Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. I am truly so excited about
today's episode because I am just truly feeling these emotions where I feel like not only didn't I need this,
but you guys need this. But without further ado, let's get into our weekly review. This week,
I decided to come back home and take time off from work and just be with my family. And it was so unbelievably
needed, which we will get into how you guys can incorporate that into your life. But I have just
been at home right now. I'm at the comfort of my parents' house and I've been on the couch and just,
you know, enjoying stepping away from work for a little bit. And it's been so nice and needed. I went
thrifting a lot and I feel like I have so many new exciting pieces to wear. I'm just so into the
really classy like Sophia Richie style. So I'm so excited to come home and just,
have new clothes to wear. I went thrifting with my dad and brother a lot. I went garage sailing,
which is something I always used to do when I lived here. And I also been trying new cafes and
restaurants with my parents and honestly just trying to maintain my schedule in a different environment.
I've been so used to doing my work at my house and it's been so nice to try to switch up my schedule
and it feel like it's been so needed. I'm just so happy I decided to come home for the week because
I feel so recharged and happy.
Moving on to my current obsession.
So my current obsession is thrifting in the Goodwill Bins since I moved to L.A.
I don't know why, but I have not gone thrifting at all, like literally at all.
And if I did, it was just like once or twice.
So I instantly started thrifting once I got back to San Diego for the week.
And I found such good items.
Like, I forgot how good thrifting is.
Honestly, it's really motivating me to start thrifting again, and I really want to start more listings over Deepop.
Another current obsession is listening to the birds.
They're just so beautiful and so sweet, and it truly just fills my soul with so much joy.
I realize there is like no birds in L.A.
And if there is, I'm not hearing it because I'm in a high rise, but it's making me really miss nature.
So coming back home and listening to the birds have been something that has truly fed my soul so much.
Another current obsession is catering to my soul, whether that's doing little childhood activities or doing little old things.
I don't know. I just really love to cater to my soul and do things that make me truly happy.
That's something we're going to dive deep into today's episode with.
Another current obsession is yogurt bowls and fresh fruit.
Literally my favorite.
They are honestly my favorite snack, breakfast, lunch, dessert.
I love it.
I love yogurt bowls with fresh fruit.
so divine. My favorite fruit right now are the gooseberry. I don't even know how to compare it.
It just is a little orange like fruit and it's so good. I love them. And lastly, I am currently
obsessed with embracing every waking moment of my life. I forget how much life goes by so fast
and we don't even see it until we look back. I remember being younger. I remember being a child and
it feels like just yesterday. So I just really want to make sure to embrace every moment
that is available to me in my life and every waking second in my life because life goes by too fast
not to enjoy things. I thought of this quote in my head and I'm sure there's something like that
very similar out there but I thought of this and I felt like it just related so much to me and it
can to you guys but if you become too focused on the destination you'll forget to enjoy the climb.
I just feel like that resonated with me so much and it can to you guys as well because it is so
true if we just think so much on the destination and yes we have our goals yes we have our dream
life but we can sometimes forget to actually enjoy the climb the steps it took to get to that position
and then once you get there you're going to wish that you enjoyed that climb a little bit more
and enjoy taking those steps and even if they aren't ideal things like every single thing you have
to do to get to the point you want to be it doesn't matter because that is a stepping stone that you
should appreciate. So I just love that so so much. Moving on to my goal of the week. My goal of the week is to
get back onto schedule after being gone for a while. I'm heading home very soon and I'm just ready
to get back on schedule, background routine and I feel truly recharged and so motivated now, which is
very exciting where I kind of left feeling very and motivated and really knew if I came back home
it would be the perfect time for me to recharge.
So I'm just so ready to get back onto work and I'm very excited.
Another cold week is to list items on Deepop or Poshmark.
I have so many clothes that are so cute,
but I think I'm going to have a sale at the Melrose Trading Post soon.
So if you are in L.A., make sure to stop by because I would love to see you.
But I really want to start listing more items of clothing for you guys to shop.
and honestly, I just love to see an item of clothing reworn to someone else.
I just think it's so beautiful and every piece of item has a story.
Another goal of the week is to practice getting my permit.
I need to take a permit test and I need to have my driver's license.
And I didn't realize how much of a toll it would take on me until almost a year have gone by now of living in L.A.
