six-leg parlay at plus $1,136,878 odds.

Gentlemen, welcome to the show.
Head to fanduil.com forward slash busting to gear up on the weekend.
Gentlemen, welcome to the show.
Welcome to the show.
Welcome to the show.
Will right there.
It's all good.
We'll head to fanduel.com forward slash bushing to gear up for the weekend.
I thought that just meant like you will head there.
Yeah, we will head there.
We will head there.
We will head there.
We will head there.
Let's get into the show.
Yeah, there's a lot of chaos right now on the internet.
Ton.
With this man right here.
Josh Bates are known to stir up the pot a little bit.
The J.P. Poll put together by, you guess.
to Josh Pate.
Josh Pate puts these polls together himself.
He handcrafts him.
He doesn't use a method.
It's like this is his opinion.
And right now he's got, if you look at his JP poll week nine edition,
BYU just beat Utah.
Utah, he's got Utah 16 in the top 20.
BYU's not on it.
He's got Texas and Oklahoma ahead of Mizzou.
Yeah, what's the question?
The question is, where does your brain go when you're putting these lists together?
Well, my brain goes to the model.
First off, as the model puts it together.
Secondly, now you know better than this.
You're the smart kid in the class that's acting dumb.
You know what that's based on.
What is it based on?
J.P. Pole, what is it based on?
Not rankings. It's power rating.
What is power rating based on?
Exactly.
Who would be favored on a neutral field?
So let's go to the Utah, Brigham Young.
First off, a ton of BYU fans came at me because of you last week.
Me?
Yes.
And tried to tell me, American Prime Evil, is not even
based on real life. They just called it fiction. That's exactly. That's crazy. All right. So that's
number one reason why they belong above Utah according to you. Hey, but just for the record, you did see
last week on the show American Prime Ebel is fact and that is a perfect representation of
Brigham Young and that religion. That's why I picked Utah. Got you. Okay, keep going. More so
Brigham Young than the religion itself. Yeah. I want it to be noted. Secondly, correct me if I'm wrong.
We picked this game last week. Was Utah favored by three and a half at Brigham Young?
Yes.
Yes, they were.
That implies about a six to a six and a half point gap on a neutral field, right?
Yes.
All right.
The game was a three-point game.
Do we really believe in odds makers land, in Fandul land,
that that shifted their perception of those teams a solid touchdown
to where BYU would now be favored over Utah if they played this week?
The answer is no, correct?
No.
Of course they wouldn't.
So they still belong above Utah or Brigham Young because they'd still be favored against them if they played today.
that's the end.
And look, I know it's never our fault.
Like we picked that game.
We actually did pick that game.
When you watch that game, Utah is, what, one for five on fourth down?
Oh, that's not one.
Eight plays turnover on downs.
Nine play drive turnover on downs.
Ten play drive turnover on downs.
12 play drive turnover on downs.
No points.
We get points there like that.
Utah wins that game.
Well, we're going to talk about BYU and I would stay here in a second,
but we did have that game.
pegged. We did what we were supposed to do. Those kids did not do what they were supposed to do.
Right. And they screwed it up. Yeah. They made this show look bad. We were on the right side.
Yeah, we were. What are your thoughts on that rivalry being called the Holy War? Yeah. And both schools wearing all red and all blue.
I love the name Holy War. Yeah. I'm not a strong lean either way on color of uniforms. Okay.
But I will roll with whatever anyone wants to roll with there. I just think it's very important to note. I'm not sure I point. I point. I'm not sure I point. I'm not. I'm not sure I point. I'm
I wanted this out last week.
I think I did at one point.
Anyway, let me reiterate,
because we've got to call these people out.
You can't let hall monitors run a sport.
And there are certain hall monitor types
behind the scenes in college football
that want to do away with the name Holy War.
Kind of like they want to do away with
Formageddon,
kind of like they tried to do away
with world's largest outdoor cocktail party.
Red River Shootout has gone the way
of the hall monitor.
Civil War?
Yeah, civil war.
May not even exist as a game period
for too much longer,
so we can't lose the Holy War.
You know the power you get
when you are the hall monitor, though, or the line leader.
Yeah, the only power you'll ever have in life.
Like, you do have some power.
The tradeoff is you'll never elevate above Hall Monitor in life.
So you've got to exercise that power,
and that's how College Football Hall monitors exercise power.
They take away great rivalry names,
and they go sell a watered down rivalry name
to some third-party advertiser
and slap the logo on the field and everyone hates it.
I do.
Everybody watching the show, we appreciate you guys being here.
If you are watching and you're not subscribed, please make sure that you are subscribed.
I want everybody to know that I am, if you guys want to join me on Boycotting Josh Page Show.
Oh, my goodness.
I saw the Sarah McLaughlin special.
Glockland.
Sarah McLaughlin special with Nebraska.
And that's where I kind of had to draw a line in the sand because you sat here preseason.
You claimed yourself to be the number one Nebraska guy in Nashville.
And so when I saw that, number one, I thought it was fraudulent when you were doing that in the beginning.
and it was just trying to pour into this psyche that we have going on.
And I thought you were a foxhole guy.
But that moment when I saw you drop that clip, I no longer feel like you're a foxhole guy with me.
Yeah.
I feel like we were in the foxhole and we died Friday night.
No.
That's what I feel like.
I feel like PJ Fleck found the foxhole.
And PJ Fleck went both sides of the foxhole.
Now that happened.
I know I'm dead.
But we're not dead.
I know I'm dead.
you don't know you're dead
like one of several great movies that Hollywood has produced
he doesn't know that he's dead
I know I'm dead
and so I'll ask you
this boycott is hurting me
the loss hurt me the boycott's hurting me
it's affecting my bottom line
okay I need you
I need you're gonna see and you're gonna feel this hit to your show
but I want to ask you on the Sarah McGlachlan
Sash Loflin special
did I lie
all I did was read a stat sheet
he didn't lie but all the games that are out there
all the teams that could have had the Sarah McLaughlin special.
Could have been Nutmire with L.S.
Yeah, could have been Nuttmire.
It could have been, Arnheimer with Illinois.
Yes.
But no. I wanted to choose.
You wanted just to pour salt in the wound to Husker Nation.
But I didn't lie.
I'm trying to wrap my head around.
I'm stuck on you're saying we're dead.
I'm dead.
That's the one that's got me spiced up right now.
So we started with something that got you spiced up and you realized there's another ingredient
There's another.
That's double spicy.
Yeah, there's another double spice.
This has got a little too much.
Yeah.
You know.
This is Woody talking to Buzz Light.
You're trying to tell him he's a toy.
You're a Woody.
That's what this is right now.
You know we have.
These are two toys on the bed having an argument.
And I'm the little boy in the other hallway,
waiting for my birthday to start.
I'm the guy where the helmet goes up.
Like, we had a tight rope.
We had a tight rope.
We had to walk and we fell.
It's a fucking dot on face.
just stayed in there.
Yeah.
I'm the pig.
I'm kind of just there for
to hang out every once in a while
and say I have one liner.
So go ahead, guys.
We fell off the tightrope.
Can we fell?
We fell.
We fell off the tightrope.
We got hit in the mouth.
We got hit in the mouth.
But you get right against Northwestern, right?
Yes.
Definitely.
You got to be pissed off in that facility.
Everything that I've seen,
we're right where we need to be going into this game.
It is a moment.
This is the most important week of our year.
Are we really right where we need to be?
I think the way I see the culture and the way I see the team responding at the moment,
you just hope the product reflects what you feel when you watch everything kind of unfold throughout the week.
The rules on the stand, when Butler's on the stand, with Raola, Luke, all the players talking,
I feel like I know what that feels like.
Here's my concern.
I've got 10 fingers and I only need six of them to count how many.
points we scored at Minnesota.
Yeah.
That's a problem.
I really don't feel like we're where we need to be.
I know, I know.
He's Dylan Stewart standing over me right now.
Like, just, he made a good play.
He made a great play, but why you got to sit there and empty the clip on my chest?
I hope you're right.
I hope I am too, because I'm taking them in our parlay this week.
I was going to say I have the parlay here.
I know there's an odd time to start the parlay for the show,
but since we're already talking about one of the teams on the parlay,
should we just quickly say our parles before we get to these games?
Quickly say the buss and with the boys parlay.
That would be the boys, are you guys comfortable?
Are you okay with that?
I know it's a little bit of a change the show.
I'm going to San Diego State.
They're playing Fresno State, minus two and a half.
This is the Battle of the old oil camp.
At Fresno.
