Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, my love. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. If you were new here, welcome. I talk all about how to become the best version of you, enjoy your seasons, how to remind us that as your day, and ultimately just become the best version of you who is excited to wake up in the morning.
Starting point is 00:00:27 I'm very excited about today's episode, which is going to be on the ultimate fall reset. So this is going to be a productive fresh start for the season, seasonal goals, and how to feel like yourself again. Honestly, I feel like we could all use this episode. because when we are in summer, we're a little chill, we're a little lazy, and we have to get back to school, back to work, or back just on routine in general. And while we are entering the cozy months, I think it is important to have a new fresh start and just a little reset to enter the new season on a positive good note. So we'll be getting all into that today, but first let's do our weekly review.
Starting point is 00:01:02 This week, I have just been letting go of summer as much as I loved it. It is time to let go and embrace full. fall and I finally feel like I'm ready for fall. It just is hard when I currently live in San Diego, California. So it's still really hot outside and I just wake up every day wishing it was raining, wishing it was cold, but you always want what you can't have. So I'm enjoying the hot weather and pretending it's cozy hot weather. So that's what I'm doing right now. But I've been embracing fall and also just enjoying the last hot days before it does get chilly. So I've been going in the pool. I've been going on walks outside and of course just enjoying what I have right in front of me. Lastly, this week is I have just been staying organized and keeping my space refreshed, which I think is so important because when your space is organized, your brain space will be more organized and you're not going to feel like a mess because if your room is a mess, your home is a mess, you're going to feel like a mess.
Starting point is 00:01:58 And it's important to keep our mental part of us all in track. In order to do that, we have to keep our fiscal part, which is our room and our environment around. us. Now on to the current obsessions of the week. My current obsession right now is spring rolls. I love nothing more than fresh spring rolls and I wish I ate them more throughout the summer but, you know, there's no rules and I can eat them any time of season. But I've been loving fresh spring rolls where I'll do lettuce. I will even like add radish in it, tofu or shrimp and carrots and it just tastes so good and so refreshing. Another current obsession right now is golden chai lattes. I actually have never made my own golden chai latte, but the one from pop and bottle, which is like a prepackaged
Starting point is 00:02:43 one, is my favorite right now. It's so good. It's like the first sip of it. Literally, I feel like the Gilmore Girls like La La La Song is going off in my head. Like it literally tastes like the definition of fall. So I've been loving that. And my last craft session of the week is Gilmore Girls. I only watch Gilmore Girls during fall. I have to save certain shows, on the season because it just gives me that vibe. And I don't want to feel that throughout the summertime. So now that it's actually entering fall, I've been enjoying watching Gilmar Girls. And I'm so excited to be on my cozy show, cozy book era again. Now and to the goal of the week. My goal of the week right now is to get some new fall decor. I want to get some new cozy bedding
Starting point is 00:03:30 and maybe some like brown and gingham. I love just incorporating browns and neutrals into my room when it is the fall time. So I'm usually mostly like colorful and pastels, which is my favorite type of colors. But during the fall time, I love to just immerse myself in all type of cozy colors. So I need to get some new fall decor. I also need to find my fall new book I'm going to be reading. I need to make a fall TBR list and see what I want to read for this season. Unfortunately, I didn't get to as many books as I wanted to in the summertime, so I am going to try to set a goal to read a few different fall books throughout the fall time and the more homebody cozy months. But let me know your favorite fall book if you have one because I would love to read it. I know a lot of you guys read the Pumpkin Spice Cafe when I recommended it last year.
Starting point is 00:04:26 And I heard that you guys loved it, which makes me so happy. I love it. I feel like it was the epitome of fall. it's not one of my favorite storylines, but it really does just give the perfect fall feeling in a book. Honestly, to me, it feels like Gilmore Girls in a book. And my last goal of the week right now is to have fully no phone weekends. I usually do this where on the weekends, and I've been doing this for a while, but no scroll Sundays, where I just won't scroll on my phone on Sundays.
