Starting point is 00:00:00 Every step I take, I move my truth. Every time they tell me stop I use. Every comment hate that makes my feel. Gather up my energy and boom. I hear them talking, saying the way that I move it's so reckless. That is a part of my mind I've been blessed with. Giving my blood so I am relentless. This is the Keep Hammering Collective, the great questions, stupid answers edition.
Starting point is 00:00:21 You guys provided the questions. I sent them to J-Dog. BDJ. Gideon. And now I'm going to have some stupid answers for these great questions. Okay. Before we get into the guest questions, I had a couple of my own. Oh.
Starting point is 00:00:43 I got a three-piece f***erickle for you. Oh, okay. It's only fair you have to answer them. Yeah. Okay. S-Hickr-Kill, gangster rap, country, classic rock. Let's see. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Okay. Um, yeah, I'm gonna gangster rap. It's a lot of fun. Uh, good time. Always down for a good time. Um, I'm gonna marry country. I mean, come on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I gotta have that. Yeah. And then, yeah, we gotta get rid of classic rock. So. Okay. Yeah. Next. Fairly easy.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Okay. Mary Kill 10Ks, marathons, 100-mileers. Ooh. 10Ks, 100 marathons, or 100-milers. Let's see. Oh, yeah, I mean, I don't care at all about 10-Ks.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Yeah, but you, okay, yeah. But you just said before, like, they hurt just as bad because you're pushing the whole time. Yeah, they're terrible. Does it kill them? Yeah, I mean, but, I mean, a lot of people are doing marathons. so anyone can do a fucking 10K. That doesn't make you that cool.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Dang it. If you're fast as hell, yeah. But just for a regular person doing a 10K, I mean, it's good, it's good exercise. It's probably a good accomplishment for some. I'm a marathon definitely hurts, but it's cool to do like Boston, some of the epic ones.
Starting point is 00:02:30 So I'm still like that. And then the hundreds are. You know, those are the icons. That was Larry's idea. Yeah, that's a good one. Oh, it's good one? It's good? No, it's mine. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:02:41 So we'll, I think we'll, I don't know, let me think. Who do I want to marry out of that? I guess we'll have to marry the marathon. And then, yeah, we'll f-hundred miles. The shit out of the hundred miles. Yeah, we'll bend them over.
Starting point is 00:03:02 And then, yeah. Those hundred-mileers have been, naughty. You've been bad. Call me daddy. Oh, I did ask her if she'd want to be on a podcast. Oh, that'd be a great guest. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Yeah, that's it. Okay, this next one, I think I know, I think I know who you're going to marry, but it's a toss-up for the others. Documentaries. Jordan, Tiger, Martha Stewart. Ooh. Yeah. Definitely, I don't really care about Tiger. Okay. So let's just kill him. Dang it.
Starting point is 00:03:47 Martha Stewart, probably got to fuck her. I mean, she was pretty hot. So just on principle. Was she? Yeah. Oh, man. No, she was a model. She started off as a model. I did not know that. Yeah. So, and then she's feisty. Hmm. so she's also been knocking yeah so um yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna martha always got to have the jordan doc to go to
Starting point is 00:04:19 for inspiration episode which one was that six six i think is the money one and then yeah tiger whatever yeah okay uh final question of mine there's a guy in south carolina on friday who's set to be executed by firing squad. Nice. That is sick. I didn't know we were doing that. So two questions out of this. One, which, if you were sentenced to death, which one would you choose?
Starting point is 00:04:50 And then two. Which way to die? Yeah. I think lethal injection. I'd say, f***ing to death. But not guys. Yeah. Well, if you're in jail, I'm sure you're getting to death.
Starting point is 00:05:03 And I don't know how you get to death anyway. I don't want to find out. And then what would your final meal be? It's got to have in and out. Well, in and out's good, but you know what? Like the guilty pleasure back in the day was extra crispy chicken from KFC. And then just kind of, you don't even really eat the meat. Yeah, just the skin.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Yeah, just the skin. And then they had mashed potatoes and gravy and then like some biscuits. Probably sucked. but I thought it was good at that time. So, yeah, I mean, KFC, extra crispy, pretty good, in and out, it's damn good. You know, Taco Bell at the right time and only a couple tacos, because once you get too many of them, then you're just like, what am I eating? But for a couple, with some nachos and a Mountain Dew, I can do that.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Yeah, I think the right time for Taco Bell is any time after 12 at night. yeah yeah for sure uh if you're getting Taco Bell while it's still light out that's wrong with you I've done that plenty though um yeah so I think yeah if we could get some KFC up in there and then did was a question how do I want to be executed yeah um it'd be kind of cool to get shot in the heart with an arrow that'd be a sick way to die yeah Damn. I think it'd be good for the, for the spectators, too. Maybe they should put an apple on your head just as a gimmick.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Yeah. Or just, yeah, tape an apple over my heart. So I don't know. I think that'd be kind of saying. Good to know. Yeah. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:06:52 So now we're moving on to listeners questions. Good questions, by the way, Gideon. Thank you. First one. How do we get Donnie Vincent on your podcast? How do we? Yeah, I don't know. We're on 24.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Oh, yeah. Here? Oh, Donnie, what's up? Let's get you on the pod. Mr. Vincent. No, I do like, yeah, Donnie, I'm sure I've met him at the shows. I'm almost positive. I remember us standing there talking to him one time at somewhere with Adam Foss or somebody.
