couldn't go any other way oh jeez uh speaking of plans so uh record breaker uh as uh i mean to be like like a record record breaker uh yeah we we we we we didn't stand but uh we'd had a meet-up and uh it was at magfest the music and game festival that's correct we were there the last weekend and uh we hit seven hours i think it went to seven thirty we hit seven we started at seven yeah and we finished at two i won't say like two twenty three or something might have been two twenty something yeah yeah i'll

you know what there were a couple of people that came in last last second you're right so i remember thinking seven hours plus i remember looking at the line looking at the line and line is like a the length of the line is a symbol of how big your wiener is and you look at it oh it's not as big as last year is that oh is that what's going on but then people kept showing up to the line hmm and i realized that our penis was the biggest it's ever been stage transitions occurred yeah and i that was awkward but worked out really

well actually it did it did and in the midst of of stage transitions uh i i learned that uh there were many of folk who went ah fuck it you know so like there were some people so are the there was a phantom like the head of the the the edick faded away i'm trying real hard to make this now do you work i'm trying real hard to make it not i know okay and yet um some real champions some real cool people we met that guy that one guy that guy and he got the tweet out of all he did

he got the tweet she was there for four ish he got we got to this dude got the tweet out of it because he was no he was there for the six he was there for the six he was there for the six because he walks up shook our hands go you're tired i'm hungry bye and we were just like and left fuck what can you how do you top that you don't and you get so you got the screenshots of him walking into the sunset as the line is freaking out and we're all just applauding that shit swag oi buzu swag oi buzu i have a pro tip for

and then eventually they give him a dollar i i hand it over a gift um a gift credit card oh yeah so oh yeah that worked there you go done and done you know what the weirdest thing about magfest this year was to me i mean i've only been two years so like whatever but the hardest night that i went was thursday yeah yeah that's normal that's actually pretty normal um the it's like earlier going harder and harder earlier and earlier going like ah there's time and because like yeah i got so

fucked up on thursday that the whole rest of the weekend was me trying to catch up on that hangover yeah um it helps that like at least for me i feel like i'm at a point where looking over the schedule there's very few events i'm going to yeah most of my con is really just con most of my fest yeah most yeah most of my magfest is just like hey i patch wolf is there it's people it's a dealer's room it's it's uh indie games it's arcades it's dancing it's drinking it's all of that it's very little

in terms of like the tons of other events they have i wanted to go to one panel no two panels i went to uh the user words one uh with brenda floss that page one of course but i also want to go to see slowbeef's panel which got canceled last second that sucks for a multitude of long ass story reasons that sucked a bunch of shit yeah um i mean one thing that one good thing that came out of uh the the the mess that was our our line that eventually stage transitioned over to another area was i think

after doing it for a while now because we eventually showed up at magfest originally in official capacity and then it very suddenly stopped being official capacity yeah and then we remained the connection so that uh hopefully it can yeah that was a nice thing we become an official because they came up and they were like you're causing a massive fire hazard and we're like yeah and they're like no yeah and then some some nice man came over and was like hey did you cause a massive fire hazard

and we were like yeah he was like yeah and so yeah that's the story because you know i keep i keep audio listeners i'm sorry i keep looking at all the wrong things you really keep look at the blue light the blue light at home i have a i have a white light is that a 920 i don't know it's the same shit we used to have okay it's probably a 920 i literally just took that shit and put it here yeah same shit except now that this is in my house it's dusted yeah oh that's all it took that's the

got to hang out with awesome again got to hang out with fucking ipatch wolf basically see once a year yeah uh bunny hop see cranky i saw bunny hop for 10 seconds i walked by george i was like hey george was yo and yeah that was it he was he was he was living on the karaoke oh was he for a while there but eventually we got to hang for a bit and just all the all the usual suspects it was great uh good times ant fish and and and and and epic game music uh james and the i also unfortunately only ran into james once

you know i ran in i ran into james was ah james and then he was like this is a big thing and he was like with people it was like oh i'll talk to you later and then i never saw again but you know uh yeah yeah it was it was great you know a great mac fest and as usual per per per uh how it's been and uh i mean i don't know i guess uh what's of note of note um because because i like i'm trying to think of like whether we go into into that or whether we're going to prior to that or whatever was going on or pull our plane or do the only other thing i want to say

mac fest is apparently that fucking chicken mcnugget thing is now a thing like buying like thousands of chicken mcnugget oh buying a bunch of nuggies yeah yeah that's that's just now like a mac fest tradition people try to buy a lot of nuggies is true because there's that goddamn mcdonnells down the road um i was i was pleasantly surprised by uh as usual that arcade selection they had some they had the updated version of hey blitz camp in there i got in some blitz camp for a while that was super fucking dope i'll be real i got a real thrill like they they split up when we went to mac fest last

year they they had all the video games over on the one side here they had it on the two sides and they had the was essentially console crt retro setups and then arcade cabinets right off deep in the farthest darkest corner in the back were the melee and smash cabs and they were proud in the smash zone and i laughed and laughed and laughed literally called the smash zone literally called the smash zone no they they they were having their fun i couldn't find did not smell at all i went and checked i smelled some people when they weren't

looking i couldn't find the um that wacky ass edit that has like a million characters in it have you seen that thing with the titties no no no it's like a smash it's like a project m type of game but it's like got fucking Dante and okay i don't even know what the fuck you're talking about that there's this ridiculous like million character smash ultimate it's called i think it's called i think it's called i forget what it's called entirely to be honest oh it has some wacky ass party mode party name

