Starting point is 00:00:10 Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. I'm not going to lie, I am just so excited for today's episode because I feel like it's starting to actually feel like summer now. So this topic just makes me so excited. Without further ado, let's get into today's weekly review. I've been doing so much research on doctors and what is going to best suit me. As you guys know, I've been struggling with the worst hormonal imbalance symptoms and just a loss of period for over a year now. So I have been really wanting to try to get that in order and really make sure I'm being healthy. And I officially found a place where I'm just so excited that I can now start going to and it's for all women. So I'm just very excited. Another thing this week is I've been really trying to focus on structure. I found it to be so important on just really trying to focus on having a schedule and making sure I'm prioritizing my mental health and my self-care on top of my work. If you don't schedule out that time for yourself and self-care and self-love and just that free time, then you won't be able to perform as well for your task and work.
Starting point is 00:01:17 So I found that to be super important, as well as going out of my comfort zone. I've been really trying to try out new things and switch up my schedule, and I feel like it's just so nice and refreshing when you go out of your comfort zone and find something that you like, and I just find it so rewarding, and I really encourage you guys to try to do that this week. Another thing this week is I've been really trying to prioritize my physical activity, which I found to be so important. And I feel like I sometimes make excuses for myself, whether this is for school or work. And if you know what's good for you, then do it.
Starting point is 00:01:52 You always have time. It all depends on what you prioritize. I wasn't prioritizing physical activity as much as I wanted to. And this week, I've been really trying to incorporate that back into my routine. and let me just say it's been so rewarding always the first step is the hardest but i promise you once you take that first step it leads you to just a smooth way from there now moving on to my current obsessions my current obsession right now is cafe hopping i literally love cafe hopping i will literally go to multiple cafes in one day and get like a macha an americano a latte just because i love to
Starting point is 00:02:31 just try new atmospheres and I just love working at cafes. I feel like working at cafes. I'm just so much more productive than working at home. So I just love working at cafes and it just is so nice and relaxing. Another current obsession is being mindful of my peace. I have been really trying to focus on trying to balance my cortisol levels and just really incorporating peace and wellness into my life where I have time of just downtime and nothing's. scheduled out where when I say I want structure, I don't necessarily mean everything planned out to a tea. It's more of I want an overall planned out day. So I know when I have my free time and in my free time I will not schedule exactly what I'm going to do for self-care, but more of what am I feeling,
Starting point is 00:03:19 just allowing me to have this time open and free. So I'm called to do whatever I feel like when the time comes. Another current obsession is that neutral sweaters. I know we are entering summer, but Why am I just obsessed with neutral sweaters? Whether I'm wearing it in the evening or just tying it around my shoulders for during the day, I feel like it just dresses up and outfit so perfectly and it adds so much, so much personality and so much, I don't know. Just I love it. I love the look.
Starting point is 00:03:49 It's so classy and chic. Starting point is 00:05:27 outside when I guasha. I love guashaing my face because it literally just leaves my skin having so much less water retention. It feels so much more tighter. So I love doing it. I will do in the evening and the morning and it just feels so, so nice. I love how it gives me such a sculpted look without doing anything at the spa and just literally doing this at home. Moving on to a goal of the week. My goal of the week right now is a prioritized outdoor time. The sun is shining here. I'm feeling so good. I honestly would never thought I'd say this, but I got sunburned the other day and I was so happy, actually, which is so bad. But I was happy because I knew the sun was out and it just made me feel so good. But whether that's a walk outside or just tanning outside and just walking outside,
Starting point is 00:06:18 getting fresh air, having breakfast outside, it's made such an impact on my days. and just feeling like it starts my day off on such a good note or it's such a nice like refresher and breather to just step outside. So that is something that I really want to continue this week and from here on out. Moving on to another goal to week, which is to plan a closet sale. I really, really, really want to plant a closet sale specifically in San Diego in L.A. So I'm just so excited to get that going. I'm not going to even lie.
Starting point is 00:06:49 I had a huge spring clean out of my closet. I look through the closet at my home plus the closet back home at my parents' house of mine. And when I tell you, I got rid of so many completely filled trash bags of clothes ready to be born by another person. So I'm really excited to get a sale going soon. Another thing this week is I really want to continue working on my driver's license. Guys, when I get my license, I think it is going to be a national holiday at that point because I, I have been saying this forever. If you followed me for years now, you know I've been saying this for much too long.
Starting point is 00:07:30 So I'm just so excited to finally give my license when I do. And you guys know I will be posting a photo over Instagram the day I get my license. So stay tuned for that. And my last goal of the week is to be organized and just have a clear mind. When I have a very minimal lifestyle of no clutter and just having more structure, I swear it allows me to actually be able to take a breath and feel calm. So I really encourage you. Try to be mindful of that and try to live a more clear-minded lifestyle and to be more organized.
