I have really been trying to curate my closet this summer to have very much quality over quantity pieces.
So I'm trying to do just a closet refresh, weeding out clothes I no longer need or wear,
and just trying to have very quality pieces that last a long time.
One of my favorite dresses is one that I use so many questions on that I posted on my Instagram like a month ago.
And it's from quince.
It's literally one of my favorite places to get clothes from.
They have so many soft organic cotton pieces and washable silk and 100% European linens.
pants and dresses just starting at $32.
My mom and I are such quince girls.
Like, I literally love just browsing their site and seeing all the cute summer pieces they have.
Everything at quince is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands.
I truly just love them.
But elevate your summer wardrobe today by going to quince.com slash busy for free shipping

Hello, my love.
Welcome to The Busy Yet Pretty Podcast.
I'm your host, Jane Haley.
If you're new here, welcome.
I talk all about how to become the best version of you, seasonal routines, and honestly
just how to become a happier person in general.
There's so much stress we carry and just so many things on our mind always.
Trust me, you're not the only one.
And I just think it's important to romanticize the little things.
As cliche as it is, it really can help.
So anyways, I'm so happier here.
I feel like I've been doing a lot of inspo episodes and like mental health episodes.
And this is definitely like mental health as well focused.
But this is going to be one of my motivational episodes where I'm practically shouting at you,
but not shouting, but with love, out of love for you to have that motivation that you need.
If you have been in a slump, if you have just been stressed or burnt out, this will be the perfect episode for you.
This is going to be on the summer reset to feeling like yourself again.
So getting out of a slump and just the perfect motivation.
But before we do that, let's get into our weekly review.
This week, I have been taking care of my cat, Mr. Armani.
If you have been following over TikTok or Instagram, you know I've been posting all about his journey with him removing his ears and me removing his nose.
So he is an earless, toothless, and now noseless cat.
But anyways, he's healing so well.
I'm so proud of him.
And I'm just so happy to see that he's not going to be in pain anymore.
But I just have been taking care of him this week.
and another thing is I have been reorganizing and redecorating my room and my space for summer.
I feel like there's nothing more I look forward to than just redecorating my space for a new season.
And I'm definitely feeling that right now.
Look, I feel like right now it's peak season of a start of summer.
And I just have been doing all like my new summer decor and I love it.
And lastly, this week is I have been just enjoying more spontaneous plans throughout the week.
I feel like it's so important to have set routines and set plans.
but at the same time, having that, like, spontaneity is really important, and that's just the joy of life and summer and experiencing.
So don't be hard on yourself if you become off routine because you need those little days, so your days don't feel like a broken record.
Now into the current obsessions of the week.
My current obsession right now is trying new cafes with my mom.
I have gotten her hooked on macha, and I'm so proud of that.
There is nothing I take more pride in than knowing that I got someone hooked on matcha because I just love.
it so much and I just love to have someone to enjoy it with. So if you're a matcha person or just let me know
your coffee or macha or cafe order in general because I love to try new things. I can't lie. So
let me know your order below. If you are listening over Spotify in the common section,
another current obsession right now is stripes, pastels, and polka dots. I love so many like pastels
and colorful colors in the summertime. You round honestly too. Like even in the fall, I will
still be channeling such bright pastels and it just is so pretty to me but especially in the spring
and summertime i love nothing more than just cute designs like stripes polka dots and pastels
and lastly my current obsession right now is summer books i just finished our perfect storm absolutely
love that book it was so good and now i'm going to start a happy place so that's getting into my goal of the
week my goal of the week right now is to start the book happy place by emily henry i always love her books
one of my favorite all-time books is book lover.
So book lovers, so I'm really excited and I hope I love this book.
And I also love Beach Read by her.
So I feel like I'm going to like it.
Another thing that's a goal of the week is that I'm going to actually do tonight as a little Monday treat.
But I'm going to watch voicemails by Isabel.
I heard it's a cute rom-com, but at the same time, I got some DMs from you guys saying to grab a tissue box.
So I'm prepared.
I'm prepared to have the waterworks going.
And my last goal to week right now is to start some new supplements.
I feel like as soon, I just got my blood done.
So as soon as I get lab work done, I love to have a new supplement routine and kind of tend to my lab results.
