Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh wait, hold on, it just, it just came back, alright, I think these mixers are making me thirsty. Shit, I wanted to do a thing. Oh no. We'll do it right now. Tarkis! Tarkis! Tarkis! Tarkis! Tarkis! Tarkis! Tarkis! Tarkis! Oh man. Just as effective even if you do it. I was playing 14 with my buddies last night and I just look at my phone for funsies and I just like, everyone cracks up when I say, wooly is just retweeting himself over and over and over yelling Tarkis and bumping it and just like, no you're not listening enough. This tweet isn't getting enough mindshare. No, there's nothing better than that fucking picture of Majima doing this hype dance in the middle of the Yakuza town and everyone has this bad turn like when you make a fire tweet but no one cares. Man, I don't know if you understand how much it pained me. Whoa, we're getting weird. Wooly sounds like he's in an echo chamber. Now you sound like you're a huge man. There we go.
Starting point is 00:01:36 No. Okay, there we go, hold on, hold on, we're okay. Oh man, this is live mixing. You're basically Skrillex staff punk. No, don't. EDM. EDM. What is EDM?
Starting point is 00:01:50 Electronic dance music. Then why do I think? As opposed to. Even doom music. Because episode one stage one. Okay, well, EPDM. No, I think it's some stupid meme. Yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Damn, my brain. What I was trying to get at though was the recording of that episode and then the silence until it went live was painful. It was tough, man. Because I'm like, that was such a fucking amazing moment and I have to hold it in. It reminds me honestly when I was talking to like Taka like a year ago and he had just started playing Persona 4 and he was just shitting his ass all over about like, oh my God, this is great. Like Taka, it's like the game came out in 2008. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right?
Starting point is 00:02:39 And he's like, I got, oh man. Like, yeah, we know and similar with you with DS1. No one told me. Like that game came out in like, like 95. Because it's a genuinely amazing moment that happens that no one told me about. There's been no even hints or spoilers about it. That's been just hidden in the solsoverse. And it's one of the strongest things ever.
Starting point is 00:03:10 It's because there's no receptacle. The receptacles for your hype are closed because it's been years. So you're trying to shove your hype into other people's thing and they're like, no, I'm full now on that particular thing. So you got nowhere to go. Everyone started sending me footage of the moment when it was recorded on the Japanese release before the game came out and another guy freaking out. But it was fantastic. It was just this amazing like, this was pure. There's a lot that I haven't seen, but I at least got hints about.
Starting point is 00:03:38 You know what I mean? Like, I've heard the word moonlight butterfly. You know there's a man made out of skeletons. And you know, the references in the future games, but that was the most amazing thing that I had was completely culled on. I think that may be the only thing Matt has retained from that episode is I'm a dead guy made out of other dead guys. I'm a skeleton made of a thousand, I'm a dead guy made of a thousand dead guys yesterday. Oh, that's real fucking neat. Hey, what up, man?
Starting point is 00:04:04 Man, I'm much dude. I didn't sleep. Yeah. I come in today. I always know when I see one of these. Like, I come in today and I go, Hey, well, how you doing? I got my drink, right? And he looks at me and says, Can I ask you a favor?
Starting point is 00:04:16 And I go, there's a part in my chest that goes every time someone looks at me and goes, Can I ask you a favor? There's a part in your chest that goes, Oh, no, is this going to be like a big one? And he's like, Can you get me a drink and a coffee? And I'm like, Oh, no, I can get you a monster though. And he goes, Yeah, because I don't go, you know, sleep. Okay, great, great. Awesome. That's where we're at.
Starting point is 00:04:39 We're going to Minecraft this podcast. It's really bad because it's literally called a monster rehab implying that you're in. Do you remember there used to be a fucking rehab energy drink called cocaine until like, it had to stop being called that. Yeah. It's called for loco. Well, look, man, I think, you know, if you had a brand of energy drink called LSD, like someone out there is like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:05:04 Yeah. I think it's about that time. You know, Capcom came out all those, all those energy drinks like T virus antidote, because it was so stupid to call something that the T virus, like, why would you drink that? No, it's an antidote. Are you implying, sir, that I'm already infected? So they should have been called the T virus vaccine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Yeah. They should have released. What was the name of the energy drink in DMC? Vitality. Oh, okay. My brain's virility, virility. My brain says slurm. Slurm.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Because it is slurm. My brain goes to slurm too. But yeah. Capcom should have come out with virility and they should have come out with glow from street wise. Amazing. Glow is terrible for you. Drink it.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Oh, but it's a street drug. It'll kill you. It'll enhance sexual performance. And while we're at it, drink chronicola. Man, that would be a great commercial because it's basically an axe commercial. And then at the bottom, it's like, does not increase sexual performance? Will may cause impotence. May cause blindness.
Starting point is 00:06:09 There's that ad in one of the old killerings of comics where it's like, never thought you could afford to eat meat again, eat ultra tech gourmet sticks. And it says contains 100% real beef eyes, hooves and gums. Those examples are always just the most extreme commercialism parodies. Robocop commercials. Yeah. Robocop, fucking Starship Troopers. Oh, Starship Troopers and Transmetropolitan are the three best.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Yeah. I love you Starship Troopers. Extreme commercialism to the point of absurdity. I would buy that bug for a dollar. Nailed it. You did. I did it. And with that, you have earned yourself the right to talk about your week.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Oh, man, my week was not all that special. Let me think. I played a lot of For Honor. Shocker, I know. And we're at that point. All you fuckers are on PC, eh? Yeah. Yeah, I'm fucking, I'm playing and I'm, it was a really weird thing where everyone was
Starting point is 00:07:13 going PS4 and then at the last second, every single person I know switched. And I committed and I got, you know, I'm leveling up and I'm going in there and I'm like, man, it really looks like everyone's. You play not that bad. No, it just looks like everyone's logging in on PC. I'm on PC. I'm on PS4. No, I'm on PS4 too.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Yeah. Well, I haven't been on PS4 and I haven't on Xbox One because I forgot I preordered it on PS4 digitally. Yeah. And then I was like, oh, I just bought a disc of it on Xbox One just because I saw it there. Because I really didn't think about it. Because I saw like Bunny and Bunny Hop and you playing on it. Did I talk on the podcast about what a bitch Bunny is?
Starting point is 00:07:52 You did. All right. He's a massive bitch and doesn't like to get thrown off cliffs. I love you, Bunny. Bunny Hop. And then unsubscribed. No, don't do that. And I saw Plague signing in as well.
Starting point is 00:08:02 And I'm like, fucking everybody's on the God. Well, Plague's Plague. Everyone made you think don't play Ubisoft games on PC. And just when you were like, oh, no, I shouldn't. Everyone jumped back into the pool and Woolly went the other way. He tricked me. Now remember, Plague actively hates video game consoles. And video games.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Yeah, and us. But so I guess it's just dumb, but I'm like, I guess I have to like, well, because I don't want to progress on both. You know, so I got to pick one. And I've already started it out on PS4. Googly's over on PC as well. I have like, I have like progress on every version of Overwatch. Yeah, that's weird.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Yeah. I guess I'm going to make a switch. I have progress on the unreleased GBA. So there's a couple of things about For Honor that I don't like this week. Oh yeah, me too. I'll talk about this. Number one is boy, there are some, I thought I was a whale with the Overwatch costumes, but those are big fancy costumes.
Starting point is 00:08:55 There are people that must have spent $1,000 at the gate within the first week of the game's launch to get the gear that they're running around with, because there are, there are, you can get your player out in some bullshit in Dominion. Like the gear stats available to you can make your character like twice or three times as strong as other characters. It's fucking crazy. Aren't there like a lot of bonuses for the getting the Super Elite Collector's Edition? Not really.
Starting point is 00:09:24 No? Because I did. Because I assume that like you'd be getting like all those crazy costumes and stuff from that. No, it's, the things you get with that is like the Sunbeam Emote and shit like that. Okay. But like, like there, there, I remember fighting a guy and I hit him three times and he popped revenge.
Starting point is 00:09:40 And it's like... Well, he needed it at the time. Fuck. And other, other characters can stack all their stats on revive and they can revive like that. Yeah, right, right. And the game needs some tweaking. Rainbow Six Siege apparently came out in a similar fashion with like server issues and
Starting point is 00:09:58 balance issues. Galore and Bunny won't shut up about that fucking stupid game. So hopefully they fix it here. That being said, boy, I don't really care about boy, boy fucking Warden and PK are fucking ruling the roost right now. It's bad. It's really bad. Like, like PK's like ability to harass you as the, as there, you're supposed to with that
Starting point is 00:10:24 kind of character is really annoying. Um, I feel like they're going to need to do some balancing on like overall systems. Like they're changing the, how the guard break works. And that's nice. They put an impact to the better version, but like they need to do something to the way like blocking works, because as it is right now, if you have a PK and the other guys at PK don't swing, who it's, it's a Honda match because whoever does it first will get parried.
Starting point is 00:10:52 So it reminds me honestly, like, like, because fighting with the berserker where you can dodge and whatnot, you're, I'm generally fine. But when I, when I'm trying to learn other characters that are more reserved, you threw me out there that are more reliant on blocking. Uh, when you, when you, and you're dealing with a spam, it reminds me. Oh, yeah. Thank you. It reminds me.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Okay. All right. No, I'm done. I'm done. I'm sorry. It's, it's fighting Cody in Street Fighter four. Um, PK in your face is, uh, basically like Cody's frame traps and she's doing frame traps to you.
Starting point is 00:11:29 And it's like, Oh, now's a good time to hit a button. No, I lied. Nope. Maybe not. And the, and the worst part about that is like against all the slower characters, like I'm getting to the point where it's like, I can parry that a hundred percent of the time and so can everyone else. Cause I'm not all that good and I can get counterbroken a hundred percent of the time.
Starting point is 00:11:48 That's, that's where fakes come in. Right. And that's where your fakes come in. But the real motherfucker, the fucking, I can't believe this is the fucking warden vortex. The, have you gotten caught in the warden vortex yet? The fake vortex. It's not a fake vortex slash slash shoulder tackle slash slash shoulder tackle. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:08 You're forgetting the third part of that vortex. And that's if you hit square during the shoulder tackle, you go into a guard break. And if you're dodging, guard breaks are unblockable and cannot be tacked. So slash slash shoulder tackle slash slash dodge to avoid the shoulder tackle, get thrown slash slash. It's, it's a real vortex. It's fucked up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Well, I mean, I mean, warden is meant to be, you know, like the easiest baked in mix up character. I'm trying to push law bringer because he's cool, but boy is he shit. Boy is he shit. That sucks. Cause I like water. He's so cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:46 No, I'm, and it's, there's a lot to learn though, the way that to make him viable. Um, and it feels like he's almost a little bit too honest compared to the rest of the year. Yes. Honest. And that's, that's, it's the weirdest thing. Cause everyone else has no honor. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:01 You're trying to work with him. And it's like, no, all of his best things have a huge startup. The only thing that I found that he is just better at everybody than his throw game is fantastic. The best. Yeah. He's, he's a grapple character almost. He, he throws you more than twice as far as all the other characters.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Absolutely. And he gets guaranteed anything if you touch a wall during that. And his, and his ability to position you is better than all the characters as well. Absolutely. Which makes it extra wonderful when, uh, at four a.m. last night, I went on a fucking Twitter thing because every game I played that night, every single duel, I threw a guy off and every single guy started to get fucking pissed off and salty and rage quit. Wow.
Starting point is 00:13:47 My personal favorite is I fought a nobushi and he won. He, I got one round on him and he won and he goes, it's such a shame you resort to cliffing. If you didn't, maybe you'd learn something. That's an anomaly. He said that. Yeah. And then he, I want to re-match me left and I'm like, it has been more than 20 years
Starting point is 00:14:08 and we are still here at throws are cheap because now you're throwing out of bounds. We are still here. It makes me so I like bunny hop who's a smart guy who should know better would like be sad when he won by throwing people off of cliffs because it's not honorable. No, you know, you know what I got into? It's part of the game. I got into a bunch of shitty fights with my in my first matches ever with the was it with the heartless?
Starting point is 00:14:34 No, in my first deck, kid, in my first matches with Shrek, I learned with or against against Shrek. Okay. I learned the hard way that you should not stand anywhere near those water geysers anywhere because his ability to baseball swing you into them is and if and if you're in power, if your feet are not planted and you touch that shit, you're dead. Yeah. So what you do is you make the fight come to you or you go to him and you make you don't
Starting point is 00:15:06 commence the duel until you're in the safer spots, you know, and you just and so like if you don't like the cliffing, then force the fight into an area that's safer than that. So my, my favorite part about this is playing like with some pals of mine and doing duels and I they're not quite as good as I am. So I throw them off the cliffs all the time for fun, right? And they go, oh, I hate this stage. It has so many of the, okay, fine. Next stage.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Oh, I hate this one. And we rotated the whole map list. Guess what? There are no stages that don't have instant death hazards. They all have instant death hazards. Uh, yeah, you mean the old, the old, if it's a buzz saw or just fire, the only one is the cathedral with the internal the hallway, I was going to say that, but that is one round out of five.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Yeah. So what you're saying is like people are complaining or like casual people, at least they're complaining that there's no final, no true final death. Do not turn this into Smash Brothers. If people complain hard enough that a final D tournament room gets made, I hope all of you get fucking blown up in your home. I'm in two minds with about this, because a, when there's like a, you know, old timey duals against guys, there has to be some point in history where two dudes fought on a hallway
Starting point is 00:16:23 and that's all it was. Yep. But at the same time, this is war and in war, there's fires and bullshit around. There's a guy named, I think his name is fighting cowboy. He had a lot of stream footage I watched before the game came out and he tossed, we just tossed people left and right. And he made the excellent point that the game is called for honor, not with honor. You're fighting for honor.
Starting point is 00:16:47 You're murdering so that you're cool and big. That is true. I didn't think about it that way. Yeah. Like if, if like this, the cliffs are one thing, but there are fucking walls that just have fucking raw spikes on them. But if you, if you push a guy into some bullshit or you pretend to be hurt and when he comes to help you, you throw sand in his eyes, that's right.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Can you gain on? Yes. Absolutely. Yeah. Okay. As long as you're alive at the end was giving you the honor, do you go to the honor store? Yeah. You honor yourself.
