Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, my love. Welcome to The Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you're new here, welcome to the show. I talk all about how to become the best version of you, find things in your day to honestly just romanticize your life and enjoy your day where you wake up excited to live your life and become the version of you that you actually are excited to be.
Starting point is 00:00:29 And I'm very excited about today's episode because today we have a guest on and I'm very picky about my guests and I only bring on the people that I truly believe aligns so much with the show. So today I have Mimi Bouchard on and we're going to talk about how to become that girl. And most of all, stop waiting to become her and you can literally become her today. I feel like so often we push off the person we want to be in that version of us that feels so unattainable and unrealistic. And I promise you there's things that you can start doing today to become her.
Starting point is 00:01:01 I'm so excited to talk with Mimi today. But before that, let's get into all. our weekly review of the week. This week, I have really just been trying to stay low stress. I really it's so easy to be stressed out, especially if you're someone who is someone who naturally likes to just be go, go, go, which is me. I like to be very go, go, go. And I'm trying to force that relaxation on me, but it has been really helpful. Another thing this week is I have just been enjoying going to farmers markets. I've been going with my mom and my dad, and we just then having like cute little brunch dates and then going to the market.
Starting point is 00:01:35 And another thing this week is I've been just trying to spend more time outside. I feel like it's so nice where in the wintertime we get cold and then we don't go outside. So before any weather starts changing to getting cold, I want to enjoy every single bit of hot weather outside. Now and to the current obsessions of the week. My current obsession right now is my activations I listen to in the morning, which is why I wanted to bring Mimi on because she is the founder of Activations, where she started recording voice memos of herself a long time ago, almost as like affirmations to listen to back to herself. And it literally changed her life.
Starting point is 00:02:10 So she made an app called Activations where you just listen to audios that help you manifest the person you want to be. And it helps with stress, anxiety. It literally has all different targeted categories. But anyways, it's been a staple in my routine. I love it so much. And I thought, why not have the founder of Activations come on? on Mimi Bouchard because she literally changed her life by doing this.
Starting point is 00:02:33 So I thought it's so fitting, so very excited about that conversation today. But I've been listening to Activations every morning on my walk and while doing my makeup. And it's helped so much with just helping me manifest become that girl. Also, if you want a two-week free trial and a huge discount, you can go toactivations.com slash busy. And you can get it on there and listen to the same things that I'm listening to. another current obsession of the week is macha with bone broth
Starting point is 00:02:59 that sounds really weird but I promise it's so good I have this sweet bone broth creamer that I use and I put it inside my macha and it literally tastes so sweet and creamy and it's my favorite thing I just look forward to it so much and my last current obsession of the week is little wedge sandals
Starting point is 00:03:15 I love a wedge flip-flop and wedge sandals I'm unfortunately in my eyes unfortunately I'm short and I wish I was taller because my yoga pants always drag on the floor. So I always been wearing these like wedge sandals and I've been loving them. Now and to my goal of the week, my goal of the week right now is honestly to do more baking. I keep buying really good blueberry muffins out.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Like I'm on like a gluten-free blueberry muffin kick and getting them a lot of cafes. And while I love doing that, because they're so good, I also want to just make them at home and pre-batch them at home. So I'm going to start making some more blueberry muffins every week and then put them in a cute little glass. so I can just like lift up the cute little glass lid and take a muffin. It just is so chic. And I also think they're so cute for when guests come over. They can just get a muffin. Another goal of the week is to tackle my storage unit.
Starting point is 00:04:06 I literally need to just go to my storage unit and start looking through stuff to declutter. And this is going to be obviously weeks and weeks of taking time to do that. So I want to just do it like dedicate one day a week to just try to organize it a bit and declutter it a bit to get one bit closer to my goal. And my last goal of the week right now is to have more warm foods. I feel like I've been on a cold food kick with the summer, and I just know my body does better with warm foods from my digestion. So I definitely want to tap into having more warm foods. Now to the affirmation of the week,
Starting point is 00:04:40 I am becoming the girl that I have always dreamed of becoming. I love that affirmation so much. And if you're guys listening to this or whatever you identify as, you can affirm I'm becoming the person I want to be. And just affirm whatever works best for you. but I just love affirming that and becoming the girl that I've always wanted to become and that girl. So I love that affirmation so much. Now onto your self-love question of the week,
Starting point is 00:05:03 what can I do today to initiate the start of a new beginning of the person I want to be? I love that so much because there's things that we can do that are simple, mundane things that we look past that can really help our mental health and our physical help and honestly just become closer to becoming the version of us that we want to be. So I love that. now on to the podcast review. If you want to be featured on next week's episode, make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts
Starting point is 00:05:28 and leave a rating over Spotify. This review is from Ellie, and Ellie said, Jaden, to be honest, this is such a lovely episode that it left me feeling grateful and inspired. It's a perfect reminder that life doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful. And there is so much happiness to be found in the moments we already have. Ellie, I have to say you said that so perfectly, and I'm just so glad that you found comfort in that episode.
Starting point is 00:05:50 and she's referring to last week's episode, which is how to fall in love with the life that you currently have, which I think is so important. But if you want to listen to that episode, feel free to. But I am so grateful for you, Ellie, and I'm so glad that you're enjoying the show. And before we get into today's episode, make sure to share over TikTok and Instagram, the podcast. I love seeing how you guys listen to the podcast and your videos. I always love to repost. I'm so excited to get into you today's episode with Mimi.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Mimi Bouchard is a entrepreneur and motivational speaker and a published. author of Activate Your Future Self. And of course, the founder of the app that I love so much right now, Activations, which is like a modern alternative to meditation. She had years of struggling to connect with traditional mindfulness. So Mimi created a more versatile time effective option, which is why I said I love to do it while doing my makeup and going on a walk. To feel grounded and motivated.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Activations are just guided audios designed to be played while you live your life. So you don't have to sit and meditate. You can be on the go and the car on a walk. whatever you're doing and just listen to the activations and they have all different topics. So like I love the stress category and the health one, especially when navigating my chronic illness. But I just absolutely love her approach on how to become her and become that girl, just the version of self that you've always wanted to become. So let's get into talking with Mimi on personal development, how to become that girl and this new
Starting point is 00:07:11 approach to manifesting that version of yourself that you've always wanted to become. Welcome Mimi to the Busy Yet Pretty podcast. I'm so happy to have you here. Thank you so much for having me, Jaden. I'm so excited to chat with you today. I feel like we are honestly so similar and just like we're go-gatter's and stuff. And also we just have that wanting more mindset and taking action on it. So very excited to talk about today with you on how to become that girl and how to become her, which I think is what so many of my listeners and so many girls nowadays are looking to do and take it to the next level. So I'm very excited. But before we get into that,
Starting point is 00:07:48 I would love to know a little bit about you and how the listeners kind of learn more about you. Absolutely. So I have been through a serious transformation in my life. And I've kind of dedicated the past six years in my career to helping other women have similar transformations. I like to think that, you know, I've been through a lot of it. And I've really dialed down all of my tips and this like simple process, trying to simplify transformation, essentially in my book, Activate Your Future Self in all of my work with my business activations to all the podcast interviews I do. I've really, really tried to simplify this world of self
