The crime that bests the city streets of Seattle, I'm high on good times, and alcohol, and Pat are high on man. This city doesn't look as cool as Make it so remember remember when it's sucker punch was all like man. I love Seattle so much historic city is got Frasier as a boss fight and like fucking just just crack heads everywhere yeah everywhere you know I do want to believe you at first but then we we what we have an adventure we had an adventure and by the end of it I just I'm like Pat when you're right you're right and fuck this I guys were like you guys were on a spirit quest to mcdonald's movie level crack heads right movie level crack heads we saw the man on the corner with the jogging pants with

the outline of the fucking gun so plexigirl bird the plexigirl bird we saw Simon phoenix from demolition man and we and we had the moment of going into the sketchy mcdonald's because everything's fucking closed everything's closed can't find a red bull and we're like why would everything be closed and it says doesn't say mcdonald's it actually they have written sketchy mcdonald's and and I have the moment of going into the bathroom getting the key and whatever and immediately being followed by black dude and hoodie and and and fucking gun whatever beanie and coming right behind me and I'm like I post up like all right I take my piss and immediately back up he's putting shit on you and like well the guy's in front of me and he's like yeah I'll leave the stick

running for you fam and I'm like yeah I don't know that's cool you know do my thing and like back out and like in a five second time frame I basically am like why is this guy coming right behind me as well he cartwheels out the instant the instant will he walks out the door the dude walks out right after him he walked in the bathroom to do nothing or something and then came back out right probably you probably thought like something like that you would I don't know I wasn't fair no I was basically like mid conversation with Pat going like it's fine yeah so this guy wants to walk six blocks in a fucking scary city to get a red bull like you motherfucker you're gonna walk six blocks in this fucking shit downtown and I'm gonna have to explain to the fans and

leave and man how you're dead you know you're fucking crazy Pat comes out of that bathroom say okay Pat you know and then the walk back up where we see the aforementioned crack head and gun man crack is strong and you're playing a level of narc yeah and by the time we hit the hotel like the anger we had at everything being closed becomes an understanding why these things are closed with a final remark and thought on the fact that we have not seen a single cop car the whole time the entire time we were here the popo is just like when it's pax weekend we can't do anything so uh for those of you who are picking up what we're throwing down here we are those of you who live in Seattle I'm sorry we are at pax prime we have just finished day three it is sunday

today so we're recording this early this is all confusing so if anything happens at tgs fuck us yeah I guess I'm gonna be late but we were but we were able to catch the new 3ds and a couple of the other announcements yeah analog stick for monster hunter analog yeah it's pretty good so we're pretty much just gonna be I guess running down our thoughts on how the weekend went what's going on yeah yeah we did I mean all in all I think yeah because since we're not gonna be here for monday safe to say is we're going to be busy being destroyed on monday thank you champagne person oh champagne oh champagne oh we got champagne sorry champagne champagne yeah champagne would you like some champagne here you get a champagne we were we got to hang out with the guys in game

society I don't fucking do this for walking through so yeah it's appropriate I saw by the way can I just say that drunk Matt is best Matt I'm really it's you guys took too long setting up to like a waffle at my majesty that now that we're starting it's like I already feel like no reason there was gold coming out just a moment ago and that's why we have champagne or something yeah okay because you need to keep this going because everything that's coming out of my mouth is caramel and Matt's like yo I think I need some water and I'm like you fucking you get no water stay as beautiful as you are man you're a little snowflake all right let me open this in a safe place oh this is good podcast under under the table next to all the electrical wires they're not my

he bought a bunch of pop that just exploded and blamed me for everything because people don't know how to slowly open two-liter bottle this tiny not hard this tiny weird moment of us opening up the champagne bottle reminds me a lot of these wonderful live recording sessions that we had today yeah that we should have drank more during we should have yeah it was 10 in the morning Matt it was 10 in the morning so if you came back it would have made them way better all right you're good Liam you came back I don't have seen us stall for 20 minutes playing sneak game what a fantastic man you got a flasks worth of champagne we need you loaded all right all right so house packs Seattle's a shithole there's no there's no way I actually well you guys well you guys had your

shithole me and Matt walked like fucking 500 blocks we walked up the type of streets that cars have giant chases over in San Francisco exactly those huge hills and we walked that shit up and it was really good we went to the evil within event and there was a line of like literally a thousand people this is the most disjointed narrative entirely you know we can do it really good this time okay and Matt looked at it and said there's no way we're getting in and I said let's bullshit our way in and so we bullshitted our way past the whole okay so I'll tell you more can I totally wins packs because because yeah we went to this evil within event that was happening at like a nightclub or whatever and when we get there there's a gigantic line and like Liam said Liam was like

let's bullshit our way in breakfast we have we don't have exhibitor badges oh yeah yeah we didn't get excited we have normal badges so jump so basically like what badges we are basically equipped a gambit on the license board that said why don't we just bullshit our way through and I'm like and that's not gonna work it's not gonna work it's not gonna work you have no confidence I have no confidence in the sword that I have and then uh we go up and Liam's like we're from machinima and the guy's like uh who from machinima and Liam's like Matt and like throws to Matt like he calls me as an assist and goes uh Matt who from machinima and I go this guy and he goes okay and he goes back into the club and comes back to this guy and presumably does something and he

comes back out and goes okay so we were able to like circumvent the thousand person line to play evil within and like a nice spooky environment where a guy with like a chainsaw like is staring at you screaming at you and there's free food and some swag you know it's really it's really bad considering I also got into the evil within but at the booth yeah and I also got in by pulling a favor yeah I was not supposed to get in but a nice fan pulled some strings and got me into the demo when I was not supposed to you let him take an extra spot at the end of the line after the cutoff ah good stuff I love you guy good guy okay okay but we're going backwards we're we're going all over the place but I guess like the flighting was fine right I mean

it was fun I had a good time I got but I'm really really starting to feel the need to like opt in for like uh business class you're fucking crazy because my my my legs are destroyed yeah lights man like I mentioned when I went to Cuba like it's the main thing it's like like Bart says yeah I came for the service I stay for the leg room sure yeah because look I mean if it was just a matter of like I want to be then I'd be like fuck that those are the noises of first class I'm not an asshole right but when it becomes a matter of I don't want leg pain I will pay extra money for not like pain a guy on the plane uh from Chicago Seattle taught me some uh leg tech well take take the the uh the emergency exit row if you can get it yeah he taught me some leg tech that helped me out

as if you have the aisle seat flip that seat up and just fucking turn your whole body right straight out in the aisle and just just spread your legs as wide as the fucking go just lay down in the corridor yeah and no one gives a shit who's gonna care like the steward the the fucking airflow that uh airline attendant that's gonna come by three times the whole fucking flight just make sure your dumb seat belt is belted down the seat belts on you know what it doesn't need to be belted unless there's turbulence even yeah on takeoff and we go from well of course yeah we go from putting on half belts you go from putting on seat belts to planes and then going into arcade machines where seat belts are required yeah but again we're jumping ahead when why not because

that fucking initial d machine was great and I couldn't fucking fit into it I had to hang my leg out while I was drifting and it hurt my ankle that's why it's accurate because that would be the same as getting into that car I couldn't fit in the hatchy roku that car is only built for a weird really drawn manga characters yeah with those lips oh yeah dry like you were laughing at the attack on titan artist earlier fucking initial d's art is like it's pretty jank yeah imagine like a titan is in the car it is like multi-track drifting oh that means oh specs was great packs is fantastic it's a shame it's in Seattle no but I like Seattle like all the architecture all the trees she's cake factory oh wait a minute no wait a minute oh no hold on hold on hey I know

you guys right that's exciting new world of video games first things first but and the car is about that shit here comes the cheese comes back all right fine you want to jump ahead we'll jump ahead we'll fucking this podcast is now memento yeah so friday con finishes at six like b-line to cheesecake factory across why why do you be like because your mom said it's the best ever and you were super psyched and they're like I'm a good son I believe my mom yeah exactly and when I went we went at evo in Vegas it was the shit so yeah yeah so we went and I waited for like 40 minutes you guys joined yeah and we're just like where's Liam he's in the line for the cheesecake factory I'm like oh god he wouldn't shut the fuck up about that factory so we eventually

get in and it's the fucking grandeur the place is all it's like the gallop the place is dressed to the nine let's run this this by like I was like oh I gotta go and get my phone and I got wrapped up in a whole thing so I actually missed the cheesecake factory thing but I was able to come in during the aftermath yeah yeah so so yeah from there so this is new to me so from there we ordered our drinks and appetizers at which point yeah discovered my appetizer was 1500 calories my drink was 15 I also discovered my drink was I discovered that the appetizer I had been ordered was for four people yes yeah and despite you Liam and you willy taking like two pieces each of them I still could not finish it so Matt didn't finish it either way so for those that don't know

like in Canada they rarely put the calorie counter on your food here it's the law right they put all the fucking place apparently that's the deal I don't know the American reference point is that the law is it the law to put the calories in non yes I don't know is it the law yes okay there you have the law whoa really wow thank you America thank you America so so these guys get these meals that are fucking like grand and huge and pretty and so really good really quickly what did you get what was the appetizer fried mac and cheese fried I got fried mac and cheese as well I got some of something called a buffalo thing it was chicken it was deep fried chickens yeah fucking cheese and like it was the low sauce it was basically a samosa with buffalo chicken in

the middle it was the best thing I ever ate my whole life I had a milkshake but I swear it was more like an Oreo like whipped cream so my milkshake was a spiked milkshake so we're getting to our appetizers right and we're just like I'm almost fucking full and I ordered the fucking steak yeah on top of this and we're looking it's like we've already eaten like 4 000 calories and piece of shit woolly had the audacity to eat a slice of pizza before going there because I felt like I didn't know yeah I did not know I thought I knew I thought I was fucking ready so I got bodied so that your food gets there and what happens oh my god the most delicious steak I've ever had in my life the best the best um um shepherd's pie I've ever had it to eat there was

