bring it up well that would be because if you've ever had the pleasure of witnessing a perfect game of snooker that's called a maximum break a break every ball is sunk into the correct on the on the pitch and then the sea subsequent balls are all in in perfect sequence right this maximum break gives you 147 points and is that's crazy as a 1 4 see now you're coming up with good facts that's a really good one this that's what I want to hear on shit also that's a good one if you pretend to say it in Japanese like a cabin writer it sounds maximum break yeah that's great that's that's probably one of the most

interesting thing about pool I've ever heard or snooker for that man yeah I think the most interesting thing about pools how drunk those British guys get during their trick shot competitions yeah and there's always always who die in the world tour yeah I always get disappointed whenever I see this one ps2 game when we go to like you know whatever mom and pop places or cons and it's just Detroit Street hustler and I was like oh my god this is going to be it's really just it's just pull like hustle Kings on PSN that's another one it's not I never realized until we used to have a place called the the center

deloiser which is the leisure center back near where I used to live and it was a community center go there play games that's where I first witnessed the birth of my Tetris attack love by getting beasted on and it's where I saw like the cool kids learning the gamble we're doing all their hustle exactly right and once you became an amateur pool hustler you'd step up to the snooker table where like these 16 year olds were and I wouldn't stand a fucking chance and like all meet like me and my friends who'd think like yeah we're good enough to pull we can step up you didn't realize that the main difference is not the size of

the table or the ball or even the cues how you use your stick it's that the corner of the pockets are not tethered are tapered off they're not as a light allow the ball in yeah they're sharp corners yeah which means you'll bounce right the fuck off shy of a perfect shot yeah what do you have like like three millimeters of clearance or some stupid shit not more than that but it's tight yeah not it is stupid that game is hard used to bullseye swamp rats back home this can be so hard yeah you should try spinning the ball that's a good trick there you go yeah oh what are you guys up to okay how many people the entire

week is just overwatch I wish it was I had a video I had a video I had a video failed to upload without noticing because I was playing overwatch the latest Zelda just didn't go up on the website because I was playing overwatch I fixed it this morning that is that is the most honest of all of our fuck ups we have ever made just like I thought because I thought it finished I was and then it didn't I was and overwatch probably killed your upload to yeah isn't it just a pure video game experience it is fun yeah it is it is the simplest like pure like I was I was explaining to my girlfriend like well what's the big deal

it's like well it's a six-on-six multiplayer shooter with like five maps I don't know a bunch of characters she goes like TF2 I'm like yeah but with wife but in this one you get to buy 310 boxes yes that's accurate it will in that conversation that I that I had with the girlfriend like we I then followed it up with okay no wait but look at the hero gallery and then it was like oh yeah the exact same thing happened the exact I'm so glad in the Conan Clueless Gamer where he had Peter Dinklage and Lena Headley from from Game of Thrones that they looked at the hero gallery first yeah just cuz it's a good yeah I'm here to

show exactly get hype over characters you didn't know existed hands those shows up and she's like it's Jason Momoa and it's like yeah a little bit a little bit and really get that at first okay okay game is so good so so so god damn good how how good how much of your life lost good how well what's the what's the box count the box 110 billion dollars spent we could we could look at my still didn't go at my house so we could look at my fucking emails on the on the TV and just see like the long like the entire entire page of blizzard updates where it's like hey well thanks for purchasing your watch boxes what I'm the most

interested in finding out right now is does the first email say thanks for purchasing one box and then does it say thanks for purchasing 10 no this is a 50 here's the way the final evil says thanks Moby dick so so most of this damage occurred while I was talking to cranky on discord along with my my raid buddies and the like the whole night we're playing overwatch I'm like man I really want to buy 50 boxes I really just want to say fuck it and just buy 50 boxes and everyone's like Pat don't buy 50 boxes cranky's like listen Pat Pat Pat yes cranky don't buy 50 boxes buy 24 boxes and then you'll be done forever and

I go okay thanks and then I bought 24 boxes and I was like man that was a lot of fun I want to buy 50 and then another guy in my raid group goes I just bought 50 boxes and then I bought 50 boxes and that was a lot of fun but that's not the problem that's not the part where you did it five more the problem isn't that that's like that's fine whatever I had a lot of fun doing it the problem was when I went to bed and the very first thing I thought of the next morning was boxes I want to open 50 wow and at 9 21 a.m. I came over to this couch sat down and opened 200 more boxes so what's your playtime in the

unboxing versus the shooter unboxing total must be like an hour tops do you have like because you start clicking it faster do you have them all or not I have everything that I want okay okay so I bought 50 boxes that's there I straight up I'm like yep let's go and I'll tell you what the seal breaking was the problem for me so here's the funny thing is because here's the things are you doing it with you're using your mouse and keyboard so you just yes I am playing if you play with the controller doesn't have a fucking rumble it rumbles as it opens up goes so the extra layer sprinkle the extra sprinkles right there

for you so did you get what did you do anything particular I got I opened it up and like three in I got my fucking chocking girl Guren like and the red one the black one the right black good the red the right the green like and Reinhardt and I was like I'm that's all I wanted yeah I'm done so you didn't open any of the others no I opened them but I was like who cares here's here's the main thing was I I built up a lot of points over the demo and I got enough to get my green thing and I had extras but I was like I want to go again yeah and I and then I just I was like I'll buy a 50 and I'll get the money to buy it and then

