We got a massive week. It's myself, Tara Luan, Delaney Walker, Clay Matthews, talking ball, having some locker room banter. And we have our NFL week seven slate. Rams at Jaguars. That's out in London. That is out in London. Note that. Note that. Philly at to Indianapolis out in LA against the Chargers, Atlanta at San Francisco,
Starting point is 00:00:34 Houston at Seattle, Tampa Bay at Detroit. Last week, here's how the record shook up. Only one winning guy on the board. Go ahead and read that one. Four and two. Everybody is kind of close, except for one guy,
Starting point is 00:00:46 and his name is Delaney the Mule Walker. He's 14 and 22 on the season. He hasn't won, I don't think, one week. I don't think he's getting better. Maybe this is somebody you look at. If you look at all these records, oh, Taylor's doing a great job the season. He's 20 and 16.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Willie C's been hot the last few weeks since he shaved his head. He's 20 and 16. You look at Clay, he's 50% right now. But if you look at Delaney, and this is the one I want you to focus on, if you are a fader here, you are 22 and 14, which is the best record amongst the group. We're going to have a hell of a show. We're going to have a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Thank you for being here. Let's have some fun. This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed human. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin.

Starting point is 00:04:32 Nice jacket. Thank you. Listen, I might have been one in five in my NFL picks, but I'm one and L in my eyes. And that's with this big Trojan victory over the Wolverines. I'm so proud to be a Trojan today. I mean, what a win. Yeah. Malachi Lemon. Probably gonna be a top five pick. Maybe. The walk-on king. I don't even know his last name. You just calling him King rushes for what, 150? Yeah. Big win. They should give him a scholarship today. He should have scholarship today. He should have scholarship today. You used your twin brother. Does he? Yep, six foot, two hundred and ninety pounds. I showed him during the game. Did you watch the game. Did you watch the game. I watched it. But I was like celebrating too much. I didn't really notice the intricacies and the nuances. The intricacies and the nuances going on out there. Congratulations. Congratulations. You guys, you guys who you guys whooped our ass. You did such an opportunity. I did. I did. You had such an opportunity. I did. I did. I just. I just that's just an opportunity. I just an opportunity. I just an opportunity. I just
Starting point is 00:05:14 I did, but listen, man. You know what I just, they've let me down on defense before. I'm just being honest, USC, but they played well. Dude, hungry dogs run faster. You guys were running this weekend and then. Hey, that's a big one. That's a big one. And then, what, we got, Nebraska after that?
Starting point is 00:05:32 Buy week and then Nebraska. That seems like a big bet waiting to happen, huh? Possibly. Yeah, we'll see all these teams. Yeah, I got to. Listen, I think USC's a tough football team. That's a damn good football team. football team right now. Because you're quarterback. Big Ten too.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Quarterback's so nice. Yeah. He fits that. Lincoln Wiley, his game plan? If you took, if you just said, hey, we'll take that game plan into every single game throughout the rest of the year, you're probably going to win most of your games. Like that is, it hurts me to say, but that was incredible.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Do you think USC has a chance against Notre Dame? I mean, South Bend's been tough. Yeah. I think Notre Dame runs main coverage more than any other program. I love them this weekend. And you loved them last weekend, too. You were the only one on this show. I closed the whole game. That's why when we was walking out
Starting point is 00:06:16 And you guys were trying to find a bet And I just looked at you I said Clay, I'm telling you you should be confident on this bet You did tell me that Well I feel confident in this jacket right now You look good Thank you these colors look good He's been sitting in the closet for a few years
Starting point is 00:06:29 I have a side story Go ahead So I'm at the park Is it Sunday morning I got the kiddos at the park Scotty's sleeping in the truck And Roos playing on the slide So I'm kind of balancing both back and forth
Starting point is 00:06:41 I cracked the window Don't worry I cracked the car No go ahead Tell you. My wife was on me about it. I was like, sweetheart, this is a Bontare special. Like, people come to the party,
Starting point is 00:06:49 oh, where's the kid? I'm, oh, he's sleeping, taking a nap on the car. I'll be, all right, I guess that's normal. So I'm sitting there. It's like, Scotty just fell asleep. So I'm like, all right, let's crack the window, put it halfway down. I'm standing right there by the, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:00 the slide and everything else. But anyway, a gentleman run up to me. I recognize him. This is one of the, this is one of my park dads. This is a little crew that we always know we're going to be there. He comes up. And he's like, hey, I'm the head coach
Starting point is 00:07:15 that whooped Clay Matthews in the championship Oh shit! No. Those are his words exactly? Something like that. Something like that. You paraphrase him, but that's what he said? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:27 I was like, listen, Clay's been losing sleep over this. And he was like, you know what he did? He said, you didn't want to accept the second place trophy or prize. Oh, yeah, I didn't take it. Yeah. He's got it sitting on his shelf too. Oh, he took first and second? He took first and second.
Starting point is 00:07:41 He said, just to let Clay know. we had his number. Dude, that shots fired. God damn. I appreciate you providing the fuel. I don't know if that really happened because I don't think it did. We've got a mutual respect.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Hey, but as a competitor, I'm logging it all the way. You were talking to town all weekend. We were at a Halloween party this weekend. Your game was brought up. The flag football? Multiple people brought it up. Randall was there.
Starting point is 00:08:04 I'm telling you. Like, it's... Did you invite Clem? Oh. Hey, I didn't get the invite. Me? Oh. Hey, me are crazy too.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Me are crazy. Damn. They only want us on a show, but they don't invite us to the Spooktoberfest. You feel me? That's wild. That is. And you know what? That's got nothing to do with Will.
Starting point is 00:08:23 That's all on me. We got families too. Yeah, got you. Lots of kids. We got family. Damn. That's fucked up. You know it's fucked up too.
Starting point is 00:08:30 That's where we met. It's at the Aiken's Farm. Damn, Lauren didn't even give me an invite. That's where I was hoping you'd go with it. Yeah, she didn't invite you. I'm over here asking her. T. T.R. didn't call you.
Starting point is 00:08:40 I'm over. He's on the road. He was there. How's your pregnancy going? You know, oh, you look great, this and that. Can't even get an invite. Damn. You can blame my brain on CTE.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Jesus Christ. But I'll also say, you're right, because I juiced that up. I told him, I'll say, hey, if you don't mind, I'm going to juice himself up for Clay. But he's like, he's like, bro, it was so funny watching how it's frustrated he was getting. And he's like, and by the way, all the parents giving him shit, he's like, it's such bullshit. He's like, he does such a great job with the kids, the patience he has. has, the focus he gets, and the attention he gives, like, each one. And I know he's taking a lot of, taking a lot of bullsters. There's a lot of, you know, there's some message boards going on
Starting point is 00:09:19 where it's like, maybe don't carry 14 kids on the roster. But he was saying, he was like, he's like, man, he's like, Clay does such a good job with those kids. And he's like, I'm close with all of my parents and the kids that are playing. So I'm like a little harder. I can kind of get after the kids a little bit more because he's like, he's got great relationships to everybody. And he's like, but Clay, you can just tell he just stays poised. Like, he's like, if you have a kid and they're playing for Coach Matthews like you get as good of a job as anybody. Well, he's like, I did handle that ass though. But he said something like that.
