William, how was your weekend, buddy?
Great weekend.
Great weekend watching ball
Number one, let's just get this out of the way.
I love football.
I love football.
The games we get the witness outside of the Seahawks Niners,
but even that one.
Even that's like, you're like, good, we have one of these.
You needed that because every game was touch and go
multiple overtimes.
Yeah.
And you get to watch Seattle just beat on a beat up 49ers team, right?
Okay, good.
Yeah, Seattle just being a machine of a team.
They're the ones that feels like it's their Super Bowl to lose.
Let me ask you this.
We're going to get into all the games.
But if you're looking at all the games, but if you're looking at a
at divisional round. Is there a clear
cut this team's winning the Super Bowl to you?
I think it will be
the Seahawks defeating the Patriots
in the Super Bowl.
We are very aligned in that.
Yeah, Seahawks. I know going in,
I know going into playoffs, it was, my
brain was at, it's going to be
Seahawks, Seahawks Patriots
or Seahawks Patriots in that
Jacksonville game, but Jacksonville ended up losing
to the Texans.
But now that it's, now that we're there,
like it's Seattle, it's Seattle Patriots.
that's the hill.
Yeah.
Seattle, I can see it going either way in the NFC championship game,
but because of the Bo Nix news, if nobody heard,
Bo Nix broke an ankle, second and the last play of the game,
last play of the game,
all a conspiracy theorist behind that,
Twitter doctors apparently,
according to Jeremy Klumper saying that,
hey, this guy actually had a broken ankle before the game,
allegedly, and they just made him play instead.
He ended up getting the overtime winning against the bills,
but because they have a backup quarterback in,
it's like you got to just assume.
Imagine somebody.
out there right now just learning that
Bo Nix is injured.
For people that might not know
Bo Nix broke his ankle and they're like, what?
Bo Nix broke his ankle.
Are you serious?
Honey, I thought, do we watch the game?
Yeah, we watched him no post-game press conference.
Holy shit.
He said in his group chats.
Hey, do you guys hear about this?
Where in the fuck of you?
Like, do you even consume any football?
It is wild with the NFL playoffs
do to people like Tailing.
I put on that Broncos' Bill's game.
the other day. I think it was Saturday afternoon.
Put that one on in my head. You should come watch his game. I kind of start giving her the
storylines. Josh Allen. He's, you know, Owen, whatever and away games before these playoffs started,
but all of them were to Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes, except for his first playoff game as a rookie.
We start getting into it talking about Josh, the dick jokes, all the things. So she's starting
to get invested and she's screaming at the TV, gets her so much to where I come down from when the kids
to sleep last night. And the Rams Bears game is on in the bedroom. And she's watching the game.
That was an electric game.
Electric.
But that Broncos Bill's game, man.
Fun one.
Sad one.
Sad one.
Sad one.
Happy one.
Happy one.
Yeah, happy one.
There was a lot of emotions that took place in the game.
A lot of emotion.
A lot of emotion.
I love both of those teams.
It's like there are moments to whoever needed to score, I found myself rooting for that team.
Yeah.
Just because of how it was coming down to the wire.
Tough, tough day for the boy, Josh Allen.
I know, man.
Incredible foot.
football player.
Like he is like, he is arguably, if not the best football player in the NFL to see it go down like that,
knowing he is the, he is the massive reason that that team is in that position.
He's potentially the only reason.
Like there's other reasons, but he's the number one without a doubt.
Like if you didn't have Josh Allen, we might be talking about a team that didn't make the playoffs this year.
Oh, absolutely.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
He didn't.
To have a game like that, what do you do?
Two picks?
Three fumbles?
Two fumbles?
Two fumbles?
Four of the five.
Yeah, and dude, that half time, going into half, when he's holding that ball like Shady McCoy,
running up the field with 13 seconds left and no timeouts, like, you just got to take a knee.
Take a knee.
And then the fumble, quick kick, that's a 10-point swing.
And I think the Broncos got the ball in the second half, right?
They started the game.
Ended up not doing nothing with the ball, but you put yourself in a horrible momentum position
to have them go down, score on you.
You have 13 seconds left.
No timeouts?
Am I correct in saying that?
let's just assume no time out so you're on the 25 yard line like buddy you gotta take that knee and just get in the half yeah
and realize where you're at bow nicks was slinging it too slinging it he was bowling he was balling he wasn't
he wasn't really a part of the game until like the second half like he was getting it to a multitude of different guys yeah
yeah it was it was heartbreaking buffalo being able buffalo being able to run the ball um it's dude
i hate that bo nix is not in the i know everybody hates that it sucks that
that Bo Nix is not in the AFC championship.
Because even post-game, when you find out that Bo Nix,
which by the way, it's like, what a bomb.
That it happened like, you know, second to last play of the game.
Allegedly.
Allegedly conspiracies out there,
everybody arguing that it was sooner than that,
and then Sean Payton's lying.
But to just learn that it was a situation we didn't even witness or see
or Bo Nix is celebrating, doing all the things,
and then Sean Payton to walk to the podium.
Back here, we got some bad news.
Bo Nix, he broke his ankle.
He's done for the season.
it's like, oh, you're in the, you're in the AFC championship.
And a part of my brain is like, and I know it's just not, it's not the reality.
It's stupid.
But I'm just like, we need to, the bills just need to be in the AFC championship.
Yeah.
Listen, I think it crossed a lot of people's minds.
Because where do you put the Broncos like chances to beat the Patriots in this game now?
They got a shot.
It's not like the Patriots look, it's not like the Patriots look unbeatable by any means.
But, hey, Stidham.
Stidham's got a shot to.
this is legacy he's got a shot to make so much money he's got nick full's potential here yeah
nick full drafted by the patriots there was a they like played a game like i think brady was out
for a game and uh he like had like three or four touchdowns i think it wasn't four definitely
wasn't four but three touchdowns in the game like kind of diced him up a little bit and if
you think about it the biggest question mark going to the broncos playoffs was is the quarterback
going to be able to facilitate the ball because their defense is complete their office line is
incredible they're good enough on the outside perimeter
And they have two running backs that are pretty great.
And now it's like Bo Nix is out.
Maybe same thing happens.
The odds for the Super Bowl winner came out this morning on Fandul.
The Seahawks sit at the leading favorite at plus 150.
Patriots plus 220.
Rams plus 220.
And then the Broncos plus 1,300.
3,300.
Might be worth a sprinkle, right?
Maybe.
We got a sale going on.
And this Stidham guy.
He played a, he was a bear.
He was a bear.
Was he also an Auburn Tiger?
He was also an Auburn Tiger.
So he got himself a little taste of the NIL transfer area.
Back before it was cool.
Back before it was cool.
Before the bags were flying,
this kid was just transferred for the love at the game.
Like this, he's just a mercenary for hire.
Patriots, now he's at the Broncos.
He's behind Bo Nix Ultimate Pro.
Yeah.
I'm kind of getting on board because I haven't jumped on the bandwagon of the Broncos all year.
And now kind of feels like.
I know, I know
There's just, to me, there was teams
Where my hearts lied a little bit different with
Yeah
The bills were my number one this year
Followed closely by the Patriots
I wanted to see the Chargers do well
I was kind of on board with you
When it came to the Chiefs
I'll tell you who I really fell in love with
It came to an abrupt end
But I kind of fell in love with the bears
This weekend
I thought you were going to say the Jaguars
The sneaky Jackson of Jaguars
I think that's my Titans brain
Yeah, okay good for them
It's like hey good for them
but then as soon as they're out, they're like, yeah, good.
You know?
Yeah.
What kind of shot do you think the Broncos have against the Patriots?
Buddy, the more I'm kind of just talking about without looking into Stidham, Stidham.
Stidham.
Stidham.
Stid him.
Stid him.
I don't want to disrespect the young man.
I don't hate it.
Like, Drake Mace put the ball on the ground multiple times.
I think he did it four times or five times.
And this last game against the Texans, it's completely different.
I mean, still two elite defenses, but that pass rush is absolutely insane.
And you lose his two of those.
You see what?
a pass rush, like a defense like that can do to Drake May. I'm not saying the Broncos have the same
elite type of pass rushers that the Texas do, but it's still a defense that is going to be able to
get after Drake May. Right, right. And like, they go into the wild card game against the Jaguars.
There's a handful of throws, deep passes that we've all kind of like dubbed Drake May as the new
best thrower of the deep pass in the NFL as the regular season has gone on, hitting like over 70%.
