Hello, my love. Welcome to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. What a week this has been. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I've been dealing with a little medical hiccup this past week. I'm currently still bedridden. I feel like I've not been able to do anything without the worst pain. And even if I don't move or anything, I feel like my brain and the inside of my head is being electrocuted. It has been the worst pain. And even if I don't move or anything, I feel like my brain and the inside of my head is being electrocuted. It has been the worst pain. It has been the worst pain. And even. And even if I don't move. And even
It started a few days ago.
Sorry to just throw this on you.
But I've heard quite a bit of you guys reply to my story saying that you have this exact same thing.
So I kind of want to maybe help you guys out if you have this as well.
But it turns out after the MRI and after lots of doctor appointments that I have occipital neuralgia most likely.
And it's basically technic.
I'm like, that's honestly just such a wake-up call for me to get off my phone.
and stop being on my phone and computer so much.
But this is your sign to not be fully attached to your computer or phone for work or school or whatever,
especially doom scrolling.
And try to be aware of your muscles, relaxing your muscles,
because you can end up with like a pinched nerve or occipital neuralgia.
I think that's how you say it.
But what I have.
So remind yourself to just relax your muscles and,
I feel like I always say this, but when you just go throughout life, it feels like you have a million
problems, but the minute you have a health problem, you have one.
So that just goes to show how important it is to take care of you, take care of your health,
because your health is truly the number one thing that matters.
And I just want you to really do prevention before the problem, because things can turn into
something if you don't take care of yourself.
But enough about me, let's get into what we're going to talk about today.
Today's episode is on energy givers and energy drainers.
And I feel like throughout life, it's very hard to sometimes tell what is an energy
giver or energy drainer.
And I feel like energy givers and drainers come in all different factors of life,
from friendships, social media, school, career, work, feeling unorganized, everything.
So I think it's really good to look at our.
routines and look at what we consume in our daily life and reflect a bit and see what is truly
an energy giver versus a drainer personally because something that is an energy drainer to me
may be an energy giver to you. So it's good to see what personally works for you and what
you find to be your own personal givers and drainers. That said, we're going to get lots into
this episode today and it's also going to leave you with a lot of helpful tips of
knowing what may be energy drainers to you and how to detach from them, as well as what are good
energy drainers to incorporate into your life. Let's get into our weekly review. So this week,
as I said, I've been dealing with occipital neuralgia. And if you struggle with this,
please let me know. And I would love to know what helps you when you have a flare up. And another
thing this week is I'm just really trying to obviously take things slow and I feel like again
when you have a health scare it's the biggest wake up call so this is your reminder that you don't
want to die working you want to work and work towards what you want but enjoy the process and
enjoy life and that's something I'm really trying to live by and another thing this week is of course
I've been trying to figure out my energy givers because figuring out your energy givers are just as
important it is to figure out your energy drainers and I've been really reflecting and trying to
incorporate that more into my life. Now into my current obsessions. My current obsession at the moment
is coconut matcha. If you have not made match or coffee with coconut milk before, I beg you to try.
It is just so good. Some days I wake up wanting a really thin latte and then the next day I'm
wanting the thickest, creamiest latte.
And I promise you, if you like a creamy latte, you're going to love the coconut milk.
Another current obsession at the moment is my new supplement routine.
I'm really trying to prioritize my supplements because I feel like I haven't taken supplements
as often the past few months.
And it just really does go to show when you aren't as consistent with your routines or
your supplement routine.
It can just make you feel more not attended to.
so try to figure out what supplements you need and works best for you and try to incorporate it more
into your morning routine. And my last current obsession at the moment is my ultra human ring.
It's basically like an aura ring, but I think it's like the more affordable aura ring,
which is called the ultra human ring. That's what I have. I love it. I feel like it just gives the
perfect basic necessities. It tells you like your resting heart rate, your steps. And, um,
Your temperature, which I think is really important when it comes to your cycle, it helps you cycle sync.
And I honestly just love it.
So if you want an affordable aura ring, I definitely would say to look into the ultrahuman ring.
I am honestly a fan.
And when it comes to my goal of the week, my goal of the week right now is to be in bed by 930.
But honestly, I feel like I've been going to bed really early lately.
So I have been achieving that goal.