So I'm going to have that and start a new summer supplement routine.
Now into the affirmation of a week.
Your affirmation is, this summer I will find myself again and become the best version of myself that feels true to who I am.
I love that affirmation so much.
I really recommend affirming that to yourself and journaling it.
And now on to your self-love question of the week, what is something that I subconsciously look forward to every day?
I feel like so many of us know what we look forward to, whether it's like a coffee or a maja or even going to the gym, whatever it is.
But there's sometimes something that we look forward to that we don't even know we do.
That could be like your evening shower or just putting moisturizer on your hands once you're in bed.
So stuff like that, what is something that you look forward to and make sure you always keep that into your routine?
Now to the podcast review.
If you are listening over Apple Podcasts, make sure to leave a podcast review or feel free to comment it over Spotify in the comment section, and I would love to feature yours next week.
This review is from M, and M said, I love listening to this podcast every Monday morning to start my week off right.
This summer is going to be the best one yet, and your advice is the best, and I can't wait to pick up more hobbies this summer.
I absolutely love that review, and I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying the podcast, especially for the summer.
and I feel like we're all just going to pick up some new hobbies, so I'm so excited for you.
Now, without further ado, it is time to get into today's episode, which I am so excited about and get ready to be motivated because I'm already feeling motivated by just thinking of this today.
Today, we're talking about the summer reset to feeling like yourself again.
So this is going to be getting out of the slump and the perfect motivation you need to just get back on track.
And maybe you have been in a slump for a few years, or it could just be a slump that you've had for a month.
But regardless, this is just how to find yourself again or just find a better version of you
and the perfect motivation to do that.
There's nothing I love more than a classic motivational, like, not a motivational speech,
but a motivational like lock-in.
I'm going to call it a lock-in.
A motivational lock-in where we're actually just getting dialed in and getting that motivation,
and this isn't necessarily motivation to get to the gym or eat healthy.
While it can be that and while those could be your goals,
this is motivation for whatever department that you know is best for you.
Maybe for you, it's getting more rest.
Maybe it's you getting up and having a better routine.
So whatever that is for you, you know your goals, but let's get into why you may not be feeling like yourself right now.
So many reasons why we just get into a slump in the first place is burnout, burnout, stress, and also just like living life on autopilot, where we're kind of having the same day, almost like a broken record.
I feel like the days where I become the most stressed and sad.
is the ones that are, and I don't, I'm not stressed and sad often. Oh, actually I am stressed often.
I can't lie. But the most days where I feel just in a slump and down or just like not like myself is when
every single day is looking like the same. Where I'm working every single day. I'm not getting outside
of the house. I'm not being social. I'm not doing anything exciting. So that's where you need to reflect and see,
okay, right now, do a reflection and see what is your routine and what are your days looking like right now?
because reflection and acceptance can be one of the first things that actually help take that turn into the right direction.
Another thing that may be causing you to not feel like yourself is spending too much time consuming and not enough time living.
It's so hard and we're just so used to consuming, whether it's on social media, whether it's consuming work, whether it's consuming other people's life that you're trying to help, whatever it is.
It's not enough time living because we're consuming too much.
And lastly, I would say disconnecting from just healthy habits, hobbies, and routines that actually make you feel like.
you. I feel like there's things where it's like, even me, okay, I haven't worked out in a while and
stuff, more to do with my health stuff. But then once my health started getting better, I still had a
hard time bouncing back into my workout routine. And sometimes I'm like, gosh, I don't want to start.
The hardest thing is starting. That's literally the hardest part because once you're in it and once
you've started doing it, even for a few days, it becomes second nature and it becomes easier and
easier day by day you do it. That can be a habit such as drinking water even. It's hard to drink it
at first and remember, but you just have to do it. And once you do it, it starts to become easier and
easier and something you actually start to look forward to. When it comes to getting out of a slum,
you need to stop waiting to feel motivated and start with small actions because let's just be real.
