Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jeanne Haley.
I'm really looking forward to today's episode because I not only feel like it is so needed for
everyone, but it's the perfect time for summer and just really trying to reconnect with herself.
And there's no better time to use this time of summer wisely to provide herself, show up for
ourself and love ourselves. This week I've been taking more steps to actually being able to pinpoint
my health issues that I've been having. Like I said, I really do feel like I have PCOS or some
sort of hormonal imbalance because I really do check every symptom and I feel like I'm not sure
if it's from my eating disorder in the past or this has just occurred. But I'm really looking forward
to sharing my journey with you guys because lots of you guys said how you've had the same things
happen to you or things that help you manage your symptoms. I just love how it's finally summer.
It's officially summer according to the date and it's truly starting to feel like summer now that
the weather's warming up. This year I'm really wanting to enjoy my summer and live it out to the fullest.
So I'm very excited and I know you guys are as well. So if you listen to my last week's episode,
I loved hearing what you guys also are doing this summer. A lot of you guys tagged me in videos as
well as tag me your stories.
And it just is so cute seeing you guys walk or do little summer activities while listening to
the podcast.
Another thing I've done this week is try to recognize what I'd like to spend and put more
time towards.
We sometimes put time towards things that will give us satisfaction in the moment rather
than long time satisfaction, such as scrolling for a long time on TikTok.
And we look back and wish that we didn't use that time just scrolling on TikTok or
scrolling on social media and really wish we use that time wisely doing real life things such as
going on a walk doing a pottery class hanging out with friends going to brunch so i just really think
mindfulness has been something that's really important to me and lastly this week i'm really just
trying to think of how i'd like to spend my summer if i want to go on a solo vacation and just really
acknowledging that i want to really enjoy my summer and live it to the way that i want to live it
Moving on to my current obsessions.
My current obsession right now is blueberry muffins, gluten-free, of course.
Blueberry muffins are literally my favorite.
I've always loved them.
I don't know why, but they are literally my favorite ever,
and I had my first ever gluten-free blueberry muffin the other day,
and let me just say, I instantly fell in love
and will be finding good gluten-free blueberry muffin recipes to make all during summer.
I just really want to have little muffins and cookies and things out for when like guests come over and everything.
I just love being a hostess, guys.
I love hosting things.
One day I just want to have a cute little girls' night dinner party.
You guys need to be there, of course.
And I just love being a hostess.
I went off on a tangent there.
But my next current obsession is my blue light glasses.
I have a few different blue light glasses that I love.
I have one from the brand Quay.
It's Q-U-A-Y.
I think that's how it's pronounced.
And I also love the ones from I Buy Direct.
Those are my favorite.
And I just wear them all throughout the day because I'm on my phone all day long.
And it really does help my eyes not feel so strained when I'm going to bed.
Another cram session is getting in exercise.
I feel like I did not prioritize it the best as I'd like to the past few months.
And I'm really excited to get back on my exercise journey.
I love exercising.
When you really do want something, you have time for it.
Do not say you don't have time for something.
If it means enough to you, you will prioritize it a part of your routine.
It is something that I really do want to start incorporating into my life.
Another current obsession is at Pinterest.
I finally got my Pinterest back.
Thank gosh.
But the saddest thing is I've had a few boards that I've used forever.
It was like one board that had a million different topics on it.
And somehow it all got deleted.
So I'm just heartbroken and trying to rebuild it since I've been building that board for years.
But you know, it's okay.
It's a new fresh start.
But I've been loving just scrolling on Pinterest.
It gives me the best motivation and inspiration.
And lastly, my current obsession is wearing a swimsuit 24-7.
The minute I wake up, a swimsuit is on because I feel that summer breeze.
I'm just wearing it all day long and it feels so nice.
I'm feeling so sun-kissed.
Moving on to a goal of the week.
So my goal of the week is to sunbathe and take advantage of this nice, warm, relaxing weather.
Another goal of the week is to get my blood tested.
I actually have my first appointment to speak with a doctor regarding my symptoms.
And like I said, I'm bringing you guys along with the journey.
Looking forward to getting that done, I have the biggest fear of needles.
So fingers crossed, I don't faint.
I want to let you guys know this funny story.
I don't think I've ever shared it before, but a few years back, I was getting a shot and it was taken place in the Target dressing rooms.
Don't ask me why it's so weird, but anyways, I got a shot in my arm in the Target dressing room, and I actually had worn six inch, six inch heels, a huge platform heel with a blonde wig that day.
And I got the shot in my arm.
