It's hello hello good afternoon hi there of uh how are you and how is everyone listening to this within the sound of our voice I'm doing okay I had a busy morning slaying demons out and about yeah so I'm gonna be very real I'm not super sure what's going on but it appears that a certain subset of the population has awakened on the 21st of December to some kind of super existence yeah so I made it back in time for the podcast but you know I had some some things to do in the you know in the after effect of awakening to justice so to speak but what is it that you don't understand who's getting superpowers and why mainly why well okay so for those of you who

don't know like Pat here as black people hello genetically we're stronger and smarter than everyone else so and we're more creative so as a result on December 21st our real DNA has been unlocked and the majority of you are soon going to see that we can do things that you once thought were fiction okay so the 21st is because what it's solstice or it's yule or it's the negro solstice it's the alright it's the closest that the blackest day of the year when Saturn and Jupiter are closest to each other and they appear to be as one and the unlocking of DNA occurs and that's how you learn who you are as a people you know because they want to make us average but the unlocking of DNA how to how to mixed race people fit fit into this mixed race is it under devil may cry rules

where they get like extra power power set but like slower I don't think so because that would imply a mixture of humanity and non-humanity amplifying the ability and I don't think that's what you're going for however I would say that perhaps it's maybe like maybe it's kind of like quarks you know uh-huh but I did I did also see people hypothesizing that mixed people already have their beauty powers so they're quite fine as is looking hotter hotter than the average person so I see yeah so I'm out of luck with the power thing well I mean my DNA will not unlock or it unlocked long ago it's well I mean it's you're not genetically stronger and smarter than everyone else or more creative so okay as someone who is on I can vouch for these things I can yeah uh-huh this feels

like a giant dunk on one dumb person that's correct this feels like one person said something real ignorant she sure did and everybody just decided you know what let's have a real fun with this it is the most appropriate response to some crazy ignorant shit I've seen in a long time for the collective black twitter to get together and you know the powers that range from like even the you know like even those with like only a little bit of time on their hands were able to find a nice little transparent koofy on on google and stick it on your favorite character or those with already established media careers were able to edit themselves displaying superpowers popping off doing the various things that your your favorite heroes can do videos of people doing

their superpowers yeah some people like super saiyaning some people like opening the avatar awakening uh some people just like good old-fashioned capes and justice league style you know everyone's got their own flex on it um but overall this is what's coming to be known as the negro solstice and that's soul I see with a with a you that's okay see that that so originally I wasn't on board but then you pointed out it uses you now I'm on there you go there you go that's much better that's a much better name so if you just go about your right twitch no um about the solstice maybe twitch was aware slightly in advance and started rolling out some rules maybe because but before

this gimmick popped off depending on what the the level of fear I should be displaying I literally went and bookmarked the twitch statement as a form of defense in which it turns out they're infringing on your business woolly in that twitch is now giving out soft r or soft a passes to the world well first of all I'm amazed at the fact that an official company statement has acknowledged the usage of hard r that is the first time that is I think probably the first time a distinction has been made officially on a terms of service and that is incredible secondly yeah it literally has the phrase use with a hard r uh secondly what you are referring to as my business was in fact a clientele list of addresses that I visited this morning and oh and business was handled

as the solstice is upon us it was a list of addresses to pay a future visit to and now that that's all taken care of we can start this podcast all right then yeah well well the last week we had a real fun podcast at the expense of one particular developer that is cd project red and I remember thinking to myself I thought to myself I said pat that sure was a lot of fun but there's no way we could get into a fallout 76 kind of oh yeah well that's week or two yeah kind of thing going on for sure for sure mm-hmm and I was right because where fallout 76 unfolded over the trip of a what was it six month period drip feed trickle trickle trickle every week we're getting literally 10 news stories a

week oh by the way just but cyberpuff we are and just before we completely move on I would just like to thank uh that that said crazy person on twitter for giving me an excuse to hit the children up with karas dot mp4 because oh that's a good one people don't don't know about people don't know about karas that dot mp4 and tatsunoko yeah yeah they had to be hit with it you know every once in a while you're like what am I oh so there you go I'd like to uh before we talk about cyberpunk I'd like to ask my correspondent uh Zangief the dog what he thought of cyberpunk news this weekend Zangief if you have anything to say about cyberpunk could you please speak speak

oh yeah you do them over and over and over and over and they lock in so uh yeah I suppose then you know uh that's oh I misunderstood what you meant oh I do a high five for a reason so I suppose um that the that is going to be the tsunami uh this week for sure and there is there is much ado about about cyberpunk uh but before that weeks hey man I beat Yakuza like a dragon lad that games fucking incredible and I did see um an announcement right away I can just get it out of the way here but apparently the voice actor confirmed that uh Ichiban's gonna be the new protagonists from here on out yeah I believe that's the Japanese voice actor and it's a quote from Nagoshi where he looked at him he was like

hey man you're gonna be making me my living for 10 years okay okay well good um that game has some structural problems which I assume are the result of making a gigantic uh mega rpg in six months as a goof um in that uh the game is really really easy for about uh 11 of 15 chapters and then tells you you will level five levels per chapter or die and it and like the the the the the the the the the gameplay loop just shoots straight up at like chapter 12 um but aside from that pacing issue whoo this is like in the run for like best yakuza game period like it's it's and and has what may be the second dumbest twist in yakuza history which you're not super familiar

with the history with the the games there are some dumb motherfucking twists in these stories so it's it's it's of note that it can it might hit number two uh also of non-spoilery note Kaiji Tang a voice actor which I have now become much more familiar with because he uh voices Ichiban and he voices uh I think he voices Hiji Yama in uh 13 sentinels yeah yeah yaki soba pond yeah is the first voice acting performance since death stranding that I would say can compete with the diehard man's speech in Japanese no in English okay it's I feel like I don't know about you but I feel like we might be on the same wavelength here that the diehard man scene is kind of a barometer I will be able to go back to over and over

and over in the future of when the game says I trust the voice actor to just go diehard man kiney yeah something Ichiban okay okay like it's it's it's way up there um so yeah it's it says a lot about the context of like I you know I was laughing the finale episode that I recorded or streamed rather um was the beginning of the the fucking cyber dunk nightmare with sony pulling the game and all that crap and then I went on and beat it and was like this game's incredible and they made a world-class rpg as a joke as an April fools gag but like it's literally unbelievable but I mean is that narrative true like yes they came out in an interview said it was going to be a more normal game

and then when they saw the reaction to the April fools joke they just went with it they pivoted the gameplay to an rpg the original story had planned for Ichiban to have a huge cast of characters as well so they they had like casts that could fill in as party members so it was a much easier thing than had they just had you know the the usual story which is Kiryu and maybe one other guy I think but yeah it was totally a beat them up until that April fools video I mean I I think um you can see examples of like how easily uh something that's action does can convert into turn based as long as you you know like you just kind of set the the parameters up in such a way that like the the rhythm of how of what you're attacking does enough damage that it's it ends

up being a fair fight uh but like ff7 remake it kind of shows you how you know you can switch back and forth between those uh those lines really simply the excuse the series felt like the most obvious and easy to transition of that type of genre ever because you played enough zero like there are like 300 heat moves in yakuza zero and all you have to do is pick like 30 of them and give them to each character and you're fucking done yeah that game's incredible turning that that's up it up for me in game of the year contention it's it's fantastic turning turning a lot of dynamic actions that are you know very contextual into a series of menus essentially is is not the hardest reduction to make it's also wild because you get to see like where the battle system I don't know

how to describe it but like you can see where they took the old engine and just forced it into like a fucking rpg square mm-hmm like where enemies uh can get kicked like if there's a tough enemy and you beat on them long enough you can push them like literally two three blocks down the street uh but your your party will always run back to the start of the battle arena so you end up like running like for 30 seconds to get to them and then you hit a max limit and then the enemy will just teleport back towards your characters but you're not actually like walking around during the fight are you your no no your characters are all automatically just you're locked into your rpg spot yeah okay yeah uh it's

it's really cool it's just it's just neat okay now that i'm playing dragon quest 11 yeah they they clearly to like speed up the process of how do we make a really good rpg is they just took every idea they could from dragon quest mm-hmm now um i don't think it's gonna happen what with uh you know only a couple days left on the clock but i i do want to let you know that 13 sentinels is a fucking solid game of the year contender oh i i agree even though i dropped off of it because i feel like i want to just sit down and and play through the whole rest of the game uninterrupted which i might do this week honestly um it was very obviously a game of your contender we are in the eye of the storm right now and um