You aren't ever going to feel motivated. You aren't ever going to feel ready. Imagine if you said,
I'll start when I'm ready, babe, you're never going to be ready. Nobody's going to be ready. Like,
I kid you not, if I start,
when I was actually ready, I would have done nothing. Same with my podcast. I literally remember
thinking to myself, well, I don't feel ready right now. I don't feel ready because it doesn't feel
perfect. I need to do other things first in order to make you sound perfect before I actually
launch my podcast. If I never started, I would have never had made this my job. This is literally my
job. I've made my podcast my job. It's in the Spotify charts of education. It always is in the
charts. Like, I kid you not, I would not be in this position if I didn't just start. But let me just say,
when I started, it was not perfect. You can listen to some of my first episodes. And honestly,
it's like nails to a chalkboard. I can't even hear it. It's so like horrible sounding. But it doesn't
matter. I launched fast and perfected later. And I have to do that with my routines too. Sometimes
there's a habit that I want to start that I'm not looking forward to, but you have to launch fast and
perfect later. You also need to create momentum through simple daily wins. That's going to be starting
simple daily habits, like drinking more water. So if you want to start having a habit of going to the gym
every day, that's obviously maybe a habit that you haven't done whatsoever being going to the gym.
So it's laying out your clothes every day and just telling yourself, I'm going for literally five minutes.
I'm going for five minutes. I only say Andy passed that and just making that small little habit.
And you're going to be at the gym and you're going to think, okay,
well, I'm here ready. I might as well just stay a little longer, but that little habit will become
easier and easier and become subconsciously in your routine. Another thing is changing your
environment when you feel stuck. That's going to be environment, not just like your environment of your
home, but this is changing a lot of your environment. This is what you consume, what you watch,
this is where you go and do your work. Maybe you're someone who works from home. Maybe you need to go
work at a cafe or work at a friend's house. So you get out of your little bubble where you
procrastinate and start scrolling.
maybe this is going to be your friend group that's your environment if those people are bringing you
down they're not really friends then you need to go to a different environment a different friend group
in the summer i love to have consistency in my routine especially with my health since sometimes in the
summer i swear i'm just like wrapped up in the plans and going to adventure and go places and while all
of that is great it's still important to be consistent on your routines and your health which is why i love
AG1. AG1 is a daily health drink with a multivitamin pre and probiotics, superfoods and antioxidants
with just one scoop in eight ounces of water. It truly is so easy. I will just have a water
bottle on the go and then I'll just add my scoop of AG1 and I love knowing that I am doing what I need
for my health but also not having to invest so much time into it if I'm busy. It truly just makes
it so easy to have consistency in my health. Literally I love AG1. My dad is such an AG1 guy. We all
love AG1 here. Visit drinkag1.com slash pray to get a free morning person hat and free AG1
flavor sampler in your welcome kit with your first AG1 subscription and $82 value. That's drinkag1.com
slash pretty. First spring, one of my favorite things has been my nails and when my nails are done
because sometimes I just don't have time to go to the nail salon to do my nails. So I'll do them at home.
The funny thing is I actually bring the same nail polish to the nail salon because it's just that
good and I swear by it. I do the Olive and June gel polish and LHG and then a gel top coat.
I use the Olive and June Mani system. Everything you need in one box for a salon quality manicure.
I love how it doesn't chip and it lasts for seven or more days. Not only that, it comes down to
being only $2 per manicure, which is a lot more affordable than going to the nail salon,
but it has just been my current spring obsession because it just makes doing your nails at home so easy.
So if you're looking for a new manicure routine, I really recommend it.
You can visit olive and June.com slash pretty 20 for 20% off your first system.
That's O-L-I-V-E-A-N-D dot com slash P-R-E-T-T-Y-2-0 for 20% off your first system.
Last week I've talked all about environments and how to change your environment and reflection.
So if you want more on environments, you can listen to that episode.
But let's get into talking about how to romanticize your summer.
So, of course, there's a lot of things that you can do, such as romanticizing the little things in your routine,
and I talked about romanticizing summer just a few episodes ago as well for ideas and hobbies, but
this is simple, but create a bucket list of things that you want to do and want to look forward to.
I'm telling you, make it cute, make some, like, cute little, like, collages and cut it out,
make it a mood board and put it on your wall and look at it every day and actually have an area
where you can check the box off.
I used to do this when I was like eight years old, but I kid you not.
I would do it again now because it truly makes you do the thing and look forward to it.