What you're seeing with these two ball clubs?
It's a historic rivalry.
This is a historic rivalry.
started in 1931.
I saw, I was looking for parlayes,
I saw that this is actually a rivalry game
and it's like the old oil can,
it's a trophy game,
and I thought I needed to be a part of this.
That's my answer.
You went in on that action.
Don't know any players.
SDSU, Aztecs,
Darren Mugi went there,
high school teammate, onward.
You ever think to yourself,
let's take myself back to 1931.
Yeah.
America is in the throes of the Great Depression.
Yeah.
And somewhere out in California,
California, someone in San Diego and someone in Fresno said, we've got some colleges.
This country needs a rivalry right now.
Hell yeah.
Name it after an oil drum and we're still going to be in poverty for another decade as a country,
but this begins the resurgence.
In other words, we're right where we need to be.
When everything else fails, lean on the rivalry games.
Yeah.
That's what makes America great.
Yeah, I'm taking Nebraska minus seven and a half.
Now, I was hoping for a notepad and a pen
And I was going to take Clum's glasses
And sit here and talk to you guys about what just transpired
Yesterday
You were talking about how Northwestern
And Northwestern's a good ball club
Sure
The casual fan is going to look at the logo
And be like, bad team
But I hear you
Talking about Northwestern
Talking to all the guys about Northwestern
And then I get a text from Clump at 11 o'clock at night
Belling, hey, we still need your parley pick
This is who, this is who Pate's got
This is who Will's got
and you took Nebraska.
How did you get to, I'm nervous about Nebraska to,
they're covering seven and a half?
I'm not nervous about Nebraska.
Okay.
My thought, all of my thoughts that come to my head
when I saw what happened on Friday night
is we got our ass whooped against Minnesota.
They beat her ass.
They ran it down our throat in the second half.
And you saw, you sit there and you were watching the game
and the nerves are more of, we're five and two,
we were also at this spot last year.
We've been at this spot, you know, a couple different years,
but people are out there questioning
if Nebraska has actually taken a step in the rule year three era.
And so what I've seen from this team is we won,
we were three and one going into Minnesota with one score games,
which is, again, if you look at if the absolute sickos of Nebraska
know how important this new standard and culture,
how it's all coming together,
important those wins are whether or not you sit there and argue and you can argue that it's
Michigan State and it's Maryland. Maryland's a tough team. It kind of struggle in October. Michigan
State kind of seems like they're dying now. They were spicy for a second. So for me, I sit there
and watch it and I see the way we got beat on Friday night. And what my mentality goes to is,
and you hear it from everybody talking, I want to say Luke the tight end, we thought we were going to,
you know, we're going to go in there like we're, we're, we're, we're,
We're performing, it was like for a show or entertainment, like we're going to beat this team.
We weren't prepared for a 60-minute fight.
So that goes into line with my thought process of maybe the boys were feeling themselves a little bit going into this game.
Because, again, they were three and one, three-one score games that they've won.
They've won well.
They've played better in the second half when they have those lapses in the middle of the game.
They figured it out, which again, in the past, Nebraska's found a way to kind of soil it, kind of just pissed down their leg.
And so my thought process going into this game, it's not nervous.
that we can't handle this team.
It's you can't walk in against Northwestern
with the same mentality and the same attitude
that you had against Minnesota.
Because Luke and everybody else is right.
Like you have to prepare,
Vrable would tell us all the time.
Whenever we win a game that nationally,
national media wise,
we shouldn't have won and we win.
We come in and play down to an opponent
who's inferior to us.
And then we end up getting beat.
And Vrae would sit up there and say,
guys, I've told you all year long,
we can't just show up
and beat a team because we think we have a better roster than them.
And I think it's the same exact thing with Nebraska.
I think the guys have had their head down.
And it's just get back to fucking work because we're not just going to walk out there
and win because we have better weapons on the outside.
We had the number one past defense in the country at one point.
Like you can't believe that hype because you're going to have to put it on film each
and every week.
And people are out there now questioning whether we've taken a step
and each kid in that locker room or each guy in that locker room
and everybody on that staff, because you could feel it in all the pressers.
They know to a man that we've all been challenged.
And so to me, when you go out there against Northwestern on Saturday morning, what's this,
this is what I needed.
Keep going.
No, you're rolling.
Keep going.
You're doing.
I looked over at Payton check his temperature.
We ended up catching eyes at the same time.
I think we both are the exact same thing.
But it's legitimately, when you walk out there on Saturday morning, this team, everybody else,
you know, the poison's been around our shop.
I talk about this game with this urgency.
And Cooper Comstock sitting there, it's like, oh, it's Northwestern, you guys are going to handle this team.
And it's like, no, that's the fucking mentality that's got to be out.
That's got to be gone because this team is, they're five and two.
They're two losses.
Oregon, they lost by 20 at Oregon.
It was close in the first half.
And then they lost to Tulane, who that head coach has been in every conversation for a job, for a promotional job.
And they lost a two lane in week one.
Every other game Northwestern's handled.
You can talk about, oh, Penn State's down.
They, you know, they died against Oregon.
They drop one against UCLA.
You know everybody on that roster was still like, everybody still wants to play well.
They still beat a good roster in Penn State.
Who did they beat last week, 19, nothing Purdue.
Like, this team can do the exact same thing if you don't respect this game and you don't respect the team.
So what my belief is on this Nebraska covering in Nebraska-Mai 7 and a half is we're going into this game,
not only respecting the team, but respecting the game and respecting the work that you have to put in to beat somebody's ass on Saturday.
That's what I'm believing in.
So I'm right with Nebraska
because this is a foxhole game.
Let everybody else, with all the question marks
and everything, that's just the world.
That's what's going to happen.
There's a lot of noise right now around Nebraska.
And it's how you respond this weekend
and I'm going to love the way we respond.
Because I'm going to, I'm there.
I'm with them.
I'm on the fucking team.
That's why I like him, Josh Pay.
This is why I'm happy we started with the weekly part.
Because I don't know if that kind of energy
is there at the end of all five of them.
those games. Here's what we know though. Nebraska's in what conference? The Big Ten.
Nebraska has how many losses right now? Two. If Nebraska wins the remainder of its games,
their record will be. Ten and two. Will a ten and two Big Ten ever be left out of the playoff?
No. Therefore, maybe we're not so dead. So I might need something from you next week. We handle
business. I just... Maybe I come back out. Yeah. I'm just missing a limb. He's a flush for him.
Still room in there for me?
Yeah.
That's how foxholes work.
Hey, guess what?
You come, you go, you come, you go.
That's how foxholes work.
There's always going to be room for you.
That is the greatest.
That is the most insane five minutes of a show I have ever seen.
I quit you.
I quit you.
Well, we're dead.
Well, I'm gone.
But we're going to win this week.
We could still make the playoff.
Can I come back in?
I got you, bro.
I got you.
All right.
And you're taking Arkansas.
Yeah, give me the pigs.
Hugh Freeze is done.
Give me Arkansas.
You're done.
He will lose his job if they lose this game.
Man, I tried jumping on that pick with you too.
Win, you're saying.
Yeah, I'm taking Arkansas.
Yeah, I'm taking Arkansas.
It crossed zero.
Because Arkansas minus one and a half.
It opened Arkansas plus one and a half.
I think Arkansas is going to win.
They've played two competitive games.
They pushed Tennessee.
They pushed A&M last week.
Auburn is, they have.
not quit. Like Auburn's playing hard. They're just not a great team. And they're going to go up there.
Auburn people call Fayetteville, Fayette Nam because of how tough it's been for them to play up there
there over the years. And I think it lives up to its name this week. And then I think before the
planes even back in Lee County, I think you got a lot of smoke around Hugh Free. There's already a lot of
smoke. Right. So I think if they lose this game, then there's probably going to be action down there.
So keep an eye on that. Okay. Is this the first week we've been together or the first time we've been
or since Billy Napier, was that last week?
This is the first time.
This is the first time we've been together since that.
But we assumed it last week.
And that's your boy.
Yeah.
Do we be thinking for sure this is Lane Kiffin?
He's going to Florida?
I think for sure it's his job to turn down.
Really?
Yeah.
I said, and I will maintain this,
I don't know if he has fully made his mind up yet.
Now, there's a difference, as we have said on this show before,
there's a difference in someone theoretically puts a scenario
in front of you and you have a thought versus someone puts an offer on paper in front of you
and you have to actually sign on the dotted line.
So even if he thinks, yeah, I'm probably going to take the job, you don't know until they
put the offer in front of you.
