Yeah, I actually played a few matches of overwatch before we took a look at it and a little bit after. And you know, it's kind of weird because it's still a beta, so a lot of some things you

can't quite do yet. I really feel like calling that a beta is like, come on, it's coming out in two weeks. Actually, they did confirm that what you got there today is going to be the release. Yeah, I mean, certain things like skins and stuff, you can't do anything with them yet. You can get skins. Yeah, you can, but they'll be white. All the progress and all the achievements are going to be white. White, yes.

It's hard to get the money. There probably is going to be a better way to get it. So hard to get the money. With your credit card. Yeah, probably. It'll be really easy. See, there's certain skins that I'll gladly pay for. Earning through the loot boxes is just, it takes a while.

But all the good ones, the Gurren Lagann, Reinhardt's skin is fucking a thousand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But what we do know is that they're adding the competitive mode, basically. But beyond that, it's going to be what you got right now. Which is apparently just, even now, just rife with cheaters. Rife with cheaters. Yeah. Just hilarious.

Dude, here's what I don't get. Here's what I don't get. Footage of competitive players who've done interviews clearly using aim box. And it's not just people that use turrets, either. What I don't understand is that if you are a competitive player in a video game thing, right, your time is limited. If people can see what you're doing, you will be found out. Like, unless you have an aim box that's not as suspicious as it would be.

And low and behold. And especially, it's a blizzard game who crack down pretty hard on cheating. They don't like cheating. Because they put money into their games. How did you find your games? How did I find them? How much fun did I have? How did you enjoy them?

I enjoyed them other than the fact that, like, when I want to cut... I was like, well, I want to just do, like, you know, just like a deathmatch or whatever. Then I go into customize. And I would see 13 pages of customization of all the different things. And I'm like, ah, fuck it. No, I'll just find a quick game. I was just like, I don't have the patience to set up a game. That's funny.

I never even clicked on custom. Yeah, no. But I just wanted to see it. I imagined that the custom thing is so complex so that blizzard has a game that may accidentally create another game mode that's Dota. Totally. And yeah, no, I played a couple of games, just like, you know, the random teammate stuff and the protect the loads or whatever.

You got to protect your load. Convoy. Everyone's trying to get some. And scored the great big con. I can't believe you're doing that joke too. Are you doing that joke also? We were cracking up. I think the game is pretty fun, even though it's not typically the type of thing that

I like to play. Like this is just, you know, the multiplayer stuff. But I mean, it plays well. Like all the characters, like even though there's somebody like more than others, all of them are still pretty fantastic. All of them at least have one skin that's fucking amazing for each guy. And it's just like, yeah, it's just good, simple, fun, not much more than that, but it's good stuff so far.

I really, really liked it. I like, so I was really intimidated because it's like, well, I have this big fancy PC, so I want to play it on a PC, but like I'm old now and my mouse and keyboard shooter skills are gone. Right. Luckily player movement in that game is not so fast that that's a big enough issue. And it's no quake. Like I like, I remember me and you were talking about very briefly.

I was being a smarmy little shit about how much of a MOBA it was. You were being a smarmy little shit. But now that I have actually played more of it, there are elements of it that are very MOBA-like. The way you're cool, the way your cooldowns work. Skills. That's it. The way your skills work is identical to a MOBA.

But like, is that attributed to MOBAs or is that attributed to any RTS that came before that? The four skill thing is so attributed to MOBAs now. It's two skills. Okay. But the four skill thing is super attributed to MOBAs because a lot of games like. But it did exist before MOBAs. Absolutely.

And they are set to the same buttons. But more than that, it's that the abilities that they use are like carbon copies of abilities that are common in MOBAs. Like Mei with her ice wall and her and Roadhog with his chain grab and stuff like that. Like those are direct. Though these are really tangential things versus like actual MOBA gameplay elements that don't really exist. You know, the match type or whatever.

There's nothing MOBA like in the gameplay. But MOBA is more than its match type kind of thing. Dude, like just all the different characters interacting is such a blast. They're all really, like they're way more different than TF2 classes. Way, way more. And I had a situation where I went in with by myself a couple of times and that was always like a mess. Then I went in with a full team and the first thing that happened was my team got completely

hurt by real players. And then after a couple stomps, like it tries to keep you in the same match so that you don't have to match make unlike a MOBA which will match make every time. It then goes, okay, we're trying to find a better skill gap between you and your next opponents. And on the next one, it was like even. It was actually really, really even. Did you try it at all, Ian?

No, but I've watched a lot of matches of it. I know a lot about the game, but I played it. My beta key just never arrived and it kind of frustrated me actually. Really? Yeah. I pre-ordered the game ages ago and it was just kind of shitty. Well, it was open for a few days at least. Yeah, but I still didn't know.

Yeah, you just did it. Yeah, okay. A weird thing for me, sorry. Just really quickly. A weird thing for me is just the fact that like when people talk about, you know, wife rewards and stuff, I'm always like, yeah, sure, I guess, but I've gone in super hard on this really, really bad where I went from like not caring about like, I don't know, like your persona girls or whatever, like almost anything.

Yeah, I remember your eye rolls having noise to them. I just remember being on Twitter and seeing Cranky go, I like this character. I'm like, you like garbage? Like it's really weird because up until like. It bubbles out of your gut. Up until like three months ago, I barely remember that Overwatch was a thing. Totally. And the last time I remember cognitively remembering seeing it was at PAX East last year when there

was a giant Overwatch booth and that's all I saw. It was so big that you can never miss it. And I was like, oh, Overwatch, that's that thing with that really bland name, which I still think it's a bland name and a bland kind of logo. But that's lizard game. It's that's barely. But now there's a fire in your eyes. Tracer is mine.

