Starting point is 00:00:10 Hello, hello, hello, my love. Welcome to The Busy at Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you are new here, welcome to the show. We talk all about how to become the best version of you, speaking of today's episode, and also just how to live your dream life, things that you feel good. And we also talk about topics that are kind of touchy, such as real life things that we all go through that could be your relationship with food, how you view yourself, self-love, your self-love journey, and social anxiety. Literally, we talk about it all here. It's a community and open, safe space, but I'm very happy you're here. And today's episode is going to be a very fun, motivating, exciting one, which is on summer because summer to me is the season of self-care. So this episode is going to be on how you can become the happiest and healthiest version of yourself this summer, touching on your new mindset, setting goals, and dialing in. But before we get into today's episode, let's get in with our weekly review. So this week, I have been really leaning onto summer colors lately. I just have been loving. I know it's like trending right now, but I love it so much. It's the butter yellow. I love
Starting point is 00:01:22 butter yellow, pink pastels, like hydrangea blues. I just love the colors so much. And I've been really trying to lean into those colors this summer. Another thing this week is I've been trying to stay organized. And I am doing this. So I hope you are too, but staying organized. Just leave. Just leaves you with such a clear mind and it has made me feel so much more put together when I'm organized. I mean, I think that's common sense. But even the little things such as picking up in the morning, picking up in the afternoon and before you go to bed, those little things are preventing you having a big mess at all. And it just is good maintenance and a good rule of them to have.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Another thing this week is I have been feeling very motivated. I think that comes with this whole summer becoming the best version of you, mindset. I just am really excited for this summer and working hard for my personal self this summer. I feel like all throughout the year, other than summer, we're really dialed into our career goals. And don't get me wrong, love career goals. And I feel like that's something to work hard on. And that's something that most of our life revolves around. But we sometimes let our personal goals be left behind. And that's something that I really want to dial in this episode. Now on to the current obsessions of the week.
Starting point is 00:02:41 My current obsession at the moment is my hair in a low ponytail. I just think it looks so cute and chic when you have your hair in a low pony. Another current obsession right now is therapy. I've been loving my new therapist. I feel like I'm learning so much good tips on how to better manage my OCD with my OCD being just like extreme anxiety about certain random things, such as death anxiety and all of that. But anyways, it's been going good and I'm really happy about it.
Starting point is 00:03:11 And my last current obsession at the moment is my book hall. I got a ton of new books and I posted it over Reels and TikTok, a ton of new summer books. And I'm just so excited because I don't know why, but in summer I literally could just read by the pool, by the beach and never get sick of it. I love it. Now into the goal of the week. My goal of the week right now is to get back into my workouts. I haven't worked out for literally months. I've only done some walking and stuff, which is great.
Starting point is 00:03:40 But I haven't done any workouts because of my occipital neuralgia. And I can just see that I'm not feeling as strong as I used to feel and definitely lacking the muscle that I had. And it's more just like, well, I feel like when I had occipital neurologia flare, I kind of just had been like chilling out and eating a lot. And that's great. But I want to get back into working out and feel. feeling good and feeling toned and strong. And I have my physical therapy appointment tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:04:11 So I'm very excited to hear what workouts I can do to help get that strength back. Another goal of the week right now is to leave my air filter on at home all day long. Because I feel like when you live in a city, especially when you live in a city, but anywhere you live, it's really good to have a good air filter going. And it just filters out there to make it more cleaner, purified air. So I definitely want to leave that on more throughout the day. And my last goal of the week right now is to take more cold and cold showers and like cold dips in the pool in the morning. I don't get me wrong. I actually, I've always said like I feel like I get very stressed out when I do ice baths and anything. But I realize I cannot stay in an ice bath longer than 10 seconds.
Starting point is 00:05:01 so I do want to be able to work up my tolerance to cold exposure. So I want to start doing like some little dips in the pool in the morning to get my body used to some coldness and also do some cold showers. I don't love doing it all the time just because I run as a very stressed person. But I do know it can sometimes lower your stress if you do it in a correct balanced way. Now unto your affirmation of the week. I am prepared to put effort into having the best summer yet. I love that affirmation so much, and I feel like this is something we are all collectively affirming to ourselves.