no contest I feel like pissed off at every steak I've ever eaten in comparison and then and then like we were like if you could you get a time machine just yell at your old we were we were discussing it as it was happening but we were we were we were hashing out the the degree of regret biting yeah and then the threshold where it's ultimate regret you're like I shouldn't have done that I shouldn't have done that hold on let me put another yeah I shouldn't have done that always comes between the two to five I can do this bite and then we're sliding out rolling talking about dying but it's the cheesecake that I forgot about the bit where I still got cheesecake you did right yeah in the middle of it oh fuck you know and then like Liam's like you ready to get up and I'm

like you ready to fuck off like you know and you stand up and you're like oh we're all on the verge just vomiting on the street so we consider extremely funny but we decided not to do it probably added to the Seattle real estate value oh very nice so in parallel to this stuck in Seattle I don't like you hey man apparently apparently my hair is seahawks I don't know what that apparently everyone keeps pointing it out and I'm like yeah and they keep pointing it out in a crack voice go sports ball yeah yeah I know it's it's green and dark blue and this is purple in parallel to this you see what you want to see in parallel to this cheesecake ass explosion that you guys all did oh we're not we're not even at that yeah I know but I I got roped into going machinima

action with little people that got us to pack prime so thanks so thank you all that everybody shout outs and I got kind of roped into that hey do you want to pop into this bar and I go you know what everyone else will you pat Liam they're all going to be still in line I'm like I can pop in for a minute and just say hello because it's like two blocks away or whatever yeah and by the time I actually get back I'm like they're probably just sitting down to their meals I can come back in for the cheesecake and then I get a text from uh one I get to hear me and say I'm gonna meet you I'm gonna meet you soon and Liam's like we're at the hotel what was your text I said we're at the hotel and you said that okay come meet me here yeah and I said fuck you we're busy dumping non-stop

infinite ass and I go oh shit I missed it it's that special high caloric meal in which after eating it you're like I'm gonna shit my pants immediately so before the trip started Liam's been trying to push terraformars at me oh yeah you know and the long and the short of it is back up to the room yeah and I just at some point I grabbed the book left the room and came back and just slapped it out and it was like yo pretty good book man so I finished the book in the bathroom I come back into the hotel and as I'm coming back into the hotel I see woolly with like this this wild look at his face and I go hey this is pre bathroom woolly this is pre bathroom woolly and I go hey woolly what what uh sorry I'm so late I got rubbed in woolly just like looking at

me's like yeah yeah and woolly's sweating and like I got into a whole thing I'm like yo I got I had to go to the bar and I popped in and I met the game society pimps and as I'm talking I'm looking at woolly and I just see these beads of sweat just going over his face and I'm like something wrong is he pregnant like what happened yes he is yeah yeah he totally is and then woolly goes eventually yeah yeah okay look I went to to jeans fake cheese cake factory I have this manga I'm gonna be in here for a couple hours and I'm like holy okay and I come back in the hotel room and and Pat and Liam are in here and they're like oh god I was like was it bad like no it was the best thing ever it's just that like it's just destroying our bones super

American portions American portions god super sized by default and I didn't get anything I was able to look at food at this bar so then you guys like hey we met we saved you a piece of some of those those those and that those chicken poppers I was talking about so I like this and chicken and I go off well thanks guys you got me cold chicken in this hotel room with no microwave what a bunch of amazing employees but then I put the chicken in my mouth and I literally just go whoa it's cold little chicken poppers but they're so flavorful you said this was the best thing I've ever this is the best thing I've ever eaten and I looked outside the window and in our hotel while eating it and I go what an amazing country this is great oh packs packs packs and you have

and it was the first day that's the that was the theme of Friday but so much shit happened and we just kept going oh my god it's only Friday I was gonna say like cheesecake factory was significantly before we finished doing things yeah like we went out again after anyone that's been to a con you know the first day is the worst day because it's like all this all the stimulation where is everything it's you just get your bearings and then it's and then it's done yeah totally and in this case it was like it felt like an entire con took place you know in the first yeah and like and we know because we made uh uh shard robot guy cry oh poor brandon reminding him that it was it was that it was the first day and he looked like he was gonna

fucking cry when we came back and then pat lemur just done or whatever and then you come back and eventually you're kind of okay and then we got invited by um yeah the guy that's that make our shirt shark robot also screen with the guys that help with our website they say hey we're having a bar thing somewhere over here and the AVG N movie just screened somewhere in Seattle and they're like we have all these people coming you guys want to stop in and I know why I wanted to but I still don't understand how you had the the sheer gumption the sheer will go yes I am going to go drinking now because you know why that's important because I didn't yeah because here's why it's this is the third one I've been to now the third screenwave sort of party exactly and they're great and every

one of them has been fantastic the first one is where we went and we hung out we met James Rolfe and we had that great one the second one is where you and I and I went to that legendary night with John Tron and others and more exactly that was a good time and and this night I'm like what's going to happen this time and it turns out this was the time we'd hang out with stamper and find out first hand what's the same person like a weirdo yeah it's great stamper Takahata AVG N slam a cow exactly all those guys and and random dude that we used to work with back it's where he is because I both regret and absolutely don't regret my decision I was in a lot of severe no bodily pain yeah but you could have heard the sea viper voice I knew it was like I was sitting

like he sat down next to me and I knew I was gonna have a good fucking night when he saw my my third strike shirt pointed at it and went yo all right all right here's what we're doing you're tapping it off with nothing oh we're all done champagne over but that was a really good time everybody that was a really good time and then the guys from the screen wave like again that that work with us on the shirts and on the websites even though that we're just like they were laughing at everything that we said yeah and you don't because regularly like you know they just have a normal reaction and I asked them bros I had I'm like I had to get this out for Pat like I'm like will you ever revisit Rebecca and he looks at me 10 years ago I love it though I know I love you

Rebecca no that's like that's like someone telling us like you should revisit you know exactly I just asked him he's he should revisit a yarn game yeah yarn yarn nose well woolly world is basically woolly world yeah you can play that one I can't you can't do him can pretend to be the alternate universe genesis of oh god so Pat and I can attest us being at E3 is that you step into packs and it's like just the the same amount of showmanship and giant statues and absolute of trade show level but along with that then there's like the other floors that have all the other tiers of geek that look like cons that like their own separate con yeah the sixth floor of indie games and lots of stuff when we were at the airport and we looked at the app and we're

like okay so it's like yacht club is on the sixth floor and it's like that's more than five right you know and like it's again these actually are six floors of stuff yeah and like every one of those major showrooms on the fourth was like you think you hit the edge of it it is and then it just fucking opens up overall like I would say like a full 30 40 maybe even 50% larger than E3 yeah it is enormous like you just you turn around one random merchant and then like yeah you go through the fog gate so and then the new boss a real addition to having the same level of production and being extremely large it was trivially easy to get hands on on stuff yeah compared to E3 where we got almost nothing and that's why those videos are so much of us like jerking around in barrels and making fun

of sonic god why did I immediately think of making fun of the sonic guy that guy was sad yeah no no he was typing it he was doing it but yeah man we I think we all got a chance to get some hands on stuff we were looking forward to oh easy I got hands on on every single thing I wanted to see the show I could not fucking believe it okay for me everything save Hyrule Warriors because that's that's a good hour long why didn't you go to why didn't you go to the special Hyrule Warriors no that's again a future tidbit jump in go go okay so before we go to evil within we try to go to the Hyrule Warriors event post con at packs Hyrule Warriors line is is apparently super long it's quite enormous me and Liam were like hey Nintendo's having a separate event at a at a hotel it's not

too far and let's go and then Takahata came along and they're like yeah we'd like he played it and he was like I like Dynasty Warriors a lot I like Zelda it's it's great so we're like okay will you go with us and he's like sure so we go all the way there and on Nintendo's little car that they give you at their booth at packs it says um Hyrule Warriors special event we'll give away Link's scarf is beautiful blue scarf beautiful blue scarf one amazing hero and then they go uh it's from seven to ten and as me and then it says space is limited space is limited which we didn't think too hard about sure how limited could the place we're getting there we see all these amazing happy people that are wearing link scarf they look way better than they would have on the way in yeah and I'm

jumping up and down going we're gonna get a scarf we're gonna get a scarf both of us we're just both gonna get a scarf and we walk into the hotel and it's 840 the event ends at 10 p.m and as we get to the thing the the people that are like at the door we're like hey Liam goes we'd like to get in please and then they go yeah oh no no they're actually actually shockingly like dismissive and friendly um but anyway thanks again Seattle that'll save nintendo I poked my head in and like it doesn't seem full but when you look to the side like there's this zigzagging line and sure it's actually full sure and then I then we go we both kind of relent and go like oh well okay if we can't play the game can we get a scarf no like I was like whoa thanks Miyamoto there's none left

there's none left and and Liam was telling me it's like the european exclusive scarf when you get in the treasure box yeah meanwhile on the other side of town you guys went to you guys are lined up for the giant bomb uh panel oh playing nidhogg in line so let's talk about nidhogg so I was gonna go there for this right so we get we line up and it's like okay we got like a fucking hour and a half to kill and I just crashed for a while falling asleep in the fucking floor and then this motherfucker right behind us pulls open his i-book and is like y'all I'm playing nidhogg who's in everybody that's the amazing thing about cons with that type of the thing definitely so we played some nidhogg so this is your first time hands-on yeah I watched

the nidhogg but I haven't actually done it it's not a new game it's not it's not it wasn't it's not new it's not new how do you like nidhogg it's on my list of best things it packs it feels good and it wasn't even at pack is a godlike new type of fighting game how did nidhogg not exist 20 30 years ago well 30s pushing it man look at it though yeah look at it though oh it's 2014 oh think about that oh no 30 years ago I thought like 75 no oh nidhogg's a good yeah that game is so there is no design element or technical element that would have stopped nidhogg from existing on the super Nintendo I think there's got to be something underneath the whole the online play it's basically it's keratica levels of visual graphics wow good job with the keratica yeah it's