Tracer, Widowmaker, Pharaoh. It's the differences you got to actually play as them and get an attachment to their. I guess so. I guess so. But like, it's just also the the the Pixar kind of aesthetic also kind of helps in a weird way. And then the CG movies helped a lot too. It's very, it's very flavorful.

Winston's a waifu basically. Yeah, very flavorful. I hate Winston. I like him too. I like him. Winston's got cool stuff though. Like I like some of his stuff, like his lightning gun that shoots through shields, shoots through shields though.

That's. Damn it. Like it's really cool. Okay, so that. No. Okay. Winston's got a lot of cool stuff. Everyone's got weird gimmicks that I wasn't aware of until right after the beta ended.

So a friend of mine was telling me that. It's not ended. It's going until. It's one more day. They added a day to it. It's ending on the 10th. Sick. Yeah.

I can go in because you know, Farah, you know, she has her jump or big jump. Yeah. If you're indoors, it becomes a super fast dash forward. Oh yeah, it's true. Because if it can't, if the game determines that you can't jump, it'll go forward instead so that you can get out to outside. You were saying something before and I. So I opened up the client and it didn't close the entire time the beta was running.

Yeah. I do. You just out tab out there. I've probably put in my gamer time, my game timer. I think is that nine hours right now. Yeah. I'm in. So it's really good.

Beyond a shadow. Really, really, really good. Like I, the one tweet I put out was basically I, if Overwatch was third person, it'd be my perfect game. Yep. It's not that it isn't. It's, it's a big bummer that it's not third person because you, you can't see your character. And I love these characters.

Like what do you like? Do you like Genji Woolly? I think he's super cool. He's super cool, but I don't use him. But I don't use him. It's really frustrating. And that, that applies to most of the cast is I think you're super cool. I don't use you, including me.

Yeah. It's like Woolly, like not only is it you. It's what you want to be. But it's what you wanted. Totally. But sometimes when you get there. But I'm not a support cast dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So I don't play Luchia. So, so like Reaper, like, oh, so in, I'm not really, he's a little like two on the nose to what I actually want that I don't want him. But with his old costume. With his old costume. But his old costume. That's what I wanted. That's super cool.

So. It looks like he could be on Luchia Underground now. So I've, I've learned a lot doing this. And a couple of things like just interesting observations because I didn't play much team fortress at all. Yeah. I thought I was going to get into TF2 when it was coming out. I never never got in.

But in this case, I definitely did. And I do think that, you know, the characters and the aesthetic differences are like making a difference to me. Yeah. But I, the one thing I'm still not used to, and this is just like a testament, I guess to not playing a lot of first person shooters in general. I'm not used to killing a bunch of people and being like, yeah, I want to do a good. I killed like three people.

Bam. And now I'm, or getting a five kill streak. And now, and, but then just kind of waiting to die because you have to die eventually. The feeling of like defeating someone in a fighting game is like you beat them and then the round ends. Yeah. And now you're, you're good. And then we go on, but in a fight, but in a first person shooter, especially one like

this, you have to die. Dying is the cycle. Not necessarily. You don't have to die. You just. If you're amazing. You back up and recoup. Yeah.

If you're amazing, you can, you can play a flawless game. Just, just work on your objective instead. The game loop assumes you're going to get a bunch of kills and then get killed by respawned guys with more life and, you know, and, and, and who are responding closer to whatever the objective. And yeah. And, and, and, you know, and so I'm just, I'm just like, they're all that feeling of like, oh shit, I fucked up every time I died is like something that you have to kind

of go like, well, but you didn't always fuck up. Sometimes you got ambushed. Sometimes half your team was dead and you, you was very little. You was you versus the entire other team and you had no fucking chance. And so that's how I kind of are thinking about how so many people rage quit hard and like make those rage like videos about them losing in like Call of Duty and Halo and first person shooters a lot because dying is part of the equation to some degree, unless you're a god. Unless you're amazing, you're where you're playing a character that's particularly defensive

and hanging back. Like you will die. When you're, yeah. When you, when bad luck or bad beats happen and took me, it took me a minute to kind of just get used to that. Also, also characters that like succeed while dying. So there's a, you know, diva, she shoots out her robot. Of course.

A huge bomb. Like there was a play somebody sent me where a Reinhardt saw that happen. Totally. And charges charge it out of the way out of the arena. So that doesn't kill any of us. And you're not going to get the play of the game for saving everybody. But you should. But you're a fucking hero.

There's some really cool stuff that they have in this game that like, yeah, things like that, things like, uh, the fact that you can attach a sticky bomb to like, um, junk rats wheel special and have him wheel up and do more. Yeah. Uh, you can, you can, you can have all kinds of little tricks where you combine one special with another to get amazing results. So I, I, I want to ask, uh, Liam, you, you haven't played it, but do you have any character that you would particularly lean to or stands out in your mind?

Uh, I, I, there's a lot that I want to pick. I don't like, I'm not really keen on junk rat. Uh, I really like soldier 76. Yeah. With hitscan stuff. I'm really keen to, It's hitscan super so. Yeah.

No, I'm, I'm really keen to try that. I think he's really interesting. I've got you in my sights. Hide, hide, hide. Okay. Yeah. Don't even fight. Diva, Diva's pretty neat, but I'm not sure I like the idea of ditching your Mac.

