my dolls welcome back to the busy yet pretty podcast i'm your host jane haley yes i am literally back and i'm recording
this episode in a different location that i always usually have which was my room but now i am proud to say
i am recording it on my floor actually my new apartment i literally cannot believe this there's been so
much since the last time we have spoke. And I'm just so excited to catch you dolls up and really get
back to recording episodes. I really realized how much the podcast means to me when I had to take
this long of a break and not recording because I genuinely just love talking to you guys and
engaging with you guys how you like the episodes. And it made me miss it a lot. So I'm just so happy to
finally be back in recording an episode. But right now, I am not completely set up. I have my chair
holding up my mic right now and sitting on the floor with my computer with no furniture at all.
But I could not wait another week to put out an episode. So I'm going to make it work.
But guys, let's get into today's episode and let me catch you guys up. So as you can tell by the
title. I moved to LA and I know since the last time we spoke, I was speaking about how I wanted
to move and how I was playing on moving here, but I did not really have a plan. So I'm just really
excited to tell you guys my experience and advice. Let's get straight into the weekly review.
So this week, it's more like a monthly review or multiple month review because I feel like I have not
caught you guys up at all. Hopefully you guys have been following me over Instagram and TikTok where
I have been updating every single day on the move and just in general of my busy yet pretty
lifestyle. Basically, this past week slash month, I have just been moving into my new apartment
and the last time I recorded, I was in my hometown and now I am moved into the big city
which I know that's not that far away because I did live in San Diego.
so it's about like two hours drive to get here.
But it honestly is just so much different since I'm not living at home anymore.
But let me just say this was the decision for me.
We will get into all of the moving details very soon.
But this has definitely been the busiest month ever.
I feel like I've nonstop just been doing stuff and haven't really had a relaxing day.
So I'm really excited to be fully moved in and get back on routine.
Being off routine is very hard.
I feel like I manage really well with my mental health and just how I am when I'm on
routine, but I've been very off routine.
So that's been pretty hard.
It's definitely understandable that I've been off routines from moving because with a big
change comes changes.
So I have not been on schedule, but it's,
Okay, when you get thrown off routine, just know you can start back on routine so fast again.
Okay, my current obsession.
So my current obsession is my new apartment, literally obsessed and we'll get into that very soon.
Another career obsession is a ghost kitchen that is located in L.A., which is Goop Kitchen,
a really healthy lifestyle food company.
I think it's one of my favorite restaurants of all time.
It's a ghost kitchen which will deliver to you.
but I am obsessed with it.
They're gluten-free pizza.
It's all gluten-free, and most of it's vegan.
Their veggie pizza is the most insane pizza I've ever had.
It's so amazing.
And also, their fall chopped salad and their butternut squash soup.
I could eat that every single night.
I was obsessed with it.
Another thing I'm obsessed with is lattes.
I am always a macha girl, we know, but lately I have been a little latte girl.
I just love a casual almond milk latte.
It just is so good.
Another current obsession is the cold weather.
I have just been obsessed with the cold weather and feeling like Christmas and the holiday season.
I know it's literally not even Halloween yet.
Tomorrow is Halloween when I'm recording this.
But I seriously am obsessed with the cold weather and I'm just so excited to finally have
colder days, hopefully. California is the worst when it comes to holiday weather because it's just
always feeling hot no matter what. But I feel like this year I have some hope it'll be a little
chillier. Another current session is Christmas music. I have been listening to Christmas music
for the past few weeks already and I know it's not even close to Christmas yet, but I have
started early because I really just want to embrace the holidays and I honestly, I honestly
I honestly could not get enough of it.
I started fall decorations in August, so of course, in mid-October, Christmas starts.
I know it's early, but I'm sorry.
I literally appreciate the holidays so much where I have to start early.
Lastly, I am obsessed with Giselle's Kitchen Brownies.