Starting point is 00:09:50 This is the question, did he play all his kids? Hey, so he's only got eight kids on his team. Oh, okay. All right. So they play like, they don't rotate. Oh, I'm over here trying to rotate. You know, I got a good parents. Because him and they got a coaching tree now.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Hey, remember Randall Cobb? Like they was coaching the team last year. Now Coach Cobb, he's broke off. He takes the first graders. Clay has the kindergartners. And I'm kind of asking Coach Cobb, like how he kind of breaks it down. He's like, well, we're seven on seven. Kindergarten's five on five.
Starting point is 00:10:17 And he's like, where Clay, he heard himself, as he carried like 14 on the roster. You got to cap it at some point. I was trying to be fair at the beginning of the year. I had 16 kids sign up. I said, how do I make this fair? If I split into two teams and say, oh, you go to an A team and a B team. So I try, against my better judgment, I kept too many kids.
Starting point is 00:10:34 And then it came back to buy me. But you know what, I'm on the up and up now. I think as we move forward, we have a competitive team. We have a developmental team. It's not an A team and B team. And it depends what the parents want for the kids. If you want your kid, you know, play time might be fair. It might not be fair.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Your kid might only play offense or defense. He might not play. You know, who knows what it is. And then you have the developmental where, you know, you go out and wins and losses don't matter. Something to pitch to the league. We was talking to Kee Kee Klee and Greg and kind of asking them their opinion on Clay and I rotating enough kids in,
Starting point is 00:11:04 yada yada. We don't come across that because they have like a, they have like a 12 play game. before the game actually starts. What? So that way... Like a... Like a scrimmage?
Starting point is 00:11:16 Yeah, like they have like a scrimmage. Oh, okay. So all the kids who might not play or might not play a lot, they get 12 plays. Each offense gets 12 plays and they just play a short little game before the real one goes down. Well, this one, you bring your team, so it's not a, I think it's a, or they call, REC League or something where you're just giving random kids, you know, you can form your team. So really it's up to the coaches.
Starting point is 00:11:35 But it was a learning lesson. Yeah, yeah. I'm glad that, you know, my legacy is living on. only a few short years in the coaching, but it's fun. I have a lot of fun. He was grinning. Hey, he was grinning near the year. He's like, my boy. I got a lot of respect for that. I got a lot of respect for that coach and their team. His son is a stud. He's the one who beat us. He lined up at quarterback. I had him schemed all game, but they made some adjustments at half time. Oh, out coached in a half, not out coach. Just put our corners in a little bit of a blender.
Starting point is 00:12:04 But we ran out of steam at the end because, you know what I'm saying? Hey, hey, no Matthews was playing safety he was spying him all game ran for three touchdowns just at the end we just we just ran out of gas they either made more plays yeah than we did or we didn't make enough plays you know however you want to look at yeah i hope history for you and your playing career and your coaching career aren't parallel because you've said it's when you you early in your coaching career you're playing career you get to the super bowl after that yeah but we won the super bowl we're close we're close a couple times. I'd rather be close than, you know, have my season in December 29th or whatever it is every year. Yeah. Let's have a better record this week. Let's have a better record this week. Let's do that.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Let's get to the London game. We got the Rams, I guess, at the Jags. I don't know if that's a fair move to take away a home game from them, but whatever. Jacksonville is the home team. Yeah, the home team. Rams are favored minus three total in that game is 44 and a half points. Let me lay it out for you guys real quick. No Pooka Nakuwa. Yes. Jacksonville coming off a loss. I like Jacksonville in this game to cover. And that's it good. That's good. Hell yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:13:09 It is. Okay, my turn. Yeah. I think the Jags have been one of the biggest surprises in the league, and that's mainly because of the turnovers. They create last week versus Seattle, zero turnovers. Seattle and Sammy D. It's great at taking care of the football.
Starting point is 00:13:24 It's great. And if there's anything about that defense where they give up a little too much, 2024 Jacksonville gave up the most passing yards. This year, third worst, giving up the third most passing. yards. Guess who leads the league in passing yards this year? Who? On Matthew Stafford or the L.A. ramp. Now, he doesn't have Pooka. He doesn't have Puka, but you saw what that defense did last week. Defense, oh my God. Defense is good. Got a lot of young, talent, energy. And what I was surprised about, I'm going to
Starting point is 00:13:50 just take you back to the prior week where the Buccaneers went out to Seattle. Seattle couldn't get any pass rush on Baker Mayfield. I think he got hit one time, one pressure, threw for 300, you know, whatever he did up there. But this past week, that Seattle, pass rush. I want to say seven sacks. They got after Trevor Lawrence, pressured on 50% of his dropback passes. So I look at that continuing with the Rams and the pass rush they have, verse, Byron Young, second in the league in sacks. And, you know, as an all pro pro bowl inside linebacker, I got to give a shout out to Nate Landman. You know what I'm saying? Like, just an absolute dog setting the franchise record with 17 tackles. I just, I wanted to say that as,
Starting point is 00:14:31 you know, just an inside backer just giving props out because I don't know if you guys like anyone else could see that, but I did. And it's special. Man, your coaches had you reading guard to guard when you were the middle linebacker. Hey, see ball. Would you have like 50 tackles that here? Yeah. Just off your name.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Salty made these pro bowl. Bro, hater. Hater. The fly's been crazy all day. Who are you taking? I'm actually going with the Rams. I know Pooka was hurt. I was questioning this just knowing that Puka won't be out there.
Starting point is 00:14:58 But seeing what the Rams defense is doing with that defensive front, getting after it, I feel like Trevor Lawrence is going to be putting. in a fucking bowl, and those dudes is going to contain them. And obviously, the offense is still on fire. You still got guys out there that can make plays on the rounds and having a quarterback like that. It's a, what's the running back from Michigan? Is he going to play? Blake Coram? He was balling last week until he took that injury. You think he's out? He's out this week? They got Kyron. I know, I know, but having that duel, because they both, they kind of similar, but a little different, I think that gives that run.
Starting point is 00:15:35 game a lot, a lot of purpose, but I got to go with the Rams. I just think that defense is going to be stout. Nescu will win this game against the Jaguars in London. It's going to be that defensive front. They only allow 18.3 points a game, so I think that's going to be big. Tom? You went Rams? I got Rams. You take Jacksonville with the points here. They are, they have three points. They're also, they're like the home team in London. They're three and one in their last four. Since 2020, basically. The three and one out in London, they did lose their most recent one last year. But I think this team's learning how to win.
Starting point is 00:16:09 You had a massive win against Kansas City. You dropped one last week against Seattle. Seattle's a really good football team. And McDonald's defense is really coming along out there in Seattle. I know everybody talks about Sammy D. And how greedy is to throw in the deep ball. But that defense is starting to play really salty now. That was a tough game for Jacksonville.