Has a couple against the Jaguars. You're like, all right, nerves. I expect that to be different
Hit one later in the game, though.
Yeah, hit one later in the game.
Miss Austin Hooper big time on one.
That's like, oh my God.
End up hitting Henry later in the game, same route.
But then you go to this game and it's like, okay,
he's under pressure quite a bit, but he is getting the ball out fast.
He's being very decisive whether to run with it,
go to his first two reads and then realizing we don't got that kind of time.
But there's multiple throws downfield that he is missing.
Getting one to Kishon Booty.
At the end, beautiful catch-by booty, by the way.
Maybe a round of applause for him.
That was absolutely incredible.
Yeah, that was a big time.
But all that to be said, it's like, I think this game's a lot.
I don't know what are the odds right now, but I think the game is a lot closer
and then we're kind of expecting to be when you hear, hey, this team that's going to the
AFC championship, they're missing their starting quarterback because of how well-up together
they are.
The positive is they get to host it.
So they'll be at home in Denver.
And again, the defense that the Broncos do have, like you watch the Patriarch Texan game.
Like I tweeted it yesterday.
Like I couldn't take a piss without a turnover happening.
Yeah.
It's like I'm sitting there trying to squeeze one off here.
and that Charles like, oh, another fumble.
And you go out there, the way these teams are putting the ball,
turning the ball over, the way that the Texans were able to get after Drake May,
I see like the Broncos should be able to do something similar.
And it's like if you're the Broncos Stid them, that offense,
you could only need about 17 points to win.
Maybe, maybe.
But I mean, Josh, what, they put 30 up on them with nobody at receiver,
with James Cook who had multiple fumbles,
or not a fumble prone running back.
throughout the season and had one in the game.
Josh Allen had multiple.
And they still put up 30 points.
Yeah, Josh Allen and that bill's offense,
even though they did have all those turnovers.
But I'm just talking like, again,
looking at what the Patriots offense did
against an elite defense like the Texans,
like the Broncos should be able to suffocate them
a lot more than they were able to, the Buffalo Bills.
I wonder if, I want to see the weather report in Denver
as opposed to New England.
Because a lot of things that I've been seeing is like,
when I think about cold weather games as an office,
alignment. I'm thinking opportunity. These guys are going to be slower. They're going to be more
cold than I am. The hits hurt more. But you're like, you just, it feels like football to you.
Everyone's kind of slowed down. It's equalized for you a little bit to where I feel like as an
offense alignment, I have the advantage. Putting into perspective of these quarterbacks, their hands,
their bare hands are out the whole time. They don't feel their hands. You see a lot more balls on the
ground. The weather is, which one is this? This is Denver. This is Denver. So 41, 29, sunny outside.
It's a little bit different. New England, I'm assuming.
we're having overcast, we're in the teens, right?
Probably.
So I just wonder if that would play a factor at all
and actually help Drake May out with holding the ball a little bit better,
with the deep passes, all those things.
Because you see it with CJ Strutt as well,
like that ball is slipping out of his hands in New England
and it kind of just gives you a tip of the captain,
Tom Brady being like, this dude, operate in this weather.
Yeah.
If that is as big of a factor as I've now kind of like viewed it.
Because it is, it's going to be,
I think this game is going to be so much more interesting
that people think.
Look at that.
Jared Stidham hasn't thrown a pass in two seasons.
Love it.
In his career, he's thrown eight touchdowns and has had eight interceptions.
Clean slate.
Do you do that what you will?
Like we said earlier, value plus 1,300 Super Bowl on.
The optimistic part of me is, again, even though he hasn't thrown a pass in a couple seasons,
the way it feels like Sean Payton, the way that they operate in-house offensively with
breaking down situations, what to do with the football.
Here's what we're going to do in this situation.
sitting behind Bo Nix
hearing all the conversations
partaking in all the conversations
you got to assume he's going to be ready to go
to some extent
it's just going to be getting the rust off
being out there in a real game
yeah
but it doesn't seem like they're going to have to
like dumb down anything
you know what I mean
do you think it hurts him that
Josh McDaniels is the one who traded for him
for the Raiders so knows him very well
he started
set him over Derek Carr in
Las Vegas when he was the head coach
you think that hurts him a little that he kind of knows all his weaknesses
he probably knows.
The hurting him is just walking in and be like, hey, this ain't going to be no cakewalk.
Sted him, boy, this kid can sling the rock a little bit.
Yeah, this is going to be the classic.
You get your hands on him a couple times.
You can get a little nervous.
I'm happy feet.
He'll probably have a couple quirks like that.
But it's like, then you've got to do it.
Yeah.
Vrable right now, as we are talking, he is derecruiting the high of the New England Patriots.
Whatever, whatever image they might have in their mind that they're going to go and walk in and win this game,
you ain't going to just show up and win this game.
Can't just show up and.
when you can't do it.
To we talk about the catch that wasn't a catch that ended up being an interception
on Cooks, deep in the game overtime.
Bills go first, they go three and out.
They don't cross the 50.
They end up punning.
Bills, Josh John methodically kind of get on the field, get around that 50-yard line,
throw a deep shot to Cooks, which if he makes that catch, this game is essentially over, right?
You get Prater, you trot Prater out there, you kick it, you win, you're in the AFC
championship, and it doesn't take place.
Do we think it was a catch or do we think it was for sure an interception?
I think it was for sure an interception.
Does anybody else in the back say, no, that's a catch?
Because it seems like the hot topic that's taking place.
It was an interception.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't want to sit here and argue, but I feel like I thought it was a catch just because what is a catch?
We're still in 2026.
We don't really know.
The fact we're still debating it is kind of crazy.
Yeah.
My thought would be the moment he hits the ground, he's down.
And then they rolled and the other guy got to.
the ball. The slow-mo makes it tough. So it's like, it's not like I'm going to say you're arguing. People
going frame by frame. It's like that was such a bang, bang, bang, play in a bang-bing moment.
To where you look at the Devante Adams one, which is something that's similar. But Devante's like,
his feet are on the ground and he's like moving a step as he's going down to the ground to where
you see he's caught the ball. Yeah, he's holding. He clearly has possession while his knee touches
and he's touched by the defender. He caught it and made one or two steps before he got tackled.
Yeah. And he's got like a couple guys on him as he's going to the ground. This one was just like,
he's aerial he's in the air hitting the ground everything going on and the dude just comes up with the ball like i feel like that was
the rest i i agree that they have struggled at times and made some bad calls that second pass interference the
the pass interference calls at the end of the game yeah we got to talk about first one felt a little
tickey tacky but okay they got a pass interference it seems like uh the broncos are going to win the game
but the second one i thought was bullshit so i i understand the outcry and everybody being pissed off
with how the referees are calling some of these games
But that call in particular with the interception, I do believe that it was an interception.
Yeah, I don't know if I'm too off base in this, but when I look at the playoffs and it's
winner go home type of situation, guys are chasing their dreams, especially in this game
with a Josh Allen and Sean Payton might be the only head coach of all time to win multiple
Super Bowls for two different teams.
If you're a referee, it's got to be extremely egregious.
Like balls in the air, defender tackles the guy of the ground.
all right, we have to throw on this.
We have to throw the flag.
But anything else that's like tickey, tacky, hand grabbing,
maybe he's a little draped over.
I think we should always edge on the side of let the boys play.
Let them play the game unless it's so over the top.
Think about a couple years ago with the Eagles and the Chiefs,
the holding penalty that called,
that clearly was a holding penalty.
That's when I'm like, all right, you got to call that.
I hate that the refs are kind of thrusting themselves within the storyline.
What happened?
What are you looking back and forth for?
That was a terrible call.
Are you kidding me?
In that Super Bowl?
I thought it was Tiki-Tack.
I think that's what he's saying.
Oh, I thought he said it was a great call.
No, Taylor is saying it's a great call.
I'm saying it was a good call.
Oh, my.
Oh, no, that's Tiki Tickey Tick.
That's Tiki Tick.
Oh, you know, it's Tiki Tilly.
Give it.
He was Tilly Tilly.
Give the Eagles.
That's Hullied Tilly.
That was Tiki Tiki Tick-Tock.
I see who I'm talking to now.
Yeah, yeah, I see the two.
Huh?
Birds fan, Chiefs, Hater.
They're now finding love.
To me, I look at that.
I'm like, yeah, dude, he did.
He wrapped his arm around him.
He pulled the jersey.
It is what it is.
Dicky tag.
