Hello, my love. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. I'm looking so forward to
to today's episode. It's going to be all about how you are the life of the party and how the life of the party looks different on everyone,
because society makes us feel like one way is the right way, and that is not the case. So we're going to talk about all that today,
but without further ado, let's get into our weekly review. This week, I have been really trying to prioritize my personal growth,
looking at what I really want and what I want the future year to look like.
And let me just say I'm so excited for what is all ahead of me.
And after hearing all your guys' success stories,
I am just so thrilled to hear that you guys have seen progress yourself.
And exciting things are definitely coming your way.
Another thing this week is I have been tapping into the spooky season.
It is a few days from Halloween.
So I'm going to have a little self-care spooky night
and decorate my little haunted house gingerbread.
Red House that it got from Trader Joe's.
And put on a fall movie and get cozy with the pumpkins spice latte.
Truly, nothing better than the holiday season.
And it also helps to have it being really foggy out lately.
Lately, the weather has just been so foggy and misty.
And honestly, I am so here for it.
It ruins your hair, but it also makes it feel nice and cozy.
Now into the corrupt session.
My current session at the moment is strawberry matcha.
I love strawberry matcha so, so much,
making it at home or getting it at a cafe, it just tastes so divine and so summary.
Another thing this week is that I am obsessed with is jelly cats.
Jelly cats are honestly the cutest thing ever.
I truly am just so obsessed.
If you don't know what jelly cats are, they are just overpriced of animals, but I will pay
the price because they are that cute.
Now moving on to the goal of the week.
My goal of the week is to bake some pumpkin bread or bake some nice cinnamon rolls.
I keep seeing so many people making cinnamon rolls and I truly
need to perfect a gluten-free cinnamon roll recipe. Another goal of the week right now is to just
stretch in the afternoon. Throughout working, it can just be so much tension in our neck and our
shoulders and just allowing us to stretch throughout the day, especially in the afternoon when
it's approaching the halfway mark of the day. It just is nice to get your body moving and to
stretch. My last goal of the week is to brainstorm some Christmas gifts. I really want to just get
all my Christmas shopping done early so I can just relax and enjoy the holiday season without
stressing. Although Christmas gifts never feel like a chore to me, I get so excited to just go buy
Christmas gifts for my parents and my grandma. It just makes me so excited. Now on to the self-love
question. How can you show up for yourself when you are in the dumps? I love that question so much
because it allows you to be mindful of how can you pull yourself out of a slump when you're not doing the best
and just having those tools on hand can be so helpful.
Also, if you cannot notice, I have a raspy voice right now.
The fall and winter weather is definitely getting to my allergies.
Now on to your affirmation, this is my life I'm living for.
I love that affirmation so much because it reminds you, this is your life.
Nobody is telling you what to do, and if they are, you don't have to listen to them,
do what makes you happy, and what's going to bring the life that you want.
Now and two, your challenge.
I encourage you to put yourself out of your comfort zone the next time you're in an uncomfortable
situation because putting yourself out of your comfort zone is going to make the next time easier.
Now on to the podcast review.
If you want to be featured on next week's episode, please feel free to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts.
This review is from Sky and Sky said,
Busy Yet Pretty has jumped started a total lifestyle change for me.
I started listening about a year ago and was immediately so intrigued that I started listening to
all the existing episodes within a few days. Before listening, I've never taken time for my fitness,
self-care, and overall wellness. Now, I'm so proud to say that I have a healthy workout schedule,
take daily hot girl walks, eat balanced meals, and even start in my own Reddit community called
Pink Pilates Princess to share my lifestyle with others. I know it sounds silly to say, but your
podcast has truly started at all. Thank you, Jaden, for the positive impact you've had on my life.
Sky, that was one of the sweetest reviews ever, and the first
The fact that you said that you made a little Reddit thread for Pink Pilates Princess just made my day and I'm truly so grateful for you.
You should be so proud of yourself.
Now without further ado, let's get into today's episode.
I just had a little coffee brunch date with my friend Raya and we talked all about what the life of the party looks like and it just totally inspired me to make this episode.
And I feel like this is so needed for everyone, especially today's day and age with societal standards.
and it's okay to be different.
