we starting it up and that was a lot of work I would honestly suggest to you that maybe you should spread these work periods out so that you don't go for nothing and then kill yourself in a week oh yeah no for sure that's understandable but you kind of had cool stuff you had to do well yeah dude Matt's killing himself all day and night I yeah I for some reason I always get the appearance that he has an easier time handling that kind of editing workload well I don't it's kind of nuts in looking at the amount and also try to figure out I I I don't know if there's any like I mean I don't know if there's

any like sort of like after like leisurely activities that would take up time I can't think of any so I think like he's basically just locking it down and going nuts on the editing cuz like that's all he's got all the time in the world for it and he's doing an incredible job with that output you see the fucking booth and banner and I did I was very impressed by his skeleton what the hell is that that's like what see that's the great is that what about what what's the con call retro so Cal wrote retro game retro okay so that's what's great about when you go to a smaller con where they actually give a shit about

it's fun when you sleep with the same person twice the second time you get to do the weird stuff the second time right up to the weird stuff hey man if you're an asshole that has no time to waste like Captain Hammer then you're just gonna get right to the weird stuff oh fuck that's that's from so the yeah I don't know like this weekend I guess we'll go on to the fucking the core we'll just get right on to it I unfortunately didn't get to get to play any matches of a monster hunter with my boy soul Carl honestly you said matches so I thought that a sentence was gonna end in DBZ you play DBZ I assume but I got in on the

beta enough to do some proper training with the charge blade yeah and I noticed I took a piece of advice from you which is hey I love this game and people don't know shit ask me about monster hunter and you asked a very interesting question I can't like I at no point I had seen all the parts but I never combined the parts yeah to see oh that's what that looks like when you're all buffed up there's so in particular you have your you know your your big super and here's what I that's what I like about the charge blade in particular as a weapon in monster hunter world is it has like a a chart that you're basically

trying to follow there there's build up meter there's a really specific flow to it yes you build up meter with weaker attacks eventually you get into your stronger attacks and then you drop a superdown yeah switch taxes is very similar where you build up sword gauge while you're in axe mode then you do damage in sword mode to build up your your fucking grab gauge I don't know what the fuck it's called sure but then your your regular super becomes a command grab on the monster instead of a fucking regular super wait what does that mean oh you haven't seen it what is that okay have you seen have you seen the

switch axis elemental discharge no okay so the switch axe has two modes it has the axe which is a regular axe very similar to the charge blades axe mode that's the primary yeah instead and the sword is the secondary yeah yeah sword takes I did mess with it yeah the sword takes meter when you hit because it attacks way faster and it's more right if you fill a second meter up you're one of your your super changes so your regular super with switch axe which was the old one it's called elemental discharge it's really similar to the charge blades one where you hit both attack buttons and you stick up the the

blade the sword part and you just start mashing it and it just starts vibrating and exploding oh yes I'm doing tons and tons and then it explodes yeah if the ball if the second bar is full that goes from a strike to a command grab so if you attack the monster and touch it you will climb on to whatever part that you touched stab the weapon into the monster and do the elemental discharge inside them and then when it explodes you'll be thrown clear oh wow cool and does I mean they keep doing their animations and or like they don't like it okay okay that's fucking cool yeah well no with with charge blade I

basically got down the I got the the move set in my mind I've got the fast charge combos going down a lot of them coming off of your shield pop and you mess around with your guard points not I mean I tried but I don't they're super weird down because because the guard point stuff revolves around knowing when the monsters like exact hits like moment is and I am dude so there's two guard points that it has it's the the round slash that ends with the shield that one's really tough right sure the easier one is when you just go to transform into axe the instant you hit the button you have a guard point right

so when the easiest one to do it on is when Diablo's just runs straight at you yeah and you can guard point that and then Diablo's just falls down like a bitch I mean so in the end I did you know it's a crazy swag move but I was just rolling out of the way yeah and then you know doing damage on the tad and wherever I could I did manage to fell an energy gigger you know you killed you killed Nigel nigger nigger got a so yeah took him out so you can you have you have a couple ways you can do this you can go the in-game pronunciation of near gigante aha which sucks you can go near gigante what I thought you can say