just nothing but nothing but quality the whole way through isn't it great when you're like man this is totally a goatee contender man and then you mention that to somebody and they go what game is that is that that anime game and you're like i'm gonna die i'm just gonna die in my heart now i fortunately haven't experienced that but i also haven't really been talking to people you will i mean i think i think people might remember like i remember when um i was in the the the offices back in the day and uh vanilla ware stuff was coming out so odin sphere dropped you know and then like there was a group of us that were like just wouldn't shut up about it talking about like how

beautiful it was and people would see our wall papers and just be like oh what the hell is that whoa that looks really pretty it's fucking odin sphere yeah yeah you know and then i think like we kind of recruited some people to being aware of what vanilla ware is you know from that point and then uh later around the time like mora masa was coming out i was like oh yeah cool like those people are back you know um so it it it's it's still a very under the radar release because i don't think vanilla ware releases will ever not be because they're just their atlas games right they they land in that well it's a it is in that space de facto niche right it's a visual novel yeah yeah visual novels uh um you know rpg uh our rts rather and robots um yeah so it's gonna

fall into that but i still think that like i don't know it's it's it's one of those things that like any but that i think you can recommend to people outside of the the the demographic and still grab them you know it do you like sci-fi stories is the only qualifier i would ask someone in the same way because that like something like stranger things could appeal to people that are not necessarily fans of the the references in stranger things i think 13 sentinels can be that you know although the although the the combat would get a little bit complicated i think uh to someone who was unfamiliar but still a fantastic journey you know yeah i would say that if you do not like a sci-fi plot that uh 13 sentinels might be concentrated arsenic for your brain

uh because i can't think of a game that has a more sci-fi plot yes this is true ever literally ever but and i i like i played v l r and fucking deus ex and though that that shit ain't ain't sci-fi for shit compared to fucking 13 yeah no 13 sentinels is literally running down a checklist of every major sci-fi film or work and seeing how many references it can get um but i think like when it comes to the uh ridiculous twists and turns of the plot that happen overwhelmingly often uh i learned a lesson from the popularity of lost in that it's like no surprisingly people are down for that kind of headfuckery you know it's not just full-on lynch it's like a series of nonsensical drops that uh are basically just you know meant for you to like come back again next

week but in this case they actually go somewhere you know um that thing actually works on large audiences and before lost i wouldn't have thought it would have but anyway that's a detour from what you're saying yeah i mean yakuza is great it's uh it's uh it's gonna be great uh i can i can easily see the future of that series having um um i fucking uh talk and um and uh ichiban as two playable characters in either alternating games or the rpg side of the game versus the action side of the game uh judgment guy why can't i i can't remember his fucking full name whatever judge eyes he's got the eyes judge eyes man and when you walk by him he does that cool

face where he stares at you and tracks you down yeah why can't i remember yeah i got me yeah got me okay yeah it's cuz uh it's cuz his buddy always calls him talk and i'm like uh uh cool um incredible okay uh that it i also play dragon quest 11 s a ton of it um you know that's a old school s rpg that is very high quality very high quality rpg that is old but also new um how's toriyama's character designs doing laughable yeah like it's it's charming but like the plot is spoiled by the designs like there are two knights in the game that are chasing you and i can tell which one is the evil one and which one is not the evil one based off of their eye shape okay because one has the the

villain look is it the other has the like the vegeta look yeah i was gonna say like is it like is it like the childhood photo of a rochi maru hanging out with jiraiya and sunade you're just like uh huh yeah that kid totally fine totally normal that kid's gonna be it's like mm-hmm i'm looking at these these these arts and it's like it's very high quality and it's very charming but at the same time it's like i feel i feel like toriyama at this point in his career is literally just playing mr. potato head with 95 percent of characters at a certain point it does kind of become that to the uh to the point where i'm i wouldn't be surprised if like random NPCs were not designed by him but were designed by uh people that have a collection of his features

oh yeah they're that you can you you swap their head their fat this are their their um their hair their face their body type etc so um gabe from uh penny arcade showed off uh some of his behind the scene stuff and i remember uh one time he pulled up in a collection of these are my gabe mouths these are my taiko eyes and my taiko face shapes and like you do actually have like some simplified recognizable and limited shapes that you just kind of can build a whole thing out of you know um so if they had people with like a toriyama set of layers to kind of slide together in photoshop they could build some NPCs there's one exception to the toriyamaness and it's a character that looks visually different and is so out of context with the rest of the

planet that i think dragon quest games come from that i feel like they are someone's pet project and it's silvando yeah i'm looking at a character you may have heard of looking at a picture silvando feels like he is from a fucking different universe this looks like a character from skyward sword yeah silvando yeah 100 you know how rpg characters can occasionally steal the show from the main cast like you know the everybody's got their favorites in ff7 but that's a nice all-star cast but then you get a lot of other rpgs in which there's like the cool character and it's like well you're gonna build your party around the cool character silvando is so much better than every

other character in every role in dq11 that it becomes the yeah yeah whatever shut up what's silvando doing nice show and for a old school series like dragon quest uh that is scored by an 88 year old evil bad war denier man i did not expect a character like silvando in that game because silvando might be the first party member in a japanese game that is the strongest party member while also being a flaming queen he calls every party member darling he's like half a step away from calling you han he is aggressively flaming and he is the best he's killing it

there really is like i'm i think of a lot of rpgs where like you've got like a party member that's just like well you're gonna be on the team for the whole game and it doesn't matter what else is going on just because you're the cool one um he's the cool one yeah yeah he'll he'll he'll like he'll man up his voice like deepen it from his usual cadence he's usually like kind of queeny cadence to like make fun of the more macho dickhead members of the game's story yeah and then go right back to like the higher pitched like uh darling like kind of kind of tone and i've played a lot of japanese games and a lot of japanese rpgs in which the instant i see a character like silvando i get the pit in my stomach which is the

oh fuck i hope it's not that guy from enchant arms again or oh man i hope it's not those persona dudes right but no oh like over the top um um a character is kind of like a parody yeah parody parody basically a homosexuality as parody right right right uh and then no silvando is cool and then he shows up to the the like the second appearance ever in a in a fucking horse race and he saunters up and his horse unlike all the others dressed in armor is wearing a fucking like mardi gras peacock outfit and he's really strong he almost won that goddamn race he's just great who else uh would you put in the like your party member job is the cool one

uh frog joins the party and you he's just your that's it too bad frogs in the party frog and then later magus magus later magus and frog um yeah ball ther from ff12 oron oran oh oran's like the pinnacle like you're just not leaving the only he's the only cool person no no not true kimari is cool but he's just not that effective no kimari is cool but he's not effective no uh in oran oran absolutely doesn't leave in yakuza there is a jungi han who is the guy who looks like virgil okay who is virgil mm-hmm mm-hmm mm-hmm straight up uh like the cool one uh yeah sylvan does great he's absolutely fantastic and he's like he's like elevating

what would be like a great game to like a stupendous game um where when i saw him i was worried he was gonna elevate a great game into embarrassment okay like you know like the fucking uh like man i sure do love star ocean yeah yeah yeah what's that limo you want nappy time mm-hmm excuse me while i have to burn memories of this entire franchise from my soul hk-47 definitely uh seph from lost odyssey 100 percent um i kind of think the whole party in skies of rikadia is awesome

i don't know anything about the skies of rikadia they're all pirates it's great yeah that sounds nice yeah they show up in valkyria chronicle they're they're cool they they they they they they they they're they're they're doing it um yeah man no there's uh oh yeah rex rex mm-hmm there's always the the one you know and yes of course who would we be if we didn't mention gino of gino world fame oh man you hit the gino world just right dude that does like how many how many damages it do how many nines 9999 holy fuck holy fuck that's not even true for the why are you lying why are you lying i don't know in the back of missus who