If you haven't tried Giselle's kitchen items, she has a ton of bakery items, which are so, so good.
and my favorite one is the brownie is gluten-free, vegan and refined sugar-free, and made from chickpeas.
I just truly don't understand how it's that good, but I am obsessed with it, and I've been getting it pretty often from Airwan, but they are like $8 to $10.
So I do have to slow down on them because they are very pricey for a tiny little brownie, but let me just say they are definitely worth the price.
Okay, guys, getting into the goal of the week.
So my goal of the week is to complete unpacking.
I have had quite a hard time, I feel like,
because it's hard to unpack when you don't have much furniture yet.
So I definitely want to complete unpacking once the furniture gets here.
Another thing is I want to start filming more content.
I feel like I've had a really hard time filming content throughout this move.
I really want to go into this move, taking you guys along every single step into moving in and apartments searching and everything.
But I feel like once you're in the moment and it's so busy, it's actually so hard to be able to get proper content because I have definitely been updating over my Instagram and my TikTok, but I haven't got to do a YouTube video yet.
So I really want to do some content soon.
and once everything is all moved in, I'll definitely do some home decor and just an overall
tour of the new apartment. Okay, so another goal of the week is to cook more fall recipes. As I said,
I love the holidays and I am a pumpkin girl. I have no shame. I just really want to cook some more
fall recipes. A few days ago, I made the best gluten-free banana pumpkin bread and it was so
amazing. I truly cannot get enough of it. So I am really excited to make that for Thanksgiving.
And I just gave one of them to my friend and I'm going to give one to my parents today because I made
these like cute little loaves. So those are so good. And you know what you should do this week?
You should bake and give some to your friends and family. I feel like just baking and giving sweet
treats to your friends and family can just be like such a sweet little thing.
thing to do. I've never been given a homemade or handmade thing from someone that I've looked past.
Okay, guys, so another goal of the week is to get back on schedule. As I said, I've been pretty
off routine and moving can definitely throw what you off routine. That's for dang sure,
especially when you are the one who's moving. I used to wake up around 5.30 every single day,
and I've been waking up around like seven to nine every day now.
So I really do miss being an early waking girl and just back on routine is exactly what I'm needing to be.
So I definitely want to work on getting back on routine very soon.
Okay, a self-love question to ask yourself.
Is there something that I'm wanting to do, but I haven't yet?
What's stopping me?
I love that question so much because it really helps you find the root cause.
of what's stopping you from doing what you're wanting to do and what's holding you back.
So really journal that question and take time to think about that.
Okay, guys, an Apple podcast review.
So Sophia left an Apple podcast review and she said,
I swear to God I cannot live without this podcast.
It's just perfect and it makes me feel like an it girl.
It inspires me to be more attentive to my health and my body.
Seriously, Jaden, you have a special place in my heart.
Sophia, that is seriously the sweetest review ever. Thank you so much. That seriously just put a smile on my face saying that I have a special place in your heart. So thank you so much for your kind words. And I am so glad to hear that busy yet pretty has been a positive impact in your life. Okay, guys, a daily affirmation. Success follows me. I just love that simple affirmation because it's literally three words, so simple.
and so easy to affirm, but yet so impactful.
All right, guys, let's get into today's episode.
So to just start off, I cannot believe I am finally moved into my apartment in L.A.,
but let's just take it back and see where this all got started.
I had planned to move in together with the person I was dating at the time,
happened to be where the universe led me to saying how that person was not the person,
that I thought they were. After breaking up with the person I was with, I was just not sure about my plan
anymore because now I'm going solo. I just knew deep down, it would all work out, and this was
the right move to make. And I just kept telling myself that I would 100% be moved in by the fall.
