Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, my love. Welcome to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you're new here, welcome. I talk all about how to become the best version of you and just ultimately live your dream life, become her, become that girl and that person that you've always wanted to be,
Starting point is 00:00:25 and in general, just how to love you and have that confidence to love your life. I'm looking so forward to today's episode because these are one of my favorite types of motivational reset episodes. And while we're not necessarily, exactly mid-year point. We're a little past the mid-year point. It's basically still mid-year. So today's episode is going to be the perfect mid-year reset to locking in, having a new
Starting point is 00:00:51 mid-year reset routine, and ultimately just getting back on track with our goals and intentions that we set at the beginning of the year that we may have fallen off on, which is so normal. Like, if we look back at our revision board or what we put on our goal list for 2026, I would say a good 80% may have been accomplished. If so, if otherwise, great. And I am so proud of you. But I know many of us haven't achieved nearly as much as we wanted to. And it's okay because we can literally start today. We can do all the things that we want to do that we set at the beginning of the year for 2026. We are halfway through, but it can just start now. Stop thinking I'm going to start in 2027 and start thinking I'm going to start now today, not tomorrow, but today. So I'm very excited for today's
Starting point is 00:01:38 episode but first let's do our weekly review this week i had a little staycation with my mom i have been loving having staycations i feel like going to a cute little place not like far from you is so nice and just relaxing it's like you don't have to do the big travel hauling trying to go somewhere far you can literally just go somewhere that's near you and just to have a little staycation another thing this week is i've been leaning into the best version of me mindset i absolutely really just have been i would say the past like two, three weeks have been really leaning on to this like new version of me that I'm trying to create. And I'm picking parts from my past self that I love that I feel like I lost certain healthy habits. I'm re-picking those up, but also adapting new ones. So I'm not like
Starting point is 00:02:23 necessarily trying to get back to the old version of me, but trying to create a new version where it has some of the healthy habits for my past self and some new ones that I want. I'm going to do an episode on this soon because I'm on this journey myself. And, I know you guys are on as well or are wanting to get on that journey. So I'll have an episode on creating a new version of you soon. I kind of talked about this on last episode and I had a guest on that episode. So feel free to tune into that if you haven't already. And lastly this week, I have just been choosing to focus on the positive every single day.
Starting point is 00:02:58 It's really easy to fall into a negative mindset or complain. But really I'm just trying to lock in so much on that positive mindset and being intentional of what my actions are doing, making sure I'm putting it towards a purpose of positivity. Now on to the current obsessions of the week, my current obsession right now is watermelon with lime. I love nothing more than watermelon and lime together as a duo. It just is so good in summary. Another current obsession right now is weighted workouts. I have been working out a few times a week with weight, and it has made me feel so strong. The goal is to feel good, strong, and healthy and I really feel like I'm becoming that. And another current obsession right now is Olivia Rodriguez's
Starting point is 00:03:42 new album and Noah Khan's new album. I just love both of their newest albums. They're so good and honestly, it's been my repeat. Now on to the goal of the week. My goal of the week right now is to plant some new herbs in my garden. I bought a strawberry plant that's already planted and I just need to plant it into a pot now, but I want to get some new seeds to grow some things. So I just have been such in my garden, Martining Martha Stewart, Ina Garden era, and it makes me feel so whimsical, and I absolutely love just cooking my dinners with all my herbs from the garden. Another goal of the week right now, and I said this, I think last week, but it's to finish Happy Place, which is the book I'm reading.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I started it, and then I got sidetracked this summer. I really have not read as much as I wanted to this summer, so I want to finish that book this week and start another summer book because I'm really just trying to get as many seasonal books for the summer to read. And my last goal of the week is to swim five minutes every single day. I feel like it has been so hot outside and it's so easy to just want to stay in with the air conditioning on, but I really just want to swim outside at least five minutes a day every day. Now on to your affirmation of the week. The next six months will be my most successful yet. I love the affirmation so much and it's so fitting for today's episode. Now on to your self-love question of the week. What intention did I sit at the beginning of the year that I still haven't started? I love that so much, and it's really just holding us accountable, and diving in and reflecting back of what we started at the beginning of the year. It makes us aware of what we can do now moving forward.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Now on to the podcast review, if you want to be featured on next week's episode, make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts or leave a comment over Spotify. This review says, Hi, Jaden, I love the podcast so, so much. It is the perfect amount of ideas to keep in mind during the week. I struggle with having too many goals, but not anymore. I also love your questions of the week.