Nigel uh-huh which is what a lot of people call him or spiky boy okay I think I just made my own or or porcupine dragon if you prefer I think I prefer my own I would prefer one that I'm allowed to say I like the monsters that I can say those are my favorite saw monsters oh boy oh yeah you got him nerdy gantes in Paris yeah he is he got him down got him down and it was with some it was with two random Japanese guys yep so it was pretty dope that's awesome because this is the first game that's that has allowed people to play across region the main reason why it wasn't allowed before is that Japan

would always get the games like nine months ahead of time so why would you even fucking bother playing with the Japanese players right yeah um I you know I felt really good as one guy was doing his like long-range you know gunnery bow stuff and the other person was just swinging their hammer yes and going in and it was really good against nerdy because those fucking spikes oh did you did you latch on like what those what the shenanigans with those spikes is well I I know that like the elements have we strengths and weaknesses but I mean obviously don't know what they are so the deal with his spikes is that when

they're out at all he gains a damage reduction like he he it's a defensive bonus okay and when they they're out long enough that they turn black you bounce off of them and they gain a huge damage reduction okay so it's a boss that is intended it's like no you're gonna go in and you're gonna hit him and you're not gonna stop hitting him no the fight will has to be aggressive yeah yeah and when he gets spikes fully grown on his whole body that's when he does the fucking dive bomb explosion shit yes yeah yeah which explodes spikes in every single direction yeah that thing is I had less trouble with that than I did

his psycho crusher because he's psycho crusher actually lines up to hit at least two of you and like if at the last second you're describing a psycho crusher what are you actually talking about I'm talking about the thing where he runs back poses and comes flying at you in a spinning corkscrew oh yes that one and when he does that he actually lines himself up and I saw the AI deal with the party running in opposite directions yeah by correcting to hit the one where two people were yes that's a really important thing because the moment that you see the first monster turn in place on their axis yeah that's

when you go okay that so the next time you see yes to the next time you see narigagante turn in place on his axis when you're really far away you will know exactly what is coming and hopefully you guys just like sprint in opposite around it yeah I it felt really nice while they were doing the consistent damage and the you know the gunner was hanging back and then I would just like poke poke poke poke poke fucking explode boom you know and then disappear for a while scrape my shit up yeah you know put on my rock steady get back in rock steady is going to be a late game for sure that thing is so good it is busted

good well here's what I realized this time after doing some sessions now the it sucks when I don't know I didn't know the rules of like how lives are shared yes right lives are shared communally I was doing my part not dying a whole lot yeah while everyone else was just like burning through them and when I died once I'm like I'm out what the fuck so here here's the fun bit so for the beta they toned it down a lot in the beta you get nine carts on everybody but narigagante and you get five carts on on narigagante in the real game it's gonna be three carts for every hunt okay so everyone minus one okay and I once you

will learn very fast who is slowing the team down fuck very fast and you don't because one of your own one person can just bomb them the run also what determines whether you get 15 or 20 minutes them fucking with you on the beta seriously they the so the the actual in-game timer on every mission in Monster Hunter is 50 minutes five zero five zero holy shit so you have more like people people complain about the timer and everybody who plays Monster like no no the timer in the in the real game is 50 minutes okay then cuz man the reason why narigagante is the reason why everybody else is 20 is because it's a

beta and they don't want you just going and going yeah yeah and the reason why narigagante is 15 is because at 20 everyone would be able to beat him easily within the weekend cat 15 it is a serious fucking challenge because that extra five minutes of damage is a big deal right right right okay um yeah no and and as someone like he's not he doesn't have as many like I'm gonna go lie down phases as some of the other guys do you know in that way so and he's immune to traps right yeah it's there there's a it's because there's two classifications basically there's almost every single monster in the game and

then there's elder dragon elder dragons are the ones that have blue scout flies okay they're there's why they were they're immune to traps they all have some kind of special gimmick to their body that may so there's one that has a permanent fire damage aura within two three feet of it uses Christ so and there's another that has a wind aura that if you run towards it and try and hit it it will knock you back and it will deflect projectiles wow okay right there they're like narygante is up there like endgame like yeah that's why he gets his special gimmick so what I was doing to combat the the garbage of like

shitty players dying off so often and I felt really weird because I'm like this is like my second time yeah you're a comparative and it's like really anyway um what was so I basically just realized okay don't use any of my don't use my mantle right until later when you you need it because like that'll be my next life basically and combining rocksteady with demon powder yes like I'm like I'm standing in front and I'm holding this fucking so it's interesting because that's that's like step zero is just get killed step step one is save my mantle for the time when I really need it and step two is use the mantle

