my dolls, welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jane Haley. I hope you all have been doing
amazing and lovely as always. I currently have a sinus infection, so I am sorry if I sound like a mouse.
But let's get straight into the weekly review. So this week, I have been pretty busy, busy yet
pretty busy prepping for new york fashion week new york fashion week is next week and i am so excited
i leave in a few days and i am so ready i am very excited to watch some of my favorite shows
and meet new people see lots of friends and get all dressed up so i am very very excited
Other than prepping for Fashion Week, I am more than excited for pumpkin spice season.
I have no shame.
I love myself a nice pumpkin spice, but you know what?
Starbucks?
No.
Starbucks was not it this year.
I was so excited, counting down the days for their pumpkin spice cold brew to be back and their latte,
and it just tasted so bad.
I don't know what's wrong with it this year.
year, but it tastes so bad and I'm so sad because I truly was very, very excited. So my mom and I
are very bummed about that and we instantly bought a espresso machine and now we're going to do it
ourselves. Another thing that I did this week is I went to Betsy Johnson's birthday party, which is
so cool. She was celebrating her 80th birthday and my friend Asia and I went together. We seriously
had the best time in the birthday party was so 2000s and I was just so there for it. They had the old
retro TVs. They had everyone in a lot of color and they had little pink cupcakes, vegan burgers
and corn dogs. And the vegan burgers are the best vegan burgers I've ever had. Literally so good.
But it was so fun. I seriously had such a fun time.
You can see lots of photos from our birthday party over my Instagram.
As you guys know, I love myself a classic French tip, but this week I changed it up and I went with
Ambre.
And I'm obsessed.
I feel like this is the most perfect, clean, classy nail and I'm obsessed with it.
I'm definitely going to get it from now on, but I think it was healthy for me to change up
my nail routine.
I've been sticking to the same thing for like over a year now.
And going with the Ombray, I honestly think it looks just so classy.
And I was so happy that I made the switch because I needed something new with my nails.
And then I also went to Air One this week.
And I know they opened a new location in Beverly Hills, which I'm very excited to try that one.
But I tried their mermaid smoothie and the strawberry glaze smoothie.
and they were both so amazing. I was literally obsessed, but I never thought I was needing a
smoothie so much of my life till after I tried the strawberry glaze. The strawberry glaze smoothie,
I understand. I understand the hype. Speaking of hype, which is this episode's about,
but literally I never understood it until now because this was the best smoothie I've ever
had. It has seamoss in it, hyalodronic acid, amazing health benefits on top of tasting, so good.
Another thing I did this week was I went to pause studios. My friend Stephanie and I went for a little
fun spa day. So we had multiple different services done and my favorite was definitely the
infrared sauna. I feel like after a sauna, I just feel so refreshed and I feel like I feel so refreshed and I
feel so like the toxins are out of my body and I just feel good. It's also nice and comforting
inside the sauna. Very warm and toasty, but it was so nice. I loved it. But we did cryotherapy.
Also adore cryotherapy. It's one of my favorite things to just like relax my muscles. But
cryotherapy, infrared sauna, ice bath, float therapy, and I think light therapy. So those were
all the services that we did at pause studios. Also, I searched up why their name is called pause,
because I just didn't really understand it. They named their studio pause because they want you to
put your thoughts on pause and just relax. I'm like, I love that so, so much. That is the cutest name.
And this week I also went downtown. Of course, I love myself a little downtown brunch,
but when I was downtown walking back to my car, I saw a little clothing pop-up.
So, of course, I had to stop in.
And when I was shopping around, I asked one of the ladies who seemed to be running the pop-up,
oh, how much is this dress?
And she's like, oh, it's free.
And I'm like, what do you mean it's free?
And she was like, we're just having a clothing exchange, but we're wanting people to, like,
stop by and can take anything they want.
I'm like, are you kidding me?