Starting point is 00:17:19 You take the honor yourself. I took my honor by being alive. We're people watching you. Yeah. And now that honor gets converted into a renown. Yeah. Yeah. Straight up.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Now, now here's the thing is they also wanted in this game to have situations where you are being backed into a corner, whether it's a cliff or fire behind you, or in some cases, depending on the character you're playing as a wall, it's just a stage, right? And if, and then they, then the fucking raider comes in with his big, dumb tackle to finish you off and you sidestep and then he's done. Yeah. So the, the, and, and in a game where they have things like Shugoki's ability to instant kill you when he's in a crit situation, they want these positional things to keep everyone
Starting point is 00:17:57 on their toes, no matter what you're doing. Yeah. And they're really crazy about the anti-stage hazard stuff. I mean, like, then you might as well remove Shugoki raider and a law bringer from the game because their gameplay revolves around it a bit like Shugoki and raider in particular without the ability to throw you off cliffs. You might as well just delete those characters right now because that's half of their game plan and why they're about what they're balanced around to some degree.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Yeah. Um, you know what the best one is though, when you push somebody up against the cliff and you know they're going to try and like deque you out and throw you backwards and you just tech them and the tech knocks people far enough backward that I feel like that's very intentional that the tech throws them backwards because every time it happens within two or three feet of a cliff, the person who tried to throw you gets thrown off via the tech. I wonder if the throw distance affects that throw distance is, is, is poorly named throw distance is actually the distance away from your character that the throw can activate.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Not how far you throw. Throw range. Yes. Yes. It's a terribly named thing. It's so stupid. Um, I was going to say that I've, uh, because, because we're talking about how law bringer is like, oh, God damn it, you have to work on that.
Starting point is 00:19:15 But I'm like, you know, but, but because Mike thing is like, I just like, but I like the way he looks. I like the style. So I'm learning it anyway. And it's the same for the Valkyrie where I like picked the Valkyrie and I was like, this is completely different from what I expected of the character, what I expected, but I love the way she looks. I'm going to, I'm working on it.
Starting point is 00:19:32 She's getting massive, massive buffs. I can see why. I can see why her attacks are terrible because it's no, it's, it's like, and it's supposed to be her one of her main things, but it's just like, um, no, no, not one of her main things. Sorry. But it's like, she's also got the problem of being slightly too honest. And if you, in a game where it seems to be really bugging you, well, well, well, no,
Starting point is 00:19:51 no, it's too honest. They don't have enough tricks. Can you tweak my thing again? I seem to have lost my own. Yep. No problem. Uh, well, no, it's got to be that up knob. Oh, that's, that's the shit. I think we might need to replace this thing.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Um, yeah, we'll, we'll have to figure that out or dust off all those spider eggs or shoot it up and then bring it back down. We can figure that out. That's not the spider eggs first, but, but, uh, yeah, no, that's the thing is like in the, in, in, in this honorable game, everyone as a, as is in a K.I. Everyone's too much of a pure cinnamon bun. These two characters you're talking about long, but the rest of the cast have, at least have a bullshit, have at least like two gimmick things, you know, and these are
Starting point is 00:20:32 getting warden has their vortex, right? Or has their throw, Kansai has his unblockable, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And what these things are meant to be is they're meant to be highly predictable, uh, things that you go in looking out for these, you go like, this is what they can abuse. I know to look out for it and now I'm going to fight them around everything. And then it's like Zangief with the, with his throat, you know, he has it. He knows he has it. We both are aware and that's going to sculpt the battle.
Starting point is 00:20:57 But, but you're saying like law bringer and, and Valkyrie don't really have, they just have normal stuff. They, and the ones that they do have, like for Valkyrie, it's the sweep that knocks you down. It's not that good. And it's, it's not fantastic compared to other, other people's gimmicks. And for law bringer, it's, yeah, his throw range and his, and his ability to like position you where he wants to, but if, but if you can break a hundred
Starting point is 00:21:18 percent of all throw attempts, that's not all that useful or, or, or like in general, it's like the repositioning, it's not doing damage and also it costs so much stamina. So in the end, you're losing out to somebody whose gimmick is like, I can instant kill you or I can bleed you or I can poison you or I have a full body block or I can dodge and my dodge also creates a parry or I can dodge and attack you like there's so much. Or my, my up light is the fastest fucking move in the game and it auto
Starting point is 00:21:48 combos into itself. So that's what it is, is they need a little bit more scum on those two characters. I think just to give it some context, like I, I, I've been fooling around in the multiplayer for like maybe an hour top. So I haven't really gone really deep in there because I just like, this is how I always do like more games like this is like, if you do have a single player campaign, let me finish that first. And then it usually helps me apparently the single player gets like much better
Starting point is 00:22:13 Vikings, especially in bunny house review where it's like the Vikings are the only fun group in terms of like story because they're everyone else is like, iron brigade iron. Which is what's out of here. Knights, what is that? The doctor, Robotnik fucking iron brigade. Oh, it was Nixon. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:34 I was like, I haven't gotten to, uh, to, uh, Samurai Samurai. I saw that some of their environments are really cool, but also they are supposedly like not as cool as the Viking. And it seems like the most bombastic fun level, at least in the single players that the one we saw months and months ago, which is the Vikings just going into a Japanese samurai style, like compound base. And it's just like bunnies on his movie. It was like, this is so stupid.
Starting point is 00:22:58 It's the best. Yeah. I would, I would love for one of the DLC characters to be like cowardly brigand. Okay. Did you see that somebody found the coward class already? This is dragons. It's a, it's a goddamn paladin called the, the, what, uh, the oath breaker paladin.
Starting point is 00:23:17 It, well, yeah. It's like, or like whatever, like they're dedicated to lies and fucking tricking you and bullshit and running away. And this is their, this is what their order is, uh, is about. It's, it's story wise. Yeah. Well, it's their, but also since it's paladins, uh, their story is like mechanical as well.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Like you get buffs to cowardice. Okay. Okay. No good. Good. I mean, like, let's say you are a worshipper of the god of lies that lies to you are a, a holy thing. So you want to be the best at it.
Starting point is 00:23:45 It's like the worshipers to the god of, oh, I can't fight. Yeah. To like, like, like whatever, whatever the fucking soccer players gods are, whatever they worship or they fucking fall down and like, if I get, if I get asked for anything, it's like, I want a for honor rainbow edition or for honor, like Omega mode where it's like, there, there's a law, there's a law bringer and he's just like, uh, and like, you know, close to me, he just fits the acid.
Starting point is 00:24:18 Everyone's just got wacky dumb moves that make no sense as a special, like, or an event, you know, like a little go overwatch event. Yeah. It's like on April Fool's Day, it's like every, it's all mixed up. Like, yeah, like, just like, like I said, it's all wrestling, you know, just like, you know, that was really good. Oh, you got me. Oh, look at all my blood.
Starting point is 00:24:37 I'm just looking at my weapon like, I wasn't even, oh, I feel like you're so good. Oh, is this a shoot? Just down on the ground. Oh, I hope you can't move. Feel like you could easily adapt the for honor combat system into other kinds of combat. I think you could make a wrestling game with this system.
Starting point is 00:24:55 You can see that. Like, instead of a throw, it's an Irish whip. You could. Oh, then that'd be. Yeah, that'd be a unique wrestling control system for sure. I can't think of anything that has that. Yeah, I played a bunch for honor. I can't help but feel.
Starting point is 00:25:11 And like, I know it's just like, it's a fighting game. People are going to play. It is a fighting game. Don't be fooled. People are going to talk about that. Yeah, they're going to there. People are going to play their characters and learn them and such. But every time I see a fucking Arochi or or a Ken say, yeah, like, I always
Starting point is 00:25:29 just go, you fucking weave. Ken Ken say is adequately named fucking weebs Arochi in particular. Arochi seems to be like the fucking weeb squad assassin. Dejure we describe. I fought. I fought a guy who played an Arochi, a really bad Arochi with a Dominion. And he is fucking emblem was the Uchiha clan. Wally.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Yeah. And like the whole, like he just kept spamming the fucking dash back, like run forward slash like the cool Samurai cheat technique over and over. Now, Matt, do the Samurai at least have sheets? No, no one does. Important question. Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Are you a member of the proud Nordic race? I am. OK, good. Good. That's what that's what this house is about. Castle Super Beast. Not you not all are. Yeah, we are.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Castle Super Beast represents the fucking Vikings. I expect the one person to take nights. Nope. No, let's go blonde. Here's wide white people. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Well, Wally is really just showing his true colors now. When I'm showing my whole doll on Twitter and everyone's like, oh, you're Viking. I was like, how did you know? I'm like, oh, because of the shape of the shield. Yeah. If you're if it's round, it's Nordic. So the thing is, it's like every other night, a wolf and shit.
Starting point is 00:26:53 The Knights seem to play a lot of Crusader Kings and are very vocal about who they are on every social media platform. The Vikings seem to be more calm, but no one is admitting to playing the samurai. No one. Lots of people are. Despite the fact that they are by far the most populated fucking group. Unfortunately, the battle lines between the Vikings and the Knights have had to break.
Starting point is 00:27:18 I liked how early on in they were peaceful. It was very clear, like we're only waiting for what game mode is on green. Yeah. Everyone invade the weebs, you know, and like Knights and Vikings are like, yeah, you're fine, but now it's now it's starting to break a little bit, but it's still not that much, but they're like, it's story wise. Kevin, they're they can't be weebs. Oh, shut up.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Yeah, I get it. It's no, the players. You go to an actual Viking goes up to the weaver. They're like, really? I do like anime. No, here's the thing. I was all those characters are wearing masks. You don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:04 So don't for sure. Exactly. That's true. You don't know. That's true. Very true. They never showed their true faces. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:11 So many few people in the game do. So there's a Vikings show their faces. I really I really hope I really hope they do something with the faction war stuff because the current problem that I see is that it seems to be based around time zones and really what what time period the because there's a there's a chart you can find of like what what factions were tracking during the beta. Oh, and you can see that what's every single turn if the if the game ended on that turn there would have been a different winner because it really
Starting point is 00:28:42 really looks like they're actually split up amongst time zones because I don't know if you guys noticed, but every day I go in one person is winning and then you get the bonuses for fighting in your own territory. And then they not only win that, but then they push back into the other area. And like that's the thing is like it actually changes the aesthetics of the levels. And that's going to a lot. And I like it. That's going to be a thing going forward.
Starting point is 00:29:07 And that's actually a pretty fun twist on on the the game because it's a game mode. I wouldn't care about at all. You know, faction war and Mortal Kombat and all that fun stuff. But it wasn't that fun. No, it wasn't much. But in this case, it actually, you know, it changes the stage and if you're not familiar with why it changes the stage, it's primarily the nights get nice, bright, sunlit areas that are normal.
Starting point is 00:29:31 The Vikings get snow levels, snow versions, and the samurai get like foggy, like lush vegetation versions of the levels. And they're all fucking great. And I'm really glad because I prefer all the snow versions. So if if I'm doing well, yeah, I'm playing on my own stage. Apps that damn straight till Valhalla, brother. Woo. What else?
Starting point is 00:29:55 What else? The only thing of note that I can think of is that I stayed up late on, I believe it was Friday night to watch the Final Fantasy 14. Not a live letter, a fucking fan fest thing. They had the big event in Germany and where they now they finally finished that rolling out all the stuff in the expansion, like saying, like, here's what you're going to get. Here's all that.
Starting point is 00:30:19 And I seriously doubt you put it on the docket because neither you two guys give a damn fuck. But speaking of weebs samurai, it turns out that the, like the expansion is much larger than initially anticipated. And half of that expansion is going to be taking place in weeb town. Yeah. Yeah. I was okay with a samurai class.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Um, people are very excited for that samurai class. I didn't really notice like, I didn't realize how much people cared until we had a discussion with the raid gang and it's like, all of our DPS want to switch to samurai. Like you can't guys will never get a limit break ever again. You can't all be the same class. When there's a new class, isn't it like everyone just kind of goes, I all want everyone just wants to switch right away just to see.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Yes. And that's part, that's the only problem with this announcement is that both, there's three jobs. There's tank, healer DPS, both the classes they announced, red mage and samurai both DPS and this is a problem because when the expansion comes out, when you roll it, when you queue up for a dungeon right now and almost always it's, uh, there's not enough tanks to go around. You got to wait for a tank to be ready.
Starting point is 00:31:28 But now if everyone's going to be leveling these two DPS classes, the fucking queue is going to jump from like 20 minutes to like 45 maybe. So each DPS, it's your problem. Is it practical to have, um, multiple characters set up that you switched to depending on what your rate needs? Absolutely. Uh, well, practical, I don't know, uh, because like gearing, like having them leveled, if you put the time in, absolutely, having them geared, no.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Can you play the game like Overwatch? No, because you're going to, you're going to, you're going to take like whatever the class you decide or job you decide to pick and you're going to gear them up and they're going to be by far the most viable for everything. And you can gear up an alt, but that takes time and effort and will never catch up ever. That being said, Oh my God, I'm looking forward to this expansion. What a non-playing MMO guy question.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Yeah. Anyway, there was like Overwatch. There were some other like really goofy stuff there. I like that one. Uh, according to that event, which include, uh, included Nubu Amatsu coming out and having a chat with the new music guy that they have and telling these weird old stories about like what a fucking dirt bag the music producer for FF 14 is in which when he started in the company, he's like, I wasn't at
Starting point is 00:32:55 work at all that much cause I was gambling all day. Cool. And Umatsu would buy him dinner and be like, I don't know how this guy's going to fucking make it cause he doesn't do shit and he's broke all the time. And he go, you know what? You were my Senpai and you, you took me out to dinner. Umatsu, I really, you know, it was really thankful. And he's like, I was totally just using the company money.
Starting point is 00:33:19 That was not my money. Um, and just all sorts of weird stories. Like apparently back in the day, the new employees at Square Enix, when they got drunk, they would just take their pants off at bars. Sometimes you have to, well, look, I mean, like Umatsu goes to the bathroom and comes back and all the new guys just have no pants on. Well, look, Japanese Sankaset culture is, uh, you know, you're not supposed to talk about it because it lasts all night.
Starting point is 00:33:44 And then it just, you get, as long as you show up the next day, it's fine. Sad. I miss anything. Anything's acceptable. Since you're talking about music, sad. I missed the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds was here last week. And Umatsu was, yeah, it was. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Oh, so it's like, I learned about it when it was, when it was happening that night. Oh, I really like. That stuff. Yeah. Oh, well. Uh, yeah, not much else other than that. I didn't really watch anything all that new other than like that Red Letter Media Starship Troopers video is fucking great.
Starting point is 00:34:17 Yeah, I have it open, but I fucking haven't clicked play yet. Yeah, no, it's good. It's fucking great. What about you guys, man? Matt. Um, played a, played a couple, played a couple of games. I was mentioned to you, Willie, do you have these 3DS games? Did you steal my 3DS games?
Starting point is 00:34:31 What games is this? Missing Donkey Kong Country Returns. Oh, yeah, I stole that. You did not. Yep. I think Liam might have taken it. Um, and then Shinobi 3DS and I was like, I definitely stole that one. Anyway, um, on, on, on the plane, cause, cause it went to Vegas was like,
Starting point is 00:34:47 I'll just take on my 3DS long flight. And I started playing Shinobi 3DS again. I bought it when it come out. And I was like, is that just a port of the PS2? No, no, it's a different game. Okay. It's a 2D, a point, a 2.5D. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:34:59 And I remember being like, I really liked this, but why did I stop? I stopped cause it's incredibly, incredibly hard. Okay. So it is a port of the PS2 game in it's heart. On normal and everything. And I was like, I remember getting to like an environment and I was like in my head, it was like, it looked like a city.
Starting point is 00:35:13 I don't know. Dragon Sword was full 3D, right? No, it wasn't. It was pre-rendered backgrounds, like Resident Evil 1. Yep. And you just moved around a little polygonal, uh, Ryu. Dragon Sword is fucking weird. Dragon Sword is kind of fun.