But in general, I think it's so good to rest and refurb.
fuel because let's be honest, sleep is one of the best energy givers you could have. And another goal of
the week right now is to cook more meals at home. I would say I'm pretty good at cooking meals at home.
I don't eat out too much, but it is really easy to eat out and get a quick little bite and
then use like the leftovers as other meals. So okay, wait, something I do love doing though is I don't
know if anyone else does this, but when you go somewhere and you have your leftovers, you
add it to another meal that you're making at home.
Like, I love nothing more than having a very, like, flavorful leftovers of, like, pasta
and then making, like, zucchini or a salad or something and adding it to that.
And then it just makes it, like, home cook slash leftovers.
And I don't know.
I love it.
And I always love doing it.
And my last goal of the week, which has inspired me due to what I'm going through right now,
but is to schedule better work hours.
and if this is you who maybe works for yourself or works from home, I really encourage you do that
as well because scheduling work hours is so important. It is so easy to work past hours that we
try to set for ourselves, but it is so necessary for you to really follow the set hours that
you make for yourself because you have to treat it like a nine to five if you're someone
who doesn't work a nine to five because you're just going to keep working overtime and you don't
want to be at 2 a.m. in your bed working on your computer like me when it's not needed,
even though it feels like it is, it's really not good for your health and you need to take your
health as your number one priority. I always try to think of this. Try to do the things and
incorporate the things in your routine to prevent you hitting rock bottom. It is so easy to be like,
I feel like I'm in a rut and then you keep doing things to make you feel like you're in a rut and you're in a
slump and then all of a sudden you are so extremely low and you feel awful you feel like you can't get
out of this rather than doing things where you know maybe you feel like you're getting into a slump
but you're doing things in your routine to help get you out of that slowly rather than just
hitting rock bottom now on to the self-love question your question of the day is what will i do today
to work as an energy giver to my mood i love that so much because an energy giver
come in all different forms. It can be physical things that are going to physically give you energy
and most of all mentally in your mood. So what can you do today to help you mood-wise be as an energy
giver? Now on to your affirmation of the week. I am happy and healthy, which is the biggest
blessing. I love that affirmation so much because that is so simple, yet sometimes the most
generic, basic things such as being happy and healthy, is,
the biggest blessings. And it's hard when we look past it because we're always looking for the
next thing. And I definitely want to do an episode on this soon, which is to live in the present,
not jump so far ahead. But this is your sign to really just remember how being healthy and happy
is truly such a priceless pleasure to have. Now onto the challenge of the week. Hug yourself today.
Again, I love that. It's so classic, basic, but it can be such a sweet thing that you do for.
for yourself. Now on to the podcast review. If you want to be featured on next week's episode,
make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts and leave a rating over Spotify. This review is
from Laney and Laney said, perfect for manifestation, wellness, and personal development girlies.
Laney, thank you so much for your kind review and I'm so grateful for you listening and I hope you're
enjoying the show. Now without further ado, let's get into today's episode, which is on Energy,
drainers and most of all energy givers. It's important to dissect and just take a look at all the factors
in life. And let me just preface this. There's of course no doubt that we have energy drainers in
sections of our life that we literally cannot avoid. And those unavoidable energy drainers can be
work, school. It can be of course you love your kids, but it could be your kids running around.
It could be a lot of different things and aspects in your life. Responsibility.
that you have to do that drain your energy, but you have to do it.
But when having energy drainers, that's why it's so important to have energy givers,
because when you have energy givers, it outweighs the drainers that take place in your life.
And that's why we can remove what we can that doesn't serve us if we're able to and add what you
can because that's going to help by having a lot of positive things in your life that outweighs those.
When it comes to energy drainers, we don't need to fully just strip and cut out all these things from our life.
We can slowly just decrease them and slowly cut out what doesn't serve you, but you don't have to fully strip it out of your life.
This is specifically aimed towards people, what I mean, because you're going to have people in your life that, you know, you don't love and you finally realize they are maybe, in this case, an energy drainer.
and you can begin to slowly distance yourself from this person to prevent you not hurting their feelings.
And it also is going to cause them to realize if you're just cutting them out completely and following them,
blocking them or seriously avoiding them.
And when we get into the definition of what an energy drainer really is, it's whatever leaves you absolutely drained, per the name.