Yeah. Exactly. It seems really tricky to, to, she seems ridiculously weak without her Mac. So she's weak with the Mac too. Yeah. Uh, Hanzo and, um, God, what's his name? Uh, no, no, the, the Delsim guy. Uh, Zenyatta.

Zenyatta. Yeah. Zenyatta's my favorite healer guy. Um, no, there's a whole bunch. Like honestly, lots of them. There's, there's very few that I'm not interested in. Yeah. Well, but, uh, so to the, to the guys who did play the game, who did you gravitate towards?

Uh, okay. So I've already confirmed that I don't use me. Yeah. So take a guess. Unfortunate. You don't use you. I have, I have. So Roadhog.

No. Cause I don't know your first person shooter tastes. Yeah. Like he has none. Yeah. Exactly. So I'm knowable. I'm, I'm, uh, hypermaning Reinhardt.

Okay. Uh, I'm alting Zarya. Zarya. Zarya. The mother Russian girl. Oh God. I picked her so heavy for TF2. I picked her so not often and saw her in game so not often that I didn't even know her fucking.

Yeah. I didn't see much of her. Her gimmick is really weird compared to a lot of the other shield yourself. Shield your friends and then your damage. Get your damage up. Yeah. Uh, so I secondary Zarya and everyone, everyone has a pocket bastion. Not me because it's free kills.

Not me. Really? I can't, I never. At some point in the fight, you're going to see pocket bastions because it's just like you camp up when the guy where the team is not looking and terrible. Yeah. You get the play of the game because you just wipe out three people in two seconds. Like it's always fun when you're really winning really hard and the team goes like four bastions.

Yeah. Well, that's no too many bastions is bad because you get counterpicked really hard. But like we were playing, we were digging around last night like with a full team and like you could actually do a full team of Zarius and protect each other and yourselves. Yeah. And buff yourselves up and go in hard. Like thinking like, you know, a full team is never the best, but just I can imagine how infuriating it would be to play against like a full team of tracers.

You don't have the right characters to deal with. Or a full team of maize. Hard counter, a full team of maize was garbage. We actually did that. Oh really? It was terrible. But hard counterpicks. Oh because you have no long range ability at all.

Hard counterpicks. You just have tons of walls all over. Become a problem. You build your own arena. Nothing happens. You make your own forts. So here's the other thing. When you play on your own, you get thrown into whatever games with whatever team compositions.

It's pretty messed up. You ultimately, you have people that are playing different characters, looking and seeing what needs to be there. The game will even suggest. That is the biggest thumbs up that I wish would be translated back into Hero of the Storm. It's like you have a bad composition. Fix your composition.

No dealers. No support. No offense. No, you know, whatever. Really, really cool. Too many vests. Too many that, right? And so you usually end up getting balanced out because people look at that and go,

Okay, I'll pick my second favorite character or my third favorite character. When you play as a group and you travel into games with all six of you, you get paired up with other groups. You don't get paired up with other individual teams. That's what happened to my group is like we ran into a bunch of guys who were also clearly using Discord, but they knew how to play first person shooters. And it was not even, it was a fucking massacre. So that was the, so like straight up, as soon as we played that first six person game,

we got wrecked. But then it was also like guys were not talking, were not coordinated and these guys are very clearly coordinated. There is a world of difference between your team game and your pub game here. They were like, you're watching like strategies, clearly like a team of three and a team of three moving as a unit, complimenting each other. And it was like, you couldn't penetrate. So we start, we got on Discord and we started talking and like made it work and the communication

aspects and the fact that these characters are designed so well to balance off of each other makes the game a blast. I fucking love it. Reinhardt and Zarya, how about you, Matt? I haven't played every single character. Like I haven't tried Zenyatta or Symmetra, sorry, Symmetra is weird. She's the only design I'm not hot on. I really like Symmetra.

People are going to kill you now. Good job. Her last skin is she's just sheba. Her Deva skin is awesome. Yeah. For me, it's actually, yeah, it would probably be Farah right now, just because I think her mobility is really good and like her ultimate, which is just being the fucking reins from above.

Just swarming the missiles is really cool. And I like Tracer a lot. Like other than the fact that she's like fun and cute or whatever, it's her, her actual guns remind me so much of the double cyclones from Perfect Dark, the way that they shoot. I love that gun. So that's kind of why I'm like, yeah. The way Reaper tosses his guns away too is really cool. Yeah.

That too. I've only played like one match as Reaper, but that, and I played a little bit of Winston and like, yeah, that's why he's like weird, but I'm like, he's just so kind of, and again, his animated short does a lot. Like I know it's probably unfeasible, but if they had done like one for everybody, everyone that's a lot of money. I'm sure they will. As the money.

I'm sure they will. If any come out, they're going to. Cause there's like, I guess, like maybe that's all live was Widowmaker and, and I was going to say, I don't think Roadhog and Junkrat are going to get separate ones. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe. I think everyone will have their, have their moment.

Yeah. Because you do Genji and Hanzo together. Yeah. And they have their young outfits for a reason. Yeah. Plus there's the origins outfits that a lot of the characters get as well. You know, there's definitely going to be more of those for sure. They've got the money.

And like ultimately, I think I said this before. No, well, you've got the money. I've got the money. The point. Yeah. Is that I would love it. Love it in the future. Like hopefully Lore Wars is a big success.