Starting point is 00:16:27 I do think they're learning how to win once they drop one. You know what those conversations are like in the locker room. They're going to try and get one back. They know how to travel to London. Rams have been staying in Baltimore all week long since they played against Baltimore. And that offense is, you know, they had, who was it? Cooper Rush. Yeah, Cooper Rush.
Starting point is 00:16:43 It doesn't matter. They were handling them. We knew that the Rams were going to take care of that game. But now going out to London, I love Jacksonville here with the points. I think Huntley took over in that game, right? Yeah, he did. He looked better. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Jags, Jags, Rams, Rams. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Him coming in was a lot better. Is he going to be.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Yeah, because he could run a similar opposite to Lamar Jackson. Definitely. We're not talking about. He didn't Huntley get a Pro Bowl when he ended up coming in. He's like the 30-string guy from Baltimore. I got a pro-ball on inside line. Pro-Bow, baby. It doesn't mean anything, right?
Starting point is 00:17:13 I'm just saying it. All right, Mickleau, Ultra. They have this idea we've talked about the last couple of weeks. It's playing for an Ultra. Now, what is the record between you and I? I'm one and four? Yeah. One and four.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Raw paper scissors for an Ultra. You got all the pressure. I'm 4-1. You got all the pressure. One, two, three, shoot. As always. One, two, three, shoot. All the pressure.
Starting point is 00:17:43 I'm not tuned for. Spears worth playing for Superior Light Beer, Michael O'O'Otra. Fun little games, fun little competitions. Get done. Let's get back to this episode. Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
Starting point is 00:17:54 We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a...
Starting point is 00:18:04 We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide. range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about
Starting point is 00:18:17 what we should call it. We were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers was... This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:30 I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say Hey Jonas. and then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise. down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to
Starting point is 00:19:15 hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice. On the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slico Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levin this went to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. All right, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:44 Eagles are Vikings. Eagles are favorite one and a half. Total in that game is 43 and a half points. Boys, this has got Vikings written all over right. Kevin O'Connell, he has not decided who the quarterback is going to be. Carson Wentz, he's dealing with a little shoulder injury. They pop the thing back in. This guy, he's a South Dakota guy.
Starting point is 00:21:01 He's playing in this game. That defense is salty. the Eagles are, that foundation is cracked. The dam is about to give. The water's about to flow through. They're great at a passing defense. They're great from a run defense standpoint. They're just salty all the way around.
Starting point is 00:21:15 And Carson Wins will sling that thing. Being at home, I think, is a big win for them. I got them one in this game. Revenge game for Carson Wins. Revenge game for Carson Wins. He could be the one to flip that franchise upside down. But I heard things about Max Brosmer. What's his name?
Starting point is 00:21:30 Max Brosmer, the third string quarterback. I heard good things about him. Put him in. For what team they? For the Vikings. You knew Mac Jones. I know. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Because of toxic JJ potentially being back this week or healthy, he hasn't made a quarterback decision. Was the shoulder his throwing one? I think this is games. No, it wasn't his throwing one because they put it back in and he kept on. He said non-throwing. He dislocated? Apparently he dislocated.
Starting point is 00:21:56 They popped it back into place and he went out and played. But I heard he's sore. They said he was pretty sore in the last few days. They said he's been. sword the last few days. He haven't practiced. So I'm not sure if that's going to. But it's right arm work, man. Right arm works. He's one of those guys. Like if it's not, if the bone's not showing, he's playing. Listen, I was going to come in here because everybody, like you said, the foundation is cracking, you know, whatever metaphor analogy you want to use.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I was, I was going to, you know, sprinkle a little sunshine, a ray of hope for the Eagles. You look at their four wins, not just a little over a week ago, they're four and O, okay? They beat the Cowboys, tough divisional opponent. Chiefs, Rams, and bucks. All three teams who very well could be playing in the Super Bowl this year. And then they have a tough loss to Denver and then a quick turnaround Thursday night versus the Giants. You look at their offense too. Sequant was averaging close to five yards per carry. A.J. Brown had nine target, six receptions for 80 yards. They looked, I mean, not so much in the second half, but they looked decent. But I think that game was more about, I'm sorry, the Eagles game last Thursday?
Starting point is 00:23:00 Yeah. In the first half. I think what I'm trying to say? What I'm trying to get to, let me get to the kicker. I played the Giants. Yeah, sir, did I misspeak or something? No, go ahead. No, what I'm trying to say is like, that game was more about the giants. And the giants finding their quarterback in Jackson Dart, their franchise quarterback, their attitude and scatterboo, they obviously got their left tackle.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Like, I think they're good for the future. But you can't ignore, like you had said, all the quotes that are coming out there. Lane Johnson, who doesn't provide a lot of soundbites talking about being more consistent. Sequan talking about being too predictable. And A.J. Brown talking about what meeting? I mean, that guy releases a quote every week that others have to answer for. So you're right. You're absolutely right.
Starting point is 00:23:41 But what I'm going to say is, I like the Vikings if Carson Wentz starts. Give me the Eagles because I'm not ready to quit on him yet if J.J. McCarthy starts. Can we talk about those games? You said when they were four in a just a couple of weeks ago? Yeah, let's do it. So Dallas Cowboys, they played them. Was that Thursday? First Thursday.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Yeah, first game. C.D. Lamb catches that ball. I think the Cowboys going. win that game. They beat the Rams that they blocked not one but two kicks and they and the Rams went down to score they were up what 26 to nine yeah at halftime. Broncos are Broncos uh what was the other one that was real bucks the bucks. Bucks. Bucks. Yeah. Interception by Baker. He's going would have would have been at the time this fourth game winning drive. You got it? Yeah he got it. He got it. They got it. They got it. They got it. I hear you.
Starting point is 00:24:31 I'm saying like the record looks good, but it could look a whole lot worse. And they don't ask how. They ask how many. But that's like the Cheaps last year. It's championship medal. It's finding a way to get it done. Chips are way different. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:42 This 4 and 2 record for the Eagles is a pig with lipstick. Taylor laid out. They could easily be one in five right now. Jalen Hertz, you can talk about how many, you can talk about how, you know, AJ getting targets, Lane Johnson talking about consistency. A.J. Brown saying, you know, what meeting rumor is? He just, he saw Seekwan and Jalen talking. and he kind of says, hey, what's going on here?
Starting point is 00:25:01 He walked his ass in. This is Vikings' money line. This is Vikings' money. I'm telling you, the Eagles, they're in a very bad spot. If you watch the film, too, on Jalen, like a lot of it, too, when he's sitting back there baking a pizza, you're not getting paid $40 million to baking pizza. You're getting paid $40 million to sling the rock, and he's not slinging the rock. He's choking that ball out back there.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Or he's trying to scramble. Like, he's got guys who are open, and he's just not letting it go. And then, schematically, on offense, when you're watching them go into the end They get in empty and throw a little quick out. They run the same exact play. They don't have a lot of creativity on offense. A.J. Brown, they got cover zero. AJ Brown's running wide open for a touchdown.