We get in the game like this and we're throwing bombs downfield unless the guys
tackling him because there was one, I think it was Spencer Brown that had like a short corner
kind of like tugs the guy a little bit.
Josh gets the ball off.
I think it was actually on the play to cook.
It might have been a different play.
But that's one of me, it's like, let him play.
Listen, we're kind of in the mode of we got to let these gentlemen sort it out
between the gridiron, not a lot of the zebras to really dive into this whole thing.
That's my thought process in this.
I was happy to the exact point that the Old Miss final play against Miami, that they did not
throw a flag for PI.
So that is a perfect example.
That moment right there, there was a massive outcry that that was past interference.
I do believe that that was past interference with, you know, just in the way that game was
going.
We'd just love to see another play.
Let's see if Ole Miss can get it done.
but everybody's exploding over that not being a pass interference call
and that just happened last weekend.
Then you get into these situations
and you're seeing why they're throwing flags for these pass interference.
You can call them tiki-tack, whatever.
So the pendulum just swings every which way.
Yeah, everybody just sees the zebra stripes.
They just want consistency.
Yeah.
They want consistency.
So you're looking at the semifinals for the national championship in Arizona
and you think the NFL referees were influenced by that.
No.
No. I'm saying, I'm saying the way, I'm saying the way everybody's human mind is working to where they are so bought into.
This should have been a passenger interference call. I can't believe it was a passenger interference. Hey, let them play, let them play. Then you got to kind of bind to that. Then if you're, if you're watching your team get called against something that seems a lot more tiki tacky. You're like, well, why aren't they, why are they fucking calling this? If they're not out there calling that, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. I think we keep, we keep the laundry in our pockets. Unless it's so over the top, it's like, we have to do something about this. Yeah. Because if you're, was it. Was it?
Tradavius White walks up to the referee, yells in his face, kind of honestly, to me, it was like
a Kobe basketball moment for that referee.
They kind of just sat there, plain face, and he takes the helmet, throws the ground, he just quietly.
It takes like two steps and just tosses the flak in here, gives him another penalty.
I was like, this ref kind of just body bagged white a little bit.
Kind of body bagged him a little bit.
Yeah, he can't be slamming your helmet on the ground.
You're getting a fine, too.
You're going to be headed off to Cancun.
It's a heartbreaking situation.
I feel terrible for the bills because I,
I was really in the camp of,
hey, we get to go to the parade.
This is the perfect
playoff scenario for Josh Allen
and get through without having Lamar
or Mahomes or Burrow in the playoffs.
This would have been amazing to see him
to see not only Josh Allen,
but the bills to finally get it out,
like finally figure it out and get it done.
What do you make of everybody kind of putting the target
on Josh Allen for he just can't get it done?
He's the reason that the bills lost this game.
Putting it kind of all on him,
again, you get to this point to where you are in the playoffs without, you know, Burrow, Mahomes,
Lamar Jackson, and you just feel all the commentating going on to where they've dialed in
and are going after Josh Allen for this loss.
Yeah, I think people who are comparing Josh Allen to C.J. Stroud right now of like,
oh, you praise Josh Allen for how well he did, but C.J. Stroud had a similarly bad game.
To me, it's not here. You're not in the divisional round without Josh Allen.
Josh Allen didn't play particularly well in this game.
He missed multiple throws.
He had multiple turnovers.
He was loose with the ball.
He wasn't, he didn't keep it up here.
But it's that kind of savvy backyard footballness that has gotten Josh Allen to the place he's at.
I think the noise is a lot louder.
I don't think it matters how loud it is to the public.
I think you can see it in the press conferences.
I saw a clip that someone put out of like 2019, 2021, 2021, like Josh Allen and these
heartbreaking last minute drives where he like,
gets, you know, defeated by the Mahomes and the Burroughs and the Lamars.
And it's, you see him handle the press confidence.
He's like, yeah, it's really heartbreaking.
We'll get in the offseason.
We'll do whatever.
And every single season, it's more and more sad to the point where we get to this 20, 25,
2026 playoffs, and he's in tears being like, I've let my teammates down.
And then it cuts right over to Dion Dawkins, who hears him make that comment.
He gets choked up.
He starts crying about it.
And a multitude of guys being like, dude, this guy's putting it all on the shoulders.
it's not on him. It's not on him.
You just, you, as a player watching all of those post-game, like, interviews, you just
understand as a player, like, how you're able to, you witness how close this team is with
each other. And you know at the end of the year when it is all over, it's going to be a completely
new team the next year because changes get made. The game is the game.
There's no, new head coach. Yeah, new head coach now, McDermott getting fired.
Yeah, what do you guys make of that? I know you guys are going into that, but.
Yeah, yeah. But it's not like it's going to be this momentum thing that goes into the next year.
you know that this is kind of a bow is on this season.
I think what sucks too is when you look at the C.J. Stroud, Josh Allen comparison
in these two like heartbreaking style shitty losses is there's never like a thought in my mind
that Josh Allen is getting some type of yips or folding under pressure.
I agree.
Or this.
He's just he's like a gamer.
He's an elite quarterback who had a tough game and obviously you see the way he's reacting after the game.
Takes it.
Whereas his emotions on a sleeve.
understands that he missed out on a huge opportunity.
To whereas like when I'm watching C.J. Stroud, I'm getting into the last couple drives or
the last drive of that first half where he's just missing these incomplete passes. He's missing
guys. And you just kind of see the look on his face. It's like, oh, man, this moment feels
like it's on top of him. I just, I never get that sense with Josh Allen to where it's like,
oh, this quarterback's in the playoffs. He's going to lose at some point. It's more of just, yeah,
I don't know. I don't know how to like fully articulate it other than like the dude is a baller.
dude's a gamer.
It sucks that he goes down and loses or he lost this game, but he is the entire,
he is the biggest reason this team is even at that point.
Because, again, they were a sixth seed going into, going into the Broncos, the one seat.
Yeah.
I agree with what you're saying as far as like, CJ Stroud and Josh Allen feel very different
to me.
You look at Josh Allen, it's like, without Josh, the bills don't make the playoffs.
They're not in contention to even win a Super Bowl.
C.J. Stroud and the season that he's had, coupled with the defense that they have
that has equalized and kept the unders alive
and every fan duel better's dream
when they watched a Houston Texan step on the field.
It's like if CJ just took care of the football,
we're talking about the Texans probably playing
in the AFC championship.
Yeah.
That's the difference is CJ was,
and this sounds like way more critical than it should be,
but he is more of the reason why they lost
as opposed to Josh Allen.
He was the reason, like there's reasons why they lost
because of some of his play,
but they would not be in the game
if Josh Allen wasn't playing in the,
the game. Does that make sense? The Texans were three and oh, and and and, and yeah, you get
Davis, like, was it Davis, Mills? Davis Mills. Like, he, he played really well. I'm a fan of C.J. Stroud.
I'm a fan of, like, how much he loves the game, the way he operates. I think this is a perfect year for him.
We'll get into that in our Jim Beam segment, but like, I think this is a year where this is, you have all
the delusion and the hatred in your mind to motivate you in the soft season. Yeah. How you can be like,
it's me against the world. Nobody believes me. Even.
and my teammates don't believe in me,
but I'm still going to go do X, Y, and Z.
Yeah.
I do have a good stat that I think would make Bill's fans very happy
and make Josh Allen very happy.
The last quarterback to win a Super Bowl without a child
was Ben Rathesberger back in 2006, so almost 20 years.
Haley Seinfeld is pregnant.
Next year, he will be a father.
Things are looking up for Josh Allen.
Dad strength.
Yeah, that dad strength, that extra little dad power
that he's going to have.
And too, like even the, when it goes to, oh, everybody's so hard, gets so hard on
Lamar Jackson when Lamar loses a playoff game.
To me, it's like when Lamar gets in the playoffs, there are those games in the playoffs
where it just seems like he's playing out of character.
Whereas Josh, like, yeah, you can't have those turnovers.
But again, it's like, to your point, he's the reason they're in the game and even competing
there at the very end.
Whereas on the Texans one, you're in the game because that defense is so elite.
Like, you know, New England could have ran away with that one.
Yeah, like Josh Allen has created enough evidence for us to fall back on,
hey, like we know you're going to make those mistakes,
but at the same time, like, you're the reason why.
Because you play this way is the reason why we always have the opportunity.
Yeah.
To essentially be a Super Bowl contender.
And I just think going to the McDermott topic of conversation,
like I don't know how much I love it.
I don't know if I like it at all, to be totally honest.
