Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, it's us The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it.
Starting point is 00:00:10 We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Starting point is 00:00:29 The story I told my. myself can then shape my behavior and that can lead me to sabotage the possibility of connection. This Mental Health Awareness Month, tune into the podcast Deeply Well with Debbie Brown. If you've been searching for a soft place to land while doing the work to become whole, this podcast is for you to hear more. Listen to Deeply Well with Debbie Brown from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
Starting point is 00:01:02 And I'm C.J. Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast, Point Game, the playoffs. We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying. You just understood. That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquis come in to you, he's like, you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Well, we don't, we don't, it's not like we need it on camera, everything on camera.
Starting point is 00:01:33 We have the audio. Um, oh, we have to do the frowning intro now. All right, we'll start us off, baby. You got, hey, dude, you got this. And if it doesn't go, we can just restart it. So just fucking give it some juice and have some fun roll with it. What are we calling them, chillens? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Chitlins? Chilins. Chillins. Chillins. A little children's. So that's what we're going with. I mean, as of right now. We, they might graduate to preteens eventually. We honor people with preteen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:03 What's up my little chillings? As our boy, Taylor would say, you're busting with the boys. Boys? There we go. We're coming into episode three coming in hot with a banger guest. Rich Froning, the goat of CrossFit. Dude, Taylor, we had an awesome conversation with this dude. I can't wait to get out.
Starting point is 00:02:21 What's it called? What's the place called? Where's he live? Cooksville. Cooksville. I can't wait to go out. Rich Froning Avenue or whatever the hell it is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:28 He's got a street named after me. He's got a jam crossfoot mayam. He's got a barn, dude, with all the fun toys and a giant slip and slide. Like a 120 foot slip and slide. I can't wait to get out there, man. I'll tell you what, the boy is killing it. And as we always want to talk about it, you're now busting with the boys. What we're going to do today, we've already talked about a little bit.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Rich Froning was on the cast, dude. The dude is an absolute unit. Dude, he's a savage man. He stacked up, dude. And he came in and he pissed us off immediately because he was eating a sandwich, dude. All the gluten. I think he had mayonnaise on that thing, too. I was about to punch him out, man.
Starting point is 00:02:59 I was about to just, but I decided not to. But I decided not to, dude. He was about to get some crata. But I decided not to, dude. That's the time you got to fade it away a little bit. So crotte? There you go. A little bit better.
Starting point is 00:03:11 There's some echo on this bus. No, he was awesome, man. I think he's stature, yoked. Yeah. But 195, you know. Yeah, dude, but he's got like super, like ape strength. Like, he's the closest thing to an ape I've seen any human being. Long arms.
Starting point is 00:03:28 I think I'd take him in the bench, breath. I don't know. Repetition, no chance. You guys put $2.25. You put $2.25 on the bar? I bet you he gets more than you. He said he did what? P.P. 17, 18?
Starting point is 00:03:38 Did 24 on ProD? Find your pro. That was in your training, though. I know it is different. But I'll tell you what, though. The boy's been a savage in the way of the worst. I know you can tell. You can give me a little credit.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And here we do. We cast lines because we're fishing for compliments. Bustin with the boys. You're now tuning in. Me, your dad, Will Compton? Will he see? The Wolf. And Rich Froney.
Starting point is 00:03:59 kick it off juice yeah it really is watch you watch your ears i'm gonna start rolling oh that was that's not bad yeah yeah it's a you made it sound like it was about to be like a nuclear explosion i know i just trying to be polite you know this tv still ain't working we're still we're still trying to fire it up all right we can wait it's fire tv like fire stick i guess i think so you you you just the most dependent person of all time dude rich chaylin out of town Yeah, she's been out of town for like a month and a half and, dude, I'm exposed. Yeah, you're done. Are you married?
Starting point is 00:04:37 Oh, yeah. Three kids. Oh, dude. It's awesome. How old are your kids? Lakeland, our oldest will be five. My son just turned two and our daughter just turned one. I love how you say Lakeland, like we just know each other.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I know, right. Sorry. Well, your oldest is five, Lakeland? Yeah. That's her. That, dude, my daughter's going to be two. Okay. And it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:04:56 It's awesome. I love it. It's the best. I'll have as many kids as my wife will let me. Yep, until you have three. And you're done, you were done at three? I don't know if we're done, but I need a break. Like, it's chaos, but it's a good chaos.
Starting point is 00:05:06 My son, like, Lakeland's super wild, but, man, Trice is on another level. Trice? It's Richard the third, but we call him Trice. Dude, that's dope. I love that. Yeah, I'm the third. Are you nice? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:18 William Earl Compton, the third. Oh, cool. Yeah, so we went with Trice because we didn't want to have another Richard, so. Yeah, yeah, cool, man. That's a dope. Sure, anyway. So this is off to a great. start.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Rich, you're our third guest, correct? Yeah. Number three, dude, on the bus. What do you think
Starting point is 00:05:36 of the bus so far? I was Dale Jr. fan, so, you know, it's a cool bus. So you're a NASCAR guy. I'm a NASCAR guy, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Oh, Zach, we might have to get you in here. Don't, don't lean up like you're not talking about. There we go. He didn't tell you to talk. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:05:48 I heard the first triple zero episode. Dude, he is the squirreliest. He is, you never know where he's going to be. He's not going to work at all times. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:05:56 so first things first, man, Taylor, I don't want to take your I don't want to take your fire. Your joke. I was literally going to steal it. I was I'm going to take it. Hey, whatever. We're on the bus. Just do it, okay? All right, so we got we got a lot of questions for you. We have a lot of things we're going to talk about, but
Starting point is 00:06:12 we would like you to do the podcast with your shirt off. My shirt off. Yeah. That was Taylor's joke. So I'm glad I put that out there before. The thing is, is. Welcome to the podcast. Rich, uh, take your shirt off. Do you let's do what we got working with over here, dude? Let's see what we're up to. Dude, I'm over, like the TV.
Starting point is 00:06:27 we're Fire TV edition now that's it We don't even need to use it Amazon is just Did it take over the world dude It's your take it hasn't it I pretty much They just bought Whole Foods
Starting point is 00:06:38 What last year? Yeah For like 13 billion dollars It's insane But you don't know anything about Whole Foods Because you eat at McDonald's every day I do not Eat at McDonald's
Starting point is 00:06:45 What do you do My go to is Chick-filet If we're going fast food Really? Yeah I got it Chek-Pla's like solid choice You know like Chick-C-Play
Starting point is 00:06:53 The thing about Chifley Dude is whenever we get on the plane To go to games It's always on there And the smell is always on there And that damn Chick-fil-A sauce is always on there So you eat it so many times And eventually you're just over it
Starting point is 00:07:04 I'm just done Here we go And it's probably not the freshest Because you, I mean it's, they don't know When you're getting on the plane Yeah, it's a little more soggy Yeah, travel foods I kind of gave up on it
Starting point is 00:07:13 But I tell you what, dude They have some bomb milkshakes They do have really good milkshakes I know you're talking I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry That's interruption It's the first interruption of the day
Starting point is 00:07:21 That's a quick way We sit next to each other And you still crush Chick-filet That's not true Don't sit there front. After games, we get a chicken sandwich? I get a chicken sandwich? Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Can I go? Because I'm a little nervous right now. Because you interrupted me the first time. And then he starts saying lies to my new best friend, Rich. Okay. So here's the deal. There is chook-fil-in on the beginning of the bus. And at the beginning of the season, yeah, I'll dabble.
Starting point is 00:07:46 A couple of nuggets. Sixteen games. You're over. A couple sandwiches. 16 games in, dude, not even talking about the four pre-season games. Right. I'm done. I'm over it.
Starting point is 00:07:53 I'm filleted out. I get it. You know? And then you just. jump on to the next, like when we go home, it's not Chick-Flay. They're, like, they're, like, the Croger brand. We still crush them, though. Which I do crush those because it's not Chick-Fleigh.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Yeah, okay. The different subject. I'll let you roll with that. You know what I'm saying? I'll just, dude. You've already pissed me with today, dude. Oh, man. Yo, but Rich, we are going downhill on this podcast.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Hey, I was watching your documentary. Yeah. And you're like, I don't know, Pee knew what you ventured dinner, what year it was. But you're crushing. You're crushing. You're crushing cheese, a dishacadishade. is pizza with the boys in between events my my impression is you're crushing this food in between you performing and i'm wondering how in the does this guy do how does it how as you're just i mean it's
Starting point is 00:08:39 it's a long weekend um and it there's just that's easily easy calories it's not a daily thing that i do okay i don't i'm not super strict with my my food like uh actually this year i started uh intermittent fasting i don't know if you know what that is but yeah do you love it yeah i love it i actually started it last august and And it's pretty awesome. So I still don't eat super healthy, but I try to clean it up. I mean, I'm 32 now, so stuff slows down a little bit. Get old.
Starting point is 00:09:05 How do you do the, which you do all 16 hours? 168. 168. 168. So the savage kind. Yeah, savage. It's actually not that bad. Once you get used to it, the only hard part is like making food for the kids in the
Starting point is 00:09:16 morning or like pouring a bowl cereal and you always have to steal a bite. You know how it goes? Yeah. I'm like, I can't have that. Can I wait until 1 o'clock. Do you have like black coffee and water? I don't drink coffee, actually. You just do?
Starting point is 00:09:25 Oh, so you just do. Just straight water. Yeah, just straight water. Dude, that's hard. It's hard, but it, it took about three weeks to get used to it, and then now I'm good to go. I kind of did it anyway on my own. Like, I would eat breakfast in the morning.
Starting point is 00:09:36 We train all day. I'd forget to eat. And then in the afternoon, I would eat. So I was kind of had that middle, middle ground anyway. So this makes me eat in the afternoon before my last training session. So it helps a lot. So how many calories? I'm sorry, Taylor.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Go ahead. Go ahead. How many calories are you used to consume in that eight hours? I'm not, like, I don't keep track. I'm not going to lock. Okay. So, okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:55 I'm not going to try to sound like that. I feel like we're just firing questions off. You're good. How often do you train it? Usually so what we do is I'll train, get out, get out to the barn, or if we go to the gym, depends on temperature that day or what the weather's like. But most of the time, we go to the barn. We'll get out there about 9, 9.30, train till 12.31 o'clock break from about 1 to 3.30-ish.
Starting point is 00:10:19 And then we're out there until about 5.30 or 6. It's twice a day. So twice a day. Twice a day. So long periods of time. Yeah. How do you have three kids and a wife, a happy wife, do it? Well, you'd have to ask her about that.
Starting point is 00:10:30 But, you know, the good thing about the barn is, or even the gym, like my older two go with me wherever I go. Like, my daughter's in the gym with us all the time running around. My son the same way. They get to hang out with me a lot, and they're awesome. So most of the time they're with me, and they can run back and forth to the house, but a lot of the time they're outside. That's so awesome. Yeah, that's great. Do they love what you do?
Starting point is 00:10:52 Like, they fake lift the weights about that? Yeah, so Lakeland, my daughter, this morning, she, you know, once I was out there, just kind of, we competed this last weekend. So this week's kind of an easier week before we get going for the games in August. And so she's out there with me. And she's got her pull-up bar that she's, you know, swinging around on. And then she got a jump rope. She gets super pissed off when she can't, like, do it. She wants to do double unders.
Starting point is 00:11:14 And I'm like, girl, you're five. Like, let's work on single unders. And she gets so pissed. She's like, I want to go faster. And I'm like, calm down. Like, practice. I am practicing. Like, where the hell's this?
Starting point is 00:11:24 It's cool. It's cool to see that, you know, they pick up on so much of this stuff. I've never once been like, hey, let's do a workout. She's just like, I want to work out or I want to do what you're doing. And she's now understanding, like, what I do. And so, like, she sees on YouTube or whatever. She's like, I want to see you compete, you know. Did you win? My dad won. And it's pretty cool. So you, you know, an interesting fact, all three of your kids are adopted. All three of my kids are adopted. Yep. Now, I can't remember on the documentary, like, is it like a, was it something? Was it something, where your wife can't have kids?
Starting point is 00:11:56 It's really, there's no, we've been to a couple different specialists and all that stuff, and nobody told us, everybody's like, we can't really explain why you can't have kids. And so, we, the adoption's been awesome, man. The older two, or the oldest and the youngest are half sisters. Yeah. And it's been, it was a process and it was not fun going through, obviously, anything like that's not fun. But it's been, it's been more than rewarding having those three weeks. Going through the process of adopting?
Starting point is 00:12:21 No, well, that sucks too. It's hard, man. It's the, so the infertility stuff, going to the doctor, that stuff, watching Hillary go through that. I was just like, you know what, I'm done with this. And we're not doing any more of this. Let's, like, adoption's a way to go.
