Hello, my love. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you are new here, welcome to the show. We talk all about becoming the best version of you and ultimately becoming happy and living your dream life. And of course, all other things surrounding the color pink and self-care. But let's not waste any time and get straight into the episode. Today we're going to talk about all about how you should reflect on the year and let go. There are things that we just hold onto that we need to let go.
this year and not move into the new year with these things. And I think it's so important to reflect
because we'll be able to figure out what do we want to keep and bring into the new year coming
up. And what do we want to leave in the past, whether that's bad habits, relationships,
whatever it is. That's for you to decide. But we're going to get into that episode today. But first,
let's start off with our weekly review. This week, I have just embracing the past few days of
the holidays. And I'm really trying to make sure that I do the little holiday.
holiday activities that I love, such as watching movies, I'm going to do a little gingerbread
house and really just savor and be present the next few days before the holidays are over.
Another thing this week is I really want to finish the year off strong, so I really just trying
to plan and get anything finished up that I want to finish for this year.
And lastly, this week is I really want to plan for the exciting year ahead, which we are going
to have many episodes coming up all about planning for the new year, and they're going to be so
motivating and exciting, but we're going to do this together and I am so proud of you. Now onto my
current obsession. My current obsession at the moment is heated workout classes. I feel like heated
workout classes are so nice, especially in the winter because it is cold and chilly outside,
but then when you get into the heat, you just get that great amount of sweat going and it just
feels so nice and refreshing. Another current obsession at the moment is my point set as I think they're just
the most perfect holiday flower and they're so beautiful. If you have cats, make sure to not have
them at all in the area that they can get them because they're poisonous. But I love Poinsettas.
There's pink and white ones at Trader Joe's right now and they are beautiful. Another current
obsession at the moment is my nude sticks lip gloss that I just got. It's like a collabed lip gloss
with Hot Smart Rich and it's a maple syrup lip gloss. I have never tried in maple syrup lip gloss
until this and it has been the only thing I've been using the past few days.
Now moving on to my goal of the week.
My goal of the week right now is to sign with a new podcast network.
I have been getting a lot of offers lately.
Thanks to you guys for helping grow busy get pretty.
I'm so grateful for you guys always spreading the word over your stories and TikTok and
everything to help reach more people who want to become the best version of them.
But yes, I'm really excited.
Stay tuned.
If I end up signing with a new network, I will definitely.
keep you guys updated because you guys are my besties. Now on to my other goal of the week
right now which is to read more and do less screen time. I feel like we're just so locked
into our phones and our computers and especially during the holidays and the time where we're
just staying in in the winter we just naturally reach for our phone because it's too cold to go
outside. So it's really important to make sure you do things that allow your eyes to rest
not have all that artificial blue light and do things that are hands on that actually give you
some memories and experience. For me, that's touching base with nature. And if it's too cool to do
that outside, then I'd love to read or do some baking. But anything away from a screen. And my last
current obsession at the moment is to brainstorm and do a little vision board party. So I think I'm
going to be hosting a vision board little brunch event for my LA babes and listeners the first week of
January. So if that's something you'd be interested in, please message both my main account and the
busy at Pretty account so we can connect and if there's a spot for you, I will definitely send it
your way. Now on to your self-love question. What have you learned most about yourself this year?
I love that question so much because I feel like that question is the definition of reflection,
which we are in fact doing today. And your affirmation for this week is, this year turned out
exactly how it needed to be for the next year to be even better. I love that affirmation so much
because sometimes like we're going to get into this episode
where we're going to feel like guilt or just regret
or wishing we did things different
or not understanding why this year, you know,
maybe turned out so bad for you.
And it's important to realize that this year
happened exactly how it should
for the following year, this upcoming year,
to become even better for you.
Now on to your challenge of the week.
Take a second to text three people
who positively impacted your year.
