Hello, my love. Welcome to The Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you are new here, welcome. I talk all about how to become the best version of you, enjoy your daily life, how to romanticize your life, and honestly, just become a better version of you where you're excited to wake up in the morning and live out your day. One of my favorite things is seasons. And of course, in the episodes, we are talking about both mental health, as well as things that you can do during the season, such as summer, to help you just enjoy the season better.
And while we're trying to improve our life and improve ourselves and just find that version of our life and our self that we love, of course, improvements come over time and things don't just shift overnight, which is why I'm so excited to record this episode on how to fall in love with the life that you currently have because majority of us can't just wake up to a new life overnight.
So just trying to figure out how to manage and better the life you currently have and just fall in love with the life and situation and the environment that you can't change.
is really important to talk about. So I'm very excited to get into that episode today. But first,
let's get into our weekly review. This week, I have just been living out my dream summer
vision board. I feel like I've been just trying to put so many things into reality that I've
been wanting to do this summer. And do not hold your expectations too high. While we should have our
goals and should be our own advocate and actually make sure we follow through with the things that we
want to do, at the same time, don't put stress on yourself and unneeded worry of trying to get
everything done because we are also just trying to enjoy our life and also have time to relax.
So I have been trying to just live out my vision board, but also having the balance.
And something else this week is I've been trying to do something new every hour or so.
I realize it's so easy to just be doing one thing for such a long time during the day,
whether it's working on one certain subject or whether it's cleaning or doing anything for one or two
hours is a great time to work on it and then change it up and then you can come back to that later so
i just have been trying to do something new every hour or so and also finding more balance while making
the most out of each day i feel like has been so important and something i've been really trying to do
lately trying to just maximize my summer and maximize my day so it makes me feel like i have memories
it's not just like a broken record of doing the same thing every day now into the current obsessions
of the week my current obsession right now is outdoor workouts i feel like i i like i
love nothing more than just getting some sunlight and also getting movement in. So that combo together
just feels so fulfilling by the end of the day when you just feel like actually like you're tired for bed.
I feel like when you have movement during the day and when you get outside of the house,
you just feel more ready to go to bed and don't feel like you're awake and sitting in your bed that
you could start reorganizing your room at 12 in the morning. So I love that feeling of actually being
tired and having that normal sleep schedule. So having outdoor workouts had just spent some
that I really have loved this past week.
Another thing is fresh flowers in my room.
I love having fresh flowers.
I also want to get myself a florist.
I just saw a TikTok of a girl say this,
and I think it is so true and so smart,
but she said how it's so important to have a florist,
and I think it's so chic.
So whenever somebody wants to send you flowers
or whenever you want to order some new flowers,
you have a go-to florist who knows exactly what you like and love.
So that's, I guess, maybe goal of the week is to look into getting a florist,
a florist but i just love fresh flowers in my room and it just sets the tone to getting it on like a
sunday or a monday where just is a new week new set of flowers for the new fresh start i love nothing
more than that and another current obsession right now is pastel bedding i love pastels i love color
no shame in the color game i absolutely love it i think it's so cute during the summertime so having just
like cute gingham or stripes on like pastel bedding is so
So cute and chic to me.
Now and to the goal of the week.
My goal of the week is to cook from my Jiselle Bunchin cookbook.
I love her so much.
I think she is so just incredibly elegant.
And I just love how she embodies wellness and health so well.
I used to love her a few years ago.
But I just found her cookbook.
I would say a few months ago in like T.J. Max or Home Good.
So I picked it up and it had so many good recipes.
So I want to cook something out of her cookbook.
I'm really just obsessed with the whole.
wellness era that is not overly obsessed where, okay, I think there's nothing more chic than having
advocacy where you take care of yourself at the same time you're not so unbelievably hard on
yourself to get into wellness where I used to overanalyze so many things and be like, gosh, like
the microplastics and this has, you know, seed oils or bad ingredients. And now I, of course,
majoratively eat clean ingredient. But I also think there's something so incredible.
I'm going to use the word chic, but there's something so chic about having that confidence to have that balance, where you know it when you go eat out or when you go have some desserts or when you go have, you know, something that isn't necessarily, quote, healthy, but just letting yourself indulge.
