Hello, my love. Welcome to the Busy Yet Pretty podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. We talk all about
self-care, self-love, Pinterest, Dreamgirl life, everything. Becoming the best version of you on the show.
Today's episode, we're going to talk all about how you can become the best version of you. And a lot of times
we feel the pressure and then New Year to, you know, start all these goals and everything. And we're also
going to talk about realistic goals because setting goals can be overwhelming and how to do it and how to
approach it so so we'll chat all about realistic goals finding yourself again and getting that motivation
for the new year but without further ado let's get into today's weekly review this week i hosted a
vision board event for my la listeners and i had a really cute intimate brunch with the girls and i just
wanted to make it fun where i had a vision board party so we all did vision boards and it was really so
fun to get to connect with you guys and i'm so beyond grateful for all my listeners
and if you want me to go host an event in your city please comment on my Instagram post
what city you'd like to see me host an event at.
Another thing this week is I had a really deep clean and just looking through all my stuff
and let's just say it became a mess in my apartment but there is nothing more rewarding than
looking through things and getting rid of things that you don't need anymore and starting fresh
because having a fresh space is going to leave you with a fresh mindset.
And lastly this week I have just been kicking
off the new year right with not so much 75 hard, more like 75 sweet treats.
Since my period has become more regular, which I'm so grateful for and we'll definitely
do an episode all about that soon on what helped me get my period back when I hadn't had my
period for over two years. But since then, I have just been having the sweet treat cravings
and have been honoring all my cravings. So I have had like eight cookies a day and with no
shame and loving it and it just is the perfect way to ring in the new year now on to the current
obsessions my current obsessions at the moment is blue hydrangeas i think blue hydrangeas just give
the perfect cape cod summer house look if that's what you're going for for me i'm just lately obsessed
with the nancy meyers martha stewartine garden aesthetic i think it's truly so beautiful and chic and
something that i'm really trying to lean into especially like the shabby chic style truly my favorite
with all the pastels.
So, so beautiful.
And lastly, my current obsession right now is light pink and sage green.
I think that color combo duo is just absolutely stunning and looks so classy and beautiful.
And it just is so feminine.
Now and to the goal of the week.
My goal of the week right now is to become more minimal.
Well, it's almost like my goal of the year is to become more minimal and have a more minimalist space.
and that includes me completing my Jeep clean of my apartment and just getting rid of things I do not need anymore.
I feel like we could all use a refresh going into the new year.
And another goal of the week right now is to dial in on my new year goals.
I think it is so important where in the beginning of the year, we make all our new year's resolutions and our goals,
but we sometimes forget to always check in on them.
And it's something great to where you have your goals or your vision board.
to paste it on your walls so you can see it every day and every morning to remind you of your goals
or have it on your home screen something where you can realign with your goals lastly my goal of the week is to
redecorate my apartment i have been getting so much new home decor from home goods and tj max
lately and one i love shopping in a good deal and they have such great decor and stuff but i have been
shopping a little too much and getting so much new home decor but it's coming together so cutely and i'm really
excited for it to be all done. Now onto your self-love question. How am I going to approach my goals
differently this year than last year? I love that question so much because there's things that we did last
year that we tried out a little trial and error moment, but it may have not worked exactly how we
thought it would be. And it's good to reflect on that and think, how did I approach my goals last
year that did not work versus how I will approach them this year. Now on to your affirmation.
This year is the beginning to the life I've always dreamed of.
I love that affirmation so much because let's be real.
I feel like we all have that lifestyle or that vision in mind.
And this is the year we finally start.
There's no more waiting.
We are starting our lifestyle now.
We're going to have our dream life.
And ultimately, you're going to become the best version of you when you start.
And I'm just so excited for you because I just know this is your year.
Now on to your challenge of the week.
Have an intense room or home refresh to enter the new year with a clear mindset.
I love that challenge so much because like we're just talking about,
it can feel very overwhelming to have a very cluttered space and it's good to just reflect,
look through things and have a little refresh, get rid of things we do not need anymore.