Starting point is 00:35:26 I don't think I've beat that either. But Shinobi, I started playing, I was like, well, this is really good because it's made by Gryptonite, the guys that made, you know, that great Spyro game and a bunch of decent superhero games. And I was like, this is the game they made right before they got bought by some shit company and haven't released anything since. Oh, that's sad. And it's really sad because I was starting to play Shinobi 3DS again.
Starting point is 00:35:45 I was like, holy shit, let me knock down the difficulty one thing. And you know, it's one of those games that like every difficulty setting, like mixes and matches a bunch of fucking parameters. One of them is the most incredible I've ever seen. It's like reduced the amount of flyback when you get hit. Whoa, that's granular. I like it. Like in a Castlevania game, imagine reduced the or, or an interguiding one, two,
Starting point is 00:36:10 three. Yeah. And like, I started playing on this and like normal, I just couldn't get through it. So I bumped it down the lowest difficulty I could and it's still, I'm dying, but like it's still really, really fun game. I haven't been it yet, but some really, really awesome bosses. There's a gigantic mechanical Megalodon shark.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Like it's Shinobi bosses. And unless you fight Batman and Spider-Man, you fight Batman's that turn into Spider-Man's and literally Godzilla's in the old Shinobi's. So I played that a bit. I played Yoshi and Poochie's Woolly World on the 3DS as well. I'm going to say that I think this is better than the Wii U version. Just up with the best villain. What?
Starting point is 00:36:50 Nothing. The best villain. It's OK. OK. Sorry. I don't have someone got that. Are you sure you did? Well, are you fucking freezing right now?
Starting point is 00:36:58 No, I'm all right. OK, because I know you haven't taken off your hat, jacket or hoodie. He's got the baby. I'm in that mood. OK. Yoshi on 3DS just seems like it works better in a handheld sort of thing because they change the map to be much more linear. It's just a straight line.
Starting point is 00:37:13 If you remember when he played Yoshi's Woolly World a bit, it's like a huge like open area, like a Mario game. And it's just wander around. You're like, which level is which and the Poochie levels are actually really fun where Poochie is basically an endless runner, but you can make him go up, make him go down, sliding, needs to collect all those little Poochie like babies that I'm like, wait, where'd these babies come from now? I'm Poochie.
Starting point is 00:37:35 The lore is getting mixed up. What are they? Green babies, green babies. Yeah. They're they're dog babies. Oh, OK. Sorry. Oh, because you're Poochie.
Starting point is 00:37:45 So you're collecting your little rights and stuff. Got it. OK. So that that game was really fun. And I was like, why am I still playing and I've now gone more in it than the console version? So that was fun. I did play for honor, like I already described how much I've been playing.
Starting point is 00:38:00 And I was going to want to talk about the one aspect where I'm like, it's not a major thing. The gameplay is great. I have no problem with that. But I do kind of just wish like the game had more of a visual style in all the menus and UI. I find it just it's very Ubisoft. It's very Ubisoft.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Like that's kind of the problem. I know most of the games have this front end. But when we got Assassin's Creed, I always after a while, I think we all agree on this at some point where I'm like, I really wish some of this future stuff had been dialed back or something. I wish it had either been dialed back or kicked forward. Yeah. So when for all it was coming about, I was like, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Finally, the the the historical just just in that time period thing. We're going to use big air quotes on historical here. Historical isn't like no future shit. You're right. And yeah, big dumb fantasy cataclysm and stuff. And that's all fine. And I like that. But when you go into the menus and it's just very bland and I'm like, and I know
Starting point is 00:38:56 it's supposed to be trying to sort of maybe be any sportsy thing. It is really it feels implied that this is an obstacle game because it looks like their front end and it feels like their front end and the way people teleport in looks like the way things teleport in in the animus. And it's weird. And it Paul. A Polly on is really just a fucking like Ubisoft. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:39:23 No, it's a focused tested villain. Yeah, via Abstergo. OK, so what do you want the armor to look like? We want it to look like the raddest armor ever. Oh, OK, we'll put that in. Who? How do you fight back against such a menace? Dead set reality. Kings, you joke, but the dead sec icon is totally in there.
Starting point is 00:39:41 And shield and rainbow six siege. That one is bad. Why? That one is just the game logo. There are a bunch of people out there running around with samurai's with guns on their back. That one's stupid. So so just all the all the multiplayer stuff, like all little stats and things. I'm like, that's when you said, like, it's like a fighting game.
Starting point is 00:40:02 It is when you're playing it. Yes. But all that stuff just makes me go like I just kind of wish it was a little more simplified or just it looks like there is one you I complaint that I have was a month that annoyed me much bigger than I thought it was. And that is there's when the fucking way that you customize your characters, you get your character select screen and you click on them and then you go in and customize and in order to switch to the next one,
Starting point is 00:40:28 you have to back out to the characters like and go to another one. That actually wastes so much more time than you would expect. Also, those tutorial videos shouldn't be so buried. So hard. They're deep. They shouldn't be buried and they're important. Yeah, they're really important. Second list on the on the front end that you can get to through the tutorial help how to play section.
Starting point is 00:40:50 But I feel like those should be like loading the fronts. Just loop. No, when you put different characters on the game, they auto play. Yeah, basically, you know, every, every single time I looked at the advanced how to play video, I learned something new about the character that I've been playing for a while every single time. So yeah, it makes no sense why that's all buried in there. But talking about the character select screen, again,
Starting point is 00:41:14 I don't know if this is needed. It's just a thing I would have preferred to be. I'd actually prefer it if instead of like by class, like lawbringer or whatever, it would actually be characters, people, Ragnar people. And they would be that Joe, the lawbringer, Joe, the lawbringer bit like because because it's such a loot based gear based game. I know it's like you can't really have a base design sort of because it doesn't matter because we're going to change it anyway. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:38 But I almost kind of wish there were more like characters like holding cross. I know holding crosses as a lawbringer, but I kind of wish it was the characters from the game or they would have made more that are not in there. I mean, it's not a major thing. I just prefer like they basically are. Since you are, you can't change your faces. Right. No.
Starting point is 00:41:56 All you can really do is just decorate them and change your gender. Yeah, you can change your gender. But, you know, really, they could have just slapped a name on them to get what you wanted. And you would have like been like, yeah, that's the character in this age of like, you know, hero based, whatever, overwatches and stuff. Like I like the game as is. I just like wish a little I would have preferred more character than less
Starting point is 00:42:16 character, but I but I disagree on the name on the on the fact that the naming conventions for the characters are bad ass. No, no, they're cool. I love that. I love that I wish he was holding cross. You could have easily done the Kansai. Yeah, you can. The Erochi. But I am a fan of just the blank.
Starting point is 00:42:35 You know, like it's very Dota minor. I love that. I love it. It's very like Lich King Ice Lord shit. One thing I don't understand is playing single player since you guys saw a bit of it is like, I don't understand where some observables are. Nope. In the one area that we did where we fought the Valkyrie like little boss fight at the end, like the second mission.
Starting point is 00:42:53 That's just one big area. Yeah. And it's just in like the center square of like a of a castle. And I have it says there's five observables. I got three. I scoured the map. I made sure we waited until there was a mission objective where it's like, I can just do whatever I don't care.
Starting point is 00:43:11 And I'm going around the entire fucking map. I can't find it. I started thinking that I'm playing on normal. Are these locked? They may play on realistic. I don't know. I could not find a one thing that does bug me a lot is that all of there are a lot of really amazing looking character customization options
Starting point is 00:43:30 that are locked up behind harder difficulties in the single player. It's a multiplayer game. It's it really it really feels like locking characters behind arcade mode. Yeah. I was all right. Costumes costumes when I when I got the breakables, it said, you unlocked a new emblem thing. And I'm like, oh, OK, you can get stuff like that, the single player.
Starting point is 00:43:48 And just like you said, it is supposed to be a multiplayer. So it kind of sucks to like hide stuff. But I don't I don't see myself starting story anytime soon, maybe. But I feel like at the moment I just switch over to Neo when I want to do single player. I have that's why I started with I have not touched Neo like at all. A lot of people have been saying like I stop playing Neo once for honor came up. It every single time I sit down and go, I'm going to play some Neo. I'm like, but I should instead play for honor.
Starting point is 00:44:13 I've I've I've I've managed to alternate. But you but the for honor appeal is the fighting game appeal of but I'm improving myself. But but also like for honor has no time investment required. I can sit down to play four duels and be done. Yeah. In Neo, I can blow 90 minutes on a mission and get nowhere. You can. And you will.
Starting point is 00:44:32 That's the push and pull of a of a long ass. And I got and I got to say the the the the Neo like format of the stages and the non-connected thing, it bugs me a lot more than I thought it would. Like a lot more really a lot more. Yeah, because that I like the breathing on the on the on the map. I like to breathe. I don't know. He likes breathing. I also like to breathe.
Starting point is 00:44:56 It's important. It's I'll continue. I don't know. I just I don't find the world to be as interesting if it's not all connected. Connected wouldn't have I real. I mean, it's it's a nice thing that we've gotten used to. But I realized that it wouldn't have done much for me. You know, you got to the boss.
Starting point is 00:45:11 That's the zone. It's fine. I suppose. And really quickly, I've been playing surprisingly a lot of Brutal Doom 64. I know, I know. It's a bad name. Remember, we played Brutal Doom. Well, yeah, we played Brutal Doom. I do. Yeah. So what this is is a kind of remember how over
Starting point is 00:45:31 the top that was where you could do like fatality. Sure, do it influenced Doom quite a lot. There is there is a mod on the PC of Doom 64. Like for the 64. OK, we play Doom 64 at some point. No, not on the channel. Not we took a brief look at it. Is that is that the one that is like all almost completely unique?
Starting point is 00:45:51 Yeah. OK. Then this makes a lot of sense. Yeah. Yeah. So what it is is like, this is the same mod guy or similar people took that version of the game, Doom 64 and said, let's let's do this all over on PC. And it's like an incredible version of it, where it's really fast. You have full mouse look.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Sorry. There's like the all the graphics have been redone and it's really bloody. It's it's it's gory, but it's not over the top with dumb fatalities. It's just like added gore and it's not like too much. And I was just playing a bunch of it. And I was just like, holy shit, this is really good. This is really good because I love Doom 64. But of course, it's kind of like hampered by the N64 controller and just muddy resolution stuff.
Starting point is 00:46:34 And they still have some of that muddy resolution stuff, like the weapons. You can't are bad. And you can't have an N64 mod project and have everything look crisp. You can't have the environments all look crisp. Oh, it's just it's just the sprite stuff. That's not OK, which makes sense. But there's a new enemy type or at least I think it is in this modern version path that basically is one of the invisible pinkies.
Starting point is 00:46:54 I do. So they had that weird scan line effect. There is an invisible pinkies and invisible imps in this. But there's also another variant that leaves an after image. And when they move, you can't see them. But when they stop, you can. So it's almost like Fighting Wesker, where I'm down a hallway and I see an imp and I see it leaves the after image and I'm like, shit,
Starting point is 00:47:16 we're and then it just appears there. And I'm like, ah, Fighting Nightcrawler has proven to be entertaining in nearly all games. So I really have been enjoying playing that, been able to get a couple levels in. I'm just like, I'll play that again. Maybe tonight someone should mod it and put Yoshikake Kira in it or anybody. Yeah, literally that. Yeah. Did you guys see the part nine spoiler
Starting point is 00:47:42 picks of Sebastian Joestar? Yeah, that's great. The lucha door in fucking. What is it? Pro rest of Pro Rulucha? Whatever the fuck it is. Down there and he's actually wearing a banjo coat. It's dude. Fucking great.
Starting point is 00:47:58 I also saw really quickly saw split the. Oh, you saw it. OK, great. You want to talk about it later? You can just make sure I leave because, yeah, I don't know. Is the ending the fake the fake sounding ending that I heard? I'm going to say that. Yeah. What I will say is that I really, really enjoyed it. It's like it's actually like top tier.
Starting point is 00:48:19 I don't know where, but like this was a good movie. I enjoyed it. James McAvy is like fucking Macavoy. Macavoy. Sorry, I never know how to pronounce that. Crazy. Professor X. Yeah. So wanted. He was in Guantan. He's just incredible on this thing. And I just really enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:48:38 And if you do like M. Night Shyamalan movies, the good ones, the good ones, I suggest you go see it. You made a couple of really good ones. And this is up there. I'm really a big fan of Unbreakable. Yeah. Yes. I also like really quickly went to Las Vegas. I saw. Well, you didn't go very quickly.
Starting point is 00:48:55 It's a fucking. Well, I mean, I just to like very, very quickly want to go over this, but like I just went to W.F. W.E. Raw. Big thanks to Alex for hooking me up with that. Very, very just like, yeah, watching it. It's fine. And then the two moments of like Jericho breaking up was
Starting point is 00:49:16 I was I was freaking out during during that thing. And like I went immediately and bought a Kevin Owen shirt, like the Kevin Owen show shirt, like in the raw font. I really enjoy that. And Bailey winning was was amazing. Every time I've ever seen a live event, everyone I cheer for has lost, like badly. Like when I went to WrestleMania, Sasha Banks just got blown the fuck up. And when I I AJ Styles lost, like it doesn't make you want to go to more live shows.
Starting point is 00:49:42 It doesn't oddly. And when you have like a kid favorite, that's the thing I understand. That's maybe why John Cena wins a lot, doesn't win all the time, but wins a lot. Is that when kids go to see a thing and they like them, just like they like Bailey or or John Cena or anyone that's like kid friendly. Why would you ever have that person lose almost? I understand. The kids will cry and never want to go back to wrestling again.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Want to buy merch. Why would I buy merch now? I'll buy merch of give of. Well, because of the ongoing story and the fact kids don't want the redemption. I know, I know. But it just values what they value most. They value making more merch at that they're live events or they value ratings. They should value ratings since the ratings are so bad.
Starting point is 00:50:24 But regardless, I was really happy she won. And I'm I'm staying there with Alex and and Leanna. And she goes, what's who's Bailey? Like she's not into, you know, that granularly. And I go, oh, she's like kind of like a female John Cena. She's just like, yeah, I can do it. She's like, that's really lame. Who would ever vote for her?
Starting point is 00:50:44 Who would ever cheer for her? And I go, wait a minute, give her a minute. Wait for her entrance. And she's like, why? And Bailey Cozard does her entrance on like the sixth giant inflatable wacky like floating arm guys from parking lots come up and she goes, oh, no, OK. Yeah. Yeah. No, that's strong. I didn't know who this character was until you just said that.
Starting point is 00:51:04 But I like this character now. It's just six inflatable, wacky armed guys that she dances with. That's her. I love it. It's very strong. Innocent wacky fun. Yeah, exactly. What hotel did you stay at? I stayed at the Flamingo, OK, which had flamingos.
Starting point is 00:51:19 Yeah, walking around. Did you I don't did you make your way over to check out a couple of the other. We went to New York, New York. We went to the actual little New York village that was made inside. So you're walking around like and you hear like sound effects of people arguing because they put them in the fake buildings. Yeah, OK. That's the fucking best.