It's having that confidence knowing that, you know, I'm able to do this because I'm not restricting myself and I love myself and I want to feed my soul, even if it's not feeding, you know, my body by having this, you know,
amazing chocolate cake, I'm going to enjoy the chocolate cake to my fullest because I deserve it.
And also because I have a wellness routine that makes me feel good, where whenever I do,
you know, let's say go off routine from eating, quote, healthy, or having a good workout
schedule or just having overall wellness and you're living for your soul, not just for your
physical and mental, which I think is so important because in order to have that sustainability
of having a wellness routine or eating healthier, working out, or honestly just keeping up a health
wellness mindset, a self-care mindset. I really believe you have to have that feeding part of your
soul where you're going to indulge in the yummy snacks, indulge in those late nights where you're not
going to bed by 10 p.m. every night. I feel like having that balance, it just is so chic. And this is
for another episode. I kind of got off on a tangent, but there's something so elegant and confident about that.
want to do an episode on that soon because it's something that I'm really trying to embody right now.
And I think it's important to talk about, especially during this whole ozempic craze and, you know,
summer bodies and everything where I feel like just overtakes your confidence, overtakes comparison.
So I think that's something to be talked about in the near future.
But back to what I was saying, another goal of the week right now is to plant some more plants.
I just bought a strawberry and a lavender plant.
So I need to go buy some pots and get that all set up because I have just been loving my little herb
garden. And my last goal of the week is to read Happy Place. I started the book. I'm about halfway through,
but I have been loving it so far and I really want to finish that because I have so many summer
books right now on my TBR. Now on to the affirmation of the week, your affirmation is my life
is perfectly complete as it is. I love that affirmation so much because I feel like it really
ties into this week's episode, what we're going to talk about. Now on to your self-love question of the
week. What do I have in my life that I couldn't live without? I love that question so much because
it allows us to reflect and see what do we have that we take for granted.
And it allows us to just be more present and more grateful that we do have it.
So I really recommend asking yourself that.
Now on to the podcast review, if you want to be featured on next week's episode,
make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts and leave a rating over Spotify.
Or if you're listening over Spotify, feel free to comment your review.
This review says, you are absolutely the best.
Listening to you gives me a self-assurance I'm able to do and achieve anything.
Your words are really powerful and it speaks wisdom. Thank you.
I absolutely love that review and it makes me so happy to hear that it gives you motivation
and it feels like you can achieve anything because that is the point of the show.
Now without further ado, it is time to get into today's episode.
How to Fall in Love with the Life that You Currently Have.
I want to start off with the infamous quote that not only I say, you say it, we literally
all say it. I feel like we're all victims of this, but saying I'll be happy when.
I'll be happy when. I have this.
I'll be happy when.
I get this, I'll be happy when I look like this.
I'm telling you this quote, this mindset that you have, is stealing the present.
It's the difference of chasing happiness versus creating the happiness.
And we always think, okay, in the future, when I have it or when I look like this,
but let me just say that you have to realize that life is happening now.
You may never have that.
God forbid, you may never actually have what you're wanting to happen, let alone a future promise.
so don't wait until you are happy or don't wait until you're happy that you look like this,
have this in your life until that happens because you may never get that.
No, we were not all born a nepo baby.
We were not all born from money.
We were not all born with the picture perfect life.
And you do not have to have that in order to enjoy your life.
Some of the most happiest people don't have a lot of money or don't have an ideal living environment.
they don't look the way they want to look,
but it's all about the mindset
and the perspective that you allow yourself to have
because if you're allowing yourself to have
the want to always look and always find need
and thinking, oh, I wish I had this.
I wish I looked like this.
I wish this was my life.
You're never going to see what you currently have
because I promise you as much as it feels like
you have the worst of the worst life.
I promise you somebody has it worse
and your worst day would be somebody's dream day.
you have every right to complain and hate certain things about your life.
Please do not think I'm not saying that.
We are all valid to how we feel about disliking something.
And that also, if you dislike something, don't just think of constant negative thoughts about it.
Think, okay, this is my motivation to one day change this in my life and to start taking action today, how I can get myself out of this point that I'm at that I don't like.
Maybe you don't like your apartment and you're lipping in.
