I got my headphones, but my headphones bro they fell apart in the metro the other day yeah you mentioned the gold yeah yeah exactly the PlayStation gold I actually got the Bose ones that I have now I had those those places gold for a while and they're great yeah right up until the point that they just disintegrate on your head yeah is the second time it happens like they're fucking like $80 they have a really not complaining hard shelf life yeah but they just die after a year and a half I mean honestly after seeing both of you guys struggle with those over the years I'm like what's up with these Sony headphones well now they

should be indestructible because I put duct tape on the sides mmm so well they here here's the weakness and like I can't show it to you because there's duct tape over it but these inches here there's these little bits that hold it in and I think I showed them to you before actually they just shatter but now everyone can just look and wonder who's the cool guy with the Mario it's not that cool but they're probably gonna live at the office as soon as Christmas rolls by and I have some money to spend on new headphones because I don't give a shit what I look like at the office yeah no one can see you you know people can

extremely lowered standards I recommend Bowers and Wilkins P5's they're yeah I was I was going to get I don't remember the exact set but it is a sent Sennheiser Sennheiser's I don't remember which exact one it was but I was asking a guy and and if you don't have to carry them with you you're gonna leave them here you might as well get something good oh these ones are staying here the shit ones yeah okay I don't want to carry Liam likes the shit I care with those that for 80 to a hundred dollars they're actually pretty good yeah definitely but like you know how when you're getting something of that cost

for a high-end high-end headphone I'm doing big air quotes one aspect of it is gonna suffer either the wireless or the the the sound quality of the bass or whatever and for these ones it's the durability and the wire and the wire and the wire is weird I wouldn't I would throw that underneath durability as well honestly but it's just a big quality yeah well they used to have before this they had the pro headset which was their top or elite I think actually not pro but they had the same problem with the edges they had a very similar it wasn't quite the same it was like their build as it went down the side like the what's

this bit called the head the headband headband head whatever the top it on the headphones it would go down it would be thick and then it would thin out and then go back to the head that's the weakness and that thin bit was fucking stupid integrity at risk yeah exactly and they would I had a pair of those when we worked at Eidos and they just shattered and those were more expensive actually those were like a hundred and fifty well what headphones but they lasted two years these are bower and Wilkins P5 headphones so there's a special something in my heart when you when you explain the item that you're

wearing it has two person's names on it yeah it's either a headphone or a lawyer firm a law firm or like a particularly expensive form of furniture or yes yeah well I mean all the ones that only have and mr. Wesson had to come together the only one the ones that all have one name it's just because that person was greedy or and greedier and or stronger mr. Bose and mr. just let me just take a little sip here is that a is that a 20 year old Batman forever McDonald's okay I need to investigate what's going on with the cups you just found it didn't you no no no he didn't okay for so what what's happening right now is I'm drinking out of a Batman forever McDonald's glass cup yeah and apparently everyone in the world owned one me and woolly did serious research the other day serious we watched a bunch of YouTube videos to get some serious serious serious research yes and these cups were were given away or sold for like a dollar we can't find out we can't figure it out I think they

were free some yeah I think I think they were free the market penetration is so strong that they must have been everybody has these transparent right with a happy meal or some shit or some shit exactly everyone has them and they're nice I've never seen it before and they're awesome so I'm actually surprised you haven't they're very cool and when we looked it up yeah one of the things we saw because woolly you ordered this set of four cups for how much again nine bucks nine bucks we saw that that's a deal on a collector's website they said they were exceedingly not overproduced but they were there was a huge amount of

them produced they were all distributed they're exceedingly common but they are at the same time very desirable collectors items and not expensive so that's a really weird combination I really want them this but they're not expensive these so many if you go look up Batman forever McDonald's glass set these are the most successful marketing like cups I've ever heard of yeah the world and it's the kind of thing Paul marketing succeeded that day really hard yeah it's the kind of thing where I love them a lot but if I was walking down an alley and I saw one shattered in the corner I'd be like oh it's too bad yeah

I feel bad like no that like there's a there's a girl in the gone box sets like in the mud like torn apart right that's a different thing these mugs these things are cheap because I grew up I grew up because the thing about it is that the handle is is a bunch of coins that yeah and then there's the other one where there's a Riddler one where the handle is a question mark yeah and it started with Alex to Fexus the voice actor for do it day sex his grandmother was had a photo of her with them with the mug and Matt retweeted it going like oh my god I had that mug and I'm like fuck you that's my mug I'm like no I we had that

and I was like oh my god what the fuck my cousins had it everyone okay three out of four of this I bats you that and that bears investigating yeah you know and I think so you ordered the mugs I ordered the mugs immediately for the office and I may have had one but I would have thrown it out because like my family hates Batman forever that's no no no it's not has it does that doesn't matter I know it's like that I remember we went to see Batman forever for my birthday and that was rough and then my dad fell asleep within 10 minutes and was snoring loud and and that was my movie experience that's fair that's and

we didn't wake him up because then he'd have to watch Batman forever right no that what that's the nice thing to do good family so on that note Matt's out for the week currently on route from to you he's at a series of survival no that would come on he he was at an NXT match yeah no he was a survivor series in Toronto he was replacing us with Takahata and fish and Xavier Woods yeah and he was also pushing the new lore yeah and I need to give him his props we need to give him his due because he's he sat in whatever amazing seats they got at survivor series and he held up a sign that was visible on TV that's

consistently that said your dream is unclear yeah and I'm not sure but I think he might even be within view of the hard camera as well he was in view of the hard camera um and I just want to give major fucking props because like he's getting that out there because we've done the bring back Benoit we've done the rage in the baths on television no but but now using this as a vehicle for terrace house yeah instead of anything else is fucking brilliant who needs wrestling yeah no your dream is truly unclear and like I want to have wrestlers in the ring your dream is unclear honestly there's potential for

a storyline of a character that honestly believes that I want to look because I haven't checked to see if there's anyone confused on Twitter going what does this mean what is this a reference to who who are these unclear dream people in the front row I don't know but good job Matt you did it you had one job and you succeeded well you had two but he slammed dunked that one slam dunked that one and the other one met up with Xavier hopefully so good times good stuff good job so with that I guess we might as well start with our weeks I would like to say something about wrestling okay please say something

it's spoilery so I'm gonna avoid talking about specifics is it about the underground it's about the underground okay last tech warfare was last week okay yeah our our champion entered at number one mm-hmm because he's so big and strong of course the king of no cell of course all I will say is that I have I I have been made miserable by the outcome of that match okay I have not and woolly look me in the eye you will be miserable too is pentagon junior dead it's the only thing you have is he now dead and gone the only thing that you have ever complained about to me about lucha underground is what occurred the

only thing hmm I am miserable it is the worst ending that could have happened okay but it's like a kayfabe worst ending like I hate it because I'm a mark so now you're booing yeah we're not walking out you're you're still sitting in the in your seats but you're booing like so do they they like it's a it's a squash champ right yeah yeah yeah and so you go through the roster and you get to that point we're like okay who's left that's viable that can actually do this these five people yeah okay anyone but them like any oh my god all right it's the worst and other people are happy and I hate them okay okay so yeah go go

ahead with your weeks but I just need to get that out there if you like the current state of lucha underground your bed person well you might as well take it from there okay I know honestly Pokemon came out and I played a little bit of it I didn't go nuts with it but boy that's a good god damn moon I'm sure you could save like 40 tweets just by just by getting that out I bought moon okay okay I always buy the second one because the first one's always more popular though this game has the week always the case always every game can you confirm this no okay red was more popular than for sure but I mean I can't

confirm this did more people yeah but it always I know in Japan there was a chain of stores that I get specific news on that said moon was selling a lot more to adults really yeah but that's just one because it's or well all I'll say is that every point in my life that a Pokemon game came out it always seemed like the whatever the first one was was doing better but I wonder but I wonder about my preference was always like a pearl is an objectively shitty rock compared to diamonds but but but that's the thing is for me it was just what does the legendary look like which of the two do I prefer yeah that's how you