Starting point is 00:51:40 And every place is like Sorento's pizza parlor, like whatever, whatever. Went to New York. We went into the Cosmopolitan, OK, which is the the fancy really like there was just a giant chandelier that continued three four. Yeah. So do you stuck to that side of the strip, then? We also, yeah, we didn't go too far, like Mandalay Bay and other places. MGM, Grand are over there. Yes. We kind of stuck around there.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Where did you go to? Well, I did I did top to bottom. OK. And you go to Excalibur. I went through pretty much most of the Excalibur. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And and you like Bellagio, Caesar's Palace and on Corwin. Caesar's Parking Lot are the three that you got to do slash for Cosmopolitan. We went to we went to a club.
Starting point is 00:52:31 If you saw one of my tweets, the red thing from Silent Hill Homecoming was there. Silent Hill Downpour, rather. The red thing that chases you. Oh, that was in the center of the club. I completely forget what you're red haze. The red haze that chases you in Silent Hill Downcoming or Homepour. There is a red thing that you fuck it. Anyway, it's gone. OK, sure. Also, you keep combining both words.
Starting point is 00:53:01 I sure am. I don't know which game you're talking about. The red thing that chases you if it touches you, you die. There that it's and it was in Silent Hill Three as well. I was like, is this and is that in Downpour? So we were in that club for a bit and like the drinks are really expensive and a little bit after like, I don't know, maybe 30 minutes or like, let's leave. We leave. And then I see a tweet saying Sasha Banks is like,
Starting point is 00:53:26 yo, I'm hanging out in this club, the exact same club we just left. And I was just like, OK, well, that's good. Suicide in my own room. Yeah, just do it. We're in Vegas. Yeah, it's a it's it's appropriate. It's appropriate. That's correct. And finally, we saw Cirque du Soleil is humanity. Yeah, you best live show I've ever seen of anything. Just that's that's the sexy one.
Starting point is 00:53:43 That's the sexy one with the titties out. And then we were while we're there, we're like, let's go see have Las Vegas strip club be fun. And we're like, yeah, we see this show. I'm like, why would I ever go to a strip club ever again? Well, it could never come back. Vegas ones are the ones where they kidnap you. When you go to a strip club and I'm sorry, what?
Starting point is 00:54:00 Sorry. OK. When you go to a strip club in Vegas, the method is generally they go like, yeah, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come. Oh, they have like a girl or a guy on the street advertising to get you. Oh, yeah, yeah. And then when you go like, yeah, sure, why not? They go, great, stay right here. And then they call the van over and the van drives up and you get into it
Starting point is 00:54:19 with everyone else that they that they suckered in because and that drives you to the strip club wherever the fuck we've been to New York. It's a whole thing. We've been in New York. We've been to Venice Beach, but no city is more of a hustle getting your face city than Las Vegas. This doesn't compare where I'm in my hotel and guys are coming up to me, going, hey, where you going?
Starting point is 00:54:39 Valetized it, which guy? Which guy? You guys just come over here and I'm like, no, please. Did you get the card tappers? Yeah, yeah, like it was it was really it was it was strong in the city where every single street was just yo, yo, yo, I'm like, I know. I don't know the big girls to your door, but they cleaned it up. It was used to be worse.
Starting point is 00:54:57 I don't know how anyone can like it was like pre and post. Giuliani, New York, how how long does it take for your soul to become ignored to that kind of constant thrush, three Evo's, three Evo's. Three Evo's. Yeah. So one time we're walking down the street and then some kid goes, hey, sir, do you want to? And I'm like, no, no, thanks.
Starting point is 00:55:18 And he goes, OK, Matt, I'm like, and it was like this kid. It was like this like 17 year old kid and he's just like, holy shit. And I was like, oh, hi. You're like, oh, and I'm like, sorry, I don't want to go on your thing. He goes, nah, it's terrible. Don't worry about it. And he goes, I want to picture whatever. I was like, OK, cool.
Starting point is 00:55:37 So that was a fun moment that like Cirque du Soleil was just amazing. There's every always I love how every hotel has their exclusive show. Yeah, whether it's if you want to go see the show, you got to go to New York, New York. Yeah, your show. We had Donnie and Marie at our show. You went to that. Yeah, no, we did not go to that. I was going to say, because there's that and then like, you know, or like a planet,
Starting point is 00:56:00 Hollywood had whatever her name was. We were so mad, we couldn't go see Britney Spears or Jennifer Lopez, because they're like the most advertised shows there. And it's just like the greatest thing you've ever seen that will give birth on stage. Every side is basically like that. It's it's it's ridiculous. Yeah, the last thing on the Cirque du Soleil thing is that it was I've never been so thankful to not have to be in part of the audience participation ever.
Starting point is 00:56:28 In the Titty show for Cirque du Soleil, it was like every the titties, though, every 10 minutes. But sometimes you don't get titties. Sometimes they just had you up there doing other stuff. And the greatest moment is where the finale of the show is just not the finale, but kind of the winding down like not the last act per se. But there's a gigantic rotating disc on the center of the stage. And all their performers are there mimicking sex.
Starting point is 00:56:52 Yep. No one's that no one's getting in there. No, but there's booties slapping. There's all this stuff. And they invite like a 50 year old mom up on stage. He's like, oh, hi, she's on the stage. And then they just had this this funny guy just kind of like hugging her, just doing it ever. But she's she's got to be in the pit.
Starting point is 00:57:13 Yeah, she's got to stay in the pit or just like there. She's like, oh, this is so fun. Everybody leaves. Find her tomorrow morning. But like every three seconds, there is someone like being called up to the thing and I'm like, please, I never want to be in an audience participation thing on on a stage like that. There's not that stage.
Starting point is 00:57:34 But yes, it was just a real go with the friends that are going to point you out and like make you go with these types of friends. But you had a real blast overall and definitely want to go back. Maybe in July, I don't know, we'll say. Well, it's a good calm time. Nothing's happening around the other thing people are telling me is like, it was 20 degrees there constantly while we're there. And they're like, yeah, it's really great now.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Don't come in the summer. I'm like, why? And they're like to the desert. They're like, because I live here. Don't come. Oh, yeah, you take damage. You take damage. But it's a dry.
Starting point is 00:58:09 It's actually incredibly dry. It's very dry. Anyway, yes, get out of here, Hudson. Well, so I guess I mean, yeah, obviously for honor. Obviously, that was a thing that we talked about. I will say that with Neil, I played a bit more of that. And you do want to get your if I can suggest you get your neotime in now because you don't want to wait until you're juggling for honor,
Starting point is 00:58:33 Neil and Breath of the Wild. Dude, I'm going to be juggling for honor, Neil, Breath of the Wild, Horizon and near. Yeah. So it's about to get stupid. Let's let's it's about to get very stupid, right? It's about to get shifty. We you got to you got to cut down your options.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Take off your panties. Yeah, you know, shit on the floor. Do it. Do it. Do it for your set your own sake is at least that's what I'm doing. I have Neil, but I haven't even played it for myself because like I can't juggle something like Matt, Matt, I'll be real. If if the Souls series was like too difficult for you to get that much into like this thing will fuck you up.
Starting point is 00:59:12 I know that I know that it's really fucking I wanted to get just because I was like, yeah, there's a big old wall. That being said, Nio is also super long, like really crazy huge. It's your feeling completionist, I feel. Right. If you're not going back and doing all your extras and your Twilight missions and your submissions and stuff, you shave some time. OK. Yeah. So I guess like, you know, between those two things,
Starting point is 00:59:37 the only other thing I really did was I played a bit more overwatch and I did some acts throwing. And yeah, that guy got that go. It would be why did you go up? Because, yeah, this is crazy. He wants to steal Matt's gimmick. Yeah, because, yeah, thank you. Because there's crazy construction going on around us.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Let's just ignore that fair. That's not the craziest construction. No, that's mild. That's very mild. Mild construction. What what happened was, you know, I've been going to all those escape games. Yes, you just like I've done them all now. So the escape room games that I've been going to,
Starting point is 01:00:17 they have a cool thing where one of the side objectives of each room you go into is collecting pieces of this like medallion. So even if you're able to defeat the escape game, you may not get the bonus that will help you unlock the DLC. Exactly. You can totally miss it. Fucking awesome. Because the main thing in the room is you have to get out of it. But if you get out of it and you found the artifact, then cool thumbs up for you.
Starting point is 01:00:43 Yeah. And so when you find them all and you piece them together, you get a free, yes, you get a free Dickbutt, which is cashed in for a trip to axe throwing. So this was, yeah. Well, if that's the case, then you must have demolished a bunch of these. I told you, I told you, like I've been on a roll with them. I've done a lot of the Montreal games. Well, honestly, then if you're doing that, then like you must be getting
Starting point is 01:01:08 stronger over time because you're more like you're getting used to the kind of weird logic. Yeah. Every every spot has a different like, like it's a different game designs, right? Like different puzzles are created. There's a new meta at every location. But but there's always like, but at the same time, while you experience a lots of new game designs because of different people, you see familiar things and so you approach it in the same way you approach
Starting point is 01:01:34 a genre you're used to and you go like, oh, yeah, you're doing one of these types of puzzles. Got it. OK. And so, yeah, the reward was you got an axe throwing knight out. And so we just, yeah, we did that. And it's fun. It is. I was originally kind of bummed out because I was like, oh, man, like I feel like I wish they had like throwing knives or like you fucking just other things to like throw, you know, I wish it was just like a variety of
Starting point is 01:01:56 activities, axes actually are just easy because of their weight and like knives could be probably there. There's a lot of risk, obviously. You have to waiver sign your life. Oh, oh, yeah. And the main thing with it is that you walk in there and you're like, oh, I get it now. This is the most profitable, unbelievable, cheap to set up business ever, where it's a fucking giant room with plywood walls with paint markers on them
Starting point is 01:02:24 for bullet bullseyes and then just a bunch of fucking axes, fences to separate them and music playing. And that's it. A trip to Renault Depot or Home Depot with maybe four or five hundred bucks. You got your business. You've got your business set up like all they're really paying for is the the rental on the space and the insurance for running such a crazy dangerous business. I bet the insurance is significant. Unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Um, their their only risk is a non risk in that there's I bet there's stupid assholes that want to throw axes. Yeah, that's their only and the vibe when you walk in is they're playing like a roller rink music. So you're kind of like, OK, they're setting this up to be something where you come here after work with people, but there's no drinks. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. Obviously, oh, there's drinks, but it's like it's like water and we can.
Starting point is 01:03:21 Yeah, and then we'll kick you out if you know what you know what the trick is, right? You have a bar right next door. There you go. Right next door. Oh, yeah, they own it. So you sober? Yeah, good enough for me. And obviously, the main thing with the people working there is just like eyes on everybody. If someone breaks a rule once, you're done. There's no, you know, like there's barely a warning. It's really like, no, that's a risk.
Starting point is 01:03:45 That's a fucking like because you know what there needs to be? There needs to be a vocal alarm set to go off whenever the whenever the system detects the phrase, hey, check this out. Because like even holding the axe wrong and throwing it wrong, you can cut yourself on the throat. Everything is an almost death. Everything's a lot. And like when you're getting so, but they what they do is they have it set up like a bowling alley where
Starting point is 01:04:10 you you you have a score sheet and you make it through, I think, 11 rounds. And when you get to the halfway point, they bring out the bigger axes. So you start out with these little tomahawks. Yeah. And then eventually you upgrade to like like double sided and then huge like wood chopping axes, basically. And yeah, like there's absolutely a fun. There's enough fun going on and enough like skill that you're trying to improve with each. Were you were you?
Starting point is 01:04:38 But I'm glad that we were a group of five. So was it like a competition against each other? Yes. OK, yeah. Because that was only one of the bachelor party for David. There was like eight of us. And they were like, yeah, like para off and whoever, you know, like. So it was like a competition, like, you know, a lot of like. Rararara. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Sounds like you would enjoy one of them shooting ranges where you get to blow up cars. I mean, look, I'll try anything once. But like they and the next to us, they had like a super young kid. Couldn't have been more than 11 or 12. That's not safe. And I was just like, really? And it's like, I guess if parents parents sign your life away than in parental guidance is there, then yeah, you can get a kid throwing shit.
Starting point is 01:05:18 I bet those parents are just like, hey, Billy, you want to take a rock climbing and axe throwing and all these should have worn a rubber. You know, I'm like, you got to watch those fucking. Like what would you have to watch more than a kid in a room full of action? I'll tell you, I'll tell you an old person. Maybe, maybe, maybe. But yeah, they can't kick you out if you die first. Hey, grandpa, we're taking you to the axe throwing store.
Starting point is 01:05:47 The the no, but the honestly, it was it was a way funner time than I thought. Yeah, I thought I'd get bored of the single activity. But it's hard. And they're we paid. We had not paid. We got an hour. OK, an hour seems perfect. We were there for an hour. Was enough to get through pretty much almost two games.
Starting point is 01:06:07 Like one and one 80 percent. You ever think of going down on one of those like rage rooms? Well, this the place was called rage. OK, but I'm talking about the the other type of this. Where you just smash things where it's like, here's a crowbar and here's a room full of bullshit. No, because like if it was just throwing at the targets with no competitive aspect, it would have gotten boring a lot faster.
Starting point is 01:06:29 But that made it fun because I really want to put like a crowbar through a television. Yeah, like that would make me feel really good. But you don't need an hour for that. No. So, but yeah, I feel like you're right. I feel like this is the next step in like, OK, escape rooms, pretty damn cheap business to run because, again, you set it up once, you have all the tech and then you're done. And then you fill an apartment with just shit.
Starting point is 01:06:53 It's crap, you know. And then this is the even cheaper level. So whatever new place next to like classes are. No, no, no, this one is near Bodry. OK. So, yeah, it was pretty fun, though. I think anyone that hasn't tried it, it would have fun. And you also get to understand because I don't know how, like, acts throwing as an actual combat activity was used.
Starting point is 01:07:20 But I feel like it must have been the absolute last resort. Well, because you lose your weapon. Exactly. Even if you have a couple on you, you lose it. And it doesn't go as acts as does it. And if you miss, then now they have your weapons like throwing your gun, man. Now they've got your power. So that's a dumb thing to do, unless you absolutely have to, I feel. So I don't know.
Starting point is 01:07:43 Like spear throwing is primarily against like animals, because the animal can't pick up your spear and use it against you. Well, the albino apes could. Yeah. Let me shoot him with that laser. Let me ask you a question. Boo. When you were leaving, did you have any inclination to buy an ax, even the small handheld ones?
