Are the results in from locker room CFB?
I'm sure they are.
We haven't tied them up yet.
There's a SMU and Florida State play tonight.
I want to say somebody.
Somebody might have had that game.
I know my units are down.
And by the way, that college football pick them,
I am interested to see how that went.
Yeah.
Because again, we're like,
we're on the app.
You can go head to head against us
picking 10 games against the spread
on games that we picked.
I know a lot of people love Fade and Willie C.
But if you come out, that is free to play.
You're not.
There's zero wagers.
that you're putting on it, you're just picking against us and Pate.
And if you come out on top, you're gonna get profit boost tokens,
you're gonna get bet resets, you could also be getting inside of a pot of up to what,
$500,000? $500,000 every week.
Yeah, yeah, every single week.
I gotta see what all my picks were.
Because I feel like my units are down right now.
Yeah, I feel like you, like when we did Baylor Auburn.
I was five piece.
I was like, well, whoever wins that bet is going to be essentially,
winning this week because I stayed pretty neutral the whole town.
I want threes across the board.
Yeah.
We can get squirly.
It can make you feel the most confident ever,
but it also can make, you know,
crash and burn.
No, and I lost five,
five units, confidence level five on Baylor Auburn.
I'm like, all right,
I'm in a race situation the rest of the year.
Which is what you want to be.
Like, I'm like, I just need to go fours.
You know, do my five hit threes and fours across the board.
Like, it's big unit time now.
You went for a big leap.
You missed the jump,
but now it's about taking incremental steps
towards greatness.
For sure.
small, keep it going, keep the pace between two and four.
We need two and three.
Did I go?
I might have went two and three.
No, I'm saying for like the near future.
Unless you just want to take a big stick between.
It's all, it's all units based.
So even the games that I won, like I'm still, I'm not feeling the best.
I got to see how it all shakes up because we are kind of measuring by units this year.
But knowing you just take a lump losing five units.
You're down.
Yeah.
It ain't even about like, oh, I had a, dude, if I went four and one and you lose five units,
It's like you ain't coming out feeling good.
I'm with you, brother.
There's a lot of people in college football that are not feeling good.
There's others that are feeling fantastic right now.
The game we were at this weekend,
which we will break down on the intro about the experience,
everything that took place.
But the game itself, LSU and Clemson,
LSU was favored by 10 and a half
when we spoke about this game at the locker room with Josh Pate.
It was an LSU cover from the moment the game started.
It was an ass beating.
It was an ass beating that took place.
I thought,
Kiffin handled it incredibly well in a Lane Kiffin way like the most Lane Kiffin way
possible handled it well then there was a a rain delay a lightning strike delay which
was like 90 minutes and as we're walking around the stadium people are kind of
show us this is where the locker room is this is the what visiting locker room is
and the visiting locker room is essentially two of these buses stacked together
they are tiny tiny lock-out you have a hundred guys in there crammed them in there and
Lane Kiffin after in the press conference is like no if they said if we want to go a
little earlier we could he said no because he remembers me on the other side and knowing how
bad that locker room is just the mind games taking place all the things making a shot in the
third quarter taking basketball and shooting it from the sideline going for two when they're up by
40 it's like this is lSU tigers land kiff and ls u like it's perfect it's a perfect marriage right now
and i just for me my personal picks for the season i have a lot weighing on lsu i hope
it keeps going this way.
Yeah, I mean, they dominated from start to finish.
Even going into that game where it's like all the angles, it's like the likely scenario,
yeah, LSU is who they seem to be on paper, this could be a blowout, there's tons of distractions
going on.
How is this game going to play out?
Like, does Clemson have a shot at all?
Like everything that Dabo has built as he's kind of, he is in the A gap, but as far as adapt
or die, he's somebody that's trying to stay in 10 toes on what his formula has been throughout
his career.
you got to see almost a death take place in Death Valley.
Because not only that, but even if you go to the first series
and you know how the first series is going to play out,
it's like, hey, what if you knew that this game
was going to start off by Sam Levitt throwing an interception
on the second play of the game?
And Clemson was going to be in enemy territory.
You're thinking like this, it could flip on its head.
Right.
Like this game is going to be throwing punch for punch.
But the way LSU kind of ran away with that game offensively,
defensively that defense flies the fuck around bro they have athletes everywhere and they're running
back number 13 yeah uh Harlem no it's Dylan Jones oh the Wisconsin transfer yeah dude he is a stud
he's very didn't even play much which is crazy beginning a little bit hey 13 is nice bro he can
run the ball as far as like you know you're sitting there you're kind of like man is Clemson really
this bad their tackling was very bad but 13 makes you miss like they have a juggernaut of a squad if
they keep it going because this week,
both LSU and O'Miss,
they're not even worried about who they got.
I want to say,
O'Miss play Charlotte.
LSU plays like Louisiana Tech.
It's all about week three.
LSU going to O'Miss,
and that game is going to be,
that game is going to be biblical.
Yeah,
that game will be something that,
yeah,
it'll be earthquake type of level stuff going down.
I'm concerned for Debo Sweeney going into this year now.
Oh, yeah, as far as like A-GAP and all that,
like, yeah, absolutely.
The question, and this is a great tier talk that we got from Super Alex Farms, is Clemson that bad or is LSU that good?
Hashtag FIREDBO, nasty.
Hashtag tier talk, hashtag tier one.
Like, it could just be that.
It could be LSU is that good.
And Clemson goes in the ACC and they do well.
I know they bench Vizina halfway through that game to give their freshman an opportunity.
But who knows?
Week one, everyone's going to overreact.
Everyone's an overreacting.
One, you're the greatest in the world or the worst in the world.
Week two is when you really see teams come alive
and start to really get in the groove of the season of who they are.
But this one doesn't, yeah.
You're right about overreacting.
This one was just so bad.
Like if it was 31-7 or 31-10 or, you know, 28-13,
I don't know to where it was still kind of an ass beating
and LSU kind of controlled the game the whole time.
But Clemson was in it.
I mean, they were won for 100 on third down.
Like they couldn't really get anything going offensively.
Defense couldn't really, you know, they weren't communicating that well, missing tackles everywhere.
I'm in that spot to where I respect what Dabo has done so much to where I feel like I'm a cat that's kind of hanging on to, you know, culture, coaching, experience, and they'll get it going.
But then when you go to the philosophies of adapt or die, and he hasn't adapted to this new era of college football that we might be witnessing the first death because there was no adaptation whatsoever.
And there hasn't been.
And 51, what, 10, and it was, they got their touchdown against the threes.
They just, they do, they look so bad.
They look completely shell-shocked.
I mean, they had like 20 punts on the game.
They could not do anything, bro.
Having a team with nine guys that got drafted a year prior,
go into Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in Death Valley, in front of that fan base,
with their new coach, all the transfers and the money they put behind it.
It was an uphill battle from the beginning.
I mean, even walking around pregame, seeing the,
the offense alignment, like they were noticeably like kind of running their RPM super high.
They were feeding into the energy.
And then you go in the internet, I don't know if you guys saw this clip, but there was one
where I think it might have been weeks or a linebacker blitzes.
And the left guard has his shoulders completely turned away.
And he is just kind of standing there where it's like that is, that's week one in a nutshell
for a lot of teams.
Some teams come out.
They look fantastic.
Super disciplined.
They're throwing the ball over the yard.
They look great.
And then other guys have like they are lost and it's one guy here, one guy there, but you compile that over 60 minutes.
You get a horrible result.
I'm with you when it comes to Davo.
Like yeah, this is the clip right here, 74.
And it's like, clearly you're supposed to get that guy.
Yeah.
You know, but with the debt, what you just said about dabble, like the adapter die, this was their version of adapting this year.