Donate them, give it to your family.
See who else wants it because one woman's treasure is another woman's, wait,
one woman's trash is another woman's treasure.
so it's good to just get rid of things we do not need anymore to bring in the new.
Now on to the podcast review.

This review is from Kaylin, and Kaylin said,
Hi, Jaden, I've been listening to your podcast since it first came out in 2022,
and I just want to say how much is truly changed my life.
I discovered it during my first breakup,
and it helped me learn how to prioritize my self-care
and put myself first. Your podcast has allowed me to become the best version of myself and inspired me
to keep striving for growth. I cannot thank you enough for the impact you've had on me,
not just me, but on so many people around the world. You are truly an inspiration and have taught me
how to stay busy yet pretty. Kaelan, thank you so much for your sweet review and I cannot tell you
how grateful I am and I'm so grateful that the podcast has been able to help you on your journey on
finding yourself and becoming the best version of you. It truly makes my day and I hope that
hope you know how grateful I am. Without further ado, let's get into today's episode. It's coming up
almost the three-year anniversary of the podcast, and I'm so beyond grateful for all the love and
support with all the story reshairs on Instagram and TikTok. It just makes my day. And feel free to
tag me because I always repost them. But like I said, sorry, I went off on a tangent. Without
further ado, let's get into today's episode. So today, it is time that you become the best version of
you in 2025. We're going to talk all about setting realistic goals and motivation and ultimately
finding yourself again, or maybe you're going to be finding yourself for the first time. Whether
you've been on a productive streak when it comes to your new year resolutions or maybe you've
had a rough start to your year so far, this episode is perfect for you because no matter where
you are, this is what we need to do. It's dialing in becoming the best version of ourselves and
really focusing on what we truly want in life. If you're someone who has not really been able to dial in
and had a great new year's goals set or new year progress so far, I want you to remember that any day
of your life and any day of the year is the perfect and right time to start. You need to remove the all
or nothing mindset where you think, well, I haven't had any progress for 2025 yet so far. So all of this
is down the drain and I don't care about having goals. No, we are removing that mindset because that
mindset, the all or nothing mindset is going to do nothing but bring us down and push us farther away
from getting the lifestyle that we want. To become the best version of you, you have to realize that
we are prioritizing progress and consistency because a little progress is better than no progress at all.
And I do want to point out that it is very cliche for us to all want to go all in for our goals and
all or nothing and just have a news lifestyle in the beginning every every year.
But I want you to remember that it is essential that your goal is to be consistent
because being consistent with a small progress is going to take you a lot farther than being
productive for one day, really productive for one day, than dropping it all.
Because little things add up and that ties into realistic goals.
As I always say, there is no goal too big.
and if you believe it's yours, it's yours and it will truly come to reality for you.
But when it comes to having large goals such as becoming a lawyer,
but let me just say, that is a big goal.
And that goal is definitely realistic and that goal is going to come to life for you.
But looking at that is going to be so overwhelming because you're like,
that is a big goal.
I don't know where to start.
I don't know what to do.
Never mind, I give up.
And the best version of you is not going to do that anymore.
We are going to take every single goal to be our reality, but here's the thing.
If you want to achieve that large goal, then that goal needs to be broken down.
So instead of looking at a goal as a task itself or that being your goal for 2025 is where you need to get that goal
and break it down into small goals that you can achieve because those will be your goals.
What I mean by that is the hero goal.
The end goal is, let's say you being a lawyer.
Okay, that is a very hard thing to look at when you have no clue how to get there what to do.
So here's the thing.
You need to break everything down as goals itself.
Every single step is a goal.
What I like to do is call them bite-sized goals.
You kind of like can think of them almost as a tea time sandwich.
You know those little sandwiches when you have at a tea time.
When you break down your main hero big goal, those are going to have those little tea time bite-sized goals.
because you're not going to achieve your main goal overnight.
It could take years, which is where you may be feeling far away and unrealistic to even have that goal.
So understand that's going to be your lifestyle one day and instead take that big goal that you had
and look instead at those small little goals you have.