do it that's just straight that's the only way for me the moon one looks weird and I I got why because what about black and white what about black and white well how would like wouldn't white do more popular no man blacks cool it's dark right I thought I bought black I thought he felt all looked cooler than whatever that X there and yes yeah yeah you know I yeah I bought why so the the weirdest thing about Pokemon you guys and look is like to me cooler than a whole yeah okay all right yeah I agree with that yeah okay you guys have played a little bit of Sun and Moon right no I played the demo thoroughly and I went

back into a lot of the timed events and I I ordered a copy of Sun on Friday cuz I was like I guess like I'm interested but I was really turned off when I saw the the whole roster because I think there's a lot of bad ones in the weirs apparently the new god king of Pokemon yeah he's a bear it's silly he hugs you no I ordered it on Friday so which one did you get me ordered Sun yeah okay I'm not like frothing to play it I've got so many things to play so I'm also not I barely play I put maybe four hours in the whole weekend but every time I do pick it up I'm a lot happier than I used to be whenever I

played Pokemon this one's really good and Team Skull is the best I team Skull is just a group of mats everything is really evident like you do get a few encounters their dialogue is fucking terrible it's so stupid I think but in the way that we want I think the thing that compelled me to order it the most was the character designs and the writing because I saw well I played the demo of course and had a lot of really good writing and I saw a lot of screenshots of good snippets of dialogue and it's yeah it's definitely on point with it feels more like an RPG than prior pokemons I've played because I'm

going to places and I'm doing things more than because removing the gyms completely and replacing it with trials but also just more stuff oh is that a thing I didn't know about the gyms are gone instead with trials so there are dungeons but there are four trials but they're they're not quite gyms okay they service him like the very first thing I did on the first island is you you run into the the captain of the trial and you beat him and that's the first part of it okay and then you do go do the rest of the trial but moon and sun have a gimmick that I did not fully appreciate or understand before it came out and I

feel like is completely wasted on me so the games have a day and night cycle obviously moon is 12 hours ahead so if you play during the day moon will be at nights yeah instead of during the day yeah as somebody who plays this game exclusively late at night I am the gimmick is completely lost on me because I'm just playing in day during the day that sucks it's super fucking weird that sucks yeah but if I play it on the way to the podcast I guess but you don't get enough time I was talking to the girlfriend on the way the podcast I like what I like about team skull is the snap squatting that I see them do yeah and

they don't appear to have any larger goal because people just talk about them all they are is just kids that are bored and are into hip-hop and which is what that's it villain team of Pokemon bad guys would they're just a bunch of bored hooligans yeah I mean I'm sure it goes deeper they do I'm sure the leaders have but like all the grunts are just bored teenagers but like you know after literal world conquering ambitions on the previous teams yeah parts I think a bunch of just hooligan shenanigans everything's fine well I frankly I think it's gonna be more well no the solution to that is there's two teams

sure maybe skull is a bunch of losers and the other one is the your world conquering team well I mean we'll see because I saw some of the team skull admins and I was like yeah they look pretty hardcore their music is so amazing it's it's really really strong what else is it there's only one thing I guess it would nag me about this new Pokemans oh by the way that QR code shit's the best that QR code shit is the best let's you just scan you want to fill in your pokedex scan it you can scan as many as you want in a day you can fill up your decks but it's like one or two hours right no no there's no limit I don't know

why where that came from I scanned in 10 that's somewhere I scanned in 10 within 45 seconds just a dex though yeah you get the decks but what's good about that is that it tells you where they are on the island so you can go catch them oh wow and also decks completion counts for whatever the fuck item they're gonna give you just for completely yeah like like but I mean catching them all is up to you but yeah but better than that is that once a day if you scan 10 of them you can do something called an island scan and that will spawn a Pokemon that is not otherwise in the game somewhere so like I was seeing people going check

it I got a fucking sink a Cyndaquil day one I caught it I caught it the fucking thing so like is that a way this is the end of the night the OCD nightmare of you can't catch them all there is a way this is a loot crate kind of situation where you could theoretically get it all you could I'll spend a little fortune there's only 500 ticks on it it's still it's still gonna take you a while Pokemon eggs Pokemon eggs yeah you can breed a bunch of them but you know like that it's gonna take a while but combined with breeding other people's duplicates etc like it is more easy than ever the only the only two downsides

that I see about the game right now is that when you start holy shit they really hold your hand harder than ever before and it's kind of annoying like I wish I could pick a slightly older character who's like yeah I know I know how to catch a Pokemon right me and me and the people in birds called were joking like do you think there's even a baby on this earth that doesn't know how to catch a Pokemon by now you hold B for the ball hits it yeah I think what more of the hand-holding for is for RPG mechanics yeah but hey catch Pokemon I guess you gotta explain they don't want to talk about the RPG mechanics like the

game's made to be brain dead and simple through the story so that anyone can play it they don't want to mire people down in it anyone who wants to they want complex yeah but the stories are the other thing is that it's like is he using fire don't use grass yeah like that's pretty much I have a I have a couple friends who are like those crazy long-time trainers that have the full living decks sitting on hand and the Pokemon banks not gonna be open till January yeah first and it's like for those people it's game ruining because they're like I just want to get my dittos and have all these Pokemons fuck

time to buy a second copy of the game they all do you think these people don't already have a second copy of the game they sold a two-pack time to buy a third copy of the game no but it's not even that it's like it's the it's the dittos it's the the perfect IV and EV trained dittos that are perfect for breeding right because they want like my friend says hey Pat I'll breed you all the starters they go wow that's amazing and he goes I can't because I don't have my ditto like oh it's a bummer but otherwise really good looks really good like did you do the frame rate is rock solid did you do your spinning haha well

yeah did you wrote spin in a circle did I spin a circle yeah because that's a new thing now or like if you walk in a circle for like for a couple seconds you start doing like a little I did not know that yeah try it interesting you have to walk that you can't run Pokemon and me is the stupidest shit yeah it was stupid when it came in still still fucking dumb yeah and now there's the worst it was worse in Fire Emblem so what is it it's hey pet your Pokemon Pokemon Pokemon me like friend okay and you hey is your Pokemon your friend he'll take death hits for you more often but never in online battles only in the story so like

fuck off and I actually know that no that's good or else like you fuck up no no what I mean is is like it makes the future even more useless right oh sure sure and I sure as hell wouldn't want it to be that way because then it would require everyone to take care of their little fucking dog slaves yeah but like I accidentally smacked my lit in the face a bunch of times because I didn't understand the touch controls and I looked it up and apparently like certain moves are better if you beat your Pokemon like revenge yeah well that's like yeah because revenge revenge works better when they don't like you as much

yeah so that's what kind of trainer are you type of thing I had a like a screaming match with someone for the weekend over this because they named their Pokemon they named they named their their their fucking litten per rock Lesnar okay and I was like no that's not that Pokemon's name that Pokemon's name is show good that god damn it no that Pokemon's name is Litten yeah that's that that's Squirtle's name you know what that Squirtle's name is yeah Squirtle I forgot you know why you know why yeah because don't get attached no because they are guns how about you make an argument that it's a genus how

about fuck you you name the ones you care about something no you don't care about any of them no they are little gladiatorial fight animals I have the ones I care for and those are my six and the rest I don't give I don't give them sick each it when you get a dog what are you gonna call it dog if I got a dog I probably call Oscar oh yeah Elmo yeah but don't get attached they're gonna be dead in six years it's a weapon I'm not listening there's a difference between your pet animal that you love and your fight animal for murder the fact that you love your murder dog or whatever is fucked up if you love it why would you