Instead of laying that be constant negativity, use that as motivation to, you know,
to start today on finding a new apartment, getting a job that's going to give you enough money
to work towards that new apartment that you want. But in the grand scheme of things, when we try to
attract things and when we try to achieve things in our life, that's amazing to think, okay,
I will have that one day and hold yourself accountable. Know that you will get that one day.
But at the same time, you have to enjoy what you currently have. You have to find happiness
where you're at right now because I guarantee you once you get that thing, you will
still be looking for something else to be happy towards. You may be thinking, once I hit this weight,
I'm going to be happy. You may hit that weight in the future, but when that day comes, you're going to
be thinking, oh, I'll be happy when my arms look this way. No, you're always going to be trying to find
something else to, I'll be happy when. So you have to realize, all those goals are great, have the
goals that you want, but enjoy where you're at right now. Don't say you're going to love yourself when you
look a certain way. No, start loving yourself now while you're going to the gym, while you're eating
healthy. Don't think I'll love my life when I have a huge house. Find things to love about your life,
even if you're living out of your car. Yes, living out of your car is not the ideal situation,
but having a positive mindset and allowing you to have less pressure of negativity on you is going
to allow you to feel lighter and happier during the day. You're going to feel more fulfilled. And not only that,
you're going to get closer to where you want to be because it doesn't feel like you have a negative
anchor constantly pulling you down with negative thoughts. So let's talk about romanticizing your current life.
This is about finding beauty in the ordinary moments and just living slower and more intentionally,
turning routines into rituals. So much at the time we feel like our daily routine of we get up, we go to work,
and we have to make dinner and then we come home and go to sleep. While you may be looking at that way,
what can you nitpick out of this daily routine that you have to romanticize it and make it more of a
ritual than routine? Maybe you usually just wake up, put your clothes on and go to work and then
you make dinner when you come home and go to bed. But what can you do that makes you actually
look forward to it a bit and romanticize it a bit? So maybe when you wake up, you're going to put on a
2000s rom-com playlist that makes you just have some positive music in the morning. Then on your
drive to work, you have a podcast on. You pre-made your lunch the night before, so it's a great
healthy lunch that you're looking forward to have. Maybe on the way to work, you get a macha,
you get a coffee. When you come home from work, despite you being exhausted, you do just a five-minute
workout. You cook a healthy recipe having an actual open cookbook, light candles when you eat your
dinner, and start changing the little mundane routine that you have into rituals. And seriously,
all it takes is the most slight little shifts that truly make you start enjoying.
and feel more content within your day.
When it comes to romanticizing your home,
it's so important to just refresh your space
without spending much time on it.
Having daily refreshes on your space
will save you so much, just stress,
and so much feeling of that bogged down and crowded feeling.
Every Saturday, every Sunday, on the weekend,
whenever you have a moment,
take time to just do a one hour deep clean on your room or your space.
Then every day, just do a quick little upkeep in the evening
that spend like five to ten minutes of just straightening up and that's going to allow you to
constantly have a clean space another thing for romanticizing your home keep your home clean for you
don't keep clean for anybody else but do it for yourself because you deserve to have a clean home
just as much as if you were to have guests coming over same like the feeling i feel like that reminds me
almost like get ready for yourself sometimes if we know we're staying home all day we'll just wear sweats
and while we should we should have those days where we feel relaxed we should also do it
her hair, put our skincare on and get dressed for ourselves as if we were going out because it makes
you feel more productive and it makes you feel more put together and it's going to make you feel less
tired and just more awake and you're doing it for you. You don't have to get dressed up for somebody
else. Get dressed up just for you as you would with somebody else. So make an effort to make
your room and your house feel cozy and peaceful. And when it comes to your mornings, create a slow morning
routine and just open the windows, let the sunlight in and start your day without immediately
scrolling. I feel, okay, I do this too. We're all victims of it and it's also just like a second
nature habit. We always grab our phone as soon as we wake up in the morning, but make some
conscious effort to give yourself at least, at least 30 minutes of not touching your phone
after waking up in the morning. So maybe use that time to make your bed, brush your teeth,
do your skincare, go to the bathroom, drink some water, then touch your phone. So the minute you're in
bed, don't look at your phone. Don't even touch your phone until after your bed's
then soon enough, once you do like 30 minutes, you can work up to an hour not touching your phone in the morning.