And I'm like, wow, if I had had my license, I could have done so much.
So I really do want to get my license soon and I need you guys as my motivator.
I really need to set this as a goal to get and I'm actually going to really, really try to dial into it this week.
My last goal of the week is to continue doing a workout in my daily steps.
I really do see a difference in my mood, in my physical and mental health when I get in my daily steps or workout and it really just feels so rewarding and good.
So I'm really wanting to prioritize that.
and really incorporate it every single day, simple, not doing too much or too little,
but just every little day adds something of daily movement.
Moving on to my affirmation of the week.
I wake up every day to the life that I desire.
I love that so much because it is so good to affirm that
because if you keep affirming that, you will eventually wake up to the life that you desire.
Next is the challenge.
Take time to cater to your soul and do
childish activities that bring you comfort.
I love that so much because it is so important to cater to her soul and we're really going to
talk about that in today's episode, all about recharging.
Moving on to a podcast review.
And if you want to be featured on next week's episode, feel free to leave a podcast review
over Apple Podcasts.
Hello, Jaden.
Before I started listening to Busy at Pretty, I cried every morning because I did not want to
do anything with my life.
I went to school miserable and came home disappointed with myself.
I told myself that I would fix myself up next year. When I started listening to the Busy
at Pretty Podcast, it made me realize why wait? It's never too late to turn my life around. Now I live a
life I cannot wait to get up to. You seriously saved me in every way a person can be saved.
Thank you so much, Jaden, and I hope you make so many other people as happy as you made me.
I have to say, and I know I always say this, but this is one of my favorite reviews ever. Just
made my heart feel so happy and I'm just so proud of you.
Asking yourself why wait is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself
in so unbelievably life-changing.
I am just so beyond proud of you and you have such a busy yet pretty life ahead of you.
Without further ado, let's get into today's episode.
Today's episode is on, it's time to recharge.
And you may be thinking, what do you mean by recharge?
I have, I'm just way too busy.
no. Recharging is for everyone. Whether you are the busiest person in your life or the non-busiest person,
and you have nothing going on in your life, everyone needs time to recharge. I feel like I've really been
experiencing lately a lot of stress from work and a lot of things and just not allow time to
sit with my mind. And I realized that I began to forget to recharge and feel not just my mind and
body but my soul and catering to your soul is one of the most important things you can do. Catering to
your soul will allow you to last longer for the task you have to do to be more productive and to
overall feel better in life. You may be the person who's go, go, go, and you just don't stop
and just take a breath, whether that's with school or work or just daily task that you have.
Eventually, you are going to get burnt out and run yourself to exhaustion. And I swear,
you will begin to despise the job you're loving or school or daily task. You will absolutely hate it and look at it so negatively if you don't allow yourself to recharge. In order to thrive with productivity and maintain a healthy mindset, especially with your mind, body, and soul, you need to prioritize recharging. We are literally built like a phone and you have to think of yourself this way. When your battery is low, you will perform task at lower effort. When your phone dies, it's not a
to perform slash work anymore. You should think of it the same way as you. When you are burnt out,
you are not able to perform anymore your task. You have to stop thinking that you're superhuman,
okay? Nobody in this world is superhuman. We are all just trying our best and I promise you
there will be a point where you will no longer be able to put any effort into your task,
work, job, school, or anything if you just don't stop to recharge. I knew I was in desperate need,
to recharge when I found myself waking up the past few weeks or days where I'm dreading to wake
up to do my work. And I just couldn't understand why because I love what I do. I absolutely am in love
with the life that I live. I have the best job. I have the best apartment. I have the best family
supporters, everything. I have everything that I could have ever dreamed of. But why am I waking up
dreading to do my daily task so much? I took time to switch a few things in my life. I took time to switch a few
things in my life and my daily habits. It improved my mind, body, soul, productivity, motivation,
and my daily emotions by just recharging, whether that's once a day, once a week, once a month.
I want to share some ideas in ways you are able to recharge yourself and to reset your emotions
for school, work, daily task in life because you may be thinking, I hate my school, I hate my job,
I hate my task. It's gone so hard. It's so stressful. And I can guarantee you a large percentage of that comes from you not taking time to recharge.
The first step that you should take to start recharging your mind, body, and soul is to reflect on what you both enjoy and you crave.