character whose name is basically David Cage that one doesn't seem so bad to me it's a cameo whatever put yourself in it hey dayo Kojima yeah yeah but that's different cuz I like that there's not like who cares about that but I like that that's not writing skills that's just a cameo who cares that I like who's Justin Bailey who fucks that I don't know who is Justin Bailey and I want to know I can see that I can explain it let's hear it because I looked it up I love that shirt I love that code it's actually a random string of letters that just happened that's what I'm saying like exactly who's Justin Bailey who it was

wanted to get into tyranny but instead ended up backsliding into pillars of eternity and then this is the run that's finally gonna actually go because I spoke to some guy on Twitter like helped me make like a min max super mage so I'm very happy with that and I watched a bunch of Westworld which Wally and I talked about before the podcast you did because there's that is a show that is hard to talk about without talking about a bunch of spoilers shit it's hard to say anything have you have you seen any of it I've seen all seven episodes yeah there's a not last night well eight came out yeah okay so Liam so we can do a

spoiler cast in like maybe two or three weeks yeah when it's only 10 oh it's only 10 yeah okay and then the second season's gonna be like late 2018 so well but you know what you whatever you alternate with Game of Thrones and shit yeah that's that's the episode that I saw most recently and boy that's a good goddamn TV show that's a yeah it's strong that's a good one and super high quality it's something that I barely talked about Wally I think last time because I hadn't seen it yet or maybe I'd seen one episode you see one episode and I feel so strongly about this where I if you listen to me talk or whatever

you'll see that I love this really weird granular in between of situations I like it when the zombie apocalypse yeah starting yeah I like it when the problem with the aliens isn't dire yeah and because they never show that yeah and always get the easy version of the every every time right or everything's fine and so this is that but for the robot like fucking insurrection or whatever yeah in which it's not a bug it's not an just an error but it is also very much not consciousness it is not sentience it's something less than but more than nothing and that's fascinating to me it's so so interesting oh I love that

show so much and Anthony Hopkins is awesome and he's super good yep and Ed Harris continues to be an old evil looking man you can zoom in on Anthony Hopkins face forever you can do an entire episode in the scene where they're running the test and they just keep zooming in on Anthony Hopkins face for like a full minute like yeah I don't stop and he doesn't say anything and he changes face he's just oh look at this big Anthony Hopkins face on your TV yeah it's so go deeper watch that show immediately if you haven't started and you're the slightest bit interested in robots and like science fiction proper

it's interesting because like it's a show that like all the most of the stuff that people are gonna see about it is stuff that's Western yeah right yeah but and even though most of the show takes place it like I'd say 60% or more of the show takes place in the Western environment yeah that shit is fucking who cares about that compared to them talking in their cool glass offices and shit and it's so interesting because you don't know what time frame the present they go they go so far out of their way to not say what year it is not show any photos or what the outside world looks like yeah it's not worth grounding it because

then you're just gonna run into people who are like well if this is this way then why isn't all that matters and is that poverty and and and disease and and all that stuff is pretty much gone and so life is fine on well what I thought after watching up to where you guys have yeah was whatever comes after this is going to inform something of where this must be in time yeah because the drastic events that have occurred here however they follow through we got to see something right hint at the outside world and yeah I think you're still kind of left in the dark it's such a it's interesting it's you were talking to me

and because it has a problem that like I think people who watched loss would feel or it's like please tell me this is actually going somewhere there is a there is a meta narrative going on that many characters reference that isn't almost never explicitly talked about at all and it's the big mystery and it and and you get that feeling in your heart that's just like oh please let the one piece be a thing please don't let it be a fucking power of friendship bunch of crap this could be an invisible carrot on an invisible string but you said that after you watch last night no strings visible you're right you can't see

if you can't see you mentioned to me Willie that after you watch it last night that you have a strong feeling that it looks like there is something you may not know what it is it looks like there is something but it's it's well anyway that being said character driven with with this kind of plot like it would almost be perfectly applicable that it's not a bad explanation but the explanation is literally that it is nothing yeah like the whole mystery was literally completely for nothing it's a show the last thing I want to say about it is it's a show that jumps around to different characters and different a lot

story line like lots really yeah and God how I wish I could desperately lock the camera on a specific storyline yeah for half an hour it has the same problem you know that Evangelion 3.33 is where like you see all these cool characters that you really like and then the camera fall those shingy out the door you're like no no no no no stay in this room stay in this room I want to see what's happening here wish anyway great show but that's pretty much it yeah it's really thrilling to watch and there's clearly a big thing that's marathoning it is so evident well marathon we watched seven episodes over

four days so yeah yeah we watched it in pseudo fairly rapidly but you know yeah so good after it it's not it's not that much to fill seven out well so you know what I do have one extra thing to say my favorite thing about the show is that the robots they're usually okay but boy those human characters are probably the most objectionally object objectively disgusting people that I have ever seen and there's a couple of them yeah that the camera and the plot frames like oh they're doing an interesting thing there's the character who talks in the in the basement quite a bit and that characters like oh they're trying to do

a cool thing but when you think about it what these people are doing is fucking nefarious and evil and just makes you feel bad and some of them are just clocking in and it just happens that what they're doing is yeah I thought you were talking about the average like park goers all those people and there's because there's that there's that guy it's like you seem less like like a pert like a real human and more like a robot and how cartoonishly ridiculous you are and hey does that person wear a black hat guess what they're evil or whatever the case yeah that fucking fucking brother whatever

his name no details but I'm really glad I hate him I I'm really glad that at some point they drop a price into they did into exactly there how much it costs there is a price yeah exactly a fucking lot they drop a price into how much it costs to like go go to this place and it's like that's the kind of person you're getting yep I love it people that have money to burn money to burn burn and burn what else they're gonna do that's great yeah Liam yeah and what I'll put the lean more I went up I watched Westworld all the way through as far as I could above minus episode 8 I was far as time permitted I couldn't find a

lending link at 5 p.m. last night I watched it at 4 a.m. yesterday yeah you fucking did but I was watching that and that's thoroughly excellent that's the lending struggle I highly recommend you go watch that shit if you haven't the first the first episode is actually free on HBO's website yes no excuses unless you don't have internet in which case how are you listening to this yeah exactly so did you steal it from your grandma's Wi-Fi the mysteries keep stacking up your grandma's Wi-Fi yeah why would your grandma have Wi-Fi I don't for not compute for our pacemaker that's a real Wi-Fi that's real that's a real

they are great they're all really personable I actually that was one of the things that jumped out at me is a bit odd was they were almost too friendly with each other right out of the gates because the game opens on you're doing a mission as Marcus to kind of get yourself into dead sec right and Marcus is like really an experienced hacker and he's the kind of guy who would fit right in but he's just doing his you know not hazing his initiation initiation mission exactly and he succeeds and they have a party on the beach and they talk to each other and him and a character named wrench exchange maybe less than

