I was expecting like some, a big announcement, or big like... Kidion. Yeah, yeah, some cool reveal. But now... Just disaffirm. disappointment. Yeah, just more disappointment. Yeah. So this is, Gideon's probably 100th time on here now. I think this, yeah, this is a century of times on the podcast. Yeah, we just have some big, big news to unveil. So we thought it was definitely worthy of another show.

Yeah, of course. I mean, what the news we have to share? Oh, I mean, you guys are going to want to stay tuned. And it's right at the end. So you got to listen to the whole thing. About, yeah, it's big news on shadow banning. Yeah. Yeah. So no, we got another update. Oh, go ahead. Sorry. No. I don't want to know that. I was just going to jump in. Oh, yeah. Let's go. Let's go. So we just got back from the CRWM event. Yes, that was great. I like to say the acronym because I'm too stupid to say Colorado wins. Did you say, did you say acronym or aconym? It sounded like you said acronym, but I know what you meant.

Yeah. I like to say that acame. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, Coloradoans, that's not easy. You're pretty good at it. For responsible wildlife management. Look at that. I know.

Yeah, I've been working on that. But that was a great event. So many good people. I didn't know. We were driving out there. And it's not in the metropolitan of Denver. It's not in like a large city. So I'm like, we're driving by, you know, wide open planes.

I'm like, is anybody going to be out here for this thing? I don't think it's even big enough to be called a town. I think they call it a hamlet. It was a quaint little hamlet, though. What was the name of it again? Fountain or not found. No. So there was Cannon City.

And then there was Florence. It's Florence. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can City? Canyon. Oh, Canyon City, yeah. I can't hear, you can't talk something. But yeah.

Florence, right. And that was, I mean, it's got a cool little strip, you know, along there. We had breakfast when I got there. It was a whirlwind trip. If you're in the market for antiques. Yeah. That's a place to go. They got hella antique shops.

But it was, yeah, I mean, it was cool. So we go out and I'm like, I don't know. You know, and I saw, like, some pictures from the day before, and it looked like it was, like, in a horse arena. And I didn't see any big, I didn't even see where people sat. I just saw dirt. I think it was where Laramie was speaking.

And I'm like, God, dang, out here looking around, didn't see a ton of houses. I'm like, there's going to be no, I'm going to be talking to you and some guy, some farmer or rancher. And the farmer from Napoleon. That's pink man, I found cups of soap on the arrowhead. Yeah, so... In that shrink, where I found that the Sony arrowhead. I don't understand a word you just said. Oh, shit.

Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah. So that's what I was kind of expecting. And then we come around the horn there, and there is, like, tons of cars. There was a lot of people there. Stacked up? Yeah, it was good.

It was, man, I thought it was amazing. I thought the whole thing blew me away as far as how many people were there, how energized they were. So the seminar was good. I met. I knew a lot of people there, just like, you know, Bill from Iron Will Broadheads, great guy. Ray Livingston had met him. Laramie was there. Jeremy from what's it calls the call company he spoke right after me yeah Jeremy hodge I think

I can't remember the call company but anyway great people and then of course you know the guys the usual suspects there are Dan gates from Coloradoans for responsible wildlife management and howell it was it was sick so did a seminar oh and Mike and Brenda were there who had originally asked me if I'd go and help out Mike and Brenda Powell who I just just love. There's great people. But yeah, it was it was incredible. The seminar went well. I had no idea what I was going to say like always as we talked about last time. Just kind of like, well, I'm just going to open my mouth and we'll see what comes out, which is kind of risky with me. But it has gone well. Since we've already had to start this podcast over it.

Based on my first sentence. No, we didn't. Oh, I mean, yeah, exactly. And then we went to the banquet and And then, yeah, it was, oh, God, yeah, gave Bob Holder that 50-year award for being a game warden for 50 freaking years, just a stud and his son, Zach's amazing. Super cool guy. Also a game warden, or they call him something else probably. And then Bob's wife was there. And also Zach's wife and daughter. So great stuff.

For the people that don't know, you and Bob go way back. Yeah. He's checked in everywhere, you think? Or just about? No, I think every bear. Yeah. Every bear I've killed there. And I've been, you know, for the last, it's been a pretty good run, but I've killed a bull, buck, and bear every year in Colorado for a while.

