Welcome back to the busy yet pretty podcast.
I'm your host, Jane Haley.
I hope you dolls have been doing lovely as always per usual.
I am just so excited to tell you guys.
I got my hair cut, which is so crazy.
I mean, it's not that crazy of a difference,
but I'm obsessed with it.
I got layers and I darkened my hair.
So if you guys want to see what it looks like,
I have photos over my Instagram.
But anyways, that has just been the highlight of my week.
I just had to share it with you guys because, you know, you guys are my best friends.
I tell you everything.
Okay, guys, let's get straight into our weekly review.
So this week, I wanted to tell you guys about the wellness day that I had, which was so fun.
I went to a really fun wellness event, and it was literally just so nice.
I love wellness days.
I feel like days that are just packed with wellness activities are the ones that refuel me and motivate me the most.
So I just have a love that and I got a lymphatic drainage which is so nice.
I have been doing lymphatic drainage to myself every single night with a lymphatic drainage
tool and it's really helped to just get away excess water off my body and it just is so nice.
But I got a lymphatic drainage massage the other day as well as trying oxygen bar which is super
nice which is like breathing really clean air.
we also were able to meditate and there's like a sound bath which was so nice they had cold plunges
B12 shots IVs I of course did not do anything that had to do with a needle so you know I skipped
out on the B12 shots but everything else was just so nice so relaxing and I actually have a YouTube
video coming out about it very soon because I had to vlog that day it was just so so fun so if you
guys do want to check that out. It will be in my new YouTube video soon. Another thing this week is
my family, which was my mom and grandma, headed over to visit me this week. And it was really nice.
I think something that's so exciting is when your family from out of town is now coming into
your town and you kind of just get to show them around, show me your favorite spots. I just love
family time and I don't know. I just love it. Another weekly review is I have been
trying new Pilates studios. I just tried another one a few days ago and it was so nice. I just love a
good intense Pilates session. Sometimes Pilates can feel kind of like simple or easy and it's really
nice to work the muscles that you don't usually work. So when I feel sore the next day, that's when I know
it was a good Pilates session. So I have just been trying new Pilates places and I've been loving it.
Okay, now moving on to my current obsessions. So,
my current obsession is chia seed pudding. I love chia seed pudding. I'm sure you guys have seen the
chia seed like mix with water and lemon before, but I truly am just like a chia seed pudding girl.
So I love mixing it with almond milk and honey. It just tastes so, so amazing. So I've been doing
a chia seed pudding with fruit on top and it's one of my go-to breakfast and snacks. Another current
obsession is avocados. I have always been an avocado girl, but lately I have been loving avocado and
arugula. Same with arugula. I used to hate arugula and all of a sudden, I have to have it with
every meal. It just is so good. And dark leafy, bitter greens are also so good for your health.
So I have just been loving arugula and avocado. Another cramp session is guashaing. I love to
guasha every single day. I have taken a good break from guashering for a while. And just this past month,
I've gotten back into it. And I have just been loving my night routine being able to guasha and have
lymphatic drainage, which are both very similar things. Kind of a lymphatic drainage is more for your
body and then gwashing for your face. So I have just been loving that so, so much. It's really helped me
get a lot of excess water off me and it just feels so nice, relaxing, and I love it. It also really
helps your digestive system to have lymphatic drainage is. So you can literally do it at home yourself.
Okay, another cramp session is my dark hair and my haircut. Literally, I cannot tell you guys how much
I love my hair right now. I have had the same hair style for a while now, which is just my long
hair and it's been needing a good cut. So this cut was so needed as well as layering and darkening
my hair. It just looks so nice, glossy and healthy. Another current obsession is simple,
classy outfits. I used to be really into color and don't get me wrong. I still am. I wake up
every day with wanting to wear something new. I have just been loving really simple neutrals.
and I think dressing them up to look really classy, it's just so, so cute.
So I have just been really drawn to classy outfits and really cute, like simple neutrals.