That can be a friend, a teacher,
anyone and hearing that you were positively impacting someone's year can mean so much to that person
because not only is that going to make them feel grateful that you told them, but it's also going to
allow them to feel motivated to do that to other people and keep spreading that joy and generosity.
Now moving on to the podcast review. If you want to be featured on next week's episode,
make sure you leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts and leave a five star over Spotify.
This review is from Charlotte and Charlotte,
I am a student and I've been trying to find ways to love myself and stay motivated and productive
throughout my day.
This podcast has checked all of my boxes.
I looked up Clean Girl podcast on Pinterest and this was accurately highly rated.
I listened to it while I get ready and it's the reason I get up.
It has helped me in so many ways and made me the best version of myself.
My love, Charlotte, that review made me so happy to hear and I am just so glad that it makes
you look forward to waking up in the morning and to have you.
have, you know, some extra motivation. Every single review that I ever read just makes me tear up
every single time. You guys never failed to make me so grateful and happy and I am immensely thankful
for all your support. Now without further ado, it is time we get into today's episode. My love,
you did it. You did it. This year has literally come to an end. For some of us, it's felt like
such a longing, hard year. And for some of us, it's felt like the best year ever and we never
wanted to end. Regardless of how your year went, we are all needing to collectively just pause,
take a second, and reflect on our year. So let's dive into reflecting on the year and letting
things go that no longer serve you. 2024 was a year that you may have experienced pain, joy, loss,
excitement, struggle, or success. But regardless of what the hero emotion that you experienced were,
or whatever emotion that you would describe this past year, this year worked out as it
should. Even if you believe that, you know, why did this happen to you this year or what,
why did it turn out to be like this this year? Regardless of what you're feeling, everything works as
it should and you have to put trust in that. Because one day you're going to look back and think,
wow, if that didn't happen in my life, it would have not brought me to this. Everything is like
a puzzle in your life. And your life is always determined on the choices you make and what you believe
you deserve in life. Because when you know what you want and you will get what you deserve is when, you
the world's going to have these little puzzle pieces and these roadblocks happen and you're just going to
figure out how to navigate them and it's all going to make sense in the end it's going to make sense why
you had to switch schools and leave your best friend you know that school brought you to making you find
a new city that you absolutely loved and decided to go to a big university after it's a domino effect
even if it feels like these roadblocks are painful and not supposed to happen you have to relax
and stop looking at the negative side of things.
When you begin to reflect, you may be feeling desperation towards this time because you're afraid to move on and maybe leave this year.
Maybe you have the best year ever.
So you're kind of just holding on to this year and you're scared hoping that 2025 is as good as 2024 was.
Or like I said, maybe you experienced some sort of sadness during this year where you had a loss, where you lost a person, a relationship, a job, or something important to you.
and you have this desperation to hold onto that because you're so scared to leave that in 2024
and knowing you're entering this year without it.
But let me tell you that those things that happened did not happen to you.
They happened for you.
The universe, the law of attraction, God, whatever higher power you believe in is on your side when you believe it.
I know what I want in life.
I have my vision and I do my job and my doing to make sure those things happen.
but I also leave and put my trust into the universe to allow that stuff to attract to me and to come to me.
And let me just say it does.
But the world is on your side when you begin being on your own side.
What I mean by that is who would want to be on your, who would want to have belief in you if you don't even have belief in yourself?
You have to believe in yourself.
You have to love yourself.
And you have to know that this is possible because you have the courage and capability to do this.
and that is when the world, God, or whatever higher power is going to believe in you as well.
You can't expect someone else to believe in you when you don't even believe in yourself.
When it comes to our emotion, you may be feeling some sort of regret or guilt that you could have
or should have done something different this year.
You maybe should have handled your job better or you should have handled your relationship better.
Whatever it is, you have to forget it, drop it, and let it go because you are human.
We're all humans.
We're all figuring things out.
and you have to accept the heart truth is you cannot change what's already happened.
You can't go back in time.