called it's keratica excuse me a simple circular ship you'll have to you'll have to ask the creator prince of persia of course but uh the giant bomb panel was awesome so it's really meta now that you're listening to a podcast talking about a panel about that you weren't able to see yeah and it had everything you wanted to see it had giant dangerous objects being ninja starred into the crowd and with the crowd were reflecting with oh well you're reaching out to catch it not because you want it but because you don't want to get your eyes fucking plucked out yeah um you got crazy by a you got Dave like you got Dave like in a giant bear suit breaking glasses over people's heads you guys realize that Dave Lang has a game that he's working on at packs and never showed up to his

own boo I would find out multiple times on top of major nelson I was like where's Dave and he's like I don't know so they would find out that him and gershman just skipped the whole day of packs and just drunk they were drinking the whole day drinking fancy beers oh man what the fuck is fire you gotta go listen to that that uh that fucking panel man it's great and that's choking on a champagne and then and you you had fucking a switch in music was performed yeah right at some point there was a belt theft a full-on wrestling promo heels oh yeah I heard about this and and one of my favorite thing was uh when they introduced the fucking ninja theory guys on stage to talk about their inclusion with Disney infinity for a while and ninja theories on stage and they're like yeah

you know so you might know us from our recent game DMC devil may cry or our game before that enslaved or if you go way back we made heavenly sword and Pat just like the guy's like feet away from him and Pat's like oh my god that's that's why we keep that around you can never see was it just Pat he was the only one that everyone else was cheering everyone was totally silent and we ran into people later was like it was you you can never say this man it goes against his principles man because it's like the guy that fucking made the game is right there he's like oh your shit sucks and what's weird is that you probably hate DMC more than that you do heavenly sword oh heavenly sword's really bad no but you know what I mean though like you know even I admit that like that's

why the booze ascended in quality yeah as the game's decent but I just think he has like a joke I think it's the best one frankly either way either way never back down never back down strategy at the tail end of the giant bomb uh panel was that we can't go to we didn't couldn't go to the event that would they would kind of run in the royal rumble yeah and we couldn't go because we had to do some work I actually forced Takahata to go to tell me about it so then I could be jealous of him so I asked him how was it he goes I got like they're like 10 minutes late and he's like but it was the hypest thing you could not hear anything the giant bomb royal rumble is what we're talking about where they get 30 no not the giant bomb like they run it but it's the game

industry yeah they get 30 people through from across the game industry and they all jump in and play no mercy royal rumble mode and they have intros and everything it's great dr tracksuit yeah gershmins dr tracksuit but Takahata said like you could not hear anything because the war of the crowd every time a new person was added to the room and he's like oh this guy got this reaction and whatever whatever he was like oh god I fully support turning the entire video game industry into a wrestling yeah yeah hill turns scandals etc oh man you say scandals parallel you say you say scandals a mutual friend of ours right I'm gonna be just chilling and well here's the thing is because we got back that night and like apparently the internet exploded from after the giant bomb

yeah because like the thing that was the flower that was budding last week in the form of the the conspiracy then evolved into gamergate oh and uh it's funny because hashtag hashtag gamer gate do that hashtag hashtag yeah and and it's nuts because like while we were here of course like of course things are gonna happen yeah you know and like literally direct from somebody who we know yes was a very trusted by source was here and speaking to somebody who is an editor in chief at a known publication yeah who basically not basically directly directly admitted I don't know how I'm gonna handle the fact that I kicked in thousand thousand dollars into a game I'm review that I reviewed it's a possible yeah literally I have a review reviewing I forget what it was yeah

the editor in chief minds you it's a thing that happened and it's kind of nuts that you can do the research you guys at home know what we're talking about yeah people people it won't be hard to find yeah people can and we'll do the research I trust me a lot of other things have been researched yeah and the fruits have been like I guess born yeah you know the giant bomb was making fun of this with Navarro at the fucking they were they were and you know they're they have their opinion on things because they're kind of close to the story in one way but I think as I as I mentioned on my twitter at least like my opinion on it is very simple like I said Kotaku's and it's been shit for years oh boy right oh it's weird because we defended Kotaku for so long podcast oh wait

multitude of reasons well they had like 12 kiosks they had these nice tv's alongside the whole line so you could at least watch something or you're waiting in line and the most important thing that I made it from the the capped second line to the booth in 18 minutes so I timed it today by the way from the capped end and it took me 42 oh okay so really wildly inconsistent and the reason why it was wildly inconsistent is because it depended on how good the people were in front of you or how many times you decided to cheat this this hey hey we'll get to that because here's the thing to know is that the demo that you got to play was you play till you beat it or you die once that's it um furthermore we need to explain that the booth for bloodborne was tucked away in the corner

right across from below perfect it's spirit so perfect it was tucked away it was right in the sony booth no no it was it was in the fatally in the car over there was a huge thing that said bloodborne on the ceiling behind the order and everything else you made other people that we met didn't even know bloodborne was playable cabby was talking about the fact that them and bloodborne were tucked into that corner yeah but it was nice because it created an atmosphere of this is where the moody shit is because the lights were low over there so I just know I don't think it was laced bloodborne was the beeline game once woolly and I saw that was there uh you went to smash firstly and that was your part but me and woolly walking and I'm rubbing my hands like yeah I'm gonna beat

this don't I don't care how many times I have to play this I'm gonna beat this demo we walk in woolly and I start playing damn you're simultaneously um I run into what is the equivalent of anybody plays the souls games of the uh hate night or the black night it's not quite that strong oh you thought that guy I remember I beat him with the axe he's he's quite but he's tough and I got fucking murdered less than less than five minutes yeah well basically like like three or four minutes into my run pat comes over goes hey how's it going and I'm still playing and I'm like what happened it's like I had found some shit that beat my ass you went on the you went on the the the the the beat pat yeah and you break through the I played the game the way I play souls games when I explore

everything in a grid and I got me fucking murdered and I stole my demo time uh yeah I made my way through most of the demo and like the fucking oh my god you don't like I'm like okay what about defense right no don't defend what defend did you drop your shield that you know that does not have a shield oh my god you don't need shields anymore ever because the mate the guy you have is so fast so what is it that if you hold the dodge button down longer you like roll even no no so what it is is if you're locked onto a guy you press the roll the roll button you dash no if you're if you're locked on you just yeah you dash around him very quickly if you do it right before he swings at you you fucking go longer so you go closer to his back so the the closer his hit is to you the farther

around 180 degrees when that when that was described to me it like me I'm described to me before remind me of like when link does the parry and win wake yes yes yes yeah yeah right and if you're not locked on you press the button and you just roll you get a good good good good the speed at which you can do all of these things in succession is not way faster so much mobility even souls is now a slow piece of garbage by comparison which is 10 on 10 it's speed I just you're not you're not prepared to get sucked into Bloodborne's room what was happening to me it was dashing so far that I was going into enemies that I didn't think I wanted you're going to yeah exactly so uh my demo was I you know I went around through the main area avoided the mob burning the bodies I made sure to

point out that horrible Cthulhu monstrosity we're hanging off the gate yeah uh took out the guy holding the brick went up the ladder found the werewolves died at the werewolves yeah werewolves yeah yeah you know and then the main boss is right beyond right beyond it right you went back in so I went back so I'm gonna like I was back for a second I was a point on Saturdays I I there I plenty of time left I'm I don't give a shit I'm gonna beat this fucking Bloodborne I'm gonna lap the line I don't care so I get in did you did you play the heavier than I played I played the regular okay because the cleaver guy because the demo lets you choose between two builds yeah I played the heavy one okay one is equipped with shotgun and cleaver yeah others equipped

with ax and pistol yeah so I went with cleaver and I did I got up to the crowd was just quite early died again looked around nobody noticed so hit start hit start again so this is what you meant by like you're cheating the system hit start again got in looked around as I you know the game was on looked around nobody knows from then from that point on your golden yeah because they'll never know yeah that you went back to the start that you more or less booked it to where you were no I decided I'm I'm too hyped up on goofballs right now I need to calm my fucking shit down so I leaned it out I circled around I did blame backs that like just be blame got all the way to the end of the demo got all the way to the end fucking great demo like those crows look harmless but

they're bad asses don't touch the cross but but we have to point out major frame rate dropping oh yeah major unstable frame rate it goes from like 17 to 30 constantly and it's called cinematic it ain't done it's called it's called it's not out for another six months um got to the boss I'm like yeah I recognize the area from the boss from the trailer they put out yeah I hear the scream yeah I hear the big crash there's no boss in front of me because the boss is glitched out and it's completely invisible and the boss is not supposed I told the story to several people and they're like oh the boss is supposed to be invisible no the boss is broken you get what you deserve it's the first coming the boss fight you can see in the trailer thank god that boss is toned down or else

it would have been it would have been over right from soft had their revenge so I was able to find out how some of the mechanics work in this invisible boss fight because what the fuck else am I gonna do yeah when you see the bosses when you see the target lock icon here up shoot that gun yeah boss can fall on his knees and you get a huge counter attack yeah when the target the target icon does what because the target icon locked to its chest right yeah so when the target icon went like three feet higher in the air I could tell that he's doing a huge one right so with proper visuals this would probably be a lot easier yeah shoot him with your gun interesting he'll fall on the ground and his head's gonna be on the floor and then you like a repost and that's gonna be the big black

knight yeah overhead swing and shot him in the gut yeah because you find out that like there's zero start up to the gun no the moment they start left winding up yeah instantaneous I wasted a couple bullets just testing it yeah beat it's so happy got this I got a picture with me the holding the fucking you look really cool yeah I know you did and like I don't want this but I need it for proof because no one will believe me that I beat this demo did they make you take it they made you but you got a shirt because I asked is the shirt the proof or is the picture the proof and they're like it's the picture it's like you fuck it I'll take doesn't mean anything I'll take the picture from my no one's gonna remember this in two years I'm gonna remember it so this well that's what