I believed it every single day, and I told other people that I'd be moving in by the fall,
no, I didn't have a plan anymore, but I just knew it. I just knew deep down. I just knew. I
would be moving in by the fall. I'm very familiar with manifestation. As you guys know, I've
grown up manifesting a lot and having the law of attraction be very present in my life and I've
manifested more things than I could ever imagine. And this just really shows how strong the power
of manifestation really is because I said every single day and I tell other people that I am
moving in in the fall. I literally just searched it up right now. The day, the day.
that fall started in 2022. It was September 22nd. On September 22nd, I literally viewed this apartment.
That same week, I signed the lease. And I always said I was moving in in the fall and I literally
the first day of fall toward this apartment and signed the lease a few days later and then moved
into the apartment. Like, that seriously gives me chills because I just kept saying I would move
into my apartment in the fall.
And the first place that I looked at, I ended up moving to.
And it was the first day of fall.
So I just think that's so crazy.
And the law of attraction really works in your way.
And I promise you that.
And I will always tell people that.
And it's your choice to believe if it does or not.
The power of manifesting is just so powerful.
So the first day of fall, I was driving with my mom.
And I was on my way to an event.
And she said, look how cute that.
apartment is. And I was like, oh, that's so cute. I searched it up and we ended up touring that
apartment that day. I signed my lease a week later and I moved in a week after that. And it's so
crazy because I only looked at that one apartment. So I just think it's just so crazy and I'm so
thankful that the universe led me to this apartment because I just couldn't be happier. But I am going to
share my advice and answer some questions. This is questions regarding my experience and also if you
are wanting to move or are moving, this can be really beneficial for you as well. So I didn't realize
how hard moving was and I decided to get all new furniture, which not everybody decides to get new
furniture. Some people bring it from home and I did bring some furniture from home. But most of the
things that I decided to get all new furniture and that's something that I realize is I wish I
had planned ahead of time. Like I said, this was a very short notice moving in. There was no planning
ahead. Literally within a week to two weeks, I was moved in of finding this apartment. And I had
wished that I had known what furniture and style of furniture that I wanted prior to moving in
because it's been really hard to pick what furniture I want to get. It takes a process for
it to ship here and everything. So I have been just sitting on the floor.
with no bed and just laying on like a few blankets because I have no furniture.
So I really recommend if you are moving out and planning to move out is to figure out your
style furniture and what furniture you're wanting to purchase prior to moving out.
So you're really prepared and can order your bed, your table, your desk, everything that you need.
props to my mom because she literally has spent hours every single day trying to find good furniture
and what furniture would be best for me. I'm not the best furniture shopper. I'm not going to lie.
I am a decor girl, but not really a furniture girl. Another thing I would say is don't pack boxes
too heavy when moving because they will open up and things will fall out. And another thing is,
is get bubble wrap. Don't try to avoid getting bubble wrap and wrapping it in paper towels
or paper with glass because it will shatter. I had had one of my favorite plates shattered and that
was so sad. So definitely just stop cutting corners, get the bubble wrap and you will not regret it.
Also, I forgot to say I apologize for any echoing noises in this episode. I am literally in just my
apartment where it's bouncing off the noise because there's no furniture in here. And I'm also
going to start recording in a different area, which it will be video episodes. So be very excited
for that soon. And I'm very excited. Getting back to what I was saying, if you are living at home
right now and wanting to move out, but don't know where to start, write down a list, including the
cost of amenities, cost of living aside from rent. For instance, if you have to pay for car insurance,
write down car insurance, write down the expected amount of costs of groceries, write down the
expected cost of gas and electric, and then subtract that from your income total. And from there,
you'll be able to determine and to choose your budget. Of course, you want extra money. You don't
want all your money going towards rent and amenities. Figure out a plan and the correct budget that works
for you. And if your budget is able to afford an apartment in the area that you're wanting to move,
that's amazing and enter your budget into Zillow, apartment lists, or any apartment website or app,
and start browsing through apartments there and your budget.
I really recommend driving around the area that you're wanting to move to because you're more
likely to see places for rent.
You're more likely to get a better idea of the area and the complex.
