my loves welcome back to the busy yet pretty podcast i'm your host jane haley if you are new here welcome to the show
we talk all about wellness self-care how to love yourself routines honestly everything and most
importantly becoming the best version of you i am beyond excited for today's episode because we're
talking about something that is very highly requested and also a topic that i am very excited to talk about
I've tried to push this topic off as long as I could to closest to summer because we're talking about summer, but I could have helped it anymore.
It's almost the summertime.
Everyone's almost out of school and we're all looking to glow up before the summer.
So without further ado, let's get into today's weekly review.
This week, I've been getting back on track and oh my goodness, it feels so good to be organized.
Like, I had a full reset and I'm just feeling so good, so motivated and very excited.
Another thing this week is I've been going to home goods a lot and just shopping.
I've got a new home decor and adding new items to your space can do such a positive and make you feel so good and just refreshed.
And another thing this week is I've been starting new routines and I'm really excited we're going to do episodes in the near future of summer routines.
And lastly, I have just been prioritizing my happiness.
It is so important to prioritize your happiness because at the end of the day,
you are here to live your life and living your life doesn't mean necessarily getting straight
A's on all your homework or getting the best job in the business. Your life is to live happy and
die happy. So I'm trying to just really prioritize happiness. Now on to the current obsessions.
My current obsession at the moment is home decor shopping. As I said, I'm just in a little home decor
kick. I feel like I'm trying to add more color to my space and add some, I don't know,
liveliness to my space. When you're in a high rise, it comes modern when you walk in. It is
white and don't get me wrong. I love a clean slate, but for two years now, I haven't decorated
my space very much, so I'm getting into that and it's feeling so much more complete.
Another current obsession at the moment is vanilla lattes. I've been loving just adding vanilla bean powder into my lattes and also adding agave and date sugar. It truly just makes the perfect sweet latte taste.
And another current obsession at the moment is to consistently post over all forms of social media, but specifically posts more over YouTube. I'm getting back into YouTube and I'm very excited. I've already posted a new YouTube video and I'm very excited. I've already posted a new YouTube video and I'm
I just filmed a full productive day in my life, which will also be uploading pretty soon.

Now on to the goal of the week.
My goal of the week at the moment is to eat more protein.
The more protein I eat, the more awake I feel.
I just feel energized, motivated.
So consistently eating more protein.
Another goal of the week is to literally tame myself to not watch so much to you.
at once. I swear I will turn on the TV then all of a sudden it's on for hours at a time.
I've been in love with sex in the city. I just started watching it a few days ago and I'm
already on season five. How did I watch that so quick? Another goal of the week right now is to
continue waking up earlier to have more early mornings. I feel like I'm just so productive in the
mornings but I'm also really trying to pull myself out of being productive in the mornings
but do something productive for my personal life and my happiness, like just journal and not necessarily
get straight into work. And my last goal of the week right now is to incorporate more breathwork
into my breaks throughout the day. I feel like it's very important to take breaks throughout working,
and in those breaks, I really just want to practice breathwork because it's super helpful for your
mental health and to prevent burnout. Now moving on to affirmations. What is meant to happen
will happen and the right things will always find me. I love that affirmation so much and I really
recommend affirming that to yourself. Now on to a self-love question, how am I going to become a better
me this summer? I love this question so much because it's on topic for today's episode and we're all
looking to how we can better ourselves so I really recommend journaling that question and your challenge
of the week is take breaks between working and take a moment to breathe to prevent burnout. I know we just kind
I talked about that, but that's something that I've been absolutely loving, and I really want you to try doing that too.

today's episode. It is time for you to glow up for the summer. Right now, today. You are going to
glow up for the summer. We are ditching our slump and becoming hotter, happier, happier.
No more feeling gross, sluggish, and it's time for you to actually get up, feel confident and
sexy, become healthier in your mind, body, and soul, and to get yourself excited for the summer.