Starting point is 00:04:52 But I've gotten to the point now I'm doing fully no phone weekends. So I want to keep up doing that where I'm not going on my phone and I'm really just embracing the entire weekend. off my phone and it just feels so nice, rewarding, and it makes you actually excited to get back to work when Monday rolls around. Now on to the affirmation of the week. This fall will be my most fulfilled season yet. I love that affirmation so much and I recommend journaling that to yourself. Now on to the self-love question of the week. What am I most excited about this new season? I love that question so much and I really recommend asking yourself that and thinking and being aware of the intentions that you want to set moving into fall and the cozy,
Starting point is 00:05:32 homebody season that we're entering. Now on to the podcast review. If you want to be featured on next week's episode, make sure to leave a podcast review over Apple Podcasts and leave a rating over Spotify. This review is from Violet and Violet said she titles her podcast review literally life-changing, which is so sweet. But she said, I love writing in my journal while listening. I take notes on all your good tips. You've helped me rebrand my mindset and romanticize my life. I've genuinely been taking all your advice and I feel like my outlook on myself and life in general, is becoming more positive. Plus, you were so cool and smart.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Literally the embodiment of a girl's girl. I love that so much. Thank you so much, Violet. And that makes me so happy to hear that you enjoy the show. And I love how it has helped you just have a better outlook on yourself and life in general and just feeling more positive. That is literally the goal for me on Busy at Pretty. So I'm so happy you love the show. Now without further ado, it is time to get into today's episode.
Starting point is 00:06:28 As I mentioned earlier, today's episode is going to be a productive, fresh start, seasonal goals, and honestly just how to feel like yourself again, whether you've been a slump or just overall need some motivation for the new season. This is going to leave you so motivated and productive. I feel like anytime there's a new season, it just automatically to me feels like a fresh start. I feel like many people treat New Year's like a brand new start, and I do as well. Don't get me wrong. But I also feel like seasons are the perfect way to have just a new beginning because it's four quarters of the year. So you can always keep having a fresh start a quarter way of the year. And now that we're entering fall and a new
Starting point is 00:07:07 season, we can actually have a just a little refresh and a reset on all different areas of our life. So we can kind of use the season to reset without reinventing herself completely. I say a quote reset, but I also mean a refresh. So you don't have to reinvent everything in your life, your entire room, yourself, your wardrobe. You literally just need a refresh. So I'm really excited for us to have this new chapter going into the new season. If you are someone who has been in a slump and you just want to feel like yourself again, there are some signs that you probably picked up on that you aren't feeling like yourself and that could just be doom scrolling or mindlessly doing things to procrastinate our task. That could be us withdrawing and also feeling stagnant.
Starting point is 00:07:51 When I am in a slump, I usually feel like I'm staying staying in the same spot and I haven't moved and I also feel like that I have just caved inwards and I'm not doing the things that I know make me feel better at the end of the day. And the hardest part is starting. The hardest part is getting back onto routine and doing those things and making the initiative to advocate for yourself
Starting point is 00:08:12 and do those things that make you feel better. But again, it's hard actually getting up and doing it. So it's really important that we start reconnecting with what genuinely makes us happy when going into the new season. And that's going to be letting go of habits and routines and just expectations that don't feel like you anymore. Every season is a season for us to learn and grow and going into the next one,
Starting point is 00:08:34 you can know, okay, during summer, what worked for me, what didn't work for me? So this is about refreshing your life, not just romanticizing the season. So use fall as a checkpoint to reassess what isn't working and what is working. So we can start focusing on creating a life that feels good beyond just the aesthetics. The fresh start effect. So this is one of my favorite things because, this is why a new season can make it easier to change your habits. You literally can give yourself provision to start over without waiting for January and you can start using this shift in season as a
Starting point is 00:09:06 natural motivation boost. And it's also motivating to know that other people are shifting as well for the new season. So it feels like you're not just starting fresh by yourself. It's everybody else is transitioning into the new season together. It's time you begin taking inventory of your life. What I mean by that is what parts of your life currently feel aligned? So you can remember reflect and see what's straining you, what's chaotic or what's outdated, and what do you want more or less of? And I feel like that goes into fall goals. It makes it easy since we've reflected. We can know what are we setting our new goals for the season to be. So I want you to choose goals that actually matter to you. So separate I quote like I should goals from goals that you genuinely want. It's easy to
