Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jane and Haley.
Guys, today this episode is going to be so good. I can just feel it. I'm very excited. I am beyond
passionate about this topic. So I just get really into it when I'm passionate about a specific topic.
And this is going to be a good one. So I'm very excited about today's episode. So let's get straight into
today's weekly review. So this week, I've been trying to press.
prioritize working in different spaces. I think working in different areas and places and cafes and all of that
can allow you to be more productive rather than being burnt out working in the same place.
And I know that if you work from home or do freelance or self-employed, you'd know that can be really
hard staying in the same place. So if you're able to, I really recommend trying to switch up the
area you do your work in because it can really allow you to be more productive.
and dial in. So that's what I've been doing this week. Another fun thing to do is have a little work
dates. I have been meeting up with my friends and it's been so nice. We go to Airwan or little cafes
and just work outside because it allows us to really just dial in on work and it's always nice to
like check in with someone. So I am doing that lately a lot and I really recommend you guys do as well.
Another thing I've been doing this week is prioritizing sleep with adjusting my schedule.
Something that I've been really doing right now is going to bed pretty late because I've been working on things.
And you know when those nights where you have a lot of work to do and you end up being awake until like 3 a.m.
So that's been me lately.
And I just have been allowing myself to sleep in if I do have those nights rather than wake up at 5 a.m.
and run on a two hour day of sleep.
Obviously, I'm going to get tired and I'm not going to be as productive.
So if you go to bed late and still want to wake up and have a productive day, it's better to sleep in and have a productive day from there than waking up really early and just dragging along not being able to accomplish anything.
So I've learned that the hard way and really have found it to be important to catch up on sleep, even if that means sleeping in late, because in the end, you will be more productive.
Another thing this week is I've been really consistent posting over my socials.
And I have gathered more of an audience.

And I'm so happy to have you here.
It's been really nice because I've been really consistent posting my socials and I've been getting more of an audience.

So I also have been loving the content I've been putting out.
So it's a win-win, honestly.
Okay, lastly this week, I've been just really excited about new opportunities to come.
I am someone who always is so excited for the future.
Of course, I live in the present, but as well as having to be excited about the future and everything to come.
So I've just been really excited thinking about all there is to come in the new year, and it just is so exciting.
Now on to our current obsessions.
So my current obsession is arugula.
Why do I love arugula?
I could not tell you.
I don't know, but I am obsessed,
and I literally have been having it with every meal.
I love it.
But I've had to stop.
I've tried to make myself not have it today,
so for health reasons, I don't eat too much arugula,
but it is so beyond good, I love it.
Another crab session is working without multiple breaks
and not being distracted.
That is something that I've been really trying to work on
and obsessed with because I feel like this,
past few months. I've been such like a work slump right now. And this month has just been so great.
I really just picked it back up. And I have just been being actually productive rather than
looking at the clock waiting for it to be lunchtime so I can not do work. Because it's just been
so nice to actually dial in. And I feel like I'm really proud of myself for being productive
and realizing that because we love excuses. And that's what I've realized is.
I used to make a lot of excuses so I wouldn't have to actually do what I need to do.
So holding yourself accountable for it is so important.
And you'll be so proud of yourself when you actually see results of going through with your plan.
It's been really nice to actually be really productive and not take constant breaks or be distracted.
Another current obsession is work dates.
As I said, I've been loving some little work dates.
It's helped me be productive as well.
another thing is sitting in silence, which I know sounds really weird, but I promise you
you cannot judge until you try it or actually until you like it because not everyone will
probably like it right away.
But I promise you, it's really nice to just like detox your mind off of everything.
You're not looking at your phone.
You're not listening to music.
You're not listening to even a podcast.
But just sitting in silence can really allow you to gather your own thoughts and almost
form new ideas and form new thoughts and it will allow you to appreciate the world so much better
because like for instance when I eat breakfast, I'll have it silent and literally just look outside.
And that is enough entertainment for me.
And if you're not able to sit in silence and do nothing for at least five minutes,
you are too addicted to your phone or too addicted to music or something where I think
it's really nice to just not be occupied and have time to just think in your own thoughts.
So I have been loving that.
Another thing that I've been loving is Valentine's decor.
I'm so obsessed with it.
It's definitely my current obsession.
And I decorated my apartment.
And it's so cute with little pink decor.
And I'm such a pink girl.
So this is when I really allow myself to shine through with my pink decorations.
I used to be a hater Valentine's Day.
And then I absolutely loved it when I was in a relationship.
and you would think out of a relationship, I wouldn't like Valentine's Day, but no, I literally
love it because I'm already thinking, how am I going to take myself on a day?
I love spending time with myself.
So Valentine's Day, you know what?
It is the best time to provide that love and self-care for yourself.
So if you don't have any Valentine's Day plans, I already know what your plans are.