all the matter yeah what a fucking it makes me like I was really really excited yeah this has like aside from the technical issues they will they will clear up it is it is the total validation of all my hopes yeah and I just I want to say real quick for anyone who's like saying oh but the demo is like super easy and no it's not no it's not it was made easier but it is still fucking it's still really hard and that's because this is a later but but it's it's in a different way than dark souls like it's it's hard for a different reason it's you know what it is you know what it is it's semi hyper it's both it's not hyper that's why I'm more interested it's similar reasons like dudes crowd you take lots of damage you make mistakes and you get you pay for them well there's

an area you can potentially fight like 10 guys yeah but like the speed makes a way more market difference than I was even expecting and there's a thing I remember like like we came out after talking about it you forgot about the counterattack gun I completely forgot and I forgot about the open up your weapon mode yeah so it's a lot of good stuff so how much does your string change up when you incorporate that when you so you'll you'll do the short swing then you'll hit l1 and you'll tag like three guys that are closing in you know how your swing is three swings yes you can go like swing swing swing switch swings like you can get more and you can do all that in your stamina I don't know how far you can go but yeah with the with the flavor you could do swing swing swing

switch switch swing swing if you wanted okay and that was bloodborne um and then you know so and then here's the thing we did we did our um our machinima booth recordings and stuff I was going to say I would you know I would say that the most like underrated like under the radar sort of thing and the big hit of pack so you know from our perspective for us from our perspective this was probably bloodborne but like I mean like in the grander scale it just seemed like everyone was about smash yeah this actually segs right I have my list goes bloodborne and smash oh I wasn't going to go there but let's take it I just mean that like you see the towels everywhere everyone if you play if you play a smash on the 3ds you get win the black no you

don't have to win no if you just play it on 3ds you get the black you get these great like trainer towel the little mack towel out of the red ones though okay yeah and if you won the 3ds make sure they're red one if you won the Wii U competitive match that you had to get a much longer line for you and get the red one that wasn't Wii U it was 3ds well it fucked me then well we all did we all play Wii U and 3ds yes I just played Wii U with Liam okay and like I had two matches and I took little mack and little mack is great and that's all I kind of care about how unbelievably fun his little Mac to play Liam went nuts when a guy that we're watching I went one with little Mac and then uh the coach comes in yeah there's the wind post to do I went more

woof woof woof woof you know the the the rolling fun so hey everyone will they like people that punch people really hard right and so when I finally got the full charged little Mac knockout on Pat's Mega Man and the girl that's like working the booth goes oh you don't see that very often I was like yeah it was great um smash is fine man um the 3ds version my my worries about the speed are gone like yeah I don't know what people were saying when they said we'll leave you no better than me it has to be exactly slower as a casual scrub I as a casual scrub I thought it felt better than brawl yes it's dude's weasley um it's way better than brawl and as a casual scrub I felt that the 3ds version while fine as far as the game goes the the controls it's just the controller we're a

little bit hard to get the 3ds is not a gamecube controller so uh we me and woolly actually had a little interesting talk with someone earlier where we talked about what our favorite and least favorite games of show were a rather favorite and most disappointing yeah my favorite was bayonetta 2 yeah my most disappointing was smash for 3ds because while I love the core game uh there are little things that you could do with a gamecube controller that you just can't do yeah exactly I mean you almost came to blows over this despite us eventually having the same opinion yes it's just I don't know how to even say it's just something missing you said something about the character size and stuff but I don't have any problem with that but the the controls are

just not perfectly ideal and there's some cool stuff you can do in brawl where you can like if you dash and then hold the c stick in a direction and then yeah zed you'll slide and do the smash a little bit while doing yes that's a technique you just can't really do because of the control you know you can I did it but it's it's significantly harder it's not feasible well because because you have to you have to do a smash without stopping your dash animation to get the little slide at the end of it um and so you have to not stop dashing but you have to smash in a different direction you know it's extremely tricky the resting state of your hand on a gamecube controller is that of your hands on the a button the immaculate game design and the top or side of your thumb is touching

jump yeah right and when you're playing it on the 3ds version it's not quite as you have to pick up and hit the jump button just that little change it's very slight it affects your game a little bit that being said I do think like some of this is a side effect of us using gamecube controllers for over 10 years that's what I was gonna say that you're taking a game that has been almost exclusively played on one controller for 10 years and you're putting it on a handheld it's gonna be a rough exactly yeah but I do think the handheld version is really good you know it was my biggest disappointment it's really good it's it's how it's my biggest disappointment because it's very good my expectations pegged it like just below the Wii U version right but it's it's not quite even that it's it's really

good it's how I felt about like Street Fighter 3 for 3ds right sure yeah where you're like the game is of course the same game but these controls are rough not the same um that okay so with that being said my most disappointing thing and I want to get you guys as well yeah my most disappointing thing is gonna I told Liam earlier the most disappointing thing you played at PAX this weekend can I preface your thing yeah I played your most disappointing game I felt kind of disappointed by it and I didn't say anything to you because I didn't want to bias you and then you went and played it yeah um so here's what's up man here's what's up sunset overdrive not that special yeah that's that's weird I don't want to sound like a prick but like that's what I've been saying the whole

time I waited in line uh it took about 45 minutes I went in I did the match it's easy to say that but if it turned out good then you wouldn't be able to say you know what I mean if it turned out good I would have been happy to be one and here's what's up the art style is great it's still got that going for it but the actual gameplay you're moving you're jumping you're sliding and it just you're like yeah does it feel like ratchet that was the truth it's okay I said it feels like ratchet and nothing not even clank just like you know and it's and here's and it's not bad yeah it's just uh it's not remarkable here's the reason why sunset overdrive is actually special because at least it looks like a different style yes and the style it sucks that you feel that the gameplay is like kind of yeah

it's there but whatever because the style is still still there still strong and it's kind of going all right at the very fucking least it's like by this game because on box art for crisis for that can I just buy the box right now that being said still gonna buy it because yeah I didn't get a chance to go in hands on with it yeah it's like no it's not disappointing it's okay that's not true that's not what I mean it's not a bad game at all it's just a normal shooter where I was hoping for like something that's I don't want to get any like console warrior shit here but that's something that you will like Titanfall like Titanfall is fine well but well it didn't blow the world up it certainly I was told it was it certainly didn't but I would defend

Titanfall more mainly because of just I had way more fun playing it I will honestly say that's on the fault of marketing yeah no and that's what I'm talking about it's like guess what people keep taking these these games that are totally fine and building them up like the second coming and it's like you are hurting yourself I mean Titanfall is on a whole different scale but likewise something like the order which I was really interested in and then every time I saw a gameplay video I was like wow that looks like you press a button and shots are fired and that's fucking it I didn't go play it but Liam did I played it and actually the demo was really really short but um the the main gun you have is probably like 30% of the game it's no but the the main gun you have is actually

really like fun and kind of interesting so the main fire for it is you fire thermite yeah I know that's awesome yeah it doesn't damage the enemies but they just like they start coughing a little bit and it doesn't do anything until you fire the flame and you ignite the thermite in the air and you just burn the enemies like they're not even shooting them you're just burning them with the air that's fantastic um and like the transitions between uh cutscene and gameplay are like so like so seamless and I talked about it with Pat a little while ago and they're way more seamless than any other game I have no doubt it's probably gonna be like Metal Gear Solid 4 where it's like that one game better than that you know I don't mean like as good as I mean okay that game that comes out

you're like oh yeah people should rip this off the relative level of ripoffery material is high people should rip off this camera trick right now the concept of that gun is applicable in a lot of places that'd be great fun yeah um really enjoyable what was what did you have high hopes for and what were you let down by oh I nothing nothing everything I will instead go high hopes right go for something I was actively ready to be disappointed by well that comes next so because I know if you have anything there was not a single thing that I played that I was disappointed was there anything you took a look at that was like you didn't you were like yeah yeah yeah and then you saw you're like I guess it's kind of unfortunately like not that again it's

bad it's just I didn't act out of all of us I played the least because I did have some you were doing business I did have some obligations and I'm like I don't know I was just feeling tired overall but I guess the only thing is let the evil within I think it's still one of those things that because it's a demo because you're dropped into chapter nine they drop you in way late yeah they drop you in way late and they they like me Liam played it okay yeah I'm changing answer I'm agreeing with that it's still good it's really really good we're gonna play it and whatever but it's just like the pedigree of it and just the general everything we've heard about it it's just hard to get over it like Liam said it like I think you would agree that the the aiming

first of all in that game which is big squirreling pivotal thing is a little squirrely and also the melee of that game put me in a bad situation where I felt it was I don't know about the melee being squirrely I think the melee not the melee sorry the the aiming means really I think it it feels like very very similar to a more intense version of RE4s and like the wobble on the game precision and and if there we have not played a game like that it's so long where every single character in a third-person game has the rock solid like biceps to shoot perfectly straight every time I mean Leon doesn't yeah well no that's what I mean Leon's last person that I can think of no but Sebastian's even more yes he's what's what's your reticle like

uh it's a dog with four dots it's a dot and then if you have the shotgun it turns into that giant like it's just it shoots at the point okay it just he's always a bit wobbly all right um I thought the game yeah the games really goes a slower pace than RE4 um I really like just going through like the mansion just just going through a mansion and doing horror stuff and it's like this it reminds me it makes me feel like there are ideas and and things in this game I'm excited to play that were from RE4 hook man version yeah I especially is the fact that there's a blue hook man that chases you around it is invincible yeah it also like it makes me a little disappointed because it really makes me think that it's it's Shinji Mikami saying hey let me do a greatest

hits of everything I've done in the last for a while because like the hook man throwing a burning body is like crimson heads and RE4 remake yeah it feels like he is taking a lot of things of his games that he's done previously and just saying I want to get paid shout out to the paul marketing over at evil within for playing the worst fucking the worst handout at first it seemed like the best but then we noticed it was the worst they were handing out the box had box of to put on the safe on his head they got they handed out a cardboard box you put on your own head which a bunch of people were like and you walk around the convention center with a cardboard box attached to your head and then at the end of day one the streets were littered litter box and I want to point out that