Starting point is 00:09:48 make goals that are like, okay, I should get my license. And yes, do get your license if you need to get your license, but more also goals of what is going to make you feel fulfilled and productive and make you feel happy by achieving at the end of the season. So maybe that goal could be a personal goal of being spending no time on your phone during the weekends or reading five books for the full time or even let's say there's a hobby that you've been wanting to start but you haven't yet starting that new hobby. Also pick a realistic number of priorities instead of overloading yourself. This is something that has changed my life and being productive that I live by every single day when setting my to do list, I used to put down literally 15 to 20 goals of the day
Starting point is 00:10:30 and they'd be a ton of to dos and I would never get them all done. I can't do 15 to 20 tasks all in one day. So even if I had, let's say, five tasks left on my to do list by the end of the day, I still didn't feel productive because I didn't complete it all. So by doing that was setting myself up for no success and you want to set yourself up for success. So instead, I started only writing down my top five priorities and anything else or extra can be done and achieved once I've just hit those top five priorities. So at the end of the day, when I complete those five priorities, I feel complete and I feel successful and it makes me feel motivated to do it again tomorrow because I see the progress. And again, it's all just reshaping your mindset on how you're writing down your to-do list
Starting point is 00:11:17 and your goals of the day. So when it comes to your goals of the season, again, pick a realistic number our priorities instead of trying to get a ton of things done this season that is unrealistic and will just overwhelm you and burn you out. So let's create a fall action plan. So I want you to turn each goal into small specific steps because if your goal is to read five books, that's going to feel overwhelming and you're not going to know where to start. So that's going to be, okay, picking out your TBR list for the fall. So choosing those five main books that you want to read as your goal of the week. So throughout this, week you can try to brainstorm and look around, see ideas and recommendations for books that you
Starting point is 00:11:57 would want to read. Then the following week, that next week, you can write your goal down to be to purchase the first book. And then that following week, once it delivers and you have your book, you can start reading that book. Start setting a amount of pages that you want to read per night. So basically what you're doing is breaking down your goal into small specific steps and you need to start deciding on what needs to happen weekly versus daily. Because we all. also have work goals. We have our life goals and we have school things to attend to. We have to-do lists that sometimes don't have a lot of free time or room for us to add in our goals. So it's important to set weekly goals instead of daily goals if you are someone who has a busy
Starting point is 00:12:38 schedule with work or school or anything else like kids or something that takes up your time and leaves you little room to work on your personal goals. And taking initiative on actually starting your goals. One of the best things that you can do is put your priorities into your calendar instead of leaving them as ideas on the side. Because if we make a mood board for fall or make a goal list for fall, that's going to do nothing if we just have a written down or in our mood board. We actually have to incorporate this into our calendar, incorporate those steps into your weekly goals and put, okay, Monday you're doing this, Tuesday you're doing this, and then maybe Friday you're going to work on it this day. Putting down the
Starting point is 00:13:19 those goals will actually have a to-do list on the schedule as a priority rather than just having a general goal that you want to complete by the end of the season. I'm going to soon have a fall morning and night routine episode, but to give a little hint into resetting our schedule, it is important for us to create a realistic weekly rhythm. So we will get into routines, like I said, but you do need to decide when you'll work, when you'll exercise, when you'll have social time, and when you'll rest. Having those priorities listed within your schedule and written down what days of the week are you doing this is so important because that's the difference between you completing your goals and you staying in the same position. When it comes to new goals for the season, many of us always put down starting a new business as a goal.
Starting point is 00:14:11 That goal can feel so big and so daunting when you've never started a business or ran a business. But let me remind you that having experience is not necessary for starting a business. Let me introduce you to something that I love Shopify. It makes starting a business easy and has all the tools you need to launch and maintain your business from day one. And whenever I use Shopify websites, it is so easy to navigate. What I love most about it is their design and launch feature, with Shopify's templates and tools help your stunning site get up launched and running smoothly. Shopify is an e-commerce platform that is responsible for millions of sales worldwide.