They brought in the most transfer guys they ever have since like the NIL era has started.
But it was still only like nine to 11.
guys and it's like when you when you're scared to jump into a new place a lot of times this is the
result you get sometimes you'll be right and be on the right side of like no this is the way things
are supposed to be but the way college football is going and how it's not slowing down from like how
much of a wild west it is you got to look at it similarly to uh the way lane kiffin does the way like
Ryan day did when uh they're talking about these NFL players going back he's like hey we got to evaluate
we got to do whatever's best for our school because that's how that's how coaches in this in this era
of college football are going to be successful.
Dabo, you don't want to trash the guy because of everything he's accomplished,
of winning two national championships, having all the success he did.
That is a very short, that leash is getting shorter and shorter, and it's not our decision,
right?
It's the boosters, it's the higher ups at Clemson that I made that decision, but that was
as tough of a game to watch if you're a Clemson fan than maybe any other team in all
of college football other than Rutgers, but I don't know how many fans,
Rutgers has, if I'm being honest.
I'm not even trying to be rude about that.
But like there's a different level,
like a different level of fandom
that takes place with Clemson as opposed to Rutgers.
No, it's just like to Ryan Nolan.
If you're the fan base of Clemson,
like that was a showing to where you're sitting there.
It's quiet in the living room.
It's quiet wherever you're watching.
And it's, you kind of don't know what to say
other than like, man, this really could be it
for a guy that, you know,
maybe not in that moment.
They're probably pretty pissed off about what you would dabbo.
but in that moment it's like a cat that you've won some natties with.
Right.
And we're already living in the world of like,
we're basically looking at Davos body and he's like,
hey, I'm still breathing.
We're like, he's dead.
Look at him.
He's no longer with us.
Like he's still,
he'd turn the season around.
At the end of the year,
if the noise will just get louder,
any loss that they have and if it keeps going the way,
that it feels like it may go.
Because that,
that ass beating is not just a,
it's like,
hey,
we got to throw the film away.
We got a culture.
It's like that that's a culture killing ass beating when there's so many questions
You might come in the tape in the trash like hey hey we can't watch that and you know 74 is like
Thank God we're not watching that like there's a handful of guys are dreading walking into that facility today being like please dabbo have a have a black suit on and just say we're dead we're moved that moving on from that we're gonna have the conversation
but does that actually happen? Oh yeah
if you get your ass beat like there I mean we did it um at the Titans
We started two and four,
2019, and when we did, like,
Braves came in and gave us the whole spiel of, like,
hey, look at the media,
look at our national and local media.
We're dead.
We're not alive.
Like, we're no longer on this planet with you guys anymore.
We need to be wearing black walking here because it's a funeral for this team.
So, hey, guys, work the way you want to work.
Apparently, we're just dead.
And then you spin it into a way like everyone hates you,
everyone's sleeping on you.
Fuck that film.
We're not watching that at all.
It was just going to the next week?
Because it doesn't matter, does it, fellas?
And you kind of walk away like,
kind of stoked we're not watching that
because I remember these four or five plays I had
that I really would hate to be exposed in front of the boys
around even though everyone's watched a film already
and then even the mistackles you show just the mistackles
like guys we are here to we make these plays this is a different
ball game even when in the first quarter when they had a glimpse of moving
moving the ball for a moment when they hit
when they hit their stud wide receiver
and you just show some of the highlights and then show
or the couple highlights that they have and then even
defensively guys we are in position to make all of these
plays and then you just spin it in your head mentally to brainwash going into this next game.
Yeah. The Dabo thing, I hope at the end, because it's going to be like, let's just say it keeps
going to be going to be going to be going to be calling for his head. As soon as he says, hey, I'm
done coaching or they fire him or whatever, it's going to immediately be, thank you so much for what
you've done for us, Davo. Appreciate you. And it's like, hopefully Clemson handles it with grace,
if that does happen. Once again, I'm talking as if the guy's been fired and all that.
You kind of painted the picture mid-year.
Yeah, I'm paying the picture.
Hopefully they handle it with grace.
This is week-one overreactions.
Week-one overreactions are taking place right now,
and it's really hard not to overreact to that game,
a Clemson game like that.
Yeah.
Brutal.
Yeah.
Absolutely brutal.
Biggest headline coming out of the weekend.
Yeah.
It's what some people are coining,
the Michigan screw job.
The Michigan Bell Mary.
What took place in Ann Arbor over the weekend against Western Michigan.
We were, we got done with the game
and we're kind of sitting on the,
on the van that we were on or the bus that we were on.
We're sitting on the tarmac waiting to get on the plane,
watching it from our screens.
Like we had our small phone,
Colump is holding it up.
We see the blast play because we know
that you're sitting in the back corner in absolute hell
thinking that mission will be losing this football game
because again we're kind of hanging on to a hell Mary there at the end.
In your mind,
it's already done,
it's already over.
Well, in my mind,
and I think everybody else's mind when we see the first hell Mary.
I literally put my phone down.
Well, yeah, everybody got real quiet.
It's like, damn, Western Michigan just shocked the world.
We kind of feeling like this is an upstate situation.
What in the hell is Michigan going to do from here?
And then all of a sudden, like a minute or two later, somebody comments that,
hey, they put another second back on the clock.
So everybody's trying to rush to get back on their phone, put the phone back up.
You see the hell Mary take place.
You guys win.
Celebration happens.
We're running all over the place.
We're hugging.
We're celebrating.
We kind of get on the plane.
And that's when we start to kind of.
Honestly, as we're taking off that, hey, should there even been a second put back on?
And so we're not going to apologize for losing.
We're doing all this.
We're doing everything we possibly can't do.
Everybody's going to bitch you about something.
Then when you land or we get a little bit of Wi-Fi while we're in the air,
we see that there was something kind of happening to where clocks weren't in sync.
You know, they should be putting a second back on.
Does Western Michigan deserve to be one in O right now?
And so it kind of took a couple hours for us to even understand what happened.
What has been going on in your moment?
mind since that moment took place, everything you've read, everything you've seen. Do you feel like
it was a bail-marry? Do you feel like it was a Michigan screw job? Let's paint the picture real
quick of what was happening. So we are there at half time. We leave after the first quarter because
we have to get back to we have to get back to Nashville after the first quarter of LSU Clemson.
At that time because of the rain delay and everything, it is nine, seven to nine, Michigan is losing
with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. This is what's going to
through my head right now. One, you bind
into the optimism of the off season. You hear all the good
things about Bryce Underwood, to hear all those things.
I haven't seen the film. I don't know what's true,
what's not. I'm just getting a lot of negativity
or negative things being
brought my way, whether it's a booster texting me, some higher
ups at Michigan. Me tapping Taylor's shoulder and being like
I don't have much better news. It's
9-7. Yeah, and there's six minutes left
in the game. We meet up with the boys after
and everyone's like, kind of giving me the look like
I'm Dabo Sweeney. Like, hey, we're looking
at a dead body right now. So I'm in a
blender. W-Fi's not great and this Hail Mary takes place. Clock hit zero. We lose to Western
Michigan. Then the second gets put back on. That is after I have been, I feel dead. I feel like I,
our season as quickly as week one started and the optimism of what Michigan can be. And the potential
of look at the juggernaut of a schedule we have, but a lot of people are putting us at nine wins.
And if you're at nine wins, who's to say you can't get to 10 wins?
And if you get to 10 wins, now you're looking at a college football playoff berth.
So I'm thinking to myself, just as fast as the optimism of excitement started for the season,
I am now in a grave.
My season, as a fan of Michigan, is over.
It's over.
Pulse fully not there.
Now I'm told that there's another second being put on the clock.