It's not accessible for everyone to go to their desired area to move.
If you live in L.A. and you're trying to move to New York, you can't just drive.
drive there that day and look for apartments. It's really good to look online to get an idea,
but also plan a trip out there to go to apartment searching. If your budget is too low after making
the list and you realize that your budget is just not enough to afford somewhere in the area
that you're wanting to live, then I would really say begin to brainstorm how you can reach
a higher budget and start making multiple streams of income. Because that way you'll be able
to start making more money and be able to set a goal because once you start building up your
income, then you'll be able to move out and find your dream place sooner. Another piece of advice
that I really recommend when moving is do a very thorough look through of all your items.
When I was moving, I did a huge look through of every single thing in my room and got rid of so much
which felt so good.
And when you get rid of things, it is just so much nicer because you're holding on to things
that you don't really need and you finally let go of them, you have new space to bring in more
things.
Something that I always think of is if you want a simple, neat space, then less is more.
That brings more of a relaxed mindset and not being so overwhelmed by having things.
I'm a bit of a hoarder, so I literally will have so much clothes.
in my closet. So I really tried to do a look through and be like, what do I really love and what do I
not think I'm going to wear anymore and just donate it or list it on an app to sell it, do anything
just to clear out some more space. Something that I was really worried about when moving was
how I was going to function without seeing my mom every day. My mom is literally my best friend
and I'm so thankful for our relationship. We do every single thing together. I mean like
every single thing together. It was just so hard to imagine not being with her every day.
She's only like a few hours away. But still, I was just really worried about not seeing her
every day because I enjoy my time with her so dearly. Prior to moving, I actually shared over
my Instagram story that I'm going to be missing my mom so dearly. So if anyone had any tips or
advice to share with me, how you guys cope with leaving someone you love while moving. And you
guys shared some really great advice. So a few of my favorite things that I do and other people
gave advice on is text as much as you can, the person that you miss and you love. My mom and I talk
every single second of the day. I will be literally going to the bathroom and like FaceTiming her
and doing the dishes, FaceTiming her. Like I call her so much. And that's another thing,
FaceTime. I faceTime my parents all the time. And another thing is, is plan days you're going to see
them and days out of the weeks, the month. I know it's hard if you do live far from so on, but
try to plan as much as you can to see them in person. Okay, so now time to answer some questions
that I got over Instagram and I am really excited to answer these because I really did like
these questions. So someone asked, how was apartment hunting and how did you know you found the
right one? There was literally barely any apartment hunting because it was the one apartment that
I looked at. It was really the intuition and feeling that I had. I just knew when I was here,
I belonged here. And if you feel off about an apartment, then keep looking until you find that
right one that leaves you feeling complete. If you feel off or something, that means there's
another apartment out there for you. Are you experiencing any anxiety moving away from your parents?
How do you control it? I would say I have no anxiety moving away from my parents because when I
lived with them, I was pretty independent and very capable of doing everything myself, but I definitely
miss them because I did spend every single day with my parents. I definitely face-time my parents
multiple times a day to really just keep close talking with them, and I think that's really important
when moving. Someone asks, will you be getting a pet? I will most likely be bringing Kitty,
which I'm so excited because I miss him so much. And whenever I've gone back home and
had to get more boxes or whatever. I have seen my cat actually like meow at me multiple times because
he like missed me and I was like, oh my gosh. Someone asked, what is your favorite fall meal to cook alone?
Definitely a butternut squash soup and it came out literally so, so good. Someone asked how much
do you spend on groceries a week? I definitely would say it differs. I tried not to go every single
week and I try to grocery shop every week and a half. So I would say it comes out to being around
100 or more or less. It really depends. And that could be also including me just stocking up on
things and trying new food also. So it really depends every single week. Another person asks,
what has been the most challenging? I would definitely say transportation. I do not have my license yet.