I'm still yeah certainly certainly I think our most disappointings are still all like lots of games you want to fucking play man yeah exactly I think also graphically that game is really weird yeah it's just things that look great and there's things that don't look great because it's a Japanese game you say something American I said last night so last night I was really impressed because it's the second Japanese game that I look at the Japanese AAA game that I look at and it really blurs the lines between east and west and this goes the other way too where I don't think American games or European games blur the lines between east and west either and the two games that I think really blur those lines are a knack and evil within where you look at them and you

you could easily say these are made by western companies and it's only the real subtleties when you really get down to it that that are different like that are Japanese uh like Sebastian's melee he does that over the shoulder punch you know that yeah yeah Japanese things yeah the dark companies all right like there's just little things like that that take you tip you off but otherwise you would think it's a western game it was really impressive in that regard because it's hard to make something so culturally different yeah and and have it feel authentic to people who come from that and that's probably a good thing yeah oh it is a good thing I'm really impressed I trust Mikami uh as far as stuff that goes uh from zero to a hundred with I I think we all

a game that's like this was not on the radar and we walked out like this is beeping hard right now from straight zero to a hundred we went over I think it's all the same game again yeah again this is only made possible because machinima thanks for the machinima hookup yeah able to some cool guys were like hey you want to do this I don't think we would have sat down to play another no we wouldn't have because it was one of the most bombastic booths and had packs so we get we want we got it we got into the back to play um the Borderlands pre-sequel and we're like hey this is pretty solid that was all right double jumping and moon physics actually are really good claptrap plays really interesting hey if you like Borderlands and you want more Borderlands

you'll enjoy it so if you want if you want Borderlands yeah you'll get more we got like over to the Evolve section and we sat down with Game Society Pimps and the four of us played against them now let's let's get some backup everyone should know this by far but well you're no big fan of first person shooters certainly I'm not man you're no big fan I'm no big fan of multiplayer yeah okay believe me we've dabbled I played a lot we've dabbled but I don't like multiplayer that much so I'm the only one that would fit this game I guess yeah right I played one game of left left for dead two with you and I immediately just like that because it's bad because it's not for me Titanfall was me dabbling my feet in the water yeah that being said I was interested because I have a

bit of history yeah we sat down and played this shit what a fucking good game it should be noted they're like this is a beta it's not after all 2015 this feels fun this map is not going to change you know what it felt so final that the only thing that changes is the percentages on perks and things yeah right because there was clearly the numbers that was all that's left yeah no but we went in um and I'm sure you guys are seeing the footage now but you know we all played different classes and then someone from the Game Society Pimps side played the monster yeah and it just immediately the movement the double jumping oh you're fast it's great everything's fluid you're tracking it you're talking to each other it feels like it feels like different multiplayer

right remember when Assassin's Creed first had his multiplayer you're like wow this is different and then you play this and I immediately thought wow this is different so uh because um it's it's a concept it's the core concept is like remember those tank fights in left for dead yeah remember how they were the best bits remember how they were the best bits whatever the whole fucking game around that right and so we're all playing our different classes and the synergies really good it's really great when you get it going you know and you're tracking it you lock the monster in the class abilities are so varied yeah like the trappers fucking trap that works the monster is nuts that well that the fight doesn't really start until you trap him even yeah you know when I first saw

footage of evolve and and whatever and I was like oh okay I understand this concept and I understood from the the the humans side of it perspective yeah perspective but it's the monster when even when we were fighting the monster I still didn't like I didn't know what the monster was actually doing I just knew that we were trying to hunt it yeah it was the only one woolly was woolly size and I was watching woolly I was like whoa that's different it's the the humans are bugs yeah and they are tiny bugs and so you have this whole thing going on where um you know while on your own the human side you're tracking the monsters one fault I got to point out one fault I got to point out the way we died sucked yeah the way we didn't know on what side we got like oh

yes yes so we lost the fight um we got eaten by uh piranha plants basically and not there yeah probably people have to break you out yeah and it's just like there's a timer right here and they were in the middle of fighting the beast and they didn't know that that was happening and then we just lost yeah well that'll go away with anything that goes away with with like five the moment you learned it like yeah I guess so well it's not even really a complaint it's no surprise that's it we lost it was falling into a pit so yeah exactly we just got exposed live and whereas on the monster side of things yeah whereas playing at you guys were watching yeah like the whole time you're going through it as a human uh you're killing these random uh creatures dangerous wildlife dangerous

wildlife around the area to get temporary bugs temporary birds but as a monster you can then go up to the bodies they've killed and eat them to help you evolve yeah you know and so as the monster oh my god it was just fun to hide and evolve and grow get your powers up and you know they're around you you know they're coming your movement is obscene yeah and you're sniffing you know where they are and you get the fuck out of there until you're leveled up you're kind of biting your time whether you decide whether okay now I'm ready now I'm going to find you're attacking some dangerous shit this is a good time or I can ambush that one guy that broke off to find me yeah and and unfortunately you got really close to defeating game society but then like two it was it was a

fucking clutch match it was it was a perfect exemplary battle of like how fun it could get for us the thing that I took away from it the most and this is maybe a really granular detail that most people don't care about I love that you have your gun your support gun and your ability and that's fucking it there are so many games yeah there are so many games that give you so many fucking guns and abilities to do that everyone plays like shit everyone plays like garbage nobody knows how to play their class I was gonna say I like that you pick one perk yeah you pick one I'm the medic right I shoot it with a sniper rifle and you guys do more damage to it I can slow it down and mark it on the map of the track or I can heal you and that's it and those are the

only things I have to do and they're the only things I have to learn and it's kind of a star contrast that even though it's fine it's on universe when we're playing borderlands there's three sets of skills and perks that you have to go through and that's fine because that's the way the game works but then going into evolve it's like it's it's it's so immediate like it's surprisingly clean there's no I feel like there was fluff I didn't like once the once the guys would explain most of our mechanics I was like okay I know how to just do this and like this was really clearly being pushed at esports so that makes a lot of sense yeah yeah also just visually great oh yeah well we were playing it on beast pcs who knows what these will look like when they

come into the console or how it'll be able to run on a regular human pc uh I think it'll still look fucking great yeah it's a fairly simple game all things considered so they just do really good with the foliage and stuff like that and we only saw one map I'd love to see what the others are like there's gonna be an industrial map that looks like aliens I don't know this I'm just saying this yeah yeah yeah I'm waiting for the aliens crossover yeah it's the most obvious fucking thing and so and so we did that we did those games together and then we kind of split up hard to to cover different ground and whatnot um what's next for you with for me bao okay yeah well bao well fucking bayonetta 2 was just the best thing that happened this is the best thing I show no

these guys played on what sat friday friday I played it today okay I played it right I have now completed all preview versions of banana that exists yeah man oh man that one new feature they threw in umbran climax what if I I talked about this fun like a year and a half ago and now that I touched it you're oh it's the best possible new feature you could throw in it's just fun like you're just like every move I do is wicked weave mode yeah it's so fun and your wicked weave is now the whole monster yeah oh god I had something that changed since e3 uh for sure is they have changed the control scheme slightly so that switching your weapon set is no longer the left trigger now left trigger is lock on yeah which improves that game a lot yeah definitely right

trigger is switch yeah because you're not slamming right right bar sorry right bumper right because you're not switching weapons all the time what's more important is you can lock on yeah I was also surprisingly comfortable with playing on the game pad I thought I was gonna have a big problem with it and I didn't no it was totally fine I really enjoyed it uh you know if anyone's gonna make sure that that shit works fine and that it's not obtrusive is platinum right that will not stop me from playing it on a classic controller oh yeah but it's nice to know if your classic controller is dead you would pick up the game nice to know it's not a problem oh that was I had the pleasure of talking with a guy from a guy from Nintendo who had played it a bunch because he works there

yeah there's some treehouse guys doing that and like he he ran through all the launchers and everything with me and it was just a good talk and we had a lot of fun just talking about bayonetta yeah I got I got the lady that was not too familiar with right no I had the guy I think Liam's talking about and then I got an old guy who worked who worked there yeah um yeah and and unfortunately no no unite tombstone but whatever that move was so good because you could launch launch tombstone yeah that would have been solid if you could drop dad before they fell I do that was looking for it and I absolutely the other thing that not too long after evolved the after evolved and uh borderlands that we got to play is that I just thought you know what it's weird that