Starting point is 00:05:36 I will always have something a journal about during the week, which I used to not have. You inspire me every week to truly motivate me. Please keep doing what you're doing, and it really helps me. Also, in your episode, you asked what our favorite drink is at the summer. And my favorite drink to order right now is strawberry lemonade with matcha. It's really good, especially in summer. Thank you so much for your sweet review. I'm just so happy that you're finding the ideas that you need to just go throughout your week and have a good week.
Starting point is 00:06:03 I love how you love the self-love questions for journaling. I feel like I always do these to help you guys have ideas on how to reflect and affirmations. And they're honestly the perfect like journaling prompts. I'm so grateful for you and so happy that you're living the show. Now without further ado, it is time to get into today's episode. Today we are talking about the perfect mid-year reset to locking in for the rest of the year. Before anything, we just need to have a mid-year reality check. I want you to reflect on the first half of the year. And first off, I want you to celebrate your progress before focusing on what's missing because it's so easy to be like, I haven't even gotten 95% of my goals I said at the beginning of the year done yet.
Starting point is 00:06:45 It's so easy to think that you've been unproductive or you haven't achieved a lot. But first you need to look at the positive. What have you achieved? And even if you have achieved any of your goals that you said at the beginning of the year, what is something that you have done this year? That wasn't a goal that you put at the beginning of the year, but something that you feel is, necessary to give yourself a gold star for, give yourself a pat on the back for. So first I want you to acknowledge that. And once you do that, I want you decide how you want to feel from right now to the
Starting point is 00:07:14 end of the year. Like I said, it is so easy for us to be like, oh, I'm going to wait till 2027 until I start this. I'm going to wait until next month until I finally put progress into it. You need to stop waiting for January because every Monday, every month, every season is a fresh start. Literally right now is a fresh start. Right now, today, this month, is the perfect time for a reset because we are halfway through the year. And we can literally do so much with this time. Would you rather have six months of progress or six months of excuses? You don't need a new year to become a new you. So let's talk about how you can audit your current life because that's something that's very important.
Starting point is 00:07:53 We don't need a new life overnight. We just need to audit and change around some things that are currently happening in our life. So what's adding energy and what's draining energy? Being aware of those two things are so important because you know deep down. Who are the people that's draining your energy? What is draining your energy? Is it the doom scrolling? Is it the procrastination?