gives a shit in the back of missus smith is math math class gino why are you lying about the damage i've never seen the game count that high you're lying gino can't do that much no such a fucking stupid idiot also give me back my homework stop copying it i'm glad you're all upset i'm gonna get in trouble but we're we're kind of jumping the gun on this um now i think gino's cool i'm not i don't i'm not a gino hater at all i played that game relatively recently and i feel no love for gino he was the uh he was he was the you know unexpected random new character that showed up and hung out with the mario party but he was like not a mario character or a marshmallow so you know so cool but no one in that game is cool but i don't think the word cool is a word i

would use to describe literally anything at super mario or gino gino ends up being like the cool one by default because you've got mario characters and you've got malo you know uh as your choice as your choices so you're pretty much gonna you're like oh well here's this the the cool one but he's he's the guy he's there you know but i but i he's cool i do like i do like gino but yeah it's pretty much my week i played yakuza you like a dragon i uh i played uh what do you call it uh a dragon quest oh i got another back for blood alpha what's that uh it's left for dead three made by turtle rock it's just literally left for dead three but uh it's called back for blood it's an alpha now and how's the left for death has a ways to go yeah has a ways to go yeah

has that has that style of game not like gotten left behind by like major steps in the genre so the funniest thing about it is that uh the uh during the vgas they did the back for blood alpha trailer and then an evil dead game got announced that was also left for dead and then the dark tide gameplay trailer came out which is the left for dead game in 40k by vermin tide people like like bam bam bam bam bam hmm so if you like that genre there will be many games of that genre in the nearest future pve co-op shooter yeah vermin tide carried that torch for a while but instead of zombies it's rats and occasionally chaos men and warhammer mostly rats inducted warhammer lore

yeah that's why like when when vermin tide came out uh everybody that i knew that was into that was like yeah but 40k though right and then he came out with vermin tide too which is much better and it's very good and then everybody was like man oh they added chaos cool but 40k though right and then they're gonna come out with with dark tide like like next and that's the 40k one no wait so space marines shooting rats that have leveled up no no no no no no it's first of all you you can't play as a space marine in a game like that because the fuck it would actually it would actually be terrible because space marines are too in canon like beefy um so i'm saying like i'm like what kind of rats you know oh no they

won't be rats that's why it's called dark tide instead of vermin tide okay it'd be uh it'd be nergal nergalites is that the word i'm dead that'd be a bunch of chaos freakazoids zombos it's probably yeah okay sure you could do that um yeah it's been my week okay watched a lot of documentaries about dangerous roads turns out driving sucks ass if the street is under three or four feet of water yes if the water is at the bottom of your door you're gonna have a bad time yeah carve was not made to do that you gotta get one of those i'm not a i'm not a uh driver man i don't know how how much water is bad water you gotta get one of those um

steve austin boat trucks that can just convert yeah yeah i don't have to do that uh i had a week a couple things yeah tell tell me tell me about your week willy uh so first and foremost uh the guilty gear lore heaven or hell episode two has dropped it is now available you can go watch it if you're following along this picks up right after the end of the first video so this is the story of guilty gear x basically the uh the introduction of dizzy and everything about the immediate post crusade era um happy that's finally done and and and out there uh boy you know the the intensity of uh the editing is no joke here but uh yeah i do want to cover the whole story so you know um i didn't intend for it to be two months apart from the first one

but shit takes time uh it's it's a lot of verification there's a lot of info out there that's either a untranslated or b incorrect excuse me uh and c everything goes through the arksis like you know a machine and makes it up to the desk and uh the man himself has got to read it verify that it's okay and then come back with some changes and all that has to go through a translation process so uh yeah the the the the hope is to get these out faster but uh if you haven't seen it already check out the uh latest episode of heaven or hell guilty gear lore you didn't think guilty gear was convoluted and stupid before i'm making i'm making sense of the of the nonsense as best as i can you know uh i literally clicked a random part of that video

and saw testament kneeling at cliff's grave yeah and you said his father cliff underson and i exclaimed fuck off that's bullshit it's super real and then closed it it's i didn't know that extraordinarily real and and major uh in his in his character arc which sadly doesn't really go anywhere after these first two games but he did have a pretty solid one you know uh yeah yeah that explains the scythe choice actually um his name was given to him because he was intended to be uh the the one who would bear witness to cliff's deeds and his last will and testament essentially so he was named as such but it's not biological father he's a he's a he's a he cliff found him as an orphan on the battlefield

so ah biology's overrated but just to say like you know that's that's what it was he he he took him in out of uh the benevolence anyway um my brain is just stewing stewing in that stuff but like i think i mentioned before like the the the the probably the best part of it is just hours upon hours of guilty gear music that's all great to listen to and uh it's all pretty good it's it's just a fucking banger after banger it's it's hard to pick what to not waste now or what to save for later in a way but uh yeah it's good shit um so there's that that also uh i can say that yes i have uh i have finished off the desk remake and i'm on my new game plus and uh i have uh i actually i have some feelings about some things i i think the remake

was stellar i think it was um i we said it before but just to reiterate it is understated how amazing the environments and lighting are in that game um they did uh a ridiculously beautiful job with just the the atmosphere of everything um and again it it helps to be playing it you know on a ps5 with fucking everything hdr and pretty uh but yeah you really get an appreciation for all those zones like like you know uh like never before um the changes are what they are and i think the fat minister ends up being like one of the major the biggest uh letdown ones specifically the last fat minister the the the runaway guy yeah um one that is laughing up close and then his face isn't laughing um but i would say um i my biggest downgrade moment

is astrea um for two really important reasons i feel uh one i don't know if it was a bug but i i don't think it was because i saw other people ran into this but one uh garl doesn't talk when you walk up to him you walk up to garl and he doesn't for me he said nothing you swing at him you go he had no lines whatsoever so i was like what the fuck that was such a great moment and nothing happened there i got no garl vindeland lines so i'm like well that fucking kind of killed the moment and then the second seems like it is a mistake huh because i checked online and i had to see if other people ran into this and i saw other people posting yeah how come he had no lines what what happened you know people are also saying that he only talks to you if you are a human

really he doesn't talk to you in soul form apparently it's an old bug oh well that's a fucking man great grain of salt obviously i don't know yeah if that's true i don't know what the what the confirmation is on that if that's reliable or not i gotta gotta check with spy but if so then like okay because yeah i was human last time but that's a fucking great moment that uh it would suck to not get and then second more obviously is they changed the music and the music they replaced it with is nowhere near as uh strong as the original choice it's a completely different tone um like it's this bit i think that honestly in terms of the the musical quality of that encounter uh like just based on the track like purely like listening to the two tracks i think that new

track is fantastic it is it's a beautiful moment in score but it's not that baroque theme that feels melancholy the original was like hey man you know what instrument doesn't get used a lot the fucking harp escord we're gonna make a really intense harp escord track uh whereas the the the new one is a lot more orchestrated with a lot more music and the the harp escorts kind of kicked to the back but more than that uh i think it has a real encounter it's isn't it's isn't it harpsichord whatever it's the fucking the shit piano uh the shit piano for babies all right um but more than that is that the new track takes like a minute or more to get going

and team counter is usually over by then like it might be depends on how good like you can handle the original track like girl you got with that that the the meat of it within two seconds like right walking in yeah um girl the easiest way to deal with girls such as perium or run past them and like you i barely got to hear the track at all um yeah i'm thinking about like you know first encounter moments with that and uh yeah the the the replacement track just doesn't cut it i also didn't like the um you know how the nexus track changes to once you are like able to access the the end game um yeah that new track as well wasn't as wasn't as good so you know but that was that was uh not as as major but like i feel like those two things really affected the

the the astrea fight but you know it's not it's not going to be perfect if i had to make a separate complaint and this is across the entire soundtrack um demon souls had a really unique sound because it used so much uh so much brass uh which has been downplayed in all the new tracks like demon souls is probably the only uh the original demon souls probably only game soundtrack i could ever think of where i'm sitting there going is that a fucking tuba for this boss are they actually using a fucking tuba and that that that tone is definitely not present in the new tracks a judicator i don't remember them well enough uh i feel as if i i i do remember a lot of you know i feel as if um the horns yeah no like uh uh original got so much right uh for it being like

you know a brand new like game structure idea uh and so much in terms of tone was nailed outright um for for all the you know uh uh but like for everything that like those moments kind of lose there um the entire um the entire uh uh prison into uh uh you know tower up to the monk oh yes the best level transition in history is now even more the best that whole zone is magical like i'm of the belief they never topped that level ever in any game they ever made because man it's perfect uh latria it's it's kind of like there's so many moments too where you just stop to like you know go to camera mode and just look around at like the the the floating everything man it's it's just gorgeous it's fucking gorgeous uh really really um

