Starting point is 00:00:09 Hello, my love. Welcome to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you were new, welcome. We talk all about becoming the best version of you and ultimately how to just enjoy your life and self-care, working towards your goals, and honestly striving for happiness because that is what life is all about. Today's episode is how to become satisfied with what's right in front of you and loving every stage of life because it is just human nature and our natural instinct to jump ahead and always want the next thing or something better than what we have right in front of us in our life, who we are, everything. And while we do and we should strive for our goals and our dreams, we also need to learn how to enjoy every process of our life and be satisfied and happy and content with what we have so far in our life because sometimes
Starting point is 00:01:05 what we have in our life is what we need the most and it can just be really difficult to love your situation and to love what stage you're in when you feel like you hate it and you just feel like your life is falling apart or you have nothing going right for you. So we're going to talk about that today on how to become satisfied with what's right in front of you and just how to be more content and happy with your life along with how to love every stage of life that you're in. But before we get into today's episode, let's do our weekly review. This week, I have just been working hard on both my career and personal goals. I feel like I'm really just trying to prioritize my personal goals just as much or more as my career goals because when you work,
Starting point is 00:01:51 when you work on yourself and put time and effort into your personal life, that's where you're going to see other aspects of your life, such as your career or your like relationships with your family, your friends, show up even better because you've invested that time in yourself. So it just is really important to take that time for yourself. And another thing this week is I had a massage in Sonda's solo date. Really been trying to take myself on more solo dates. I even took myself on one today. I went to like a little food convention. It was really fun. But I did that today with myself. Didn't need anyone else. Did it alone. And the other day I had booked a massage appointment in a sauna session, so that was so nice and well needed. Also, I feel like just a dream day for me,
Starting point is 00:02:38 just to have my back massaged all day long. I feel like when you're a stressed or tense person, you don't realize how much you need a massage until you have one. Sometimes I'm like so desperately needing one. I'll literally just like try massaging my back a while I'm at my desk. I'm like, this is not working very well, but it's worth a shot. And another thing this week, is I've been waking up every single day at 4.30 and 5 a.m. I love waking early. There's something about just waking early in the summertime, especially. That feels so nice to see the sun is like rising and it's mostly even already rose, but it's like the sun is rising and I just love feeling like the city is asleep, but I'm awake. I don't know. I love it. And I also love that as like my me time in the morning.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Now on to my current obsessions. My current obsession right now is, is we were liars. Tell me how, so I started that show a few days ago. And I think I finished it in three days. But I kid you not, that show, I started it and I was like, okay, I'm not going to like it this much. It's definitely not going to be as good as the summer I turned pretty. And I feel like that show is a mix of the summer I turned pretty and White Lotus together. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:03:55 I just feel like that's the perfect way to describe it. But I was not expecting to love the show as much as I did. If you need a good summer show to watch, I beg you to watch We Were Liars blindly. Like, don't search it up. Don't look into it. Just watch it as it is. And I'm telling you, you're going to be in shock. It's seriously such a good summer show.
Starting point is 00:04:17 But anyways, another current obsession right now is a live tinted SPF sunscreen. Been loving that sunscreen. I feel like it's really nice with acne-safe skin as I've noticed using it for the past few months. I love it and it just goes on so nicely. And lastly, my current obsession at the moment is my dinner that I've been so obsessed with. It's chicken or fish, so chicken or fish or tofu. I'll swap out the proteins. But always with cooked celery, cooked carrots, and cooked zucchini.
