Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the busy yet pretty podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley.
Happy New Year's, my dolls. I literally cannot believe we are in the new year. And this is no better time than to start now to achieve all your goals to become your best self. And I just get so excited for the new year because honestly, it's always good to remember. You can start anytime. It's never too late to start. You can always start throughout the middle of the year.
but it's always so refreshing to start getting everything in order right when the new year starts
and just getting back on your feet. And honestly, like I like to see it like a little renewal time.
So if you, let's say, have been slacking off, it's time to renew your healthy habits.
Or if you really haven't had any healthy habits, it's time to create some.
And I'm really excited to talk about today's episode.
I'm honestly just so excited right now to be talking to you guys today.
There's so much amazing things ahead of us.
And the year contains so many amazing things.
If you put your mind to it, if you believe you deserve it, and if you believe in yourself.
So I'm really excited to talk to you guys today.
And let's get into the weekly review.
First of all, happy New Year's.
And I know I already said it, but I have to say it again, happy New Year.
and I know the new year new me, but seriously, take that to mind because you know what,
it's the new year, no better time to start.
But I have just been so excited myself for the new year.
I think it's really easy for us to kind of get off track during the tail ends of the months
of the year.
And I'm just really excited to even myself get back on track, renewing my healthy habits,
and just feeling excited for the new year.
So that's something I've been really excited for.
In the next episode, I'll go more in depth of the weekly review for my holidays and everything.
But I just really want to get into today's episode.
So let's move on to our current obsession.
So my current obsession is exposing my eyes to sunlight early in the morning.
I've read really good things about looking not directly in the sunlight, but looking at like the sky.
and in the morning it can really help your cortisol levels.
It's shown to actually make you feel happier throughout the day when you do that in the morning.
So I've been doing that every day.
It just makes you feel more awake and energized.
So I really have been doing that and love it.
Another current obsession is Chinese chicken salads.
Do not get me started.
They are my go-to right now.
I'm obsessed.
My favorite ones are from Goop Kitchen and Jones on 3rd.
They are absolutely the best Chinese chicken salads ever.
I actually need to make my own because I've been getting it out way too much.
But you know what?
I've been cooking at home a lot.
So I'm very proud of myself for that.
Another current obsession is midday workouts.
I have become really consistent with working out again, which I'm very happy about.
And my midday workouts have been super nice because I feel like that little hump of the day
where you can retire, and then it kind of just like wakes me up, ready for the rest of the day.
And I don't know.
I just have been loving that.
Something else that's a current obsession, which is not even necessarily a current obsession,
just something almost I'm acknowledging that I've been proud of is not getting distracted.
I feel like I've been really distracted the past few months, like going on my phone.
And this week, I've been really making sure to cut out screen time and just be present.
not only be present, but focus on the stuff I'm working on and not be distracted.
So I've been really proud of myself for that.
Another current obsession is fragrances.
I have been such a fragrance girl.
I am discovering so many lovely fragrances.
And I am still wanting to figure out my signature scent.
One of my favorites is the Limpterreitrice by Dolce and Gabana.
That is one of the best smelling fragrances in my opinion.
It's just so fruity and light.
I just love it. I have been trying and testing out different scents, more like heavier ones,
like vanilla, which I think vanilla smells so good, but usually I always go for the more like
fruity and floral. Vanilla has been so nice lately or even like layering fragrances.
It smells so good. Another craft obsession is stretching between every hour or so. I really make it
a priority to throughout the day just randomly get up, do a one minute stretch and it just makes
you feel one, more like awakened.
And I don't know.
I just have been really liking that.
And it also helps my muscles not feel so tense.
Another cram obsession is taking time for myself in the evening.
I have always worked in the evening.
Being self-employed and doing freelance, I think it's really easy to pick up hours all
throughout the day, even if it's your, quote, off time.
And being what I do that I work freelance, I,
I tend to answer emails up to very late hours of the night.
But instead, I need to prioritize this time for myself.
So that has been a current obsession for me is just silencing my phone from emails and just really enjoying my time.
Because when I do that and I don't have that 24-7 hours of just working and I actually schedule out my time and not allow myself to answer emails, I actually work better on those times.
Let's say I work really hard in the day.
and then at the night, I do not let myself answer any emails.
Then in the morning, I'm ready to go and energize and motivated.
So I found that really productive and a current obsession.
Okay, next step is a goal of the week.
So my goal of the week is to start waking up at 6 a.m.
Today I'm going to cover lots of tips and advice to waking up early.
But I am very excited.
I've started waking up earlier and earlier before my alarm.
and I've missed it so much.