I don't know how that happened.
I don't know what, given all the things you said, we're sitting on tarmac, we're kind of just watching the game.
And I see it go down.
And it's like a jolt of energy.
You rush the field.
I rush the field.
I'm fired up.
Boys are jumping around.
I mean, clumps were dapping up and hugging.
Pate gives me this massive hug.
Everyone's just, we're excited about multiple things.
Excited that.
I'm assuming the boys are excited for me because my fan of from Michigan.
But also we're excited because we said on Friday on our show busting and paid on campus
and said, we'll see you in Ann Arbor next week.
Yeah, that was on the line.
And I'm sitting there thinking to myself.
This is why college game day doesn't say where they're going the next week.
Because college football is not a predictable game.
And I have to sit here in front of Annabre Michigan,
and for the fans of Annabre Michigan and be like,
here's why we're going to beat Oklahoma.
Don't look at the fact that we lost to Western Michigan.
But I'm going to tell you guys why we're going to win.
I was going to do that no matter what.
Because they didn't bring us to ESPN to all of a sudden just,
you know, throw our teams out the window and all of a sudden be completely unbiased.
We could have got a text saying you guys got to pick a different location.
And that probably would have been the best.
That would have been the best.
I've been like, yeah.
I think they're right.
Let's not go to Ann Arbor.
This is not the time to go to Ann Arbor.
But all the excitement happens.
People storm the field.
Michigan's getting absolutely body bags for rushing the field right now.
And I could look at that and put my nose up to it as well.
Be like, why are we rushing the field?
And I essentially did the same thing at the airport.
And that is, I did the same thing in the airport.

people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is
and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your

I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

That call was really pivotal for me.
Hey, it's Emily Tish Sussman.
And this season on She Pivots, the podcast where women share bold career moves and personal
turning points that changed everything.
I sit down with culture-shifting women who share their pivots like Paraly-Truitt.
I was like, I'm a month out from a shark attack.
There's no way in 11 months I'm making the Paralympics.
Advocate Elizabeth Smart.
I still feel that drive that I can still make a difference, so I'm going to keep going.
Celebrity chef, Carla Hall.
Was that scary to walk away from such a stable career after just two years?
No.
I was more afraid of being unhappy than I was broke and in a dead end job that I didn't enjoy.
And feminist legend, Gloria Steinem.
All of us were trying to express women's real lives.
We need a meeting place of.
our own. And if I can contribute to that, I'd like to maintain that and leave this house for that
purpose. Listen to She Pivotts on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcasts. Hi, I'm Michael Imperioli. I want to tell you about my new podcast, Underground Zero.
It's about what happened in the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center in
New York. We're looking at the opportunity of a lifetime for us and the other families.
While the world was mourning, five powerful New York families saw an opportunity.
The debris is supposed to go to the city-owned salvage yard, and some of it will.
They would go on to make millions of dollars.
What's in the tunnels?
Gold bars, Sylvaingetz. It could be worth half a billion.
And they would have made more if it hadn't been for one courageous cop.
No, Dad, don't.
You're going to need all of us. I'll call you when I can.
Frank, be careful.
Underground Zero, starring Steve Sharipa, Ray Abruzzo, and me,
Michael and Perrioli.
Would you be willing to see your family go to pieces?
Some ways it already has.
Listen to Underground Zero on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
And as the wheels are leaving the ground and we're flying back to Nashville, I'm having
post-knuck clarity.
I'm thinking to myself, dude, did you really just get excited about beating Western Michigan?
Did you really just, after a team that you didn't,
You don't see all the stats, but you know,
you don't really didn't run it well.
You hear that Bryce didn't play well.
I've been able to break down the film.
And so I'm now having this feeling on my head like,
dude, what is there to be excited about other than you have a win and a mark in the wind column?
There's nothing really to be excited about.
And I go to bed.
I wake up at 2.30 in the morning.
Cold sweats.
No, from a phone call.
This is not a joke.
A phone call from Shane Gillis.
2.30 in the morning.
My phone's on dinner disturbed.
So if you're not in my favorites contact,
which is like three people in there,
you have to call multiple times
for it to actually make your phone ring.
2.30, I look.
I'm like, what the fuck?
Is the alarms already going off?
Pick my phone up.
I look, Shane Gillis over there
and I just go,
fuck, answer it.
I go, please don't.
Please don't.
What are you guys doing?
Storm in the field.
This is my Michigan fucking sucked.
You guys are there.
And I'm like, dude,
I'm seriously,
I'm going to kill myself.
I just keep over and over.
And then he does a thing where he goes,
oh, hey, this is not that bad.
It's not that bad.
And then I start to agree with him.
He's like, but you guys are awful.
And it's like, takes me on this damn roller coaster for 20 minutes, dude, at 2.30 in the morning,
scary hours.
I wake up the next morning.
I watch the film.
And I realized something.
Like, we thought our season was dead.
Those fans have every right to storm the field regardless.
Like, you didn't storm the field because you didn't storm the field because you'd be.
Western Michigan, you stormed the field because your season was saved.
You stormed the field because the hope and optimism of what could happen is still alive,
regardless of how you feel about how the team played.
Because I'll be honest.
Hey, spoiler, Michigan played like shit.
They played bad.
They came in there.
They had one good series.
And after that, it all fell apart.
But the reality is, is your one and no.
I'm not going to defend one second being put on the clock.
I'm not going to defend the multitude of different clocks that
may or may not exist.
I don't have the capability to do such things.
But I know the result of what's taking place is Michigan won and Western Michigan loss.
That is what happened.
Who deserved to win that game?
Western Michigan deserved to win that game.
I watched a film.
On defense, they played harder.
On offense, they played more physical.
They did a lot of things.
So you look at that team and you go, they should have won that game.
But that's not the way college football works.
And I, if I'm a Western Michigan fan, if I already sit back, I can see him.
If I were to sit back, I would legit be boycotting the entire NCAA.
I would be picketing.
And so I have so much empathy for Western Michigan fans.
This is the result.
This is what we live in on a Monday as we shoot this recap show.
The result is Michigan has a win.
I do have good news for Michigan fans.
You're never as bad as you think and you're never as good as you think.
that film, our defense, flies around.
Flies around.
We're getting home with four.
All right, we're stuffing them.
The defense is going to keep us in the game going to next week.
And I'm not here to break down the whole thing.
I'm not here to break down the whole thing.
We got the locker room on Wednesday.
We got the locker room on Wednesday.
Did Western Michigan win the Mac last year?
Yeah, did UTIP have two wins last year?
We had two Oakland played?
Yeah.
Did Uteb's entire office line have their first D1 start?
Yeah, they did.
So there's a lot.
a lot of things take place. Does Bryce Underwood need to play better? Yes. Here's the negative.
On the offensive side of the ball, looked like a bunch of guys playing like they were thinking
about what they should do next, not just playing the game of football. That's the biggest thing
I saw. A lot of MAs, a lot of guys comboing to multiple combinations, going to one linebacker,
a lot of things. All I had to say is 48 hours after what could have been a travesty.
The reality is Michigan's still undefeated. Our season is still.
live and all the things that I saw in film are very fixable going into this week against
Oklahoma.
That's how I feel about all that.
Clean take.
Clint take.
Michigan has a win.
Michigan's won.
Clean take.
Clinton took Michigan won the game.
And I, I am not going to go 2023 Taylor again.
All right.
I'm not going to walk around with the, you know, we're great.
Everybody else is.
I'm not doing that.
because I don't, I understand the pain of being a college football fan now.
I've gone through the last two, I get it.
And I know that my optimism and judgment of how the Michigan Wolverines are going to do,
it goes into week two.