Starting point is 00:08:14 Is it just doing nothing with your time? Is it watching TV? What is draining you and what is giving you energy? Even though you don't like going to the gym, you feel so good after the gym, so maybe that's an energy giver to you. Maybe journaling is an energy giver eating out. meal, going for a fun little sweet treat with your family every week. Be aware, having awareness is one of the most important things, but being aware of energy givers and energy drainers are
Starting point is 00:08:42 going to be so crucial in rewriting the next six months. Also ask yourself, what habits are serving you? So this is what I said if things such as energy drainers of your phone or TV or people you hang out with, or maybe waking up late, going to bed late. All those things may not be. be serving you so ask yourself what habits are serving you don't think of the emotions think about what is at the end of the day helping me not just giving me temporary happiness or an easy way out so just being aware of what needs to stay a change and go i really want you to revisit your vision board whether you made one on paper like a board or if you did on pindress or even if you just wrote your goals down or if you didn't do anything like that you just thought of your goals and your intentions
Starting point is 00:09:27 really think to yourself and look back at it and think what were the things that you set at the very beginning of the year. I want you to compare your vision to your current reality. I want you to update the goals that no longer align because so much times we overset goals, stop oversetting goals that are way too unattainable. That's only going to make you feel pressure that's going to have you never want to start because it feels too unreachable. And it's also going to make you never feel accomplished because you can never achieve it. So just break your goals down. So get rid of the goals that don't align with you anymore or the goals that don't serve you anymore.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Even if that's rewriting all your goals that you set at the beginning of the year to now you're writing it completely differently, that's perfect because you know what you truly need. And most importantly, let's get excited about the next six months. I swear sometimes I will literally have to get so excited in order for me to lock in. So whatever that takes, whether that's restart, your whole Instagram feed, TikTok feed. Maybe you're following people that are not serving you and you want to follow a ton of people getting locked in, getting motivated and they're doing it.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Maybe you want to follow those people so it makes you feel motivated. Maybe instead of doom scrolling, you're going to go on Pinterest and look at all the goals and the visions that you want. Make a board of it and look forward to it. Look at it every morning. Maybe you're going to start listening more podcasts. You're going to stop consuming things that are bringing you down. Maybe you're going to invite your friend to do this.
Starting point is 00:10:57 We're both all locking in together. I promise you I'm doing this. I'm locking in for the next six months. And you are too. We can literally do this together. Pretend I'm your friend. Literally, we're both locked in doing this. If you listen over Spotify,
Starting point is 00:11:10 I know you guys always like to comment back to each other in the Spotify comment section. You may meet someone in the Spotify comments who's also doing this. So let's get excited about the next six months. So I want you to decide that those excuses are no longer an option that you do. Maybe you are someone who excuses a lot of things and honestly these excuses are not doing you justice. They're not bringing you any closer to where you want to be in your life
Starting point is 00:11:35 or to who you want to be in your life. I want you to become obsessed with consistency, not perfection. It is so easy to think, oh, I didn't have a perfect day. I didn't achieve all my steps. I didn't get everything done on my to-do list. No, it's not about that. It's that are we putting effort? Are you putting effort in? So become obsessed with consistency. A little effort is better than no effort at all. You need to let go of what's holding you back. So quit the habits that don't match your future. You know your future self.
Starting point is 00:12:05 You know the future that you want. But you're not going to get there with habits that don't match that personality, that person, that lifestyle that you want. You have to start distancing yourself from draining environments. Release those unrealistic expectations. Release the friends that no longer serve you. Become obsessed with the good. girl that you're becoming. Stop looking at self-career as a chore. You know the best version of you provides for herself, takes care of herself, and most importantly shows up for herself. Become so
Starting point is 00:12:35 dedicated to yourself that you end up becoming the girl on your vision board and are living the life that you've always dreamed of. With the summertime, of course we have our goals, but we also have real life hanging out with friends, work, or maybe even school. And of course, that takes up a lot of time, but one of your goals would be starting a business so you may be asking yourself, how can I have a business when I literally have a summer of plans to keep up with? But let me introduce you to something that I love Shopify. It makes starting a business easy and it has all the tools you need to launch and maintain your business from day one. And whenever I use Shopify websites, it is so easy to navigate. What I love most about it is their design
Starting point is 00:13:17 and launch feature with Shopify's templates and tools help your stunning site get up launched and running smoothly. I also love their checkout, turning more browsers into buyers. I also also love their sidekick feature it's there to help you build troubleshoot and keep moving all you need is idea and shopify handles the rest if you're serious about hearing your first start your free trial at shopify dot com slash busy yet pretty you heard that right start your free child today at shopify dot com slash busy yet pretty that's shopify dot com slash busy yet pretty if you've been following me for a while and listening to the show you know i'm trying to get rid of more polyester clothing and trying to prioritize having a full cotton linen and just high quality clothing and home decor. And I have deep dived and found only very minimal brands who carry exactly what I'm looking for. And one of the brands I always wear in love is quince. They carry organic cotton, Mongolian cashmere, and high quality materials that feel so luxurious and chic. But at the same time has great affordable options. They're literally
Starting point is 00:14:28 priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands. They carry apparel, bedding and bath, kitchen staples, and just so many essentials. So upgrade your every day, download Quince app for exclusive offers. Go to quince.com slash busy. Get free shipping on your order and 365 day returns, now available in Canada and the UK too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com slash busy. I seriously am obsessed with their dresses right now.