Starting point is 00:12:34 But then we got matched with Lakeland's mom. Super early on, or super, actually, if you watch the movie, it was like, we found out a month before the games my last year competing as an individual. That's right. Yeah. We were having Lakeland. And then she was born two weeks before we went to the games.
Starting point is 00:12:49 And so that was a whirlwind. And then having trice was, we had a couple of things. adult adoptions watching my wife go through that like I'm the type that until we have them I don't really it's not they're not ours where she is like I'm buying this I'm doing that this is our kid like let's get a name and slow down like she's all in and we had a couple of those that just didn't work out and so watching her go through that I was like no I'm done I'm not doing that anymore so I'm good with having one that's got to be tough that's got to be such an emotional like a roller coaster especially do you see do you meet the parents yeah so we Hillary's still pretty close with
Starting point is 00:13:23 our oldest and youngest birth mom. She doesn't really keep in contact with Trice's birth mom. But yeah, man, you, like, it's almost like it's an interview at first. And you're kind of like, why, you don't want to screw this up and all this. It's crazy. And so with Trice, though, we had a couple fall through. And I was like, I'm done. I'm not doing this anymore.
Starting point is 00:13:42 I'm not watching you go through this. I'm perfectly content with Lakeland. Like, good. And which is hard because we have, I'm one of 25 or 32 first cousins on my mom's side, 25 us boys. And so I'm like, you know, I want to have big family. Right. I'm not watching this anymore.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And so she was, she found, she has this lawyer that would like send these cases that were going on. And she was like, hey, you sign this or we're getting divorced. And I'm like, okay, I'll sign it. She's really. And so she sends in the paperwork and like. Like options, right? When you said lawyer will present. Are you talking about the kids?
Starting point is 00:14:14 Well, yeah. So they have this kid and they're like, oh, you apply for. Gotcha. For the adoption. And so I'm like, all right, fine. I'll do it. So it was like she overnighted the paperwork. We got an email the next day, said, hey, you're one of 20 families.
Starting point is 00:14:28 We got an email that night that said, hey, they picked you. How soon can you get to Jacksonville? That was two days. Wow. And we're like, all right, cool, let's go. And that was the week before regionals in 2017 for us. And so it was just like, it's just always something. And with Violet, Hillary still keeps in contact with her, with her birth mom, Lakeland's birth mom.
Starting point is 00:14:46 And she was like, hey, I had another baby and can't keep her. Would you guys take her? We were like, yeah, of course. And that was one. We found she was born on that Monday. So on that Thursday, we were there with it. Oh, my gosh. So it's just like, it's awesome.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Like, but it's, it's, uh, yeah, but that's quite a story. It's stories. So they're cool, man. It's, uh, kids are awesome. How do you, um, balance, you talked about like a week before the regionals. Like, I'm sure in your mind, obviously your compete, you always compete to win. Oh, yeah. Like, what is the stresses that go on with, probably being really structured?
Starting point is 00:15:17 Yeah, it was tough, man. It was like, um, you know, I flew. in. We got trice. Hillary had to actually stay in Jacksonville for, how long was she there? For nine days because he was in, uh, or in NICU, because he was so small. He was like four pounds when he was born. Was he premature? Yeah, he was about a month, month and a half premature. Now you look at him, you're like, where the hell does you come from? Yeah. It's huge. Um, but yeah, so she had to stay down there for nine days. So I had to come home and basically, and luckily my mom is and, and everybody's super, um, helpful. And so they helped out while I'm trying to get ready for regionals and all that
Starting point is 00:15:50 type of stuff but yeah Hillary's down down in Jacksonville same thing kind of happened with violet she kind of got stuck down there because of paperwork and so I came back with two kids and I'm and it's in the middle of the open for us which is when we qualify that for with violet we got violent and man it was I mean you can't do without without help that's for sure you know it's not it's not all me it's my wife's incredible and she can handle that stuff but they're so young it's like I'm not the best at you know like holding and yeah I'm the same line just like she's like you're changing before or after the bottle hold them and I'm I'm like, he's sleeping.
Starting point is 00:16:21 I'm not going to wake him up. So you're like, now I'm all in. You know, kids crawling around, fighting and doing all that type of stuff, I'm all in. But when they're super small, I just, I don't have that. She has that connection. She's just like, I want to hold them all the time. And I'm kind of like, all right, I'll take the older one or older two while you're doing your thing and I'll get them out of your hair. But I can't do the, I, the whole thing is not mine.
Starting point is 00:16:41 At what age were you like, all right, I can do this? About four months in where they kind of get a personality, they know, recognize you and stuff like that. Like, obviously, I'm going to love my kid. as soon as we have them but i'm just not i don't have that super strong connection until they're um until they're about that age for me it was just it's just hard you know yeah yeah i don't she did not understand what about with you taylor well when my well my daughter was born and i'm interested to hear like what how that transition was with you for adopting but when the bean was born like it was like a overwhelming like a motion oh yeah and so like you're kind of sitting there and then
Starting point is 00:17:13 like the next like you go to bed and then she's like in the like the nursery or whatever what she's there no thing back there Go ahead and continue. That's what happens when you boss with the boys. Things happen, a little bit of adversity. The train may come. The train's going to be around in just a second, dude. There was a Brinks truck.
Starting point is 00:17:32 I thought it was just backing up our bags, but it actually didn't have bad. So bags of gold. Bags of coins, coin purses for everybody. But dude, we had her, right,
Starting point is 00:17:43 and then they kind of take her, do whatever, and we hang out with her, and then she go to bed. Yeah. And then she was in the nursery for the night, and then the next day, like you put her in the car and you're like driving home like what do I do oh my I'm
Starting point is 00:17:54 apparent it is it's on like I am no longer just me and my wife no you know it's crazy and so like that is fantastic standing on the bus dude Zach is at all time he is high collar still not even here all time yeah he's really dropping the ball that's out there running errands Taylor well we're not supposed to mention his name. The kid, the guy. The intern. I hope he gets here before you leave.
Starting point is 00:18:25 He emailed me. I think he's the one that's talking to. Yeah, he's the one who's the one who's going to put it together. Yeah. Yeah. But Taylor sent him to get organic cashew butter. Sure. Organic fresh fruit.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Yeah. And organic. Coconut milk. Coconut milk. And a blender. And a blender. Like a bullet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Do what you want. Guy. Guy. Guy. Guy. He's, dude, he's dinting the bus. so Taylor can have a shake He can't hurt this, but he was at it.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Who knows? Probably Kroger But apparently all that stuff's not there. So he's got to go to Whole Foods. So he's like an hour late right now. I love it. So anyway, having a kid It's a lot, dude. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:19:07 And then I'm the same way. It wasn't four months for me. It was like six months. And then she starts getting stoked when I come home. Now it's awesome. Dad, dad. Yeah. They're up in Canada right now.
Starting point is 00:19:16 My wife's from British Columbia. Okay. Cool. And so her friends open. up a restaurant. She's going over there. I'll send some costs. Waitressing for free, but I don't get to see them. Right. So I face time with a win all the time and she's like, she didn't really get it yet, but like I see the top of her forehead and she says words at me. Okay, cool. You know, I see that curly little out of her. The bean. It takes probably, how old is she? How's Bean?
Starting point is 00:19:35 She's going to be two in July. Okay. July what? Uh, July 5th. We kick that AC on D. Lakelands is July 7th. I'm dying over here. I know you're nice and cool because we got you nice little banner. It's about 90 outside right now. Are you sweating? I've been sweating since I'm I'm getting there. Dude, low mac. I sweat all the time. Yeah, low back my ass. I'm pitting.
Starting point is 00:19:52 Like, that's my sweat. Dude, this has been the loudest podcast we've ever had. All the noises. If you dented that bus, I'm going to lose my mind. I'm going to go CrossFit and mayhem on you. There you go. I'm going to go. Look at this guy.
Starting point is 00:20:07 No, he's not. No, he's not. That's impressive. How do you fit through there? That's CrossFit, dude. That's CrossFit. That's CrossFit. That's not a no, no.
Starting point is 00:20:16 A no. No. No. No. Right there. Do you think CrossFit's a real sport? I think... That's a joke.
Starting point is 00:20:21 No, I mean, it's... Or is it kind of like, you know, how cheerleaders say that they... It's their thing's a sport. It's above cheerleading. Okay. Can we go there at least? Come on. Sorry, that was a huge shot.
Starting point is 00:20:32 My girlfriend was a cheerleader. She's phenomenal. That's a joke. Yeah, no, I get it. I got a whole thing about cheerleaders if you guys want me. We don't need to hear it. He said it's above cheerleading. You were a big baseball guy, though, right?
Starting point is 00:20:44 It was a baseball guy, yeah. And then that cross was your transition, kind of your new outlet. Yeah, yeah. So I did play some football. I actually dislocated my shoulder. My first, I went to recover a fumble. My mom, the whole life was like, you're too small. You can't play football. My junior year, they finally talked my mom in to let me play football.
Starting point is 00:21:01 In high school? That's your first year. In my junior year. And went to recover a fumble and dislocated my shoulder. And so that was kind of the end of that. That was done. I'd have to have shoulder surgery after that. It never goes well.
Starting point is 00:21:11 You talk your parents. I'm like, yeah, this is now the wrong way. This is now facing the wrong way. Not going to get first team old. district. No, that didn't work. So yeah, so I played baseball. Baseball was kind of my deal. And I went to actually to East Tennessee to Walter State to play some baseball. And I had a girlfriend, came back home, was like, I, you know, that type of deal, who I'm not married to. So it's kind of completely worthless. Yeah, we all get there. Everybody has that stage, man. And so I was actually a firefighter
Starting point is 00:21:37 in Cookville for four years, and they paid my tuition. So it was kind of cool. Yeah. And then CrossFit. And then CrossFit. How's that coming to the picture? So towards the end of actually my, I was getting my master's in exercise science. One of my professors was a head strength and conditioning coach at Tennessee Tech, and he was like, hey, you should check out CrossFit. So I was like, all right, sweet, because a lot of military police fire did it at the time. And kind of the rest of this history. I didn't know you could compete in it at the time.
Starting point is 00:22:01 I just thought it was working out. I was really into working out. A lot of free time at the fire station, so you've got to find stuff to do, and I'm not just going to sit around. And so I just kind of found it from there. And then we started doing it, and then started watching videos. And they were like, oh, there's this thing called the CrossFit games. We're like, all right, let's try some of the workouts.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Some of the times were pretty comparable. And it was like, next year we should try that. And so they had... What year is this? 2010, well, 2009 is when I found it. 2010 is when I first started competing. And so on the way to spring break in 2010, sanction or sectionals is what it was at the time.
Starting point is 00:22:36 It was one of the qualifiers. They were like, if you get top 15, you get to go to regionals from top five from regionals, you get to go to the games. And I was like, all right, well, hell, we'll go on the way to spring break. If I'm not in the top 20 after day one, we'll go get an early jump on spring break. We'll end up winning that sectional, or sectional. Sorry, they've changed all the lingo up for us now. But sectional, and I was like, all right, I guess I'll hang on.
Starting point is 00:22:57 And we'll go see what happens at regionals. I end up winning my region. Then went to the games and got second because I couldn't climb a rope because my dad told me not to use feet because that's for pussies. Couldn't lose. Hey, remember I was telling you the way here? He lost one because he couldn't climb the rope. Yeah. So I could climb a rope.
Starting point is 00:23:12 You could climb it, but you just cab like getting up there and your arms were there. But it was the end of a workout. It was like three-part workout. This part where they took us back into this room. They're like, hey, no cell phones, no nothing. You can't talk to anybody. And they would just pull out eight people at a time, and they would disappear and never come back for like two hours.
Starting point is 00:23:27 And this is a total way. That sounds like some hunger games. Holy shit. Hey, they hit you a spear. You walk out and they're like, all right, do this. Three, two, one go. And you're like, shit. And so you just do it.