30 words and then the very next day one of the first things that can happen is that a movie trailer drops and wrench calls you up and he's like hey yo is trailer dropped right and a big part of the dialogue there involves them being at that level of bro friendship that you're like okay you guys only you guys only know each other for like a sum total of like 40 minutes and you're already at this level that's a bit fast hackers man discounting that odd jump in time which there's no jump in time it's very clear it's the next day but discounting that odd little bit there their relationships with each other are smooth

and fun is it great to watch them interact it's really telling because like it's it's the kind of thing that was so that we've seen a million times is like the hacker group of edgy fucking shit lords yeah and opinionated all to people yeah and and they are opinionated all people straight up my favorite thing about the girl is she's an alt chick and she's opinionated but she's not a pinion yeah who always tries to fight what you want to write good so the first thing that happens in the game made me really like it and got me way on board with the new tone because I saw some of the trailers with the fucking baseball

with the string and all that shit and I was like whatever right I don't know about this weird like edgelord hacker shit and they're like okay so you're gonna go in there and you're gonna fucking hack it man and then they're whispering like nobody's ever done this and they're like okay you ready like okay so I made this mix for you so set the mood and this track comes on and it's fucking great yeah it's just this like low tempo calm techno beat that's just music's really good and particularly electronic a part of this and and Marcus has his headphones in yeah bobbing his head like yeah I'm hacking

this I'm beating these guys up yeah yeah yeah everything you're saying and everything about this whole situation reminds me of going from Altair to Ezio absolutely where it's like how do you fix the first games issue of a serious edgy guy not even edgy but just too too much of a like I'm out for my my goal and that's all that matters you know as you're a place with someone who's like more of a Joseph Joestar yeah and he's got a he's got like a fun plus personality I think I think I like Marcus and dead sack a lot more obviously but I do think there is like one weakness that Aiden Pierce did have

and it's that when I am playing as Marcus I feel like guilty or like I'm doing the wrong thing when I've hurt someone yes I was about to ask and I when you're playing as Aiden Pierce like you don't because he has he's out for revenge for a reason yeah and he's a huge asshole yeah but it bears it bears mentioning that Marcus and dead sack are also huge assholes like there's a bit where you sell a celebrity sex tape for okay you know like they're also huge there's but they're more affable there's a dead sack I was gonna say they're like Aiden and them are both huge assholes but they just act but is it is it not

jarring though it is like these guys that are so likeable are now stringing up well flaying wrench tells you right at the beginning wrench is very personable and he tells you right at the beginning you print weapons on this 3d printer and you go to the 3d printer and you can print one electric stun handgun you can print one like EMP grenade launcher and you can print it for you can print 14 bullet firing weapons okay and that's the vast majority of your yeah it's arms it's the so everybody does that thing we're like Nathan Drake's murder you know that whole fucking thing little narrative

dissonance and like I think the one the only one that's ever gotten me was like the very beginning of Tomb Raider Tomb Raider the reboot where Lara's like freaking out about killing a deer and then she's popping headshots and you're getting points yeah next to headshots yeah right and this is the second one where I'm like this fit Marcus you can tell right away that when I ran that guy over with a car Marcus would get out and like throw up yeah yeah I was trying really hard to play it straight cuz I felt like like that was how he would not be an accidentally clipped he would not make it to the hacker hideout and be like

oh my god and the police were nearby and they shot me to death and I was like well yeah that that I would have gotten shot to death but yeah I like I wouldn't have let that escalate that was here had the had the the caveat that Aidan was a violent psychopath yeah yeah so fine whatever he doesn't shit I didn't mind yeah so basically that Neo gaff thread was on point oh yeah it's super I didn't think it was and then I played yeah no me too yeah I saw it was like that's stupid and I was like oh no wait this is actually really weird yeah and uh bunny I didn't think earlier before a bunny also said the same thing when he

did a review where he played through the game entirely non-lethaly use distractions and yeah stun gun which is basically the the tranq from MGS2 and he said that it was really really fun but he felt disappointed that the game doesn't push you harder yeah to play like this it's a tranq but it's not silent yeah but at no point do you have to do anything that is lethal I don't think you don't have to kill a single person okay I remember Ubisoft announced it a long time ago that you could do a complete non-lethal play through and I think people have validated that in the wild now well when I did the first mission like I

could have which is what we wanted from trailer one yeah of game one yeah no it's it has not pulling the gun it has that problem of like somebody gives you a gun and you're like no I don't want it yeah I didn't want it either in the first one but I felt like Aiden could work with the guns yeah and with Marcus I don't want to use the guns yeah you want to use a taiko RC car and I mean it is you know as with all open-world games their specific actions between the story bits are obviously not canon no you know but nonetheless being in control of that it's like like driver one had a system that I would have liked to see instituted here

and in driver one it's impossible to run people over on the street it is 100% there is a there's like a physics buffer around your car and and people will dive a hard out of the way as soon as it touches them like I tried and try like you're flying down the sidewalk in driver yeah and you're not hitting anyone yeah and if that was the case because I can easily see Marcus being the kind of guy who's in an action-style chase on the sidewalk and like get out of the way and you know he doesn't hit anyone right yeah but if I'm blowing down that sidewalk like fucking Dio in Egypt and people the babies are flying everywhere

and shit no that actually doesn't make any sense and it's weird well hey man you will hit Batman can do it and the tumbler just tases them that's but they're okay that's why I can't mark is doing I hit some guys with that no you did it no you did so hard that they flew out of the world you got to anybody's not he's fine yeah didn't break a bone can't can't do it break a bone our nose but I do like watchdogs too quite a bit it's really enjoyable there's a lot of really fun touches there's an app on your phone that's an uber app and you can drive people as side missions right cool and the app is called driver San

Francisco complete with the complete with the driver branding yeah okay so I thought like that's that's really inside I really like the the the because every open world game has the metric of like go to this location take a photo do whatever but because of the dead sack hacker shit more modern it's like you're basically getting people to follow you on Instagram okay it makes perfect sense so that's a big part of the progression is you're doing stuff that people will see publicly like publicity sense to get more people to download your app so you can hijack their phones power do more elaborate things okay there's

a lot of really cool stuff I've seen like there's a mission early on you may have already heard about it where you go hack Ubisoft San Francisco and you pull out a new trailer for an upcoming real game in real life with the complete with the Ubisoft you know do not distribute stuff and you get to watch a good long portion of that trailer okay which is really neat and then they leak that in the game and they get a bunch of followers and stuff you know and at no point does it get like corny with the ascii art and stuff like that like okay no so I was gonna talk about the the art of dead sack is so ridiculously on

point it's really amazing it's really the thing I hate is there's a lot of memes that slip through the cracks that's kind of wondering about and the their aesthetic the art that the the girl in your team she does all the art she's like the artist kind of yeah all of the art that in universe she does is incredibly good but then you'll look around and you'll see like those like fucking image macros with like you know the text on the bottom I don't know those are called image macros you're correct that's it but that specific type and that's what we know but that that specific type is the general image

macro and their trash and their garbage and their shit and stop just fucking stop are you telling the internet to stop creating memes no I'm telling somebody created out of that writers that they should know better than to put that in their game oh that's the future that humor is not going to appreciate dank meme words are the our future and they have like a fake troll face that they illustrated and it looks shitty but all the naked egg in a just tweeted he said if you're having a sad day post a meme and you'll feel better yeah exactly you would know he's the jetset no for sure for sure but you know some stuff is

painted stuff around the door and one of the spray painted things just says dead sack nice just right like you have to go in the back of the store and you have to know it's not a hey but when you see the door it says dead sack next to it hey man and it says tourist information here with an arrow pointing at the door you're like huh so it's not the flayed bodies hanging outside the windows okay all right all right and I'll start gonna go also the dead sack garage elsewhere in the in the world that you go to later also has like cops are never gonna be able to maintain their composure and get past like the 40k

standee yeah like there's no yeah this is our guard and what the fucking statues what ridiculously overpriced paint art did you use to make his gun green yeah it is really fun though and there was a point early in the game where I was really feeling like I it was a fun vampire as well oh and I I pushed past it and the the only things that are really keeping me in is the cutscenes are really great the character interactions are great I love hearing the characters talk together their their friendships are really believable and well-written in a way that I haven't really seen in many other

games army of two style conversations better better than army of two and the fact that you can teleport around the map pretty much it will is something I really enjoy because one of the things I one of the things I think I can't stand about like Grand Theft Auto style open world games is I hate like driving from point eight to point B I feel like is a waste of my time like I don't enjoy that at all that's just that's just me that was why with the first watchdogs I called it a fun vampire cuz I just couldn't find any fucking enjoyment in it and watchdogs too I don't remember if this isn't the first but you can

teleport to any like clothing store or restaurant or whatever so you can usually get somewhere within the vicinity of your next mission I kind of wish you could just warp to the mission and just cut out the middle right would you be happier if this game had no open world component at all and was just a series of missions and cutscenes I'd be happier if I could just warp to the mission I wouldn't want to remove that for people who don't want it yeah and and that's one of the reasons I do like it is because I can warp very close usually usually just down the block and that's fine so just grab a like a