immediately so that it recharges by the end of the 15 yeah yeah I was doing that all right at first but then when we ran out of lives I'm like that only works if you're confident in the time dying yeah like when you when you play world on your own you'll be playing with Carl you'll be playing it with me maybe people that you can go hey fuck off don't die person right right right instead of random person from france or japan or what have you and I think I finally set my wheel to everything I'm gonna need for like at least for what I've played at the game so far there's a bunch of items that I really don't know how to

use or know the application so the beta gives you almost everything you could possibly take into a hunt it's absurd the options that that is that is the amount that you would take on a max prep speed run okay yeah sure yeah normally like normal right let's say the average hunt health items maybe life powder that's the one that heals everybody yeah yeah antidote if they do poison I mean traps my way and the bomb that is good against the monster you're fighting my wheel like when I was done was just the three heels right whetstone rocksteady demon powder and then trap and barrel yeah that's great

and I'm like I don't guess what you found the important ones sure yeah okay did somebody teach you about sleep bombing Carl showed me how to like put traps down and then put the the the giant barrels and then like blow them up before you wake up right yeah so that sleep bombing you at the first hit on a monster when it's sleep is double damage yeah so if all the barrels explode simultaneously you get double damage on everything so here's what happened here's what happened yeah okay everyone intuitively the other the two guys knew to put down the giant bomb and they put it right next to the head and they did the

whole thing and I'm like oh I know how to do this too and you put down the small one didn't you? I put down the small one! oh man and then you know like like clearly they just they just rolled with it because what else are you gonna do well the instant that happens it's done damn it I fucking aw I totally choked I'm like yeah barrel right sure it's like large barrel you nincompoop and then it and then it gets goofy because it's like it's actually better you have a gunland sky he's gonna do the whiffing fire directly into the barrels or you have a greatsword guy he's gonna do this

is really hard to aim you know greatsword has the double swing at the end of its combo okay so you do regular charge tackle regular charge tackle then the big one but the distance has to be right so that the first baby hit misses and then the second hit hits the monster in the face and explodes all the barrels for the extra wallop yeah it's like the did the the time I can't do it it's really hard Magama put up a clip of him like fucking it up by like an inch and then still killing a still killing there you gotta do it um it's really tricky to to like get that proper super apt elemental discharge down the middle

so that every part of that linear explosion does its damage you get to live the horrible life that bow users and all the gun users have which is I have an attack that goes down a vertical line this means I have to either hit the monster in the head or the tail all the way down wait the bullets and arrows Pierce ammo's pierce bullets and more as they go longer well so you know the big fancy bow move where they scrape the bow against the floor and they fire like a super bow and arrow I know okay well they do one where they they scrape it so that little rockets go on the arrow okay and then they fire this huge shot the

shot hits every let's say foot of in-game space if you shoot the monster broad it will hit once maybe twice if you shoot the monster in their forehead and go and aim it so that it goes all the way down the tail pop it will hit like pop pop pop 15 times that's amazing and same thing with Pierce ammo same thing with the elemental discharge because the elemental discharge it's like five six times but it's vertical it goes in a straight line yeah so if you hit them horizontally you're gonna miss like two or three of them sick wow okay cool um yeah so I got it which means I got the special whatever those items are pretty

good one of them is a ticket that gives you extra rewards on a quest of your choice okay I want more than anything the ability to not wear my helmet well it's a toggle and the options in the beta I brought that up last time didn't I yeah so I forgot to look for it there are an astonishing amount of control options in in that game which which target do you go I use target camera not focus camera focus camera gives you the exact same problem Dark Souls's lock on gives you where okay when you're fighting a Dark Souls dragon and you're underneath the dragon the fucking camera goes crazy yeah and it's the same way

here yeah but it's all dragons and you're always underneath them so it goes nuts so I use the target cam so double tap to switch the character single tap to switch the monster yeah and and it just it just it just points you at it because now that there's a real analog stick all this I almost never used fucking target camera right I need it also that horseshit of like running by some bullshit monster and then clicking and then it look turns to look at the stupid fucking armadillo well you can you can change the lock on to only target large monsters as well you can also change the radio menu to require

clicking R3 to yes yes queen or if you can't stand the radio menu at all and when you're switching items with L1 and the buttons you want to be able to move your camera you can turn the radio menu off oh wow because I see that there's so many options there in the options menu go to camera when you go there's five pages and it's like gameplay camera etc camera has two pages you have to get to the second page with the d-pad because there's so many options because I hated the fact that you have to release the stick to use the item or release the shoulder button it causes to cancel it causes a significant amount of like oh