Starting point is 00:25:39 He threw the interceptions. This is Vikings money line. This is Vikings money line. Eagles are in fucking trouble. You think they're gonna implode like 2023? Yes. I think after this game, there's a conversation being had about who the quarterback is
Starting point is 00:25:51 for the Eagles. Darren McKee, let him spin it. No. See, I think this is... It probably won't because of politics and everything else. And money. Hey, money. Now you go.
Starting point is 00:26:01 The feeling of the team right now, everything just, again, we don't know this for a fact. We don't know. This is me. It's just, you know, spewing bullshit. But my instinct says everything around the Eagles right now, everything is pointing to Jalen Hertz. That he's the cause of it all? Him and that, listen, the biggest piece that they're missing this year is Kellyn Moore, who's down in New Orleans. I think they're having trouble offensively getting it going from a schematic standpoint, but also with Jalen Hertz as well, being the quarterback. of that team. And Mackay Beckton. Yeah. Running game. You look at them being predictable. It's like if you have a great
Starting point is 00:26:36 offense line, you can be predictable. We did that for a few years. And it's like they're running between the tackles. One guy is missing every single time. Sequin Barclay is getting 0.8 yards per carry before he's met with contact. Every yard he's getting is earned. And that's bad. So you think there's any solution to this? And that's not a good stat for them? No, that's not. Okay. Solution is Jalen just ripping the ball when he's got the opportunity? So is that Petulow changing, you know what I'm saying, changing the plays they run? Is that getting rid of him to send a message to the team?
Starting point is 00:27:06 Is that dealing A.J. Brown before the trade deadline? So, like, Orlovsky broke it down very well to where we understand this game, where they're very tendency-based on the running back's deep versus the running back being in line with the quarterback. Like, a lot of those simple tendencies are showing up for the Eagles. But also, when you watch the tape, so anything that can make a bad coach look good or make the coach right is the players making plays there are opportunities where jalen can let it rip and he's not even coaching aside so i think it's a combination of those things if jailen starts trying to spin it i think they're going to be all right yeah um he's got he's one of those guys that's like he seems he's so afraid to make a mistake
Starting point is 00:27:44 hey go throw a pick right away or go throw a bad ball right away and it's like okay the worst case scenario happened now you can go out and play a little free because it's like you're never going to be perfect he's got this yeah but you he ripping it he's just not connected and we want the deep one with Devante Smith, he had a wide open. I know. And AJ. I mean, people can say AJ slow down, whatever. I don't think he's slowed down.
Starting point is 00:28:06 The case was, but he's trying to rip him. It's just he's overthrowing receivers. I know, but you know, bro, it's like, you know he can throw a better 50-50 ball than what he's throwing. True. He's just missing a little bit more. I don't know if that's just the talent aspect, the risk of her stuff, whatever it is. But, yeah, like, even the 50-50 balls, like he's missing. He's not being accurate with us.
Starting point is 00:28:27 I mean, out of bounds, clearly out of balance. about the offense, the defense. Jalen Carter, she's at the heel issue that he's struggling through all year. He was out for this last game. He might be out for this game as well. Their number one corner, he was out in the last game with a hamstring issue. Quinyon. Adori Jackson gets benched.
Starting point is 00:28:41 The other corner is so bad, they bench him to put Adory Jackson back in. So you know, you have two corners. You're on your third and fourth corner. And Zadaria Smith retired. And he retired. After that game, he's like, I'm done. He's one of their better rushers. I know.
Starting point is 00:28:55 And Skataboo, he just made those boys look. I mean punishing them. Bond, man. Bon had a couple of, you know being an all-pro linebacker. You're going to get God. You're going to get God. You're going to get God. You're going to get God.
Starting point is 00:29:06 But two times in a row, I've got my moment. It's hanging in the stream room right now. Yeah, yeah. No, hey, that's a tackle. That was a tackle. That was a tackle. That was a tackle. He just got lifted away.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Oh, here you go. Should we move on? Yeah, I got Vikings. All right, I want to split it with the quarterback. Take note of that. Jay, J-J-Sarts. Give me the Eagles. Wants, give me the Vikings.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Would have out. What would have Max play? I'm not worried about him. He's not playing. He's not playing. He's not playing. He'll have the footboard, though. He'll be right.
Starting point is 00:29:35 He's just telling all quarterback shit. Tell him Matt Jones. He didn't play for it. Colts at Chargers. Chargers are favored one and a half. Total points in the game is 48 and a half points. I'm going Colts. Yeah, I think it's the Colts too.
Starting point is 00:29:50 They've only planted six times this year. Court Colts. Even though Joe All is back. Joe All was back last week, too. I know. And Mac. Mac should be. back too this week.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Yeah, I think you're hurt. Who's the wide receiver for TCU? He's had a breakout year this year. Johnson. Quinn Johnson. He's out, right? He's had a hamstring. He's at a hamstring.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Like, it's going to be on my fantasy team too. It breaks my heart. But he's probably going to be out as well. I mean, Herbert is an incredible quarterback. Him and, I mean, Lads had himself a couple of drops, but that last drive to put themselves in the field goal range to win the game last week was awesome. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:30:23 But I look at this cold to defense is playing well. The offense, like I just said, I have only a only punt. six times. I like them a lot. I liked them a lot. Last time they went out to the West Coast, it didn't work out well for them. I think they flipped the script this time. Give me the Colts. Their offensive line is so good, too. Just watching them. Jonathan Taylor, the Mule's favorite running back here, averaging over 100 yards of game. And then you had Tyler Warren, who I was introduced to when he played SC last year,
Starting point is 00:30:49 had like 20 receptions. But not only is he making plays receiving, but they line him up at fullback back there. Yeah. He'll lead on DVs and, like, he'll lead on DVs and, linebackers in the stretch game and he's not afraid to stick his face in there. Dare I say top five tight end right now. I mean he's he is a TV copy they were talking about Hey this wall wallet war warren war this one he's gonna be he's a pro bowl all pro guy this year and he's got that long blonde hair too so you know he's a dog you know what I don't know about you don't know about that okay. I don't know that we don't know a dog or you want yeah you know you know you know I'm talking about damn I thought all pro West Hollywood we got
Starting point is 00:31:28 I am I'm going charges here Chargers minus one and a half I look at who the Colts have played it's the dolphins they got lucky with the Broncos they played the Titans they lost to the Rams
Starting point is 00:31:42 they beat up on the Raiders and then they got away with one at home against the Cardinals only beating them by four points I think yeah they do have injuries going on love some Ladman Kanki he's going to step up this game a little bit even with the running backs out
Starting point is 00:31:56 number 30 I don't know his name But he toaded the Rock pretty well. They got back to running the football after they ran it only, what, 15 times a couple weeks ago. And it's just like, hey, let's just get back to run the football. They do a good job of running the football. They ran it over 20 times this past game. I think they're going to identify trying to establish a running game against the Colts. And again, I think the Colts, it's like they're five and one right now.