Like I would love it. Like just an actual CG animated movie. Oh, yeah. Well, they're already, they're already doing that thing in theaters now where like on opening on the launch date of the game or whatever, they're playing all the CG stuff in theaters. I know that. It's like free showings or something. So I got to say, like dicking around with support characters and non offensive characters.

Like it was really interesting to see very weird how you can like still have a ton of fun just being a support. So what they've done to the support classes in this game makes me like want to shit all over support classes and other first person shooters like Mercy's moveset is the best fly. Just she did you have not played the button at the game. She has a shitty pistol that doesn't matter and you hit shift while looking at a teammate and you will fly to them no matter where the fuck they are and you're there and you're

healing them. And when they're healed, you can instead buff them to do more damage. And it kind of like takes out the boring parts of being a medic or a support class. Yeah. And her vision allows her to see where the team is and what damage you have. All support types have that. On the map. Yeah.

All support types can see all their teammates everywhere at all times. And of course her ultimate is heroes never die. And it's an AOE res. Yeah. So she resurrects you. But it's super great when you kill her mid into mid-strength. You know you get anyone's ultimate like I've got it also has the side effect of super exposing aim bots.

Yes. Which is awesome. Yes. So will he went in deep in another way by resurrecting just get killed immediately. No. So the way that was one of the ways the guy got exposed the way the guy got exposed. He was aiming somewhere and then the team got revived and the aim bot just went like to all the revives.

Like it shoves between five players in because they're all just appearing suddenly and it's like oh I gotta be on their heads. Oh you fucking scumbag. Wow. Well like we said before he just completely got exposed. Yeah. It was nice. And he didn't interview about how good the game was and shit.

Yeah. Proud he was to be like playing competitively and shit. So I just want to get like just before that I played a lot of Roadhog. Roadhog is fucking awesome. He's such a pain to fight. His chain extends so much farther than it looks visually. It's a real problem and he's like most in a lot of cases he's a hard fight for Reinhardt. Because like the thing that I was I was doing is like just shotgunning them usually kills

them if they're Tracer or if they're Wintermaker or whatever. But better than that it's like grab Bastion. Grab Reinhardt. Grab one of their defense guys. Also Tracer's movement abilities are so nuts. Yeah. The cool part though is kind of her deal. When she does rewind.

She gets her health back. But you do have an idea of where she's going to be. So that's why like I usually use up all my dashes at the beginning of the fight so that it becomes very unclear where I'm going to be when I rewind. But fighting Tracer once like if you have the fight in your mind you can hit her with a rock at the instant she comes out of it. It's great. Yeah like when it was fair the sort of thing where it happened where I'm like let me just

put down some fire over the oh there you go. And Tracer teleports into her own fucking death. Torbjorn Torbjorn like as I'm adored but seriously like I wanted to like the engineer in TF2 but the thing that always drove me crazy is that his turret like has like a cone like a vision cone Torbjorn's is fucking 360 degrees. And his ult is so strong. His ult makes him stronger than any other character in a fight and makes his turret stronger than any other character in a fight.

And I'm not 100% but he might he might also get a slight heal when he uses it. No but he is his health doubles. Okay that's what happens. Yeah. It's fucking strong. And when he uses it his health doubles and it goes to full so like he goes from like being weak to being like a one on one fighter with like what's his name. Death Reaper man death Reaper Reaper Reaper Reaper.

You've said his name in time and you don't remember his name. It's so on the nos it's so on the nose. Who would I really appreciate it. I didn't know I knew this for some of the characters but I really appreciate the fact that they almost all like except for Winston technically they all have real names like Reaper's name is like Ezekiel something. Oh yeah yeah yeah Reaper Reaper it's their code names. Yeah and you go on to his last costume and it's like I think it's Isaac or something

like that. Reyes Reyes. It's a dude. Like Tracer is Lena, Lena, Austin and like so everyone has real names like even the robots have like a fuller name and I just like McCree is Jesse McCree because of course why would it be. That's a weirdly weird thing that I like because they didn't have to do they could all just be just have one more name.

Well I think I think the origins stuff is supposed to like explain their past and where they came from. Oh and May I had a blast with May. May is really cool. A wonderful moment where you throw out her ultimate and it freezes the entire team and then your buddy as Farrah uses her ultimate and there's the whole team. Well like I was going to say like you didn't see much of Zarya but Zarya's ult combined with anyone else.

Oh anyone else's anything. So Zarya's is a black hole that sucks everyone together. Does no damage but it sucks everyone into one spot. Anyone else's with that and everyone's fucking done. So you said you put in nine hours Pat do you know how much you put in. I put in I feel like I put in about that. Maybe a little less. So like I put in maybe an hour and a half but I went double down in a different way

than you guys that the Tracer statue at my door that that for two purposes one I wanted it for and to kind of like kind of like product research there's something about your tone I wanted it. It's a really good statue. That came in and I haven't it's probably one of the nicest collectibles I've had and the only thing I'll say about it though is it has a little light base. Yeah the little orange part of the overwatch like oh logo lights up and that's kind of cool but the only thing I'll say is that I really wish that the actual blue Tracer

streak that goes into her which is just supports her back so she doesn't go around. It'd be so much cooler if that part lit up blue around that's the only thing that's a knock against it because everything else is just sublime on this one the real legacy statue where he's doing the show you can have a light as well. It's supposed to light up the blue part but it doesn't do it so it's super super thinking about like death grim reaper guy or whatever that's like deathman did anyone really like him playing as him like he's fine right? I didn't touch him.