I know. I literally don't want to hear it. I was literally planning on getting my license before I
move, but this was so sudden where I had no time to prepare and I am going to be getting my license
so soon. But I have been loving taking Alto, which is one of my favorite safe ways of transportation.
So I really recommend that. They have it in Miami, Houston, Dallas, New York, L.A., and a few other places.
that I'm definitely missing. I really, really recommend it. And if you try it out, definitely use code
Jaden 10 for $10 off your first two rides when you sign up as a member. It's seriously one of the
safest transportation ways, and I really recommend it. Another question is, what is the most
important thing to take care of? I would definitely say my mental health while moving has been
really important to take care of. I've been super stressed out regarding what furniture to get.
just not having any furniture in here has really weighed me down because I feel like I can't even
get on routine without having any furniture. And just adjusting has definitely been pretty hard. So I think
one of the most important things to take care of when moving is your mental health. Another question is,
what style are you going to furnish your apartment? So if you've followed me for a while now,
you know my room has been a pretty busy looking room, really chaotic. And I love,
love that look. I love a 2000s look, but I feel like now that I've moved into a new space,
I really want a clean and white interior look. I love white interior, black interior, and just a lot of
neutral colors I just feel are really classy and chic and just my style right now. If you want to
take a look at more of my type of style that I'm going to be furnishing my apartment with, go look over
my Pinterest under the My Home Board. Someone else asks, do you have any recommendations to buy
good furniture. Honestly, no, that's where I'm struggling right now, but I do know Wayfair has good
furniture. Home goods, Tjamax, and Target also have furniture that is at a more affordable cost,
which I've been looking at, because furniture can be expensive. Trust me, if I could pick all the
furniture I wanted with no price limit, I would be getting the most cutest furniture ever.
Another question is, who do you ask for help when it comes to checking prices, contracts, and other technicalities?
So when moving, I would really recommend talking to your parents or someone who is more experienced with that type of things because they can give their opinion on it.
I ask my parents about questions and I also really recommend asking the leasing office.
Usually the leasing office really can help you with contracts and all of that.
Another question is, how does it feel to finally be moved into your new place?
It's just more than beautiful than I'm finally here.
I'm just so happy to be finally moved to L.A. and finally moved into my literal dream place.
I am just so excited for new opportunities and I adore my apartment.
I adore the city I live in.
And I adore the people I surround myself with.
And I just think it's really about being positive and making sure that you are always thinking positively.
I seriously sometimes look back and I'm like, oh my gosh, like, I'm living exactly the things that I manifested a year ago or a few months ago.
Like when you actually achieve it, sometimes you don't even realize that you were manifesting it and you look back, you're like, wait, I was manifesting this.
or this was on my vision board, but I promise you, if you put your mind to it, and if you work hard,
and if you think positively and surround yourself with amazing, loving people and people who motivate
you and uplift you and you believe in yourself, you will literally achieve anything.
Do not put an expiration date to your goal.
Just focus on achieving everything you want to achieve and working hard, thinking positively,
living life the way you would as if you already achieve the thing you want to achieve, you will
live your dream life and have everything that you would have ever imagined. Anyways, you know what,
guys, we should really do another positivity episode. I think the next episode, feel free to comment
on my recent Instagram post, what episode that you want to hear next. And let's talk about it in the
comment section because I'm trying to decide. I'm kind of thinking I want to do like a really
positivity episode or we should do like a manifesting episode. Okay, next question. How to cope with guilt
moving away from your family. At first, I felt so much guilt. My parents and family were just so
excited for me and could not have been any more supportive, but I still felt bad that I wouldn't
be like physically with them every single day. But what you have the day was really think of it in
their shoes. They would and should want you to follow your goals and your desires and your
dreams. It's so good to grow up. It's so good to evolve. And that's something that was really hard for me
to think about because I just kept being like, oh my gosh, like I'm leaving my parents. This is a precious
time I could be spending with them. Like I shouldn't be moving out. I should be spending time with
them and enjoying every second with them. But you know what? I can still do that over FaceTime,
planning out when I'm going to see them. But I also have dreams and have goals and they want me to
achieve my goals. It's not something to feel guilty about at all. Someone else said,
what was your favorite part about the moving process? I would definitely say having sleepovers with my
mom. For the first, like, few nights, I remember we would stay up so late, organizing and just talking,
and it just made me so happy, like, unpacking. I remember looking at the time was like 2.30 a.m.