And then you've got an Ole Misses counteroffer.
And then you've weighed in your mind.
How much does legacy matter to me?
Because if he stays in Oxford, he'll win for a long time and they'll name streets after him
and he'll be set for life.
Right. Or there's the fork in the road.
That's one path.
The other path is legacy, I can just go make a new one at Florida.
And maybe he does.
maybe he doesn't, but I really, I think I can win a national title there. I don't know if I can
win one at Ole Miss. Now, the Ole Miss people will say, landscape's changed, man. This is not
15 years ago. There's not a whole lot of separation between these programs. It's just who has
the best NIL structure. And by the way, low key, we've got a better one than Florida. And Florida says,
yeah, but we could back up a brink truck you never could. We just want to harness it to the right
guy. That's a bunch of smoke. You got to clear it. You got to see where your heart's at.
But he's going to have to tell them no before they move on to number two, who I think would be
Eli Drinkwitz who would take the job, I believe.
So it's a very short list.
I don't think they're going to get past one or two names.
Okay.
I agree with you on the structure too.
I was talking to somebody about even A&M like Elko and his name coming up with stuff.
Obviously, we've had the rule conversations as well.
I very much believe that it's like if you're Lane Kiffin and you're out Ole Miss and all those things are laid out and you have all the NIL structure support in the world, it's not like you're making move now for logos because
recruiting and everything else, it's all tied more to money. And if you have your system in place,
you feel good about where you're at and everybody behind you is giving you whatever you need
NIL structure-wise, why would you leave? Why would you leave a program that honestly could
compete year in and year out for a national title? Like at Ole Miss, just to not joke with
the Nebraska stuff, but like an Ole Miss, like a Texas A&M, why would you move from, is there a reason
that Elko would want to move from an A&M when you basically have all this support in the world?
You're in the SEC right now you are showing that you're the number one team in the SEC?
There is no football-related reason why Mike Elko would leave Texas A&M for Penn State.
It would have to be personal preference.
And I know a lot of people have tried to sell on there being an easier path to the playoff in the Big Ten.
First off, you don't know that that's always going to be static.
And secondly, is that really how a competitor is thinking to begin with?
The very nature of the guy who's qualified to be your head coach is that of,
a 1% or a 0.1% alpha competitor.
Those people don't sit around thinking, where's the easiest path possible?
That's not even how those people are wired.
So I don't think that weighs into it.
Now, if he's from the Northeast and he just wants to get back there,
if your wife's family, I'm just making this up,
if your wife's family lives there,
if you prefer cold weather, like that kind of stuff's not football related,
it just happens to work in your favor.
The football related stuff, like A&M's a better job than Penn State.
Yeah.
Not miles better, but it's a better job than
Penn State. Especially because it's A&M's kind of established right now to where you have to go and
fix something. Yeah. And think about this. They've got all the resources in the world, but no one's
ever really harnessed it properly. Like people have harnessed Alabama. People have harness Florida.
Who's really taken Texas A&M? Because it really hasn't been this caliber of job until the last
15 or so years. Like Johnny Mansell changed that place. So A&M post Mansell versus pre-Manzel is two
different things. So anyone who throws out the past 60 years, I don't care about the past 60 years there.
They've been what they are now about the past 10 or 15 years. And they've made poor hires in the
past 10 or 15 years. So you've still got an opportunity all the way in 2025. The sport's been
around a long time. We've gotten all the way to 2025 and no one's legendary name is synonymous
with Texas A&M football, the way that Daryl Royal is in Austin, the way Bo or Woody or whoever,
Bear Bryant, Nick Saban. You could be.
become that at Texas A&M.
Right.
And you're not working from behind the eight ball.
You've got all the resources,
and it's just a wide open frontier,
and you can go stake your claim.
Great point, Josh.
Beautifully said, Josh.
Should we get to some games?
Let's get to some games.
We got our first matchup.
Number 11 team in the country,
BYU, one of six
undefeated teams left.
Traveling to Iowa State.
Iowa State is on a two-game
road losing streak right now.
They dropped their last two games.
Right now, Iowa State is favored at home by two and a half.
The over under on this game is 48.5.
Gentlemen, who'd like to kick this off?
Well, it's a letdown spot, obviously.
You just had a rivalry game if you're Brigham Young.
You've got to go on the road against the team off a buy.
On the downside for Iowa State, they've got several injuries.
Some guys out for the season.
It's the Big 12th.
It is anybody's game any given week.
I think that after those two losses, you talk about, you guys talk about losing a game going into the buy week all the time.
What about losing two games going into the buy?
And those were your first two losses of the season.
And you know now your back's against the wall.
You like a wounded animal.
Love a wounded animal.
Love the wounded.
This is an animal that's been wounded for really three weeks, if you think about it.
It has to get right.
And you just had a big rivalry win.
And now you're going to come all the way across the country to face us.
And we're rested.
and we've got to have it.
And you guys know you can afford to lose.
Iowa State needs it.
Brigham Young just wants it.
And so I'm going to take Iowa State to win the game and cover.
I like it.
Something about Iowa State.
Something the way you talk about that head coach
juices me up,
but I remember week zero across the pond in Ireland,
them going against Kansas State,
Wilcompton's favorite to win the Big 12 at that point.
We didn't know what Kansas State was.
But I fell in love with a quarterback named Rocco Beck,
and I believe in him today.
And I will also be going to Iowa State.
Plus, to get their running back,
Carson Hanson back, and he's got 4.4 yards per carry.
Yeah.
I was up in the air about this game just because you watch Iowa State against Cincinnati a couple weeks ago.
You know, Cincinnati was able to run the ball very well.
BYU is a team that wants to run the football, set up their play action pass, hit you with deep bombs.
But again, when I rattle off, their game against Utah and Utah failing to get points out of all these turnovers on downs.
Like I know BYU 7 and O, Fandle had them preseason.
They're over under on the season with six and a half wins.
They've hit that.
They've had a hell of a year.
They're going into the meat of their schedule now.
And, you know, you sit there, you could sit there and play a game to where they end up seven and five because they're playing who.
They got Texas Tech.
Yep.
TCU, Iowa State, Cincinnati.
I forget who the fifth one is.
I like Iowa State here because you boys know I love wounded animals.
This is a Rocco Beck game.
It's a Rocco Bet game.
This is also a challenge for that second level on Iowa State because you can't allow this team to have success on the ground.
to put yourself in that vulnerable state for those play action shots and the things that
BYU wants to do to win this game. But them going on the road to Iowa State, Iowa State hasn't,
they've only lost one home game since the start of last year. I love Iowa State in this spot,
minus two and a half. They got to come out with urgency. You've got to have such an urgency in this game
to where it's like you guys know when you're back here, you're in college and you're at the bar
and then lights come on at the end when it's closing down. Those lights come.
come on, that urgency to close, to make your moves, it's there.
That's the urgency.
Iowa State has to have this weekend the closes game out.
You're 100% right.
You're spot on with that.
Yeah, the lights come on.
Come on.
You're like, if old girls not buy you around you, you kind of had some flirtations going on.
It's like, oh shit, the lights are on.
It's like two in the morning.
We got to get rolling.
Because you know three, four hours ago, you felt real good about the situation.
But you're like, let me just see what else may be out here.
And then the lights come on.
You're like, where is she?
Yeah.
Where are they?
Yeah.
At this point.
That's the urgency Iowa State's going to have.
Iowa State minus two and a half.
That's fantastic.
Can I ask, there's more of a question for you since you're a big 12 guy.
If BYU loses the game against Utah, Utah capitalizes on those points and not having
turnovers, does this game look differently to you?
Yeah.
Well, the dynamics would.
You're saying if.
BYU lost against Utah.
Oh, yeah.
Now we have two wounded animals we're looking at.
Yeah.
Which wounded animal is more of a pissed off with an animal.
That's American primary.
I wasn't going to say it.
Wow.
This is Big 12 primeval.
Yeah, this is Big 12 primeval.
This is absolutely.
This is a real thing, unlike American primeval, which according to Twitter is not a real thing.
And not only the three weeks of sitting on a loss, which is obviously brutal, but also I would say like if you're going to stay and you're going to have a shot with the Big 12, like this is an absolute must win.
Yeah, have to have it.
Have to have it.
Finally, make a little bolter off.
Michael Boltro.
This whole little...
Superior light beer.
Superior bragging rights.
Yeah, Superior is worth playing for.
Michaela Bolcher, Superior Light Beer.
Let me tell you guys a story real quick.
This card is basically like you
and we'll have a little bit of a competition.