Starting point is 00:07:27 But this was a million years ago. But yeah, got a lot of respect for him. Does it right. smart so i don't know how we it'd be like oil and water for us like he'd be smart i'd be dumb i don't really know what happens after that um but yeah i just i think uh he has a great take on hunting and um you know just very uh insightful introspective puts out a great product makes great films so yeah i'd love to have them on the pod all right donnie you You heard it here first.
Starting point is 00:08:06 You actually pointing to what camera to look at. Yeah. Good. Yeah, Donnie's a badass. All right, you're going to love this question. And I want an actual answer. What achievement of yours are you proud of? What?
Starting point is 00:08:23 Is that one? Yeah. Oh, God. Nothing. I haven't done shit with my life. I'm waiting to do something. But if I was going to, I'll go with the cliche. is raise good kids.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Yeah. I mean, that is a big one. It's, you know, when people, yeah, I don't really know. I don't really know what a good accomplishment is. I don't think, I guess if you win, like, the Nobel Prize, that's pretty, pretty good. I don't think. Is there a Nobel Prize for bow hunting? I don't. I think I left it my other.
Starting point is 00:09:03 pants i think there is and i got one okay um so that's a pretty good one but yeah other than that i don't know i think it's just you know pretty happy with uh just having happy and healthy kids and uh they're successful and so that feels good. All right an even better question are you getting excited about spring turkey season was that from cordelius yes yeah um i told him i answered actually answered that one to him. I did you? And I just said, no, I'm not gay. But I am.
Starting point is 00:09:39 So are you excited for Turkey season? I'm the most excited. Okay. And let's sell. Turkey hunters settle down. Everybody's settled down. It's just a joke. This is sort of like volume two
Starting point is 00:09:53 of shit talkers weekly. So don't, I don't want anybody to take any of this too personal. Please. Yeah, I can, I'm already feeling the comments from people's angry,
Starting point is 00:10:02 angry, and pause. Yeah, turkey hunting is great. I don't, I don't care about it. It's fine. If you love it, great. Waddell, I know you love it. Drewries. I know you love it. And I know there's a challenge to like, um, we are going to turkey hunt at some time. I mean, I think I said, I don't know if I said I would, but I won't, but I think I told them I would. Um, but yeah, I don't have, I don't have anything against turkey hunting. It's just something funny to joke around about. I like to bear hunt better than turkey hunt. I will just say that in all
Starting point is 00:10:37 seriousness. Okay. Well, you know who does like turkey hunting? Yeah, a lot of people. Theo Vaughn. Oh, I don't know if he likes it. Yeah, I don't know if he likes it. I think he went. I saw him wearing sunglasses and it was like still dark. I think he was tired.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Yeah, maybe. That was, for people that don't know, go watch Waddell's turkey hunt with Theo. It's pretty funny. It's hilarious. Yeah, it's pretty funny. I love both those guys. I don't want a man. I don't.
Starting point is 00:11:07 One time I wrote something in Eastman's that maybe we talked about it here, but I said, I felt sorry for people that only had deer in Turkey, like people back east and the south, because we have so much here. So I said, I felt sorry for them because, you know, they only had those two things to hunt. And, man, people got really worked up. People get worked up. It's kind of a trend. It's is it doesn't matter does it I mean it's not like I said Elkine sucks
Starting point is 00:11:38 Now if I say Elkony sucks you you know, bring me up well I was going to say we might have to do a welfare check on you if you're saying Or if anyone says that they're complete idiots but all right What is your favorite chapter in your new book? I hate my new book Is that a trick question? Yes. Favorite chapter. Man, no, I hate my parts of my due book, but I had so many cool people that it's basically,
Starting point is 00:12:16 this is like me reading my book, I can't talk. But it's basically lessons I've learned from these outliers and just kind of how they've reached a pinnacle. of what they do. So yeah, every chapter has, I mean, so many good lessons. And yeah, I mean, if I had to pick one, I think there's 10 chapters, or I know there is 10 chapters, should have had to read every fucking one of them.