And it can also leave you questioning yourself or feeling bad about yourself.
So again, this is kind of making you aim towards a person, but let's say you hang out with someone
and they make you feel bad about yourself or kind of poke a lot of jokes at you or make fun of you
or maybe you scroll on social media and then you just are feeling very discouraged afterwards.
Anything that typically leaves you questioning yourself or feeling bad about you and yourself
is an energy drainer.
So some typical energy drainers, and you're going to hear the word energy and drainers and
give us a lot in this episode.
But some typical ones can be friends or family.
You often feel bad about yourself.
Maybe they put you down or maybe every time you hang out with this person, they're always
talking bad about someone else or like gossiping.
And sometimes when you're around people who just gossip about someone nonstop, it just makes
you feel so dirty.
I will be around some grown adults and it just amazes me to see how many people just want to constantly
have people's name in their mouth.
Like, that person isn't there to defend themselves.
And also, why would you want to give your time by negatively talking about someone else?
It just doesn't make sense to me.
But it can feel dirty when people are talking negatively about someone, even if you're not
partaking in the conversation, but they're just yapping.
you're just like yeah yeah totally it just can make you feel negative and down after hearing all of that
also another thing that can be an energy drainer is when you're with someone and they're constantly
spilling their life trauma or problems on you and do not get me wrong it is very important
and great to have a person to confide how you feel and tell your feelings with because that is
so helpful and can be really helpful for your mental health but when
it comes to being able to spill all that on someone, you need to be able to be in a very stable
and available space mentally to allow someone else to just spill all their problems and trauma
on you because you're going through your own things and it's hard as yourself to even go through
things what you're going through and what you go through in your day to day, whatever you're
experiencing. And then when someone just dumps even more on you with their
trauma, sometimes you just don't have the mental capacity and that's okay. One of the best things to do
is just be an ear for someone and hear them out, but it's also okay if this point in time,
you don't have that current mental capacity to take on hearing that at that moment. And sometimes
people don't realize how their problem dumping is affecting you. That's where, of course,
therapy is great for you, your friend, anyone, anyone who has things they want to vent about.
That's why there are actually trained people who will talk to you about your problems,
but you can't take on everyone's problems.
And it can also really start to just affect you how you feel, how you see your own problems
when you're constantly being the therapist for other people.
So there's nothing wrong with telling someone, hey, I'm so sorry, I wish I could help you
with this, but I don't have the mental capacity at this moment to support you with this.
And if they are someone who truly loves you and values their friendship or relationship to you,
they will understand and find a different way to get their problems out to somebody else.
It's also such a respectful rule of thumb, even for your own self.
If you ever want to talk about your own problems to somebody, you could,
this is a great rule of thumb to have, but you could even ask someone, do you have the mental
capacity to take on what I'm about to say right now or can I vent to you and honestly if you're
going through a lot yourself no worries I don't have to because a lot of times I will have a friend
reach out or someone reach out and be like hey are you busy and available to talk about something
I'm going through and most often yes I'm more than happy to support just because I love to feel
supported myself but maybe I'm super busy or going through something myself
and not able to take that on, I just would respectfully tell them, you know what?
I would absolutely love to help you right now, but I can't at this moment.
I'm really sorry, but please let me know if you're doing okay.
Kind of went off on a tangent on that energy drainer.
But anyways, I think you get the point.
Now when it comes to social media, social media, I swear, can be the biggest energy
drainer of all time, but it can also be the biggest energy giver of all time.
I think social media just really needs to be used mindfully and with caution because you can easily find yourself down the wrong rabbit hole.
And it's very easy to see one video and you accidentally watch it too long or engage with it.
And then all of a sudden, your entire feed is that.
Of course, an energy drainer is going to be doom scrolling and following people for the wrong intentions.
And what I mean by that is maybe you see someone on your free you page who has a really nice,
body in your opinion. So you follow them for that or their face or their lifestyle, whatever it is.
And maybe you begin comparing yourself. When you begin comparing yourself, that is going to halt
your mental health and just set you back. So you need to unfollow as hard as it is because you want
to consume that content. When you watch it, it makes you feel good because you want that. But at the
same time, it's making you feel bad about yourself. So if you find yourself comparing yourself to
anybody, whether that be for your body, face, lifestyle, whatever, just unfollow.