motorcycle car that's lying around and I'll get there in a second but like occasionally I'll have a mission where it's like okay I got to drive out a good distance I'll be like alright time to drive it's not really it's not really what I want because yeah to expand on like what Liam was saying earlier like in terms of the likability and like up our aliness of it there's a conversation that Marcus has with wrench on the phone in which they start talking about alien versus predator and yeah I think people linked that yeah did you see that I started to watch it and then I stopped because it's

specifically the bit where he goes okay well which aliens we talking we talking Cameron or Ridley yeah and Marcus goes I like the sequel better so let's go with those and wrench goes oh whoa we're gonna have to have a talk later but anyway and like that really specific like razor is a conversation we could have yeah yeah absolutely but I'm really enjoying it I'm keen to go back I saw that the games only about 20 hours long all things said unless you do the open world no with all side quests apparently apparently you can do all the trophies in about 25 hours which means you're doing all the side the main side quests

and all the main quests interesting and you're not doing all the collect all the money bags all around the world the money collect all the dead drops collect all the whoever gives a fuck all the jiggies I'll take that as a ringing endorsement to completely skip part one oh yeah yeah and it's some collect those flags it's a bummer because I in part one you know the the only thing I did like about it was like Aidan's an asshole and like that was kind of the appeal was like he's such a fucking did we did I talk about this so out for revenge that that's kind of okay bad did I did I like go into a I know a lot of

people didn't enjoy it but I definitely feel like it's one of those things were like I don't feel like I like this so it's bad but I think he's intentionally a great Aidan was good but he was a his morality is questionable did I go on a rant about Aidan Pierce last week no but a long time ago because Aidan Pierce is like I disagree with you there well actually no I don't think he's written badly but I think Aidan Pierce is like one of the most unlikable so objectionable he is Kratos in the modern world okay everything is his fault every single thing I would not enjoy that happens in the game is 100% his

fault his fan the crux of the watchdogs one is his some guys try and kill him in a assassination attempt because he stole a shitload of money and his nephew is in the car at the time and his nephew bites it yeah so he's like all torn up and furious that like a family member of his died as a result of you know payback for his hacking actions yeah so he decides I'm gonna go on a vigilante crusade against these people and okay that's a decent setup and also that's the beginning of like the Kratos story right it's like Aries killed my family blah blah blah but it was me but it was him so because it's a direct

response to his hacking thing absolutely so the next like the one of the first scenes in the game is he drives to his sister's house who has her little girl there who then both of them are still fine and totally alive he has murked some dudes immediately he's still wearing the outfit all he does is pull the handkerchief down off his face and he goes and hangs out at his sister's house and with the time skip it appears for like several hours and they talk about how you shouldn't do revenge Aiden you should do that blah blah blah and like he doesn't understand that by committing crimes against these people

and then going to hang out with his family it is that is what is causing this to happen I remember correctly that was one of the things I liked when his sister was like leave get out like you're you are the you are the stupidest mother fucker in the world people aren't putting up with it you know and like that was one of the things I appreciated and I feel like it's kind of like Kenny where Kenny is a great character in The Walking Dead yes I'll fight anyone who says he's not a great character oh I hate his guts but I he's great he's written to be extremely decisive to fight divisive yeah yeah yeah and he's great and I don't

think Aiden's as good as Kenny don't know no he's not but but I think Aiden occupies like he's so objectionable that there's an interest in the end of the day I don't think anyone's wearing a friend a free cat but Kenny absolutely yeah but the one thing I don't think Aiden is is I don't think he's regular oatmeal no what I mean like but does it come back to vitamin yes yes objectionable yes like watchdogs wanted no no not I mean not in terms of how the story starts but where it goes is I don't know if he dies no no that occur he does not know he wins I'm gonna look it up because that's the thing like if the game or the narrative

was that because of this no he was seeing the consequences of your actions coming back to bite you in the ass then I'd be down nope no he wins it is important to remember that even though he's doing like awful things like he's he is doing like the right thing yeah like he's being a vigilante for a good cause you know yes but but there's questionable elements no no his methods or questions the only main character I can think of in like a couple years that when I was playing there was a moment that like screamed at my television like shut up Aiden like like just like active hatred for the

quite a come-up in situation perhaps well he wants you probably gets well he wants to see it and lose yeah well you want to see him die no no I want to see him win a bittersweet victory yeah okay where it's like exactly where it's you succeeded fuck you succeeded at the genuinely good goal yes that you wanted because his goal is opposing that like CTOS system that is morally in a lot of ways because there's but movies that I won't spoil by saying their names where you get a character who is not great but he is a protagonist and then as you go through it towards the end it's like you you you saved the day kind of but

also this was today but you didn't save yourself you didn't see yes yes the job is not going to save you yeah blank I don't know I'm actually like I was really thinking about it leading into Watch Dogs 2 and when I finish it I'm going to try to go back to the first one okay just to feel it just that's the same reason that you go back and play Shadow of Mortar on the ps3 yeah there's some stuff that's gone that I really appreciate the towers are gone the like Ubisoft towers like open world think about that there aren't think about that so you don't have to waste your time on like quote-unquote tower missions I'm

thinking about it I'm thinking about it so that that probably cuts out an entire two hours of gameplay total but that's not a bad thing because like you're just going around and it's fun the towers were cool and Assassin's Creed because it was novel to be able to climb up somewhere high and the towers work in Assassin's Creed that was that was not gonna ten years ago it is and and well we wouldn't know yet cuz it's too early but I'm like if end game power-ups is like you're a walking god you know that's the thing about like cuz that's where it always goes well I was gonna say it's the shitty thing about Western

open-world games like GTA and like I assume Watch Dogs and stuff is like you never become the god by the end you have a bunch of menial powers that help you do specific things a little bit better but like you never get like OP shit you know what and it and like this and the skill ceiling so low that you're just like a bit better by experience you know what game did that really well sleepy dogs sleeping dogs did because you got huge melee chains but you didn't need more powers you just got good at the game and you could that last mission in sleeping dogs fucking astounding it's so good really cool but like new game

plus Assassin's Creed brotherhood yeah where you're just walking through the city and it's like is there a contract yeah done demolish someone else did it for me oh is someone coming at me gunshot Assassin's Creed you get it's over it's ridiculous in Watch Dogs it's like I'm looking at the end of the upgrade trees and it's like your RC thing can jump twice as high you're you know all right stuff like that hackers man yeah but it's it's I'm thoroughly enjoying it there's a mission right at the beginning where you have to wrench creates a soundboard for a rapper so that you can go fake a sale of his

music is awesome and it kicks in at the right moment as it's like the bosses come in and the music starts and there you go it's it's got a really good feel to it the only thing I'm not so sure about and if anyone out there has played this game or has experienced with the other the previous like PSP Macross games let me know if there's a gold burst or something like that because I was fighting a boss earlier this morning and I he went into his mech form and I said all right I'm gonna go into my mech form and engage and I went in and I whiffed a move and he punished with a full melee string into a beam that did