Starting point is 00:23:37 They're like, all right, next workout is three, one go. And I think it was like 120 degrees. And I get to the final workout. And it was like burpees over a wall and climb a rope. On blacktop. right it was i mean it was black stadium but it was black yeah so it's yeah you still bring it more heat and so
Starting point is 00:23:50 uh i get to that rope and i'm like my arms are trashed because of what we've done already and i'm like all right here we go nothing and so for like 12 minutes i struggle well i end up getting atop the rope no legs and i hit and i come down and i completely miss the rope and fall from about 20 feet and it's pretty good video it's on youtube yeah well if our tv work yeah m tv work
Starting point is 00:24:10 juice dude amazon it oh my god sorry so is this peepee It's Zach Who? Okay It was where we'll make it work real fast Who's our production guys? Raise your hand Let's see Pee juice do you guys
Starting point is 00:24:24 It's easy You guys are the production guys And I'm not getting any production Out of this TV right now Zero production Dude he was at the top Swings Falls from
Starting point is 00:24:35 Legit falls from the top Lane's like on his ass and like whip lashes back It was a total ridiculousness moment Where you're like get up Walk it off I'm good And it was like I'm not good Like an hour later or like a couple of minutes later. My heel like was huge, my ass.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Like it was, I almost hit, yeah, if there wasn't a, it was a loz like bucket. Yeah. It would have hit probably the concrete barrier right next to my head. Yeah, it was fun. It was a good time. And you got second there, but you were in the lead going into that, right? Yeah, so I got second by three points. And so the way they used to do scoring then was basically three positions over the whole weekend, 13 events or whatever it was.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Three places I got second. So I was in a not in a good spot after that. I was pretty pissed off. So hold on. So do you? use your legs to climb ropes now? Now, yes. We've learned a valuable lesson. That was your wife lesson right there.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Your old man thinks climbing ropes with your feet is for pussies? Yeah, he did. Now it's like, solid advice. It was terrible. I mean, yeah, you know, we had an old rope in the barn, and I'd climb it, and he'd be like, don't use your legs. Pussy. Pussy. First off, I wish we, did you have pictures of the bus?
Starting point is 00:25:37 Picture of the bus? I'm sorry, the barn. I'm just so invested in this bus right now, too. I've got, I think I got a picture of my barn, but not my dad's barn that I've, you know, started in. And how is your barn all set up? Is it like just total CrossFit ready? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:50 It's all just a huge workout. Dude, Rich, flex on him. You can check it out on Netflix. I have a documentary. I'm rich right now. I have a documentary. You can see the barn there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:59 That's my dad's barn. Mine is like the front two thirds is gym. One of my one in the back two thirds is like razor, tractor, four-wheelers, dirt bikes, whatever. And this is all that in Cooksville? Out of Cookville. How many acres are you on? 90. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Dude, you're living there. About to get some bison. Yeah. No way. Oh, yeah. You're going to have some pet bison. Yeah. What are you going to do with him?
Starting point is 00:26:20 Just live with him? I haven't really decided. You ever seen a guy on a buffalo? You've seen that video on YouTube? Is it going to kind of be like Dale? Can we fix it? Can we fix it? Hey, Zach?
Starting point is 00:26:27 What is this? No. No, don't talk right now. See if you can restart the TV. I try to restart the TV, too. Is it kind of like Dale Jr. With his bison? So he has pet bison?
Starting point is 00:26:36 So we're working on doing some like, we're going to call it froning farms, and we're not really sure where it's going right now, but it sounded like a cool name and a cool idea, and everybody has cows, so we were like, let's get bison. Yeah. Why not, right? You make some cool shirts and stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:49 You got like tracks built out there, a huge slip and slide. So, yeah, that's in my dad's place. We have a slip and slide on Fourth of July. If you guys want to come out, it's a pretty fun time. It's about 100, 120 feet that we just pump water out of the dad's pond and slide down the ramp into the water.
Starting point is 00:27:05 It's pretty cool. Dude, that's a good time. I might bail on my family. Cooks him? Yeah, I was trying to fix our problems. What's going on? He's talking about 4th, July. He's got a huge slip and slide.
Starting point is 00:27:17 He says 4th of July. It's actually a banger. On YouTube, that I could show you what it actually looks like. If our production company did anything, right. I'll tell you what, dude. It's working. It was user air. Oh, my God, dude.
Starting point is 00:27:31 I'm sweating. You're already throwing more shade at me. Thank you. I was hot. Dude, is it kind of like the, the, Nitro Circuit. Have you seen the Nitro Circus videos? Yeah, I've seen Nicosurc. Where they have like, it goes down and then a ramp. We build a ramp on it, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Oh, yeah, I'm all over that. It's probably not like nitros. I mean, those guys are psychopaths. Next level. But yeah, we do some fun stuff. Yeah, we're, we're pretty much rednecks. That's awesome. Yeah. And so you have, you have your own podcast. It's like, I don't know whether word redneck brought me to your podcast. Oh, yeah, yeah, redneck. So you have a podcast. Yeah, just frowning and friends. It's just a couple of us just talking about nonsense usually. Yeah. Trendy stuff? Up to date stuff? I don't know. We have, so one of the girls. So one of the
Starting point is 00:28:08 girls on our team she's really good at interviewing sometimes I just kind of check out just kind of depends on how vested I am in the conversation she kind of kind of makes sure yeah sometimes I just check out sometimes it's kind of what Will is dude I'm the personality yeah like I'm like all the flavor and he's just like the
Starting point is 00:28:24 straight line guy don't he's just the guy on there you go here you go the climb he's a jag just look at this asking you shall receive dude oh there's this no this is not the good slip inside we got to get the action If you go to our our YouTube channel, CrossFit Mayhem YouTube channel. So is CrossFit Mayhem that's from Fight Club?
Starting point is 00:28:48 CrossFit Mayhem, yeah, Project Mayhem. I love it, dude. That's such a good, solid flex. This is our old one. No, this is, you got to go, just type in CrossFit Mayhem on YouTube. There you go. Zach, come on, man. You get this.
Starting point is 00:29:00 He's getting there. And then it's on there somewhere. We run a tight ship around here. You've got to start yelling at here. Zach, come on, man. Come on, man. how far back is it it would be july because it was july
Starting point is 00:29:12 4th yeah Zach was just dying to have his voice on this thing I know how far up how far back is it dude I love our first podcast came out
Starting point is 00:29:25 and Zach's like the number one I knew Zach from the podcast I was like all right I listened to it on the way over here because I wanted to see what was up and then I was like oh it's Zach and he's a NASCAR guy
Starting point is 00:29:35 so I get it dude I went to the locker room today and dudes were like, hey, I heard the first, why would you want it? I was sick. Food poisoning, right? Food poisoning, dude. Oh, it's the worst.
Starting point is 00:29:45 It's the worst kind of sickness. But dudes were loving you, man. They were eating you up and they were eating Zach up even more. Yeah, everybody was texting me like, hey, I heard you on Zach's podcast. Like, you were a good guest. Oh, it's my podcast. It's my podcast. Somebody in the group chat was like, Zach makes it so white at the end.
Starting point is 00:30:02 It's hilarious. Dude, I love it. We had to get Zach. Dude, when you, Zach, when you started talking about Dale Earnhardt's street address, but you don't know the numerical number. That was good. That's kind of creepy, though. You're this. I know where he lives, but I don't know the numeric.
Starting point is 00:30:18 I was like, huh? I was almost terrified if he did know it because I'm like, yo, his whole address is about what you. We would have had to scrap that whole deal. Yeah, it's all gone. I don't know the number. The exact number. I just know the street is on. That's so funny.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Joe, our next intern gets here. He's making that, he's making that smoothie for me. Oh, I want to hear the blender in the background, too. He's just like, motherfucker. In the back, he's so pissed off. These guys. Have we found it? We don't have great internet.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Okay, production. The internets. Dude, clean way to brush. That's the way to do it right there. We can have dead spots in the pod, too. That's the best part. Yeah, that made it good, too. Silence.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Is that a man-made pod? Yeah. Yeah. You put some dye in there or something? My dad does, yeah. That's the best. He's got a white dog, too. It's like a white lab.
Starting point is 00:31:20 And so he just turns blue. He would go swimming in it and just comes out of the thing blue. That's awesome. Yeah. Dude, that's the one thing I don't like about the south and lakes and stuff is so, it's gross. I can't get in the water. Dad keeps, because we're from Michigan, so I was born in Michigan. And we're at.
Starting point is 00:31:36 I'm not. I went to you at them. I'm from Arizona. I went to the University of Michigan. Yeah, my cousin's a huge U of M fan. Dude, let's go on your cousin. Which one? You have a 37 of them.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Yeah, I do. Well, it's like so The best friend cousin? Yeah. Darren, who's in the, he's in the movie. My grandpa went to Notre Dame, so I'm a huge Notre Dame fan, but I do like Michigan and Michigan State. You can't like all of them, dude.
Starting point is 00:31:59 They play rivals. He's like he likes Michigan and Notre Dame. When Notre Dame is not playing Michigan, then it's good. Dude, I was a huge Notre Dame guy growing up. I went to like a Catholic school until like fourth grade. Yeah. And, uh, so like for three years? No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Kindergarten through four. You made it sound like you were, like, in college. My mom, she's a Catholic school principal. So basically I've always been around the mantra of like Notre Dame. Yeah. And I wanted to go there so bad. And I was like their, you know, rebound guy. Like guys that didn't commit, then they texted me.
Starting point is 00:32:29 That's when you could text. That's when they finally offered me. And they offered me at like full bag. Everywhere had offered me for linebacker except Notre Dame. And that's the one place I went to a camp every year to try to get noticed and everything by them. No go. Went to their senior thing, like everything, dude. And they just, they really shit on me.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Dude, I had the same thing happen to me at USC with Pete Carroll. Really? Well, I was like nobody. Like my first three, I played like nose tackle. I was awful. And then I transferred and played left tackle. And I went to USC for like this like Stars Challenge thing. And I remember I was, I was kind of killing it.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Yeah. Because while I ran a couple, I literally ran 40s. My first offer came from running a 40. Nice. And then I brought me in there like, okay, you got a scholarship. And I was like, scow. So that's what I knew was in the NFL. Anyway, anyway, I was.
Starting point is 00:33:13 in L.A. I was in L.A. And Compton, like a boss. And I was at USC. And I was kind of doing well in this camp. And I remember, like, the old line coach, I kind of did one of those, like, come over here to Pete Carroll. And I did a couple of one-on-ones got dusted. Oh, dude, got absolutely there.
Starting point is 00:33:31 In front of Pete Carolyn, though, like, I got beat so bad. I swung out hard on my, I leg-wipped somebody and, like, hurt my ankle. So I was, like, laying. I was, like, laying. I was, like, eh? Peter Riffon family guy. My dad, my dad's, like, looking at me, like, like, Oh, my God. And I look up to see Pete Carroll, look at the O'Line coach.
Starting point is 00:33:46 You go, and it walks away. Oh, my gosh, dude. I was dead. I was dead for it. At least Pete Carroll's, like, over there watching and, like, walking. Like, I had Charlie Weiss watching me. And a golf car. Him and his, you know, big self and his golf car.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Is that before he turned his A. Towards A. Yeah. I think it was after. And he's got, like, his four. He's got all the rings he can fit on his hand, kind of just watching, like, full-on flexing on everybody at the camp. I love it. And it didn't work out.
Starting point is 00:34:11 It didn't work out. Dude, you went to Nebraska, though. That's so fun. Okay, there's a... Hey, we beat the shit out of you in my senior year. We... You were gone. Well, you...
Starting point is 00:34:21 No, we were different seniors. That's what I'm saying. My senior year, we beat you... We beat Michigan. No, because your senior year was my junior year, which was at Michigan. No, it was at Nebraska. I remember seeing you. We earned our black shirts against Michigan.
Starting point is 00:34:35 I'm sorry, but we have to go through this. Go for it. I get you. I get you. I remember... I'll let you talk. Okay. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:34:42 When Nebraska. etched their way into the Bay 10 okay okay coming from the Bay 12 which is not a conference went to the Big Ten championship second year go ahead okay dad did you win no because I was at it receiving my office line of the year award anyway
Starting point is 00:34:54 anyway anyway I remember playing you I remember seeing you I remember making fun of you for being white I remember killing you and then I remember my rookie year playing you against the Redskins and making fun of you for being white again Yes, dude, 100%.
Starting point is 00:35:13 And now we're friends. You know, look how far we've become. Just a couple of boys being boys. Hang on, hang on, hang on. What did that story have to do other than you just talking about me being white and kind of trying to shit on me right there? I forgot the subject halfway through. My senior year, Nebraska beating. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:28 So anyway. I was the one talking. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got you. Oops. So that year we played you when I made fun of your beat. We, like, killed you guys like 31 to 10. Okay, let me correct you because you're right. Okay, so why would you correct me if I'm right?
Starting point is 00:35:42 because this was your sophomore year when you guys dusted us. It was like 40-something to 17. Because you guys did. I actually had several good plays. Had a sack on Donar Robinson. Did the whole little eat symbol. Yeah, that was his thing. Dude, which Ezekiel Elliott stole.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Yeah, that's not an original thing. But you guys did dust us that year. But my senior year at Nebraska, we got destroyed. We beat you guys. DeNard went down with his nerve thing. Once he went down, our whole sidelines, oh, we win this game now. It's over. the only one. Russell Bellamy came in.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Russell Bellamy from Texas. They didn't go well. I just looked at him. I held him by the hand, and I said, just get the ball out. And he didn't. Is his video finally rolling? Rolling. So you put the blue in it. We talked about that already.