Starting point is 00:08:30 transformation to make it really digestible and more achievable for women. So my whole story started about a decade ago. I was in a really low place in my life. I was numbing out a lot with overconsumption of technology, mindless scrolling, overeating, binge eating, going out, partying, drinking a lot. I was not feeling like a version of myself that I wanted to be. And I knew deep down that I could be a more true and happy version of myself, but I just didn't know how to get there. My finances weren't where I wanted them to be. I was living very much so paycheck to paycheck. Like I remember being at the grocery store in my, debit card failing, like very, very, you know, financially insecure. I didn't feel healthy. I was
Starting point is 00:09:21 overweight and felt like crap and was just using food to numb out. I didn't feel confident. I was extremely anxious and just unsure of myself. So I decided to start working on myself. And I dived into personal growth. And at that time, it was not as mainstream and cool as it is now. So I was kind of searching the internet and everything to try to find, you know, resources and books on personal growth. And I started working on myself in the more classic ways, you know, morning routines, journaling, you know, doing all the things they tell you to do. And I felt like something started to change in my life. But it wasn't until I discovered creating these visualization audios that I would listen to and make myself where the growth began to skyrocket. And that's kind of the beginning of
Starting point is 00:10:17 my career. I didn't even know I'd ever share these audios with the world. But essentially, you know, I started to really get into visualization work through audio and listening to these audios in everyday moments with my eyes open because I just couldn't get into meditation at the time. That was the one thing I struggled with. Anyway, I'm literally in the same boat. Yeah, it's, listen, meditation is so great if you want to calm your nervous system and relax your mind and your body. It's a beautiful thing. But at that time in my life, I was looking for a serious 180 transformation. I wanted to make more money, get fit, find love, become this version of myself that I knew I could be. I just like, just was so far from there. And I had meditation on my to do list every day
Starting point is 00:11:07 because I was trying to do the work. But I just, never felt like it did anything and I didn't want to calm my mind. I wanted to feel energized and move towards this potential that I knew I had that everyone has. So that's what led me one day. I was in my like 200 square foot apartment and I took out my phone and I recorded on a voice memo like a visualization. And then I put it into garage band and I added cinematic music and that actually became like the tool that I consistently used the most. And over the following five years, it was like this bell curve on a graph, like my growth literally skyrocketed. And this was the one consistent practice that simplified all the work that I was doing. And I can get into more about why that's so effective and powerful.
Starting point is 00:11:55 But that's essentially my story. And then about five years ago, I was, you know, I'm an entrepreneur. And I decided, you know what? Maybe I'll just share some of these audios with the world. And maybe other women don't really resonate with meditation. They want something a bit more like energizing and actionable. And then it blew up. And now this is like, I have an app called Activations. That's all these audios. So that's kind of where I came from and how it just naturally evolved. And it's, my life truly has been a manifestation. And I completely owe it all to this work. Definitely. And I feel like that's so inspirational, inspiring. Because from the start, your story where you kind of said you were lost and you also were into overconsumption,
Starting point is 00:12:38 which I feel like so many of us, so much of our overconsumption is rooted in hate for things that are going on in our life, procrastination, feeling like we're not productive and it's just an easy grab breach for. And that's why I kind of do, like, every Sunday on my like social media, I do no scroll Sundays where it helps people get off their phone. And I actually, I think I saw something you said that the longest you took off social media was, I think, eight months, you said. Yeah, I'm not even on it right now. Like, I am like chronically offline. And I'm only, Jaden, because I've, I noticed that I get into this like scrolling habit and it becomes like this addictive thing that we all struggle with.
Starting point is 00:13:19 And I just don't feel alive when I'm online a lot. Like I don't feel. So I have this weird theory where it's like you either feel numb or you feel alive. Okay. The things that numb you are like overeating, over drinking, doing drugs. mindlessly binge watching, you know, Netflix shows, mindlessly scrolling on social media, you know, whatever it is, the numbing activities. And then the opposite is feeling alive, feeling that zest for life, feeling that like awake, like connected feeling where you can get
Starting point is 00:13:53 goosebumps where you have like this beautiful conversation of the stranger where you're listening to your favorite song and the bridge comes on and you just feel like you're the main character in a movie, like that the endorphin feeling after a workout, like, that is aliveness, right? So I love that. I want to do things that make me feel more alive and doing things like, you know, being present and happy with my, you know, loved ones and family and listening to inspirational cinematic music or activations or motivational podcast or cooking beautiful food and mindfully eating it.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Like, that makes me feel alive. the numbing and scrolling thing just doesn't anymore. Oh, it doesn't. And I kid you not. Well, really clearly gained to activations. It has become a staple in my routine. It's especially my morning routine. I will in the morning while I do my makeup because I don't get me wrong, I love meditation.
Starting point is 00:14:48 But I'm someone who's very go, go, go. And I feel like you can kind of relate to that. And also I just like I'm someone who craves motivation rather than stillness. And while I know I should crave stillness, I just. just I just can't. I like, I thrive off of motivation and I thrive off of inspiration and something that has stood up to me from activations, honestly, from just like a general standpoint of manifestation and just trying to find that like inner motivation and Zen and stuff is the music behind. We'll get into this later, but I have like a chronic illness and I also have GI issues and stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:22 And my GI issues, I realize there are a lot has to do with my gut brain connection. and my doctors are like audios can help so much. And that's why when I started doing the Activations health audios, they have been so helpful and just healing that like gut-brain connection of mine. So I've been loving that. But it really is, we'll get into that later, but the science behind it and stuff, which I'm excited to hear about.
Starting point is 00:15:44 But I do think it is just so important to find that thing where you can reach for it to feel alive rather than feeling numb, like you said. Like I'm like a music snob. And my audio team, yes. Like, okay, you know that cinematic. music where they are playing it in this like inspirational part of a film or when you're listening to a certain song and it's like that emotive bridge moment where it's like you just feel the rawness of life and it honestly it's funny activations reminds me of hope core you know what it's like
Starting point is 00:16:13 has the music behind it it has like that aspect of okay the motivation or whatever you're looking for but to me I'm like whenever I enter like listen to some activations it honestly does give me that feeling of like the motivation I'm looking for and so I fully agree on that. the audio and the music aspect for sure. Okay, well, Jaden, I literally have searched far and wide and my team has as well for some of the top composers in the world. Like the people that make the music for activations, they make movie scores for some of the top movies and TV shows.
Starting point is 00:16:44 And they literally are trained to make music that makes the listener or the viewer feel a certain way. So if you actually think about what music does, it doesn't just sound nice. music can change your state and music tied with these visualization guided scripts that make this whole moment feel so emotive. Like that is a perfect recipe to feel alive. Okay. And when you change your state, you change your life to change yourself image to change how
Starting point is 00:17:15 you see yourself because that's what transformation is all about. You can't change your life until you change how you see yourself. Your self image is in the core of all of our work. And we need you to change your state to get there. And to change your state, you need to be listening to this cinematic movie moment. I am the main character type of music, energizing, inspiring. That's how you transform. I 100% agree.
