Welcome back to the Busy at Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. So let's get into our
bullet points of the week. First, our weekly review. This past week I have been working on my college
application. It is all sent in and now we are just waiting for the acceptance letter. This week,
I also cooked dinner with Ryan, been trying to figure out new recipes. My favorite of all time is
this one salmon air fryer recipe and i've made it so many times but we made that the other day and it was
amazing this was probably the most important and best thing of the week but it was me being released
for my eating disorder appointments which i am so happy i will get into it in future episodes but
for a brief summary the past two years i have struggled with anorexia i have been recovered for
almost a year now, but I have still had to go to appointments to like check up and um and weight
restoration. But now we are good and I was released and is my last appointment. I was so happy and
I feel like I've come such a long way. So that is definitely one of the best things that has
happened this week. Moving on to my current obsessions. One of my current obsessions right now is
the Chanel Dior model off duty look. I love it.
Tying into the Victoria's Secret 2013 era.
I am in my 2013 Victoria's Secret era.
Nobody can tell me otherwise.
They used to have the fashion show and it was my favorite thing.
I loved it.
Another thing I have been currently obsessed with is creating TikToks again.
I have been off my TikTok grind for quite a while, but now I am on it and I'm enjoying it,
which is one of the first.
I used to feel like it was like a chore,
but I have been loving, creating, and posting TikToks.
And that just shows when it's like forced content,
when I wasn't enjoying it a few months ago,
my content wasn't even doing good.
But now I'm just doing it for fun and like the most I've been getting like consistent views
and like an audience.
So I'm so happy been enjoying TikTok.
I am happy that I'm on a good side of TikTok and healthy mindset,
manifestation, Sunday reset, all of that.
So I am very, very happy with what I've been posting.
Another thing I'm obsessed with is the Benefit 24-hour brow setter.
I absolutely love it.
I use it every day no matter I'm doing a full makeup look or no makeup at all.
That is the one makeup product I will use every day.
It gives me such a clean look.
And if you use the glow recipe, like tightening serum with the glow brow gel,
you will be serving the glovious look.
And I'm telling you, I posted a TikTok about it.
it's like the no makeup actually no makeup look and I love it lastly I've been really obsessed
with Sunday resets every day I tidy up my room and I think it's a really good habit to
implement into your life but I've been doing big Sunday resets and seriously I love it
I love doing a new fresh Sunday reset to start the week off right whether that means
doing laundry or putting clean sheets on I just love it and it makes me feel so ready
for the week.
For my goal of the week, one is to learn new healthy recipes.
I am very obsessed with looking on Pinterest, and Pinterest has so many good recipes.
That is where I found my salmon air fryer recipe that I make all the time.
But I would love to know some other ones, so I'm just not eating salmon every night.
I would love to know them, and I also want to learn them so I don't have to look back at a recipe.
I just think having knowledge of knowing recipes in your head is really cool.
and I love to do that.
Okay, another thing is to only get decaf coffee or matcha.
I know matcha has a high caffeine level,
but if you look into it, your body reacts differently to matcha.
Macha's caffeine than it does to coffee.
I think it's because it's more natural.
I really feel sad and shaky and crash so hard when I have coffee.
I just can't do the cold bruise anymore.
I love them.
Starbucks, I love your cold bruise with cold foam,
but I can't literally my body,
Guys, I cannot have caffeine.
So I'm going to just get decaf or a matron from now on.
Another goal is to listen to more strictly manifestation podcast and YouTube videos.
Don't get me wrong.
I love listening to my podcast girls.
They give me such happiness, wellness girls, fashion girls.
I love it all.
But I started off my wellness journey really listening to doctors talk about the brain
and how wellness implemented into your life.
so I really want to get back into listening to real doctors talk about wellness and having a good mindset.
I also want to start posting more TikToks.
Like I said, I have been on the TikTok grind, but I want to be more consistent on it.
And lastly, I really want to learn how to do the oliplex bun.
I really do want to have an oliplex bun while I do my work.
So that is a goal.
And I have the really fine brush, so it gets all your hair really slick back.
So if you see it on my story this week, I learned. Be proud.
Next, a quote from my five-minute journal.
You and only you are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are.
I love that quote. It is so good and so true. It's you at the end of the day.
Do what makes you happy and don't care about what others think. It's you. It's you when you're hot and you're sexy.
Okay, a self-love question to ask yourself. What title would I give this chapter of my self-love journey?
feel free to pause this episode and go journal this question.
Okay, also, I am PMSing so hard right now.
I swear, my emotions are insane.
Like, this morning, I was crying for no reason.
Like, I felt like the end of the world.
And then all of a sudden, like, an hour later, I was like, oh my gosh, like, I'm going to be the most successful businesswoman in the world.
I would like some scientific evidence why this happens because I don't get it.
I do not understand.
And then I realized it's a week until my period, so that makes sense.
Today's episode is on the 80-20 principle.
The 80-20 rule can be incorporated into any part of your lifestyle regarding food, wellness, work, school.
I live by the 80-20 rule and honestly, it has changed my life.
