But you look back at Michigan. to bring them back to them three years ago. They lost the first round of the playoffs. The next year they lost to the end of the first round,

But I can see this game going, Texas win 27-24. Like the Chiefs' offense hasn't been like that explosive throughout the entire year. Like, they don't average that many points. But you guys know I'm a hater of the Chiefs I like the Texans with the points Because I think they can keep it close But you can also see like a field goal game here to when they win like 27 24 I can see that happen I can see that yeah I think when it comes to the chiefs like last year when they when I was going to the playoffs everyone's like chiefs kind of fizzled out their office is not as great their defense is playing better than their offense has then they get into the playoffs and they just understand that time of year

better than any other team I think that I think I like I'm going with you guys with texans plus eight and a half but this is my home's time like this is this is a team you don't have to worry about having a buy week how they understand the process they're very to having an extra week watching other teams play. They're going to be the most comfortable in the same than any other team in the NFL landscape right now. Last time they played too, I'm sure CJ Stroud feels some type of way about it because everyone kind of walked away from that game being like, wow, Houston sucks.

And they lost the game by eight. I think they come in, they have a little more firepower behind them. But I think that defense stands up. We talked about Houston and the Chargers before. And last week, Chargers lost that game more than Houston won it. Like, Houston's defense played really well. But, like, the offense was, like, not, like, spectacular by any means. They just took advantage of that.

They hung around long enough. From the Chargers' offense. They started to get it going. With Nico, Joe Mixing came alive. Came alive. Yeah. DeNico, Autry, he needs a special shoutout. They had a couple of highlights of this guy.

He had, he beats guys with power. He's got that length. He's got the leverage. He's a guy that has been sneaky, good, sneaky. Like, you got to worry about this guy. Every year he's been in the NFL. Dude that, I wasn't drafted out or maybe not drafted at all. And it's worked his way into, you know,

having some good checks and playing. playing on multiple teams and doing really well, had the opportunity to play with him at the Titans for a little bit. I like the Texans. I think this game is competitive, but if you're thinking about the script, if you're thinking about the refs throwing the flags, like this is not where the Chief's lives, they end.

It's going to have to be in an AFC championship game, or most likely at the Super Bowls when they really go away, when the story kind of ends. You had a team going after a three-peat. I like the Texans plus eight and a half. Hopefully they keep it that close. Yeah, it's going to be a defensive game. I feel like both defenses are firing on all cylinders.

I think it might be Chiefs. Chiefs what? To cover. Because of all three of us? I know. That's the only thing. Like the Houston, Texas offense, their offensive lines is one of the more penalized offensive lines in the game.

Like, again, going out to Kansas City in a playoff game and that type of environment. You can't, you've got to be able to start fast. And the defense of the Chiefs has is a very good defense. Right. And look at the, like, just the game plan revolved around the Chiefs. Keep their offense off of the field. Get yourself to third and manageable situations. Contain Patrick Mahomes from a pocket standpoint.

And make them earn every single yard. Like, don't let them take shots down field. Stack the box when they got their certain personnel's and their formations. It's going to be a difficult game for the Texans. A game that I think they match up well in from a defensive standpoint. I just think when you have Houston's offense versus the Chief's defense with Spags in the back calling, like he's understanding. They're a championship caliber team.

Strau was the most second most sack quarterback being set 52 times. And the Texans have only one, have one win against a team with a winning record at the end of the 2024 season. Yeah.

To me, it comes down to the lines have done a better job, taking the ball away. And the Lions, to me, if you look at every position group, the better in every category, the argument would be quarterback. They've kind of cycled through, revolving to it, whether it be injuries or guys just got to get the hell out of there. This time of year, when you're in those close games, you need a kicker that you can trot out there and feel very comfortable with.

They don't have that right now. And I know it seems like very small, but like those three points are matter every single time. If you have the opportunity to get on the field and walk away with points, whether it be three or six, like that is so incredibly important in the, commanders don't have a guy that they feel comfortable with. I mean, I don't know who the kicker is.