So pretty cool that you were able to give him that award. Yeah. Oh, that was amazing. I love that guy. And what a, what a service for 50 years to provide for that community. Yeah. And he's generally just loves what he does. So, I mean, I know people think, oh, game war and they're going to, looking for,

things to get you in trouble on or bust you on or catch you on or whatever but you know you know I I don't know I just that's not how I look at maybe when I was a kid I was nervous right and just like when you're driving you get pulled over you're like oh my god wouldn't who knows what they're going to they could write me up for anything right every time I go through TSA I'm like put that bomb in my back exactly I mean right are you that's I didn't do that so that's not mine Yeah, those are my pants. These aren't my pants. Yeah.

Yeah. So, I mean, but with him, it's always just been, it's been nothing but positive. So, yeah, I'm, I'm, that was, that was probably, probably the highlight between that and, uh, all the kids. So many kids. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Little, a little stud. He's starting his own YouTube channel. And, uh, just. I mean.

I cannot believe how squared away. And he had more money than I have in his wallet. Definitely more money than I have. He pulled out of his wallet. He had actually money. He did. I was wondering if those were fake $100 bills. I don't know, but how old was he?

He was 13 or 11? 13, I think. Yeah. And just so smart. Anyway, Passion, or Archer wants to film stuff, wants to, I don't know, he just loves, I don't know, loves the lifestyle. Lives and breathes it, sounds like. Oh, man. That was so cool.

But aside from him, there's also a bunch of other young boys, girls, everybody, just coming up, signing stuff, getting pictures. It was awesome. Yeah. I also wanted to go back to the seminar and highlight the guy that was hit by a drunk driver. Oh, I know. Told his story. Yeah, yeah.

Drunk driver's going 106 miles an hour hit him. And he's fought back hard from that. I think read my book or listened to it, but probably I think read it in the hospital. And yeah, I had a positive impact. And I don't know, just every person that I met, it was just a genuine interaction. And I'm just so thankful. I don't know, sometimes I get, you know,

you can get kind of jaded a little bit from social media. And you kind of focus on kind of the stupid shit or whatever, you just get into your routine of life. Yeah. And you forget about how lucky we are to just have those opportunities. Definitely. And I just, that just totally, totally, you know, I made a post or a number of posts about it because I took so many good

self-timing photos and videos somehow. But, and just mention that, but I do want to call that out here on the podcast too. It's like you forget just how just, I don't know, I'm just grateful and I never thought I'd ever have a platform where people would care what I said or have an ability to impact people like that. But I'm super thankful for it. That's, I mean, that's definitely my favorite part too of going to those things is just kind of seeing the positive impact that obviously nothing i say or do but can at least help tell your story to the people that are listening yeah i don't know i mean i don't want this to sound like a compliment but you get a lot of good photos and video so i hope that didn't come across positive let you get yourself tired

yeah i mean you can't really take a bad picture of me so that's probably it No, yeah, you're, I don't know. For some reason, Taryn today said, man, James has sure been a positive edition. And so I told her she needed to move out. Shout out to Taryn. But no. Always positive. Yeah.

Speaking of getting jaded on Instagram, I've got haters. What? Yeah. You have haters? I have haters. What'd you do? I ran an 11-minute mile. Oh, yeah.

I mean, I don't know how straight uphill, a thousand foot of gain in a mile and a half. I don't, that's pretty pathetic. I had a good, probably 15 people respond to my story and they were like, what did you walk half of it? Yeah. See, that's the thing. Everybody wants attention, right? It's just like, hey, well, how come nobody pays attention to what I do? But then when you get attention, it's usually negative.

Yeah. And then you're like, fuck. So then today I was like, all right, I'm going to go run a 5K, shut these people up. So I posted the story and it was like, I'm slow, which I am, but I'm not 11 minutes mile slow. Yeah. And then Macy responded to it was like, what's wrong with 11 minute mile? That's it I don't know. Yeah.

Fuck, I can't do anything. See? Now you made her feel bad. I quit. Yeah. I know. Yeah. So now you're an elitist.

Yeah. Right. Well, I've always been an asshole. Now I'm an elitist. So it's perfect. Yeah. All right. Macy, good job.

If you're just out there doing whatever. That's what I said. I mean, that's, well, I never put up times, but I hate when people, there's so many coaches from the couch or pros from the couch or everybody's got a fucking opinion. It's like, shut the fuck up. Just go do something. I don't care what time. Why do you got to comment?