Don't stand out. His teleports are cool. The way that I'm thinking about it is about his teleports is that I love how Blizzard's designed these characters to fit very specific FPS niches where there are people who their favorite thing in a game is to somehow get behind the other team and shoot them all in the back and they built an entire character around getting behind the team and shooting them in the back and like there's infinite potential for more of these characters. I'm also a huge fan of he's teleporting and you see him teleporting in so you know to

stand there and as soon as he appears he's getting pushed to the wall. Yeah no, no as soon as you see him he's done. I hope you guys are enjoying the Overwatch cast for really marking out. Yeah well the speed up thing is did the whole team get wiped okay put the speed on and you and turn it up and then the whole team is back right back in there. Or teleporter.

Yeah. Did you play Zenyatta? At all. I didn't touch him either. He's the support type that most people that don't like the other support types like because he has his moves are. Orb of Discord and Orb of Harmony right. Yeah so Orb of Harmony as you just point it at somebody and a little turret just heals

them forever it appears like it heals until they're full and then Orb of Discord as you hit that on somebody and they take double damage and his regular attack is pretty decent so you throw like you throw an Orb of Discord on Reinhardt and all of a sudden like his shield just popped and he's dead. And his ult where he starts glowing. Yeah he becomes totally invincible and heals everyone in a giant AOE round. Embrace tranquility. Yeah.

You were going to say? Just really good because I did play a few other random things really aside from Overwatch. I put some time into Alienation on the PS4 which is again one of the most forgettable names I've ever seen but that game is pretty solid. I don't play it to the Six Shooters a lot but this one just plays nice and I just like it. It also smacks up a lot of XCOM though just it's set up and Aliens are taking over. The Future Soldier art yeah so it's a really pretty game though like their particle effects

are nuts. It's actually really really pretty and it just it plays well so that's basically it. It's a little less risk taking than Outland. Outland was the Ubisoft game. Well it's by the same guys. Yeah it's the same developer. Housemark made it. Housemark made it.

It's just that that was like a little like you know riskier in terms of its theme or whatever because that was cool. I played a little bit of Star Fox Zero about ours so the first three missions I really actually like it like yeah controls take a lot of getting used to but I mean like that's it. Other than that like wow this mission was fun. The shooting feels good and like the only thing is that Peppy's voice is not perfect. How do you feel about the complaints from some people?

They mentioned the words Jojo and Savage Garden and it didn't quite get what they meant. Right. And I was like whatever and then I was just yeah I was looking at random Jojo music and I was like okay yeah the opening theme of Phantom Blood all that and I just see Jojo Part 4 like and I was like this is what they meant they actually got the fucking Savage Garden song I totally get and now like I love that like I always like that Savage Garden song. Yeah.

Who does this? And then what was it you said like Savage Garden was ass and they were humbled like yeah we would love to. And they put him on the cover of their new release. So I used that song in the stream opening or whatever and that was real fun and like and they walk like in Egyptian and everything else. That's the one thing is just like there's some stuff that they do that you'd be missing out on and like and particularly like to see as well like you know the to be continued

thing obviously. The reason why people do that is because when it's done in the show it's fantastic. Because I haven't seen it so strong in the show yet. There's also some good fights that I think are really fun. Benefits from animation. Okay no wait hold on. The fights don't benefit from animation so much as they benefit from the sound. It's mostly just cuts to well illustrated motion comic stuff. Kind of. Like there's not that much in the way of like smooth fighting or anything like that. But they don't. but the main character of India Arbaz has fucking nothing at the end of that game oh really he kind of like builds off of it seems to me like these three stories build off each other and Shao's thing is all about the box right and then in this one the box is there and there's a gem that goes with it oh snap but like he just starts and the box is just continuing from Shao and he's like a football player and he runs it and then he passes it to the Russia guy you know but he doesn't actually do a whole lot in the middle he just kind of like handles them for a second that's fucking lame yeah so it's following one piece of Eden I yeah the gem in the box which is maybe that's the one piece I don't know there's I think

I talked about when I played India a little bit like you know a few months ago but I really hated the line in India early on were like hundreds and hundreds of years later some Indian guards look you know who kicked our ass hundreds of years ago some Chinese lady yeah I was like what what relations yeah exactly that's really bad that's really annoying me right now they did improve a lot like one of the big problems with China was like they give you way too many tutorials and I think up until chapter 5 you're just getting tutorials constantly and it starts you with the most basic bitch shit of like press square to attack and it's like yes I know what square does I hit square a second ago and then like Ezio has to teach you it for three minutes

start out wanting to see this cool Russian assassin running on the Kremlin's rooftops but by the end you're like I want to go back to the present that's what's really show me the present at the very least Russia is the most visually interesting where it has all the dark reds and everything looks like a propaganda poster and like India is the second most visual industry and I've always felt like China didn't really know but by the end of the game did you get to the the precursor temple or whatever the fuck it's called China in India in India maybe a huge chunk of the game takes place in a series of caves that are really like they're cool looking but you stay in them way too long yeah and in China it's all like gray and red for the most part but like at least you can read

stuff in India I found the colors were like too busy for some of the later things you have to do where it's like oh shit that's a piece of cover I couldn't even like it's barely green yeah but there's tigers in India there's tigers in India and elephants yeah you were we were discussing and you did say though the there's a little control jank never really goes away no it still feels the same it's a little smoother in India but it's still there yeah it's there's no significant difference I know I do know Matt said it was a bit smoother and I know that the the trilogy pack like the set of all three together they did change some stuff in China oh really yeah cuz I noticed when I was playing it there was some very slight differences so maybe Matt is correct and it did get a little