And I've said it since the beginning, since our futures.
I will tell you how I feel about Michigan after week two.
Nothing's changed.
It's on our company calendar.
It's on our company calendar.
You say you understand over the last couple of years,
but didn't you go like eight and five and like nine and three last year?
Yeah, but that's, here's a deal, dude.
And listen, eight and five, nine and three, like.
I saw Will's face when you said that.
I kind of like,
I kind of understand the pain.
I don't think you had a losing season.
Here's the deal.
And I understand like from where you're coming from,
like where you guys were at a much lower place than Michigan has been
as far as like, bold names.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You don't have to talk to it.
I get that.
You don't have to talk to.
But you're looking at, you're looking at the University of Michigan.
a blue chip franchise, a team that has more wins than any other college football team that has
just as much money as any other college football team, the expectation for Michigan, especially
in this NILA era, should be what Ohio State is doing every week, which is real, every year,
which is reloading, should be what Georgia is doing, well, should be what LSU is doing right now.
Like, they should be a team that reloads every single year and you don't have to worry about
Western Michigan. You don't, and that is just the expectation of fans.
I'd see expectation at the school.
That is what Michigan football is.
So you sit here and it's like, yeah, 9 and 3, 8, and 4, it's like, but we know what that 9 and 3 was, our schedule.
Like, we all can sit there and be like, yeah, we ran the ball and we're just tougher and better football players on the field.
That's why we're 9 and 3.
We need to take a step.
I think this is the best case scenario for a team like this where you are, it's do or die this week.
You can't just sit there and be like, you have a win, but every bit of us, anyone who,
is like I'm about Michigan football,
which is less of us every single week,
it seems like,
as like college football keeps going,
which is exactly where you want to be
if you're a true fan of Michigan.
There is no like,
oh, we feel good about what just happened.
So the team should feel that way,
the coaches should feel that way,
and I think there's going to be
an absolute bloodbath
that takes place in Ann Arbor this weekend.
A bloodbath.
Deep State college football interjected
with that, with the second.
And all the things that you're saying,
I did everything.
where you're coming from.
I take no,
I take no disrespect by that comment at all
because I can't,
I'm not going to sit here
and argue that point
because it just,
that this becomes truly bullshit biased
Michigan fan stuff.
And it's like,
I would be,
if I'm not a Michigan fan,
I would be livid about that as well.
But at the end,
if you're Western Michigan,
you talk about boycotting.
Like,
this is where you're taking a need
for the national,
during the national land.
I'll say this.
You got a boycott.
I'll say,
I don't know what America had to do with this.
I'll know about all that.
We like that fun on the podcast.
We're having fun right now, dude.
We haven't fun.
Dude, I think the way the head coach,
what was his name, Taylor, last name's Taylor,
coach for Western Michigan.
First off, great bit, what's his name?
Lance Taylor.
Lance Taylor.
The way he handled himself in that press conference,
didn't lose his mind, said he hadn't seen it.
He talked to the AD.
The 80's already in touch with the Big Ten.
Lance Taylor, high character guy.
This is this dude could have had yet every reason to bitch and moan about the result that took place in
In the big house and he stood there and he handled a loss with grace
He gave credit to Michigan. He gave credit to his team. He handled it like yeah
Everybody should as well as he could yeah and I I had a lot of respect for Lance Taylor
Yeah, a lot of respect the AD the uh was the president but yeah I mean look you're you're in the max so it's like hey big bro's coming in
that probably tell you that you're going to have to get in line with this decision.
You know what's just such a ridiculous thing is like, okay, let's just say everything's true
that the Big Ten interjected.
They put a second on the clock because they couldn't see one of their media darlings get hurt with Michigan.
Let's say that that actually happened.
Michigan's not on the one yard line.
They're not on the five.
They're not even in the red zone.
They're on the 47 yard line.
And adding one second being like, okay, give them another shot at a Hill Mary.
Oh, that one didn't count either.
we'll do another one after that.
Like, that is, it's kind of, that's, that's where I feel like it starts to get a little far-fetched.
Yeah.
With the clock, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's not like there's one more, like one yard to go.
We got, you know, this Michigan officer line who last year they have all the returning starters
and they're going to be able to pile it in.
You're in the 47 and your most unproven asset you have is the quarterback to this point.
And so you're just working to be like, oh, that's the reason why.
I get all the anger and all those things, but that's where I get to like,
or we're in the 47 yard.
I do agree with you from that standpoint.
I just think it's an absolute, like, kind of disservice to everybody tuned in by, you know,
kind of just telling everybody that the clocks weren't in sync.
And you're talking about this clock, this eagle-eye deep state clock out of nowhere that's coming in.
And from our angle and the way we're breaking it down, I just feel like it's very inconsistent.
And where everybody's mind goes is, would that happen if the rolls were reversed?
and it was Western Michigan trying to get a hell Mary
and the clock hit zero.
Like, would they go into a deep dive there
and try to figure out milliseconds and everything else
where football has never done that?
Like, the rule in the NFL is,
if there's an inconsistency,
you have to lean on the clock that is being televised
or the game clock that's happening in the stadium
that they're using, not some clock
that kind of came out of nowhere to everybody else
on breaking down this second.
And either any other situation in college football,
like if that were to happen,
are they doing a deep dive?
Maybe they are for the big prominent teams, but if it's a FCS school or a lower level team, like, are they doing that for them to where I completely get the outrage about it because it is.
It's kind of fucked up.
It's like, dude, the clock hit triple zero on every clock that anybody else can see.
But then there's this one that comes out of nowhere that nobody really has understood or known about.
That's like all these milliseconds that are left on zero.
It's like, okay.
So if there's mill, which I'm with, like when you do the whole millisecond or the basketball show.
shot clock when it's ticking down and you have a full second even when it hits zero if you guys are
on the line of scrimmage and you spike the ball at zero when the clock is hit zero you spike
the ball. Do you get to go back and now get into the millisecond game on did you spike the ball
at the right time when the clock hit triple zero or if a coach can he now wait till it hits triple zero
across the board when it hits triple zero time out and then be like hey go into the going to the
eagle eye clock, the deep stick clock that's out there and find the milliseconds that we have,
even though everything says triple zero on TV in the stadium everywhere. It's like now you can dive in.
There's like I just feel like it's an inconsistency that adds to a list of all the things you feel
like college football. You already have this list that you feel like you have to fix with scheduling
with college football playoffs, all the shit that goes on legally with college football right now.
And now it feels like there's just another thing to where, hey, there's not, we're not very,
We're not really clear on what the ruling is here,
and we just have to lean on what you guys tell us
a couple hours after the game.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
I agree with that.
Like I said, I'm not, it'd be an injustice for me to go
and just try to like fight the fight of the second or no second.
It's just, especially coming out of my mouth.
It's like everything I say is like if I'm trying to defend it,
it's just going to come off as bullshit.
Yeah.
And when I look at it, it's like I can see one.
or two or three things that I could say as a point.
But at the end of the day, like, I'm a Michigan fan.
I'm biased towards Michigan.
And if I go and I'm like this,
and then I'm taking away from Western Michigan,
I'm taking away from the integrity of the game.
So to me, it's like, yeah, this, it smells fishy.
It feels uncomfortable.
I see a couple of reasons how it does kind of work with the split second here and there
because you can't just go one zero done.
It's one, zero, and then that full second ends.
Other than that, it's like, yeah, dude.
Yeah.
If I'm not a Michigan fan, I'm pissed off too.
Because people are bringing up, it's like I was sitting there before we took off.
It's like I brought up Texas, Nebraska in 2009.
And then our profile on X had posted Mac Brown doing the point.
Like there's one second left, one second left.
