Starting point is 00:00:10 Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. Today's episode, just going to be what I know you needed, and I think that we all need. So I am very excited for today, but without further ado, let's get into today's weekly review. This week, I have been really trying to prioritize consistency, really trying to eliminate the all-or-nothing mindset and realizing a little as better than nothing. Consistency, I feel like, is something that we all struggle with. So that's something I've been trying to prioritize working better on this week. Another thing this week is I went to the farmers market, got nice produce. I've been loving getting produce at the farmer's market. I just feel like it's so much more fresh. And I just really love how it just tastes so much better at local
Starting point is 00:00:59 farmers markets. And I also cleaned my entire place this week, which felt so, so nice. When you get that nice deep clean in. It makes you just feel like such a more free space mind. I truly can think clear when I have a clear space. Lastly this week, I have just been mentally preparing for another blood test. As you guys know, I hate blood tests. They are just the least favorite thing of mine. But I haven't had my period for over a year and a half. So it's really self-care of myself to go take action into trying to figure out what is the diagnosis, what's going on with me. I am looking forward to just getting this last bit of blood work done so that I can find a solution and try to see what's going on. Moving on to my current obsession. My current obsession is protein pumpkin spice lattes.
Starting point is 00:01:53 What I mean by that is I will get a protein shake that's already made and it will be either a chocolate protein shake or a vanilla one and then I'll pour it over a lot of ice with two. shots of decaf espresso and then mix about two tablespoons of pure pumpkin inside it. I'll use a hand frother to kind of mix it all up and I swear it just tastes so divine, so fallish and I just love it. It's literally not even fall yet, but I can't help but to be so excited and I'm already skipping onto fall, which I'm trying to enjoy summer. It's 92 degrees out and I'm blasting the air and wearing sweaters.
Starting point is 00:02:34 in my place because I just want to tune into fall, but I know once fall comes around, I'm gonna wish it was summer again. Another cramp session is Lagree, which is basically like reformer Pilates, and I just feel like Lagri is so, so good for my abs and my booty, and I just love it so much. Also, my inner thighs are so sore. Anytime I do Legree for day three, up to a week, I will still be sore, but it's also a very low-impact workout, so I'm not doing intense training like cardio. Another current obsession is gazpacho, which I think that's how you pronounce it correctly. It's basically like a soup, but cold, and there's a better way to explain it, but it is so unbelievably divine. I love it so, so much. It's raw vegetables that are blended to make this
Starting point is 00:03:29 soup that's supposed to be eaten cold. It's originated from Spain, which I just love this dish, and it's honestly something that I have been craving every single day. Another current obsession is my new portable charger. I got the cutest portable charger. I will link it over my storefront. It's white with like a little pink case, and it's so easy to bring around everywhere. It's tiny, and it literally is a lifesaver. And my last current obsession is oil-based cleansers. I have been using a Tacha oil-based cleanser, and I've noticed a huge difference not having little breakouts on my cheek areas as much when using an oil-based cleanser. So that has been something I really love.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I also heard that if you literally wash your face for 15 minutes, like circling around your face with the oil-based cleanser, it can pull out all your blackheads and pores. I have not gotten to 15 minutes of cleansing my skin yet, but I've done it for about 10 minutes, and I definitely started to notice a difference. Moving on to the goal of the week. My goal of the week is to stop picking at my face, which is a goal I'm embarrassed to say, but I am a picker, I swear,
Starting point is 00:04:42 I will see a little pimple or rick out on my face and my fingers are instantly drawn to it, but I really have to stop doing it because all I do is scar up my face when I do that. Another goal of the week is to continue practicing more driver's ed. I have been doing it, and I'm so proud of myself. This is something that I have been putting off for way too long,
Starting point is 00:05:03 and it feels so good to finally start taking the steps, and I look forward to getting my permit and my license. I know, guys, I am a behind girl, but you know, it's okay. We all move to the beat of our own drum. I had to say that right in my head. Another goal of the week is to schedule better. I really want to, again, schedule less than doing a lot of things. Anytime I have a lot to do,
Starting point is 00:05:27 I will schedule a whole list of things I have to do. And then it makes me do none of it because it feels way too overwhelming. So I encourage you guys to do this as well. When you have a lot of things to do, schedule just a few things, about three things on your to-do list that is your top priorities, and then add on as you go other little things that need to be done. But if you list everything down that you have to do, it can become so overwhelming and make you not want to even start anything.