terrible movie there actually wasn't anything extra that I caught that I missed the first time around yeah I was gonna say like it seemed pretty like plain Jane got it all yeah not at all but then you got it again what I did get though was seeing it with the three days later night crowd mm-hmm that didn't react to the same jokes they got no fun no laughs and it was way it's more of a filled it was full it was way more of a bummer with the second crowd than with the first crowd it matters which you think they were all seeing it a second time like maybe maybe but I remember some of the stuff that popped super hard there's a lot of value in seeing things with that first crowd of people that really get it and love it yeah the loudest pop to me was just a bucky and the

gags in the car the gags in the car specifically when cap does something yeah yeah yeah and then they know yeah the funny ass gags in the in the theater I was in yes some of the gags were good but the biggest one was giant man giant man so best I was so happy I didn't know about that yeah and if you watch a Iron Man sorry Iron Man if you watch Ant-Man it's interesting because they like that's the one thing that you're waiting for yeah you know that's the still just totally has that power but they never pull it out so yeah I mean you know we can probably have some sort of discussion about this at a later time like at the very end of the podcast but I don't think there's not much to say other than it's fantastic and and I my enjoyment was almost ruined by how

embarrassed I felt for Snyder yeah this is how personally embarrassed this is a curb stomp from orbit it's really bad the DCU in the near term of like well a month and a half two months between the two movies a month or something it's it's a very unfavorable comparison it's and the moment and it's strong in all the ways that BVS is weak it's because it's the same type of story yeah you're looking at internal conflict and and you know between two characters that feel they're on the right side so you can directly that conflict is relatively similar it's can you be trusted with this power yeah and some people say no some other people say and like the like Cap and Tony have multiple arguments about the the accords in this film and they're real

arguments they're not like Batman and Superman just going you're getting you're getting real like yeah that's a good point I have fun with like bread and whatever and people on Twitter just like oh you're a communist if you're doing so and all that fun and the comic book Civil War is completely different beast really yeah in the movie one like I was surprised at how well like holy shit you're actually giving Tony some like yeah no sure so here's the thing I never agreed with Tony and I didn't agree with him in this movie but then you get to the end of the movie and I still don't agree with Tony but how can you blame though yeah that kind of came out that that was one of those moments how can you blame him when he took this path to get here your mental checklist your mental

checklist goes through all the shots you saw in the trailer and you're like I didn't see this one yet so I know something's gonna go down so towards the end you're like I haven't seen that shot yet how they're gonna get there and then they get there you're like yeah nope all right this is a completely fair disagreement I got nothing to say to you dude yeah do it yeah I was gonna say really good the thing I was saying to I think Liam the other day is like the one thing I'm like most flabbergasted like how is that it avoids the problem that that that happens to a lot of comic movies especially when they're they've already had a couple goes it's like Spider-Man 3 age of Ultron you have so much how do you get around the ensemble cast how do you get around a

somal cast how do you have like a story thread that you can keep together and it's just so hard to do that like I understand it's hard and like the fact that this movie does it there are like double the amount of characters that Avengers 2 had and it handles some better and everyone moment very simple one word joy you put joy in the movie everyone is happy to be there you know you say that Spider-Man 3 was not about joy and neither was age of Ultron but what I mean it but what I mean is you don't have the joylessness of the Snyder verse where it just feels like everything like this is a very flimsy argument okay I felt that the way the cast was represented in Civil War I just mean balancing and writing you mean everyone got their part he means literally

minutes on screen yeah I just know how everything was leveled that like eat like even though like Hawkeye appears in the movie and he's in the trailers and stuff when they show him like he's so late to the game how is he oh you had little bits of great dialogue with him and everyone has I was a man and man who's the biggest bit player in the movie yeah gets basically gets his own like intro scene and then like dominates part of the fight like the latter half of that okay I was kind of going like like how why would I like how did you make it so that you care about these people even though they have such small small parts but like each character that they introduce that's like that's the perfect introduction and not only that but like the the worry is like

everyone's obviously gonna get their moment right everyone's gonna get their time to shine yep but everyone doesn't get their moment in here they get two or three or four yeah everyone gets multiple moments where you're like oh that's yeah you know Hawkeye a character that I don't particularly care for might have been one of my favorite characters in this movie right I think the only person who got it bad was War Machine yeah who got relatively little on the grand scheme I love Don Cheadle yeah he got a cool entrance at that one scene and that but that was kind of it fucking Black Panther does a hunting hawk so Black Panther does a lot great intro there's the one thing that I'll say about this movie that feels a little cynical is you can feel the Black Panther

push from space oh man it's oh they're going in intense Wakanda is picking its fucking legs up and you know it always depends on whose movies next if Black Panthers was two movies away his push should be smaller the fact that it's literally next I think it's next year yeah he's pushing this movie is strong hey you know you know who's the coolest and can run faster than Cap and is better than Bucky and is invincible has a cool sexy accent and he's cool and he can fight Bucky with no suit and he's oh he's so hot so here's Dr. Stranger's movie is next no mention to him that's true yeah but he's well yeah that's yeah you know actually I think because like he literally doesn't even have his powers yeah that's where I was like Black Panthers