Starting point is 00:32:16 But are they a legitimate five-on-one team? Again, they lost to the Rams. I think with Herbert coming in, this is like an elite-style quarterback. This is a team that's going to formulate a good game plan to stay in. this game and at home I like the Chargers minus one and I have to cover yeah everyone always says that LA the LA fan bases always go super hard on Sundays ah that's what they say I don't know about that I'm played in LA oh okay okay I'm established the run too I agree that the thing I worry about is they're down to the third running back right now he he was pretty
Starting point is 00:32:48 salty dude he was salty at Michigan too he was there he had judged by Titans oh he did who is this? No Damani Vidal yeah ran for like oh oh no who was a Assam Ascom. Assam Haskins. He didn't do a whole lot, but Yamani did. Yeah, 30 was toting it around. No, Ma'an, he is a huge. I think George's got a shot.
Starting point is 00:33:07 And again, you got Herbert. This is a different quarterback than the guys that they've been beaten up on. True, very true. He's a quarterback that's gonna put it on his back, but I don't know, the coaches. Herber. Yeah, Colts look good right now. They go six and one. I just, we all know the game, the game is kind of built for that 9 and 8, 10 and 7,
Starting point is 00:33:22 in the middle of the pack. I think it corrects itself a little bit. And Chargers kind of have to have it with the way the Chiefs are playing right now. with the Broncos kind of sitting at the top of the division. Obviously, the Raiders aren't doing a whole lot, but the Chargers kind of have to have this game. Have to have it. Because they started out strong this year, real strong.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Interesting, you're going away from the Chargers. Yeah, I thought you'd be going. I thought this was like, oh, Delaney, I think the charges in the situation for sure. I know, and it's crazy. And this is got to have it, and they still came off. I know, it's just after, you know, I don't know. I just, I feel like the Colts is a better team. I'm just going to stick with my gut.
Starting point is 00:33:53 And it's fucked up because I'm actually about to be at the Charter's facility on Friday. so I hope they don't see this. They're not gonna let you in. They don't see this. Starting point is 00:34:31 We do the work. Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast?
Starting point is 00:34:42 Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a course.
Starting point is 00:34:57 call about what we should call it. We were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
Starting point is 00:35:15 for people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app. Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Starting point is 00:36:23 Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levan this went to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive?
Starting point is 00:37:03 The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Sunday night football Falcons. They're laying a traveling over to San Francisco. Falcons underdogs in this game.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Niners favored by two and a half. The overrun on this game is 47 and a half. I'm so lost when it comes to this game. 49ers are injured. Yeah, they're injured, but they find a way. I know. They find a way, and you have the Falcons to have to travel across the country,
Starting point is 00:37:44 and they're the team, like, they're super hot and they're super cold. They have a dominant win on Monday night. I'll tell you what, there's not an offensive line that runs 11 personnel wide zone better than that team. Oh, yeah. Your boy. Jake, is he okay, by the way?
Starting point is 00:37:57 You know he'll be out there on Sunday. What is the Sunday night? That's a war horse from talking about. He's a war horse. He's a war horse. But at his age, I watched the film, he is moving guys off the ball. He's getting cutoffs. That cutoff on that 81-yard run?
Starting point is 00:38:11 Unbelievable. And he did kind of get gotten, gave him the reach-around. Perfect. Very nice. That move, savvy. Yeah, savvy. That's that. That's where they're so dangerous.
Starting point is 00:38:21 If they can have an effective run game, there's, I mean, London out there, pitches out there. Like, they have a lot of guys that can go and catch the ball, but they can keep them in, like, sub-defense and run the ball more effectively than I've seen on film this year. The middle linebacker being out for the 49ers, that is a key. That is terrible. I mean, surgery.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Air cast, yeah, he had Delaney Walker. No, it was turned the opposite way? I know. It was fucked up. Yeah, bro. He's located and broke in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was looking at the bag view when he rolled over.
Starting point is 00:38:51 That thing was sideways. Yeah. Yeah, mine's with sideways, yeah. Yeah. Mines were sideways. Yeah. Put the burger sideways. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:58 I bet against the Falcons twice when they played, obviously, this past week, and then when they played the Vikings earlier, because I think I was mistaken. I was looking at Pennix, you know, as he used to up and down. But what I should have been looking at is Bijan and how the offense runs through him. So as long as they keep giving him the ball running for 100 plus yards, you know, an extension of the run game by just giving them done. jump-offs and whatnot for 60-70, whatever it may be. Like you said, Taylor, I think the 49ers can't overcome all the injuries they've had.
Starting point is 00:39:30 They've kept it close. Even the fact that they were in that Buccaneers game. I mean, Mack still looked incredible in that game. But I like the Falcons on this. I think they keep that momentum over a huge win. All the comments coming afterwards were here to stay. You name it. So I like them moving forward.
Starting point is 00:39:48 I got them this week. You're saying you don't know where to go. you go Falcons. You go Falcons. You're seeing it right. But here, but here, this is what makes me worried is. I see the run. I see the outside zone.
Starting point is 00:39:59 They're essentially dominating the line of scrimmage. You go to that wide view and you see that line of scrimmage move two yards in favor of the offensive line. And then I go and show them, hey, that fucking offensive line is incredible. And you brought up a great point. It's like, hey, that front seven for the Buffalo Bills are undersized and, like, we're definitely outmatched. So I look at the 49ers. Like, are they great at rushing the passer right now? No, but, I mean, their defensive line makes.
Starting point is 00:40:21 can stand up a little bit in the run. So I went to, and they are, Atlanta right now is the number one team in the league at rushing the football. Their number one concept, you already know and you already said it, it is that wide zone. They get you going lateral. The offensive line's doing a great job of cutting guys off. So I go back and I clip it, I filter it to where I can watch wide zone against the 49ers. This is a defensive line who tries to penetrate.
Starting point is 00:40:45 They're not playing the man, they're not stepping lateral on playing the man, you know, allow backers to run free. lose your eraser, an absolute eraser in the game with Fred Warner. Yeah. Like this is a guy who can correct things that are kind of going sideways a little bit. You lose that going along with a D-line that tries to penetrate. They're going to get reached. They're going to get scoop.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Bejohn's going to have his way. I love the Falcons here. And yeah, they've been up and down. They've been hot and cold. They seem like they're figuring out. I know Danny O. He absolutely hates them being in pistol. I think that's kind of like why, you know, why are they in pistol so much?
Starting point is 00:41:17 But I think they're going to continue to get better. And this defense is fucking nasty. Number one past defense in the league. And the Buffalo Bills came in and they shut it down, held them to like 180. And you watched the film, like the rookies they're getting after it. Caden Ellis, 55, little salty boy out there with effort plays. Not only effort plays, but lining up on the edge making spin moves. And whoever they draft in the first round, it's number 11.