This is my dream. I love myself some clothes and oh my gosh, it was free and I was like, wait,
are you sure? And she's like, yes, take whatever you want. So they had a little tip jar. So of course,
I left them a nice tip. I just thought that was the sweetest thing that they had that. And I found
amazing vintage dresses and pieces. So I'm just so excited. One of them I'm wearing to New York
Fashion Week. So stay tuned. It was a really cute.
longer black dress and it had little bows on the bottom. I'm like, are you kidding me? Anyways,
other than prepping for New York Fashion Week next week, I have been having a very busy yet pretty
week. I may or may not have an episode next week because I will be in New York. But no matter what,
when I get back, I'm going to have a New York Fashion Week episode, which we will cover everything
on the show's events and all New York Fashion Week talk.
So I'm very excited for that.
Guys, moving on to current obsessions.
So my current obsession is the Airwana Karma Baker chai cookies.
They are so good.
They are vegan, gluten-free.
So, you know, my stomach can definitely tolerate those very good.
I have been stocking the fridge with the Karma Baker cookies.
Another obsession is the idea of fall.
I have been loving the idea of fall.
much, you know, I have been looking on Pinterest. I really need to revamp my fall mood board.
I feel like last years I didn't have a very, very good inspo board. And this year, I need to do it
better than ever. So my Pinterest will be filled with fall inspo today. Another current obsession
is neutral in ombray nails. As I said, I got my ombray nails done and I feel like these are very
natural looking. I love neutral colors, but a nice little natural nail is so gorgeous to me.
But the ombray nails are my everything right now. Okay, guys, next step is my goal of the week.
So my goal of the week is to go to sleep early. I swear, I really have been going to sleep quite late
the past few months, and I really want to get back on my sleep schedule. I feel like I've been working
really hard lately, and that has caused me to stay up late. I want to wake up early again. 5 a.m. is my
favorite time to wake up, so I just want to start doing that again. Okay, another goal of the week,
which I really, really do want to make sure this happens is get less blue light and screen time.
I have been on my phone and on my computer emailing and doing a lot for in New York Fashion Week,
but my eyes are literally hurting now from looking at the screen for so long.
So I have been wearing blue light glasses, which are so, so important to wear.
And I have them linked over my modem and over my Amazon storefront.
Lastly, another goal of the week is to deep clean my bathroom.
I feel like my bathroom could really use a nice.
re-decorated and just cleaning so I really want to clean my bathroom redecorate it and I also want to
paint my room white I am moving soon as you guys know I have been waiting until the summer was
out of the way and it's less busy so I will be searching for apartments very very soon and I'm very
excited so for the time being I am here I do want to kind of redecorate my room and I already have
some new room decor and house decor for my new apartment. So I am so excited for that, but definitely
just revamping my space is something that I want to do. Okay, a self-lift question to ask yourself.
What feedback forced me to grow recently, even if it was hard to hear in the moment? I love that so much
because I really do believe that constructive criticism and feedback from others is so important
because it can really help you grow in the outcome.
If someone says, oh, you should put yourself out there and try yoga.
And let's say you take that class and you were so happy that you did,
that is really good feedback that was from someone that helped you grow.
Okay, a quote from my five-minute journal.
Attention is the most basic form of love.
By paying attention, we let ourselves be touched by life
and our hearts naturally become more open and engaged.
I love that so much and I think that quote is just so true.
Okay, an Apple podcast review. So this Apple podcast review is from Trini. First of all, her title is
My Comfort podcast, which I think is so, so sweet. But Trinie said, Jaden is the absolute sweetest
person ever and every episode feels like a little chat with your best friend. I want to personally say
thank you to Jaden for boosting my motivation, self-confidence, and mood. Busy yet pretty never fails to
cheer me up when I'm having a bad day, and I'm so grateful for it.
it. Thank you for all you do, Jaden. I and the many others love and appreciate you so, so much.
Sending lots of virtual hugs, X-OX-X-O, Trini.
Trini, thank you so, so much. That was seriously the sweetest Apple podcast review.