you know felt the improvement in that level more than any you want to fucking talk about audio improvements latria features the single best audio improvement in the entire remake by replacing fucking riddles every fucking second with like a much more muted one that doesn't help me please oh my fucking god help me yeah uh and um some character like the changes to some voices are interesting like i feel like um some people like it's weird like ostrava got less douchey right original ostrava sounded more stuck up princely and new ostrava is more humble which i think it depends on i like it i like new ostrava more because of that humility but some might say that well he's supposed to be a prince though so it would make more

sense that he is kind of spoiled um yeah i can i understand i take both i understand arguments i understand either one but like personally i just like new ostrava because i like the character so i prefer i like the the the humble image of him kind of like throwing himself hopelessly against this lost cause you know um so i feel very strongly about uh this this topic because what they did is they went and got every voice actor they could and re-recorded all the air audio so most of the time with a few exceptions it's the same actors re-reading the same lines 11 years later or maybe you know 10 years later um and i was on the kajima frequency recently in which we talked about twin snakes and uh it is my stance that um you can't win with re-recorded audio

because it'll never be the same because it's not because it's nostalgia points and it's very rarely so much better that you're you're gonna offset the fact that it's not the same mm-hmm like twin snakes as a as a great example like even without the mailing part of the conversation uh people were angry about the re-reads as a whole it just i don't like almost any of oslo's re-reads hmm i know that don't like them yeah so again you're just like well my memories say this and this is what it was and you know it's so it if it's the same people doing a different take of something and they end up choosing something with different energy um yeah it can it can end up just making a moment that you remember strongly for one quality be completely

different um you can't you really do you you can't win but if the quality of what you originally recorded is not usable in a modern context yeah it's like 96 kps you have no fucking choice you know yeah you got you can't just go oh well it sounds like garbled fucking real player but we're gonna use it for if it's faithful this like they at that point oh you know i uh i do want to in this voice acting discussion there's something i want to talk about for yakuza 7 they if you are a fan of the yakuza series or don't care about the yakuza series and can just look it up if you ever doubted the power of the voice director and the way that lines are being recorded to fit into cutscenes you can check out there are a couple characters in yakuza 7

that are from yakuza 1 that got their dub actors back from yakuza 1 and the astonishingly like better characterization of those characters with the new dub versus the old dub is like what was the context they had to read under what were the line reads they were being told that yakuza 1 had a very bizarre situation where they're all told to read the line sequentially or some shit like that was the director a native speaker and were they choosing their their line choices based on you know an understanding of intonation or not yeah and what's interesting is that there were very few characters that there were very few voice actors that they that were interested at all at coming back from all that time ago

i think the funniest thing is that you know mar camel played majama back in yakuza 1 do you ever see that interview where somebody asks him how how he felt about that role no it was like from three four years ago he's like who what you yakuza what the what game 2005 i don't know man like that that shit is gone yeah okay it's about right that's about right well uh yeah i think he's done so much fucking voice acting um i still think uh that lady behind the the pillar in front of um fucking holy man there um oh saint whatever um bossa oh the the the true believer yeah yeah yeah who's just fucking check she's um boss she's just

she's just simping just checking out checking out oh excuse me don't say that excuse me excuse me excuse me that was a uh unintended unintended uh you know you mean she was giving her tier three subs to saint urbane that's correct that's correct saint urbane yes um bossa hey like did was there not clarification that um mere usage in common context is not an issue it's for people that are harassing and have been given multiple more warnings well we'll have to get to that later won't we yeah i've been i've been i've been informed that apparently uh it's not for common parlance as much as it is for uh abusive usage so yeah well they also say you get permits for nudity and okay that's obviously not accurate as well

okay but i mean either way it doesn't hurt to fucking dodge it but shit like that is gonna happen i'm sorry it'd be how it is uh anyway so uh her reads are still fantastic she's always been incredibly thirsty and uh i i i i like i like those uh those lines um and stockpile thomas um changes for the better as well in my opinion yeah i agree he was a little too fucking grime in a weird way uh in the old one and like now he's just kind of the sad sap you're just kind of like yeah he should be a sad sad yeah yeah yeah so um but yeah overall you know um fucking just great great good ass fucking remake you know uh uh the area below is gorgeous uh i wish i wish i could untether the camera more and and really just

take it for a walk you know i wouldn't be surprised imagine there's a bunch of really good reasons why you can't i'm sure there are but i wouldn't be surprised as well if someone fig if someone mods some shit and figures out a way eventually to uh you know crack that open but it seems like right now they give you a like sphere of a cage that you can slide the camera around in and you can get some pretty good shots of the environments from that but uh yeah the ability to pull back out and kind of see like the old one and get a look at those fucking non-moving birds in there and all their glory would be wonderful because they don't fucking animate and they still don't and i kind of wonder like i'm like that's clearly intended that they did not want these

birds flapping because maybe they're not birds but boy does it look weird with all this uprising and upscaling and remodeling to have these just seagulls stuck in in wingspan just sliding around with the body of the old one and you're like all right uh sure you know fine no problem there um and yeah i think the only npc who doesn't actually have their lips moving now is uh the monumental which perfect yeah shouldn't yeah that makes sense um so yeah desks was desks fucking great super duper fun on that um enjoying the the new game plus run putting together the uh you know the the the northern regalia which i didn't get to do last

time yeah taking that for a spin going that's a cool stick mm-hmm and uh you know just getting getting acquainted with a couple of different styles of builds and stuff i think it's funny i think i fell into the same trap that everyone else does on there like first run of sort of like you know spreading yourself out a little too thin on your stats oh man it's bad if you spray there's no re-roll proper here you got to just level down and do it again but um but i did make sure to just hit minimums because the point of this character was to like test out stuff more than it was feeling out yeah you know exactly like like go all in on something so um patches is fucking great uh his like i was on i was i was torn on the facial animation stuff in desks

right up until i met patches and he's just doing his lines and then in between his lines he's looking at you going yeah yeah and you're like wow yeah wow fuck you patches hello then yeah no it's perfect the the the the lip thing it's like it shouldn't be there shouldn't be any mixed feelings on it it's stupid that it didn't exist to begin with and it's good that it's here now i i will take mgs one head bobbing over no movement whatsoever in mgs one the way they talk is they just bob their heads up and down like fucking cartoon characters and i will take that over nothing just bob their heads just mm-hmm mm-hmm um so that's uh that's desk and then yeah uh got get into fighting games went back and took a look at fucking bushido blade two

god that game is still great so much fun it's great so pure and there is nothing like playing it on the rooftop stage where there's no side stepping it's just verticality uh excuse me horizontal stage play and spacing it's just footsies and intention and it's so fucking pure bushido blade two rooftop rooftop stage only all characters all characters allowed pick your gunman and then do your best to fire before you get sprinted at and cut you know that's easy actually well you those characters are busted yeah they are but on that stage on that stage where you can only run straight back you have to turn around and aim and in that time i'm on your ass with a swing and anything counter hitting you while you're while you're pulling your gun up is death so

is that a 21 foot rule specifically on that stage i'll say any character is allowed yeah yeah as long as i can get within this many whatever the steps and and catch it 21 feet 21 feet 21 feet the 21 foot rule thing ended up being like a horrible tragedy you're familiar with the the video i'm describing where a guy is in his backyard playing with swords and saying oh man gun guys think they can do this but did you get within 21 feet you can cut him i just jumping around like i forget i forget what happened he tripped and fell on a sword and like like gouch one of his eyes out like maimed himself horribly he's he's still around though well i don't know why he's alive yes i assume yes but i have not seen any videos since the news that

running around and playing with swords in your backyard can lead to okay you know he didn't trip and pierce a laundry okay no he fell on to it yeah like like sideways you know like like hey you know there's a reason why your mom tells you not to run with scissors that's correct because she doesn't want you to have fun also you lose concentration meter it's true slowly walk with those scissors scare the shit out of the other kids that is not real advice don't do that let it build uh Bushido blade two is incredible uh get into fighting games we're gonna be doing an episode on that yeah just hold in your fucking safety seara scissors bury the lie deep within you're cutting out like a like a little you're cutting out like a dinosaur on a piece of paper