Starting point is 01:08:02 Because I did. No, just a little. I just a little one. I was like, yeah, why not? I have to already. I posed for my poop up, people. Yes, that's why I walked up the law and that's all I really needed. Yeah, OK, I was I was satisfied after that. It was fine because the ax little ax was like 20 bucks.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Like, yeah, oh, yeah. What are you going to do in the city? Don't need more weapons. What are you going to use that for in the city? Defending against the Queen of England. There you go. Got it. And the fucking funniest thing, dude, the funniest thing was they had fliers in there for come in and learn
Starting point is 01:08:37 ax combat lessons and the picture is like learn to fight ax fighting hand to hand against someone else with an ax. So I'm like in the in the random incident where someone on the street pulls an ax on you and you've got your own, you're ready to roll. There'll be one moment in your life like where it will come in handy. You can pretend the zombie apocalypse is happening or whatever and go like, fine, I need to learn how to use an ax. But what scenario will have another ax user coming at you
Starting point is 01:09:07 where you're both dancing around each other, fucking, you know, one on one in it, like straight up for honor? Like that's insanity. But they teach those lessons and they weren't cheap. Anyway, listen, man, you don't know what's going to happen. I don't be prepared for all contingencies. I do. Let's get prepared for the contingency that is a sponsor.
Starting point is 01:09:30 Oh, the podcast before we get into the weeks. Axe throwers. No, actually, this week, the best friend cast is sponsored by ourselves. What? What? We've done this before. Oh, it's that survey time. Yeah, it's a survey. Yes. So basically, you know, the if you head on over to pod survey dot com slash super. Basically, you fill that out.
Starting point is 01:09:55 It helps us get the whatever demographic info and find out who you are and what what are you? What are you? Helps us target the better to suit you. Yeah, we can do targeted advertising. Yeah, for our brand share. Yeah. For real, though, there is a logistical thing to say about this. Every time we do the survey, the same thing happens.
Starting point is 01:10:17 You don't have to do it today, but you've got to do it tomorrow. No, but you'll check it out every couple of times throughout the week, because it's very likely that within one minute of us saying this, that we just killed the site and it crashed. Maybe, but I love funding out how many of our audiences just shit kids, you know, no, not as many as I thought. If you say, yeah, that's pod survey dot com slash super. And basically, oh, there and there is that thing where if you do it,
Starting point is 01:10:47 there is a chance that you'll get a hundred dollar Amazon gift card. Random random. OK, I'm going to just assume I am banned from winning that. Yes. All right. Do you listen to the the broadcast? Yes. No, you don't. I'm listening to it right now. You're not. You are.
Starting point is 01:11:03 You are actively not listening. You never like get the fuck out of here. You talk to me. You don't even listen to yourself when you talk. You are. Anyways, listen. Oh, this is built in shit right there. Again, but yeah, bubbling up from the surface on that one.
Starting point is 01:11:20 No, so if you head on over that, that'll be cool. That's pod survey dot com slash super. Check it out. It would be very appreciated. Oh, yeah. So let's check news, news, news. Oh, man, the energy level just fucking mean, will he spike rocketed off of our energy drinks? Just fucking left our bodies.
Starting point is 01:11:40 It's just you ghosted. I even slept last night. I don't have a good reason as people. Well, OK, I had to watch a bunch of I fucking shoulders all fucked up. You ever sleep just bad and you wake up and your shoulder sounds like somebody dicked it? Yeah. And there was some metaphor. There was an article.
Starting point is 01:12:01 It's a metaphor. There was an article about in upstate New York. Yeah, there was an article in Utica. Yeah, somebody's dick in my shoulder. Ah, Utica, you can sleep in all these different positions to like if you feel a certain type of pain lie down this way and it'll help fix that. Look that up. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:12:19 Because like maybe the way you're lying down. Oh, no, but you've got them. I got a mask, dude. There's only so many positions I can sleep in without dying. You are limited. This is true. I am limited in many ways. So I guess we can start off with the thing that I didn't really know about until like 10 seconds ago. Yeah, the full metal alchemist live action trailer.
Starting point is 01:12:42 Oh, yeah, I heard about it. Didn't we talk about it where it was like, we were like, oh, but, you know, who's he being played by? Is he playing by a Japanese guy even though he's the most German guy ever? The only thing I have to say about this movie and like the teaser that they've they've put out is fucking. It looks like exactly what I thought. But for I'm going to say, where are the white people?
Starting point is 01:13:08 Like it's it's it's it's super goofy. OK, full metal alchemist takes place in a fantasy version of Aryan Germany. There is no reason that this movie has Japanese people. It's a Japanese movie, but this should totally be filled with white people. There are not enough white people in this movie. There needs to be like two or three in the background. There's a character that's the furor for fuck's sake. And, you know, the teaser doesn't show off the guy's face too much.
Starting point is 01:13:33 Like they spent like they know now you've got a little side view, you know. But what what can we say? Can we just have them in whiteface? Is that is that acceptable to you? It's just here's what it is, man, for the same reasons that I want the major to be Japanese, I want Edward Elric to be white. It's very simple. And I find it really dumb that they like there's I can't think of any Japanese
Starting point is 01:13:59 movie that's based on a property and it has like the proper casting like it should. Just like Attack on Titan has the same problem. Yeah. And well, and they probably know Attack on Titan is worse because an attack on Titan, Mikasa is literally the last Japanese person that exists in the world and it's a plot point. Yo, and it's very much clear that like this is just exactly that Japan wouldn't know what to do as far as like cast a bunch of foreigners. What if these honkies out of my casting room and it doesn't it doesn't
Starting point is 01:14:32 it's not going to be really great because I was able to see Shin Godzilla again on the plane and I remember the one white people start showing up. And then they're like, can I act like this, whatever? And then the Japanese people are like, no, no, act like this. I mean, like really terribly and wooden. Yeah. Like they can't direct them. I mean, look, every once in a while, there's they'll have. Oh, hello, Edward.
Starting point is 01:14:57 They'll get. Yes. Yeah. They'll get what you call it. They'll get like half Japanese people to come in that can speak English. Well, and do lines like like like in Beck, they got this guy that looks mixed in that you can get people like that if you want, or you can get those. Yeah, those the guy that's just the jet teacher that walked on the set that day learn about Japan to play the president or to play whatever random bad guy, you know, or a weird foreigner in the Kamen Rider episode.
Starting point is 01:15:25 But it's just like, come on, you know, when the source material is so white, there's no reason to not have white people. Well, there's no white people in Japan. And I'm, yes, I am thoroughly enjoying this at demanding that we get more white people. All right. So that's that's the quote. That's the quote for Mully. I am loving it.
Starting point is 01:15:47 I demand more white people. Yes. All right. This is bullshit. All right. We need to do something about it. I'm glad you're finally taking an interest in our plight, sir. You know, good to have support for us. Someone's got a fight, man. I'm glad I have a solution to this.
Starting point is 01:16:06 Don't make bad Japanese live action movies of anime and manga properties. Maybe not. No matter how good Okuyasu looks in that picture. He's the Oh, actually, Nijimura looks fucking great, too. But it's probably still going to be. Do a Let's Watch with a Fist of the North Star. Yes. See, that's that's what Wally wanted. Yeah, it went.
Starting point is 01:16:29 No, Kenshiro is Japanese, though. Kenshiro is, but everybody. Well, where the fuck does this North Star take place? It doesn't say. But it doesn't matter. The world is gone. Yeah, you're right. You're right. Shit.
Starting point is 01:16:40 So we all we all remember our fun segment. China doesn't give a fuck. Yes. Oh, yeah. I saw you talking about this. China continues to not give a fuck. And then China gives zero fucks. Now we proudly present. China gives less than zero fucks because of actively anti fucks because we're back at it again.
Starting point is 01:16:59 We're we've got another overwatch clone and we talking about and like unlike the last time where we've got we got the statement about no, we were just trying out to make sure that we could figure out how to and you're just kind of like this time the company's like, what? Yeah, we stole it. Fuck you or what? Like they're now there's just no pretending. Yeah, there's just no pretending.
Starting point is 01:17:23 And what I just don't understand is again, it's the effort levels. You know, so much effort. Like, why not make it a cool thing to do this? Because these are not like like, OK, some of those textures are probably stolen. But sure, these are what? But these but like they designed characters that are not the same as the as the clones, you know, and it's like if you're putting that much work in, make a why not just go the other way on it?
Starting point is 01:17:54 Like, I don't understand. I really don't get it. So I hope that this gets blasted. You know, it really bothers me about it. We're watching some footage and like on the top of the screen, they have the locked symbol for the next point you have to get. And the fact that the same lock symbol makes me even angrier. Why is that? I forgot.
Starting point is 01:18:15 I forgot that that's the bonus of this one, is it's not just overwatched that a bunch of characters are just. Oh, yeah, franchise. Genji Genji Sephiroth is one thing. But it gets better. Yeah, yeah, it gets better. Oh, who's that? Yeah, that's just. Joe Joe. Slash Roadhog just right around awesome.
Starting point is 01:18:34 If you think about it in your head with the same like voice clips, basically running around, hooking and the healing. And it's like, yeah, it's like it's not even different abilities. You know what I mean? It's the hook. It's the heal. It's the shotgun. It's the well, not shotgun, but whatever the whatever the shotgun thing. But he actually has a hook hand.
Starting point is 01:18:52 And it's just it's just so confusing. I don't I don't get it. I don't get it. Um, I get it. Good job. I also get it. Awesome. Yeah, you look good character. OK, so you get the big line up. So here's the problem when you pan all the way to the right.
Starting point is 01:19:09 The some of the designs at the end are legitimately fantastic. That's what I'm saying. And that's where my like, like, don't knock your can open. Let it let it let the video. No, no, no, no, there's a sexy girl. And that's I watch watching it all the way to the end is where my issue came about where I'm like, oh, my God, some of these are just ripoffs like junk rat and mercy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:32 But there's others where you're like, you designed a character there. Like you tried. You tried very hard. And it's like, what the fuck? I like that kid character. Even their Zenyatta clone is like, yeah, that's the diva clone. That's the that's the diva. Yeah, because he's you'd go into that mech. It's him called. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:46 So check out the link in the description. All my favorites are right at the end. The video is called China's back at it again. Overwatch clone trailer. And it's just it's baffling. It's baffling. Whoa, there are there. The work it took to look at that fucking gambler motherfucker.
Starting point is 01:20:02 He's awesome. The work it took to design these ripoffs is just not like you. You have the talent, but you didn't. You didn't. You didn't. Well, you can't stop China. That's the reason. Yeah, they're they're quite large. No, of course not. Very big.
Starting point is 01:20:21 It's a very big country. Yeah, with many people. You can't fight all of them. You can try. Well, now with that attitude, I mean, there's all got to start somewhere. I think we were allowed to talk about this again. Deep down. Oh, man. Are we?
Starting point is 01:20:41 I was at that sign about this race like three days ago. Did you remember that this even existed? Yeah. So the reason why it's back in the news. This is a long running thing that Liam and I would argue over. I'm like, he's like, no, it's coming out. I'm like, is it? Where is it then? And he would always find footage.
Starting point is 01:20:56 You'd always have footage at the ready. And he would always say, this footage came out last week. Like some obscure Japanese livestream that Capcom never announced. But now it's four years in and it's nowhere to be found. And so what we have in the news is that Capcom has just filed for another trademark. Yeah, but that's like Nintendo filing for the internal darkness trademark. Yeah, they just do it just because it's in their blood.
Starting point is 01:21:25 Yeah, it will. I guess. No, let's we re-up it, but we're not doing anything with it. Re-up it so no one steals. No one can take it. So no one can take it. And it's not the best name, honestly. I mean, it's always it. I always kind of took it as like a project name
Starting point is 01:21:39 that would be something else when it released. I always thought it was going to be something to do with Dragon's Dog. Well, yeah, I mean, too. Yeah, that's the end of the story. No, I mean, it's still got a really unique like spear system. But you told me that other games have done it since, right? Pat, what's that? You said other games have done have done the spear system that it had.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Spear system. Yeah, you know how you can aim very precisely with the spear as if it were a gun? I don't remember saying that. OK, in the footage where you see a guy with a shield and you see a guy, he's got a spear and the spear has a crosshair and you aim at parts of the enemy you're fighting. Well, that does sound like that does sound like a chivalry, but that's mass controlled.
Starting point is 01:22:18 OK, I don't like I can't even remember what this game looks like. Across here, across really good and fake. Yeah, fake. Yeah, that's the thing. Across here on your spear is like a level of accuracy that like most things don't stop it. So stabby stab stab. Yeah, it's weird. Anyway, that game will never come out. I don't think it will come out until it comes out.
Starting point is 01:22:37 It'll never come out. It's a good it's a good thing. And then when it comes out of the sea, I always told you it was going to come out. I think that's like it. Oh, whatever. Never mind. No one remembers this dumb commercial. Man, fucking fucking E.B. Games guy gave me a Wii U preorder for Zelda.
Starting point is 01:22:53 I was looking over my receipts like specify. Yeah, I did because I got to and once for the Wii U once for fucking switch and I'm like, why would I why I got to go down there after this and be like, why? And then give him a hundred dollars to get the switches. There you go. You see how the switches that got out were all fucking stolen? Yeah. And those people are going to get hard fucked. Yeah, actually.
Starting point is 01:23:16 Wolf fucking wolf. So let's talk about that then. Basically, because, you know, that was that was on the docket. I'm sorry. That's fine. I got excited. You got excited. And so today it's OK. Too excited, even. So, yeah, what happened was we saw two weeks early.
Starting point is 01:23:35 There was some switch footage that I like how it's Officer Jenny. And I am in the article that we're looking at. Yeah. So what was crazy of that to me about that is it was like the hey, some fucking guy has one. And that was like two days before a press outlet said that we had them. And you saw and you saw like the actual installation and like the setup screen and all that stuff, like you're seeing a bunch of like OS level stuff. And some important information came out of that.
Starting point is 01:24:02 One of the biggest ones account. The system is real. It's real. You don't want now you can replace your switch and your purchases will carry over. Thank God, man. Seriously. So especially since this is going to be portable, a lot of people are going to lose them eventually and instead of having to go through like calling Nintendo and doing all that, you can just get a new one, like a normal person.
Starting point is 01:24:22 So what happened was, yeah, a gaff user hip hop, the robot had an early switch and showing stuff off. And then what happened? Like it just seems like after going through a bunch of footage and whatnot, and then he tried to sell it and it got weird and they traced it all back and found out that like he got it from someone who got it from someone that stole it from an AB and stole it from my uncle. Listen, it was one of those like off the back of the van, except like this.
Starting point is 01:24:52 This was always going to be the explanation from the from outside the store kind of situation, right? This is always going to be the explanation of a guy works at a retail outlet and goes, we have these. I could. These aren't available, period. I could flip this right now, take it home myself, whatever. Yeah, and I would be super big and rich. And so what ended up happening was the after finding out about that
Starting point is 01:25:17 and Nintendo released a statement going, yeah, those were stolen, actually. That's not like, ah, I got out of the wild. Like you stole it. That's yeah, that's that, you know, and then he was like, oh, and he got really uncomfortable and he sent it back. Good for him. And then Nintendo is like, OK, you're cool. But those guys aren't cool.
Starting point is 01:25:35 Yeah, well, obviously the people who stole it are not stealers. But yeah. It was a weird situation. But at the same time, it's nice to know that like things like the account system and whatnot are out there. It's stupid that we don't know that because Nintendo didn't tell us. It is. So I was talking to Bunny about this. I was talking to Bunny about this.