And usually things that you enjoy would be for your soul. So what does your soul need? What does your soul enjoy? What do you feel happy about? What do you feel satisfied from?
And then for the need aspect and what you crave would be things for your mind and body.
So that's proper nutrition, doing daily movement, daily essentials in your life to have a healthy, happy life.
But really dive deep and try to think what do you enjoy in life?
You may be one who is super independent and spend most of your time around people working at school or working from an office or just around a lot of people,
dedicate that time to your independence.
I really miss being away from my family and they live in San Diego.
I live in L.A. if you're new to the podcast.
And I really did make the effort to recharge for myself despite knowing I had so much work to do.
Yes, I have a lot of work to do.
Yes, I have a lot of things to do back home.
But I knew that in order for me to be productive, I have to recharge.
And right now, our charging means stepping away from work and coming back home for a bit.
Those things would feed my soul and make me more productive at the end of the day with my work.
I was craving time to recharge when I was trying to do my work.
I couldn't focus.
I was procrastinating.
I was putting things off.
So I knew that if I'd come back home for a week and just recharge and actually take time to cater to my soul,
I will come back to do that work 10 times more productive than I was doing initially.
And let me just tell you just from recharging for a week back home, I'm so ready to get.
back onto my work. I'm excited to do my work. I truly refueled that motivation that I was completely
lacking by recharging. So you may be thinking to yourself, sound like I need a recharge,
and you don't really know how to do it. This is something that I think is really important for you
to realize that recharging looks different on everyone. Recharging should be what makes you feel
nurtured for your mind, body, and most importantly, your soul. Recharging doesn't have an aesthetic.
It doesn't have a certain amount of time. It doesn't have a certain amount of time. It doesn't have
a location because recharging to you should be what makes you feel good.
Recharging to you doesn't mean it has to be a week or three days.
This could even be a small habit that you incorporate in your day-to-day life that truly
caters to your soul and recharges you.
I am beyond excited for today's partner, which is Athletic Greens.
I take AG1 by Athletic Greens literally every day.
I gave AG1 a try because I just wanted to increase my energy and focus on my gut health.
I take AG1 in the morning before starting my day and it makes me feel so motivated and like I'm giving my body the nutrition it craves.
Vitamins can be so difficult and hard to figure out which ones to take,
but why take a bunch of different things when you can just mix one scoop of powder and water once a day?
After taking AG1, I really quickly noticed that my digestion was just so much better
and I found it to be so convenient than taking multiple different vitamins throughout the day.
As you guys know, I am such a busy yet pretty girl and I try to make everything fit into my schedule,
which is where AG1 has been so convenient taking my daily vitamins and it just is now part of my routine.
My AG1 is delivered to me every month, so it just has been the easiest time making it a daily habit.
If you're looking for an easier way to take supplements, Athletic Greens is giving you a free one-year supply of vitamin D
and five free travel packs with your first purchase.
Go to athletic greens.com slash pretty.
That's athletic greens.com slash pretty.
Check it out.
So as I said, reflect and nurture your soul.
Don't view recharging as what you may see on social media, which is meditating, breath work, going on vacation, buying new clothes, getting a facial, getting your nails done.
Yes, that is a great way for other people to recharge.
But you know what?
That doesn't make you feel good.
Then that's not recharging and that's adding another task onto your list.
You should be doing what makes you feel good.
If going on a bike ride and listening to the birds make you feel good, then that's your way of recharging.
If seeing your mom and meeting her for breakfast is your way of recharging, then make plans once a week to have breakfast with your mom.
We tend to idolize and glamorize aesthetics, and don't get me wrong, I love it.
I love to have my little Pilates look, my little classy, busy yet pretty life.
And I love that aesthetic.
But you have to remember, this is what I like.
and I know a lot of you guys like this as well, but there is no right and wrong answer to
recharging.
Recharging should be what makes you feel good at the end of the day when you're going to bed.
Did you have a good day?
Are you enjoying that at the present moment?
Did you have a good time doing that?
If getting your nails done feels like the worst task ever to you, why would you get your nails done?
That is not a way to recharge for yourself.
If meditating maybe is your way to recharge, then start meditating.
do things that you like, not according to an aesthetic that you see online or trying to fit in with
the wellness lifestyle, there is no right or wrong to recharging. What you see online should be used as
inspo and ideas, not as a correct answer. What you see on social media is not the correct
answer and you have to really think about that. Some people recharging may be a really high-intensity
workout class. For me, that is not recharging. Recharging to me,
is listening to the birds, taking a walk outside.
