Hello, my love. Welcome to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. If you were new, we talk all about becoming the best version of you, feeling good about ourselves, and living your dream life. I'm looking so forward to today's episode, so let's just get straight into our weekly review. I want to first apologize for not having an episode last week. I was just really busy, and I did have a doctor appointment that had a breast exam, and they did find a lump on my left boob, and it was pretty scary. I've been very very,
uneasy and very anxious about it. They said it's going to be most likely nothing and just assist,
but I'm going to be getting a mammogram and repeating an ultrasound. But I decided to just take
last week off to not put pressure on myself, but yeah, I've been pretty unsettled and not feeling my best
just because I'm nervous about it, but I'm just thinking positively and I know it's going to be okay.
I did talk about this on my Instagram story and I just want to thank you guys for all the sweet messages and
kind DMs. Also, I know a few of you guys said you also had a breast lump before and it came out
to be nothing. So thank you for also reassuring me. And I just think it's really important to get
checked at any age. And like I said, this is most likely nothing, but still just being cautious and
getting it all checked out. So this week, I went and had a day trip to a small full town in Julian.
I am just doing everything to embrace the fall. And I know you guys are too.
because I'm saying all the fun things you guys are tagging me and listening to the podcast,
then you going on a fall walk.
And it's perfect just to embrace the season.
But as I was saying, this week I had a little trip to a small town.
There were apple cider donuts, pie, cookies, everything.
It was honestly the perfect all day with my parents.
And that trip has got me hooked on cheese danishes.
They are just the best.
Another thing is I went to a self-improvement convention and it really just was a positive
mindset convention and I got to hear Dr. Joe Dispenza speak who is one of my all-time favorite speakers.
So it was just so real, getting able to see him in person and speak and it was truly just so motivating.
Lastly, this week is I've been having morning walks outside. The weather is starting to lean a little more
into fall weather or whatever you call California fall weather. I'll take it. As you guys know,
I love nothing more than the city, of course. But since living in L.A., I realize how much I miss
nature and I just keep trying to brainstorm what I want my future to look like and I really truly can see myself just living on a farm in the countryside of Europe but since that's not my reality right now I try to do everyday things to kind of make me feel that way one of those things is using farm fresh ingredients both in my food and of course my skin a few months ago I started using the pharmacy halo honey moisturizer and I am telling you my skin has never felt this moisturized and not only that I feel settled that I'm using a clean ingredient product high quality
and natural products is something that is very important to me. It is the cutest little packaging.
I have it on my bathroom countertop because it looks like a little honeypot. So it truly feels like
I'm just embodying nature in the city. It's time you drench your skin and honey hydration.

Now on to my current obsessions. The current obsessions of this week is putting figs in my
I just think it elevates it so much and takes it to the next level and then adding a dash of cinnamon
Just makes it the perfect fall breakfast now another current obsession at the moment is blue light glasses
I think they're so good to start wearing blue light glasses more because we are on our phones and
computer screens way too much and all that blue light is just not good for our eyes or our health so
It's really good to just put some blue light lenses on it to prevent that hurting your eyes my last current
session just sitting down getting my snacks, getting my cupcakes, getting my popcorn, and watching
fall movies. I on the weekends have just been starting my mornings off watching a fall movie
as the first thing I do. And let me tell you, it just shapes your day and just gets you in that
fall mood. So I really recommend you do that. Now moving on to my goal of the week. My goal of the
week at the moment is to try to be more relaxed in my shoulders during the day. Do you ever just feel like
your shoulders are up to the ceiling because I know we all feel that way, especially with many of
us going back to school or work, but we can feel very stress intense. So it's really good to be
mindful throughout the day to just relax your shoulders. Everything is going to be okay and there's
nothing to rush too. So just go take a deep breath and relax your shoulders. Another goal of the
week right now at the moment is to drink more coconut water every day. Coconut water is great
for electrolytes and I would love to start incorporating that more
to my week. And my last goal of the week at the moment, which I really encourage you do as well,
but is schedule out time to go on Pinterest. Sometimes we just hop on Pinterest and do a quick
little scroll, but I think it's really important to actually sit down and go on Pinterest to
replace other screen time that we usually just scroll on TikTok or Instagram on. Pinterest is
social media without the noise, and it just gets you in that motivated mood seeing other people
thrive and other ideas so it can really just inspire and motivate you.