The life of a party looks different on everyone.
And what I mean by that is how we show up in our life
and how we show up in situations looks different on everyone.
You may be the jokester,
or you may be the listener,
or you may be the therapist,
or you may be the organized one,
or you may be the reserved one.
What you bring to the table is perfect in your own way
and you should not feel like you have to replicate something that you're not.
Societal pressure is set heavy to be the outside,
going life of the party in situations and I am here to tell you that the life of the party looks
different on everyone. And I'm not necessarily talking about a actual party, but party referring to life.
In school or by our parents, we often hear you need to have the best grades to succeed and you
need to get into the best university. And when we are young, that's our inbred goal that we're
hearing since we're younger and it's pushed onto ourselves since you can even remember.
and maybe you're not passionate about something that your parents pushed on to you,
then something you should ask yourself is,
why is your goal your parents?
It's time you become your own advocate in what you want in life
and your own advocate on becoming and presenting yourself as the person you want to be.
I'm grateful that my parents allowed me to do whatever I desired,
show up whoever I truly am,
and do anything I wanted with school with no pressure,
and they had a lot of trust in me,
but that's not the case for a lot of parents.
And sometimes we don't realize that we're going to school
for something that we don't even have a desire for.
And the same goes for politics and religion.
We're born into a life where your environment
is gonna tell you what's right and wrong.
So when you're born and then you're beginning
to be taught at your most uneducated stage in your life
as a child, what you should believe in or what you should do
is an inbred thought and there's nothing wrong with that.
Many of us are taught certain political
or religion when we are younger and we carried that with us throughout our life because it truly
served as a piece and that's what we truly believe in.
I can't be the only one who has this like dream item of theirs that they always see whether
it's a bag, a sweater, a top and you're like, I just need that but it's like sold out everywhere.
That's me with this one vintage duny and brick bag.
I literally was looking everywhere for it and I somehow found one on a posh mark.
But not just one, I found multiple of them at such a good price.
And I was like, wait, this is just too good to be true.
So if you know me, you know I am a Poshmark girl.
Poshmark is a marketplace where you can list and sell, as well as buy.
New items, vintage pieces, gently used, luxury pieces.
They really just have it all.
And I feel like there's no better time to go on Poshmark now.
Everyone's cleaning out their closet and listing good things.
Get in bed, get cozy, and go on Pashmark to add to your new spring wardrobe.
New deals and sales are listed every day, so don't wait.
Download the Poshmark app and use code Vashmark.

And sometimes you're born into a life where you're taught certain things and you don't realize
until you get a little bit older where one day you think, is this even what I truly believe in or
is this even what I truly want in life?
And that really resonates with the book, The Four Agreements.
I love that book and I really, really recommend reading that book.
That and The Secret are my two favorite books.
They are truly the best.
But it just allows you to think,
are you making decisions and being the person you are
for yourself or for someone else.
But the point I'm trying to get at is
when you have stopped and created your own decisions
influenced by none other but yourself,
is when you're going to be the most happiest
version of you. You should never feel obligated to perform for others to make them proud or to perform
due to societal expectations. There should be no performing. Wherever you go on situations,
if you feel like you have to perform, then that's not the right friend group you should be hanging
around. You shouldn't feel like your shoulders are tense and you're scared of what you're going to say
you're walking on eggshells. You should feel relaxed and at ease and happy when the people you're
surrounded by. Start being your most authentic version of you. And if that means becoming a artist
when your parents want you to become a dentist, so be it. They're going to have to realize that.
That is not their life. If they want to become a dentist, they can, but you want to become an artist.
If your friends wish you were louder and made more jokes at parties and were more outgoing,
but truly deep down, you're more of a just reserved person, then those are not the right friends for you.
You need to stop feeling obligated and feeling like you're doing something wrong in situations.
You should feel praised and happy and just excited to be you without any fear of what someone else is going to think.
And if you're having those thoughts, then that is not the right party you should be in.
That party does not deserve you and it's time to go to a different party because what you bring to the party is perfect and there's no reason for you to change what you bring to the party.
Do you want to know what I bring to the party?