Mortal Kombat X is isn't here well it didn't seem like it was but then when I googled on my phone I was like is Mortal Kombat X at PAX Prime and apparently it was and one of the really helpful machinima guys I said hey do you know Mortal Kombat X is there and he was able to then so I give you two seconds find the secret Mortal Kombat X room the back room the back room in a different hotel and we got to play like it was like one of the spur of the moment things where it's like this thing is not here we cannot play it we can get you it for 20 minutes we can get you for 20 minutes and we got to play some uh pretty fun matches there breaking fucking news what he cares about Mortal Kombat I'll break double breaking news Pat cares about it's not breaking but I love it

it's Mortal Kombat X is great and I was I was talking to one of the producers and I'm like why does this feel so much faster and better and he's like I don't know everyone keeps saying that I know for a fact that the hit timings are similar to MK9 but it just feels yeah we just sat down and it's just like look man they I'm like you guys clearly took all the lessons you learned from injustice and implemented them here and he's like yeah we did so me Lee and Liam start to sit down to play yeah and we're like all right let's just check the move let's go press start to pause moves are there right there on the pause screen just there on the pause screen and back to the line those go like yes yeah also Liam dropped a little tidbit on him about the skull girls hold

pause to start thing and he's like oh that's pretty good I'll let them know so if that gets into the final we know who's who did it that's on us it's I really hope I really hope that uh so I looked at it from just the trailers and said you know what Kotal Khan that's where I'm going yeah touch them he's cool I'm way in I'm way in he's fun I forget the name of the character I was playing it's the one with the the big guy faratore faratore what a fucking cool design yeah everything about the way that character attacks and like the characters projectiles just throwing a little girl remember that animation that after you win around as that character you remember what it was yeah the big guy takes uh uh Farah and holds her by the hand and pulls her back to their side

style big daddy and little and the and the sister man no and devora like all the new characters are so good so I may have been more blunt than I should have with the producer we were talking to him like hey man so yeah yeah you so I played all the ps2 games and like those characters that you guys made they were fucking trash though and he's like yeah all right and like why are these ones so good he's like I don't know man we did like 300 sketches for every single one of these what he told me when I asked the same thing was he said we threw out so many good ones yeah like you wanted to make sure that you didn't have the same thing happen yeah I mean that Lee made and here's what stuff is like I'm not even talking about cosmetics because we know that MK has always had fatalities

x-rays all that cool shit it's all it it's all there it looks great the backgrounds are great but the gameplay the most important part and the part that has kept me away from MK for years is totally solid it feels way better am I right about the animations being stiff they look so much they definitely look better I don't think they're like a hundred percent to like something like Street Fighter 4 yeah they're definitely improving and the other thing is that when I was talking to Mishima guy that also got to play Mortal Kombat X and we both like like almost synchronized said Raiden's x-ray yeah they clearly use the justice attack and Raiden hits you into the sky and then brings you down and like like does a backbreaker that was the most brutal x-ray really

classy very as well yeah sorry the really classy hug the inclusion of the 16 by 9 bars that come in yeah not 16 rather um uh letterboxing yeah the letterbox yeah yeah yeah so when you go into a match it letterboxes it and it looks really nice and it zooms in on one character's intro and then it goes down to their waist height and rotates to the second character intro and the depth of field switches and you see the other guy and they do a different intro for being player too and they are and they are dynamic heroes for characters that know each other as well which is my favorite thing in fighting games they managed to make it way more cinematic in a really good way that doesn't sacrifice the gameplay or time or the time characters that don't have a thing like

let's say scorpion some zero but if there's like devour versus cano have a specific intro just for them even though they're not like it feels like they're 20 years of history and also if anyone seen the the cano trailer that dropped uh like a few weeks ago we were able to do the full fatality in this version that you can't see online and you only see the end of it which is cano appears behind someone's head and uses his eye laser to like melt a hole but before that what you don't see is that cano takes one of his uh cano australian like criminal knives and cuts into someone's guts and then the camera is below under the whole intestinal flaw all the intestines just flop around like like full the full entrail drop physically producer man was like yeah we modeled so much of

the interior bodies like we got guys mark and guts all over the casty cages thing where you see or punch the guy's balls up his body and in Mortal Kombat 9 it was like a sexless area like you don't just see that the person getting hit but there's no testicular explosion the testicular hitler chicken that blitz the league tech that's uh all super elite tech yeah super elite tech as well um that was really fun to play what was really cool was like throughout the entire weekend every once in a while when nothing was going on just matt and i silently silently would with unbeknownst to each other just find ourselves back at the fucking ki booth just i get in line not making a plan that would turn slightly to the right and i'm just sitting there not knowing

woolly was going to be at the food and we just play fucking tj combo i played like two rounds with tj combo he's really cool you told me about tj combo tell me again i love tj combo tj combo is fucking amazing and terrifying because he represents something that fighting games have never seen he is the boxer grappler yeah we were just talking about how much boxes are great he has a command grab that you can combo out of so he's the code the command you combo out of he's got the ballerog rush punches he's got the mix-ups and the fakes and then he's got the the move that starts as an aerial grab lands as an overhead yeah and if you're not anywhere near it it knocks you down a little bit of a range of fact full screen knocked down yeah so it's the

drop out of the uh the um urian headbutt it's just it's just and then like his tiger knee covers so much distance yeah but it's not like like like super powerful it's just like a really good tool like if he's an indication of what uh iron galaxy the type of characters and keats and dave lang like god bless his soul since he apparently like was not there he's dead now apparently uh by the way i looked at while we're talking alex navarro won again oh but he lost the belt due to a run-in somehow i and it's online we have to watch it later but apparently he won the wrong rumble but a run-in occurred and then a beatdown happened and he lost his belt that's great that's sick he can combo is really fun i can't play any other character about him

i wasn't paying too much attention to it because like to be honest i won both the rounds but when i was watching justin wong play later yeah he was playing tj combo right and there was a thing where when tj combo lost the round he got up and he hit the ground and it knocked the character back before the round started his instinct if you do not use his instinct but in the end of the match he he uses it like gill's resurrection yeah so he pounds the ground and gets powered up like like gill or the game's dark stalker style so you can walk around exactly yeah but he knocks you back before the round and starts and that's using his instinct to do that no it's not it's not using his instinct okay that's amazing because i asked the two of the guys that were there i'm like how

does his instinct work and they were they just said don't use it they just said don't use it till the end you know okay but i don't really get that know what what they meant is like don't use it at all all shit you know if you want a second win yeah like that's awesome but you can feel though his weakness very plainly which is he's got no clean antears yeah so you can he's like cody in that you get caught up you get caught up in his pace dead but if you run a train on him he's got nothing dude how amazing is this windup punch yeah that looks great so satisfying um me and so that was something that happened like three or four times throughout the weekend that chaos season two can't wait for that shit yeah uh good job lang ruin dive king now someone came over to us pat and it was

like hey you guys play guilty gear eggzard yet that person was Liam that was me okay i forgot i didn't remember so hard because we just ran i remember that we basically found a single guilty gear eggzard uh kiosk surrounded by an enormous group of dudes after you guys played it i was like right guilty gear and i go back and this is the only like game in that little sony area that's a particular sony area that had more than a couple of people like they're always people but i'm watching them play and again i think i've talked about this before my only beef was a game is for whatever reason for whatever reason soul bad guys are my favorite characters not as good as chip but no you're right when i see a soul bad guy it's only him or his animation style or whatever he just looks kind of

puffy and weird and it just throws me off described this before i just throw it and i don't none of you get it we don't get it so i get it you mean the eggzard version it just the exact he's been beefed up a little bit he just looks a little weird it's the same thing people were feeling when they say when they were like why is really on steroids yes yeah yeah everyone else looks fine it's just soul bad guy looks kind of weird but i didn't get a chance to play because there was a like yeah well we knew that was some serious shit when we got there and like there was the tournament players there and then they're the guy that the sony employee that was next to it looks at me and goes hey hell pockets and i was like no but that happens every time at tournaments because i look

like the kof announcer guy that you know and we like i have him on facebook and whatnot and so i'm just like okay this corner knows what's up dude all the guys at the sony booth were super legit they all knew like i got worked real hard i don't real work oh yeah yeah yeah yeah and like and we so we played our matches um i was like i didn't think about it because at the whole time i'm just holding on for hope for biking to be in the game right not announced so what i'm doing we're in a post no bike in world yeah and i'm staring at the character selects me going fuck i didn't plan this out yeah i'm playing as deep it's all or kai kai because kai was the other guy i wanted to play and like beautiful just everything's gorgeous isn't it it feels and plays like guilty gear but just a

million times more beautiful yeah i don't know you know i mean nothing else to say it is it's gorgeous he's got a million when you do hodlkin dust and then all your fireballs become amazing i don't know it sounds like you're gonna cry it's it's just it's so well you know because i was basically like okay what's gonna be my system seller for ps4 um i'm waiting for the last guardian and then you know and then it's like uh guilty gear eggzard might do it after i'm walking away and then Liam was like by the way you can cross play ps3 and ps4 and i was like well fuck well i was gonna say if you're gonna get one for bloodborne you may as well just get one for guilty yeah and play it it's like ps4 is not gonna drop in price until the demand i get that

something that me and leah might forget about is that you know the one of the most number one things you saw at the show was people wearing gigantic sonic boom bags yeah oh yeah thank you for paying the sonium crap sonic shit all right you mean every sonic anyway but hang on because maddox doesn't say hang on wait a minute wait a minute uh is that leah played sonic boom on the we you and you're like it's it's all right it's all right i played it again today it's it's still all right it's like it's good but it's nothing special but me and leah also at the same time like both of us side play the 3ds version and that was actually quite different we were really surprised i stood in line for the we you version saw that it looked like every other sonic game from the last couple

of years and walked away it's like it's pretty good it's pretty fun but the what do we know but what's happening with the 3ds one the 3ds one is is good it's just legit good it's it's by it's a 2d platformer it's by senzaru recently made sly 4 okay um it's not sonic fast but switching between the four characters and navigating the open 2d worlds explain this because i had a hard time understanding mega man zero each level is a big not not quite as a world map like super mario bros 3 say and each level is a big open 2d world with a bunch of stuff to do yeah and there are various obstacles and stuff that can only be traversed with one of the four characters so you can switch on the fly so if ever you want to go in a different direction whatever and you get

to the end of the level that does sound like mega man zero actually a little bit and you get to the end of the level you just forge forward in whatever direction to hit an end and see what you find right um as opposed to like there's these checkpoints all around that bring you back to older places and there's these big fun open worlds and like like that was talking about i really like the platform mechanics sonic has an air dash and you like air dash times in the air and i need to bring angles character action to air dash where you just press x up x left right down and just dashes like do you pick a true up b uh yeah but more than twice exactly yeah okay and and you press x each time as opposed to the up b which gets you to unless you only go under after a little while

you're doing you're doing the regular homing attack then you're doing like the the laser grapple and swinging and then doing the the air like hold dashes to another laser grapple to more like quick speed attacks you know like it just felt good like those guys i mean they made slide four which was a totally solid game and i mean look they're doing it again it's also i really expected it to be a bad game and i was not interested at all this is a weird thing but me and lian both noticed that the sonic boom booth was actually very cute it was because it had that whole chalkboard it was like a chalkboard that showed the other sonic all the sonic characters writing their notes about how to defeat everyone yeah there's all these cute little notes and little

