Hello, my love. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley.
Over this show, we talk all about becoming the best version of yourself, living your dream life,
and loving yourself. So without further ado, let's get into today's episode. For the weekly
review, I took myself on a self-care date this weekend, and it was so unbelievably needed.
I woke up, had my electrolyte water, had a lymphatic drainage, which is basically a lymphatic massage,
that really helps just get rid of excess water retention.
And then I walked on the farmer's market, had myself an absolute perfect day.
Another thing this week is I have been swimming a lot and I am obsessed with swimming.
Okay, I usually will just lay out by the pool or never actually get in the water, but I have started getting in the water and it feels so good, so refreshing and it finally feels like summer.
And this is your reminder to do things alone because it feels like.
so divine to actually just have yourself a self-care date. Now and to my current obsessions. My
current obsessions at the moment is binge watching TV. I am just a binge watcher. I am all or nothing,
so if I don't like a show, the TV's off. But if I end up liking a show, I will watch the entire
season in one night. Right now, I'm specifically obsessed with summer themed shows. If you have
any recommendations, please send them my way. Another current obsession right now is headbands. I feel like
headbands are an essential hair accessory for the summer because it just holds your hair back from
getting all sweaty in your face and also just looks so unbelievably cute. And my last current obsession
at the moment is fresh fruit. I love nothing more than fresh fruit, especially ones that are
in season. Right now, I have been loving watermelon. I had yellow and orange water.
at the farmer's market the other day and it has to be the best watermelon I've ever tasted.
Now on to my goal of the week.
My current goal of the week right now is to start using my hatch alarm clock again.
I got my hatch alarm clock about a year ago and every single time I've used it, it just makes me wake up with my cortisol not blasting through the roofs and just allows myself to wake up very calmly and it's so relaxing.
but I just started using it again this week,
so I kind of want to get back into using it every single day as my alarm clock.
So if you have a hard time waking up from your alarm clock,

Another goal of the week is to swim once a day.
I realize how much swimming just makes my entire day anytime I just lay out by the pool,
take a little dip in the pool.
So doing it at least once a day I think is so essential.
And another goal of the week right now is to try a new cafe.
I heard there is a new cafe in Santa Monica that is a cafe where you can go get your drinks and everything per usual.
But then while you're working, throughout the day, they have like a 30 minute stop and meditate session.
And I'm like, what in the wellness is that?
That is exactly what I'm needing.
So I definitely want to try there soon.
Now on to the self-love question.
Your question is, what is your favorite thing to do in the summer?
Whatever it is, do it today.
I love that question so much and I think it is essential for the summer to do.
You sometimes think the summer is going to last forever and it doesn't.
So use up all your fun, exciting activities that you like to do in the summer right now.

in our year and this is going to be our best year yet even if you're thinking well jaden it's
already july it's halfway through the year there's you know it's not obviously my best year yet yes it can be
use every single bit of your days and your months and your weeks wisely and it can be your best year
yet now on to your challenge of the week do an unplanned activity one day this week to practice
going with the flow i love that so much because i feel like we are very tense
and we have everything planned.
Trust me, I am someone who plans out everything.
But I feel like I've been practicing this,
and it has been so nice and has brought me so much happiness,
and I really recommend you trying this.
But just going with the flow,
if you all of a sudden one day are like,
you know what, I'm going to go to the beach this morning.
That is great.
You should have sporadic activities
and unplanned activities done throughout your life
to bring that go with the flow joy.

So you're going to leave with so much motivation today. And let's get into being the best version of
ourselves right now. Today's episode is on daily healthy habits that will change your life.
And I don't mean just, you know, change your mood for the day, but seriously change your life.