Starting point is 00:41:40 I forget his name. What is his name? Jalen Walker's coming alive. Like the defense flies to the football. This is Falcons. This got Falcons written all over. I like it. I'm going to go Falcons.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Let me just give you a little tidbit from an office line standpoint when you're playing penetrators versus two gappers. Two gaping defenses versus the wide zone, you're not going to have a massive explosive place because you're running with the office line. You're kind of keeping it, letting your linebackers do their thing. When it comes to penetrators,
Starting point is 00:42:04 it's harder to get more consistent runs, but more times than not you have explosive rocks. Yeah, because you penetrate, he going to cut back into that home. And if you one guy gets a cutoff, I don't know, maybe it's a salty 12-year vet, left tackle. Jake Matthews gets himself a nice cutoff on a penetrating technique.
Starting point is 00:42:19 That's when it's a time. So it's sieve. Gone. So it makes me like, but also when it comes to the penetrators, like the wide zone is predicated, there's so many different things, but whoever is the point of attack, let's say it's the left tackle is a point of attack. If he does not get movement of the ball,
Starting point is 00:42:33 everything else gets bottled. Bottom leg. To where you can't cut off in enough steps, so you're getting hit in the back of the line of scrimmage. If these tackles are able to get movement on penetrators, then you give them a little more time on the inside to get those cutoffs, I feel a whole lot better about that. But it's always painful.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Well, that's why I see this game. playing too they may have a slicer just because of that. If that penetrator gets up field on the place I play, that slicer comes back because they're going to leave that end. Right. And then we pick that end up. Now that cutback is clear to cut back off of. And if you're going to have penetrators, you're going to have to have absolute dogs
Starting point is 00:43:06 at the second level. To correct. Yeah. Yeah. I'm telling you, if Fred not there, it's going to be a different team. I'm with you. I mean, Drake London been bawling too. Like, this is the Drake London.
Starting point is 00:43:15 We all been with 30 points from fantasy this one. Former Trojan, 160 yards. Yeah. Look at you knowing your team now. Wait, wait, wait, wait, if we're talking about Leonard Williams, see us. Hey, but I like that play by him.
Starting point is 00:43:29 Like, I knew he was going to take heat at the end of the first half when he caught that pass. I'm doing the same thing. Like, I'm trying to score, like, just being athlete. I know his foot touched out of bounds, and I'm sure, you know, the critics might say otherwise, trying to get the three points,
Starting point is 00:43:40 but I liked it. No, I'm doing it. Are you becoming more of a college football fan now? No, I'm, like, I'm, I'm right down the road. Like NFL dominance for me. It's probably like down the, it's probably been like, you know, take it, leave it. But now that USC I think is playing like good football,
Starting point is 00:43:57 like football is probably major. It makes it. It makes it. No, there was, there was a low before Caleb Williams was there in between whoever was before. And then now that it's come back. And it's all, I mean, I see last year was a tough year. I think there was like five or six losses.
Starting point is 00:44:11 But no, I always, I've always supported them. It's just hard when you're losing four, five, six games a year to, you know what I'm saying? And for some, for a school like SC, you, need to be in the top 10 at least just with their pedigree and history. Yeah, you're not, you're not built to see how many losses on it. Right. But Caleb was a transfer, right? He was a transfer, but I'm just saying he made a fun. He was. He was balling until he, until he got later in the year when, you know, he started losing.
Starting point is 00:44:36 His, yeah, this is what his junior year, he was incredible. He was incredible. Junior, senior, whatever you want to call it. His last year, though, he still was playing unbelievable. He was, like, his stats weren't the same, but the defense was, they would score 50. They give up 51. It was always a defense. So the defense. So the Defense is just slowly ticking up to where, you know, the offense is at. Let's talk about the Texans and the Seahawks. Let's do it. Texans are at the Seahawks.
Starting point is 00:44:56 They have travel across the country. Seahawks are favorite three and a half. Total points the game is 40 and a half points. Keep it simple. Kiss method. Seahawks. People are going to talk about the Houston Texans' defensive line. How do you get able to rush the pastor?
Starting point is 00:45:07 The Seahawks offensive line is one of the best in protecting against the pass rush. They are one of the best. This is a good on good game. Sam Darnold give him a little time with JSN. I love them. Yeah. I love them in this game. Home field advantage, strong past.
Starting point is 00:45:21 You love my service. I get it. I would have loved the two and a half on this one. Yes. I mean, yeah, the three and a half. Because the Texas, their offense has started to come along. And they just had a by week, correct? By week, yep.
Starting point is 00:45:39 I'm riding with you if you pick it. Wait, is old buddy coming back? Texas. Is the little receiver coming back? What's his name? Tankdale. Tankdale? Is he back this week?
Starting point is 00:45:48 This is a hard one, bro. This is a hard one. God damn. Fly what I believe. Bro, the Texans, like, their three losses, by a combined 13 points to the Rams, the Bucks, and the Jags. I know they started O and 3, but you saw, and I know they played, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:06 Baltimore before their by week, but they look good. They put up 44 points. C.J. Stroud, 24 yards. They're a perfect passer rating. Their defense. And you talk about their offense coming alive. I just looked at their schedule.
Starting point is 00:46:19 They beat the Titans 26 to 0. not the most high-flying defense out there, are they? And then they played the Ravens who have, I think, all you need, though, is some confidence. I agree. And going into the byway. You need confidence. You just went on a whole thing about McDonald.
Starting point is 00:46:36 His defense, everyone wants to talk about the Seattle office, but their defense is really playing. They got after the quarterback quite a bit. Everyone's turning on. It's at Seattle, too, which is. That means nothing. That means a lot. It means a lot.
Starting point is 00:46:48 No, no, no. Whatever the record is, check. me on this. They lose, for whatever reason, they're like 10 and 1 on the road. They have not played well. Now, it is a 9 o'clock game, Central at least for us. Wait, 9 a.m.? 9.m.? Oh, Monday. Bro, those fans are going to be liquored up. They're going to be roaring out there, but
Starting point is 00:47:06 bro, the bucks and the Seahawks I'm so high on, but I like the Texans with the upset here. That's what's up. Give me the Texans. Money line. He heard of it. He said, he said, he said, money line. I love it. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Were you last week? All right, yeah, I feel good about that. I'm going to get me to see it. Got to go chase it. Gotta go chase it. You can chase it with the points. Y'all know I'm going Seahawks. Sam Darno, Beastie, Homefield, Advantage, strong past defense, pressure game is on point.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Seahawks taking this. That's all I needed to hear, Texans. God damn it. Thank you. Texas plus three and a half. Thank you. I think there's a world where the cover happens here. It's just a late.
Starting point is 00:47:51 game, field goal game. Texans with the points. Texans with the points. Primetime in Seattle. Y'all, have you ever played in Seattle on primetime? Yeah. You have? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:03 You know it's lit. It's fucking lit. All pro. Middle-Wan. Well, didn't you pick off Russ Wilson in primetime? It wasn't prime time. It was an afternoon game. Yeah, it was a 12 o'clock game.
