Hello, my love. Welcome back to the busy yet pretty podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you're new here,
welcome. I talk all about how to become the best version of you, live your life, and just enjoy your day.
We all deserve to become the best version of ourselves. And yes, that may sound cliche, but it's true.
You have the power to create a life and every day you wake up. You have the opportunity to shape it to what you want it to be.
So I'm so excited you're joining me today. And I'm very excited about today's episode.
Today's episode is the perfect spring refresh for motivation to getting organized and just feeling like yourself again.
The winter blues are passing us and we are just getting into our whimsical spring feel.
And let's be honest, I feel like we all can agree on this.
The seasons definitely play a role on how we feel about ourselves.
Just like the liveliness and just the confidence and it's normal.
Like I am destined to feel not as cute as I do in the winter versus how I do in the summer.
in the spring because we're getting out in the sun, we're going outside versus the winter's cold,
chilly, our skin is dry and we're just not as more free and alive feeling as we usually are.
So if you've been in a slump or if you just feel like you need a good reset to start fresh and
honestly just have that spring refresh you're needing, I am here for you today.
And you are not doing this alone.
I am doing this with you.
So let's get into today's episode.
But first, let's do our weekly review.
This week, I have just been enjoying the post-birthday decor. I really just decked out. Me and my mom really
just decked out my entire room, my backyard, just everything. And it just is so fun to just like enjoy the
next few days after your birthday. I am a Pisces. Okay, I always am the person who says, I'm a Pisces.
I'm a Pisces. I'm a Pisces rising. As if I know anything about signs other than myself, I will ask people,
oh, what's your sign? And I kid you not I know not one thing about another sign, but I do know
I'm a Pisces and a Pisces Rising. And it definitely shows because instead of just enjoying
my birthday on one day, I have to have a birthday month. So I have just been enjoying my birthday all month
long. Another thing this week is I have just been trying to spend more time outdoors, which has been
really nice. Even things as simple as going on a walk after brunch just makes you feel more in
touch with reality and it also just makes you feel like you did something else in your day that
wasn't just like a broken record of school, work, and repeat. So it just is nice to give some variety
into your day, get fresh air, so I've been loving that. Lastly, this week, I got a new therapist
who I really like. It definitely takes some therapists to connect with the one that you're meant for.
Anyways, I went in and I just had my first session with her and I kid you not, she just affirmed
what another therapist has said in the past where she's like, oh, you're, you know, you're
ADHD and OCD seems to be sometimes at an all-time high. And honestly, some people don't like those
labels. And I don't like to label myself, obviously. But I do also like to know, for instance,
what I have, so I know how to manage it. And I know a lot of you guys also struggle with ADHD or
OCD. Not everyone, but I have received some messages. And this is just for me to say, you're not alone.
I know a lot of people idolize creators, celebrities, whoever it is, maybe your best friend.
whoever you admire or idolize.
Remember, people all have their own things that they're going through.
Nobody's perfect.
Trust me, as much as I say the motivational things I say on the podcast, I have my days,
I have my worries, and it's just about knowing how to manage those things and enjoy your day,
which is why I have the podcast.
That's literally the main reason why I have the podcast is talking about experiences that are
real life things and giving you the motivation and know that.
that you were not alone. I was bullied. I used to eat lunch in the bathroom stalls. And so were maybe
you. And you were not. And it feels like you're kind of the only one who went through that, but you're
not. I've also had an eating disorder. You know, many people have a rocky relationship with food.
It's so beautiful to be transparent. I know I'm going off on a tangent, but it is so important to be
transparent, especially in this day and age, because it can feel so lonely. And let me just say,
nobody's life is perfect, no matter whose you think is. Of course, people struggle more than others
with certain things, but I just want you to know, this is not to make you feel invalidated when I say,
you know, other people struggle with things and other people have ADHD or OCD, but it's for you
to realize that someone else is in your shoes as well. I am in your shoes as well if you were
someone who struggles with that. Like, I have my own worries and my own anxiety and my own things I go
through. But I have the podcast to show, hey, this is how I enjoy my day and do things in my day
that helps combat those things that maybe try to bring me down. But instead, those things
that I'm sharing really bring me up and those are my energy givers. So long story short,
that was a little tangent. But I thought that was really important to talk about since it kind
of inspired me for my recent therapy session. Then I'm like, you know what? Other people that
are listening to this are, of course, experiencing very similar things. And everyone
experiences, things of their own, and it just is a reminder that I'm rooting for you. I'm so proud of
you and trust me, you are not alone. Okay, now into the current up sessions. My current up session
right now at the moment is a matcha with pistachia milk. Also, matcha with pistachia milk and
strawberry puree syrup. Like, I love nothing more than a strawberry match. It is so spring-like,
but even just a plain match with pistachia milk is my favorite thing.