So that has been my go-to for clothes.
Lastly, my current obsession is my honey jar.
Guys, I got the cutest honey jar I've ever seen.
Literally, I am obsessed and somehow it keeps the honey so fresh.
I got a honey jar from CB2.

I think it was like $6.
And it's the cutest honey jar ever.
And it comes with like a little honey spoon.
So it just is so cute.
I'm obsessed with it.
Now on to the goal of the week.
So my goal of the week is to start doing morning Pilates again.
I have just been doing like sporadic workouts throughout the week,
which is totally great.
But I really realized how Pilates in the morning,
just doing even like 15 to 30 minutes,
just starts my day off so nicely.
So I really want to start doing Pilates in the morning.
My favorite thing to do is the Pilates class online.
I found that website and I absolutely ran with it.
I literally do it all the time.
I love it.
It's definitely my favorite Pilates platform.

and I just love it so much. It's my favorite. So I want to start doing that more often.
Another goal of the week is to try a new dinner recipe. I actually did last night, but you know,
I really want to start doing more new recipes because it can be kind of easy to just repeat
the same things. And, you know, we always want to grow. We always want to evolve. So definitely
trying out some new dinner recipes. Another goal of the week is to try working in different spaces.
I realize I work the best and been the most productive when I switch up where I'm working and the location of where I'm working.
So I really want to try switching places up and trying new places to work at.
So it just allows me to continue being productive.
Another goal of the week is to begin a new project.
I swear I'm the person who starts everything at once.
Like I can't just start one thing and finish one thing.
I always want to start a ton of things and finish them all at once because,
I just have a million ideas that I want to accomplish and I have some really good ideas in mind soon.
So I really want to start a new project soon, which will be really exciting.
That includes you dolls.
So I'm very excited and we will circle back to that really soon.
Okay, moving on to a self-love question to ask yourself.
When do you feel your most confident?
I love that question so much because it allows you to reflect and see what environment
makes you feel the most confident, what people, what do you wear? And I just love that so much.

Moving on to the quote of the week. Don't tell people your plans. Show them your results.
That is just a quote that I live by. I love to just show people my results and not walk them
through the plan because it's so rewarding to be excited and to work in silence and the success
will show on the outside. So I just love that quote so much.
Now on to the weekly challenge.
So the weekly challenge is drink a glass full of water right when you wake up and right before
bed.
I have been doing this for so many years now and it's a habit like I need water.
The minute I wake up and the minute I go to bed.
So it's really good to always be hydrated.
And I promise you once you lock in that habit, you will feel so much better in the morning
and going to bed.
Without further ado, let's get into today's episode.
So today's episode's a little short.
because I just wanted to talk to you guys about some small ways to improve your life.
I just love this topic and I'm so excited for this episode because we tend to look past the
small things and little do we know, the small things can bring us the most joy.
And most of the things I'll be listing are free of expense and you can literally do it yourself.
Simple things can just bring us so much joy in life and I really like to take action to incorporate
those small things into my life because those little small things are so important to shape us
who we are and we forget small things can be a huge impact. You'd be surprised how much happiness
little things can actually bring you when you're aware and acknowledge it. Another thing is we also
tend to expect a lot in life and we become immune to getting happy from only bigger things. It's really
good to almost like humble yourself and bring yourself back down because I promise you once you do that,
you will become such a happier person.
Appreciating and acknowledging small things are just a really good way to almost like detox off of old habits and expectations that will allow you to have a much better outlook on life.
So these are some small favorite ways of mind that I improve my life.
So starting off with the morning, some small things that I love that truly do improve my morning is fresh air.
I always make it a priority to get fresh air in the morning.
It really just wakes me up.
It makes me feel good and just gets me started for the day.
Another one is meditating, whether that's three minutes, one minute, or 10 minutes.
Meditating really can just allow you to wake up with a very clear mind and get started for the day
because I know it's really common to wake up and feel stressed.