You don't need to see it and you need to just cater to what you need in life.
You know deep down, if it's right or wrong for you when you follow someone.
So try to curate your feed to what is right for you.
And when it comes to doom scrolling, again, you don't need to, of course, remove it from your
life fully.
We all doom scroll at some point in time throughout the week, the day.
the month and it can be just so exhausting on the mind, body, and soul when you're doomscrolling,
again, the wrong content. And it's fun in the moment, but you never necessarily feel
rejuvenated after you doomscroll. So at least try to plan out your doom scroll times where
maybe you're like, today, all I want to do is just lay in bed and doomscroll because you've finished
everything else and you've set out aside of your personal time. You've done all that. And now it's time for you to do
this. That's fine, but try to portion it out, like I said. And again, create a for you page and feed
that is catered to you and what's right for you and get to make you feel good afterwards. Or even better
instead of doom scrolling over social media. I guess this is social media too, but I feel like I just
classify it as not social media because it just doesn't have the same like effect of social media,
in my opinion, but Pinterest. Go on Pinterest and it's more tailored to your hobbies,
your dreams, your dream house, your dream life. And to me, that is just so much more of an energy
giver than being on social media. Also, I feel like even just going a scroll on Pinterest is such
an energy giver that it's more of an energy giver than any type of caffeine or anything.
Sometimes throughout the day I just feel in a slump or unmotivated. I will literally just go to
Pinterest for a few minutes and I swear it motivates me so much and I really encourage you to do that.
When it comes to energy drainers, there is definitely things that can physically also drain your
energy that is not just like a mood or mental drainer but an actual physical one.
One of those being lack of sleep, not having enough sleep during the night or even trying to
force yourself to have less sleep so you can work more during the day or maybe again,
like you're doing scrolling at night and it just is not good for you.
Want to have a lot of blue light at night when you're trying to go to bed because when you get
into bed, your body's trying to wind down to relax, but if you're forcing artificial blue light on it,
you're automatically going to start waking up and it just isn't good for you.
You need to sleep.
Sleep is good.
If you have the privilege of working from home or having some free time during the day,
go take a nap.
If you need to take a nap, take one.
There's nothing wrong with a night.
nap, set your timer for like 15 to 30 minutes, and I'm telling you, it can be the best little
motivation you need to finish the day off strong. Another thing is a lack of hydration. It is so
important to stay hydrated during the day. If you need to buy a cute water bottle, do it. You can
put some stickers on it or just make your water fun because I'm telling you, if you do not
drink enough water, that is going to leave such a negative impact on your day. Another one,
is hibernating all day long. That is such an energy drainer. It is very easy at the moment to want to
isolate ourselves if we're not feeling it. We don't feel like going out. We don't feel like being
social. But even if you're not necessarily going to go out and be social, but even just go out
and get some fresh air, go on a walk, do that because you need to get out and not just hibernate
all day long in bed. It is not going to make you feel good. You need the vitamin D. And also, you need
experience during the day, you don't want your days to feel like a broken record. I feel like this one
is very obvious, but having a poor diet is obviously an energy drainer. And when I mean my poor diet,
don't have too much processed foods as your main source of nutrients or don't always go eat out.
But I also am meaning not getting enough food. Sometimes we are busy throughout the days and we don't
fuel our body enough nutrients it needs, or let alone we restrict ourselves. And I believe not eating
enough food and not getting enough nutrients in your body is just as bad as having a really processed
diet. So I really encourage you to take time every morning, afternoon, evening, to make your
breakfast, lunch, and dinner, make some snacks because your body needs this. It's not just for
happiness to eat. Of course it is, but your body also does need this fuel.
to go throughout the day and to run a healthy body.
So make sure you fuel up because not eating enough is going to leave you energy drained
in both your mind, body and soul.
This is a big energy drainer and I feel like I'm experiencing this right now, but overworking.
Why wait till you're burnt out to change your work balance?
I feel like it's very easy for us in life to wait till we're rock bottom to finally make a change.
but why do we have to hit rock bottom to finally change?
And that goes for everything in life.
If you're feeling yourself going downwards, going on a downward hill,
or things aren't working out, make the change now,
make the little effort because that's going to help you balance it out
and have a better climb back up rather than waiting until you hit rock bottom
to finally make some change in your life.