I put my mantle on didn't want to do that tons of bullshit yeah yeah get rid of that shit nice nice nice okay good good good good good very good I was discovering new moves for weapons up until the the last 10 minutes of the beta and right before the beta ended somebody told me on Twitter did you know that the greatsword can sheath during its forward roll wow it's like no I didn't wow and I went and tried it out and that means if you fuck up you just had you you tackle out of your your your stupid fucking charge then roll forward and as you're getting up the sword goes on your back and you're able to freely move

again and if I remember correctly like you really want to sheath often with a greatsword so that's super useful as long as if the monster is more than two feet away from you put your put your fucking sword away so shout outs to infinite fall down no damage rather no fall damage is great it's it's it's really really no fall damage you can fall all the way off the top and do a great do a tuck roll yeah and it's badass that's fun um shout outs to systems I barely understand like accidentally grappling onto some birds while I was fighting and being like wait what how do oh no so the and then swinging and

turning it into an airdrop strike which was awesome completely accidentally so I did a stream with spy on the weekend that was five hours long by accident I only plan to do two and then and the whole time was here's how this system works now here's how this system works here's and then after the stream we talked until five in the morning because he would ask me well what's that about like oh well that's actually a really complicated it is system upon system upon system upon system mm-hmm it is it is the blaze blue of character action sure where everybody gets their own meters and everybody gets their own

fucking shit whoo yeah but thankfully it wasn't so overwhelming that I couldn't just jump into training mode for five minutes get reacquainted with the moveset and then just jump online well all that all that mechanical complexity is so that when you want to put more time in there's more for you mm-hmm the general gist of it is hit is oh god I saw this on the Monster Hunter subreddit was so good it's as a beginner don't get hit hit the monster mm-hmm as a an expert it becomes hit the monster don't get hit and that's it you're the priority changes sure sure what yeah so well there's so much fucking crazy shit

well you're talking about all that plus there's all that day one update stuff going down and whatnot I saw there's so much what what's the name of the the guy the third monster again that was like ready to nap in the in the beta a horn dinosaur horn dinosaur no no no thing with the thing with the horn in the front yeah yeah two horns yeah the Diablo's in the desert are you talking about the tea the little t-rex guy that gets a weird nose bone yeah that's angina angina yeah okay right so he was the hardest in the previous one right minus the hidden boss no no Diablo's was the toughest okay but he was the

toughest that had a mission okay either way I went back to angina just for fun and like I smoked him can't believe how I smoked him oh yeah unbelievable smoke like fucking nothing yeah nothing he's a bitch you know why cuz you have a gear that is equivalent to him and you know what he does and that's it that's all that it actually is I guess I just remember it being a real fight last time good cuz that cuz monster hunters just is it's three things what did you bring in with you how strong is your character per their gear and how well do you know the fight if you can get two of those things you can win if you have one of

those things it's gonna be rough and if you have zero of those things get fucked so last thing was I popped on the fucking glaive you join our holy shit hey hey how's Marvel it's like you can do what like also that little side bug thing the kinsect okay y'all okay you want you want a quick explanation what that is all right so the cabuto the kinsect is is half of the weapon it is half you send it out it flies it attacks it makes a little purple like bug area and then you attack that and it blows up and then you can bring it back to you but I don't know what it does okay so so the the the the insect glaive and the charge blade were added in four and as a result they are by far the most

complicated ones charge blade you know quite well sure right well pretty well okay so the the insect glaive has its regular combos which are pretty normal it has the ability to jump all the time it has the build it has the ability to air dash itself it has the ability to do a jumping attack and a jumping forward moving dash attack right you can do a double prop yeah so here's here's what the bug does the bug is half your gameplay because there's two ways you can shoot the bug you can you can aim and then hit right trigger to shoot a little pod yeah and then the bug attacks it and that just causes damage so you can use that to oh please bug hit barris head because it's hard to hit barris head or something like that but the real thing is that you aim with