100% of my life and I was like I actually felt like that was really unfair and I was like oh wait what was I supposed to I was I was trying to find a way out I couldn't find a way out so okay I need to try to read through that Japanese man I was gonna say you're playing in Japanese right the only yeah the only availability it is very straightforward to play but I need to see if there's some sort of burst or something because that actually felt really unfair and I didn't like that but otherwise I'm enjoying it so I'm gonna keep playing that about 10% through the game at any point have you switched up what ships you

pilot I'm not far enough yet three three of the ten missions were tutorial and six of them were I've been getting more people but not I got one other ship that I think is a mech that can't transform into anything but I haven't tried to use it because it the default form it shows in the garage is a mech so maybe it can transform but I'm scared because what if I get there and I can't fly yeah then what do I do I quit no I should probably look into if there's any of the macros games that actually let you control the giant macros ship like the actual yeah I fucking know space station I have no idea

stories those are the two stories that Charlie Murphy tells in any case though great episode of SNL the week I had was not super duper eventful I played some stuff that you know whatever I'm not done with you play the witness Westworld no because I need to know where you're at with that I actually took a break to go back to something that I fucking left alone for no reason which is not for no reason but for like I was too busy for it I went back to catalyst cool because yeah that's been sitting there for a minute yeah I dropped that at some point I'm not gonna go back to cattle that's fine it took me a second to get reacquainted

and I played a few missions to the point where I completed the entire skill tree and now it feels fucking great I'm really enjoying a couple of the upgrades that I wanted right away like like climbing pipes and ladders quickly fucking rules yeah well I hated how there were some like side missions you can't do it it's not even I well I blew an hour on the first side mission you can find that says run yeah like motherfucker that is impossible bring bring this statue to that to that guy yeah yeah yeah exactly no so those shouldn't unlock here the thing you can do it if you ignore the recommended path

yeah and no I fucking worked that path hard that one big is impossible without at least one upgrade the upgrade is the role when you hit the ground the that's yeah sure the pipe one makes them a lot easier the one that made me that was a big time you know what yeah I don't know if I ever described it but like what made me stop the game is that there was one that I was trying and I couldn't do and I had like a good deal of the movement upgrades and I could not do it at all and I was I looked at the like okay well what's the top time and the top time is 48 seconds faster than what I'm doing yeah okay the amount of

bronze scores I clocked in and and then and then I hit the view ghost and the ghost runs up grapples to the top of the building and then grabs the objective and I went okay yeah okay fuck off for me something of a percentage of them it's like the grapple hook just trivializes well without that because there's a some I did where I didn't see any grapple points I used the upgrades I had and I was still getting there within two seconds of the deadlock yeah definitely you know so it's like cutting it close with shortcuts you know but some of them are bullshit with the grapple you see it happen and you're like but you just

grappled yeah I really like they took the pinnacle from the first game and now broke it up into a number of platforming sections that you need to stop thinking just puzzle your way through and there's some areas of the map where I spent longer than I should have working it to get up to a view yeah I know exactly we're talking about and it's like you weren't really supposed to be up here there's nothing for you in some cases yeah but you did it so you're up here so hey yeah that's way down is to die city a glass sure is pretty I don't I don't like the city in the second one nearly as much as the first one it's not

a stark in its color it feels a lot more fleshed out and I don't know if I wanted that I don't like the first one felt like a regular city that was like a little modern that got painted over to the extreme like you mean like entire buildings one color entire blocks one color I don't mind though because I like the feeling of getting to know the city as a runner and feeling like okay this is where runners hot vision is recommending I go but I actually know this corner yeah you know you start to recognize it and then that's a good feeling I enjoy like these are my digs I can figure my way around without my runner vision you know

and I'm starting to get that in there you know stories whatever but they definitely took a page out of the Ninja Theory School of cutscene acting where it's like the performers are they're doing their job during the cutscenes and they're doing their job over the comms but you know the material is just kind of whatever yeah I found the what where I got to was kind of forgettable yeah I'm at the hacker girl and was like this plot is stupid yeah it's not stupid it's just like you know it's not gripping enough it's not gripping enough yeah November riots are still the crux it's there's a taking there's like a

fucking byline where they talk about what exists outside the city and it and it's like oh yeah and outside the city is like a fucking apocalyptic wasteland and like really that cool concept you gave one line to in this one thing I want to go they call it the gray lands and then they start actually referring to case of people yeah and stuff so the case case past excuse me but but like class warfare I don't want a little more overt but you know in any case you know still enjoyable mission which you prefer to play right now I'm I need to go further like to play just to play no in general which is a better game which do

like more right now I it's too early to say I can't until I'm gonna save one eventually well but the thing is is that the extra stuff I can do in to just gameplay wise yeah yeah white it is more advanced fucking great there is a lot of new stuff and I'm going to miss them if I don't have them yeah you know I was if he on the grapple initially but I'm like I'm like now I like it you know it's fine it doesn't feel intrusive the flow the flow system you know the the the entire idea of like at max speed you can't be touched and you have this this whole thing and you have the button for it there now on the console and not just

PC okay I have a great idea what if mirrors edge 3 you just gave her a gun that she had all the time perfect perfect game yeah 11 on 10 so anyway wouldn't really stop it I think that the there's an annoying thing to where it wasn't bothering me at first but now I'm just like I run across some guy use shitty user created like fucking beat path right and I'm like okay go to my legend turn these off oh shit I can't yeah you know I turned off the user things on the legend yeah you can turn them off on the legend but you can't actually turn them off in the world yeah that reminds me of Assassin's Creed

Unity where there's a set of these gold chests where you had to be connected to the Ubisoft server to open them right yeah I did the same thing with Infamous 2 where people people created custom missions that are terrible and you should never do most of them are really awful yeah I like Liam some of them were fun I hacked one of your screens and sure yeah no but nobody was like wow and I looked and I'm like hey look you had the exact same icon I did because the only way to change the icon is to go to mirrorsedge.com yeah which I didn't fucking do so it looks the same you know thank you for nothing I like I did go

to the site and check it out to see and it's like it is a quick process but it's still dumb that's like just let me make my fucking icon in the game that needs to stop destiny mirrorsedge Deus Ex human rare not human man kind of added for for what for my fucking the QR code shit you need the app on your phone oh I thought you meant like the the um no I don't mean the profile changing I mean like that that's way worse I mean like forcing you to go out into the app to get something that should just be on a splash screen like stop it stop it in any case at the end of the day I like to write when the worst bit about the Deus

Ex one was there should have been a fucking link to SoundCloud and the ps4 browser yep man like it's just a SoundCloud page yeah when when it's all said and done with data with mirrorsedge when it becomes a series of time trials that you're trying to perfect and everything else is irrelevant yeah because that's all you really want you could you could throw the story in the trash I'm gonna probably say to okay wins out on that just because the sheer amount of there are huge advancements yeah the the the amount of time trials the maps things to do and whatnot and like how fun they are to traverse is

just it's better you know so I'll finish it off and get a final conclusion on that at some point it's not not that long game so you should be able to tear through it if you just put your mind to it I also sat and rewatched Ghost in the Shell mm-hmm film yep the original movie and then the only Ghost in the Shell thing I've seen really okay yeah I saw it once but I was drunk so I don't know if that counts and I and I remember nothing most Ghost in the Shell media is worth it I think the new series is the only thing so far the people have been saying it's not great I'll arise oh I rise right yeah but I can confirm for you

that that Ghost in the Shell is great and immediately because I was showing it to my girlfriend we immediately popped on innocence right after and just watch both of them back to back sure yeah and I can tell you that standalone complex is fantastic solid state society second gig you know what I mean like yeah all them it's all the media is good the comic go read it it's a hard read but it's fantastic yeah um right right now for reasons I'm intentionally not reading it yeah but we'll talk about that later if you're curious okay interesting I guess if you wanted to just hit you fresh when it with the time yeah yeah exactly that's

fine I it's really interesting going back to it because you can definitely appreciate like you know the time and the the work that was put in early on for all of the influence it had on sci-fi and for the major questions because especially now that Westworld is happening and such for the major questions that it poses about you know AI and the future and cyber brains and bodies and things like that yeah it's funny how the actual source material the movie itself only has like two conversations about that stuff with the exception of the puppet master there's just one only comes up a little it only comes up a

little bit and the rest is just like it's just eye candy and you sort of thinking about that stuff you know whereas innocence it kind of like it smells its own farts a little bit and by the end of the movie every second line is a quote from a philosopher or some ancient work right literature and it's interesting because like possibly an adjustment yeah maybe it's a bad but but uh but uh my my logic is that like it's the major's influence as a super being on the internet influencing Bato and sort of like kind of having an effect on him because they remarked that like he starts to act like she did when