and so you will feel the scissors power yeah and then it's like you're going to recess but your friend has he forgot his shit and you're looking at your safety scissors like shall i entrust it to him it's wholesome fucking playground virtual anyway um yeah Bushido blade is going to be coming up a little bit later um and we also revisited a good old fighter called pocket rumble which that's a nice one yeah uh some of you guys may have may remember from checking it out uh back in the day it was released on steam and switch and it was uh that kickstarter from like i think it was 2014

so a long ass time ago um still waiting on that bass dlc but hey who knows oof but uh in the meantime the the game itself is very fun and uh the steam version has super functional good ass rollback in it so um you can you can you know play play flawless matches have a good time um it it really is a a a a solid simple fighter that pays homage to um the neo geopocket color fighters so king of fighters are two uh the last blade pocket game uh gal fighters um a lot of that stuff has a particular unique recognizable sprite style and this just like leans right into that you know um for the longest while i remember that when people were making their like sprite edit characters for like mugen and just like

fun graphics of stuff the places you would go were either mega man style or neo geopocket color style those were the two right templates you know and uh the neo geopocket style is wider it allows for more expression and designs and such that the mega man template is a little bit more like limited because it's obviously made for an older console uh but yeah so this takes uh after that style and um it just kind of makes for an amazing game because the roster is all super solid it's a nice cast of eight that are uh really fun designs that are super unique from each other and the best part about it is um every every simple fighter has its own like strengths and minuses in this case one of the biggest strengths is you go to the tutorial

in this game and it introduces you to the basic concepts and then every character's unique abilities and it takes about 20 minutes tops to go through the entire roster's like moves and abilities so that you understand what everyone can do immediately it takes so little investment of your time to get the whole thing right away and then once you see it and understand that you're like oh i know what all these characters do so i now i know what to look for when i'm fighting them and i know what to what to do when i'm using them um and that's something that like you know it's another aspect of fighting games that is not really often addressed is the part where um you know the game quote unquote begins not casually casually you can have fun doing whatever you want but uh the games quote

unquote begin when you learn the entire roster and what they can do you know um or at least your character and the character that you're fighting against in this one match yes like but like the specifics of how your matchup uh plays out is that's advanced i wouldn't even go into that direction i'm just saying that like if i'm playing you and i pick uh modoc and uh and night writer uh night night night writer sorry go ghost writer um no no you you said it right sure and and and uh tyrant nemesis and you don't know what i'm doing or you don't know what those characters do because you're just not used to seeing them then you're gonna have it's gonna be really weird because you're like well he can do anything right now i don't know what the fuck is gonna happen right

could be anything so um games with large rosters with a bunch of characters that like you're just like i have no idea what this person does or where this is gonna go or what to look out for i'm just gonna do my thing and hope that it works yeah and then you find out oh no this character is built around stopping your thing so um in this case yeah the games roster can be understood right away and so that's like its biggest strength i'd say um and then you just have a really fun game that just gets the fundamentals and a great time is had so uh tune in for that again to fighting games pocket rumble as well coming out later this week um and uh yeah the last thing i did was i i appeared on the red bull adrenaline stream this weekend it's a really good name for an event yeah they had a

street fighter tournament they had a a muddy fight federation tournament and a couple other things going on so i jumped on did a little interview to talk about the fgc and to talk about you know whatever general content creation and 2020 stuff it was a good time and then we played some among us with some other content creators um and i got to play and i trolled sharpie it was a good time and uh yeah if you want to uh i think you can check out the um twitch.tv slash red bull on their day two archives to see uh what we did and and stuff and it was uh it was a fun stream i had a good time with among us i learned about some tech uh in that game that is pretty fucking hard to fight in that when you get down to like say six people left lie i mean no that's your basics

stacking is almost undefeatable if your team is competent oh yeah we were down to six people left and um sharpie was like all right it's simple stack up two teams of three go finish the tasks together and we'll just win the game and then we start playing and like so i'm stacked up with two other people and then the other team goes their way and then there's me there's sharpie and then there's the third person who is like staying with the group but fidgeting and like running off camera and then running back on camera and clearly like panicking while the group is very simply easily clearly moving towards the objectives and it's like why are you having such a hard time keeping up with us uh i among us is a really good example of a game that completely falls apart

when you get organized groups of people playing it right that that game is designed to be played with completely random people who don't know each other with no game plan uh who are not familiar with stuff and might panic and might not know yeah totally like also if someone is familiar and they're surrounded with people who are not not only can that person take advantage of those things but that person also will be sounding will sound too sus if people are like you keep talking too much you know too much i just don't like you or trust you you know the overconfidence play can also come back to haunt you i have a i have a i don't i don't know if the person you were interviewing sorry you were being interviewed by asked you this at that event

but i have i have a esports question for you sir that i will pretend to have a microphone for hello woolly you seem to be into fighting games is that accurate no oh that's a shame i hear fighting games are are cool uh you played among us earlier what can fighting games do uh that they haven't done over the past couple decades to somehow reach the popularity that among us got overnight in like two seconds work that was a really good answer thank you um so that was a good time and uh yeah shout out to red bull that was fun so yeah um tune into

you're the co-pilot it's possible that reggie would be a natural which is kind of a bummer in its own right it's also possible that the man will have an ongoing near debilitating lack of direction which will necessitate constant left right adjustments a fate i would wish on no no one you say no one you say well uh what i can say is uh i believe in his abilities to assess a situation and find its weakness because again he is a competitive player he knows how to play the fight game and how to do the smash and other games really well so i can absolutely see his abilities coming into coming handy there and as far as navigation goes it's a good thing i have this map more or less committed to memory at this point through familiarity because the best

knew what was going on i think the few there's only one i ds3 dlc i think maybe no no ds3 was completely new okay well i remember i think it was around that time that like when you were running into some navigation issues that you were like oh boy losing confidence with that and never i would never have lost a confidence i would never have gotten lost for 20 ish minutes on a single staircase and near the end of that series i could never have gotten so lost on stream that it becomes burnt into my mind how embarrassed i was that i could not navigate out of a single turn staircase yeah i have no idea what you're talking about

due to a controversy over a winnie the pooh joke making fun of china's head of state they announced this and then four hours later gog.com came out with the statement earlier today it was announced that the game devotion is coming to gog after receiving many messages from quote unquote gamers emphasis mine we have decided to not list the game in our store oh christopher robin oh no a bunch of indie devs like pulling their games off the service or not going to that service in the future there's no honey to be found in this pot on gog not a single capital w the pooh gamers not all right capital x the pooh

sure sure strategy guide for cyberpunk's endings releases describing that 98% of the game's in-game dialogue has no change on literally anything at all in the game okay so the first one is weird because it's just a gog related thing that's like getting wrapped up in the in the story yes it's it's not about cyberpunk but it is the same parent company so they described that the game's endings are actually entirely dependent on a single dialogue choice that you make near the end of the game meaning that cyberpunk's ending situation is the same as mass effect threes obviously very popular ending um what you're also saying indirectly is that truer choices are offered by quantic dream games

this very very big truer truer true truer more true choices that is a unfortunate state of affairs yes uh following that on december 17th came the big one sony decides you know what everybody we are gonna offer all of you refunds for cyberpunk 2077 so that's where i would have started this because when we last left our heroes they were telling everybody to uh go ask sony for refunds leave us alone essentially and sony did not catch wind of this until the angry group showed up at their door and they're like they told us to come here and they're like what the fuck they told you to come here they didn't tell us that they told you to come here and people are like so what's gonna happen and then well okay guys everybody gets a refund yay and we're gonna

just pull the fucking game right off everyone gets a refund including the people who haven't bought it yet everybody gets a refund you get a refund and you get a refund if you were thinking about buying it yeah you here's your refund on spent money back in your pocket i'm a big fan of the the mentality that sony decided to delay cyberpunk 2077 manually well uh i mean that's that's what way of looking at it but not not uh not alone in that circumstance that's a big one because of course uh as soon as i saw that i'm like yeah you're looking at bad internal standings as stated last week you do not fuck around with conditional waivers on people um the hardware manufacturers are not gonna take kindly to that but at the very least well well i what if i did fuck around and then