Starting point is 00:14:53 I promise you you are going to love all their pieces. So when it comes to resetting your daily routine, build a morning routine that you actually follow. Stop setting such a. unrealistic morning routine that you never end up showing up for yourself and never end up doing it and maybe you do it for one day and then the next day you don't ever do it again you want a routine that you benefit from can be disciplined with yourself but it can also be realistic i also want you to create an evening routine that sets yourself up for tomorrow i always say your morning routine
Starting point is 00:15:27 begins with your night routine and it is so true because when i eat like let's say when i am in bed and i'm watching tv and i'm staying up so late and it's like 2 a.m. am. Like, there's times I've done that. And let's say I'm eating some yummy snacks as much as I love that. And you should have those sporadic fun nights. But sometimes I'm like eating snacks late at night, in bed, watching TV. The next morning, I'm not hungry for breakfast. I'm tired. I'm groggy. And it's also way past the time I wanted to wake up at. As much as I enjoyed that at the time, it wasn't worth me feeling tired and groggy in the next day. So your morning routine always begins with your night routine. So create an evening routine that always sets yourself up for success tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:16:11 I want you to protect your routine like its appointments. Don't be flexible in your routine. Literally show up for yourself because if you have a doctor appointment or you have an appointment you have to get to, you won't just text a doctor with an excuse that you can't come. You're going to go. So you have to show up the same way you would for somebody else. Show up for yourself through your routine, your habits, everything. Now when it comes to building better habits, that's something that's something that's,
Starting point is 00:16:36 so important for the next six months. Focus on building one habit at a time. We always try to incorporate like three or five new habits at once. And while some of us can, majority of us can't because it's hard to stick and form a habit when you're incorporating too many at once. So start incorporating one new habit at a time and also focus on that one habit. Also make habits easy to maintain. So for you, maybe you don't have a ton of time to go on walks and hit your 10K steps if that's
Starting point is 00:17:05 your goal. Maybe you work from home on your computer, get a walking pad, walk and work at the same time. So habit stocking can be so helpful in achieving those habits and those goals. Another thing, for this mid-year reset, you need to refresh your environment. So have a deep clean and declutter your space. I promise you, as cliche as it is, it literally can do so much for you in your mental health. Because when your environment is clean, your head space is clean. Organize areas that create stress so maybe that's your bed, your dresser, your desk. Any areas that just make you feel like it needs to be cleaned in order for you to have organized thoughts is a real thing. It really is. Make your environment literally inspire productivity. Now when it comes to a digital reset,
Starting point is 00:17:50 digital resets are so important because if you're someone who's on your phone or just having a lot of online consumption, this is really important because the things that you consume is what you become. So, and follow the accounts that drain you, clean out your camera roll and your apps, and set healthier screen time with boundaries. I know it's so hard to get off your phone or to stop doom scrolling, but I promise you, you have to sometimes think when you've been on your phone. As much as you want to be on it, can you remember the last 10 things you've watched? I guarantee you the answer is no, because I can never remember the last 10 things I watched.
Starting point is 00:18:24 So it's really not that important. You need to get off your phone. You need to get off from the things that are draining you, weighing you down. and if you are going to watch things and then you are going to listen to things and consume things, make sure it's something that's actually benefiting you in the way of it's making you happy, making you feel positive, not draining you. When it comes to a health reset, prioritize sleep and recovery. That's so important.