Starting point is 00:05:36 And now on to your self-love question, how do I envision myself by the end of this summer? I love that question so much because it really just puts us in place to think of how do we want to look, not like look physically wise, but that could be that too, but how do you want to look collectively, mentally, physically by the end of the summer? How do we want to feel? And that's something that kind of gives you that set goal to have that motivation. motivation to work towards the summer. Now on to your challenge of the week. Reach out to an old friend to catch up over matcha and coffee this week. I love that so much,
Starting point is 00:06:10 and I think that's such a great challenge because we always have an old friend that we never caught up with, and I think it's really important to nurture those old relationships and to give some time into that once in a while, so I really recommend you doing that. Now on to the podcast review. If you want to be featured on next week's episode, make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple podcast and leave a five-star rating over Spotify. Okay, this review is so funny, but this is from Carly and Carly said, I literally feel so needy writing this 30 seconds after I found this podcast, but I love it. So highly recommend this.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Thank you so much, Carly, and I am just so happy that I sold you that quick on the show. I just love when I hear that you guys get hooked so quick on the show, and it just makes me feel like we're one big family, and that was my main goal of this podcast. So I love you and I'm so beyond grateful. Okay, my sweet love, it is time to get into today's episode, which I am truly so excited for, probably one of the most excited episodes I have been in a good while. Just because I know I'm not the only one like thinking about this right now, I know I am, I know you are, and I know everyone is collectively thinking about this, but let's get into
Starting point is 00:07:25 how to become the happiest and healthiest version of you this summer. from having a new mindset, setting goals, and dialing in. Before we really get into how to become the happiest, healthiest version of you, I do want to start off by saying, as much as you may have this urgency to be the person that you aspire to be right now or have your dream life, have your dream body, or have a ton of money, have the dream house, happiness, success, right now. It's like, you sometimes just feel it and you're like,
Starting point is 00:07:53 oh my gosh, I can't live how I'm at right now. I have to just be where I want to be right now. this now. And that urgency is great because it helps you be productive to get there. But I also do want you to know that while you should be excited to have those things and look forward to achieving those goals, you have to enjoy where you're at right now in the process of getting there. You can enjoy both the anticipation of the destination and enjoy the now and the process of getting there. So to get to the point of what I'm trying to say is don't think I'll be happy when I achieve this or I'll be happy when.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I complete my summer goals or I'll wear a bikini when I am finally toned. Because the best part is you can enjoy where you're at right now and still look forward to achieving those goals. But let's dive into how to become a happier and healthier version of you this summer. I just want to throw that out there because I do think it is really important to not only, of course, look forward to our goals, but live in the present and enjoy the now because we're always going to be in the process of another goal and you'll one day realize, wait, I wish I enjoyed that time during then because I look great during then or I was doing better than I was now.
Starting point is 00:09:05 And we just really have to enjoy the process where we are right now while on the way there. But anyways, back to what I was saying, summer is what you make of it. Maybe you want to work hard and have a self-care summer or maybe you want a relaxing, chilling out summer. You can do whatever you want. These are ideas. There's not a right and wrong way to spend and enjoy your summer. For me, I'm having a very balanced summer where I'm both chilling out, but also locking the heck in. I love locking in in the summer and just working hard on myself.
Starting point is 00:09:38 But I really want to chat on the dialing in part of summer where we put in the work to become the best version of ourselves. You and everyone else and me, we all have to change our mindsets. We have to change our mindset because here's the thing. the thing that's between you and your dream life and the dream version of yourself is your mindset. It's a wall between you. So it's you and then think of the best version of you on the other side. The wall between you and having that is your mindset. So we have to change our mindset. We are ditching doubt and worry and hesitation and procrastination this summer. Of course, something that we're always going to accidentally have at some point in our life.