Starting point is 00:08:04 Moving on to an affirmation. My life is unraveling exactly how I imagined it. I truly love that affirmation so much and I really encourage you to journal that affirmation. Moving on to a self-love question to ask yourself. What have you accomplished recently that your younger? self would have been proud of. I love that so much because I think of so many things of when I was younger a few years ago or since I was younger that I would have been blown away to hear where I am now and it just feels so inspiring so really take time to acknowledge that. Moving on to a challenge of the week.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Take a day to go to a cafe to work independently. I love that so much because I do it all the time and I swear, it just feels so nice when you go to a cafe, work hard, and you just reflect and see how much you were able to get done. And without further ado, let's get into today's new episode, which is on Create the Best Summer Yet and Upgrade to a Better You. I'm just so excited for this episode because it is finally feeling like summer. Honestly, let's just get straight into it. For anyone listening, this does not regard having family, having friends, having money.
Starting point is 00:10:15 This is all about creating the best summer. for yourself of your situation. We tend to think of summer as one look, which is always being with friends, going out, vacationing, or all the typical summer activities, but you have to remember that what may be fun to someone else or maybe affordable or realistic for someone else may not be for you as well, or vice versa, where something may be realistic and affordable to you, but not to your friends. Having the quote, best summer is all what you make of it. Maybe you're not someone who likes the party, then why would you go force yourself to go to all the summer parties?
Starting point is 00:10:50 Personally, an ideal summer day to me would be laying by the pool, relaxing, listening to music, making brunch with my family, and having it outside, listening to the birds, having glowing skin with no makeup, a green juice. All of those things are something that would make me happy on a summer day. And if I look back at that, honestly, that did not cost really any money. Yes, of course, I'd love to go on vacation, and that may be a plan for me for this summer, but it doesn't mean that you have to go on vacation or you have to go to parties, or you have to be constantly spending money in order to have a fun summer. As I was saying about the typical summer activities of partying and going out, someone else may find partying and drinking, which is a typical, quote, summer fun activity as something as they like to do and look forward to. or maybe going out of the country to an island that you can't even pronounce is something that you really enjoy. And let me just say, if you can't pronounce the island, then most likely it costs quite a bit of money to go there. I bet. So if you don't have the funds for that, don't feel bad and sad that you're not going to have a fun summer because it's all of what you make of it yourself.
Starting point is 00:12:01 You have to remember that your summers don't have to look like what you feel obligated to do to have fun. What will make you happy this summer? Allow yourself to think about that and really think what will make you have the best summer yet. But when you ask yourself that question, really try to be realistic with yourself. What are you able to afford? How does your situation look in life? Who are you friends with? Is it easy to go see your family?
Starting point is 00:12:27 Be realistic with yourself so you can actually set realistic plans that will make your summer good. If I could, I'd be traveling to every single island going to all places in the world this summer. but that is not realistic for me because I don't have all the money to do that. So maybe I'll instead book one little vacation or a little day trip or something for me to have a little vacation without spending all this money that I don't have. I'm honestly so sick of people labeling certain things as fun as to be whatever they like to do. It truly amazes me to see how many people actually forget the world doesn't revolve only around them and how their form of fun looks different on them to someone else.
Starting point is 00:13:10 So people will say, oh, that's a boring summer or that's a fun summer, just regardless of their own opinion. It doesn't matter if your summer looks so boring to the girl you went to school with. Because you know what? At least you are enjoying your summer and she can enjoy hers. Because why would you want to do something that is labeled fun that wouldn't even bring you joy at the end of the day? Whether you're looking for a calm, peaceful summer.