Great, we're going to read the card.
It's fun.
Now, all of a sudden, it's become a legitimate competition
where we fight for a Michelobulcho.
What's the record?
You're five and three against me.
That's the record.
And now Will and I will take raw paper scissors
to a whole new level.
Winner of this gets a Michelobulcho.
Superiors we're playing for.
Superior light beer.
I'm now four and five.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, dude?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called,
Hey Jonas, we invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to a...
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name?
Hey Jonas, guys.
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

The next game, number 22 Texas at Mississippi State, Texas is favored by what?
six and a half points.
Tolling that is 44.5.
I'm not super familiar with Mississippi State.
I know they took Tennessee down to the wire.
I know they got kind of roasted
and destroyed by Texas A&M.
And then you look at Texas and it's like
for whatever reason, they're still in it.
But all year we've been talking trash
about Archmanning or people have been talking about Archmanning.
Yes, people have, not us.
Red River rivalry happens.
They drop one there.
Outside of the sea.
Red River.
Shootout happened.
And outside of Sam Houston,
they kind of Texas struggles
to put 20 points on the board.
Right.
And that's where I lean on Mississippi State
and my baby popper stat.
Mississippi State is undefeated against the spread
when they're dogs by 10 or less.
That is what we're sitting in right now.
And for that reason, I'll be taking Mississippi State.
Wow.
Undefeated?
Undefeated against the spread
when they are dogs
of 10 or less points.
May I ask how far that goes?
goes back. Undefeated.
Ah. That sounds like in all of history.
Undefeated. Have not lost.
Ted or fewer.
You think of yourself, Will A&M, they blew them out.
I'm thinking of, I'm thinking of myself, is this a 2025 stat or is this, does this date back?
Undefeated.
Undefeated. Undefeated.
You say yourself, Texas is going to have a hard time putting up more than 20 points a game.
Their defense is a good.
Their defense is elite.
they kind of find a way they do a good job of getting explosives.
They can be sneaky in the run game.
Like, undefeated.
But Texas's defense is elite.
I don't think Mississippi State will be able to move the ball.
They're towards the bottom in rush defense.
And I know we've had our question marks.
You've challenged this running game at Texas.
I think Texas will be able to run the football against this team.
It is six and a half points.
Got a boy right here.
He's off today.
But this.
This is a Texas offense game right here.
This is where it comes alive.
This is where you start to, all right, maybe Texas is going to compete for this SEC championship.
This is Texas minus six and a half.
Were you thinking that last week if you know we didn't talk about the game versus Kentucky?
Yeah.
Thinking this is a Texas offense that comes alive this week.
Yeah.
If we talked about that game last week, you would have probably heard the same shit out of my mouth.
Because the thing I get into is like if we're going to look at some,
of these games and we're going to there's one specific game i'm kind of looking at we'll talk about
in the next one or two is a lot of people are like this is when the offense gets going this is when
it's like we're i know we're more than halfway through people have been battle tested this is not
week one where they played a really good defense but they're playing it's like we kind of know
what teams are at this point and for me to look at texas and be like this is where they put up 35 points
they're going to cover like i think texas knows they're going to have to play great defense
They're going to have to figure out a way to run the ball, even though they haven't been very good in that situation, and win games.
That's the way they're going to win games.
I really like a pissed off Sark.
Like he's got a meter to where he can kind of be pissed off all the time.
I think the tempo on this game, his meter, his pissed off meter is as high as it can be because now he's getting questioned about being a play caller while he's the head coach.
They're like, hey, don't you have an O.C?
They're kind of questioning him calling plays on offense.
And you can just feel that this is a very much,
this is a pissed off Steve Sarkeesian.
So that mixed with the things that I was saying.
Like I just like a pissed off Sarker.
I love a pissed off Sarker, especially against Mississippi State.
Again, they've had it.
They've had an awesome year.
They're great and explosive plays.
But again, this is an elite Texas defense.
And where Texas, they've kind of struggled everywhere offensively.
Like we talked about the guys that it seemed like they might have had
on paper and what they really are right now.
They don't have a lot of weapons.
The O-Line has struggled.
Running backs, you were rattling off the stats
when they were going into Oklahoma.
Like, yo, you're Texas.
Like running backs had however many carries,
like, you know, average in very low number of yards.
I just think against this, Mississippi State rush defense,
this is where this team can find success
with their pissed off head coach calling plays.
And it comes alive a little bit to where next week
it could be a conversation at their SEC.
Here's what concerns me.
I do agree with how pissing Sark must be to have his play calling, his identity, really his humanity
questioned if we think about it, because that is Steve Sarkesian to us, a great play caller.
Most of us don't, I do know him personally, but he is a play caller to me, first and foremost.
So he's got that question about him.
On the flip side, think about how many times Mississippi State's been close this year.
They had Tennessee on the ropes at home, they let him off the hook.
They go down to Florida last week.
That game was such a Mississippi state win that Florida fired their coach even though they won the game.
That's how close it was at the end.
They've been close.
And you've got to get a signature win.
They've got to find the signature win somewhere.
This would be the spot to do it.
Texas is struggling the top 20 points, like you just said.
For all the talk about Sark and his offense, Jeff Levy thinks every bit as highly of himself.
He's not at Texas.
state, but Leby was at Oklahoma. He was the one pulling the levers when they were rolling first
year under Brent Venables out there. And he's at, he's at Mississippi State now, and it's year two,
and they got to have it. And I was really on the fence about this one. But I think in my mind,
okay, some totals or some final scores, like 23 to 16 covers for Texas, 20 to 13, 23 to 14,
like those cover for Texas. I think they're going to be ugly again this week. There's no statement from
Texas. I don't think of it as that kind of game. I think of it as a lower scoring, rock fight,
ugly kind of game, and Texas just somehow squeezes enough juice out of the orange to win by
seven or more, but you still have every bit as many questions about them. It's a back-to-back road
stretch for them. Second leg of back-to-back road games here. I think Texas is going to cover,
but I don't have a lot of confidence, and I don't think it's going to be pretty even if they do.
So this is a game to you that you're not pulling out the Fandall Sportsbook app and betting on yourself.
You're talking about it because you come on the show and this is one of the games you have to talk about.
This is what we call a J.K.S. A Jeremy Klump special.
Okay.
Yeah. This is a game I'm only picking because Clump made me.
Yeah.
Fair enough.
For the sake of time, this can be rhetorical.
But do you think it's Sark, it's the play calling that people should worry about or is it Sark trying to mask Arch and the possible
shoulder and maybe the limitations that he has right now?
I absolutely think it's a limitation.
Got you. Not Sark.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, Sark, Sark.
I absolutely think it's limitation.
Okay.
So you think this is an arch issue?
Arch Maining is a problem.
It's not just Arch.
I mean, Arch is under fire every other play too.
So it's the guys in front of him.
True.
I would say not doing their O-Line has struggled.
Yeah, like they just fundamentally, we talked about this a month ago.
They've just fundamentally mis-evaluated whether or whether or not they needed to go to the
portal for O-line help.
And they decided we did.
don't. We trust our guys in-house. And they were, they were either wrong about that or they
realized there's not a lot of help we can go get right now. Either way, they kind of are what they
are. Like what you just said, we're past mid-October. We're past the time of waiting for teams
to hit their stride. They just are who they are. And so at this point, it can only get worse,
really. Like at this point, if you're limited offensively, you can only get worse because you can only
get injured and banged up. So I just don't know that Texas is that team that's going to surge in
November. Somebody is. I just don't know that I just don't know if quarterback and offensive line and
lack of elite speed at receiver lend to you all of a sudden finding yourself in October or November.
It's crazy that those three position groups are an issue at the University of Texas.
Crazy. Maybe a one year deal only, but crazy. Where I'm at mentally, I have nothing but hope for teams
to hit their stride in the back half of the year. Texas A&M at LSU. A&M ranked three in the
country. LSU has fell to 20th in the country. Right now A&M is favored by two and
half. The over under on this game is 47 and a half.
Texas A&M, minus two and a half. LSU was on fraud alert for me back at the Florida
game. They've been on fraud alert for you since Clemson. Yeah, you flagged this early.
You have, you flagged this. I flagged this early, especially when Clemson law. Who did Clemson
ended up losing to in like week two or three? Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech. Like that, that moment
right there. Oh, is LSU even that good? Um,
Vandy handled them.
I do have a lot of,
I was liking what I saw from number 14,
the tight-in for LSU.
Tough dude to tackle.
You got to get him the ball as much as you can.
I like A&M here.