Starting point is 00:10:18 But we have to intentionally try to ditch those mindsets. I need you to realize that you are the only person capable of improving your life and your well-being. I kid you not. I will be in a deep slump or a depressive episode, which is very rare, but sometimes I will, you know, get pretty deep and not doing that great. And I kid you not, when you're in that feeling and in that stage of feeling that, you think nothing's going to help and I don't want any help. It's very easy to just decline any help. You don't want it. you know it's not going to help and just that mindset of I want to be alone. I don't even care.
Starting point is 00:10:56 But let me remind you that taking action on the basic self-care rituals can literally be what saves your life. When I'm in a slump or not doing my best mentally, which I was at for a second not too long ago, I know for myself as hard as it is and how stubborn my attitude may be with thinking nothing is going to change how I feel. I feel like I don't want to do it. I feel down. I don't want to want to do anything. As hard as it is to come to terms with this, I will literally force myself to do one basic form of self-care when I don't want to. That could be me working out or going on a walk, reading a book, cleaning my room, or doing a hobby that I like is always, always the start of a new chapter for me. You don't realize how simple of one thing of self-care, such as working out,
Starting point is 00:11:48 going on a walk, reading a book, can literally save your life. And I'm telling you that, like, with my honest truth, as cliche as it sounds, it really can. Because you are guaranteed to feel better than you did. I'm not saying that one walk or reading a book for a little bit is going to bring you all the 100% motivation and happiness yet. But I can tell you it is a step in the right direction. Once you do one thing, it becomes easier to do it again and not only easier, but you're going to you begin to feel excited and you want to do it. Self-care won't feel like a chore anymore, but it'll feel exciting and motivating. This summer, make a promise to yourself that you're going to work hard on enjoying your summer and put effort into your goals this summer. And if by the end of the
Starting point is 00:12:34 summer, you don't feel any bit better than you do, then you don't have to do it anymore. Often when starting like this new journey or this new like goal, we maybe not had success in the past, so we think it's not going to work. I don't want to do it. I don't want to try. It's useless and I'm not going to be able to achieve it. And when we have those negative thoughts going into it, we're never going to be able to go all in and perform our best,
Starting point is 00:13:00 which is why I'm saying make a promise to yourself this summer that you're going to work hard in enjoying your time and putting effort into your goals. And you know, you can think, okay, if it doesn't work out by the end of the summer, then I don't have to set goals for myself anymore. And I'm saying that because I'm, I know for a fact that you will be a different person by the end of summer if you really dial in.
Starting point is 00:13:23 I am so unbelievably confident in your ability to provide this for yourself and provide what you need and to work hard for yourself, which is why I'm saying that. When it comes to goals this summer, we are of course still focused on our career goals, but most of all, I want us to put most and almost all of our focus into our personal goals. And when we say personal goals, the goal, becoming happier is a goal. Feeling stronger is a goal. It doesn't need to be a black or white goal, such as getting your license or hitting a certain amount of reps at the gym. Of course, those are great and I actually do encourage you to have specific goals so you feel more clear and targeted towards what your intentions are.
Starting point is 00:14:09 But becoming happier or feeling stronger, those overall goals can simply. be goals as well. Remember, you have to want something in order to get the motivation. And I don't want you to use hate to fuel your motivation. It's very easy to do that. And we tend to do that very often, especially in today's day and age when it comes to our body, will think, oh, I hate my body so much. And that's where your motivation of going to the gym comes from. Of course, whatever motivation is good motivation. But at the end of the day, hating yourself in order to get up and get started is not the way to do it. You can hate your situation and you can be like, gosh, I do not like where I'm at my life. And that sometimes is the best thing to be the driving force to get you up out of the slum and to get
Starting point is 00:14:56 you started on working hard and getting that motivation. But when it comes to your overall goals, you shouldn't be using hate to feel all your goals. That could be, I hate my body. So that's your motivation to work out. Or I hate my clothes. So this is my motivation to make more money to buy new So instead of using hate to fuel your goals of the summer, instead use positivity and use motivation and excitement. So you could be like, gosh, I love this car so much. I'm going to work hard to save money to one day buy that. And I'm so excited to have that car one day. Another one can be, I love my body, but I don't feel as strong as I want to be.