We have no time to waste, so let's just dive right in. Starting off with consumption, what you consume
will always reflect onto you. Going back to the previous episode, I talked about friendships,
and if you hang out with five smokers, you'll become the six. If you hang out with five successful
people, you'll become the six. That's just a quote to show an example of what you consume and what you're
around is what you will become and reflect onto you. So you need a consumption refresh. Some things I call
temporary happiness of consumption and that goes to show for me personally crime shows. I absolutely
love and can binge watch crime shows but after I watch them for a while I feel just so down and I feel
sad for the victims and I just get on this down state of mind and as much as I loved it during that
moment watching it. I'm not loving the after effects. So we tend to see that trend a lot in our life,
whether that's scrolling on TikTok for too long, just consuming a ton of pointless videos and then
feeling sluggish afterwards or consuming too many cookies and then feeling gross afterwards.
It's temporary happiness that leads to negative results. And don't get me wrong, it's all about
balance. But the majority of our life, we want to feel good, great, and happy and not just fall into
temporary happiness. We want longevity happiness. So when it goes to consumption, what you consume
will reflect onto you. So begin unfollowing people. I want you right now today to go on a mass
unfollowing rampage and follow people who do not leave you with a good positive feeling after
seeing their stuff. You don't owe anyone a follow. If you're not feeling good while following them,
then unfollow them. It does not matter. You do not have to follow them. That goes for people at your
that goes for people you work with, that goes for creators.
Any accounts that doesn't leave you feeling positive after saying their posts do not need to be followed.
I also want you to delete apps that you don't actually need.
Clean out your camera roll and truly have a phone refresh.
Sometimes we can just have too much clutter in our phone, our text messages, our camera rule.
And getting rid of a lot of those things can allow new memories to flow in, new people, new text,
and new apps that actually serve you.
So once you have that in-depth phone refresh,
I want you to change your wallpaper.
To me, changing my wallpaper after doing a phone refresh
is just the little reward.
It's like the cherry on top.
And I promise you, having a phone clean out
and then changing your wallpaper
can feel so rewarding.
I honestly just feel like a new person.
Now let's talk about cleaning out your space.
You may be thinking,
Jaden, I thought we're talking about glowing up.
Babe, glow-ups happen in all different shapes and form, okay?
That's with your space, your environment, how you look, your appearance, what you eat, your wellness
routine, everything.
We're going to cover it all, but I'm first starting with your environment and what you consume
because honestly, it all starts there.
If you want to change your appearance and glow up and you want to change your happiness
and become happier, you need to first begin with changing your environment.
to have a good environment is setting you up for success and other things.
So back to what I was saying, it's time for you to clean out your room.
Clean out your space, clean out your closet, your entire home, your cupboards, whatever you own of your space, I want you to have a deep clean.
Personally, I find cleaning out my fridge and my pantry feels so rewarding.
And that is also the perfect way to just get rid of expired foods and things that you don't really like or need.
and then you can stock up on new foods and new home decor once you have that deep clean.
Get inside your closet, get inside your bathroom, and get rid of the things that don't serve you anymore.
I know I'm one to talk. I literally have a pile of clothes.
I'm trying to save that is on my floor right now.
So do not worry, you are not alone, but really try to be mindful of what you have.
And if you don't need it anymore, let it go.
Also, I know we're all guilty of having water cups.
and trash and, you know, food wrappers in our room.
So let's just clean that out, put on fresh sheets,
have that deep clean, go take your everything shower
and I promise you, you are going to feel so good.
So much of us hold back from putting time
into moving forward and becoming the best version of ourselves
because we have this weight of the past on us.
And that weight could be things that are just clouding our minds,
such as our messy desk, our messy room,
or our messy closet.
Tell me right now that your messy desk, closet, room, house, fridge, whatever it is, makes you feel at peace.
Tell me right now. You can't because nobody feels good with a messy space.
Getting rid of things that you don't need can feel so good and a true weight off your chest.
So then it feels easy to want to move on and work on other things to becoming the best version of you.
Once you do that, reward yourself by taking yourself to home goods at T.J. Max or any of your
your favorite home decor places and go home decor shopping for the summer. There's so much
gorgeous summer decor out there so go treat yourself, you deserve it. And it'll be perfect for
the summertime. Okay, it's now time to talk about how you can glow up your appearance.
Because I'm going to be realistic, we all want to have an appearance glow up. It's not just you,
we all do. My first and one of my most important tips, which you could think, what does this have
to do with appearance? But I promise you it does.
you need to see the light of day and go outside.