Starting point is 00:04:51 That little vegetable dish, like that little like vegetable salad mix is essential and the best to make a meal taste good. like zucchini, celery, carrots. It just tastes like Thanksgiving almost. I love it. Now on to the goal of the week. My goal of the week right now is to swim four times a week. I feel like I want to get out there more. By meaning get out there. I mean actually get out and touch some grass, go outside, get the sun on me. And for me, I just feel like swimming four times a week is a good goal. I feel like it really just feels like summer when I go to the beach or just when I go in the pool. so I definitely want to just stay consistent with that goal.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Another goal that week right now is to do 10,000 steps a day. I feel like this is something I was really good at like two years ago, but I'm starting to pick back up doing that again because one, it makes me feel good. Two, it makes me be more active and I just feel like it's nice. And three, it also just is a simple goal that you can like lock in. You can walk around your house. For me, I'll go back and forth. in my apartment and I'll like whenever I need to work on my phone or something instead of just sitting
Starting point is 00:06:05 the whole time and being on my phone or even if you're going to scroll on TikTok like just you know try walking a bit and doing it. It feels nice afterwards and it also makes you I realize more ready to fall asleep. I feel like when I get more exercise throughout the day it makes it easier to fall asleep at night and I just get more like you know drained of energy faster. So I honestly have been liking that for my sleep as well. And my last goal of the week right now is to finish the book I'm reading. I started this book a few days ago. It's people we meet on vacation. Love it so far. But this summer, I'm trying to make it a goal to read six books this summer. But I think I'm actually going to surpass that. I'm hoping to aim for like 10 this summer just because I'm in a really big like reading
Starting point is 00:06:53 kick. And it's a really nice way to spend your time, especially not like scrolling. Now into your self-love question of the week. What can I do to allow myself to detach from present stress? I love that question so much because sometimes we're just so built in anxiety and stress and it's important to have those tools and know what can I do to allow myself to not feel so stressed out. So when I'm feeling stressed out or overwhelmed, what can I do to detach? And make this also something that isn't necessarily on your phone because sometimes we get anxiety or we get nervous or anxious or overwhelmed and then we reach for our phone or TikTok or something to scroll on. So try to find something that you can do that isn't necessarily just reaching to your phone
Starting point is 00:07:40 that isn't just like numbing that feeling of being overwhelmed and stress, but also helping it and benefiting it where it's going to make the next time easier. Now onto your affirmation of the week. I am content and happy with this very moment. I love that so much, because like I said, time can just go over us so quickly and it helps us keep us in check to see what are we most grateful for that is in our everyday life. Now on to your challenge of the week. Be okay with not being okay. I love that challenge so much because, let's be honest, every day or every other day
Starting point is 00:08:19 we'll feel some sort of, you know, unhappiness or sadness, or we feel anxious or we don't feel okay and that's what's important to realize it's okay to not be okay or to not feel okay because we have to sometimes learn with being uncomfortable and being in tune with ourself is good but sometimes we aren't doing well or we aren't feeling our best and this being a challenge is I want you to think so when something's going wrong and you don't feel okay is that you don't have to necessarily figure something out at that moment to make it perfect if let's say you drop and shatter something, you don't have to instantly go online and try to find it to buy it again. You can think, okay, you know what?
Starting point is 00:09:03 That is sad. It broke. But let me get to that later. And I'm okay. I can move on right now. And I feel like having the mindset of being able to move on when something messes up or let's say you get so overwhelmed where you're like, I can't do any of my work right now. Learn, okay, you know, I'm going to take a break from my work and go do occupy myself with something
Starting point is 00:09:22 I love, something else. and I can come back to that later. It's a perfect thing you need to recharge and refuel to try again later. Now on to the podcast review. If you want to be featured on next week's episode, make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts and leave a five-star rating over Spotify. This review is from Ajaya and she said,
Starting point is 00:09:43 Hi, Jaden, this was the very first podcast I ever listened to when I was starting to work on myself and be the best version I could be. And I can already say that I've grown so much. I really couldn't have done it if it wasn't for you. Thank you for your podcast. They make me so excited to get up and live my best life every day. Ajaya, thank you so much for your kind review and I am just so unbelievably grateful for you and I'm so glad to hear. It just makes me so happy when I hear that it really has helped you with the show. So I am just so beyond grateful. Without further ado, it is time to get into today's episode. So how to become satisfied with what's right in front of you.