What's the kicker's name? What's that? Zan Gonzalez. And he's got the, he's got the OCD, right? Like, he's got the wipe in, he's taking his shoes off, all that. Like, could you imagine a hurricane situation where he's, where he can't do all of those things? And they're rushing the offense off the field and getting the field goal team on. That's very, I don't have OCD, but I'm assuming like you've got to do your shit to feel comfortable about. He's going to be. Just countering that a little bit. Both of these offenses, their success rate on drives is over 50% on putting points on the board. Yeah, that's awesome. But they're going into the Lions den, like this is about to be. I know. I just think with Ben Johnson probably leaving, Aaron Glenn probably leaving both for head coaching jobs.

Like this is the year where it's all in for Detroit. This is it. Like Washington's building all this. They're excited for the future. They got a big playoff winning against a bucks last week. Like the passing offense is what kept them in the game, along with their defense, getting nine sacks. But a couple of little stats out there for you. Stafford is two and four in January and one and six in the rain. There's some winter, mix, snow, rain that's going to be happening in Philly. It's going to be cold.

I like Philly because this is the number one pass defense in the league. They got sacks everywhere across the board in their entire front seven. Like Dean and Bonn can get after your ass up the middle. And they fly all around making plays everywhere. They got a great back end. I think the pass offense gets shut down, which is what's going to. That's what we keep the Rams in the game. I like the Eagles a lot because, again, this isn't, you know,

the Vikings' offensive line was banged up. Oh, boy, their left tackle went down. A right tackle goes down mid-game. O'Neill. Yeah, they kind of have some issues during the game. Like the Eagles have a hell of an offensive line. They're smart. They're athletic.

46. I think it's Ohio State. I saw this spicy video by Marcus Freeman at halftime. Talked about the seven-point game. Like he was just feeding the boys some wisdom. That got me a little lit up and like, hey, Notre Dame might be able to pull this off, but I don't want to overthink it.

Ohio State is they're much more talented. They're going to be challenging the run game against Notre Dame, but I think they're up for the task. But Love's got that right knee brace. Still didn't stop him from hurtling a guy and losing two yards on a rush, but like still. I think Jack Sawyer's going to get crazy.

He's going to go nuts. Make a big play. He's going to go nuts. I like Ohio State to win the national title. Mine is a same half. I like him to cover. I mean, it's just, it's a tough one. You got, with Notre Dame ain't won once since Lou Holtz

and since 1988 88, I want to say, won the national title. And then Ohio State, what? They ain't won one since 2014. or something like that or 2004. I mean, God damn, this is just tough. I feel like both teams are hungry. Both teams want it. And it's hard to go against a former player

who played the game at a high level. Obviously, we know he went to Ohio State. Notre Dame head coach went to Ohio State, coached at Purdue. Now he's the head coach for Notre Dame. Yeah, what a moment. What a moment. What a moment.

The player. Coach in his daddy against the team you played for. It's like, damn. I want to root for Notre Dame so bad. You know how I've been rooting for Notre Dame this whole time. But damn, Ohio State. They're so good. They're so good.

They're so good. They're so good on both sides of the ball. And they have like their entire defense could go to the NFL. Yeah, right now. Their best players are freshmen. Will Howard slinging the ball around pretty well. There's like the side by side too, the recruits that they have. Like Ohio State has like 10, five stars on the team than Notre Dame zero.

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's definitely, you look at the talent discrepancy. It's very, very one-sided towards Ohio State. I love Marcus Freeman. I love the fact that he went to Ohio State. I saw a really cool story with him sitting down with, is it Jim Tressel? That's the old Ohio State coach.