Starting point is 00:15:35 And I want to feel stronger and be able to have more energy throughout the days. So I'm going to go start going to the gym to get that strength and get that awakeness and alertness. Thinking of the end results and the destination fuels motivation. Hate does nothing but resent your own self and pull you further away from your goals. For summer goals, make a new Pinterest board of all the things that you want to do and achieve and what you want your summer to look like. And I want you to sit with yourself also and make a list of specific personal goals that you have for yourself this summer. I can't be the only one who has this like dream item of theirs. that they always see whether it's a bag, a sweater, a top, and you're like, I just need that,
Starting point is 00:16:23 but it's like sold out everywhere. That's me with this one, vintage Duny and Burke bag. I literally was looking everywhere for it, and I somehow found one on a Poshmark. But not just one. I found multiple of them at such a good price, and I was like, wait, this is just too good to be true. So if you know me, you know I am a Poshmark girl. Poshmark is a marketplace where you can list and sell, as well as buy new items, vintage pieces, gently used, luxury pieces, they really just have it all. I'm not going to waste your time walking you through how to do that. But instead, let's talk about ideas of goals that you could set for yourself that are motivating and that may apply to you. Also, when it comes to goals, I'm not sure if this is just me, but I have a hard time wanting to set a goal with just a goal with just the goal of being like, okay, you know, I have a goal to get my license. Okay, also don't come for me. I still, I always say that's my goal. I still never get my license. But this is an example. I have a hard time achieving a goal unless I really put a motion behind it, not just saying,
Starting point is 00:22:27 okay, get my license as a goal. It has to be why. What is the like aesthetic part? And I know it sounds stupid kind of, but I love to make my goals feel aesthetic and have this like romanticized version of the destination. So instead of thinking, okay, get my license is the goal. I think, okay, I want to be able to drive around with a headscarf, with the top down, and feeling the cool breeze on me with the music playing on my way to go get a smoothie. That is what I'm thinking of when instead of, oh, I want to get my license, that is what I want. have a clear vision of a specific goal, but put some aesthetic, interesting things behind it that makes you excited to want to achieve it. There's nothing wrong with romanticizing your life and your goals
Starting point is 00:23:16 and trying to put a heavy emotion behind it because when you have a heavy emotion and a desire linked behind a goal, it doesn't just become words or doesn't just become a task or a goal. It becomes a desire and a want and that's where you get that motivation to want to work hard to achieve that. Maybe one of your goals is to eat healthier, even though that's a very wider goal, not a very specific goal. Or you could say my goal is to eat less processed foods or less takeout foods. You can take that as a goal and on paper it just feels like a chore and very black and white a bang, okay, you don't want to eat as much processed foods or takeout. But now you have to think, okay, why do I want that? Why do I want this goal? Okay, you think, I want to feel better throughout the
Starting point is 00:24:08 days. I want to feel more awake, more energized. I want to feel like I learn how to cook more. I want to be more confident in my cooking skills so I can cook at home. I want to be experimenting with new recipes so one day I could have a dinner party and host all my friends. So now that goal of I want to eat healthier or I want to eat less unprocessed foods and less takeout isn't just that. Now it's, okay, your goal is you want to host dinner parties and you want to be able to host people. You want to feel better throughout the day. You want to learn how to do new recipes at home. There's more to the goal and it now becomes such an emotional connection to it where it doesn't feel like just a chore, but it feels like something that you actually want to put your time
Starting point is 00:24:52 towards and want to work hard to because you know that end result. as I was saying, I'm not going to walk you through how to set goals because you already know that, but I'm going to share some goals that you can set for yourself the summer that may apply to you. So number one is feeling stronger and toning up. There is nothing wrong with your body. Your body is beautiful no matter what. And let me just tell you, a healthy body, a healthy body looks different on everyone. A healthier body for someone may be leaner.