and it just you just you pick any character and you don't know what the fuck you're gonna get when the game loads up and it was like it was a good ass time been previous macros oh so like you hover over yoshi and then get demi fiend um if you don't you smash infinite is that what it is yeah and perhaps best smash it it's basically mugen uh it's basically smash brothers using them the goddamn engine on the game yeah it was fucking nutty uh but it was a good time um and yeah i didn't see that this year

unfortunately but what was there was punch planet fuck yeah uh i was really happy to i'm like like like because because punch bond has been making the rounds but not usually at like um a mac this i believe i think usually more so just like fighting game stuff um and yeah they ran a tournament and sat down and got the run through and where that game's going and just one of my number one most anticipated like upcoming projects man like everything about that thing is the current state

of punch planet uh early access with a lot of characters out but still not out on console so when we played it it seemed fairly complete other than the roster yeah and i think once the roster is further along in a more finalized state once they fill out those boxes of potential uh i think they're going to be coasters motherfucker use a coaster that's what's up uh what is christ mom we're in the there's like five of them and their camon rider things i didn't know if

those were coasters i thought they might have been many vinyls use the zect one um the there's their the plan is as far as i know to do that big old console release once the full roster is there you know so uh and hey that makes perfect how many characters they made for eight i assume uh uh this there's we we don't know officially but i mean there's space on that character select screen for a couple more and i think aesthetically they would want to deliver a pleasing uh a product that fills out that space

but we don't have a number at the moment oh well yep so it'll come out tiara being the the just the giant woman that i want and need uh i'm i'm fully happy with committing to probably mating her unless something new and ridiculous comes out from those question boxes you don't know but man i just i'm just it's just a bad habit of being like that character that's the character i love and then the new character comes out and goes oh no that's what i actually wanted all along yes yes that does happen sometimes so

you know and that's the only time i end up with like two mains or whatever but like in in Guilty Gear's case i haven't touched sin in a minute like i've only cared about biking since biking because biking exactly and it was like that with fucking street fighter it's like oh nekali man oh yeah oh just get out of the way nekali bonkas here well you know that's i mean that's predictable that's to be expected i suppose uh also there was uh yeah there was a like you know a bunch of other like fun indies and things going on um always a fan always a fan of like the wacky game section where you have like games that are just made

of lights and buttons you know and you just have to walk up to this thing and go what is happening here i saw an arcade cabinet that i didn't get the name of because it was like a cocktail and it appeared to be like i don't even know how to describe it it was a versus rhythm game in which there were five lighted like neon tubes that the that acted as the note highway but the note highway would go in both directions and when you hit the note it would bounce back towards the other person okay and the is this the cylinder game yeah

yes i played that i played the cylinder game fuck dude i thought it was an air hockey table when i saw people playing it from a distance the cylinder game was pretty sick so yeah so the way to describe it is imagine you're staring at like a cylinder off the ground there's buttons at the top of it and along the side of it there's a multiple tracks exactly the lights spinning around it and you can either make your your uh you have a single i guess pip that has to that has to dodge the beat but depending on oh no no we're talking about

different games okay i'm talking about a like air hockey cabinet that was oh no no no i thought it was and it was versus okay it's like that two player joust cab okay two player joust pinball cab did you play that two player joust pinball yeah i didn't it was a joust pinball cab that was uh like uh horizontal on the like a cocktail and then it would you when you hit the the fucking ball through the center it was actually like a like a sloped roof

and so the you would kick a ball across the other side and then the other player would have to play pinball oh fuck and you could get up to like four or five balls going at once holy and he's joust rules and you throw the balls on the other side that's interesting it was awesome that's cool but when you but i mean like if you want a fucking upgraded joust experience you go with a fucking killer queen mm i don't know if you touched it at all i don't know shit about joust okay well joust is a good queen okay joust is a good ass game

um a balloon fight is a copy of joust what it's and and and and it is balloon fights great i played that on the nest it is great in a classic it is also inferior what but killer queen was also there and killer queen is the new joust basically because it's 4v4 and it's got rules and it's got classes and it's got like team strategy and it's got nidhog and it's got multiple objectives so imagine if you would a game of overwatch except it's um it's what is it like a a a a a death match at the same time as point

capture at the same time as flag just had the saddest thing happen to me and i can't think of a single game that has ever made me feel this way i said the word nidhog and then remembered what nidhog 2 looks like and went uh there's a downer still plays really good it plays really good can you think of any other game that had like that dramatic and like strider universally hated art saw wait oh oh okay in terms of secret art art

art see i thought you meant like sequel ball drop um because like strider genesis is a pretty fucking rough one snakes revenge is a pretty fucking rough one could even apparently like snakes revenge supposedly says it's good game it's part two comes out and it's like nidhog art but because because the game is still there and it's better but yeah but it's also the it might be one of the ugliest games that came out in the year that it came out devil may cry that game still looks good

ah it just looks you see crowed cats video no okay maybe i could go watch it and then i will laugh he did a dmc2 one right he did a video recently called real gamers don't skip devil may cry 2 and i have to wonder if that might be uh huh in relation like straight up now something something something i had i had a guy come up to me in magfest talking about how they played dmc2 and they were like oh yeah i see why you didn't lp it

i foreign to be on that we and we said it and we re we reiterated it a couple times but i feel like uh that video that he made is actually the best like it's the thing that gets everybody to go oh oh i get it now it's really boring the levels are really long and gigantic the fastest and most effective way is to just shoot the guns walking past enemies doing their hardest to like yeah to hit you with none of them have any patterns that just don't care my favorite video i don't know if it's part of uh crowed cats compilation but

i assume is that when you fight bulverk or i don't know it's it's like two or three wolves in a tunnel and if you stand still the tracking on the enemies is so bad yep that they have an incredibly difficult time hitting you yeah they don't actually track towards you they just attack the the the area um so still move so yeah dmc2 might be the only other contender you know and even then it's like that's a bad game worse deadhawk too is actually great so this is the art style change i don't think i can't think of anything no