Starting point is 00:17:38 That's why I said it's so easy when I'm just like doing my makeup because I've such limited time to meditate. And when I'm meditating, I'm like, the person was the one eye open. I'm like, how much longer is this? So I feel like it's just easy for me. And like I can actually get into a motivate, inspire mind. When I have it just like on the go. when I'm walking or when I'm just like doing my makeup and stuff in the morning.
Starting point is 00:17:58 But when it comes for the listener of becoming that girl, because everyone always asks, like, how do I become that girl and become her? And so much of us has that perfectionist mindset. And I always say launch fast, perfect later. I feel like that's one of the most important things. So when it comes to stop waiting and becoming that girl, I want to know what kind of made you choose yourself and become that girl and stop waiting to have that inner glow. such an amazing question and you know anyone listening right now has felt that moment of that little
Starting point is 00:18:31 ping inside of you that comes out and says I'm meant for more like I should be living a different type of life that's more aligned with who I really am we've all had that feeling that feeling was pestering me for years before I started to decide to change and I truly believe that every single one of us has so much more potential than we even know inside of us. Like, the world is limitless. Like, our potential is truly limitless. And if we are feeling unhappy in any area of our lives, we can change that. And it doesn't actually need to be as hard as everyone says it is.
Starting point is 00:19:10 You don't need to do, like, a 10-step routine and completely change everything. Like, just start with the basics. And understand that the way that you're speaking to yourself is the first. first thing that you need to change because how you speak to yourself, your self-image, how you see yourself in this world will actually determine everything you end up doing, how you show up, what you decide. And that's the number one thing. I think your self-image is the biggest part of transformation. But the beautiful thing is that once you understand how you can just shift yourself image in these tiny little moments in your day, everything starts to cascade and
Starting point is 00:19:50 change quite quickly. You know, think about it like an onion, okay? And the core of the onion is your self-image. And every layer on top of that is like your habits, your beliefs, like your routines every day. If you just try to change your habits and you keep failing, like if you tell yourself, I'm going to start going to the gym four times a week and then you just don't do it, or I'm going to start eating healthier and you just don't do it, or I'm going to start working on that side hustle and you just don't do it. It's not because you're a failure. It's because your self-image, the core of the onion hasn't changed. So how could you start having the habits of your new self if you don't even see yourself as that person? So I have a two-step kind of again, simplifying transformation.
Starting point is 00:20:30 In my book, I share a two-step formula to transformation. The first step is clarity. You must first get crystal clear on who your future self is. Your future self is the version of you that you want to be. You know, it's you, but maybe you that's a little bit richer, a little bit happier, a little bit more fund and whatever it is. And then once you have clarity on who that future self version of you is, and you know her self image, you know how she speaks to herself. You get familiar with how she dresses, how she holds herself, how she, it shows up in the world, okay? Then the step two is becoming. Then you have to become her in everyday moments. And you have to do it in those little mundane moments where you don't think it actually matters, but it does. Like when you're in line
Starting point is 00:21:16 at the grocery store instead of looking down at your phone hunched over, how about you just take a moment to act like your future self? How does she walk? How does she talk? Is she present? Is she confident? What's her energy? Okay. I have goosebumps even saying this because it's actually so fun to do. Transformation can be fun. It can be enjoyable. You can really love it and enjoy it. And what happens if you start to train yourself to be your future self in these everyday moments is that you actually start to change. Transformation is not something on your calendar six months from now. Transformation is these tiny moments in your day to day that you can start to utilize. So that's why I created activations, and that's why activations have helped hundreds of thousands of people transform, because it's an
Starting point is 00:22:03 audio you can listen to that reminds you to be that future self in the morning while you are brushing your teeth, when you are in line at the dry cleaners. It just reminds you. And just like the Pavlov's dog, theory, Pavlov rings the bell and the dog salivates. You are using classical conditioning in psychology to train your mind to be the future you in these moments that you would just kind of let go in your day. A hundred percent. And I feel like we have such similar perspectives on becoming that girl and becoming that version of yourself that you want to become, where it's not feeling far from you, where it's like you have to feel those feelings. How would she show up? I always think of it like this where I tell my listeners, there's a hotel that you want to
Starting point is 00:22:44 become a regular guest at, walk into the hotel, go work on your computer in the cafe lobby. Pretend you are a guest embody those feelings because soon enough, that will be a regular place for you. It has to really feel the feeling so deeply where when it actually does happen, you won't be even surprised. You won't even be thinking, wow, I can't believe I achieve this, because you already in your body felt like you did. Like there's times where I'm like, I have felt I've had the vision so deeply and I felt the emotions as if I had that already so deeply that when it did happen and it came into fruition to my life, I wasn't surprised. It didn't feel like a shock where I got it. I was like, I already have this and it gives me chills just
Starting point is 00:23:26 thinking about it because people don't realize where some of the simplest things, some of the things that feel so far from us are so simple where it comes from the emotions and how we hold ourselves, how we look at ourselves and our self-worth. And it's kind of how you said the onion where it's like it's very rooted in the inside in our inner work. So it's not about necessarily manifesting in the way of, oh, I hope I have this one day and it feels so far. One day I'll get this. I'll be happy when. It's not that I'll be happy when I have to be happy now as if I had it because if you're constantly having that, I'll be happy when in your mind, you don't have that and it's that lack of feeling. So I for sure agree with you. I can't lie.
Starting point is 00:24:10 sometimes I am an impatient person, but let's be honest, waiting on things are honestly the worst, which is why I want to tell you about Ehrnan. Ehrnan is an app, not a bank, that gives you access to money you already earned up to $150 a day and up to $1,000 between paychecks. And no, this is not a payday loan, this is access to your money. That's why there's no interest, no credit checks, and no mandatory fees. Ernan makes money on optional tips and optional fees for features like Lightning Speed, which gets your money in minutes.
Starting point is 00:24:39 But there's also always no-cost options to help make financial momentum accessible to as many people as possible. Download Earnin on the app store or Google Play, spelled like Earning Money Without the G. Type in Busy Get Pretty Under Podcasts when you sign up, it will really help the show. Earnin is a financial technology company, not a bank. Access limits are based on your earnings and risk factors. Standard cash ads take one to two business days with no mandatory fees. Expedite transfers available for a fee. Tips are voluntarily and don't affect the service available in select states,
Starting point is 00:25:08 Terms and restrictions apply. Visit earnon.com for full details. You are spot on. Like everything you just said there is so spot on. And it took me years to realize it. And then once I cracked the code, I was like, wait, why is my life changing so fast? And it's so crazy that that's the code. Everyone wants to resist it.
Starting point is 00:25:30 I used to want to resist it. I used to think, no, I don't deserve to be happy until I have like pushed myself to my limits and achieved this thing and then I'll deserve it. No, I never got there with that mentality. You know, you get there by embodying the self-image now and then letting your external world be the mirror to that. That's like the craziest thing. Nobody wants to do it because we almost want to punish ourselves. We almost want to be like, no, until we deserve it.