I think if you were the ownership of the bills,
it's more on you from an ownership standpoint because,
who's the GM for the Eagles again, Rosen?
Howie Roseman.
If Hallie Roseman has Josh Allen, how aggressive is he going to be in the, like,
acquiring talent to assemble around him?
Probably more aggressive.
Like, you see the talent that he's established on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Keon Coleman's probably not on the scene.
Right.
Keon Coleman had a touchdown yesterday, but he's been, he was an act of what, like five or six
games this year?
Healthy scratch.
And that's just, to me, it's like, is Sean McDermott's issue who's like the
CEO defensive-minded guy, because you have Joe Brady, who's a proven OC, who's a head coaching
candidate for a lot of people. But like, if you look at the roster, other than the past defense,
they've got a good past defense, they've got a great left tackle, and a fast running back. Like,
you don't have pieces around you where it's like, Josh, we're giving you every opportunity to win
right now. Josh, Josh has only a finite amount of years to go win these Super Bowls. You have to be
extremely aggressive, max out your cap. Go get the best players you possibly can.
so you can go win a Super Bowl.
Because you're getting to the divisional rounds
and the ASU championships with Josh Allen.
Imagine if you put a few pieces around them
that's like these guys not only help your team,
but elevate your star player as well
who's arguably the best player in the NFL.
Am I landing a plane here at all in saying that?
Because when it comes to McDermott, it's like,
I understand, but I'm not watching the game
with his management, his clock manager,
or anything like that, thinking,
oh, he's not handling the pressure of the situation
of what he's supposed to do the correct way
or incorrect way.
I'm watching it like,
it really seems like this is a team
that's being lifted
and Josh Allen is dragging a team along with him.
And it's,
I sound like I'm disrespecting players.
I'm not,
I'm just saying a player of that caliber,
you need players with that caliber as well.
Go make big swings in the trades
to go get a true wide receiver one.
Guys, that might be a little upset
with the situation there.
The first person that comes to mind is Justin Jefferson.
Like, you look at a Justin Jefferson,
the season he's had,
it's like the first year he didn't have a thousand yards.
James McCarthy,
to be seen whether he can be the guy like what is your situation next year i'm sure justin
jefferson's agent is getting a call relaying that information to him and being like i would love to
play with josh allen i know i'm going to get the ball i'm going to have 10 targets a game and if you
get that now you have a wide receiver one that you have to now defensively scheme for which is going
to allow the Shakirs and the the Coleman's to have more one-on-once more open space whether they're a
leader not as irrelevant because you've leveled the playing field we're just adding one
addition right because your offensive line's good enough yeah you're you're
I think Brown and Dawkins are great tackles.
They're awesome.
In the middle, I'm not as familiar with,
but you have kind of everything you need.
And so getting Mederman out of there,
you're just now adding a new wrinkle to your offseason
that you don't need to add when you could go in and get people.
Right, right.
It's just having other pieces
because right now when you game playing against the Buffalo Bills,
it's all about Josh Allen.
Josh Allen, it's not the defense.
It's not the guys around them.
Like, obviously there's a level of respect
because James Cook is a stud.
They have those three tight-in, those two and three tight-in sets that they utilize and build a good offensive game playing around.
But the target is always Josh Allen.
So if you have other guys, other guys around them to where they're winning because of other people outside of Josh Allen.
It's like every time they win, it's because Josh Allen is having some incredible football game.
Right.
Yeah.
And then you look at the Broncos, man.
You're just heartbroken for them too.
Heartbroken for the boy, Bo, Knicks.
Yeah.
Who do you think?
What?
Gets the bill's job.
So you bring up another point.
Right now, if I'm a coach who has signed with the team, so if I'm a hardball signing with the Giants, who's a Stifansky with the Falcons, right now I'm trying to pull a college football portal move on everybody.
Yeah, exactly.
You're like, hey, okay, how wet is the ink?
Let me dip out of here.
Yeah, how wet is the ink?
Because right now, anybody who's made any progress with any team, hey, Titans are dialed in on these top.
three candidates. What is it? Like Nagy.
Who else? Nagy, D.C. for
the Packers and Sala.
Yeah, Sala. I know Brian Flores
is getting, he's getting a second interview with the Steelers.
Every coach on the market right now
is pushing pause and telling
their agent, hey, until the bills
say I have zero shot,
try to get me in a room with the Buffalo
bills to become their next head coach. And if you're the bills,
do you just elevate internally?
Like Joe Brady is a massive head coaching
candidate that people have wanted.
Do you just say, okay, this is our guy now.
But then to me it turns into
So why we get rid of McDermott?
Because you had the O.C.
If Joe Brady was like,
I'm going to leave this year
to say a head coaching job,
I understand the, you know,
addition by subtraction kind of method
that takes place with Joe,
Joe Brady.
But if that happens,
it's like, dude,
we had all the pieces.
Yeah.
As of about five minutes ago,
the bills promoted
Brandon being their GM
on top of his current role
to president of football operation.
So they're saying he's going to lead
the entire search.
So it's going to go down on him.
Friend of the show.
Friend of the show.
Brandon of the show.
Brandon Beam.
Yeah, I'll get it done.
I wonder, like right now my brain,
I'm like wondering who he has like relationships with in the past who could have this fast track to become the head coach.
I think it's worth trying to reach out.
Is that where you want to go?
One person you reach out to immediately, Mike Tomlin, no?
Yeah.
Do you reach out to Mike Tomlin?
I think he said that he wants to like take a year off.
He's like not expected to be coaching next year.
Granted.
Everyone's got a plan.
There's a number.
for everybody.
So,
but I truly do feel like
he kind of wants to take a break
after being with the Steelers
for 20-some years.
Did you see the Mike Tomlin
meme from the weekend?
He was at his daughter's
gymnastics event.
I think she is a gymnast for Georgia.
And there's a picture of him
and it looks like he's not tired.
It's like Mike Tomlin
finally got a full night's rest
for the first time of 19 years.
That was awesome.
I'm sure there's a piece
and that feels very fulfilled.
You have to trade for Mike Tomlin,
by the way.
Yeah, because technically
the Steelers full of us right.
Yeah.
So Buffalo would have to give up something.
Maybe Tom Brady they hire?
No.
Tom Brady's already a minority owner in the Raiders.
Is that not a massive conflict of interest?
Yeah, yeah, he would.
Yeah.
If anybody can figure it out, it'd be Tom.
No doubt.
They're focused on figuring out who's going to lead the Raiders.
Like Bill Belichick to the bills?
Because how many jobs are open right now?
You got the Raiders, you got the Cardinals, you got the Titans.
Six, seven.
Steelers
Ravens
Cleveland
Bill's
Cleveland
Miami
Yeah Miami
Yeah that's another reason
All for everything you just listed
All these head coaching
Yeah you guys
Titans are screwed
We're screwed in a big way
Because now everyone's like now turn their attention
This is the meme with the guy holding hands with the girl
Looking back at the other girl
Like that's what's happening with the bills
But all the head coaching
Vacancies that are taking
place coupled with there's like three or four names if you're the bills like why make this
move now yeah because it does not feel like a hot coaching carousel right like a ben jonson
out there by the way ben jones that's what i mean it's like i wonder like what new head coaches
we're going to see because even former ones uh don't you see a day ball has he signed yet
no he interviewed for the eagles o c chefty's tweet dude
It made me so mad.
It said, Brian Dayball has interviewed for the Eagles OC job,
also interviewed for Titans head coaching job.
I was like, that means that Eagles OC job is more attractive than our Titans
coaching job.
It might be, Daniel.
Does he get another shot as a head coach or is he going to go be an OC somewhere for a year?
It's going to be interesting to see what head coaches come into this new,
coming to these new jobs.
Do what?
The Seahawks defensive coordinator?
Who's calling the plays there?
That's what I want to know.
I feel like at Seattle.
Yeah.
It's Kubiak.
Kubiak is the offensive coordinator.
Yeah.
I'm talking about defense.
I think McDonald's is calling the play.
They live in that world that LaFleur lives in
where you kind of check two boxes by checking one.
And McDermott was like a defensive-minded guy
because I'm also thinking like,
do you get like a defensive-minded head coach for the Buffalo Bills?
I think you do.
Joe Brady is staying.
If Joe Brady stays, yes.
If Joe Brady stays, you go defense.
I think Mike McDaniel wouldn't be bad here in Tennessee.
I think he was handcuffed a little bit with his talent
of quarterback in Miami.