Starting point is 00:18:47 So try going to bed earlier and trying to have at least seven to nine hours of sleep and also having good recovery. So if you're someone who works out or just are overwhelmed and drained from the day, Make sure you're getting your electrolytes. It's also so hot. So if you're somewhere where it's hot, make sure you're getting the electrolytes and staying hydrated. Move your body consistently. So get your steps in.
Starting point is 00:19:11 It doesn't need to be 30,000 steps today. Maybe you make a 2,000 to 5,000 step goal. Or if you have more time, a 10,000 to 15,000 step goal. Whatever that looks like for you is perfect. Maybe doing Pilates a few times a week or a little at-home workout a few times a week. You don't need to get dressed up in a huge workout outfit even. You literally can do everything from home where you're in your pajamas. After you wake up,
Starting point is 00:19:35 you work out for 10 minutes in your pajamas. I literally do that all the time. Sometimes I'm like, oh, I don't want to get my pink polotti's princess outfit on. I don't want to get all my sneakers on. I literally will just get my yoga mat out and I'll wear the clothes I'm wearing. I will literally just work out in my pajamas. As long as you're consistent, that's all that matters. It's not the perfection. It's the consistency that counts. Another thing for health reset is feel your body with foods that actually make you feel good. Of course, have those days that you enjoy and you feed your soul. So, like, I just had the other day, I went with my mom and dad, and I got like three scoops
Starting point is 00:20:10 of ice cream, ate it all. It was so good. I enjoyed it. And then guess what? The next day, you move on. You don't think, okay, since I ate all this, tomorrow I'm making up for it. I'm going to eat only healthy. No, have that balance.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Allow yourself to eat those things and have those days where you indulge and eat those yummy foods, but also have the majority of your diet and your health be whole foods and healthier snacks. I always like to follow the 80-20 rule. I'm more like honestly 70-30, where 70% is whole foods and healthy and then that 30% is what feeds your soul. But having that majority of health and your diet is so important because it's going to affect how you feel mentally and physically. Now when it comes to a little financial reset, I want you to review your spending habits in the past six months because this is something that's very important moving forward. So set a savings goal for the end of the year. Maybe by the end of the year you want to have saved a certain amount
Starting point is 00:21:06 and that's going to set you up for success next year and the following year and the year after that. And also something that we all don't realize we have is a lot of subscriptions or purchases that you don't use. So just look at your app store, figure out what you're subscribed to that you don't need anymore, cancel subscriptions you don't need, and purchases. that you just don't need to make anymore. Because that can be something that's weighing down your money that you don't even need to be buying. Start romanticizing your reset where you buy a new planner,
Starting point is 00:21:37 buy a new journal. If that's what it takes to get excited about the next six months, do it. Refresh your playlist. I have like a summer podcast playlist. If you go to Jaden Haley on Spotify, I have all the best motivational summer podcasts to listen to. Refresh your routine. Refresh anything that needs refreshing.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Make becoming this best version. of you exciting even though it's going to take discipline it's going to take a lot of work and effort it's going to pay off so much in the end i promise you you will never regret becoming the best version of you start becoming more disciplined as hard as it is do what you say you'll do literally do it it's all about getting up and doing it sometimes you have to physically do it and get up out of bed before you mentally can accept that you're going to get out of bed to go do a workout sometimes your body has to do it first and then your mind will accept it you need to stop negotiating with yourself. Build so much trust in yourself that you know that you're always going to show up for
Starting point is 00:22:31 yourself because you are your priority and the most important person in your life. Something else that's so important is focus on fewer goals. Stop trying to improve everything because that obviously cannot happen and it's not going to happen over that night especially. So stop trying to improve everything and just pick top three priority goals. Just go all in on like three things that truly matter to you. maybe your main three goals are having more muscle on your body. Your second goal is starting the business that you've wanted to start. Your third goal is getting your license. That's honestly shade to myself because I need to get my license.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Something else that's really important is protecting your peace. So saying no without guilt. If people ask you to hang out and you know that you're mentally drained, say no. Say no without guilt. If you have to take, if you're offered a job that's really good, but you know that you just don't have the space for it right now mentally. Say no without guilt. Spend less time also people pleasing.