I just got it in the role so I was like well I have nothing else here that I care about so so for me it's like I originally didn't care about almost anything for any of the characters other than like the two or three that I play and then like as you play more games I'm like oh actually I really like to play as Lucio oh I really like to play as Farrah is it is not Lucio I think it's Lucio I don't know anyway anyway no one knows I will really like to play as you really okay I really like to play as Joker at I really like to play as right you know etc etc and then you hit a point where you're like I'm happy with

anything that I fucking get okay and then there's the danger okay and so when you open that many boxes you you get to stare at that animation enough times and you get to see all the bullshit little visual like tricks they're using to fuck with you so gold is the epic one gold is always the expensive skins right for about 10 frames before the box explodes you see all the discs are gold inside the box before they fly out right right and when they do fly up you see the color trail you see the color trails but then they land in inaccurate positions a hundred percent you often think oh my god I get two gold and then oh you lands you get

your result but the simple act of that tease every time every time sprinkle yeah and the dark path is when you you're you you opened up 150 boxes and now you don't even want skins to drop because you already have so many skins now you just want like duplicate icons and poses to drop more money so that you can just buy the May skin so you like oh yeah I mean for me it's a lot simpler because I only really care about Reinhart and Zarya yeah I you will care about more characters over time and the nature of it is and the problem that started is the natural opening of like 24 boxes over the course of the thing you get I got

like a like the the black and the blue sorry the red and white skin for Pharah right the really good one and I go well I never play Pharah but I guess I should try her out try your skin out yeah okay and then I'm like oh I really like Pharah and then I got like the Dick Tracy skin for McCree I'm like oh and it's it's oh it's a dark path whatever I'm sitting on lots of currency now for whenever they add more skins I kind of I feel that even more I think of I forget the last time we talked about it might have been KI when we were talking about the KI skins but it's just like if your thing is you've got the whole game there and

you're just selling cosmetics because that's what you're gonna do and we like those cosmetics yeah I will do it yeah I'm in I have no problem a cosmetic prostitute no problem with that and I am really happy with my Reinhart looking like I feel good I am really happy with all of I would do it again I don't feel bad I don't care I'll fight anyone yeah the game is pretty good I guess to the game when you're not opening boxes is pretty good when you're not opening boxes so who you playing as right now I can I can like Liam's eyes are just like well like I've got nothing to say like I opened up Lucio's hockey outfit and I

was like this is good I like this one's like one of the best the entire day you enjoy do you enjoy support or do you like going yeah cementure is my favorite the teleporters are so useful yeah and I love I love finding all the little narrow like crannies to jam the teleport are the turrets in I can't believe how much damage they do if you get hit by all seven really good dude if you get hit by all seven you're fucking dead you're fucking dead in an instant yeah I like playing as her a lot Mercy's Mercy's way too fun her flight ability is amazing as long as you've got a team who's kind of like aware of that you can get away from

anything yeah somebody always has to be above you have been we're just like in a little far enough yeah she pairs really well like junk rat I find have you guys tried the ridiculous arcade mode at all yeah it's a fucking mess it's like I looked at the rules and I said no you know I have no dude it's so goofball it's Marvel and I'm like this is stupid some characters get super nerfed by the increased damage like Genji becomes worthless well and likewise certain characters sword takes like five hits to kill people so I'm walking with right heart and I'm like I have 4,000 points worth of shield damage what come

the fuck at me bro there aren't even bosses in this game and you found the boss that's there they just didn't know that they're bosses yeah the bashing salt is so real it is it's so real the counters are real too no but I mean like every game every gift every oh yeah and I know they're hilarious it's like it's hilarious it's kind of weird cuz like there's no hero that I have like particular trouble with because you just pick a counter but video of the bastion sitting on the moving platform that's going really fast and he just does that the whole game and just straight up oh you meet your critical

video unbelievable that was great I fucking love you really want to piss people off put Torbjorn sturt bastion and Reinhardt on the payload on the same okay yeah yeah so no you know it's put some metrics turrets on the back but symmetric teleporter under them on the payload oh my god so strong you just have Reinhardt defend the teleporter that's all you do yeah like so it's so part of the part of the adventure this week I mean we're gonna get into stuff in detail but we were walking through momocon matinee and like just on this the topic for that matter and like I got those glowy green shades that I

picked up at the dealer's room that someone made for woolly they're like one point a black man with dreads will want these and I'll wait until he shows up oh there he is he's right there it's right it's like the last blade to swords maker it's like he died putting his soul into these shades yeah and Matt had of course the skull beanie that turns into the mask and like a punisher shirt so we're just walking down across the skybridge and like a girl stops and goes hey and we're like oh hey yeah like let's say hi to the fan he's like are you guys overwatch and we look at each other like yes we are so lazy

overwatch cosplay welcome to the ghetto overwatch by accident yeah now you can say it's by accident but if someone in it like actually means it it could be very strong super turn into that and that's how we opened up yeah that's good good gag still stuff on the overwatch train if I'm not sure if you guys saw but like I wrote a tweet because I was just walking down the hallways and Matt Mercer comes running down the hallway holding a holding his like carry on like he's going to make his flight and I hope he I hope he made it because it was probably at high noon this this this okay Matt Mercer is the

bother to boot up the game because I was too busy torturing myself with TMNT by platinum have you did you play multiplayer at all no it did not if you're gonna go back to that game which I played it I doubt I played it all the way that game gets significantly better even just playing with randoms it is it is seriously a lot better just playing with random okay so just don't even do that switchoff single player maybe play the first and second mission to get the gist of why the single player is not worth your time it's a lot better with randoms it's still probably their worst game so but it is night and day I'll

agree that it's by far I think platinum is weakest game I've I've ever experienced I never played you know infinite space and they barely really made it when I did search for online people on other ps4 version I found no one that's odd okay well I yeah this is in the middle of the afternoon and on launch but when you launch your game on overwatch day maybe not a lot of my people might be playing perhaps yeah my free company is empty right now as it is just like just hanging a sign on the door it's like overwatch time but I don't know it's at the overwatch spray I did the first like two major missions like

the bebop one I did the second one and then I was I putzed around in the in the empty overworld for a little bit more and I was like okay I know I'm gonna do something else so I did and it really sucks because if you guys remember I was bitching and moaning about how bad I wanted this game I wanted the trailers I want to see it now now now and now it's just like this heaping well you got to have the exact same like pre-release reaction to two games one was doom one was this yeah and then you got the completely ass and X ends of the spectrum on both one in one the single players fantastic multiplayer is all

right sure yes if you I it's not for me but I'm sure it's good and then there's doom complete well there's the complete opposite on the Ninja Turtles well I like I like the way you put it when you're like it's like you're looking at this game and then for a second you're like how should I judge this should it be judged as a platinum game or as a Ninja Turtles game because it's like a bar movie game it's like a button masher beat them up and it's a little bit of platinum but it's neither really like I find the problem with Ninja Turtles games every time is their hamstrung because they got to be four player co-op