episodes yet and I'm so excited. And it's definitely on theme for Valentine's Day, specifically
for the ones who are not in a relationship. But you know what? If you are in a relationship,

guys, moving on to my goal of the week. So my goal of the week is to get my sleep schedule back on track.
As I said, I've been having some late nights working and it's been so nice to, you know,
know, be productive, but it's also really nice to wake up and see the sunrise. And that's what I love.
I love, love, love seeing the sunrise. So that is something I want to get back on track so I can start
meditating right in the morning again. Another goal of the week is to brainstorm some birthday
ideas and plans. My birthday is next month, which is March 17th on St. Patrick's Day. And you know what?
I know St. Patrick's Day is a national holiday. But you know,
what, Jaden's birthday is a national holiday. So March 17th is Jaden's birthday, not St. Patrick's Day.
St. Patrick's Day is canceled. It's Jaden's day. But yeah, so I'm trying to figure out what I want
to do for my birthday. A fun little trip sounds nice, but you know, maybe we'll stay home. We'll figure
it out. But something exciting, trying to brainstorm my Instagram photos. We love a big deal out of
Instagram birthday photos, of course.
I'm very excited for my birthday and I'll be turning 20.
Wow, that's crazy.
I'm not a teen anymore.
I like to enjoy my time as a teen, but she's coming to an end.
Okay, next up for my goal of the week is Wi-Fi.
And Wi-Fi, what I mean by that is I want to figure out how to limit the amount of Wi-Fi that's flying around my head because I am on my phone and my computer and everything.
really often so I really want to start looking into how I can be safer with radiation and everything
and that's been on my mind so I really want to figure out how to turn my Wi-Fi off and you know
kind of limit the radiation levels but that is another gold week and lastly I want to
organize a closet clean out because closet cleanouts can be so nice and just so rewarding when you
have more space and I realized there was a problem when I had not one hand.
hangar left. Moving on to a self-love question to ask yourself, have I been neglecting self-care lately?
If so, take action today. I love that so much because sometimes we can be caught up with work or
school and forget about self-care, which is so important and that really refueles our mind for
work in school. So I really recommend you take time to take action and incorporating self-care
into your routine if you have been neglecting it lately. Now, moving.

So I'm very excited to get into it.
But before we do, let's get into our quote of the week.
So the quote of this week is,

I love that quote so much.
I literally used to have that as my screensaver because it's so true.
Do not let the person at school or,
at your work or your family member or your friend.
Well, actually not really your friend if they say this,
but someone tell you that you cannot do something
because I promise you, you can.
A little example.
The founder of Ring Doorbell,
which is very famous, obviously,
went to Shark Tank in the very beginning of his career.
And they all said no and said his product was not worth the amount he felt it was.
And the company then ended up being,
I think it was $400 million.
worth. So let me just say if someone tells you it doesn't even matter how successful they are or how
unsuccessful they are. If someone tells you you cannot do something, I promise you, you can't.
Do not listen to them. Now moving on to our weekly challenge. If you are a coffee drinker and

