But you know, a yeah, I've been thinking, I've been wondering, what, uh huh, between the two fates of a character, which, which is worse, assist trophy, or assist trophy, or me fighter, because this trophy is way better, because we acknowledge their what you, we acknowledge the character, we acknowledge it's a popular demand, but we don't, we didn't get what we didn't work it in to the, to the, to the season. But here it is in some way, shape, or form. It's a, it's a, it's a consolation prize, but the assist trophy at least looks like the character, like think of cyborg ninja and like how cool cyborg ninja looked like

and he does his cool move and then he's gone and the assist. Yeah, you can put him standing next to the rest of the cast and these there. And the assist trophies aren't like relegated by the rules that you would give like a regular fighter, they can do any fucking bullshit they want. So Dante could fly around the screen on a motorcycle eating pizza going, yeah, woohoo, and shooting guns in every direction and it'd be like really good as this trophy. Yeah. But oh, okay, it's just a cis trophy. Like it still ends up basically amounting to a striker cameo of the character as opposed to a glorified dress up of sorts. And I don't know what we're talking, but it's just like just the proportions annoy me. Yeah. So we're

talking about like a couple of hours ago. Me costume fighters got announced during the kazooia direct for smash and it is Shantae Dante, Dragonborn and Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia. And like everybody mad because Dante is a me costume. But like more than that, like look at Shantae who's the character they show in the trailer right after Shantae is one of the characters like sans that gets like a me costume that changes their body proportions so that they they look a hundred times more like the character and she comes with music. Dante is the regular ass me fighter with like a Dante way gone and like the costume stapled to him, not every like he looks like shit. Cuphead and Sans are the most beloved

of those costumes because they happen to be close enough in proportion that they can just make it accurate. They didn't take Sans and Cuphead and Shantae and slap their their their outfit onto the me torso. They gave Sans and Sans and Cuphead specifically like different heads that would fit. Now if you could if you if the if the me fighters were human sized and you could just put a skin of the of all these guests on it would be like what they should I saw I just saw this somebody in their chat said it they should have said it's Dante from beautiful Joe. Sure. Sure. Yeah, because that's exactly what he looks like. Yes. But no because Dante from beautiful Joe still had Dante's face and not just the me fighter

face with Dante's hair on it like Dante from beautiful Joe still had that general head reshaped is it resize is Dino and dress up. Well anyway. Yeah, that's that's exactly it right the assist trophy even though not playable at all is still a more like accurate like cameo of the character that you're hoping for. And you can you know if you just want to like put him next to put Ninja next to snake and take some pictures with them you can as opposed to you know like fucking not just Dante but like Megaman zero as well. Right. You want to pose zero next to Megaman and it's just like maybe I do what's wrong with you zero what happened. Why do you look so sick wrong with your face. Yeah. See it's it would be a lot less worse honestly.

If like as the me fighters are get to exist in the custom character state where you can swap their moves around and like if they were like real characters that would that would be one thing but also and I think this has been a problem I've had with the me's and the Xbox live avatars for forever is they look like shit the proportions and level of detail associated with a me looks terrible in every game. So is it is metopia the new one. I want to say metopia. I want to say metopia is the is the absolute complete upgrade of everything me related. The amount of detail you can go into on metopia with your face way better are incredible. I've seen way accurate Jojo faces. I've seen dead accurate recreations of their not only various anime characters but like the same

shading and art style they use accurately represented. It's an it's incredible. So like metopia if that were the standard for what you could do with these then you could get a little specifically the player created me's from metopia and not the not the stock ones because those all look pretty much the same. Yeah the ones the ones that basically allow you to paint a face is what from what I can tell because it doesn't seem like they're just grabbing like it's not like the days of like let's grab these weird shapes and like of eyes and noses and put them together to create like a Samus helmet you know it's it's like no it seems like they're just painting these faces on it's it's I've seen amazing amazing work with it that would have been that would have been really

cool that would have been fun but now I mean to to be fair mean you sitting here going oh I can't believe don't taste not and as people who like I don't know when the last time you've touched Smash Ultimate was I assume it was on a get-in to fighting games or you're with Reggie like six months ago plus whatever yeah yeah no exactly I literally don't even know no it's it's at this point the like again the Smash Oscars conversation yeah has been most of our lives more than half of our lives have been spent talking about which video game character deserves to make it into the Hall of Fame that is Smash oh and man nothing's gonna take away the fact that the back half of Ultimate just gave unexpected love to fighting games and Bayonetta you know that's it's cool

that's not gonna change but um yeah no I think it's I think it's just confirmation bias the video game certainly I think mainly and the fact and the fact that Minecraft eventually did happen kind of shows you like no like the the numbers the popularity does matter in effect what is gonna appear you know in that that cast I guess it just kind of felt like as the as the momentum rallied for people to be like okay the more characters get included the more it's like Dante is a bigger more popular like that is a good Capcom drop for a game like this based on like the level of characters that have shown up I saw a friend of mine I think it was Lulu posted like an art like a series of screenshots that was like smash has done me dirty three times and it was

photos of the Dante Travis and Monster Hunter me costumes and it was like I mean like the amount but like but my my my for me expectations and shit like that it's like it's always like up in the air but it kind of changed like when cloud showed up for example I was like okay so cloud was like one of the first of that new extra uh it was the first of the of the like season passes or whatever it was right where you're like this is a high-profile Mr. video games as character and yeah then you had yeah you had Ryu I don't know if Ken was there at the same time or was there yet or you are not but either way there was like a level of like okay I I would Dante would be a stretch to expect at this point in time you know but um that is a lot of Capcom yeah um already got two but then

you know Joker comes along and and and Dragon Quest and all these other things you're like oh shit no they're then then Terry Bogard and you're like yeah no they're willing to they're willing to represent whatever you know they're down for it so that it just kind of made it seem a bit more like believable as the roster shaped up post release with those drops but anyway no Dante do you think that is what it is the last person on the roster is going to be like oh yeah that makes sense or that they would have like saved like not the best for last but like saved a real pop for the last person and the fighters pass yeah so the jokes aside that it's going to be exactly Nero or Virgil actually um or by our or by left the sequel honestly I really hope that it's exactly

what you said it's a pick that's like yeah that deserves it um Waluigi would be great oh man to me Waluigi would be perfect I'd have zero zero bad feelings about that because you're like yeah people be of course you know it would be so mad to me it would be an of course I'd be like he like it's weird that he's not there let him let him join the fam but what if it was Goku I get like yeah I'm never what if it was no what if it was Goku what if it was Scorpion dude that would that would absolutely be completely appropriate tired of this tired of this shit no like if it's somebody who you just go yeah that makes sense then um that'll that'll feel good

are there any obvious Nintendo mainstays that have gotten overlooked I mean if fucking Detective Pikachu Takamaru you gotta really stretch at this point you know uh of like of the core Nintendo franchises I I can't think of anything that is really genuinely missing um if I if I had to pick like the last the last for the pop to really like bring it home I I think it should be John Halo I think I think yeah I think that would be the like okay let's end off the Nintendo Ultimate franchise with the mascot of another count companies yeah that's totally that's good why not that's the book engine eat please go please I look look forward to the Sakurai one hour breakdown where he's telling you to basically go play Xbox a whole lot

yeah um I don't know John Halo's never been on a Nintendo console I think he's the only yeah I mean that's the thing is is just like if not like a Waluigi like yeah had not he you deserve the spot kind of thing um you know I don't know I don't know I was gonna I was almost going like like what like is there an in-law like could you make you want to make taboo playable do you want to fucking get master hand as I feel like what yeah I don't know I don't know would you fucking freaks shut up about Gino nobody care about Gino oh god among us with just all the kill animations that's the somebody pointed out as the John Halo is in fortnight on the Nintendo switch there you go what the hell I got a phone call shut up phone call

I don't need you oh it's my mom and dad I'll call them later okay I'll send my dad a text message saying I'm at work like I am every day dad for the past like seven years you know wonderful 101 as an as a me costume at least proportionally it would have made sense that would have been a decent fit they already they just you put the mask on and then you don't have to look at the dumb me eyes because at least it's by the wonderful 101 mask yeah you call yeah you ask Zachari what about wonder red and he's like who what one what who you know what though like off of just like like cool game picks in a way like like like less obvious but still like out there I'm really surprised bomber man was never made into a character I really would have thought bomber

man would have been in the legacy of like all the other mascots I think our adoration for bomber man is that an adoration of years past he's not as relevant these days because there's not as many games coming out but like that's but whatever our adoration of years past is Sakurai would have the same thing that's true he's clearly demonstrated where his nostalgia lies and it's in the same era you know yeah he's an assist trophy but my point is I'm surprised he didn't make it as a playable character on the roster because I thought he would have been he would have that category throw bombs but he'd also inflate them and kick them and ride and bounce and he'd get the buddy animals and then you'd get the different power ups you get the red ones

or you get the ones that skip over blocks there's just there's power you can do shit you can come up with a move list for bomber man if you wanted to definitely yeah wait a second I know who should be the last character I just checked out it's coming to the Nintendo switch the detective with pal kim katsuragi from disco elysium disco elysium he shoots up as his down be and it counts as a reflect your entire your entire no your entire b button interface is just different stats talking to you yeah so each of the four rows is up down left and right and you don't know which one's going to kick in and or what they're going to have to say uh including the detective would just kick that

game right up to the m rating like by default they couldn't include the name of the they couldn't say disco elysium they'd have to just they'd have to say his name since the esrb apparently yeah has a rule against that now since ever since uh who was it someone made it in and then the uh joker oh yeah esrb has become like the spoiliest like organization around for real and then Kirby swallows him oh no oh no Kirby no don't touch that you don't know where it's been oh Kirby gets the smile Kirby expression the expression Kirby gets haunted by just an awful past his ex Kirby yeah and our Kirby's called Kirby's I don't know Kirby starts talking about the curb carousel all right we're moving off this all right ah I don't like that

that's not good it's not very good it's actually quite it's far from that no nobody likes that nope there's no reason for it anyway um how's stuff with you man not much um yeah well I guess coming in hot this week yeah uh well here's what's up I guess um the the the tail end of of backstory related things hopefully I decided to try I wanted to know what it would be like to to move around the recording setup to put the good chair in place where I can use it most of the time and uh that required a major um overhaul of the recording area that would result in things feeling there's pluses and minuses overall things feeling way more um office like because I'd be in this office chair I'd have to have a little surface in front of me