And sharing these tips, maybe you've heard of none of these before. And these are all new.
tips for you or maybe you heard of many of these before but if you are someone who has heard of many
of these tips already they may have just gone past your head you don't realize that today has to be
the day that you actually take these tips and don't let them just pass by you i always say that
cliche things are known for a reason it just is whether you take it or not and before we get into
the episode i really just want you to take a second and to be with yourself
Acknowledge that you are the only person capable of creating the happiness you deserve and creating
your own dream life. No matter what you do or how hard you work or how much effort that you put in,
you will still have hard days and bumps in the road. So by having a great routine, having healthy
habits, yes, it is going to make a drastic difference in your life, but it's not going to give you
strictly happy days. You're going to have hard days and bumps in the road. Because
That is life. And in order for us to have good days, you need some bad days. And what I mean by that
is if we had all happy days, we'd never know what is a happy day. But if we had some bad days,
we would be able to appreciate the good ones. Same goes for success. You need to have some bumps in the
road to be able to succeed. So anytime an obstacle comes up, just remember this is normal and you
got this and you are on your road to success. But whatever your life looks like at the moment,
if you just began to even put a inkling, a tiny bit of effort, let me just say that is going to
make a difference because a little effort is better than no effort at all. And when it comes to
daily habits, it's so easy to procrastinate these things. But again, another reminder is that
procrastination is the thief of joy. You have to stop waiting for happiness to come to you
and create the happiness yourself.
It's like, you know the girls on Pinterest that you aspire to be like,
or your favorite creators, influencers, celebrities, anyone.
You know those girls that you just aspire to be.
And deep down, you know that they take care of themselves
and they do the best for themselves.
So why aren't you?
Because you deserve the exact same.
You deserve to become the best version of yourself
and you need to install healthy habits into your life to do this.
And I want a preference that none of these healthy habits are going to be an overnight key to success,
but rather being consistent.
Consistency adds up.
And also in your journey of adding in healthy habits into your life, you always have to put consistency over perfection.
Some healthy habits may work perfect for you and some may not work at all.
It's all about doing trial and error.
What works for your best friend may be the worst thing for you.
and what works for you may be the worst thing that would be for your mom.
We all work different.
So stop trying to compare yourself and compare your routines to somebody else.
Your daily habits should be personal to you.
And most of all, your daily habits should include things that cater to your mind, body, and soul.
You may know healthy habits or do some healthy habits yourself for your mind and body,
but then you forget about your soul.
You have to remember that each part of yourself needs to be catered to.
Even if you're like, well, my mental health is fine.
So I only need to cater to my physical part of myself, which is your body and your soul.
Let me just say this.
If all you focus on is your body and your soul, you're going to forget to fuel your mind.
Stop waiting for a problem to be able to fix it and start trying to prevent the problem from happening.
Prevention before the problem.
So let's talk about the healthy habits that you can incorporate into your daily routine that can truly change.
your life. Starting off, one of the best daily habits I have I have ever had is have a routine. You need
to have a routine for the morning routine, for a midday routine, for an evening routine, have routine
and structure in your life. Having structure will help you be more organized and in result
prevent stress and being disheffled. When you are organized and feeling confident knowing that
everything is in place, you are going to work with without so much stress and brain fog,
and I promise you this, routine is going to change your life.
Begin your mornings and end your days with healthy habits for your soul.
As I said, we're catering to our mind, body, and soul.
And something that I really always think is you should open the chapter of your day up
for your soul and end the chapter of your day with your soul.
Open your day with a soulful habit that could be waking up early.
It is so healthy for you to wake up early rather than sleep in, and if you have a hard time doing that, go to bed earlier because your morning routine always begins with your night routine.
Another healthy habit for that is read a few pages of a book in the morning before instantly going on your phone or you could journal.
Again, these are things for our soul.
Do affirmations in your head as you brush your teeth.
Do affirmations as you make your bed.
For your soul to make you happy, make your favorite drink in the morning.
That could be a matcha, a tea, a coffee, preferably decaf,
and while you drink your matcha, have some calm jazz music playing.
Or maybe it could be starting your day with calling your mom or your best friend.
Society makes us feel so obligated to get up and going the minute we wake up,
to get started on our work, to get started on everything,
and of course we want to have those productive days.