on to your affirmation of the week. I am in the most self-aware time of my life. I love that affirmation
so much because it is so important to be able to reflect and see what do we truly need and want in our
life. And the best way of doing that is by self-reflection. Now for your self-love question,
what am I avoiding that I know that is best for me? I love that question so much and I really
recommend asking yourself that and journaling it. For your challenge of the week, buy an item on your
wish list or that has just sat in your cart for weeks because you truly deserve it. We all have
that one item in our mind, whatever cost how much it is. If you're able to buy it financially,
I really recommend you just do it because you deserve it. Money comes back, but time doesn't. And
even if it doesn't feel like you've achieved a lot on paper, you have done a lot and you deserve it.
Now lastly is the podcast review. This review is from Cap Tchiccadie and she said, this is a great
podcast and I love listening to Busy Get Pretty Throughout My Day. It motivates me to become my healthiest self
and strive towards my goals. Thank you so much. I absolutely love that review and I love how you said that
it motivates you to strive to your goals because that's what this podcast is all about,
becoming the best version of you and living your dream life. If you want to be featured on next
week's episode, please feel free to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts. And now with further or
now without further ado, there we go. Now without further ado, let's get in.
into today's episode, which is how to fall in love with yourself this autumn.
And we're going to be talking about seasonal date ideas and enjoying your time alone.
I had originally planned to record a self-date episode, but then I was like,
why not add some fall ideas as well to match the season?
So today we're going to talk about how to fall in love with yourself and seasonal self-dates.
Whether you're in a relationship, you're married, you're dating, let's say you have a crush,
or maybe you're single.
It doesn't matter if you have a partner or not.
You should always be dating yourself.
So to repeat that, whether you're in a relationship or not,
you need to still be dating yourself.
Here's why.
Nobody, not one person can provide what you can give yourself.
The love you give yourself, nobody can match.
Of course, others can give such beautiful, fulfilling love in relationships,
whether that's a relationship with your mom, your dad, your friends, your family,
or your significant other, but the love that you are capable of giving yourself is priceless.
And that specific love can only be found within you.
Do you realize that you are the only person in your own life that you will guarantee spending
your start to finish life with?
The person that you're going to spend the most time within your life is you.
So why not begin to love yourself and become your own best friend?
You maybe right now have to spend too used to putting people on a pedestal lately or maybe
even your job or your crush or whatever it is, putting people on a pedestal when really you're
neglecting yourself. No, it's not that you're just not being kind to yourself. You are neglecting
yourself. You should be your own top priority and that's not a selfish thing to say. You need to be
your own top priority because when you are, you'll be able to show up for your best self to somebody
else. I always think of this and I always say it on the podcast but it's like what they do when you go
went to a plane and then over the speakers they say, oh, the mask will drop from a head and parents
put on your mask first and then help your kit. Because you always have to help yourself first before
you help somebody else. In that case, when you do that, you'll be better able to help them.
The thing about being your own best friend is let me warn you. You'll be so excited to wake up
every single day. You'll want to spend every single second with yourself. And ultimately,
you're going to fall in love with the life that you're creating for yourself.
So that's my warning to you.
You doing these actions and falling in love with yourself
is going to make you not want to be doing anything but providing for yourself.
Dating yourself all begins with romanticizing the little things in your life.
Something I realized personally in my own life is it is very easy to take the easy way out.
And you may not understand what I'm saying, but think about it in your situation, in your life.
It is very easy for you to take the easy way out and not show up for yourself and date yourself,
such as you only get dressed up when you go out to meet your friends,
but you won't get dressed up when you're at home or when you're going to do your own thing during the day.