Starting point is 00:12:45 But yeah, there's great parts in there from, you know, Rogan, Ken Rydout, Huberman, Courtney, Derek Wolf, Chris Williams, it's man it's just jelly roll it's awesome an unlimited edition giddyan edition you know there's a whole i mean that's going to be a whole it's like five chapters your part but that's going to be a whole series like the volume the gideon volumes oh okay the gideon volumes perfect yeah so you i what i meant to say was your section oh okay it's my favorite That's a terrible question.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Let's see. Does pineapple belong on pizza? Yeah, I love pineapple. Do you actually? I do. Oh. I know. I know that's a hot take right there.
Starting point is 00:13:42 I'm going to get worked up now. Yeah. Oh, you're getting pissed? Yeah. You think you're hot shit, don't you? Yeah, exactly. And that's just a sign of it. Pineapple on pizza.
Starting point is 00:13:54 No, and I like a lot of pineapple on pizza. Just eat the pineapple. Yeah, I mean, but it's good. So light sauce, light cheese. Heavy cheese. You fat fuck. You lost me. Light sauce, light cheese, extra pineapple.
Starting point is 00:14:14 And even if they want to put pepperoni on it, fuck it. Let's do that too. Okay. Do you like, are you a pineapple on pizza guy? Nah, just extra meat for me. Hold the pizza. All the meat, no pizza, no sauce. Preferably sausage-shaped.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Are you sure you want to hold the sauce? Until I'm finished with the meat. Okay, along those lines, this isn't a question, but someone says oil up. You've seen that? There's a trend where people ask their favorite influencers. I think it's mostly fitness influencers to oil up. So, second. So they want me to oil up?
Starting point is 00:15:00 New shoot. The next merchant drop. Well, Branlon is going to be here tomorrow. So we could get some cinematic shots. Oiling. Yeah. Oh, these are from mine. This is a good one.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Maybe I missed it, but who the fuck are you? Am I? Oh, you? Yeah, that's such a good question. Okay. For those that don't know, Gideon is the, mastermind behind these hunting films. And I'm also a
Starting point is 00:15:31 Hobbit master. Yeah. That's what I'd really like to be known for. Yeah. Yeah. Really? What does that entail? You know, I...
Starting point is 00:15:44 Just bossing around hobbits? Well, I live with one. So you just make him do chores and stuff all the time? Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. He just comes in there, boss?
Starting point is 00:16:00 Yeah. What can I do for you, boss? Okay. Yeah. Well, that's good to know. Chores and pleasure. So there you go. That's what you do.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Yeah. That's who I am. Now you know. Who wins? This is actually, I think Triot put this up on his story. Who's going to win between him and Matt Johnson at the Leadville? Matt is, he's definitely carrying less body weight. So he's going to be more efficient.
Starting point is 00:16:38 We'll see if, I don't know. I mean, Trude is, both of them are very focused. Very health-oriented these days. You know, I know, yeah, I think Matt, I don't really know his whole story, but I know he's really found running and gravitated towards it and had a lot of success. I know he won 100-mile or fastest-known time,
Starting point is 00:17:04 across Texas. I think it's 450 miles or something like that or 800. Shit, I don't know now. But yeah, good guy, good runner. Truitt.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Yeah, I mean, he's got all the talent in the world for running. We'll see if he can drop the body weight. And if he gets up in the mountains there outside of where he lives and gets some, you know, his, the running on flat,
Starting point is 00:17:32 fast, like for these road marathons is not going to help. in Leadville. Yeah, I voted for Matt just because Truitt voted against me in the 50K. Did he? Against you versus Eric? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Oh. Hater. Yeah, he is a hater. Yeah. So I don't know. Who are you going with? Oh, you said Matt. Matt.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Oh, okay. Purely out of spite. I don't know. So Matt's done 100 mile or 19 hours. I saw that. Trueet did one in 32. He wasn't trained up. That makes a big difference.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Truitt focused, he's hard to doubt. Has he been getting miles in in the mountains? No. Oh. So. But that's not until August. Yeah. So he's got time.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Well, I'd have to start now. Yeah. He's got time. He's in great shape, though, so it's not like he doesn't have a good base. No. Yeah. It'll be interesting to see. I saw he started his YouTube series.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Yeah, I saw that. Or I don't know if he started. He's going to. He announced it. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Sub 30 is the goal?
Starting point is 00:18:44 Yeah. Sub 230. Sub 30 marathon? Sub 230. So in the 220s, which is, I think it's like 543s for 26.2. That is. I can't even comprehend that. That is running.