Progress is your main goal.
Same thing with goes with working out.
If your goal is to have a toned body, that big picture goal may feel unrealistic because you may feel very far away from that
since you haven't worked out in forever, you don't feel in shape, and it could just feel very hard and
undoable. But your goal of having a toned body, you're going to break into little bite-sized goals,
and that being you working out, you cooking more at home, you eating healthier, you taking morning walks,
are going to feel much more doable than just having that one huge goal on your to-do list.
And I know I've said the word goals a million times, but there's times where those bite-sized goals are going to be really hard.
They will be challenges as itself, and you need to remember that you can check off one goal.
And once you do that and you check off that one goal, you can do another.
I can't be the only one who has this like dream item of theirs that they always see,
whether it's a bag, a sweater, a top, and you're like, I just need that, but it's like sold out everywhere.
That's me with this one, vintage Duny and Burke bag.
I literally was looking everywhere for it and I somehow found one on a posh mark.
But not just one, I found multiple of them at such a good price and I was like, wait, this is just too good to be true.
So if you know me, you know I am a Poshmark girl.
Poshmark is a marketplace where you can list and sell as well as buy new items, vintage pieces, gently used, luxury pieces.
They really just have it all.
And I feel like there's no better time to go on Poshmark now.
Everyone's cleaning out their closet and listing good things.
Get in bed, get cozy and go on Pashmark to add to your new spring wardrobe, new deals and sales.

I literally was looking everywhere for it and I somehow found one on a poshmark.

If you can do something once, you can do it again and you can do it again.
As hard as it is, you can do it and you're going to have that progress.
something that's kind of lived by in sobriety.
You can just take one day at a time.
If you can stay sober for one day, just one day,
you can do it another day and another day and another day.
You're going to have days where you're going to be having roadblocks.
You're going to be having a down day.
You're ready to start your work and then your matcha spills everywhere.
Or you wake up and you missed all your alarm clocks.
But if you just get up and get started and dial in and you get through just one day,
you can do it again the next day.
Don't quit on yourself because quitting on yourself is the worst thing you could ever do.
You are a precious, perfect soul.
And I'm telling you, your potential is so much more than you actually believe it to be.
I'm telling you, whatever how much you believe in yourself, you can do that a million times more.
Your potential is absolutely unreal.
And it's all about what you believe in yourself is what you're going to do.
So like I was saying, focus on your bite-sized goals.
and even if one of those bite-sized goals are hard for you and a roadblock,
get through that one goal and then you're done and then you can get through another the next day.
And soon enough, you're going to look back and all those bite-sized goals added up to achieve your big picture goal.
Instead of staring at the big mountain in front of you, focus on the steps right in front of you
because if you keep looking forward and you keep worrying about what's ahead of you,
that's going to deter you from becoming the best version of you.
And instead, that's going to just ruin your progress
rather than keeping you consistent and motivated.
So that's another thing.
Do not jump ahead and just look at the steps in front of you
and keep moving forward from there.
That also being said, you have to set realistic goals
with your schedule and your to-do list for your daily schedule
that are not too overwhelming.
It's exciting when we kind of pack in our schedule
and we think this is all we're going to do tomorrow,
or this is all we're going to do today,
and it looks so exciting if all those things can be checked off.
But let me just say you're probably going to check off half or less of those.
And then we're going to be left feeling bummed at the end of the day
that we didn't achieve everything.
Let me remind you that you only have so many hours in a day.
Use your time wisely, but also don't over put too many to-does on your list
because it's only going to leave you disappointed
why you couldn't achieve everything on your list every day.