I am just so thankful to hear that Busy Yet Pretty does really impact you guys and boost your
motivation, your self-confidence. That all makes me so happy because all I want in this podcast is to
help other gals and busy and pretty listeners to feel more confident and happy and love the life
that they live. So thank you so much for your sweet review and I am so glad that you enjoyed the
podcast. Lastly, an affirmation of the week. I attract all that I deserve. I love that affirmation
so much and now it's time to get into today's episode. So today's episode, we are going to cover
all things wellness, beauty, fashion, products, brands, all of that, are they worth the hype or not?
This is all based off of my personal opinion on these products, brands, and items, and I do not want you to judge these items based off of my opinion.
And everyone has their own different preferences, but this is just my opinion.
I put in my story and asked you guys, what do you want my opinion on?
guarding all things beauty, wellness, fashion, brands, products.
A lot of the answers, actually I wanted to try, but I have not tried yet, so I'm only
reviewing things that I've tried myself.
So let's get straight into, is it worth it or not?
There is lots of mixed opinions on juices, but personally, I say yes.
They can definitely add up if you're buying a juice individually at the store or at a juice
bar. So I really recommend juicing yourself. It doesn't necessarily mean you're going to feel
great and energized after drinking a juice, but it's feeling yourself eternally with healthy
vitamins for the long run. And one of my favorite juices that I truly do see a difference on
is celery juice. Whenever I drink celery juice, my skin truly looks so much more glowing
and it truly just makes my skin not break out. So I really do. So I really do. I really do. I really,
do like celery juice, but I would say juicing is 100% worth it.
Okay, next step, a facial ice roller.
Yes and no, I would say, honestly.
I mean, I love my facial ice roller, but would I recommend it to others?
Yes, for sure.
But what I say has a huge impact?
No.
But I honestly feel like it truly does depuff my face, but I don't really notice a huge difference,
but it just feels really good where it feels like my
my skin is more, you know, tight and not as puffy in the morning. So I do say, yes, I totally recommend it,
but it's more like a temporary depuff. Okay, another thing is gizu oil. Again, not a yes or no.
I literally love gizu hair oil. I completely recommend it. I'm obsessed with it. But I do think
there are great and expensive alternatives that work just as well. I don't think this
product provides more than something else can do. So it's really a personal preference. Okay, dry brushing.
A hundred percent yes, you need a dry brush. Getting a dry brush, I swear, has helped my legs
feel so, so smooth. I tend to get these little bumps of my legs, and it's almost like
they are irritated, like a breakout, but they're not noticeable. But of course, I notice them,
and I realized dry brushing my legs before I get in the shower, a few times a week,
week has helped my legs become so soft and have gotten rid of all those little bumps. And I know that
it helps smooth out legs, help the cellulite. Cellulite is gorgeous. Everyone has it. But it helps
enhance a nice smooth leg. Okay, another one is Air One. I received a lot of questions. Is Airwon
worth it or not? And here's another one where I'm tied with a yes and a no. If you don't know what
Airwant is. It's a grocery store. They have multiple different locations in L.A. It's very fancy, very clean,
and I would say lots of rich individuals and celebrities shop here as well. It's honestly just a
luxury store. It's $20 for a little carton of strawberries, so that can kind of give you an idea.
But I have been to Airwan many times, and if I'm being honest, yes, it's definitely. It's definitely
worth the hype for sure. Regardless of how much money I'm making, I can't see myself shopping there
for regular day groceries. I feel like I can get the exact same things somewhere else and put the
rest of that money into something like donating or a good cause. But is Airborne worth the hype?
100%. Because I like to look at it as a specialty store, I feel like a lot of grocery stores
do not carry many of the things that Airwond carries. You can't really find seymoss or
Buffalo cauliflower, a huge selection of different types of non-dairy milks at grocery stores. So
I feel like it's a really good specialty store because they have a lot of things that other
grocery stores don't have. I would say it's 100% worth all the love that people give it.
D. York lip oil. Don't get me wrong. I am a Diorg girl.
I literally adore Dior, but no.
I think there is so, so much hype around this lip oil, and don't get me wrong.
I literally love the product and I have multiple different colors in the lip oil.
But people have made this product to be looked at as uncomparable and no other product like this.
But I think there's so many other products that are so similar to this, just like the Glossier lip gloss or the Ulta lip oil.