It makes you so much more productive and so much more happier and just a very good mindset
regarding lifestyle, work, school, food, whatever you do.
So, for reference, it's 80 slash 20.
I'm someone who works very hard and loves to feel productive.
I always have something to do, but sometimes I take on too much work at once,
and then I'm like, I can't do this right now.
Like, I just burn out.
The 80-20 rule has helped me so much with work, but is the 80-20 rule?
To explain what the 80-20 rule is, 80% of your outcomes or outputs
result from 20% of all causes or inputs for any given event. So example, 80% of the time you are going
to live a healthy lifestyle of saving money at home by cooking your own food. 20% of the time you go eat
out, go hang out with friends, 100% of the time you can't be cooking at home. You have to have some
balance. So 20% of the time you go out and have fun. That 20% keeps your 80% going. If you were to do something
100% it's going to cause burnout. So 80-20 is basically the definition of balance. I used to work the moment
I got up to night every single day on work. That was 100% of my time and it totally burnt me out and I was
like, I don't want to do this anymore. So now for my daily routine, 80% of the day I'm working hard
and then 20% I'm going to go take a break, go look on Pinterest, go to get some coffee. That little 20%
of input helps the output of the 80% so much and basically it's a little like motivation.
After implementing the 80-20 role into your life, you will see it causes you to do more
by doing less. So 80% of your outcome results from the 20% input that you give. If you are putting in
20% of your time to getting some breaks in, taking on coffee, to looking on your phone for a bit,
as someone who has recovered from an eating disorder, I do not measure out 80-20 for the food
I eat. When I say healthy, I'm not saying just eat salads. I'm saying healthy whole foods. And then 20%
of the time I'm eating out or eating something, which eating out is great. But the 20% of the time I'm
just eating whatever I want, you know? You don't have to measure out 80-20, but it's to be mindful.
I am also a perfectionist. So I used to get ready every single day wearing a full-fitted
Instagram-worthy outfit. Now, when I'm at home, 80% of the time, I'm wearing what I call
the uniform. It's my Victoria Secret yoga pants and a little cute white top. I have multiple
pairs of these clothes because I wear them every day. They're comfortable. I get things done in them.
And then when I go out, I am all dressed up looking like I'm going to the Met Gala, okay?
Since I've kind of labeled my name as the person who always loves getting dressed up and clothes,
I help the need to always get ready and wear these Instagram worthy outfits every single day.
After just realizing, I, no one's seeing me, I can wear yoga pants,
pants and a white tank top every single day at home. And then when I go out, I can get dressed up.
That's fine. And I don't even have to get dressed up when I go up. But I'm saying, I love fashion.
That's a part of me. But I used to sometimes feel obligated to get dressed up sometimes. And I'm like,
I need to get work done today. I don't have to get ready right now. Who said, I have to go put on my
product heels right now? I'm at home. So 80% of the time, I'm wearing my Victoria Secret yoga
pants and white little tank top. Does that matter? No.
I actually love it. It's so comfortable and I look cute. So that's another way I've implemented the 80-20 rule into my life of being comfortable wearing clothes that suit what I'm doing for the day.
So the topic of going out and staying in. Often when people go out a ton, they tend to see that they're like, oh my gosh, I'm not caught up on what I have to do at home or if people say home too much, they'd get sick of being at home all the time. It's about balancing it out, staying home 80% of the time, going out 20% at the time.
Now regarding 80-20 in school and work, when I have any work or task that need to be done,
80% of the time, I work on the things that need to be done.
20% of the time I'm taking breaks.
Those breaks help me be motivated.
So that 20% is so valuable, stop causing burnout.
When burnout happens, you start to procrastinate.
The 20% inputs that you give into your time keeps the 80% more doable and tolerable.
A quote that I really like is the important thing of the 80-20 rule is 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
That means if you're going to do 10 tasks, two are going to be vastly more important than the others.
Again, as someone who has recovered from an eating disorder, I do not promote or believe in any sort of diet.
But in a general sense, why don't you think a lot of diets work?
Well, they go full force into the diet.
They're like, I'm going to drop all the quote unhealthy things that I'm eating.
and only eat salads.
You can't live your entire life 100% of the time eating totally healthy foods.
That's why a ton of diets fail because most of the people on this earth can't go their entire life just eating salads 100% of the time.
Which is why they quit their diet and say, whatever, not dieting anymore.
I'm done. I'm going back to normal.
There's so many unhealthy promoting diet culture.
It's so toxic to, especially a young audience, because they're not.
not realizing that it's not doable. And I mean, someone who's recovered from an eating disorder,
obviously you can't live your whole life eating salads or you're in the hospital. D diets end so
abrupt and fast because they go full force 100% and then, quote, causes burnout. And you can't
live your entire life like that. So for someone who wants to start eating healthier, then you go by
the 80-20 rule. So 80% of the time eat whole healthy, good amount foods. And then 20% of the time
eat any foods that you want. That 20% of input is so important and will keep that 80% going.