So sit down every time you go to write out your schedule and set realistic goals. Again, we're aiming for bite size. So whatever that fraction of the large goal is, break that goal into tiny, tiny steps that you can put in your to-do list. Setting a realistic and appropriate amount of to-dos for each of your days is going to help you not burn out and to stay consistent. One way you can really make life exciting and to push you to have that drive.
for motivation to become that best version of you and to have that dream life is to find something
to idolize and what I mean by that is whether it's a person or a lifestyle or an aesthetic
find something that makes you feel inspired and that leaves you feeling almost like your daydreaming
of what if that was my life and that feeling gives you gives you excitement let me give you an example
when I was younger all I loved to watch was the Victoria's Secret models on YouTube so I would love
watching Rumi Stride and she was one of the OG Victoria's Secret models and I just loved her
videos because I love seeing her healthy breakfast and SPO, her hairstyles, and her overall lifestyle.
And me consuming positive content and watching her lifestyle made me excited because I would think
what if that was my life and I kind of started daydreaming that what my life could be if it looked
like that. So that content inspired me to dive into wellness and to have.
healthy eating and once I started realizing that I love the wellness space and the beauty space
and the home decor space and self-care. That allowed me to dive even deeper to figure out my own
personal style. So that would leave me finding my own personal favorites and I was able to discover
and create my own personal dream lifestyle through Pinterest and vision boards. And that's where goals
have been established. So it's kind of a domino effect. So what you need to do is find something that you
idolize whether it's in the beauty space, wellness space, lifestyle, anything, any type of thing that you
want to idolize that kind of makes you excited if that were to be your life. From there, you can dive
deeper into thinking, what type of goals can I set for me to kind of have my life be like that?
Use that positive content as a driving force to make some goals for yourself and work towards
those goals. Now I go to Pinterest and I just browse all my boards of my home decor, lifestyle photos,
self-improvement and every time I do that I just leave so excited after seeing them so find what makes you
excited and use that as your inspo to establish your goals and move in the positive direction into achieving them
and when it comes to becoming the best version of you this year and talking about resolutions
I don't want you to get too caught up in your goals because let me remind you that the purpose of life
is not how many things that you've achieved in your life or what job that you have or how much
money you have in your bank account because let me just say all those things are going to die off
when you die. That's the harsh reality. What you want to do is live your life. It's all about experiencing
and enjoying life and nothing defines you but the person you are to yourself and you are to others.
The person you portray in your actions and your habits in your daily life is you as a person,
not your job, not your goals, not how much money you.
you have. It's not any of that. It's no materialistic thing. It's you as a person. When you die,
your money doesn't come with you. When you die, your items don't come with you. Your job doesn't come
with you. But what comes with you is your experiences and memories. And that's all that matters.
At the end of the day, we just want to love ourselves and be happy with ourselves. And of course,
we're human. So we have those struggles of it not being the easiest time when we have roadblocks or we
don't like something about ourselves, but my love, we're human. We're all going to feel that way.
It's not just you. Do you understand how many times I have hated something about myself?
I put out all my motivational stuff and sometimes I will feel down about myself some days.
And all that matters is that you know how to pick yourself up when you're feeling down.
Because nobody's going to be there for you as you are going to be for yourself.
So again, don't get too caught up in your New Year's resolutions.
and a quote that I love is don't let the pursuit of tomorrow dismiss the joy of today,
meaning we could be so excited and motivated for the days ahead,
but we forget to enjoy the present.
And look where we are right now and the journey of doing this.
Don't get me wrong.
Of course, we are dialing in this new year and focusing on our goals,
but I want you to be sure to enjoy the process and enjoy the climb
because when you get to the top of the mountain,
you'll look back and wish you had enjoyed the journey a bit more.
Okay, so when it comes to being the best version of you, it's very important that you understand that the best version of you looks different on everyone.
The best version of you is not going to look like the best version of your friend.
It's not going to look like the best version of me or your mom or your dad.
We all look different and that is the beauty of it because it's a personalized version that works for you.
Why would you try to live the best version of Jaden when you're not Jaden?
Why would you try to live the best version of your friend when you're not living your friend's life?
My love, you're living your life.
So what is the best version of you?
What works best for you is personal to you and not for everyone else.
Let me start by saying this.
You need to make your life fun.
Life is not, your goal is nothing.
Nothing will be fun if you don't plan ahead to get yourself ready to enjoy the process of it.