told everyone that you would pay for well you who's gonna pay for it sony yeah uh the the the thing with the with the with the not fixing of the bugs and the waivers is that when that stuff happens behind the scenes in private it's still like away from consumers eyes and all in all there's negotiations happening and they can work it out with you the moment you do some stupid shit like actually make it a public thing now you are damaging the brand and you are hurting uh their bottom line by making people perceive the company as like uh taking their money and you know stealing from them essentially if they're not getting the value that they purchased and that is damaging and bad so now it's like okay you know what no fuck you and it becomes very

hostile and it was not a surprise at all to see that turn because um yeah so many things happen behind the scenes when games go to get shipped that get really heated and crazy going back and forth between publishers and hardware manufacturers but as long as it's not public facing it's all it all comes out in the wash and the next product you have the next game you have they're gonna look at it and i'll go well based on your history this is where we stand with you but you're still here you're still releasing this product um if cd project was a smaller studio uh that type of shit is grounds for getting your dev kits taken away free instantly license revoked done send them back please in this instance that's not what happened but they like just went okay

this is how you want to play it fuck your game then there it goes you're gonna really enjoy the next round of cert um then uh it all lies on microsoft right which is part b well part b is december 18th one day later xbox offers full refunds to everybody but does not pull the game due to what i assume personally is because they have a co-marketing deal with cd project and there's too many balls in the air to actually pull the game while having to advertise it for not being there what they do do however is uh remove um or rather they they update their refund policy for anyone who purchased the game so that like it's basically like yeah not going to be a stringent and they put a message up on the store which puts a little warning that says

let me get the exact phrasing essentially um hey if you're buying this game you should be aware that um users may experience performance issues when playing the game on xbox one consoles until it is updated oopsie whoopsie the game does a little bit of a fucking wucky please still buy it though what's part c later in the day best buy allows returns of open cyberpunk copies you know what's kind of nuts too about that type of message and like this thing with sony is like sitting right next to des on my ps5 i boot it up is the early access temtem build yeah which is in early access it's also good it's in a decent state yeah but but day one launch of that game was fine but but sony just opened up the door to games that are not finished being purchasable

and being allowed on their platform whereas prior to this only pc would let that happen you know i'm sure if if cdpr wanted to put a fat early access sticker on cyberpunk's release on the ps4 store things would be different they would people would you still be making fun of it because of how long it took to get to early access make no mistake this would be a very different series of events right now right everyone would look and go yeah all right clearly this is early access that is a correct label however what the fuck were you doing for the last eight years um not a lot i guess but but instead we're looking at like no no this is the finished product it's fine though you can't use your own footage it's fine though and that

just worry about so that just creates a uh what i might call turbo hostility around the release you know but like yeah five years six years seven years eight years till it's early access is man you guys botched this shit but okay it's in early access and that's what it looks like you know it would have been more honest so following all these very fun refund news is we get a description of a non-leaked but still media covered uh internal video meeting between the devs and management that happened on december 18th which could only be described as people asking questions and being fucking pissed and management being like don't worry about it bros um developers asked blunt questions about

the company's reputation the game's unrealistic deadlines and the relentless overtime uh let's see the two ones that i can remember is uh the devs asking why did you tell everybody that the game was playable back in january when it was actually a fucking mess uh to which the response was we will take responsibility for that which i don't know what that means and my favorite was how can you make a game talking about how corporations screw over the underclass while simultaneously forcing crunch on your developers and the only thing i can find about that is quote the response was vague and non-committal end quote uh so what that is is using the bearded blonde man meme that confidently says yes uh so why is the game so bad yes

except no this is not the time for that confidence this is not this is that's not gonna this might have been made it was a the long development process your chiseled jaw and and demeanor will not save you here the question is still the question the takeaway from that internal meeting is that um management botched this the average dev probably did a really good job and they're super mad that they got crunched for essentially nothing i feel bad for mr breathtaking himself who thought this probably was a sure fucking thing and always leans into science fiction and cool things like this and is working and like there's a new matrix on the way you know yeah totally can you feel bad for michael ponson

who the creator of cyberpunk oh yes okay that's true too that's true too yeah anyone who that's you know anyone who is uh basically looking at this like this is gonna uh same same difference um and then those questions uh kind of were unsatisfying and led if i'm not mistaken to a certain group oh but we're not there yet because you wanted to do this sequentially right sure December 18th later that night the cyberpunk reddit discovers that crossing a six megabyte threshold in your save file causes dramatically increased load times crossing eight megabytes on your save file on pc causes it to corrupt itself and become unloadable that's correct and die fortunately uh there was some advice officially there was some advice

uh let me i have to go to scroll down to get that advice the advice so when they were talking about it on the forums oh do you have it yeah uh the advice was quite simply unfortunately the savers damages cannot be recovered there's a message that occurs for corrupted files that exceed eight megabytes in size uh geog advises players to keep a lower amount of items to avoid corrupting save files all right that's good we'll come back to that later that's a fun one a young woman out in australia discovers that the xbox one game cards for cyberpunk did you even see this i sure did uh have botched company logos and in fact the cd project red oh is a is a image missing broken jpeg it's a broken jpeg icon it's the equivalent

and when people yeah when people didn't believe her she showed a video of her walking up to a stack of the fucking things and picking them up and then linked to it on uh jpeg high-fives website you can go and look at it's an australian chain oh no you can't because they took it down i mean like that uh that shows you first of all how automated the processes it gets on shelves without somebody verifying that that print yeah no like it was set up in a file and then someone took the file and popped it in and then you know they went straight to the press and then they just fucking you know cut everything out and that was that and like it's got a broken jpeg on it i mean fuck like way to replace the ign watermark on the okami box art for now now most obvious

flub yeah this yeah it took a long time to fucking beat that one didn't it like what was that like 2004 or something uh we remake yeah something all right now we're getting in there we're almost done all right the head of the studio a name a man named adam bad badowski the project lead studio lead the man steering the ship who's in the analogy is supposed to go down with it gets caught liking a bunch of tweets of people going basically a vendors came out in a worst state where all these people's refunds and essentially is end up just mass liking tweets defending the game and yeah how it shouldn't have been pulled and how sony is overreacting while i hate the phrasing of caught liking tweets that's yeah i hate everything about that

fine sure but this is fair this is hilarious now i don't know adam badowski at all i don't know anything about him other than he is the head of the project um but i did speak to a couple old friends of mine about potential situations and uh these old friends all worked in the game business they worked in they worked in dev they worked in uh qa and what came back was is that there is no fucking way this guy isn't directly responsible for a ton of these games problems in particular the the i had somebody tell me this dude seems like the kind of guy to play a cool game on the weekend come in on monday and go man that game was cool our game should have that and just add another feature to the list now again i don't know if that's actually what's occurring but

considering the attitude this dude is displaying i get a fucking hunch a room full of talented musicians can sit there with sheet music in front of them and play music together functionally but a conductor is necessary yeah all right following up new york times does a massive article just basically summing up everything only noteworthy because new york times is a big newspaper so now that's a mainstream like aha the bbc was making fun of them i don't know if you saw that clip i did yes anchor literally rolling her eyes at the shit show going well at least you can get a refund yeah um but now we're to they should have made it work better or whatever it was oh wow yeah they should have made it play

yeah and now we're to the second last but probably biggest as a response to the earlier dev meeting where the devs were like why did you tell everybody the game wasn't a pile of burning dog shit um a law firm is running around asking investors how bad do you guys want to sue cd project red for tanking your stock price as of the last time i checked cd project stock was down 41 percent over the past two weeks which if you're an investor means you just lost a buku bucks on cyberpunk hey you know how to pronounce that properly yeah uh i've seen a lot of people look at this and go oh man class action lawsuits never go anywhere this is slightly different a class action lawsuit from consumers stating damages based off

singular products often never goes anywhere because damages given to any individual would be low investors however could have pumped in fucking millions individually and gotten fucking hosed if they can demonstrate that the briefings and um information they received about what was going on was demonstrably false yeah because all you got to do is say they told us during this meeting that the game was on track for april and we're seeing devs just come out and be like that game was a burning trash fire in april that means you lied to your investors that's a big no no when you're a public company now whoever big no whoever bankrolled uh the movie cats i don't think sued for the state that the movie came out in uh no but so on and i don't know