Starting point is 00:36:29 Yeah, yeah, get the die. How big is that pond? That's a huge slip-in-slip. Is that your spot? Is it your house right there? It's my dad's place. And this is the 4th of July. That's the barn he was talking about it.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Back there? That's the rope barn? That's where we used to start. No. The road barns actually across the road. There's a couple barns on that property. He's also in Cooksville? Cookville, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Is it Cookville or Cooksville? Cookville. Just add a nice little flavor. It's good. Everybody does. Most people do. That's an hour out from here. Yep.
Starting point is 00:36:56 And you can't really see, but somebody just ate. Somebody just throttled in the corner, though. Somebody just got drilled by it. It wasn't a kid, but it was one of the guys on our team. But yeah, he just ate that surfboard. How long is that? How long is that slide right there? Like 120 feet, something like that?
Starting point is 00:37:08 120 feet with a ramp at the end going on the water. Yeah, we add the ramp after the ramp after the kids leave. usually because, you know, it gets a dangerous. Yeah, no doubt. But it's good. Yeah, there's a, you'll see the ramp, I think, in a second. I don't remember if he's got video of that or not. Dude, I have such a redneck buddy that they built a slip-inslide for their kids' birthday,
Starting point is 00:37:25 and they didn't have a pond or anything to go into. They would just make one like this. Yeah. And they just put bales of hay at the end, and they just crashed them. Bales of hay. That's awesome. You're like, what? That's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Just put bales of the end. This will stop them. Yeah, that's perfect. That'll do it. That'll do it. That'll do it. Yeah, no, what we do is we just pump the water from the pond up to the top. So you don't even have like a hose or anything.
Starting point is 00:37:45 It just pumps the same water. And you're reducing your eco-football. There we go. There we go. You're a good guy. Carbon emissions from the muffler. I'm sure some hippie will find that. You put like the baby oil or anything on it too?
Starting point is 00:37:55 Do what? Oh yeah, baby oil, detergent, whatever. It doesn't matter. Love it, dude. Whatever's safe for the fish, right? No question. I'm just kidding. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Dude, it's the fish got to get clean, too. Yeah, it's like a toothpaste. Tooth paste. Tooth paste. There you go. Yeah. That's a sweet setup, dude. Yeah, it's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:38:12 It was fun. I dig it. I dig it big time. So, that's rad. That's it. Coffee break. Dude, literally, I'm sorry to interrupt. But literally, Rich has turned Cookville into, like, a CrossFit Mecca, too.
Starting point is 00:38:30 You should probably talk about that. Yeah, there's so many damn things, dude. Everybody flocked. What do you mean by Crave-built a CrossFit Mecca? Go ahead and do a little brag, do a little flexing. We got a, we have, so last, technically you look at last year, we got the team that won the games, the team that I'm on. The individual male and the individual female that I'll train in Cookville now. Oh, right.
Starting point is 00:38:53 Actually, the team that got fourth as well trained. And they like move, they like move out there or move around there. So Matt Fraser, he spends half the time. He's won the last, every year since, no, he didn't win the year after I left. Individual, he's won the last three years. He splits his time from in Vermont and here. And then Tia Toomey, who won the games the last two years And on the female side, she's from Australia.
Starting point is 00:39:15 She lives in Cookfield now. Because of Rich. To train with us at the gym. Dude, you're so humble. Like, you have all the opportunities here to just go cocky on all of us. He said nah. Dude has a road, Rich Ferningway leading to his... He said he's like the goat of CrossFit.
Starting point is 00:39:32 The city renamed. It was not my choosing. The mayor was like, hey, you mind if we do this? And I was like, I would rather you not. You didn't want it? No. That'd be so weird if Rich calls. He's like, hey, we got to get some ones out.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Yeah, can I have my... Can we rename my road? No, I don't live on Rich Running Way now. That's where our gym is. The gym is on Rich Running Way. Is it? Yeah. So it's real awkward when people are like, what's the address to the gym?
Starting point is 00:39:53 And I'm like, oh, 601 running way. What was that? Oh, what did you say? It may show... The guy gets off the phone. I know. I know. It may show up as a 601 design drive, because that's what it used to be.
Starting point is 00:40:06 So when you lost in 2010, you won the next, like, what four years in row? Yeah. Dude, the first one, when they're all talking about it, like whoever the guys that were getting interviewed, they're like, yo, this is, you were being in the lead and the guy you couldn't climb the rope in their fashion. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Like, hey, how are we going to have the fittest man in the world being able to climb the rope? Not able to climb the rope. More train. More train. It's been the longest train I think we've had. Dude, I think it's been like seven trains and one. Seven, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:40:36 Seven and one. Seven trains. Just back to back to back to back to back. Seven and one. We don't always say it right, bud. We don't always say the words correctly. But so then you go into 2011, you're obviously ready to freaking, you're obviously ready to win at all. Like when you were going through the section on everything else and you realized like, hey, I'm going to get in the top 20.
Starting point is 00:40:55 If I don't, we'll get a jump on spring break. When you competed in one, are you sitting there thinking like, yeah, I'm a fucking stud. Man, it's just kind of like the deal with CrossFit is you can win events and then you can get really bad in other events. And still win. That's the deal is why I think most crossfitters, well, crossfit competitors are usually pretty chill about it because they get their ass kicked a lot. You're not winning every single event. Even though you're winning the games, you know, I think every year that I won the games, I had at least a 27th place finish or something like that. So, you get humbled real quick when you look like an asshole in front of people.
Starting point is 00:41:33 And everybody seems to be rooting for each other too. I don't necessarily know how I feel about it. But the one time when you lost, pulling the little thing. Yeah. You're pulling the rope. You lost barely. Yeah. By, I forget here.
Starting point is 00:41:43 To bridges, yeah, to Josh. Yeah. The only reason. You jump on there and you get hype for him and I'm like, no, that dude. Yeah. We're pretty close. You don't really like. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:41:51 Okay, so that's your boy. Yeah, that's your boy. Yeah. So I mean. Because I'm wondering, I'm like, what's really going through? People still, you still, when it's over and you win, that's when you usually, you're like, all right, yeah, let me go cheer these people on. But until then, you're like, I hope you fall on your face.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Right. You know, like, there's this kind of like, you do support each other, I guess. But really, you want them the next person to get second. You don't want them to beat you anything. Yeah. It's like. So when he beat you, you're thinking, you know, I'll get his ass here a little bit. Yeah, I'll get him on something else.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Because he won, you know, he's like yelling. And that's, that's a hype-ficking feeling. And you run over and pedal on the back. I'm like, man, I wonder what he's really feeling. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I'm not real happy. I just got beat. And you're rich froning.
Starting point is 00:42:28 But yeah. And so he's, uh... You have a street, dude. Yeah. You got a street credit. Josh Bridges doesn't have a street. Everybody's sitting there like, yo, that dude right there, he's going to win. And then, you know, sometimes when you don't, I would be thinking in my head, like,
Starting point is 00:42:41 I know I'm supposed to, you know, win some of this shit. It does get frustrating. That's the best part about sports. I know, competition. Competition. That thing, that's the real deal. Yeah, there's so many different events that you have to go through. Like, you know, and there's things that I'm horrible at within those events.
Starting point is 00:42:54 And so you're like, shit, you know, you don't want to make an idiot of yourself, but you got to still, I don't know, it's a game. It's, so going back to the sport question, yeah, there's sports. aspects to it, but yeah, it is working out. Yeah, it's such a competition. You guys do so many things and people can sit there. You know how people, you know, you know, you're all the chirping for CrossFit, like, oh, CrossFit, not this, that. It's like, dude, at the end of the day, these motherfuckers are just still doing, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:17 You know, doing all the different sprinting, carrying stuff. And yeah, my, you know, but nobody can do that shit. Right, right. Like, it's different. They can dissect it however they want, but the ones who are elite, like, nobody can get out there. No, you can't really, yeah. It's, it's on a different level. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:32 Sorry. No. Juses pouring out our little bustling with the boys. It's, I will say, dude, I mean, you guys are pretty much locked it in. I don't even know what I need to add into. Then I'm just, you know, you got to watch this thing. You got to watch a documentary. I do, I do.
Starting point is 00:43:45 I'm not big on, like, if we're having somebody on, I like to meet them. Yeah, so you have some questions instead. That way, I'm not just like jabbing you with what you's up, but it sounds like an awesome documentary. Yeah, I mean, honestly, like, when they first, when they first did it, we were like, I'd just be another, like, little YouTube thing that there's 20-minute video, and then they were like, I think we're going to turn it into, like, however long it is. I don't even know how long it is. Whatever, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Pee-Pri knows exactly. And then they're like, hey, we're going to put it on iTunes. It's a CrossFit back there. We're going to do this. We're going to do that. I'm like, cool. And they're like, and we're not going to pay you for it. They're not going to pay you for it?
Starting point is 00:44:18 We haven't received a dime from that. From that documentary? Get my wife talking about that. Oh, I wish he was on so she could go off about that. Is there a lot of money in CrossFit? For him? For yeah. Depends on where you're at.
Starting point is 00:44:31 Depends on where you're at. You know, like, feel free to answer your own questions too, Will. Feel free if you want to. It's okay. If you want to direct them all towards Will. Yeah, I mean, it's, it's, it's, it's, I'll talk for it. It's like stuff with you guys. You get endorsements.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Like, we're not getting paid, obviously, by a team or anything, but there's endorsements in a lot of that stuff. And, um, yeah, I mean, I, I do pretty well decent. So, but that documentary, dude, like, have you, like, don't know any avenues and being like, yo, give me that. Or can you get it down if you wanted to? Uh, so. So, there's, there's.
Starting point is 00:45:02 There's this kind of like when there's a lot of stuff happening in CrossFit right now. They've basically just fired their entire media department. Oh, yeah, yeah. It's kind of gotten real weird. Like the whole, yesterday they just turned off their Instagram. Like, hey, we're done. That's what PeeP was saying. Yeah, we're.
Starting point is 00:45:18 How close are you with the high management of CrossFit? I used to be real close with them. Now I'm kind of like, I don't know. Because Dave that ran the CrossFit games, it still runs the CrossFit games as far as I know. But Greg, that runs CrossFit H. who owns the CrossFit games not as close with. I mean, I've talked to them several times, but I don't, man, I don't know what's going on with that whole deal.
Starting point is 00:45:38 And I don't even remember what we were talking about before. Your documentary not getting paid, so like the way of going about it. So when you sign up, you give them rights to your, like using your picture, using your videos and stuff like that. It's like college sports, man. And so you're like, oh, yeah, I'm signing up for the open, but you really sign in your life away. And so.
Starting point is 00:45:54 If you get amazing. Yeah. And so it was kind of like, oh, at first, yeah, of course you can have access and do all these videos because it's just going to be a little like 15, 20 minute video that we're going to, you know, produce and it'll go on crossfit.com or whatever. Well, then it turned into, oh, yeah, we're going to make, you know, money off of your name. A Netflix documentary. The name of the movie is called Froning. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:16 I mean, so. Dude, that would raise me off, dude. Yeah, it's, it's, it's, uh, and before I hadn't really spoken out about it, but now it's kind of like, who cares because CrossFit HQ, they've kind of like, there's no social media anymore. I don't know what direction they're going with that whole deal. Do you have any idea of what's going on with them? Like, I don't know. Like I said, I didn't look it up a lot of stuff, but it sounds like they just shut everything down. Yeah, shut everything down.
Starting point is 00:46:42 You know, Greg's trying to, the founder of Crossbets, trying to go after the health side of things, which is a huge problem in this country, obviously. The, you know, people are sick and not doing physical activity, eating like crap. And I think it's a noble cause. And I think there's definitely some merit to it. However, how many people start CrossFit because they saw the CrossFit games or saw a video. And it can be intimidating to certain crowds. Like you see it and you're like, oh, I'm never going to do that.
Starting point is 00:47:09 But there's a lot of, hell, if I looked on CrossFit. Right now and saw the videos that they're putting out, I don't know about you guys. You do CrossFit. It's like, would you do that? Would you CrossFit now watching those videos? Absolutely not. So it's like they almost for a while they concentrated on the top 1% athletes that competed in the cross-of-eat games. Because that's all we drive to CrossFit brand.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Exactly. And they did. They concentrated on that too much. Right. Now they're concentrating on the sick and all that stuff a little too much. It's like, why can't we have the best? What do you mean by sick? There's so many, there's so many athletes. Right. Like you said, firefighters, paramedics. All these people that were playing sports at one point and then kind of, you know, it runs out. Yeah. People don't just go to the NFL or NHL and stuff like that. And they still love it. But they still love physical activity and competition. That doesn't just die. It doesn't go away. No. Heck no.