And you're thinking, okay, that literally has nothing to do with appearance.
It actually does because the more that we stay home and stay in
makes us feel confined and we just want to stay in, not leave,
and we literally become insecure.
We become too used to not getting dressed,
too used to not putting our hair up, doing our makeup,
or just getting ready for the day.
But by pushing yourself to go outside can make you feel more prepared.
you see other people and it motivates you to actually get up and start your day. You're not going to go hide away this summer because you're insecure of what you look like or not go to the beach because you don't like what you look like in a bathing suit. You're hot, you're sexy, end of story. But again, let's be realistic and actually talk about ways that you can set yourself up for success when it comes to how you look and how to feel hot. Number one, get up in the morning and actually get ready. As I was saying, you have to go out to,
kind of motivate yourself to get ready, but even if you're not leaving during the day and you're
planning to stay home, still get up and get dressed, get your hair done and get ready. Start getting into
this habit, especially knowing that you may not be going to school this summer or working this summer.
So you need to get into this routine habit of getting up and getting dressed still. Because if you stay
home and hibernate all summer, you're going to have a horrible summer and wish you could have gone back.
Another thing for you to glow up this summer is getting your toes done.
I will get my toes done once, like every two months, and I swear the nail polish literally stays on for two months long.
But even if you don't have the money to go get your toes done, go do it yourself at home.
It takes a few minutes, and I promise you, it just makes you feel so complete and so clean, elegant, and classy.
Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but I feel like getting your toes done feels so much more complete than getting your nails done.
It's time to embrace that natural look during the summer.
So we're going to try to do as much as we can to naturally feel confident.
Of course, we love makeup and don't get me wrong.
I love a good summer makeup look.
I'm actually posting one on Friday over Reels,

But during the summer, I think it is so essential to really embrace your natural self.
So we need to find ways to glow up to look and feel beautiful naturally.
That leads me into saying,
eat healthy. Eating healthy and having a balanced diet is so necessary. This is not an episode to tell
you to get into shape or don't eat your favorite desserts and go live in the gym because that is
unsustainable and unhealthy. So my approach to this always for myself and what I tell others is balance
because it is time for you to be mindful. I don't want you to overthink things because that can
only lead you down an unhealthy spiral of, is this healthy or is this not healthy?
You just want to live, but of course live with balance.
So it's important for you to be mindful of what you consume and how you treat your mind, body, and soul.
And that goes for what you eat.
Eat what makes you happy, even if it's not the healthiest.
But of course, in moderation, and the majority of the time, eat what makes you feel good and alive.
Like I said, eat your desserts.
I eat desserts every single night.
I love a good snack time, but also be mindful of longevity and just not temporary happiness.
consume the majority of the time what's going to make you feel good long term.
The same goes for workouts.
I have such a hard time working out and I will make so many excuses just so I don't have to work out.
But even 10 minutes in my day will change my entire mindset, how I feel in the strength of my body.
You have to erase and get rid of the all or nothing mindset because that is going to do nothing good for you.
You have to remember that consistency over perfection is what will get you and lead you
to success into achieving your goals.
When you treat your body with love and feel yourself
with nutrients and movement,
you'll see how that reflects onto your appearance of your body.
Because even though, again, it doesn't feel like
we're talking about appearance here, we are.
What you eat and how you treat yourself
will reflect onto your appearance
and how you feel about yourself.
Personally, something that plays a huge role for me
whenever I need a good glow up is a tan.
I love to feel just glow-y
and sun-kissed, but of course you don't want to lay out in the pool every single day and out in the sun.
So if you need to, you can go get a tanning lotion or a little tanning moose.
And I feel like it just gives that extra healthy glow that you may be lacking.
And once you rinse that tan off, go take an everything shower.
I'm talking head to toe.
Do a hair mask, wash your hair, shave, do the whole routine that makes you feel your best.
Because sometimes we're in a slump and we don't even know it.
Like in a matter of days, we haven't taken an everything shower and we're like,
gosh, I feel so gross.
I feel so ugly.
I truly am in my flop era.
And I promise you,
sometimes all you need is a good tan everything shower and reboot.