And I think Cam Ward, like, he has shown flashes.
Yeah.
And that does seem like what's coming out of Miami because I was watching,
I want to say it was Darren Waller interviewing with Mansell,
kind of breaking down the brain of Mike McDaniel
and how everything's going to go, like in-game,
some of the adjustments he makes in-game.
And it seems like players just talk highly of Coach McDaniel.
Yeah, which is very interesting because we were sitting here,
or we were told a lot of ways, like he's not an alpha in the room.
People don't really like him.
He's losing the locker room.
Yeah.
And they pop off five of six.
He's losing their job.
Mike McDaniels wouldn't be a bad pick for the Titans.
What about him is OC?
Matt Malone, I'm giving him the credit for this.
But Robert Sala is the head coach, Mike McDaniel is OC.
That would be.
Yeah, now you're operating.
A massive game of the Titans.
Now you are now operating.
That would make too much shit.
too much sense and I feel like because of there's
Shrem just put it up there's 10
head coach vacancies essentially
almost a third of the entire NFL including the
bills you're not going to be able to take
two top head coaching
candidates make one an O.C
and make one a head coach. We'll get to
ask Jeff Simmons who he'd like to see
that's true he comes on the bus to see a little
peaksky because I still think
Arthur Smith for the Titans is a
massive dub
yeah
yeah he'd be
he's in a tough spot.
It's not like he had the most successful year with the Steelers.
And then the resume he does have as a head coach is going to be the Falcons.
Because I agree with you.
It's like we've been around art.
Like this friend of the show.
Like he,
arts a beast.
Very good player friendly coach.
I'm sure he's learned a lot from his first in in Atlanta as a head coach.
But had kind of a had a,
felt like a tough year with the Steelers because all the injuries that they had
offensively and just not a whole lot of weapons and a whole lot of pieces.
It's just going to be hard for him.
to, I feel like, sell himself over some of these head coaching candidates that are in there.
But I do feel like he's on that tier with all the head coaches on the board right now.
What about the DC from L.A.?
I think Don Shula.
I know Shula's been in a few conversations.
Yeah, I think he's had like a couple interviews.
I don't know where.
But he seems like he would be the real deal.
Yeah.
I got a fun stat on Arthur Smith.
So these are all the quarterbacks he's had, whether being an O.C. or a head coach,
their win percentage without Arthur Smith coaching them is 36.11%.
That's Tannahill, Matt Ryan, Marcus Marriota, Desmond Ritter, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rogers.
With Arthur Smith, the season's yet, Arthur Smith, that number jumps up to 55.24%.
So a 20% swing, almost a 20% swing.
and then since he's left them, they dropped down to 42%.
It's good stat.
It's a good stat.
All I heard was 20% increase.
20% increase.
Matt Ryan, you got confused.
Matt Ryan and Aaron Rogers.
They won a lot of games without him.
Arthur Smith's impact on seven quarterbacks, win-loss record and starts since
Tanna Hill start on October 20th, 2019.
So this since 2019.
So when he took over for Ryan Tannahill,
The game after we played the Broncos in 2019, 2018, whatever that was,
that is the percentages that take place.
Got a bunch more, too, but, you know, we got to.
I like the thought Arthur Smith, too, just because of the history he has in the Titans organization.
He cut his teeth in here, climb the ladder here.
He understands how the ownership typically works, how the city works, the fan base.
He understands more.
I got two Titans fans in the back that have been very quiet during it all, though.
I'd love to hear what they have to say.
I don't want Arthur Smith.
I also think that our organization is trash.
I don't think anyone understands them.
I just don't think that there's enough credible things he's done
since he left the Falcons since he's been with the Steelers
that makes me want other.
There's other people I'd want ahead of him,
but I don't personally want him.
I think he had his chance as a head coach with the Falcons
and it didn't pan out.
He's back as an OC.
If you want to come and be our OC with Asala
and Mike McDaniel, sure.
I'll talk about that, but I don't personally want him as our head coach.
I don't think it's the right time for the Titans organization, so that's where I sit.
But I know that, you know, he's a friend of the show.
I'm not trying to dog him as a person, but...
You like bigger names out there.
Here's another stat.
Arthur Smith is the only offensive coordinator in modern NFL history to elevate seven different running backs to a thousand yards from a scrimmage in a seven-year span.
Derek Henry.
He'll...
He went from, let me look at this real quick, 1,140 yards.
Derek Henry, the next year, 2,100 yards.
Cordell Patterson, 1,100 yards.
Tyler Algilar, Alger, thank you.
He had 1,100 yards, Bejohn-Robinson, 1,400.
Naja Harris, 1,300.
Jalen Warren, 1,000, and Kenneth Gainwell, 1,023.
He knows how to run the football.
He knows how to run the football.
I'll take Arthur Smith as the OC of the Eagles if he doesn't get a head coach job.
Sounds like a great coach to me.
I would assume Art would be like a sought after OC like in this carousel,
but it seems like he wants a second shot as a head coach.
It's tough, too, to hold the Falcons stint against him because of just the situation with
yeah, Marriota, Ritter.
Yeah.
Like not a whole lot of pieces.
Yeah.
Go ahead.
Sherman, what you got?
Will Compton and Taylor 1, I want to publicly apologize to you and our listeners.
the last non-father to win a Super Bowl
was actually Aaron Rogers.
So just want to put that out there.
That was 20-10.
Aaron Rogers.
And I'm not.
Good accountability.
Hand up.
Good job.
It was Aaron Rogers.
That was a nice show.
I was a fun stat.
Let's see what else we got here.
So we hit on Broncos Patriots.
Or we hit on Broncos bills.
It felt like we hit on Patriots.
Texans.
Yeah, we can go to the NFC in a second.
Let's quickly.
talk about a taste of the off season real quick.
We want to taste the off season?
Yeah, for the Houston Texans.
We want to pour one out.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news,
huge news?
We created our own podcast called,
Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name,
Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't.
remember. I think it was on a call about
what we should call it.
We were thinking, I'm originally
calling it one of the
early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say
Hey Jonas, and then I
wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title
for the podcast. But thanks for
remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas, Jonas,
on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy,
not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for bands.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay.
Jen Chinchin win.
I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm very.
Delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lernerabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your court side seat to the French Open.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraging.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
We're going to pour one out for them.
It's time to taste of the off season brought to you by
Jim Beam because when your team gives you lemons, you make Jim Beam and lemonade.
Listen, if you're a Houston, Texas fan out there, and I know I'm a Titans guy speaking
to you right now, look at your defense.
All your pieces are still there for the next year.
Daniel Hunter, Will Anderson, Stingley in the back, all Shiree.
Shiree.
Is Shire coming back?
Allegedly.
What's his for, hey, hey, it's not for defense.
We're pouring one out for the boys right now.
It can be difficult when you look on the offensive side of the ball.
Nico Collins gets hurt.
CJ Stroud has what six interceptions or six turnovers and six quarters at one point in the last two games.
Four interceptions.
And your heart is probably hurting being like, is C.J. Strout the guy, right? Incredible.
First year, sophomore slump. Third year, they won a lot. They're undefeated when he wasn't starting.
Junior slump. Junior slump. Here does you have to go is C.J. Stroud is a true competitor.
I hate to state. He did a great job when he was at Ohio State. True competitor.
Now you have a guy with all the talent in the world who's a touch passer type of guy who could put a nice little loft on the ball
Lays it in there when he needs to he is now going to the offseason with the kill everybody mentality
He's gonna go into that thing of people don't believe in me the fans don't the coaching staff doesn't the players don't
The ownership doesn't everybody is against me which is the best way an athlete gets better in the off season is when he believes that no one believes in him
So I think from a tewson-textant standpoint you guys
overachieved this year
and next year with a pissed off
CJ Stroud
sky's the limit
sky is the limit for you guys
something to think about
something to think about
Texans did not play
like Joe Mixon didn't play at all this year
he's a stud
they also did not play without Tank Dell
yeah
also a stud
let's talk about the Seattle Seahawks
absolutely
do we also taste the off season
I don't want to put
I don't want to put any bad juju
too go ahead
but taste of the off season
pour one out for Bo Nix and the Broncos.
Yeah.
Or do we don't want to touch offseason in Broncos yet
because they're still in the season.
Yeah, you pour one out after.
And the lines are four and a half.
I saw a sherman pull that up.
Like that's not a bad line.
It's not a bad line.
It's like Rams, Rams bears were three and a half.
That's one point more.