pros there would mean I could put a keyboard and mouse down in front of me and if I ever went back to any of those games I would just be able to play it on this kind of surface yeah cubeless but uh the minuses were I was trapped in a corner with a desk in front yeah uh recording set up on this left uh Reggie on my right and no escape whatsoever and it was also it kind of loses that like hanging out on the couch exactly it's tangible and I realized that I'm like oh sitting here with this not only is it like like kind of trapped in claustrophobic but I would not want to continue hanging out here after I was done recording to do my regular like watching and playing of games and hanging out like or yeah because it would feel like you're at work it does

it's it's so crazy and fast how quickly that comes back um furthermore to have to sit on two office chairs like with me and punch mom like watching Netflix or whatever like it that would suck that's romantic that's that's good so yeah like almost immediately like realized how bad that would be like those of you who are watching at home uh watching with the video uh can see me right now but those of you who are listening at home uh you could just look at any stream that I've ever done well I mean in the recent couple years um I'm at work right now because I have the microphone in front of me and now as I move the microphone away I am no longer at work and that's literally all I gotta do right but when you're in an office chair no matter how much better it is for your

back and there's a like a desk I get what you're saying yeah it feels bad uh I just hated it right away and I think that like in the long run by putting enough support behind me on the couch and everything it'll be okay I that but that instant switch in mentality just like was like oof oh god I hate that and um it also like made the area that I had to put that couch into which is basically in front of my arcade also suck because it'd have to block off my my access to my shelves and books and things it was just no good no good so we killed that the feng shui was garbage um put it all back into place and then we're just gonna stick with what we have for now I also I realized and I've mentioned this like quite a few times on my streams but like um not it's not many

people or not many and not many games account for like couch set up play like it's really like it feels like these days it's kind of like okay your console is going in a living room of some kind but like games on pc expect you to either be running a laptop on a desk in front of you or um a tower but with a monitor on a desk in front of you and like people that most streams now are also someone with a desk and a camera right in front of them and like and like you know the ring light and all that shit and so like the yeah like page has got that set up upstairs exactly right that's and that's kind of the thing and so the thing uh that we've done for the last decade or so which is like throw a camera in front of a living room set up and just couch it is more and

more rare so uh I've been I've been fighting the battle against um the pc game I'm playing being really mad at me for playing on a television for many years now um ff14 uh originally had uh they had text size options but they didn't have text size options for dialogue boxes uh which is originally like bluntly the reason why I ended up getting better bigger and bigger TVs and sitting closer to the screen because like I could not read what the fuck was saying yeah there are games that like you have to go into the compatibility options and change the display scaling for like almost every new game because my windows thing is at 300 that I can read my desktop yeah like it's it's really frustrating and like this is I'm not I don't bring this up because this

is like a new observation I've this has been the case for years in fact I like for the longest while I've been like you know aware of like how much no one else is really doing this kind of setup or presentation and thing um but like despite and I understand you know like you just mentioned there's reasons why uh but I do like I like it I like it more than the alternatives I like the confidence especially when you're recording with a second person um that vibe is really cozy and that it it matters you know like when we were not putting cameras on when we were streaming like when we were just recording with mics we're just putting a mic on the table it was still you could still tell it was still a couch feeling you know yeah even before there was any any video component

and even when uh it left like my apartment or your apartment even when we got an office where we could have done an office type situation we still went for a living room setup in that like yeah I remember uh when we got that office there was like are we gonna lose part of that feeling and then we got like a big fat couch and just recreated a living room inside that office and it's worth it and it's like yeah the cozy aspect is um it's intangible but it's it's you know it makes a difference and I think uh I think I would say I think I I don't know how I would sound or be but like I feel like there'd be a different energy if I were like streaming from a workstation gamer setup you know if something would be different I could tell you right now like uh like you know

me and Paige will stream like Dark Souls games down here right and we did so back at the old place and it's like there's definitely like definitely needing to turn your head to look at somebody in shock is and like your voice drops out from the microphone is definitely a very different feeling and being on this couch in my house has allowed for something that you would never get in a standard chair desk computer setup which is constant uh dog and cat harassment there you go there you go um I am unlikely so when Paige is upstairs doing her stream she is unlikely to be physically knocked from her seat by a 65 pound piece of shit at big correct uh where I am occasionally now the other part of it is that um at least my game choice generally doesn't also lean towards one

where I'm like going to be needing to be at a at a desk of some kind you know like that's the other part if you were mowing yeah right so a big dude in a hard mower and that's a and that's another big part of it too is that like you know um the the the types of streams offered in general by a lot of pc gamer uh variety uh folks are playing a lot of games that require you know that kind of uh surface area in front of them and such so it all it all adds up but um although like trying to squeeze an arcade stick into play sometimes uh on some people's streams I do see that they kind of are like trying to figure out how to make desk space or lap it or so um but yeah in any case I think I've just by going through the test I've proven to myself that I'm

like no this little intangible thing that is the couch is an important part of the feel of how we how we play the games and how we record and I would hate to lose it now more importantly than that just sitting on the couch now still destroy your spine no it doesn't my my my back's doing quite fine it's it's going good oh that's nice yeah all right good um problem solved for the time being yeah uh that's moving shit around uh other than that so yeah I finally got a chance to you know crack open strive uh I was surprised with oh my god some of the some of the things play it this week I forgot so I was surprised to see the uh the change to the character select theme which I was like oh they made it an instrumental version of smell of the game instead of the um

the track they were going with which huh you know I was like okay that makes I specifically used the theme from the beta character select screen at a part of the lore when a lot of characters show up to kind of give that energy and it now makes no sense in a post final release world so uh that was dumb but anyway uh I don't know what the character select screen sounds like it's smell only been on it for I've only been on it for four seconds total okay well it's just instrumental smell of the game that's about it uh I was I don't know why they went for the change but they did you know um still cool but I like the old one the um I checked out some of the missions still pretty handy still pretty good I know the back half is a bit more character specific but

overall I like that they're there because it's a nice way of just kind of like yeah breaking down some things that are just like hey so learning how to do a jumping attack or how to block a jumping attack is one thing but knowing that you should be like getting ready to alternate between that and a low is like having a little specific mission for that is nice it's helpful for people and I think um I was talking to my friend about this I think that's it's nice to have a thing and a fighting game where and we'll be we'll be talking about the best way to teach further till the end of time this is going to be a just a topic forever you know and I'm endlessly fascinated by it too but like I do like the idea of the moment of like damn it I'm losing and I

don't know why uh where the idea is like there might be an answer for you inside this list um if you go through it but you can kind of stop if you just like eh I'm a bit tired of this I don't want to go any further but knowing that like it's almost like there's a book and you can read a bit you can skip through some chapters and like knowing that it's like okay the answer I'm looking for is probably further in here somewhere as opposed to just throwing your hands up and not knowing and effectively thinking there might not be one you know um because I know any of any other genre I played or of any other kind of game like yeah if I you know if I keep like I don't know if I'm playing like go and a certain formation keeps fucking me up or a certain opening in

chess or something like that you know I would then be like well I don't have the like drive to go in and like learn all the tech involved in like countering this but if I ever did get to that point where I was like you know what fuck it I want to learn how to do this I would know that there is an there is a place to get exactly what I need as opposed to just like throwing my hands up from it so that's pretty cool I like that that's there I have a question about your experience with strife how do you feel about being assaulted by a gorilla versus being assaulted by a porpoise well uh as we said on stream uh very very soon I imagine the the team at arcsis is going to take a trip to seaworld and they're going to start treating the dolphins the way they do at seaworld

and I think I think in short order that will that will be corrected it won't be a I don't think it'll be a problem for too long you can get away with what you can for now you know I feel like it's been a long time since I said this about a game and actually meant it but the pressure is actually brain dead like it is yeah so so good so we just so good we just started singing marine land theme song for the canadians because it's just that's the kid that's the canadian sea world because it's like yeah the guys this is this ain't gonna last it is you know and I mean look look at like um the difference between pot with a uh safe uh hammerfall versus not is humongous right that that change was a huge uh uh uh thing that made him no longer

ridiculous he's still nuts with his tools but it makes it a tolerable fight um and and I think that like in this case yeah looking at the way soul and the way uh uh may are in the game right now it's probably coming real quick I'm not expecting this to last I saw people breaking down like soul versus kai's hitboxes yeah and like boxes like mm-hmm it it feels like some of those characters just didn't get that second pass or like souls punch is like a big red square over like his whole body so and then like kai's little kick his low is like just the sword and he's got hurt boxes all around him now if you're as a beginner none of this matters right but when it comes to the way hitboxes and hurt boxes are designed you can choose to make a character like better or worse

depending on if they have a big old swinging button and like whether or not you can hit the big thing they're swinging at you is there a big red box with an even bigger blue box around their sword if so then like you can you can check that really far button and they can't just do it whenever they want really a really classic example to that is uh if you were say playing street fighter 2 turbo and you were just mashing out random shoryu's in the corner and dollism tries to punch you every now and then you'll just knock his ass down from complete full screen so this because his fist has a hitbox uh hurt box on it so this is why Faust struggles with some of his longer range things is because you can challenge them with a normal button from

your range and actually hit him from really far away because you can hit him trying to come in on you like like uh you just described with doll some one soul does his big old fucking for uh uh what he does his business fucking his business maker his his goddamn uh forward h his six h or whatever you want to it's just like all red there's no part of it that you can hit it's completely disjointed or success excuse me it's completely disjointed from his body they're both great actually success and six h are fantastic one is a big swing one is a stab downward at the ground and they're and when you look at them um the the red box is just a separate on its own entity that is like in front of him and you have to be basically reaching past that to get in it on him or to

stuff the button out you know so uh it's fantastic and and yeah he's he's he's incredible uh at this point in time for sure um i'm overall finding that uh that balance with nago where the blood thing is there is like i'm i'm fine with where they stopped it it's still it's a weird thing but it's just a mentality to get into and like it really really really he's a character that's like because there's moments where you have to be extremely defensive he forces you to be amazing at like just blocking if you're good at like blocking and say dragon ball or if you're good at blocking in um you know i would even say like you know third strike like if you're good at just getting out of really rough mix-ups you can play nago well because like he goes into