or else it's got to have some but I'd rather it be single player and be a better game and just it's all that's always what hamstrings the new Ninja Turtles games is they got to be multiplayer one that's different is TMNT on the GBA remember we played that yeah only single player yeah and it's an incredible Ninja Turtle game but people are like but what's weird about that game is that there's all this extra space in the bottom part of the screen where a second turtle I think there's system link I don't remember but like that game was was like one of the best TMNT games yeah I mean if you look at

how Transformers just like you they're a team but you switched off as you got to their chapters that could work for Turtles too no I would have really preferred had they just gone the single player route but it's hard to say whether they were you know so impassioned about doing it multiplayer or whether that was maybe something they had to do or maybe they wanted to try something a little bit different from the usual yeah but I also think like outside of the comfort zone I also think like fans would abjectly refuse a Turtles game that wasn't multiplayer you know and I think that's a bummer

I think maybe that's just me but like all I'm seeing no you're completely right I totally agree I think talked about this a little bit before but out of the shadows the old XBLA PSN game yeah not the new movie not the new movie was it had a big single-player mode that you can play in single-player and then you could have an on one online buddy join you or you have that additional arcade mode that we played where it puts all four Turtles that's a lot of work I admittedly yeah you're making two different games basically making two different games but like Platinum works fast like on yeah maybe the mantra was

not to waste time with that stuff on paper the idea of like controlling a turtle like Dante and d-pad switching styles to switch Turtles and combo crazy go combo crazy sounds like a wacky fun idea but if you don't have enough time you know and I don't know if every damage is every damage I don't know if every boss is a damage sponge yeah they all are even Karai who's just a strong girl like she's not a giant rhino or anything she's a very strong woman but that's all human because that would be awesome if it was just Karai then why not for that boss which more to a Platinum kind of character action style

and not the blood why not mix it up yeah actually be better I'd rather have bullet sponges damage sponges then Platinum boss then yeah the fact that there's no missions where you can play as solo as a turtle like they kind of have to keep the enemy health high because when you have four good players online bosses just wouldn't stand a chance if they had regular health they would like vanish in a fucking instant yeah I mean I think that's the balance I said I don't think it's good I don't like how they're damaged sponges but with four players it's hard sorry my cut but I don't see how they could have

balanced it otherwise for four players without the enemies just vanishing instantly if they had you know regular character action attributes you know that's why putting all your turtles in a one basket into one mode and it completely relies on this balance the entire way through is like that's why like ultimately maybe making two sort of modes or two things like might have been the better choice because if this one thing falls apart like the rest of it kind of falls apart if you're playing in single player you're playing with players yeah very good certainly if they would have like I mean if they would

have went and made like single player missions as well where you get to pick whichever turtle you want that would have been those missions would probably be just fine actually but like they'd also like really contrast with the multiplayer objectives that usually require you to have multiple turtles you know three turtles have to protect the other guy doing something else or like that's most of the mission like Donna just doing his hands for 30 seconds doing something to the bombs yeah so the quick chat that you and I had Liam about this game before like we kind of were talking about the idea of platinum

continuing to make these like these license license properties exactly and Cora and Transformers were better than this game is apparently good you know they're certainly not like on the level of the platinum originals but I think Transformers gets there like up there with anarchy like with that okay yeah that sounds fair but what I'm but what we basically looked at we said what was different here it was that Ninja Turtles was coinciding with a movie release date yeah and it was time to come out with June 8th right I think that and the multi-cora was done at the time that that game came out and optimum the

and the prime wars was happening as a Transformers that was like but that's a year-long Transformers is like constantly beginning and ending yeah so both of those games were licensed properties that had no specific cutoff points to hit unlike unlike Ninja Turtles and that's definitely seems like it had to hit the movie date otherwise so crazy coincidence I still find it so confusing that the other Turtles game was yeah out of the shadows to be released for the first movie yeah the second movie is called out of the shadows let's just snatch that name as a good one you want to call it out of the shadows too because out of

the shadows didn't get it yeah we had in that same conversation we had a little who's on first moment you know of like out of the shadows yeah no out of the shadows anyway I remember that yeah but yeah that's it so it's like if they're if they're gonna continue to work with Activision hopefully they're not getting stuck with things that have to come out on this movie's cutoff date I definitely think like yeah the date combined with the whoever it was who really wanted to do the multiplayer I think that was the problem because I really think you could strip this game of its multiplayer and and sort of redesign the levels a little

bit wasn't Platinum's idea you'd be fine to charge $60 for a game that you can beat in two hours I mean yeah sure like that I'm just saying that you know actually it's funny because we we saw those people saying two hours but I can test that you can't beat this game in two hours if you're playing on normal you didn't say what difficult no I played through on normal and you're not beating this game in two hours like what would you ballpark it at completion on average like four plus like the same ballpark is Cora and transfer shorter than Transformers that one was a bit longer but same ballpark is Cora not

that it makes a huge difference between two and four but yeah like proportionally it sure does right proportionally yeah Cora was Cora was 20 bucks Transformers was 50 or 40 on last gen and Turtles was 60 or 50 on last gen and now the next movie game will be even worse and will cost a hundred yeah gotta be a licensed people care about fast enough furious that I would play fast and furious GI Joe versus Rambo now that's no I Joe Transformers honestly I would want them to do Transformers again yeah yeah yeah why isn't Prime Wars like ongoing or something it's like phase two and yes a year long of it no

beast machines all Beast Wars would be great that would be a really real quickly aside from Turtles I watched the first episode of Preacher on from AMC I bought the season pass to watch it I'm a big fan so is so is Willie of Preacher the comic book series it's one of the greats that article the article's sorry to cut you know I was just like article you sent me said this is gonna be your favorite new show here's why is that the case it's it's one of the most interesting things because I know that I know that at least the the first couple arcs of comic very well and this completely throws a lot of things out

the window not drastically like not big points but this character will be introduced in this completely different way this character has this added back story but the characters themselves remain true to whatever and and the acting on this thing is phenomenal but this first episode is weird it has a weird pace it has weird editing and has this weird sense of humor because it's made by by Seth Rogen and his partner Evan Goldberg that that made like super bad and everything right preacher itself is weird it's weird but this is like weird or I'm like I is this what am I supposed to laugh because there are some

parts that laugh in the first three seconds there's something so horrifying but so sudden that I laugh went oh okay so as it goes on I started okay way I'm kind of getting into it I kind of see this is getting interesting and it does things in a really really neat way so if you know the comic it's like I think people would like this but there's enough different that you can be like surprised at stuff okay so I'm really interested to watch the rest of it and like the acting like I said was really good the guy that plays Jesse is the dude that plays Howard Stark the old Howard Stark from from like the early