He was sitting down with Jim Tressel and he was telling a story about him being at Ohio State knowing that his career was probably over. It was probably like, wasn't good enough to go to the NFL and he really wanted to get to coaching. So he approached Jim Tressel about being a GA and just going about it. Literally after that conversation, he gets a call from the Indianapolis Colts. He said, hey, hey, come down. We're going to sign you to practice while.

we're going to see how it works out for you so he gets in his car he drives four or five hours from columbus ohio down to indianapolis meets with them does a physical and before he leaves for that drive he calls uh trestle who's a fantastic coach by the way whether i like Ohio state or not he was a fantastic coach and he says listen you can you can you can't coaching will always be here for you'll always have a job here he goes down to Indianapolis he gets he does the workout starts to get his physical done and they find this uh this thing in his heart like a enlarged artery in his heart i'm not even i don't I'm not saying that correctly. Essentially, they sit them down and say,

we're not able to sign you because of this, and all 31 other teams are not going to be able to sign you either. So he knew right then and there. He gets back in his car, starts driving up to Columbus. And he talks about the story, and he's like, I'm literally smiling to myself.

Because even though this small little opportunity seemed like it presented itself, it was always coaching. And I always want to stay in the game. And I love Mark Stream. I love his halftime speech. And the world kind of laid it out for me. Yeah, like he referred to it as a God thing.

Like this was basically God telling me I am supposed to be coaching. I hate the fact that Ohio State's going to win this game. I hate the fact that Ohio State's going to cover this game. I'm going Notre Dame just because of that. I mean, I know it looks like, I would be excited to see Notre Dame. I would love it. And it really is.

To me, when I was in the Big Ten, Notre Dame was so involved with Big Ten teams that I view Notre Dame as a Big Ten. This is a Big Ten national championship. Now, since then they've kind of played more ACC games. you kind of go back to 2012 and when the SEC was relevant

Notre Dame played in the national championship game against the Crimson Tide and they lost the game 42 to 14 they had great leadership, they had a lot of talent in that team, it just didn't work out for them. I want it to be competitive I just think when you see the fire that's been lit under Ohio State's ass and what they've been able to do

and just when you see my Texas might come back and do it there's that strip sack, fumble by Sawyer for the touchdown. on, it's, it's tough to say they're not going to win it. It's tough to say they're not going to win it and they're not going to cover. I'm just going to do that. I know that Ohio Sego, I'm going to take Notre Dame to cover. How cool is that story? It was good.

Yeah. That's a good story. I like, I saw that as I was literally driving in. I like had it and I was kind of just like listening to it. You don't think he's playing that right now for the team? No, I don't. I think Marcus Freeman is not making it about himself. Guys, you guys, you guys want to believe, watch me for a second.

I know you grew up a huge Notre Dame fan. Want it for Shane. Want it for the people that, you know, and South Bend who treat us like, like we played there when we go in, but it's tough to say it. Wanted for college football tradition. Yeah.

And just to add to this too, it's like, do what? Wanting. Yeah, college football. Like, Notre Dame win the national title. Yeah. You want it for.

Yeah. see like this come back around. And to add off that, too, like how just, you know he's such a good dude that the players love to play for because the moment that he got announced when the, not Chip Kelly, Brian Kelly left. Like, they were all ecstatic. Like, who Ron in the gym, the strength coach had him up, they announced that he was going to be it and everybody rallied around him.

Like, you know this is a dude that they love to play for, that they would die for. Yeah, that's cool. That's cool. I love it. JP, you ask something? The storyline nobody is talking about is, is looking about. is Lou Holtz. Lou Holtz has been chirping Ryan Day since day one.

Really? And yesterday he came at him with this one. He said, if Notre Dame doesn't win, it's because we want to preserve Ryan Day's job. I was originally going to be at the game in spirit, but now I'll be dragging my body along as well. Dave. Holtz has been chirping him, bro.

And it is, in Ryan Day, you remember when he lost his mind after they beat them, like a couple years ago? Lou Holtz is living rent-free in his head and Lou Holtz. He was born in 1937. The last time Notre Dame beat Ohio State was in 1936. In his lifetime, he's never seen Notre Dame beat Ohio State.
