Oh, you had a bunch of I had a bunch of them And then I found out that shrine quests Usually only are one of two different types of shrine quests

Where when you get inside you either get your blessing right away because guess what you already did the challenge a combat trial Yeah, so I was like, oh shit. I didn't realize that So I did a bunch of those like maybe six seven Uh, yeah, like no, it's like actually eight because I got like eight, uh, eight Uh, soul points or whatever. I don't know how a hero soul hearts soul hearts whatever so spirit arms spirit arms Yes, just generic orb type So some of those shrine quests like, uh, just to get the thing to the the shrine to open up Some of them are really really fun

And some of them are not fun at all There's one in the in the in Kakariko village was just probably the most involved side quest which one was with statues No, no, that's not It's the one where the thing gets sold The thing gets stolen. Yeah, the ball from Impa's house gets stolen. Oh, I haven't gone there yet That's probably the most involved side quest I've seen and it like it gives you a blessing at the end of it Okay, okay, so I've been doing those I started the long chain Of side quests that happen in Hatino village. Yes that involves construction

That you kind of was like this is how that that goes and I'm like, okay, cool So the construction brothers, uh, bronze in construction Some of the best dialogue in the game whenever you ask those guys to do things for you Like build this or build that they they have some of the best dialogue was that we're empowered by the spirit of construction We are beasts of construction So construction. Yes, that's good. So that's been really fun so far But then when I when I realized about how involved to completely clear this side quest out You have to travel to all four corners

Of oh, yeah, I didn't I was like, okay That one's uh, that one's like unlock it early and and chip away at it Or unlock it late and just fast travel to yeah So so have you noticed that um, you know how in every game there's like each race has its quirks in like That's right little things that help you like understand like the Gorons are like big tough gym bros. Yeah, brother. Exactly. And that was a good Uh, when you have to stand in the fire with the Gorons, of course, right? And then like, uh, you know for for for multiple games now The Zora have been this like you're like elegant like water elves their elves kind of kind of boring in past games

And this one not as much. Yeah, and um, oh my god, everything about the Gerudo Everything about the Gerudo is just what are you talking about? Vo? So But have you but is it but like I feel that like the the Rideau Are the Rideau? I should guess I should say are a little plain Right, they're like the new Zora. They're kind of it's interesting in how like there There's nothing about like you get a hint at how like they're like a prideful race because they're birds. Yeah, but Most of the ones you guys most of the random guys you meet on the on the road are just kind of like they're just really normal guys

It's all about Cass. Yeah, it's all about yeah Yeah, I guess it's just like they're like I'm surprised at how like they played it straight with that race Or as every other race has like a quirk that applies to all of them Yeah, no, I can see that like I haven't done much with the Rideau, but I've met Cass I you know, I've met other Rideaus. I meant that like a female Rideau in in Gerudo City, it's just like I remember I was like, oh, this is the first one I've found cool talk to her and she's like Yeah, I'm in Gerudo town just shopping. I'm like, oh man Cool. All right

and Aside from that the kind of the kind of uh, uh, jeez kind of lost my thread there though Uh, whatever. Yeah, you said the construction bros the construction bros and and that's that's basically it Just discovering where that construction bro quest like kind of leads you to a like a folly sort of Akala Akala lake that place is very otomy for whatever reason and I'm like, oh, this is a cool area and then Uh, just discovered that whole area didn't even know I really like the Akala region

It kind of didn't even know it existed. I don't know why there's so many random Yiga that show up and including the uh, Did you uh, the sword type? Did you uh beat any of the main dungeons? Yes, I beat one. I actually the game starts to populate more Yiga the more Okay, because I I went to their hideout, so I'm assuming that's why Oh, yeah, I like the idea of I like the idea of like the rito Going from like wind waker semi-human where we're starting to get our beaks a little bit Yeah, to just full-on fucking falco. Well, what's the most confusing thing is that in wind waker?

It was implied that they were the zora Which was stupid. Yeah. Yeah, that's why with the fish people turn into bird people on a water planet That's a huge jump of evolution there. Well random things happen And sometimes the randomness allows you to survive better like it's it's you know, whatever you can we can retcom that however you need to Whatever it's magic show. Yeah, it's actually the last in the timeline. Um, I'm enjoying Not so I noticed something like there definitely is not um, it's not even like a

I'm not saying the pace is recommended, but there's a lazy sort of like the next goal is really close to you over here Yes, right. There's definitely a I'm gonna take the I'm not gonna travel too far from my main goal Type of way to play the game and you can get from where you need to be You know you finish one thing and then the next like major adventure point is like one thing over And I saw like there was a poll that went up that said like hey, what order did you do? Yeah, I saw the things in exactly and it's like you see like 90 percent zora the first one and then Yeah, it's very much geared to like get you to go these places in this sort of direction So I'm I'm actively enjoying saying fuck that and going where I'm not supposed to do it works and