Starting point is 00:25:57 But no, how about you feel that confidence, that abundance, that magnetism now and then see what happens? Because when you are radiating that energy and not to get too woo-woo here, because honestly all my work is completely science-backed. In my book, it's all references to scientific articles. But really, like, there is such an overlap with more of the spiritual and energetic side to all of this, too. Like, you are embodying and exerting this certain energy when you're in your future self-frequency. And it is just a matter of time for your external world to show that result when you do so. I've really seen some incredible things in my life when it comes to this work. Like, when I am committed to, embodying a certain energy, a certain frequency, a certain, you know, way of being in my life.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Like, things come in such crazy, unexpected, magical ways. And life is just easier when you're in that flow. And I wish I could almost even show my 10, like my 20 year old self, you know, 10 years ago. Like, Mimi, look at the life you're living now. Like, you literally did it. Like all those things that, that you wanted, all those things on your vision board. like it happened and you magnetized it because you created it. And every single one of us have this ability. It's just so clear once it happens how you created it. You just have to believe in yourself in that process.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I know that sounds, you know, kitsy, believe in yourself. But you really just have to have this like intense belief of like, yeah, I can do that. Why can't I? If that person can do it, why can't I do it? You know, become your number one cheerleader. So many of us young women have this like, you know, like this lack of confidence in ourselves. We deep down are like, why would I? But you have to start thinking differently.
Starting point is 00:27:50 That's the first step. It's like, why can't I? If that person can do it, of course I can do it. You have to be your number one cheerleader. That's like the number one thing I would tell my younger self. And she did it and she succeeded with it. I love that. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And I feel like, again, it's like our younger self and our past version of us, at that point when we're starting our goals or have a vision board or vision what we want of herself, if you're so far. And then once we actually do all that inner work, do all that work in our life, it seriously, it's a shock that I can't believe that was my life before because you're so used to that feeling of this new beginning and this new life that you embodied for yourself and it came into your reality. Where I'd kind of love to know where the, I feel like a lot of my listeners want to know, like, where do I start when it comes to goals or having a becoming that girl? I want to know how do you approach becoming that girl and where do you, where's a good
Starting point is 00:28:43 starting point where if someone has a vision of this new version of their selves they want to be, where do they start? Like, it's like they wake up today. What is this new beginning? They have this motivation or they listen to this episode and think, okay, I have this version of myself. I want to be. And of course, like one of the first steps is becoming crystal clear of who they want to be. but what's the next step where, let's say, they don't have a lot of money to go off up or they don't have any experience or anything. Where is that good starting point? It's such a good question. And I want to make this so simple and actionable for everyone listening. So one of the easiest things you can do, even when you're in the phase one of getting clear, you know, clarity. We need to know
Starting point is 00:29:22 where we're going, you know, before we set off on this amazing journey because you need to know what that end goal post is, right? So clarity, that first step, what you can do to get crystal clarity. So two things. The first thing I'll say is journaling has been truly an amazing part of my transformation journey. I love journaling. I think putting pen to paper is extremely powerful when it comes to putting everything in your mind onto something physical. It clears your mind. It also gives you something tangible to move forward with. If you are feeling confused in your life, put pen to paper. This is a free thing everyone can do and just write, this is who I am today and this is who I want to be. You know what I mean? Just like literally create a page with a line down the middle.
Starting point is 00:30:14 It's like who I used to be who I am now, like who I am becoming who I want to be my future self, and you can decide to be her right now. So I don't even want to say who I'm turning into. It's like, no, like I can be her now. That's actually those three words were always on like a posted note on my bathroom mirror when I was going through this initial transformation, be her now. It's like it's again, simplifying transformation. If you do anything right now and you have the clarity of who you want to be and just be her now. Okay. Emboddy her now, act like her now. And the more you do that, the more you actually become her. So the first one is journaling. And if you really are not a journaler and you're like, I don't know what to write about,
Starting point is 00:30:53 I'm really awkward with journaling. We actually have a whole category in activations called writing and it's guided journaling with really nice music in the background just with prompts that kind of help you with certain goals we have a lot of goal setting designing your future life type of activations in there and by the way um i know jaden we spoke about if you guys wanted a two week free trial you can just take advantage of the two week free trial on the app and if it's for you great if not you know cancel it like it's it's totally fine just take advantage of it especially in this phase with clarity. Yes, and I'll have it in the show notes, but it's activations.com slash busy.
Starting point is 00:31:34 I kid you not. It is one of my favorite things I look forward to in my routine. But really quick, I did want to ask because I know the difference, but I would love for you to kind of explain, though, to the listener, what's the difference between activations and meditation? Because at like first glance, it's easy to think, okay, like a meditation app or something. What is like your definition of activations? Yes, for sure.
Starting point is 00:31:55 I'll explain that. And then I'll go back to the actionable tip thing. But basically, just to make it super clear, activations are audios that you can listen to when you want to feel energized and motivated and alive. You listen to them with your eyes open. Unlike traditional meditation, you listen to with your eyes closed, sitting down, cross-legged, the intention is to clear your mind and to calm your body. Activations are kind of the opposite. So it's just like how you listen to a podcast when you're in the mood to feel motivated or inspired, you'll listen to Jaden's podcast. You know, maybe if you're just in the mood to listen to music
Starting point is 00:32:32 and calm, you know, your body or listen to jazz or like you have certain moods for different music types. If you're at the gym, you might want to listen to something a bit more upbeat. If you are a meditator, maybe that's for, you know, calming your body before bed or something, that activations are a new type of audio that essentially fit in like how you would listen to a podcast. but when you're more in the mood to like really be inspired and feel quite different, like energetically, you know, feel like this self image of your future self in everyday moments. It's cinematic music, guided visualization. You don't even really need to be like listening to it consciously, though.
Starting point is 00:33:12 You can just play it in the background of your life. And a lot of our users do that. And it's very effective for them. So it's like me when I do my makeup or I'm like walking. Like I'll just, I'll put it on and stuff. And I like how you did say about, it's kind of like, in my opinion, it's very tailored to what you're looking for at that moment. So if I'm stressed, as much as, again, as much as I love meditation, I'm someone who doesn't
Starting point is 00:33:35 easily fall into that, like, state of mind. Like, it's something that I've gone to classes and I practice and I have found it to help and stuff. But it's not to me something that is very easy to incorporate into my everyday life. It's something where I'm like, I say it's constantly on my goal of the week or my to-do list is to meditate and then I'm like oh didn't really get around to it I'll do it next week it's once a month thing rather that having got like activations I'll just turn it on if I'm stressed I'll put on a stress activation it's like or if I'm like wanting to work out and have motivation or
Starting point is 00:34:07 even today I did um while I was eating breakfast I did the uh it was like the Monday start of your week activation and to me I had that motivation then and also I'm someone who doesn't listen to like long draw like sometimes like I'd search up like things and it'd be like an hour long. I'm like, while those are great for like maybe a drive or something, majority of the times I just need a quick little thing. And I love like the three to like 10 minute activation. So I can just put it on really quickly and get that quick little boost or that quick little like hug that I needed if I was like stressed or something. So it's exactly what you need. If you are also someone who is on the go or doesn't have that natural state of being able to like relax easily into
Starting point is 00:34:48 meditation. Totally. And it just has a completely different use case. Like, again, meditation is great to calm your body and your mind, but activations are designed to motivate you, inspire you. They're like having a little pep talk in your back pocket. You know what I mean? Yes. A pep talk. That's actually a great way to look at it, a pep talk. I love that. They're inspirational. It's kind of like, you know, your future self-speaking to you in a way. I've transformed so many aspects of my life, but truly the financial aspect was one that I really thought would be like a crazy long, gruesome journey, but I became the version of me that makes a certain amount of money. So we literally have in the targeted visualization category,
Starting point is 00:35:30 this whole list of like, you know, anything from like manifesting like $1,000 to like $100 million to getting a salary. It's so targeted. Like $100,000, $250,000 a year salary. It's when it comes to becoming that girl because I feel like we both really have found that kind of version of ourselves by doing things throughout our routine and just throughout our daily life that have become that girl and become her. But I'd love to know when it comes to becoming that girl, what are things that you found gave that overnight success in the right direction? Kind of like I also say, cliche, things are cliche for a reason where even journaling can help so much. And even though it's so cliche, it's because it sometimes does help. So what are things where you,
Starting point is 00:36:13 but not your lowest, that you found picked yourself up and overnight, it gave, Because of course, things are not an overnight success. Things do not overnight. Your version of you that you want isn't going to come overnight. But what are things that do kind of give that overnight feeling, whether it's giving like a full declutter in your room or like unfollowing people that no longer serve you? What are things that you find that give that success just overnight for you? Yes, for sure.
