Starting point is 00:00:10 Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the busy yet pretty podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. This episode is going to be the perfect winter motivation to wake up excited for the day that will feel your mind, body, and soul. So without further ado, let's get into today's weekly review. This week was Thanksgiving, so I was back home with my parents. There is nothing better than just seeing your family and visiting your loved ones, especially during the holidays. Also, I woke up one day and received literally hundreds of DMs and tagged stories from you guys. And I was like, what is going on? And then I realized everybody received their Spotify-wrapped history. And it just made my heart so happy because everyone just sent the sweetest messages. And so many of you guys showed me that I was the top number one. Listen to podcasts for the year for you. And I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Literally words cannot express how grateful I am for you guys and just love our community. I just love the busy at Pretty Babes. So thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all your guys' love and support. And let's get back to the weekly review. Another thing this week is I have just been scrolling on Pinterest for Winter Inspo and really just enjoying the winter slow months. Moving on to my current obsession. My current obsession right now is not only a macho-lawful.
Starting point is 00:01:40 but a hot macho latte. I am such a macha girl. I know you guys, most of you guys, are a macha babe as well. And of course I love myself a peppermint mocha, but you know I am just still addicted to my macha year round. Another cramp session right now is knit loungeware sets. I am just so ashamed to say this, but honestly I've lived in the exact same loungeware
Starting point is 00:02:04 for well over a week straight, and I just finally washed it now. I feel the winter is just made for lounge wear. Another current obsession right now is compression socks. I've been really interested in learning about circulation and how the benefits of compression socks are just incredible. So I have just been obsessed with wearing them lately. Another current obsession right now is to also wear something and not only is it socks, but
Starting point is 00:02:32 it is a fake engagement ring. Am I married? No. Do I have a fiancé? No. Am I engaged? No. Do I even have a boyfriend? No. But am I wearing an engagement ring? Yes, I am. I have just been wearing one every single time I go out because honestly it is the best way to have a guy not talk to you. It is truly just a free male specimen repellent. I love it. I'm not going to lie if you want to go out and not just have guys talking to you all the time because we know you guys are so hot. We are. We are. just so perfect and so beautiful. So guys just always try to talk to us.
Starting point is 00:03:14 So it is just the perfect way to have guys not talk to you is by wearing a fake engagement ring. I love it. And my last current obsession is not washing my face with soap in the morning. I have just been rinsing my face with cold water instead of actually washing and cleansing my face in the morning. And I swear it's made my skin so much more hydrated and I really recommended to you guys. especially during the winter.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Moving on to the goal of the week. So my goal is to plan out my Christmas gifts, what I'm getting everyone. I like to get it as done as soon as possible in December, so I don't have to stress about it and I can enjoy it the wintertime. Another goal of the week is to declutter, which I basically already did because I'm recording this right now at 2 a.m. in the morning the same day this episode has been released because all night I have been just sifting through old clothes
Starting point is 00:04:08 and prepping for an upcoming closet sale. So if you live in Los Angeles, definitely stay tuned over my Instagram for the details for the sale. My last goal of the week is to really just try to finish a book before the end of the year. And I really encourage you to do that as well because I feel like we are all ones who just start a book and sometimes forget to finish it. Moving on to an affirmation. The sky is not the limit your mind is. This is an affirmation that I really preached on my recent. episode on potential and it just has really stuck with me so I really recommend journaling that
Starting point is 00:04:44 affirmation next is a self-love question how do I show up for myself in my daily life I love that question so much and I really want you to take a second and ask yourself that question moving on to a challenge text a random person in your contacts and wish them a good winter or something positive anything that just makes someone feel good you know what Let's do that together. Starting point is 00:06:16 because it is finally the holiday season and let's get straight into how you're able to wake up to a perfect winter morning routine that will just get you into the holiday and winter spirit every single day. It's a new season and that means a new routine. Okay, it's actually not a new season yet. It's technically not winter, but the minute it turns December 1st, it automatically is winter to me. The winter is all about taking things slower and it is the perfect time to just recharge your mind, body, and soul for the upcoming new year. Something that is so important to remember when creating a routine is that routines should not ever be forced. They should be created and personalized to what works best for you. and not create a routine just based off of what you're saying online,
Starting point is 00:07:09 which is why it is so beautiful that you can create your own routine based on what you need. Because your friend's routine is not going to look like yours. Your schedule is different than your friends. Your needs are different than your friends. Your preferences are different than your friends. So why do you feel that your routine should be the same as your friends or your family members or the girl that you see online, the influencer? What is important is to remember is that what works for you may not work for somebody else
Starting point is 00:07:41 and the same goes for them where their routine may not work for you. So when you're building your new routine this winter, keep nobody but your own preference schedule and needs in mind because this is your routine. With that being said, it is time to build a perfect holiday winter routine. I'm sorry, but you have no choice but to add holiday activity. into your routine this year. We all collectively wait for the holidays and then the holidays finally come
Starting point is 00:08:12 and we don't live in the present. Don't let the holidays pass you up by not living in the moment. I know the holidays can be hard for those who may have lost somebody or have had a bad experience with the holidays. And first of all, my love is being sent fully to you during the holiday season,
Starting point is 00:08:31 but also those who think of the holidays as a longing, dreading time. This can be the year that you can change the narrative and recreate the meaning of the holidays for you. Creating a winter routine that you're excited to wake up to and wind down to can drastically improve your relationship with the holiday season. When talking about routines, I always say this, but your morning routine begins with your night routine.