Really like and I'm getting like Yeah, like I'm getting moments of like you're way too weak to be in this area You're going way too far. You're climbing way too high But I'm loving it because I still get there and the payoff is still there intact because because after zora I went straight to Gerudo, which is far away. It's very far like I It would be faster for me to go to um Gorons or or even the Rito. So but I was just kind of like no Gerudo now. There are two I've uh me and and my whole regular we've all been playing it and we've been playing on discord

Like we'll be playing at single player just talking the whole time like eight people and I've noticed that there are two main ways that people are playing this game and Matt and I represent the two extremes of that and it's Okay, everybody go nearly everyone will go Uh, uh fucking plateau Kakariko Then Hateno right because that's the the nice thrust and you get all your abilities Then in the course of that

Almost everyone I've talked to will go down to the bay And then go oh, I'm gonna go over that island over there. Yeah, I did right I did that then they get to you because you see it from the lab and then you get to the island And that's where the path splits There's the people who stay and play that island all day And then there's the people that go oh Whoa, I'm gonna I'm gonna back off on this shit for a bit and The people who cleared that island right away

Most of them that I've spoken to have not done any of the story and they just went shrine hunting Or or or what have you and everybody else seemed to like go some Lackadaisical version of Actually playing the game maybe as it was intended. Yeah, I will I will I will use the um the the like major uh Beast focal points on the map as like that's the general direction I'm wandering yeah in but it'll take me who knows how long to get there as I'm picking off every shrine I spent I spent a whole evening this past week going in the hebra mountains and just being like

I know there are shrines here because the the thing is pinging Yeah, but the hebra mountain ones are all in the mountain inside. Yeah, wow. They are tough to find Uh, I just want to say and I don't I don't even want to add another sentence to this afterwards Everything about the master sword in this game is the best is 100 percent the best you just know about it Did you get it or did you just know about how it's done? I got it He would not know the other cool parts about it. Okay. I haven't even attempted that yet everything about the master sword in this game is like I can't even like another level. What else is going on over here And that was it, you know, so so I what a wonderful surprise near near I was like, all right, I'm gonna do this right now And I just peered over the edge and I saw some giant maze That's popped up sprouted out of nothing out of a valley amist and it's literally a maze And I go what's going on over there And I was like, but I don't know if I can get there yet. That's a long distance and I was just like, okay I'll I'll do something else for now the fucking other two of those are pretty good

If you ever feel like you're not gonna make that distant far thing Grab a goddamn chicken. Yes, and then ride it out And where I could have possibly done that far was yeah, the last thing I remember what I wanted to say before where I got a good a pretty decent Sheet in a in a shrine where it was one where you had to uh, there's balls on these conveyor belts And uh, each there's about three rooms and you're supposed to uh stasis the conveyor belts to make them stop I know the one you hit the balls with an arrow to knock them into the thing and the last one when there's oh That's what you're supposed to do

Yeah, I just raw did it like how with my arrows It's hard. I was why is this so hard? Yeah Stasis the conveyor belts I didn't stasis the conveyor belts at all. That's what you're supposed to do. No, I that's a way better So that was your version of the only thing that you can stasis. No, you can say you can stasis the ball itself You can stasis the ball. You can stasis the laser. That's dumb. You can stasis the blocks You can stasis literally every aspect of that puzzle. You cannot stasis the lasers. Can you one? Yes, of course I didn't know you can stasis the lasers and that's my solution. So fuck you. You know what my fuck you

There's a million ways through it My in that last room where it has the lasers and you're supposed to I don't even know how you're supposed to do it Like throw the the ball on the other conveyor belt grab it again Or I don't know what it was what I did was just when the ball rolls in on that side of the room where it comes out It's like on the extreme left and your goal is over there I just stasis the stasis the ball and just hit it a bunch And then it just launched over and I just walked through the conveyor belts. That's one way That's one way. We all completed the shrine. We all did it. We got it

Um, aside from zalda Turok 2 I played that a bunch stream some of it. How is it? Um, it's got a lot of quality of life improvements like you didn't have to fix that But thank you like Turok will automatically pull himself up on ledges if you miss Oh, that's nice because the platform in Turok 2 is bad Aside from that the multiplayer completely new maps that they made Lots of options like Turok 2 multiplayer was not great because it was a last minute addition to compete with golden eye Turok rage wars and other stuff is a different matter

But they put in a lot of work on that and I actually had a good time blasting people in that so that was fun Um, I saw lego batman. Oh, yeah, it was all right well It not and not a patch on the lego movie which to me is a life affirming film That's like in my top whatever the the the original lego movie batman was still good But since it's warner brothers, they kind of did this dumb thing won't go too much into it, but like They decided hey, we're warner brothers. You know who we can put else in this movie everyone