already hasn't he hasn't met his origin yet and I believe it's Winter Soldier where they're going down the list of people that Hydra's worried about they say Stephen Strange even though you shouldn't be worried about me the doctor at that point is a really good doctor but they know really good one though he they they know in the future and like I don't think anything else needs to be said about Spider-Man other than good job I was telling you about this I'm not sure if you guys know maybe Willie knows but pound for pound my actual favorite hero is Spider-Man and I kind of downplay it because there hasn't been that much to be excited about him in like a while either in movies games or like you know it's just Spider-Verse and all that's my verse stuff is cool but

that when I was watching this I'm like okay I I watched things like Lenny where I'm like painting my fingers and I'm waiting for my Oscar right I'm painting my fingers and I'm waiting for my Oscar and I'm just looking at your Spider-Man going okay how do I do you have like how is your okay impress me within one second I like him yeah because he's kind of weird looking kid he's not too hot like Andrew Garfield he's not as weird looking as Toby McGuire kind of see this in the face area I think the thing I liked the most about him was he didn't dominate the movie yeah because because Spider-Man if I'm not mistaken right about like the number one grossing superhero not just in terms of film but also merchandise Spider-Man's pretty big and

I'm pretty sure he dominates so hard that he's bigger than the next couple down like totaling so for him Spider-Man Spider-Man Batman Superman yeah in that order so for him to have like not a bit part but like barely not not a bunch more than a less than Black Panther understated role yeah a bit more than Bushwacker yeah but like he wasn't he didn't even like super win by the end he was just kind of in the fight like not even that he was just like I'm done I guess yeah he was really good for his part though like he fit perfectly and I really like to go to my own movie yeah bye bye so the thing about Black Panther and how perfect and unflod he is and how he's just the oh my god is basically that's the thing about Black Panther he's Black Batman and he he's never

in a movie wait for the inhumans to introduce some other kind of push black black panther end 2019 or something I saw I saw some comments that this this may be the Marvel movie that set up the most future Marvel movies ever because it sets up it sets up spider-man obviously it's a black panther obviously but now there's a reason for trouble in Wakanda as a result of this that's up infinity war sets up the infinity war part one no problem and now that the Avengers are criminals and if Suicide Squad does well it sets up the Thunderbolts potentially it could it wouldn't be this alternatively it sets up the Thunderbolts to be the the B team that gets their shit annihilated in infinity war I feel like I feel like Marvel would go elsewhere before

they go to that okay I mean it's possible it's a possibility to be really cool actually because like yeah those characters I would love well I would love to see a B team in infinity war that exists to be murdered you know what they could new warriors then they could set up they could set up gonna be there so sharing the universe they could set up Harry Osborne taking up the remnants of shield and starting that up well because that's the thing if you're gonna go if you're gonna go down a route like yeah you still have the Osborne's in yeah well I just want to also say I also played hang on I wanted to talk he had more sorry I'm sorry stolen from him yeah on on X-Men like I think the X-Men are my favorite collective like superhero bunch but like I was talking to a

friend and I think at this point in the MCU like I would rather the X-Men just not be introduced into it because the moment you introduce the X-Men you're not introducing Wolverine you're introducing 10 characters I got good news for you Liam no I know no I know and I love the X-Men and I don't like Fox's movies as much yeah but like I think at this point the MCU has like 30 characters now a larger issue is the Spider-Man problem it's that if you introduce the X-Men at this point it becomes why haven't mutants ever been mentioned in the history of this fucking universe ever well but also like how many X-Men movies you have to make to cover the characters they just announced another one today yeah they said the next one will take place in the 90s great

because the Fox that's when I like to best don't know that's actually what I like it's gonna take it's gonna take a lot more than what Sony did with Spider-Man for Fox to come because like that's what I also mean is like I think it's yeah like the MCU is in such a good place I think the X-Men would like actually muddy it I mean there's so many they pulled out of the tailspin the nose last two movies plus Deadpool and and Marvel has actively started you know getting rid of mutants right so like I mean gifted people wasn't one of their last two movies fantastic for though yeah yeah okay but I mean Deadpool and the future past and first class yeah yeah first class is great yeah you know we're not shitbag movies there were good movies and if if they got if those were

today that like I believe Infinity War will have Captain Marvel in it to set up her yeah cuz she's getting a movie yeah I hope it's the good one I hope it's the good one too yeah I played speedrunners I finally sat down and I have seen that game what's what's that about it's really good everyone looks like the Escher and Skrull okay it's like bingo take the fun stuff about rascals mm-hmm and make it so that the way you die slash and is not by crossing the finish line it's by having your opponent fall out of the screen because you're too fast you're too fast it's what every Sonic vs. game should have right it's what even even Mario games to some degree could have been as well because you're just doing this you're on a course and you're like you know controlling

it like meat boy or and you're on a racetrack it loops around like it's not yeah it's not just a straight level yeah yeah well it's on a looping course yes and you have the you you're picking up some items and you're and you're jumping off walls and you're using a grappling hook and a couple other basic abilities like sliding and double jumping but you just are trying to make it to the front of the screen and control the camera push and as and if you're doing it successfully and everything is you're just going coming up millhouse you're the other people you're racing are like fucking up and hitting walls and slowing down until they get squashed out of the screen and then that's when the race stops you get a point and then you and you start again okay and