Starting point is 00:36:38 So this kind of ties back to what I was getting to before I was showing the difference between meditation and activation. I was talking about journaling. that is amazing. When you've been in a funk and you're not feeling like yourself, like that is one of the first things that I'll go to. If you want something more guided, take advantage of the writing activation category or just put your pen on paper and just start writing. You don't need to do anything other than write. You will get clarity the more you write. You keep mentioning the that girl thing. I honestly love this trend because you can be that girl today. Like you, there is a version of you that is sitting here right now that is that girl. And you can see, step into her, her, like, energy, her ethos, her actions. Once you get the clarity, the journaling thing is huge for that, get the clarity, and just become obsessed with this idea of becoming her. There's nothing wrong with becoming obsessed with bettering yourself. I think we need to, to transform our lives or any aspect of our lives. We need to get energized towards this change that we want to make.
Starting point is 00:37:41 we have to start doing something different to experience something different in our lives, right? So the journaling, the clarity, the getting clear, you can even like go on a walk without your phone and just like talk to yourself. Like, you know, sometimes I'll put my headphones in and pretend I want to call when I'm on a walk and just like I'm talking to myself and I'm doing like, you know, like an audible journaling session with myself. Like, yeah, that sounds weird. But you just kind of have to like get yourself out of routine sometimes. actual things that I that I'll do to get out of the funk. And honestly, like, this happens all the time because, you know, even when you've reached your dream future self, like you're going to know and notice
Starting point is 00:38:24 that you still have to work towards it every day. It's not like you reach this destination and you're perfect all the time once you get there. I reach most of my goals multiple years ago and every single day I need to remind myself that I want to be that version of me today. And there are so many little things that I do to maintain that and to get out of the funk. The first thing is habit stacking. I want to make feeling good as easy as possible. So whether it is with my healthy routines, whether it is with my career, whether it's with my relationships, my relationship with myself, I want to make sure that, A, I'm enjoying doing these things that I'm doing, but B, I'm also like optimizing them. Habit stacking is when you do, you know, more than one healthy habit at a time.
Starting point is 00:39:07 and you tie them together, you know, in your brain. Like, for example, whenever I'm making my coffee in the morning, I'll put some collagen in there to get some protein in first thing. That's one of my health habits. And then at the same time, I might listen to a morning activation, right? So while I'm making my coffee, I'll listen to a two-minute pep talk to remind myself of who I want to be. And maybe I'll also triple habit stack that and wear my LED red light mask.
Starting point is 00:39:33 You know what I mean? So you can stack yourself, carry your wellness, your mental health. your personal development habits all together and just create these routines. Like before bed, I'll put my legs up a wall and maybe I'll, you know, listen to a motivational podcast or something and I'll journal or I'll call my mom or, you know, whatever it is. So just try to stack all these healthy things together. One of my favorite ways of habit stacking is walking and listening to a walking activation. Those two things, like good for your body.
Starting point is 00:40:05 You're getting your 10K steps in and you're listening. you're listening to something that literally is changing your state so intensely that you feel like a different human by the end of the walk and you're walking like you're just the most confident magnetic person ever. So that's what I would say like tangible, actionable things is just start. Be her now. Remember those three words. Like you can set reminders on your phone. You can put a post-it note on your bathroom mirror. Be her now. If you take anything from this conversation, you just need to remember that it's clarity and becoming. So no matter what, what you do to help you achieve those two things. You know, you can use all the tools that are out there, resources that are out there. Or you can also just, you know, commit to yourself and do it yourself. Clarity. Get a piece of paper. Write down who you want to be.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Be coming. Be her now. Remember in daily moments to just snap into it. It's like the easiest thing. Don't overcomplicate it. Transformation's not hard. Be her now. How do you be her now?
Starting point is 00:41:01 How do you remember in the moment to speak like her, act like her? There are tools like activations that you can listen to, but you also don't need to. You can just remind yourself, you know, by putting little pings in your phone, by, you know, just becoming obsessed with this idea of feeling like her before the abundance and the love and the confidence actually manifests. And I actually have something to say about the money aspect. I know you mentioned before, what if she doesn't, you know, this listener maybe doesn't have,
Starting point is 00:41:32 she wants to be abundant, but how can she act as if she's already abundant? and how she doesn't have the money to spend. How can she go, like, you know, drive that car or whatever, like, if she doesn't have it. So there's a certain energy that you need to embody, especially when you are in a lack place financially. And I've been there, so I know exactly how that feels. And I know how, like, desperate it can be. So I like to say it like this. Can you imagine for a moment that you bought a lottery ticket, okay?
Starting point is 00:42:04 and you get, you're looking at, I don't know how it actually works, because I've never bought a lottery ticket before, but you basically, you look at the numbers and you've realized, oh my goodness, I've won, okay? That and you're who you are today, making the amount of money you are making today, but you just realized, oh my gosh, I won this, you know, I won a million dollars or 10 million dollars or whatever it is. And then you, you know, call the number on the ticket and you say, hey, guys, like, here's my matching number, here's my verification.
Starting point is 00:42:32 And they say amazing, congratulations. you've won this $10 million. Okay. And then they say, please send us your bank information. The transfer will happen within seven to 14 days. Because that always happens with a big lump sum of money. It doesn't happen immediately. It takes a certain amount of time.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Banks need to, you know, communicate with each other and you need to set things up. So how would you feel in that seven to 14 day period before the money has landed in your account, before you can spend it, what would you do? and how would you feel? You know the money is yours. You know that you've won. You know that this, they've confirmed on the phone. Congratulations. This is your money. It will be arriving in your account in this period of time. How would you feel during that time? Would you feel lack? Would you feel a complete like, you know, like anxiety when you look at your finances? Would you feel this negative emotion towards money? No, you would feel this like awe and excitement like, I'm
Starting point is 00:43:33 I am about to become rich. Like, I know it. It's already mine. It's just in transit. You're not going out and buying things, but what you might be doing is you might be mapping out how much you're going to put into savings, how much you're going to put into investments, what you're going to do with the money. You're preparing.