And that allows you to have a healthy balanced diet. As someone who craves nonstop productivity,
burnout happens so fast. You need to force yourself to set aside any work that you had that isn't
urgent. Restart, breathe. The 80 to 20 rule will cause you to live a happier and more balanced
lifestyle. You will be able to accomplish more by doing less. That 20% input that you provide for yourself
is going to help fuel for the 80%. Using the 80-20 rule in my life has allowed me to enjoy my job better,
food more, everything. Using the 80-20 rule, I'm not saying, do some work, look at your phone that's not
planned, like, plan out the time so you can really look forward to that time. I also used to do this
with working out. I love working out, and I work out a lot of the times in the mornings, and I had a
point where I was working out every single day because I was having fun, but then all of a sudden,
it just caused burnout and I didn't want to work out anymore.
So now I work out all weekdays in the morning for a little bit
and then on the weekends I take time off.
That gives nice balance and to refuel myself for the week.
What can this 20% input look like in the sense of time off for a break?
Take a self-care night.
Wash your hair, do a face mask, skin care.
When I work a lot throughout the day,
I prioritize a time at night where I can do my skincare,
hair, my hair, and pamper myself. It makes me feel so relaxed. I look so forward to that throughout the day.
Go lay down and eat some ice cream and watch a documentary. Pinchust in bed is obviously a personal
favorite for me and retail therapy, of course. Buy your favorite meal out. Go spend time with your
friends. All those things will work as motivation for the 80%. That 20% input that you're setting aside
is so valuable. To wrap up the 80-20, I just want to chat about this new year to you guys.
If you haven't implemented healthy habits into your life, it is not too late to start.
I'm going to tell you guys some of my personal favorite things I have been loving, which has made
my life very healthy and happy this new year. Something I really love, which I think this is how
you say it. It's the paper journal, and I love it so much. You can log your intention for the day
sleep, activity, self-care, meals, and water.
And I think it's so nice to do this in the morning, get a fresh, restart in your mind.
It allows you to just be mindful and look forward to the day.
Another thing is my five-minute journal by Intelligent Change.
There is an app for it on your phone that you can download for free.
I personally love the physical journal because I can look back at my past progress
and I just like writing it better.
You write what I'm grateful for, what would make today great,
daily affirmation, highlights of the day, and what did I learn today?
This helps practice mindfulness, and I just really love 5-minute journal.
Okay, another one is begin a new way of exercise, not to get skinny or not to look a certain
way, but do it for health and happiness.
Begin a new exercise to help boost your mood.
Working out for a little bit in the morning has made me feel so much more awake throughout the
day and also just makes me feel so happy and healthy.
exercise for your mind. Another thing is a ledger book. I just received it in the mail actually,
but what it is, it checks your income and expenses. I am not a big spender. I personally love to put
most of my money in my savings. It allows you to be really mindful of budgeting, and I really
love it, and they're on Amazon, and the one I got was $5. So go invest in one right now.
Next, invest in good hair and skincare products. Personally, skincare and hair care.
hair is so important to me. I just love using healthy, nice products for my skin and my hair.
And honestly, it feels so good at the end of the day when you use the products and right in the
morning and it starts your day off right and ends your day perfectly. I had some really good
recommendation on products for hair and skincare in episode two. So go check that out if you need
some recommendations. I also linked all those products over my modem as well. Another thing is
don't wait for the ultimate downfall or problem to happen to finally start living a happy and healthy
life. I heard this from doctors all the time on videos saying don't wait for that downfall to happen.
People wait for something really bad or bad problem to happen in their life to finally change their
life. Start changing your life now. It doesn't matter where you are. Start living a happy, healthy
lifestyle in your mind, in your heart, being grateful for what you have. Every day, add and subtract
things that will help improve your life. Delete some apps that you don't like that don't serve you
right. I know TikTok is a big thing. A lot of people don't like TikTok. So if you are not being served
right by TikTok, delete the app. Same with Instagram. Same with YouTube. Same with Snapchat. Same with
friends. Just drop people that you don't like it that aren't serving you well. I'm going to get into
this in a future episode, but take yourself on a date. I will record a full episode on this very soon.
I'm very passionate about this. I have always thought this was so smart. Take yourself on a date.
Someone else who also speaks a lot on this is Peyton Sarton. She has a very good podcast that I love.
Single or not, it makes you be able to think about things and enjoy your time with yourself,
and I just love it. I know you have to have a lot of confidence and courage to do it,
but I promise you once you do, you will feel so happy about yourself. Those were just some
personal tips that I want to give you guys that I felt could use as encouragement for this new year.
It's still January, it's not too late to start. Get into your happy, healthy routines. Change your
mindset, change your life. Start implementing happy and healthy habits into your lifestyle. Again,
use the 80-20 rule. It's going to help you be so much more productive and happy and satisfied
with work, school, job, food, whatever it is. Remember, 20% of your inputs is going to result
in 80% of your outputs. Ingrine this rule in your head and live by it. Thank you,
guys so much for listening. Feel free to check out my recent episode with my boyfriend. We talk
all things love and I think you guys will love it. I appreciate you guys more than anything.
Feel free to DM me on Instagram at Jaden Haley with two eyes at the end. What episodes you
would like to see in the future. I'll talk to you guys next Monday. Bye, Sexies.