Kyle Pitts-looking type of tight-in.
Yeah, yeah.
Where he kind of, yeah, longer kind of looks.
A couple times you caught it.
I'm like, man, who's this receiver?
Right.
And I realize he's a tight-end.
But this is, this is, I like Texas A&M.
I like Texas A&M here.
I don't have a whole lot of thought other than just like,
I've watched LSU play enough to know they're not beating this A&M team.
To where I know A&M is not going to let this opportunity this weekend slip out of their hands
when it comes to staying at the top of the SEC and with two and a half points.
Yeah, I just don't think LSU's going to do it.
And I think it's like the majority of that fan base, they're going to be there,
suck my tiger dig, all that stuff because it's, you know, it's going to be a night game,
it's going to be rocking.
But the moment it goes the least bit sideways, the conversation is going to be.
going to go back to how much Brian Kelly is not the right fit at LSU.
Right. I think the I think weirdly I think internally they feel it and we all know
externally they feel it but I think it uh it becomes even more of an open wound after this
Saturday night in LSU when Texas A&M beats them. Let me present a couple of scenarios to you please
scenario A LSU wounded animal back against the wall plays with their hair on fire plays the
best game they've played all year. They harness the power of Tiger Stadium at night where
Brian Kelly is 20 and 1 at LSU. And it's a spectacle. It's like BAM against Tennessee last
week and everyone's like, wow, dude, no one was going in there and winning on this night.
And Alswell that ends well in their six and two. And they emerge from this game in the thick of
the playoff race and the thick of the SEC championship race. That's the first scenario. Yeah.
Kind of just me up to it. That's a popper. All right. So let me burst the bubble.
Go ahead. Burr's a big. There is a really.
really violently different second scenario that I've seen happen at Tiger Stadium before.
You're continuing to buy in.
Maybe you're skeptical about Brian Kelly and maybe you're skeptical about the offense,
but I'm going to show up.
I'm an LSU fan.
I'm a season ticket holder.
I got a job to do.
It's Saturday night in Death Valley.
A&M's coming in.
Kind of a low-key rivalry vibe in this game, by the way, that the nation doesn't realize.
And it starts poorly, and we're down 14-0.
And we've showed, even in games we win, we score like 20 points.
So we already feel like we're behind the eight ball.
That place will empty out.
And the ones that remain will make it so toxic.
Because they will have been taken advantage of.
They will have been played for fools again.
And they will use the entire second half of that game to voice their displeasure.
And all the power brokers are in their suites listening to it.
And the AD is in his box listening to it.
And Brian Kelly is on the field listening to it.
They got a bunch of recruits in town for this game listening to it.
Nothing turns.
a questionable situation sour more quickly than a bad home performance,
doubly especially for LSU.
Okay?
So we've either got the sugar high offense or we've got a sustainable offense.
Sugar high is, you remember last week they popped one long run.
Yep.
Got to the one yard line and still couldn't punch the ball in,
but that was what they had to rely on.
There was not a lot of sustainability.
They still haven't had a 100-yard rusher the entire year.
So they've faced some teams that they can trust not to pull away from them.
A&M may be able to pull away from you.
Like, I trust Blake Baker defensively, but you can't keep asking defense to bail you out.
And so if LSU can't run the ball again and they're relying on Nussmeyer slash Nutting Meyer to bail him out again,
and he's clearly not 100%.
And they're not leveraging their playmakers nearly as effectively as Texas A&M does.
A&M's going to score.
Like I'm a believer that there's a certain caliber of offense in football that no defense is going to totally shut down.
They're going to get some.
So I'm relying on A&M to find 27 points.
I don't know if LSU can answer with 28.
I think A&M's going to go in there and win.
I think they're going to cover.
And I think the uncomfortability rating,
the uncomfortability factor is going to go from like six to nine and a half.
And I think there will be changes that Brian Kelly is asked to make it the very least internally.
And I don't know that he'll do it because it's his pro.
grand at the end of the day. But I think that'll all be downstream of this result. I think A&M's
going to win and cover. Still undefeated coming out of Baton Rouge. Yeah, I agree. I've talked to like
multiple A&M fans. I was at Brazilian Jiu-Gitzu with my daughter last night and there was two
A&M fans there talking about this is when as a fan of Texas A&M, this is when it all falls apart
for us. Happens every year. We get high and then all of a sudden this happens. I disagree with them.
I agree with you guys. I think A&M goes in. They might end the Brian Kelly era. And they watched
of Vanderbilt game and they say, well, our quarterback's not Diego Pavia, but he can run like
Diego Pavia. We can do similar things on offense that they did and run the ball against
in that way. And they believe more in their defensive line than what they saw out of the Vanderbilt
defense line who also got pressure on Nutmire. And for that reason and that reason alone, I will take A&M.
Is week still out? Yes. I believe so, yeah. Remember, I've made it a point to low-key keep
mentioning how Brian Kelly has not endeared himself to Louisianaans. He has such little
equity built up for a guy who's five and two.
For a guy who is mathematically still alive for all their preseason goals, they don't like
him. LSU fans don't like him. So as long as someone you don't like is winning, you're
willing to hold your nose and that's okay, man. Football is great. I don't have to be best
friends with this guy. I could play with him. He could coach for me. But the second it goes sideways,
or in LSU fans' cases, the second they feel like this season is the lost cause, they will
turns so quickly because they think they deserve better they happen to be right they do deserve
better everyone who is coached there this millennium has won a national championship including a guy who
ran it up the middle every other play and ate grass on third down and a guy who needed subtitles for you to
understand what he was saying they won national championships so if you're not going to get it done
for us why are you our head coach oh and by the way we don't even like you you're not you're not a
lovable loser or he's not a loser but we don't even like you you don't like us do you like yourself
We don't know.
That's how it turns if they lose Saturday.
Is the same guy that hired Brian Kelly?
He's still there.
He sure is, yeah.
And I don't know if you have any type of relationship with this guy, but you have to look back.
And even at his first press conference, it was in the basketball arena using his fake Southern accent.
You had to know right then and there.
Like, this is not going to work out long term.
Brian Kelly's personality has never seemed so wrong for LSU and the culture there.
That would require great instinct.
And I don't know that great instinct has always been exercised in the decisions that have been made down there.
Hiring, finance, they've gotten themselves in some issues because of lack of instinct and judgment.
Those who know will know.
Yeah.
Yeah. I'm not one.
All right.

I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Ole Miss at Oklahoma.
This is a big one.
Big one.
Ole Miss, eighth in the country, Oklahoma 13th in the country.
Oklahoma is favored by four and a half at home, over under on this game, 54.5.
Does Ole Miss bounce back?
Can Oklahoma?
keep this offense of Ole Miss at bay long enough to put up enough points and win this game?
Can they control the line of scrimmage?
Can they keep the Ole Miss offense off the field?
Can they get home with this elite pass rushing unit against old Trinidad?
Trinidad's better throwing against pressure than he is when he's not pressured.
That's true.
Do either of you have a strong feeling on this game?
I feel confident about Ole Miss, but there's always,
maybe John Mateer's thumb is getting better.
Maybe he becomes the guy that he was earlier in the season,
the Heisman front running candidate.
That gives me a little bit of fear.
Oklahoma being able to find success on the ground last week,
that gives me a touch of fear.
The thing that I lean on is Lane Kiffin,
his play calling versus a great Brett Venable's defense.
I think he gets 28 points out of that.
And then seeing John Matier,
knowing the injury he has.
It's not an injury that's like
if you keep playing the longer play,
it'll kind of call us over and get better.
This is not an injury that you can just play through
and be like, oh, it's like he's not even injured anymore.
This is a thing that if it's four weeks,
you've got to take all four weeks.
If it's six weeks, you've got to take all six weeks.
He chose to come back for the Red River shootout,
and I think that was a mistake that was made.
A post-game press conference,
he literally said,
regardless of how I felt,
I was going to play that game.
So he's put himself in a very unique situation.
His legs haven't been the thing that's got him out.
Like he hasn't been throwing the ball like John Mateer can throw the football,
but he also hasn't been using his legs to extend plays and get a whole lot of yards.
So I have to look at the drive chart for Ole Miss versus Georgia.
And until those last three, which were the most important drives of the game,
it was touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown.
It was a fun game to watch.
It was a fun game to watch.
I think they have a, I think Lane Kippen has a bad taste in his mouth.
I think he could be thinking about Florida,
but I have to believe that he knows,
like we're still in this mathematically
and like for an SEC championship.
We could, everything we want to achieve is still right here.