an extremely lame mode where you you you just need to rely on your big heavy buttons but if you fuck those up you're gonna eat a lot of shit nago seems really bizarre because it feels like they made a really good character that had good shit and cool like like boss shit like you know the teleport and the the little spin he does is like zero on it and like the huge fucking normals and they're like this is probably too good should we tone this down and they're like we don't want to tone it down i i want it to stay super good well what do we do why don't we just make a state that he just dies yeah like yeah like they could have made him a normal character but they would have had to take all this cool shit away instead they made him a really really

really good character that sometimes just dies and uh there are still those moments where you're just like spend all the blood and hope that you're gonna kill here like use it all in the moment but it requires a self-discipline and patience that i really think they were designing for i think they were i think they were trying to to emulate that like the character in lore being like one where he's trying to maintain the urge to just go crazy and go blood thirsty you know and he's a vampire and the vampires in that series are busted so that's totally fair so i think that's what they're going for with it um but once people and and and and and thankfully like there there's his like really simple basic mix-ups where it's like the ways of hiding the

bite like putting it after like ss or a couple of other different basic yeah you know uh strings all the all the tick throw bullshit that all the tick throw bullshit thankfully once people start escaping the tick throw he has a good uh a good collection of options for the various escapes from the that bite fear you know so he has the ability to do the thing that grapplers do do where it's like you put the fear of the bite in place so that uh you know the well i have my counters ready for when you try to jump back or when you try to press a button or whatever the case is and i also noticed to you that like after the bite because you have that like perhaps like two seconds of like discount blood time you can just spin you can just go insane you have about two

seconds to lose your shit with blood and then like it'll come back at a reduced price you know very very interesting like management character that again yeah they found they found a decent place for it at this point i'm i'm not but i have to put more time in but just based on doing the one i did the one stream and um did a little bit of training mode uh to see where he's at with things and seems okay but i but i i'm gonna i'll let you guys know once i get more time there uh overall had a good time with that the lobbies uh for private rooms uh i tried to get that going and i it unfortunately like doesn't survive getting hammered by a large group of people so as far as i'm concerned that that shit doesn't work um really i did that the first day it came

out and i didn't have any troubles i had people i did a stream where people were just filing in and had no issue whatsoever maybe i maybe it depends on whether you put a code on the room i know that on pc some people were saying there's a like on pc it was significantly more worse or so there i've been hearing different you like takes on yeah one or the other but um what i did was i had a room with a password on it and the stream could see the password and then like one person made it in and everyone else was getting stuck at the door because there were too many people trying to get in at the same time and it just couldn't let anyone so it was like okay this is actually not going as smoothly as i was hoping so that's not good i don't like meeting up in a park

is still the way to go for that went through the story mode finished that off uh and yeah that's just another four and a half hour commitment to which uh you know if anyone was asking uh am i going to make an episode for that um the answer is arksis wanted me to get you caught up so that you could watch this what would the point of me summarizing this thing that they're trying to sell you be right right um yeah there's make sense to me overall uh it's it's fucking wacky um i'll you know not going to get into any spoilers or whatever like if if if we ever do down the line then you know we can put that at the end somewhere and have a little segment about it but uh it's it's as nuts as all the other episodes have been up to this point and um leaves way leaves me with

a ton of questions but also kind of makes me it confirms that like the writing style of the of this game has not changed ever since like x and double x where they will put in a sequel hook that they don't have a plan for yet and then just construct the other end of the hook for later on and try to fit it back in together and sometimes change their mind about things for example in uh guilty gear double x when axl meets that man uh they go yeah you are related to raven somehow oh god that drove me so nuts and there's like me we're like the same from a different dimension but it's something else is going on and it's like what okay and then they just hard fucking ignored that and then i think what if what if it's nothing nothing and then i think in an interview like uh

yeah um daske said something to the effect of like yeah i didn't write every line of the script for things so some stuff kind of just happened but that's not what we that's not what was intended you know and there's a bunch of other things like that that obviously i i had to you know i encountered and and served as a very confusing way to it was confusing to explain certain things and i did my best with the lore but um can uh uh yeah thank you sorry so that it was really really weird to see these little things and in the story mode you're seeing at least like at least two or three major ones where they're like you sprinkled a little thing here you left it open and then you came back for it but you kind of changed your mind about some of it you know um it wasn't quite

the look balrog finds a child now that child is ed you know right it was it was it would be like balrog balrog finds a child what happened to that child he ate them or it will never talk about it again no not even it's more just like now balrog is insanely rich and it's like how'd you get all that money what happened don't worry about it you know and then you're just like uh where's the where's the child what child what child you know it's like that just a weird like oh okay okay we can connect these dots i guess um you can write any story if you're willing to skip steps in the middle and then just say it happens shut up um uh so yeah that may be more in uh more details in the future one thing that's really consistently coming in on the messages

of the final after people are wrapping up guilty gear lore episode seven i've noticed a surprising amount of people going this is fucking nuts uh you know thanks for making it make sense still as insane as it gets it's way more sane than kingdom hearts uh and i'm like i'm gonna blinking like i can't believe that but multiple people have said it multiple people have said this is as insane as this is it's still more sane than kingdom hearts gets i i as somebody who has as flitted back and forth between these two i will say they are different levels of confusing guilty gear just wants to make up a bunch of new shit a million times and go now there's a magic backyard or you know what have you right kingdom hearts

is issue isn't so much the actual events that are occurring kingdom hearts is issue is primarily a language issue translation any no too many different things are named the same thing too many things are the darkness are the keyblade there is a different keyblade blade that is the greek symbol that looks like an x that is key pronounced key that is a double super keyblade because of that you would read as x blade cross blade okay if i could explain to you in one sentence the where 80 90 percent of kingdom hearts confusions come from the language i would tell you that it's a series about hearts the heartless and no bodies heartless are the remainder of someone's heart after their body disappears and a nobody is the body

of someone who has had their heart stolen so heartless are only hearts and no bodies are only bodies their names should be reversed it's stupid it's a language problem it is it is overtly okay using but okay so it's not the events occurring or the characters and their actions it's the nomenclature well i mean that's all confusing too okay like the number one is like the amount of different properties that are labeled as literally only the darkness is like the darkness has like a different definition per game now is it because you're just supposed to think of it as the bad stuff and never go further than that no they're they it's all like there's like there's probably a document somewhere where this is the darkness that happens when

someone is nor did this is the darkness that happens when somebody is taken over by the heartless this is the darkness this is the darkness within the darkness this is the master this is the master of masters like it's all like very obfuscated language for no reason okay now is it doing that language thing like keyblade keyblade shit is it doing that for the same reason that kojima loves doing that in Death Stranding is it just an obsession with no with the puns and the you know the double entendre no it started out simple and then every time it got more complicated they just used most of the same words they already had okay and this series has the audacity to have its first game's theme song named simple and clean

yes yes because guilty gear is batshit crazy in its characters and events and like overall chronology like the it's a batshit world from inception that then rides out into little batshit crazy like droplets you know what i mean okay so that sprinkles into the ground and and sprout batshit crazy flowers that grow into batshit crazy trees to my knowledge and this is incomplete knowledge we have um four four enemy factions um five enemy factions six sit we have the heartless we have the the nobodies we have the dream eaters and the unversed those last two don't know what they are straight up i played games with them in it that couldn't tell you what they were straight up just can't i don't know okay um then you have

organization 13 then you have a different not organizations 13 then you have a vil that's fine then okay multiple multiple villain factions is fine i can give you that many no let me hear that's okay no no hold on hold on you want to talk names let's talk about ansom and the actual nightmare that is the name ansom okay ansom is the the villain of the first game right got it bad man second game he wasn't the villain it was his heartless that was the villain and his name was ansom but he stole it and now there's a second ansom but which is the real ansom and the new ones is called xehanort okay xehanort is actually not ansom or xehanort he's ansom's nobody that took on the name of a different guy named xehanort okay and that xehanort is is voiced by uh letter

demoi and you're also wrong and you're also wrong and you're also wrong right away but here's the thing because and there's so that other people are saying or so that almost super totally analogs in a lot of ways with this shit over here too but at least they have the sense to call them a different name so they have different names for the things that are of course i'm getting it wrong i asked the chat i asked the chat because there are people here how many different characters use the names xehanort i want to say it's like four or five yeah so they come up with different names for the things at those times when they need to four five thirteen plus five four thirteen yeah fucking give me a break yeah uh look so i someone said six but they're all the same person what does that mean

what does that mean so that is that and that is also some guilty gear shit right because there's a core thing that you that helps understand guilty gear that you don't quite understand until you're looking back on the whole thing which is like there is a concept here that is what if you could reverse potara earrings people okay oh yeah okay yeah all right sure and like i understand but that doesn't come up until the excerpt series starts happening you know like that fucking that that that what what if what if uh well yamato actually reverse potara earrings is yamato why does organization 14 have 15 members is that real is that a real thing are you serious yes

well uh according to my quick and dirty poll um 59 percent of people agree that kingdom hearts lore is more confusing than guilty gear lore 41 to 59 percent oh yeah this so people feel very strongly about this right if i could i you know what i should have done i should have i should have put a like yes no and yes and i feel strongly about this and know when i feel strongly about this is a better version of that poll actually but uh man interesting it's on my twitter well anyway uh what i can what i can definitely say is that like yeah it was it was a story told by making making the bridge as they crossed it you know and uh sometimes you kind of go like but what about the strings you set up over there

and think are we on the island or not shut up you know yeah whatever it ends up being fine yeah i i still i i do look forward to seeing if they add any sort of like second season epilogues or things like that because um those they're pretty there's there's some pretty cool like uh things you can do where you just have characters in their downtime that that uh i like about about modern modern guilty gear that you could do here people who didn't show up much could just have little scenes of you know what are they up to what are they what's what's going on with this person character building what kind of pasta's axel eating at some restaurant yeah give me a dinner with axel come on just to shut up just give me um some of the strongest

stuff in in the excerpt series was uh the just the epilogues and there was there were all just characters hanging out having conversations you know mm-hmm so um some of that i would i would just kill to see like an ova of like king of fighters and it's it's literally just a bar in south town and it's like kyo takes shingo out for drinks pop-out cafe about yori just make a yeah just make a movie or make us make an ova yeah just make it called pop-out cafe and every episode someone comes through and a different thing happens there and richard meyer and and king are working absolutely yeah that's it mm-hmm because they already tried the another day and the 3d one and then the other one and the you know they did a couple of these