As I say that, it just makes me laugh as I've been bedridden for an entire week
in and out of the ER in urgent care with my osipidol naral nausea.
So definitely I had to hit my rock bottom until I am now making a change in my life.
Another energy drainer is too much clutter.
Having too much clutter or abundance of things that especially you don't need
is going to leave you feeling so unorganized.
One of the biggest energy drainers of all time is being unorganized.
I swear when your desk, your home, your room, anything that's unorganized.
that is your habitat and your environment.
So imagine if you go somewhere and your habitat and your environment that you're in at that
moment and you have to stay in for the majority of the day is unorganized.
Your brain and your head and your thoughts are destined to be unorganized as well.
Your environment is a reflection of how you think and how you feel.
So set yourself up for success having a clean space, tidy, neat, and try not to have
overabundance of things that you don't need. In result, you need to prioritize making your
environment a clean, neat space because you need to be able to walk into a space that is going to
cater to what you need, which is to be able to concentrate. So walking into a messy desk is not starting
from a clean start of the day. You need to have a clean desk, a clean space, and that's going to be
your blank canvas for the day. Another big energy trainer is an unresolved situation.
that can be such an energy drainer.
And I have an episode on how to heal the unheeled parts of you,
which I really recommend if you have like a situation that happened in the past with someone
and they never gave you an apology or if something happened to you in your past
that you really want to work on healing from.
It just is so important to realize how unsolved things in your life can be one of the biggest
energy drainers and it's subconscious.
You don't even know it's there until.
you really have to sit with yourself and figure out what is weighing me down right now because
anything that's weighing you down mentally without a doubt a big energy drainer another energy
drainer that I think is so unbelievably draining is a lack of purpose what I mean by that is
I've talked about this before but having your why why do you want something why do you want to
achieve something because when you have no purpose or want or why will give you no drive
to achieve what you want. Because, for instance, if your goal is to get the job your parents are really
pushing you to have, but let's say you don't want to be a dentist, but they want you to be. You don't
have a why or a purpose of why you want that. It just is planted onto you. So when you have no
purpose or why, because it's not a passion for you, then you're not going to have the motivation
to get started and take action. Let's say instead you really want to work in the fashion industry,
you have a passion and that's your why.
So that's going to make you get up and get motivated because you have that want and desire there.
Now for some uncommon energy drainers, remember, these are all things that are really important to reflect and see if you have these in your life.
And slowly start to cut them out or just decrease them in your life and you will see such a difference.
I can't be the only one who has this like dream item of theirs that they always see whether it's a bag, a sweat,
a top and you're like I just need that but it's like sold out everywhere that's me with this one
vintage dune and burk bag i literally was looking everywhere for it and i somehow found one on a posh mark
but not just one i found multiple of them at such a good price and i was like wait this is just
too good to be true so if you know me you know i am a poshmark girl poshmark is a marketplace where you can
list and sell as well as buy new items vintage pieces gently used luxury pieces they really just have it all
And I feel like there's no better time to go on Poshmark now.

I literally was looking everywhere for it and I somehow found one on a poshmark.
But not just one.
I found multiple of them at such a good price and I was like, wait, this is just too good to be true.

Decision fatigue.
And this is something I struggle with, but it's being indecisive.
I struggle with this and it can be so draining.
And I feel like a lot of people with OCDs struggle with this as well,
but just the lack of being able to make decisions
and making decisions feel like such a big deal
where if you pick the wrong decision, then it's over.
Your day's ruined or that's ruined or you made the wrong decision.
and it's not a big deal.
You choosing what menu item you're ordering
and if you ordered something where you don't love it,
it's not the end of the world.
It's not.
Or if you have the option to pick two different colors of shoes
and you pick the red when you meant to pick the blue,
it's not a big deal.
It's a big deal when you make it a big deal in your head.
So it's really important to try to relax on that
as hard as it is and I'm trying to do that
and just not putting so much pressure on decision making.
So let me remind you, if you pick a Mediterranean salad instead of the blue cheese salad, the world's not going to end.
This is another good one, but not enough natural light.
Like I said, hibernating is not good.
We need to get some sunlight, get out, and not just want to stay home all day, every day.
So try to make the effort to go on a walk, go out, get some sunlight.