Starting point is 00:10:23 you and how to love every stage of your life. This is something that I feel like is not talked about enough because we think, oh, live in the present moment, yes, and enjoy and be grateful for what you have, yes. But sometimes we go throughout life and we go throughout struggles in our life or just phases that we absolutely despise and hate. Let me remind you, if you do not like something about yourself that is in your life for who you are, something about yourself, it's okay to dislike something. Same with something going on in your life. If you do not like how you're treating other people and you just think, oh, I've been so
Starting point is 00:11:04 impatient, I rude with people, it's okay for you to not like that. Or if you think, gosh, I hate my job. I hate having to go into office every day. It's the worst job. I'm always unhappy there. Again, it is okay for you not to like it. While I say love every stage of your life, does not take away your valid feelings. Because sometimes we don't like something in our life, such as maybe you haven't been as nice to people as you meant to be, or you just don't like your job. And those things, not liking them, is the passion behind you changing it. Sometimes we have to not like something to be able to change it in our life. When you don't like something enough, most likely you're going to get up and change it because you don't want to have to live with that again.
Starting point is 00:11:51 But sometimes, unfortunately, when it comes to financial issues or when it comes to just our life being busy or just not having the opportunity to, we can't change everything in the drop of a hat. Sometimes you can't get a new job within a day. Or sometimes you can't, you know, drop what you're doing and travel the world because we have life. We have real life problems. We have things we have to attend to. We have a family we have to uphold. We have grades. we have to turn in our assignments.
Starting point is 00:12:22 We have lots of things in our life that we can't just drop and go. So I want you to know it's understandable. When you see people online saying quit your job and go do what your heart desires, yes, as much as that's great and that can work for a lot of people. And I definitely say take risk and do things like that because it will pay off. I do think that's where some reality comes in being like, you know what, maybe I shouldn't drop my job and my income when I'm in the negative right now and absolutely travel because I'm going to be in debt. There's things that, you know, you have to like work through in your
Starting point is 00:12:58 mind to think, is this realistic? Can I actually do this right now? And that's where goal setting comes in. And that's where wanting a change comes in. But the thing is, like I said, you can't change everything at the drop of the hat sometimes. That's where you need to love where you're at every stage of your life. Hating something, hating your life, hating the person you are, hating things about yourself is not going to do anything, but dig your whole deeper. You're going to still feel hate and hate and hate. If you want something to change, you have to love yourself out of the dark. You have to love yourself out of that situation. Do things out of love. That's when I say work out, don't work out because you hate your body. Work out because you want to feel that amazing feeling
Starting point is 00:13:38 of feeling good. I feel like a lot of people, especially my too. I get this a lot feeling and many people do. But we sometimes often experience such a panic when we want something right then and now and the thought of, oh my gosh, I can't have that right now is what makes you have so much anxiety and panic and that's normal to feel that because when you want something and you hate your situation so bad, all you want to do is escape from it and to run to something new. I feel like this mindset can kind of rub people the wrong way. But in my mind, I feel like it can help a lot of people and spark gratitude for them. But I believe that when you take a look at your life and you think, okay, look at what I have right now. You know, maybe you hate your
Starting point is 00:14:24 life. Maybe you hate who you are. Think of your life worse than it is. And you think, oh, nothing can get worse than this. Let me tell you something. Somebody there out there in the world has it a million times worse than you. Your feelings are valid for what you hate in your life and what you hate about your life, but somebody has it worse from you and I guarantee you. You would rather be in your position than somebody else is.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Somebody always has it worse. As much as it feels like you are living the worst life you're not. You, I'm assuming, if you're listening to this, since you have access to a phone, some people don't have phones. They can't call for, help when they need something. They cannot access help when they need it right away. Some people are homeless. Some people have no family. Some people have, if I listen to a million different things,
Starting point is 00:15:18 you may think, oh, I have that. I have no family actually. I'm, I'm, my family doesn't talk to me. But you know what? You have a roof over your head. There's things that we all have in our life that weighs on us. There's things that we know that we experience. You may experience, but your friend doesn't. But guess what? Your friend experiences something different. You may feel like you hate your life and your life is falling to shambles because you're rejected from a school that you've been wanting to go to your entire life.