And what I mean by that is we could have a full.
school year ahead or a full job ahead of us. But if we just have our days be repeat like a broken
record and just feels like every single day is replaying, what are we taking away from that?
We want to take away experience and happiness. And don't get me wrong, it's hard to experience
and find a lot of joy when your days are limited hours being taken up mostly by school or work.
But that's where we dig up the simple joys in life. Those simple joys could be buying
yourself flowers, making your morning macha, doing your makeup while listening to a podcast, reading,
taking a morning walk with your friend. Doing simple joys is going to bring you so much more
liveliness and happiness when you prioritize that. And you need to start working towards becoming
the best version of you out of love for yourself and not hate. You are a golden class girl.
Do you realize your potential? It is time that you finally become obsessed with yourself.
and treat yourself as you would treat the best version of you.
Do your nails because you love yourself and you want to feel confident.
Buy yourself flowers because you want to have a beautiful home.
Work out because it makes you feel so good afterwards.
Take breaks because you deserve it and it's nice to recharge.
Treat others with love because that's how you want to be treated.
Eat your favorite sweet treats because you love yourself enough not to deny what makes you happy.
Be disciplined with yourself because your hard work pays off.
Promise yourself that you'll make this your best year yet because you deserve that.
So begin doing things and taking action all out of the love for yourself because you know you deserve it rather than any hate you have for yourself.
And what I mean by that, it's easy to hate something about ourselves and want to change it.
So that's our motivation to change it is because we have hate for it.
Or we have hate for someone else.
So we want to do something like a revenge success.
So we want to be successful in something to laugh at it in their face.
No, you're not caring about anyone else.
We're not doing things out of hate.
We're doing things out of love for ourselves, and we're going to provide for ourselves.
You need to be your best provider.
There's going to be other providers out there, and when you get a relationship, it's amazing
if you have a provider, and I always preach that your significant other should be a provider
and someone who treasures you, adores you, is a provider, and gives you everything you want
in life.
But most importantly, I want you to do that first.
for yourself. Be your own provider first because when you provide for yourself and all that you want
in life will be the best gift you could ever give yourself. To become the best version of you,
it's time that you look inward and do a little refresh and clean out all the negativity in your
mind and begin to recreate and redesign yourself. And the same goes for your external self. So
anything in your life, you need to do a refresh maybe that goes for your room, people you
surround yourself with everything. Do a refresh, clean out, and start fresh. A big thing you should do
to become the best version of you this year is redecorate your space. I feel like holding on to our styles
or when it comes to both fashion and our home and we're not really obsessed with it anymore or loving it.
It's good to have a little refresh because when we hold on to old items, it can hold on to old memories
that we don't love or old habits that we don't love. And it's good to kind of remove that.
separate ourselves from those things and start fresh to write a new chapter of your life. Also,
this is very cliche, but give yourself a good self-care day. Start doing, trying out some new
hairstyles, ones that you'll be obsessed with doing in the new year, do your nails, do things that
make you feel loved for and confident and replace social media scrolling with Pinterest,
maybe start your mornings with a matcha and raw honey and oatmeal or maybe a savory
crepe as you plan out your schedule. It's so exciting. Again, we're focusing on doing exciting
things to make everything fun, but focus on having a cute planner or something that makes you
excited to schedule out your day. And again, your reminder to not overbook yourself because we're
focusing on progress and that means realistically scheduling out your goals and tasks that are not
going to overwhelm you, but instead you're going to leave with progress. This is your year to find you
again or maybe just find yourself for the first time. Whenever you're listening to this,
this is the perfect day to start. No matter where you are in life, no matter what day it is,
no matter what anyone says, this is the time you become the best version of you. You deserve to be
happy. You deserve to feel loved and you deserve to treat yourself right and you deserve to have
the lifestyle that you want. So dial in, take time to do it. Use your time wisely and most importantly
enjoy the journey of it. And while you do this,
that ask yourself, what is the best version of you? I love you guys so much and I hope you enjoyed