things but yeah that would be the angle absolutely um just just get just fucking rio and king are out on a date and the kyoko gun school is getting into fucking hijinks in the background like kof 11 ending yuri is trying to like give rio advice on how to not be a weird karate date man by secretly whispering and and trying to you know send tips and things hijinks occur mr karate's the waiter it's like it's a whole it's a whole fucking shenanigans post geese like uh howard connection people have to find jobs you got hopper coming in billy kane trying to figure out you know yeah yeah absolutely um i would love i would just my is there every episode getting sloshed at the bar her

and you won't fuck me my fucking eggs or child they're going i'm oh no what do i why won't he love me it's solid solid uh anyway um my my you've had enough enough more that's more more guilty gear in the coming weeks as uh more time is spent but um some of those extra colors are very cool i like i like seeing like seven through 12 now i like that color seven is pretty much purple on everybody looks very clean uh yeah and that was that and then the only other thing i did was i beat onimusha one that game's great but all very it's interesting like hey look there's this mandatory part of the game that is an a prototype bloody palace yeah uh there's also um like it follows the resident evil formula to like such an extreme

degree that you get to the 60 mark and it's like play the other character for like 30 minutes so i may or may not have experienced the zapping system yeah because i play as her and she has no healing mechanic and she has no no none of the shit that makes salmon osuke like survive in this world you're supposed to just fly through it in like a half hour and be done with it there's no point even fighting with her there's no incentive at all you're you're not rewarded with anything you can use because she's very ninja like what a fuck up just make hey man you got to play onimusha one many years later so i'm so excited to talk to you about what i may believe to be the shittiest ending to a game ever so i was i'm willing to

say that that technically counts as a dt before a dt there is there's a devil trigger in onimusha before there is a devil trigger and devil may cry you're totally right yeah that that very much wreaks of we didn't have time for this feature or any of these features let's start working on the sequel immediately because we're out of money am i wrong in that i don't know about out of money but like the that you can see where they spent some money in that game in that opening cutscene which won that sig graph award because it was the first mocap cutscene to have six actors in it simultaneously and then the opening cutscene for onimusha two won the next sig graph award it was up for because it was the first time a horse was ever mocapped okay so that would be a mocap to horse i mean

and three is legendary as well and three is three won its award for being fucking awesome one of the best of all time yeah yeah yeah i mean not to take any fire away from uh soul edge but yeah no that's what it's known for onimusha definitely playing through it now though um i mean i do appreciate the various isen systems i didn't get the grad i didn't grasp them until like later on in the game i think um there's a bunch of stuff that as well where's love you know there's a lot there's a bunch of stuff there was like woolly it's a resident evil game and i was like yeah i that's not that doesn't that doesn't help me because you never played one of the fixed camera ones you know like thank you for this piece of said the sentence that means nothing um but so hey congrats you've

played a resident evil game in my opinion sure i put this at this point like stick in the wall and then it made the thing move i did i did that puzzle you know it really is just a pure resident evil game which is melee instead of guns um there and there's a couple of things that are just like yeah this would have been fine but like just making it like oh like some rooms have infinite spawning enemies others don't um she again she has no way to heal she has to use your consumables but there's no incentive to kill things um the quick switching which was like not intended because originally it to pause the game and switch weapons and then they put a quick switch in there very not intended but you have to be standing still to use it so then you end up having these moments

of like oh my god like guess i'll kind of run over here and die for a second because you have to fight an aerial boss that's a b by switching constantly between your bow and then the melee things on the ground but well the intended to do that in the menu so the intended look of that fight was to see the pause menu every five seconds and that's right and that's terrible like like a god damn res evil boss if you were bad at it back in the day that's not good i don't like that yeah so anyway but i hear all of that improves going forward uh ona musha too is a quantum leap forward and uh the one that's the most obvious is that it events the chain isen so isen keep the same basic rules you can do the block one which is a little easier but it doesn't

you know it's not quite as good and then you do the the dodge one like you know the right step where they hit you but you gain the ability to charge your weapon for like special attacks you know like you know a big sword swing that's like a big slam down but if your weapon is charged and you isen you can do multiple chain isens to enemies throughout the area depending on how much charge you had and if you have level three you can ease in every motherfucker in a room or a boss like 10 times in a row okay so you get into this thing where you're holding charge for 10 seconds and then you're waiting like i gotta hit it i'm gonna hit it okay and then if you do everything be dead and can you ease and bosses oh yeah okay you can ease and bosses in the first

game too uh insanely difficult i thought you couldn't and i was told you couldn't because okay maybe my memory is incorrect because easening doesn't kill bosses in two it just hurts them a lot which that's cool that makes sense as long as you can essentially um but yeah i i and then three is like three is like a plus and uh it's never been ported to anything it's infuriating um for anyone who's never played onimusha isen is the main mechanic i would say where right before something is about to swing at you you slash and just do like a you know movie style samurai cut through it and it dies right away you fucking kill them they disintegrate off the hit which is you're dead yeah which plays interestingly when you start getting like the slower bigger guys with

shields because like they're so slow that the timing of their isens is weirder and harder so you have to rely on like i think like the dodges and the or the parries if you can um yeah it's it's fun it's fun and i do get the feeling of like sometimes you're fighting and the camera drops to some stupid resident evil hallway camera and you're gonna die if you don't lock on and start using the d-pad immediately you know because the stick starts going relative to the camera position but the tank controls on the d-pad are not so you have to you get in the flow of like always switching back and forth between the two on awkward camera cuts well the real solution is to just always use the d-pad but you can't run when you're doing that you're walking slowly or you're holding

down lock on and doing like smash brother style you can you can run with the d-pad did you have to hold down a face button as well yeah you hold down i think square i want to say okay because what holding down up and down you were doing walking speed and then hold it then the stick was just running that that direction you have to hold circle okay well you know yeah just like just like a resident evil game okay well anyways i mean uh yeah i know you want to play a really fucking weird game track down dino crisis one that game is just bizarre top to bottom but you're using guns right you're using tranquilizer darts sure sure like that's all it that all makes sense to me because you're it's projectile based which means

you're lining up your tank with the target down the hallway um the sword part of it where you're in you're in the the face you're you're you're up in up in the the everything's ass essentially is where it gets really weird because it's like you have to you you're surrounded on both sides and you do have to step into a place where you're not going to get hit but then the camera switches and you're like oh no where am i going let me let me put it to you this way and this is the weirdest thing about tank controls because uh it's it's almost like a pun in that they're a matter of perspective onamusha and godhand have really similar controls yeah yeah yeah the only thing that changes is where you put the camera absolutely yeah godhand is you know and it's if it makes

it's all the difference in the world it's all the difference uh but overall yeah so it's a cool game and i i do very much appreciate what they were doing back then i really wish they had ported the second and third ones forward that dub is fucking terrible oh i for i forget but i believe you perfectly bad wait no there it is in my mind oh yeah hmm hidey oh she sounds like a fucking freakazoid yes lord no boon i go will you yeah and you know what i think the only person i like in that first dub is guilden stern uh which one was that brain demon man the berserk yeah the berserk but the berserk is also another is a skeletor he's just he's doing a skeletor as well so yeah anyway it's pretty it's pretty it's pretty funny seeing how uh carried everyone is in this

story as well where it's like yeah nobunaga is just some punk that got killed but his did resurrected demon ass that's the word all the ambition came from man if you want to have some fun with voice acting if you get to fucking oh namusha three you get to deal with one of the most bizarre voice acting situations to ever exist where genre no is the second playable character famous french uh algerian what's that actor uh genre no and he plays the character in french in the beginning of the game and then a magical fairy uh makes it so that he can talk to samanosuke in what is in universe japanese and genre no just refused to do any english voice acting he did not give a shit and so it is played by a completely different person who does not sound like genre no and is

not good at voice acting yeah yeah it is so weird that's uh if you sign someone up for a deal like this the first thing you have to do before any any any mo capping or cool pictures to get them impressed and hyped is get all of the lines down you gotta do it you can't get left high he did okay if i remember correctly if you play the game in french there was a french version of course does do the french voice acting yes but didn't want to know it didn't want to do the english one or don't be a coward and just put subtitles down and go this guy speaks french what what this was in that era of people getting this was in the long ago era of the early aughts when if a game came out in japanese with subtitles people would get mad yes which is a far cry from

the early tens where it became the goddamn opposite not only games movies with subtitles elicited oh subtitles as a joke in pop culture as i mean they still do actually and it's basically like uh yeah bad movies because i can't hear the thing dubbed over is is you know so we've had five remains second five remains an absolute like standout legend in the history of voice acting by just completely giving up and just having a complete a cast of speaking 40 different languages all speak their own languages you see it as giving up i see it as not being cowards oh sure what whichever because just like who you know who's the most excited to see people speaking that language the people who speak that fucking language like the character shows up

from whatever country they're from people from that country are excited about that character and then they speak it too it's not just look wrong and back or speaking korean for example okay maybe not uh oh i thought you you went so still that i thought you dropped no i'm saying that like uh having everyone in their in their given language um is just it's because the other all the other thing is here comes bob macky harrah right and shut up whatever he you know he's half or something even though we don't draw him like that or whatever whatever they want to do with it you know um but a lot of cases it's like yeah you have the the or even in um neo they kind of just go like look he speaks english and hands understands you no one else does it's a thing

but um is there a mod for tech in seven that replaces every single line or grunt from lars to swedish chef borx i'm sure because if there isn't there should be on pc that that that ain't hard that ain't hard uh anyway that is a um that is pretty much it for me um gonna continue so this week disco elysium resumes uh i saw the title of the most recent episode i'm glad that you finally got there because that's a nice little punch in the gut and it's just oh no yeah i was feeling so cool about using my skills to figure out this where these tire tracks and you're like oh man look at me i'm a drunken mess but every once in a while my stats are like yeah put the trajectory together do the william defoe you know uh a spatial awareness cop and then and then you

gotta and then you gotta follow that to its conclusion um i ran into a problem it's the moment where you're just like do you think we can get it out and it like sinks deeper and you're like oh no i i ran into a problem where like not too far after that uh in disco elysium you walk into a house where there's just well first of all there's just two kids playing outside and i'm just like right those kids please be please be okay please children please be okay because so far we're over two and yeah that's right that's sure and then there and then they're just kids and you're like okay they're just and then you walk into a house and then there's like another little girl and she's like hi and she's like oh you like you want to feel the dolly or whatever and then yeah and and then

