Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy at Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jane and Haley. I hope you all have been doing lovely as always. I know last week there was no episode and I'm actually recording at night right now. It's about 9 o'clock, which is my bedtime. Yes, I go to bed early. It is the best for me, my sleep schedule when I go to bed around like 9.30, but I want to record an episode right now. So, what?
Why not? I have my Ken Euphorix with me. If you don't know what Kenyphorics is, it's Bella Hadid's
like kombucha brand. It's not necessarily kombucha. What is it? I'm reading it right now.
It says lightweight grounding calm kin euphorics, a functional beverage for modern rituals.
Dietary supplement. It really doesn't say what it. It's not really like kombucha, I guess.
Hope that was some good ASMR. It's really good in ritual.
and vitamins. So I was like, why not drink it? Because it's for a little nighttime beverage where
it kind of like calms your mind. So it has like ginger in it. Anyways, got off on a tangent right there.
But I have my can you forks with me. I am very, very, very excited to talk to you guys today.
I feel like whenever I skip a week and I'm not able to record, it feels like forever.
and I just miss talking because it feels like I'm like having a conversation with you guys,
which I love when you guys say it feels like you're on FaceTime with your best friend or
like me or whatever when you listen to the podcast. It just makes me so happy.
I just want to be as personal as possible. So I just really love when you guys feel that the
podcast is personal. Anyways, let's get started on the weekly review. So this week,
This week has been very different and it's been an off week and I kind of got out of my routines
and which is totally okay.
Nobody's perfect.
Everyone's going to slip from their routine once in a while, especially when things happen
and, you know, you're in a little slump.
That's okay.
But you know what?
It only took me a few days to get back on my feet.
But that's been the mood overall, you know, was out of really.
routine and getting back on my feet and feeling great and gratitude.
So this week I went to Rooftop Reformer Pilates, which was so cool.
And I went to natural Pilates at the West Hollywood location.
And I think they have like three location, one in Beverly Hills, one in, is it Studio
City or is it I don't really remember?
And then they have one in West Hollywood.
They had like three locations and it just is the nicest Pilates place ever.
I am just so happy I went because I'm definitely going there all the time now when I move.
Anyways, I did rooftop reformer Pilates and it looked over all of us Hollywood, which was super nice, super cute.
Love the air just like breezing through your hair when you're doing the reformer Pilates.
And the instructor was so sweet.
everyone there was just so, so kind. But anyways, loved, loved Reformer Pilates. Okay, after Reformer Pilates, though, I did cryotherapy. I've never done it before and I was pretty scared. But my friend actually said she was with me and stuff and she said she's done it before. So I was like, okay, I guess I'll do it. And for some reason I thought you had to be in there for like 20 minutes. But I guess like after 20 minutes,
You're only supposed to stay in for about like three to five minutes.
And I stayed in for two minutes, which I felt was pretty good for my first time.
I loved it.
I love cryotherapy.
And I think it's supposed to really help your muscles and not feel sore.
And I remember just feeling like super good that day.
So cryotherapy is amazing.
If you have the opportunity to try it, definitely do.
Next up, I went to the Goodwill bins in San Bernardino.
And every single time I go to.
of the Goodwill bins. I always leave with a huge trash bag of stuff. They seriously have so many good
pieces there. I mean, you got to go digging. You got to be okay with germs and stuff because I will
literally put half my body inside the big bins. I'll do anything for a cute little vintage piece.