Starting point is 00:08:58 So it is time for you to perfect the perfect night routine for you that you're going to bed early and prepping for the new day. And in the morning, it is so normal for you to not want to get up. I mean, we're tired. We just want to lay in bed, but it can be hard to get up and wake up in the morning, especially in the cold winter months. It's just chilly to get out of bed and we don't want to get up, but it becomes so easy for us to want to stay in bed to avoid the cold.
Starting point is 00:09:27 But you shouldn't be waking up and avoiding your task just to stay warm and cozy. I want you to start laying out your favorite robe and slippers the night before, so when you wake up, you have it there for you to put on, so it allows you to defrost and get your morning started without feeling like you have to lay in bed to stay warm. I am a girl who lives for the holidays and who also lives for a little sweet treat, and with that, I am just someone who loves to bake and bring things to little family gatherings during the holidays, but I can't lie, I really want to sharpen up. my baking skills. Starting point is 00:11:20 you starting your morning off by being mindful and being grateful will drastically improve your day and set you up for success and positivity. This winter begins. starting your morning off being grateful and mindful. For you, maybe that looks like meditating or journaling. Personally, I am a huge fan of the five-minute journal, which is a classic wellness favorite by everybody. I link the exact journal that I do every single morning in the show notes. Or if you have your own journal, you can just journal what you're grateful for. And I swear to you that simple activity sets your day up for positivity and actually allows things to attract into your day. Something that you need to start doing is while you're doing your morning gratitude, start
Starting point is 00:12:03 oil pulling. I just started oil pulling and I swear I am in shock how beneficial this is. You can get a spoonful of coconut oil and just swish it around your mouth for about five to 10 minutes and it literally vanishes your bad breath. I swear like you will not have bad breath ever when you start oil pulling. As I said, it is time for a slow wellness winter, so start your day off with a warm tea or a latte. Starting off with a warm tea, just so relaxing and so soul-feeding. And I always say this, but if you're going to have a latte, I always recommend a decaf one. I swear if decaf has one fan, it's me. But get your tea, get your coffee, get your macha with your fuzzy socks and robe on, as you journal in bed and plan out your day, and I promise you that will make such a difference
Starting point is 00:12:59 in your mental health by incorporating those soul feeding activities. I really encourage you to be more intuitive, especially during the holidays, because sometimes it will wake up and have plans for us to do something, and then all of a sudden we're just craving something else, but we push through it. Even if your plan one day was to have a full productive morning clean and have your Sunday reset, but instead you woke up and all you would just want to do is watch your Christmas movie, watch the Grinch, lay in bed, take the morning slow with a mocha, then do it.
Starting point is 00:13:35 You are craving that in your mind, body, and soul and it is time to acknowledge those cravings and do it. I promise you, you missing one day being productive will not make a difference. And by listening to your needs, even if that means your soul is craving to watch a movie or your body is craving to have a cinnamon roll, cute little pancakes, whatever you're wanting, that will be more productive than anything else. Enjoy the time you currently have.
Starting point is 00:14:03 You don't know what your life is going to look like a year down the line, five years down the line, 10 years down the line. You may have tons of kids. You may have a husband. You may have other people and other things filling up your time. So when you have the opportunity to acknowledge and to, to listen to your cravings and what you're wanting, then you better take that opportunity. Don't let time pass you up and begin enjoying the presence of your life and if your mind, body,
Starting point is 00:14:33 and soul is craving something, feed it. Waking up and not wanting to do anything but relax will not set you back and ruin your progress of being productive. If you crave a cinnamon roll and a hot chocolate for breakfast, you eating this will not make you lose all your gym progress or ruin your wellness journey. Stop thinking deeply about everything and begin providing what your mind, body, and soul actually needs. Instead of putting your needs last because I promise you it is not worth it. Especially during the holidays, the biggest gift that you could give yourself is just being kind to yourself
Starting point is 00:15:09 and showing love to yourself. I am just so busy during the holiday season and I'm not going to lie, all I want to do is just have a simple relaxing evening with not having to worry about cooking, which is why I am so obsessed with HelloFresh this winter. Back on the topic of routines, ice rolling is so essential. matter what season it is. I understand it may be freezing in the morning, but your face will think
Starting point is 00:16:51 you later once you depuff it. Ice rolling is just truly the best way to depuff and naturally feel awake. It's honestly nature's caffeine. When you wake up in the morning this winter, make your bed as soon as you get up. Do not make excuses on while you're not making it or I'll make it later. You're not going to make it later and you're going to come back to your room messy. Make your damn bed. It is so simple. It takes literally under a minute, so stop finding excuses on why you can't make it today or that you'll make your bed later. I feel like I don't even have to mention this because this is a given for everyone to do during the holiday season. But the minute you wake up, put on some holiday Christmas music and light a nice smelling winter candle. Those two
Starting point is 00:17:42 simple activities are going to absolutely shape your morning. to feeling like a Christmas holiday-filled winter morning. Morning movement is something that I personally love. It just makes me feel so refreshed and so awake. And whether you prefer a morning or evening workout slash movement session, it's important to prioritize at least 15 minutes of your time to movement every single day. I encourage you to do any form of movement in the morning. Even if that means walking for a few minutes to boost start
Starting point is 00:18:16 your morning for the day and just get ready and feel awake. It's easy to not want to go to a gym and go workout.