you just kind of have and then i'm like you i have a moment where i'm like i need to get out of this room immediately or i will destroy everything like you do not yeah i was i was in the middle of saying this character needs to get out of here he doesn't deserve this level of just like wholesome and then it's like will you put your face against the little dolly and i'm like no no i don't deserve this and then fucking kim is like put your fucking face on the doll officer you know just do it yeah it now my dolly smells like grandpa when you get introduced to like the horror of that world and yourself when something just normal and nice is occurring you feel so worried about what your role in this room will be in five minutes you just i'm like i can't i can't that very nice

dice lady almost had to see me strip my clothes off for no reason it happens man so i'm just like get out of this room leave leave a sap you can't you can't let this nice little wholesome corner get corrupted by your mess people in that village are pretty nice all things considered all things considered it's a pretty normal ish village for the world but i just i'm just like i am so just i'm like i yeah everything burns down behind this man as he walks like you can't you can't put yourself around these people you know the kuno juice might rub off on these these kids could i don't care you don't fucking care i don't care he's crazy man and i'm wearing his pants too so yeah anyway just oh you got the pants good for you disco elysium is is i i fucking just can't

when windows 11 becomes like a thing like a real thing for after a year or two and i'll probably use them to get a a big fancy new rig don't do the early windows version mistake no i do i just said when it becomes a thing a couple years in a couple years like as in as in windows 10 is starting to become deprecated okay okay because i ain't fucking i see that logo and i i like look i'm i have been burned so many times on the early pre-service pack uh uh versions oh no yeah you wait till the second one at least um what's going on on your end there i played a bunch of games this week i played a bunch of demos actually i played twi on god it's so awkward to say neo twi it's so uh neo twi i played it

so i got to actually experience a twi in a situation where i got to play with a regular controller um style points to the maximum it deserves every positive thing you can say about its use of color its character design its music does the combat even resemble the old system so yeah actually it really does uh they successfully translated it both awkward controls that have depth to them and pass the puck to a regular controller um you every different type of pin uses a different button on the controller so in the demo i had four pins that i got access to one was on triangle one was on square both of those were mashes one was on r1 that was a hold and release and one was on l2 and that was a just hold

and um what you're doing is you are holding one of those buttons or mashing or tapping or charging uh on an enemy until it gets a break or it signals for you to switch and then you switch to a different character because each pin is a character each character can only currently at least in the demo equip one pin so you're doing something like using the main character to mash triangle which is a series of slashes and then in the background you're holding the left trigger to cause one character's pin to burn them and so then the slashes will proc it and then the burn will proc it and then you're holding r1 and letting it go to hit it and it's uh like a combo it it is pass the puck and each pin and it is using regular buttons and each pin button has its own

cool down going yeah okay interesting it it works it works really well um it's very confusing to start like i was really just uh uh and then after the end of like a num uh an hour i was starting to get a hang of it sounds like means that every time you get a new type of pin you have to switch it'll have some different control like maybe it's tap on l1 or maybe it's hold on r1 or you know whatever um it's a cool idea and it makes me think wow they could have totally ported that first game with the controller all those years ago there was never any need for the motion or stylus controls other than the dual screen if they would they could have reinvented the system they would have had to like actually change the you know direct input movement and all that

shit but they couldn't it it it didn't need the power of the playstation four to fix that first game um the the one thing that uh i will not hold it against the game i will hold it against myself um this is the first game i have ever played in which it it was yelling at me that i was an old man um the kids are like it's teenagers in shibuya and they're texting each other and they're hanging a boot and talking about stuff and being dudes and i'm like i like just actively the whole time going uh what is that how the is that how the kids okay is uh all right are you getting mad at them for being kids like a what no i'm just confused okay i don't know what the kids are out about and then this guy's talking about math i don't know what's up with that

and i felt i felt like what i knew was it and now what i know is is is not with it and what's new is scary and confusing um like what was with it in the first game is now no longer with it those super cool fancy ass kids from the first game was fucking ages ago that's not even with it anymore yeah granted i was never with it and i think that's part of the problem yeah uh so that looks that looks promising uh both it and the next game i'm gonna talk about both do the thing where the demo is the first like hour or two of the game and your progress carries over so that's nice yep that's a cool demo gimmick um i also played i wanted to say code vain god damn it i i also played scarlet scarlet nexus yeah if you if you did say code vain i would have thought you meant

scarlet nexus all right so you could have just said it and it would have worked the conversation would have been weird because we would have went on about just scarlet nexus but i would have been like that part was yeah there's obviously a developer change here and it's slightly different in its mechanics and whatnot but the fastest way i can explain scarlet nexus to you or anyone else is what if astral chain was red uh uh will he left yeah what if astral chain was red um but astral chain is all is already red later on at the cool stuff ass astral chain is blue but when it gets red it does the cool stuff or maybe maybe later in

scarlet nexus it becomes blue i don't know okay does it continue because it seems like the trailers continue the legacy of crazy like dark fantasy and like over the top um bodies and armors and animations and things and then the most isekai protagonist ass anime faces stuck on those bodies okay so let's get it out of the way scarlet nexus is anime as fuck it is anime do you know how anime it is willy there's an anime airing right now well scarlet nexus okay and there's a quest in the game that requires passwords hidden in the background of the anime to access okay you meet hey look more anime it's the girl it's the girl with the fire powers her name is

hanabi uh do you get it it means fireworks ah okay it's anime as for the anime uh visually it's stellar it's styling it's it's it runs great uh it runs well it it plays well like it feels good to jump it feels good to slash it feels good to attack um its presentation is a really bizarre mix of action levels which feel like i don't know what i'd call them like a like a like a melee version of of psyops the mind gate conspiracy if that makes any sense whoa or it's like okay yeah okay where um basically you have you have your melee attacks which are wide or targeted and then you have your right trigger which is pick up an item and throw it and you combo in between throwing your your your cars and bicycles in your area and comboing and it it

wants you to combo combo combo and hold the right trigger to pick up an item and throw it and then use the throw animation to cancel out into melee buttons and there are specific cancels for those things okay they also have little special items that you would throw at things with l2 which give you special qtes so for example if you throw a vending machine at somebody it splits into two pieces and then you click you move both analog sticks together towards to uh to hit the enemy or if you have like a beam that you want to spin you spin the stick that kind of thing so what exactly is the power your character's power is called psychokinesis but it's basically telekinesis it's just high ed telekinesis and every other anime character

that you happen to hang out with has a different kinesis this one has electro kinesis this one has pyro kinesis okay this one has telepathy etc um and um your party will determine whether or not you can add those so you start with hanabi who's got fire powers you hit r1 and circle and a little cut scene will play and then you have fire attacks and your combo will change slightly um and you use that to so here's a here's a situation you will combo an enemy square square square and during that you'll hold r2 to throw an oil barrel at them which will then douse them in fuel at which point during that animation you will hold r1 and hit circle to cause your attacks to become fire based and then before the throw animation finishes you hit square to dash out of your telekinetic throw

into them with fire attacks so that they catch on fire did you have to pan over to an oil barrel and look at it and pick it no and then you hit right trigger and something is going to fly towards them okay this is a no look it grabs fucking something okay around you because what you're describing is also very forced unleashed forced unleashed rather um but you had to grab and look at the thing you wanted to force fuck around with you know i'll tell you what it feels like it feels like anime control okay yep that's a much closer example okay i was that was also like i was i was thinking about like the some of the powers in that yeah all right uh it so uh there's a there's a skill tree and the skill tree i like originally i was like wow this is kind of limited in terms of

movement and and stuff there's a skill tree that expands three times and even in the uh the the minor version like the bait you know the unupgraded version i saw air dashes i saw ukemi's i saw combo extensions where you can throw and do the back and forth like three four times like there's there's stuff there but you have to unlock it there's two characters the guy or the girl they have different paths the game wants you to play both i don't know if there's a third section that unlocks because the game is substantial uh what the girl uses like ninja stars that are telekinetic and has the same base power as the guy but they have different like completely different paths um one the story happens it is a visual novel is the anime telling the exact same story at the

same time i don't know i don't know anything about for a simultaneous release that'd be weird usually that um different thing i believe there it's a it's a setting where you could easily follow different other military cadets with magic powers um and uh so yeah they do a really interesting thing where they you know the bayonetta style cut scene where it's like a screenshot and nothing's moving yeah uh they do a really good job because the screenshot and the pan like the actual camera angle on the the the like plane of glass screenshot lives in is panning there's a lot of different shots and you have floating head portraits that also express emotions above it it's not the most expensive looking like talky cut scenes in the world but they do their

job it feels like some of the cheaper yakuza cut scenes um and then they will animate the more action moments like enemies attacking or you know big action set pieces are like when you beat a boss um the story is really weird and the setting is super cool the setting is cool in the way the astral chain setting was cool which is a cool neon japanese future um with with anime op's with high pitched voices singing yeah um the anime op is uh a real anime op and has a fucking licensed song in it that caused me to blow up my whole stream and that's why i lost some of the footage from it because i got deep enough into it before people were like hey this is a real song i'm like oh great delete the vaude during the fucking thing and uh um no option to uh unfuck yourself

in the settings huh yeah um the game seems super long actually i'm hearing 30 to 50 from people uh so it's beefy and everybody uh that i know that's been playing it has described it as uh fun pleasant cool it's it's it's really cool there's one hltb entry for 23 and a half hours yeah and that is that is not accurate um yeah most people are telling me 30 per character um yeah it's way better than code vein it's way better than code it's doing a unique visual thing with the red line tentacle you know energy stuff uh it's picking up it's picking a kind of thing and doing it um moments of code like like code vein really had these weird like no that's just a souls

with an anime head it's a it's a souls the anime head that like has no weights to anything that was my big problem with code vein is that nothing felt heavy um it has they have a cool thing going on with the the look of the way attacks work so the the guy has a sword the girl has the ninja stars and the guy has a sword and he holds it in his hand like sometimes and then you're floating it around like near other times like his first slash is a regular slash and then it holds the sword to the left and then the second slash is he puts his hand out to the right and the sword just goes from his left side to his hand on the right side and that counts as a slash and they're they're having a lot of fun with the telekinetic stuff

like one of the one of the the kills the girl has when i played the demo and she takes her ninja stars and pins a monster's leg with them and then just pulls psychokinetically until its head pops off so i remember yeah it seems cool so the thing that like and this is you know um an old head talking here obviously but i i remember back in the day i used to have big discussions with my friends about like anime art styles and like what's affordable how much you have to simplify when you decide to go with a a season of a show and like you know what's extreme and what's not and and i think that like knowing that you have to make concessions to art styles um for for tv and things like that you see a lot of designs get simpler in their in their