I know people say avoid the sun and I agree wear sunscreen.
at the same time, I really do believe getting some sun is so important for your health.
Another one that is such an energy trainer is being always overstimulated by noise pollution and people.
What I mean by that is, you know when you go to a grocery store or a concert or something,
and there's just so many people talking and yapping and you're just like,
I can't even concentrate on my own thoughts.
When you're constantly being surrounded by noise pollution and too much people,
maybe let's say you spend your evenings usually going to parties instead of going to parties every day
maybe loosen up and try to go home have a self-care night and be with your own thoughts because
when you're around so much noise pollution and being overstimulated it can feel so draining
and this kind of has to do with the unhealed parts of you what i kind of said unresolved things
but suppressed emotions not allowing yourself to feel how you need to feel can be
so draining and a lot of times this can be due to the people you're around where maybe your
significant other or your family doesn't like when you cry and that is suppressing emotions.
You need to get your emotions out.
You need to not just shove it to the back burner.
Allow yourself to feel how you need to feel and get it out because that's going to be the
first step of moving forward.
That also goes to show if you're around someone who wants you to suppress your emotions,
that is going to be an energy drainer person.
They are not in your best interest,
and they're just trying to shut you down
and you need to be around people
who you can be yourself with and be comfortable with.
Another thing is having too much on your schedule,
I feel like when you overbook yourself,
obviously very draining.
Over exposure to negative news.
This is something where I think it's very important
to be informed, very informed on world events,
very informed on things that are happening
in your city and just everything.
News is very important.
And I think being educated is so important.
But being constantly tied to the news.
More specifically, the negative parts of the news is very draining and can definitely take a toll on your mental health.
I really recommend being educated and being aware of what's happening.
But also allow that into your time.
But don't let it take up your entire time where you're so in.
thralled and involved in it where you're saying it take a toll on your life. I feel like when
things happen, it's very easy to internalize every single negative thing we hear. And while we want to
educate ourselves and help the way we can and what we can do, allow yourself to also detach from
it when you need to because it can be so draining. Another one is perfectionism. So always just
trying to make everything feel perfect and you showing up perfect in your own eyes even.
So those are some common and uncommon energy drainers.
And again, you don't need to cut out all of these from your life.
Great if you can.
But rather just decrease the amount of energy draers you're exposed to in your daily life.
Now let's get into our energy givers because this is what's going to fuel you up and will keep you going mentally and physically.
Same with energy drainers.
Energy givers are in all factors of your life and will show up in all different ways in your daily
routine in your daily life. So that can be career relationships such as friends, family,
significant other. Energy givers will be the key to your balance that you need in your life and just
living a happy, healthy life. I forgot what it was what people say like something makes the world
go round. But to me, energy givers make the world go round. So when it comes to work, it is so
easy to feel like work is your life, but it's essential to remember that work and career does not,
in fact, define you. As much as it feels like it does, it does not. Where work in school usually
take up a good portion of our day. If you're someone who goes to work or school or maybe both,
you feel like your days are kind of just on repeat doing the same thing every day, which is why it's so
important to have those energy givers for you to keep you feeling like your days are different and not just
like a broken record. So let's get into how to determine energy givers. Of course, we're going to feel
happy, uplifted, motivated when we're around or take part in an energy giver. When it comes to a person,
you know when someone is an energy giver, when you just feel leaving after being with them,
you just feel fueled and revived rather than tired, negative, and something else to determine a
energy drainer of a person is when you keep replaying the same situations you in conversations
that you had with them, that is when you know it's an energy drainer because when it's an
energy giver, you're usually not replaying certain situations or conversations you have with them
in your head where you're not obsessive. It more feels like, oh, I was comfortable with them and you
moved on. Energy givers will also make you feel excited about the future. Sometimes we're with someone
and all they do is complain.
And while their feelings are valid,
we have all done that at least once in our life,
but not even once in our life,
but probably once in the week or the month.
But it's really important to hang out
and surround yourself with people
who make you feel revived and not shut down
every time after being with them.
When it comes to an energy giver on social media,
you want to feel peace and comfort and excitement,
not feeling bad about yourself
or finding yourself compare yourself
to them about their body, face, or life, you want to be able to leave looking at their things,
feeling motivated, excited, and at peace. So really, who and what makes you feel good is what an
energy giver is. Sometimes you follow someone and you follow them for the wrong intentions and not
realizing you are. And then soon enough, later down the line, you realize why you followed them.