Those are some inexpensive options that work just as great, but I do love the Dior lip oil.
Literally do not get me wrong.
I do not think that it is worth all the hype that is surrounded around this lip oil.
Another one is vintage heels.
No, they are not worth it because let me say they may be the cutest shoes you ever seen.
Don't get me wrong.
But often thrifted or vintage shoes will literally crumble on you.
crumble. And I'm not just saying that it will break or something. A vintage heel when I've worn it.
Literally absolutely crumble in a million different pieces while I was walking. And that's happened
multiple times to me and other people I know. So, and due to the materials being too old is why
it's crumbling or breaking really easily. So I do not think that vintage heels are worth all the
hype, so definitely be cautious when buying vintage heels.
Okay, next step is Air One Smoothies.
As you've heard, my current obsessions had to do with an Air One smoothie,
but Airwant smoothies are around $15 to $20, which is quite a lot of money for a smoothie,
I would say.
I mean, I'm one to make my smoothies at home.
So it's definitely not an every day when I buy myself a smoothie from Airwan,
unless it has some literal curing ingredients inside the smoothie,
then I don't think a smoothie is worth $20.
But that doesn't mean I don't buy them because I literally do.
I've tried a few from Airwain and the only one I feel like is 100% worth every penny.
But this is also from preference because this is like taste-wise is the strawberry glaze one
because it just is so good.
It has coconut, strawberry glaze.
It just tastes amazing.
But I do think the Airwant smoothies, they have a few that are definitely worth it.
Okay, next step is blue light glasses.
100%.
I swear, I am on my computer and phone quite a bit, but using blue light glasses has truly helped me get less headache from looking at my phone.
It literally causes health problems for looking at blue light.
I feel like blue light glasses make looking at a computer screen more bearable as well and not so straining on your eyes.
so I definitely think that blue light glasses definitely deserves all the hype.
I also don't enjoy the word hype, but I can't really think of another synonym for it,
so it's definitely worth all the talk.
It's worth all the talk, that's what I'm going to say.
Okay, cryotherapy and saunas.
Yes, again, definitely worth all the talk, really good for your muscles and flushes out toxins.
I don't think it needs to be done all the time, but if you have the opportunity to, I definitely
would because I would do it as much as I could. I love it. I don't go very often, but whenever I do get
it done, I really do think it helps my body. And it's really nice to have a good reset.
Okay, next step is a facial steamer. No, I do not think a facial steamer is worth all the talk.
I definitely think it's beneficial because when I go get facials done, I feel the facial
steamer and it really does open your skin, open your pores, and it's very good for you.
But I have one and I never use it because it's a process to set up.
It's not very easy.
It takes a while and I feel like it's not really worth all the talk that people have talked about facial steamers for.
But if you do have the extra time to set it up every day and actually use it, then definitely go for it.
Seamoss.
Okay, so let me just say I've never tried seamoss just as a spoon for.
as you're supposed to try it and take it. But I've had seymosses smoothies, but I've never really had it alone or consistently
So I can't really make a
Judgment off of it, but I know it is really good for your health
I'm thinking about getting one of the sea masses from Irwan because I've heard those ones are really good and
Once I try it, I will make a video telling you guys how I like it over my TikTok
Okay guys next up is Starbucks which I
Everyone knows of, and I'm giving my very unwanted opinion.
But no, I don't think Starbucks is worth the talk.
It's very, very popular.
And don't get me wrong.
Again, I literally go to Starbucks every single day.
And I'm not saying every other day, every single day.
I go to Starbucks with my mom and my grandma.
And we have our little post-lunch chat drinking Starbucks.
So I'm not hating on Starbucks.
Literally love it.
I just feel Starbucks is very convenient and easy to get on the go.
The drinks aren't bad, but I just think that the quality isn't as good as small cafes.
Okay, next step is Supergoop.
Yes, I think Supergoop is worth all the talk.
It has the best consistency for a sunscreen, which is why I like it so much.
It's not oily and it's very smooth.
It works really nice as a primer.