what the precedent is with like undercooked media essentially resulting in a lawsuit that gets taken up based on the fact that you know essentially investors relied to i don't know what the precedent is here i don't know how it plays out but it certainly is a like punctuation at the end of the sentence of yeah these questions had unsatisfying answers well then the next thing is a lawsuit yeah and but it is a it is a firm asking around right it's not yeah the same as hasn't been filed exactly yeah yeah uh it's basically a law firm going hey investors how bad do you guys want to sue do you want to sue real bad and a couple of them were probably like yeah i'm thinking about it now this is the part where um i want to bring up that

i've heard reiterated that the story is great and that like it will still i have heard the opposite and that i've which is first okay i've heard i've heard reiterated from different people that the story is very good and that uh you know it's just it's caged behind everything else going on right now and if if it were to be one that you could access without issue that this would be a cool cyberpunk story you know that is a discussion for a year from now all right and last but probably not least this might be my personal favorite even though it's not the biggest people on the cd project forums are complaining that their save files are being annihilated by the eight megabyte save bug that i mentioned earlier well luckily the forum staff are here to help you

by telling you this is my paraphrase that it's basically your fault for playing the game too much here is a quote not all games are designed for unlimited endless play not all games are designed for new game plus plus plus cdp sorry cp 2077 as of now seems to have been designed with upper limits in place end quote open new quote the work around for now don't do it play the game until the end then start a new game don't continue saving and reloading the same character for too long don't craft thousands of items at once and i will skip far down into this to come up with the analogy that this gentleman puts forth quote patient doctor doctor it really hurts when i do this the doctor replies then don't do that now the treatment can begin so the official advice

off the cdpr forums for hey my game is an unplayable corrupted mess is you played it too much it wasn't designed to be played for 60 70 hours but i will go into detail this bug was discovered when people were crafting shit zillions of items and to make money in the game this caused your item ids to go up which meant that your save file would get larger well it turns out that when you load the game it also duplicates the item ids of the items in your inventory so loading the game also increases your save file size so which means your game has a limit continues it has a limit it will die over time it will die on pc for some reason it doesn't seem it's not being reported on the consoles so well i guess there's nothing there there's nothing in place to unload what

isn't necessary to limit what isn't needed to push the fence around yeah of course so i went through that thread and discovered that all the people in that thread complaining there were a couple that did a lot of crafting but most of them were people who had played it for about 70 hours more or less normally and discovered that at that point exploring picking up items loading the game etc the fucking thing just dies it just it just won't go and what's great about that what's really really genuinely incredible about that was i don't know if you guys remember but a month ago there was a news story going around based off the tweet from one of the devs that was like yeah so i've been playing cyberpunk for 175 hours

and then they later had to clarify no the game isn't that long that's a qa playthrough taking it real slow but the answer is in the release build of the game you actually can't play it for 175 hours like your save file cannot handle unusable way before that like way way before that maybe relying on like rest and quick resume helps the situation console wise maybe so that you're not actually low because it's not actually a real it's not a real load exactly and both consoles have an advanced form of you know state resuming so uh worse pc does not so this makes it a little more clear why in a pc focused company in a pc focused game there's no quick save or quick load an omission i thought was really bizarre

that i now think is less bizarre it would die even faster it would die way faster well way faster well infant why did you jump in the pool you should not have been near the pool that's your fault don't go near the pool again i want to and you'll be fine there is quick save then i was misinformed my b oh all right auto correct i want to give a shout out to a fan of the show spider man spelled with a you that's correct who compiled this list of nonsense uh for me as i discovered that i had covered it so much during the week i could not fucking keep track of it anymore um you did all people are pointing out there's a quick save but there is no quick load you you did miss two that i that i oh i missed two you missed two that i came across one

incredible is just the amazingness that we referenced earlier that is occasionally when driving a vehicle your character will t-pose from the driver's seat however when they t-pose it appears that they do so but their pants remain around the gas pedal so their ass is then exposed out the top of the car as you power bearing ass in it bare ass t-pose driving down the highway exerting your dominance over all that witness you the it's a new form of t-pose the assless t-pose ultimate chad move absolutely um somebody the chat just said deposing i like that deposing well it applies it applies to any model in the game uh any kind of character but uh that's a nice one and then um some people on ps4 were reporting that a hot fix that went out uh with the 1.05 version

from two days ago uh led to people getting stuck on the option screen when they went to the graphics settings great so a lot of people on reddit and a couple other places reported the new new patch gets you soft locked in the graphics of uh menu as of that's great last update so there you go that's great for those of you them that still have their games because they're not taking away from you the old last gen versions if you've still got them purchased then you can still play them they're just delisting it for anyone new uh it's not like pt where they're like scrubbing it but yeah wild absolutely wild so uh yeah check back at year nine see how it go

different character controlling it that's just vegeta and he's got the golden fucking return to monkey at his beck and call um yeah i think uh i think gt representation getting in there and movie representation getting in there is making all the fans happy that want to see that stuff but what the fans want to see more than that not us not us and not like this love like because remember like there is the people who are still currently xeno versing happily that are through the moon that ssj for gochita has been announced wouldn't the people who are xeno versing want obscure weird characters yeah in fact they just released um uh not janenba but the guy who helps goku fight janenba in the movie that looks like piccolo that's not piccolo pecan pecan they just they just put

out pecan right so uh straight up they're going for that obscurity but the obscure pulls are nowhere near as satisfying to the super cash masses to go down this road again i i hate doing it but it's super true people who are just like fuck yeah dragon ball you know um are are are more or less happy to see another form of their favorite characters powered up in in a cool way it's just what it is like this this game this game legitimately has one of the shittiest rosters of all time at this point it's it's it's like dragon balls in that weird place where for video game and specifically fighting game purposes it's almost impossible to make an interesting roster that wouldn't like upset a bunch of diehards that want those versions you know it's like it's like i don't know how to

put it besides it's like there's diametrically opposite interests from the originality we want versus the franchise majors that they that uh the the you know they want to appease people with like they're not picking these characters for no reason it's it's goku should have been a single slot and everything after that should have been a costume i don't fucking disagree uh no i will say give him ultra instinct as a secondary one because it's a different style but i i don't what if street fighter fives were you every costume was a different character and took up 23 percent of the roster wouldn't that be awesome again you know it's it's i don't i don't disagree with with an interesting roster at all i want the obscure picks i want the fun of that

against me in particular that well i don't actually play dbfc currently so that i should shut up about the it's terrible roster i don't i don't buy that mentality that you can't you you have to be actively involved to look at something and realize that it's shit there are so many fucking weird ass dragon ball characters that you could put in that would not be the same character just literally the same person it's also genuinely weird like i get like people like the gt stuff it's it's really weird that they're putting in like as the official dbc fighting game like like gt's like fanfiction now i don't like it's weird yeah it's never but like it's it's weird

but the picks have never not been safe and boring the most in oh yeah it's the worst the most interesting they got was battle chi chi in super dbc and um i mean they made cyber frieza a different thing but it's like that's not like even a thing like of let me let me mr. satan not showing up you know let's look at gt right there are currently what three gt characters uh kid goku sj4 goku and sj4 gojita right i think that's all let's say that again from from g from oh there's four gt characters right kid goku for goku baby go g and uh not for goku gojita right not for goku no for for gojita sj4 goku and

no for goku is not a character kid kid kid goku turns into for goku in his super oh okay okay so you got kid goku baby vegeta and uh a fucking uh gojita right so you like are you literally are you really gonna tell me that fucking like super 17 is just too weird when you're gonna put in like the same character but i i can't i can't i i don't even want to engage with this it's so fucking stupid it's just the same fucking person over and over and we're having the same so fucking terrible okay we have to move on because the conversation is not going anywhere because i like it's just they've never done it they've never been these people i'm i don't i would not expect better pics all of a sudden out of nowhere

a every version of goku versus vegeta the fighting game they would and it was a 35 man roster of just the two characters all the most boring fucking crap yeah and i mean you know a couple people essentially because for some people that are happy with that the game is a model viewer so that's the end of it once you've seen the models in a way it becomes what it becomes and there's there's nothing you can really do about that that's a real thing if you're looking at this as a collection of cool model viewing then you're like there's the character there's the form right cool intro cool outro and we're done here you know um and i and i would also like to say that there is one thing that i believe exacerbates my frustration uh and i assume it exacerbates