Another thing this summer is become a yes person to new experiences and opportunities.
I feel like it's so easy to say no or take the easy way out and just not want to do something.
I kid you not.
I'm a homebody where it's like I never want to leave the house, but I'm a home body where I prefer to be home than going out.
Just because I like my routine.
I like being home.
And that's okay.
Don't get me wrong.
Be and enjoy your speech.
and you should because that's great to. But at the same time, it's okay to think, okay, you know,
I really, really want to stay home and I don't want to do anything. But I have been home for,
you know, a week now and I need to go out and do something. Maybe go to dinner with your friend
or go on an evening walk. Something that is simple. Just be a yes person. You don't have to go do
something you absolutely don't want to or want to avoid. That's not healthy for you or your
environment. But if you know it's going to be beneficial to you, you know at the end of the day,
you're going to feel better by going, then go.
And it's as simple as finding little things to make your day exciting, such as something to look
forward to.
It could be, okay, every single day of the summer, you're going to watch a new movie, or you're
going to read a chapter of your book.
You're going to call your friend in the evening and just talk.
Like, something to look forward to every single day.
Even as simple, I know I always reference this, but as simple as getting a macho or a coffee
or a dessert. Like, I have been on such a dessert kick, which I kid you not. On every episode,
I say I need to eat less sugar when it comes to, like, my health reasons by what my doctors
recommend me. But I kid you not, I love nothing more than a spontaneous sweet treat. So yesterday,
my mom and I got our macha and then we went to a cafe bakery and we got two different desserts.
Absolutely devoured them. They were so good. But I kid you not, that brought me so much joy. And it made me look
so forward to it, or maybe that could be something that you can do every single day.
Get your little coffee and dessert.
Something that is so simple, yet it can bring you so much joy, is the purpose of living
life.
No, of course, you don't have to have to spend money in order to enjoy your summer or to have
things to look forward to.
But if you're also feeling guilty about spending money, about things that you love, maybe
it's getting your nails done or getting a coffee out or something.
If you have the money and it brings you actual joy, do it.
it. It literally doesn't matter. Your money will come back to you. But you can't have that mindset of,
oh, I feel guilty getting my matcha every day. But it makes me so happy to get a drink out. Like,
that's my happiness. Get it. Because I kid you not, there are so many things that can make us happy.
And maybe for you, that is your happiness. So let that be your happiness. Embrace it. And don't
shame yourself for doing it. So let's talk about taking care of yourself again. Because I kid you not,
I bet you've been off routine just a bit and especially transitioning into summer. So this is going to be a
prioritizing sleep and hydration and nourishing meals. Stop skipping meals. Stop skipping hydration.
And stop doom scrolling late at night. If you need inspo to stop doom scrolling, I do have an
episode on that. But I also post no scroll Sundays where every Sunday I post me doing my no scroll Sunday
routine. So if you need some ideas on what to do, you can watch those. But I also just started my
garden on Sunday as my no scroll Sunday routine. And I kid you not, that's a new hobby I'm picking
up. Yes, it's a lot of work and yes, it's like a lot of time trying to figure out things and
how to make it work. But I kid you not, once you do it and pull the trigger and actually
start it, it becomes easy to keep up and have that consistency. It's something to look forward to
and keep up in the summer. Another thing when it comes to taking care of yourself is spending more
time outdoors in the sunshine. It is so easy to want to stay indoors, but I kid you not, just getting
your steps in is so important. I try every day. Of course, I can't every day get all my
steps in that I'd like. But every day I do, I feel so good and it feels so rewarding. So get your
steps in. It's not even about the number. Don't even track your steps if you don't want to.
All you have to do is get outside, get some sun, and just go walk around for a bit. That can do so
much on your mental health, your fiscal health. And honestly, it's going to make you more tired
in the evening. Since you went outside and did something, you didn't just stay in all day.
And another thing when it comes to taking care of yourself is create routines that support your
mental and fiscal health. It is so easy to forget and just make routines based off of either
our mental health or fiscal health and not together. I kid you not, both of those are as
equal priorities. If you are doing too much for your physical health where you're like trying to
put all these different things into all this different like time and routines into eating healthy
and going to the gym and getting your steps in, all that is great. But at the same time, you need some
stuff for your mental health as well. So make sure you have that healthy balance of
of getting both your mental and physical health a priority in your routine.