I'll tell you, I bring myself usually outgoing or reserved depending on the social situation and how I feel.
I never feel obligated to perform. I'm always relaxed and if someone's trying to make me feel obligated to be a certain way, then I'm leaving.
No one can ever make me feel uncomfortable. If someone tries to make me feel uncomfortable, I will hit the reverse Uno card back.
Don't let someone try to make you feel uncomfortable. You're only uncomfortable when you start giving that person and
upper power. So you are perfect. Whatever you bring to the party, if you are reserved or outgoing or
loud or have a funny laugh, whatever it is, don't change. Be yourself. And I know that is so cliche,
but I cannot stress this enough. You're not going to be happy in life if you constantly think that
you need to bring something to the table and bring something else to be the life of the party.
It's time you be unapologetically and authentically you. You will never get this time and life of
back so stop living life and taking the paths and making decisions for others.
That applies to everything in life for your career, your personality, your morals, and socially you.
You will not be the same as your friends or your parents or your boyfriend.
So stop trying to live up to this hope that they're going to be happy or being the person that they want you to be.
What you find fun and exciting may be the complete opposite than what your co-worker finds
fun and exciting. You may find self-care nights watching movies with a face mask on, eating
yummy desserts, and having an early night inside all cozyed up be your definition of the life
of the party. But your co-worker, for them, it may be going out all night, trying different
bars, meeting new people. That may be their perfect night. Regardless, fun looks different
on everyone and even if your interests are quote weird to other people, or if you're ever
feeling singled out for liking something else that no one else likes never feel guilty for that never
feel guilty for not liking the same things as the majority stand proud with what you like same goes for how
you show up to a social event personally i don't enjoy drinking when i go out i always opt for water
a good mocktail or a club soda but every single time i go out and someone sees me with a cup of water in my hand
when most every single other person is drinking.
Without doubt, every single time I will be hounded and questioned by some people around me saying,
why are you not drinking and go grab a drink and continuously trying to get me to drink with them?
And of course, people find it odd that I'm the only one usually not drinking when the majority of people there are drinking.
But just because their life of the party is a drink when they go out doesn't mean it has to be your life of the party.
There is no right or wrong to what someone's fun looks like.
We all have different preferences.
We all have different personalities.
We all have different morals and beliefs.
And that's what makes us all unique.
And that's what allows you to be drawn to similar people like you and different people.
So you just have to have an open mind and being open to being friends with them even though that's their lifestyle.
But when anyone questions your lifestyle or your choices or who you are as a person and is ultimately not open.
into your lifestyle, that is not your person. Because you should be standing proud by the person that you are
because this is your life and nobody else is. If you are the loudest in the room, don't stop because everyone else is
quiet. Continue to be you and you will attract the people who love you for you most. There's going to be so
many times in life where you feel uncomfortable because the majority is not on your side or you're not
doing what the majority is and that is the beauty of difference so it is okay to be different if you're
the only one in jeans and a t-shirt and everyone else has a dress on so what stand proud stand
confident and stay sexy and your jeans in a t-shirt think about this why live a life being
something that you're not when all it takes is a little courage and confidence to live life as you don't live
to please, be pleased to live. When you go on Pinterest or thinking of your favorite influencer or
celebrity, when you think of them, do you think they are hopping on the bandwagon of everything else
because they don't like who they are? Or do you think that the competent you girls seeing
walking down the street with high heels on, a cute dress, and a trench coat and sunglasses is
insecure because everyone else is wearing t-shirts and jeans? When you take a second to think
of that dream girl you would love to be.
I guarantee you she has the most important things she's carrying.
And that is confidence.
Confidence is key.
People are going to like you for you.
People are going to not like you for you.
Let that be.
The people who like you keep around,
the people who don't, let them go.
Do you think your favorite creator,
the girls on Pinterest,
or your favorite celebrity,
got to where they are in life
because they tried to be something else?
No, they got there because they were unauthentically
themselves. So it's time for you to start living that way, being unauthentically you,
enjoying life as you and not performing for others. I love you guys so much and I really hope you
enjoyed this episode. I know today was a little short, but I have had a crazy week and I'm so