Starting point is 00:15:50 But your friend, who you're thinking, gosh, if she only knew how I felt, if you only knew that her mom was dying from cancer. Like, you have to realize we're all going through our own struggles. We all have something going on in our life, whether we're going on. we display it and portray it to the open, to the public eye or to our family and friends, a lot of us want to internalize it because we think, oh, nobody's going to understand. Let me remind you, we're all going through something. So your problem, what you feel right now, somebody else is going through and somebody has it
Starting point is 00:16:25 worse. So as much as we think, gosh, there's nothing can get worse than this, it can. Sometimes I think my life is going to absolute pieces and then all of a sudden I'll watch a movie or I'll see someone talk about a certain tragedy that happened in their life. And it instantly gets me a check. I'm like, oh my gosh. The fact that I was complaining, which it's okay to complain, your feelings are totally valid for whenever you want to complain about something in your life.
Starting point is 00:16:52 But the thought that I was ever even thinking, my life was bad compared to what I just heard or watched. Like, you don't realize what there is out there. your world may be corrupting and be the worst in your own bubble because that's your own bubble that's all you know because you're the only one experiencing your own life so maybe this is the worst that you've ever experienced but what you're feeling right now if you added five more necessities of your life that you love were taken away from you that would be worse than your situation right now so sometimes after we reflect and think oh my gosh wait i actually i rather take my situation than somebody else's or i rather take what i have going to going on right now, then this happening. It makes us be grateful and it makes us think, okay, you know what, we're not that far behind. We may think we're so far behind from something. We may think, oh, we're starting from the bottom, but trust me, there's a way below bottom that it can get. So in actuality, you're ahead. Once you look at that and think, oh my gosh, that's actually a lot
Starting point is 00:17:56 worse than what's going on in my life. You're actually ahead because it's almost like a head start where you know what? You know my pieces to my puzzle is scrambled right now, but at least I have all my pieces. They're not missing. Let me just piece by piece them together where it'll create a big picture in the end. You're going to get to where you want to be one day in your life. You're going to get that family one day that you want. You're going to get that dream house. You're going to get that dream bank account. You're going to look the way you want to. Okay, you're going to have all those things. But that's a thing. You've already accepted it in your heart. and you know, okay, I'm going to have that one day. So enjoy where you're at right now.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Because when we're there one day and we achieve all those things and we have all those things in our life, we're already going to be thinking about what's next. That's where it comes into the importance of being satisfied with what's right in front of you. Because we are always jumping to the next thing. It's normal for us to want more and more and more. Like I said, it's human nature. It's kind of like we want what we can't have.
Starting point is 00:19:00 and the minute you get something, you're already on the next goal. That's why when people say, I'll be happy when I hit a million dollars, every millionaire laughs when people say that because they know, and they were there once. They all had said, oh, I'm going to be happy when I make a million dollars. And they made it. And then their next goal was to make $10 million. Then once they hit $10, it's $20 million. I'll be happy when I hit then $50 million.
Starting point is 00:19:27 It's a domino effect. You're never going to be fully happy. then you're always going to be chasing something else. And it's okay. We can chase other things. We can always have goals. But in the process of having those goals and having those dreams, you have to accept the journey.
Starting point is 00:19:41 And it's true. It's not the destination that's rewarding. It's the journey. And when we look back, we're going to think the finish line wasn't the most rewarding part. It was the journey and the process behind it. And it's... I can't be the only one who has this like dream item of theirs
Starting point is 00:20:02 that they always see whether it's a bag, a sweater, a top, and you're like, I just need that, but it's like sold out everywhere. That's me with this one, vintage, Duny, and Birk bag. I literally was looking everywhere for it, and I somehow found one on a Poshmark. But not just one. Starting point is 00:25:38 money they were given a free beach house that their dad bought for them okay that's great and lucky them that's great. You on the other hand, you dream every day of having a beach house since you were younger. It's been on your Pinterest boards. You work all the time thinking, you know, one day I'm going to be opening the windows in my beach house. You imagine it. You work your dream jobs. You work hard. You climb the corporate ladder if you had to. You did everything you had to to get to that beach house. One day you finally have the key. You're opening the door. This is now your house. That's your beach house. That's why working for things are not bad. It's good.