shading simpler in their overall like variety of like shapes and sizes of characters and things like that but when i look at like the main character of this like i just get hit with that thing of like you had places here where and and this is for anything that's anime as shit when you can describe it as this or you just kind of go like yeah i just wish the like not even the just the silhouette of the face was somewhat more unique you know oh let's be honest the main character uh guy of this game might as well be kirito yes and make fun of escaflonese noses all you want at least you know and i will at least you know who they belong to you know um and yet not everything is gonna gonna create a a a variety of facial styles because i mean it also is like

the 80s had a look to all the faces that had a very specific um there's a there's a a slimmer category of of of you know like the the the hot woman looks like this and then the burning blood guy looks like that and stuff and it just you know when we get into modern day things especially you start seeing in like gundam is an is an example where over the years there's so many that come out during every period of anime that it has to adapt to what uh is contemporary so you see at you see gundam as a franchise every time they they they're dropping a new one in this time frame in this decade or whatever it's gonna update its looks and its colors and its hairstyles to match with what we can do and and also what's appealing but man i just really like it how much your saniness is like

your your your pal who's not quite as good as you and who's crazy about the girls has that look and then there's the bitchy girl who's got the white hair and then the nicer girl who's got the blonde hair with the drills and she's got the big eyes and the the other girls and then there's the little guy with it's yeah they're generic as shit it's really weird because their outfits and the the the neon like ui elements coming off of them are so elaborate and so interesting and they're being draped on what i would essentially call mannequins but i'm i'm like yeah but i'm hope i'm holding the mic i'm holding the the magnifying glass up to just facial features even you know there's a decision you can make where you're like let's go with a jet like gundam seed there's an art

there's an artist that is i forgot the name it's behind the the look of the thing and then everything kind of looks like that and scryde kind of looks like it as well because that's the style but you just kind of hope to see like yeah just just some level of more like you didn't yeah it's you didn't grab a folder and slap it together you know because i mean i saw okay so so sorry just i'm just reminded quickly that um petty arcade in later later years uh gabe uh basically had a reference of like multiple faces angles jaws head shapes that he gets slapped them together and he'd put them together and create characters with that and then like have them from different angles and then that would help do the daily comic so to speak and that's all good because those are

still his art and he's making his own collection of pieces to put together for a mr potato head but when it's all shared by the industry when it's a mr potato head that's shared by the industry i just gotta i just get a little ting of like god fucking damn it like just put a little more all right in that this is this is mainly gonna play to woolly because i'm sending the images to him but um i sent you a screenshot of like a world shot and how complex the signage and world design is and then i sent you a screenshot of your best friend who's the loser of the group and it's like the amount of detail that goes into the environment and like the weapon attacks could be last of us is like a plus and then the amount of like look and it's it must just be a design thing and then

it must be within your body is just just an anime kid you know and you're like yep i will say that the the anime shader look that they're doing is incredible it looks perfect it looks great but but here's the other thing too right like we were talking about danganronpa the other day and danganronpa is anime is shit to the extremes yeah up to 13 but not everyone is drawn the same way every there are they have unique faces bodies and shapes and you know you're completely right and they happen to look unappealing whatever but they are and ugly sure anyways they and it looks like a bad art that is made to make you go sad in your in your brain no they don't but you know they do go through the effort of like they they look different the characters look different from

each other you know they uh you give them that credit so you can do both you can be pure anime while also not reaching into the potato head bag and using exactly those faces and noses and and general shapes but then again it's like if you're going for a protagonist then it has to be the every man so you know yeah damn spike spiegel has a good face you know it's long i like spike it's got thin eyes got a weird fro thing that like kind of looks like it has volume but it curls if you run your hands through it you're like i think i know how that would feel but i'm not sure you know yeah you know what drove we you know what anime style drives me absolutely fucking insane and the persona anime uh was guilty of it um regular ass anime face but the shading is that the chin

up is a pink gradient do you know what i'm talking about when that when it's like not anime shaded but the but the line art is anime style no like like the their their face starts pink at the chin and becomes less pink as it goes up the face i don't know what you mean uh let me find it persona i will find a screenshot of this p4 anime somewhere is already is that yeah i'll never find it now now that i said it i'll never be able to find it any other shows that use that no just that one okay yeah i'm seeing it now i see a picture of chi a like that yeah i see it that's unusual crazy yeah that is not uh there's a there's a no it's not going to really work for the for visually here but there's like i just i just googled p4 anime and then like you

scroll down a little bit and then you can see like screenshots of like yeah their mouths are tanned but their eyes are not yeah okay the first group shot yeah they all have they all have it yeah every single character in that shot has it this has to be fucking crazy i don't know this style this is not a thing i've seen anywhere else i'm not familiar with this it's also missing from other screenshots of this thing i literally i literally don't know what to call it you can see the most uncongies face weird it's like yeah it's like everyone nuts everyone got tanned with shades on it really feels like they want to add like a like a detail that but not actually add a detail so just just put a gradient shade on it that doesn't correspond to any kind of lighting everyone's

got a weird homer mouth like it's just i'm i'm i'm an art genius by the way that's how i can notice these things uh so yeah uh scarlet next is good good game cool game very anime i like it uh just check it out if you want it's meaty so if you want a big meaty anime game uh apparently it's made by some of the tales people which would explain why some of the healing items are tales healings items like apple gel okay like that um and last but not least i played monster hunter stories too which has a demo on the sorry everyone likes scarlet nexus looks way cooler whenever it has their hoods up dude the hood is your devil trigger thing if everyone just had their hood up the whole time and they got the they got the runer face

with the death punk thing oh yeah it looks really great it's your hood on that's your reward for playing well you take the take it off you just get this fucking visual not so i played anyway anyway i played that monster hunter stories two uh demo and i think i remember telling you that like monster hunter stories one was like a huge disaster in the west like it just sold like complete garbage um and after playing the monster hunter stories two demo and going back to play monster hunter stories one which uh the most up-to-date version of that game is on the phone to the point where i'm emulating it in blue stacks and just put a guide on my channel as to how to play that with mouse and keyboard on blue stacks if you don't want to play it on your phone um i'm starting to

understand why it was a huge disaster in the west can you and that's because can you control it with a controller on your phone no okay the phone controls are actually pretty good the reason i switched to blue stacks is because it does that thing where if your phone puts itself to sleep and drops the internet connection the game goes hey you're not lights and then drops you out of your sleep state and then you're back to the main menu um and also i'd prefer to play it with mouse and keyboard honestly uh is the ds or 3ds version does it look inferior oh fuck yeah but if you emulate it not it looks about the same problem with the 3ds version is 3ds version doesn't have the high rank part of the game 3ds version is like two or three patches behind

the phone version okay and is thus missing like dozens and dozens of monsters um so i'm starting to understand why it was a big bad in the in the west and that's because even up until i was 10 minutes into playing the demo for the second game i did not quite understand what it actually was i thought oh page can you mute that i'm like uh i thought it was a generic ass rpg that you would get party members that were like oh i got a teagricks or oh i got a rathalos or what have you as you go through your adventure um do you remember the last time we bitched about sword and shield where i discovered i discussed what if instead of adding hundreds of pokemon to these games they had just kept input like innovating on these

gameplay advancements yes over and over and they made a small roster pokemon with like 10 years of advancements that's what this is monster hunter stories is a pokemon clone well clearly and i wait you knew it was a pokemon clone i assumed it was monster hunters foray into the pokemon style buddy adventure that's how the trailer was marketed yeah i did i don't know how i didn't realize it then because uh like it's not you get your buddy rathalos and you go on an adventure it is you're going out to get like essentially i think it's a list of a hundred and then the second game it might be 120 or whatever i mean whatever that first trade show was where the

trailer dropped where you saw the kid and then your little his little buddy dragon was like oh yeah there's your there's your Pikachu you know and then you do it i i thought it was you and that dragon for the game because all the promotional stuff was just those two am i the only stupid idiot on this it i i only saw the trailer but yeah that i don't know um does it um um oh yeah everyone's saying i'm the stupid idiot yep i'm trying to be nice but okay what well how's how's how does the battle system compare uh it's very different so uh it's doing something

kind of like temtem does where the overwhelming majority of your fights are you and the monster you're actually an active combatant so it's a 2v whatever you know be it one or two or three or four and it's kind of a weird mix of like persona three and some of that because you most of the time don't directly control the monster oh no uh no no no it it i think it it works fine what it ends up being is that you have a rock paper scissors which is power speed technique and will each one beats a different one and loses to the other and uh outside of special attacks being a flame move or a poison move or what have you all generic attacks are one of these three and whereas you don't 100 directly control your monster you'll know for example that

that on arzaros will tend towards power attacks or a yun kut ku will tend to uh technical attacks and thus you can plan oh i'm going up a zam trios zam trios tend to do speed and technical so i want something that does power and technical what does power and technical right now in my party uh my kezu does power and technical so i put the kezu in and if i want to change it you can use what is essentially mp to take manual control and tell it what to do okay sound because i was gonna say initially sounds a little like dokapan battle system ish with the that rps aspect of like and then the tendencies of like you're a random mage showed up guess what he's probably going to be casting right um yeah but so the monsters tend to have

patterns so like uh zam trios it's not set in stone but zam trios tends to do something like technical speed speed and that he'll mix and match different like special moves in there but he almost always does technical speed so when your turn comes it's just going to do an action based on its its tendencies yeah or you can override it at the cost of mp yeah so the there's a bar that builds up as you do well and it's called kinship and i can cash in say 15 kp to tell my monster to use a technical attack now they have to learn these okay but okay like if if it's doing a power attack and i'm like no in my gut i know that's gonna lose out i can make it do that or i can make it do like a fireball which is generic and doesn't interact with the system

at all uh and then your own character also is integrating into the system and using special moves associated with it okay so it's it's not yeah it's not like do a command and it's like now i'm doing something else or some shit like that yeah okay all right all right and on top of that if if uh if your monster or your character is going to win the rock paper scissors against it and the other character also did the same type of attack you get to do a dual attack and then once you fill that bar up you can ride the monster which heals you both and then enables you to do essentially uh it's basically a z move like you do a pose and the monster does like a custom move that does a shit on a damage um i really like it and it's really