Recharging to you may be really catering to your soul
and eating a childhood meal that you like,
sleeping in, a facial, bath, day trip, sing your family,
or even time alone.
You guys know I love my little drink every single time I record.
And today's drink is my favorite,
which is my chocolate electrolyte drink mix from Element.
It has no junk, no sugar, no coloring, no artificial ingredients,
no gluten, no fillers, which is everything that you want in a drink.
Their most recent flavor, grapefruit salt is a favorite. So good.
But honestly, my chocolate one is my favorite because it tastes like a sea salt chocolate.
I love that element is for everyone, whether you like going to the gym, the sauna, or a big sweater.
Anyone and everyone can have element.
All you have to do is mix the flavorful electrolyte drink mix into your water bottle and you're good to go.
I love incorporating it into my daily routine.
but I want you guys to try Element yourself.
So I have a special offer for you guys,
which is a free sample pack with any purchase using the link in my show notes.
And if you don't like Element, Element will send your money back.
So again, a free sample pack with any purchase using the link in my show notes.
Find what reflects to your soul the most.
I really encourage you to write one full page after listening to this episode or later today,
what a great day looks like to you.
And it's easy to think of school or work in the back of your head and trying to be mindful of it to plan around that and really think a great day to me would be going to the pool and then doing my homework after so I feel caught up.
Which is why I want you to not be mindful of school, work, or any task that you have when you're writing this page.
Really think what would cater to your needs.
Not what would benefit your productivity or get you closer to your goals.
but what would a dream day look like to you that you would truly feel recharged by?
And overall would just be a day that really hugs you back.
After writing that page out, begin to incorporate sections of what you wrote out in your daily life.
Do this not for anything or anyone but your soul.
When you take action and really take time to recharge,
make it a priority to drop the stress that's subconsciously in your mind about work or school or your task,
and let go of that. You are not able to fully recharge if you are thinking about other things in your mind.
Once stress is clouding your head, that's all you're going to think about it, and that's not time to recharge,
and it just is a waste of time. You have to be free in the moment and actively be present in your mind and body.
If you don't know what recharging looks like on you, it's super important to try new things.
Maybe you discover that pottery is a new way for you to recharge.
Maybe going to an amusement park is a really nice way for you to recharge.
recharge, maybe taking 10 minutes a day to do a little facial at the time for you to recharge.
Do what makes you feel your best.
That's what life is all about.
Life isn't about how successful we were in our job.
It isn't about the nicest house that we had.
What car do we have?
Or how rich can we get?
I'm going to break the news to you that life isn't about reputation or material things.
Because when we die, we don't leave with our material items.
We don't leave with the car we had.
We don't leave with all the money we had.
We don't leave with the successful job we had.
What we leave with is our soul and how we catered our soul.
How were we as a person?
How did we live our life and view things as a person?
How did we enjoy our life?
I really want you to think about this.
And when you hear it for the first time,
you're going to be like, you just said it's not about money.
Be rich in your life.
Not financially.
What I mean by that is richness in your life.
as in abundance rich in your life of love rich in life of your family rich in life of peace rich in life from food
be rich in your life from the things around you not meaning money i'm talking about the things
right in front of you what is so rich in your life maybe you have a really supportive family
you are so rich in support in your family maybe where you live has a ton of flowers you are so rich in
flowers in nature in your life. Life is about loving ourselves, loving others, and catering to
our soul. It's in your hands to fill the empty cups in your life. If you are craving something
in your life, fill it. Fill that cup and fill those voids with whatever makes you happy and
makes you a better person. I hope you guys enjoyed today's episode. I had such a lovely time
recording this because I feel I am really trying to prioritize for charging and I know that you
guys are wanting an episode on this as well. So I hope you guys enjoy today's episode. If you guys
want to be featured on next week's episode, please feel free to leave a podcast review over Apple
podcasts. I always love to read your guys' review off and hear how the podcast has helped you. Also,
please share over your Instagram story and TikTok to be reposted and allow others to find the show.
I love you guys with all my heart and I'm so thankful for the support you guys show. I want
you guys to remember you have to take time to recharge to be a better you and don't forget to stay
busy yet pretty.