Starting point is 00:47:53 So if you're CrossFit, you do that's, that's, you're not appealing to the other mass. As you're pointing to, those people are like, look, I got a scratch, I can't itch. Right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. You got to get out there. Man, it's just, it's tough that like it just feels like nobody has a voice, you know, like, everybody's like, everybody's like, no, let's not do this. And Greg's just like, I'm going to do my thing.
Starting point is 00:48:12 And so I get from the media side where he was like, you know what, we're not going to. So what happened? Yeah, what's the sick thing you're talking about? So basically what happened was you had the CrossFit games open that everybody can do. So you can do it at your gym, you can do it whatever. from there it went to 16 super regions you qualified for an event well from those super regions they took 20 and 20 and combined them into a a sorry you went from a region into a super region and so like we used to have super regions or regionals here in Nashville right and there was eight of them across the world well the top five from each of those regions would go to the crossfit games and crossfit you you paid to go to the open there was like four or five hundred thousand people that would do it you know and some people aren't even trying to go to the CrossFit games. They just want to do it.
Starting point is 00:48:59 They want to be a part of community. And that's what's the beauty of CrossFit is the community and how everybody is super supportive and it's collective. And it's a really cool thing to be a part of. Well, so you would go from the Open to Reginals and then from the regionals to the games. Well, now this year he was like, all right, we're not doing that. Because CrossFit put the bill on that. And I get that.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Like, hey, I'm sure that stuff's expensive. So they were like, what we're going to do is we're going to do the Open. But it really kind of doesn't mean anything. If you're in the top 20, you get to go to the CrossFit games, which I was in the top 20. I didn't have to do the Open because teams don't qualify through the Open. I qualified as an individual. I'm not going to do it.
Starting point is 00:49:35 I stepped away when we had Lakeland. And then now they have these things called sanctionals. Well, people pay for a licensing fee to be a sanctional, and then those people who win those, not the top five, win those can go to the CrossFit games. But then they're also taken, now they're taking national champions. So it used to be, so like if you have an affiliate in your country and you win your country, you get to go to the CrossFit games. So like these countries that have two and three people or, you know, 20 people now get to send somebody to the CrossFit games where it used to be kind of like an honor, like 40 people went to the CrossFit games.
Starting point is 00:50:09 That was it. And now it's like out of four or five hundred thousand. Now it's like we're going to have, I think, 160 individual men, 160 individual women, which is fine. Like, that's good. but. And you're saying it used to be 40. It used to be 40. And then now it's like, well, we're going to do this big event on one day and it's going to cut down to three people. And it's, I don't, I'm interested to see before everybody freaks out, though, to see what's going to happen this first year since they've changed everything.
Starting point is 00:50:35 But it just, it's everything's changed so much in such a short amount of time with no real discussion on what's going on that it is like people are starting to like, you know, that meme or gift where everything's on fire. And it's like, everything's fine. Yeah, that's what it feels like right now. Does it feel like, I mean, I don't know if this place, anything new it, but like socially, like, especially America's turned into like a lot of participation trophies now, a lot of, hey, everybody can. I don't want to be okay. There's no adversity here. It's not to turn 18. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:04 All right. I don't know. I don't think it feels like that. I think that it's like, hey, we want to grow the market in these other countries and we want to include them. But it used to be the games was supposed to be to find the fittest. And so now it's like, and with through these sanctionals. a lot of people found other ways in and you have to win to get into a sanctional, which is good. But, I mean, it's just been, like I said, it's been weird.
Starting point is 00:51:28 It's just been an offseason. And we'll see, like I said, how this first year goes. But it's just not a lot of talk from the top and the people that are running it. So you're kind of like, what's going on here? Are we going to do this anymore? What's the deal? So it's kind of frustrating. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:45 What was it going to say? Peep, you had something earlier, right? There was like, in there like, like, so number one, that whole idea of the opening crossfit like little gyms taylor if you're like you got to be an affiliate an affiliate of crossfit you got to have a gym right here in the warehouse and if you're an affiliate if you pay the fee to be an affiliate you can have it's got to be coaches right people that are they have to go through the judge's course and and judge the workout and then you have to video the workout right ask for the video then you have to send them the video and make sure all the standards are met
Starting point is 00:52:13 and all that stuff but they put out a workout every week right for five weeks right so it's pretty cool because you can just do it in a crossfit affiliate like in their gym, you don't have to, like, go to a certain place. I think that's awesome. Yeah, it's a community aspect of it's awesome. It's awesome. Isn't there a controversy? Isn't there some controversy where guys are, or a certain person or guys are like clip?
Starting point is 00:52:31 What's up? Go ahead. Say it, go ahead. Devin Ford. Yeah. Devin Ford, what did he do? Go ahead and explain it, Pee, so I don't butcher this. So essentially what happened was, you know, he put his videos out and he had cheated reps.
Starting point is 00:52:46 Did not meet any of the standards? Right. Essentially, yeah. And, like, there was one part that, which one was it that had the deadlift in it? Was that 19? No, there was, there was one with the handstand push-up. Right. And then the one with the handstand walk and then the one with the lunge there, he just completely missed all the stuff, right?
Starting point is 00:53:06 That's right, yeah, because he was doctoring his videos. Like, he was sending a man down. Right, because he was essentially, because I think they were finding, from what I understand is he was actually editing the videos. See, I didn't see any, I try to stay out. Train number two, boys. Just a little train. But what he had done is, like, you know, he had put all the stuff in. He had, just by rep count and time, he had made it on paper to the CrossFit games.
Starting point is 00:53:35 And then Velner, even a guy who's from our area or from Columbus, Joey Totora. Or is that how he says his last name? Maybe. Anyways, a bunch of people were calling him out on social media and just being like, you know. Yeah, because he didn't get a major penalty either, right? No. Like he, instead of doing 50 handstand pushups, he's just like, no, dude, I'm going to do 40. And even tried to get, they were like CrossFit, please do something about this, like calling them out on social media as well.
Starting point is 00:54:06 And maybe that's why CrossFit doesn't have social media anymore. Maybe so. Dude, that's some horseshit, though. If I was CrossFit, I would take this stuff. If I was CrossFit, I would take this human being. I don't even know his name. Don't care. I would put him in a bright yellow outfit.
Starting point is 00:54:22 And I put him in the hardest course and the most main stage and just expose his ass. Dude, if you want to qualify, go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. You qualify. Then you got Rich over here. He's going to bury you. Well, see, that was the deal that would kind of happen before.
Starting point is 00:54:36 It's like you would get these guys in the open that would do really well, make it to regionals. And you're like, I never heard this guy. And then they would get exposed at regionals. but now you don't have that. That's kind of the deal. They cheating, baby. They cheat. They cheat.
Starting point is 00:54:47 That's fucked up, man. And so, you know, you're supposed to have these videos. You're supposed to send them in. All this stuff is supposed to be seen. And you get these major penalties. But it's like if you don't do 40 handsstand pushups or you don't do 10, sorry, you don't do 10 of the 50 or whatever it is. And it was just.
Starting point is 00:55:00 But it was visual, like it was. It was obvious. And then like the handstand walk like, you wouldn't cross the line. What was so obvious about it? Like it was obviously. He was counted a 40. Well, so I didn't see. Well, then he did you do 40 and then a 10 added all.
Starting point is 00:55:13 old first one. There was a bang in my... The first time was super good. And then the last thing were bad, but then they get super good again? I didn't see that video. There was a video. It was it two years ago. The guy put his first round on repeat. Oh my God. Doctored the video to where it was just literally the same round for nine rounds. Like, dude, it's not...
Starting point is 00:55:32 But they caught him. That's still. So has this guy been caught? What's his dude's name? Devin Ford, I guess. He ended up just saying, hey, I'm not doing it. Yeah, he got the invite, but essentially got the heat. and on the back end of it, CrossFit was like, yo, bro,
Starting point is 00:55:47 like, we know we gave you an invite, but, you know, we're kind of taking it back a little bit, but he, you know, and I heard he made a video about it, but kind of was like, yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna back out. I just, you know, I think it's the right thing to do.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Like, of course it's the right thing to do, you jerk. He was afraid of the yellow outfit. He was afraid of that, dude. I don't, honestly, he probably couldn't sleep at night. I didn't look at any of that stuff. I tried to,
Starting point is 00:56:12 I could care. or less about some of that stuff now where I used to. Right, right. The integrity of the game, you're just like, the thing is, like, there's so many people cheating. Yeah. Any sport? Yeah. Sometimes you're just going to be like, dude, I got to do my own thing. I'm doing my thing. I'm going to, and that's kind of the way I've approached the whole
Starting point is 00:56:26 season. You know, we're talking about this stuff now, but it's like, I can't change it. So I'm just going to keep doing what I can, I'm going to do what I can do. And then, you know, it'll work out how it's supposed to work out. If not, everybody's like, well, what happens if the games goes away? And I'm like, something will take its place if the games were to ever go away, which I don't think it will but what are you shaking your head about bp i just don't think the game is going to go no i mean i hope not it's it's a pretty dope deal the way it's fun to watch well and i was i was watching ruggins and rory uh what's his last name mcernan he's moving to cookfield too actually oh really
Starting point is 00:56:56 that's cool i'm about to move a cook yeah me too okay we'll buy a bunk so it's cheap it's cheap it's rory rory mccurnon is one of crossfits uh media guys he was did a lot of the game stuff right formerly exactly the uh artist formerly known as crossfit games but he was interviewing some of the athletes afterwards. He was holding a CBS mic. Yeah, CBS Sports was filming the rogue invitation. Right, which I don't, I'm hoping that that's not a one-time thing. I'm hoping that maybe like a big network would pick that stuff up because, I mean, it's a big thing.
Starting point is 00:57:36 I mean, when it's on YouTube and when it's, even when they, I don't know why they used Facebook a couple years ago, but they did. to air it, but it was incredible. Yeah. No, it's cool. And there's a lot of people to watch it. Yeah. Dude. I love how happy you are right now.
Starting point is 00:57:52 Dude, I know. I was like, okay. He's in. He's in. Bus with the pee pee pee. Bussing with the pee pee, dude. So how many, um, you were a firefighter doing all this stuff. Obviously, you know, you became the best at it.
Starting point is 00:58:07 Yeah. So you got, you were able to be, uh, paid in a way to not have to do firefighting anymore, right? Yeah, yeah. How many people, like what type of professional. How many professional crossfitters are, where they get to, you know, let's just say they're older, too. They're not in college where, you know, they're working on it all the time.
Starting point is 00:58:23 But if they have a job, they're able to kind of make CrossFit their job. A lot of people, too, that compete own gyms as well. So, like, we own CrossFit Mayhem. I don't really take a ton of money from there right now. Like, we're just, it's self-sufficient. We, you know, we have enough to pay employees and stuff like that, and we do well. but I don't actually take that money.
Starting point is 00:58:45 All my stuff is from all my endorsements. Like Reebok and stuff, right? Reebok, Rogue, Advocare, I don't know if they're her to rebrand. They make knee sleeves, RP strength. There's a couple of those. Yeah, yeah. Probably, I mean, there's a lot of people that say they're professional and they probably either live off their parents and stuff like that,
Starting point is 00:59:08 but there's probably 20 or 30 that are actually, you know, can live their life. You can live their life. You got to be elite. Maybe less than that. Yeah. Dude, that's as elite as elite gets. 20 or 30 people. Right. And, dude, everyone does CrossFit.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Yeah. My buddy Kenny Proden is like, he was like in high school. I'm right at a high school like Mr. Crawford. Right. You made fun of them all the time. Like, dude, you do it. That is the cool thing. You want to be the best at lifting, dude?
Starting point is 00:59:32 I know, right? But then the soon, the more you get in. It's actually a dope, like, it's a dope deal. Yeah, it's not bad. I mean, it is when you get down to it is working out. It's just working out. when people get all like weird i'm like hey i just work out i work out a lot but i work out calm down you know what a cool job it is cool it's i get to be in shape i get to work out yeah it's
Starting point is 00:59:51 great and how what do you do it is a job when you start looking at it you're like some days i mean it's like you it's like you and you sorry it's like both you guys it's it's it's a game and it's fun but it's it's a job it turns into a job it's like there's days where i'm like man i don't want to work out today, but I have to. Right. And so my wife's like, what do you mean? You don't have to work out today. I'm like, it is my job.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Like as much as you think, funny story, actually. Right. So, sidetrack, sidebar. My wife loves girls clothes. I don't know how little girls clothes. Like, I don't know how your wife is. I'm with you. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:24 And I've spent a small fortune on little girls clothes. I'm also with you. Okay. And so the one day, we're folding clothes and she has me take something upstairs. I open this closet. And I'm just like, I just see like, like, what? Like money. And I'm like, just thinking in my head.