Starting point is 00:14:45 It is an online website storefront creator, inventory management system, point-of-sale system, so much more. Shopify handles all facets of business so that you don't have to use 10 different systems. One platform is all that anyone needs. Starting point is 00:15:35 deleted. It's for people dating with intention, going on dates, putting themselves out there. Hinge is designed for finding connections. When it comes to me personally for dating, I am just so picky. And being picky is important in order to find the right person for you. And something that I think is so important when it comes to dating is not settling. As I always say, do not settle for any less than you deserve, which is why Hinge is honestly just the perfect place to find connection and people who really connect with you, have the same interest, and just meet your non-negotiables. And Hinge makes it easy to start a conversation where you can just comment with a like or responding to a prompt. It can just give you that confidence that you need on your journey
Starting point is 00:16:14 to finding the person that just understands you and connects with you the best. Anyways, if you are on your dating journey or are looking to start dating again, I honestly recommend checking out Hinge. It's worth just giving a little bit. to try and who knows, you may connect and find the perfect person for you that meets all of your non-negotiables. So build your schedule around your actual energy, not your idealized self, because if I had my ideal schedule, it would be 20 tasks a day done, and the following day, I'm going to achieve 30 different things. I'm going to start a new business on Wednesday, and I'm going to travel on Thursday. Literally, that's not realistic. That's not realistic for anybody,
Starting point is 00:16:58 not just me, but anyone, but in general, we have to look at ourselves and see, okay, what can I mentally and physically attend to? And also not just mentally and physically, but my energy level. How much mentally, physically, and energy can I put towards those tasks on each day? Let's say you have a gym class every Friday. Maybe you want to schedule your errands right after gym class, and you know you're not going to schedule a lunch meeting with a friend that you haven't seen in a long time because you're going to feel more exhausted. and you won't have as much energy to participate in it. So again, put your priorities in your schedule
Starting point is 00:17:34 and schedule around your actual energy and not your ideal self. Because again, we have to be kind to resolve and we can't get everything done, especially if we think we are just Wonder Woman or a superhero and we literally cannot physically and mentally and energy-wise complete at all. I just love getting my life back in order for the new season,
Starting point is 00:17:55 so start tackling little things that you've been putting off. So all those little tasks that you're like, oh, I need to do that. I guarantee you it's not going to take that long to do it. There are sometimes things that I put off. I'm like, gosh, I have to look through this folder of papers to see what I can shred or keep. And it's like daunting. And then I'll do it. And I'll finally just like tackle the task.
Starting point is 00:18:17 And it literally took under 10 minutes. Just tackle the task and things that you've been putting off. Like go into this new season with a clean new slate. So don't take those little task into the new. new season, just get them done, clean up your calendar, your inbox, your to do list, and then you can start creating systems that prevent everything from piling up again. And one of my best ways to enter a new season without doing a full week or month reset is just doing a 24 hour reset. So you just pick one area that feels chaotic, maybe your room, your kitchen, your garage, your anything, just one area
Starting point is 00:18:53 that feels chaotic and you just completely reset that one area. Again, because if you think that you have to reset your whole house or reset everything in your life, that's going to feel overwhelming and you're going to do nothing rather than doing something. It's where it has some progress than no progress at all. So you can begin prepping your environment for the version of you that you're becoming. And also, one of my favorite things to do for a 24-hour reset is making tomorrow easier before you go to bed. So if you know tomorrow you have school and you have a test, have your backpack ready to go, have your coffee all ready for tomorrow morning.
Starting point is 00:19:26 because your morning routine always begins with your night routine. And one of the best ways to set yourself up for success is the night before. And that's also going to be removing unnecessary steps from your routine. So if you have a full booked routine and maybe you time block, so every hour you write down, okay, I'm going to do this, I'm going to brush my hair at this time, I'm going to brush my teeth, and I'm going to go open the fridge. Like, you don't need to be writing down every single step.