This is really, okay, this is really far-fetched, but to me it tastes like ice cream.
I don't know why.
It just reminds me of this like certain ice cream, but I love it.
Another crab session right now is two-piece sets.
I think there's nothing more chic than a two-piece set.
I usually love to style my things individually.
Like I love a different top with a different bottom.
But lately, with it being spring and then going to summer, I have just been loving the little two-piece set moment.
My last current obsession at the moment is my pink and green color-themed Google Calendar.
And I swear I've said this probably the last two episodes in my current obsessions.
But I can't lie, it makes you so much more motivated when your planner and your calendar is organized and it's pretty to look at.
So if you're lacking in motivation and planning with your planner or your Google Calendar, I really recommend like sectioning it out and color coordinating it into how you like it because it just makes you more excited to.
plan for the day and plan for the week ahead.
Now on to the goal of the week.
My goal of the week is to start doing some morning swims and cold plunges.
I say cold plunge because it is so cold in the morning to take a swim.
Even with it being spring out, it is freezing.
But we'd love to take some swims in the morning just to wake myself up and maybe even after a walk.
Okay, another goal of the week right now is to work more from cafes and hotels.
I used to do this all the time and it made me feel so good and get so much work done.
but whenever I'd go to cafes or like work at a hotel in like the lobby area, I would get so much work done.
And I was on like a little streak doing that for a while a few years ago.
And then I kind of fell off and I haven't done it since.
But I really want to start working from cafes and hotels whenever I'm on my computer or my phone.
My last goal of the week is to plan a little girl's trip with my mom.
I already booked a few little things.
But I want to start doing little one night stays places with my mom.
I feel like it's so nice and it just gives you the perfect little girls day and you can stay like a 48 hour time period at the property.
So just get there in the morning and then leave late the next day.
Now on to your affirmation of the week.
I'm going to find myself again this spring.
Maybe you've already found yourself, but maybe you have just been in a slump and are trying to refine yourself.
But I love that affirmation so much.
Now on to your self-love question of the week.
When am I procrastinating that I'm going to do this spring?
I love that so much because honestly, we all have our things that we procrastinated in the winter,
so it's time to lock in on them this spring.
Now on to the podcast review.
This review is from Caitlin and Caitlin said,
This podcast might be my favorite yet.
Thank you so much, Caitlin.
I am so beyond grateful and it makes me so happy that you're enjoying the show.

Without further ado, let's get into it.
today's episode. Like I said earlier, today's episode is the perfect spring refresh. We will have the
motivation to get organized and feel like yourself again. I'm honestly so ready to feel like me again.
I feel like I'm just, my skin is not as glowing as it usually is in the springtime. And I don't feel as
like, um, what should I say? Walkable and movable. I feel like I've been kind of a lump on the log
lately. But that's what winter does to you. So it's time to get back to how. How.
we feel our best and you know deep down what makes you feel your best so we're really just going to
channel that but when it comes to spring it just is perfect to have a natural reset energy and let's be
honest everyone craves a change and routines and clarity in the springtime so if you're feeling off
and just not yourself unmotivated disconnected these are just the simple ways that you can reset
without having to overwhelm yourself because honestly a big reset can be really intimidating sometimes
that's why I'm calling it a refresh.
We're not resetting, we're just refreshing.
So it's no pressure, and this is all to benefit yourself.
This is nothing that should feel like chores or homework or distress and pressure.
This is supposed to be exciting and just making you feel like you again.
I can't be the only one who has this like dream item of theirs that they always see,
whether it's a bag, a sweater, a top, and you're like, I just need that,
but it's like sold out everywhere.