towards the end of when she left them you know and whatnot but either way yeah no it's sort of just interesting to go back and sort of see that and think about like all the things that's influenced that just took the idea and ran with it so much further but the source material I just always remembered it being like oh it's the deepest thing that it really analyzes the future of like you know where AI goes and stuff and it's just and it's like no it really barely does you know like especially considering like what the Wachowskis do with it and some of them are their messages with you know the matrix I

mean to my girlfriend like we're all on a simulation bro cloud cloud Atlas is what she knows the Wachowskis from yeah as well which if you haven't and you really good do it yeah if you have a hundred and I don't know I don't know if you've seen sense 8 by the way no but that's on Netflix I mean to check that I don't know cloud Atlas cloud Atlas is a good movie but I really liked it yeah it's worth a movie I think it's long but it's good boy so long it's like five movies it's like 12 hours and yeah no like I think that's that's pretty much what I did but I'll just say this it's funny because Ghost in the Shell one in

particular really really makes it so that there's a ton of nudity in it and I remember as a kid being like oh my god she's naked yeah I love mom see this right yeah but watching it now and the second time I watched it you know like however many years ago yeah it occurred to me and now it really really occurs to me it's so non-sexualized no it's like berserk it's so non-sexualized it's really really just meant to kind of like drive home the point that a body is just a vehicle yeah you're piloting and it doesn't fucking matter you know and it's even interesting to in the way they have one scene where the major she's doing

her diving and then she gets back on the boat and starts changing and back to kind of looks over here and goes oh it has a moment of oh my gosh she's a girl for like a second but it doesn't matter and it's until that moment happened all of her nudity was just irrelevant yeah she's just walking around naked who cares yeah and it's the complete opposite of the way she rose manga handles it where the original book is super duper about the sexuality of the character a lot of it's I own a bunch of his art books actually and yeah he's what he has done porn yeah but I own like a bunch of his Ghost in the Shell art books yeah and

like yeah he goes out of his way to sexualize like I'm gonna draw he's a very good illustrator like I'm gonna draw some Robo titties and you're gonna like it there's everything's really good up really really oiled up oh yeah a con came by and did some business but they and it's so interesting that like that in the in adapting the work you completely remove that and go the like 180 on it and it stays faithful and I feel like that's like the the core of the story is what they kept you know what I mean more I mean as far as the first movie which I've seen I feel like that's all they kept more than more so than the

like why would you bother keeping that other stuff it's not really exactly or to the essence of Ghost in the Shell as far as I know so and one of the things that always struck a chord with me as well was like the one voice that I thought was like really well acted in the original dub oh no voice of the puppet master okay hold up it well I mean it's still absolutely okay just making sure fucking amazing that that sounded like a build-up to like all the voices are terrible oh no the voices are bad dub voices I've never heard it in English at all so the voices the voices are totally bad dub voices man that

that I am a robot garbage man who's like family never existed is just like what but my wife and child I love her it's really really man that was on point I believe that that's exactly what that sounds like but the no the puppet master sounds fantastic it like specifically in that moment where he comes on art it comes online for the first time and I remember that that image being so striking because it's in this female dolls body with the arms ripped off and the legs ripped off and it's just like on a table talking and I watched that trailer for I guess another dub that was done and it's replaced with a generic

robotic girl voice for this really important character and I can't believe how thoroughly it ruins everything it's amazing okay that's how it ruins everything yeah well local anime dub ruins everything yeah thankfully in a sense you know I mean I went in watching the Japanese and I got to enjoy Solid Snake as Batou and that's all I needed so same guy yeah yeah that's in fact that's where he does everything that would have been before which is that before Metal Gear in 1995 yeah so before Oscar does so God damn much he was yeah Oscar was Batou before he plays multiple concurrent characters in

certain arcs of EPO which is super weird like he'll play a boxer and then he'll play the other boxers manager in the exact same voice and you're like I don't and what's cool too is that old man voice that you that that you get to play it a lot like I think the Saratobi in Naruto and also possibly the the chief in this is Otsuka's dad okay I believe and so it's like one of these things where it's like yeah this voice acting old man power combo power combo yeah used to playing off of each other when he comes in you're like whoa yeah so I guess if you're yeah you're staying cold yeah I want to have a fresh reaction I actually

really want to read it but I'll get to that in the future I am so consistently baffled by my own indifference to both to not just ghost in the shell but to Blade Runner and Snatcher as well huh I don't give a fuck and that makes no sense because that's exactly what I should want you should be obsessed with it I should be I should be that guy the guy who's got the man remember that time in Blade Runner I only watched the Ridley Scott cut or do you know that fucking shit but no I just don't care I find Blade Runner boring to tears to watch so I have problems with Blade Runner but it's not that it's boring

yeah but like that's another discussion at the Unicorn dream no it's it's the acting yeah a lot of the time well they're robots to get it yeah but the setting is my favorite part of Blade Runner is the opening shot and the like everything about it is super good yeah but I just find I find the acting is rough and like not just replicant acting I mean the acting no they're all everybody who's bad in that movie secret replicant well there you go uh blood what about the good guys yeah they couldn't be secret secret replicants I have I have read that book I did thoroughly enjoy the old PC game though

where that game is that good is that it's a point-and-click CG game and I had a lot of fun doesn't that game have a realistic sense of time like events will play out I remember in an interview before the game came out they talked about how if you were to certain point the game things would be happening but that might just be event and trigger based right no it's definitely trigger based from what I remember okay I was really young though and like it's been a long time so I can't confirm that it holds up but I definitely remember it being a pretty damn good CG game and a pretty fun point-and-click that's worth

your time and might be a better way to experience Blade Runner perhaps probably I don't know probably uh yeah but anyway I was gonna say when you do eventually get around to reading Ghost in the Shell yeah be warned that the book has pages that literally are just panels of text yeah I can I do I own like four different art books and one of them has a lot of like original sketches and then pages yeah and I've seen that already in some of those pages it's insanity it's yeah it's the events and the plot that happen are completely secondary to the world-building that shiro wants to do yeah and it feels as if well to quote

digi bro because did you know like has a really great video are summary of the whole series I hear everything and he's really into it like yeah the characters in this all all this these events occurring exist it just as an excuse for him to introduce you to this world sure you know so and you really and there's parts of the the second one especially where they just like oh yeah by the way these events happen that are like really important to the plot innocence or sorry the second or the second comic of the second man goes in the shell to the right as a the second manga yeah there's because that's the point where like he

has been a long time star citizens in a fairly unique position because the amount individual backers are giving on average is way higher than other things yeah there are people thousands that are not uncommonly spending thousands of dollars and those people I would say have a right to get a little pissy when you go we're gonna delay it for your due to quality or whatever and it's vague and unclear and you're like yeah I don't think it's a scam but there's part of me that could really feel like it is and I want that part to shut up I now I believe they have a big upcoming public version yeah well the story is is

basically that star citizen has been going through lots of delays and every time an announced theoretical release date would happen for a big patch it would get bumped and pushed back for various reasons internally and such so to sort of like quell that to some degree the plan is now to reveal publicly the dev schedule honestly yeah I saw that I wish more companies would do this it's an interesting experiment because as the guy who made the quote rightfully says no matter how much he says that a date is tentative yeah it doesn't matter it turns into gospel right yeah so people looking at this might think still

that it's gospel even though he's expressly trying to tell you that I think it's great for them because they're in the most I don't there's never been a development that goes like this where the budget gets bigger and bigger as time goes on super weird the game's been split into two games more or less there are multiple studios around the world with contracted work from Montreal to China literally a 2m or what are they called now be past a mouth behavior yeah behavior for them like like there has never been a situation like this so I kind of respect them being that open because they have to but I wouldn't want