Starting point is 00:19:03 I don't know if I can run that for one. That is running. Actually, I know. I can't. No, you couldn't. It basically feels like you're sprinting. Yeah, I don't know if I can even sprint that fast. So the guys that do it that look like they're jogging,
Starting point is 00:19:20 their strides are about, I don't know, 10 foot long. So it looks like they're just, oh, they're jogging. But then if you tried to see where their foot placement was, they're just so efficient and just relaxed and long strides. they just eat up ground. Yeah, they do make it look easy, but it's definitely not. This is a good one.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Would you rather fight 10 elk-sized babies or 100 baby-sized elk? Let's see. Elk-sized babies or... I feel like, yeah, 100 baby-sized elk? That would seem overwhelming. that would be hectic and the babies it's like even if they're big they're worthless a human baby is the most worthless thing in the world i mean you know when an elk is born or a deer's born
Starting point is 00:20:23 or whatever an animal's born they're like up walking around pretty dimly they're running in like a few hours. Yeah. A baby? Completely worthless for years. Yeah, but you catch a couple with, you know, anger issues. Yeah, but they got soft skulls. I mean, I really think, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:49 And I mean, I know their bones would be hard to break. I think they're soft when they're a little. But it would be no muscle tone. no muscle tone so you know like a body shot or a leg kick just f*** baby up until he gets a hold of you and gums you yeah i mean baby you can't they're giant weak babies big babies that's a good question yeah um what's your least favorite What's your least?
Starting point is 00:21:32 It says each of you are least favorite type of hunting influencer. Oh, I hate hunting influencers who are full of shit and lie. That's a good one. Yeah. I hate Nate Illingsworth. Okay. Yeah. I don't think he, does he lie?
Starting point is 00:21:49 No, I just hate him. Oh, that's all right. I mean, yeah, I think he's good to hate. Yeah, I guess at the last show, Expo or whatever, I don't even know which one it was. People were asking him if he and I were friends. So we're not doing a good job of selling the beef. Are you dating or are you still just friends? We're going to have to edit this out.
Starting point is 00:22:13 He's taking me on a couple nice dates. Yeah, he's getting shredded. Yeah, I'm a little worried, actually. Why? Well, you can bench more than me. Do you have a contest? We haven't come up with one yet. We need to, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:26 But he can definitely bench and squat more than me. Would you rather fight 10 baby-sized Nate? Illingsworth or a hundred Nate-sized babies I don't know he's just one giant man baby so yeah no I mean so he is is he a hunting influencer too
Starting point is 00:22:48 I think he's a he's a CrossFit influencer now right? Oh yeah because he was with Rich Fronian yeah they're doing workouts I think he I mean obviously he could win CrossFit CrossFit. Well, I think he's going to win the Open this year, yeah. Yeah, he could, yeah, he could definitely win CrossFit.
Starting point is 00:23:08 But my plan is to maybe, you know, do some fast eating challenges first in the competition. So then he reverts back to his old habits. And gets fat real quick. What are you going to eat? What's your eating contest? Hot dogs. Oh, God. Without the fun. You go with your strength. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Someone asked if, oh, they want to know when I'm doing a lift run shoot. Actually, they want to see me pop a balloon. We've shot before once in Austin. I know. You actually didn't shoot bad. Did you almost beat me? Yeah, by like two millimeters. Like a tit hair.
Starting point is 00:23:47 By the hair on my tit. No, I know you surprised me with that one. I'd surprise myself. So. Yeah, well, I think we know. So you have run with me before. Yeah. You have lifted. Yeah. So we can just get all that footage put together. Oh, and it's all of you. I need a camera on me while I'm filming.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Oh. Nobody wants to see your worthless ass. Trust me. I don't want to see it either. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, that's unanimous. But someone asked on yours too when I was doing a lift run shoot.
Starting point is 00:24:19 So maybe they do. That's two people. Was it you? Is it you asking both those times? Yeah, I answered my own question. We'd have three views, those two and my mom. Yeah. And would there be anybody else?
Starting point is 00:24:36 Definitely not my dad. No. He f***ed you. We sent him a text after he was here. No response until last night and then he just sent me a picture of my nephew. That's it. That's been a couple weeks, hasn't it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Hey. you gotta mend those bridges yeah right it's all right it's a process is his therapy now yeah it's all right anything you're planning to do differently or keep the same for coca dona compared to bigfoot or moab i mean it's been a little while oh thanks for reminding me yeah i was like half my age the last time i did a 200 um anything i do differently i hope I hope I'm in better shape because both those were brutal. Do you feel like you are? No.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I feel like every time I go running, this is the first run I've ever been on. So and then when, you know, when they said, hey, do you want to do Coca-Dona? It was like, you know, five months till the race, six months. Yeah, that sounds good. God. I had all these big plans like, oh, six months, I'm going to be in the best shape of my life. So now we're, what are we two months? May.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Two, two and a half. So I guess I better start getting in shape. Yeah, I don't know. I did 21 today with 3,000 foot of gain. So 2,000 foot of gain yesterday. So I'm trying. Yeah. Well, we'll see.