Yeah, it doesn't even matter. That's what I was talking to Trude about this the other day because he's, you know, he just busted out that 249-11 marathon. But he put up some runs where it was like his, his mile average was 10 minutes. Yeah. You know? And I'm like, I'm glad you do that because most people stop their shit, rest, take off again, stop it when they get tired.

And then, of course, our pace looks good, but it doesn't mean anything. So he said, oh, yeah, well, that, when I did that 10-minute mile, he goes, I walked, I don't know, a mile or two miles with Alicia. and then he started running. So obviously his pace, you know, when he walked, it's like a 20-minute mile. And he's just like, I don't care. And who is?

Who does? When you go out just running by yourself, it's not a fucking race. You're not setting a PR every time. So people just need to chill out. I mean, that's what I, like, when people ask about running or whatever, I'm like, I walk when I want to. It makes it way more enjoyable. I walk all the time.

You don't have to hate it every time you go out. Sometimes I should be taking like a bird book. I'm just walking, looking around. In little binos? Yeah. And just a little notepad and writing down, I saw a double-breasted eagle or falcon. Let me get out my pocket binos. No, they're actually opticked up.

They got Swarovsky. They get serious about that shit. Swarovsky, yeah. Or is it a different brand I'm thinking of that's really big in the bird watching. I think Swarosky. I see them all the time out there. I'm like, God, you're not even killing anything. Should be bringing a BB gun.

Yeah, he just spent three grand, four grand on some binoes. But yeah, I mean, so half the time I'm out there and like, I don't, I don't, it doesn't even matter. Yeah. Just get out there. Just get in the fresh air. Yeah. Okay. Next.

Tomorrow we leave again. So we just got, we got back yesterday. A few minutes ago. Yeah. I finally got my back. bag back. Did you? Yeah. So that's positive. Well, it wasn't your camera and all that. No, I always have that with me. Yeah, yeah. Just closed and stuff. Yeah, so we just got back home for a day. Where are we going tomorrow? We're going to San Diego and I'm going to go to partake in some baseball games.

Have you ever been to a baseball game? Yeah. Back when I've done Boston three times. The night before the race is always a game at Finway. Yeah. And that's kind of a tradition. You go to see Boston or the Red Sox and yeah. So but I think I'm taking batting practice tomorrow. Did you know this? Are you actually?

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think so. That's pretty sick. I know. Yeah. Yeah.

So yeah, that'll be good for the foot off that plant foot on the back there. Turn the hips? Yeah. Pop the hips over. Did you play baseball? Yeah. Okay. So you won't look too bad.

I was thinking I'm not going to look like Riley Green. Do you know who that is? Yeah. You've been seeing him? He goes to wherever Tropicana Field he just put up the other day and fucking knocked a few out. Homer's in batting practice. That's a good old country boy though. Yeah, I know.

And he's thick, son. Yeah. He got a little weight behind it. And he played college football. Oh, yeah. So he's not just a scrub. But yeah, I don't know. I mean, every once in a while, you're like, oh, back in the day.

I got a hold of one one time. They're still talking about it, which isn't true. I did hit. I remember one time, so I played left field, left out, I know you're going to say, left field and batted second. Okay. Okay. Because I always got on base, even though. Yeah.

I don't know. I batting average was probably like zero zero one. But there's always a passball or drop third strike or something now. Anyway, so I batte a second got, but anyway, one time, we didn't have a fence. So the school back there was, I don't know how far. It seemed like it was a long way back. 650 feet. It was like to right center was our wood shop.

And then I think there was like a tennis court and right field, but I was batted right. So, I mean, I was usually going to the left field. Anyway, freaking popped one. Didn't, I remember I kind of didn't even like, I didn't even know what I did. But it just hit flush and it went a long way. But wasn't a homer. It was probably an out. Oh, well.

So anyway. So you could hit, but you couldn't catch playing left field. I had one diving. I remember one running diving catch somehow. And I don't even know because our baseball field had potholes and shit. Like you'd be sprinting and like one go down low. It's hard. But I remember I did.