anything where it suddenly just went to like cell shading in a really awkward way or well i mean you know like orlanders too cell shaded itself a little bit more and became like the best looking game that ever came out on ps2 or just like bad um or the opposite or likes like you go from like good pixel art to bad 3d uh ko f was originally in that place yeah what what what game is it 13 to 14 over strike to fuse which is the same game did that and it was awful yeah i mean i mean marvel infinite people are saying

but it's like marvel infinite to marvel 3 from marvel 2 i straight up say that marvel 3 now like now that we're far off it looks like the sequel to infinite yeah visually either i can see that i can see that it's crazy yeah but i remember i remember why i remember when i first saw marvel 3 and i was kind of like i kind of wish they went a different way with it really a little bit did you want more pixie or i i but but you so so the thing was that like

they did cool the thing where they had it like the berserkers barrage slashing through the pages of the stage was not used enough i want you want way more of that right in the same way that like uh i wanted that street fighter for okami brush stroke orgy that we got from the trailers you know like and i understand visually it's noise and it's and it's not helping and i i just gotta pick a con costume 12 yeah 12 yeah yeah no no there's a point where it's

like okay this is a mess to look at and i understand that part of it but i like those bold art choices yeah and uh yeah i think i think initial launch trailer 14 off of the final state of kof 13 was the next place that you can go besides nidhogg because gameplay was still great yeah but it was just like oh i mean we did like a fucking we must have hours of talking about that on the on the whole podcast just i'm just like hey looks looks looks a little better but let's just keep

andy's face on that tech and uh box art yeah yeah yeah yeah this is keeping there his forehead is so big what's so big so like i only really did um all right like and there's a besides a bunch of games came out and happened but uh i i was uh not keeping up with a bunch of them what i did do was uh unlock characters in smash yep like everybody did uh and just a shit zillion versus matches yep and then see and then like see how like oh the like the later characters

are like like trying a little harder than the first one uh that's that's a one way to put it i think elie uh plague of gripes put it the best where it's like these characters do not want to be on law yeah although it's hilarious at the same time see like smash players like wolf wolf on uh or whatever on on twitter just being like y'all y'all are free anyone who's complaining about that shit is trash yeah well yeah i guess trash dude um but unlocking the characters and then heading over to world of light

and like watching that really cool intro and then playing about an hour of it going oh i uh i have not touched world of light once um i had a bunch of buddies that were going through world of light and this pervasive feeling came over me of light still playing world of light you don't sound like you're having fun i mean yes we're seeing fun stickers of characters and going like oh look it's that character and this is how you this is how they work

into the time to fight dj time to fight time to fight mr sandman oh boy fun yeah but besides that slide the factor with you and fucking little max would have been so obvious and anyway um yeah time to fight pas right what the fuck that must have been multiple people that was that was no there's no way like so that was someone fucking snuck that in and said

there's no way they're gonna let me and then it fucking shipped i feel like i feel like world of light is a huge letdown compared to the subspace emissary and i think everybody knows that which is crazy because subspace emissary was a letdown from video games i think that people are going to um always be comparing things back to the subspace emissary especially just based on like cutscene shit yeah that level of cutscene shit it's a really shallow way to compare to gameplay modes

but shut up those cutscenes were rad they were super fun and i miss them and i am assuming that there's one other world of light cutscene at the end waiting for me uh there isn't a cutscene but there is a bunch of crazy shit that happens i was like i'm never gonna play this tell me and then somebody whispered in my ear y'all this crazy shit happens and i was like oh that's pretty cool how deep is that very deep how like hours upon hours 40 oh my god because yeah that map just keeps going in a way that is like

not super exciting yeah that map okay well i perhaps there's more than those two i i ultimately don't know how many cutscenes are there in the total at the end but uh regardless i was not having a lot of fun with the progression so i kind of tapped out of it you gotta collect all your spirits man yeah okay it's like trophies remember how much fun you had collecting every trophy in the game okay no oh apparently it's not 40 and apparently there's more cutscenes but regardless either way meh

re-roll is the first game again and it's it's it's it's joyous is there anything new or is it just a re-release it's just a re-release oh okay and it's made for new consoles and i see you know um if there is anything new i didn't come across it but it's joyous and it's a good time and uh yeah that was pretty much all i had time for uh and um you know been keeping busy otherwise and then mac fest happened and then christmas happened and then way that's not the order that those went in i know i'm just throwing them just

dumping these all out there but it's fine um uh yeah you know i get i mean nothing to i will say that i like the only other thing is that i played some of the most like scarring games of secret hitler that i've ever played okay because i there's a thing that happens in secret hitler where you can play it normally and with your friends and do what you want or you can cash in on friendship points for tactical advantage in the current temporary game now when you say friendship

points you mean real life actual friendship real life actual friendship points so trust and bonds oh yeah right full on s links a full point right if you're at like if you're at confidant level nine with somebody you can look at them and go hey listen to me i'm not a fucking fascist okay i'm not so you should do what i say and help me out here because we gotta fucking win this game and they're like okay buddy i believe you right and like you and you do it in such a way where you cash in on that

fucking point and then at the end you go i'm hitler and then the game is over and they look at you with such heartbreak that you can hear the arcana reversing itself you can hear it and uh play to win yeah and and and that's a couple of those games went down a couple of those games went down and uh it was uh it was brutal it was brutal the i feel like by the end the fascists fascists what how do you how do you say fascist you say fascist no everyone says fascist okay i've heard i've heard