Starting point is 00:26:23 I guess. I'm trying to get in shape too. Everyone's going to see, unfortunately. A shape. Yeah, everyone's going to be tracking you. Fuck. That's the worst part of it. Mario is like, I might just fly down there because he wants to help.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Really? Yeah. Oh, man. Well, that's the thing about it is help is awesome, but you know what help doesn't do? Run any miles for you. So you can have 100 fucking people there. You still got to run. and 250 miles yourself.
Starting point is 00:26:57 So, I mean, it's good. I, you know, I appreciate the help and support. Rihanna's got this whole, chart, all this stuff, like aid stations and... AIDS. Yeah. Yeah. You get AIDS at all these stations.
Starting point is 00:27:10 And, yeah, so it's great other than the fact that I stuff to run for three days straight. Well... If we could skip that part. Just skip it. Fuck them. Yeah. And plus there's a bunch of super fast best runners in the history of ultra running will be there. So.
Starting point is 00:27:34 So, but you're going to win. Right? I'm trying to get a finish. You have to for the film. You don't have to. Well, I want it. We need that and, you know, a weather event and then we're good. Oh, I know.
Starting point is 00:27:52 Our weather event's been carrying our films. I know. Well, because the rest of it is ass. Yeah. You know? So Elisa Rain and Hales doing something. People did like Katie's. Surprisingly.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Even she said, I mean, this is off the record. Yeah. But she said, James did a good job. I'm like, nah. I paid her. I don't think so. Yeah. Her and I need to set up that boxing match by the way.
Starting point is 00:28:20 She reposted that. Yeah, I had Macy take out the last part of, I didn't want some joke you said at the end of the shit talkers to make it uncomfortable for her listen to. So I took, I had her edit that part out. I go, I don't really want KD to, I don't want this visual to be uncomfortable for people. So I'm not going to mention what, actually, I think was. I mean, I was going to let you throw me under the bus. I'm just going to blame you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I mean, what you said was completely unacceptable. How dare I? That's my fault. It's actually disappointing. Someone wants to let you know, this is something. If you'll let us tattoo you live on the podcast. Who? Connor and I.
Starting point is 00:29:20 You guys are going to tattoo me? Oh, I thought it was like a real artist. I'm like, yeah, I'll do it. That would be sick. I don't care. That's actually a good idea. Neck tat. They're going to say ass.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Let's go. Well, we'll do both. Just lay right here. Yeah, we'll do both. Yeah, no, I'd do it. All right. It's good to know. What about Arizona elk hunting is different from any other state?
Starting point is 00:29:44 The bulls are giant. I mean, yeah, I mean, elk or elk. I don't care where you're hunting. It's a, you know, it's a species. It's been around a long time, so it's not like they changed from state to state they're pretty much the behavior is fairly similar um but yeah they're just you know they do a good job of well the habitat's great the uh whatever grows big bowls is good the winters must be good down there if you get some moisture or i mean the winters aren't crazy like in the rockies up here but if you get
Starting point is 00:30:19 some moisture in the spring and and uh you know they had good moisture to the winter you can get some giant bulls. So generally it's just the size. The bodies, the heads, the antlers, everything seems bigger to me, just as an animal. But how they react and respond, it seemed similar to me. What do you think? I'm just formulating my expert opinion on the matter. You did go on four L-cunts, didn't you this year? Yeah. Yeah. Most of it I was blacked out for. No, I mean, I agree with everything you just said. Okay. Well, yeah, I mean, it felt like just elk cunning to me. I don't know about you. Yeah, that's exactly how it felt to me too. Yeah, the difference, you know, sitting water is pretty unique and down there just because of the climate, it's dry.
Starting point is 00:31:16 Those bulls during the rut, they burn, you know, they're moving around, they're burning a lot of fluid, they're wasting or they're expending a lot of energy trying to find hot cow so they need to hit the water that is a big that's why how i killed that giant one right there um and that i haven't really done that before so that is a little different yeah i mean i was at water in montana but it's so hit or miss it's like that it seemed like it was you know like clockwork yeah in the evenings if you got if the wind's good like you know we got up in that or i got up in that tree you got seven miles back like seven miles back and in a hole in a whole yeah covered up with dirt and sticks and Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:58 Come. I don't know what you're doing there, but I guess that explains it. That's why the film was so shitty. Yeah. So yeah, it's, yeah, if you can, I don't know, pay attention to the wind, get a break on the wind, and get it in a position where those bulls aren't going to see you. Because anything coming into water is going to be more. Seems like you're distracted.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I'm just thinking about me rolling around in dirt instincts. Don't say it. Yeah. You're like an almond roca. But it's that cum just making all that shit stick to you instead of chocolate. You're an almond cum roca. So, yeah, that was you. I just needed a little tinfoil wrapping paper to put around you.
Starting point is 00:33:09 What the hell happened to James? Oh, that big piece of Almer and Rocha right there? That is James. Okay, sorry. Yeah. I was distracted. I can't remember what I say now. How do you push through muscle fatigue when running?