He can go get his name on street signs in Ole Miss
and go to Florida the next year and do the same thing.
And I think if he realizes what he has in front of him
with the talent he has on this offense
and this Oklahoma run game was like a one game thing,
I like Ole Miss.
You want me to make you feel even better about that?
Please do.
I had an SEC coach text me Monday.
Ole Miss is about to expose Oklahoma's corners.
That's a scary text to hear.
That's a scary text to hear.
And it's also scary to hear because I know there's a butt coming because I do,
I will start boycotting after the show because we had a little therapy session on Bustle with the boys.
But before I knew we were going to boycott George Page Show, I did watch his prediction on this game.
So where's the butt?
I think the SEC coach is wrong.
Yeah.
I don't think this SEC coach really has a clue he's talking about.
Dude only does it for a living.
So what's supposed to make him feel better?
He already picked Ole Miss.
Yeah.
I wanted another bullet in the chamber for him.
But he doesn't believe.
They're going to expose Oklahoma's corners.
And I'm thinking back, I watched the prediction of this game on Josh Page Show.
And it is not Oklahoma's corners going to be exposed.
You like Oklahoma.
Yeah, I love Oklahoma.
I like Oklahoma too.
I feel like when you look at.
at Fanduil and you see like, you see Oklahoma favored by four and a half.
You've watched this Ole Miss offense.
It's kind of like, and it seems like it's a no-brainer to go Ole Miss here.
But I do.
It's like, uh, Oklahoma has to weirdly, Oklahoma has to have this game because they have
the hardest remaining schedule in season.
Oh, miss, even if you drop this game, like, it's a very favorable schedule.
They'll probably, if they lose this game, they would end up, what, 10 and 2?
Um, I let out.
Yeah, I like Oklahoma.
because I like the pass rush.
They do blitz a lot.
Hopefully they sit here and have, you know,
they're sitting back and looking at everything
and you can't allow this offense to get on top of you.
You have to win this game a certain way,
and it's through the running game,
which, again, they looked really good against South Carolina.
John Mateer is health getting better,
and I'm betting on John Mateer getting back
to the form of Josh Pate,
preseason Heisman,
to where they were performing.
before he got injured.
I like Oklahoma.
I like Oklahoma here.
I like the defense.
I like the run game.
They have to be,
they have to win this game.
Again, a certain way to where they kind of bleed the clock.
They control drives to keep that offense off the field.
Because, again, the Ole Miss offense can get on top of you faster than a, what we got here?
Faster than a toupee and a hurricane.
There we go.
It can get on you that quickly.
But I do.
I like Oklahoma at home. I like them in a spots where they have to have it. Oklahoma minus
four and a half. I like what you said. Can you break down how hard it would be to get a
too pay to land on your head in a hurricane? No, a hurricane off your head in a hurricane. Got you,
got you. That's like the opposite of slower than molasses in December. Yeah. Maybe I worded
that incorrectly, but get on you quicker than a two to pay leaving your head in a hurricane. Got you.
There we go. Found it. Found it. Yeah, found it. Landed the plane.
A sentence that has not come out of any of our mouths so far this year is Oklahoma is going to win this game running the football.
But I think Oklahoma is going to win this game running the football.
They've sucked at it most of the year.
They were okay doing it last week.
A couple of things that come to mind here.
Ole Miss, 99th run defense in the country.
That defense was on the field 80 plays last week, which in modern college football is a lot.
It's the second leg of a back-to-back road stretch for them.
I despise that Lane Kiffin's name has been out there as much as it has with Florida.
knowing full well Lane Kiffin has paid attention to that and has not blocked the noise out,
you'll also never convince me that didn't play a part in how Nebraska looked last Friday night,
by the way. You'll never convince me that Tulane didn't struggle to the end against Army,
if not for John Summerall's name being out there. We've never seen hot seat talk and we've
never seen coaching carousel talk to this degree in October. So it's a new thing. So we're seeing
how it impacts teams first ride around the merry-go-round. Also, forever,
Everybody who's going to focus on Lane Kiffin versus Brent Venables,
I actually think it's a Ben Arbuckle versus Pete Golding game.
Those are the Oklahoma OC and Ole Miss D.C.s respectively.
And I think Ben Arbuckle is going to dial one up here.
And I do think that unlike last week when Ole Miss went on the road
and Chambliss, you know, everyone's touting his numbers against pressure,
he hasn't faced an elite pressure team.
George has a terrible pressure team this year.
And so it's crazy because you're thinking your mind,
you got to go into Athens. That's going to be tough.
Not this year. It's not.
Georgia's a good team.
But that specific matchup is not tough.
This is the number one pressure defense in the country.
It is night and day different from what he faced last week.
It's night and day different from what he's faced all year.
And I really think they can crowbar.
O'Miss offensively in a way that no one else they played this year could.
And so I actually think that Oklahoma is going to tilt the game a little bit.
For viewers that are bust and tune in and Josh Pay to explain your crowbar theory.
The crowbar theory is if you face a certain caliber defense and you're vulnerable to it offensively,
what happens is they toss the crowbar in the bicycle spokes, and the bicycle does not slow down.
If you toss crowbar and the bicycle spokes, the bike just stops.
You fly over the handlebars, your face is all skint up, but it doesn't slow down.
The point is, if you're averaging 35 points per game and you face an elite defense, you don't think to yourself,
okay, we'll still score 25, 26.
You could go from scoring 35 to, oh, we've got nine on the board going into the fourth quarter.
How did that happen?
You got crowbarred.
That's how it happened.
Now, you could set up a short field defensively, and you could score, and that's great.
You could score special teams.
You could score defensively, and that makes the scoreboard look different.
But in terms of pure offensive production, it would stun me if Ole Miss just moved up and down the field this week.
Or even close to that, like they did against Georgia early in the game last week.
So I don't think OU needs 40 to win this game.
Consequently, I don't think they'll score 40.
But I do think they'll run the ball a healthy amount.
Do think they'll control tempo.
And I do think they'll control game script and they'll win the game and cover.
So you don't see this Ole Miss offense as one of those offenses that's going to score no matter what?
No, I do not.
Oklahoma?
Oklahoma?
Yes.
Ole Miss.
Separation Saturday.
This is actually the separation Saturday.
I think we're all.
Watch a split all the seven.
the separation. I know. I can't do another two and three. I just can't do it. I know. Last time we went
two and three before the show started, you go, why were you two and three? Even the weeks where my
picks go good, I'm having to sweat Saturday night and I'm having to see, wait. All right. So let's say,
I went 12 and four. Which games did we pick on locker room? Oh, it's three of the four I lost.
Awesome. Great feeling. Great feeling. Do you think there's something in picking just more games,
just having more ammo? Or being concentrated on like,
three maybe. I would petition to have a couple of weeks where we just go 15 deep. I don't even
need to break it down. I don't need to even make a facial gesture. I would just love to rattle it off.
I'd love to talk Cal Virginia Tech on a Friday night. I would love to talk App State plus 14 and a
half against Old Dominion. I would love to do it. If we stay this close in the standings and we get
to the second week in November, I think those last two weeks we maybe do that. Just really separate
us. Just pick 15 games. Just pick every game.
Bring back rapid fire
Bring back rapid fire
At least for a week
Maybe the comments
Will tell us to
You get enough comments
Get the rapid fireback
Pick 15 games
We'll pick 15 games
The crowd is never wrong
Yeah the crowd is never wrong

But you're going to look good, feel good, play good in True Classic.
We got Missou.
Mizzu.
Coming to Nashville, Tennessee, Fall Don't Lie Tour will be there.
College Game Day will be there.
Mizzu is 15 in the country.
Vanderbilt is 10 in the country.
Look, Kay McConnell, friend of the show.
Friend of the show.
A Vanderbilt is favored this Saturday minus two and a half.
The over under on this game is 52.5.
Gentlemen, this is a big game.
Is Nashville the center of the college football world now?
Yes.
Yes.
I think it's safe to say yes.
Not even a close second.
No.
Senator trying to battle through all the different spots.
If Vanderbilt wins this game, do they win out?
That's still tough to say.
They got to go to Texas still.
They've got, there's Auburn.
Make of that what you will.
they got tendency at the end of the year my guess would be no mathematically that's a tough three
game stretch to run but um if they if they win this one the question is not will they win out
the question is can they afford to drop one more and still make the playoff taylor wants you to say
no so he doesn't have to take the entire offensive one no i've actually come into terms with that
that's a great point Mitch i did like have you started budgeting for that that's one of those you
call the financial advisory bill you're going to see a lot of things here just know like i got i just know
this is my fault. Yeah, this is my fault that this is happening. It's just one of those deals.