fascist before but i you've heard that from crazy people i guess it's just wrong the fascists in our game uh i feel like they took more of the night overall and love the more numbers you play with as well like the fucking harder that gets because at some point it's just 50 50 in terms of the number of people sitting at the table but yeah people were cashing in on friendship points hard it was getting brutal but those were good games those are the best games at some point the games that have the the slim possibility of a real fight

yeah no like i can't believe you did me dirty on this monopoly like and well i'm saying like you see what i'm saying about like fucking friendship points yeah now now now quadruple whatever whatever number you need to put on quadruple that for fucking uh engagement marital points of trust man i had to run from the table and hide under a bed at some point because i couldn't believe the lies the thing i super glued that ring on i could not believe the lies fucking

stuff blew my shit up so hard screenshot of our future so hard it was what does this mean like both both uh and like the whole time uh um ipatch wolf was going in on me and like we both just fucking got combo broken and had to leave the table it was devastating but that secret it was a fucking great game uh it's good times and like i think the last one i pulled such a long con over the whole table like i fucking death noted it that by the time it was done like the energy was just gone oh i grew in the room

now not even i've ruined the room but it was such a like like i can't believe the deception i can't believe the lengths you went to it was like it was almost like a game of risk yeah you know where nothing's gonna that's the worst feeling but it was getting to that place where there was like fuck this we're done i can't take any more my heart can't take it you know has anyone ever finished a game of classic risk i believe not i believe there's never been on record a single completed because without the objectives

if you go for proper world domination that should just it's ruinous yeah i think the whole point of risk legacy was based on the idea that hey you know what no one finishes this game so let's make a way for you to keep it going across sessions because literally the end of risk has never occurred not even once this is some kind of meta commentary about how war never ends and that it's hell i think that's exactly what they were going for i think pretty heavy for a children's board game i think so i think chapter three

peace will never occur in risk i think that's forever a fictional idea perhaps you might see screenshots of it who knows maybe there's a photoshopped people will claim that they've seen the end of that photoshop but it was fallout 76 after Bethesda fucked up and accidentally turned up all the new code ah shit topical how is that game still topical uh that game came out like two months ago and it is still in the news because shit's still blowing up almost weekly

or not blowing up did you see the shit with the brum no oh boy let me tell you so part of the promotions what happened for fallout 76 was that they were also they were selling new coca-cola dark rum it was a new coca-cola shaped glass bottle was it actually alcoholic yeah it's rum oh it's rum okay um and um it shaped you know like a little rocket and like a dark brown uh bottle and it's a new coca-cola type rum for your fallout 76 so people get the rum okay first of all

the bottle of rum costs 80 usd right off the bat okay all right hold on is this like limited like is it like fucking like single malt scotch style no in a rare cask okay two when it shows up shockingly enough the picture in the advertisement was somewhat misleading it is not a dark brown glass rum bottle it is a regular generic white bottle of rum with a plastic like a thin plastic rocket ship sleeve over the top of it why but then

but then you pop the top and the bottle and the plastic covering the plastic covering has like a circular indentation around the top so it's extra wide our flush so one it's really difficult to take the sleeve off and two because it's flush when you pour the rum it just slides down the side of the bottle and pours all over the table or floor like so my first thought is jessie pinkman they can't keep getting away with this immediately followed by they're not yeah they haven't gotten away with it

once okay so like there's videos you can look at people going to pour it into a glass and it just pours all over the floor oh my god because you know when you pour something and it just shoots down for some reason yeah yeah and then the people that have managed to extricate the rum it's cheap garbage like how do you keep anyway i don't like there's so many moving parts to this moment in history that is 76 that it's it's legitimately hard to keep track of all of it it is it's becoming hard to keep

track of the full story i'm doing my best but it's difficult and from what i can ascertain the what appears to be happening is that every single department or contracted you know outfit the Bethesda interacted with at any point all simultaneously and independently decided to cut corners like everyone yeah single person that could be involved went fuck it even though like it's like the synchronicity of the radio yeah there was a budget thing at some point and they just went like

nah we can do this for cheaper find us like those other rum guys yeah or find us those other bag now don't use glass that would cost 0.8 cents more per bottle use this plastic shit putting us at a mere 7850 in in on this dog pile of rum oh boy i can't wait for the next one and you know like because they they've announced like hey we're gonna put a really big patch out we're gonna pull real big patch and i can't wait for the patch to comes out is like oh it deleted everyone's accounts or some shit odds that i've never had more fun with the

okay so weeks are just a blur now yeah that's then that's fine yeah they can blur yeah so just go okay i also want to talk that i've been playing a shit ton dead by daylight actually a game that we played on the shit storm like two three years ago but i never got to play as the killer because killer cues at ranked you know so it has the ranking system as you you go from 20 to rank one right to remember which one that was dead by daylight is a horror game it is the uh inspiration for the friday the 13th game yes got it right um yeah it is a

four survivors run around turn on generators run out there's lots of killers yep yep so we played on shit storm a while ago back when was early access and didn't get to play as the killer because the killer hosts the lobby and there's one killer for four survivors and until you get a high enough rank it's actually incredibly difficult to get a game going as a killer right but then once you hit like rank 15 or whatever you get instantly right so uh during that shit storm so we only get to play survivors which is pretty fun i can see why a lot of people like it

is hide and seek essentially uh page has been playing a ton of it and i was like oh that looks cool but i know the dlc killers too right oh yeah so every three months there's a there's a new killer so uh page is playing a ton of survivor and i'm like oh that looks cool but what about the killer though and so i got hands on as the killer and the main difference here is that survivors get third person awareness and have no real ability to i mean they have a flashlight to blind a killer and they can drop pallets on them to stun them but they have no way to fight