Maybe you're nervous about how your day is going to go, the test you're going to take,
if you're going to get that job.
So it's really good to just meditate and bring yourself down to feeling.
at peace and at ease where you're able to start your day on a clear positive note.
Another thing is Pilates or a workout.
Pilates for five minutes or six minutes.
It literally doesn't have to be long,
but any little thing of movement in the morning is so small,
yet it can impact you so much throughout your day,
where I will feel so much more energized and feel so much more awake
if I just start the day with a little movement.
So I really recommend that as a small way to improve your morning.
Now moving on to one of my favorite small ways that I improve my life where I think this is
so underrated and I know everyone has it and I know everyone talks about it, but I still think
that it's not shared enough about because this is one of the best small, minuscule,
easy things to do that improves my day every single day, which is my five-minute journal.
It literally asks you three journal prompts in the morning, which is,
what are you grateful for? What would make your day great? And a daily affirmation. Then in the evening,
I ask you two more journal prompts, which is, what was the highlight of your day and what did you learn today?
I think it just gives you such a good opportunity to be mindful. So if you guys want to purchase one yourself,
but I promise you, this has been one of the best ways I've improved my life with such a small thing.
Another thing for your morning that you can do to start off your day good is text or call when
your family members or your friend.
I think it's so good to just start your day off on a positive note, see what other people
are doing and it also will help motivate you too.
Or even just wishing someone a good day.
Something else that sounds really weird, but in the morning I love just sitting in silence.
I mean hearing no music, no nothing, just really sitting in silence and gathering my thoughts,
feeling calm before the day of rushing and stress comes ahead.
It's really good to start your day off without a lot of stress.
so I love sitting in silence and just preparing for the day.
Another thing is, is saying aloud what I'm grateful for.
I will literally just walk around my house, just saying what I'm grateful for.
I am so grateful for my life.
I am so grateful for who I am.
I am so grateful for my family.
I am so grateful for the sky.
I will literally just start naming things I'm grateful for.
And it will automatically put you in a good mood.
It's so simple, yet it makes such a big impact on your day.
Another little thing that you can do to start your day off positively is spray some perfume on.
I love just spraying on some perfume.
It just makes me feel so, I don't know, so put together, so ready.
And it just, I don't know, I love just spraying a little sprits of perfume right in the morning,
whether I got ready or I'm just having a little chill day and sweats.
I just feel like perfume just makes you feel ready and ready to go for the day.
I know we can think of things that make us happy.
Like, for instance, you may think, oh, shopping.
a new bag, a fancy restaurant, or getting a new car.
Yeah, of course, all those things make us happy,
but we really need to stop because we are forgetting about the small joys.
When we step back and strip away our expectations,
we are able to actually be present and enjoy the simple things in life.
And I promise when you begin doing this,
you will become such a happier person and appreciate more in life.
I literally just count the simple joys in life,
and I notice and I'm aware of them.
When you acknowledge them and you really source out small little things that make you happy,
the big things will feel so much better because we are so used to getting happiness from big things that happens
instead of small, simple things.
So it's really good to just bring yourself down and find the small things that make you happy.
And those big great things that will happen will make you feel 10 times better than they do right now.
For instance, I'm aware of a little butterfly that flies by.
I'm aware of the happiness I get when I face time to talk to my mom.
I appreciate sitting in silence.
All of those are really simple joys in life that we easily look past.
Stop looking past the simple joys and be appreciative and be aware of them.

So some things that I do in the afternoon slash midday that are simple joys that bring me such a big impact to my day is drink a drink of choice.
So maybe a matcha or a coffee or a chay latte. Something just to like give me a little pickup. It literally can be,
anything and I'm sure you guys have some sort of drink at home. It can be any little drink to just
give you a little kickstart for the rest of the day and just boost your motivation. So that's
something that I love. Another thing is stretching. I think stretching like midday is so essential
because, you know, most of us are sitting or just occupied with one thing instead of taking time
and getting off our phone or stopping work and literally just stretching for under a minute. It can make you feel
so good and just feel so much more energized.