I fainted on the floor with my six-inch huge platform heels and my wig just splattered all over the floor like coming off of my head.
And they went and got frozen food from the aisles down as an ice pack for me.
I still cannot comprehend this story.
I just laughed so hard thinking of my blonde wig all over the floor with my shoes and me sprawled out all fainted and them coming to go give me an ice pack from the freezer section.
But if that doesn't tell you how afraid I am of needles and afraid I am of fainting because of the needles, hopefully you understand a bit more now.
Another goal to week is to continue guashing more often.
I literally love guashing and just skincare devices.
I feel like this isn't a device.
This is like a stone.
But I just love it so, so much.
And I also started trying a new device called Solo Wave, which is a red light therapy wand.
And so far, I love it.
Skincare truly excites me so much and it just makes me so happy.
My last goal of the week is to find a good tea recipe.
I really want to start drinking tea by the pool and I really want to have a nice cold brew tea
just to keep in my fridge to have every day.
So I really want to start finding a tea that I love and find a good recipe for that.
Moving on to a daily affirmation.
I am who I aspired to be.
I love that affirmation so much and I really recommend journaling that in your journal.
Moving on to a self-love question to ask yourself,
Who brings the best out of me?
I love that question so much and really think about that
and think who does bring the best out of me
and make me the best person and make me feel the happiest.
Moving on to a challenge of the week.
The challenge of the week is,
be kinder to yourself.
Very simple, yet has so much behind
that little simple words,
be kinder to yourself.
Really think about that
and actually take action into doing that.
and we'll talk about all today how you can be kinder to yourself and what that means to you.

There is no rules or requirements to be pretty or to be perfect or to be beautiful.
We are all beautiful in our own ways.
Imagine how boring it would be if we all look the same.
That would be very boring and you would want to look different.
I am so grateful that you recognize how beautiful.
you are and I completely understand how you're feeling since I was a dancer. I got really
muskly when I was younger. I learned to love myself and it just makes me so beyond proud to hear
that you are on the same journey to loving yourself. And also recognize how beautiful your body is
waking up, being able to take you places, being able to get up in the morning, be able to walk
to your favorite coffee shops, being able to provide for yourself. Your body is literally just the
outer protection of your beautiful soul. So love your body for
protecting your organs for protecting your heart and everything inside you.
Cherish it and I'm just so proud of you.
Without further ado, let's get into today's episode.
Today's episode is on be kinder to yourself.
We need to be kinder to ourself.
We have no reason to hate herself, to be rude to ourself, or to tear ourselves down.
This episode, I hope you really do listen to everything I say and really take it to heart.
Some things may sound cliche, but you have to realize quotes, words, and phrases
that may sound cliche, maybe because you hear them all the time, are popular for a reason.
You just may be looking past it because it's a simple quote or a simple phrase,
when really there is so much meaning behind it.
So I really encourage you to be mindful of this episode and really think,
how am I going to be kinder to myself?
Something that is just so important is to realize that hustle culture has taught us that
being go-go-go-go means being productive, and that will make a success.
Don't get me wrong, that definitely can make you successful. But if you are constantly working and going and going and going, this is what society fails to mention, is that that causes burnout and you will get loss of inspiration, loss of motivation, loss of motivation, and low mental health when you are constantly pushing yourself to achieve everything, to keep hustling, and to not take time to love yourself. If you want to become the highest version of yourself, accomplish all your
dreams and goals and truly live a good life you have to be kind to yourself i spend so much time on
my wellness routines as you guys know i love my hair care my skin care but i began to overlook my
oral care which is so important we care for our mouth in the morning and at night but we forget
about the 16 hours in between that time throughout the day where bacteria and plaque builds up

In order for you to even have your dream life, being kind and providing love for yourself is the bare minimum essential.
You can be the most financially stable and richest person alive.
And if you are not filling yourself with kind and lovelness and being truly kind to yourself, you will be unhappy.
Another thing is that if we don't like something about ourselves, we tend to just shame ourselves and hate ourselves in order for us to use that as motivation to fix that and change that.
For instance, if you are not working the job you like, you'll constantly be shaming yourself saying you're worthless, you don't have a good job, you could be working at this job, but you're not, you're worthless, in hopes that that will be used as motivation to getting that dream job that you're wanting.
Or maybe you look in the mirror and you see a reflection that you don't like looking at and you wish you
look different or had a different body.
So you begin to shame yourself and hoping to use that as motivation to changing your body and looking better.