I left with so many good pieces and I'm truly just obsessed with the bins. I think there's a few
different locations, but the San Bernardino one never misses. Lastly, this week I would say I just
took it easy. I mean, I was in a little slump for a few days, which is okay. I feel everyone gets
those. Nobody's perfect. And I kind of just took the week to rest. But you know what? I'm doing a lot
better. And back on my routine, I'm super grateful for everything in life. And there's a lot of fun,
exciting opportunities to come. So there is nothing to be down about and be excited about your life
and all the opportunities that are going to come your way. Okay. Now moving on to my current
obsessions. So my current obsession right now is nut butter from Trader Joe's. I literally fell in love
with it because it has, okay, I've been on a peanut butter kick like a lot. I'll go through a jar of
peanut butter in a week, which is maybe normal. I don't really think it's that normal to go through
that much in a week, but I'm obsessed. It's so good. But anyways, I saw people on TikTok talking
about nut butter from Trader Joe's and I was like, okay, let's try it. It's amazing. It has like all
different type of nuts. I think it's like macadamia nuts, um, cashews, almonds, Brazil nuts,
peanuts. Me literally trying to think of other nuts. I can't anyways, but it has like all different
ones inside it and it kind of just makes like a nut butter spread. So kind of like peanut
butter, but not just peanuts. Sorry, I just like woman-splained right there. I started to woman
Splane right there. Oh my gosh. Anyways, but love Nut Butter from Trader Joe's. One of my favorite
items there now. Okay, moving on is my new pink silk robe that I thrifted at the bins. I love it.
It's the most perfect color pink. The tag is gorgeous. There's no snags in it at all. I actually
found it at like one of the like pretty down far in one of these bins at the Goodwell.
bins and I was just so excited. I threw it in my car and it was probably about 50 cents and I would just
so excited over it. I actually linked a very, very similar one off my Amazon storefront. So if you're
wanting one that is similar, you can find it in my Pink Pilates Princess list on my Amazon storefront.
Lastly, another cramp session, which we will get into today's episode, but it is cleaning
up and organizing literally the feeling oh okay we'll save it for the episode okay a goal of the week so my goal
of the week is to get back on routine which i feel like i'm already doing i had gone to bed around like four
for a few nights and i was like oh my gosh my sleep schedule that's literally awful i am ready to
get back on my normal routine i've been going to bed at nine again and waking up early
and working out again.
I hadn't worked out in like two weeks.
So it's felt so good to start working out again.
And of course it's so hard when you're first getting back into a workout.
But it felt so nice after the workout because I just felt like a lot stronger.
And I just, it felt good to get like energy out.
Another goal of the week is to cook a new recipe for dinner.
So I always stick to my favorite thing.
I know a lot of different recipes, but my favorite of all time,
that I think it's just one of the most simple recipes that literally take about 13 minutes
is the salmon bowl that I always talk about, but I just love it so much.
And I want to start trying a new recipe every single week.
So we will see how that goes.
Okay, another goal of the week is to finish reading my permit book.
I am about halfway done.
and can I get a round of applause? Thank you. Thank you. I literally had been dreading getting my license
and I'm like, you know what, it's time. This girl needs to put some time aside and do this permit book.
So I want to finish the permit book this week. Okay, a quote for my five-minute journal.
Habits are like financial capital. Forming one today is an investment that will automatically give out returns for years to come.
I love that so much because it's so true.
Think about habits just like the quote and really think how all your habits are an investment
and you will start seeing results very, very soon.
I actually just saw a post on Instagram, which I'll share over my Instagram story.
That was about how it's a new month and in two weeks you'll are get a hang of the new habit.
In four weeks you'll see a difference and in six weeks it will be a part of your routine.
and I just think that's so, so smart.
Next, a self-love question to ask yourself.
What am I proudest of myself for recently?
Even if no one else has let me know.
I love that so much because it's so good to acknowledge things that you do,
even if other people are acknowledging it,
because it's really showing gratitude for your hard work yourself.
Okay, lastly is an Apple podcast review.
So this review is from Kate.
Kate, thank you so much for leaving a review.
And let's read what Kate said.
This podcast has fit so well into the new lifestyle I've been trying to build for myself.
I took myself on a hot girl walk today and have been prioritizing my mental and physical help.
The routines I've stuck with have improved my life and I always use the 80-20 rule when I study.
I'm so grateful for the positivity you've been spreading throughout this podcast.
Keep going, girl.
Kate, that is the sweetest review ever. Thank you so, so much. And I'm so proud of you for taking
yourself on a hot girl walk and using the 80-20 role. Okay, guys, let's get into today's episode.
