Starting point is 00:00:10 Hello, my dolls. Welcome back to the Busy Yet Pretty Podcast. I'm your host, Jaden Haley. I'm looking so forward to today's episode because I have been non-stop talking about this topic for the past week and this is something I've always lived by and I'm really excited to share it with you guys. So without further ado, let's get into today's weekly review. So this week, I have been working at cafes a lot, which I found myself to be so much more productive. I feel like a lot of people can agree. on this where we work better outside of our home or a typical office space and for me, I work so much better when I'm working around people. It kind of motivates you just like a workout class where if you were to take a workout class, you're going to probably work out better and try harder seeing other people because it motivates you to work.
Starting point is 00:01:00 So I feel like that's something that I've been doing a lot lately is working on my work at cafes or in public. Another thing I've been doing is really trying to enjoy summer. I feel like I keep forgetting because I'll be working or I'll be occupying myself and I'm like, wait, it's summer. Let me try to relax a bit more. So I've been really trying to incorporate relaxing time outside tanning and overall just trying to enjoy summer. Another thing this week is I've been really trying to prioritize activity and trying to really prioritize movement. I have been really feeling a lot better when I've prioritized my movement.
Starting point is 00:01:39 And if you feel sluggish or maybe you feel like really tired, I really motivate you guys to go try to work out a bit and try to get more movement in because that can be such a help in trying to energize you and feel better. Another thing this week is I've been really trying to pinpoint what brings me joy. I really tried to figure out what is making me the happiest and how can I begin to incorporate that more into my daily life. So that's what I've been up to this week. Moving on to my current obsessions. My current obsession is walking. I literally love walking lately. I used to walk under a thousand steps a day because I was working all the time and I realized how much it was making me
Starting point is 00:02:25 just feel so sluggish. So I started walking about 10,000 steps a day and let me just tell you, It feels so good and I feel so much more awake, energized, and happier. So walking has definitely been a current obsession for me, as well as being outside, listening to summer playlist in the sun. I have been trying to curate a really good summer playlist that I can listen to while laying in the sun, and it truly just makes me feel like summer. Another current obsession for me at this moment, which I feel relates perfectly to this episode, but is to get refocused and not let outside life and peers around me distract me from my goals.
Starting point is 00:03:04 I think it's so important to stay focused and don't let things distract you, where I've been really trying to lean into that this week, and it's made me feel so much better and productive. Moving on to the goal of the week. My goal of the week is to start reading more. I have been reading The Mountain as you, and I swear I've already highlighted so much in the book so far. It just is so motivating in a book I really love.
Starting point is 00:03:28 I really want to try to be consistent reading it and finish the book by the end of the week. Another goal of the week is to plan a solo trip. I don't know where or if this is even going to go through, but if I have time, I would love to plan a little summer solo trip for myself. I've been trying to brainstorm some places, maybe Hawaii or something. I usually would pick a city, but since I've lived in the city for a year now, I feel like I want to kind of go somewhere relaxing, but we will see I will update you guys. So if you are thinking about a solo trip, I encourage you guys to take one this summer.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Another goal of the week is to sunbathe for at least five minutes daily. It feels so good to get daily sun in and to lay out. And I have found it to literally increase my mood and just feel so much better when I lay out in the sun, which is where five minutes daily laying in the sun is so essential in my daily routine. My last goal of the week is to journal and script more for manifesting. I always manifest so much when I actually script and journal and that is something that really helps me manifest my reality and I truly feel like I can tap into feeling those emotions when I journal. So I definitely want to start journaling and scripting more for manifesting. Moving on to an affirmation.
Starting point is 00:04:48 What's meant for me will always attract to me. I love that so much because it's It is so true. What is meant for you will attract for you. If you get an opportunity, you're giving it because the universe knows you have potential and the universe knows you are able to do this task. Start saying yes. Start taking on opportunities that scare you.
Starting point is 00:05:09 I promise you, fear is temporary and your future is forever. Moving on to a challenge. Take a step towards one of your fears and you know what fear you have in your mind. this could be maybe applying to a new job so just do some research on this job take one step closer to your fear and that will help you overcome the fear by just taking one step at a time next step is a self-love question to ask yourself how do you impact others that is an ultimate reflection of yourself i love that question so much because it really allows us to think how do we treat others because how we treat others is a reflection of ourself if you are giving positivity to others and giving the motivation and happiness, that is how you view yourself. Unlike someone maybe who's mean to you or rude to you, that is a reflection of themselves. Always remember how people act is a reflection of them.