Like the PTSD, everybody's talking like, oh, Will, you remember back in 2009.
But even when you look at this 09 game on the TV clock and everything else,
you can kind of see the ball hit out of bounds before it hits triple zero.
to where I'll sit there and play the game and be like,
oh, they put one second back on.
Deep State college football took it over from Nebraska
and do that whole thing.
But you're seeing all these examples and videos
that have came up through the history of college football.
Now, even with, which I didn't even know this,
but even Michigan in 97, Arizona State was driving.
They would have had to have thrown a hell Mary.
But they get on the ball when you guys are playing for the national title.
And Arizona State clocks it with like,
and the ball hits where there's like two seconds,
but it ticks all the way down to zero.
Everybody storms the field, Michigan wins,
they would have had to have thrown to hell Mary.
But it's like everybody's going to do so much of these antics now
because of what happened in Ann Arbor
on this inconsistent gray area
and the gods, the football gods coming out
and be like, no, that there was a second back still on the clock.
Yeah.
It just puts everything kind of in a tough spot.
It puts it, yeah.
And nobody knows, like the entire public
are just seeing the clock or two that the game is showing us.
And then, again, again,
out of nowhere the front office the upper room is coming and saying no there's another clock here
that nobody knows about or even understands but everything was out of sync and it's like yeah it's
kind of fucking on all of you guys then if that was out of sync yeah if you are western michigan i mean
that that's you can absolutely feel like something not taken from you but if you want you'd probably
feel really good about heading into the mac oh yeah you got to feel pretty good about heading in the
mac right now and and to your point two the thing that the only thing i'll all stand on is like okay
know all the like all the anger towards Michigan from like 21 to 23 and all the stuff with the
extracurricers when the head coach gets fired last year I can get and understand why people don't
like that this result had nothing to do with Michigan like this like Michigan didn't call
and say you need to fix this this is a this is a bigger conference thing like if if there's someone
to be like hey if you're a hater on Michigan and you think they uh western Michigan got screwed
you're not pointing at the maze in blue here
you're pointing at the conference itself
and if you go to point of mission
it's like they it's not like
you know
Whittingham called up and said
we need to do this or the new AD or you know
what I'm saying? He wanted to lose that game
he was pissed that they even won he's pissed
that the hell Mary even took place
you see his stoicism throughout the entire
end of the game like he's fucking pissed

On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
I chose option B.
I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say,
yes without asking anyone else first.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita,
trading the pity for possibility.
Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people,
and they were like, you smiled at us.
Not a lot of people smile around here.
It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is
and not the lies you're sold about it.
It can be a time where you push your limits,
change your mind,
or wake up to a new version of yourself.
So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
That call was really pivotal for me.
Hey, it's Emily Tisch Sussman, and this season On She Pivots, the podcast where women share bold career moves and personal turning points that changed everything.
I sit down with culture-shifting women who share their pivots like Paraly-Truitts.
I was like, I'm a month out from a shark attack.
There's no way in 11 months I'm making the Paralympics.
Advocate Elizabeth Smart.
I still feel that drive that I can still make a difference.
So I'm going to keep going.
We need a meeting place of our own.
And if I can contribute to that, I'd like to maintain that
and leave this house for that purpose.

Hi, I'm Michael Imperioli.
I want to tell you about my new podcast, Underground Zero.
It's about what happened in the aftermath
of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
We're looking at the opportunity of a lifetime for us and the other families.
While the world was mourning, five powerful New York families saw an opportunity.
The debris is supposed to go to the city-owned salvage yard, and some of it will.
They would go on to make millions of dollars.
What's in the tunnels?
Gold bars of Engitz.
It could be worth half a billion.
And they would have made more if it hadn't been for one courageous cop.
No, Dad, don't.
You're going to need all of us. I'll call you when I can.
Frank, be careful.
Underground Zero, starring Steve Sharipa, Reh Abruzzo, and me,
Michael O'Oli. Would you be willing to see your family go to pieces?
Some ways it already has.

Keep it tasty with neutral.
Let's get back to this episode.
I had one thing.
Go ahead.
The whole like the fix was in for Michigan.
It's like, why wouldn't they do that the whole game then
and make it not even happen if the fix was in.
Yeah, why have 10 penalties for 90 yards?
It makes no set.
Like that is the dumbest take I've heard in a long time.
The people that are like, oh, the fix was in for Michigan.
Why would they make it come down to a Hail Mary?
And the fix is like...
In Michigan, Michigan is like the essentially the LSU of the Big Ten.
But people hate Michigan.
And people were talking about...
The VIII hates Michigan.
People were talking about the like, you know,
Vegas odds and everything else.
I'm like, yo, Michigan was favored by what...
27 and a half.
27 and a half points.
Like, what?
Talking about this game was fixed on a...
Wasn't close to the total.
Wasn't close to...
Like what?
Like, there's a couple of people
on Western Michigan Money Line.
Those people are fucking...
They broke the shit out of their TV.
They are absolutely pissed, man.
If I'm them too, I'm coming for fucking blood.
Yeah, I can get on board with that.
But they didn't even know sharp on the Western Michigan.
Like, it is true just Western Michigan.
I love my team.
I'm going to put $25 on this one just because always.
Do you feel like it is the emotion that you were talking about when you guys did finally win the game and you feel like your season was over?
Is there a part of you that's a little like, God, why did we storm the field?
Because statistically, if you go into the analytics, this is the worst storming of the field in college football history.
Out of all the storms that have taken place.
Who said that? Yeah, who's doing the analytics on the worst, the worst vibe to storm a field?
So, yeah, just, I'll pull it up.
Willie C. 51.
I think Michigan fans.
Stadthole.
At Stadthold Sports, I found 175 college football field storm since 2019.
No team had a sadder storm field.
and Michigan, who was favored at minus 27 and a half last night,
and Michigan holds two of the three saddest field storms.
We'll continue to chart more field storms in prior years.
This is my new quest.
This is my new quest.
This is my new quest.
That guy rocks.
He's got a chart here and I'll send it to you so you can put it up.
That guy rocks.
He's got a chart here of all the storms that has happened and how big the lines are and what the saddest ones have been.
And Michigan holds, yeah, to Colorado over Colorado State is a bad one.
Michigan over Maryland in 2023.
You guys stormed the field when you were a favorite 18.
And then Kansas State over Oklahoma in 2019.
That was plus 23 and a half.
I'll say this, dude, that's Maryland game.
I said before that season's part.
That'd be the hardest game of our entire schedule,
and I was right.
Taylor, you might hate this,
but I think Michigan fans should storm the field
every win all season now.
I think they should just...
That would be a funny troll.
That'd be a funny troll.
Just lead into it and do it every game.
They storming the field, like, when I, like,
trust me, when I woke up,
yesterday morning, like, I had embarrassment going back and looking at me running around like a schoolboy
around the plane and the bus.
And then I started to think about it and it's like, it's not about beating Western Michigan.
It's about keeping the season alive.
Yeah.
Like we all 115,000 people that showed up at that stadium yesterday were have the optimism of we have an adult in the room.
We finally have culture.
We have so many pieces.
Regardless of the score of the West Division game, that's a top 15.
roster. That is a top 15 roster. And for that to happen, be dead on the floor, then all of us
going to be spun back to life. You're essentially given a second chance in your college football
life in 2026. I don't hate it at all. I don't hate it at all. Now, if we go and win the game
by 14 points and we storm the field, say, all right, I like it. I guess. I will do what do you want?
But what are we doing gatekeeping fandom? We can't let people just... I feel like there is a...
You feel like people want to tell you how to be a fan of sports.
People want to tell you how to act when you look at your team.