I love waking up early.
I am a morning girl,
but I'm trying to aim for 6 a.m.
And then soon, 5 a.m.
Another goal of the week is to get 5,000 steps in a day.
Like I said, working from home or working in an office,
obviously that can be hard to get your daily steps in,
but I think it's so good to move around on your break times,
go on a walk, go in the treadmill, do something.
So I am going to start walking more
Walking is just so relaxing.
Another goal of the week is to meditate every morning.
I really want to not check my phone the minute I wake up because no matter what, the
notifications are still there, but it depends on when you look at them and when you decide
to answer them.
So I want to start from now on not looking at my phone for the first hour and then getting
up, meditating for a few minutes, and then I can go on my phone after the first hour of
waking up.
And my last goal of the week is to stick to schedule.
I have found it really hard to bottle all my to-does up in my head because I will think of everything
and then I'll forget something or it just becomes way too stressful.
Like you have to write everything down.
So that's something I really recommend this year coming is to get a good planner because
once you get a good planner and you start planning things, you'll become 10 times more productive.
I can promise you that.
Okay, moving on to a self-love question to ask your kids.
What is your main self-love goal to achieve this year?
I love that question so much because we're getting into the new year and self-love is definitely a priority for 2020.
And every year following.
Okay, next step is an Apple podcast review.
This Apple podcast review is from Hydration Lover.
Hydration Lover said,
As a young teen girl, I'm constantly struggling with crushes, self-love,
knowing my self-worth, etc. Busy yet pretty helped me gain my confidence again and feel good
in my own skin. I'm always excited for the newest episode to be released and to learn what Jaden
Haley is focusing on that week. And the best part of the podcast is, it never feels like student
and teacher, but a convo between two friends. Oh my gosh, this is seriously one of my favorite
reviews ever. I'm like seriously smiling so hard because when she said that it never feels like
student and teacher, but a combo between two friends that just touches my heart because I never
want this to be me lecturing you or me trying to just teach you all these things. All I want to do
is share as if you were my friend. And you guys are all my friends. And when I get these DMs
that are so sweet or read the reviews off about how you guys view the podcast and you guys say it's
like a FaceTime call or talking to a friend, I want it to be some sort of comfort to you. So I am just
so thankful for that review. Thank you so much. It truly made my day. Okay, guys, moving on to
a daily affirmation. Stick to your plans and in six months, you may not even recognize yourself.
I love that so much because we can remember how if we literally stay consistent and stick to our
plan and stick to our goals, we literally may not even recognize ourselves in six months.
So I just love that so, so much. Okay, guys, without
Further ado, let's get into today's episode, which is the first episode of the year. And oh my gosh,
you know what I just realized is we are approaching our one year anniversary. So you know what?
We'll do another episode for that. Okay, guys, let's get into today's episode. So today's episode,
I want to talk about how this is your year. We're going to talk about starting fresh,
setting goals, and most importantly, improving your life. So,
let's get straight into it because we have lots to cover today. I first want to say, don't let
a year go to waste. Don't let time slip away. Time is non-refundable. It's so precious.
And every single day that we waste is a wasted day and we cannot get it back. Do not let this
year go to waste. You need to envision your life. And not only envision your life, you need to
envision your life, take action, and you will achieve the lifestyle you desire. You cannot just set a
goal and not take action. You have to take action into your goal. Everything is achievable and that's
something that I think everyone needs to realize because the only thing that you're thinking is unachievable
is your limiting beliefs. Your limiting beliefs are stopping you from believing you can achieve
something. Everything is achievable. If someone else can do it, you can do it. If nobody else
else has done it before, be the first person to do it. No goal is unrealistic, okay? You can achieve
any single goal that you put your mind to and believe you can do it. Okay, let's begin with the topic
of starting fresh. So I really want to talk about this because I think this category is so
important and it's super nice to incorporate starting fresh routines and everything when going
into the new year. Of course, you can start any single time of the year, but I think it almost just
feels a little better, even a little more motivating when we start at the beginning of the new year.
So let's get into talking about that.
So first off, I want you to go onto your phone right now, go to your socials, and then follow
every single person that doesn't serve you.
Whether it's someone that you compare yourself to on Instagram, whether it's someone you used
to know that you compare yourself to, maybe it's someone from your school who is just not nice to you.
do an unfollowing spree, clean out the people who don't serve you. Trust me, that will help
improve your mindset so much. I guarantee you spend too much time comparing yourself to someone on
social media and following people that don't serve you right. Remember Instagram, TikTok,
Pinterest. It's all a highlight reel. So don't compare yourself and follow the people who don't
serve you. And next, which is very important, is do a huge closet clean out.