Captain America movies and all that do you think that the fact that people just experienced the purple man is gonna take away from the series a little bit you asked me this a little while ago and my answer is kind of the same where I'm like I think Jesse's the the word of God is way more powerful and cooler than the purple man and wait what what does it do it it lets it makes a person absolutely do whatever but it has no range it is it is well it will happen it doesn't wear off yeah it's not really a spoiler but the basic premise of preacher that you going in is that the power of the guy has is the ability to say a thing and make

it so that's why he's called preacher not not it's not he was a preacher beforehand well it makes I mean it makes sense yes of course I actually didn't know that until recently and when I heard that I was like oh that's the hero it all makes sense yeah yeah it's a really good what is he supposed to fucking fight it's a really good comic so I really enjoyed that what yeah what possible problem I don't know Pat maybe you should have read the preacher comics I gave you three years ago I gave those back to you right yeah you did okay the forces of heaven and hell and everything in between okay yeah I also got four

episodes down of lucha underground I won't go on and on but there's something being kept in the basement in a cage no one knows what it is I bet it's a wrestler it's we it's unclear I don't think so it might be an eldritch thing or am I not I bet that eldritch thing will take the form of a wrestler in that thing in a cage is not the same as the man called cage no the man called cage is completely a bloke named cage a different guy so the man called cage I'm this is still season one season one's quite old now but just let you guys know the man called cage says I have a new move it's called the weapon X and he

didn't get to show it off and he's like next week the weapon X exclusively just hyping up DLC for this show it's so good it's so good and there is a promo for a guy that's returning I'm not gonna say because we want to know but they show the promo and I just marked out at his promo and his promo is against the the promoter Dario okay but the promo has camera shots and special effects who paid for the promo Dario did his own his own much slinging ad it's amazing and like the last kind of thing it is I put some time into a gargoss I think he's really really awesome because I never really liked Aria as a boss because she

was weird and unbalanced and I very difficult to use and dark and gargoss is just do you remember what he's classified as a boss character he has classified as a long range poking character zoning zoning with close range grapples and has air superiority yeah that's great I really love his like dimension punches or whatever they are portal punch yeah they're really cool and like his last yeah this last aura or aura where it gets everyone bounces in between all the different punches and then gets slammed on the ground and then you can do his grapple and then do a million things from it like

he's so versatile and when I was watching the stream where Keats kind of unveiled them I was like okay that's pretty cool and I was kind of turning away and they're like also you can summon guys yeah attack quickly have different AI behaviors the game and put minions in it okay I'm hacking the game yeah I just slams I put the minions in here we go and the minions are so fun just cuz they're so basic and it's kind of a goofy thing there are really nice to I love their design yeah they're really they're like they're like cute they're kind of cute in there yeah they remind me of like Disney demons but

when you use that full strength like they're a problem they're vicious yeah yeah yeah so I had really fun and you know going a little bit whoa okay technical difficulties on this podcast fucking power just went out my apartment we're back though it's fine I called my landlady and she's like oh I don't know about that and she's like oh no he's he's on to it he's on to it turn the power shut off the auto bloke yeah shut off our auto bloke it's fine can't keep siphoning his power yeah no it takes a lot it takes the entire grid to power everyone's auto boy he met as you were saying as I was saying going a bit on

the overwatch talk yeah just settle down and just buy a couple of Gargoyle accessories like and ones I probably could have grinded for but I saw you got your beautiful Hisako finally oh yeah I did I finally got my love congrats that's like the first max level of anything I've ever done so I bought a couple of Gargoyle accessories just to get me started and it that's one of those purchases where I'm like okay no I'm get this one that's it I can't go nuts I can't go further but yeah it's an investment that your girlfriend's phone was under the ass pillow you provided she couldn't find it this morning so I'm

glad you found it in your ass you put it there it was under the ass pillow it's okay I didn't plant any bombs on it you should be fine little baby bombs I could have though it was in a danger zone it could have got real all right there you go the Gargoyle that's what you get for doing a mistake yeah the Gargoyle final color 10 is the sickest shit I haven't seen it yeah it's black and green it's but it's actually the best but it's cool do you know what looks like Liam it looks like that final costume in No More Heroes 2 the black and green like cyberpunk yeah I remember that one the boss of War Gods does it look like a

razor product it does I really don't like razor it does look like a razor product motherfucker you almost ruined it for hardcore gamers like us so yeah there you go um goddamn okay okay well I'm gonna I'm gonna take it you should turn I'm gonna I'm gonna talk about Ninja Turtles again I'm gonna bring it right back because I did play it for I don't know somewhere between like five and six hours I played a bit past the end of the game just to replay like one of the early missions that's actually like the most enjoyable mission the first one because the city's just fun to traverse unlike like the tower

going up and down the building not the buildings the city from street level to rooftop was cool yeah it's enjoyable that the level with Karai is like not nearly as fun where you have to like fly between buildings and stuff it's kind of slow and just plotting as opposed to grinding on rails and wall running and stuff that game so like transformers still even though it was a licensed one it still had like relatively like deep move set right yeah go into it and you could do a lot turtles is way shallower in terms of the move set and all the turtles are relatively the same like in terms of their in terms of their actual

combos the tax they're all pretty much the same except for a few of their ability so you're not gonna believe this one guys I won't you'll never believe what I hate that stupid restaurant fuck super best friends hates it what what patches wants to give out what happened why is there a sudden jump in okay remember when I kind of screamed a little bit because our pet my power went out of my house like do it again about three minutes and 20 seconds into that recording when Liam was talking about turtles again power went out again so that's why the jump is about and that's when we're like well we obviously cannot