But in order to have that, we have to take care of our soul first.
I can't be the only one.

Okay, another healthy happy that you need to do in the morning
that I absolutely swear by is you need to wash your face with cold water in the morning
and then following that, ice roll your face.
If you don't have an ice roller, which you can get for only a few dollars from Amazon,
then use an ice cube,
especially if you're someone who wakes up really tired or with a puffy face in the morning,
this is going to be your lifesaver because it just wakes up.
wakes you up is an instant depuff for your face and just really gets you ready for your day.
Now, another healthy habit that is pretty generic but is so important, make your damn bed.
Why is a 30 second chore so hard for you?
I promise you making your bed taking those 15 to 30 seconds will get rid of that extra little
nagging chore in the back of your head and it will just feel complete then.
And if you truly have such a hard time trying to make your bed, put on your favorite song as you make your bed to do something and make it fun activity.
For your body, this is one of the best healthy habits, but as soon as you wake up, hydrate yourself.
You need to wake up, put some pink Himalayan salt or Celtic sea salt for electrolytes in your water, just a little dash sprinkle of salt in there, and have your water in the morning.
I can't imagine not having water as soon as I wake up.
It is something that is so good for you.
You haven't been hydrated all those hours,
so it's really good to replenish those electrolytes.
And another thing that you can do during the day is drink coconut water.
I personally love the coconut water from Trader Joe's,
but there are so many different types of coconut water that you can drink.
It's great for your electrolytes, and it tastes so good.
And I'm not the only one who swears by coconut water.
The Victoria's Secret model, Audraana Lima, swore by coconut water her entire time while doing the shows.
So get yourself hooked on coconut water.
Another thing is make yourself a healthy breakfast in the morning.
It is 2024.
We are not skipping breakfast every single day.
Begin having breakfast every single morning to fuel your mind, body, and soul, especially for your mind and body.
Eating breakfast in the morning is essential to fuel your mind.
and can really improve your energy for the day.
If you have a very busy morning and you can't make breakfast,
grab a banana and some cashews on the way.
Or if you think, oh, I have no time in the mornings to do anything for breakfast.
Then what you can do is make your overnight oats
or make your overnight chia seeds the night before,
so it's ready for you in the morning.
And if you're thinking overall,
I do not have any time for a routine or these healthy habits in the morning,
then you need to start waking up earlier and going to sleep earlier.
Begin having a better improved sleep routine and have your track where you can go to bed at a good hour
and wake up feeling refreshed, awake, and well rested to be able to wake up early and have your morning to do those healthy habits.
A really healthy habit to have when you're getting overwhelmed and just a thought pops in your head that you're stressed
or any negative thought that pops into your head.
begin to instantly center yourself and be present with yourself.
Don't allow yourself to give into a mind wandering up.
What if scenarios?
What if I don't pass the test?
What if things don't work out?
What if work doesn't go great today?
Listen, every single thing will be okay.
You are okay.
So center yourself.
Think positive because what you think you attract.
And I swear to you on that.
Another extremely healthy habit to have is be kind and generous to others.
As much as we need to do this to ourself in our daily lives,
and if you have been kind to yourself,
you know how much of a difference it makes when you are loving and kind and generous to yourself,
but make sure to do the conscious effort to be kind and generous for others.
Make it a habit to complement at least one person every single day.
I promise you, I compliment around two to five people every single day,
It is a natural habit in my head that I do.
If I see a girl wearing a cute shirt, I'll say, oh, I love your shirt.
I will just tell them.
If you think something positively about someone, say it, voice it.
Another really healthy habit to have, especially in the summertime, is start reading a book.
It is so good for your mind and your soul to have a book always on hand.
It truly is a great way to be able to detach from your phone and any stress that you have.
I just ordered the book three of the summer I turned pretty.
I'm not going to lie, I was the biggest hater of this show, of this book.
I was like, I will never read this.