Starting point is 00:33:31 What do you say to yourself? I have no idea. I black out. Yeah, I don't know. Okay. Just try to get distracted. and find a good podcast, which are our none. Someone asks.
Starting point is 00:33:51 That was a question? Yeah. Who? T.J. Hickey. Oh, I don't know who that is. Well. Terrible work, TJ. Appreciate you, though.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Thanks for the prayers. He's praying, right? Or is that a high five? It's a, oh. I use it as a high five as a prayer. Yeah. I'm screwed up. I think it's a prayer.
Starting point is 00:34:08 That's how I've already. Yeah, some people say it's too, it's high-fiving. When's the next time you're training with Goggins? Whenever he's ready, I'm down. Yeah, he's super busy. This is actually, come and run an Ultra in Iceland in June. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:28 It could be, I mean, Iceland's pretty sick, right? Yeah, I'd like to do that. Hengale Ultra. Yeah. 7th of June. What? Does it say the distance? No.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Oh. Yeah, that'd be super cool. Yeah. This says Utah Elkhont tips and tricks. Just be ready. It's elk hunting, so they're pretty good at not allowing people to get within bow range. It's not too much different than bow hunting anything. What is the current training schedule?
Starting point is 00:35:02 Well, current training schedule getting ready for a 250-mile race is lots of miles, and I wish I was getting in more, but the goal is 100 miles a week. I think this week so far I have 78 miles and 11,000 feet of gain. So there's kind of a dilemma with getting a bunch of miles. I can go flat on the bike path, say, and run 20 miles in a couple hours. But 20 miles of the mountain will take four hours. For some of us? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:38 So it's, yeah, it's, when you got the goal of getting 100 miles, it's really tempting to want to just bust out the fast, the fast ones. But that doesn't help your legs. So I'm trying to do fast. Did a couple fast days with not much climbing this week. And then the last three days have done, yeah, I've done all my 11,000 feet in three days. So that definitely, yeah. Who all is coming to do the Grand Canyon? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Taylor and somebody else. Is Nick the trainer dude coming? I don't think so. Oh, okay. No. Yeah, so then it's just a matter of also just big days on your feet. So Courtney and I, well, James made a great film on Courtney and I's 100 mile in three days. That turned out good.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Yeah, everyone really loved it. Yeah, they loved that. So that was big days on the feet. And then like the Grand Canyon will be 50 miles. 11,000 feet in that one day. That's what it takes. Yeah, that's going to be brutal. I'm thinking about that, how we're going to film that.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Yeah. Rihanna asked me, and I said, probably not. Filming it? Yeah. Oh, I don't know. Yeah. I don't know, unless we can figure out a way to do it. I know.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Because I know for a way I'm running that with the camera. I know. That's what I'm worried about. Yeah. I mean, you could get going down to the river as hard yeah and then just hike out die well but you'd want so if you got going down to the river and then we go up to the north side and then you could just hang out like a phantom ranch yeah which is in the bottom that's where there's lemonade and shit everybody goes to but that's
Starting point is 00:37:30 only like i think eight miles oh and then we got to go 12 to the north rim from there or at least 12 and then back and then wait for you and then out so i mean we could we would just miss a north rim yeah but if you got some clips here and there or on your phone or something yeah so we can put a little caption in there that says gideon is a fat ass can't film the rest i mean do we need to say i think people know that people know yeah um what is your big goals in the next five years i'm all i think about is tomorrow hardly even in that. I mean, yeah, tonight, basically. I do not think about anything in the future. So, the main difference between Endure and Undeniable, completely different books, whole different themes,
Starting point is 00:38:23 everything, Endure is my story. Undeniable is how winners become outliers and the best in the world of what they do. So it's a whole, whole different theme to that. Undeniable also has way, better photos in it. Yeah, James did some great, great photos from James in there, I will admit. No question, just hope to be a guest on the show someday. Keep up the good work. Well, I get a lot of, questions or offers for people to come on the show. And I was just, all I would say is just keep hammering, make a name for yourself, start doing kick-ass shit, and then I want to talk to you about it. That's what I did. Yeah, that's why James is here. Yeah, get f***. Yeah. Any plans to come hunt BC this year? No, no plans yet. Would you teach me how to shoot a bow? I would teach
Starting point is 00:39:21 anyone how to shoot a bow. And here's one thing. I want to say this, because I think I went on a rant before about dumb pox. Yeah, I think a couple maybe, but I could be wrong. Yeah, I would teach I don't think people understand. I want, I don't care who the fuck they are. I want him to shoot a bow. I would teach RuPaul how to shoot a bow. I do not care. I don't care what you look like, what you do, who you are.