Starting point is 00:05:56 So I definitely want to schedule better. And my last fourth week is morning Matt Pilates daily. I really want to start doing that because even 10 minutes, 15 minutes of little movement starts my day off on such a positive note. Moving on to an affirmation. The affirmation of this week is, I am exactly who I am meant to be and full of endless potential. I love that affirmation so much and really affirm that to yourself. Moving on to a self-of-question.
Starting point is 00:06:25 this question for you is, when's the last time you've given yourself a physical hug? When you ask yourself that question and if the answer is, I don't know, I don't remember, then you know what to do. Go give yourself a physical hug, which is going to tie into this week's episode, which I'm so excited for. But moving on to a challenge, I challenge you to replace some of your screen time with going outside and getting fresh air. Lastly, is a podcast review. This review is from Ariana Grande the second. Love the user. But she said, I listen to this while I get ready slash unready and I love it so, so much. Jaden's voice is so calming and it feels like I'm talking with a girly. This podcast is a part of my lifestyle as I
Starting point is 00:07:14 learn so much from it. I look forward to a new episode every week. Thank you so much my love. I love that review so dearly. I'm so glad that you look forward to new episodes every week. I look forward. week. And I love how you said, Busy Yet Pretty is a part of your lifestyle. If you want to be featured on next week's episode, please feel free to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts. Now getting into today's episode, which I am so, so excited for. As much as we love being productive and achieving our goals, getting things done, we all very often forget that downtime is also very productive. Give yourself a hug right now. Give yourself a hug, a physical hug. right now. You provide so much for yourself. Look how far you've come in life, okay? I don't care how bad your day
Starting point is 00:08:03 feels. I don't care how bad your year has felt. I don't care. Look how much you've done for yourself. Even if you're not at the exact state you want to be in in life, you don't have the exact job, you're not getting the same grades that you were hoping for. You're not exactly the person you'd hope to be. But let me just tell you, you can change your life any day, any second. Okay, you can create the life you want to live. So instead of beating yourself up, think positively towards your exciting future, but really I want you just to stop and take a second to acknowledge how far you've come. We can tend to feel behind or that we could have done better in something. But today, we are not beating yourself up or any day, any day, but today, especially, we are not going to beat ourselves up on anything.
Starting point is 00:08:48 It's time to appreciate you. There is so much we experience and accomplished that we don't even acknowledge. Think about this. Did you graduate high school? Look at that accomplishment. That's amazing. Did you graduate college? Look at you. You put all that work into it. You did it. I'm so proud of you. I don't care if you didn't graduate with the grades you wanted. Or let's say that you moved to a new apartment. Okay, maybe you don't love the apartment you're in. But guess what? You still did that. You moved yourself into an apartment. Your younger self and your 80-year-old self would be so, so unbelievably proud of you. Instead of thinking, gosh, I wish to be somewhere else. Yes, guess what? You'll be in your dream apartment one day soon. But for now, acknowledge your hard
Starting point is 00:09:35 work and how far you've come. Taking care of yourself by showering or brushing your teeth. Things that feel simple to others may be a challenge for you or everyday things that people do may be hard for you. Let's say you've been depressed the past few years and you're trying to pick yourself up. You getting up and going to shower is such a thing you should be proud of yourself for. You accomplish that. Going to run an errand. Okay, let's say that you have kids and it's very difficult for you to do that and a task that you've been dreading. But guess what? You did that and I am so proud of you. Be proud of every single thing that you do in your life. It's time for you to be your number one supporter. Stop waiting on acknowledgement and stop waiting on praise from others because
Starting point is 00:10:23 guess what? You're going to be disappointed when someone doesn't give you the praise that you're expecting. So praise yourself. Cheer for yourself. Support yourself. Provide that for you. Do not rely on any other thing or person to give that to you. Give that to yourself. Be the biggest support system in your life. The minute you begin wishing that you had tried harder or become disappointed in yourself that you didn't reach your expectation of yourself. I want you to accept where you are right now, accept where you're at, and acknowledge that next time you'll do better. You negatively talking to yourself or shaming yourself will not help you succeed in life, okay? You will not succeed in happiness, your job, relationships, anything. You will not succeed if you feel yourself with