Pour one out for the emotion you're feeling with Bo Nix.
But the optimism, you got a shot.
Right.
You pour one out.
You take your gym beam,
your lemonade, you mix together,
and you're pissed off about the idea
of Bo Nix not being there.
But halfway through,
that delicious drink.
You think to yourself, we still got a shot.
And then you're watching Stidham highlights being like opportunity.
That's all this is.
Put on some Baylor film.
You just cracked the code.
Yeah.
A nice gym beam and lemonade and Stidham highlights.
Now you're hitting the boys up and you're like, fellas, everybody's sleeping on us.
You guys being on negative in the group chat and you just send the link, be like, talk to me after you watch this.
Boom.
Kind of nice.
Because I kind of like Stidim.
I have watched no film.
I've watched zero film on him.
Good looking cat.
Saw a clip.
Saw a clip.
Handsome boy.
Saw a photo of him.
I mean,
he's real.
I don't want to bring Nebraska into this,
but I watched the UNLV quarterback.
I saw one clip of him.
I'm thinking these guys,
they got the vibes back.
Yeah.
They got the vibes back.
Technically, they got a starting quarterback
to replace their backup quarterback.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Right?
Anthony Castellano.
Hey, Castellanos.
Calandria.
Get him a canola.
Sit him up there.
Put him next to Anthony Soprano.
We're good.
And you have, dude, you're a quarterback.
Last year is a backup at Oregon.
Now you got this kid who's fucking got the juice.
Yeah.
He's got the juice.
You know, he's got it?
He's already got Jim Beeman lemonade.
He's not giving you a lemon in a season.
Yeah.
He's already got that.
Seattle Seahawks and the 49ers.
Brock Purdy.
Got to give him a round of applause.
Maybe a moment of silence after that.
I don't know.
George Kittle, Heartbreak Hotel.
What do you got, Will?
What about pouring one out for the Chicago Bears?
Let's pour out for the Chicago Bears.
And a lot of optimism going into the next year.
Yeah, because you're like, hey, this Caleb Williams kid,
we went from kind of being like, we don't, we're not, we're not a fan of him, Ben Johnson,
and this kid aren't getting along.
There's a lot of hatred taking place in camp early in the season.
Wild card game, Caleb Williams is wearing his high school football jersey walking into the game.
Yeah.
Kids hitting the Jordan symbol against the Packers.
fourth and eight running backwards and yipp it in the air perfect throw yeah so sick i don't see how like
if you're a fan of football and love watching the NFL like if you're not just uh like if you're a rams
fan you obviously want your team to win but everybody else i don't know how you don't get a little
giddy seeing the chicago bears take the field in the fourth quarter like i'd be like you you sit there
you see them you're like man are the bears going to do it again are they going to do it again i thought
they were going to do it again they had all the momentum in the world they did and then dj more decided
Let's take this one off.
This is what pisses me off about.
Tell me what pisses you off.
Greg, not coming on this show today.
Oh.
This is Pet Peeve.
Go ahead.
You're like Ben Johnson.
This is this aggressive coach.
Go forward on fourth down.
We're going to win aggressive.
We're going to win.
We're going to play the way the identity that got us here at all times.
And then when you score at the end of the game, like, why not go for two?
Even when they won earlier in this, like early in the season like a month before that,
they got in a similar situation.
they kicked the extra point to tie it up,
they go into O.T. and beat the team.
But again, it's like, why aren't they going for two
when you can go and just win the game right there,
or try to win the game right there in regulation?
Based on this aggressive style of coaching,
like we're going to go for it on fourth town,
we're going to do all these things.
Because if you look at him being conservative,
kicking the extra point, going into overtime,
I'm also sitting back.
Why not take the points throughout the game?
Because then you're up 1917.
Yeah.
Because Santos hit a 48-yarder easy.
And there were there are moments where
where again, Caleb Williams
it was either the first drive or second drive.
He throws the interception on fourth down when they turn it over,
turn it over on downs.
They went forward on fourth down.
He kind of sails it.
But that interceptions on Caleb Williams,
he had them just dropping back to him in the pocket.
This dude's got to be,
again, you've got to have a gun to his head when he's rolling out.
That's when he makes plays.
You can't just have him sit in the pocket, pat his feet,
and try to deliver an accurate ball.
So that one sales.
And then the other one,
I would say they,
well, it was just turned over on downs, right?
they just failed to convert.
There are two for five.
Yeah, they failed to convert to two.
One happened to be an interception.
But if you kick those field goals and in your brain they make them extra points or field goals,
that's six points right there.
You're kicking a field goal at the end of the game instead of trying to go for it to get a touchdown.
I love the thought of it being the divisional round against the Rams.
You go down after that crazy touchdown and there's, what, 35 seconds on the clock, 25 seconds,
whatever it was, and Ben Johnson having the balls to sit there and go,
you know what, we're going to go for two, and we're going to finish the game right now.
We're going to the result of the game right after this, as opposed to going to overtime.
That seems to be his identity in every other situation.
Dan Campbell, what do you have?
Bro, playoffs are so different.
Like, it feels different, right?
Like, I'm watching the game last night sitting back being like, oh, my God.
Like, I'm feeling the pressure of this game.
And I'm laying in bed shirtless, just.
I think Campbell.
Yeah.
I think Campbell goes for it.
I think it a couple more Lucy's and just put on my lap, like, this is crazy, huh?
I feel like.
I feel like if Caleb Williams was like actually operating, like pinpointing the ball,
not just being able to stay in the pocket and like he'll sail one every once in a while.
I feel like Ben Johnson has more confidence in him, but he's so, he's literally 50-50 on his last two games.
It's like you don't know.
But, okay, gun to the head move that Will just talked about, two-point conversion, end of the game.
Like that is, what are you going to do?
This is, he's going to look around.
There's no one going to be there.
He's going to scramble around.
He's going to end up on the 25-yard line.
And then coverage is going to break down.
The play call is this.
Because when Caleb Williams has his feet set, ball up high and tight, steps into it,
clean pocket, that ball is an incompletion pass.
Incomplete pass as an interception.
When Caleb Williams feels the pressure of 285-pound men coming down on him,
that's when the boy's at his best.
Are you?
Yeah, let me run backwards.
Let me run backwards 20 yards
before I throw this one up.
And then reset up.
And dude,
when he's running the ball,
he didn't do any drills at the combine.
He didn't run a 40.
He's fast as fuck.
It's kind of like when Lamar Jackson
didn't do the combine
because in his brain he was like,
they're going to try to move me to a skill position.
I kind of feel like that with Caleb Williams.
Bro, when he is running,
he's running at a different speed
than the defensive linemen
and he's running out of the pocket.
And then he's like,
oh, I can't throw the ball down field.
I'm going to have to run for this first down.
The gear he hits is incredible.
I think he has the most amount of plays,
I think over 20 miles an hour.
I don't know if that's through everybody
or just from quarterbacks.
Got to be.
But even still.
It is so impressive to watch.
And if he could just figure out basic quarterback play,
do you know what I'm saying?
All the things that the kids are doing right now in the playgrounds
where they're running up and people are saying,
Mahomes, like, ruin the game.
These kids are just doing this.
He's got that down pat.
He's got all that down pat.
If he could figure out a step up in the pocket, hit the hips and just throw it.
His arm is unreal.
Incredible, dude.
And the play call, too, for Coach Johnson at the end of the game is just you talk into Caleb Williams
that set and you just say, hey, call your play.
Right.
Do whatever you want to do.
Yeah.
I'm going to call this play for you right now, but do whatever.
I'll tell you what, here's how Ben Johnson can learn from this season to his next season as a head coach in the NFL.
every game going into the season,
there needs to be like an anonymous letter at his desk,
like threatening his family
or some sort of attack that's going to take place
if he doesn't win the game.
Like it's got to be that dramatic
because it seems like the more pressure you put on Caleb Williams,
the better he is.
I mean, that's been in the spot,
the situations that they were in all year.
Again, it's still, I think about,
I've thought about this too much.
I'm like, why are you not going for it
on that last touchdown?
like going for two.
Yeah.
I thought about it then,
but then even the pressure in my brain
was like, oh, that's too much.
I know, but bro, think about, again,
even if it's like, yeah,
Dan Campbell probably goes by Ben Johnson's
is OC when this stuff has happened.
Obviously, they're still aggressive this year
without Ben Johnson.
But you play this aggressive style,
and all of a sudden,
when you have a chance to just win the game,
you go out right there on your sword if you have to.