Starting point is 01:00:38 I'm like, man. Because at 8 o'clock at night, she's like, I got a cart this per or this, this dress. And I'm like, oh, I missed it. I got four for this girl. And I'm like, and then four hours later, the thing's $600 online. I'm like, sell it. Anyway, so I'm looking at this closet of clothes. And I'm like, I wonder how much money is in that cost.
Starting point is 01:00:54 I walk downstairs. I'm like, hey, I'm not trying to be an asshole. I just want to have a real conversation. You know, that always starts out well. Yeah. Defenses are. Yeah, I want to have a real conversation. And so she's, you want to have a real conversation.
Starting point is 01:01:05 She's like, okay. And I'm like, not trying to be a dick. How much money you think you've spent? on girls clothes and I give her that kind of and she goes it's a hobby it's like that's an expensive ass hobby and she goes crossfit's an expensive hobby and I was like you're saying my job's a hobby she goes well you know what I'm if you weren't good at it it would be an expensive hobby and I was like what is that's like what she should have hit you with the hunting no yeah that's true that's that's a that's a that's a expensive hobby found as hell though it is it is a good time you know your wife is throwing some shade
Starting point is 01:01:32 shade all the time dude here's my big issue about like buying little kids clothes they're going My wife, yeah, that's it. Okay, you did the whole thing. Sorry, yeah, you did it. No, no, oops. Sorry. Yeah, whoops. Whoops.
Starting point is 01:01:45 Dude, you're going to wear it once. One time. And then they grow out of it and I'm like, hey, these shoes, $40. Those are never going to be worn again. Ever again. But I'm not going to lie, there's time when my daughter comes out and a little. Yeah. Oh, super cute.
Starting point is 01:01:58 You're so cute. You look so. Stand right there. And like, what am I going to do? Like, put her in like a paper bag. I know, okay, you're good for the day. Let's move on. Boys are awesome.
Starting point is 01:02:06 Walmart. Yeah. Goodwill. Walmart, Goodwill. Sports clothes. I'm like fanatics. Like,
Starting point is 01:02:12 Walmart shirt. Yeah. $8. Walmart. Good to go. Is that $8? Yeah. Dude,
Starting point is 01:02:18 Walmart's bumping up their prices a little bit. Yeah. Roll back. Yeah, girls close, man. Little girls close. But there's a black market for that stuff too. Tell her to start selling some of that stuff.
Starting point is 01:02:29 It's like exponential. See, the thing is, my wife, dude, my wife's such a giver. Oh, my wife's the same way.
Starting point is 01:02:35 The minute she hears someone's pregnant, And they're like, are they having a girl? Are they having a girl? And they found out it's a girl, bang. My wife's like, well, what if we have another girl? And I'm like, got me. You got it. You got it.
Starting point is 01:02:47 All right. You're right. Definitely just a dinger on that one. You win. What tangent did we get on? Are you guys going to have another kid? Oops. Eventually, I think.
Starting point is 01:02:54 I don't know. We're not, not right now. One, the two that are 10 months apart, that's hard, man. It's, uh, it's, uh, it's, yeah. I think you'd be, I want like stack. Stack, stack, stack, have like five or six. But then I'm done. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:05 And then I'm 40 and I'm a young grandpa. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? A young grandpa. Yeah, dude. How old are you right now? 27. Don't want to talk about it.
Starting point is 01:03:14 But yeah, not you're exposing me. 27 years old. How do you? How old are you? 29? Dude, your birthday's in September, too. You're about to be 30. I know, 3.
Starting point is 01:03:25 Hey, it gets better after 30. I swear, I'm 32. So, uh, getting 30. Getting 30, I was like, well, I'll be 32 in July. July what? 21st. 22nd, my brother. There he is.
Starting point is 01:03:37 I'll take one bump on the road as I go back to my seat. I love it, dude. Yeah, so, like, turning 30, I was like, this, my life's over. I'm done. Like, I tore my meniscus. Like, I'm washed up. Yeah. I'm done.
Starting point is 01:03:50 And I've actually, I feel better. I've gotten fitter since I was 30. So, and now, you know, before, I'm like, I'm 29 until the day I turned 30. And now I'm like, I'm 32. I'm like, I'm not even 32. I'll be 32 in July. So you're added numbers, you know, I hope I get there. I'm like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Man, it was tough. That 29 was the worst year of my life, I think. Really? Yeah, my wife's like, stop. She's like, I'm like, I'm going to die. I mean, the day, the day I turn 30, I'm over, like, put me out back, shoot me. Like, old yellow, dude, just a 12 gauge in the back of the dome, dude, let's call it. Give me a sawed off shotgun.
Starting point is 01:04:21 That is my dog. What's that? Shoal off shotgun. Saw it off. Oh, that's a big spray, dude. Put some buck shot in there, dude. Done. Right in the back, baby.
Starting point is 01:04:31 Done. Yep. Yeah, you can see everything. So you got it. You got it. You're good. Yeah. Dude,
Starting point is 01:04:35 ever since I turned 25, every day I'm like, dude, I'm closer to 30 than I'm 20. I know. It hurts. I'm out of here. It hurts.
Starting point is 01:04:41 It starts to hurt, dude. It does. But I feel like if I can stack a couple more kids, dude, get like, you know, eight to ten.
Starting point is 01:04:47 Real fast, eight to ten kids? Dude, I'd have as many as possible. And you want, uh, bean to have, have a kid at,
Starting point is 01:04:53 rich, don't, don't cough in the mind. Sorry, my bad. I'm just, you're all, you're our guests.
Starting point is 01:04:57 Do what you want. Do what you want, Baby. Bean's going to be two. Bees going to be two in July. So you got to have them close. Like, they need to be close.
Starting point is 01:05:04 So that's, dude, I, pregnancy is a motherfucker. Yeah, so we didn't do that, luckily. It's,
Starting point is 01:05:09 it's like, I have been honest. It was awesome. Like, for me, I'm chilling. But, like, poor Tailin,
Starting point is 01:05:16 dude, it's, it's not nine months. They lie to you. It's the ninth month, so it's 10 months. Then you got a breastfeed for a year. You're looking at two,
Starting point is 01:05:23 like, Taylor's been like, a regular human being. She was a zombie before. and now she's a regular human being. So she's like, I don't want to go back to that. Yeah, she definitely. Like they got to go to the whole process.
Starting point is 01:05:34 Yeah, my sister-in-law just got out of that. And she's still breastfeeding. And you're like, yeah, she's not, she's not happy. And you're just like, okay. Yeah. I'm glad we didn't go through that because my wife is, she's awesome. But I feel like I'm on hormones because it wouldn't be a fun time. Wouldn't be a fun experience.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Yeah. Yeah, they say if like men could have babies, you'd, we'd go extinct. Yeah. I wouldn't be doing it. I couldn't do it. No way. That's an intense experience. It really is.
Starting point is 01:05:57 But Taylin killed it, dude. She was a stud the whole time. She was unbelievable about it. But to have like, be like, hey, it'll go again. Like, I'm hanging out. Yeah. I'm just getting more friends. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:06:07 That's literally what it is. That's literally what it is. And she's like, she has to go through everything. I just get to do the fun part. You know? Make the baby. Make the baby. Make the baby.
Starting point is 01:06:16 Just here we go. Done. You're welcome. And that she's like, here it is. Here it is. You're welcome. Sickness, all that. She handled like a pro.
Starting point is 01:06:23 But that's a tough experience. It's a tough experience. for sure. I don't know. We went on a long tangent there. Didn't even know where we got on. Kids. Baby clothes. I think's where we started.
Starting point is 01:06:34 Yeah, something like that. I did start a baby clothes. We'll have to do. We'll go do a day count together. The hobby, when she tried taking a shot. The hobby. You're being a cross fitter. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:41 So you do hunt? I do hunt. Yeah. What do you hunt? Really into Turkey. I did an elk hunt this last fall. Didn't see shit. Was that fun now?
Starting point is 01:06:51 For 60 miles. 60 miles and 60. It was the most, it was the most miserable, most awesome experience that been in because you're like uh elk hunting you're like try you're trying to track in it man it was so much fun but it was it was the one of the hardest mentally on day four like we went off because my guide at first he kind of like kind of tries to feel you out and see like what you can take and this guy's like a mountain like ninja grew up out in the woods and like in montana up and down and so the first couple days you know we'd walk a little bit we'd stop and my buddy was with us and he's not in shape
Starting point is 01:07:19 or whatever and we crushed him the first day like so much that he didn't go hunting the next day and so then most days after that we just stop him boys we'd just stay in boys we'd just We'd put him in a stand and we'd go walk. And so the fourth day, he was like, all right, wherever I want to go, we're going. And I was like, all right, let's go. And we got off this mountain. And basically when it drops off, it just turns into like the nastiest, thickest, like, it was awful. And you would drop off and then we'd go as far as we could.
Starting point is 01:07:46 It would get too thick. We'd have to go back up about 30 or 40 feet. We'd go over. We'd go down. We'd come back up for two hours. And we both get down. We're just pouring sweat. And he's like, I honestly wouldn't have held it against you if you shot me in the back of the head right there.
Starting point is 01:07:59 He's like, I've never done that with a client. And he's like, because we, it was nasty. Fittest guy in the world, though. But mentally, I was like, this is the most miserable thing I've ever been a part of. But I want to go again. Like, it was awesome. Did you say you didn't see anything? We, so we showed up.
Starting point is 01:08:14 We step out of the truck to climb this mountain. And we're on private land and we're hunting only public land. And we hear one bugle. And I'm like, hell yeah. This is going to be awesome. I didn't see shit after that. Like we hear one bugle maybe 50 feet from us. And then nothing.
Starting point is 01:08:30 We climbed this mountain. It was cool because you're out in the woods. And like that's where I grew up. It was out in the woods, you know, doing my thing. And it was, there's nobody. It's complete silence. Like the term definitely silent is true. You're just like nothing is making a noise.
Starting point is 01:08:46 It was crazy. But it was awesome. You're just out in the middle of these in the mountains. That's awesome. And where was that at? In Montana. Montana. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:53 I got to get out to Montana. Did I hear it there. Montana's beautiful. Amazing. It's amazing. I've been there twice, but it was awesome. There's this guy in Montana called Gris Kid, and his whole entire job is when,
Starting point is 01:09:03 when bears are hibernating, he breaks into their caves, and he tags them. No, dude. And he, like, takes pictures with them, and he bails. Selfies. Dude, he literally takes selfies.
Starting point is 01:09:12 Flash goes off. He's like, get the hell out of there, dude. He did, and this guy's like, dude, maybe 15 pounds more than Zach. Like, not a big dude at all. He was a snack. He's a snack. He's a snack.
Starting point is 01:09:24 I watched a video of, them releasing, I don't know if you saw it on Instagram, but a video, they released this, like, grizzly bear and they had a camera mounted. And it attacked, and it attacked the camera? The most terrifying thing I've ever seen. Like, I used to, there's two things in this world. I'm afraid of, two things. Well, it used to be. Being buried alive and sharks. I swam with sharks last year, so that's, like, I don't like sharks, but I'm not as terrified of them. Now, grizzly bears. What kind of sharks do you swim with? They were, like, reef sharks. It was in the Bahamas. It's like, we go on this trip to, with Reebok
Starting point is 01:09:52 every year down to Albany Bahamas. And we go, the guy that we're with knows the guy that does the charters. And so, you know, you get in the water and they have this bait box that's like probably 40 feet below you. And there's these sharks. You're like, wow, this is terrifying. This is, I'm all right, though, you know, whatever. Well, all of a sudden, like, you notice the sharks are getting closer and closer up.
Starting point is 01:10:12 And we're like, that's weird. Like, they're like 10 feet below us now. Yeah. And then I turn around in this one, they call it the Joker because its mouth is like jacked up and it's the looks like jaws. swimming right at me. And I'm just like, oh, and then it just like just goes right around right by you. And you're like, okay, I'm all right.