And what I mean by that is maybe you saw a girl on your free page with a gorgeous, gorgeous,
body and you followed them and you find yourself later on just comparing your body to theirs
all the time. That is when you find out, you know what, that's an energy drainer. Let's remove that
from my feed and she's beautiful, she's gorgeous, but I'm not going to allow myself to compare
myself to her and make myself feel bad about myself. You are in charge of your feed and your
for you page and you are in charge of everything that you consume media-wise, whether that's TV and
movies shows anything. So build your feed and your for you page for what you know is right for you
rather than what you temporarily want to see. Let's get into the both typical and not as typical
energy givers that you can do in your everyday life and how to determine these. Again, of course,
a healthy diet will physically give you energy and help your mentality. Hydrating, energy
give her, of course, getting plenty of water throughout the day. One that I really love is cold exposure,
so washing your face in the morning with cold water or ice. Water, I love to do, like, I don't do this
every time I wake up, but doing like a little ice bath for my face. Another one is aromatherapy
where I get a fragrance or essential oil that you can reach to whenever you feel stress or you need
a little motivation or inspiration. I'm telling you aroma, so such as like essential, you can
oils or fragrance can bring you so much peace and happiness throughout your day.
Another thing is solo dates.
You know the drill.
We talk about solo dates quite a bit on this show, but solo dates are so important.
Such an energy giver.
And you can do this very simply throughout your week.
It doesn't need to be a full-on get dressed up and take yourself to a dinner, which I do
support and I do think is so necessary.
But sometimes we don't have all the time, nor.
do we have the funds to even do that. It can be expensive to go eat out. So you can literally just
dress up for yourself at home and have a little movie night. Another energy giver is a morning sunlight
and this is just touching base with the earth and we're just so used to being dialed in. I feel like
for work, school where anytime we're not on our phone or computer, please, I beg you, take some time
to get outside. So this can be going on a walk, stretching, and anything to do to detach.
I love to like find butterflies. And sometimes I'll like try to put them on my hand. It's so cute.
Any little bugs. I'll just do anything I can to feel like I'm touching base with nature.
Another one is caring for the little things. So this is simple joys learning how to do something
that's been on your like to-do list and learning more about something and caring for the little things
could be you finding a little ladybug and nurturing it or also let's say there's like a language
that you've been wanting to learn how to speak you can literally just search up how words about it
just caring for the little things and putting time to something that isn't necessarily going to bring
you success or benefits in your career or anything else but instead is going to bring a success and
happiness in your mood. I feel the same way about food. It doesn't necessarily always need to be
nutritional or have a nutritional benefit. Things that feed the soul is so important. So when I said
care for the little things, that doesn't necessarily need to be a benefit to you, but it's going to
benefit your soul. Same with food. Eat you know in balance. Eat the healthy things. But at the same time,
you can eat something that isn't necessarily very healthy for you or have any nutritional
value to it, but instead what that's going to do, you eating that is feeding your soul.
Eat that ice cream. Eat that bag of chips. You need some things that are going to give you a mood
energy giver. Next up is one of my all-time favorites, but hands-on activities. This can be baking,
cooking, pottery, anything like that, even vision boarding. I love to like look through a magazine,
cut out some images, and it just make a cute little board for the month. But I do you just,
do some hand-on activities because this is going to be such an energy giver and one of the best things
is to not be so attached to our phone so doing hands-on things is something I really recommend.
Another really big energy giver that you can do once a month, once a week, or even once every
like quarter of the year, but is mood boards. You can do this on Pinterest or a physical one.
I really recommend, but if you want to do one over Pinterest, go on Pinterest, find a set,
or aesthetic that you admire. I love like getting attached to a new style or aesthetic. I have been
loving the Nancy Meyer as like Ralph Lauren Nantucket's style. So that style just makes me so happy.
I love watching videos about it. I love making Pinterest boards on it. So find a style or an aesthetic
that you love and it really just makes you excited to start finding things like that and adding it
to your life. Another thing is romanticize everything. And I know again you've heard,
this from everyone, but romanticize everything in life. Really making the conscious effort to find
the art and beauty and everything. So much times there's such beauty and life into what's right in front
of us, but we're always looking for the next thing. That's where we really just have to slow down
and be present. And that leads me into gratitude. Gratitude is so important. So just being grateful
for even the simplest of things.