good monster hunter stories one is a little limited uh and then stories two like the big thing that i found in the demo is the ability to switch weapons because you've got great sword sword and shield hunting horn hammer bow and gun lance and they all have very similar mechanics to how you would expect it to play out um and there was like in the in the monster hunter stories two demo the first like real fight is against a kuli yaku and you're fighting it as normal until it picks up a rock its big fancy defensive move is that it picks the rock up to defend itself at which point you have to switch to a hammer to knock the rock out of its hands okay um and it's just a really good synthesis of the classic monster hunter feel and mechanics into a turn based rpg um it's a

weird thing somebody asked me how i felt about it and it was the only reason i'm getting excited that it was a pokemon game with animals i actually gave a shit about and that's definitely part of it certainly yes um you mentioned on that note actually that you know the early like whatever a new monster hunter thing starts there's a catalog of fucking tons of them that you can uh that that are favorites but like they have to start with like some essentials or whatever like is it like that yeah this where it's like they're missing like a fuck ton or did they act well you said the a small roster so i'm assuming they went with like a small the monster hunter stories one has a roster of 100 and in some cases that includes the

generic smaller monsters so like a bull fango like which is like that bull like small monster or a pulpo or an epseroth you know those stegosaurus looking dudes you can have that okay but they hit a lot of the winners people are saying 270 for monster hunter stories too wow that's a lot um that's pokemon that's a lot more that's pokemon that is pokemon numbers um and uh it's just like i don't know how much this means to people that don't play monster hunter but in stories one when i walked up to a uh when i walked up to a mining spot and hit the button and your character pulls out a pickaxe and got the pickaxe and it made the noise that it's supposed to make i marked out and stories two doesn't have that because stories

two is going off of rise stories two is like going off of the changes they made to their height into each other with the with the promotional stuff too yeah okay uh so instead what happened is like the very first skill you learn in monster hunter stories two for the great sword is the first skill that you learn for the great sword in rise okay and like i'm like oh they it's the thing it was a lot of wow it's the thing do they have all the series that i is it is it actually no they have the six okay uh in the original in stories one it's a great sword sword and shield hammer hunting horn and in the sequel they're adding bow and gunlands because what's cool about like adapting this franchise into that format is that it's not just the fact

that there's the monster variety it's the fact that the weapons are also as characteristic and as important to the brand yeah as the monsters are so you get to represent yeah that's that's dope i always got the impression and it's like i i went to a store in my game recently and like the the armor upgrade was the bonobra tuxedo made out of purple butterflies i was like oh that that stupid fucking armor okay i guess i'm wearing that like i remember with the first one i got the idea of like um so like a salary man goes out and buys a copy of the latest hardcore mon hunt thing and then gets stories for his kid and goes like hey look that kind of let me introduce you to this world of monster hunter and and and shit through but the the reality of that was that actually he

would get another copy of monster hunter for the kid sure and the adults would actually be the one more interested in stories um yeah it's a it's a pokemon clone i think it's a particularly good one and i'm not sure how much i can tell you is because it's a based on that thing that i like uh well i'd like i've been spending just a shit ton of time with that i think it's great i mean people coming along and and trying to fix the the the the pokemon take um now we've got a handful of these things or things that just go in a completely different direction with the idea of collecting a lot of different monster types um the comparison to how much better it is than pokemon is a little less interesting to me than say how it is compared to as you mentioned

temtem or um something like cybersluth where it's a it's a different style of game but like it's still yeah you and a buddy and like hundreds of variations yeah the the what the they made a solution i'm gonna use a solution in air quotes here to the the pokemon problem which is in pokemon it's really easy to get pokemon it's just time consuming to get all the pokemon like you want to get a pikachu you see pikachu you beat a pikachu a little bit you throw a pokeball at it right like and it becomes a collecting thing in uh stories uh you are going into randomized little mini dungeons to steal eggs and then it plays into like a gotcha system it's not monetary it's just like you're searching for eggs is this the one you want is this the one you want and you're

looking at the the stripes on the eggs or what have you um and so actually getting like a legombi took me like an hour earlier today like i got a cool a bunch of cool kezuz but i wanted a legombi um and since you have tons of those they have a system where you're basically playing uh eugenics with your monsters and you're swapping skills between them you're basically doing uh demon fusion with these things so i was gonna say to put skills over onto them i was gonna say it's funny because demon fusion and like collecting demons in smt i don't for for some reason even though it is my brain doesn't like immediately put it in the same category because simply of the cosmetic uh of these are not your pets these are like not even your friends the freak monster ass

holes they're demons who've made a contract with and i don't give a fuck about kicking one to the curb and pulling back another more powerful one or fusing two of them into each other you know in some cases like in smt three they're demons you have forcibly entered into a contract so it doesn't at all feel like you and your and your fun pet buddies at all in in stories it's so weird like it's clearly the demon fusion mechanic and there's like this massive energy beam that comes from one as you steal its genes so you can teach a legombi a fireball and then they're like and then that monster is let back into the wild okay yeah yeah yeah it's like okay all right yeah okay you sucked its brain out and then just yep sure i know the storyline like the storyline of the first game

is very simple it's like about as simple as the old monster hunter games uh the most interesting thing about them is that you're playing a a tribe of writers who can befriend the monsters that otherwise would be hunted in all the games and the guild of hunters is a different faction that are in some cases at odds with your personal philosophy like the start of the second game is during a cross cultural event to foster goodwill with the hunting guild they try and kill the island's rathalos because they see a rathalos and they go oh that's dangerous we gotta get it for the ecosystem so do they come across as the violent adults that are not cool enough to be friendly with the monsters they they they come across as like dumb ass army characters okay now how does this fit in

with the extremely planned meticulous conservation efforts of the hunting when you're doing this from the opposite end in one of the proper games i have been told that the story of part one actually deals with poaching in universe and what poaching is about and non guild poaching because if that if they framed everything you were doing for the past entire franchise as bad that would be a problem i've run into some hunters in the first game and they seem chill they seem like non psychopaths but that doesn't mean that the team rocket of monster hunters is not out there okay i'll let you know as i keep going i freaking love this shit i think particularly stories too because it's getting a steam release

which is an advantage over most of the other things in the genre okay is definitely gonna be worth checking out the demo is really good unfortunately the demo's not out on pc demo's only out on switch so in in in what we were just in what i was just describing there the end results on the flop side is if you're stopping these unlicensed poachers and blood thirsty hunters from doing their thing that could then result in you're playing say monster hunter rise or monster hunter universe and every once in a while as you're hunting something um some adventurous plucky looking kid runs out in front of the monster and says no and holds his hands out and stops you from the tip from killing it well i should i should mention

you i don't think you've played rise yourself but rise did implement a monster riding mechanic yeah that i did see i did see that the difference the difference is is that it is a forcible mechanic like the writers in the story are like we're becoming friends we're becoming pals yeah the riding in rise is i'm gonna use this fucking bug to attach wires to all of your limbs yeah and corral you like an angry horse you are you are you are becoming what is essentially a brain controlling parasite for a moment and forcing it to do your will that's not the same thing but the idea of there being like the you know we can be friends with the monsters don't attack it but these are happening in universe from two different franchise angles is a fucking weird one

if if well luckily they tell you at the beginning that these tribes are very isolated okay i don't know man i i i really dug it i thought like all three of these games that i played i think are great and people should check out because that's what i think the way it works is like if you if it's conservation right this is what you've told me they come up with a number of rathalos tags and they go say all right we've the population is now at such that we can afford and we or we need to call 50 rathalos this year and no more than that and so they give out 50 tags and then everyone has to go out and do their thing and you exactly let and then you exactly keep account on everyone's doing what they're doing their job so you don't have the overpopulation and blah blah blah

so whatever they're befriending would i would then have to be in the uh uh uh retainer population i don't know well i'll i'll i'll be real blunt here the the the all the monsters that you have as your pal have to be domesticated from egg onwards and the beginning parts of these games is still like hey there's an arzaros blocking the road take your monster and go kick the shit out of it and you're getting parts from your random battles all right don't like at the end of the day despite the fact that you are riding your monster you're still going out there to fuck monsters up because there's they're in your way can your own can your buddy lose a tail no but you can actually make other enemies lose tails that is a mechanic of your boss fights

fucking hero of his own his own thing um now but you wouldn't know that from talking to him for a few minutes no you wouldn't you wouldn't necessarily uh yeah luigi you do get to talk to in some things as he stands around but mario even in a game like even in rpg's like paper mario for example or or my rpg he still doesn't have much to say like what would have our mario what do i do about this rash on my dick fucking what what do i do my dick hurts oh yeah yeah it wouldn't work as well sonic sonic isn't a uniquely favorable position for this uh for this this angle um and then yeah future future beyond that like theme park etc where you know it kind of like obviously like you can imagine just as we saw nintendo world roller coasters where you do loop-de-loops that are

designed after green hill zone but then also dangerous bouncing springy traps in real life that your kid might jump on and like impale themselves on spikes right in front of the that's fine yeah that's fine so builds character yeah um anyway a bunch of new announcements uh one yeah the sonio the world ends with you uh the demo dropped uh on the 25th and the final trailer shown off as well but yeah you already talked about playing that so that was there um it's fun dante in smash as we covered as well uh they broke down kazia we saw the the how his moves work and how they're planning to do it did you see did you see any of that easiest 10 string ever so when i was thinking about how to make kazia faithful in tecan or from tecan in in smash world

like the easy way would have been to take his most useful war attacks put them on his b tilts and juice them up for you know spatial recovery and and positional recovery and things like that instead they went with b moves that you're just like demon transformation moves for all his recovery and and positional purposes and then just putting the rest of the move list on the a button which is the batshit crazy way to do it yeah they went the hard way for a 10 hit what what what okay but beyond that like forward forward uh down you know do your do your electric input without the the neutral they went a little more forgivable on that um thank god man that input sucks but here's what's crazy like in terms of the level of precision on all all eight directions

and then all the different uh inputs they have while rising attacks that's a while rising attacks are like that's actually a like that's a whole category that even fighting game players that don't play tecan are not used to because it's so specific are you telling me that smash players are gonna have to learn okie no it's not no that's not while rising oh okay my mistake while rising attacks are not like what you do that this is exactly what i'm talking about actually like people familiar are still because it's no other game does this except for like cell soul caliber um while rising attacks are when you crouch and let go of crouch and are on the way to standing up but you have not yet stood up yet press the button there while rising i thought you