right they're helpless and they don't run as fast etc right the killers however get first person perspective which limits their possible view and their job is to slow the game down and murder right yeah the survivors get little perks about oh the generator goes faster or i can heal people you know whatever the killers get perks such as i'm laying bear traps everywhere or i can run across the map with the chainsaw or i can blink through the the geometry of the map right or probably the weirdest one

i have a fucking madness field around me that causes survivors to scream and see hallucinations like it's playing as a killer and dead by daylight is the shit you are playing it is those two sides of that game might as well be two completely different games it is right it is the closest feeling game i have played ever to metal gear online ones snake versus guards if that if that is a place that you can get to okay but here's the thing is that like how much the but the difference is how much can you fight back

because think about guards versus snakes so and i'm thinking about friday the 13th as well the the survivors can fight back very little uh their main ability to fight back is that they can run and hide and there are four of them and as you are chasing one the other three can complete the objective if a survivor it has the the the killer in a trap and the survivor has you there's no there's no way to trap a killer though there's no like bear traps or no the bear traps are for killers

everything that could possibly attack someone okay is killer exclusive the only thing survivors can do is blind them with a flashlight first stun or when you're running there's these wooden pallets and if you drop them just right on the killer it stuns them okay because in 13th you can yeah you can do stuff fucking take out jason yeah you know so okay fair enough the other weird thing about dead by daylight is that the only notable killer missing is jason and i say that in that in the killer list you have your generics

you have your bear trap man you have your ghost nurse you have your japanese vhs teleporter right you also have actually leather face actually michael mayers actually freddy kruger oh oh actual amanda from saul really yeah and i'll take her as an example to describe how varied the killer play styles are right so every killer puts out what is called a terror radius which is within about 30 meters scary ass music same as well yeah right the difference with amanda from saul

is that when she crouches down she has zero terror radius and then her ability is a dash attack which means you're working on a generator or something and then you are literally just out stab okay and her secondary gimmick is that instead of hooking you right away which is the primary uh goal of the killer you hook people three times and then they die like you put them on a big old me hook um she can put a reverse bear trap on you and the reverse bear track gives you about i want to say a minute and a half

maybe two minutes to get it off or else it's a death and the only way to get it off is to find a jigsaw themed like put your hands in the glass box for like 30 seconds to get a key and get the bear trap off which means that as she is stealthing around and tagging people instead of working on objectives players are now forced to get the bear trap off which slows the game down which the longer the game goes the better for the killer it is what's her downside her downside is that she does move particularly fast

and she doesn't have any map controllability right the hillbilly can do a crazy like double speed sprint there's characters that can teleport there's characters that have big ass aoe cones around them uh you know everybody has their gimmick and their the gimmicks are basically devoted into mobility map control and map awareness right so there are killers that just have a really good like the doctor moves really slow creates the madness field yeah very bad at like controlling large areas of the map

like as he takes so long to walk between but when you chase somebody and you got your madness going they keep screaming so you go oh they're behind that oh they're over there oh they went that way consistently so you get pings yeah so and you have this big aoe around you that just goes if you're in this area you will get found eventually it is fucking fascinating and the most fascinating thing about it is the type of toxicity in it so okay you would think in a game that is survivor survivor survivor survivor versus

killer that is inherently antagonistic it is an uneven asynchronous multiplayer game the toxicity would go one way fuck you killer that's bullshit you're a bitch right it doesn't almost every game gg oh wow that was really good you totally got me i didn't realize i was hot you could see me when i was hiding there haha right all the toxicity actually goes i can't believe you didn't try and save me and you hidden that locker when the killer got me

oh yeah yeah but i completed all the objectives and i got i got two people off the hook yeah but you didn't save me that one time okay fuck you okay but but outside of that because hold on a second because i remember because in front of the 13th there's tons of like you opened that door and i locked it and you got us killed or you took my hiding spot or there's lots of ways to actively fuck over other people i had the gas you took the keys the number one thing that gets people fucking toxic

in Dead by Daylight is when i was running around and got fucked up by the killer because i'm bad you didn't run out to save me even though there was nothing you could have done you just hid there and then completed the objective and then and then i like it's you escaped i didn't yeah get fucked right right right like and it's wild like i have i have watched and played matches where if everybody escapes at one person there's a secondary objective that opens up which is just a hole in the floor

it's a hatch you can just jump through and win killers will grab people as they're exiting it go hook them let themselves get unhooked and then go and drop them by the hatch and just let them leave because wow you did a good job that was really good you did a good job survivor or oh cool job oh that was rad or what survivors will do is there's a really specific spot that even if the killer hits you and downs you you can still crawl to the finish

in time and escape and the reason people do that is because the killer gets points for the smack so they sit there at the exit waiting for the killer to smack them so the killer can get their points and then crawl across but the people that get toxic are the killer was standing right there you did not hook me how could you bitch are there are there are there incentives for like being a medic slash there are massive incentives in fact each um probably the weirdest thing about it

is each each category each class has four things you can do like killer uh i i know killers the best i'll talk about that but it's like uh stopping the generator from getting completed which is objectives um hunting survivors which is how long you chase them how long you find them how many of them you hook how many of them you use your power on right yeah your success rate in the match is not dead is not determined by how many people you kill it's not like hey you you killed all four people good job you got the max points

no the max points is achieved and the only way to rank up is if you successfully complete enough of those actions so one of the things that people do when they're new is they'll hook somebody on a big old hook and then they will fucking stand there so that no one can save them and they cannot hook themselves and after about two minutes they just die right that actively destroys your pips on how to get points and people who do that will never actually rank up because you're losing