Another one being, you only go on nice dinners when you're going with your husband.
So you will never just take yourself to go have a nice dinner alone.
And another one being, you only try new things when you're with someone else.
Do you realize that you deserve to experience all of those things independently as well?
You don't need to wait for someone else or have to rely on someone else to be able to experience those experiences.
You need to take action and creating those memories with yourself as well.
And I'm talking things as simple as taking yourself on a grocery date,
a weekly necessity that you have to do, but make it feel memorable and get yourself a coffee and a pastry before you go shopping.
Bring all your cute tote bags, go shopping, and put your headphones in.
Allow that thing that was just on your checklist to go to the grocery store and get your groceries
to be something more memorable and present.
So let's talk about some simple ways that you can enjoy spending time alone
and simple independent activities that you can do.
And again, let me say if you are someone in a relationship,
you still need to be taking this time for yourself and having these dates.
Even though you're having these dates with your significant other,
or maybe you have a family and you guys do things,
you still need to schedule out this time for yourself as well.
Number one, I would say, which is a very simple thing that you can do,
is try out new fall recipes.
It is so easy to take a few minutes on Pinterest,
make a Pinterest sport about all these fall recipes that you want to try,
make out a grocery list,
take yourself on a little grocery date,
and then come home and cook some of those new recipes for yourself or your family.
And I promise you,
that is going to just feel such a joy in you because you're doing something hands-on, trying something new, and being creative.
Now, this is a good recommendation for trying something new that is still a simple date.
You can do very spur the moment because you don't have to take a lot of time doing this, but it's a picnic in a book.
And again, it's easy to take the way out and just bring a blanket and that's it.
Do not cut corners.
You don't want to just try to check this off that you have a self-date and move on.
it shouldn't just be checking it off on your list.
This should be actually enjoying it as you would having a date with somebody else.
So take time to go to the park, get your favorite blanket, lay it out, bring your favorite snacks with you,
bring a cute little picnic basket, bring a wine glass, you can put in your wine or you can put in your probiotic soda, whatever you want.
Play some background jazz music and relax, read your book, and have that little picnic date with yourself.
To me, that is just truly the perfect easy self-date that you can have.
One way I love to romanticize my alone time is pouring my favorite, like I said, healthy soda in a wine glass.
So I really recommend you do that, whatever your favorite drink is.
Pour it into a wine glass, put on some jazz music, dance around, in your lingerie or play dress-up,
almost channeled the younger inner girl in you.
I can't be the only one who has this like dream item of theirs, that they are.
always see whether it's a bag, a sweater, a top, and you're like, I just need that, but it's
like sold out everywhere. That's me with this one, vintage, Duny, and Burke bag. I literally
was looking everywhere for it, and I somehow found one on a Poshmark. But not just one. I found
multiple of them at such a good price, and I was like, wait, this is just too good to be true.

With it being the holiday season, I love nothing more than spending time on working on my wardrobe
with having a very minimal, classy, and effortless style, which is why I think it's so important
to try to find really nice basics and staples to wear and style with anything.
And lately, I have just been obsessed with Jenny Kane right now.
Well, actually, I've loved Jenny Kane for years.
If you go on my Pinterest board, on my home board, you'll see almost all of my pins
are of Jenny Kane home.
but for years I've been obsessed with the brand and their pieces are truly just perfect for the fall and winter
and honestly all year round because they are just the best staples.
Whenever I'm wearing their pieces, I feel like I'm channeling Charlotte York from Sex and the City,
just so classy and all their pieces have the best quality.
I know you guys will fall in love with Jenny Kane as much as I do,
so I want to give you guys at 15% off your first order using code pretty at jennie kane.com
slash pretty. That's j-en-n-n-I-K-A-Y-N-E dot com slash pretty to start building your wardrobe to have the most
effortlessly beautiful pieces. You have to remember that there is no rules when it comes to self-dates.