I just heard something that Jay Shetty said,
but if you are still saying your mom or your dad or your friend
or your siblings call and get a phone call from them,
you are blessed.
And the same goes for with if you have a roof over your head,
if you have water, anything like that, you are blessed.
And it's so hard for us to think about those things
because we're so focused on,
oh, we didn't get the score we wanted on something.
or we didn't win this or we didn't get that new bag that our friend got.
That's why it's so important to just take a look at the reality of our life and think how
blessed we really are.
Even if things are going hard with work or school or anything, look at you right now.
You're breathing.
You're alive.
You're healthy.
That's seriously a blessing as is.
Things will get figured out.
This too shall pass.
I always love thinking of that.
But it really is true.
so just try to really be grateful for everything in life.
Another energy giver is music, so make a new playlist each month,
and it just makes you excited to play it throughout the month,
and starting every month with new music just sets the mood and the tone for the month.
Another really, really big energy giver is, of course, visualizing and manifesting.
I think this is so important.
You can create stories in your head and just visualize exactly what your life
would look like in your eyes as a dream life. It's so funny when I was in the MRI the other day,
I was so, you know, nervous going through the MRI machine that I just like closed my eyes
the entire time and just visualize everything I want in my life and just thinking about all the
gratitude. And I'm telling you it happens. Also, one time when I was just really, really
wanting to go to New England to have a very fall trip. And,
I just sat with myself and I, like, meditated, but at the same time I visualized exactly what I wanted
to do on like a fall trip. And I kid you not, a week later, I ended up being reached out to
to literally go to Maine. And I had a very fall, fun New England stay. And I, it just blows me away
every single time when you manifest things because it truly does work. Another energy giver is think of three
things that went good in your day as a little recap. So when you're in bed, just think of three
things that you're grateful for or three things that went well. Another thing you could do in the
evenings is a diary or journal or you can even do this in the mornings, but just think of even one
sentence or one word that you want to write down to describe your day. Something that is an energy
giver that you can do for yourself as like affirmations on the mirror or you can do to other people.
I before have done this where I left them in public, but make a lot of you.
little sticky notes with little affirmations or sweet little compliments on them.
And it can be the sweetest thing for a stranger to see.
And you can also put them on your mirror.
Another really good energy giver is volunteering.
Another one is stimulating your vagus nerve.
So that's deep breathing, gargling, humming, singing.
It's so good to simulate the vagus nerve.
The nervous system, we're just so amped up and always so on fight or flight mode.
So it's really good to just try to consciously relax.
our body. Another energy giver for the summertime, just a little on-themed summer one, is have a
barbecue night. So you can have a barbecue night and then lay out and watch the stars in the evening.
This one is so random, but I think it's such a fun energy giver, but make a fort and have a
movie night with yourself. There's nothing better than just feeling like you're touching
base with your younger self again. So make a fort for yourself in the living room. Have a movie
night have some popcorn and candy maybe even invite your friends over and just the funest cutest
cuteest little night another energy giver is try one new place a week or every day if you can
this can be a cafe a restaurant a museum again we're trying to add more things that are going to give
us happiness and life into our routine and most of all experience because experience is such a
beautiful thing that we can do in our everyday life and we're going to
we're living the same day with work in school, it can feel so draining.
The last energy giver I want to leave you with is stay on schedule, but at the same time,
allow sporadic plans and flexibility in your life.
We want to have discipline in our routine and our schedule and by all means do that because
the majority of our time we need to stick to that.
But also at the same time, allow flexibility to happen.
If your friends ask you to dinner when you plan to go to your workout, maybe say, you
know what? I am going to go to dinner. I do want to catch up with my friends. So having just that
going with the flow feeling in life is so important. Energy givers look different for everyone and it's
so important to determine what are yours and most of all be mindful of incorporating those into
your daily routine. Same goes for energy drainers. I know we covered both energy drainers and
givers, but try to be mindful to determine what are the energy drainers and givers in your routine and
start cutting the drainer's out and incorporating more of the givers. I love you so much. I hope you