to today's episode. Today's episode is on doing it because I love myself and I can just feel
me getting amped up for this episode and ready to talk to you guys and get in your ear. I'm ready
to get in your ear because it's time for you to shape up. Okay. I don't have time for this. I need you
guys to be happy in life. If you're not, then so be it. Fine. Then you don't have to listen to
my advice. I'm genuinely wanting you guys to live your dream life and become the person you want to be.
So number one thing is you need to switch the approach on everything in your life. I mean everything,
okay? We easily see working hard or eating healthy, time for self-care or working out as a chore
and or a demand or a dread rather than actually thinking of what it is. Think about everything I just
listed. Think about all those things I just listed off and every single one of those things that I
listed are things that will do nothing but benefit you. Did I say it was easy? No, I didn't say it was
easy. It's hard. It may be harder than taking the easy way out and making excuses, eating junk food,
not scheduling time for self-care, never working out, laying in bed all day. Yeah, doing those things
obviously take more work and effort than taking the easy way out and not doing it. Something I
realize is that we really naturally tend to make up excuses for ourselves and progress today and
just not take action. We prolong things just so we don't have to do it. Why? It's because we get lazy.
We don't want to put in the work and it just feels negative. It's literally so easy. Think about how
easy this is. So easy to pick up your phone right now and just scroll for hours, avoid your homework,
eat tons of junk food, rather than putting in the effort of putting your phone down, doing your
homework and eating healthy, fulfilling meals. I used to view so much in life as a chore and negative.
For instance, thinking of workouts, I thought of it negatively because I thought I need to work out
to look better. I have to do homework because I don't want to get in trouble. Doing my skincare
routine because I don't want to have bad skin. Did you hear the keywords? Don't need. Those are
all negative, okay? Or have to. I have to do this because those are what is stopping you.
Today, we're going to switch our mindset to the keywords want to. Think about this right now,
okay? We are so lucky and fortunate to have the ability and opportunity to achieve and to do things.
Whenever I am in a slump and I'm just like, I don't want to do anything. I don't want to work.
I just want to lay in bed. Whenever I get those feelings, I privilege check myself. Okay.
I reflect and I look at the privilege I have and I'm like, oh my gosh, are you kidding me?
Someone who is physically unable to work out would die to have the opportunity to go to Pilates right now.
Someone who is not able to go to school would do anything to be in the position to do homework right now.
Someone who is not able to get a job would do anything to have the job I have right now.
Cleaning your room can feel like a task and a chore, of course, because, you know, not
Everyone loves cleaning and it's definitely not the funnest thing to do.
So, of course, you may procrastinate it and make excuses for yourself.
Instead, I want you to stop and think ahead of the results.
If you put in this action, what are the results?
Do you want those results?
Because if you do, you have to put in the action.
There is a middleman between the results you want and you.
And that's action, okay?
You're not going to get the results you want without taking action.
And that's just the truth, okay?
what are you waiting for? I'm not sure if you're waiting for someone to do it for you because
let me just tell you they're not. No one's going to do it for you. It's you, yourself, and you.
I have to think, okay, wait, no one's going to do this for me. So who's going to do it? Me, myself,
and I, okay? That's the only person who's going to do it. You need to think to yourself in all
situations. Would I be happy with myself after doing this task? If the answer is yes, then do it.
drop the excuses and do it because you love yourself.
I don't know what to tell you guys.
Like, if you're not going to do it, then don't, then don't accept it.
You're going to be in the same place as you are.
But if you want those amazing results and to live your dream life, guess what the first
step is?
Taking action.
You are doing such a disgrace to yourself by not providing the proper care and proper
discipline to yourself.
I love and respect myself so much, which is why I take action.
Why do you think I have my dream life?
life because I took action. You know, at one point I was sitting in my room in an indifferent
city crying, hated school. Guess where I am now? I'm in the city that I've always dreamed of
living in my dream apartment living my dream life. This is the result of what I've been wanting
years ago. And guess why I got here? Because I took action. And when I say doing it because you
love yourself, this also applies to social situations. You may not be the party type of girl.
okay and that's totally fine i personally am not someone who loves parties and i like to more stay home
and you know have my nights in and if you're not a party type of person if your friends ask you to go party
or go out to the club with them but you don't want to are you going to be a people pleaser and say yes