Starting point is 00:43:48 And you are walking around, like you are worth $10 million, even if it's not in your account yet. So you basically just have to do that until it happens. And it might take it. You don't know how long it's going to take, but it's going to happen at some point if you identify as the kind of person that has a certain amount, you're going to see, like, miracle has happened, and I know that sounds crazy. And I'm telling you from personal experience, I, it shouldn't have happened what has happened to me in my life. It shouldn't have. And that has made me the biggest believer in this work because I was just a normal girl. And I can't even tell you
Starting point is 00:44:25 the transformation that has, that has occurred. And it's because of my self-image. And it's because in my energy. And I love most of all how it's very, that's a very realistic way to tap into that where, of course, I love the idea that people recommend go spend money as if you have millions of dollars in your bank account. But realistically, it's an easy way to get into debt. And it's an easy way to get yourself in a hole and have to dig yourself out. Of course, I believe when you do buy something that you have decided to buy that it's beneficial to your life that you need. Don't have that regret into it, of course, and don't keep, don't keep laying those thoughts, tumble and tumble and think, gosh, I wish I didn't buy this. Gosh, I wish this. I don't
Starting point is 00:45:08 have the money because that's only affirming to yourself, you don't have the money. But at the same time, doing something such as feeling that seven to 14 business days of getting that money into your account is a realistic way to not physically harm yourself by spending overly spending money. You don't need to go spend money to practice getting that abundance. You can do it for free, by doing it with your mind and how you said about the seven to 14 days where if I know I won the lottery and it's on its way to me, I'm already thinking, okay, what do I want to maybe purchase in the next like few months? What do I want to do? Maybe there's a new home that I want to buy or have something I've had my eye on or what, like you said, finances and how you want to separate into different accounts.
Starting point is 00:45:48 All those ways and all that planning, those are things that you would be doing if it was on your way to you. So I love that. And I do want to touch on something that I feel like is very important where it's not talked about enough, but it's overconsumption. And the way of where this can be in all aspects of life, and I do think it's very important to lean on if you're comfortable talking about it, which I know you mentioned even like binge eating, where it's something where it's a numbing thing. And it's also, there's so many aspects, whether it's like constantly spending money or constantly just having an overconsumption of social media. How have you found that balance of not having overconsumption in all aspects of your life and finding that healthy balance?
Starting point is 00:46:26 There's a point where you have to have that discipline to also you want the overconsumption. It's easy to want it and to go past that, you know, breaking point and think, okay, and justify it or, oh, it's okay, and it's easy. But where have you found to find that healthy balance where you know I need to stop and this is a good stopping point? That's an amazing question. And so many of us in today's world deal with like constantly seeing people have more and then you want to keep up with. the Joneses and buy that new car, do this or do that. But you kind of reach a point where you realize that you're just trying to fill a void and it's not actually something that you like deep down want. I remember when I first made money, I bought like loads of Chanel bags because I was
Starting point is 00:47:12 like, wow, like that's so cool. A girl's got to live. A girl's got to live. But honestly now, Jaden, to be honest with you, like I could walk in and buy whatever I want. Like I don't need to look at price tags anymore. And I just don't. don't care as much as I used to. And I think that comes with just like, I guess, evolving a little bit. And I love luxury items. Don't get me wrong. Like I still really care for quality things. Like I, you know, love having a private chef sometimes. I love to go on beautiful vacations. Like, I love that kind of stuff. It's amazing. It makes your life easier. And I love an abundant life. But I was noticing that there were certain things like shopping wise that I just like don't need, you know.
Starting point is 00:47:53 Like it wasn't bringing me joy. Like I thought. it would and I had to experience going and buying a certain amount to realize like, wait, I actually don't care about this kind of stuff as much anymore. So, you know, that being said, I might be, you know, different. There are many people that have reached a level of personal development that still love to buy certain handbags because they love the art of craftsmanship. But I just don't personally care about that kind of stuff as much anymore. So overconsumption with food as well. Like I knew that that back in the day when I had that disordered binge eating problem, I knew it was because I was trying to fill a void. And I was really self-conscious and insecure. And I felt like just to shut
Starting point is 00:48:35 out the noise of the world, like I would just overeat. And it was just a really bad habit that I got into. And I healed myself from that. Like I honestly just like did the activation work. Like that, that's how I've healed everything in my life. Like I listened to these audios. reprogramming my mind and telling me like, no, like, I'd actually go through a visualization of wanting to binge and then like stopping myself. And I'd do that visualization in my mind. And then, you know, the next time I actually wanted to binge, like there was a 50-50 chance that I would or I wouldn't. But then the next time after that, if I kept visualizing it, like my brain would kind of see that there was a different option. So that's how I transformed that.
Starting point is 00:49:17 But yeah, you know, in general, in life, what I've come to realize is that the most important, thing is feeling authentic, feeling happy, and really just spending your one shot at life with the people you love, doing things that you love, and that's it. I just got married last year. I'm six months pregnant as we speak, and it's kind of also just changed, just this whole experience of building my own family is like really just change my perspective on all of this as well. Like, I just don't want as much. I just, I've kind of come back to myself in a way. Like, I've achieved everything I've ever wanted to achieve. I don't have to work again for the rest of my life. Like, I'm very blessed. And I have realized that I would give it all away,
Starting point is 00:50:06 like, just to have my family and just to build, you know, this little beautiful life with my husband and our baby boy on the way. And you kind of just come back to yourself, right? And I'm saying all of this while also wanting to reiterate that there is nothing. wrong with wanting to be wealthy and fit and happy and healthy and abundant and go on those yachts. Like, there's nothing wrong with that. You know, I've done it. But the most important thing is being the best version of you, being in love, having beautiful relationships and taking care of yourself and not being stuck on your phone mindlessly scrolling all day because you're wasting your life if you do that. I feel like it's kind of where you said almost
Starting point is 00:50:51 us where when we don't have the luxury items we want, we don't have those things that we can't have yet, it's so tempting of wanting it and wanting it. And once you actually do have it, it's almost kind of like it brings you back to the person you were before of the priceless things are right in front of you. You can have all those luxury items. You can have all those things. Your mind can be set on all I want is this home or all I want is this car. All I want is this bag. But when it comes down to it, And let's say you have all those things. All you're going to be wanting is a healthy family. All you're going to be wanting is your health.
Starting point is 00:51:23 And those are all things that are priceless. It really doesn't have a price tag on it. So I love most of all, or even the things where it's like maybe, of course, these are not necessarily priceless, but it's not cheap all the time to be able to nourish yourself with all great ingredients or even like things such as having a private chef or traveling, not necessarily a fiscal item, underrated things where it's like, wait, maybe that was also something were not a goal, but those are something that was more of a goal than the things I had that were materialistic. Exactly. Money helps. And, you know, I always, I remember growing up,
Starting point is 00:51:58 because growing up, my parents didn't have much money. They were artists and, you know, kind of struggled a lot. And that's kind of where I got this intense motivation to be financially free as an adult because I saw a lot of lack financially growing up. And I remember like arguing with my mom when I was younger. she was like, money doesn't buy happiness. I'm like, but I want money and I think it can bring happiness, you know? And now I've really realized like, okay, yes, money in itself does not bring happiness. But I'd rather be wealthy and unhappy than poor and unhappy. And it's like it just is something that helps.