Starting point is 00:48:14 One pick, two drop picks. 12 o'clock. Two drop picks? Yeah. This is when Russell Wilson had some. something to his name. I'm talking to talk one. Hall of Fame.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Dangerous. Drop pick six, bro. Wide delayed to the flat and Russ was just muffing it for you. Muffin it out there and oh, God. You saw the goal line before you saw the ball. He knew he was gonna drop it. That Seattle game was my middle finger game. It's my middle finger game.
Starting point is 00:48:39 He knew you was gonna drop it though. I didn't drop one. You dropped two. Yeah, when I had to elevate and get a little high on, maybe a little out of my wheelhouse, I got one on them. We were double-digit point underdogs in that game too. Offensive line injuries across the board.
Starting point is 00:48:56 We went in there and beat their ass. I'm not going to cap. Commanders, I'm sorry. Commanders was like, you either beat the shit out of them or they beat they surprisingly win the game. And you probably know the gift too. This one where I'm riding the horse. I never seen that.
Starting point is 00:49:10 There's a gift for that. You saw that gift. That's like one of the more popular gifts on X. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I got a haircut. I celebrated. We can't talk about Will's career. any day of the week.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Yeah, I don't know what we talking about. Taylor, I celebrated so hard this game. I rode the horse and then I did Steve Austin's fake beers all over it. Like I'm just end up sitting on the bench. I'm looking at the cameras. I'm winking. I ain't going to cap. Did you win?
Starting point is 00:49:32 Did the team win? Yeah, bro. 1716, double digit underdogs. Well, I ain't go right. I ain't watched that game. That's why the Texans is going to win this game. Yeah. I didn't watch that game.
Starting point is 00:49:41 Be honest. Let's talk about True Classic for a second. The true classic Pima T-shirt. And it feels amazing. grabs his shoulders, grabs his chest. He's got a little curve on the. the side. Perfect for that, you catch a little wind. Kind of flip it over the side. Oh, that's not just a regular t-shirt. That's a Pima T-shirt.
Starting point is 00:49:55 That's what True Classic has right there. Find True Classic at Amazon and Costco. Sam's College and Target nationwide or go online at TrueClassic.com. Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, name? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas. We invented a podcast. Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name,
Starting point is 00:50:23 Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
Starting point is 00:50:42 We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect.
Starting point is 00:51:06 We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. When Jacob met Levant this plant to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive?
Starting point is 00:51:41 The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in.
Starting point is 00:52:13 I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves. Their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered.
Starting point is 00:52:39 Sportslice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. Forward slash Boston. Look good, feel good. Play good. Back to this episode. All right, let's see this to the true classic game of the week.
Starting point is 00:53:00 Every weekend's got games, but only one fits just right. So this true classic game of the week got Tampa Bay. Buccaneers at the Detroit Lions. Baker Mayfield versus Jared Gough, Lions, five and a half. Total points 52 and a half. I love the Lions in this game. I don't love the number. I'm going to let y'all pick, and I'm going to go away from y'all
Starting point is 00:53:16 because I just want to show y'all. I'm paying. The bucks are spicy. The bucks are hot. The bucks are riddled with injuries right now. The Lions, everyone thinks to the greatest team in the NFL. They take an L last week. I'm gonna go Lions.
Starting point is 00:53:31 Thank you. I'm gonna go Lions, five and a half. I know it's a big line. All of y'all, take it, please. But I think everyone's getting on Tampa the way everyone was getting in the Lions. And the line, everyone kind of dips when everyone's like, when you start to crown teams, that's when they take a dip. It's when they start to take a dip. I like Detroit at Detroit.
Starting point is 00:53:49 I'm thinking five and a half. I like it. Sorry, go ahead. Lions are going to win by two scores. Lions are going to win by two scores. I think this game, it seems very exciting. I think when the Bucks get healthy, they're one of the best teams in the NFL, definitely one of the best teams in the NFC. But all the injuries going on, and yeah, Baker is playing electric.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Still a couple throws he misses on. And I just think the Lions, too, like that was a heavyweight fight when you watch the Chiefs in the Lions. I said it wasn't. This isn't a look ahead to a potential Super Bowl. The way that game was played was very much a look ahead at a, potential Super Bowl matchup. Chiefs got to the Red Zone, what, seven times, they score on six of them.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Like, they had a plan they were rolling, and they got in a couple of situations in the second half to where the Chiefs come out and score. They make the Lions punt, turnover on down situation that happens for the Lions. They kind of just get out of it, but they're going to be hungry. They're going to be ready to go. I think this defense will be a little too much for the Buccaneers. I think the offense will continue to roll because they look very good. Chiefs just got them on a couple of them, where they made them punt at halftime.
Starting point is 00:54:49 because it was 2017 there in the fourth quarter. Like that game was still close. And again, on the fourth down that they didn't convert, Amman Ra just drops the ball. He's not going to drop the ball again. No. And also the Chiefs and not the greatest team in the Red Zone since the beginning of the year.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Yeah. All of a sudden go in this time, six out of sevens. Chiefs are good. I'll tell you. Chiefs, you guys look good. I like the Lions. I like the Lions too. I think they missed. They had several got to have it play,
Starting point is 00:55:14 starting with, you know, they spent 10 minutes driving down the field. What's up? He spent such a 10 minutes. He's fucking 14 and 22. He's like, thank you. Like, this is going to be. This is it.
Starting point is 00:55:26 He knows what I tell him. It's good to go. Bro, like, you know, it starts with that got to have it at the goal line. Obviously, whatever happens with the illegal format, whatever the penalty was. They had that fourth down. Oh, penalty too. Jerry catching the ball. Touchdown.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Man, that was some bullshit. Settle for three points. You know, the fourth down, they don't get it. But they got bullshit. in that game. The reality is so I see them coming home playing a buck's team that's just decimated. You lose Ibuka who's playing so well for them and, you know, Baker didn't
Starting point is 00:55:54 miss a beat with those, you with those Johnson and Johnson there. How about that third and 14 run of his? So much. Bro. That dude is a fucking dog. He's a, bro. Two plays later he throws that, that I'm forgetting the Johnson. There was like a Ted. Tess Johnson. Friend of the show. Shout out Tess Johnson.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Hey, did you see two where he was talking like he said they started chanting MVP? That was funny. I thought they was talking about me. Like, I would have. His teammates like, yeah, your quarterback is Baker-Maze. He's like, oh, shit, I didn't even realize it. Give me the Lions. Give me the Lions.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Y'all already know where I'm going. I'm fading these guys. Straight up. Lions, five and a half walk of the week. Hey, I'm just saying the Buccaneers is a sleeper team. Baker is fucking unbelievable. No, I'm talking about they're not a sleeper. They're not a sleeper, but you're not a sleeper, but y'all worry about the injuries.