And we had, like, music playing, and we were laughing, unpacking boxes. Like, that will be a forever
memory to my heart. Before we would come back for the night to organize, like after dinner,
we'd go to Airwan by like multiple different desserts, then eat them that night while we were
like organizing. That's just so sweet to me. Another person said, do you feel alone sometimes?
Honestly, no. I keep really occupied and really enjoy being an independent person. I love my time
with myself. I never really feel lonely because I enjoy my time with myself.
I think it really depends on the person, but as for me being pretty independent, I never really feel lonely or needing to be with someone or talk to someone.
I just really enjoy, I really enjoy myself care time, if I'm going to be quite honest.
Okay, another question is, what has changed the most since you moved?
I would say realizing how much I need my license and realizing how much I want to become stronger,
physically. I think it's really good to be strong and to be healthy. So I really do think I want to
become stronger physically and get my license. You know, hot girls don't drive, but you know,
hot girls really do drive. That's the truth. It's just hard to, it's hard to accept. I know.
I just have to get my license. So those are all the questions that I want to answer for today's
episode on moving. I want to say I really, really recommend making sure to take care of your mental
health when moving. It's so important because your mental health is always there, regardless of what
you're doing in your life. And if you are not maintaining a healthy mindset throughout changes,
especially changes, I would say, throughout life and changes and moving, all of that can be
really hard. So I really recommend taking time to still stick on routine, which is what I was going to go
into next, is continue as many routines as you have as possible when moving. So making the shift is
easier when moving. Even little things like your five-minute journal, continue doing that when moving.
Of course, it's going to be harder to do the same routines, but just keeping as many routines as
possible while making changes is really important. Also, another thing that I really recommend for
your first night moving into your apartment is treat yourself to a good dinner and a dessert.
I feel like it's so nice to have a little celebratory dinner, just any little thing to celebrate.
It's just super nice and just kicks off the first night. So, so nice. And another thing I really
recommend is playing music, just hang out with your friends in the area that you move to.
so it really doesn't feel like a big shift or a big change or meet new friends.
If you don't know anyone in the area, put yourself out there to meet new people, go start
a workout class.
You can meet new people or go to a cafe.
And if you haven't moved yet, I really recommend affirming to yourself that you are going to move
and you have the most dream apartment that you've always wanted and just really practice
affirmations and manifesting. I will always say this. Manifestation is your key. It's the secret.
The law of attraction is seriously the secret to life and affirming everything that you're wanting
you will have if you believe it yourself. Another thing is a vision board. Create a vision board
of your dream apartment, of your dream city that you want to live in and really build up money
to be able to move, have multiple streams of income so that you can plan on moving.
and finding a place that fits well for you.
Anyways, guys, that's it for today's episode.
I am just so happy to start getting back to talking to you guys again.
It's been way too long and I'm just so excited to have a new beginning.
And even though I've been manifesting for many years in my life,
after I achieve big goals, I still am just shocked about how much I manifest.
in my life. Like, it's seriously crazy. I wrote the sound in my five-minute journal every single day,
and I just cannot believe that I'm here, and everything works as it should. I love you guys so much.
Please remember you can achieve anything that you put your mind to. Please feel free to leave a
rating over Spotify. We hit 2,000 ratings, and I'm so thankful. Thank you guys so much,
and leave an Apple podcast review to be featured on next week's episode. Also, if you guys share over