You don't need to over-plan them as well because if you begin to overplan and make it perfect,
you're going to want to procrastinate it. It'll become too overwhelming. It'll feel like a chore.
And you'll begin to look at it as a to-do rather than something that you're actually looking forward to.
And of course you don't need to necessarily plan out every self-date as well.
You can spur the moment have a self-date or spur the moment to start romanticizing your situation.
And it's hard to at first, but once you get a hang of it, you'll really start to romanticize
ominously everything that's happening in your life.
And I know you probably are sick of that word because you hear everyone say it.
But I don't know another word I can use for that because it's true.
You have to kind of just romanticize your life.
Fall in love with everything you have in your life.
you do, everything it is. It's easy to compare your life to the influencer you follow or your
favorite celebrity or your Pinterest boards. But let me just say, somebody is wishing they had your
life right now. So stop always trying to reach and want something else and be happy with what you
have. And that's not going to say, do not reach for your goals. I am someone who always says
push towards what your goals are and achieve your goals. But while you're on the way to you're
achieving your goals, enjoy the process because you're never going to get this time back.
And once you achieve those goals, you'll want to achieve another goal and another goal.
You'll always want to achieve something new and that is great.
But you're going to feel sad and bummed that you didn't just enjoy the process while reaching
those goals.
Sometimes we think that achieving the goal is where the peak of life is.
But let me just say, sometimes you go back and realize that the peak.
of life was the view. It was the way up to the mountain. It wasn't the top of the mountain. It was
your hike on the way up. Now onto another little self-date idea. Again, very simple, but
paint on the go. I, like I said, am a huge fan of painting on the go. It's very easy. You can buy
one on Amazon and it's perfect to keep in your car or your home because you'll never know when
you're going to be on the road and just want to pick it up after a drive and go run through and get some
food for you at a drive-through, go eat and paint by the beach, a perfect little spur-the-moment
self-date for yourself. Now on to another fall date idea for yourself is having a fall and
baking movie night with yourself. If you were to have a fall movie date with your friend or your
husband or your boyfriend, most often you're not going to be spending your entire time on your
phone. You're going to be present and enjoying the time. So it's very easy when you're just alone
to go on your phone and not fully be present.
But you need to start treating these dates like you're with somebody else.
You need to fully be present and enjoying every moment of it,
not just reaching for a quick temporary fix of going on your phone
and not taking it seriously because this is serious.
You are on a date with the most important person in your life, which is yourself.
So you have to start treating it that way.
But like I was saying, have a fall baking and movie night with yourself,
rent a fall movie, get some popcorn,
light some candles, bake some of your favorite pumpkin bread,
and then you can eat your bread while watching the movie,
and you can relax, and it just gives you that perfect fall movie night feeling.
Something that I do every fall with myself that I truly recommend you do
is build and decorate Halloween gingerbread houses.
They are truly just such a fun craft for, honestly, any age, okay?
It doesn't matter how old you are, it is so fun to do it,
and you can have a scary Halloween movie playing in the background,
Another fun thing that you can do by being your own bestie is paint or carve pumpkins.
Get a little tray of pink, white, and black paint and start painting some cute little bows on your pumpkins.
And you can decorate your house with them, your room.
And of course, you can do a classic carved pumpkins and put a cute little candle inside of it.
Truly the perfect way to be hands-on and present in the moment.
There's something so special about touching base with your younger.
self's favorite things. Just channeling your younger self and what was your definition of fun when
you were little. When we're adults or whatever age you are, we have stress from work or school or
whatever it is and when is the last time we actually had young fun? Like the true meaning of fun
when we were younger. I'm talking about playing, literally playing, rolling in the grass, doing those
things. You don't need to be 10 years old to be doing that. It doesn't matter what age you are in your
life. You deserve to have that playful, young, innocent fun. So begin to play. Do things that feed
your younger self, even if that's watching your favorite animated Halloween movie while doing a
pumpkin puzzle. Trust me, that's one of my favorite things to do. I love nothing more than putting on
Spookily the Square Pumpkin, which is a cartoon movie and doing a cute little puzzle. It
truly just feeds your soul, I promise you.