meant like getting up from a fall no oh god vf has this too and they're awkward there too okay so they it's included in there as well that i didn't i didn't i didn't even know um tecan has extra moves for that state where you crouch let go of crouch and then on the way up but not fully standing you do a a a mid or whatever button you press and then another attack comes up you know and it's not specifically when you're downed because you can do it while you're like on offense and just crouching it's crazy that they put that level of detail in on on kizuya and smash and why wouldn't sakurai sakurai go the hard way on this so well okay well it's insane all right that's i don't even really think about crouching and exactly right and and so not only

is it here but each of these little moves he's any pretty and he says like you don't have to learn them all but then they're going to serve functions like if you do his forward forward like um the step axe kick right um or like the hatchet kick kind of thing he uses it and it deflects projectiles yeah okay so that specific normal has a function you know wait does does does smash have wake-up attacks um while you're recovering you can you can do an attack while you're getting up yeah uh yes when you roll either direction but then why then why are smash pros so bad at wake up anyway

so um what you can do is you can do forward uh you can go uh down forward down down forward and get a command throw so he actually has command throw inputs as well that's really weird it's insane they went way beyond what they needed to because 3d games have been known for being exhaustive with their move lists and sakurai just committed to it at a level that i'm sure or like namco didn't even ask for i'm just thinking about the nightmare that it would be to include a virtual fighter character in which a is punch and b is kick and block and just just going for it keeping the button layout yeah keep the buttons yeah yeah yeah it's like hey akira has 85 normals he only has he only has a double jump but the jump is

super high because it's the grounded attack it's the big flying the big flying knee yeah um no it it's because it's gonna be insane it's gonna be really dumb um and pro kazooia players are probably gonna just dominate i can see that for a little bit anyway just because of the toolkit if you have the execution for it that's gonna be fucking incredible you know and like they are having that many normals means different things that people that people have to react to at different ranges different threats different speeds you know like there's all these different things he can do um and and you can get three different inputs for what was it for the no you can do the like wind godfist you can do the electric wind godfist

you can do the version where you hold it down for the uppercut uh all all versions and all moves and all variations plus he has a rage art plus he has a rage mechanic he can get to wait here what he has a rage art he has a rage mechanic and rage art you hit him he takes damage glows red gets to 100% does more does 1.1 damage on everything and then you do his down b and he does a rage art version of it like yeah uh drive rather what that's okay not rage art rage drive excuse me uh yeah they they just went crazy with it mechanically which again they've done with every other smash character they've they've went beyond the call of of of what would be expected so uh yeah I expect because I expect him to come in and dominate for a while on that it's a pretty nuts breakdown of him

they spend like a good like like five ten minutes doing the b buttons and then the rest of it is just here's all of his a attacks and his eight here's all his shit um so there's that uh yeah and then just uh you know a couple a couple whispers and uh some other fighting games and things like that multi blood type lumina the new game september 30th people are posting screenshots of hitboxes from that game and I don't understand what's going on um I haven't seen how wait of the new one or the old multi blood no no of the old one of the old one okay like multi blood hitboxes are goofy yeah I mean somebody sent me this photo and it's apparently like a a famous multi blood uh uh hitbox I just sent it to you yeah uh huh yeah it's um it's Kirby porn everybody it's Kirby

porn anyway uh I was gonna say there's I believe the account is I think the account is actually called hitbox porn or something along those lines where it's just like insane ridiculous highly high priority moves and things KOF hitboxes is something anyway it's all right type luna is probably gonna be pretty good I I will look at the melty blood for the first time since god I want to say the last time we played it on the getting the fighting games which must have been like five years ago six years ago it's interesting because they have new sprites they have you know new animation in a budget for a brand new game here but to make the characters look as accurate as possible to the nasu verse art

they're gonna just look like better animated versions of what we already had they can't look so drastically improved you know uh it's kind of like like if you look at any like other fighting games over the years you know like sol or Ryu or kyo have gone through like different art styles different builds and different like changes to like their overall proportions whereas like here fucking shikis look redrawn he's gonna look like he's got the same same facial everything all of it's there yeah it's really weird because they're relatively simple designs and they just got cleaned up a little bit better animation and they re-recorded some of the lines too you could hear them saying some of the the shit they used to say in the old game but you know it's yeah it's there's not much

else there's nowhere else to go with it it says it's about as faithful as you can get because that's the that's the limit of the art style in a way um that's dropping soon someone this is a this is like a bit of a non thing it's a bit of a non story but it still is a bit of a story because of the fact that it was even acknowledged but Phil Spencer was asked about killer instinct oh really and they're like what's the deal do you think there's any what's what's going on and basically he said that um they have had conversations internally about it and they do want to revisit it and it's just about finding the time and the team and the you know looking for the right opportunity etc we love the franchise and the community response right

a lot of a lot of that that means nothing a lot of non nothing but all that to say that the the efforts of like Maximilian pushing it forward with you know the the um with the ki lives tournament and uh hold back to block with the documentary on ki and like now going into the music as well a lot of this stuff has not been unnoticed they did notice it and they are are having conversations as as it were but you know nothing committal was really really sad so um yeah man it it it would be fucking like even if like i don't think the right move would be like a port but uh clearly the groundwork for this franchise has like for this for for this one returning entry to be as solid as it is at this point after all this time

that's like like usually a reboot would then have a next step two to it a strive you know what i mean excerpt had all its versions now we're on the strive ki strive would be like a fucking like it'd be amazing because like they've already learned all the lessons they needed to along the way so you'd want a completely new entry i would i wouldn't just want a port of uh of ki as is uh because i could i could get in on board with that yeah because i the the the game is amazing but um a fresh start is always friendly to a new audience you know it's all like people that are intimidated by an existing roster for a long time that they've missed out on or players being too good then have to uh then can just get a fresh start with a brand new game

ki right now seems like a match-up learning nightmare like well it is thinking about omen it is if you but if you if you want to yeah if you if you want to get to that point with it right if you just want to pick it up and have fun you can that's that's the thing is like you can get to that in between spot of like just enjoying your character and what your character does and and you know and i and i kind of like when i learned agonist i started from scratch in a way because i was like very uh i'd playing thunder the entire time so but i know it's just kind of having fun with the stuff agonist does you know and then um you get to like yeah fighting an omen or fighting a shadow jago

or some character where you just like uh or you know where you're like you need to know what you're looking at to not get melted um but but there's a gap in in time between where those two things necessitate i remember uh playing against a friend of mine back when we were playing casually i picked up uh garkos the gargoyle balls and like just my friend like yelling at me on discord just like what is happening what are you doing as like the teleport fists and the minions are just flooding the screen with bullshit yeah that jack oh shit where it's just buddies are on or that uh or that new 13 shit the um the cool thing too is that this ki if they made a new one would benefit from launching straight to steam as well as xbox therefore not isolating the audience therefore

actually not taking forever to land a decent following you know and do the cross play too yeah always with the cross play now or if you're getting happy that that's like becoming like the norm like the expected so a game with cross play and game pass like that's that's a ton of players out of all of a sudden so yeah that'd be a smart move uh and then what else we got going on over here just a pretty cool looking indie game that is not out yet but there's a demo for this i'm gonna drop a link to the steam profile it's called wolf stride and this is just a heads up for a small oh man we didn't talk about this just a heads up for a small game that looks fucking badass you are basically a team of three that are tinkering and building a robot that's going to be a giant

mecha battle uh at some point in the game uh otherwise you're rpg-ing it as you tinker and the style is very strong um it's it's all um black and white it's all monochromatic it's all like heavily stylized exaggerated characters the mechs are um the parts at least seem to like draw inspiration from tons of different styles of mech as well uh and from what i can see in the trailer it looks like there's like five life bars for like each part of the robot's limbs and and you target different areas and things like that so yeah it looks fucking rad wolf stride is the name of it there's a demo out i didn't touch it yet but just absolutely worth bringing to everybody's attention uh because the shit's hot and it looks unique looks cool

yeah yeah it um there's a comic book there's a comic that i had that kind of had an art style similar to this from a while ago and i forget what the fuck it was called but yeah anyway make sure to check this out uh does it say when the full things no planned release coming soon so yeah playable demo that's about it very cool on that and then yeah uh a little bit here and there there's some big big news big noise being made about the beast wars you hear all this shit i did hear some of this big news big beast wars news page saw the optimist primal and she started to do the you know that level of cry right before the ugly cry mm-hmm she'd walk she ran into the tv and like almost touched it yeah and the gasp and she was

like it's so beautiful so here's i was like okay it's just a tv show honey so here's what's nuts right here's how much news noise about beast wars beasties if you're living in canada uh there's multiple stories because they're doing multiple things mm-hmm they're bringing back uh the roster in transformers um uh a war for cybertron kingdom mm-hmm with there's a picture of the group and it's like yep that is just exactly the maximals that's the gang and uh i guess we'll see how they get implemented is this a time shenanigans thing is this a yes okay that's i mean let's like really come on yeah because beast wars is a period of time that starts

and ends so there's no other way to get these characters doing new things unless you did time fuckery um so yeah war uh for cybertron kingdom on netflix is like yo it's the fucking it's them it's the it's the crew um i'm i'm very very excited to see that play out uh are they getting back all the voice actors shits uh i know they're not getting back gary chalk for optimus because they're going with the ron pearl man okay now hold on a minute because that's the second piece of news but i don't think ron pearlman is for this show i think ron pearlman is being cast for the movie called transformers rise of beasts which is the new film so there's another beast wars thing happening the the the michael bay series movie series the next one is called rise of the

beasts and it's casting ron pearlman as optimus primal but that's a different thing from war for cybertron that's why i'm saying what holy shit beast wars time uh uh trans transformers i'm honestly confused at all these different pieces okay uh pearlman robots turn into animals and then my favorite robots get killed because the toy didn't come out okay uh so basically they're bringing back beast wars as a part of the the war for cybertron netflix show and they're bringing back and they're gonna go into a beast wars related storyline in the in the live action movies which of the two i mean it looks like at least the screenshot of the of the netflix netflix series looks like that's literally just the characters whereas the new live action franchise is going to

be like whatever their adaptation of it is i don't i haven't i've only seen the first one i say michael bay because he did that one and you know what i mean live action even if he's not the most of them do you think they're finally gonna let donal bot and rat trap kiss i don't i don't do you think that's gonna stop anyone it didn't before dude we couldn't even get fucking air razor and tigatron making out properly bird life they fused into a single energy being yeah is that like sex not i mean yeah you can but then their toy didn't come out and then they killed the toy because the yeah they killed
