Starting point is 00:00:10 Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. I am so excited for today's episode, but without further ado, let's get straight into our weekly review. So this week, I have just really been trying to touch base and reflect with my emotions and goals. You're halfway through the year, and I found it really nice to just reflect on what I want, what is my needs, and what feels good to me. It's been really nice to just reflect. And another thing this week is I've, I've been looking through my closet, looking through my entire place with my mom, just trying to get rid of things because I literally had a thrifting addiction a few years back and I've kept so much clothes and I feel like I'm trying to live a more simple, calm life. Too much clutter in my space and I'm just ready to live a simple, minimal lifestyle. So I'm just really trying to get rid of all the extra clothes I have that I don't necessarily need. Another thing this week is I've been trying to prioritize time with my family, which has been so nice and so needed. I feel like even though my family doesn't live too far from me, a few hours away can be kind of hard because they're my life. And it's been so nice to just stay with my family this month. And my mom has visited me a lot and I've been going back home and I'm finally now feeling recharge and ready just to take on my task again.
Starting point is 00:01:34 but nothing is worse than the weather this past week, which is such June gloom. It's literally so cold, so ugly out, and finally, the sun has come out for a little bit. Fingers crossed, it stays this way because the sun is truly so much happiness to me. Moving on to my current obsessions. My current obsession right now is my new thrifted pieces. Yes, as I said, I was addicted to thrifting, and I feel like when I go thrifting now, I really try to think, what do I need? And is it like a necessity rather than just getting it because it's cute because I would always think,
Starting point is 00:02:09 oh, I'm going to get this because this is just so cute, but I probably won't wear it. But now I'm trying to get things I actually want to wear and just not want to save. My main style at the moment, since my style is always changing. But my main style right now is very classy, Sophie Ritchie, kind of like staple pieces that are just really pretty and can make an outfit. it be both simple, but so classy and chic, and I don't know, I just love it. Another current obsession is my Starbucks drink at the moment. I am always saying how I don't like getting drinks out, especially at Starbucks and chains, and I like to do more cafes.
Starting point is 00:02:45 But I am not going to lie, I have been loving my Starbucks drink lately, which is a classic decaf Americano grande and a vente cup with extra ice. And then I get 0.5, so a half pump of peppermint. and let me tell you, it is so divine, and then I add in just a little sweet cream to make it sweeter, but it is seriously the best if you like it not too sweet and just like a little minty drink. I seriously just love it. Another current obsession right now is they really just reflect on my emotions and my needs. As I said, I've been doing that lately and I found it to be so helpful and really pinpoint,
Starting point is 00:03:20 what am I needing and lacking because I will find myself getting down because of something? And then I'm like, wait, okay, this is fixable. How can I fix this? So I've been really trying to be talking with my mom about it to see how I can achieve something that I'm wanting to achieve or achieve a goal I'm wanting to do or just have my daily routines be better. So I just really think reflecting can be so important. Another current obsession is fresh produce. I mean, this is always an obsession for me. But I just have been craving like plain lettuce with lemon and texion.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Like very basic and plain, but like, I have a little side salad midway through the day for a little snack. I'll just literally chop up lettuce, add some lemon over it, and then some tomatoes. And I don't know why. It just tastes so fresh and so amazing. I always find it so interesting hearing what your body craves. And I just know when I'm craving protein or craving produce. And right now I'm craving a period. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I have missed my period for many months now, and this has been hard for me and something I'm trying to figure out reasons why I need to go get my vitamins tested and everything. It's gone too long. So that's something that I'm going to bring you guys along my journey with. If anyone else is struggling with this, you are not alone. I feel the same way, and I promise you there are answers. So I really just want to try to figure out the root cause of what could be making this happen and try to get answers. so I can be healthy and happy. Moving on to my goal of the week. My goal of the week is the draft plan this upcoming few months and year regarding my clothing line, my daily life, everything. And I just really want to have my goals set,