every independent developer making their Kickstarter game to have to because like dates are tentative and people don't get I agree with everything you said but at the same time boy I really wish yeah because I want the knowledge yeah not even purely from like a consumer point of view like on a purely business level Kickstarter says that the customer is now the publisher also and publishers get milestones so that makes sense like on a like a pure replacement but also from Mike curiosity I want to see what the fucking timeline is yeah I want to see why a delay happens and what got what's holding it up and know me and not not to

internally I seriously doubt it's like the proper development version I imagine it's one that got cleaned up a little bit for public well for example there's a timeline here that's just called tech slash systems and I can tell you that I think this is extremely fair to put out because you don't need to know that Richard in accounting it's gonna be three weeks well enough money for this thing to be viable there there's actually that's a lie because they have enough money for anything there's a there's a point where like the information becomes meaningless because there's too much of it like the nitty

gritty like no yeah it's like what what had got held up this week character models don't work properly in this engine with this variable oh that's interesting fix it so yeah at the end of the day this is still a client facing version of the schedule they have in the wall at this is like a ridiculously fair this is the one that would fit on a whiteboard so ton of transparency yeah like what's it called obsidian the the guys that I talked so much about they recently came out and said for their like tyranny has really long load times or it did and they came out and they explained like okay so this is the

weirdest bug ever for some reason the the fucking program in unity that we used to load our character portraits yeah pings a fake server it thinks that there's a server to ping and if it can't find one it hangs yeah creating long load time that's a really cool they're like we fix it for pillars but at some point we forgot that that problem existed because it's stupid yeah and it's back in this build we'll fix it next week basically I love that level of transparency I love when a developer says okay no here's here's what happened when they go these character models freak out when we put them on the c-axis

there was a old story in War the Warcraft I think Jeff Kaplan told it where they wanted to change around some of the environment in the barons and they discovered there's a rock that if you move it the server crashes and they were never able to figure out why but if you move that rock at all from that spot the server freaks out due to some cascade of minor bugs so you get a dev update where the tone is basically guys guys guys get this yeah check this out yeah really cool if you spin the character three times counterclockwise and then jump the server reboot is that some crazy shit we can't even figure out why

it does that that's crazy don't do it that's the fix yeah so yeah it launched on Kickstarter October 18th 2012 yeah so it's been it's been over a full four years now four years in yeah what do you got to show for it some pretty planets well pretty ships pretty very pretty semi-functional stuff some of it some of it quite far along but I feel like this game is doomed to fail not due to the efforts of anyone involved but because it's too ambitious hey man they got hello games employees on the case now I think that was one of the stupidest things

one of the people here over here enjoyed ourselves like you know who didn't do a bad job at hello games who are the programmers no like you know who didn't do a bad job all of the artists no it's like a bad job 80 plus percent it's coming in did amazing it's that wonderful form of blame that at the longer it goes on the more you can narrow it down to you shouldn't have said all that stupid shit yeah and like the well the thing I don't like though now is I saw some people targeting this guy who went to join the Star Citizen team ridiculous fucking ridiculous well the idea that having this on your CV is

Japanese voice actors for P4 and all their spin-offs have stayed consistent yeah not so I want it cuz like I just want the original that's it well your big way about this what you like oh well honestly there was a I think I talked about once there was a there was a survey in Famitsu I want to say three years when the last of us came out around that time and it was what language do you like to play your games in Japanese people and the overwhelming answer was the original language yeah like they wanted last of us in English yeah with sucks and I think for me it's like when I hear voice acting in a

eden in syndicate yeah there was a new piece of eden and well at some point in like brotherhood or fucking black flag or something they just go yeah there's the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of them and then the idea like that oh fuck off and the idea that like uh the final bit of like etio's life and all that stuff and the if you remember like how things were set up to like yeah well i saw embers the and then fast-forwarding to kind of show like a lot of this setup was just a message for not you you're not important for other people it's for this other guy that was cool that's how you find out those other people aren't important either and now you just play as generic upstairs go employee man who goes into the thing so i think in the last one you didn't

wall breaking shit and you have characters have dream sequences in their vision so just following this secret history yeah and and you change through the end is different perspectives of history and it's exactly the same it's exactly the same especially black flag where nothing mattered at all but but you don't have that thing but it's also like it's part it's like their UI is now ingrained I and the UI is Abster goes UI and you can't like it's they're in a weird place I don't think they need to well they're going to regardless but I don't feel that like that contrast of having the modern day and then the past is inherently bad I feel like it can be done well and I think Westworld is a perfect example yes yeah of how that device works and can work and I wish it was

friend of mine who plays the dota and that has to be the worst place in the world i can only imagine dota players are the worst yeah i'm glad i don't play i don't think i've ever actually been turned off of a game because of it ever oh you know yeah it usually it's just kind of like opt out ignore mute whatever the case there was a really rough one where like it wasn't even there was it wasn't the toxicity but like the mere fact that playing early killer instinct meant that people that had their connect plugged in as everyone did back in the early day automatically had a mic on so you were hearing everyone's babies and everyone's families and everyone's everything and shitty music all the time it was worse than people like actually griefing you totally totally war

the warcraft as well war the warcraft's like the warcraft had this really hard divide between casual and fuck you raid seven nights a week and dealing with the lower form fine average right dealing with that upper echelon of like i want to play the game more seriously but i have to deal with these psychos like the worst just the worst hardcore raiders like no lifers are consistently terrible in every mmo they're goddamn awful and i'm not talking about the ones that actually get their world firsts those people tend to be pretty friendly but the ones that are just like we're gonna put we're gonna run this raid every single fucking night we're gonna do it and uh i like a friend of mine's in a private link show with some of these people on our server and there's one guy

who's just he just screams at you if you make any mistakes and it's like but we're learning the fight it's like no he screams but you hate him you made mistakes and just no i didn't fuck you you piece and every vile thing under the sun and but it just it's this very specific design element that corrals this type of person together into a group a group of people that are assholes in this specific way that are just the worst it didn't push me away from it because i didn't love it in the first place but um there is a group of people in montreal who play monster hunter who were huh at my i don't know that i say jeb uh and when toky den was coming out they were the biggest assholes in the world and i was friends with one of them oh they're

and ever but i don't think anyone's really succeeded at it uh so the the canon ending i like but it's very difficult because you rarely get a sequel that can safely ignore the events of the prior game without looking like you're just spitting in someone's face the only game that i can think does the vague thing properly is the witcher because witcher one two and three are witcher one is about a city witcher two is about a country and witcher three is about an entire continent and like a world war basically and it escalates so like in witcher two when you're dealing with the issues of multiple nations the mind the relatively on the grand scheme minor events that you dealt with in the prior game all that matters is that a shit show occurred and shit

went down yeah and that would make sense to affect the rest of it negatively regardless of any specifics of how it played out in witcher two regardless of how any particular problem you solve the point is is that the shenanigans that you went through weakened those nations and allowed them to be invaded which is what the premise of witcher three is so you get to have your and there are minor carryover decisions like one character's alive and one character's not but then they just have like one line of dialogue that's just like oh that's enough to hand wave right and and it feels natural it doesn't feel weird it just feel like your prior story was ignored but that's hard because you have to jump the scale up so much that the former quest didn't

matter i we've always seen bad examples like mass effects yeah but i feel i to be clear i haven't played two or three at all no no that was that was like you nailed it that's you shot the gun person human revolution to mankind divided did it pretty well as far as picking an ending go it's a little odd um because the ending starts before the ending yeah it was it is a little odd but it's fine but i haven't really seen too many good enough upset with that and i as someone who played both of them i felt like it was fine yeah um starting before the ending is an interesting way of fixing it uh they go actually there's a secret fifth path that we that was not available to you and this is your cannon now yeah uh i like violently prefer that you pick one and stick with