Starting point is 00:19:50 And that's only going to make you feel stressed. When you're going to do those little things anyway, so you might as well just flow with your routine. rather than trying to put down unnecessary steps in your head that doesn't need to be there. Keep everyday essentials easy to access as well. So like I said, if you go to school, have your backpack ready to go. So in the morning, you wake up, you know where your backpack is. You're not searching for it.
Starting point is 00:20:12 Same with your keys. Why are you putting your keys anywhere? Put your keys in the same spot. So when you wake up in the morning, you know where it is. You're not late to school. You're not late to work because you already know where your keys are. Same with breakfast. If you are someone who just rushes out the door, you're always hungry because you have no breakfast,
Starting point is 00:20:29 or you end up grabbing something that isn't the healthiest option because you didn't have time to prep breakfast, maybe make your breakfast the night before, make some overnight oats, some chia seeds, or meal prep. That is another great way to be prepared and also set yourself up for success. Sometimes you just need to ask yourself, how can I make this require less effort? And you'll realize it's always going to come down to planning and just having things prepared. When it comes to a productive girl fall, define productivity beyond constantly being busy. I love the word busy, clearly, busy yet pretty. And my podcast's name comes from having a busy life but making it pretty.
Starting point is 00:21:08 And that's why I want you to know that being productive doesn't mean just being busy. Reflect and see what things are just filling your time, making you, quote, busy, and then remove those and prioritize the things that you feel, actually move your life forward, and contribute progress to you. And learn when you're doing less will make you actually more effective. Some days I would be like, gosh, I feel like I did nothing. I was not productive today. But also, maybe your most, quote, unproductive days of just resting is the most productive
Starting point is 00:21:37 days because if you're constantly just on overdrive, you're going to burn out and you're going to be running on 1%. It's just like your phone. If you don't recharge your phone, it's not going to have the battery to continue working. So it's going to be running and going slow on 1% rather than recharging it, giving it a moment to rest and then coming back to it and it's on 100%. Your body and your mind works the same way. You need to give yourself time to refill and recharge in order to feel good and to be productive throughout the week. Start reintroducing structure without making your life rigid.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Many times we get structure and we think, okay, we need to be super disciplined. Discipline is great and we need to have discipline. But also we don't have to have a strict, strict schedule when having structure. Structure is literally just setting yourself up for an general knowledge of knowing what you're going to do. So when you wake up in the morning and you have, let's say, no work or no school, you're not thinking, okay, what do I do? I guess I'll just scroll on my phone. You know on your time off, you're going to go meet up with a friend at coffee. You're going to do a little workout at home. And on school and work days, you know you're going to wake up in the morning, do your skincare, do your hair care, and then eat breakfast. Again, it doesn't have to be super specific, but having a
Starting point is 00:22:52 general structure will make you feel so much more productive being able to follow something. So you can start creating anchor habits that you can keep in your days to feel consistent. So after breakfast every morning, if you have time, you're going to go on a 10 minute walk. Just incorporating these little things that makes such a big difference. And soon enough, when you do it over and over, it just becomes non-negotiables. And it actually becomes such a healthy habit in your routine that you don't want to ever let it go. And with structure, of course, we're not being overly strict.
Starting point is 00:23:18 So we have time for spontaneous moments or plans. So it still feels like you have a structured routine, but at the same time, it feels enjoyable because you know anytime something comes up, you have time in your schedule to hop on it and do it. But you also know if you don't have plans, then you do know what you're going to do for the day still because you have a general outline of the day that you can follow. I do this every new season, but having a digital reset is so important, especially if you're someone who tends to be on your phone or your computer a lot. Start cleaning out your camera roll.
Starting point is 00:23:49 So your camera roll, unused apps. Have a little declutter session, but on your phone. This is a big one and I always do this, but unfollow accounts that just you don't need to follow anymore. There's maybe creators or friends or people that you just don't need to follow anymore. You don't care to. And it doesn't need to fill up your feed if you don't actually care to see it. So you can unfollow and follow things that also make you feel behind or make you feel like you compare yourself to. And this is a big one, but create boundaries around mindless.