I think closet cleanouts are so nice. Get rid of the clothes that don't fit you anymore. Get rid of clothes that you don't love anymore. Go donate them. Have a good clean out so you can bring more things in. And it just helps you have a more fresh state of mind. Another thing is get a deep clean. Deep clean top to bottom, every little crevice in your home because that will feel so good. And you'll actually be able to maintain a clean environment and space.
you have a deep clean. So I really recommend deep clean once and then slowly pick up every single day.
That really starts the year off really fresh in a nice clean slate. So I really recommend that.
Okay. Another thing that I really recommend for starting fresh this new year is letting go of
things you're holding on to. And that's both physically and mentally. I'm a hoarder. I hoard a lot
of things. So something that I do that makes me feel really nice, like a fresh start, is getting
rid of things. So whether that's receipts, get rid of them, stop holding onto things that you don't need.
And if that's emotionally also and mentally, if there's any thoughts or things that you have that
are weighing on you, you need to let them go because it's not good to carry that on into the new year,
address how you're feeling, and then let go. Let's say you didn't do very good on your most recent
exam. Okay, you can address the problem and how you're feeling. Now let it go, move on. Don't carry those
thoughts into the new year. It's really good to just let go of things. Another thing is to fix your
sleep schedule. That is just so important and something that a lot of people don't realize is your
morning routine literally begins with your night routine. When I'm saying that is if you go to bed at
two in the morning, you are not going to feel good to wake up at seven in the morning. If you go
to bed at let's say 10, you're going to feel great to wake up at 7 in the morning. So your morning
routine starts the night before during your night routine. So make sure you go to bed early
or go to bed at a reasonable hour and don't mindlessly scroll on your phone. That's one of
the worst things to do because blue light is not good for your eyes, especially when you're
going to bed because that literally keeps you awake. So I definitely recommend fixing your sleep
schedule, start the night before, and you will see a difference in the morning. And also, when this comes
to starting fresh or starting goals, don't go full force. Okay, you have to begin slow and then you
improve. So an example is if your goal is to wake up at 5.30 and you wake up at 8 now, start waking up
30 minutes earlier every week until you finally hit 530. So if you're waking up at 8 right now,
then wake up at 7.30 this week. Okay? Once you're waking up at 3 30 this week. Okay. Once you're,
achieve that, wake up at 7. Then wake up at 6.30. Take a step towards your goal, achieve it,
and take another step. Don't go full force or it's going to feel way too overwhelming and you probably
will just end up not doing it. Another thing that I think is one of the best ways to start your year off
is get a five-minute journal. Especially if you don't have time to journal throughout the day,
I really, really recommend a five-minute journal because it's such a simple way to start and end your day
with gratitude. So I really, really love the five-minute journal. It has amazing journal prompts.
It literally takes three minutes in the morning, two minutes at night. You literally write one sentence
for each prompt, and it's just so easy to incorporate every morning and in the evening. So I
really, really recommend that. And I have it linked over my Amazon storefront and modem if you guys
are wanting to check out in the five-minute journal. I mean, I honestly don't have time to journal every day.
So this really helps me practice gratitude and a positive mindset throughout the day,
then a positive outlook on life when it's just so simple and easy.
Another thing is use time with intention.
You need to stop slacking and use your time with intention.
Like I said, time is non-refundable.
You have to use time with intention.
Something that I am definitely doing this new year is rereading the secret.
I'm going to do it really easy, really fast to start my year off.
It's not a hard book. It's a simple read. And I swear when you read it, it will literally change your life.
If I have to say there's one thing that changed my life, it's that book. There is no other thing that I recommend to improve your life than the secret.
So I really recommend it. It's a very easy read. If you want it even in easier terms, you can get the teen version, which is the exact same thing, but it puts it into much easier words.
So I really recommend it.
I have it linked over my Amazon storefront.
You guys should check it out.
It's literally a few dollars and the best investment.
Okay, another thing that I think is so important for starting off this new year is cut out caffeine in your daily routine.
If you're someone who does like caffeine and needs more energy, I recommend replacing coffee and any energy drinks with matcha because maja has less caffeine, but it actually helps you stay focused and energize and doesn't have any crash.
So I really, really love macha, as you guys know.
So I really recommend looking into matcha, trying out ceremonial grade.
Do not get the culinary grade.
It's not going to taste good.
And it also won't give you the same benefits.
So I really recommend getting ceremonial grade matcha.