record at my house because the goddamn power keeps going out of random so we're five hours and 15 kilometers over yeah and now we're in Willie's place and we're gonna continue the podcast from here for it's like nothing probably 600 it's it's totally seamless totally seamless don't do not pay attention to the podcast behind the curtain totally party if you were here two minutes ago you'll recall that Liam was talking about the Ninja Turtles and how its combat is much shallower than say everything else so transformers and even in Korra like once you got all your all four of your groups of powers you

had quite a depth to what you could do in Ninja Turtles there's there's very little in that in terms of that depth but it's replaced with a huge breadth of stuff at any time you can fire like infinite projectiles you can use all the turtles special move yeah you have all their special moves no like funny inputs required you have like four solid defensive options at all times and your regular combos etc but they're always available to you there's nothing particularly complex about it and I think that it definitely suits a more pickup and play play style and I think for like a multiplayer game it kind of

makes sense to go for a more plain control style but it yeah I heard a huge butt coming when you were saying that but yeah it still doesn't address the problems it's a good it's a good design but it doesn't fix the the the glaring problems which is honestly mainly the bosses as far as I'm concerned it's a weird thing Korra and and transformers or franchises that also should not require a lot of input and like heavy input execution like whatever but they had it and like turtles like yay excuse younger and like but still I found like the parry like the go into your shell yeah parry thing to be harder than

revenge yes to reliably use the parry is not super reliable in this game basically when you hold one of the shoulder buttons you spin in your shell for a brief amount of time and you can hold it until the gauge runs out I one of the only platinum games where you can actually just block outright and if you get hit in that state you just like clash away and nothing happens to you but when you release it if something hits you when you're pulling out of your shell you'll parry and that timing is sounding you can't trust a parry well who can you trust we'll see what you what you can trust about it as as long as you

don't release way too early you'll just block the hit it is generous but it's just awkward but what you should try to do or rely on is it has a another mechanic with a similar input window as which time where if you if you press the guard slash dodge button right before an enemy swings three things in one button yeah it's sick it's actually like really cool but dodge or if you're holding it block if you're and if you release it you get a parry okay so when almost too much complication when compared to just the combos it is it is quite complex but they're all kind of good for their own thing when you do the

dodge thing what happens is you swing 180 degrees behind the enemy like in no more heroes when Travis slides around them and it's that same kind of thing and you can either just go into a combo now that the enemy is facing the other way or right when you do it if you press circle you'll hop on top of their head and start beating at their head and and they'll just like be struggling to get you off so all your buddies can attack no and they get a buff to their attack when you're doing with tight gameplay one defense button could be a cool thing yeah I could see that being interesting yeah and in the context of this game

those things make sense because like you want the block because the hits are like like especially the bosses swing really wide and they tend to hit everyone at once so having a block there is actually really good the guard slash or the guard the dodge slash like climb on on top really works out because it lets you buff every other player and their attacks and it also keeps them safe because they can't attack while you're on top of them and the parry is just a parry if you think you're good are you good enough you probably aren't it's hard to time it it's really hard to time it I always think this is one of those things where

they're trying to satisfy basic Ninja Turtle fans that just want to pick up and play thing also trying to satisfy a bit of Platinum fans usually when you do that you don't quite satisfy either I think I think you can validate it though like pressing the button to get a dodge is fair enough right and then holding the button to get a guard it's fair enough right so why not add an extra command when you release it doesn't take up your time I just mean in general the general gameplay when you land it on every character in boss do they all stagger yeah absolutely every every hit except project I don't know what it does to

projectiles but every hit a little stagger them if you manage to that's not like the the parry being a release is so weird in my head like is it as awkward as it sounds it's it is awkward but again the fortunate thing is that if you do it wrong you just guard that's it like well once you explain it like they have all three functions on the button then I'm thinking about it like startup frames active frames recovery yeah it's like three functions with three it's worth bearing in mind that the the getting out of guard doesn't interrupt you in any way and you could just immediately cancel it into attacks okay like it's not a

it's not like in Revengeance where Raiden will just go like you won't miss anything you know so it's it's kind of actually like pretty innocuous but it does especially in the tutorial where it's like now do the parry you're like this feels really weird to do with no like experience of how the game works but and the mission structure is pretty fun but the bosses and all the sewer levels are just yeah I didn't get to the sewer level but I saw a lot of people say like it's terrible yeah the the little chunk of Manhattan's really enjoyable just little buildings with grinding rails all over the place fun kind of felt like a

Tony Hawk yeah a little bit with the speed you're moving at yeah Karah's skyscrapers at least has its own thing going on even though it's not the most enjoyable but the sewers are nothing there's there's water that goes through and if it's going fast enough it pulls you along but that's not particularly enjoyable and you end up fighting a lot of enemies being pushed against invisible walls alongside them oh that sounds great and like the bet the worst bit about it is the camera holds up fine and it doesn't impede your control so it's actually not an issue but it just feels stupid I didn't do a

problem where my when I was in single player I know this is like a different set of problems is that my AI turtles would sometimes run so far ahead and kill foot soldiers before I got there yeah and sometimes not like the fact that you don't have control over them why couldn't be be where like you command them you can you can command them to specific things like you can get them to stay near you or go all out that's it yeah and there's another one that makes them go all out but not use their skills so they'll save them so you can save them for a boss fight or something like that but that's in the command that it's

in an overly complicated command menu that's like mostly for multiplayer so you can tell people non-verbally where to go what to do remember when the IGN footage came out and I think at that time I was only one had seen it I was like the AI is so messy and so busy with so many things rate like two different radial wheels coming up and again this is the UI yeah it is because if it's for a kid-friendly pick-up-and-play sort of thing that's like the exact opposite of what you'd want you want something a little like even even me that like you know like played Revengeance multiple times I was just like this is this this