Starting point is 00:56:43 They actually have weapons on their team. They're on the sideline. They will come in and play. They're all going to be watching like we're doing. No, anyone, people come in and they play. It's like they don't miss a beat. When players get hurt, the Buccaneers have people come off the bench. What you're supposed to do as a scouting in a gym, you post to find players who can come
Starting point is 00:57:02 off the bench and you don't feel like you're missing a beat. That's what the Buccaneers have going on. And when you got a quarterback like Baker Mayfield, who's taking charge who is a fucking dog, you play hard for him because you don't want that dude going to the meeting be like, Hey, we don't want to put this man in the game. He don't know what the fuck going on. You don't want to let a guy down like Baker-Mainfield. I've been in those shoes.
Starting point is 00:57:21 So I know the Buccaneers is going to take the lines. I feel you on the whole scouting department thing. You're taking Buccaneers' money line. No, I did not say Buccaneers' money line. Oh, okay. I just mean, sure. What is the spread on this? Five and a half.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Five and a half. Yeah, yeah. Give me the spread. I feel you on the whole scouting, next man up. Look, next man up guy. But you're talking about a mecha, Egbuka, Mike Effett. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin. Bucky.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Bucky Irving. Which again, they can get the run game going to me. That's more of a next man up mentality. But some of those heavy hitters on the outside, the rapport that you have with your quarterback on when plays break down and knowing how your QB thinks and everything else, I'm not doubting that they won't be prepared or study and try to do as good as they can.
Starting point is 00:58:05 But again, it's like there's levels. There's levels at some point. It's like if I'm on the Niners roster, it's like, oh, will he see he'll be able to come in and command the defense. out there and making eraser plays and doing everything else, that's the part you lose. And I think that's what you have on the offensive weapon side
Starting point is 00:58:22 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But see, I used to look at it when I played for the 49ers, when Vernon went down and I was the starter, I'm like, it can't be a difference. I got to be able to run. Every play Vernon can run and no one is going to notice a difference. And that's how I looked at it. So I don't know, I can't speak for every player,
Starting point is 00:58:40 but that's how it should be. When you come in the game, you should want to feel like, Hey, it's no difference. Like, I'm a starter in this league, so I'm going to come out here. I'm not, I don't disagree with any of the things you just said. I'm sure every guy who's getting the tap on the helmet this week saying, hey, you're in for Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving.
Starting point is 00:58:58 Everyone's thinking the same thing you just said. The difference between you and a majority of the NFL outside of your, you know, your first-string guys is there's usually a massive dropout, drop-off from a talent standpoint. You were really well-kept secret at the 49ers. But you came from Central Missouri. But I know. But then you don't. look at it, every guy had to become the guy somehow.
Starting point is 00:59:19 He got thrown in the fire and he became the guy. Right. And usually that happens when it's like, man, this wide receiver is out. Let's put this guy in. Like one guy's down. Four, five, six guys are out. When four dudes is down, he's four. He's four guys. He's going to fuck up.
Starting point is 00:59:33 One guy, man. Then when you went four, when they all down and they make us something, then another team like, we got to have him. You know what I mean? That dude is a beast. He came in. He shitted on everybody. But you're talking about it against the front seven like the Detroit Lions.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Like we're going to have those Baker-Mayfield specials where he scrambles around. But it's only going to happen so many times against the Detroit line. I say the front four on Detroit line, front four dogs. You don't think the second level is dogs on Detroit? Like the Lakers fly. They're talking out of your ass right now. They couldn't guard me. They're straight.
Starting point is 01:00:07 Lance, hey, you lock me up. Easy. No one could lock me up. I locked you up. Bro, Branch would have locked you up. Let's watch the whole damn field with. Couldn't even keep up with me. Branch would have locked you up and socked you in the face after the game.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Nah, hey. That ain't happening. You'd been looking like juju. They had been driving on you. That ain't happened. Remember when Miles Gary hit me in the face was I on his hat, I had them worried about me to hold. I'm like, you bitch ass, mother mirror. I was coming down.
Starting point is 01:00:34 I was suspending. No, you played that game. No, that was 24. The Cleveland Brown, when we beat them at home. Yeah, the first game in the year. Oh yeah, you was suspended. I thought, God, he was on that shit. I got Jackson Smith and Jayville from my,
Starting point is 01:00:52 you were on fire. Bet the boys parley, J.S.N. Hey, how we do last week? I'm tired of how there's no accountability when we put these out here. Only one person they hit. Hey, Jonathan Taylor hit, who did I have? Because he hit Josh Jacobs twice.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Who'd I have? Higgins. Only his point did hit. Can we do a... Can we do a bet the boys? Bet these boys? Previous to this week, Clay Matthews missed that last week. That was last week.
Starting point is 01:01:24 No, no, no, I hit on almond raw and I hit on, you know, that one dude earlier. No, you missed on... Yeah, Clay was a bunch of shit. Okay. You just hit on almond raw, you hit on Hertz, and you missed on... There you go. So I'm three... So you're three out of five.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Three out of five? Three out of five? Three out of five? There was a bye week in there. All right. And I got it. Where are we at with the rest? I got one for you because we was talking, we was breaking down that game.
Starting point is 01:01:50 Bejan Robinson. Be John Robinson any time touchdown. That's a great pick. That was my second one. And I, listen, this Jonathan Taylor bullshit saga. Like, yeah, let me pick Jonathan Taylor every single week. I beat the night. Are we about winning or having fun?
Starting point is 01:02:03 Because I like winning. I like winning. But let's have some fun here with Queens. And my dog is a motherfucking runner. He's a dog. He's a dog. Hey, I like Quinn Sean Judkins, if I'm pronouncing that right, from the Browns. Yeah, they play Miami.
Starting point is 01:02:18 Miami. I like that pick. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's good. He ran for over 100 yards. They're giving the ball to him. A couple games ago, Pittsburgh did a good job. They shut him down. But I'm with you on Quinn Sean.
Starting point is 01:02:28 No dog. He's a dog. No training camp. I mean, they may have to make a quarterback change, but we're going to see. We go see. Yeah, Cleveland. Taylor, you're JSN. It's coming.
Starting point is 01:02:40 It's coming. Jason, he is. Oh, he's getting in there for sure. Generation time. Why receiver one? He's good, bro. The connection that him and Sammy D have right now? He's getting in.
Starting point is 01:02:52 It's just crazy to me that these quarterbacks, these elite quarterbacks are the ones that have this arm talent to just throw it like 50, 60 down field that just drops in the bucket. Dude, that is. It's beautiful to see. Yeah. I'll just sit there, rewind and I slow it down. I'm like, bro, it's crazy. They're just not breaking stride and they're just dropping it in.
Starting point is 01:03:10 I'll bring it in it. USC this. And they may what? I'm like, look at that. Oh. And they don't. They don't appreciate it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:16 It's a beautiful sight, man. It's like people chain smoking cigarettes with their windows up in the car. It's just fucking beautiful sight. That's a beautiful site. Great show. Bet the boys parlay. Jonathan Taylor, Bejan Robinson, Quin Sean Judkins, and J.S.N. from Seattle.
Starting point is 01:03:30 Big hugs. Tiny kisses. Clay, any parting thoughts? Nope. Have a good one. Subscribe. Please subscribe. Please subscribe.