Do we shun chef when Tennessee loses and he's in a bad mood?
Yeah, he's allowed to be how he wants with his team.
Do we get on Jack?
And he's at every single Titans home game and they're had the first overall pick in the draft,
but he's still there in mid-December?
Yeah, but Jack should be allowed to be a fan the way he wants to be a fan.
trying to grab as many people.
I would have never stormed that field, though.
I would have never storming.
And that's, listen, that's what you're taking away from a good storming, though.
Like, you take away from a moment.
A good stormy is, hey, Jack, your season's dead and then you're pronounced dead.
The doctor comes in and he looks at his watch.
Time of death, 1645.
And then all of a sudden, you come back to life.
You're not going to be pretty excited about walking through the pearly gates and getting thrown back into the real world and have another chance.
You're also a guy who, well said.
You're a big fan of Whittingham.
I think Whittingham's going to be a good coach for Michigan,
but taking on the personality of your head coach too.
Like I'm sure there's a percentage of fans that took on that persona as well
where it's like there's nothing to be happy about right now.
Like we got some shit to fix.
Absolutely.
And those fans are allowed to be who they want.
I mean, dude, I do I, if I sat here and you're like,
before the game started, hey, Taylor, do you think they should storm the field to be at Western Michigan?
They're like, no, I don't think so.
Also, I'm one fan.
and but the sequence of things that did take place,
they storm the field, let them storm the field.
And I think it would be hilarious
if we, every single game we win from here on out,
we storm the field.
Even if y'all lose.
That's a resilient.
It's getting lost too.
That's a resilient football team.
All those kids, the game was over.
They lost the football game.
And then, oh, hey, one more play, one second.
Still have the belief.
Kyle Whittingham led them there.
I love it.
I think it's, people will hate hearing this,
but I think this will be a great story
for Michigan.
year because it'll it'll just take them to the top now how many times how many times
have we looked at clean take clean take how many times we looked at a team in
week one be like oh they're dead there's no more and then we get into the middle of
October and they're like remember week one how we thought all the like they they were
gonna suck and then all of a sudden I don't think that's gonna happen with Clemson okay
didn't know we were talking about yeah yeah just to go back in the dabbo thing
I think he's dead just to circle back he doesn't have a chance
I think, listen, storming the field, you could have your opinion on it, but I think at the
end of the day, let's let fans fan. Let fans the way fans want a fan. Clean take. Clean take.
Clean take. Clean take. At the end of day, you wouldn't do it? Oh, good. You're not that type of fan.
No worries. Let's let fans fan onward.
Big 10.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, Jack.
No, I just love it
I mean from the true college football
fan on the bus like you know
You've been a fan for
Four years now
There's a good
There's nothing
There's nothing there's nothing wrong
I just like you're like let fans fan
But you're also like backtracking
Being like you shouldn't be on the other side
Yeah tenure doesn't be talent dude
At the end of the day
If you have you been a fan for 30 years
A talented fan
Like you you walk in
You can be a fan of whoever
but if you're a fan for two, three years,
but you love your program
and you want your program to win,
you'll do a lot of things,
you're talking to boosters and the NIL fund
to help them scout and look at teams.
Like, I'll do what I can for the University of Michigan.
I've donated money to the University of Michigan.
Well, I've done money.
If it's, yeah, Will also has done it to the University of Michigan.
If you're a fan for a day or for a century,
and it's generation after generation
doesn't make you any better or worse as a fan.
Agreed.
Okay.
So your comment just was out there for no reason.
Just want to put that in the ether?
A little bit.
Big Ten,
Big Ten Conference struggled over the weekend.
The Big Ten Conference struggled over the weekend.
We got to talk about some of these games that took place.
Brutal.
Yeah.
On top, we just talked about Michigan,
but Michigan underperforming.
Ruckers.
Oregon underperforming against Boise State.
You got Ruckers that got.
their ass beat by UMass. You got Washington against Washington State. They were in a dog fight
until they started to take off in that fourth quarter. But I feel like there's, you know,
this whole conference where you, overreaction Monday. Overreaction Monday. Overreaction Monday.
Overreaction Monday. Let's overreact. Big Ten washed. Big Ten took, big ten took a big step back.
Big Ten sucks now, dude. Yeah, yeah. It's really the ACC and the SEC. They went 16 and two in
And week one, washed.
Washed.
Washed.
But the 16 didn't look great.
And it's week one, so it's overreact to a little bit.
Oregon, I picked them to win the national championship.
Do they look like a national championship winner on Saturday?
No, sir.
No, they did not.
Penalties kind of took a lot of teams down.
We talked about how great the Big Ten conferences.
Rutgers lost to UMass.
Horrendous.
No disrespect.
No disrespect.
No disrespect.
We're like, oh, okay, you Mississippi State down there, bottom as you see like Rutgers, Purdue, Minnesota.
We get that game this weekend, Minnesota.
Mississippi State.
That's going to be a good game, actually.
Actually, we'll see.
Because Big Ten's washed.
They're cooked, dude.
They're done.
Kevin's out of food's clean take.
Baked 10 is done, dude.
Week one of the season's over.
Bake 10 is cooked.
That's not a meat tank.
That's a clean tank.
It's what it is, man.
Nebraska.
I'll tell you this, though.
Oregon.
Can't put my finger on that one.
Best roster in college football
and a dog fight with Boys State.
A lot of respect for Boise State out there.
Until you look at last.
and you realized that Oregon sucked the first three weeks as well.
They didn't cover one time.
They were a slow starting team.
We'll be fine.
Oh, okay, glom.
I forgot.
Fan how you want.
Talent.
How you want.
Thank you.
Don't keep my...
I think you, with the experience coming back on the roster that they do have and the plan
that's been in place there with landing running the ship, you know landing is, that whole team is on, their assholes are tight because you got 10 penalties, shooting yourself in the foot, you're four for 12 on,
third down. It's, yeah, it's a slow start and you just, even though they, they have the history
of doing it the first three weeks last year, like, that is still, the urgency has to be there.
You can't be having a close game with Boise State. And again, no disrespect to Boise State.
But if you are going to be the team you think you are this year, you got to come out faster than
that. We got too many, we got too many guys with experience on this roster. We have too much
fucking talent to be shooting ourselves in the foot with 10 penalties in a game. Absolutely. I think
if you look at
the two OC and DC
leaving it was kind of one of those things
that was briefly mentioned
this bus you mentioned it a few times
I said if I had to find anything
and I'm trying to reach
it would be the coordinator switches
that took place and we had a conversation
with somebody on Saturday
pregame talking about
how they had a conversation
with Nick Saban he only had to deal with it once
but he talked about how big of a deal that is
so you look at this
without looking at what happened last year
with how slow of a start they had
and it's like maybe that is a bigger issue
than we thought.
Because from the defensive side of the ball,
there should be,
it should be very difficult to score on Oregon.
Should be very difficult to score.
I was fired up too because at halftime,
I took the live line,
and Oregon was favorite at seven and a half.
Oregon wins by seven.
They're right there to kick the field going,
I'm just,
I wanted to just call landing in real time,
be like, buddy,
kick the goddamn field.
Yeah, I get it, buddy.
Get the goddamn people go.
I need this.
Covered to happen.
Truly.
But yeah, big 10's washed.
They'll never recover from this.
I mean, even if you look at Ohio State and Ball State in the first quarter,
they didn't look too great.
They went three and out in their first series.
So who's to say that there's actually no contenders in the Big Ten?
There might be no contenders in the Big Ten now.
Huskers looked good that last quarter and a half football.
Yeah.
But they struggled in the first half, so they're dead too, man.
They had some juice the Huskers at the end.
Yeah, they did.
And it's the same thing.