Starting point is 00:23:29 That's really important. It's super easy to want to people please people and also just make them feel wanted, make them feel good, and make them know that you care about the relationship you have with them, but you have to stop people pleasing. Put yourself first, put your boundaries first, and choose peace over pressure. When it comes to becoming the best version of you today,
Starting point is 00:23:49 I want you to dress like her. I want you to think like her and make decisions like her. Sometimes you have to ask yourself, would she do this? Would she continue this habit? Would she hang out with these people? Truly asking yourself can be one of the best things to kind of decide, is this what I need for me in my life and is this actually benefiting me?
Starting point is 00:24:08 Or is this not? I want to introduce you to one of today's sponsors, Hinge, which is perfect since I know I've had so many questions as of recently on relationships and where to find someone with the same interest as you. Hinge is a dating app designed to be deleted. It's for people dating with intention, so going on dates, putting themselves out there. Hinge is designed for finding connections. So many of my friends actually met the loves of their life through Hinge.
Starting point is 00:24:38 And what I love about it, it's all about intention for people who are actually trying to find connection in relationships to truly just find your person. I personally am very selective when it comes to a partner in relationships. As you know, I would not settle for any less. So I love how with Hinge, it's designed to connect you to people who align to you and your lifestyle, which is so important when it comes to finding the right person for you. So if you're hearing this, this is your sign to download or re-download Hinge. If you're picky when it comes to the dating, I'd honestly just give it a look.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Because I've heard great things. And who knows, you may find the person you have been looking for. You're never going to feel ready to start. You're never going to feel that want and that desire to start and become that best version of you. So sometimes you have to start before you actually feel like that. already. One productive day creates another productive day. Action literally leads to motivation. So dedicate this time to yourself and know that you are going to show up for yourself, regardless of how you feel emotionally. Create this new lock-in routine with non-negotiable morning
Starting point is 00:25:42 habits. Have that daily movement and that personal growth. Set yourself up for success the night before. Remember, six months is not enough time to change your life. That's not the goal of this. Our goal is to get closer to achieving our goals and getting those intentions in and achieving our goals to get happier and healthier. You did nothing wrong the past six months. We are just getting ourselves on track and getting ourselves back to where we were at the beginning of the year when we were motivated. Consistency beats urgency. Get out your journal, get out your notes up, and write down all the things and all the goals that you want to achieve by the end of the year. Write down the habits.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Write down what your new routine looks like. Schedule things now instead of someday. start breaking down all the steps you need to achieve those goals and start one of those steps today. Also, give yourself something to look forward to every day. Those little rewards are what's going to keep you going and consistent in everyday life. So here are three questions I want you to ask yourself. What version of me do I want to leave behind? What habits would change my life by December and what would make me proud on New Year's Eve?
Starting point is 00:26:47 I feel like those are the best things to ask yourself and it really just opens your eyes to think, what am I doing right now? That can be different and that can change. It can change my life, change who I am by the end of the year. Not that we want to change yourself, but if you are someone who wants to change your current situation and make you feel happier and healthier and feel better waking up in the morning, that is the steps that you need to take.
Starting point is 00:27:10 I love you so much and I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it. I'm feeling so motivated and I'm so excited to just get on this journey of locking in for the next six months. And these are habits that we can carry, all through our lifetime. Even if we achieve everything by the next six months, we can carry that into the next year and the next year. So finding those good habits that we love and that sticks. If you enjoyed this episode, make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Also, I love reposting anything you guys tag me in over TikTok and Instagram.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Make sure to tag me so I can repost. Remember, the version of you that you desire is in your hands and do not forget to stay busy out pretty. M-a.