Without further ado, let's get into today's episode. You are a product of your environment. And when you hear the word environment, you might not understand quite what I'm meaning, but environment is what you surround yourself in. It doesn't mean what city you're in, doesn't mean what house you're in, it's what you surround
Starting point is 00:07:23 yourself in overall in your life. And yes, unfortunately, not all of us are able to control all parts of our environment such as our home life, school life, or work situation. But even in those uncontrollable situations, you're still able to control certain aspects in those situations. That can include the way you partake, react, and internalize your environment. Think about those three words. Partake, react, and internalize. You are able to control your environment, or at least most of your
Starting point is 00:07:55 environment. And when you hear the quote, you are a product of your environment. Product means you. As how the word product is referring to outcome, it's referring to you. In simpler words, what you surround yourself with, how you partake, and how you react will produce the outcome of you. In regarding environment, environment can be your friends, family, media, what you can consume. And as much as you want to deny the truth, you will become who and what you surround yourself with. In the back of your head, I know you're thinking of a specific person that you know isn't good for you, but you don't want to let them go, or a certain opportunity. But I promise you what you partake in and what you consume and what you surround yourself in is the product of you, and that's what you will become. A good example is if you don't like partying but you found a new group of friends who all party,
Starting point is 00:08:48 as much as you do not like partying throughout time, you will most likely begin partying because that is the norm in your environment you chose to surround yourself in. You have to fully understand and drill this in your brain that who you choose to surround yourself with you will eventually become. Think about people in life, such as your friends, your coworkers, your family. Do you want to become them? ask yourself that do you want to become them and especially think about the specific people that you hang around the most would you be okay becoming them that is who you will become if you choose to
Starting point is 00:09:26 continue surrounding yourself with maybe you're thinking of a few co-workers that you work with or people at school of course you cannot quit school or quit your job just to not be around them but you have the beautiful opportunity to take control of your environment, where it's now in your hands, whether you choose to let them in and have access to you in your life. You could be surrounded by the worst people at school, you could be surrounded by the worst co-workers at school, but that doesn't impact your environment
Starting point is 00:09:57 because you have the option to not let them into your bubble or have access to you. Think of your personal environment as a bubble. Do you want your bubble popped by a negative person? No. I saw this quote the other day and it was so unbelievably true. And it said, if you hang around five smokers, you'll become the sixth. If you hang around five successful people, you'll become the sixth.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Show me your friends and I'll show you your future. Choose your circle of influence wisely. I literally love that so much because every single bit of it was true. You will begin to reflect what. what is influencing you. If you do not want to become the people you hang around, then it's in your hands to not hang out with them anymore. Again, hang around five smokers, you'll become the six.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Hang around five successful people, you'll become the six. Stop trying to justify to yourself that the people you surround yourself with and the media you consume is okay. You know, deep down, if the people you're surrounding yourself with and the media you're consuming is good for you or not. You are not dumb. So stop acting dumb. You are so unbelievably smart, so why are you self-sabotaging yourself and trying to justify to yourself that what you are doing is okay?
Starting point is 00:11:17 You are so much better than the negative things that you are consuming and the negative people that you're choosing to hang around. Starting point is 00:12:42 Influence is so strong and you have to surround yourself by the people you want to become. Or maybe you haven't met those right people yet who you want to become and want to surround yourself with. Wouldn't you much rather be alone? Consume media online that is positive rather than hang around people who are bringing you down, making you feel unmotivated and isn't allowing you to grow? I would much rather be alone so I can work on myself rather than try to just fit in with a group of people who do not want to see me succeed or motivating me to become the best version of me. So if you haven't met those right people yet in your life, then watch people online, follow people online that you want to become. If you want to become a really successful doctor, follow those doctors on social media, watch their work, watch their lifestyle.
Starting point is 00:13:30 If you want to become a really successful businesswoman, go watch videos, go watch vlogs, go follow girls who are also successful businesswoman. That is surrounding yourself with the environment you need. Unfollow the girl who keeps posting negative things or stop following people who are constantly ranting on social media. Don't get me wrong, nobody's perfect and we all have her days, but the people in the media that you allow and give your time to should be positive, uplifting and motivating the majority of the time. Of course, you can watch those story time videos of sad things, but think about this. If you're watching 24-7 all negative things on social media, you will begin feeling negative. But if you start watching all positive things most of the time, you will begin feeling positive.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Take control of your life. What are you waiting for? Do you want to become sad, negative, sluggish? full of drama and just nowhere in life? Or do you want to become the highest version of you, reach your full of potential, see the world in a positive lens, and uplift others?

When it comes to taking control of your environment, maybe you can't help to see your negative co-workers because they work the same shifts as you or you have to see the rude
Starting point is 00:16:16 people at school because they're in your classes. Again, yes, maybe they're in your physical environment, but they don't have to be in your mental environment. This is your bubble. They don't have to be in your bubble. This is your chance to take control of how you partake and react. If the people around you are gossiping, are you going to partake? No, why would you? Why would you surround yourself in that? If the people around you are complaining how nothing good happens to them, are you going to agree with them and say, oh, I know I feel the same way, nothing good happens to me? No. Whether you agree with them or not. If someone's complaining how hard their life is, but your life is going great, you're not going to agree with them.
Starting point is 00:17:01 But it's really easy to have an automatic response, letting you know you agree with them to almost give some sort of sympathy to them, because we want others to feel comfortable. We want others to do well. And of course, if you want to sympathize with them, it's easy to say, I know, I agree, I feel the same way. But you have to remember, there are other ways to sympathize with someone, than dimming your candle to match theirs.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Support them. Give them hope. but do not knock down yourself to help them. If you motivate them and leave them with some sort of motivation, you both are leaving that situation and that conversation feeling happier and motivated. But if you say, oh, I agree with you, life's so hard, you both are leaving that conversation in situation negative and sad. It's in your hands to choose the way you want to partake and react.
Starting point is 00:17:52 How do you expect to live the lifestyle you dream of and become the person you want to be if all you do is put yourself in unhealthy and negative environments and partake and react the ways you do. You're so much better than this. If you're the smartest person in the room, move to another room. Again, surround yourself with people with more experience than you who are living the life that you aim to have. That will allow you to grow. Staying still, staying complacent, being okay with feeling comfortable, will never allow you to grow. Surrounding yourself in a different room with people who have more experience than you, who are smarter than you, and who are living the life that you want to live, will allow you to grow. So be mindful of what you're consuming. I don't care if you're watching trash TV because you think it's fun,
Starting point is 00:18:42 but don't watch it 24-7. If all you do is come home after working watch trash TV, how is that going to help you grow? I'm not telling you not to watch trash TV.