Do you want to remain in the destructive cycle of beating yourself up in order to use that as motivation to accomplish something or to improve something in your life?
What a sad life to be constantly shaming and beating ourselves up in order to be.
fix something. If you want to improve something in your life, do it in a positive way. Think about how many
times that you've hated something about you or your life so you've tried shaming yourself into trying
to fix it and it resulted in actually never being improved. You spent all that time
shaming yourself for no reason. When you could have achieved what you were wanting and improved
that part of your life by being caring and kind to yourself and motivating yourself to in a positive
way. Take a step back and realize that you only live once. The point of life is to achieve infinite
happiness and to experience life happily and experience life in a joyful point of view. Your dream job
may make you happy or your car may make you happy or maybe having a ton of money may make you happy,
having a boyfriend, friends, or even having a designer purse may make you happy. But will it actually
cure you or bring you infinite happiness? No, it won't. We tend to want to achieve all these
certain things, get certain items, but really those items and those careers or those dream cars
will not result in happiness for you. Yes, it may bring you some joy and temporary happiness,
but that will not fix something that is inside of you. It truly comes from within and being kind
to yourself. Someone may have a really hard financial life and may not have everything they need and
they're really living off barely anything, no friends, no nothing, but they could be the happiest
person alive because they're being rich and feeling rich in so many aspects and taking care
and being kind to themselves. You can have every material item or your dream job or anything,
but that won't change the way you're going to be kind to yourself. You can't have the mindset of
once I have my dream job, I'll be happy. Or once I have my dream car, I'll be happy.
Because that will only bring you temporary happiness. And infinite happiness comes from within.
You're going to spend all this time waiting to achieve what you're wanting or to improve a certain
aspect in your life, waiting for that thing to happen and say, okay, now I can finally be happy.
You being happy is not determined on what you achieve and what you get.
In order to be happy, it all comes from the way you're kind of.
to yourself in the way you treat yourself. Drill that in your head that you only live once.
Do you want to make this life the life that you've always dreamed of? The worst thing you could
ever experience is regret. Do you want to be dying and wondering, what if I had just tried? What if I
had just tried and see what would have happened? You don't want to regret anything in your life.
Start living life without shame taking risk, well, calculated risk to clarify. But,
Take action regardless of any potential embarrassment or outcome you may have.
It is so rude and unkind to yourself to hold yourself back
and not proceed with something that will make you happy
because you're worried what other people will think.
You're valuing other people more than valuing what your own self thinks.
This is your life.
This is not their life.
This is your own life.
Begin to be gentle with your soul and your heart.
As I was saying, we tend to hate parts of our lives and try to shame ourselves into putting work to change it,
but instead put in the action in work without having to stem from hatred.
If there's an aspect in your life that you want to improve or something about yourself that you want to improve,
replace any of that hatred that you have towards that part of your life or yourself and replace it with love.
Love and value yourself so much that you put in that action.
But when you begin to take action or begin to really work hard towards this goal, it's easy to get lost in working hard and forget to take care of herself.
When your body and your mind is truly starting to feel burnt out, allow yourself to rest.
But it's even better if you try not to even get to that point of feeling burnt out or needing craving rest by initially starting to incorporate rest and relaxation and self-care into your life.
don't wait till it gets so bad and hits your lowest point in order to finally fix something.
Don't wait until you're completely burnt out and tired until you finally take time to get more hours of sleep
or to take more time to see your friends.
Begin incorporating those self-care activities and being kind to yourself now in order to upkeep and continue that motivated mindset.
Or maybe you feel that you don't work as hard or don't work enough or you procrastinate.
So you're beating yourself up and just wishing so bad that you were motivated but you can't and you're so lazy or you're not a good worker.
Take a second to acknowledge all you've done.
Start being easier on yourself.
Beating yourself up will only halt your progress.
Regardless of where you are in life, stop using hatred as motivation.
You need to begin doing things out of wanting to be kind to yourself.

happiest elements and begin to take time to channel what actually brings you overall peace, love and happiness.
That could be maybe a one hour long skincare routine, cooking with your best friends, watching TV all
week and long, getting ice cream, talking to your mom. Once you're mindful of those things that
truly bring you happiness, begin incorporating those things because that is one of the truest forms

than trying to use negativity to try to fuel you to be motivated and to achieve things.
Stop using motivation as fuel.
Start using kindness to fuel yourself.
I promise you that will bring you so much further down the line of being able to achieve
pure infinite happiness and to achieve any goal, lifestyle, or anything you're going to achieve.