Starting point is 01:25:57 Stop it, guys. We were like, it's coming out so fast, right? And we talked about it on podcast last week as well. It's coming out so fast. But like, why is there still stuff that we don't know? Don't why I don't know. There's some event that they're still planning. There has to be a Nintendo Direct for like March 2nd, right?
Starting point is 01:26:13 But the event, we should know when that will be. He's right. You know, it's not even because it's not even like bad things. You're hiding. It's good things we want to know. No, they haven't told us. They said like near the event that they had with everything was revealing. Shit, they said, oh, we're going to have another event or like a direct like February 20 hammer out the details, February 25th. And if you didn't know anything leading up to that, that's no one's fault,
Starting point is 01:26:39 but your own because they said they're going to tell you. But because you don't have an event that exists that we far as we know, then yeah, we should be coming out in less than two weeks. They're like, what if they may learn it? I was like, oh, we can't let anyone know everything because they'll find out about the thing we put in there. What thing? Yeah, we can't talk about that. The bad thing they'll hate.
Starting point is 01:26:57 So let's not talk about anything. Still don't know how the fucking chat thing with the phone works. And we know still don't know. We know so much about the parental control app. We know everything about that part. And that may mean so. That's important. It's so detailed in how much you can control your kid's ability to play.
Starting point is 01:27:16 And we know all of it and we don't know anything else. The ability to like open up your phone, see the Jimmy's playing Ari seven. Who am I kidding? Ari seven is not going to come in the switch. Jimmy's playing Skyrim remastered and then you go, fuck you, Jimmy. No more game for you with a click of the button. That's awesome. Good old fashioned, horrible image, horrible image followed by
Starting point is 01:27:39 Bowser putting covering, parental technology. I love it. How do you guys feel about silhouettes? Silhouettes. I hate them. Terrible. I hate them. OK. No point. I saw Max hates them, too. Max does hate them, too.
Starting point is 01:27:53 His fucking reaction pretty much mirrors my own. Oh, what are we talking about? We're talking about SNK. Teases new characters for King of Fighters 14 via silhouette. So there's new costumes coming. There's new stages coming. All of those costumes are like, oh, thanks. Well, the classics are fine.
Starting point is 01:28:09 But all those other bullshit things like Devil and Red Riding Hood. It's like, OK. Well, they're new characters, so there's no classics to really. No, no, I know. But like they're all fantasy based and I'm like, why? It's just odd and it's only for girls. No, no, no, no, like the new, the new, the new costume classic Yuri and no, the what?
Starting point is 01:28:33 I mean, like the new costumes for new characters. They're like only girl. The sleepy sleepy kid. Oh, it's true. I'm sorry. You're right. It's just not like for if you've seen like most of the themes on the PS4 store, all the girls, like they're just pushing the waifu angle a little hard. I find you have to push the waifus King of Fighters. You really don't need to.
Starting point is 01:28:53 You have a diverse cast. Push Geese is the best way as the best. OK, I'm back on board. Yeah, Nightmare Geese and all that. No, so, yeah, February 23rd, they're going to release this pack. And then they also in this teaser showed off that there's going to be some more characters coming. A whole new team is still. That's what I said.
Starting point is 01:29:11 And new characters stages before that. I'm sorry. Time to fight. And I guess, yeah, they're doing the same thing that Capcom's doing with the silhouette tease. And I mean, it's weird because it's better than like nothing. But it's made. It's basically that speculation game, right? Where you start playing the like, what shape is this?
Starting point is 01:29:34 Does this look like anyone we already know or anyone from the past or anyone from the storyline? I agree with Matt. These costumes are terrible. Yeah. Yeah, you know, I think the main. I think the meat of this announcement is this new Terry Bogard stage. That's the meat of the announcement for me. It is just fucking Terry Bogard's fail.
Starting point is 01:29:57 Yeah, absolutely. No, we need the train. The running wild fucking train is always awesome. I'm glad that that's going to be there. I like this racetrack one, too. But when I look at this silhouette, I'm like, OK, do any of you have dreds? No, no, Rick Stroud. OK, OK. Do any of you have a long coat that looks kind of like it could be a rock
Starting point is 01:30:15 Howard coat? Maybe that guy. Yeah, but his silhouette is being mashed together with so it's hard to tell. But that could be a rock Howard guy. People are like, that could be Amazaki. Big. Yeah. Oh, that could be Amazaki. Doing his because. Yeah, it could be. And I think someone said the person, the girl ish silhouette that's kneeling like could be Blue Mary, Hwajai.
Starting point is 01:30:38 That could be like a different fatal fury team. See how dumb this is that we're doing this. Yeah, I don't like it. OK, I don't like it. Why can't they just also those are bad silhouettes? Like, at least SF5 has the silhouettes separated. These are mashed together in such a way that you can't tell even when one character starts on other ends. Yeah, could be heavy deep. No, no, bigger than that.
Starting point is 01:31:05 He's too big. He's going to get his own event. Yeah. But I tell you what, though, or whip even. I'm glad that they're doing DLC characters for a long time. I thought they wouldn't like you have so many to begin with. Like you don't even need to. Well, what I was going to say is like as soon as this is not silhouettes and then the news drops and everyone's just like, oh, hey. And then like whatever, you know, so so like, what did this accomplish?
Starting point is 01:31:25 Well, they just told us they're working on new characters. No, what I mean is like, what is accomplished silhouetting them really like it doesn't you you you process of elimination. You know who it's not. Just tell me who it is right now. Oh, it's a marketing thing because it's like people talk. No, you have big discussions. Yeah, people talk about how much they don't like this.
Starting point is 01:31:43 It's three new clones of Ash Crimson, who is weirdly still erased from Canon. You love it. I love that he's gone. I can't stay. What do you want? Three, three ashes. Anyway, thrash thrashes.
Starting point is 01:31:59 They had kill like four times in a game. Why not? Oh, boy, that was bad. Really? Four? No, it was Kyo. It was K dash. It was and two kill clones. OK. No, no, no, no, no. Hold on a second.
Starting point is 01:32:12 Kyo, kill one, kill two and Kusanagi. Yes. Oh, OK. And and K dash, who is technically a clone. I don't count that. That's his own character. He's gameplay. Yeah, I mean, I mean, literally, literally Kyo Kusanagi. Yeah, there was literally four Kyo Kusanagi.
Starting point is 01:32:26 I can't believe they were called Kyo one and two. That's so fucking stupid. I don't know. He had the they kind of they all had different moves and people where people are faithful to those movesets. Right. So yeah, what can I say? There there is this. So there's a we talked about the Apocalypse now kick starter.
Starting point is 01:32:46 That's what we did ago. And I guess it was just an update about it. There is an update about it. It's so bringing Marlon Brando's skeleton back to play a role way more bizarre. The Kickstarter has been canceled to start its own crowd fund of its own. This feels like a fucking scam. Not using like Indiegogo or Kickstarter. It's just going to be even big.
Starting point is 01:33:08 So basically what happened was this feels like a fucking scam. They got they got nowhere or not nowhere, but they got very, very far from their goal. Really, I think they were around 160 something because now's now's the time to strike while the iron's hot on the Apocalypse. Now franchise, I find. I mean, look, Francis for Capola had a whole thing explaining why. And I I I'm sure it's still does it sounds like no,
Starting point is 01:33:36 it sounds like like a couple of people in the air were like, hey, say this, you know. But anyway, it's still weird. I think that they yeah, their explanation for why they're canceling it was basically they Kickstarter people are skeptic and don't trust these types of things. OK, because of obviously lots of failures and whatnot. So they're like, yeah, so we're moving this off of Kickstarter onto our website where there is no time limit.
Starting point is 01:34:01 You know, you're right. That'll make people really trust it. You know, the last the last thing last big project I remember doing this was a little game called Shadow of the Eternals by Silicon Knights, where they're like, shit, we're not going to make this on this platform. Let's make our own. Here's an important detail about Kickstarter. After all the high profile games, like I remember there was the Yogscast
Starting point is 01:34:26 one that went to shit, right? Kickstarter put out its statement and it's like, you need to show something. There needs to be a version of it that currently exists, some footage, some art, whatever, right? Yeah. But also Kickstarter very explicitly throws you right under the bus if you fail to deliver your your your goods, right? It's very explicit. The Kickstarter says if they have to deliver on the Kickstarter,
Starting point is 01:34:53 if they don't Kickstarter throws its hands up and says, get fucked, get sued, all you want, we're not going to. It's you you you agree to that, right? Enough failures have happened that they've refined their policy over time. So is that going to happen in most cases? No, but your own website doesn't have that. Yeah, you can do whatever you want. You just like, no, we don't have to fuck you.
Starting point is 01:35:16 I mean, yeah. This screams scam, that's so bad. Of course, like we didn't. I didn't go to the website, so I'm not sure if it has the same basic idea where once they hit a threshold, the money's deducted. And if they don't hit the threshold, they don't deduct it. I bet it's like it's just give us some money. We'll get the money.
Starting point is 01:35:34 It could just be a PayPal link. I don't know. But what they do have to say officially is when we launched the campaign, we made a mistake. We forgot that many of you have been disappointed by overreaching games and overreaching promises. We stopped paying attention to the Kickstarter world. And when we put our heads down and went to work on this full steam
Starting point is 01:35:49 about 18 months ago with documents and prototypes, first with documents and then prototypes, because we went upriver, we did not remember that those of you who love games and those of you who love apocalypse now would be immediately would immediately treat the announcement, not with excitement, but with concern. So yeah, it was one of those. We see this not picking up steam. And of course, you know, the like there's a very predictable law
Starting point is 01:36:11 when it comes to kick starters. And it's like save for a like major, you know, channel of publication, bringing attention to it at the last minute. You can follow your first days, your most popular day, and the kick track just goes way down after that. Yeah, with a few with a few rare exceptions, like some of those big RPGs got huge pushes at the end as people upgraded their pledges.
Starting point is 01:36:34 Also, let's go to Nello and stuff like that, you know. But yeah, you're right. My my my belief that this may be a scam has definitely been improved by you taking all controls off of it and moving it to a place in which you have no timeline and no guarantee. I definitely don't think it's a scam now. One thing that's clear is that we, you know, kickstarter as a whole needs like like bloodstained is about to drop.
Starting point is 01:36:58 And we need games like Sheldonite and bloodstained to really like we bloodstained is good. Yeah, to come out and be like, here's another solid ass project. I feel I feel like enough kickstarter games have come out from notable and like proper developers that its legitimacy has been assured. Sorry, what? OK, so it looks like no, no, no, no, no. OK, no. OK, so here's what happened. Wait, I'm exploring the website to find out what's different.
Starting point is 01:37:26 Sure are. What is the fuck is this? OK, so looking at the apocalypse now website, we see that there is now I need to do some math. A higher pledge than there was when they closed it. They're now at two hundred and forty seven K. But the the goal has shot upwards a little bit from nine hundred. On Kickstarter to five million nine hundred K. I would also like to I would also like to point out
Starting point is 01:37:52 that is an average pledge of nearly four hundred dollars. So based on six hundred and fifty nine people pledging. Yes, two hundred and fifty five. This is an average pledge of three hundred and seventy four dollars. That seems unusually. So they added five million dollars to the goal. And now there are four hundred and fifty three days remaining. That's more than a full year.
Starting point is 01:38:17 Yeah, OK. Can I reiterate that I think this looks like a fucking scam? We don't know. We don't know. I guess what I'm trying to find out is if you work on this and I am completely talking out of my ass, I apologize. I'm very sorry. Hey, man, that looks sketchy as shit.
Starting point is 01:38:37 It would be great to be corrected. It would be absolutely correct and, you know, to know that that I think that the pledge to amount is actually way sketchier than the added money in time. That's ridiculous. That doesn't happen. Do you think that that number could be reflective of like the investors that existed outside of Kickstarter already? Possibly.
Starting point is 01:38:57 But I don't know. I would love to see the breakdown and see that maybe I would love to see that two of those are one hundred thousand dollar pledges from the developers. Maybe maybe like maybe the nine hundred K number was not a true number. It was the hidden number. And that was associated with five hundred five million dollars. Where did that five million leave? Did it go where to go?
Starting point is 01:39:19 Could you have five million in funding? What do you need the nine hundred thousand dollars? I don't want to sit here and play speculation. I sure don't. But but that's especially I don't care about. Hey, folks, feel free to play speculation at home with the information that you have provided for you off of this website. That's all weird.
Starting point is 01:39:34 It's also really weird when it's like a movie based thing that actually has the director on it. It's like Francis Ford, Copa, do you not know anyone in Hollywood that can give you like ten thousand dollars here? And also if every single connection you pull in will not give you the money, maybe that says something about the project. Like it just it makes it even seem even sketchier. Also, for fuck's sake,
Starting point is 01:40:01 like pillars and torment and all these other big Kickstarter games, they didn't even even after blowing themselves out. Like they never came anywhere near five point nine million. Yeah, that's ambitious. Isn't it? It really is. Yeah, I don't think I'm going to find what I'm looking for here. That would put it like number two under Star Citizen, maybe number three. At the end of, you know, four hundred and fifty three days,
Starting point is 01:40:28 does that money return, I guess is the main thing I want to know. All right, well, sure, that's fun. All right. I'm sure someone's having fun with that. Well, anyway, so I don't like this one. There's a really like bum new story that's been getting slow. Fantastic. I'm sure you guys must have heard about it. But sure, there's been a SNES archiving project going on. And this guy named you has borrowed.
Starting point is 01:41:02 He borrowed, or rather, he was supposed to borrow ten thousand dollars worth of SNES game cartridges for the purposes of archiving them. And that's pretty much ripping, dumping and then returning them to the you want something like a pure archive. Well, I guess with like it's it's it's stability. Like you don't know what people did to ROMs. You don't know if they thank you.
Starting point is 01:41:25 This is the clarification I'm looking for, where it's like we do actually have this already, but I guess the purpose is that he wants like one that has wants to make sure that it's legit by his own hand that they're ROM dumped correctly, I guess, because otherwise it's like we, you know, the full list is out there. But anyway, so he was doing this by hand himself. Yes. And the parcel was supposed to be sent to him in Germany to Germany by USPS. And that's where you fucked up. Yeah. Well, you know, it got lost.
Starting point is 01:42:00 I bet it does. It got lost, huh? And they couldn't find much about it. He opened up a it was insured, of course. It was tracked. It had all the details on our men. And, you know, they were trying to figure out what happened because it never showed up.