Starting point is 00:05:06 intentions planned, and just feeling ready for the new upcoming months and year. So I just really want to just draft a little plan out to see how I could work towards those goals and better become the version of myself I want to be. So I'm very excited to start doing that, as well as figure out a juicing,
Starting point is 00:05:23 schedule for every week because I absolutely love juicing and celery juice truly just makes a difference in my skin better than any skin care. I have to say my skin will become so clear when I have celery juice. So I want to start juicing more often so that I have celery juice all stocked up for me in the fridge. And lastly, my goal of the week is to have more calmness and have peace as the center of my life. I feel like I have been living a hectic lifestyle the past few months just with too much clutter and I feel like I just want to really just relax and enjoy my time in life, in my daily life and just be more organized and have more structure. So I'm really excited to start this journey of trying to just bring more peace into my life and really, really trying
Starting point is 00:06:08 to prioritize balancing my cortisol levels. Moving on to an affirmation of the week. I'm exactly where I need to be at this moment. I love this affirmation so much because we are truly exactly where we need to be. We don't need to be ahead. We don't need to be behind. We're exactly where we need to be. So I really hope you think about that. Moving on to a self-love question to ask yourself. How do I incorporate peace within me? I love that question so much because I am asking myself this question this week as well. It is so important to incorporate peace into your life. So I just love that. Moving on to a challenge for you this week. Look back at your New Year's goals and resolutions and acknowledge all you've achieved. as well as plan to begin to schedule out time more towards the goals that you're wanting to achieve.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Moving on to a podcast review, and this review is from Peyton Wilson. Peyton said, this podcast has really changed my mindset, and you were so pretty. I feel like I have changed so much, and I feel so much better about myself. Peyton, I am so proud of you, and I really am so glad that you love the podcast, and I truly do appreciate your such kind words, and if you guys want to be featured on next week's episode, feel free to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts. Without further ado, let's get into today's episode. Today's episode is on summer body confidence and we're going to be talking about health,
Starting point is 00:07:34 ozempic, and anti-dieting. So summer is just around the corner, as you guys know, and everyone is talking about just getting on their summer bodies, you know, you'll be hearing about dieting, getting in shape. Everyone just wants to work on themselves right now in order to feel their best during summer. which is great, but also things can be taken way too far. It's one thing to be good and confident and feeling happy about yourself, but it's another thing to tear down your health in order to look a certain way during summer.
Starting point is 00:08:04 There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve your confidence, especially during summer because everyone wants to wear the cute bathing suits and just lay out in the sun and feel cute and pretty, and there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve your confidence. and most often confidence stems from how we view our bodies. And feeling confident with our figure is beautiful. We should all feel confident in our figure, how we look on the outside. Although something unfortunate is that many of us struggle with confidence issues
Starting point is 00:08:35 due to society's standards and how we feel we should look. Society paints a really unrealistic way of what a summer body should look like and what people want as their goals when really we are all done. different and we all have our own stories and the girl's body that you want on social media may be struggling so hard with an eating disorder you don't know and you can't compare yourself to someone else you're probably scrolling on tic-tok or social media and all you're saying is people talking about summer bodies or there's ads trying to sell you something in order to have a summer body but you really need to stop and think of this what is the difference between your body now and your quote summer
Starting point is 00:09:17 body. All you're doing is slapping a name of a season in front of the word body. It's like you're saying fall body, spring body, winter body. There is no difference of a summer body than just your body. In order for you to have a quote summer body, that does not mean you need to lose weight, workout seven days a week, begin diet, especially the ones that are not sustainable. You can't use a quick-fix diet to help boost your confidence. Everything stems from your confidence. No matter what your body looks like, you have a summer body and you have to realize that. This summer, you need to start choosing health and start eating healthy and doing healthy routines for your health and for your insides rather than just doing everything to look good on the outside. Maybe you want to start