Because it's like I'm scrolling through X last night
and I see Shreger talking about
I humbly disagree with the sentiment from the halftime show.
Ben Johnson's been aggressive all season on fourth down.
Part of the bear's identity and what they are about.
In this weather, a field goal attempt is not a sure thing.
Either be you, be what got you here.
And to me it's like, go for two.
Go for two.
Yeah, you sold me on it.
And how many times are we going to see a message like this at the end of every
in every postseason where somebody's just being overly aggressive?
Like, when are those teams just going to win the Super Bowl?
Yeah.
Because I feel like we get those every year now with the analytics
and going for it and being aggressive on fourth down.
It always ends.
The season always ends with some failed attempt on fourth down,
not taking the points.
And it's like, hey, disagree.
They need to be who they are.
Be what got them there all season long.
Right.
When are those teams going to start winning the Super Bowl?
Well, the most conservative team this weekend
still has an opportunity to win the Super Bowl,
and that's the Rams.
Third and seven, right before the two-minute warning,
running the ball.
Tough.
You tweeted about it.
Clump this morning.
I forgot to dab him up.
He gets in my face about not dabbing up.
But the second thing he says to me,
is John McVeigh's just not going to do the ball right there.
You got Devante Adams.
You got Pooka Nukuwa.
Yeah, but you just, you knew going into the game, first series,
when they showed McVeigh on TV and he's got those finger,
fingerless gloves on.
I'm like, McVeigh, you can't be doing that.
You can't be doing that.
Yeah.
You got the beanie on.
Look, I get it.
It's cold.
It's cold.
But when you look, when you look across the field and see Ben Johnson and just,
he's got, you know, he's got the sweatshirt on.
He's got the stuff to stay warm up top.
But when he's bare hands and just a hat on,
you're getting Alford right there.
I knew it was going to be a tough day for them offensively
right when I saw McVeigh, and he's holding the play call sheet,
and he's got his finger sticking out of those, like, those gloves.
It seems like they could transition to mittens, buddy, you can't.
Yeah, you kind of pop them over the top.
Yeah, I know what you're saying.
Yeah, classic 90s burglar gloves.
I'll have to shoot him a message.
Hey, we can't be having this shit.
Next week, you got a tape.
You got to tape your fingers.
White tape?
Yeah.
That'd be nice.
Yeah, that play.
that third and seven pissed me off.
Seeing that, it's like, dude, what are we, what are we doing here?
You, the whole year you've thrown the ball.
You have the, you have the MVP of the league.
You have Puka Nukuha, who's, what, the best wide receiver?
We can say the best wide receiver this year?
Yeah?
Yeah.
Devante Adams can route up anybody in the entire world.
You can run it.
I couldn't believe Devante didn't have a catch all game until late in that fourth quarter.
Puka only had like 40 yards.
I fucking bet on him.
Yeah, that fair is that.
That bear's defense really showed up.
Overtime, too, McVeigh, those last two plays second and third down,
they threw an outside deep ball to a tight end on the right sideline,
and then a slot fade to the tight end.
Didn't target Puka or Devante Adams.
And then what pissed me off the most about McVeigh,
13 seconds left in regulation, two timeouts,
takes a knee, goes into overtime.
The last time a team had 13 seconds and two timeouts to tie the game
or take the lead was Kansas City Chiefs against the bills,
and they tied it and then beat Josh Allen in overtime.
Didn't even try to win the game in regulation.
Two time out.
You're saying Sean McVeigh's gotten a little soft.
I think the cold weather got to him for sure.
Those little fingerless gloves or whatever he got.
Like you could tell the cold weather.
He's not, he's a good-looking dude.
He ain't made for the cold weather.
He is a good-looking dude.
The outfit he had on is one where he looks.
He's like, oh, I look cute today.
He put that on.
He went up to one of his assistant coaches and goes,
what do you think?
And that's where that's the accountability of the assistance he to have.
allowing him to walk out.
So what bustle what the boys are saying
is Shaw McVey has too many yes men in his building.
Not enough grit is what you guys are saying.
Are you saying that is Clumps saying that
Sean McVeigh's bitch made?
No, I'm not saying that.
That's kind of what he said.
I just saw a stat come out too.
McVeigh, he turns 40 this weekend.
But he is the only coach
was it like 10 plus wins in the postseason
which doubles anybody else before the age of 40.
McVeigh not bitch made,
but cold weather got to him.
yesterday. Well, McVeigh's headed up to Seattle next weekend.
How do we feel about that? Tough game.
It's going to be tough to win in Seattle the way that defense is playing,
the way Walker's running the football. Sam Darnold's silencing the critics.
Yeah.
Going out there, balling out.
That is the biggest storyline to come out of that game because the 49ers were dead.
Yeah.
But it was, hey, can Sam Donald not just be a good, irregular season quarterback?
Can he go in the playoffs and get himself a win?
Yeah.
The optimism that the 9th.
had going into this game is that if they score first and put that pressure on Sam
Donald, he won't be able to get it done.
And then they scored 17 points in the first quarter.
Opening kickoff Rashid Shaheed.
Yeah.
Best acquisition during the season in the NFL.
That play, that play was like the fifth loudest play of all time in the NFL.
Well, think about the juice taking place, man, because that building is loud.
It is so hard to play there.
It shook that apartment building that the first.
and was filming
in that viral clip.
Structurally, that's terrifying.
What a great year for the NFC West.
The rivalries going on,
having another divisional game
for the NFC championship.
Having that game against the Niners' arrival.
And it was in front of our faces the whole time.
Doing the futures episode we did in the locker room,
I don't think any of us really thought about it
until we were in there talking about the NFC West,
we realized, oh, this is the best division.
Yeah.
People aren't talking about this division enough.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think the Seattle Seahawks are headed to the Super Bowl.
Could you imagine that being your apartment view?
That'd be sick.
Yeah, that would be awesome.
That would be awesome.
Seattle's a dope-ass city too.
It's a fun city.
The two games we've seen with Rams in Seattle, they've both been bangers.
Last time, Seattle and Rams played.
Clay Matthews hit a 15-league parlay.
something to think about something to think about so whatever clay comes with because his pick i think the first
game the he bet the under on the bill's broncos game overhead so that's even with the line
moved what seven or eight points so we need him to come with a 15 lake got to come with
some heat this week on the locker room we need him to come with a 15 lake we need to tell them
hey you got to build a 15 lake parlay for the locker room yeah yeah need it got to happen
Hey, money line.
Like Clay, are you going to live up to the name or you got the name now and you're just going to live off your past successes?
Ooh.
That's the question.
Is he washed?
Is Clay washed?
Oh, no.
Clay recommend the gloves to be bag.
Oh.
I can see Clay being a fingerless glove guy.
L.A. cat.
Oh, my wife got him.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Man.
That's tough for Clay, man.
49ers pouring out for them as well.
pour one out for the nine years.
Injured again.
Did you see it?
Love to give you some optimism.
I feel like they were just, they were not,
this guy's not like I'm shitting on it,
but they were kind of like a walking corpse the whole time.
Like, you just couldn't kill them.
Seattle finally did.
I think, right.
They were just a living dead, just conquering every game they stepped into.
Yeah, it just shows how Shannon how good for coach he is.
Yeah, 100%.
Because, buddy, this was the inevitably going to happen,
but seeing them operate throughout the season with the injuries,
Mack Jones crushing it.
It was an incredible weekend.
that was the only game where I'm just like second half I kind of just I'm like I was moving on to doing something else yeah I had really not a whole lot of intention to watching that game because I just knew it was going to happen still hit the first half I saw on a Twitter that players are starting to bring up the fact of the electrical substation yeah they're agents it's like hitting up the organization gaining traction terminal list did that the doctor that came out with the doctor that came out with that first like article about it pulled our video from the locker room of Delaney talking about it did that the doctor that came out with that first like article about it pulled our video from the locker room of Delaney talking about.
about how it was a thing back when he was there.
So like, shout out us.
Shout out to Lange.
Shut out us.
Shout out, us.
Shout out us.
Yeah, ma'am.
Good weekend of football.
Who, going around, who you guys, who's your Super Bowl pick?
Who you think's going to be in the Super Bowl?
Seahawks, Patriots, and I think Seahawks win.
Oh, Rams?
Patriots, Rams win.
I'm going to go.
Broncos upset the Patriots.
Nice.
Rams,
Rams win the Super Bowl.
Matt Stafford wins MVP and Super Bowl.
I make that matchup.
Jesse retires everybody off.