no you're not you're going to speak your opinion confidently and you're going to say no because you love
and you respect yourself do you know how many times i've been asked to parties and clubs and personally
it's not my thing. So I say no. I don't care if I look like I'm boring to them. I don't care.
I don't care if I look unfun. I care about respecting myself. I respect myself so much that I will say
no. I could have easily said yes and been a people pleaser and disrespected myself. I could
have easily have done that. But no, I respected my wishes and I honor them. Another example is
talking about boys and men. If you have a crush on a guy or like a guy and he,
he only wants to hook up with you, but you're looking for a long-term relationship and not just a hook-up,
you right there are clearly able to see his intentions and they are not the same as yours.
It doesn't mean his wants or wrong, but they're not for you, okay?
If he only wants to hook up and you want a long-term relationship, you guys have separate intentions.
Stop being blind to it.
He literally told you what he wants.
There's nothing else going to come out of that.
And again, let's say you have the biggest crush on him, but you are not looking for a
one night stand, you love yourself so much that you're going to say no. Don't tell me you're going to
say yes to a one night stand knowing that you want a long-term relationship. He does not have the same
wants as you do. So let it be, okay? You're not going to just say yes to him be a people pleaser.
You're going to say N-O, okay, especially to men. You're going to say, no. I get so heated in
these episodes. Like I get like so passionate about it. Trust me, I want you guys to live your
dream life. Like when I receive messages in paragraphs saying how much you guys have had your guys's
life changed from this podcast in our living your dream life now, that's what I want. That's all I want.
I'm not asking anything of you guys but to have a good life. And I promise you, I've been to a point
in my life where I never thought I was going to have a good life. Okay. I was so sad. I had an eating
disorder. I was getting physically bullied at school. I was so, so sad in my life.
And guess what? I live my dream life.
Okay?
It's all about doing things because you love yourself.
You have to take action on things because you love yourself.
Whether the action is saying no or doing something.
Since having that mindset of taking action because I love myself has evolved me into the most productive, happiest person in the best version of myself.
I don't have a healthier diet because I don't like what I look like.
I have a healthier diet because I wanted to give you.
care of myself, stay internally healthy, and live long.
You have to put yourself on a pedestal.
And I will always say this.
I've said this for so long.
I actually was on FaceTime with my mom last night.
She told me how a few years ago, I was walking outside with her, and I can briefly remember
this.
But she told me last night that she remembers the day where I made the decision that I was
not going to put people on a pedestal anymore.
And I was going to put myself on a pedestal.
Because they always would put people on a pedestal.
I'd people please.
I would allow people to be rude to me.
I would just allow things that weren't good, okay?
I would allow things from people, or I would think of people way better than me, or I would think
of them, oh, I could never be at that place.
I could never live that lifestyle.
I was putting them on a pedestal.
And that day, I just decided.
And she said, from that day, you have never gone back.
And that touched my heart because I was like, oh, my gosh, you're right.
One day, I just decided I'm not going to put people on a pedestal.
I'm not going to put opportunities on a pedestal.
I'm not going to put things on a pedestal.
Everything is in my hands, okay?
If I want to live that lifestyle, I will.
If I want to be a happier person, I will.
If I want to manifest that dream place, I will.
You have to just realize, stop putting things on a pedestal and make it a reality to your existence and you will receive that.
If you think things are untouchable or things are unrealistic or putting anyone on a pedestal,
take those things off the pedestal and put yourself on the pedestal and realize everything is achievable.
Nobody is better than you.
And we are all the same.
We are all humans at the end of the day.
Okay.
Just like your favorite celebrity and idol or business person, they started from the beginning.
They idolize someone at some point.
And now you're idolizing them.
Instead, you can take inspo from someone.
That's great.
But realize they are no better than you.
You have the same amount of worth as that person.
So it's time to bring them on.
off the pedestal, bring that opportunity that you want off the pedestal, bring that dream
house off the pedestal, bring everything off the pedestal. Put yourself on it and realize everything
is easy to get to. Everything's achievable. And another thing you can think of is think about your
crush or your celebrity crush. What would you do to impress them? You would want to provide for them.
You'd want to provide for them what they're wanting. So why not do that for yourself?
Begin training yourself as you would to the person you look up to.