Today I really wanted to talk about organization and how it's so, so helpful and will impact your life.
It's definitely been a huge role in my life, so I feel like it could really be a huge role in yours as well.
So since I was younger, I've always had the desire to organize and I would literally go in the fridge and start organizing everything in the family fridge when I was younger.
And same with the cupboards.
I'd look through to make sure if anything's expired and I'd throw it away, then organize it all and like line everything up.
Like I loved organizing when I was younger and I would clean the house for free.
No chores or anything.
Like, I had fun cleaning.
And I feel like that's every parent's dream to have a kid who wants to literally clean.
And so my parents are pretty lucky that they had me because I love to clean and I still do.
But that is a natural habit that I have.
But there are some ways that I've learned how to keep organized.
I would say I always found cleaning and organizing pretty therapeutic.
but as much calmness and peace I get from cleaning, nothing compares to the result outcome
and the feeling of having a clean, organized space and lifestyle.
It literally is the best feeling to know that you have a organized, very simple space.
So whenever you have a messy room or a messy house or a messy desk or a messy bathroom,
you automatically have a messy and more hectic headspace,
and there's lots of articles on this too that you can read about.
It's proven that having an organized space actually lowers your cortisol levels,
which is your body's primary stress hormone.
And when you have a simple organized space, it allows you to sleep better
and not have to worry about having an unorganized space of clutter distracting you.
Another benefit is it increases your productivity in all aspects,
especially worker school.
So if you have a messy desk and you automatically will begin to feel the feeling of procrastinating because you don't want to move everything off your desk and sit down.
Instead, when you have a clean desk and a clean workspace, it's super easy just to sit down and start your work.
Another way that being organized actually is so beneficial is it promotes a healthier diet because it requires less thinking.
and an example I can give is if you have a really messy fridge where you throw everything in there
and you kind of don't have certain areas for anything, it's going to be hard to meal plan
or knowing what ingredients that you have or what food you have.
And I think that's another way why a lot of people choose to just pick up fast food
instead of cooking at home because a lot of people don't have organized fridges or pantries.
So you're kind of just seeing clutter and thinking, you know,
it's easier just to go pick up food.
So I think having an organized fridge and pantry is also something that promotes a healthier diet.
Another thing is it takes a load of stress off the back of your mind.
Automatically, your cortisol levels go up because it's from stress of a mess.
Literally, stress of a mess, it rhymes, which is why it's so important to have a clean space.
And if you're wondering how to have a clean space.
Personally, I incorporate cleaning an organization by doing a Sunday reset every single Sunday.
In another small way to keep up cleaning an organization is a daily 10-minute tidying up my room.
And I do that every morning and night and it just prevents any big messes.
So for my Sunday resets, which I literally look forward to, and they consist of changing my sheets,
washing all my laundry, and I like to start that early in the morning.
morning so I can have it all done and dried by the end of the day. And another one is having
all my laundry folded and hung, wiped down bathroom and sink. I love to vacuum. That's a big one.
After I dust, I love to vacuum. Write out top priorities for every single day of the week in my
planner. Another thing is, which doesn't apply to everyone, but I charge my toothbrush because I let it go
throughout the week without charging it. So that's another thing I do. And of course, dust around my room,
wipe down my desk. But all those are ways that I have a Sunday reset, which honestly takes
under an hour to do this all except for the laundry. I know you have to do that throughout the day.
But all this takes so, so fast. Honestly, Sunday resets allows me to not have a huge mess to
clean throughout the week and instead I only have to like tidy up my room morning and night for 10
minutes and that's a lot easier than having one big mess thrown at you every two weeks or so.
I can't remember the last time I've had to do a huge clean because I've been so consistent with
my Sunday resets and my everyday 10 minute morning and night tidying up my room.
Something that you can do because I know not everyone loves cleaning and organizing of course
but put on a podcast or a music when you are having your Sunday reset,
it'll make organizing and cleaning a lot better and go by faster.