And of course, all these ways to romanticize your life and your rituals all vary case by case on your current routine that you have with work or kids or obligations.
So of course, just create that routine and rituals according to what works for you best.
Now, when it comes to your evenings, having that cozy night routine that you can look forward to from the minute you open your eyes in the morning.
I'm already looking forward to my night routine.
It's not a dread. It's something that's exciting. So reading instead of endlessly scrolling, maybe you usually just hop into bed and scroll. It's totally fine to have an intentional like 10 to 15 minutes scroll. But then after a while, you just start doom scrolling. So maybe instead look up what you're wanting to watch or maybe just scroll for a little bit and then read a book or watch some TV that you've been wanting to catch up on. I can't lie. Sometimes I am an impatient person. But let's be honest, waiting on things are honestly the worst, which is why I want to tell you.

When it comes to summer, you may be someone who has more time on their plate or not,
but regardless, it is time to lock into our goals.
And for you, maybe one of your goals is starting a business.
I understand how intimidating it can be to start and run a business
or even just keep up and find success in your business.
There's so many different departments and avenues
and something that I really recommend to first-time business owners
and honestly any businesses in general is Shopify.
Shopify is literally one of the best places that can support you
in all different aspects to run and grow your business.

My favorite thing to do is end my day by journaling. So journal a little bit or do your five-minute
journal. Just end your day on a positive note of gratitude. When it comes to your current job,
my dream is that you currently are loving your job and it is your dream job. But let's be honest,
like the majority of us, it's not our dream job. It's not our ideal situation. We'd rather be
somewhere else in our life when it comes to our job. So let's talk about loving your current.
job because again, we can always have our goals and set towards the future of what we want
and we can work towards those things and start taking action on that today to start making
progress to getting closer to where we want to be with our jobs in our career.
But at the same time, you also need to learn how to love where you're at.
So maybe you're constantly complaining to somebody else about your job or even complaining
in your head and just having negative thoughts.
So shift from complaining to appreciating.
So I guarantee you there's a job that you.
rather never even step foot in than doing the one that you currently have now.
So sometimes it's easier to think, okay, well, I'd rather have the job I'm at now than a different
job. While it's not your dream job or your ideal job, I'm sure you rather have that than something
else. Focus on what your job provides. So let's say you're a waitress working at a classic
diner. What you could think is, gosh, I don't like my job because I want to be actually a
waitress in a fine dining restaurant. While it's easy to complain,
and constantly want a life that we don't have yet.
Looking it from the perspective of focusing on what your job currently does provide,
you can think your current job is actually providing great experience for you to have
and great experience to write on a resume.
So when you applied to be a waitress at a fine dining restaurant,
it shows that you've been a waitress for many years before.
Another great thing to look at is maybe your job is not that stressful.
So it's providing a less stressful environment where maybe at this current time in your life,
since it's not that stressful the job and you're not working at exactly the place you want to be.
This gives you some time to dabble in some other things that you've been wanting to catch up on.
Maybe you've been wanting to start a business or a project that you've been putting off.
Use this time to do that now.
So when you do have less time in a more stressful job, you aren't going to have that time.
So this is the time to start that now.
So find ways to make work more enjoyable.
Maybe that's also setting a reward for yourself every single day.
treating yourself to a macha or a coffee on your way to work.
Or knowing that, okay, after work today, I'm going to watch this new movie.
So just having a movie in mind that you're looking forward to watch.
And while those are things and rewards that are outside of work,
when it comes to rewards that are inside your work,
maybe make the effort to actually like one of your coworkers
and try to actually have a friendship with them.
So it makes you have an easier time to look forward to going to work.
Or between your breaks, look forward to going on to call.
quick little walk, maybe doing your hair a different way or spicing your outfit up for work.