You have to stop viewing homework as a form of a chore.
Yes, I know it's not fun.
I completely understand that.
I can remember, since I'm actually not in school,
but I can remember being in school and absolutely dreading it.
But I promise you, you are doing it because it's benefit.
What is homework going to do if you finish it? It benefits you, okay? If you don't do it,
it doesn't benefit you. What is working out do? It benefits you. What does cleaning your room do?
It benefits you. Think about this. Everything that you're dreading and every chore that you have

because if you start thinking about that quote whenever you want to have excuses for yourself
or procrastinate things, it's going to help you be like, oh, I remember, I have to go do this
because I love myself. When you start changing your mindset and doing things because you love yourself,
not because you hate yourself, you're going to be such a happier person.
For instance, when I wake up and I'm like, I really don't want to work out, I have to work out.
I don't have to. No one's forcing me to do anything, okay? I'm doing it because why?
I'm going to make myself want to work out because what do I want?
I want good health and I want to feel good.
So in order for me to do that, I don't have to work out, but I want to work out.
So start thinking of everything differently.
You have to.
Or you're just going to stay the same place.
And I'm saying this out of love because I get in those positions sometimes too where I'm just like,
it'd just be easier if I don't do this.
Yeah, it's obviously easier not to put the work in or the effort in.
But you know what?
I'm going to stay the same.
I'm not going to achieve my goals.
I'm not going to be at the place I want.
Why do you think I go take a little time for self-care, doing my skincare routine, doing
lymphatic drainage, and guashing or like an hour before bed?
Yeah, I wish I was on my phone.
You know, I love skincare, but I do wish I was on my phone instead.
But you know what?
I'm doing it because I love myself.
I love the results that I have when I do that.
And I love the feeling of taking care for myself.
I want to do it.
Nobody's here for you. Nobody's going to do it for you. Do not expect your family member or your
friend or your teacher or your roommate to do the work for you because no one's going to do it.
I'm sorry, everyone is out for themselves. And let me just say if someone can barely provide
enough of themselves, how are they going to provide for you? Don't rely on your significant other
to get you to get to. No, you have to do it on your own. We're all looking out for ourselves. Of course,
we look out for other people, but we all need to stay in our own lane and of course support each
other. Support and love is such a big thing. Support someone else. Give love to someone else. But remember,
no one's going to do what you need to do to get to the places you want to be. So if you want to be
at a certain place in your life, you have to take action. And let's say maybe you're like, well,
I want this, but I don't love myself. Okay, well, it's time to work on some self-love.
Self-care and self-love is what you need most of all in this world. I have episodes. I have episodes.

But I'm just trying to tell you guys that you are easily, easily able to live your dream
life and become as happy as you want to be and have everything you want in your life
and have the friends you want and have the opportunities you want and everything.
If you put your mind to it, again, there's only one thing between you and that life.
And it's taking action.
Action.
That's the middleman.
I'm not even kidding.
It's the one thing.
you have to take action.
It's not going to happen overnight and you have to accept that.
If you fail because of one thing, it's because that plan wasn't meant to be.
If one plan doesn't work out, then change the plan.
Never change the goal.
Stay at your goal, okay?
Keep your eye on the goal for everything in life, whether that's school, career, lifestyle,
your house, your friends, your family, your significant other, whatever your goal is,
whatever the results are that you're wanting, do not change it because I promise you.
nothing is unrealistic.
I actually think about this when I was younger,
and I'm like, wow, it's a dream to live the lifestyle that I actually live now.
A few years ago, one day I just was like, yeah, you know what?
I'm not putting anything on a pedestal.
And I can live my dream life.
Guess what?
I'm living my dream life.
Yeah, it took a few years to get here, but it doesn't matter.
I've still got here.
Things don't happen overnight and you have to realize that.
You just have to do things because you love yourself.
I love myself so much that, you know what, no matter what happens, I'm going to stick to my goal,
I'm going to be there for myself, I'm going to love myself, I'm going to properly provide and take care of myself.
I'm not going to rely on someone else. I'm not going to be codependent. I'm doing this because I'm doing it for me and me only.
And I love myself. Stop everything you're doing in your mind to think of things as chores or excuses or procrastinating or putting people on a pedestal.
do it because you love yourself.