Starting point is 00:24:17 scrolling. I am obviously very big on not doom scrolling. I think it's so important to find ways that we can cope with procrastination other than doom scrolling. So make sure maybe you want to put it. I saw there was like something in a magazine that I read that someone puts a scrunchy over their phone. So it makes it hard to actually see what they're looking at and then it makes them get off their phone or maybe you want to turn your light to like it's like a red light or something on your phone. So you can't actually see the color very well when you're scrolling. Or you can put like the timer apps. There's so many timer apps that we can do on our settings. So maybe you've set a timer for yourself so you don't end up scrolling. Same like a digital reset. You need a mental
Starting point is 00:24:56 clutter reset. So anything that just clogs up your brain space is so important to let go of. Again, it's kind of like a task. There's tasks that we go and have just throughout the months and we just never check it off. Same with our thoughts. Many times we have thoughts that we think, oh, I need to do this or I wonder about this. I did it. ever do that and just brain dump brain dump everything that's taking up your mental space get it out on paper and then let it go start separating what you can control from what you can't that's also really hard is when we feel like we can't control something we start worrying about it and we start trying to control other areas of our life because we don't have control in that one area so start accepting what you can't control and start controlling
Starting point is 00:25:40 what you can so maybe you can't control that you have to go to work every day so something that you can't control is you can make it a little So every day, you know you're going to have something to look forward to on the way to work. Maybe you know every Friday you get a drink and then listen to a podcast on the way to work. And then every Monday, maybe you call your mom on the way to work, things that you can do to make your life easier. And you can start controlling what you can control, make the things that you can't control feel better. It's really important to start reconnecting with yourself.
Starting point is 00:26:09 So maybe you can ask yourself, what have you been missing lately? That can be revisiting interests and hobbies, especially in the fall time, where it's more of the home body months, and again, it's a new season. So many times I'll just look back and think, okay, when was I my happiest? And I'll literally revisit those hobbies, those routines, and those interests that I had into what I'm feeling now to get myself out of the slump and just to feel better overall. And it makes me start feeling better so quickly because I'm embodying and incorporating those things that I did when I felt my best.
Starting point is 00:26:41 That's also noticing what gives you energy rather than what simply looks productive. Maybe you try to go on little work dates at coffee shops, but you literally come back every time and you think, okay, I spent all day there, I think I was productive, but then you look on pen and paper and you actually achieved nothing, then maybe it's better that you just work from home. So again, reflecting and saying what looks productive and what actually is productive. We're going to become the most fulfilled version of ourself this fall. So think beyond productivity and aesthetics and start prioritizing relationships, experiences, and just overall creative fun.
Starting point is 00:27:17 I love to think what do I define as fulfilled? So ask yourself, what does fulfilled look like to you? Sometimes we have goals that we've carried for so many months or even years. Is this actually what we're wanting? Because I remember I had like start a clothing line on my to-do list for years. And then when I finally was going to go tackle it, I was like, I don't even want a clothing line. Why would I start something that I don't even want?
Starting point is 00:27:41 Again, that's reflecting and letting go of goals that you know why. longer need and noticing what actually makes you feel fulfilled. Especially now that we're entering the homebody season. I'm slowly starting to transition into fall and it makes me so sad to close out summer, but I can't lie. I always look forward to the new season because I just switch out my wardrobe. But while I've been getting out my old fall pieces, I'm realizing I don't have that much fall clothes.
Starting point is 00:28:12 So I've been taking myself on little shopping sprees for quality pieces. and one of my favorite places to shop organic cotton, washable silk, and Mongolian cashmere. That's all very elevated material, but also at a more affordable price, is Quince. From apparel to bedding, to kitchen essentials, to furniture, made with high quality materials, but are 50 to 80% less than similar brands. It's been honestly one of my favorite places to shop fall wardrobe. I have this one Quince dress, and I wear it all the time, so you can find the fall pieces you'll reach most for at Quintz.