Starting point is 00:10:11 eating healthier. So you practice doing 80-20, 80% of the time, eating full nutritious meals and food, and then 20% of the time, eating foods regardless of the nutrition, and that actually just feed your soul. If that is sustainable and realistic for you and makes you feel good and allows you to eat healthy, both not feeling restrictive, then do that. You may be wanting to feel good in the summer. And let me just tell you, having a very unrealistic diet that's making you so tired and feeling awful is not going to help your confidence. Dieting and not eating enough and barely getting by will not help you feel better about your body in the summer. If you truly want to feel good in life and feel good about yourself in the summer, then you need to be able to function. And with a very
Starting point is 00:10:59 hardcore, unrealistic diet is not going to allow you to function properly. Confidence all comes from within and you need to do things because you love yourself. I'm always preaching this, But it's so true, you have to do things because you love yourself and not doing things out of hate for yourself. As you guys know, I always have my drink of the day. And with me right now is my chocolate electrolyte drink mix from Element. It's seriously my favorite. It tastes like a hot sea salt chocolate. What I love about Element, it has no sugar, no coloring, no artificial ingredients, no gluten, no fillers, nothing bad for you.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Seriously, everyone can use Element. I personally love to drink it throughout the day to just make sure I'm getting enough electrolytes, as well as after a sauna or a big workout, I always love to have Element. Maybe you had an intense workout or you're an athlete, then Element is perfect for you. It's the best way to upgrade your wellness routine so easily. Just mix this flavorful electrolyte drink mix into your water bottle and you're good to go. They also have a new flavor called grapefruit salt, which is so amazing as well. Electrolate deficiency is very common and I found myself getting lots of headaches and fatigue,
Starting point is 00:12:03 so I decide to incorporate Element, which has been such a help. If you'd like to get a free sample pack with any order, head to the link in my show notes. Again, you will get a free sample pack with any purchase using the link in my show notes. That being said, I do want to be realistic with you guys because I know what it feels like to not be confident and to feel insecure about your body. And let me just tell you that I promise you, I'm just not going to cover it up and say, love yourself, your beautiful, end of story, and leave you there. Because you can still feel insecure at the end of the day.
Starting point is 00:12:36 you may still love yourself, but you're like, well, I would like to look a little better or improve something about myself for the summer to make me feel good. The last thing I want to do, it just put a band-aid on your feelings, but for you to understand that in order for you to really feel confident in yourself, it comes from within and not what comes on the outside. Although there are things you can do on the outside while sustainably taking care of yourself and not doing a hardcore diet or ozambic or making yourself feel out. absolutely awful to look good on the outside. There is no doubt how we look on the outside can affect how we feel on the inside. And as long as you have confidence and love for yourself, regardless of what you look like on the outside, I feel there's no harm in wanting to improve some things about yourself or trying to improve your confidence. But what I'm wanting you to understand is that those steps and actions you can take to improve your confidence and improve things about
Starting point is 00:13:33 yourself or maybe your appearance should be approached in an appropriate manner and doing things out of love for yourself and not out of hate being harsh to your body being harsh to your mindset and doing things out of love maybe this summer you want to become a little more toned to feel a little more confident in your bathing suit you can start by incorporating 20 minutes of a workout don't push yourself to go to the gym for two hours a day and you feel absolutely torn down and awful and you can't function because that's not sustainable and at the end of of the day, your end goal is to feel good about yourself and you're not going to feel good about yourself if you're making your mindset completely drained and your body completely drained by just
Starting point is 00:14:12 trying to look good on the outside. You have to be gentle and calm with yourself in order to achieve what you're wanting. Maybe you want some clear skin. So you try buying some new products to try out because they may help your skin out. Don't try to go spend thousands on a facial if you have no money. Given, there is no shame to anyone who chooses to approach their lack of confidence with a different manner such as dieting or intense gym days. But this is for you to have approval in your mind that you don't have to do a $2,000 facial to have clear skin or workout at the gym multiple hours a day every single day in wearing yourself down to have a toned body or taking diet pills to lose weight. You don't have to do what your friends are doing to have