Starting point is 01:42:15 Where were my games damaged by normal video games? What a video game. What a video game. Here's the quote. It says damaged by normal machine processing at our facility, which makes it normal, which makes it sound like it. Hold on, Pat, because that's the update. Oh, that's because originally there was like, let's open up a ticket and
Starting point is 01:42:33 investigate this missing giant parcel. And it took a while. But eventually they're like, OK, we went through our factory. We went through the location that it said it was going to be sitting in. Where it didn't it was like for a while, just like it's sitting in the factory not moving. And yeah, they eventually reported that there was damage by a normal machine processing at our facility, which is code word for it fell off the conveyor
Starting point is 01:42:58 belt and it fell into the sorter and the sorter just demolished. However, what they sent him was just the top ripped off of the packaging and the bottom of the packaging, but no actual box. Huh, that's weird. So all signs point to the fact that someone that works at USPS fucking stole it. So, hey, this is insured for a bunch. I bet it's worth something. Yoy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:21 So what? So the thing is that like the the insurance, though, please read me that quote from from view that the. Oh, it's a good quote. Well, because because I want to clarify that the insurance is not actually it's like it's like you're tracking, but it's not a full like we're going to replace whatever the value is damaged clear because he's kind of fucked now is the bottom line of the story.
Starting point is 01:43:44 It's not that it's insured and like, hey, we got the money. No problem. Yeah, they ship me the motherfucking box label and nothing else claiming that the machine aided bullshit. If the label comes off, it'd be it'd be next to a box right. There'd be a box right next to it without a label. Yeah, so I read in the style go slash aliens. Yeah, I guess that's bullshit.
Starting point is 01:44:05 No, it was really dumb. And, you know, now he basically is trying to raise money for the $10,000 missing. This sucks. He says, I'm looking for a good lawyer, you know, if anyone's able to help him replace with donor games, they'd be grateful. But yeah, it sucks. It really sucks for the collector who, you know, like took a risk, took a risk
Starting point is 01:44:25 doing this and donated it. But it's like basically because it's over $10,000 in games and a package, it becomes a felony. Right. Yep. So yeah, this is a really dumb shitty story. Was that Larsonie, petty burglary? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:44:38 And it's it's a felony. It's not grand Larsonie. It's like it's like middle Larsonie and all I can say. You're in the middle list. All right. So if you know somebody who just suddenly, suddenly, where is this? Germany? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:50 Yeah. Okay. You're in Germany and you know somebody who just suddenly got 10 grand worth of Nintendo games and is trying to fence them. Snitch. You should probably snitch big time. Yep. It's been a long time since the mail bag, but I will always gladly take
Starting point is 01:45:07 the opportunity to say, fuck you, SPS. Don't do it. Straight up lost shit all time. Of course, at the end of the day, it does need to be said again. We do have every SNES game already online archived. I guess some of them might not be perfect. Some of them might have layering issues or were dumped. Not super great.
Starting point is 01:45:31 But for the most part, they are there. This was, I guess, more for like an integrity. Well, there's something to be said about, like, you know, when the apocalypse and like Skynet, like that's. Yeah. Well, it's more like to keep the physical cartridges as a backup. Yeah, I guess. No, it's more kind of like if some if certain movies like made it to DVD,
Starting point is 01:45:52 but like the encoding was shit, you know, or it was a really bad transfer, then they they go back to the Blu-rays and they go like, all right, fuck that original encode. We're going to go to the real and we're going to do this from scratch to get them on the Blu-rays again. It happens from time to time. I was going through this, but like, you know, a digital lonely game is like very sort of kind of tenuous where like, oh, man, I sure want to play
Starting point is 01:46:15 this awesome version of Double Dragon. Oh, is it online only? Oh, it's gone forever. Shit. Well, I guess I'll never play this in my life. And that thing has not been emulated because no one can get their hands on it. Broad the Brazilian system. No, no, the other one, the iPhone one. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:33 That's gone from time now. Well, hey, man, before crisis. Yeah. Right. That was the biggest one for a while. Yeah. We have the fact that that Street Fighter, Ultra Street Fighter II's first person little tease thing. We got some actual footage of it now.
Starting point is 01:46:50 It's a big dumb thing. It's terrible. Yeah, it's a dumbass minigame. It's really not. It's exactly as nothing as it looked. But, you know, you just put your hands up and you do gestures. Why is this footage in a three hour stream? Well, because that's where the footage was.
Starting point is 01:47:07 Because Capcom TV is where they go through a bunch of like Monster Hunter shit and they go through a bunch of all that's where all that fucking Monster Hunter games they do this every once in a while in Japan to announce their stuff. And there's a random pirate. And basically Japanese live streams are the worst when they do eventually get to the minigame at the end or rather the Ultra Street Fighter II footage. You see that you play as Ryu. You stick your hands way of the Hado to do it.
Starting point is 01:47:33 OK, it's so weird that it's like a big 3D mode and like that doesn't jive with the fucking rest of the game. I completely agree. It's so weird. It's using Street Fighter V assets. Yeah, but is Street Fighter V coming to the switch? Well, it can't, I had imagined. It's Street Fighter V soldiers and stages.
Starting point is 01:47:53 But the Ryu is from Street Fighter IV. What? Very confusing. Or it's actually, no, it's not. You know, it's a better. That looks terrible. That looks awful. But I don't think it's Ryu from five. That looks like crap.
Starting point is 01:48:08 I don't think so. So I'm being a negative Nancy. You. Yeah, I know. Right. I'm usually so upbeat and positive. So, yeah, that's what that was about. OK, that's a lie. I'm usually quite cynical. We talked about how the eShop downloads are now
Starting point is 01:48:29 not console a lot. Thanks, Christ. So I guess the last thing we'll get into is is really deep into it. Well, that live stream looked like shit. It's really straightforward. Yo, some blood, boy, blood, boy, blood, boy, some blood, boy, and statues are coming.
Starting point is 01:48:48 And the only one that matters. I love how it's Lady Maria. I love how it's impossible to tell how big that is. Now, they need to put something down. That's the thing that you got to put an apple. That looks life-sized. Yeah. Oh, man, it looks good. If it is life-sized, can we have that as a fourth member
Starting point is 01:49:06 on the podcast? Basically, because, like, let's like how I have my skeleton. Oh, I fuck straight. It is the only piece of blood, blood, blood, boy, and merch I want. Are you all right? What is in this? No, I was trying to do it wrong on purpose again.
Starting point is 01:49:20 No, no, that was real. OK, well, I'm sorry. Blood, boy, Maria. See, that was what that was allowed. I want it. And then they had some cool stuff where there's like another hunter. Oh, it is life-sized.
Starting point is 01:49:35 Right? Oh, we still don't wait. Yeah, it is. Prime Studios, you're fucking doing it. I just how can we get our hands on these? I will. I will. I will straight up say, yes, we can use company money for that. Matt, would you agree with that?
Starting point is 01:49:55 It depends on how much it is. It's like $50,000. Get the fuck out of here with that. And it's like, is that like two hundred bucks? No, it's got to be like, you know, I don't even know if these are for sale, for it's a display thing. We don't actually know. It looks for 40. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:50:11 40, 50 bucks. Yeah. Give or take. Twenty five, maybe a 20 and a pack of gum. Yeah, add a little bit extra for the paint job. Yeah, there are a lot of cool figures and statues and such on today because it was like during the week because it was Toy Fair in New York.
Starting point is 01:50:24 And then it was like Wonder Fest or Wonder Fair in in Japan or in Asia or something. Lots of bullshit came out. Yeah. So check it out. I tweeted it out and I'm going to put the link in the docket, of course, but it's just these beautiful Bloodborne statues. There's not much else to it. Fucking.
Starting point is 01:50:41 Tetsuya Nomura designed another DC superhero. Who is it this time? He made a joker and a Harley. And the Harley just looks like she's she's Iron Man. She's in a Harley armor and it's real bad. Great. And then the joker is strapped in a wheelchair, but he puts on different heads like Samus does in Miyamoto's
Starting point is 01:51:02 description of how the visors work, where she unscrews her own head and puts on a different head. It's real fucked up. I'm not sure how I feel about it. If you want to tell us how you feel about it, you can write in and send a letter to the super best friend cast. That takes some letters. That's super best friend cast at gmail.com.
Starting point is 01:51:22 What's that email again? That's super best friend cast at gmail.com. It's at Tetsuya Nomura at y.com at belts.co.jp. Come on. That thank you. Thank you for correcting me. All right. So we got one from Jacob and he says, hey, Super Zibatzi.
Starting point is 01:51:40 I'm a cop in a small town. Whoa. And I work a lot of graveyard shifts. Are you living with the plot of a raw deal? I don't know. A raw deal. Police quest. Good.
Starting point is 01:51:50 Now, I was good. That movie sucks. Now, Red Heat sucks. Now, Red Heat's great. Now, a raw deal's better. What's a good time wasting mobile game that isn't dumb as hell? Well, assuming you're not doing your job and. Go play Black Box.
Starting point is 01:52:06 That's good. I'm going to recommend Ridiculous Fishing. Pornography via the internet. Pornography. Right there. Xvideos.com. At the precinct. Right there.
Starting point is 01:52:21 Yeah. Do it. Go to that one website that'll get you in trouble. I don't know. Mario Run. I don't know. Black Box is good. Mario Run has a coming soon label on Android, which is really weird.
Starting point is 01:52:32 Coming soon. We got one coming in from Oliver. He says, dare super best friends. That's all right. You could learn. I can feel Willie soul leaving his body. Isn't it? Isn't it great?
Starting point is 01:52:47 You could learn any fictional martial arts like Guncadiz or the Ripple. What would it be? Ooh, the Ripple. Well, Hokuto Shinken. But the Ripple lets you live for like another hundred years. But Hokuto Shinken lets me blow your head off. Yeah, but I don't actually need violence. You just want to survive.
Starting point is 01:53:06 Yeah. No, I want you. The Ripple lets me like do all sorts of weird stuff. No, I want. You basically want the powers of a cockroach. I want the problem solver. Okay. Here's a problem solver.
Starting point is 01:53:17 Remember that? Remember when Zeppeli was going on the water looking like a badass? I want to do that. Yeah, but remember how Zeppeli got punked? Yeah. Yeah, guess what? If I touch you, you're done. You know, you won't die.
Starting point is 01:53:29 I'm not fighting death battles of my day to day. Willie can chase you. The other day I stepped on a puddle and my feet got wet and it sucked. If I had the Ripple, that wouldn't have happened. Yeah, but then you could also do stuff like Toki with Hokuto Shinken where you can like, you know, like healing. But that's not Hokuto Shinken, is it? Oh, it is kind of different disciplines.
Starting point is 01:53:50 Same style. I'm going with the Ripple man. Okay. Well, you know, breathing. Hey, I need to get good at breathing. Okay. Give me your best. No.
Starting point is 01:54:01 No, okay. I already know it'll be embarrassing. So I'm not going to do it. All right. Well, I'd like to spinning pile drive a guy. Oh, yeah. So you want to learn how to bear wrestle? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:54:11 I mean, but like, like jump as high as like a spinning pile driver would need to be. That's high. It's quite high. Very high. Well, seven feet in the air. That takes less so like fight training and more so what was it? Muscle spirit. Muscle spirit.
Starting point is 01:54:26 Muscle spirit is what you want. This is a martial art that will de facto make you fucking ripped. That or like I want the ability to force anybody to make to shout out Terry Bogard quotes. Well, I mean, that's mind control. That's not a martial arts. Sorry, I forgot. Existing martial arts styles or techniques. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:54:53 I got. Oh, I got a bonus one. Sure. It's the the tai chi that is presented in brutal pause of fury. A hot rod in which there is a tai chi move that is the equivalent of the brown note. Yeah. That happens to Andy Sandberg. No, he does it to his dad.
Starting point is 01:55:17 Nope. She does it to him. No, she does it to him and then he does it to his dad. Hot rod is awesome. It's so good. I fucking love that movie. It's better than there are other movies underrated. I need to save my dad so I can fight him.
Starting point is 01:55:31 I'll throw my my bonus one to Dawson style yoga. Oh, yeah. Stretching for lazy people and teleporting. Come on. Teleporting seems much more useful. I mean, think about it. You're right. You steal all the money.
Starting point is 01:55:47 Does this say a lot about me that the first use of my powers is always what if I could rob a bank? No, you're just doing what they don't want to do. You're cutting straight to the end. I'm just saying what everybody's thinking. You're cutting straight to the end. Yeah. We got one coming in from Danica and... Yo, what's up?
Starting point is 01:56:07 What's up, Danica Patrick? How's the race car driving? Hey, so they're super... That joke is terrible. We should feel bad. Greetings from America. I'm writing in today because I'd like to know and anything you watch, any form of media. The supporting cast member...
Starting point is 01:56:25 Okay, this is weirdly written. I'm sorry. There should be comments here, Danica. Yes, okay. In a game... Too many spin-outs. In a game, anime, or movie, or other form of media, you were supporting cast member that dies so the main character can be big strong and save the day.
Starting point is 01:56:43 How would you like to go out? Okay, they're trying to ask, like, would you be the guy that dies fighting lots of bad guys so that the main character could escape or get wrecked by the final boss to motivate the hero to win? I'm always a big fan of taking the hit. Taking the bullet. I personally like to be the love interest that the hero... The love interest of the hero who dies only to return as a villain in the sequel.
Starting point is 01:57:07 I want to be the guy who's not nearly... I'm, like, 80% of the main character's power, so I'm in there, but I'm clearly not the main character, right? And then the new big bad shows up, and I go, yo, I'm gonna fuck this guy up, and I get, like, vaporized. So it looks kind of like Joe when he tries to fight a little... Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat Armageddon, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:57:33 And the big bad just fucking punches my head off immediately, and then everybody's like, ooh, shit! So the demonstration of... The tone-setter. Power scale. Yeah, yeah. I want to take a power scale. That's fine.
Starting point is 01:57:47 I want to be Green Lantern in that one clip, or Darkseid just beats him up. Or Cyborg Frieza. Yeah. Shit like that. I want to tell someone to avenge me, and that powers them. Would you leave behind your last bubble? My last bubble? Yes.
Starting point is 01:58:03 Okay. And I would also reveal some damning information about myself right before I die. Right before you. Yeah. But I'll also then go, but please revenge me regardless. I stole batteries from Radio Shack all the time. I stole all your batteries that one time. I have a thing for girls with insect bites on them.
Starting point is 01:58:24 What the fuck is that? What do you think it is? I don't know. Guess. Just guess. You'll get it right. I don't know what's happening in the room. Come on, do you guess where that's from?
Starting point is 01:58:36 From Parasite Eves? No. Good, good. It's a stand. It's from... Why do I bother? It's not a stand. It's just a finish.
Starting point is 01:58:47 Yeah. Warning. Pat's about to lay down spoiler details for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7. Skip ahead by about one minute to the two hour mark if you don't want to be spoiled. There's a point where the character's just like, man, I fucking love... What's this person that people tweet at me that has an American flag imprinted in his back? That's the villain of Part 7. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:59:15 He's the president of the United States. And his villainous plan is to you... His villainous plan is to absorb all of the body parts of Jesus Christ in order to make the United States the greatest country in the world. Yes. You just asked, can I skip Part 7? No, can I skip 2 Part 7? Oh, okay. I'm like, I have a no that comes from the depths of my soul that I was about to use.
Starting point is 01:59:45 No, no, skip 2. You absolutely know, but still. Okay, so anyway... Yeah, no, that's a character for you, man. What year does Part 7 take place? 18. Enough details, dude. Enough details.