other people's frustration is that the naming conventions they have decided to go with with almost every single one of these characters are almost all terrible um s s j s s g s s like was so bad that vegeta in the manga is like can we just say blue dude can we just say blue back when the movies first came out and they had no real proper naming sat yet i had to have someone explain to me why he's super baby too and i heard the explanation and went that stupid he should just be called baby vegeta or baby vegeta or what like well you see because he's the second body that fidgeted the baby it's shut up so you know uh shout outs to hyper dimension and shout outs to um budakai for having

the like one character that goes through all the forms of course if you were to actually give goku like a billion different like a giant unfair move list with a billion different forms and things to do it would not really be balanced or particularly fair just costumes just costumes so costumes but you but more than costumes because they have they have different moves and styles that they that they do right so like i would make them i would make it like premium in the sense that it's not just a costume it actually changes things like like the way the super hits you is the same but the but the super itself the visual of what he does is unique to the the costume he's wearing yeah absolutely premium premium costume you know

the the the the energy color if it changes according to what he's doing whether he's possessed um or not you know all of that is like affecting the visual of what you see but the character themselves play out the same and it's the same balanced one um i mean shit i again i like i i'm willing to say that like i would i'm like fusions are their own fusions as their own slot is fine and um uh fucking um you know think something like ultra instinct which is a huge difference is fine but yeah the jido should be one character and gojira should be one character but never forget that the uh because there's the tenkai chi games of course which which is the handle it that way yes uh but the um the fucking game final bout on

playstation if anybody forgot what that character selection screen looks like when you unlock everybody is the dumbest fucking thing ever and they've never left that behind right the gt sorry the the the the yeah no the gt final bout character selection screen not only has infinite duplicates of goku's and vegeta's and and all your uh your in-betweens it literally has the same character just twice with a slightly different name so like super saiyan goku is not the same as super goku even though they're both adult goku at super saiyan level one one of them is wearing gt clothing because it's the adult gt version of the character that's doing super saiyan one and the other is doing super saiyan pre gt so they literally just take the same character and split them up according

to the same thing across two different eras it was the it was even worse right go back and look at the list of ssj versions of characters and then characters that are just listed as super it's even dumber it's been even dumber in the past they're they're not changing this i actually just realized like just how much i hate this shit because the argument of well i mean you gotta have you gotta have kid base one blue dad monkey goku you have to because they're all different and i'm like this is the game in which i can make a team of fucking frieza sell and boo boo boo boo who between them have enough forms for an entire game but they get one boo gets to now i'm not sitting here saying i want frieza versions one

or sell version two gets two frieza gets a transformation like fuck off boo got two there's kid boo and fat boo oh you got fat and kid okay so fine boo got see boo was fine where's fucking shit sell uses his tail to suck in the in the special cut scene where's super boo there's no boo wearing the gojita clothing which looks so clean it's fucking sick that's my favorite so good yeah yeah no oob none of it oob so i don't care about oob oob is the the most upsetting like character to not show up to me um but i also put that complaint at the manga as well well it's the last fucking page

and then making the me fighter uh have like you know you can make it so that the body shape changes to match whatever accurate version of these guests are i think that the gino costume could have been very easily improved by having it just constantly farting um and uh it ejects fart smell out of your controller into your mouth i'd like people to take note of the interesting progression here that is uh pat having zero opinion about gino in general whatsoever but then upon discovery that many people wanted gino in the game uh came what you're witnessing right now no that's not true that it's a different progression it's not it i'm not going to tell you that it's a smarter or better progression

leads responded with do you think capcom felt that way when they made singoku basara um because it was the warrior's team that was working on tokeiden kuami so if if tech well koei is gonna fuck with capcom over singoku basara then i feel like capcom should absolutely fuck back with them over their monster hunter ripoff series that seems very fair yeah the modern version of these character of these companies is absolutely like about getting that cash money in genres that get that like are six successful uh you know if there's a particular style of game that no one else is competing in uh capcom is gonna try something in that space at some point whether or not it ever comes out is another thing but operation raccoon city does exist

uh yeah and then last one's a little little cool one over here but um little side story there is a product that uh someone made as a proof of concept that's being shown off this is really cool actually it's basically a gameboy that uses uh solar power and the button presses that you input to power the console itself theoretically making it last indefinitely with no charge required whatsoever outside of those things tie forever um it's pretty cool it can play gameboy games and uh it uses the yeah the the input like the the magnetic inputs that you press charge the actual battery alongside the solar panels on it and it's again gameboy sized um now unfortunately the name of the console is the engage and that is that is an unfortunate title for this console

this is gameboy uh a proof of concept it's called the engage i don't wanna well that's too bad and you know like the the individual who made this might not have known or have been aware about the history of that that console title um and uh god bless but that's what it's called you know i mean it was between that and uh the phantom i believe and then they so they settled for the engage uh but still the all-time best we talked about like two three weeks ago it's it'll never be taught in finnium labs baby get that tattooed but the um the the main point is that's kind of like a um it's a a proof of concept and it's also meant to use to demonstrate um the the way technology can change with climate change and uh like

different approaches to uh what will eventually become like you know lithium ion disposal issues in the in the future um but like just as an idea uh that is a pretty fucking brilliant one that makes a lot of sense where it's just like if you have tactile feedback you have something that's generating work and if you have something that's generating work then you can store energy uh it also has a type of um VRAM that uh when it runs out of energy uh it powers down and then makes a save state of the of whatever the game was doing the moment it's saved and it's stored magnetically as well so um it's a maintained charge and then when you resume it resumes from wherever you were because again that status is charged it's saved in the

charge so it's a it's a pretty fucking cool idea and i would love to see that implemented in other ways in in life like that that's a really rad thing i'm super fascinated personally by uh batteryless technology i love like flashlights thing they gotta do that make you win prizes while playing sure uh i i think i love flashlights that that you can uh shake to power them up i love uh radios that you wind up to go like stuff like that is really really interesting to me and uh yeah in this case it's uh just an experimental gameboy product but uh it'd be dope to see this implemented in other things it's called the engage unfortunately unfortunately is it spelled with an e it's spelled with an e

knack because i was already invested in the huma storyline as he was the badass from the past and most stories that feature a badass from the past are things i want to find out about in this case post dragon lance uh season's era i'm like well what about the guy that everyone talks about is the hero of of yore and then they said we're going to tell you that story and i went cool now i get to find out also their books it's not the same as uh as i'm come i'm really talking about the visuals in a way i'm not i'm not even discussing the elements of looking i am looking at the visuals of dragons of autumn twilight and it's right right up just looks like that reboot episode but what i'm saying is in order for it to turn me off in the exact same way we're talking about

the monster hunter movie is because hey woolly did you play monster hunter world yes you did remember the beginning of that game where they're like uh monsters have a great hit no they were like oh that's a big monster you should find it it's gonna damage the ecosystem yeah i think a best case scenario is for a movie to i think the best case scenario is for something like mortal combat one where there's nothing to really be talk about to begin with and it's fine and in the end you walk away from death tournaments worlds that's that was that was dumb and it was fun and guess what the game had nothing to really get upset about so that's all that that all works out and check out this cool music you know

more accurate uh adaptation a more accurate adaptation of a story um that's more faithful that would you know leave the fans pleased is a nice alternate avenue to a shitty popcorn muncher that has nothing to do with anything you know monster hunter is really frustrating because like there's a plot you could have totally done in monster hunter four that would have translated really well and didn't have a isekai element but they always get funds from the us army to make those movies so it had to be an isekai so they could put the us army in it um and i'd also say that like as a you know as i've been saying more recently i don't think the movie adaptation is the end all be all anyways you know i really don't i've i've come to realize

that i've spent too long in my life thinking about the silver screen uh as a you know a destination for all other inferior mediums and uh that was a stupid way to look at it and that mediums can be their own thing and surpass other things and they don't need they don't owe anything to movies you know the fuck that movies can die like they just did tv's can die like they just did like mediums can come and go appreciate what is as it masters its own space you know like i i feel like kajima is the only game developer i can think of that's like i fucking love movies but let's make a video game that i respect in terms of that um everybody else who is like dude we're like making a movie bro is like made trash and oh i can't wait for my game to become a movie got trash