But what you can do is shape the future and create that story ahead of you.
What is meant to be in your life will find you.
So don't waste time wallowing and regret and guilt when you could have spent time being happy right now or enjoying your life.
It's one thing for something to happen and to have a little remorse or sadness or guilt.
But it's another thing when you spend the rest of your story,
a victim mindset of, that's my life, that's what it is now, and I hate my life, what is that
going to change for you? And I'm not dismissing how you're feeling because let me just say,
what you're feeling is completely valid and whatever you may feel is completely okay and many
people feel that. But you can't continue to write this victim mindset because that's all you're
going to be. Nothing's going to get better from doing that. Like I said, don't waste time,
wallowing and regret and guilt when you could be happy and enjoying your life.
If one thing left your life, let it go.
Because if it's truly meant for you,
if it's truly meant to get back in your life,
it will seamlessly find its way back into your life.
And think about this.
Why would you want something that does not want you back?
Or why would you want something that is not meant for you?
It may feel meant for you and right for you at that time,
but you know what you want in the end of the day.
And even if that looks like, you know, for instance,
your dream life is living in your dream house,
a big large house and the house you had your eye on that you were going to buy is now sold.
Stop thinking about that house.
That is a blessing because that house was not meant for you.
You're still going to get your dream house.
It just wasn't that one.
Same with a relationship.
If you have your dream guy in mind and you think, oh my gosh, I love my boyfriend.
And all of a sudden, you guys break up.
Listen, your dream life wasn't to have him then.
It's to have whatever your dream version of that guy is.
It may not be him.
but it's going to be something even better.
If you reflect and realize, you know what, I kind of settled this year.
Or, you know what, I kind of compromised too much on things this year.
Then this is your chance to learn from those mistakes and move forward with those.
Most of all, when you begin to reflect, acknowledge how far you've come.
I don't mean measure your success on how productive you were this year or how much you achieved.
But reflect in the way of this year.
Look at how far you've come with your personal growth,
overcoming roadblocks, getting through those hard challenges and those hard days, and look how much
you faced and overcome. And most importantly, look at all you've learned. As much as you don't feel
like it is at the time, there is always greatness and positivity and a lesson to leave with from
everything in your life. So if this year felt like a mess, there's still lessons hidden in between
all those roadblocks that you're going to use in this upcoming year. As you reflect and think of all
your new year resolutions that you set for yourself in the beginning of this year, you may only have
a few checked off compared to all the many of goals that you originally wrote down. And seeing that
and realizing, why did I only check off one goal or why did I only check off a few goals compared to
all the ones I wrote down can feel discouraging? It can feel like you failed. But let me remind you
that 99% of us only achieve a very small fraction of what we wrote down in the beginning of the
year. It is not only you. Okay, I wrote down pages of goals. Guess how much I achieved? A tiny
fraction of that. We tend to overset in the beginning of the year when it comes to our goals or
New Year's resolutions because at that time, it feels so great and you really have all that
belief in yourself, as you should, you should have all that belief in yourself, but you really
believe you can do it all that you're writing down. But, you know, throughout the year, things come up
and plans change and things happen and the world has other plans for you sometimes and that prevented you from achieving all your goals or it shifted your focus a bit but it's okay even if we end up accomplishing barely any of the goals we wrote down this year that's okay don't feel disappointed on what you haven't done yet you have a lifetime ahead of you and there is no rush no matter what age you are no matter what stage you are in life there is no rush and it's so crucial that you actually give yourself
grace and time to relax and recharge.
I can't be the only one who has this dream item of theirs that they always see,
whether it's a bag, a sweater, a top, and you're like, I just need that, but it's
like sold out everywhere.
That's me with this one vintage Duny and brick bag.
I literally was looking everywhere for it and I somehow found one on a posh mark.
But not just one.