And I'm, I think I'm flipping the script a little bit. I don't know if I'm subconsciously doing it
because I want them to lose and because I've been against them. They're winning and now I'll
flip it once I say I'm with them because I am taking Vanderbilt in this game. Something about
magic, man. And something about a school that, you know, Nick Savan says there's no easy place
to play in the SEC except for Vanderbilt. They've proven that wrong now. Something about Diego
Pavia being at New Mexico transferring with Clark Lee when he got the head coaching job and just
setting the world on fire not once but twice doing it two years in a row it's something that we're
going to be able to look back on in 10 years and be like dude remember that run from Vandy we were there
because now Clark Lee he's the head coach at Auburn he's they're doing whatever you know
Diego Pavia who knows what he's up to but like what a cool story it's a great game
Diego Pavia in 10 years fill in the blank that is the game that is
the game. And I just, I love the magic. I love the magic. I think if Missouri wins that game,
kind of the college football peers get to sit back and go, okay, everything's kind of put back
into the place it should be. We're going to assume they're going to lose one or maybe two more
these in end games so they have a hard schedule and they're not going to make the playoffs and they're
being a bowl game and that'll be it. But something about this is beautiful. Something about them
taking LSU being favored against LSU, two brands, one that's way bigger than the other.
And the lower, the one and lower on the totem pole ends up beating them outright.
and then doing the same thing this week.
And own the game.
Own the game.
Just owned it.
Like playing with their hair on fire,
getting a city that revolves mostly around country music
to revolve around a school that is more known as a close to Ivy League school than anything else.
I think that's beautiful.
And regardless of how well Missouri runs the ball,
Drinkowitz and he's getting the noise from other college coaching jobs,
I want to continue to believe in magic.
And for that reason, I'll be taking Vanderbilt.
Good for you.
Missouri Money Line.
Nice.
Missou the money line.
Hardy's coming to town.
It's a team that can run the football.
Let's look at these trenches that they're, you know, that's facing off this weekend.
Number one, back Aubur game last week that captain on defense is talking shit in overtime
and then going out there and getting a sack and a tackle for loss.
Like this is going to be a dog fight.
I like the dog fight on the zoo's side this game because if you look at who Vandy has played in the trenches when it comes to running defense,
they're rushing or like the run defenses they're going.
going against and also teams that can run the football.
They beat Georgia Southern, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Georgia State, Utah State, Alabama
takes you through the air, and then also LSU.
Mizzu can run the football.
I think they win this game running the football.
I like Missou in the trenches in this game.
I do love the story of Vanderbilt.
I love that Kay McConnell's getting all the praise.
We are.
We enjoy our Vandy fans here.
But if I'm picking this game, I like Missouri.
I like them out right.
I like them here in Nashville during the Fall Don't Lie Tour.
Now, hold on. Bandy's the number 12 run D in the country.
Again, the rushing offenses that they've won against.
We just talked about LSU.
You look at Bama.
That's Ty Simpson.
Hold on.
Let's just rattle them out.
Bama, number 104 rushing offense in the country.
Who else?
LSU.
Number 117 rushing offense.
Let's try South Carolina.
Number 121 rushing offense.
If you look them up, let's start.
Let's go Virginia Tech next.
Actually, don't have that written down.
I never planned on this deep.
Charleston Southern.
I thought we were anecdotally making a point
where we were going to move on.
It was really going to flow.
Georgia State.
I've got no clue what Georgia State ranks nationally
in rushing offense.
Then look those up.
That's interesting.
So tell me which team I'm describing here.
All right?
Run first team with a mobile quarterback.
High third and fourth down conversion rate.
Top five, actually.
More opportunistic than elite defensively.
but good pass rush
top 10 pressure rate
without blitzing
lost to Bama
there's chatter about the head coach
maybe moving on after this year
which team am I describing there
there's no wrong answer
no when we broke down Bama
Mizzou I know that Bama is really
or I know that Mizzou is really good
on third and fourth down conversion rate
pass rush I don't know the whole elite
defense but they're very opportunistic
but I would guess we're talking about
Mizzu here we are
but we're also talking about Vanderbilt.
I describe both teams.
They look in the mirror, they see each other.
So my very, very advanced analytical take on this is
whoever plays with the lead in the game
probably has the best chance to win.
It would help if we could figure out who that's going to be.
I agree with you.
I watched your preview video.
I agree with you.
I think there may be, if there's a crack in this game,
it's that Vandy's run defense,
while statistically top 15,
may not have been pressed on
like they will, hopefully, Amad Hardy,
able to run the ball like he was the first five games in the season.
I think that's just enough.
There is no human being on the planet
that is equipped to play the disrespect.
No one believes in us thing,
even though we're a two and a half point dog,
more than Eli Drinkwitz.
And I think they're going to come in there,
and I flipped it last minute last week and picked LSU.
I'm not flipping this week.
Somehow I think Missouri is going to come in there and get the win.
If I'm wrong, if you're right with Vandy,
We enter a world in the last week of October where Vandy can afford to lose another game and still make the playoff.
That's how big the stakes are here.
Yeah.
Which would honestly be a fun world for Nashville and Vanderbilt.
Cade McConnell, he saw him by the shop to pick up some merch the other day.
And I was just letting it know, he's walking out to his vehicle, to his truck.
I'm just saying, hey, buddy, Mizzu's coming to town.
He's like, oh, you know, I'm like, no, no.
Mizzu is coming to town.
Little did he know that I was like, hey, this is Missouri Moneyland all day.
Yeah, well.
Do you wait to the door closed before you said it?
I didn't say, I didn't even say that.
I'm just letting him know so he can stay focused
and not hear all this rat poison
because we're fluffing him up right now.
Everybody in the world's fluffing up
at Kay McConnell's clip.
Cole Kublick.
Just more just letting him know,
hey, as he's coming to keep him focused
because as he's getting in the truck,
I'm like, he doesn't know.
Kade's got the right mindset.
He knows that clip is going extremely viral.
I was at somebody's house last night
for a game night that my wife tricked me into.
Love game nights.
You don't like them when they go to 1 a.m.
Don't like that at all,
especially when I have to drive 15 minutes after that.
that. But while we're sitting there playing a game on the back, there's the local news going on
and it's showing Katie McConnell's clip. Cade McConnell's clip and it's showing about how viral it's
gone. This one play by this Vanderbilt Offensive One. Oh, wow. And then it shows him and he's doing
an interview on it. And when he's sitting at the office and he's saying, I can't let that get
in my head. He's looking at me like dead in the eyes, the fire being like we knew he'd be seven and
no, six and one going to this game. We knew this was the game that was going to define our season.
I have to believe now.
I have to sit there and they've showed me enough.
They've showed me enough at this point
to where the story's fun.
It's exciting.
Diego Povia has no business doing what he's doing.
I mean that with so much respect.
There's no business.
Diego Pavia with his wrestler brain
to will an SEC team
into a contender conversation,
yet here we are.
And I officially have to
be here for it and understand that my wallet might hurt because of it.
Love it.
All right.
Yeah.
I was going to say go Vandy, but I got M-I-Z.
Go to Vandy.
Yeah, go to Vandy.
Go to the game.
Are you?
You know I'm there.
Fall Don't Lie tour.
Double header.
Off the books double-heder?
It's a 2-30 game.
I'm here.
I'm parked.
Maybe a Friday game?
It's bold.
I got softball championships this Friday night.
Which, by the way, how is that going?
Because every clip you put is obviously always highlights, but talk to me about the full game.
Well, we're in the playoffs, which every team makes.
Were you in the lineup?
Hitting in the three hole?
All right, big dog.
Every bit as much pressure Friday as there will be Saturday here in Nashville.
High school baseball player.
We talk about Diego Pavia.
Like, he shouldn't be in this position.
He should this man.
He was a baseball guy.
I am, Katie McCann.
I knew it was going to come down to this.
Yeah.
I knew this Friday night in mid-October was where I was going to be.
gonna create my legacy one way or another. And I got a stray neck right now. So, you know,
still got 72 hours. Yeah, you got some time. Two nights ago, I said I got this kink back here.
And I'm thinking so nervous. It's just hell. Josh, you don't play flight football on Wednesdays?
Let me let me talk after we get through this season. I'm not going Dion. I'm not going to
sports at once on you. Okay. I can't do that. I got to focus. Just throw out of throw it out.