I have it linked actually over my modem, the one that I use.
And I absolutely love it.
I use it every single day.
And it keeps me energized, motivated.
and I have no crashes.
Also, a tip if you want to sweeten your matcha is add honey or agave or maple syrup.
It tastes so good.
My definitely go-to is honey for it.
I just think it tastes so lovely.
And I personally love to do it with almond milk.
Oat milk is really good too.
Or honestly, any milk, but I think almond milk tastes really good in it.
Okay, something else that I really recommend for starting fresh this new year is eating foods that feel your mind, body, and soul.
I think it's so important to take care of ourselves.
The 80-20 rule is so important.
80% of the time, which is the majority,
eat healthy, nutritious, fueling foods,
and the 20% eat what you want.
It can make you happy.
It can be anything.
I think it's really important to follow the 80-20 rule
to fuel your mind, body, and soul.
And intuitive eating is so important.
Make sure to eat three meals a day and snacks,
listen to your body.
energy comes from food.
So feel your body with food.
Okay, another thing is daily movement.
Get daily movement in, whether that's walking, exercise, strength training.
It can be anything, but get daily movement in because you will see a difference in how you focus, in your health,
and how you physically feel when you incorporate some sort of daily movement.
Another thing is let go of fake friends.
Get rid of those fake friends.
you know they're not serving you.
So just let go of them.
And something that I definitely encourage you do is cut contact with all the male specimen
who have wrong intentions, who ghost you, and you know who they are.
Don't try to deny it.
They're not there for you.
They don't care about you.
You need to care about yourself.
Cut contact with all those people who have wrong intentions and who don't respect you.
One of my favorite quotes, as I say, is set your standards high and you'll prevent
low quality experiences.
If you set your standards high and not allow someone to be disrespectful to you, you will not
ever receive disrespect.
And I can promise you that because you're not going to accept it and you'll never receive
it.
So if you set your standards high, you'll receive high quality experiences.
Me wasting time on men who aren't respectful and mature, couldn't be me.
Could not be me.
You will not find me wasting time on men who are disrespectful, immature.
and who are playing games or who have wrong intentions,
I know who they are,
I do not engage and I do not care, they don't exist.
So you need to do the same,
have respect for yourself,
literally have respect for yourself this new year,
do not tolerate anything less,
you know deep down,
stop craving the attention and seeking attention from guys,
seek it from within,
and provide that attention for yourself.
Another good thing is start looking at the positive in life.
look at life through a positive lens.
In my last episode, I really talked about this on romanticizing your life.
And the episode is called How to Be Your Own Dream Girl.
So I really recommend listening to that if you want to figure out how to have a good outlook on life.
And also how to form the mindset to being the person you want to be.
Another thing I really recommend for starting fresh this new year is creating a physical vision board.
Physical vision boards are so important because you actually are taking time and effort
being hands-on into having your goals.
I made one and I love it and I'm very excited to look at it and take time with it.
I'm also going to make one over Pinterest as well.
So I definitely recommend doing either a Pinterest one or a physical one for this new year.
Now moving on to the topic of setting goals.
So as I said, begin small and improve as you go.
I recommend to everyone launch fast, perfect later.
I literally did this with the podcast where I didn't feel it was perfect, so I didn't want to launch it right away.
But I was literally going to put it off for months.
But instead, I was like, you know what, I'm just going to do it.
I launched fast.
A few months later, I was in the charts of education over Spotify.
And I perfected as I went.
So just begin and improve as you go.
This is really meaningful.
And it's really good to be mindful about this.
But behind every goal, there's intention and a reason.
You need to determine the reason and the intention behind every goal that you have.
Because setting a goal, yeah, that's a goal.
That's great to work towards.
You got to achieve it.
But having your intention is what drives you, having a passion.
For instance, if your goal is to make a million dollars a year, why do you want to make a million
dollars a year?
Because you want to have the money to travel around the world.
Okay.
So that is your intention and reason behind your goal.
Remember the intention.
Remember the reason.
and that's how you will achieve your goal.
If you say you want to start working out 30 minutes a day as your goal, what's your intention
behind it?
Is your intention and reason to get more toned?
Work out because you want to get more toned.
Remember the intention and reason behind your goal.
So that will drive you into achieving your goal.
Another thing is hold yourself accountable.
I think it's really important to hold yourself accountable.
You have to remember the only way you're going to achieve your goal is you.
Everything is in your hands.