That's me with this one vintage Duny and Burke bag.
I literally was looking everywhere for it and I somehow found one on a poshmark.
But not just one.
I found multiple of them at such a good price and I was like, wait, this is just too good to be true.
So if you know me, you know I am a poshmark girl.
Poshmark is a marketplace where you can list and sell as well as buy new items, vintage pieces,
gently used, luxury pieces.

If you have been around for a while, you know the story with my
podcast where I almost didn't start it, which is crazy to me because to think that I wouldn't
have been where I am today if I didn't start, all the what ifs and doubts can just add up and
be the one thing stopping you between you and getting the dream that you want. And let's say starting
a business is you. And you want that dream business of yours. You have the idea, but all your what
ifs and doubts can add up and feel so overwhelming. But one of the best things that's going to help
you get through that roadblock of what ifs is having help and assistance. That's why if you're
thinking about starting a business, start it with Shopify. Shopify is the commerce platform
behind millions of businesses around the world and 10% of all of e-commerce in the U.S.
From household names like Jimshark to Allo Yoga to brands just getting started. I love Shopify because
it just helps in all aspects of your business, from product photography to marketing to managing
orders, they really just cover it all. And if you get stuck in the process, don't worry. They have
24-7 customer support, which is so needed. So with that said, it's time you launch fast, perfect,
later. And it's time for you to turn those what-ifs into with Shopify today. Sign up for your

not like yourself. Usually when you're feeling unorganized and just feeling off or in a slump and
feeling unmotivated has to do what's happening in your environment and in your brain. So number one,
mental clutter. I am sure that you just have too many thoughts and unfinished task and no clarity.
And again, that's normal. We all hit that point where it almost becomes like a little burnout point.
Another thing that may be kind of holding you back in your head is no structure and your routine.
the feeling of like everything is just like a broken record where days are blurring together
and also nothing just feels intentional.
That's kind of where I said even a walk in the day kind of gives you something extra and
different in your day.
That pulls you away from like work or school, whatever you're doing that kind of makes
you feel like you're living the same day over and over.
Another reason why you may be feeling unorganized and just down in a slump is overconsumption.
And do not hop on me and say, well, year one to talk.
because let's be real I am one to talk. I am one to talk. I love things and I love to overconsume,
unfortunately. I love have like when I take photos on my phone, instead of taking one photo of something on
like my meal I'm eating, I will take 15 to 30. So that's where I'm trying to work on it myself or
even if I go shopping for instance. I see I have a full card of things. I just have the urge to buy it all.
and then I'm like, you know, well, if I don't end up wearing it, I'll just donate it.
Or I'll give it to a friend.
But instead, lately I've been doing this, which I'm really proud of myself of, instead of buying
everything, I just narrow down and think, okay, I can always come back and get it if I want it,
but let's see right now, what are my top two or three favorite things?
So in general, let's think about overconsumption as another negative in our life that may be
pulling us down.
But again, I love that word.
I simply a maximalist, which can be looked at as overconsumption, but I promise you, if you knew me,
you know that I am more of a maximalist and I don't overconsume as much as I do maximalize everything.
That said, I am taking accountability and I do want to work on it to be a little more simple and minimal.
Another thing that may be pulling you down is burnout.
Burnout is something that we all come across and some more than others,
I am someone who gets burnt out very fast, very quick.
And you may be as well.
That could be from school or work or just too many things going on at once.
Sometimes we just lock the motivation, low energy,
and then we just start to have avoidance and everything feels just harder than it is.
So with all those things, I'm sure that you can relate to at least one of those things,
maybe even all.