makes it look more complicated than it is not did the UI is shit it's really Platinum's never been bad at UI I always find the UI design quite elegant they're basic with it they don't really try to do too much most of the time they keep it functional hey does it work great yeah done this UI is way messy like Matt's totally right on that I completely agree so one thing we were concerned about early on too was the a number of environment sets like how many were there I think like I think like five or six okay which there's nine missions so it's not so bad sewer is the one that you see the most unfortunately and it's

kind of shitty you're telling me that the worst level is the one you see the most often which is three times great so awesome it's not a lot but you do see it the most like the audience to be fair that's probably why it's so shitty is what you see the most to be to be fair when I think of Transformers all I'm thinking of is the city yeah Cybertronian looking architecture and the space portal and like that's it city yeah it's a it's a similar level of like stages like for Transformers it makes well it's weird because like in Korra there's a progression of you know there's a handful of different areas similar looking

environments but they're different yeah and they're actually different going the ice place in the town and the one the spirit world are all completely different from each other but like for example when you think of an old TMNT beat them up you constantly move from like city street to sewers to like on the sea yeah go in a building or like tourism time where you go into like different time periods this game is kind of the same thing but it I don't know because you're in New York it is called Mewinson Manhattan yeah when I look at the lineup of levels and like one of the older Konami ones like it's a pretty

similar kind of thing like in the Konami ones you do a lot of buildings and they're all just kind of buildings but I don't know there's something about this like I don't know they just come off as blanded might just have to do with the game not feeling amazing on the whole and it feels good moment to moment but then the bosses and some of the side missions just put a brick wall in your way and the other thing in general is that like I told I said earlier that the character models and everything has this nice like really good look to him and has this good amount of platinum style but it comes the environments like

everything doesn't look amazing but it still runs the arts solid yeah no bit you know I mean like every like revenge it looks better yeah right but like the fact that it still runs at 30 even on PC is like I all I meant that like yeah it has to you know support the co-op and stuff like that but if you're playing in single-player I don't get it why for that at least mode I don't know I don't like it might be that it was just like some weird unlocked mid-40s that they had it as they said but on PC there's no excuse no exactly I have to force that on PC like they should have done it but even like if I'm not mistaken the

Revengeance port still has like notable flaws it does but like those notable flaws are livable it's no dark souls one yeah right it's like I was reading a guy recently who said he was like falling through world and the Ray stuff going right in that is rare I have not seen any of that and I like looked up like yeah I played a good bit of it on at when I worked at Eidos I played on the PC there the great general gist is like there's a there's a few weird resolution things and it doesn't go at up to like 144 hertz how was Transformers on PC I'm not yeah I didn't touch it I went through PC no problem the only goofy

over no problems anywhere good and on the vita surprisingly even though the ps4 one was initially all over the place the vita's frame rates really good uh for good like they genuinely did it assets i imagine oh yeah okay good because that's that who cares like it's like it's a performance that matters yeah no totally uh good they surprisingly are making the open world totally work on the vita keep fighting monster hunter everybody keep fighting it you're gonna only make it stronger and everyone wins pretty much exactly like like what's the negative here you get two great games instead yeah or actually more yeah more than two they they made the the claw work a little bit better on the ps4 because it had some like targeting issues where you'd aim at something but you'd

like it tags something else instead but they improved it a bit and i was really surprised because on the vita i think it's you'll hate it you would hate it and i'd never recommend it to you i'm got a big smile on the face but i think it's actually better on the vita version because you just touch and it just it it grabs that thing right away i can see the argument for that but i absolutely can't know exactly on ps4 you have to hold a button and aim it well because for me right you know what happens when i touch my vita screen you have to clean it i touch it and then i clean it i have to clean it i have to clean it but uh i have to clean it now because i'm thinking about it yeah no i get i get you on that too i clean the screen all the time but uh basically yeah it's

the either you aim on the ps4 version or you just tap so i think it's better but yeah who knows uh it's like like well that the game you're right that is an objectively better way to control this just faster it is faster yeah so i wonder if they would actually alter it very slightly maybe i think the games are compatible like i think you can so they know so probably so they should then balance around the slower uh ps4 version and just have the vita people have a slightly easier time yeah exactly it's not as uh crucial as in freedom wars anyway it's the primary exactly and this it's really a secondary mechanic and they added like some cool stuff to it like bosses will have this this move or they'll have a big tell with a red aura and if you get them with

it on that your character just yanks them to the ground and smashes them into the floor and gives you a good stun opportunity but uh yeah just uh really good improvements considering in japan it's coming out in july i think but here it's not announced yet i mean it'll it will because it's tecmo but you know it's like if they were in direct competition with like monster hunter x yeah like it's it's more ambitious than monster hunter x's oh the open world is really impressive and like i played around a bit more in the open world and like you look at the map and there are exclamation marks and you go to them and there's a guy there who's like hey yo my tree's corrupted go and you go to the tree and you do your like uncorruption thing and then like a big oni comes out of it

the weirdly weird art style yeah okay so this he's hanging out with this kid that's like a like this way younger than him and he's like super obsessed with like secretive nym and red wall and those kinds of show those are great right little mouse and animal adventures i love those as a kid so so like he so clarence is hanging out with him he's like okay whatever we'll order pizza and do our thing and the kid's super weird and like he's trying to like see it through his eyes he's trying to enact out like these little stories in his head and stuff so it like it hits a point where like he clarence can't find him and he's like he looks he looks he's like are you in this room over here and he's like peeking in and like you see like and then basically the kid is in like

the garage and like he's with his animal friends and like you see like a like a lizard that's like singing with a cape like a full duke outfit and i'm a little squirrel that's got like a little motherly like a hood and stuff and like and all these like little like disney animals having this amazing musical adventure and they're and clarence just looking in on it and they're like they're rejoicing because they're like juggling sausages and tomatoes and a feast for all of us our children will die in tonight you know and they're dancing on like the cheese that's being cut and rolled and stuff you know and like the kids don't like you the kids like amongst them too and having fun and then clarence is like what the fuck's going on in here kind of thing and he opens the door and you