l2 and then you send the bug out with triangle the bug's going to go out and it's going to get juice so if you shoot the if you shoot the bug at uh regular ass monsters around like the little ones yeah it'll get green juice and that'll heal you when it comes back oh wow and you you retrieve it with l2 and circle so it's l2 and triangle to shoot it out circle to bring it back right if you shoot the monster a large monster in the face it will give you red juice if you shoot them in the legs it'll give you white juice and if you shoot them in the body like the torso yeah it'll give you orange juice okay red juice changes every single one of your attacks to a longer and better combo so the for example oh is that the that's that bar the secondary bar

yeah okay because i filled but two bars once one was and you're like why am i so much better yeah and i don't remember whether the color was red or orange or whether the other was blue or green yeah but there were two bars filled and every attack was going ham yeah so your jumping attack becomes this huge spin right yeah yeah white juice makes you run faster considerably okay i believe it also makes you jump higher and orange juice works as a defensive buff it gives you a defense buff and it makes it so that you don't flinch as easily however how many juices can you juice at once you can get all three of those juices and if you if you juice all of them you get a second set of buffs from all of them your attack goes up the the bar is now reset to a 60 second timer no

matter how long the juice was left on all of them i think it's 60 seconds might be 90 seconds um and you gain ear plugs so you can stand in front of the so when the monster roars free damage just bam bam bam free damage you just you just gain temporary air plugs yes wow but all your buffs are gone and then a minute or two later your buffs will go off so get your juice again oh fucking juices loose that's pretty sick so here's where it gets really nuts wow you know how you upgrade weapons like oh i'm gonna upgrade this bone glaive to a thunder glaive sure the kinsect is upgraded separately yeah it's a second slot because it has its own buffs you can have it shoot out really fast do knock out damage or the buff that everybody wants double the length of your

buffs that's the one that met that's 120 seconds yeah or well or two minutes or the three minutes okay that sounds unbelievably broken compared to every other item it has been nerfed in every game since its appearance that sounds so strong combined with the fact that you're flying all over the place like an asshole it has been nerfed since every appearance because when it came out in four it was busted i imagine charge blade and and insect glaive when they came out yeah busted they were sued the complexity adds so much incentive because the payoff is huge yeah okay also the insect glaive has an infinite um so uh you know a triangle triangle circle when you have your uh with no red buff is a pretty decent combo a triangle triangle circle when you have the red

buff combos into itself infinitely oh yeah so well it's a game with no hits done so that's fine yeah but what it means is that if you have the buff and the monster gets knocked down go to the tail and just damage damage damage damage and it never stops okay yep so i guess the next thing i want to try to see what it's like to do is is do one of those captures i did get a tail cut um oh feel so good yeah i want to get one of those captures see what that's like and how do you do is there a way to like because i wanted to jump into the third yes i wanted to jump into the third map but tell everybody let's hunt um the asshole downstairs uh what do you mean uh the devil lost in the cave well uh your your time's up for that because the baby's over of course but i just

been like it's like the way you you you pick a mission but he's like a secret boss in the way that it's gonna work uh basically is upon discovery of a monster in the overworld it tells you hey you're your buddy you will unlock their associated quest if you are high enough level okay um so what i'm searching i can just tell people hey actually we're going straight for him that will only work if you've advanced far enough in the game that the because the the missions are all denoted by stars yeah and like diabolos may not show up in the two star desert map he may only show up in the three star desert map or something like that because the the map population will be including everything in the game at that point okay okay but like the the idea of like uh let's load into

this person's map but hunt this that's that's not a realistic thing because if you have fought that monster in any concept or seen it you will have the ability to it has it so to just go and get it yeah okay with possibly one or two exceptions being invader monsters which are monsters that are way way too tough for you when they appear and they just zone in to fuck with you during your regular ass hunt or attack the monster double Joe the one that got announced is the title update yeah that that is an invader monster where he shows up at the very beginning of high rank and is like an end game boss but just stomps around and the instant he shows up just run okay how did how did your missions go oh man it went great friends is a fantastic student he learns

fast and is really good with the heavy bow gun like right away which i thought was weird because that thing is complicated but he's he seemed to think it was simple but yeah no that stream went on and on and on because there's there's like i showed him how the hunting horn worked you you fucking see that thing uh you attack and it plays notes and then you play a song and it buffs the party she's cry as well is uh is it correct to assume that whoever is hanging back doing long range is also in charge of healing no okay no um because life powders there there are very very party heels like the vast majority of your state will be kept by you like you will you will be responsible for yourself the only people that should actually