And it's important that we realize, okay, let's change some things in order to get those things
alleviated and just taking a load off of us. So first up in this spring refresh, something that you
really need to be doing is refreshing your space. You have the option, of course, you can have a full
reset on your room. I like to have a full reset on my room once a month. And then every Sunday,
I kind of have my Sunday reset where I just pick up little things and I reorganize it, but it's not a
huge mess because I didn't save up a mess for weeks and weeks on end. So instead, I just do some
tightening every single day and then I do a little refresh on my room every Sunday and then once a
month I'll have a full on reset where like I'm cleaning the baseboards I'm wiping the windows down
but then on Sundays you can just like make your bed change your sheets clean your desk off and just do
all the little things where it honestly is like little maintenance and it makes it really easy to
keep up then decluttering the visible areas is one of the most affecting things on your mood
it will just instantly lift your mood because you're no longer seeing all the clustered
in your visible space. And when it comes to just the reset basics that you can do every Sunday
is clean your sheets, do your laundry, do your dishes. And those are just really quick achievements
and quick wins that you can celebrate. Some things that can feel like a spring refresh that
gives you like almost like a small upgrade on your room and your house is candles. So let your
candles do redecorate your room and add flowers. Another thing is open the windows, try to get
some lighting in your space. Remember, a clean space is going to equal a calmer mind and just
is going to make you feel easier to focus and feel more in control of. Our environment
affects how we think. So if your environment, meaning your room, in your house, and your desk,
and your bed is messy, your head is going to feel more messy. This is one that is not talked about
enough. But when it comes to your spring refresh, it is essential that you reset your life
in the admin part.
So we have a lot of back end work that we do, of course,
when it comes to planning our week or organizing.
But taking time into your admin work is going to literally save your life,
save your routine and make you just feel overall more organized.
So have your brain dump.
There's things in your head that are bothering you,
weighing you down, things that you need to get done.
Have your brain dump.
And everything on your mind, task, stress reminders, write it down.
Writing things down and looking at it is going to feel a lot more
easier than just storing it all in your head. From there, section everything out that's an actual
valuable task that you want to add to your schedule and routine. So you need to be organized.
So make a calendar, make a planner a to-do list, and prioritize what actually matters. Do your top
priorities. Pick like three things every single day that's a top priority. And let's say you have four
other things that you want to do. Put that on a list in your notes app to do in case you finish those
things because if you list everything you need to get done and then you wake up in the morning
look at your schedule. It's going to have like 10 different tasks and it's going to make you feel
like, oh my gosh, this is too much. It's so overwhelming. Where do I even start? And then it makes you
procrastinate and get zero done. So plan your week and that gives you direction instead of reacting
every single day of worry and feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to start. And it just is going
to reduce anxiety and honestly it's going to make you feel like every single task, every single to do,
has a place. Next up, this is very crucial for your spring refresh, but have a refresh on your mind and body.
We prioritize work in school so much more than our personal being. Let me remind you, as I always say,
we did not come on earth to live for work or school. Your job, your grades, none of that is your
identity and it's who we are as a person. I am one to talk since I am a workaholic, but I am
really, really trying to work on that. So it's so important that I do.
do this, you do this, we collectively do this, have a refresh on your mind, body, and soul.
So go outside, get sunlight, fresh air. All those things are instant mood shifters.
Another thing is move your body. It does not need to be a intense like stair master workout or a
cycling workout. It can literally just be walking, stretching, mat Pilates. It can just be literally
going outside and stretching your arms. Another thing is hydration. Hydration and eating simple meals
are going to support your energy and give you the mental clarity you need throughout the day.
Stop having your coffee on an empty stomach or running off of only coffee and zero food during the day.
Your body needs nutrients and needs food to function.
Or maybe it's time to lay off so much processed foods and lock in on some more whole foods.
With your processed foods, you can do a little both to have the balance,
but make sure you're having the nutrients you need to feel that mental clarity
and feel motivated in the day to get things done.
because if we're running off of just coffee or just donuts and cereal, I kid you not, we're not going to feel the best we could feel.
If you have been around for a while, you know the story with my podcast where I almost didn't start it, which is crazy to me because to think that I wouldn't have been where I am today if I didn't start, all the what ifs and doubts can just add up and be the one thing stopping you between you and getting the dream that you want.

First spring, one of my favorite things
has been my nails and
when my nails are done because sometimes
I just don't have time to go
to the nail salon to do my nails so I'll do them at home.
The funny thing is I actually bring the same nail
polish to the nail salon
because it's just that good and I swear by it.
I do the Olive and June gel polish
and LHG and then a gel top coat.
I use the Olive and June manny system.
Everything you need in one box for a salon quality manicure.
I love how it doesn't chip and it lasts for seven or more days.