Starting point is 00:26:22 And even though it's hard and that's the process, it's going to feel that much more rewarding. Because look at the person who was just given the beach house. Yes, that's nice, but they had no passion behind it and motivation to get it because they were already given it. But you had that vision. You had that one. You had that desire.
Starting point is 00:26:41 So you worked and worked and worked for it. And yes, that journey was hard, but you got that beach house. And you look back and having. that beach house is so rewarding because the process of getting there. It was the long hours of working in the middle of the night having to study for school. It was the working after hours in the diner. It was cleaning up bathroom stalls when you had to. It was you volunteering places. And then it was you being an intern at a corporate job place. It was you climbing the corporate ladder. It was you starting your own business. It was you selling your own business. It was you selling your own
Starting point is 00:27:18 business. It was all these different steps that led you to there. Look at it. It's a puzzle. That's why I'm saying your life could feel like it's a ton of different puzzle pieces everywhere, but at least you have every piece of your puzzle. You just need to know how to click it into space. A few things I love that have been on my mind is satisfaction begins when we stop chasing a better moment and fully live in the one we're in. And another thing I love is right now is enough, not because it's perfect, but because it's real. I love that because I feel like comparison is such on the rise, especially with social media. You're going to see your favorite influencers. You're going to see your favorite celebrities.
Starting point is 00:27:56 You're going to see them on a boat. You're going to see them on a yacht. And hell yeah, they're living their life. So is maybe your friend from school. They're traveling the world. They have this new brand new car. Cool. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:28:10 You're going to have that one day too. It feels sometimes a bummer when you see everyone going places and you see everyone having the things that you want, especially if they were just given it and it wasn't necessarily something they worked towards. But here's the thing, we're all on our own separate journeys of our life. If you're constantly comparing, it's like you're looking at the people next to you on the race. If you keep looking at who's around you and how far they are and the race to the finish line, all of a sudden you're going to realize they all passed you because you were just looking around and you weren't looking forward. You have to look forward. You have to look on your goal.
Starting point is 00:28:46 but not only that, look what's right in front of you. I love, you know, working towards our goals. And I feel like hustle culture is also something that is very relevant right now. But that's where also slowing down is good. There is nothing wrong with being slow. Why do we want to rush being where we're at in life? Of course, we want the things we want. We need to work towards those goals.
Starting point is 00:29:09 But 10 years from now, you're going to think, gosh, I can't believe I was stressing that much about wanting to be this age. I'm at now. And then when you're 10 years older than that, you're going to think that too. You're always going to be thinking something when you're older thinking, why didn't I just live in the moment instead of chase something that's so far ahead of me? Slow down. There is nothing wrong with slowing down. People make slowing down and being slow and taking your own time to be a bad thing. It's not. It's that you're enjoying life. Why are you trying to get to the very end and know what's at the very end of life when you have a full life ahead of you? Slow.
Starting point is 00:29:46 down and enjoy what's right in front of you. Something I love is constant striving keeps us numb to the beauty that's already here. I think that's so true because of course, again, we want to strive for our goals. We want to work hard. But we also, at that same time, we have to enjoy the process of it. If we are always looking ahead, you can never live in the present if you're always looking at the future. I also feel like with the wellness culture and the motivation culture, the future is something that's really big that everyone wants to talk about. And I talk about all the time too is work hard for your future self and do things for your future self.
Starting point is 00:30:24 And yes, do those things, but you cannot get lost and what's right in front of you. Something else that is really important to remember is being satisfied with where you're at in life doesn't mean you stop growing. It means you stop punishing yourself for being here. That's so beautiful because when we're older, the more older we get, the more we look back and I think, gosh, I wish I lived in that moment more. I wish I lived with being happy at that moment because, gosh, I had everything I wanted. I didn't even see it.
Starting point is 00:30:53 There's so many times where our life is going to go even more downhill than it already is. What your worst struggles are now, let me tell you, it's probably going to be worse one day, too, at some point. There's ups and downs. There's ebbs and flows, and that's normal. That's part of being a human. And we're going to think one day, gosh, she had everything. She had your younger self. she had exactly what you dreamed about having and she was wanting something else.