This is probably a stupid, dumb show book.
Never going to read.
Never going to watch.
Tell me why I listened to two of the audio books within three days and then watched both of the seasons of the show within 48 hours.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I kind of got obsessed.
It was so good.
And honestly, it gave me so much inspo.
It made me feel like summer.
It made me feel like I want to go to the Hamptons.
It got me motivated to go out and enjoy my summer.
And I believe that books can give you a lot of inspo and creativity that you may be needing.
So I just ordered the third book that I'm actually going to read.
I'm going to take it outside to the pool, relax, and read and just enjoy my summer.
So if I'm going to do that for my mind and my soul, you should too.
So just get yourself a book to start reading that you can pick up at any time that feels like a form of enjoyment.
The best part about being an adult is you can go according to your own schedule, so if you want to eat ice cream for dinner, you can.

Another thing is take yourself on a date.
One of the best healthy habits
that you could ever have truly.
I have many episodes on taking yourself on a date,
but I have one dedicated episode on talking about that
if you need inspo.
But take yourself on a date.
It does not need to be a huge ordeal.
Go get lunch.
take it to the beach with a book or go take a pottery class with yourself.
Do something to connect with yourself and to be your own best friend.
You're your own best friend, remember?
And a healthy habit for your body is take your morning supplements.
It's so good to invest in good supplements, especially a good probiotic.
I am someone who struggles with lots of gut health issues and I swear this probiotic that I've been
taking truly has changed my life and I truly believe.
being consistent with your supplements can help you feel better in your overall body in your life.

Chef's Kiss, so good. Another healthy habit for your body is do 5,000 to 10,000 steps per day.
I know it's hard. I know it's longing, but I promise you, it makes you feel so good. And I also
believe it helps you get much better sleep when you do get more steps in. If you have a break
from work during the day, go take a little walk around the office.
Or if you have extra time in the evening, go take a walk with a friend.
Try to get as my steps in in your day as possible, and I promise you it's going to make you feel better.
Also add in 30 minutes of Pilates, yoga, exercise, any form of movement a few times a week.
It doesn't need to be high-intensity workouts.
I personally love doing some Pilates or I'll do some light weight training.
and that can be really helpful for your bones to feel stronger and to get more toned.
Another really healthy habit is to take care of your circulation and your heart health.
So something that I love to do personally is for both digestion and your circulation,
every single night before bed, lay on your bed for about 10 minutes with your feet up against the wall.
So your back is going to be on your bed and your feet and legs are going to be up against the wall.
and it really helps your circulation and your digestion.
For your soul, mind, actually for your mind, body, and soul, go out and get some sun.
Go touch some grass, go on a hike and connect with nature.
That can be such a good thing for you to remember that outside stressors, they do not matter.
They're temporary.
You're going to get through them.
But this is life.
Right here, the point of life is to enjoy nature, to enjoy life, and to enjoy your happiness.
Another essential habit is to make sure you get multiple servings a day of veggies.
And another reminder is do not restrict.
Of course, we are in 2024.
We are not going to go give in to diet culture.
We do not need to remove things from our diet, but instead add to our diet.
For your soul, when it comes to your evening skincare and self-care routine, take time with it.
Put on a podcast, maybe busy at pretty.
light a candle and drink a tea as you do your skin care.
Make it an actual event in the evening to enjoy that time with yourself.
Every night before bed, make it a habit to tidy up your space and also have a cell slash donate
pile.
Sometimes we find things that we don't need anymore or don't like, but we end up just keeping
it in our closet and in our space just because we have nowhere to put it or where to get
rid of it, but if you have a pile for donate or sell, it'll be easy for you to just let go of things
when you don't need them, and that will help you bring in more things. A really healthy habit that
I love to do for my soul is to create a Pinterest board of inspo goals and intentions every
week or month, specifically in the beginning of every week or month. Try to make a Pinterest board
that really can get you that motivation that you need for the month ahead. Any instance,
any goals, any intentions.