But the only downfall is I've heard that there's possible,
hazardous ingredients inside Supergoop, so I've been laying off Supergoop lately, and I know Trader Joe's has a very good
duplicate, literally the exact same ingredients as the Supergoop one, but I definitely think that Supergoop is
worth all the money. Okay, next step is Oliplex. Yes, literally out of all the shampoos and
conditioners, my hair feels the very best, very soft, and the thickest when I use Oliplex. As much as I
love Oliplex. I have heard that there are some hazardous ingredients as well. I'm a little concerned
about that and haven't used it as much lately, but I do think that Olplex is 100% worth it. Next step is
collagen vitamins worth the hype. Yes, I think it's so worth the hype. Protein powders, vitamins,
gummies, powders, jelly sticks. There's lots of different food and supplement products that collagen
can come in, but I do think it's 100% worth the price if you're looking to grow your hair and
nails, and it also makes your skin really good, but I swear, I've had to literally lay off the
collagen because my nails were growing way too fast where I was having to get a fill only two
weeks after my nails were done instead of four weeks. I've laid off the collagen, but yes,
it is so worth it. Okay, next up is facials. Yes, I think facials are 100% worth it personally.
I don't upkeep facials, but whenever I do get a facial, it feels like my skin is completely reset and just so, so nice.
So I do think facials are 100% worth it, and if you have the time to get one, definitely do.
Next step is Skims.
As you know, Skims is the most amazing loungewear, different types of shapewear and a ton of different other types of bodywear.
but they are amazing. I love skims. I completely recommend it. I feel like the quality is so, so nice. There are many similar items that skims carries that are inexpensive alternatives, but I truly do feel like skims is worth the talk because of the quality, and I just really recommend skims.
Next up is the simple modern cup. 100%. All worth the talk. Literally love it.
It keeps cold for so long and it's durable. It's cute. My favorite one is the 32 ounce, which is very big. It's
literally a huge water bottle, but I love it because it keeps cold for so long. I haven't linked
over my Amazon storefront if you want to get one. Okay, next step is Bloom Nutrition.
I feel like there's so many TikTok's about Bloom Nutrition, Superfood Powder, and I am going to give my
true opinion, which is there is a lot of hype around this product. It's a really good way to get
vitamins in and it tastes great. So yes, I would say it's worth the hype. But the powder has stevia
in it so I can't drink it often because stevia triggers headaches to me. I do think it's worth
the hype because it is a really good way to get vitamins in. Next step is the erytsia body suit.
Yes, I think the erytsia body suit is worth it, although I think the ala-a-lawyit.
is so much better, which I know I'm switching onto a different thing, but I do think the al-O-1
is so much more comfortable. The Ritsia bodysuit and the al-a-body suit have two different materials,
and the al-Alo soft body suit is the most comfortable thing I've ever, ever worn. Honestly, I'll talk
and hype to alo. Okay, lastly is macha. Yes, and let me explain why. A lot of you guys ask me
questions about macha and say, oh, this doesn't taste good. What am I doing wrong? So,
there's multiple different grades of matcha, but there is culinary mostly used for things such as
smoothies, cakes, baking, or big chain cafes such as Starbucks will use culinary grade because
it comes with a lot and it's very inexpensive. And then there's the ceremonial grade,
which is more expensive and comes with a very little amount. Because I've had matcha for so
many years I can taste the difference between the two. Often the culinary grade is packed with sugar,
such as Starbucks uses matcha love, but ceremonial grade matcha is a true form of matcha, and I really
think that if you want to try match match and have the real benefits of matcha to get the ceremonial
grade, but the ceremonial grade has a very, very good taste to me, but a lot of people may not like
the taste, but I really recommend sweetening it with honey. And also match is super-brancho.
beneficial because it works just as well as coffee does giving you so much energy, but without having
a crash or any jitters. So I really think matcha is 100% worth it and it definitely beats coffee to me.
Thank you guys so much for listening to today's episode. I hope you guys had a lovely time
listening to what is worth it, what's worth the talk slash hype, hate the word hype,
but what's worth the talk?
And you know what?
I hope this encourages you to try some new products and see what you like.