Also, a big tip I have that I feel like I learned from my mom
because she's the most simple and clean, very much decluttering person.
She doesn't like a lot of clutter, so I've learned this from her.
But to not be afraid to get rid of or donate as you go.
So if you see an item that you're not in love with and you don't really need, because there's no point of keeping items that you aren't going to use.
Something that I love to do is make a little bag that I can put things in to get rid of over time.
Then it can just build up and then when it's full, take it to a donation center.
So if I see a shirt that I'm like, I'm not loving this shirt anymore.
I just go put it in the bag.
And if you feel like you have quite a bit of items that you aren't wanting to keep and you kind of want to make some money off.
of, I would say have a garage sale, list some over Poshmark or Deepop, or sell them to a local
resale shop like Plato's closet, or go sell out of fleet market. It's so necessary to incorporate
organization and to your life, and I promise you it will literally leave you with such a calm
piece in mind. So everyday tidying is definitely a necessity to continue and organize space and
lifestyle and some of my favorite tips to everyday organizing are hang up your clothes as soon as
you're done with them don't leave them on a chair on your bed to do later i used to have the worst
habit of taking something out the hanger or wearing it that day and leaving it on my bed and then
all of a sudden in a week or so i have this huge pile of clothes where it's like half my closet
just sitting at the end of my bed and i'm like oh my gosh like why didn't i hang this up
when I was done with it. So that's what I do when I'm tidying up my room. I will just hang up a few clothes and it takes two seconds.
Another way I like to incorporate tidying up into my life is when I see a small mess, I clean it up and don't
procrastinate it. All your small messes will literally add up to being one big mess. Kind of what I said about if you don't
clean your room at all, you'll have one big mess. Okay, another one, which is my personal favorite, is get a duster.
and I know it's really weird because I feel like no one really talks about dusters, but they're so cute and small.
And mine was like $5 from Amazon.
It's pink, little pink feathers.
Like how cute is that?
And I linked it over my Amazon storefront.
Literally, you need to start dusting around your room in the morning for two minutes.
It keeps your room looking so, so clean.
Now, this is one of my top priorities to living a simple, very or very important.
organized lifestyle is make your bed every day. The moment you get out of bed, you need to make your
bed. It makes a huge difference in your room and it makes it easier to not throw things on the bed
that you'll, quote, put away later. And it also makes it easier to not just get back into bed throughout
the day, which is totally fine if you do that. But if you're wanting to be more active or more
productive or you have a certain goal to not necessarily lay in bed all day. I know that making your
bed is a way to make it easier not to get back in bed throughout the day. Another tip I have for
organizing is buy storage containers. They can be bigger small, but buy them for everything. That makes
it so easy to have a place for everything and I do that with almost all of my stuff. It'll allow you
to know where everything is having a designated spot with containers.
One of my favorite places for containers is DISO.
I don't know if everyone has a DISO near them, but I do, and they're about $1.50 each,
and they're the best storage containers.
So those are some of my favorite tips to tidying up your room and starting to get your room
organized, and just having a Sunday reset every week will literally allow you to only have to
tidy your room morning and night.
for a few minutes, which is why I really encourage Sunday resets.
Like, I wake up and it's just so easy to start working at my desk when I have a clean,
nice desk, not having to move things over to have a space to work.
Also, I know it's a little different if you live with your family.
I live with my family, but my parents love when I do this.
But I really recommend organizing your fridge and cabinets, and it's going to allow you to
seriously eat more nutritious food and have a healthier diet. It makes cooking a lot easier also,
which is really nice in like meal planning because you know where everything is. And when you have that
feeling of being relaxed and not stressed out from messes in your space, it is so rewarding. And you
can just begin to love cleaning and organizing for fun, which I feel like lots of people enjoy
organizing and cleaning once they see the reward out of it. You're literally,
literally rewarding yourself with a nice, clean space and less stress when you organize.
I have lots of organization ideas over my Pinterest as well.