Starting point is 00:31:18 That's why when people say they cannot believe that they hid their body when they were younger because they were insecure because they thought they looked bad and now they look back and there's so much older looking, their body doesn't look as nice in their opinion and they think I can't believe I didn't enjoy my body back then when it truly was perfect and I saw it as something different. So enjoy where you're at. As hard as it is, it doesn't need to be perfect. If you always wait for something to be perfect in life to finally begin enjoying it or to be satisfied, you're never going to be satisfied or happy or feeling good. Because life isn't about perfection. Nobody's perfect. Even if you see a girl online, let me tell you, nobody's life is perfect. I will post things that I post for work
Starting point is 00:32:06 or I post the highlights of my life, I could be crying that same day about something that's going on in my personal life. There's things that people show on the outside, and that's okay to. You don't need to show you crying on social media if you don't want to. No one's obligated to do so,
Starting point is 00:32:22 and you don't have to do that. But what you have right now in your career life, in your personal life, in your relationships, everything, you have something that somebody else wishes for. your most casual day is someone else's dream day let me say that again your most casual day is someone else's dream day that's where i'm saying somebody has it worse than you they would take your regular day of waking up if you say i did nothing today you woke up you went to the gym you studied and then you
Starting point is 00:32:59 went home that was your day that was a boring day for you okay someone else who has a hard life, maybe they're in the hospital every day. They would think your day of waking up going to the gym and studying, that is their dream day because they're in the hospital every single day. Your life could get worse. Your life could be worse. Don't think that your life is going to get worse. Don't worry. Think positive. But your life could be worse. So think about how fortunate you are to have what you have right now. If you didn't have what you have right now, you would be wishing for the that you have now. You would be wanting what you have right now. Think about how lucky you are. You get to wake up every day. You get to look outside. You get to, you know, have a phone.
Starting point is 00:33:47 You can listen to things. You could talk to family, talk to friends. You could literally, you're your own person. You're your own identity. You have so much fortunate things that so many people are not fortunate of. Some people out there, many, many, many, many people are not as fortunate as you are. Many people. While your feelings are valid, I want you to realize for your own self that you are so lucky to have what you have because if you didn't have your basic necessities or your basic life things that you have in your everyday life, you would be wanting those things. That would be your dream life. Yes, strive for your goals. Yes, look forward to the future. Yes, be excited about the future because that's fun. You get to like be excited, romanticize it.
Starting point is 00:34:39 But at the same time, don't be thinking so many steps ahead because if you do, you're always just going to be running. You're never going to be walking. You don't want to run through the garden. You want to walk through it. You want to look at the roses. You want to look at the flowers. Stop and smell the flowers. That's where it comes from. When you look around for a second and you think, wow, people are just living. I'm here on earth. On your deathbed one day, do you really want to think, wow, this is what I rushed to get to my whole life? Like, this is what I was running for. This is why I trying to get to the next step. Look how fast life went by. Look how I wanted to just get to the next thing always. And I'm here. I'm at the end. I'm at my deathbed. I wish I just
Starting point is 00:35:26 took a breath and I enjoyed where I was at because I was living the dream life and I didn't even know it. What if you really are living the dream life and you don't know it? What if this is your best? It's not. You have a really great life ahead of you. But nothing is promised. Nothing is. You can get anything that you put your mind to.
Starting point is 00:35:45 But realistically, maybe you don't get that dream beach house that you always wanted. Maybe you don't get that dream car you always wanted. Maybe you don't get those things. and be okay with not having that. That's why you can't think, oh, I'll be happy when I get those things. I'll be happy when I have that beach house, when I have that car. Because what if you never get those things, even though you want those things? What if one day you weren't able to afford it?
Starting point is 00:36:11 You were never able to. You didn't have the funds. You didn't have the money. And there's so be it. You can't just force a beach house. You can't just get one and pick one up. You have to buy it. So maybe that never happened to you.