Starting point is 00:28:46 download Quince app for app exclusive offers or go to quince.com slash busy. Get free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada and the UK too. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com slash busy. There's a brand that I found about, I would say like two years ago. I briefly used their products and just recently I started using them again. And I honestly can't believe that I forgot about them. They truly have some of my favorite skincare products. The brand is called One Skin, but it's not like typical skincare. Their skin care is so anti-aging and it's built to react and just smooth over lines and wrinkles after they show up. And since using their moisturizer, I've just found my skin just feels so much more smoother and it has a much more even tone. It's the OS1 face moisturizer.
Starting point is 00:29:41 And I think it's really cool that it's founded by four PhD longevity scientists. So you know they know truly about the skin on a cellular level. Born from over 10 years of longevity research, OneSkin is helping you unlock your healthiest skin now and as you age. For limited time, try OneSkin with 15% off using code busy at OneSkin.co slash busy. That's 15% at OneSkin.com with code busy. After you purchase, they'll ask you where you heard about them. Please support the show and tell them that I sent you. I think it's really important to protect your peace.
Starting point is 00:30:18 So identify commitments that constantly drain you. Maybe you have that one friend or that one person or even just this one. type of event that you're constantly asked to and it just drains you and you know what drains you except sometimes we like to pretend it doesn't but we actually do know like anytime we hang out with that one person and we always feel like unmotivated we feel tired and we also just feel maybe unhappy so identifying what commitment that actually drain us mentally or physically and also get comfortable saying no you do not need to say yes to everything and do not have any guilt on saying no because you don't need to fill every empty space in your schedule in order to have a productive schedule or even just to feel fulfilled.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Like I said earlier, it's good to have spontaneous plans that arise. So in order to do that, have your free time on your schedule. Make sure you have spaces in your schedule to work in plans like that when they arise. I love to do this when it comes to fall, but go on Pinterest, make a mood board or get some magazines or photos, print them out, cut them out, make a little mood board. I do either a Pinterest board or a physical mood board and hang it up on my wall. It just makes me feel so inspired for the new season and also just gets me into like a new vibe and style that I want to channel going into the season. Something you can also do with that is make a fall yes or no list.
Starting point is 00:31:41 So you can put yes and no on both sides of the paper and decide what deserves your energy this season. Same with habits, commitments, distractions, people. And just you can see yes or no what is coming. with me this season and what's not. So you can start creating boundaries around what you want to protect yourself. And of course, protect your time and your peace and your energy. And this I'm so excited about, but preparing for the holidays. So this is obviously going to be the busy months for the holidays. So you can start getting organized before your calendar fills up. Maybe you know you travel a lot during the holidays or you want to start planning early what you want to do for the holidays. Maybe you
Starting point is 00:32:18 want to host something. Maybe you also want to start planning even gifts early in advance. Or maybe before that even starts happening in conversation yet, you just need to get yourself organized. So use this time wisely. So get organized, get things done, and be productive before your calendar starts to fill up for the holidays. So to end this episode on a productive no, choose goals for the season. And I want you to make one change that immediately makes your life easier. So that could be an example. Putting a little hook on the wall to put your keys on it every single day so you know where they are or prepping your food the night before so you have your breakfast in the morning and lastly i want you to create one habit that supports the person that you want to become so maybe that person that you want to become wakes up early
Starting point is 00:33:02 so that one habit you're going to embody is going to bed by 10 o'clock it's a simple habit that you can start incorporating and it makes you feel closer to become the person that you want to be but i actually have one more thing that i want you to think of is decide what you want to feel like by the end of fall. I usually would say decide who you want to be by the end of fall, but I feel like how do you want to feel by the end of fall is even better than who do you want to be because how we want to feel is all derived in the person that we want to become as well. So if you want to feel productive, if you want to feel confident, feel motivated, what are the things that you have to do and put into your routine to get to be that person? I love that so
Starting point is 00:33:40 much and I really recommend asking yourself those things.