Okay, now it comes to investing in yourself, you need to start investing in yourself.
Let me tell you, nobody is going to do it for you except for you.
There are so many times that we just let ourselves go and we all do and it's okay,
but you have to invest in yourself because you have to realize no one's going to do it for
you, no one's going to pick you back up but yourself.
And also investing in yourself is going to make you feel so much better in all different
avenues and aspects of your life. I kid you not the aspect that you're feeling not great in
is the one right now that could be supported by having time put into investing in yourself.
So that's going to be reading more books. And if you are someone who doesn't like to read fictional,
read nonfiction self-help mental books. I kid you not. Those books can do such wonders on
your mental health and physical health and just a perspective change. Start listening to podcasts more
regularly. I kid you not. I think podcasts are so important. Of course, I know it's coming from someone
who has a podcast, but I kid you not, if you start listening to more podcasts and just absorbing that
content more than mindless doom scrolling where there's an intention, I guarantee it's going to
make you just feel so much better and more productive. You can have them on in the background of your
room. If you need some more like summer inspo motivation episodes for podcasts, I do have a summer
podcast playlist with different podcasts on it, with different episodes and everything, and episodes of
my own that I really recommend you listen to. It's on Spotify, you can search up Jaden Haley. And the podcast
playlist is called Podcasts to Change Your Mindset in Life this summer, 2026. And when it comes to
self-investment, that's also spending time developing more skills and hobbies that have been on your
to do list or things that you actually want to learn and try, and also making decisions that your
future self will thank you for. So maybe let's say you have,
more time this summer. Maybe it's picking up an extra job. So your future self is going to be
thanking you when school comes around and you have some more extra money. Or it's going to be you going
back to school, you're going to have less time. So maybe right now you're going to try to redo your
room, declutter your room. So you're going to feel better when school starts again. I feel like
taking that extra step can be just so important for yourself. Now when it comes to finding yourself again,
I want you to ask yourself, what truly makes you happy? This is, I feel like, best if you list
things down physically on paper or you can do it in your notes app but truly ask yourself what makes
me happy and what do I look forward to and what do you wish to have in your life and of course there's
things that we can't get right away or the drop of the hat maybe you can't get your dream car overnight
duh you can't do that and nobody really can or maybe you're not going to get a six-pack if that's your
goal overnight as well but start having a vision of what you want it can even be peace and calmness
that can be on your wish list of what you want in your life.
Have that on your wish list and what you want your life to be like.
And maybe if you don't know what you want your life to be like
and you don't know what you truly love or makes you happy,
go on Pinterest.
I always say this, but I kid you not, there's so much on there that gives you motivation.
And you'll start seeing, okay, I'm drawn to this and I like this.
Write those down after.
Or just make it a whole vision board, a little Pinterest board.
Another thing that I think is so important when finding yourself again is reconnect with old
passions and interest. So maybe something that you did when you were younger or it could even be
something that you feel like is goofy that is like way too young for you now. It doesn't matter what it
is. Color. If you like coloring color, there is no age limit to anything. If you are wanting to go play
with your barbie dolls that you have in your garage that you've saved for your future child one day,
go play with them. Like literally it doesn't matter. You have no one to impress but yourself.
Like heal your inner child. Do things you want for yourself.
Maybe you want to paint your room like a cute, crazy color that you've always wanted, but you have
held back on.
Maybe you wanted to cut your hair a certain look.
With that said, long story short, I just want you to give yourself permission to evolve and
change and be okay and fulfilled with the decisions you're making.
There's times I've doubted, not doubted, but there's times I'm like, oh gosh, I love color
and I love like a maximalist room.
I just love things.
I love things looking so cute, but curated.
and I sometimes have, I have like a lot of friends who have very minimal styles, very beige
aesthetic and very clean girl beige, if that makes sense.
And I love that, but I can't be it.
Like, that's not me.
I love color and I love pink and I love cute, like greens, blues, yellows.
I love all that and it makes me happy.
So I've had to accept.
I'm like, you know, that's not me.
Maybe one day I'll like that.
But right now in my life, I know what makes me happy and it's color.