Starting point is 00:25:23 and a healthier body for someone may be a little more weight on them. It looks different on everyone. Let me tell you this. My healthiest body when I have my period is not when I'm so stick thin, tiny. Okay, I don't want to be that. But I'm saying it's not, that's not the goal for me. And I realize is when I was very tiny and very going through my eating disorder, I was not getting my period for years.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Okay. So let me just remind you that health. looks different on everyone. So drop the comparison this summer. There is no point in comparing because we are all different people. We have all different bodies. So think of your own personal goal and your own personal self when setting these goals. So like I said, setting goals, feeling stronger and toning up can be a goal. That's my actual personal goal for the summer. Losing weight for me, not a goal. I don't want to lose weight. Getting skinnier, not a goal for me. My goal is feeling stronger in up. That's my goal. That may be yours as well. But again, do not bully yourself into doing it.
Starting point is 00:26:30 But begin feeling excited about the process and finding joy on daily walks and putting on your favorite podcasts, maybe busy at Bertie or music, or going on a walk or a hike with your friend and putting on a cute workout set, going to the gym with your new workout back. And maybe you start doing Pilates so your post Pilates matcha you can look forward to. So some sort of movement as a personal goal is a great goal to have in the summer. Now for another goal is room slash home makeover. If you own a home or have a home or if you have just a room and you live with someone, think about doing a little makeover for your space. Make your environment a place that you want to be. Put on a podcast, music, light a candle, and have your mom.
Starting point is 00:27:21 or your coffee with you while you organize. Have this be a daily occurrence. It can literally be 10 or 15 minutes of just straightening up around the house or around your room. And I'm telling you that is the perfect maintenance thing you could do for yourself to prevent you getting a huge mess in your room with your house one day. But it also just gives you some piece of time to not be on your phone and do something for yourself, which is staying organized because remember, your external environment is going to reflect into your internal. Then after organizing and cleaning, as a little reward, you can always browse some home decor ideas to see how you want to decorate your space.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Another thing is master your new summer drink. This can maybe be a birthday kick macha with sprinkles or a blueberry ice coffee. Remember, our goals, our personal goals, do not need to be, quote, healthy to be a goal. It doesn't need to be a healthy food or a healthy thing. It doesn't always need to be healthy. Things that feed your soul, that's a goal. Okay? So maybe mastering your new fun drink of the summer is a goal for you.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Let me just tell you, it's mine for me. I love experiencing with different, experimenting with different type of machas, coffee, saying what I like to make, been loving birthday cake, machas with sprinkles lately. So good. And try to find maybe something that you like. and that maybe will be your highlight of your day every day. Not to get off subject, but that's another thing,
Starting point is 00:28:51 is finding something to look forward to every single day is so important in the summer and in life in general, but for you and for many, many people, it's their daily coffee or their daily matcha. So find something to look forward to every day that makes you excited to get up and get your day started. Another one is take dedicated time on self-care. I want you to fully schedule out time for self-care.
Starting point is 00:29:26 care and not just look at doing your skincare or taking your shower as a chore, but literally, even if you need to put it in your calendar as your self-care time and not touching your phone, you can put on a podcast, put on music, light a candle, but take time for yourself and your self-care because I'm telling you that you're like a phone. You're like, it's like a phone charger. It's refueling your battery. It's charging you. And this is the best fuel and recharging you could get. Do your everything shower, put on music, use all of your favorite products, then do you maybe a face mask while you read your book, then do some skincare, guasha, do maybe a ice soaking or ice rolling on your face, and then maybe by the end of it, you want to put
Starting point is 00:30:10 your legs up on the wall for 15 minutes. That's literally my favorite thing to do at the end of the day because I feel like my, I just get like a lot of like heaviness in my leg after standing all day, but if you like put your back like laying down against your bed and then putting your legs up on the wall just having your legs like that it's great for digestion it can help you deep blow but it also is so good for circulation so i really recommend you try doing that after your shower because usually by the shower we are like wiped after our shower i cannot be the only one who sometimes gets so unbelievably tired after my shower where i'm practically seeing stars i feel like i'm just exhausted because because, you know, I'm exfoliating. I'm moisturizing. I'm scrubbing. I'm doing my hair. I'm doing it all. So