Starting point is 00:52:36 It actually removes like 90% of your stress. So when I'm less stressed, I am more happy. So it's funny because I won't say money makes you, it brings you, happiness. It's not the only thing, but it does significantly reduce stress. And I think it's a beautiful thing. And I also love to talk about money in a very empowering way as a woman because, you know, I don't think we talk about it enough. Like I actually think it's amazing to verbalize how much we love money and how much we want money and how much we love and respect money because it's like, it's a good thing, you know, to have a good relationship with money. But,
Starting point is 00:53:15 But yeah, you know, there are so many things that help out. But you know what's crazy, too. The more money I've made, the more, like, obsessed I've been with investing and saving. And, you know, you just don't realize this until you have it. But you kind of just, like, want to see it grow and build. And you don't want to spend as much. Like, so that's actually a great tool doing that, like, lottery visualization. Because it's like, start thinking, start learning about money.
Starting point is 00:53:40 I didn't know anything. My parents didn't teach me about investing or taxes or this or that when I was younger. So like when I started making money, I had to kind of learn myself and I would go on YouTube and I'd learn about investing and I'd learn about how money works and how much I should put towards rent every month and how much I should save and, you know, tips on saving and investing. And I had to get really obsessed with that myself because I was like, wait, I have money now and I want to have more. So I need to prepare for it. So that's an amazing thing to do when you're in that waiting phase between, you know, where you are now and having the wealth. It's like learn about it, learn about money, become proficient in speaking about it and learn about investing and really feel that confidence.
Starting point is 00:54:23 And then once the money lands, you're going to know what to do with it immediately. So people, it comes like an overnight thing where it's like maybe you've had one of the best months ever and it just only went up from there. Or it was a very slow growth period and like where you had challenges and stuff. I'd love to know what your experience is because, again, regardless if it was an easy time or a hard time, I feel like anyone can use it as motivation to their own finances and how, you know, whatever their goals are for it. Right. It's a great, great question. I, it wasn't an overnight, like, oh my gosh, I just like, the lottery example is kind of crappy too because it's like
Starting point is 00:54:58 that doesn't happen a lot of the time. But my life did significantly change in a 12 to 18 month period. And it was crazy because I'd literally notice the months where I was like consistent with my activation practice, like listening to my visualizations and being her now versus the months that I was maybe falling off a little bit. I would literally notice the money in my bank account changing. I remember my first $100,000 month and it was extremely unexpected, actually, because in the subscription world, you know how much money you're going to make every month. And I think the business was maybe making like 25 or 30 grand. This was like, you know, five, six years ago. But then there was this new, I was really doing the work and it was a January.
Starting point is 00:55:44 And I remember specifically, it got that New Year energy. I was so motivated. I wanted to become $100,000 a month, Mimi. And I just started honestly getting so comfortable living in that energy and kind of feeling weird if I wasn't in that energy. Like I was just thinking like someone who makes six figures a month. I was embodying her energy. I was I was really acting like her, like thinking. about how to move forward in my career like her.
Starting point is 00:56:15 And I made certain decisions and said yes to certain opportunities. And there was this weird opportunity that wasn't even linked to my subscription business at the time that ended up making me like $72,000 on the dot. And then my business made like $28,000 or something like that. It basically equal to $100,000 exactly that month. And that was the first month I started obsessing over the $100,000 meeting. It was really one of those crazy things that just like made me. aligned. It was crazy. You know, weird things like that have happened, not even with money. I remember
Starting point is 00:56:46 nine years ago when I met my now husband, who was my first boyfriend, I was reporting activations for myself. This was never public at that point. And I actually have an activation saved on my phone that I recorded on October 12th, 2017. And I described him. And I was like, I wanted love. You know, I'd never had a boyfriend before. And I was 21 and I just was like, I, you know, this is the man I want. I met Ben on October 13th, 2017, the following day. And then I didn't even realize the synchronicity until years later I was going from my phone.
Starting point is 00:57:25 I was like, what? So weird things happen. But to go back to the financing, I know that's a crazy number, 100,000. Most people are not like relating to that right now. But just know that I was just a random girl. trying to be an entrepreneur. I tried so many different entrepreneurial ventures in my early 20s, failed so many times. And then one thing stuck. And it really started changing my life and, and just know that all it takes is one thing winning. And you can achieve crazy abundance. But
Starting point is 00:57:57 even if you don't even necessarily like aspire to have that amount, like just know that going from like 5,000 a month to 7,000 a month. Like that shift can happen quite quickly. 5,000 to 15,000 a month. Like you just need to know which levers to pull. And to do that, you need to start thinking like your future self because she will see opportunities that you in your current state are not seeing. There's something in our brains called the RAS, the reticular activating system. It's essentially a filtration system in our brains that decides what we call. consciously notice or don't notice. If we didn't have this filtration system, our brains would literally explode because we'd notice like that light flickering there, the air conditioning sound
Starting point is 00:58:42 there. It would be way too much information. But the world presents us with an abundance of information. Our RAS decides what is important for us to notice and what is important for us to filter. So your RAS is tied to your beliefs about the world. I used to believe that I was a victim because I didn't come for money. It was going to be very hard for me to become financially free. So I used to look for reasons why I couldn't, right? That was me in the old self-victim mentality. And then I started to change my self-image.
Starting point is 00:59:13 And I started seeing myself as the type of person that could make a crazy amount of money. And then I started seeing these opportunities that were literally always there, meeting that person. Oh, that person could introduce me to that person. I could do a business deal or I could introduce. Just little crazy ideas would come to me. that were always potentially there. But my RAS was programmed to literally not see them.
Starting point is 00:59:37 The RAS wants to confirm your beliefs about the world. So if you start to see yourself as someone who is a successful entrepreneur, who is confident who has a podcast that gets millions of downloads an episode, who makes $100,000 a month or whatever it is, like you're literally going to start seeing the opportunities that already exist in your sphere, in your circle and you're going to start to actually, you know, have the opportunity to take advantage of them. So that's why this work is so important because you need to become her to see what she sees. A hundred percent. And I feel like that is so important to have that awareness
Starting point is 01:00:15 what you said. And even like there's science behind it being the awareness of the things could have been right in front of you, but you haven't had that. You've been in the mindset of, let's say if you've been in the victim mindset of thinking nothing ever good happens for me. or I'm not someone who can live that life, you're only going to be seeing the things that align with that, like you said. So really quickly, though, I would love to know if there are any times that you had your, as a business owner or someone in general who had your back against the wall where you've had success and then let's say there was like a big drop in finances or there's even just a drop in success in your business or even mental health or whatever it is,
Starting point is 01:00:54 how have you been able to pick yourself up and what are the steps you do to when you've get into that point. Oh my gosh. So I actually was on a really great high for years. Okay. And then I get pregnant in February. And my first trimester was hell on earth. And I didn't expect it. I always knew that some women had struggled in their first trimester. I didn't know that was going to be me, you know, like as much as I want to be positive, like things happen in life that I can't control, you know. And And I had, you know, severe sickness. Borderline, you know, some people will call it HG, which is a condition you can get in pregnancy where you're sick all the day long.