Another thing is take yourself on a fall drink tasting test at a cafe.
So go treat yourself, buy a few different drink items and pastry items, and just go try them out.
Maybe get yourself a chai latte, a pumpkin spice latte, a cheese Danish, a pumpkin Danish,
and maybe make a little ranking of scores of which thing you liked for fun and which one you didn't.
Sometimes we can feel like those things aren't productive and they're wasting our time.
because they're truly just childish things that we're just having fun with.
But the point is that is productive because that's feeding your soul.
Things that are productive don't necessarily mean cleaning or achieving so much work
with your work in your career or your school work.
Things that are productive can also be helping your mental health and your physical health.
Your soul needs to be fed and doing things like that is productive.
I know I have so many business listeners in here.
And I've seen some of your guys's work.
You guys are insane with your own little shop.
And since I started my podcast,
I know the feeling of putting so much time to something

So when it comes to your own shop and selling,
of course you want the recognition.
Which is why I love Shopify.

And now if you're someone who is a little more comfortable going on self-dates,
these are the perfect date-date ideas for you rather than just more of a small activity.
This is actually, feels like you're really taking yourself on a date.
And if you've worked up the confidence to go out in public alone
and are interested in doing these actual date-like activities alone,
these are perfect for you.
Also, I want you to know there is nothing whatsoever to fear about doing any of these things alone.
Do you understand the confidence you portray by doing these things independently?
It portrays such confidence by taking yourself on a date and doing typical group activities alone.
Because remember, you may be alone, but you're not lonely.
And most importantly, who are you trying to impress?
Nobody, but yourself.
So let's talk about some date ideas if you really want to take yourself on a true, true,
date. First off, one that is a classic and so liberating is take yourself to a sit down,
nice restaurant. There is nothing like ordering yourself a nice meal sitting at a two-seater
table, sitting across but nobody but yourself, and just feeling that date feeling, but being
it and doing it independently. Sometimes you'll get the waiter saying, are you waiting on anyone?
Or if you go tell the hostess, oh, for one, they're like, for one? Is someone else meeting you here?
Nope, just yourself because you're taking yourself on a date.
And no, you don't have to tell the hostess that you're taking yourself on a date.
But I'm just saying, you don't need to feel embarrassed if they say, oh, it's just you.
Now, another thing I really recommend is having a spa date with yourself.
Something you could do is plan a full wellness day for yourself so you can take yourself to breakfast, get some pastries, a matcha, book a massage, book a facial, and get your nails done.
It truly just gives yourself the perfect wellness reset.
And honestly, doing those physical things like getting your nails done and having a spa day
can also feel like having a little reset to feel motivated, inspired, and honestly a little more confident again.
Now on to a perfect fall date activity you should do is apple picking or going to a pumpkin patch.
That's obviously something that majority of people do with a family or with your significant other,
but it really is the perfect way to do a fun fall activity independently.
You can collect all those apples that you pick and make a nice pie once you get home.
And maybe the pumpkin that you picked out at the pumpkin patch, you can bring back and put into your beautiful home.
And if you're kind of thinking, gosh, I'm a little embarrassed, even though let me just say, nobody is looking at you whatsoever.
Nobody's caring or thinking that you're alone.
But if you are a little more, you know, new to taking yourself on dates, something that you could do is record yourself.
This actually is another way to make you feel less alone because it feels like you're talking to a friend.
So you can film what you're doing and film your little day.
You can vlog it and you don't even have to post it.
Just have it for yourself if it makes you feel more comfortable.
An easy way to begin doing self-dates is start off with something that people commonly do alone,
that being such as Pilates or a yoga class or going to the farmer's market.
Those are some things that people go with other people as well as doing independently
commonly as well.