Not only that, it comes down to being only $2 per manicure,
which is a lot more affordable than going to the nail salon.
But it has just been my current spring obsession because it just makes doing your nails at home so easy.
So if you're looking for a new manicure routine, I really recommend it.
You can visit olive and June.com slash pretty 20 for 20% off your first system.
that's O-L-I-V-E-A-N-D dot com slash P-R-E-T-T-Y-T-Y-0 for 20% off your first system.
It's time to talk about habits.
It's time you refresh your habits.
Have your morning routine and you need to have some structure.
Stop waking up and thinking, oh my gosh, you hear your alarm and then you're not knowing what to do
and your clothes are everywhere and you have to just grab things, grab your coffee and go.
You need to have some structure or that's always going to put you in a feeling a
being in a hamster wheel the minute you wake up. You're going to feel like scatterbrain. Your mind
is going to be racing and your heart is just going to be like pounding because you don't have any
structure in your routine. You don't need to be strict on yourself and having a wake up at 5 a.m.
Go to the gym. As great as that is, maybe it's not feasible for you or maybe you don't even want to do
that. But regardless, if you want it or not, you need some sort of structure. Even having two to three
habits that are in the morning that you can rely on that you're going to do every, you know,
day creates structure like no phone, maybe having water in the morning with electrolytes,
and having some light movement like a little walk or even start your mornings with your night
routine. Make your chia seeds the night before, make your overnight oats, so when you wake up
in the morning, it's not stressful in thinking, oh, when am I going to eat and then just grabbing
a donut and coffee before you leave. I feel like I'm really hating on donut and coffees lately,
but I'm not. I just am saying that as like examples. Those are great and divine and I love those
myself in moderation, but in general, we need to have some structure and our morning in some nutrients
to make us feel motivated and energized throughout the day. Now when it comes to your night routine,
it signals to your brain to slow down and reset when you allow it to. So if you're scrolling on
your phone until 3 a.m., your body's not allowing yourself to rest and slow down and reset for the
next day. Instead, you're still on the same things your brain is going and your body's awake and not going
with the sun. I always like to think of your body rises and falls asleep with the sun. Same thing
when it comes to food. When you wake up in the morning, eat with the sun. Wake up with the sun.
When you go to bed, go to sleep and it's dark. Having that structure in your night routine is going
to signal for you and your body to slow down and rest. And I'm guarantee you you're going to feel
a lot more well rested when you wake up the next day. This ties into staying up at night and
scrolling on your phone at 3 a.m. or scrolling between
your work in school breaks when you need to be studying or working. Think about this. How much time
you're spending do them scrolling. Yes, scrolling on your phone is great. I do it. We all do it.
And we all have bad habits of doing it. I sometimes will catch myself. I'm like, how did a full
hour go by? I literally thought I was just scrolling for 10 minutes. And no, it was a full hour.
So start being intentional every single time when you go on your phone or go and scroll on social
media. I have an episode about this recently on how to stop doom scrolling and be more intentional.
But doom scrolling is the perfect way to procrastinate because you're not having to do what you're
wanting to do and you're seeing entertainment on your phone. So reducing doom scrolling is going to give
less noise to your brain and more motivation. Next up, when it comes to habits is habits create
stability when movement isn't there. I always love that quote and what it means is when let's say we're
to wake up and not every day we're going to feel motivated. Not every day we're going to feel like,
oh, I want to go to the gym. I want to eat healthy. I want to do my work. Who does that? Like literally,
who in the world feels motivated every single day? I know I don't. Some days I wake up and I'm like,
you know what I could do? I could just sit all day, eat chocolate and lay in bed and definitely
have those days. It's essential we do for our enjoyment of our soul. But in general, we can't do
that every day. So it's important to have habits because that's going to create stability.
If I know, okay, every night I'm going to lay out my gym clothes. So I wake up in the morning and my
gym clothes are there. My shoes are there. All I have to do is wake up and go to the gym. That is a habit.
And that gives me stability I need. So when I wake up and I think, oh, I don't want to work out today,
all my gym clothes are already laid out. All I have to do is put on my clothes and go to the gym.