just doing that like two players like local is a ton of fun because it gets so close at times and when the race goes on too long and there's no like headway being given left or right the borders of the screen tart to start to shrink in but you're occupying the same amount of space on the screen so basically whoever is lagging has less space to catch up in and it gets like bomber man sort of like time is almost up super fun highly recommended it's the default Dan a video game we've seen it everywhere I've seen it a million yeah but no after after touching it it's so fun and like yeah I gotta play that with four or more players and enjoy and see what that's like for sure and I also sat down to try to erase the sun which is a kind of minimalist artsy sort of game

you drive into an infinite distance the stages are kind of generated and on procedurally they're procedurally generated and come at one after the other and the whole game is if you're exposed to the Sun your vehicle has energy and you can move and you have to stay in the sunlight to keep going and approach your destination before the Sun goes down and okay and if the Sun goes down you're out of energy your solar powered vehicle can no longer move in your debt so it's a cool you know like you're racing against the Sun and you can get certain power-ups to put the Sun higher back up into the sky that's cool can you put clouds in front of the sun no but like and then there's other things where it's like you have a jump but you it's not a jump it's like a power-up you get

that lets you jump once and avoid all these obstacles super huge cheat because like the main thing is you're dodging obstacles yes forward exactly and it's and there's a bunch of bullshit it's really bullshit it gets really hard and I feel like it's a little unfinished in some ways a lot of the it's just it's just so small there's just not much there there's a lot there's a lot enjoyable yeah there's a lot missing and I feel like it definitely yeah there's not much there but what is there for that sort of quick replay feeling is it's pretty fun it's an original idea and worth taking a peek if the trailer catches your attention I'd say so that's me oh did we do that leaves you Pat oh well I played overwatch did you watch Civil War and I watched

titles ever the great title it is such an amazing title that's it's it's smart it's smart there wasn't just a battlefield at the beginning it was 1942 never there was never a game called battlefield was the year it'll still be confusing when future it went it went 19 far from now what not now 1942 then to yeah 2142 so on and then Vietnam and then the bad companies somewhere somewhere in the future someone's gonna play like Bionic Commando 2009 and then play like to or Ninja Gaiden and then go back to Ninja Gaiden to on the next and go what what happened did there did their society collapse between see the dates on no no it's that far in the future it looks really cool I looks really I was really excited for the announcement thing

fuck it yeah let's go to that one old cool time period that everyone says you could never make a good game out of because the guns are shitty and let's go there because World War one has a lot of really cool art and design cavalry and and trenches and the weird part about World War one is that like well you're almost right there to a to a degree willie it's like World War one still had cavalry armies yeah like like at first there there there is one of the first movies ever and it's tanks versus dudes on horses yeah and it's a it's fucking weird and dudes on horses just crushed it no yeah they total stomp stomped all over those ever seen a tank high tail it and you know it's like yeah your horses you're going back to the past all that but it's a genuine like

World War one is a genuinely new setting and I feel like most people aren't aware of how different it is in a setting sense from World War two and like you know poison gas alone there's a big gap it was 30 years like huge the trailer like a hundred years of technology and the trailer assumes that you probably don't and goes above and beyond yeah setting up like here's all you here's all a bunch of weird World War one stuff different you aren't aware of yeah there'll be one or two levels that are in the trenches and then I seriously doubt like the rest of the game will have anything the trenches and the battle in the trenches will probably be the psalm because it's the worst battle ever it's the worst battle that ever was except for the one with the wizards

fan base arcade mode stuff like that that was bad and that hurt them sales wise but the word of mouth and could the new character roll out and stuff like that it's it's it's working it's a different market to and also they're gonna make like for Capcom's well-being in the future Street Fighter like they're gonna make some bank off these characters once they start actually charging for the exact thing so like they're the whatever like the revenue stream in this game is very different like cuz the word the worry for us and people who care is like if the sales were bad enough you'd worry about season 2 right you worry about if season 2 would happen of you know it's a new set of characters or support there is no worry these are good no this is I always thought they should

a fun bunch of villains it's a bunch of old guys like and creepy lady and creepy lady I need to see these old guys so this is the trailer for it it there looks like some really cool combat systems that they've put in place I really like the class system it actually leads up to like a bit of an anime kind of fight exchange and then they were like character specific cross-counter yeah exactly and they look really cool thing with it is though when you look at it like the sprites are original but a lot of the hit-sparks sounds and in fact the entire bits you can see total bits of basic Mugen and basic King of Fighters effects as well that are just taken from probably just Mugen footage they're showing anyway right well they're showing me good footage for sure oh yeah a hundred

percent you have it right so I was already like I'm watching this and then before I read anything I was like ah come on and then you read the breakdown it's like okay they're working with a leg bite which is like that's cool although kind of fuck you a leg bite for what you did but still it's nice that they're involved and they're working to pull it onto a different engine and make it their own thing so you're not just asking for 87k for a Mugen game that's your goddamn were you just old man they're not marketable at all let your wrist like man and slightly more lecherous old man slightly I don't think the game looks bad but I've I'm no interest in it yeah so I just kind of there's his lechery yeah so I look at it and I'm just you know hoping that what your aim

style for him's got a strong point willy fair enough but I will say that the art style that you see for the characters and the concept art is really interesting but not represented in the sprites in the way that I'd like it to be it'd be really cool if the art style that you have for your character designer was more what we got and there's a couple of moments where I'm like that looks like it's a Street Fighter alpha kind of honestly when I look at the sprites I get the feeling that the sprites were made first and that the character art was made second that's a weird point that doesn't make any sense but it does I get that feeling right like especially that second guy was like extra-letcherous like I feel like the sprite was modified out of something else and then