Starting point is 00:15:01 a quote summary body or the celebrities you're watching doing to have a summer body. We are just all trying to feel good about ourselves and there is nothing wrong with wanting to feel good about ourselves. But you can do it and approach that in a proper manner that loves your body and loves your mind at the same time without wearing you down. I know you've heard of look your best, feel your best, but I promise you when you take time into your self-care and actually doing things for you and your mind, body, and soul, I promise you all that inner work that you're doing will portray outwards and it will be feel your best, look your best. How you cater to your needs inside and love yourself inside will automatically project outwards and I promise you,
Starting point is 00:15:44 you will become and have that confidence that you've been looking for. I'm sure you all have heard of Ozambic and it's high demand right now, especially in LA and big cities at the moment. This is not meaning for those who take it for actual health reasons, but lots of celebrities and people are taking it to lose weight. And I am not shaming anyone who does whatsoever. There is nothing wrong with doing something to your own body that you choose to do. If it feels right to you and you know deep down it's right, then by all means do it. but I'm trying to let you know you do not have to do that in order to have your dream body or to look the way that you want to look.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Again, no shame to anyone who does do OZepic or who does have dieting pills. But you need to remember that what someone else does, you have no obligation for you to do the same, nor does their experience work the same as what's going to happen for you. And let's say they get their end result. You may think, oh, they probably are feeling so great now and they're so confident. they could be feeling 10 times worse than they were before. How you look on the outside has nothing to do with how you feel on the inside. You can buy ozempic, you can buy dieting pills, you can buy weight loss supplements, but you
Starting point is 00:16:57 cannot buy confidence. Wellness is more than just nutrition and exercise. It's physical, mental, and emotional. So sleep, stress management, and mindfulness are all important aspects of wellness. If you want to get the next level of wellness, CBD can help. But your average CBD oil just will not go. cut it. Starting point is 00:17:52 Go to nextevo.com slash pretty to get 20% off your first order of $40 or more. That's 20% off $40 or more at N-E-X-T-E-O.com slash pretty. Work on the priceless thing within you, which is your confidence. Work on your health. Work on having a positive mindset. All of that will begin to portray outwards. You have to do everything out of love for yourself rather than hate.
Starting point is 00:18:18 You will be so surprised at the result of confidence you will have when you approach those issues with an appropriate health-driven matter, trying to think how can I better myself to feel my best inside and for it to project outwards rather than how can I wear myself out and beat myself up until I look that way. I know it's cliche, but remember, you are perfect just the way you are and you don't need a number on a scale to determine your happiness. or you don't need the number size of your clothing to tell you if you're too big or too small. Be kind to yourself.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Do things out of love for yourself and not hate. Work out because you value your health and maybe you want to improve your toneness. That's okay. You can do things to work on your body to improve the way you want to look, but don't take it to the extreme next level where you are feeling ultimately worn out and bad. Your goal is to feel good at the end of the day. So why would something make you feel good when you're trying to push yourself over the top in order to look a certain way? That's not doing things out of love.
Starting point is 00:19:20 That's doing things out of hate and making you feel exhausted. So as summer is just around the corner, I want you to stop and realize that you are truly just where you need to be. And think about this. You live one life. You are going to be so sad if you didn't go to the beach with your friends. You're going to be so sad if you didn't just wear that bathing suit. You're going to be sad if you don't do those things. So work on your confidence, work within, cater to yourself, and it will project outwards.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Give yourself the love you deserve and the love you need. And I promise you, it will allow yourself to project that confidence outwards and you will feel good about yourself. There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve your confidence and improve how you look. But do it in an appropriate manner that is out of a loving way rather than a harsh, hateful way that ultimately just takes away all your confidence. I love you guys so much and I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. I love talking about these topics and just thinking how you guys are able to improve the way you think and ultimately becoming the best version of you.