Starting point is 00:30:57 it's a workout. So afterwards, I really recommend you doing the legs up on the wall. It is so nice. Another thing, maybe a goal for you this summer, is find your signature fragrance. I love that. I feel like everyone should have a signature fragrance. For me, I don't have one signature one I use every single day. I love to have one where like time frames on my life. So maybe one year, fixate on a fragrance, but it's more like, okay, this summer, I'm picking a fragrance for the summer. And now, whenever I smell this years down the line, I'll always think of this summer, summer of 2025. I'll always think of that.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Now, another thing is, every morning when you wake up, go drink your water with your electrolytes in it. So maybe some coconut water and pink Himalayan salt, real salt, Celtic salt, add that in your water, add in any minerals you have. go outside and get some sun. Yes, the sun I would not recommend laying in all day and crisping up. That said, I know it's not good to lay out in the sun all day, but I do sometimes do that. And sometimes that is literally the pure happiness I need in the summer. So do it imbalance. But in the mornings, I really recommend the first thing you do before anything, get your water,
Starting point is 00:32:15 and then go outside, get some sunlight, and truly just spend time. without your phone, get some sunlight, and ground yourself. It's so good to ground yourself with the earth. Remember your point of life and where we are and just be present with yourself. It's almost like a way of just being peaceful and like meditating with yourself. But what I really recommend is go outside, get some sunlight and jump on a little trampoline or jump on the ground, the grass, whatever, for a few minutes. It is so good for your nervous system and it's so good to just wake your body up.
Starting point is 00:32:49 and for your lymphatic system. So go ground yourself, touch some grass, and remember your point of life. Another thing you could do this summer as a goal is start learning how to manifest more. Something that I have loved, and I've seen a lot of people love to do this, but again, I understand not everyone is a fan of chat GPT. And personally, I do not like chat GPT in the way it's replaced so many people with jobs. and I think that's so unbelievably disappointing. But some way that you can use chat GBT for helping you manifest is you can tell chat GBT to write a story about your life.
Starting point is 00:33:28 And with that, tell them a little about your current life. So maybe you could say, okay, write a story about me. I live in L.A. right now, but I want to live in Nantucket and blah, blah, blah, and just keep telling them what you want. and it will create a story of your current life turning into your dream life. And I'm telling you, I have done that so much for myself. And it just gets me so unbelievably expired. And it just feels so real.
Starting point is 00:33:57 It almost feels like you're reading a book about yourself, but it's turning into your dream life. So I really recommend you try that. And I'm telling you, you're going to love how it makes you feel like you can manifest that and it feels so real. And you can even tell them that maybe you want to move to a new city or find the love your life, become really successful in your job, any of that, just spill it out to chat JBT and it will write a story about you. Okay, another thing is morning slash evening check-ins. I think it is so
Starting point is 00:34:27 important for your mind, body, and soul to check in with yourself. This definitely helps you become a better person, a very healthy, happy, and, you know, more aware person of your blessings. and I think being aware of your blessings is very important. A five-minute journaling is great to do in the morning and the evening. I think it's a really great way to just ask yourself and check in with yourself what you're grateful for and everything. But you can also just do this on pen and paper without buying one of those journals. And I can even read to you what is in the five-minute journal prompt since I have it.
Starting point is 00:35:03 But every single morning you can ask yourself, what am I grateful for? Another question you would ask yourself is, what would make today great? And then lastly, you would put down your daily affirmation. And then in the evening, ask yourself, what was the highlight of my day? And then the next question you'd ask yourself is, what did I learn today? I think those are all great things in a great way to just be aware of yourself and your life. And it also is a great way to look back at notes in your life and see what were you up to all these years later down the line. But it's a great way without having to script out a ton of different things.
Starting point is 00:35:40 You can literally just write one sentence. That's why they call it the five-minute journal, because it only takes five minutes of your day. But anyways, I love that, and I really recommend doing that. Okay, and now another one is a moodboarding instead of scrolling or also magazines instead of TV. Don't get me wrong. I love a good scroll, and I love TV.