Just finding the little things that you can do to enjoy work better is going to be so much
better for you rather than just complaining and bringing you down. Yes, it's not your ideal
situation. Yes, you're going to be at a better situation in a few months, maybe a few years
when it comes to your career and your work. But this is where you're at right now. So complaining
and constantly having a negative mindset is not going to bring you anywhere, but bring you down. So if you
want to be brought up, consciously make the effort to have those positive thoughts, have that
positive mindset, make that shift from negative to positive, even if you don't feel like it,
make it because that's just going to put you in a better headspace and enjoy your days better
and make you more motivated to getting closer to where you want to be. When it comes to loving your
current overall situation, stop waiting for life to begin because this is your life and you have to
work with the cards that you were dealt, but that does not mean that you have to keep those cards
forever. Bloom where you're planted. Instead of trying to swim against the current of your life,
your job, and your environment, flow with it and grow with it. You need to appreciate this season of
life before it's gone. You have such a future and life ahead of you. You will get to the top of the
mountain, but you have to do the climb first. And it's like the book, The Mountain is you. So just be
conscious of appreciating the season because it's going to be gone one day. And you're going to realize
so much of life wasn't about getting to the end, but it was about enjoying the process of the climb.
When it comes to changing things overnight, many times we can't change our home life, our work
life, or anything really that is big in our life overnight. And of course, those are the things
mostly that we want to change the most, such as our work, our home, our environment. But again,
we can't change those things overnight. So here are some things that you can change overnight
that can help you get to closer where you're wanting to be. One thing you can do is,
rearrange your room. There is, it's free. Rearrange your room. You don't have to buy new decor, buy new
things. You literally just can rearrange your room. Maybe you have a chair in one corner of your room.
Switch it to the other corner of your room. Switch your desk in a different area.
Clean out your closet, get rid of some clothes and make it feel like a more organized space.
Another thing you can do is buy yourself fresh flowers or a candle. Of course, I always say this,
but I love doing that and it really does make you feel fresh. Another thing is change your phone
wallpaper. I feel like doing a full phone reset and especially changing your wallpaper can make you
just feel like you have a fresh new start. When it comes to becoming the main character in your life,
this is something that is such a mindset shift that you can start doing today. It's dress up for yourself.
Like I said, dressing up is usually what we do when we're going out or when people are going to
come over, do it for yourself, make your home nice and tidy for yourself, document your daily life.
Maybe you want to take photos every day or maybe you want to start posting on social media.
start doing a day in your life video.
And also, this is a big one, but celebrate ordinary days.
There's so many times you have such boring ordinary days.
But again, this would be someone's dream day.
So find the things that you actually look forward to in these ordinary days
that just make you feel good.
Instead of thinking, oh, today I did nothing, type was boring,
be so grateful that this was your type of day.
You had a boring day.
Like, that's great.
You have to have the boring days in order to have the good ones.
When it comes to creating things to look forward to,
this is so important when it comes to falling in love with the life that you currently have.
This is doing weekly cafe dates.
I feel like this is a perfect way how to get social and also lock in and do some work,
but romanticizing it.
Instead of doing your work at home, you're meeting up with someone at a cafe,
getting your favorite drink, changing the setting from not being at home,
but actually working at a cafe where you're seeing other people working.
Another one is having a seasonal bucket list.
If you listen to the show, you know I love just having goals and new intentions.
for the season. So having a seasonal bucket list is so nice because it gets you up and motivated
instead of just doing the same things and thinking, well, having no direction and having no
thoughts of where you're going to do or what you're going to do for the season. Something I love,
which this kind of ties into rituals, but having little traditions each week. So maybe Saturday,
you go to the farmer's market and then Sunday you get a matcha out somewhere. Then Monday,
you start your day off working out a cafe. Just having little traditions each week to look
forward to is so important when it comes to comparing your life because this is something that is very
easy to do when you don't love your current situation but comparison creates dissatisfaction and
that's again going to be an anchor pulling you down as negativity so stay in your own lane
stop comparing your situation to someone else's because it's different they have a different life
they have a different income they have a different everything so why are you sitting why are you
comparing your situation to theirs so stay in your own lane and appreciate your unique
timeline, you are on your own pace, but if you keep looking at other people, you're not going to
make any progress yourself. So focus on yourself and be your own competitor. Don't look at somebody
else. Be your own. So when it comes to falling in love with your routine, you can do things such as
like adding music to everyday task. I kind of said this where when you wake up at the morning,
put on a like 2000s rom-com type of style music, something you look forward to just to enjoy the daily
task if you're doing the dishes. Instead of just doing the dishes, get cute new gloves. And
to do the dishes, put on some TV to watch while you're doing them. When you do your errands,
get maybe a macha on the way to do your grocery shopping, write your list down. Instead of on your
notes up, do it on a cute little shopping list piece of paper. And you can do things like romanticizing
your chores even. I'll put on like YouTube videos while I'm doing my chores and it just makes me
feel more motivated cleaning my room while I see other girls cleaning the room. Another thing is
make everyday feel special. Use your favorite dishes. I love.
love how Ina Garden says don't save your fine china for when guests come over or don't
save your fine china for a special occasion because every day is a special occasion.