Starting point is 00:39:50 I don't give a fuck. I think archery and doing shit like that can, can change people's lives. So I'm not judging people. I'm not like some of these dumb fuck on here. You know, I'm not saying I've never judged people. I judge people all the time. But when it comes to archery, and sharing my passion, I don't judge anyone. I don't care. I don't care what you do,
Starting point is 00:40:11 what you look like, who you are, anything. So, man, so in that vein, seeing some of the comments about people just that are, you know, like a Travis Barker type or, I don't know, I've had all different types on, on the podcast. And then another thing that drives me crazy is people, a brand new archer. And to teach somebody how to shoot a bow, there's about a hundred different things. You got to, I mean, when you've never done it before,
Starting point is 00:40:43 I'm telling them so many things. So all I'm trying to do is just, let's get the arrow going the right way. Right. Let's not accidentally hit, punch the trigger and have an arrow go through somebody's head over there standing there watching. Or so it's just, it's just the basics.
Starting point is 00:41:00 And then you get these dumb, that are just judging people like they've been doing, like they're looking at me doing it. And people still talk shit about how I shoot. I don't even shoot right. So how you got a Travis Barker who, that day he shot 20 arrows maybe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:18 He only had, he didn't have very long. No. 20 arrows and people are like looking at him, having all these comments about, inform and shit like that. It's like, oh my God, you guys are so goddamn stupid. Because I think part of it is like, or some people are like, oh, I know more than this person. So it almost gives them a feeling of being better.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Superiority. It's just like, oh, I'm going to make this comment and then I'm going to be like, they'll feel better because they're like, yeah, I commented on Cam's page about Travis Barker. It's like, yeah, nobody gives a fuck you. Nobody cares about what you say. And so when you say that, I'll just block and delete you. did I never have to because the way I look at it is if you're so dumb that that's what you have to offer you're never going to offer me anything anything right it's like if that's a level of of what you contribute I'm not missing shit you will never give me something that's like oh that's that's man
Starting point is 00:42:17 that's interesting I didn't realize that you're just so stupid it's going to be a bunch of comments like that for as long as you're on my page so you're gone bye bye oh my God, I don't know if you could tell, but it's sort of irritating. Because it's like if we want bull hunting to be around for a while, we need new bohunters. Or not even bohunters, but people who understand archery and bow hunting to be so they can, when they're in their circle of people talking about influence or talking about things they've learned or different perspectives, maybe they'll bring up, hey, I shot a bow one time, this one guy. and whatever.
Starting point is 00:42:59 And it's like, that's, so that's how we gain support for what we do. It is, it's interesting. I mean, you think about like other, you know, lifestyles or hobbies. And of course, there's always going to be a little gatekeeping, but for archery it seems so bad for some reason. I'm trying to think of another, something that's just as bad. I don't know if part of it is it's competitive, public, land, you know, it's a grind. You are competing with other guys. You hate to see other people.
Starting point is 00:43:35 So if that just, that influences, like anytime you see another bow hunter, is it because of these feelings you have in the mountain when you're chasing this dream you've been, you know, you've had for years or decades or whatever? And then, so people are essentially the enemy to this dream, right? So maybe that carries over in some weird way, psychology, psychological. I don't know. Big word. I don't know shit. But brain wise. Maybe it's like anytime they see somebody new in their head that's like it's a competition type trigger. And so they need to shit on them a little. I don't know. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. I try to.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Oh, man. It's really, really frustrating for me. And I think some people, maybe they're saying that, shit and I don't I don't even know. I just don't like it because if Travis who he was already unsure about it's brand new for him and also he said am I holding this bow right because you know like skateboarders if you hold the skateboard wrong you're going to get ripped yeah and so there is I guess that's a little gatekeeping and skateboarding too but uh I just didn't want him to be like already unsure it's already a new thing already like you know I said man you show out great. He's like, I did. He's excited. Yeah. I didn't want him reading a bunch of retarded comments about his form when he doesn't even, he's never even pulled back a bow. So
Starting point is 00:45:11 then all of a sudden he's reading and it's like, God dang, these guys are kind of dicks and hunters. Yeah. So can we afford that? No, but also, I mean, he reads some of that. The last thing he's going to want to do is shoot a bow again. Yeah. I mean, it's just, it's like, guys, how dumb are we as a group. Are we really that dumb? Maybe we should take a sample size. You see, average IQ test. It'd be like six. Because I'm six.
Starting point is 00:45:40 So I know what it is. I just don't. I mean, it's shit talkers weekly. Rants are allowed. That was definitely a rant. Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:01 I just think that that's a big. issue we have in our community and I just think I would hope I would hope we'd be smarter than that but sure doesn't seem like it yeah I mean climbing's pretty bad but I'm thinking like the gym it's not like people are going up to random people and like hey let me offer some advice on your form like no one does that usually not no usually everyone's pretty supportive I don't know yeah I mean that's what I said on one of those I made some IG story posts and I'm like is that hard to be cool and supportive is that is that hard to be cool and supportive is that is that hard Can you just say, oh, that's awesome.