things and i was just like it's just a good booth second had a really good booth like the smash brother's booth was nothing it was just like smash brothers it was just crammed people all the people the um the the nintendo employees were wearing um uh doc luis trainer trainer jackets yeah so you do right next to sonic boom was the captain toad booths where captain toad yeah captain toad looks like the shit i went in line and i was like well this is the same demos we saw so i didn't i didn't play it i opted not to play it because i've already played 3d but we're gonna enjoy it when it happens right i love you captain only 40 bucks or something too on top of this all stomach that and then the one thing we did of course was like we got our hands

on a bunch of indies because there's no lineup for those so okay okay talk about salt and sacrifice before i do that i want to get remember that of course but i want to get the big ones out of the way uh the last thing i did at the day before playing that in k i because we got that line from below uh no oh no no no for me oh for you for me wait a minute the last word last thing i did with my day today uh was get in line for fucking super hot oculus super hot super hot so did you know about super hot part of this i knew about super hot part of this did you know about super hot yes i did super hot that's the best form cast that's the fucking oh it's so fucking so you fucking play this on the oculus and it's so nuts because it does you feel like you're cheating

because you can you move and you do the thing where super hot is like the mechanics are when you move time moves and if you don't move time doesn't move for shit therefore avoid the bullets get the gun kill your enemies yeah exactly and you're playing it on the oculus so that when the bullets are coming at you you stop move your head out of the way of the bullet and then just keep moving and like it gets you're doing head slips on bullets i'm i was literally super i was doing a demsy roll down a hallway getting the gun and shooting the dudes and i was like this is awesome also oculus of course hype great look around i was your motion sickness for it's perfect then i'm gonna be fine all right i was i was totally don't don't say yourself up just in case um i had a weird thing

i think i had a weird thing maybe it's just because my dreads kind of puff the thing tight on my face we had that issue but what happened was like some of the the the peripheral vision on the outskirts was too blurry okay but it was too i think it's because it's pushing too close to my face but the but super hot was great the oculus is great well it's still it's still the old dev kits too i'm pretty sure well actually i don't know which ones they were done i don't know what they were done actually i don't know anything you get your hands on is always the old dev okay well because there's always some new bullshit prototype they got cooking in the but i mean the 720 ones is what i mean oh those seven exactly these could have been the new one i don't know i don't know who

knows but yeah man so we we played some indie games man and that what a great indie section to begin with yeah the sixth floor which is almost all indie stuff and vendor stuff was just a fantastic yep they had a good section of but there was a bunch of indies in the main room as well and like you could just like just walk around and just grab a controller it was fantastic there was one game that got announced on thursday and when i got there on friday i stared at it by scott studio salt and sacrifice salt and the line was a bit too long on uh on friday so i just didn't play it i just watched the guy play it for a while so these are the guys that made a game my main game was zombies in it and the dishwasher oh yeah yeah yeah all right also charlie anarchy

whatever yeah um which i was charlie murder but charlie murder that's it yeah so here's what they decided to do they said we're gonna take the the dishwasher and we're gonna put we're gonna make it souls into it and they're not and it's not even similar to souls it is souls okay and they don't care they are being blatant about it that's why it's so good and guess what it's fantastic willy what are your weapons in the game you have a bow and arrow you have a sword and a shield a sword and board of course you do and a whip and a torch i didn't uh my the guy the character i was playing didn't have okay the guy i was watching it i didn't have those sick but yeah you light a torch whatever so you're just going in imagine dark souls in 2d and like to the point where the controls didn't

indicate it but i happened to press forward and ball and shield and he did a fucking parry animation so it's like yeah they don't care and that's great yeah man so every enemy can wreck your shape you've got a stamina bar you go in it was it was just fine and then what makes you roll and and so you go up and uh i it seemed like when i was watching everyone go through it no one could fucking make it no everyone's just dying dying dying that's usually the case with this kind of demo and i and i sat down and i'm like play this like souls and i got to the boss which kills you in one hit yeah no one knew that rolling had invincibility frames on it of course it does though and i think i think i was the only guy that hour that here he had bumps me out because i

wish i'd uh stuck around more for bloodborne on friday because apparently like six or seven people beat that demo entirely and at the end of the day on friday so i was like oh wow looks like i could have been that guy i could have been the guy i want to be the guy i want to be the guy uh but yeah man look uh that's uh salt and sacrifice salt and sacrifice salt and sacrifice you have the fucking fire where is it oh my god we're fucking it up salt and sacrifice yeah that's my bag oh go through it i got you with sanctuary quick in a researching no salt and sanctuary sanctuary right here oh okay salt and sacrifice fucking awesome great game oh i lost it um yes that was one of the games i rounded the corner and i came across the tetropolis section there we go

thing is the rotating of the rooms yeah and whatnot because it's like yeah you straight up can just like you use it to progress but also to explore and it just it's just a huge working thing and and though this and i asked them because i was like okay i need to know legally where are you guys at what are your risks you're using the god damn word tetra well here's what and he's like look and the guys like look we have a legal team and whatnot but here's what's up one tetromino is fine that's not copyrighted it's a it's a geometrical shape with four blocks in it that's tetra means four in latin that's totally fine sure right furthermore the name tetropolis just means four cities yeah and our game has four cities it's about four cities that's the thing yeah

therefore you're totally a okay you are a okay in the in the basic black and white of it all right well i'm paging chris saban well he has to say about this shit and and they said look like if someone wanted to just push honest they could right and in a best-case scenario this would become an officially licensed game yeah we're going to land right but but they're not land mobile they're not too afraid of that yeah i wanted to say like uh one of the things we've talked about in the podcast or i've talked about the podcast not too long ago is that i was really excited about until dawn i never got to go hands on because the the line was so long liam got to play and you just had a few things to say about it it's really good um who to thunk like a couple years ago

just making a bland teen slasher flick and then would be exciting they knew it exciting yeah you're saying how the facial animation was hey you know it's awesome murdering teenagers yeah facial animation all the character's body movement i don't know if it was performance captured uh and the voice acting was all super on point and exactly and the booth was really cool the booth was like a slasher cabin in which all the the teens get killed yeah the game was really pretty it plays kind of like your your silent hill where your third person exploring around uh they're not really combat not really combat uh so like heavy rain if it was a horror game and and it was a horrible game like combat or no combat drink your water man drink your water i drank it all it's any combat

um that being said i didn't stay for the whole demo because i got too scared um that happens that happens um it was just really good and really interesting and it feels like a gap in in survival horror i feel where nowadays you're either indy first person or your big budget sure person badass and this is the like third person yeah big budget your weak horror okay that just doesn't exist that much anymore so it's it's really was there anything that anyone wanted to play but didn't have time for every warriors was the only thing really because i was gonna say that alien isolation was always near where we were right across and i never like i wanted to go play and we almost got in but then they're like sorry the line is closed yeah i got to play everything

computer and you're the world around you disappears and because you need atmosphere to play well was the main thing they said that was the smartest part about that game there was no time limit everyone that sat just played it until you had you know i mean like the actual game it was the fog of war the fog of war makes it right so you're playing like again it's like a dark souls type game kind of zeldae journey style but you right aesthetics like things are threatening it's procedural traps are popping up and you you don't know where they are but the whole thing is just like it's this the environment is the main character not you and like as you traverse through it and you go through the fog of war you let your torch you make your way around it you just you really get into it and uh i

feel the way i felt uh playing eco back in the day when the camera pulls way back which it is known yeah and you're just like whoa look at this fucking environment um everyone just went in different directions in that demo i'm sure uh it was a huge demo and they're like only one person this weekend actually saw everything and wow and he was just a guy that said i'm gonna be selfish and sit here the whole time and they didn't stop him so so they don't even really like him in the end you know they just like he wants to let him go whatever i wouldn't say that one of the main things that took away from packs especially in the contrast to e3 is that it felt very balanced like nintendo had all those areas owned to themselves were hyrule warriors and all the 3ds

stuff was and the giant smash booth microsoft had like a good booth with like everyone playing sunset overdrive sony had admittedly we didn't touch halo or dragon age but they were there yeah people like guess what no photography or video footage allowed of dragon age because it probably was balls that's right meanwhile over at guilty gear xard there is no faith in that game that is like the saddest thing over at xard some guy pulls out a camera while pat and i are there and the guy just says can you at least make to get a guy in the shot so it doesn't yeah so people don't confuse it for like right like direct cam footage yeah he's just he looks at you just goes hey god can you just get someone else in the shot and the guys go yeah sure and that was that

you both look he's just like that's reasonable that's extremely reasonable so just meaning that like everyone seemed to have just like an overall good show like everyone was like kind of yeah or it's contrasting to e3 we went to sony microsoft nintendo owned the entire fucking east hall yeah basically and like microsoft's booth is like whatever xbox one but like 2k's booth was massive too like everyone wanted to be there could be there but because there's six fucking floors you go up to the sixth floor and it's like yo yacht clubs got their giant setup mega 64 has their giant setup rooster and everyone had as much space as they needed to do they were you guys had a booth yeah that was quite sizable and it wasn't a parking lot you guys are all devolver had their

giant area like you guys are all playing a lot a lot of the stuff and like the main thing i was walking around and i said this to one even before is that like i'm looking around i asked uh uh the yacht club guys how much is a booth like this cost and it's like oh for packs it's like $2,500 which is not that bad they're like for e3 it's like 10,000 to get a shit booth yeah so for e3 you had the scenario uh this past e3 where konami and capcom didn't show a goddamn thing but they still were there so they didn't lose their spot that that's actually kind of surprising now that thing about that you mentioned is that like metal gear had no presence at packs and even if it was like a video or like a giant trailer is shown or just ground zero or just ground zero which is so