There was like kind of like a line drive down the line. And I somehow dove and freaking caught. it. Well, anyway, yeah, I play baseball. Better than, I was a textbook pitcher. Could pitch, but I, I don't think I ever got on base. I don't think I got on base once. Oh, yeah. I could throw the ball, but yeah, a little disconnect there. So, yeah, we're going to some baseball games. You're taking batting practice, apparently. Yeah, that's what they say. Do we mention for who? No. Are we not supposed to? Oh, no, I think we can for the pirates. Paul Skeens. Yeah, yeah. So BP tomorrow, yeah, yeah, that's weird. Did you pack your,

batting gloves? No. Yeah, I don't, I'll just put like pine tar on my hands. You've seen, you've seen Happy Gilmore, right? Yeah. Are you going to stand in front of the machine and let it probably? Probably. I could maybe do that okay. I'd be good at that of that. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, so I don't know. I mean, I think I'm, they said BP's at four and I'm going to go. So maybe I'm just watching. No, you got to step in there. We'll see. They said something about they didn't know if you could go into the camera, though. So I'm taking BP too.

Yeah. Yeah. I told them. I said, you better have some people out in the stands to get all these balls. James is going to yard out. I mean. If you couldn't hit me, I bet, you know, you always say, God, if I could go back to high school at this size, I'm the same size. But people always say that.

So, yeah, if you could go back now, you'd just probably be able to just, crush the ball. Yeah, yeah. For sure. You know, if someone would give me an opportunity. Yeah. Yeah. I'd be playing in the big leagues.

So it's not because you just said it five minutes ago. Yeah. I guess we got some pro staff movement. So yeah, he, that's what I've heard. He went to, he was with Hoyt for a while. I think originally Matthews. if I remember the story correctly, Matthews originally,

then Hoyt for extended period, and then to PSC, now back to Hoyt. You know, I really don't give a fuck what people do, to be honest. I mean, if, yeah, I just want,

if this is good, I mean, I want people to be successful. I never want anybody to fail. And I love Hoyt's been great to me. Yeah, so, I mean, I've been with Hoyt since 2005. I have, they've,

and I can't even I couldn't even say something they didn't support me on so it's like it's awesome but yeah it's uh well they won't let you show the bow they're not supporting that

yeah that's probably on me I should just send that fucker back I'll tell you that right now that's really hard if it works out great I think PSC is uh yeah they've been up and down you know I was with PSC for a while

they made me the CRH blacktail bow did you ever know this I think I've heard this story. Yeah. So they made me the bow, broke three limbs in one season. So I was, I think they used the leftover stuff. No, I had a CRH Blacktail bow back in probably like, man, I don't know, 2012 maybe or 2011.

And no, what am I talking about? Shit, I've been with Hoy since 2005. So I think it must have been 2003 or four. A little, little off. God, I don't, I don't know. But yeah, so, you know, PSE was, they've been, they were one of the top three. It was, Hoyt's always been there, Matthews and then PSE. PSC's kind of dropped off lately.

So, you know, John went over there, I think about five years ago, got some buzz over there, which is good. You know, I want them all to be good. I just, with me, I just don't care what anybody does. I don't, I don't, you know, people, say, do you ever look at how other guys are working out or training for for the back country? I'm like, no. I could, I don't care what anybody does. It doesn't affect you. It doesn't affect me at all. And to be honest, you know, I mean, this is a business. Yeah. All of a sudden, if I didn't have a platform and I wasn't, you know, quote, promoting bow hunting in the right way or getting it done in the field,

they're not it's not a charity no it's a business all these sponsors would be yeah i got you have to earn your way i mean it's good when you feel welcome and you feel supported that's great but it's uh man you have to produce so all i want i just want people if they're happy at there if they're you know if they have bigger dreams and want to go chase them like i think john did when he went to p s e great i just doesn't matter to me if if it's good for him and them and it helped the brand perfect if coming back to Hoyt helps him and whatever, I still have to get it done. It doesn't change anything I have to do.

And it's like, nothing affects me. Nothing that anybody else does has any bearing in what I do. So I never even really pay attention. But yes, it's good to talk about. It's good. You know, there's a little bit of drama in the industry. It's cool. Whatever.

I mean, it's great. Got to talk about something. Got to fill this time somehow. Yeah. So yeah, I just hope he makes good shots, get a bunch of animals on the ground. Hoyt sells a bunch of bows. But more importantly, hope I do. The only person I actually care about, really, or want to try to like, I'm always rooting for 100%.