Starting point is 01:10:29 Well, then there's like, the guy brings the bait box up because he's like, oh, they'll be fine. Then just starts chumming the water with us in the water. With you in the water. Yeah, there's. And so everybody gets out, me and one of the other guys that I competed with for you or Spencer Hendel. We're just like back to back like, you know, like we're going to do anything. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:10:45 Those sharks want you, they're going to get you. Yeah, they're going to take. And they're like, don't splash the top of the water because they, they think it's the chum coming in the water. So you're just like, you're holding onto a rope. You're holding onto a rope. And you're just like getting into it was. Which is your worst enemy rope.
Starting point is 01:10:58 Yeah, there we go. I know. You're dead. You're dead again. God died by this damn rope. Dude, I couldn't. I mean, sharks used to be a big fear of mine. And then I started surfing.
Starting point is 01:11:06 Yeah. And I'm like, I'll get out there. And the first time I go surfing of whenever, like for a long period of time. Yeah. First day, I'm like, this is it, dude. I had done. In my head, I'm like, this is it. It's over.
Starting point is 01:11:17 And then about five minutes in, I'm solid. Good to go. Yeah. But I can't imagine. seeing until one attacks you until one gets me for sure but i mean dude i'm feeling like if we're all surfing together it's like first off zack's out for sure 100% it's not going for you dude i'm i'm you're big enough i'm big enough to it's gonna be like i don't know no i'm not big fight big fight there yeah maybe go for well you probably have the best and you put on some weight
Starting point is 01:11:39 what are you weighing right now dude like 228 that's that's solid what do you at one 95 dude if i was 195 i'd look like zach what do you uh At about 195. I'm pretty much flat year-round, about 195 to one, yeah, that's about it. When you're actually competing, your training goes to like three days a week, three times a day, right? I mean, it's really that session, those sessions now. It's like the two training sessions.
Starting point is 01:12:07 We'll do a couple things. Oh, but a couple of them in that whole session. Yeah, actually, the heaviest I got was like 205. And I was like, I'm a little too big. I need to, for the gymnastics type stuff. I was like, yeah, it's, you know, because you kind of, you want to be as strong as you There are guys in there that are. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:23 There's a guy that we, uh, competes on our, our other team, um, that this last weekend. He's two, 220, 225. He's, but he's just solid, dude. He's Australian. And that's big for CrossFit. Yeah. That's real big. Royce.
Starting point is 01:12:35 Yeah. Royce is a big dude. Look at him. Look at him. You're like, Pete. He's in it. I know, dude. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:41 Did you, you knew PP before? Yeah. Yeah. He did a, did a shoot for us. When was that last two years ago? Yeah. It was, uh, two december's again. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:50 It was men's health, chocolate milk. Did you ever get your chocolate milk keg? No, they didn't get chocolate milk keg. Rich literally doesn't make them pay for the shoot. They're like, can we do a men's health piece on you? And he's just like, and it's chocolate milk sponsored. And Rich was like, I really just want a keg full of chocolate milk. I want a lifetime supply chocolate milk.
Starting point is 01:13:09 I heard of the worst kind of milk. That's like the bottom of the real bad milk. It tastes the best, but they put a bunch of flavoring and stuff in there. Like the chocolate because it's the bad milk. I hate to be that guy I do that guy I do that just now Who cares
Starting point is 01:13:26 When it was bought up before I was like I don't want to say it Because I love chocolate milk I'm with you Dude Dude eight years old Get a little bit That nests quick
Starting point is 01:13:33 Get that pat up That's not milk Get that powder That's like chocolate milk though That's like milk flavored drink I'm telling you get that What is that Youhoo
Starting point is 01:13:41 Youhoo is the Chocolate you always thought it's chocolate milk And then you read it And you're like It's chocolate drink What does that mean It means it's mostly water It's water and sugar.
Starting point is 01:13:51 No way. It's like the things on the American cheese singles. It's like this is a cheese-like product. It's not cheese. That's terrifying. That is terrifying. I used to bang some U-Hus, dude. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:05 The drink. I used to smack those things up. The drink. When I was younger. I tell you what, dude, when I was younger, 13 years old, I had ride my dirt bike to the gas station, get myself a microwave burrito and a U-hoo. You who. And I'd sit there, dude, and I'd just go through that cycle trader, not auto trade.
Starting point is 01:14:23 Oh, yeah, cycle trader. Baby, I'm in that thing. For sure. Right off. I was such a skid. God, I was such a skid. I used to ride four-wheel. I'd say what, though, getting a right at.
Starting point is 01:14:32 Oops, oops, Rich was talking. Go ahead. Don't worry. It's all right. What you got, Rich? So you used to ride four-wheelers a lot. Yeah, what kind of four-wheels you're into? Yamaha, Suzuki.
Starting point is 01:14:42 I had a 400-EX. Yeah, yeah. 300-EX for a while, too. That's awesome, dude. Do you ever ride the three-wheelerers? My cousins had three wheelers, but they were always flipping it. Dude, those are the most time, like most dangerous thing. Oh, it's crazy.
Starting point is 01:14:56 Go ahead, Will you're saying. Welcome back. It's irrelevant. It's irrelevant. It was going into your story. It was like, yeah, as a 13-year-old, you had like something to get you from point A to point B. Go to a gas station. And your only stress is like, man, how can I buy that?
Starting point is 01:15:12 Yeah. That's your only stress in the world. I mean, looking at bikes that are like $1,500. Dude, and I'd be like, dude, if I, if I'm only, one. One day. Only. Dude, you get $40 to mow a yard? Dude, I'm from Arizona.
Starting point is 01:15:25 There's no yards. Dude, we're all rocks. You can literally go to places to pick out the gravel. Only rich people have grass in Arizona. Damn. There's like designated, we used to call them greens. And there would be like designated like half an acre patch of grass. And they're like, okay.
Starting point is 01:15:38 This is what kids do in the Midwest and think that we go right over there. Dude, it's like making it out of our small town. Like if you had a little long mowing, if you had like clients, you made it. That was it? Yeah, you're raking and money in the summer. Like, what are you doing with your summer? Like, oh, I got a little mowing business. I love it.
Starting point is 01:15:53 I'd be so jealous. Like, you know, dudes are getting like, you know, $40 a mow. Knock it on doors. You're wheeling in a couple hundred bucks a week. You're rich as a teenager. At a teenager, yeah. Yeah, going to Jack in the Box and, you know, two for 99 cent tacos. Good to go.
Starting point is 01:16:08 Oh, that's huge. You know about Jack in the Box? Jack in the Box, dude, those are the best tacos around. They're better than any Taco Bell Taco. Yeah, I mean, it's debatable. You really shit on. chuckle milk like you know jack in the box tacos no you're like I'm shitting on
Starting point is 01:16:21 the now you're like all best taco around like I'm the stone that chocolate milk is shit but hey jack and box tacos no I'm saying like I used to I used to now I don't as much now he drinks organic cashew milk yeah dude but you're not strict at all huh not super strict though
Starting point is 01:16:36 I know that's that's why I'm so fascinated how many how many how many times have people accused you of cheating all the time every day and you get to the same thing Yeah, like you're sitting there thinking like these elite ass dudes because, you know, you probably, it's not like you need to say anything, but there's definitely guys at that level who get there through doing that because you can't just recover like that unless you were just, you got something in you. Yeah, I mean, it's what you seem. Yeah, I think it's like a mix of genetics.
Starting point is 01:17:06 You know, my parents are the hardest workers in the room that always held us to that standard. So I mean, it's just like, but there's always somebody trying to discredit what you do. No doubt. Same way with you guys. You know, it's like. Yeah, people think I'm on roids. all the time. I'm like,
Starting point is 01:17:18 I'm like, listen, I wasn't drafted if everybody, everybody remembers, but no, I'm not on rule age. You know,
Starting point is 01:17:22 I can test it a few times a year. Right. And I'm like, hey, I see you boys trying to get the old boy. I know I've been playing a long time. Six years.
Starting point is 01:17:28 Yeah, so, yeah, I mean, you've been playing seven years. No, this will be seven. So I try to say seven, but I've only played six.
Starting point is 01:17:34 And honestly, by NFL years, it's five because one year is practice squad. See, you're taking yourself down. That's okay. Don't have to do that.
Starting point is 01:17:41 Don't care. Me. Yeah, me. That's it, baby. One year piece while. That's right. You're in the mud even more. You know, you know what was crazy is LSU back when O'Dell was there.
Starting point is 01:17:51 It was him and. It was O'Donnell. Jarvis Landry, Jeremy Hill was there, and Zach Bentonberger was a quarterback. Who's Zach Menberger? Oh, my gosh. He was supposed to be on the pot, and he's, you know, he, he, he backed out. I pissed him off. I pissed him off pretty bad, dude.
Starting point is 01:18:05 Well, I'll tell you. What did you do? Oh, it was kind of bad. It wasn't that. It was bad. It was bad. So, okay, so for the longest time, he's, he's had a, a bachelor, bachelor, a co. A dual mingling, bachelor, bachelor, at Savior, Save your opinions.
Starting point is 01:18:22 Party. So at the, in Palm Springs. So me and my wife were going to go. Well, the weekend, they did it, it was like last weekend, or two weekends ago. What was two weekends ago? It was Mother's Day. It was Mother's Day weekend. That's when it was.
Starting point is 01:18:36 My football camp. And it's like, and my wife. It's Mother's Day. It's her second Mother's Day. I got to go. But I thought it was always the week before. So, like, three days before, I was like, dude, I can't make it. I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 01:18:48 And Zach took it pretty good, dude. He was pretty cool about it, but, like, I feel terrible. I feel terrible. A bachelor, bachelorette. You should. They did, like, a co. Like, a party? Like, a bachelor party?
Starting point is 01:18:58 I hope you're the show. The camera should be on Rich's face. Dude, a bachelorette and a bachelor party combined. Oh, okay. He's like, like, I thought we were talking about the show. He's like, together. I was like, my wife watches that show. Dude, you watch that show too.
Starting point is 01:19:12 Absolutely not. You watched that show too. I watched one season. How good was it? I can't do it. I get it. You're a hunter. You're a crossfitter.
Starting point is 01:19:20 You're a big, tough guy. I love the Bachelor and Bachelor. I love it, too. It's just, it's just, there you go, Peepee. Pee-Pee's into it. I let myself not go there, but I can piggyback. Charles, it's like her, she's causing her guilty pleasures watching the Bachelor Batherabst.
Starting point is 01:19:36 So, dude, it's awful. And I think, I think reality TV is so, dumb. Yeah. So dumb. Yeah. But I do think, dude, the way the cat fights. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:45 Oh, it's ridiculous. The beginning. On The Bachelor, the way these women are just out of control and then the amount of testosterone for the dudes. And the Bachelorette one, it's, my wife has like a viewing party every week. That she really? Yeah. Oh, we made into it.
Starting point is 01:19:57 I can't. I can't do it. I'm just like. You a Game of Thrones guy? I know. I have not watched it. Thank God. I have friends that are all like, are all into it.
Starting point is 01:20:06 I have, I just, man, I don't watch them much TV. You grind in. You grind in. Yeah, I watch a lot of Mickey Mouse. It's about what we watch. You know, dude. My daughter's big into Winnie the Pooh right now. Okay. I was a big one of the poo guy.
Starting point is 01:20:20 I did. If you guys haven't told Will's here today, we'll confidence here. He's on the podcast, but anybody's wondering. Woody the poo, huh? Dude, this is the best one yet. This is pretty solid. Did you, hey, Rich, you came on, you killed it, dude.
Starting point is 01:20:31 Thanks, guys. Nobody knew. Nobody knew what to think. You know what? Joe Rogan's podcast. Do you know he wants you on? Yeah, and so the deal with that is, I talked to him back a couple months ago on Twitter
Starting point is 01:20:43 and I was like, hey, let me know. And then crickets. So I haven't heard anything. So I, uh, we listen to you got to listen to Jessica. I listen every once in a while. Man, I, with everything else. Yeah, it's so hard.
Starting point is 01:20:53 If I, you can't now because you're going to follow bus with the boys. That's right. I'm in. Dude, we're starting a cult. All right. This is it. That's it. You're in.
Starting point is 01:21:01 We need. Yeah, we need that. We need you, dude. We need. And we're going to move to Cookville. We're going to. No S. We're moving to Cookville.
Starting point is 01:21:07 There's an E. not an ass. We'll get this bus toad there. Let's do it. My dad would probably get it running. My dad's pretty good with... Is he? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:14 Hey, but Joe... That's awesome, by the way. We need to get this thing running. Joe was on the one with C.T. Fletcher. Yeah. He talks about how awful CrossFit is, yeah. Oh, did he? Well, I didn't listen to the whole thing
Starting point is 01:21:25 because I think I was done driving by the time he was talking about all of his heart stuff that was going on. But apparently he was like, yo, they were talking about what was it? No, yeah. He doesn't believe in overtraining. No. He doesn't believe in over training. No.