Like, Huskers had nine penalties.
He's like coming out of the halftime, that first series where they caught a penalty.
But after that, when you play clean football, like Nebraska did a great job running the ball.
Jamal Rule.
I mean, Mackay Nelson, Nasea Hunter, fucking Calandria, they were moving the football.
Like, there is a lot of good shit on tape.
And again, like, people are texting me, be like, hey, Will, were you sweating during halftime?
Like, yeah, a little bit because the score was 14 to 13.
That second, that second, that second field.
goal that they had came off of a face mask that happened when we when we sacked old buddy
going in and you just shoot yourself in the foot over and over and when you have penalties
because we were running the football well even early in the game but you get penalties you back
up you play behind the sticks but I am glad that last quarter and a half did happen for them to come
out and eventually you've covered the entire game yeah because you outscore him 35 to 8 but I was
sweating there for a moment but it was all poise you know I got people texting long season it's
going to be a long game. It's all good.
We're sitting there in the pocket. And it was,
the thing that I was like, wanted to get your opinion about is Kalandria's body
language on a couple of those routes.
There's a few times he threw the ball guy, like to a place that the guy wasn't at
and he'd be verbally assaulting somebody.
Yeah. I mean, yeah, I don't know. I know this team really plays for this dude,
Calandria. So you don't know if he's like taking charge as far as leadership out there
and there's an expectation of, hey, you need to understand this is where you have to be.
Even a couple of dropped balls that you had where he had, I just, I like Calangiar's swagger.
I like his juice.
Him going through progression.
When he makes a decision, he makes a decision and he rips it.
And again, the running game that we have, we move the ball very well.

Was that scary to walk away from such a stable career after just two years?
No.
I was more afraid of being unhappy than I was broke and in a dead end job that I didn't enjoy.

Hi, I'm Michael Imperioly. I want to tell you about my new podcast, Underground Zero.
It's about what happened in the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
We're looking at the opportunity of a lifetime for us and the other families.
While the world was mourning, five powerful New York families saw an opportunity.
The debris is supposed to go to the city-owned salvage yard, and some of it will.
They would go on to make millions of dollars.
What's in the tunnels?
Gold Bar, Silver Ingech.
It could be worth half a billion.
And they would have made more
if it hadn't been for one courageous cop.
No, Dad, don't.
You're going to need all of us.
I'll call you when I can.
Frank, be careful.
Underground Zero, starring Steve Sheripa, Ray Abruzzo,

Some ways it already has.

In Ohio was a, you know, they're a tough team coming out of, out of the Mac.
But I was, I was pleasantly surprised with how well we started executing once we started
playing penalty-free football.
Outside of the blown coverage coming out of the first drive.
Like, dude was just standing there and that kind of, you know.
That was wild.
Because not that it was just a blown coverage, but my man just stopped playing.
It's almost like somebody put the controller down.
playing the video game.
Like he there wasn't even finished
there or anything else. Yeah, yeah.
He like saw the news was supposed to do
but his body just didn't functioned out.
He kind of stepped outside and just turned
and watched it be thrown
and then he doesn't just take off sprinting right away
and he's kind of thinking like, oh shit
that that could possibly be my guy.
Oh, it is my guy.
But outside of the blown coverage
and penalties that we kind of had,
like we got rolling in the second half
and I thought we did a lot of good things.
I thought the old line played pretty well.
And then we'll see because we got
bowling green, I believe this weekend.
Dakota the weekend after that and then we'll get in the conference play with Michigan State
and Maryland which Maryland beat the brakes of whoever they played Michigan State didn't look that
good against Toledo another one that's kind of put on yeah that was one roughs in the death of the
conference it was Friday night and I'm like looking at my phone I had a full nasty tweet put out to
about Michigan State event got it and post that proud I didn't post that yeah yeah like
Toledo went up in the second half I just hate Michigan State dude I really do I can't say I can't
but but Baylor Auburn you're gonna put you up or put you up or put you on
the mic for a second.
Head to Big 12 country right here and SEC.
Everyone's on.
Goalish, Byron Brown,
and DJ Lagway.
You had a weekend with your old man too, bro.
And DJ Lagway.
Dude, a lot of fun.
I've truly never gone into a game with that much nerves of, like,
excitement butterflies.
I was very excited.
Being a homer of a team,
every everybody's got like a little bit of that oh man I don't think they see what I see what we could be you know I think we could get eight wins in the big 12 I think we could do this and make some noise and the only questions really was is the defense going to be there Spavidol's had the offense there for the last three years looking nicey and every single defensive play I was just watching our defensive line and it was so much fun watching the game from
that aspect. I'm usually watching the opponent's quarterback or trying to see if the wide receivers
are getting open, but I was watching our defensive line every play and we looked really strong up front.
Obviously, don't get the result that you want, but I saw a lot of things that got me really,
really excited for Baylor as far as the rest of this season goes.
I think there should be some optimism. I thought it was a pretty underwhelming performance
with goalish in that offense. Yeah. Like we were kind of talking about the tempo
aspect before we jumped on the bus and knowing that they had you know bailer did a great job of keeping
them off the field like uh byron brown i know there's there there are some fun debates taking place
before we all got on the bus but again it was like the x factor to me wasn't i was very bullish on
golish in that offense and them having tempo but the way you minimize that tempo is you went on first
and second down to where you're behind the change and baylor did a great job of doing that it's just is
Baylor going to get there offensively with Lagway because Lagway, there were those iterations
of this is still the DJ Lagway that came from Florida with, you know, made an incredible
athletic feat jumping over old buddy, but then losing the football, throwing an interception.
And then you guys were right there.
The play design on that last play for the two-point conversion, it was there.
They had urgency getting to the line of scrimmage.
You can tell that Auburn was in a man coverage, a zero blitz, a one blitz, whatever
was, they were man-a-man, they were kind of discombobulated, they got to the line of
scrimmage fast, they had the right call, the right play design, and the dude was going to be
wide open because the guy covering him was caught in the wash. Number five just made a hell
of a play coming off of the point man, knowing that this dude was going to run free out in the
flat. If Lagway just puts a little out in front, a little faster, you guys win that game,
but the defender for Auburn just made a hell of a play. Coming off of his assignment and going
making that tackle.
That's, you guys were there, man.
Right play call, write everything.
We were.
And just to like romanticize it because I love that monologue that Josh did about the NIL and like
everybody's all crazy talking about NIL.
But, you know, wait till you're on that Saturday.
You're there, you know, at the goal line.
And the play's about to be called and like time freezes.
And that's what college football is all about.
And keeping alive on what fourth and 10, fourth and 11?
Fourth and 12.
And I did not.
I did not watch that play.
I covered my eyes.
I like truly could not watch it.
My dad was shaking me.
It was like, what the hell are you doing?
I was like, I think they have a better shot of converting if I don't watch it.
I don't know how to explain that.
Can I just read seven to nine text messages?
I received Sherman Young right after the game.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
These are all no context to them.
But the first one is a high key want to walk into the Cumberland River and forget how to swim.
then it's Taylor dot dot dot call a doctor not being dramatic it's that bad and then the last one is
I told Twitter I was going to go to Magic City to get wings if we lost that's that's that's
that's in the first corner of the mission game and I'm like trying to be there for sure when
shrimp said Taylor dot a dot a doctor no joke I'm like fuck is this the cry for help that I actually
Do I need to actually do something here?
I was legitimately worried about him.
He let that part out where you text him back.
You're like, hey, are you all good?
Yeah.
Because you also didn't respond for like two minutes.
Yeah, yeah.
And you were pretty, you were firing him pretty fast.
Yeah, I was like, I'm not kidding.
I'm not kidding.