Starting point is 01:59:57 How can it take place in 18? Dude, stop, stop, stop, stop. It's legitimately fun when you get there. I don't want you to say more about it for anyone that hasn't gotten there. It's really fun. I assume few people have. And by fun, I mean, it's the best part. It doesn't seem like it at first, but then it becomes the best part.
Starting point is 02:00:15 So here's what's up. Yeah, I would say my favorite way to go out is skydiving into a nuke. I don't know how. How fucking how I stopped worrying and learned a lot of the Bob, Dr. Strangelove shit? Dr. Strangelove shit, man. How does that power anybody else? I don't know how it helps anybody, but that's how I want to go. There's a reverse equivalent of that in One Piece, where a guy picks up a nuke and flies into the sky with it.
Starting point is 02:00:40 Oh, Iron Giant is the absolute... If I have to find an application, then I'll Iron Giant it. I will Superman into space, and then you see the big... Are you going to include Vegeta blowing himself up to stop Boo in there? That's a good one. Because that's similar. But only if it works. It doesn't work.
Starting point is 02:00:57 Because then you might as well just be Chousu. Has Blade talked to you about the current arc of Dragon Ball? I've heard it's Rance. He doesn't have to. I've seen the Rance. Because Goku may be the stupidest motherfucker in the world. Probably. He is.
Starting point is 02:01:10 I think they've established that years ago. He is now responsible for hundreds of trillions of deaths. We're going to say tens of thousands of lives. Yeah. Let's... Good job, Goku. Take another one. Good job, Goku.
Starting point is 02:01:27 Sorry, I'm thinking I'm going to have to fucking deal that part about you talking about Steel Ball Run. It's clean. You can cut it. Yeah. I mean, that's the good shit, but it's so much fun to get there and go through it. That's fine. Just make sure to use the sound effect. And it's not meant to be known right away, so yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:47 My perception of that series has been warped. Well, because you wicked yourself through it. No, not just that. Because it's against everywhere. But I'm saying you don't have the tension of how that information is revealed. Oh, I do. Somewhere. Oh, you don't?
Starting point is 02:02:04 Yeah, I do. How? Have fun. I can do it. No, no, no, no, no. I mean, what I mean is you don't have the context of seeing how it unfolds, I mean, which is important to how good it is. So yeah.
Starting point is 02:02:18 It's tough for stuff like this, because Heart Seven's like 10 years old now, right? But it is. No, I'm not crazy, right? Yeah. And people are slowly making... Yeah, but you guys are still getting around to it. You see the Mandela effect? That's what's happening to me?
Starting point is 02:02:32 Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna say something we changed to a new universe in which what I said ceases to be true. Crazy talk. Yeah. The stance sucks. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:02:43 This stance sucks. Or jive talking, whatever. Or everything you know is wrong, whatever. So one last one coming in from Ricardo and he says, good day. You guys have said your opinions on fan projects that announced themselves too early in the past. We sure have. And I wanted to poke at this a bit further.
Starting point is 02:03:02 This seems like many fan projects come out too soon with the intent of wanting to praise, wanting praise and recognition from the fan base before the actual problem. Absolutely. Why? Oftentimes this leads to them getting C indeed. But even more so than that, I'm more surprised at how often small teams will pour years of hard work into making an unofficial sequel to a new Zelda, Metroid, whatever. And then announce it like, get shut down for it when they could have easily just changed
Starting point is 02:03:26 the sprites or artwork and had themselves a fully original release inspired by the thing they love. It just seems to me that more often than not, these indie games shoot themselves in the foot because they want to be the guys that made the new cool, non-official Zelda instead of being the guys that created the new great thing inspired by Zelda. Is it ego speaking higher than confidence? Yes. Is it worth it to have a C and D canceled Zelda remake instead of making the new 3D dot game
Starting point is 02:03:50 heroes? No. 3D dot hero. Sorry. That is completely legal and profitable. Best regards. He's completely right. He's absolutely completely right.
Starting point is 02:03:59 Yeah. It is ego. It's absolutely ego. It's like a mix of ego and just like, but we love it so much. That's the thing is I don't want to discount the part of it where they're like, no, but I just really love this thing. I'm a fan of this world and these characters and I don't want, it's not just the inspiration. I want to make that thing.
Starting point is 02:04:19 Then all you... You make a choice. And like, clearly at some point, every one of these projects had the decision to go, do we want to make an inspired thing or do we want to send a love letter to the series or whatever? That's like, you can send a love letter with inspired things, but they wanted more than anything to make an entry. It feels like a bad deal because your desire to pay tribute immediately negates a lot of
Starting point is 02:04:45 things that you probably deserve if you made a good one. It negates a certain amount of recognition. It negates all ability to make any money off of it ever. And it negates your ability to not have years of your life just thrown down the fucking toilet because you opened your mouth at the wrong time. Yeah. I think it makes the more expensive, elaborate investments make less sense. I think people...
Starting point is 02:05:12 I'm sorry after you. No. So like, you know, A2MR and stuff like that is like a long time coming or whatnot. And I mean, that came out and it's cool that that exists because of the original release it was on. Like that's a remake that makes sense. Yeah. Absolutely.
Starting point is 02:05:25 So you took a thing in a format that was like not super great and you made it better and that it's fine. But stuff like them's fighting herds is like, yeah, that is way too large of a project for this to get through and not cause problems. So of course they're going to want to see indeed that, you know? Chrono resurrection, of course, we always go back to it. But I feel like, yeah, the bigger your game project is, the more investment, the more the years you're spending, the more you probably should be doing something original.
Starting point is 02:05:57 I think there's a little bit about it where when someone thinks that like they they're about to make that decision between inspired by and versus like actually the thing is that people maybe don't want to get this perception that their project is, oh, it's just like a bad rip off, not sorry bad, but just a rip off. Like, look, these sprites are barely changed. It looks like a cheesy, like they don't view their project as that. I know we we we did a lot of smart things. We put a lot of work into it and they see that line of between.
Starting point is 02:06:29 But we could be like this really awesome remake of Metroid that everyone really likes. Or we could be this thing that will get no like no recognition, no whatever, because it doesn't have that name attached to it. Now, the thing about a Metroid remake, of course, is that it requires no design outside of what was originally there. Yeah, you just make it better, right? But when you make Pokemon Uranium and you have to design all those Pokemon or, you know, like any of these things where you actually are writing a story and designing characters
Starting point is 02:06:59 and doing like you're doing the heavy lifting anyway depends on the project. It depends on the project. But if you're doing all that heavy lifting anyway, it might as well be original. You know, I think it's like make your Metroid game all the way up to when you're when it's good to release or whatever it is and then make that decision of what you want this to be. Do you want to make money off this? If you don't need to, then who fuck it? Who cares?
Starting point is 02:07:22 Just put it out and some people can get it. I think people who work on these games for long periods and put out amazing stuff and they've fucked themselves by using like it's it's it's it's using Zelda or, you know, right? And it means that they're never going to get like even proper recognition for their work. I think that sucks. I would way rather than put their time into their own thing that can become its own thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:07:55 God, I had a really had a had an example that just slipped away. Oh, yeah, that's what it was. I think another asterisk in the situation is like anything that's like Barclay where it's like, yeah, OK. But Barclay is this nice sweet spot. But it's like your Barclay is kind of living in the perfect place where it's Bobo. The joke is that it's using a name, you know, and it's doing something else with it and your expectations and the punchline is like amplified by the fact that they're using the name.
Starting point is 02:08:24 I think people underestimate how easy it is to make your thing that's a total ripoff legally distinct. Legally distinct. The best type of phrase that Matt started to use a while ago for what the fuck was it? Some piece of music for Tony Hawk. Yeah, it's got a legally distinct version of this track. It's the best type. I have voices in my head.
Starting point is 02:08:49 Or five star wrestling. By the way, this just goes popped up. That's the inside of the case. Oh, you're showing me the Zelda Breath of the Wilds case. Yeah, like inside the case is just beautiful artwork. So you know what somebody sent me of? It's Link climbing up the cliff side. Check this Hunter X Hunter scene out.
Starting point is 02:09:05 Well, maybe you should watch it. Hunter X Hunter. I've seen, yeah, yeah. That? I've seen all, okay. You know, this is terrible for the podcast. He pulls a gun out. Hey, look at this picture I have.
Starting point is 02:09:14 Willie, look at this video I have. All right. Your phone wasn't even on. Willie, look, look, look, Willie. Yeah, hey. Look, it's a picture of my wiener. Yeah. Let's just talk about things holding up our phones to each other for the rest of the podcast.
Starting point is 02:09:27 There should be one, one podcast. That's all it is. And never actually, like, you know, tell anyone what we're talking about. Just go, oh man, that meme is hilarious. Okay, here's, here's a hilarious meme and you can go look at it on our subreddit. And it is the Nintendo switch, the game console that comes with a real gun. And it's, you can, you can play the switch anywhere, shooting the mare, poaching a goose, going to the grocery store.
Starting point is 02:09:57 It's fucking hilarious. That one's really good. I like that one. They memed good. It was dank. Dank? Yeah. Brennan would approve.
Starting point is 02:10:06 Uh, I feel like I'm going to die. What's coming up? What's coming out? What's coming out? Okay, Resident Evil, Dark Souls, Parasite Eve, and One-Offs will continue on our channel. Not that many One-Offs. I think we have like one or two at the most this week. One or two.
Starting point is 02:10:20 Yeah. Yeah. Well, there's a survival horror game we should take a look at. Also, I think, I think, I think the, we can throw, you can get another two off done. Yes. Yeah. I think we can play a bubble again. I think we can finish it.
Starting point is 02:10:33 Yeah, we can. Yeah, maybe. We probably can. We still, we, two-offs are now precedent that exists. We've never done a three-off, though. Yeah, uh, was Afro Samurai a three-off? No, that was a full LP. That was, there's a, there's a, there's a video that I, I want to make with Willie that is part three of two.
Starting point is 02:10:54 Yeah. Just confuse everyone. Um, so that's going to end as far as new releases go. Oh boy, this week's, uh, Berserk. Berserk, uh, there's, there's a game coming out. I'm really interested in Cold Night in the Woods that's coming out, uh, the same day. There's something else aside from Berserk, too. Is there?
Starting point is 02:11:16 Yeah. Or something else that we, I think we give a shit about, but, uh. I know River City Ransom's dropping. Oh, that's, that's, that's next week. And there's February 25th or 27th or something, I think. Yeah. Um, it's going to get, it's about to get shifty. There's going to be a lot of releases.
Starting point is 02:11:35 It's going to get hard. Big hard. When's near coming out? Near is coming out in three or four weeks. Okay. So Willie goes Horizon Zero Dawn, Zelda near. Okay. One week after the next.
Starting point is 02:11:46 God. It's bad. And those are all kind of the same game. But they're all open world, big RPGs. But 2017 in general, like Resident Evil, Neo, For Honor, then what you just. Then we had a week break. A week break. Then, uh, then Berserk, then what I just said, it's ridiculous.
Starting point is 02:12:07 Well, one good thing about Berserk is that's something you could definitely go and play and then just stop and then go back in. I got my Berserk for a day. Every time there's a new chapter, nothing happens. Or there's not a new chapter and nothing happens. Someone asked me like, Oh, what's the deal with Berserk? I'm like, and I go to men had an argument and one decides to take a boat to calm his nerve. It's the longest running argument of all time.
Starting point is 02:12:36 That's quite a long argument. He has a lot of nerves to calm. It's a couple's dispute. You can't have a quarrel. You can't have a bad ending if you don't have an edge. Oh, that one's very real. That one hurts. Roll safe.
Starting point is 02:12:51 Matt, you going to be streaming anything this week? Yeah, the aforementioned game I just mentioned, Night in the Woods, which had a kick starter that I never saw. But it has a really, really, you know, what's the kind of art style like Pat-upon or Locoroco, where it's all like shadows, high contrast, very colorful. It's high contrast. It's it's kind of a mysterious like game. You're kind of like Animal Crossing type people.
Starting point is 02:13:15 But it's like a weird, ad-ish, like Stranger Things type vibe. I saw a trailer for it months ago and I was like, well, that was good. The fucker. I forgot to mention Hollow Knight is about to drop. Oh shit, here's the Hollow Knight. Hollow Knight looks super cool. And that's happening. That's this week or within 10 days from now, I think.
Starting point is 02:13:36 It's getting so confusing. So I'll be streaming that on Wednesday at six, I think. You like 6 p.m., it seems. 6 p.m. is a good time. And since we talked about doing this before on Twitch, I am Matthew McMussles. Is that the same as your Twitter? That's Matt McMussles. Okay.
Starting point is 02:13:56 What are you streaming? I am going to be streaming for Honor, maybe Isaac and Pillars on Friday and Saturday at Angriest Pat, which is also my Twitter. Okay. We're going to push the social media shit. And what about you, Willie? This week. Are you going to be streaming?
Starting point is 02:14:11 No, but I am going to be launching my channel. Oh my god. Well, it was great to have you here. Yeah. Well, guys, I guess you see Willie's quitting now. He's going to go make his own channel. Oh my god, why is he quitting now? It's side content, side LP, side things.
Starting point is 02:14:26 Well, what do you call that? A sister channel, brother channel, baby channel? I call it a baby. I call it a side piece. Oh, side piece? Side piece. That's a gun, man. Yeah, side LP.
Starting point is 02:14:37 A side piece is a gun. It's also a person. B-side. He's cheating on us with himself. The best lover. And you can find me. The one he's most familiar. On YouTube.
Starting point is 02:14:53 Willie versus. Willie versus? Willie versus. Like Willie versus blank. Oh, I see. So versus that those movie, that moving company. And so on. Oh, dude.
Starting point is 02:15:04 And so on. You should make an Anna. You know what you should do for that? You should make an animatic breakdown of your feud with the moving company. Yeah, have an artist do it. Because that's a fantastic story. That goes and goes and goes.
Starting point is 02:15:17 It was a fun time. I forgot what episode I went into the full thing on. Well, it must have been multiple because that saga lasted over a year. Here comes round two. I'm about to move again. Go with Busta Move. Matt and I both use them.
Starting point is 02:15:30 They're fucking awesome. Willie, I was telling someone either in Vegas or in Los Angeles, like a fan or someone that we knew about your your moving story. And every time I retell it, I make it so that like you basically were punching them by the end of it. Like if it came like a fist fight, I was like, yeah, then Willie fucking threw him in the dumpster.
Starting point is 02:15:49 And he's like, all right. He just took a bunch of money out of their wallets. And now their business is over. Does the business continue to exist? I don't even know why it sounds. I'd probably not be hanging on by a thread to begin with, but I like the escalation to like people getting shots on the way up to court on the steps, you know, like whatever
Starting point is 02:16:08 there's that moment. People are going to the courthouse with like a towel. Yeah, they're covered the cops are escorting people and then someone pulls a gun out who shot him. That was my arcade cabinet motherfucker. That was my strike. Not feeling so secure. They destroyed the strike.
Starting point is 02:16:31 Yes, they deserve to die. And I hope they burn in hell. Oh, oh man. See you guys next week. See you next week. Can't beat that part. So I just want to say goodbye.