If you constantly save things to use, you'll never use them. So start wearing the dress that
you've been saving. Start using your favorite dishes. Wear that perfume just because. Don't
save it for a special occasion. Wear it. You have to stop saving things for some day and make
every day feel special. Some simple daily joys that you can do also are just going on morning
walks, watching sunsets, and just reading outside. Even though those are very cliche, ordinary things that
you can do, they are things that actually make you feel like you had a day and it doesn't make you feel
like such a broken record feeling in your routine. And it actually does change up your routine because
you're going on a walk, which is getting movement. Watching the sunset is you getting outside and reading
is you also doing something for your mind to enjoy a book, but also for your mental health. It's getting
yourself off your phone and getting yourself off of a screen and doing something physical.
Like I love nothing more than just holding a physical book and immersing myself into it.
Some good mindset shifts to live by also when falling in love with the life that you currently
have is instead of saying I have to, so it's like I have to do the errands or I have to work out.
Instead think I get to.
I get to go to groceries.
I get to go do my chores.
I get to go work out.
Like honestly, all the things that feel like chores to us are such a blessing.
You literally have so many things in your life that feel like to-dos that are actually something that
someone would wish to be able to do that they can.
So start thinking of your I have to list as I get to list.
Even if you think, even if you like you have such a hard time doing that, start writing your to-do list
as I get-to list.
You can start thinking I get to do this.
So that's the title of your list.
I get-to list.
Like that already is going to be the biggest mindset shift where you're going to also start
focusing on abundance.
So start looking at everything.
with a glass half full rather than half empty, focus on abundance, and also look for beauty daily.
Just in your daily routine.
You can look outside.
When you're looking out and reading your book, you can see the breeze and the air.
You can feel it in your skin.
You can see the sunlight.
Just the little mundane things that are in the day that actually give us so much joy and we don't even realize it.
These are also very important things that I think are very small things that give very big impact
in order to love your current life.
This is decluttering what drains you.
So declutter your following list.
Get rid of people that don't give you motivation or don't, or that just pull you down in
general.
If you follow people that you're constantly comparing yourself to, unfollow them.
If you have too much stuff in your room, get rid of stuff and reorganize.
And also surround yourself with beauty.
If you're constantly watching, let's say, crime podcasts or crime scary shows that you don't
like that don't give you a peace and like calm feeling get rid of those things you don't need to listen
to those things if they're pulling you down another one is create a peaceful environment and atmosphere so
even if you have three kids running around use that time where they're asleep five to 10 minutes
to do your skincare and complete peace where you're not feeling that rushing feeling and you can just relax
so use the time you can to feel like you're in a peaceful atmosphere make that time for yourself
make that routine and tailor it according to the schedule that works for you.
This is my most important thing.
It's to start living like your future self.
I always say this and it really does work, but start acting like her today.
Build habits that align to the person that you want to be and the life that you want to have.
Don't wait to become her and start becoming her today.
You can literally start doing things today that is like what your future self would do.
And some of the best questions that you can ask yourself to kind of get into that perspective is,
what am I taking for granted and how can I romanticize the day?
And my favorite thing to ask myself is, what would make today feel special?
And that's the little thing that you can do that you can slip into your routine that makes today feel special,
even if it's an ordinary, regular day that you have, what can you do that actually makes it feel special?
Stop waiting until your life is perfect and stop thinking I'll be happy when and start finding the things that you can be happy now.
I love you so much. I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I did recording it.
This already made me just so motivated talking about this.
I'm already thinking of all the things I want to do today
to make myself have a more romanticized, exciting routine
that I can easily slip into my daily schedule.