Starting point is 00:36:23 But that's why you can't think, oh, I'll be happy when I get that thing. Because maybe you'll never get it. And you have to be okay with that too. As hard as that is, you can't allow yourself to feel like your world is falling apart when you don't have something. Be okay with not having what you want.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Be okay with not being okay. The minute you begin feeling like, oh, I wish I had this, or I wish I was somebody else, or I'm so stressed because what if I can't achieve this or what if I don't ever get this beach house that I'm wanting? The minute your mind begins to tumble and have that domino effect, catch yourself. Stop yourself in its tracks and think, at least I'm where I'm at now in life and I'm not in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Or if you're in the hospital, you can think, thank gosh where I'm at life because at least I'm not homeless and I have nothing. Or if you're homeless, you think, well, at least I'm not dying. At least I'm not dying. There's always something worse. So that's why you have to sometimes snap yourself out of it and be like, you know what? I'm not as far behind as I think I am. I'm not as pushed back as I think I am. And it's not a race.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Life is a process. A book I really recommend about kind of that whole mindset of taking things slow and enjoying the journey, not just getting to the end result is the mountain is you. I read that. I really, really recommend that. I think it's a great book to kind of like get you. you in the mindset of not feeling so rushed and enjoying the process. But even the simple things and the simple joys you do in your life, simple task,
Starting point is 00:38:04 make it something interesting, make it something to remember. Try to start creating memories and not trying to make it so much of a chore getting it done, but make it interesting. You have to eat dinner at night. Okay, that's a not chore, but that's a necessity. You have to eat dinner. Okay, light a candle, put on, a nice romantic music, eat it with yourself, eat your dinner with yourself. Like, enjoy the moment.
Starting point is 00:38:30 Take things slow. Enjoy every bit as it comes. I have a tendency, especially with my OCD, I think very ahead. I overthink everything. I overplan. It's very, very intense overplanning. And that's where even myself, I'm like, Jaden, you don't even know what's happening a week from now. You don't know if an asteroid hit the earth, which it's not. Don't worry. It's not. But There's things that come up and there's things and change of plans that you have to roll with the punches. And also, why plan so ahead? Why do you want to know the rest of your life? Why do you want to plan so far in advance when there's something even better out there for you that isn't even planned yet?
Starting point is 00:39:09 The best thing that ever happens to you could be something that you have no clue what it is and that's so unplanned and out of the ordinary. So allow that to have room to come into your life. If you overplan everything, there's no surprise, and there's just stress coming out of you all the time. Start enjoying the small things, find the simple joys in life, and realize you're not behind. It's not a race, and we're all living on our own timeline. A few quotes that I want to leave you with is, live quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will take care of itself. Another one is, don't rush your story. Every chapter deserves to be felt, not just flipped. Lastly is, fulfillment doesn't come from more. It comes from noticing enough. I love that so much because it's so true. Fulflement isn't going to come from getting more and more and more things and more things achieved. It's going to come from noticing what you have already. What you have is enough. And sometimes thinking, oh, it just is not enough. I need more. I need more.
Starting point is 00:40:17 we realize what we have is enough to make us happy. Even if our life is not perfect and there's things going different and wrong in our life, it's enough. We have enough and think that to yourself. Say, I have enough. Like you do. You have enough things in your life to smile today. Even if it doesn't feel like it, you do.
Starting point is 00:40:38 You're alive, you're breathing. Someone else you love is probably alive and breathing. You have enough. Remember, you have a time that's so much. time. You have a lifetime ahead of you. Doesn't matter what age you are. You have a lifetime ahead of you. So don't try to rush to get to the end and start living where you're at right now. Don't think even a month or a week ahead for your daily things. Just think about today. And you can plan for your future self being tomorrow. You don't need to think 10 years in advance.
Starting point is 00:41:13 Think of now. Think of maybe tomorrow. But most importantly, think of the present. I love you so much and I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I enjoy talking to you today. I feel like it just is something that is not talked about enough and finding fulfillment from what we have already in our life is just so important and it truly is at the end of the day comes down to perspective.