Starting point is 00:11:10 negativity. You need to stop using hate to feel motivation. Talk to yourself as you would talk to someone you love and know deserves the best. How unhealthy would it be to fail and to shame yourself? That's what you're doing to yourself. Rather than failing and telling yourself, it's okay. I can try again next time. And you know what? I'm so proud of myself. Those who try again and feel their motive through self-love and positivity are the ones who achieve goals and achieve true happiness. Take a second and acknowledge how cute your little body wakes up for you every morning and you do your cute little Pilates workout and your beautiful hands can create a pretty little yogurt bowl for you. Think about your five senses. The way you smell, you can smell the beautiful
Starting point is 00:11:57 flowers. You can smell the autumn breeze. Think about your heart and your emotions. Even at your lowest experiencing such deep emotion, be thankful. You're able to experience such a beautiful emotion in life. If I ever become really sad from something, I take a second to hug myself and I also say, how beautiful is it that I get to experience human emotions? I'm so lucky that I'm able to have a connection to something where I feel emotion towards it. You don't realize that you do so much for yourself. So thank yourself. You would thank someone else for doing the bare minimum for you. So why don't you think yourself for living every single day for you? Look in the mirror and thank yourself as you would,
Starting point is 00:12:43 your parents, your friend, your significant other. You deserve that recognition from yourself. If you truly want to live the life that you desire, you need to give yourself breaks and give yourself hugs all throughout the week. And all throughout your day. Ask yourself, what do you strive for? Maybe you strive for lots of money, a family, or traveling. Think about this.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Behind every single physical desire or want that you have in life, all narrow down to happiness. We truly, what we want is we're striving for happiness. And of course, happiness can be reached through having a significant other, having your nice car, having a dream house. Of course, and all those are bonuses on top. There is nothing wrong with wanting physical items to give us happiness. Trust me, when I see a Chanel bag and I have it in my hands,
Starting point is 00:13:39 of course it's going to give me physical happiness, no doubt, and I'm definitely going to want that. Yes, I'm going to have a multi-million dollar mansion one day. Yes, of course I'm going to. But where does that all narrow down to? It narrows down to wanting happiness, which is where we have to start doing simple things that will spark our happiness,
Starting point is 00:13:59 especially things that are more emotional rather than physical items or people. But the point is to be happy in life. When people say to you, give yourself a hug or give yourself a pat on the back, Literally do it. You deserve it. When you physically hug yourself, you will receive comfort in a sense of safety. Whenever you've hugged someone from the past or hug someone, I assume it was most often someone who brought you a sense of peace and happiness, maybe your mom, your husband, your friend, someone that gives a sense of comfort and safety. So when you give yourself a hug, you will literally give yourself that same feeling of comfort, safety, and happiness.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Another thing is, stop comparing where you are in life to someone else's. Stop comparing your goals to their goals. Stop comparing their achievements to yours, their family, their money, their house, their life, everything. Stop comparing because this is not a competition. Why are you comparing yourself to someone else? The only person to outdo in your life is your past self. If you're currently making $50 a day, which is $20,000, which is $20,000. $20 more than last year you were making.
Starting point is 00:15:15 That is great. You should not care if your friend is making $300 a day. Yourself is the only person you should calculate your wins with. You make $20 more a day than your past self means you are in the lead of the highest version of you. You outdid your past self. Do not try to outdo or worry about outdoing someone else. Outdo your past self. You have to realize this is your life, okay, your life, and this is your only life.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Our purpose is not to own the best car or to have the best job. Our purpose of being here is to enjoy life. When we put all our energy and effort into work, school, or material objects, we can easily forget our purpose, which is to enjoy life and inspire others. That being said, of course, of course we should put effort into creating the best life, with our career, our job, our family, but begin taking time to stop and smell the flowers. However old you are, you are only your age right now. I am my only age right now. You will never be the same age you are again, so enjoy every second of it. Don't let a date go by of you beating yourself
Starting point is 00:16:32 up, wanting to look a different way, wanting to live a different lifestyle. Babe, you are going to get to that lifestyle. Do not worry, but instead take this time to care for yourself, give yourself a hug and know you're going to be living that lifestyle you're going to put the work into it but when you put work into it you're still going to put work into yourself and caring for yourself you hear that sound it's the sound of a sale you're missing out on because you're not selling on shopify and what does it sound like with shopify uh much better start selling with shopify today.