points by camping it and the only way to gain them is by moving away right chasing new people right okay so the the way the game has been designed with the point system which gets you upgrades and stuff like that is not about winning the match it's more about playing the best slasher villain you can that would be the most fun to play against even if you only kill one person even if you only i've gotten matches or i've killed zero people but you chased and it gave me the ruthless killer title at the end which is

the best rank you can get because you fucking got a shit ton of points and i've played matches where i killed everyone and i got like entity displeased which is the elder so basically there's a killer style ranking outside of yes actual and there's a survivor style ranking outside of which is all chorizo your actual chasing you get points for healing people get points for running distraction which is when somebody gets into a chase you get into a chase as well to lead them on yeah okay like it's great it's great

and the fact that there's new killers coming out all the time there's a bunch in the game and they're all the they're either straight up licensed characters or they're um what do you call it uh fucking uh how to legally distinct licensed characters we tried to get the license and they said no so we just didn't or they there are some so there's we're putting this metallic there's the spirit which is in this commercial there's the spirit which is ring yamaoka okay and she is a screaming japanese ghost with a katana

who uh vc uh vcr blanks at you and she has a fucking add uh she has a perk called the grudge yeah yeah totally not the grudge not at all though totally not there's a new character called legion which is some teenagers with a smiley face mask that look exactly like characters from the purge totally not the purge or the strangers see that's okay so that's fucked up in a way where one if you can do the hat they already had a sat echo versus fucking whatever the grudge hi echo and hi echo and and you would think

if one got involved the other would as well but i guess the pay check wasn't good enough but then also it's again that metallica thing of hey metallica use we want to use your music for a car commercial no that's not cool okay well we're just gonna use this music that sounds exactly like you yeah fuck and then you won't get this paycheck fuck okay so there's the ultimate there the three first killers that came out where the bear trapper the the trapper which puts bear traps the wraith which is a guy who can be invisible and just appear and the hillbilly

and the hillbilly is a deformed big-ass mutant that has a chainsaw and runs really fast at you with a chainsaw and his backstory is he is a strat of leather face facsimile yes but then they put leather face into the game oh and they are similar to the point where leather face and hillbilly use the same add-ons like they use the same upgrade yeah yeah yeah and so it's like you know in texas chainsaw masker the leather face is big thing is him like with the chainsaw over his head and he's running at you

that's hillbilly's ability so leather face had to be given a different chainsaw ability which is just some wild swings as he's running forward and it's just like oh man fucking whoops you guys really never thought you'd get any license shit at all did you yeah where the original is now the echo fighter yeah and like the doctor looks just like the surgeon from fucking hell razor and all that shit and it's it's fucking fascinating it's fascinating that game is rad that game is absolutely super cool as the killer

like i'm talking to page page is no interest in playing the killer at all at all and we're watching each other's games and they go i didn't know you could do that oh that's how that like it you really should if you if the anybody's at home thinks about trying it out play both a little because like particularly as a survivor getting to see like oh wait how does the perk actually work on the killer's end makes a big difference so for example and this will be the last thing i say as a survivor it's actually fairly confusing what michael

mires is doing in the map because michael mires's ability is to stand still and look at you right but as he stands still and looks at you he's building up stacks right to buff himself okay and every time he gains a new rank the halloween theme plays right right and when he hits max rank he can down you in a single hit instead of two which is the biggest deal ever but his gameplay style revolves around i don't hear michael i look michael is right there and he is staring at and he's not even making an effort to chase me to move right right and then

later in the game oh he just stabbed me and i'm dead that's bullshit that's broken which is exactly what the fucking movies yet right they've done a really good job emulating those things like freddy has to bring you into a dream world to to get you stuff like that but yeah and it's like oh my god michael's so busted you can't hear him coming and then when he's dead what but then you play as michael and you're like it is a massive pain in the ass to get those stacks because it's all the times that you're standing there staring at someone

is times that you could be chasing and stabbing them but you're not you're instead you're building stacks you have to be in a place where they will notice you yeah no no you can you can do it silently but they get out they get a sound cue when they're being stared at okay uh that game is radical it's it's uh all first person right uh it is first person for the killers it's third person for the survivors okay which lets them hide way better these lets them get into lockers and then just spin the camera

around yeah yeah okay that game's great man that's that's yeah that's a weird one where it's just like and then the official licensed game has less licensed characters the official licensed game has one big advantage and that's they're able to tailor the whole game to the one franchise yeah whereas in Dead by Daylight they add michael and his power is really cool and and he gets a map which is the the halloween like street but there's only so much you can do and in in tailoring the whole game to

jason they also get to really go into the nitty gritty specific details of like each version of him that leads to like if you're a fan of the franchise you can like be like oh fuck it's that specific probably the most disappointing that specific kill it is obviously a result of the licensing thing freddy amanda michael and leatherface have no visual customization options of any kind yeah yeah yeah because fuck you yeah yeah of course they don't uh cool and that's it for me

the online connection that needs to be uh on for the demo to work so when you say you can die as much as you want you can die as many times you want it'll just restart you at a checkpoint or the beginning of the demo but the only thing that matters is a 30 minute timer from the time oh got it got it got it okay okay so it's one shot in a timer yeah gotcha and it's like it's it's probably i'm gonna assume it's the e3 build right and there is a definitive end to that though i don't think anyone e3 actually reached it probably because they only

this is too hard and i'm like is this literally just the sound of dark souls one players going through dark souls one again or right or is the mod actually fucked up yeah right um apparently there is a straight up new boss in this mod so here's the thing though there's no new assets however yeah right they they pulled assets from uh old content or cut content or what have you so to to bring this to bring this uh the story around dark souls uh has had a mod on pc that is a massive rework of the entire game and uh it's ambitious as fuck apparently it's been in development for two years yeah and uh it promises new progression world changing events new bosses and enemies designed to promote novel gameplay new npcs and storylines new weapons items and