They're throwing 18 mile an hour fast falls at me right now on Friday night. I got to focus. I got a
lock in on softball. Mitch, he's in a flight football league all year around. I saw it. It does. It
It doesn't look like you need a lot of help.
Looks like you guys have got it pretty well locked down.
I mean, we've got a solid squad.
We haven't accomplished anything.
Yeah, haven't won it.
Undefeated.
Haven't won anything yet, though.
Haven't won anything yet.
Me neither.
Neither have I.
Quick reminder, if you don't already know,
the boys have a profit boost token available every college football Saturday.
That's a profit boost on any college football Saturday bet.
Just open up the Fandole sportsbook app this Saturday and look.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news?
Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it.
it one of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers
was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say,

on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

I'm riding the same train.
I went Michigan State last week against Indiana.
Michigan State covered.
I'm going UCLA plus 25 and a half.
I thought that was going to be.
I thought you were going to go Michigan State to cover.
Oh, oh, no.
Yeah.
I did it last week, I'm thinking, oh, my God.
After the bus talk.
Yeah, that's about Nebraska, though.
That's about Nebraska.
That's about support.
It's about friendship more than it.
There's a core foundational piece in there.
Yeah, look, Indiana.
This is the Indiana.
the game. Yeah, UCLA. The spread right now is
UCLA is 3 and O since this regime change. These are two
undefeated teams playing each other. Yes, yes. Um, and they got
25 and a half points. Indiana, you know. You're still looking at that logo going
no. I agree with this fix. Yeah, it's more just, it's so many points. Not like Indiana is just
blowing everybody out. Like they're playing really good. They're one of the best teams in
the country. Signetti's got them boys rolling. I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that all.
I'm just saying 25 and a half points is like,
a lot of points against a team that is 3-0 in my brain, and I think should be nationally for
everybody else. They're playing good football, 25 and a half points. This is, I'm not going to say it,
but responsibly, this is as good as it gets. Yeah. Can we, since I have the commissioner of
college football, can we play a little crystal ball game? Let's just say hypothetically, UCLA
beats Indiana outright. What kind of conversation is taking place with UCLA in the college football
landscape. Is there a world where they've lost three games, four games? They're three and three right now.
They're three and three. But they've lost conference wise. Let's say they win out. I'll tell you the
conversation. Here's what the conversation would sound like. There would be a group over here saying,
wow, you got to hire Jerry New Heisel as the permanent head coach. And then there would be a few
people over here saying you understand he's not the current head coach, right? That's what it would
sound like. And then they would say, could we introduce you to Tim Skipper, who has actually been the
interim head coach this whole time? He's gotten a 10.
10th of the camera time, but this is actually the interim head coach right now.
The conversation would be that.
And then it would be, should we hire James Franklin?
Should we bring James Franklin all the way out here?
That's what the conversation.
That's what the conversation would be.
Do you think in 9 and 3 UCLA team has a shot to make the playoff?
No.
Beating Indiana?
No.
I don't.
Let me see where they're at.
Yeah.
Keep going, but I'm looking at the, because it's not a,
shot in the dark to say they could still be in the Big Ten Championship, right?
I'm trying to figure out who else they would play. Indiana is undefeated. Ohio State's
but they're not undefeated if UCLA wins. True. So both those are two Indiana one lost team.
Ohio State plays UCLA, I believe. Yeah, they do. So Ohio State will be a two lost team.
Tell you what, tell you what, if UCLA runs this and they've got wins over number one and number two,
yeah, if we think a nine and three SEC team could make it, why not a team would.
that resume in the big 10 you got to play uc they play u sc at the end of the year too
tell you're missing you're missing another one they they got the huskers they do oh well so it
sounds nice but yeah oh we're gonna end the conversation there oh oh i'll stay USC you're missing when
this ain't happening for ucel got you uh okay my dog of the week south carolina gamecox plus
11 and a half. No one believes that Alabama is not going to cover this. That's a double
negative. No one believes, except for Josh Pate. This is exactly when you take South Carolina.
This is defensive touchdowns. This is best case scenario. South Carolina's offense is not on the
field. Yeah. Yeah. We got to get the offense off the field so we got a shot to score.
55 minutes Alabama time of possession. That's how South Carolina wins this game.
Oh, man, I hate that you're right. I just think it's a terrible spot.
for Alabama. This is my national champ. I have texted Kaelin DeBoer. I have texted
Kame Womack. I have texted every coach I can. I've texted the SIDs. I talked about it on the show
and sent the clips to them. This is the fifth game in a row where they've got to be up and they've
been up for four of them. And now the thought is all right, well, we celebrated, we smoked our
cigars, we beat Tennessee. That post is electric. I was there Saturday night off the record,
of course. And so now you're trying to get to the bye week. Now we're going to get through South
Carolina. Let's get out of their healthy. Meanwhile, it's the most wounded animal mode that you'll
ever be in. It's the last gasp of October. You can't go winless in October. Has that ever happened?
No. Not in the history of the month.
Not in the history of the month. I am very concerned that I'm sitting there looking at Bama
notorious for not turning the ball over being minus three turnovers. And it's a dog fight
slash cot fight in the fourth quarter. I'm very concerned about this. They could also
I also win 38 to 10, but I'm very concerned.
I'm very concerned about the game.
That's what makes it more fun.
As you can see both things happening.
What's the upset meter at here?
The Pucker meter is it six and a half as the game kicks off.
Give me a six and a half.
What time is it kick off?
3.30.
Yeah, it's not a night game, but it's not an early kick.
It's going to be happening in the same time that Fall Don't Lie is at Missouri, Vander.
So it's going to be one of those classic hope for good Wi-Fi at Vandy so we can
keep tabs on both games at once.
Vandy has decent Wi-Fi.
They do, actually.
Shockingly good Wi-Fi.
Yeah, shockingly good Wi-Fi.
You can get around in that state, which is nice.
Which is nice.
Hove knows.
The Hove knows.
The Hove knows just headed home.
Did you do your dog?
Give me cow.
Really on principle, Virginia Tech has no business land points against anyone.
This is a Friday night game.
Weird stuff's been happening on Friday night for a long time.
now this season. And so I'm going to take Cal plus four and a half.
Decent shot they win the game outright. Where's the game at? It's in Blacksburg.
Oh, it's in, it's it's at Virginia Tech. Yeah. Willis try to process. That is not.
No, I'm sitting here thinking like, like, I can like that pick. I'm thinking I could like that pick if it's in Cal.
But that kind of makes me nervous. Cal played Minnesota earlier this year. Beat them.
Yeah, it's on a football field. That's all I do. All over the yard. Oh, I know. I know. I know.
Minnesota had to travel out to go.
Fair enough.
Also, I know we're by the end of the show.
However, it is Little Brother Week.
Michigan is playing Michigan State.
Were they 14 and a half right now?
I believe so.
This hat right here,
BWTB.com.
That's where you can get this hat.
We are going to, I texted
all the people you texted from Alabama,
all those titles, I texted them as well.
I said, this is a game.
You're up by 21.
You score again and you go for two.
Like that is this type of game.
So I'm taking Michigan responsibly
to cover 14 and a half.
Surprise you and put them in the parlay.
I was going to put them in the parlay.
You put Nebraska in the parlay,
and I thought it would be unfair to the fans
for both of our fandom to take over that parlay.
That's true.
So I took mine away
because I was with you yesterday
during all those conversations,
and I thought, let me support,
let me remove my fandom,
say that at the end of the show,
move on.
But I will be taking Michigan
minus 14 and a half.
That's the difference
between an amateur and a professional.
Thank you.
And I will say,
this is a Bryce Under
in the air game.
Michigan State does not do well against the run.
They know that.
Michigan knows that.
They will bring everybody down in that box.
Bryce Underwood will have a, oh, that's the player we've wanted to see.
This is everything gearing up for the last week in November.
300-yard game?
Yes.
300 passing.
Yes.
His first one.
It would be the only way I don't see that happening other than all the other ways
would be they're done half with his third quarter.
It hasn't happened all year,
but there's only one way you don't see it happening this Saturday.
The only way I don't see it happening in this game is,
it's, you know, six minutes left in the third quarter.
We're pulling guys.
But it's a rivalry game.
Crazy things can happen.
Bryce Underwood, Donovan McColley,
Samaj Morgan, Andrew Marsh.
We're getting our tight ends back.
Let's have a day, boys.
Let's have a day.
You guys all have a day.
Thank you for tuning in.
Big hug, signing kisses.
We will see you next week.
Let's win them all this weekend.
Separation Saturday.