Okay. Next up, when it comes to feeling like you again, put effort in.
into your appearance. Of course, when people say, it's not about your appearance. Of course. It's not about
our appearance. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. But it matters what you think. You want to feel
good about yourself. So show up for yourself. It's going to shift how you feel internally when you
show up for yourself physically. So wear outfits that you actually like. And that's going to give you
almost like an identity reset. So maybe you're wearing things right now that you just feel comfortable in
and you're not going out of your comfort zone to wear things that you actually like,
put on the clothes that you love.
Like, if you see it on a girl on Pinterest or you see it on social media, your friend,
you see somebody you like wearing it, you think it looks cute on them.
Why are you not thinking it looks cute on you?
You look just as good as they do in it.
So stop thinking, oh, one day when I have a perfect body or a perfect nose or a perfect hair
I'm going to wear those outfits?
No.
Get the outfits on now because nothing's guaranteed.
Our future is not guaranteed.
All that's guaranteed is what you can do right now at the present moment.
So create that identity for yourself.
What do you like?
Start wearing it.
Another thing to feel like you again is start having solo hobbies and solo time for yourself
to reconnect with yourself.
You're your own best friend.
Be your own date.
Be your own best friend.
So what does that look like for you?
Maybe going to coffee, going on a walk, having a little solo trip with yourself.
It doesn't matter what it is.
Spend time with yourself.
And most of all, when it comes to feeling like you again, stop waiting on a reason to feel good.
Stop thinking, when I get the friends I like, I'll feel happy.
When I get the boyfriend I like, I'll feel confident when they compliment me.
Stop waiting on validation from others and waiting on achieving certain things physically to start feeling good about yourself.
Now when it comes to romanticizing our life, which I love to talk about this.
Of course, it's cliche, but it's not because here's why.
you need to start doing it. Romanticizing your life is so underrated and people say it and people don't
like it because everyone says it. But are you really romanticizing your life? Like are you seriously
living your life as the girl you watch and videos does? Or are you living your life the way
you look at the girls on Pinterest? Start adding intention into your life. Music, candles, slow moments,
frolicking around and almost even pretending like you were literally like as cringy as this may sound
like your own character and your own story and most of all start living for your eight and 80 year old self
you have to stop caring about the opinions of others because that literally does not matter
when you start living for yourself and stop caring what people think like truly stop in your heart
caring what anyone thinks and starts living for you you will finally be happy
next step is make routines enjoyable when it comes to romanticizing your life so don't just have
routines and habits and things that you have to do throughout the day as a chore to get through
them but instead make them enjoyable where you put on music put on a podcast have your macha while
you do your laundry put your headphones in at the grocery store put a movie on while you cook dinner
it's so important that you find small moments of happiness daily and stop waiting for big
changes or overnight success to make you happy. Life feels so much better when you're present in it.
Now lastly, when it comes to simple goals for spring, I want you to choose two to three realistic habits
that you really want to lock in this spring. These can be daily goals or goals that you want to
achieve that are more like, okay, this is a one goal or two goals that I want to achieve for spring.
But choose your goals, choose your habits, and don't choose 10 goals to have by the end of the
the spring and don't choose five to ten different habits that you want to have all throughout your
days. That's only going to leave you overwhelmed and our goal is to say calm, not overwhelmed,
feel whimsical, light, and motivated. Another thing is have one thing that you look for to weekly.
And don't just have it where it's sporadic, plan it out. So maybe go book a dinner reservation
for yourself or go book a movie date with yourself or a little pottery class, a painting class,
whatever it is have it planned have it book so you know what to do when that day rolls around
and let that be a non-negotiable and i know those things that i listed can be kind of pricey
but you can do so many things for yourself that is free i have so many videos and podcast episodes
on solo hobbies and solo dates you can take yourself on that literally costs zero dollars
but like i said have something to look forward to that keeps you motivated and most of all when it
comes to your spring refresh, everything we talked about, focus on consistency, not perfection.
Remember, you don't need a full life overhaul or a full life reset in order to feel like you've
achieved things and found yourself again. When it comes to progress, it's not going to come
overnight. It's going to come from the small changes and healthy habits that add up that you do
every day. Getting organized is going to make you feel like yourself again. This is all in your hand,
so you have the permission to reset and start fresh for the spring.
I love you so much and I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I did recording it.