Starting point is 00:46:37 Travis Barker shooting a bow. Awesome. Great job. That doesn't seem hard. Yeah. And you know how far that goes? Yeah. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:46:48 I guess people do shit on people, gym culture, at least on Instagram. So it's just the internet is a place for people to make anonymous comments. I don't, I never really go to other pages and talk shit. Well, no. I don't, but I don't see the point.
Starting point is 00:47:08 I mean, I mean, so is it, it's not mandatory. Is that you don't have, do you have to do that? Do you have to be an idiot? I do. I have to be an idiot. I just want people, hey, let's, I want to get, like I said, I want to get a bow in everybody's hand. I don't care if they bow hunt. I just think archery is cool and it's, yeah, they're,
Starting point is 00:47:34 I was talking to Travis about this. For busy people, when you're distracted by life's challenges, when you get out there and shoot a few arrows, it's like, that's all you're thinking about. So it's great in that regard. And I think it just would help society and just expose people to a great way of life. And if someday they want to hunt or talk to hunters
Starting point is 00:47:57 about why hunting is important or why they love it, that's great. So that's all I want to do. I just, you know, bow hunting and archery has changed my life. So I'd like to offer that same potential to others and without them having to deal with all the baggage and of negativity. And, you know, I know, people criticize me forever about you don't need to run marathons to kill an elk. So, I mean, I've been criticized by my own community for decades. And I know how it feels. I mean, it didn't change me at all,
Starting point is 00:48:34 but I have a different mindset than maybe somebody who's just coming in who lives in L.A. who doesn't understand just how hunters are, I guess. You know, I was used to it because I lived in a small town. Everybody talks shit about everybody. So it wasn't a big shock,
Starting point is 00:48:54 but for people who aren't used to that type of culture, it's like, yeah, be a big turnoff. Yeah. I definitely would agree. So, well said. Thank you. I have many words. All right. Yeah. I mean, that's a Q&A. Yeah. So the takeaways are Donnie Vincent. Where are you at? Donnie Vincent, yeah. And a tattoo artist. Yeah, I need a neck tat. I got one in mind. A neck tat? No, a tattoo artist. Who? Sasha. Oh, yeah. Yeah, she's good. She is a really good artist.
Starting point is 00:49:37 She'd definitely do it too. Yeah, she's a badass. She bohunts. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, so the big goal for next week is, are we going to get Theo Vaughn on here? We have to.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Because he's in town. We've been thinking of a good, very kill for Theo. Yeah. Well, it's hard. What are you supposed to ask? You can come up with something. And you know what else I was, I also want to talk to, I was going to send him a message today, but Ben Blankenship.
Starting point is 00:50:12 So now he's been doing ultras. So I'm going to ask him, what's harder? The Olympics, making the Olympics, or winning an ultra? Because I think he got second in an ultra. But man, if you just look on paper, you'd think like, oh, my God, this guy's going to crush every fucking race. He's an Olympian. And so I want to get his perspective on. what's been the biggest challenge.
Starting point is 00:50:36 I think that'd be really interesting. Yeah, I think it'd be awesome because he's just a lifelong runner. And now he's got, you know, been one of the best in the world on the Olympic stage in the 1500 and now taking his, you know, talents and skills to the ultra
Starting point is 00:50:50 and had a lot of success. But I just want to find out. Maybe he's one. He probably has one. I know he's done a few races and I know he got second, I think, in his first hundred, which is impressive.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Yeah, I'm trying to remember which one that was. I know it had like that track section and then it went out of the loop. It was back in Pennsylvania. Yeah. Yeah. So those are the goals. Theo. We'll see you next week.
Starting point is 00:51:13 Yeah. And Donnie Vincent. Don't be an idiot. Ben Blankenship. Ben Blankenship. Truitt Haynes. Can we say fag? It sounds like you did.
Starting point is 00:51:26 I also thought that we could have Branlon and Caleb on to talk about what they think makes good content. That'd be interesting. Yeah. I mean, I don't want to do any of the shit they're here to do. So, might as well do something I want to do. All right. Okay. That's it.
Starting point is 00:51:47 That's a wrap. Connor, anything? Any closing words? I got a joke. Let's hear it. All right. Will this one make it? Don't let it live.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Yeah, I think this one's going to make it. This one's a quick one. Okay. So everybody knows New York is the big apple. Does anyone know? know where Minneapolis. Okay. Well, that's how we got for the Keep Hammer Collective Q&A edition.
Starting point is 00:52:22 We got great questions, retarded answers from your host. What? Did you have something else? Well, I think you could have said, no, I'm an idiot. I just fucked it up. Stupid, stupid. Oh, I wish I was dead. Oh, go.
Starting point is 00:52:42 You're going to pay for that. later all right guys thanks for the questions keep hammering