just see the kid in his diapers rolling in a pizza and bats and squirrels and actual bugs just freaking out and roll is that they're like an owl there's a pigeon and like a couple of insects and they're all just rotting on his body and like flickering and hitting the walls and freaking out and clarence's like oh my god oh my god no like and then like later on uh like when like clarence like like goes to bed and he's like you can't do that it's not cool get these fucking animals out of my house you know whatever and like and he gets they all go to bed and then the kid sneaks down and then they get into this whole like uh burn the witch kind of musical moment kind of thing and so he's like yeah we have to attack clarence we have to stop him he's the the guy and so they go

they have this amazing mounted like march where they're flying on the pigeon back and then they're all soldiering up to clarence's room with their little um sewing needles and stuff and then like and like as the song comes to a crescendo they're all like and they're like attack and then again cuts to real life and it's just a kid dumping a box of creatures on clarence's bed and one of them is a worm that crawls into his hair and he's like chipmunks are everywhere fucking died i died it was so strong i have a db i'm in i have a db the first two seasons of clarence and there's some episodes they're like they're fine and there's some that fucking hit the ball so hard there's one where there's like boys and girls and they're protecting a giant rock and because the rock has is the biggest

casuals and and that was still playing the collie right now yeah yeah i'm sticking with it and um the one thing i will say is like again like last time as well the weakness of momo con is right next to that you look over at the console desert yeah and it's like all you see is endless monitors with nothing plugged into them yeah expecting b y o c's and a lot of the times when there is a console it's not connected to the internet you can't sign in there's no controller in sight or there's like uh call of duty and that's the only game completely inadequate console setups yeah nothing going on the same last smash was the only thing that had their shit together there well smash had like something easy to break or are approaching cults now they're so well

what i do what i do want to take away um from that that lovely dinner with him and uh his lovely wife jenna yeah was that uh we were able to i feel like we were able to sell them and push lucha underground as a concept a little bit i spent introducing the medallions and the belts and such and and similarly they were able to turn us on to the fact that the edge and christian show gets way better after episode three what that show had some fucking potential apparently if you stick around after episode they find their stride they find their stride exactly they figure it out and they have some good ass bits that keep on coming okay i would really including getting the likes of superstar virgil to appear and do a bit i would love to watch that so now i want to watch

i tweet a picture of this and mad murdoch's going let me see you can't see really it of all the fucking heroes they could have picked this thorn was right there it's amazing man mad we're not we're not as far from that as you might think in x-men apocalypse there may be the most blatant coca cola brand shot i have ever seen uh don't tell me because i want to see it but it but like it's not dude it is like hold on a moment it is like 15 seconds because we've lived we've lived through so a transforming coca cola vid no it dude it's it's how long oh yeah well that is the most i skipped that one it is a naked like the first one well then i just like you know you know it was a mountain dew machine you know the flat square angle shot of somebody drinking a coke

in the brand yes it's that for like 10 full seconds with nothing okay followed by the phrase welcome to the 80s yeah okay like it's it's so unless there's something else you want to add about momocon we can go on we can go on x-men apocalypse is not very good how bad is it on the scale i heard solid seven i think that a seven on ten is not very good it is exactly a seven on ten there is a couple problems you know outclick silver had that cool scene in the last movie they try to replicate would you like to replicate the exact same scene exactly the same completely exactly the same and then get him out of the movie because he would solve too many problems no they leave him in the movie and he just doesn't solve any of the problems

because problem but he could because he has to go talk to a character instead okay there is a scenario in which everyone is fighting apocalypse and instead of fighting apocalypse he's i'm going to go talk to somebody while everyone else is fighting apocalypse but like the biggest problem with the movie has to do with like did you see any of the other x-men movies yes do you know anything about apocalypse i do yeah i saw him at the end of that one i heard that he is not the rocks on the eternal no he sure isn't but the big problem is you go into the movie you're like gee i wonder how they're gonna get rid of apocalypse in this movie oh right yeah it's that it's the thing i knew about before i even walked in that they're like it's it's like how did like i wouldn't even call it a

fucking spoiler there's two characters in this movie that can just deal with apocalypse one's the cool way and one's the lame way and they go for the lame one even though they set up the cool the problem is that my my major experience with apocalypse is when cable and bishop were fighting it yeah and all they had were guns yeah and for me it's age of apocalypse the comics but also just episode one yeah where of the x-men cartoon that's what i mean that's what i'm wrestling and the writings not that great like there's a there's a point where a character falls unconscious and the line go what's wrong with them are they dead no it's their energy they're completely drained and like you couldn't just say they're exhausted and they passed out because it sounds so yeah but

the scene they're in it's really i i heard that the most of the movie is alright and then the last act is like the worst well most of the movie is nothing that's the that's the biggest problem that most of the movie is the setup for the final confrontation and when i say most of the movie i mean like 90 minutes of the film are are just set up i caught in bummer because it's like fucking x-men yeah so other thing is i caught a dude coming out of the not coming out of the theater but he's walking through the cotton he's like hey well i'm like hey what's up he's like i just saw it yeah i'm like hey break it down and he said i got to kill myself he said solid seven on ten and he said better than uh first class but weaker than future he's crazy how can it be better than first

class but weaker than future paths like for me that doesn't line up yeah because first class better than first class way ahead oh i like future past better than first class well this is this is worse than not by much but all right same here uh and and the the movie's biggest flaw is that it's so obsessed with the setup because like oh apocalypse is so invincible we can't have anyone fight him that like they're there isn't even like a single like actual real knockdown drag out fuck god damn it i know exactly what you mean no higher movie shit like that's the one fucking thing i hate when it's like this guy is such an untouchable badass we're not even they're not even gonna try and then we're gonna come up with the weak stupid way of dealing with the

situation we're trying to dramatize apocalypse in general you shouldn't even be able to be like but it's not even that like there's the part where it's like hey we're gonna have the x-men fight the angels right like that bit of like so you've seen it in straight like beast fighting cylock or uh archangel and nightcrawler fighting like each of those gets maybe 120 seconds tops and then they all end in draws and then of course they do and then they they all just kind of go away when people start to fight apocalypse and it is the it is every think of every scene and every superhero or magic or fantasy thing in which everyone is fighting sell you remember when they were fighting all fighting sell it once everyone takes a crack at it yeah and then the