I found multiple of them at such a good price and I was like, wait, this is just too good to be
true. So if you know me, you know I am a Poshmark girl. Poshmark is a marketplace where you can list and sell
as well as buy new items, vintage pieces, gently used, luxury pieces, they really just have it all.
And I feel like there's no better time to go on Poshmark now. Everyone's cleaning out their closet
and listing good things. Get in bed, get cozy, and go in Pashmark to add to your new spring wardrobe.
New deals and sales are listed every day, so don't wait. Download the Poshmark app and use code

If you were that 1% who managed to check off all your goals that you set at the beginning
of the year or all your New Year's resolutions, be proud of yourself because you showed up for
yourself and you held yourself accountable.
and the goals that you believe that you could achieve, you did.
And if you think this was my best year yet, find and reflect on those things, what helped it be the best year?
How was your organization, your routines, how are your healthy habits?
Take those positive things that helped you this year and made you be successful this year and take them into the new year.
You have to look back and think, what prevented me from getting to where I want to be and what made me where I'm at today?
Decipher from the positive and negative.
See what you need to bring into the new year.
Drop all your negative, bring in the positive.
Even if that's a love-hate relationship type thing.
If it's a toxic relationship that is bringing you down,
but you love them, but it's bringing you down
and you always feel bad after you see them,
that's a negative.
Even though, yeah, it has a little positive because you love them.
That's a negative.
And as hard as it is to decipher and really think,
what was the positive and negative?
You have to let it go.
You have to let it go as much as it hurts
because you can love something,
but no, it's not right for you at the same time.
Or things in the moment,
but in the end of the day,
you know it's a bad, unhealthy habit,
such as scrolling way too long on your phone
or staying up way too late.
Those are not the healthiest habits,
and those are things that you can let go this year
and change for the upcoming year.
Even though it feels good at the time,
let me just tell you the results
of cutting those negative things out are going to feel a hundred times better as that temporary excitement
it gave you. As you guys know, I am someone who preaches that we should all have the best in life
when it comes to your career, your happiness, your health, your well-being, but it can all kind of
add up and become too overwhelming, which is why it's time to let go of some stress and help book
your doctor appointments with Zoc Doc. Doc is a free app and website where you can search and
compare high quality in network doctors, choose the right one for your needs, and click to instantly
book an appointment. We're talking about in-network appointments with more than 100,000 healthcare
providers across every specialty, from mental health to dental health, eye care, to skincare,
and much more. Plus, sock-doc appointments happen fast, typically within 24 to 72 hours of booking.
You can even score same-day appointments. In my previous episodes, I talked about how I thought
I had a lump on my breast and scheduling can be so hard, especially when you try to find someone who takes your insurance.
So being able to find a doctor that truly cares that takes my insurance and can get an appointment fast is exactly what I need and you need to take that extra stress off of you.
As much as you prioritize your career, what you're going to be wearing throughout the week, taking care of your health and finding someone who's truly going to help your need is just as important.
So stop putting off all those doctor appointments and go to Zocdoch.com slash busy.
to find an instantly book a top rated doctor today. That's Z ocdoc.com slash busy.
Zocdoc.com slash busy.
Trust me, you will not regret making your life easier by scheduling appointments for all your
health needs with Sock Doc.
But when you reflect on all your mistakes and your roadbox and the lessons you'll be taking
from this year, you need to carry those healthy habits, positivity, and those lessons with
you into the new year because you're headed into a new year.
if you learn some lessons from your mistakes this year,
those are going to be the biggest advantages for you this upcoming year.
Mistakes create lessons and lessons are advantages.
I just quoted that for myself.
Can we turn that into a quote?
Because honestly, that is so true.
But like I was saying,
stop looking at everyone else and comparing yourself to everyone
when you're going into this new year.
When you reflected, you may realize that you started comparing yourself
and you started looking around to other people
and it distracted you.
When you're on your run
and trying to get to the finish line,
but you're getting distracted by everyone else
in your surroundings,
as when the turtle who's slowly walking
wins the race.