So I'm going to lean.
onto it because at the end of the day, who am I trying to impress? I want to impress me,
myself and I. Now when it comes to motivation for a health and wellness summer reset,
move your bodies in ways that you actually enjoy. That for you may be not the gym. And I kid you
not, I have not been in the gym in so long. It just is not my thing. I love Pilates. I love yoga.
Or maybe you hate yoga. You love Pilates and you love the gym. Find what makes you actually happy
and you actually enjoy moving your body.
I really love doing yoga.
I love doing Pilates, like Matt Pilates and Reformer Pilates, but I don't usually do it that often.
But I love walking as well and just doing some light weights at home.
Like those things are one of my favorite ways of movement.
Another thing for you could be literally just doing pickleball, swimming in the pool, tennis.
Like there's so many ways that you can get movement in.
So figure out ways how you actually enjoy moving your body.
Also, I want you to focus on feeling good rather than looking a certain way.
We so often tie working out and movement to appearance.
I kid you not, it has to be the last thing you think of when it comes to movement.
I want you to think of movement and workouts for your health and for your body and see what makes you feel good.
Nothing to do with the outside appearance because when you find what actually works for you and feels good, it will show in your appearance.
Also, support your nervous system through rest and recovery.
So if you wake up, I mean you had a plan to do a workout and you're just like, gosh, I don't feel good.
Like my body is sore.
Don't do it.
Tend to how you feel.
Tend to your nervous system because we are so hard on ourselves and we bully ourselves way, way more than we should.
And we have so much on our plate.
So don't add on to it.
I want you to speak to yourself the way you would have loved one.
And don't let that go over your head.
Really try to think to yourself.
I like, I bet you would never talk to your friend or your mom or your sister.
someone you actually love the way you talk to yourself.
We are just so overly hard on ourselves.
Now, when it comes to creating a summer routine that you actually love,
that's designing your mornings that feel peaceful and intentional.
I feel like if there's one word that we should be living by every single day,
but especially in summer, is intention.
So create those healthy habits that fit your lifestyle
and build flexibility into your routine instead of chasing perfectionism.
Perfection will always be the cause of failure.
consistency over perfection is what you need to think because perfection will always lead us to
starting going 100 and then being burnt out you need to just start thinking how can I be consistent
you rather try than have no effort at all and some summer habits that instantly improve your life are so
important and these are again like simple things that you can just add in that are low effort high
output and that's going to be morning walks going swimming reading outside doing weekly resets
going to the farmers market cooking at home fresh seasonal meals having less green time and more
real life experiences those are personally all things that i feel make a really big difference
in my routine and things that just make a difference if i'm feeling in a slump just incorporating
those really are low effort things that you can do that are high output when becoming the best version
of yourself this summer you have to let go of
who you were this winter, this spring, we often just let our identity be wrapped up in one that we
dislike a lot. And we're wrapped up in one that we are just stuck on, where we get stuck on how we
feel about something. We can never just start fresh and start new, but you have to. No matter
if you feels like you're still on that winter slump, you're not, you're in summer and this is
your chance to change your life around. And of course, there's things that, you know, maybe not be able to
changed. Maybe we are going through a depressive episode and we can't get out of it. But there are things
that you can do to make it even if it makes it a 1% slight better. That 1% is better than 0%. So what can
you do to help yourself? Because nobody is going to do it for you. You are the only person who
is there for yourself from the day you're born to the day until your last day. So why would you be rude
to yourself? Why would you bully yourself and why would you not be there for yourself? You have to
invest in yourself. So focus on growth, focus on confidence and self-respect, and become someone
that you're actually excited to spend time with. Remember that summer is the chance to rest and not
reinvent and small habits can completely change how you feel. And this season is about creating a life
that you genuinely enjoy living and waking up to. I love you so much. I hope you enjoyed this
episode as much as I did recording it. I swear I feel so motivated just from talking about this.
and there's things I now just like have reflected on that I want to change that are not necessarily
unhealthy habits but just habits that I feel like I need to let go of and new ones that I want
to start so I'm so excited and I hope you enjoy this episode if you do make sure to leave a review
over Apple Podcasts and Spotify and also I've been seeing so many of you guys tag me in your