Once you're done showering and doing a full entire everything shower,
it is time for you to put on a nice body oil.
Lather yourself in a good body oil that is hydrating,
full of vitamins and most importantly leaves you feeling nice and hydrated. I promise you routinely
using a good body oil or lotion will make your skin feel so hydrated and glowing naturally for the
summer. And with the summer just around the corner, it is so important for you to have bathing suits
and clothes that you feel good and confident in. It's so easy to want to just fit what fit you last year
and maybe you do fit the clothes that you fit last year. But sometimes we don't. And,
And it can feel so discouraging to be like, gosh, I don't fit it anymore, whether it's too big or too small.
It's essential you remember that you're not supposed to fit clothes.
Clothes are supposed to fit you.
Getting that new wardrobe and those new pieces that you feel confident in can change your mindset and just change your confidence so much.
Because who would feel confident in something that doesn't fit them?
And no, I don't want you to go cry in the dressing room.
Don't worry.
I've done it many times in my life.
life. I haven't for many years because something I learned that clicked in my head was you're not
supposed to fit clothes. Clothes are supposed to fit you. So find what works for you, what matches you,
what looks good on you, what color looks the best on you. And splurge, get those clothes. Maybe you don't
have money to go shopping. Sell some of your current clothes and maybe go on a thrifting website and buy
some new clothes for there or go thrifting out at your local thrift store that feels like the perfect
pieces for the summer. I'm a huge thrifter. I found all my favorite pieces at the thrift store,
so don't look past the thrift stores. They have amazing summer pieces. It's so important to have
the mindset that you deserve the best, where it is so important to treat yourself, whether that be
a foot soak, getting your nails done with the girls, having a spa day, a facial, anything to
actually make you feel good about yourself. And if you choose the top option for everything in life,

Another really great way for you to glow up for the summer is get your hair trimmed.
A little trim can feel so good on your hair and just make it feel so much more healthier, thicker, and nicer.
But let's say maybe you want more of a drastic change.
go get a full on haircut, go get bangs, darken or light in your hair, do it a color, do what makes you feel confident and excited to go out and feel confident and sexy in.
And if you're like, gosh, I want to do something with my hair, but I have no money to go get it done.
Babe, it's expensive to go get your hair done.
And I have been literally coloring my hair since high school, myself, I've done my blonde streaks myself, and my mom helps me do the darkening color of my hair.
hair to make it more dark brown. I promise you I literally use a $10 box from Walmart or just any
hair box from Amazon. Please take some time to go invest in your hair. Change it up. Make yourself
feel good and remember it doesn't have to cost a lot of money. It can cost literally under $10 for a
hair dye or maybe for you you just need to put a pair of scissors in front of your face and
cut some bangs. But of course do it with caution. Watch some videos on how
how to do it so you don't actually mess up your hair. But changes like that can make you feel
so good and confident and ready for the summer. If you're trying to improve the sculptingness
of your face, just having it more sculpt and lifted, I really, really recommend mouth taping. I mouth
tape every single night and my face had just been looking so much more sculpted and more defined.
I am in fact a mouth breather. It's so annoying. When I sleep, my mouth is opened and I'm just like,
I cannot. I simply cannot deal with that. So I got mouth tape and I also had noticed like I wanted my jaw to be a little more sculpted and since using mouth tape, my jaw has been so much more sculpted again and I have just such better rest and when you get good sleep, you feel much better throughout the day.
Something else that I think is so necessary for a glow up is hydrate your cuticles. Your cuticles may look so crusty and trust me, I've had very crusty cuticles.
before but I use nail oil and I have been for years now on both my nails and my toenails and
I promise you it just looks so much more hydrating and healthy on your nail area and that is
essential for a glow up right now go get a bonnet I promise you if you're someone with longer
hair or just too much hair or someone who breaks out often invest in a bonnet the one I got was
literally from TikTok shop I think I have it linked in my showcase over TikTok but you can get
them honestly anywhere from Amazon and it's helped my skin clear up so much and just not having my
hair touch my face and my skincare during the night is really important and you just wake up with
your hair looking so much more healthier. I know I have so many business listeners in here and I know