fun but but looking at that like maybe not next maybe not packs east maybe not even packs prime next year but i think it would be cool if like eventually we could have to sell our merch to not even sell our merch but just to have a general overall hq that people can come and see at least one of us wants to come over and see how short i look at look how short pat is and look how how will these dreads are dreads they're dreads with seahawk colors look at this t-shirt we're selling that we just realized has child murder on it yeah that was a sobering moment uh any other indies you took a look at leon um there was one like notable in like somewhat indie game because it's fun it's published the it's published and funded by like a first party and it's murasaki baby which i was

really glad it just it felt really good like it felt like moss mow granny games should feel where they're emotive and they're moody and they're dark and the music's good when you when you came out saying you play it i said to you like the same like repeated for them because it's like i look at this game like what the fuck is the control scheme so it's all touch-based and that's why it was so apprehensive but you use a finger to grab baby's hand and you you walk her through the world well you've seen her right like she looks like a little monster right a little monster and you walk her through the world and give it to girl if you pull it if you pull her hand too hard she'll just fucking fall over on her face because she can't keep up so you just walk her through the world

and you use another finger to move her balloon around which represents her life and you can't let that you know get burst or freeze and shatter or whatever and then there's puzzles in the environment and to solve those you slide the back touch panel to change what the world looks like in the background and you use the back touch to interact with all the things in the background to solve the puzzles in the foreground and then you move baby through what if i have a what if i have baby hands and tiny fingers uh will these puzzles be impossible for me like like you can hold it in in one hand like this and just like handle it all like that and do them independently from each other at your pace but either way it felt really good and it felt like i got baby hands

i just wasn't disappointed i was really happy and like i got a chance to play uh freedom wars which uh although it's like i played the japanese demo but there were improvements like really like this is clearly a patched version interesting because there was differences between this and the japanese version even if they were only subtle there was a big shiny project diva booth i played one round of project diva and was frustrated that i kept pressing circle which kept canceling the out of menus and uh the the only other game i played that i really have something to say on is uh tales of hearts are um which i thought was going to be an absolute four that's for vita oh i thought it was going to be an absolute shit like port remake of the

quick and dirty namco port it was really good it felt really nice actually like it was good totally blew away i'm glad it's tales of hearts and not tales of innocence that's the really really bad ds one that yeah everyone says it sucks and tales of hearts was solid to begin with exactly exactly um okay i i really enjoyed that i forgot i got to actually play like five minutes of ory in the blind forest oh oh shit you did it's tough isn't it it's it's really tough but like you know it's one of those things where i'm like looking at it i'm like oh my god this looks so amazing visual and i think i've told you this willy i keep referencing a game that you're always vaguely aware of it's called astel on the 3do which is a japanese game that what the fuck that has tons of 2d

parallax scrolling so this is similar to astel yeah like i just mean like like it's it's the type of rayman legends type thing but it's just so more more deep and fantasy and and rich in there and it's got the triple jump and it's and it's got a triple jump and like it wasn't so much the game but i'm like the gameplay is fine you're just jumping you're going to think here it's just one of those things that's like it's like limbo in the sense it really draws you in but instead of like with somber dark visuals it's just like really gorgeous color yeah a little bit of um that like dust does yeah a little like dust so this is gonna be wet like way out of left field but there's something that matt said about the triple jump that the jogged it in my fucking brain okay we

played evolve titanfall came out we played borderlands borderlands remember remember the year of the bow or every single this is the year of the double jump and more specifically jetpack the jetpack even monster i play fucking monster hunter and the big innovation for monster 4 is that you jump you jump yeah jumping or and more and just and more towards like fast motion your character can go anywhere the game will challenge you according to this like all duty is doing it too like yeah the thorn and freedom wars every game just has movement advanced movement options i like attack on tight well the do you know why i've been crying for fucking legend of kage again i want a return to here we go it's last gen we saw a lot of games have really limited movement like stop and pop

cover shooters have like no movement options at all sunset overdrive yeah yeah there you go there you go but everywhere next gen will be put into fast moving yeah run jump do whatever yeah uh i got my hands on a couple more indies as well uh while i was running around there uh namely darkest dungeon i'm really glad i sat down and played that i went through the demo i had a good chit chat with those yeah those guys are really chill they're really really quick good guys and um man i'm we i did not know about how much they built upon the game since we the last like update from the kickstarter because originally you just saw the four classes and you saw um okay you place them where you want but the placement of the four characters in director's dungeon affects their skills and what

they can do it's crucial like it's it's tantamount exactly like so they introduce a home for new characters as well and so you have eight classes and um it's just it's this roguelite game where you're going through everything's very procedural but there's so much customizable uh there's so many ways you can customize your party well like i love it's just it's fun man one of the things i really loved about it is how the characters all have the good and the bad and they have their their vices in addition yes yes yes and like what kind of vices we talking about so okay you can be going through the dungeon right and like the only way you heal is in a room that becomes safe you can light up a bonfire and do a little camp okay and then you can have your little perks and whatnot

very classic d&d style like rest your parties yeah yeah um things can happen that raise your uh i forgot what the word is but it's your stress meter you have a stress meter that like if you're in an area where everything is over leveled your characters are strength vitality sensor right and for some people that's good for some people that's bad some people work good under pressure exactly some people come in like fucking crazy exactly and then you mix that in with someone that just like one of your characters starts drinking and then like do you let do you like stop them or do you keep it going a couple of rooms later they might be fucking alcoholic you know and like do you let it roll see whether that works or not or like you don't know where

it's going to go some people get sicknesses that stay with them and you can keep that going the entire game and like it might be good it might be bad if you're sick it's probably bad you know but like there's just a ton of things that affect your game going in and your characters can get scared and just like shit just happens to them they're they're they're they're very like they're very uh vulnerable yeah to things besides the enemy it makes me think of like uh like older mods or like something like banner saga or it's like yeah better or it's like you're just like you're doing your shit you're doing your game and then it's like guess what there's a fucking problem yeah don't don't just keep your party alive keep them sound manage them yeah actually manage them

yeah um the new generation of origant trail yeah no and of course just visually i'm gorgeous i mean the you know nothing else to be said about that um and i was standing around uh just staring with my mouth open mouth open just staring at some indies just like dude just pops just taps me on the shoulder and he's like he's the guy that's uh that's made um uh fistful of gun and yeah and he just taps me on the shoulder and goes hey you want to play i'm like yeah okay and he introduces the concept in this game to me and like i was eyeballing it a little bit but i didn't really get what was going on and then i stayed there for a good 15 20 minutes with this guy as people walked up and i just kept playing fistful of gun is so cool what a good fucking name you know

exactly what it's referring to what was the question you're about to ask how many fists of gun do you have two nine nine nine fists of gun that's much more fist gun this game is nine players simultaneously nine's not even local no yes local nine player game i don't understand so here's what's going on top view game right um i carry warriors like top view contra levels etc you know that type of thing um but every character that you choose on this like character select screen has a peripheral assigned to them okay so not just stats not just stats a different piece of plastic in your hand for each one for each character right and okay each nine of them and with each one they have a totally different gameplay mechanic based on the type of gun they have okay so yeah go ahead so for

example if you're playing um the with the the xbox controller or the game pad yeah and you're playing uh character one on the game pad yeah he is uh like a twin stick kind of movement guy okay except the shot is you have to flick the stick in the direction to shoot you've got six shots that seems tough and then you've got to flick it back to reload six times with each bullet manually yeah so as you're moving i can visually i'm going to try to explain it on the podcast but you have one hand on the controller moving your hand moving your character your other hand is palm on top of like like a six shooter like a six shooter flicking it towards the enemies and that's one character another guy has the mouse and he's doing the you lead the character around with the cursor

hold sniper shot from across the screen right yeah keep when someone on the keyboard is you've got four cardinal directions you've got two keys each key is the barrel of your gun your shotgun you can shoot two you can shoot one reload them individually the other controller character is like uh you have the you have the again the stick in your hand move your guy around flick the stick up and down to fill the buck shot into your fucking gun and then used hopefully it up and use the trigger to shoot at your guys so you've got this awesome setup where you can have nine people on a keyboard two controllers and a mouse all playing the same game going through this fucking hard adventure and it's awesome that sounds bananas that was really cool so much

versatility and on top of that every round you have a perp you gain that stacks like um that indie game we were playing uh the the the fish remember um oh uh like shigimi yeah like that sense where you just you stack a new ability and yeah on top of your guy as you go through it and it's fuck hard right uh yeah man fistful of gun now that game sounds a little dude just pulled me over and i was like oh my god yeah like i think i saw a destructor article today that said i now know why devolver picked up fistful of gun yeah devolver is so on devolver is fucking doing it really sad to see that titan souls was not playable it was just not where we were oh mother fucker it wasn't in the devolver booth it was in their own booth and if you beat it you got a t-shirt oh mother fucker

a side effect of buying that place out they just spend a certain amount of money and thus they bought a billion gazillion dollars worth of hummer the arcade game of hummer they bought a million they bought a ton of money in arcade cards and drew drink tickets yeah so we went up to stuttering craig and i was like yo stuttering craig you're great you're awesome he's like well i i know you are too you guys are also awesome and we're just like whoa stuttering craig news best commence the reach around yeah exactly but right onto the wheel of fortune machine exactly throwing game cards and look just a table with a everyone table with a stack of game cards and at their feet was a literal mountain of drink

tickets there is a wheel of fortune those shitty arcade arcade cabinets that are drawing their like tickets and shit yeah and they had they had 20 000 tickets by the end of the night so we yeah so i'm walking through and i just see craig and all these dudes in the store thing and he's just holding up and throwing stuff animals or i'm just going ah you know like we we went we played sega hummer which is this crazy arcade game yeah it's like you just drive a hummer the more you crash into things the more boost you get and if you crash it switches to player two yeah there's two steering wheels on the same hummer two players constantly have to switch and the cab just jostles and jukes all over the place and then in the middle of you two is a giant glowing boost