Starting point is 00:13:35 or a summer full of parting and going out, this episode is to remind you that, quote, fun is what you make of it. I personally feel like summer is the best time to work on your physical and mental health. I assume you have more free time as you did. Even if you're still in school or you're working, I assume you still have a little more free time on your hands than you did before summer. Which is why I truly feel it is the best time to work on your physical and mental health during summer, along with furthering, yourself and self-improvement towards being with your career, your goals, or anything that you truly want to work on. Before you start complaining how you're not traveling around the world and you're not being able to do all the quote fun things that your friends are doing,
Starting point is 00:14:20 you have to remember that you have to use this summer wisely. You know deep down what the form of fun means to you and what is truly best for yourself. I know I find scrolling on TikTok for hours fun for me, but honestly, it's not the best for me. It's not good for my eyes. It's not good for my health. It's not good for my mental health. It just is not overall good for me. Although I have fun, it's not the best for me. So you know deep down what is best for yourself. Old you maybe would have gone out nightly, talked to as many toxic guys as possible, partied all night and didn't care about yourself or incorporate any self-care into your life. Maybe you had bits of fun doing it. here and there, but honestly, you know, deep down, it wasn't good for you. You may have made those
Starting point is 00:15:07 choices because you thought obligated to do it since everyone around you did, or maybe you actually did like it, but in the end of the day, maybe you were feeling like you weren't actually taking care of yourself and, you know, deep down, you weren't actually feeling good doing those choices, and now you can see you actually weren't taking care of yourself properly. But the new you is going to take care of yourself and cater to both of your well-being and whatever form of fun means to you. So maybe you do really like partying and going out,
Starting point is 00:15:37 which is totally fine. But don't go out maybe every night and allow yourself to have some nights in so you can have self-care and focus on yourself. Every day I wake up, I am just wanting to have a really good productive day. I like to keep my mind sharp. If you're busy and constantly on the go like me,

Starting point is 00:16:56 that make you happy, even if they're not the best for you. But I'm trying to say, do everything in moderation and take care of both your happiness and fun, as well as your well-being. But like I said, balance. Let's say you have a huge love for always traveling, and you know it kind of wears you down, and it allows you to not actually be organized or feel structure in life because you're always on the go, then maybe this year travel a little less and have more time at home. I'm not saying to cut out traveling, but I'm saying to cut out maybe a few trips that you would usually take to allow yourself to have more time at home.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Maybe your situation is you're out of school, you're out of work, and you're really just spending your summer with a free schedule, but you're also someone who needs to feel occupied and to always be doing something. That is okay and understandable because let me tell you, you are lacking structure. You had structure when you were in school. You had structure when you were working. So when you have this free time and realize that you have no clue what to do and you're feeling sad and lonely and just unsure of what to do, you're lacking schedule and occupation. So use this summer wisely to figure out what hobbies make you happy and overall how you like to fill your time. So this summer you may discover that you love to read. You love walking with your friends.
Starting point is 00:18:18 You love gardening. You love pottery classes. You love trying new sports out. There is no better time to try things out than now. And I assume you have extra time now since it's summer, so use this time to your advantage. Another thing is, be extremely mindful to what does and does not bring you joy. You have to remember that you only live once, and that is one time. Live your life how you want.
Starting point is 00:18:46 If your form of fun looks different than your friend's form of fun, that is fine. Cater to your own self. Stop doing things or feeling obligated to have a summer that everyone else has. At the end of the day, we all just want a fun summer. So fun is what you define as yourself. Some ways to spend your time with others this summer, so if you're surrounded with family and friends, I would really recommend doing brunch or dinner with a little conversation game.
Starting point is 00:19:13 I have the cutest little bonding cards in my Amazon storefront that I love playing. They just make me so happy. Another thing you could do is have a fun swimming pool day, go on a walk and discuss gratitude. I love having gratitude walks. It makes me just so happy and I will just walk around with my mom and we will just say things that we're grateful for. Another thing I recommend is hiking with your friends and family, Pilates class, going to a concert and having sleepovers, a picnic, beach yoga, spiritually active. So that could be like a manifestation group, meditation or sound bath classes. or maybe the summer you're spending it more independently and don't have family and friends in the area.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Then I really recommend going to get your nails done, going to the spa. Take yourself to go flower picking. Have an art class, go to a pottery class, a paint class. Also taking group classes like that will allow you to meet more people with your interests so you can have more friends and have more of a community. Another thing you can do independently is bake. Bake at home, get the ingredients, try out new recipes, cook, go through. thrifting and shopping, go on a solo vacation or a day trip, go on a self-date, or start reading,
Starting point is 00:20:28 journaling by the pool, begin a new hobby, or work towards your goals. So if you do have all this free time, use it wisely and do it to cater to both your fun and to your well-being. Whatever your summer looks like, romanticize you summer and romanticize it to the version you desire. We have to be realistic. We can't go on all the vacations on the world and go shopping and, you know, and, you'll spend all this money that we don't have and this episode was to give you advice on how you can work

Starting point is 00:22:25 even having money at all. It's all about how you choose to create your life and what you make out of the situation you have. Pinterest is a great way to find inspo on summer activities and try to find more hobbies and things to kind of romanticize your summer with and finding some good ideas on how to spend your summer. I personally love going on Pinterest to kind of find inspo for my lifestyle and for plans and I'm kind of feeling at a rut and not really feeling excited about anything or motivated. So I really do recommend doing that. But something you are not going to do is compare your life to others. Don't you dare bring your life situation to the girl you see from school posting all of her
Starting point is 00:23:04 vacation she's going on and all her fun summer plans or all your favorite influencers posting all the shopping trips they go on because you do not know anyone else's situation but yourself. So stop comparing your summer and trying to victim. to not have a good summer. Create the summer that you want. You can have a good summer regardless of who is in your life if you have a boyfriend, if you have friends, if you have family, or if you even have money at all. Make this a summer for you and a summer for you only. Do what caters to yourself best and will make you truly happy at the end of the day. There is no such thing as a rulebook
Starting point is 00:23:42 to have a best summer. Having a best summer is what fits good to you and brings you joy.