That's not from dc So they have this overreliance on the plot to use other characters and like The batman universe gets a bit of a shaft in that way. I was kind of like It's not bad. They have a fun design that's like half dark knight rises, but all dark knight rises voice So he always comes in and it's just like And it's I want to action figure of bane is it is it doing the new bane or doing the old cartoon bane? It's doing a mix of both, but the voice is is tom hardy like And he never does a single thing he just says stuff so that that overall was fun But I was just a little let down Another thing I was a little let down in was kong skull island. Unfortunately, but it's monster movie sure is But then I'll be extra picky

you know um It's got the opposite problem of godzilla 2014 where they actually show too much monster battles And they're so quick, but there's so many of them. They actually got a like not not bored, but like Does it does it give you the feeling where you're like, oh look a monster guess kong's gonna beat it in eight seconds Yeah, so wait the trailer showing you all those action scenes those are all of them. Yeah Well, you the trailer it felt like i'm like how many like there's so much happening here These are all different in in moments different backgrounds different events. Yeah. Yeah, it feels like there's way too much happening

There's a lot, but they're they all happen in like a minute or less or so Now the movie is still entertaining like I still had fun overall, but like there's like barely anything there in the movie It's hey, let's go to skull island because it's neat Let's go. That's real nido. Let's leave As soon as they touch down none of the characters really have anything to do It it it kind of very very like roughly like has a link to The organization that's in godzilla and they just don't they don't do a lot to establish a lot of lore and The the stuff that they do lasts another minute john c riley just gives a big plot dump john c riley

Without a doubt the best part of the film like the funniest character you've been raising Which is weird because I remember seeing the trailers and like I hope john c riley doesn't tank this film No, everyone else kind of everyone else is just Like tom hiddleston. He's fine Allison ellison brie is fine everyone else is fine sam jackson just actually kind of annoying What he's just like this annoying character that's like no it has to be like this and everyone's like this is so stupid We're going to die. He's like no, but my reasons though and you're just like I had a purple lightsaber

People getting jacked up in this movie Harley Quinn and the lego batman movie is uh, john ralfio's sister Oh, wow. Yeah Mona Lisa Saperce. She's hilarious in parks and rag She's a hilarious. She's an snl cast member under the boss with you from bobsburgers and stuff. But yeah, anyway Anyway, yeah, uh, and just like I I still had fun But I was just like I feel like another kong movie would be better like a sequel Would improve on it because they don't spend a whole lot of time on the setup

But once they get to the monster island It just feels like a it feels like they filmed it in hawaii Which they probably did whereas like in the peter jackson kong It was this fantasy island that they matt painted and put little Minutra models and they made it they they gave that island a lot of personality This island has like no personality. It's just it just seems like any force monsters on it There's some monsters on it that get killed all in 10 seconds. Okay. Well, I mean they're pretty tough though, right? They're okay

And and the one final thing is that kong himself who's who's uh, sorry Are you do we know who wrote and directed? I do I'll get I was about to get to that but just overall though. There's like a lot of good Cinematography there's a lot of good shots. I was like, oh, that's a good shot So and kong himself is like deaf and he's not ape like he's not like running around on his knuckles He's like a monster. So he's upright all the time like bashing things and I'm like, yeah, okay That makes more sense the shots in the trailer that showed him in broad daylight. Yeah, unfortunately showed him to look a lot like Caesar and like planet of the apes. There's a little bit of that

Like you're basically almost like an upright. He's upright. Yeah, you're not really aping too much Which I don't mind because that facilitates a fight against godzilla better. I guess at the end of the movie Did they show godzilla? Sorry a fucking uh kong eating His vitamins so that he can grow five times larger. You want to know what the line is? Oh, yeah, I want to know what the like the Five words are. Yeah, like kong's big, but he's getting bigger. Oh, fuck you He's like a young kong. Oh, okay. I'm invisible to his game They can bring an ai in And then we can go on a mission in which I can see everyone but can't hurt anything They don't see me And when they beat and leave the mission the game hangs infinitely until I leave the session And then it loads in the the the fucking area guessing the vita didn't have this problem. Neither does the ps4

Guess what the voice chat is abysmal It is awful So what you have to do it depending on what your setup is is you have to load the game go into the lobby

Go into your window settings disable your microphone so that it breaks Then exit discord Re-enable your microphone go into discord Then enter your conversation and it should if you have a mic plugged in it will be on Yes, so you have to go in and disable it so that it breaks in that lobby And then you can turn it back on and it won't reconnect That it sucks Like I almost don't believe you you want me you want to fucking load it up on that computer

But you feel that you can get there with time.