Call a doctor.
And then it turned out all he needed was a batch of boiled peanuts and no therapist.
And now he's fine.
That's what I told them.
I said, bowl peanuts for the rest of the season, we're good.
Yeah.
But time kind of stopping at that two point conversion.
It was just like, that was worth the price of admission.
I know we lost, but that was a hell of a game.
It was really fun.
I'll say this, dude, overreaction, week one.
My overreaction to that game is that Auburn is really bad,
and Baylor's going to do some work in the Big 12th.
That was kind of my takeaway, because I had high expectations going in for Auburn.
Yeah.
But it's overreaction.
It's overreaction.
Byron Brown could come out next week and light it up.
I feel like they'll get the offense going a little bit.
You know who's hot right now?
Florida.
Hot right now, Minsa and Malachi Tony.
Yeah.
Miami.
That offense was humming, bro.
Still questions on the line of scrimmage.
They couldn't run the ball very well, probably as successful as they wanted to.
But my God, bro, Mensa, the vertical attack that they have, Malachi Tony.
It was fun to watch.
They were awesome.
And Malachi's awareness, dude, when they felt that quick little slant in the low red and he catches the ball and a linebacker's going to him, he just kind of boop out of the end zone back in the end zone.
He's got the sauce, bro.
This dude's awareness is incredible.
It wasn't even a juke.
It was just like a, he just went by him.
Yeah, it was nothing.
It looked like he just kept going straight,
but just decided to, real quick.
And like no stride changed anything.
And being around him in the spring,
like during spring practice,
when you got to go down to Coral Gables
and hang out in Miami and see the way he operated.
First one on the field, catching jugs.
His schedule being up at 5.30 in the morning,
doing jugs.
Catch a hundred balls.
Like that is, that kind of work ethic.
And dude, all the things he did from a stat line
is absolutely great, but there are multiple times
in the run game that he locked up a guy
that was head and shoulders taller than him
and dumped him on the ground.
Like that's the kind of effort.
Yeah, man.
And they kind of tenacity in the fire.
You want to see at a guy like Malachi Tony.
And he's hitting like, because, you know,
Mensa, he became the favorite the next day
in Heisman Oz because he threw for like a billion yards.
Yeah.
I only had three incompletions, 27 for 30.
Malachi Tony hitting the Heisman.
You got Jeremiah Smith hitting the Heisman.
A couple guys that will be in the race.
Just letting him know,
Like, hey, these skill positions, we got juice out here.
I'll tell you what, dude, Jeremiah Smith.
We just give a lot of flowers to Malachi, Tony.
That little double move he does in the first quarter.
I mean, that safety bites so hard he should have, I mean,
and just flew past him, flew past him.
He's a grown man out there, too.
Shout out Julian saying as well, like a lot of big shot on him was,
like guys are wide open all the time.
Like that he was not a wide open throw down field.
And he's getting hit as he throws it, and it's a dot.
That pisses me off, but you still got to get a full.
Lire's where they have to be, man.
Yeah.
This is what it is.
Week 1 overreaction. You have it highlighted right now.
SAC or Big 10 argument. Right now,
SEC is a large,
is what, number one?
By far by a large margin.
Has to be. People are going to be allowed all week,
but we get some good matchups
this weekend with Mississippi State
going up to Minnesota. That quarterback
is unreal for Mississippi State.
What's his name?
Camario Taylor.
Camaro.
Taylor.
He looked, like a hundred-yard pass.
Like flat-footed, going up in the line of scrimmage kind of stops.
It looks like he's just, he's square shoulder and just zips at about 60 yards down
field.
No way.
It was nuts.
But he's a stud and then you got Texas in Ohio State this weekend.
That is going to be juicy out in Austin, Texas.
Yeah.
Then you got the game of the week, yeah.
Oklahoma, Michigan in Ann Arbor.
So some good head to heads for just, you know, the internet to argue about.
It'll be fun to revisit next week to see who.
Some flowers we need to give.
Faison Brandon.
Yes, bro.
What a debut, Killing Russell as well at Alabama,
but two guys getting their first start in the SEC.
Like, those boys did not disappoint through the ball of the field.
As a Tennessee fan, you had to be sitting there feeling really good.
Yeah, I mean, FCS appointed, so you're kind of, you're being chill.
Yeah, but you want to look at it and be like,
all right, what's this quarterback we have not seen in live action?
Like, how does he handle business?
The mistakes being minimal were great.
the stat that I've been seeing floating around
first college player for first college debut
since Cam Newton to throw for three touchdowns
and run for two. That's obviously fun.
This week coming up versus Georgia Tech
will be an actual game.
So that's where I feel we'll see what he's made of.
But yeah, very exciting week one to see Faison Brin
and be able to put on the helmet and be the guy for now.
We'll see.
Not trying to overreact in the slightest.
Week one overreaction.
I'm trying to week one underreact.
Cam Newton.
Yeah.
Phazon Brown is Cam Newton
Week 1 overreaction.
Quote graphic.
Quote graphic.
Done.
Put it out there.
All right.
I have an overreaction.
Just one I want to touch on.
You mentioned Georgia Tech.
Shout out to Dion Sanders
getting a big win over Georgia Tech.
Everyone writing them off.
I got to give Dionne some love.
I think Dion Sanders gets a lot of hate,
but I love Dionne.
So shout out to Dionne Sanders.
And all the hate they get in the offseason
about how small their team looks,
but then they dominated the line of scrimmage
during that game as well.
when you thought like the edge by far goes to Georgia Tech
and running the football.
Justice Hayes, they had a bunch of big boys.
I think they were like top 20 in like size for an offensive line.
Like Georgia Tech had all the edge and Colorado, the low-key bullied them.
Yeah, and then Georgia Tech penalties again, three turnovers.
There's a little bit of a screw job with that fumble that Georgia Tech took back to the house.
But dude, Dion having Colorado ready to go and coming out on top of that game
when it seemed like it was, people were heavy on Georgia Tech
because that line was at like six and a half.
I was.
Dude, won that, oh, Ole Miss, bro.
Did South Dakota State win?
Or did they cover?
Idaho State, Idaho State.
No, South Dakota State as well.
South Dakota State did not cover.
Idaho State not only covered, but they won outright.
That was his judgment game.
That was his judgment game.
Oh, South Dakota State.
With you guys?
We were like, yeah, when we were on the bus,
like we're gonna know how much ball
Cody really knows based on South Dakota.
That one was a backdoor cover.
It was a touchdown game going into the last, I think, 90 seconds.
Northwestern scores another one late.
Louisville Ole Miss.
But yeah, shout out to Idaho State.
Shout out to Idaho State, man.
Idaho State getting it done, man.
Yeah, I was fired up about it.
He kept showing me how the old Idaho State bagels were doing.
The home that Charlie Regal built, dude.
And then, oh, man, last night I'm sitting there in Ole Miss being up a smooth 14.
and losing the entire
blowing the cover.
Losing the blow in the cover.
God.
Come on, fellas.
Oh, Lord.
It makes his game so beautiful,
it is what makes the game beautiful.
All right, boys.
We feel good.
College football recap in the books.
First one of the year.
Let's get a round of applause for that, huh?
Yes, sir.
We will be back in the college football atmosphere.
Wednesday evening when we do the locker room with Josh Pade.
We're talking big games.
We'll dive into Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas, Ohio State.
Several others.
Several others.
I believe we have six on the slate.
tap into that. Bustin with the boys will drop tomorrow.
We have our Hall of Fame slate, the new Hall of Fame class and roster.
We sat down and talked to Luke Keekley, Fitzgerald, Venetary, Drew Brees.
Those will all drop tomorrow.
But we're on all week long.