mechanics expanded lore written to build upon but not conflict with existing lore new secrets spanning multiple playthroughs so uh i went a little deeper on the author's description and he's like listen when i say there's like double the content i'm not saying the game is twice as long i'm saying the amount of changes that i've made is almost as many as are in the game so like item remixing or enemy remixing or this bonfire is not here now it's here stuff like that probably the most fascinating thing about the mod from an early look at people complaining about it is that the first bonfire in the parish you know the one that you kick is apparently not there anymore okay and that alone gives me a clutch of anxiety okay so i imagine that the people that

have been going through like the random item rot mods right like plague and stuff over the years have been looking or waiting for something as overhaul as massive as this did you see plagues last dark souls lp how fucked it was was it the random item one no it was the random item one plus the aggression mod plus perma grave lorded plus uh there's something else but like it was the one where every enemy is grave lorded to their maximum and they're all rushing at you at like an infinite aggro range the instant you walk out a door and the items are remixed wow and he beat it wow and it's like fuck i mean you i mean look it's all still it's still dark souls it's still trial and error right like so you can still learn ultimately what's going to

happen and then do what you need to do to like play properly and avoid death so i'm not surprised but uh boy is this an a fuck like the idea of something that has called the all fathers parish now instead of the undead parish for example yeah we just saw it on the we're watching this guy stream well the fact the fact that uh there's multiple uh lp multiple game spanning multiple playthrough spanning uh things yeah maybe there's a secret boss that only shows up when you get to the fucking well none of the game plus two none of the official games have had that right one uh two did two did two had a new game plus that was different it was the only one to do it huh and it's what the fuck is happening what are you looking at oh we're looking i'm looking at the

screen the dragon and the dragon flew away it flew away yeah and i'm baffled so again no new assets but new status new new items and objects and boss fights and encounter types using existing assets and weird things and stages and transitions and such and so forth so i will probably take a look at this on stream at some point because it's so weird scholar of a different sin uh the old apparently there are mechanical changes to make it closer dark souls three which is cool oh it's it's not new okay well as i have recently gone through dark souls three again um and played dark souls remastered immediately before that there are a lot of mechanical movement changes in the dark souls games that a lot of people didn't appreciate because those games came out

far apart um the biggest is the way you drink estus and the diagonal rolling like uh like you know in dark souls one you can only roll in the four directions i thought you'd say the the jumping nah you jump very little you jump very little in these games okay it's no big yeah so doa daughters of ash um cool ambitious i respect even if it's really bad yeah it's still ambitious you know and and it's still like a uh it's a thing that you get how do i put it like like people want to play this game again in ways that they can experience things they've never experienced before in fact i'd say this is one of the few games in the world where people are desperate to have that first experience again even though they never can and uh this game has

become something like i any attempts to do that like castlevania welcome like one and all the the or one of the older mega man's in terms of like it's old and it's super classic but you'll never get that feeling again and all the sequels were not ironically not similar enough for some people if this is the project m of dark souls oh yeah there it is then uh who knows maybe there'll be other massive like remakes that groups of people get together and try to plan out so we're watching another footage of this streamer man playing through uh the parish and the change meant the the change meant the change to the inside of the parish church he was fairly interesting yeah actually yeah he walked into the place where the lizard men should be and some other shit happened

because arc fucking sis is behind it and so it's like you've got a franchise right we talk about how side games is taking over everything you've got a thing it's called grand bloom fantasy and you're like i want this to be a real thing though not just a phone thing so then you go let's make a fighting game get arcs just to make it and then let's make an adventure game and get platinum to make it okay guess what guess you're now a thing it's a real thing now uh you get it congrats money wasn't enough you wanted recognition and now you're getting it yeah so this this this thing looks interesting because it's got the same you know obviously the same people behind dragon ball fighters making it look as pretty as it does but it looks more 3d on purpose but cel shaded 3d exactly yes so this is

not trying to emulate like an anime art style with uh like toriyama art or guilty gears like like style it's going for something that is more deliberately 3d and it looks awesome it's very pretty um it does have the it does have the um uh uh uh the guilty gear hit stop thing in effect as well yeah where it's like deliberately uh chop your animation at points where it's meant to just like have the impact feel harder so you're seeing characters like stuck in their uh key frames yeah of animation to emphasize certain moments as opposed to being too smooth but then other animations look for perfectly smooth so watercolor that's what i'm trying to think of it looks like 3d watercolor so arches knows what they're doing god it's so gorgeous yeah uh grand blue fantasy uh versus

and it seems like there's a focus attack style mechanic where you can absorb a hit and return one and then it leads to a knockdown or rather to a crumple so already people are like trying to analyze this trailer and figure out the uh the mechanics and stuff but honestly this this like the way that this is coming out is in such a way of like i can just pretend the gacha game doesn't exist yes however there will be a lot of people that are like no this person has this character history and then it's like whatever yeah is this happening because of fate if you want to know the true plot you've got to play the gacha no i'm good no you've got to put money in the machine that life is behind pat now you've got to watch the cards pop out and feel good about the colors

also reminds me a little battle fantasia yeah a little bit well because of the fantasy aspect yeah sure um excited excited to play this i'm excited for all arc system work games exactly like this is this is the i like i can't believe i'm going to be excited about two grand blue fantasy games and not at all care about the world or characters of grand blue fantasy let me ask you a question moley yeah this might be a hard question to answer because we love street fighter but is the arcsys logo now a straight up more reliable indicator of a fighting games quality than the capcom logo because i can't think of the last arc system works game that i looked at that i was disappointed by in any way even blaze blue which i don't particularly like