Starting point is 00:36:01 I watch it every single day. But I do think we should do a little more things in balance, and sometimes we think, gosh, think of how many hours of your life you spent scrolling, and I bet you can barely recall 10 videos you've scrolled on, literally. We have to think of things that are really more, you know, going to leave us with a memory. That's why I say go outside. That's why I say do activities, do things like that. But I've been loving to read magazines while eating dinner, and I just think it's so nice.
Starting point is 00:36:34 and also you can do that with a book, anything like that. So I really recommend trying to do something a little, you know, off phones, off screens when you can. Okay, another one is meditation. Personally, I'm not the best at meditation. I'm really bad at dialing in on peace with that and I get really sidetracked. But my therapist was saying how it's really good if you are someone who gets sidetracked when trying to meditate is do guided meditations and not free flow meditations because guided meditation. will help you kind of be walked through and not allow your mind to drift off. So maybe you can recommend trying that. Another thing is find a new hobby. Trial and error a ton this summer.
Starting point is 00:37:17 It is great to see what works, see what doesn't. It's literally like sticking, trying to throw something at the wall and seeing what sticks. But try different things out. Gardening, baking, pottery, DIY projects, ballet, anything. But make it. a goal to find something by the end of the summer that you end up sticking with that you love. Another thing is solo date. Try to have a solo date every Sunday, every week. Take yourself on a solo day to get out of your comfort zone. That could be maybe going to the farmer's market and brunch or doing a picnic and reading. Something that is going to make you have a memory with yourself and get yourself out of your comfort zone. Remember, do not wait on anyone else to do something
Starting point is 00:38:03 with you. If you're wanting to go strawberry picking but nobody wants to or people are busy, don't wait to have a friend go with you or to have your boyfriend go with you or to have a boyfriend to go with you. Go with yourself. You literally can do the same things you would with someone else and make it as fun doing it with yourself. Become your own best friend this summer. That is literally something that I really want you to try to work on. Another thing is start a new summer book. I posted a summer book call, like I said, over Reels. And if you want me to, I can send you the link to all my book recs for the summer. If you comment books on that book haul post, you'll see the post and just comment books and it'll send you the link. But anyways, find a new
Starting point is 00:38:49 summer book that just transports you into a new summer, like feeling. And it just makes you feel so, like, inspired after you read a summer book to like make your own summer like that. And that's what I love about reading summer books. Another thing is write out a new summer routine for yourself. Sometimes all you need is just pen and paper and sing it visually can make you so excited. Sometimes we have a new routine in our head, but we don't stick with it. So putting it on pen and paper, maybe get your cute pens out, write it in your planner, make it fun and make it interesting.
Starting point is 00:39:23 You can also do it over Notion, which is like on. online. I've never tried that before, but I'm going to try soon. And I heard it's a really fun way to create your own routine and calendar and you can make it cute. Another thing is challenge yourself to do the big three each week. Doing the big three once a week is literally essential. And the big three I made up. So it's one. Okay, so it's number one is see a friend every week. Seeing a friend every week can be an old friend, a new friend, but getting some social time is great because it's very easy to hibernate when we are at home in the summer and not doing maybe our regular schedule or regular routines if we used to be in school or used to be at work. Whatever it is,
Starting point is 00:40:20 try to see one friend a week for a coffee date, a little brunch, or going on a walk, any type of friend date. Number two is go on a solo date with yourself. Go try somewhere new, go experience a new thing. You know, you could go walk in a new museum that you've been saying by yourself. You could go take yourself to the farmer's market. You can go on vacation, a little solo vacation. Do something that is out of your comfort zone. Or it doesn't have to be out of your comfort zone necessarily, but your solo date can also just be having a movie night in with yourself.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Now number three is have an in-depth self-care reset day and a reset day on your home once a week. I think it is so important to have like a Sunday reset where you clean, do a really in-depth clean on your home and your room, and also for your personal self. Have a self-care reset day as well, which is so unbelievably important and is really good on just resetting for the week. These are all things that I'm doing for goals and intentions this summer. And I'm just so excited about what's yet to come.
Starting point is 00:41:29 And we're all working on becoming the best, happiest and healthiest version of herself this summer.