Yeah, writing down on.
list of goals is great. I do it myself, but you need to become the person you would be if you
achieve those goals. Emboddy those emotions. Emboddy the lifestyle. Embrace how you would be
if you were to achieve those goals. If you don't believe in yourself, I guarantee you,
you will not put in the same amount of work and effort as you would if you actually believe you
could achieve your goals. Stop setting low goals to avoid disappointment. That's your first problem.
A lot of people will set goals low and they know it's kind of easy.
It'll avoid disappointment from achieving their actual thing that they're wanting, okay?
You need to aim for the best and you will receive the best.
Okay, if you're aiming low, guess what?
You're going to receive the low.
If you aim for the best, you will achieve and be the best.
And I think it's really good to reward yourself for each step that you do closer to your goal.
Don't take on everything at once.
You have to go step by step and look at every single.
step towards your goal as an achievement and then you need to reward yourself.
When setting goals, it's so important to not compare your progress to someone else.
It's not a race, but think of it almost like a race where if you were in a race and you
keep looking at the person next to you to see their progress and where they're at in the race,
you'll eventually lose track of your flow and your rhythm from being distracted looking at someone
else and all of a sudden you're going to see them cross the finish line way before you do
because you got distracted.
The minute you start getting distracted
and looking at someone else
and trying to see what the other person is doing
and trying to compare your progress to someone else,
you're going to lose progress and lose your rhythm.
Don't compare your progress to someone else.
Personally, I love constructive criticism.
I love it because I think that's great
to have a good outlook.
You can grow.
You can grow that way because you're getting second opinions.
But do not take criticism from people
you wouldn't take advice from.
Something else that I think is really popular in the whole motivational world, which is
work smarter, not harder.
I heard Edmys let's say this and I totally agree with this, which is do both.
Work smarter and work harder.
Because when you do both, you will notice the difference.
And I think this ties really well into that, which is hard work beats talent when talent
stops working hard.
There could be two people who were hired for a job, okay?
And let's say one is so talented at this job.
And let's say the other person is just not as talented.
The talented person is slacking off, not putting in the hard work.
But on the other hand, the other person is actually not as talented, but putting in hard work.
Hard work beats talent when talent stops working hard.
So remember that.
Jumping back to the topic of envisioning and literally living life as if you already achieve your goals.
I want to share my experience with that because many times I had big goals that I actually embodied those feelings and lived if I achieved them.
I actually ended up achieving all the goals and I didn't even realize I achieved them since I already mentally made myself believe that I did.
What I mean by that is I made myself believe I already achieved them and when I actually ended up achieving them I didn't even realize because I already felt those feelings as if I already achieved them and because deep down,
I knew I deserved to achieve those goals.
So I didn't even realize I achieved them until I looked back later on being like,
oh my gosh, I had this goal and I actually achieved it and I didn't even realize it.
It's because I believed I achieved them before I actually did it.
There are no goals that are too big to aim for.
What do you wish to achieve, regardless of how unrealistic it feels?
Okay, that's your goal then.
Whatever you wish to achieve can be your goal.
And remember, let's say one thing fails,
or if you take a risk and that fails, be excited for what's ahead because you will be led to something 10 times better than what you had hoped for.
I promise you that because there are so many times where I've been disappointed I knew deep down there's going to be something better.
There's going to be something better.
And guess what?
Something a hundred times better came into my life.
Lastly, on the topic of improving your life, you have to start looking at life in a positive lens.
and you have to start acknowledging the positive.
If you constantly point out negative things in your life,
all you'll notice and attract is negativity.
If you're constantly living with gratitude in acknowledging positivity,
you'll only notice positive things.
And then the negative things will go past your head,
let alone you'll not attract negative things.
If you think positive, you'll attract positive.
If you think negative, you'll attract negative.
Where energy goes, energy flows.
Another thing is visualize your highest self and show up as her.
Believe you are that person and you deserve to be that person and you are that person
and you will become that person in reality.
Start incorporating meditating Pilates, hydrate, self-care, cut out screen time, 80-20,
have discipline and care for yourself in this new year.
Start being mindful about the things around you.
start being mindful about all the beautiful things that are in your presence and all the opportunities
that are going to happen if you put your mind to it. Stay true to your dreams and success will follow.
Begin this year strong with goals and intention behind your goals. Stop making excuses. The more you create
excuses, the more you'll hold yourself back. That's the truth. Another thing is create a vision
board on Pinterest or physical one. Create one for the beginning of the year. Make it your home screen
and believe you have already achieved the life that you want to live.
Stop aiming low, aim high,
and I promise you if you believe in yourself
and you put the hard work into it,
you will achieve those goals.
Tune into the recent episode,
which is how to be your own dream girl,