Be the version of yourself
where you are not doing anything for anyone
but you,
and especially focus on looking straight ahead
with your eye on the prize.
There's definitely times
we all throughout this past year
got distracted.
We looked at other people
and we forgot to keep her eye
on the prize and realize this is not a race. The only race you have is with yourself and stop
making it a race and instead just continue looking at the prize and push forward. I'm going to save a lot of
the motivation part for next week's episode because we're going to talk all about New Year's episodes
and all that stuff to motivate you for the new year ahead. But back to what I was saying on reflection.
But there will be a time in life where you are on your deathbed and you're wishing you enjoyed your
life more. You're wishing that you truly embrace the true meaning of life. You'll realize that your job
didn't define you. Your career didn't define you. When you held back from embarrassment, none of those people
actually cared. You'll realize that your body weight wasn't a hobby to obsess over for health and
wellness, but rather it was a numbing fixation to hide any pain that you were feeling. And you'll realize
that you spent way too much time worrying and thinking, what if things don't work out? We're
all guilty of thinking, what if things don't work out? When we're, you know, ready to take a risk
or we took that risk and we're just worried that what if things don't work out? And that's a valid
question. But instead of asking yourself that question, replace it with this moving forward.
What if I didn't try? Because when you finally begin to realize that this is your life and nobody,
nobody is caring what you do, nobody is looking at you the way you feel like people are looking at you,
and nobody is in charge of you,
is when you finally set yourself free
to go after your goals,
achieve your dream life,
and become the person that you've always dreamed of becoming.
And that at the end of the day,
when you're sitting in your dream house
with your dream family
and enjoying your life, being present,
and being happy,
is when you're finally going to ask yourself.
The question,
what if I didn't try?
I love you guys so much
and I hope you enjoyed this episode
as much as I did recording it.
I feel like this season,
year has been very long and crazy for everyone in the best and the downest ways. And regardless of how
you exited this year, you were a different person in the beginning of this year, whether you're
feeling that you left as a better person or as not as a greater person. It doesn't matter because
we're entering a new year to become the best version of you. And I know you guys are hearing this all
the time. Everyone's talking about wellness. Everyone's talking about, you know, new year, new me.
But I do want to remind you that even if it's halfway through the year, or you didn't start on January 1st, but you started in March, or you started in June or July, it doesn't matter when you start. When you start is the perfect day to start. Because if you keep thinking to yourself, I'll start the beginning of next year, or I'll start when a new cycle starts of the season. That's only going to prevent you from being productive and getting progress. Already, I have to.
my new year's goals I'm trying to brainstorm and one of them is for working out and doing more
workouts and I'm not waiting till January 1st. I started working out a lot more this week to
begin slowly transitioning into those goals when the new year rolls around. The date, the schedule,
the date it is, the time, that's just a date. It just is numbers. When you start is the perfect time
because then you'll look back and think, oh, well, if I just started then, I would have had all this
progress and it would have been so much more easier. The hardest thing is starting. So whatever that is,
for you, be mindful of that. But before we get into this, the motivational episodes of what we're
going to do for the new year and all our new year's goals, relax, be present, enjoy the holidays,
and enjoy slowing down. In the next episodes, we're going to talk all about how to become the best
version of you this upcoming year, goals to set, how to be consistent. And honestly, all things
healthy, healthy habits, routines, self-care, and any episode requests that you guys have.
If you have any episode requests for the upcoming year, make sure to comment them on
the busy at pretty Instagram because I take note of every single episode request.
Make sure to tag in any stories or TikToks that you post because I always love to repost them.
I love you so much.
I am so beyond grateful for you.
This year unraveled exactly as it should have, even if you don't feel that way.
I promise you, the world is on your side.
Take a breath, slow down, reflect, and be present.
I love you again.
And don't forget to stay busy yet pretty.
M-h.