Starting point is 01:01:44 You can't keep things down. You are debilitated by sickness. I basically had that for two months. And I lost all my healthy habits. My positive mentality went out the way. window, I was just surviving at that point. And I had to rebuild myself when I came out of the first trimester. So that's actually one of the most recent times that I've had to actually go back to what I teach and preach and remind myself. Like, it was actually my husband who, when I started
Starting point is 01:02:17 feeling a little better and I could actually like get up and get out of bed because I was in bed 12, 24 hours a day. We were sleeping in different rooms. He had to bring me food. Like I couldn't go downstairs. It was really bad. I didn't talk for like months. My husband was like, are you okay? Like it was, it was really bad. And then when I started kind of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I remember he said, he's like, Mimi, do what you know you need to do. Like, you teach this. You know this. I'm like, okay, you're right actually. Like I can bounce back and I started small. I started by just like, you know, listening to an inspirational like message, whether that was like a call with a friend or a podcast or an activation.
Starting point is 01:03:01 We actually created a whole pregnancy and motherhood series since my experience because I really couldn't find that much that I could listen to at the time. And I just started small and I started listening to things in the background. And then I started to get up and like do a five minute walk. And then I started like you really just had to start small sometimes. But building yourself back up once you have been in a rut, a funk, whether that's from a pregnancy trimester that really hit you hard or whether you've just gone through a really bad breakup or whether you've just, you know, lost your job and you're trying to figure out what you even want to do in your life, those are the moments where it's kind of the most important to do
Starting point is 01:03:41 this work of connecting with yourself, rediscovering the clarity and the becoming aspects. Because, you know, we're always changing. I had to realize, like, my new future, herself, the person I wanted to be after this phase of my life, like, she's different. She, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, I'm trying to kind of now figure out who I want to be as a mother and there's this whole new identity, um, that I'm trying to design at the moment. So, you know, when you're going through this transition phase, you have an opportunity. And your opportunity there is to design what this next phase of life can look like. And you don't need to go all in. You can start small. You can start by writing for five minutes a day, going on a
Starting point is 01:04:28 five minute walk, listening to a two minute activation, deciding to delete social media off your phones. You get more clarity of mind. Start small is what I would say. And it really just took a week of me doing that to start feeling like myself again. And now I feel like I'm back. That's amazing. And I'm so sorry, first of all, that you had to go through that. But also, it's just another proving point to you again, how strong that is. is and that inner work. And I feel like one of the best takeaways of what you just said is how you can save yourself and it's priceless. It's seriously priceless to save yourself. And it's all inner work. You don't have to go necessarily spend lots of money to go help yourself. It's all
Starting point is 01:05:08 free. It's all free within yourself. And that's why I feel like is the perfect note to end off of it. And I'm so grateful for you coming on. Mimi, I feel like we had the perfect conversation on how to become that girl. I feel like I'm so motivated now. And honestly, I'm going to go have my little hot girl walk with my ma chat after this and listen to an activation. I'm going to do one of the lucky girl activations after this and stuff. Or you can listen to one of my all-time favorites. I actually always suggest this one. I want to know your favorite.
Starting point is 01:05:35 Okay. Well, I have like, you know, when you listen, when you're obsessed with a song and you listen to it on repeat until you're saying of it, that's kind of like how I use activations. I love it. We're constantly releasing new content, but like I'm kind of like I get hyper fixated. So one of the OG ones that I've honestly been obsessed with for. years now is called become your magnetic future self. And it's a walking activation. I think it's like 20 minutes long, but it's like cinematic. You're going to go on a journey and just like transform in that 20
Starting point is 01:06:05 minutes and I'm obsessed with it. I will be listening to that. That one, that one's honestly such a game changer. But radically shift your state is a four minute pep talk. And that is when like you're just not feeling good. And you're just like, I need to just shift. And just. And just. And just. just four minutes. Or we have one called Be Her Now. That's five minutes. It's a five minute talk to. That one's probably very on brand for what we talked about today.
Starting point is 01:06:30 For this episode. Yes. Oh, a good abundance one is feel magnetic abundance energy or embody magnetic manifestation energy. I love that one too. You can listen to when you're on a walk, when you're, you know, whatever you're doing. You know, so we have about 20 categories on the app. anything from like, you know, walking, pep talks, manifestation, wealth, affirmation. We literally have something for everyone.
Starting point is 01:06:57 I love that so much. And really briefly, I wanted to say that I've been healing from, as I said earlier, from like a chronic illness and like a lot of GI issues. When I was hit with that last year, I was like bedridden where I could, I couldn't even walk to the bathroom alone. I was in so much pain. I was like, I'm going to have to be in a wheelchair. It was a very dark time for me.
Starting point is 01:07:15 And thankfully, a lot of things have shifted where I am better. I'm seeing a lot of doctors that are helping. And one of the biggest things they say is, like, for instance, for my stomach issues, like the gut brain connection and listening to things and believing differently about yourself and your identity. And that's really important. And overall, just even healing from my chronic illness and stuff, I feel like I just got wiped out from the motivation and the person I was where I feel like I almost kind
Starting point is 01:07:39 of lost the identity of the motivated girl I was. And I feel like even kind of we're in the same state right now where we're rebuilding the version of herself that we were. And I feel like we have to have these times where it hits us in order to prove to us again to get that spark back, but even 10 times better than we had it before. So I feel like if anyone's listening to this, you have to try Activations. It's my favorite thing right now. It's such a staple in my morning routine while I'm doing my makeup and I have my matcha.
Starting point is 01:08:06 It's early me this morning and while eating my breakfast. But you can go to Activations.com slash busy for a 14-day free trial plus a huge discount. It's my favorite thing. And as Mimi said, it truly can change your. life. Oh, thank you so much, Jaden. And I just want to make it clear to everyone. If you want to get the big discount we're offering to Jaden's audience, go to the website, not the app store, because we can only offer this big discount on our website. They don't really let us do it on Apple. So it's just activations.com slash busy. Try it for two weeks free. And we have a money back guarantee. There's
Starting point is 01:08:42 literally no strings attached. Try it. And try the 10-day That Girl reset. You can do that within the two-week trial, the 10 Day That Girl reset challenge on the app, or go listen to some of the ones that we spoke about in this episode. I personally think become your magnetic future self-walking activation is like such a good one to kind of dip your toes into and get started with. But I just, I feel so passionate about this work. And I know that it's going to make you feel very different, very quickly. So excited. I love that so much. I'm going to do that one on my walk today. After this, I'm going to go on a walk and listen to that. But thank you so much for joining Mimi. I feel like we're honestly on that journey together of constantly just evolving
Starting point is 01:09:22 to become that girl, but also finding that self-fulfillment that we already have it and stuff. So I hope the listener enjoyed this as well, as much as I did. So thank you for coming on. Thank you so much, Jaden.