I mean, I'm rooting for everybody. But I mean, Joe. I want Joe to be successful just because I took him on his first bow hunt. So I got, I'm always like, want to make sure I'm always checking in how you shoot. how's the bow doing it? I know the bow is great. But yeah, I mean, I feel like I have just a super or a vested interest in how he's shooting and set up and ready for the hunt.

He's, I don't know, it's not like I need to do anything. He's freaking obsessed with this. But yeah, anybody else, whatever. I want him to get their bulls killed and be happy. It's awesome. Yeah, I understand that. I did want to shout out the knock performance podcast you just did just because it was a, You know, it's a separate podcast that you don't usually do.

And so if people hadn't listened to that, they should listen to it. I listened to it today on my way to the airport four times. How was it? I thought it was good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, you called in from your phone, which I know you probably hated.

Yeah, I don't. I like the in-person stuff for sure. I get that. And I think I mentioned that to him. Yeah, he's just a young guy. I think he works hard. Yeah. So just like I just got done saying, I want everybody to kick ass.

Yeah. You know, I'm not, I'm not rooting for anybody to fail out there. So, yeah, I just want him to be successful. And he'd asked me before, sent me a really nice message. I don't think I even responded to. So that was cool. God, I suck. But then just, I think recently he asked, or we got a question on the Q&A.

And they said, when is, you know, Cam Haines coming on or whatever? So I was like, fuck it, let's do it. Yeah. And so we did it. And yeah, I think he does a good job. I think he's working hard. And yeah, I want everybody to keep winning. I thought it was good.

My only other thing on my list is on our flight back. Have you watched the Janus documentary? No. You should. Really? I watch it on the plane. It's really good. Oh, yeah?

Yeah. I mean, I know you like documentaries like that. Yeah. I've been watching. Have you watched a Tiger Woods one? Oh, yeah. You have? I love that documentary.

Yeah, HBO? Yeah. Yeah, it's so good. Oh, I was, I was, I mean, I listened to this, podcast called Founders. It's so good. The Founders podcast is good. Yeah.

Because Aaron Rogers went on that one, right? Did he? Or maybe not. No. I'm thinking of something else. No, this one talks about like the one I'm listening to right now is on Napoleon. Oh. And then I just got done listening to one.

Oh, and this other one I was, or the one I've got to actually I've already listened to Napoleon, but the one I'm listening to now is called. Well, that's it. But it's Rose Blumkin. is her name. Warren Buffett's whatever favorite business woman.

But she was like I think in Ukraine or somewhere somewhere Russia, I don't know, but poor as hell, left home at 13, got on a train, went 300 miles on the train, got off at this city,

went to this house with a shop there, and she said, could I work at your shop? She had six cents. And that beats the rock who says he had $7. That's his like come up story, which probably a lie. John Senez is 50 a day.

Yeah. Yeah. So whatever. But I actually believe her. Six cents. She goes and she said, could I work at the shop? And they said, well, no, we don't need any help. She said, well, could I stay here tonight?

They're like you're a kid. And she said, yeah, I don't have a place to say, I want to get, I want to get job and so they let her stay there and then she got up in the morning and clean the shop and so they just hired her she said they said okay hired her she worked there like three years as a shop manager she was 16 went to this bigger city went to this like this men's wardrobe place and or men's clothes as a salesperson and became manager of that shop somehow this whole thing ended up getting married then her husband came to the u.s she was left on her own they only had enough money for one ticket to the u.s somehow. She got to China somehow, got on a boat from China, a peanut boat. I guess I held

peanuts over, but got on that and came to the U.S. and then turned into this freaking business mogul. What is she worth now? I don't know. I don't know. I never got to the end of it yet. But she's just kicking ass at the shop. And like, I was listening to it and I was coming back from the doctor about, oh, your foot still broke, you stupid fuck. It's exactly the same as it's been for eight weeks. And she had gotten a car wreck broke her ankle when she was 96 and went into work, I think that day afterwards. And she was like, people was like, why are you here? She's like, what do you mean? Why wouldn't I be here? So this woman is legit. Anyway, this founder's podcast that talks about like Tiger, Jordan, Kobe, her, Napoleon, Alexander.

under the great and it's just crazy. I'm not to listen to it. Yeah, I love it. Good quality. Yeah, oh, awesome. Damn. No, it is awesome. I put a note.

But yeah, they talked about, I sent in the boys text yesterday about Tiger Woods's dad. Oh, yeah. Green Beret, you know, but I sent them. They always like, I think we've talked about it.