Starting point is 01:21:36 I kind of agree. I kind of agree. C.T. Fletcher. You know who that is? Yeah, I know that is. Okay. And so he went through like big heart surgery. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:43 Yeah. And dude, just, he ended up passing out almost dying because he was out walking and thought like, I don't need to listen to these doctors and almost passed out and died again. Yeah. But anyway, he was talking about, they were talking about CrossFit and he was like, oh, we want Rich Froning on. I told him. I'm in.
Starting point is 01:21:56 I told him. I mean. I think that he was talking about what? Rabdo. Rapto. Rapto. Yeah. What do you think about that?
Starting point is 01:22:02 I mean, I think it's, some people are genetically predisposed to getting it. I don't think, like, I mean, I've done workouts where I should, by all means, should have had rabdo, and I don't get rabdo. What's rabdo? It's where basically your muscle tissue breaks down so fast. It goes to your bloodstream and goes to your kidneys. From over-training. From over-training. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:22:21 Or just doing a lot of stuff is like negatives and stuff like that really, really increases your chances of it. Correct. Yeah. But I think, man, there's just some people that get it and some people that don't. Like, I've seen people that can go do the hardest workout and not. None of that is even close to happening. And then I've seen people do not an easy workout, but a workout that you're like, ah, it's, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 01:22:43 And they'll get rabdo. So it's just some people get it. And then they say once you get it once, you're more likely to get it again. Yeah. I think they're talking about crossfitting over training. And he was like, curious. He's like, I want to get rich on to kind of talk about this stuff.
Starting point is 01:22:54 Yeah. Because rabdo, because he believes it. Yeah. And I mean, there is. I mean, it's obviously it happens. And people, it's something that you have to watch out for. The big thing is like athletes that know how. how to push and are out of shape.
Starting point is 01:23:07 Yeah. Because they will push because their mind is like, oh, I can do this. And then their body's like, we haven't done this a long time. And that's when they get hurt. That'll be Taylor. And so. I mean. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:19 In what way, Will? When you're old and you get out of shape and you're definitely going to be convinced that you can do it all. What if I don't get out of shape? I mean, then you won't be out of shape. Okay. Then you're good. Subtext over. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:30 Next. Next subject. All right. Such a stupid way to end this podcast, dude. No. No, no. But we get this dude on before Joe does. Yeah, I tell you what, dude, I'm a big fan of Joe.
Starting point is 01:23:42 I like Joe. Yeah. I'm not like, I'll listen to some podcasts, but they're so long. There's so much stuff, but like some of his stuff with, what's the lady that talks nutrition stuff all the time, she's super, super smart. And then you've got Ben Greenfield? Ben Greenfield. He's, man, he's out there.
Starting point is 01:23:59 He is. He does everything. He's out there. Yeah. And then I'm not a huge UFC guy. But some of his UFC stuff's pretty good. I just can't. You talk about Joe's UFC stuff?
Starting point is 01:24:09 Yeah. Yeah. I just like hearing him talk about it more than I like watching it. He's got such good insight. So good. I listen, dude, I'm a big like YouTube motivational video guy. Yeah. And I listen to all his stuff.
Starting point is 01:24:19 Dude, I get fired up about it. Same, dude. Super fired up about it. Yeah. And then, uh, is it, Jordan Peterson that he has on there. He's pretty good too. Some of his stuff, you're like, well, I didn't think about like that. That's how Taylor and I got on podcasting.
Starting point is 01:24:30 Well, who is it Alex Lewis? The first one? Alex Jones. Alex Jones. Jones. Do you that conspiracy theorist? Oh, yeah. He has like a four-hour podcast, dude. That guy's nuts.
Starting point is 01:24:39 Nuts. He had a first one, though, like a couple years ago. But that's, I look back at that one. That's how, that's how we were eating at the lunch table. And I was like, you got to check this one out. And you text me like, four hours later. And you're like, yo. It's crazy, dude.
Starting point is 01:24:55 But the thing that's crazy about Alex Jones, like, he'll say some off-the-wall shit. And then all of a sudden, he'll look this up, look that up. And you're like, oh, my God. Are we going to die? Are there aliens? It's crazy, dude. He had some crazy stuff going on. But yeah, check that out, dude.
Starting point is 01:25:08 Check that out for sure. And if you have the opportunity to go out there, that would be such a cool opportunity? Yeah. I'm supposed to talk to Lewis. Is it Lewis Hose? Yeah, yeah. Podcast. I'm doing.
Starting point is 01:25:16 I got that next week, actually. I'm doing it. He's like, uh, he's like schools of success. School of success. School of success, yeah. He's solid. I don't listen to that one, but they asked me to come out there. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:25:26 Yeah, it'll be cool. You just go out and do podcasts. It was awesome that Matt, it was awesome that what's his name got a hold of you. Oh, yeah, we can't talk about him now, right? We can't, no. But he's actually been doing a good job. Yeah, he does.
Starting point is 01:25:36 He does do a good job. He kills it. I just think it's his face, dude. Do you look for the Zach's NASCAR podcast? No. But we're not allowed to say that, are we? No. No.
Starting point is 01:25:45 We can say it now. That was the pilot episode, and you were literally trying to take over the entire podcast. No. I had to put a stop to it. Okay, you had to put a stop to it. Whoa, hang on. Don't put your hand up. Don't get, don't get that way.
Starting point is 01:26:01 Yeah. Don't get that one. Let's, you know, you get, do a little, do a little, drop your, drop your podcast. Dude, people have probably already tuned out by now. What did you think about the Boyer fight? It was good for the sport. Like, you did you say that? Did you guys see that?
Starting point is 01:26:16 I don't know if you saw it. Ryan Newman, Clint Boyer got into a fight after the race. Clint Boyer like. Through like 10 punches. Yeah, like ran up to his car. Yeah. It was kind of cool. I think I've seen that.
Starting point is 01:26:25 It was like, it was a theory, right? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. But, no, it's really, it really good for the sport. It got a lot of coverage. because of that because of the fighting needs it. So what's your podcast?
Starting point is 01:26:36 It's called Burnout Avenue. I didn't create the name, but it works. I kind of dig it, dude. You should have just picked it there. You should have kept it. You got to wait for the reaction. Own it. I mean, I own it. I mean, I like it.
Starting point is 01:26:46 He's fired up. Yeah, he's fired up. Burnout Avenue. It's about 40 minutes at each episode releases on Tuesday mornings. Here we go. Yeah. Full plug. Nice, man.
Starting point is 01:26:54 We got to start doing content for our YouTube video. I think we need to come up to Cookville. Come on. And we need to get Zach and a train. Bring the boys. Let's do it. We need to get him up. there, dude, and get him going.
Starting point is 01:27:02 We don't get him from Zach Rabbdow, but I'm probably not going to work out, but I'll sip a fruity drink and hit that. You got that? You got that? We'll do our own workout. Do you ever just hit banger arm workouts? Everyone's up. Dude, we'll hit it.
Starting point is 01:27:12 We'll hit a theory of arm workouts. Especially in August, yeah. Hell yeah, dude, I'm down. Absolutely. We're, we're, uh, what's your podcast? Uh, just frowning and friends. And then I can say, everybody knows how to follow you at Roach fron. At Rich Froning on Instagram and Twitter.
Starting point is 01:27:23 And then we just have crossed with him. There he is, dude. There he's just beating the head of it. Oh, he's just throwing the punches out there. That was like... That guy's got a helmet on, though. He's just eating him. The comment was best, though.
Starting point is 01:27:32 He goes back home when you do it, you get poked in the nose. That's what he said. It was pretty good. I was like, all right. I saw him. He matches. He walks away like it's not in a big business either.
Starting point is 01:27:42 Though, the thing they give him crap about, though, was he had his helmet on. The other guy didn't have his helmet on. The other guy he was punching on a car? He didn't have his helmet on? No. Oh, okay, so he was getting some Tostitos. And he had his helmet on.
Starting point is 01:27:53 Which would, I mean, when you're just fired up, You're going to leave your helmet on, you know? Yeah. But yeah. That's the thing, dude. See, I've been in a lot of football fights, especially in practice. People throw bows all the time.
Starting point is 01:28:03 And there's a technique to it. Dude, you grab the face mask and you cock it to the side. And then you get throats. And then you get throodies in. But a lot of dudes will just start punching in the face mask. You're like, okay, I'm just eating these and you're breaking your hand. Dude, I had a buddy one time. Martreel Spate reached back into his ancestry and freaking threw a haymaker.
Starting point is 01:28:21 Dude, had a helmet on. Knocked him smooth out. Really? With a helmet on. Dude, they were squared up too. You know, swinging, he reaches back, wow. And my man goes face first, belly down.
Starting point is 01:28:33 No way. Drops. With a helmet. Dude, buddy, had a helmet on. They both had a helmet on swinging. Doing the most ridiculous type of fighting. You got knocked out cold, too, one time with the helmet on. You remember that?
Starting point is 01:28:49 You remember that one? Taylor comes as like an interception. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, I'll get mine. I will get mine. I will get me. He runs across the field and Colleen's Taylor and Taylor just in the most, you know, like he was dead in the air. Yeah. And just falls and he's all, you know, all over the place.
Starting point is 01:29:07 And he's laser out cold like Apollo Creed and in Rocky Four. Done. Is that last year? Yeah, last year. It's the first game of last year, dude. So I get hit. You wake up and fly up like a madman, though, don't you? Yeah, people are.
Starting point is 01:29:20 Yeah, look at, oh my. Oh, my goodness. Oh, look at it. Who did it? Where do you go from? I'm out. I don't know. I'm good.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Don't put me in the concussion. protocol. I'm good. So yeah, I was in there before I could wake up, dude. They're like, that guy's in. There's Rabel in there. You can't wait to swing. I played in there. Everybody barking up, we don't fight. This is pro football. This is pro football. Because you're going to fight. We're going to run you. Yeah. Dude, the worst part
Starting point is 01:29:42 is this slap dick who hit me, dude, who is not even good in the league. Oh, she, here we go. Is it an interception, did you say? Yeah, it was an interception. Marcus, Marcus did an interception. I was following the play. Yeah. And so right here, I'm thinking my boys are like, well, there's a fight, like, let's go. Yeah. And they're like,
Starting point is 01:29:57 They're fighting for you. Oh. So I end up, dude, I don't know what's going on. Everyone's like, calm down, calm down. And I just start crying, dude. Like losing my mind. It was embarrassing. It was.
Starting point is 01:30:08 I take the towel. I'm like throwing it on his head. I don't let people know you're crying. So I sit on the bench and my helmet's off and Ben Jones are center. There's Willie baby. Oh, let's go. Coming off the bench. Our center takes a towel and puts it over my head while I'm just sobbing.
Starting point is 01:30:22 Just losing my mind. And I have no idea why. I got home that night and I saw my wife and I was like, yeah. No, They hit me and then I just started losing In front of the head. And she was like, yo, bud. Calm down, man.
Starting point is 01:30:33 Take a five. She stands there and then just leaves the room. Yeah. She just walked away. Yeah, dude, this slap nut sack, dude. He hit me. And the worst part is, is he just starts going,
Starting point is 01:30:45 body back. Oh, yeah, they got it on camera too. You didn't see anything. And you were to see my dead body in a second. There it is. I'm right there in the corner. Yeah, dude, I'll get mine, buddy. I'll see.
Starting point is 01:30:57 I'll see you soon, Branch. Don't worry. Branch. Dude, I love that. At an element. Where's that? Right there. Two.
Starting point is 01:31:06 And I'm out right there. Oh. Yeah. I got the feet facing the wrong way kind of thing too. That's the worst when you see just the limp body biscuit. Not the first time. Probably won't be the last. Hey, everybody gets it, man.
Starting point is 01:31:20 I know, dude. I played in a, my cousin does these alumni football games. So you pay 50 bucks. You wear full pass. ads. And so... What? Yeah, this was like
Starting point is 01:31:29 three or four years ago. That's hilarious, and so I go to return a kick, and it's on film. I don't have that, but dude comes from the far side, and I've got this ball, and I'm like,
Starting point is 01:31:39 I'm going to return this shit. And I cut through this hole, this guy goes completely unblocked from the start. Smas out of your high school all over again? Ear hole just decleeves me. I was like,
Starting point is 01:31:49 go out. Tears his labor, another surgery. So, but man, it was fun. Get there. That's in the own body bag right there. Definitely now.
Starting point is 01:31:56 She still with a dolphin? No, dude, he's on He's on that Will Compton program right now. Holy shit, weird shot at me right now. Wow. My God. Dude, I just did it because I know. Podcast with the boys, are we even boys?