So a Pilates class, a yoga class, or the farmer's market is a perfect way to start getting
into doing self-dates out in the public.
Another thing that is not really a self-date, but you can make it a self-date, but is go on
a color walk.
A lot of people are talking about this lately and I'm loving it.
But take yourself on a walk, put in some nice jazz autumn music, and pick a color that you're
going to spot during your walk. And it allows you to just be off your phone and look around,
see nature, and be more mindful and try to spy those things. So if your color was yellow,
you'll maybe spy the pretty yellow flowers or the yellow sun or the yellow car that you see
passing you. Just color walks make you be creative and be present. You know when people are just so
hung up over work or school or just obsessing over something that is stupid, people will
go tell you to go touch grass.
Honestly, I'm going to start saying,
go take a color walk,
because that I feel like is very equivalent.
Another thing that you can do alone
as a little next step to starting off
doing self-dates in public is
you can take a pottery class,
which would be really fun.
Pottery classes, again, you can do with people or without.
And another one that I feel is a great idea
is take a baking class.
That is really fun to honestly learn something
and to start doing something independently
outside your comfort.
This one is a personal favorite, but be a tourist in your own city.
There is so much right in front of you that you are yet to see and yet to know.
You probably don't even realize how many fall town activities there are right in front of you.
I recommend searching up your city or your town and seeing all the fun activities going on and start joining them.
Sign up, go to the fall festival, go do those things, and begin exploring.
You don't have to wait for somebody else to do this.
This is for you.
yourself on those dates because you deserve them. As I always say, I am preaching for you to have the best in life.
We're driven by the search for better, but when it comes to hiring, the best way to search for a candidate isn't to search at all.
Don't search match with Indeed. If you ever need to hire, you need Indeed. Indeed is your matching and hiring platform with over 350 million global monthly visitors according to Indeed's data in a matching engine that helps you find quality candidates fast.

yourself and become your own best friend is heal unheeled parts of you there are so many things that we could
bottle up whether it's from our childhood or things that we're struggling with at the moment with our work or
school or just personal life and it's so easy just to push it to the back of our mind and get
through it. But your significant other or your family or your friend, something you would do for them
is be there for them. So it's time for you to be there for you because you're dating yourself.
You need to be there for yourself. So if you struggle with your relationship with food,
by dating yourself, focus more on healing that relationship with your food and providing what your
body needs because you would do the same thing for someone else that you love. If you struggle
with anxiety, nurture yourself, and provide what you need to take steps in a positive direction
to learn more things how to comfort yourself and how to ease your anxiety. Start treating yourself
dates as a true commitment like you would a date with a partner. Stop finding excuses and reasons
why you don't have time to take yourself on these dates and stop rescheduling on yourself because
you wouldn't constantly reschedule on somebody else. It's easy to cancel on yourself dates as well because
you know you're not inconveniencing anyone because it's just you. You're not canceling on your date,
a partner, or a friend, or your family member. You're just canceling on yourself. But the truth is,
you are. You are setting yourself back from becoming your own best friend. By not showing up for
yourself, you're putting yourself last and not treating yourself as a priority. Dating yourself
matters just as much as your relationship with your partner, your friend, your family, your work,
in your school. Not only does dating yourself matter just as much as your relationship with those
priorities, but it matters even more. You are one of a kind. It is an honor to date you. So you have
to stop and realize there is no better time to start now. So my love, it is time for you to start
dating yourself today right now. I love you guys so much and I hope you enjoyed this episode.
As much as I did recording it, I honestly feel very inspired by even our talk about. I talk
that we had today, I am going to go take myself on a date this evening. So I hope you do too.
Remember, if you're nervous about taking yourself in dates in public, start small, do something easy.
Start doing like a grocery trip alone or something. It doesn't need to be right off the bat a sit-down
dinner. So take yourself on small dates, work yourself up and realize you are the prize and it is
an honor to be able to take yourself on a date. So start doing it. If you enjoy this episode,