Another thing that I love for a little afternoon simple joy is a little Pinterest scroll.
I feel like going on Pinterest gives me so much motivation.
I'm sure it does to you guys as well.
Or if you decide to look at a vision board or anything that gives you motivation is so important
because it can leave you such a big impact.
So for instance, if you're feeling unmotivated and you did a little scroll on Pinterest
or take a little look at your vision board,
it can get you so much motivation to be productive the rest of the day
instead of dragging along wondering when the day is going to end.
So that's something that I do that really has a big impact in my life.
Another thing could be putting on a podcast, you know, maybe busy yet pretty
and just kind of stepping away from what you're doing right now
and just listen to someone else talk.
That can always be really nice.
Same with watching a motivational video.
There's so many motivational videos.
on the internet or like I said, podcast that can really give you a quick little energy and
motivation boost to be productive the rest of the day. So I really love that as well. I always just
need a little boost of motivation partway through the day and it totally allows me to reset my mind
and just finish off the day strong. Practicing and incorporating simple joys into my life
has made me become more present. Something that I notice is we tend to always look ahead and be
excited for the future, which is great, but we forget to live in the present. We think towards
the future and once that future becomes your present, already you're onto thinking of something
else. Instead, do both. Look towards the future and live in the present. So a few things I do in the
evening to just really help me have a little simple joy that impacts my day is dinner with music.
I will literally put on some jazz music and it's so relaxing and nice. And it just allows me to
calm my mind, decompress, and be hands-on cooking dinner and not focusing on any other things.
So I love doing that and something else to top it off is lighting a candle while you eat dinner.
It's literally the simplest joy and it can just make you feel so nice and think about it.
All you have to do is light a candle.
That's how simple it is to just bring another little simple joy in your life.
Another thing is spending time on skincare and self-care.
I think self-care and skincare is just so important because,
it allows us to not be on our phone and just to take time for ourselves. So I think that's one of my
favorite things that is so simple yet such a big impact on my life. Lastly, I would say ending the
night with some nice warm tea. I think tea is so simple yet so nice and relaxing. It can really
just end your night on a positive note. So I just love drinking tea in bed right before I go to bed
to just calm my mind. And that's something that brings me just so much joy.
Some other little things that you can do any time throughout the day or the week that is simple little joys that leave such a big impact on your life is asking someone how their day was.
I always like to be mindful of others and ask how someone's day was.
So that's one.
Another thing you could do is post a picture from your day.
Start posting.
Don't care about what other people think.
Literally posts the photo now today.
Do not wait.
So that's another thing you can do.
journal gratitude, whether it's in the morning, night, or the evening, I just love journaling
a little gratitude. Another thing is making a vision board so simple, but leaves such a big impact.
Think of the impact that vision boards do. Every year, I make a vision board and 99% of the
things I list on my vision board, I accomplish. That is such a simple thing you can do that makes such a
big difference. Another thing, which sounds really weird, but I promise it will literally improve your
moved so much, but smile for no reason. Just do a little smile. No reason. No one has to be there.
Just smile. And it can literally just put you in a better mood. And another thing is just going
outside, whether that's going to pick flowers, going outside to go by the pool, or just taking a walk,
all of those little things are so simple, but can bring so much joy. The minute you start incorporating
and acknowledging simple joys in your life, you will 100% become a more positive person. We forget
that some of the most simple joys are literally free of expense.
They don't cost anything and you can do right now, right then.
And those simple joys can bring us more joy than something that even cost money.
Honestly, the amount of joy it gives is priceless.
You need to stop overstressing about that test that's a month from now.
A quote that is so important to me that I always think about and live by is don't forget to
stop and smell the roses.
I love it because it just is saying to be mindful and to stop and don't
think about other things and really just appreciate the small simple joys in life.
So I just think that is just so important to remember.