one guy does the one thing and they're like oh he hurts so he hurts a little bit and then that other one guy does the other thing and now the problem that's the fight the fight with apocalypse is the fight with sell where no one can do anything and everyone just uselessly does their stupid shit at him like useless babies so and then then then the then the problems get solved and in the blink of an eye so nice cool so not only is uh civil war a reference point for bvs yeah but it's also a reference point for this with similar scenes where lots of heroes are fighting each okay is it worse than x-men 3 no like people are allowed to lose that's a fight like it doesn't matter if everyone wins that fight beast doesn't have to win beast shouldn't even be in the

fucking fight but that's what i'm saying like who cares if beast loses that fight as long as he doesn't die yeah and and then well in civil war like ant man eats shit every day you see people go down like nah you weren't good enough yeah it's it's like you get to an okay so there's gonna be some minor spoilers here for the next go ahead three minutes this movie you you're aware of the phrase ludonair dissonance that everybody uses to talk about uncharted this has it in a movie which i've never felt it in a movie before because it doesn't yeah but it's the worst i've ever seen for anything the events that take place in this thing involve the potential destruction of the earth yeah that's fine that process gets like halfway started what you see like eight cities turn into dust

by the end of this movie but then someone changes their mind and has a change of heart and then walks out of the ending going well we're old pals again and everyone just ignores that person killed like a billion people oh wow like like someone in this roster i bet you can guess who kills like a billion people on screen and when and when they and when they change their mind and switch teams everyone's like well you finally found your way we're friends again and they just never talk about it and it it is so unbelievable that's that i walked out of the theater looking at everyone that i saw the movie was like is everyone just going to ignore the fact that that guy just killed a billion people like a glaring i'm not exaggerating they show they show

sydney and every landmark in sydney being ground into cities a big city they show san francisco and chicago and parts of new york and all the all these and and just just being ground into dirt like en masse and cars with people in them you can see being lifted off into fucking hundreds of feet in the air and falling down and like i get it like a redemptive moment but there's no redemptive moment for killing like it's like creating a holocaust on that scale yeah okay i don't care that you you you got over your your your pathos are fucking whatever here's here's a thing is i i talked about this a bit before it's like hey man you like punishment not not i like punisher like hitler becomes an x-men all is absolved fuck that is exactly what happens sorry

man i just i like punisher but i love spider-man and i love x-men yeah because i spent so much on my youth with x-men and stuff and the thing with apocalypse is that apocalypse is so fucking powerful and so stupid that he shouldn't even get his plan going yeah they should stop his plan but you can't do that for a movie the plan has to get somewhere for the but the cartoon and most comics most come not all the gauge of apocalypse you fucking won right it's it's called the raising of the stakes raising of the stakes you can't like what you're describing can't happen and that makes me interested just to see and guess and guess what apocalypse is properly overpowered in this movie good like this dude he basically lets them win like like he shows off a power set in the early

movie that could kill every single person in the x-men universe in one second without any toughness at all and basically and and sabonair man and then then like in the fights that he has with the here like like jobbers like civilians that he just doesn't like will just turn into dust instantaneously but mutants that are trying to murder him he'll like oh i'll bind you you're i'll bind your feet so that you can't so girl i'll punch you so x-men weird mcgeddon it's it's i i feel like they're so used to writing magneto and other characters of that ilk that they take a character that's uber fucking powerful almost like superman levels and they're like they wrote him based on what they just want him to do and not what he can actually do which

is win the movie and minute one the the other problem is it's continuing first class and uh future pasts obsession with jennifer lorence well that's because he's cat by by pushing and he has to have not anymore but yeah he is such a fucking minor character in everything every cat every scene the jennifer lorence is in is written ass backwards in which she is the hero she is the main character and i saw her she is i saw her doing the motivational speech like in like in days of future past like i want to fucking die every time we get it mocking jay we get it this is not that serious the other thing is that in the first three x-men movies she uh like natasha uh whatever remains same as was just used as a crutch because her power was so useful in a movie

context yeah i could be anyone so that was always like that's cheap but whatever makes sense you're making a movie a character that could be anyone is super useful and whatever and past that past the three movies her like her importance should be lessened i heard that storm is actually quite good in this storm is great that's cool because it's about fucking time storm is the other version of that problem from the older movies though yeah the actor starts out doing the role yeah but but that's what happens with the criminal line for most w reviews how the berry storm has been the lisa simpson of the x-men oh my god where she's there but come on yeah no one's really quoting her except for the one really bad quote from x-men one i miss sabertooth when sabertooth gonna come back

denoted denoted exactly it has a it has the half of it is white and then the top half is the picture and then civil war in the white frame on beneath it and then you'll see like this is another character another specific um um side story that's taking place during this timeline like and so therefore it'll it'll have that same graphic design style to indicate that it's happening in this timeline and and things that our reference tier might show up in the main line are you interested in what the punisher was doing in civil war well here's just one issue of what the punisher was doing if you don't care about it you don't need to read it but it was just an interesting side story so i saw side quest i saw all of those with that same half and half cover and i just picked up the

you basically took say say you got 10 000 sales worth of kickstarter money yeah you just spent 10 000 sales so worth of kickstarter money your game on the other side is gonna potentially not sell those 10 000 and have to work around what you can sell from the remainder of of viable fans you know i think the ideal uh route for a lot of companies or what they're what people would hope for is that you use the kickstarter to get off the ground and then from then on you'll be able to well that's the ideal well i if you can get a good deal ideally yeah but like also but ultimately like i think it's valid to to just want to do that to want to have 100 ownership so i think it's valid but they shouldn't be surprised if and when there is backlash definitely any blowback should be

shadow run game we're gonna make one with hong kong but we're gonna do an all stretch goal kickstarter right we have the money to pay for it we totally own it and this kickstarter and this game is going to come out period but it is only for stretch goals and that game got a shit ton of stretch goals as a result um for pillars of eternity uh that was like very famously like obsidian was about to go under they just had a round of layoffs and if that kickstarter went poorly they were done yeah and it did it was a massive success and the game literally turned their company yeah and the game's great and uh it the steam spy data says that it sold pretty well not earth shattering but it sold fine and there they then announced their next rp g was going to