Rams and Broncos.
People will be like,
we're not watching.
Numbers will be lower than ever.
I'll watch.
Seahawks and the Patriots,
and I think the Seahawks get it done.
And if the Seahawks do make the Super Bowl,
they should wear their throwback uniform because it's awesome.
Seahawks.
That's a take that needs to get
traction. They should wear those full time.
Clean take.
Those are arguably the best uniforms in football.
Seahawks Patriots, got the Seahawks.
Would love to see, I would hate for my mental health to see the Patriots win, but would love
to see it for Rable.
But I do think the Seahawks will win it.
Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.

I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.

Seahawks Broncos, Ernest Jones.
Ernest Jones, Nikki Minwari,
holding it down on the Seattle defense.
Maybe Nikki Minwari gets MVP.
Maybe first rookie ever.
Oh, yeah, I got Seahawks.
What if it goes, Seahawks, Patriots, Patriots on the goal line?
Last play.
Last play.
Treg May throws the bowl.
Seattle picks it all.
Even more he picks it off.
Just same situation.
Same exact situation.
Who do you got?
You have the Seahawks winning it?
Yeah, I got Seattle.
Seattle. Seattle win it.
I'm going to go Patriots, Seattle.
And I got the Patriots winning.
I like the Patriots.
I like the pressure.
I like Braves.
Daddy Braves.
Getting his first Super Bowl as a head coach.
Yeah.
And the Titans?
And the Titans?
It's not good.
Come on, man.
Finalizing their head coach,
he searches are crazy.
Yeah, it brings up a good point.
We're looking for people for sure.
Does Braves have to cut off his piece if they win?
100%.
100%.
Like that is, we're calling Eletroche.
Does he fulfill his destiny?
Yeah.
If when they win this AFC championship game,
if they win this AFC championship game,
I do think he needs to answer the question
and say, yeah, I'm willing to cut my piece off
to win the Super Bowl.
Do we go to Super Bowl?
days when Mike Brable takes the podium and ask him that question.
A billion percent.
Have to.
Have to.
Show up with some scissors.
Right.
But little tiny scissors.
I've come to fulfill Mike Brable to yesterday.
What we should do is if the Patriots make it, we should get like a gold pair of scissors,
like in a stand that he can put in his office and a little plaque.
Amen.
What's the plaque say?
peaceless since 2026. I don't know.
Willing to do whatever it takes? You just have it written in a plaque with that little
golden scissors. Willing to do whatever it takes. I think that would be a gift that Braves would
love forever. Yeah. Quick random one that's been going around on the internet, which this is
separate of the playoffs, but what team does Khalil Mack belong to? Raiders, bears, or chargers?
He played four seasons with all of them. He had over 35 sacks for each of those teams. He's had a
bunch of total tackles, a bunch of TFLs, and a bunch of quarterback heads.
But four seasons with each team, every single team he produced for.
That's a great question.
Does it like your talk?
Could be.
He had drafted the Raiders.
Like all the high peak of everything.
It feels like Raiders.
Yeah.
40 sacks with the Raiders, 36 with the Bears, 36 and a half with the Chargers.
That's so many.
That is nuts, man.
But he hasn't been in the Bears for eight years?
40. 68 TFL's.
He was on the Raiders for eight years?
Four years.
four years four years for all those teams no they they traded max so they showed you
badly the raiders fell off well clear space to bring you in yeah that's a great question
I don't know the answer that's a great question I did have a if we're wrapping up I did have a fun
little tier talk that gets you all's personal insight on being on the sideline all right at hawks daddy
hashtag tier talk every guy I'm every time I go to an NFL game I catch myself watching the
sidelines, is it really just watching the last series and making adjustments, or is there
more than what the average fan sees? Funny or tense moments, differences of being a rookie versus
veteran, routines, secrets? Great question. Big question. Loaded question. Yeah, as far as
adjustments go, I feel like you're like three series in before like the offensive staff comes up to
you goes, okay, this is the defense they've tried, they've done. They're trying to take this away.
We're going to move to X, Y, and Z in the run game. Yeah. Because we're going to try in the
past game. Very intense, making adjustments on the sideline, and then once that moment's over,
you get some funny moments. Yeah. Sitting there, making fun of a guy who maybe got beat in a play.
Maybe making fun of yourself. Yeah. How big of the lead? Hey, this play's going to show up. Oh,
God, I already know it's probably going around right now. Films will be tough on Monday and we're
already, we're only 10 minutes into the first quarter. Yeah. How big a lead did you guys need
personally before you started making jokes? Or were you okay making jokes down?
It could be a tight ball game.
Yeah, he on the line.
Like, the last play of the game.
And there's a guy timeout.
Somebody calls it time at Kodak timeout.
You're joking around a little bit.
Yeah, yeah.
Got to keep it loose.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I don't envy that situation, though.
Big on the sideline.
Yeah.
And rookie versus vet, like, as a rookie, like, it's just quiet.
Keep your head down.
Yeah, rookie, you just, like, you don't even really know what the game plan is.
You're kind of just doing what they call.
As you get older, you start to understand.
understand the chest moves that are kind of being put in front of everybody.
But as a rookie, you're just like, I hope we win.
That's what's nuts.
Even Worry, like, runs his mouth so much.
Right after the Seahawks and Iers game, he just tweets out, trash.
Golly.
Hey, tonight's the game, national championship.
I know.
Miami, Indiana.
You, who you want?
You're going Indiana to win Miami to cover still?
Yeah, my bet will probably be.
Miami to cover. Is it still eight and a half?
Speaking of half, like adjustments on the
sidelines, say the other team
was able to like know what your adjustments were going to be.
Would that impact the game, you think?
Say that again?
No, I was just asking a question.
If the other team was able to hack
and see what your adjustments were, would that impact you?
How would you know?
A billion percent.
Yeah. If they know what you're doing.
Just asking.
What's the angle of that question?
Indiana's probably going to win big against Miami.
That's mine.
That's mine.
Listen,
if you want to go down the tinfoil hat game of Indiana cheating.
Like Christobal has gone to,
he's gone back to a caveman times of paper and pencil.
That's awesome.
There's been an email sent in two weeks.
And you got to think, too, if that's,
if that's like a real thing,
like Chris Ball's probably doing everything he can to where they're not in a situation
like that.
And if Chris Ball is a head coach,
even if it's just rumor,
like, yeah.
We're just going over this.
We'll give you a binder with all the plays.
The whiteboard would be sick on the side.
break every iPad.
Yeah.
See you later.
Don't even bring them on.
Let me see here.
Let me pull a fan.
Taylor, I did have...
Because I might do...
Because I know in Tennessee,
you can do like totals of rushing yards,
pass yards, total yards.
I might do a little parlay with the Indiana
Money Line and then put a little something together.
Make sure hit the group chat.
Taylor, I got...
I had a fun little tear talk.
This is Sergeant Scuba 22.
So let me take a wild guess at what Willie C is
thinking and they
Notre Dame would be both of these teams
is Stephen spot on
that's for sure going to be a tweet
I just throw out there later tonight
Notre Dame's not being either
lost to one of them already
exactly
would have beat him the second time
I don't think so
I mean going to the playoffs we're like
is Notre Dame a better team than Miami right now
clearly no Miami just turn it on in a hurry
Hurricane.
Hurricane.
Is a hurricane coming in Miami tonight?
Let us know in the comments what you think.
All right, boys, we feel good about it.
Everyone's happy.
I think he's looking for something.
I'm looking.
I'm trying to, I'm building a parlay right now.
Wills moved on.
He's over the NFL recap.
So we'll move on as well.
We hit it all.
Okay, okay.
Anything we missed, do you guys think?
Trying to run through every situation.
miss y'all over the weekend
I miss you guys over the

And you'd hit me with the
We're moving a couple stuff in the new house
I knew it was over from that moment
And it was already an uphill battle
But we got to get
around it. Oh, for sure.
We're both down for Catan.
We love some Catan.
I seem to get reps. More than anything, I need reps.
I need reps. And even risk.
Like, if we were to play Risk, I have Game of Thrones version of Risk.
Yeah, when you text me that, I got a little six to midnight.
Yeah.
There was a little movement in the pants for that.
Yeah.

Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called,
Hey, Jonas.
Nice.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We get to ask other people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked
questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.

Another podcast from some SNL, late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and
friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week,
my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an a cappella band with their
between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are
starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's
telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo, and every episode,
we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the
real story behind the headlines. And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.