advice recently regarding to pulling trigger on projects you want to get done has helped me out a lot hey that wasn't you guys that was me bodie no i said that too okay i said that to you okay me and a couple friends have been tossing around the idea of starting a local for fighting games in arizona and because of your advice we decided to go through with it yeah now we're sitting about a month away from our first tourney with 97 people interested that's good thanks a million wouldn't have been able to have the courage without you guys saying what you did now my question is that's a new to what some advice you could give to running a successful tourney and the things uh you guys love seeing at tournaments i'll love bodie when that guy the red bull shows up and

says he can handle the money do not trust him don't do that uh please we'd love a plug if you could but don't feel obligated guard crush gaming is the name of our page on facebook there you go bodie uh yeah i i mean there's a lot and this can go on for a very yeah this is quite a big question very but just i'm i'm going to try to summarize rolling off the top uh make sure that the person running your stream is competent and capable and is not going to fuck you over in terms of bullshit disconnects or uh who knows what is a million ways you can get fucked over with a stream make sure you have an experienced streamer archiving it for you and broadcasting for you make sure that your commentary uh people are i mean it's your first tournament though never

mind i'm going crazy with that that's way too far sorry that's the it's your first tournament that's way way way the most important thing uh uh uh is is you're running the brackets make sure that everyone can see the brackets and knows what's up information is key make sure people know when they have to fight and where people that are late do not tolerate bullshit as a to people will run out to mcdonald's and come back and be half an hour late for their bullshit don't stand up for it it doesn't matter how good of a player you are you weren't there you that's it you have to play it hard you have to play it fair um let everyone know exactly how much time they have let everyone know if they're like hey okay you played now you your second match is going to be in a while like

let let them know but don't tolerate the the the you know the garbage if you've given them a fair warning uh slash if someone has texted them to let them know that they're up soon or something like that it's like when you go to the you go to the doctor you go to a clinic right and they're like your point you know walk in right they're like okay we're gonna get to you in like three hours you're like so i'm gonna come back in three hours they're like if you are not here when your name is called you can go get fucked because we're gonna skip right the fuck over you um uh so come back in two hours yeah obviously don't have shenanigans with payouts make sure that the money is kept in a safe place with the right people pay out your winners immediately um you know don't let Blanca

players in don't shake hands don't touch him don't look him in the eye depending on the style of your tournament you may need to institute a bathing policy uh make sure uh that you that you uh uh it's safe to just kind of go with evo rules in terms of gameplay and stuff yeah but for have your refs know what they're gonna what they're in for have to have a policy set in in advance so that like someone pauses you know exactly what everyone knows exactly what to do everyone knows exactly how to make the decision making go smoothly don't have any surprises where you're like oh fuck we didn't think about this yeah whatever rule set you tend to go with make sure that it's consistently known because if there's any discrepancy it's going to be a trash fire to deal with make sure

everyone knows uh whether how you feel about bringing in third party fucking weird uh controller converters and and shit that might take up extra time if you want to allow them allow them if you don't don't but make sure everyone knows about that and the number one fucking thing what is the number one thing we'll number one thing you're probably playing popular games that are going to be on ps4's always make sure that every player that sits down goes to devices and clears the devices before they start their match okay it's a pain in the ass what does that do sony doesn't want to help us out and it sucks but if they play the match and they didn't clear the devices and someone standing across the room turns their ps4 controller on and that interrupts the

game and play that is the fault of the players sitting at the setup oh wow because everyone plugs in their ps4 controller yeah and then you walk away you unplug it and then you turn it on to go plug in somewhere else if you plug in the controller to the ps4 and it then it turns orange and then you turn it on yeah generally you're safe but people don't always do that some people turn the controller on first plug it in sometimes it hits their pocket you know sometimes it hits their bag and the controller turns on and suddenly you're in the middle of a match and then it goes to a silent screen and everyone pretends that it's not their controller and they walk away because they don't want to get in trouble but tell your players always clear the devices and also

like to delete their devices after their match i would never have thought of that that's the number one thing it's the most important one um because people are fucking lazy and they're shitty about it and when they fuck up they don't want to take the blame so everyone pretends it's not their controller when it happens that's normal of course emphasize the clear on start and end of both of matches uh if you have a stick you don't have to worry about that but you have to worry about other people's controllers so that's my number one piece of advice for you a new tournament there's more but quite frankly that's all you really need to start i never would have thought of that and yeah that sounds disastrous that sounds awful it sucks because neither player is responsible

for it but they are and then they have to just usually agree to let the game resume but it tilts of course does it fucking tilts it resets the momentum to whatever yep and on a macro level hey sody fucking stop just make a button that desyncs all the bluetooth devices they contacted them literally capcom was like we on behalf of players want a desync all fucking button please and sody was like you already have a desync button they're like no no no desync all they're like no you can just do the one that's there it's like but this makes our lives harder and you funded this game and they're like yeah well we that that deal is over capcom tough shit oh it sucks man all they need to do is a one button thing because you have to oh because what you have to do is it by the end

of the tournament if people don't desync their shit yeah you go in to start desyncing at grand finals yeah and you're gonna fucking spend 10 minutes yeah going through a list of 100 devices exciting where you press guide pause down x guide pause down x guide when it resets you to the beginning you can't just stay in the menu and start desyncing them you stay on the menu but you have to bring up that fucking forget menu every time and it it just takes for that sounds very bad so don't do it don't do it i don't like that uh yeah there's advice we got one coming in from your sneaky horse feet nice hey guys not sure when the podcast may come back but if in fact