be hanging back is the ranged people with their ranged weapons but even then they shouldn't hang that far back because there's a concept called critical distance did you use any of the ranged weapons at any point only in training okay so no no i went into fight um rockfucker so with the bow and arrow so you know how when you aim you if you're aiming at something really far it says out of range yeah and it's like okay don't even bother yeah and then you move forward and you get the crosshair if you move forward even more you get a second crosshair inside the crosshair and that means you're within the weapons critical distance where it will actually do its full percent damage and it's there to make sure that even the ranged people are never getting

more than like 15 feet away they're always going to be in range for nergigante to turn and get them that'd be interesting to see in like the assaults the critical distance for for magic for magic it would honestly solve a lot of problems yeah you'd be in the range of their actual moveset yes there's there's a there's so many things that i see in this and i go well you took this from monster hunter just take this also but the i guess in souls it would be tough to actually explain that like why is my magic why is your soul arrow weaker suddenly shit ass yeah slash why is a point blank uh lightning spear incredible yeah because it's the shit like that lightning spear in dark souls three that you aim at the

for losers and you that's one of the things that they will push you towards optional quests that aren't part of the main story is like hey you can upgrade your bread and then you get a better buff or you'd get more stamina out of eating food i've only ever selected chef's choice it's the best one in the in the beta it's the best one i i mean again like considering like you have the money's inconsequential yeah for these things so yeah okay um palico i just dropped the hammer the hammer on it and give him the anja armor is there any difference or really reason to go with anything else oh yeah dude they're like a little character for you like for sure but but what i mean is is like well here's one when when me and when me and spy were fighting narigagante neither of us

had poison weapons but our palicos did and so narigagante got fucking poisoned okay okay um there there are abilities that you can use the trap on your item on your item bar like the the fucking the the flash bomb or the heal or the the taunt they're really good those are really strong abilities the shield that pulls them over to yeah the shield basically says until the palico dies the monster will ignore you 100 percent that's that's crazy uh palico deaths and oh they they go away for a couple minutes and they come back okay i don't give a shit and they can also ride monsters yeah i've gotten that before so yeah like every every armor set has a palico equivalent and to answer your question absolutely there's absolutely value in gearing those guys up because

they help they genuinely really help and that's also completely separate from the in map ones that drop traps for you yes those are uh god linians okay it's a different race of cat people okay whatever anyway they they they they fucking put their head full yeah they did that that was good ride ride the monster over to where they're at and the monster gets trapped for like a minute oh boy all right um i can talk about this fucking forever i know i know but like literally like we were trying to we're trying to make it i know but also we're Balkans that's it but also no wait those are the evil ones but also other people you know um what uh else did you do with your week i actually played a lot street fighter cool like a lot okay um i'm crawling my

timing yeah of course that's why ed blows v trigger two up because he does his snatcher like from wherever the fuck he wants oh my god there's a video of ed throwing out the he activates a v2 throws out the the fireball the psycho shot and then like uh i think menat or cammy jumps over it and then he snatches them from the air from full screen pulls them in and uppercuts and it's the most violent thing i've seen in street fighter it's so brutal looking like get the fuck out of the air sky's protected it was really really cool absolutely you completely throw it but at certain ranges they actually can't walk forward far enough to throw it or or you can just let go when they dash or you know that that man his input timing is easier than i was led to believe on

some of his real bullshit well if you don't have v trigger one going and you don't have to actually no i was doing all his v trigger one stuff okay did it get easier it did get easier yeah they changed it to be easier that's true that's true it's a lot easier than because i'm able to do it reliably okay and i don't often pick v trigger one but when i do the funny part is though like the like with you going with that character choice is that like gief is better than ever and right now with v trigger two v trigger two is horrifying i hate it it's so scary dude guess two supers guess twice you know he honestly has such a ridiculous upper hand if like on round two right on round two when he starts with meter you're fucking he's so scary and like uh again so it's like if you

wanted to capitalize on gief like now's well no here's here's the thing it's like i like the reason i went to abigail is because he's bigger and that's that's it sure i owe it but like once i'm comfy with abigail i will put gief in my pocket sure and i will put birdie no birdie sucks now fuck him i prefer i prefer gief and abigail birdie does not suck now but sure oh he doesn't no that no those chains are credible then people were lying to me those chains are incredible then honestly like so many characters are now super good with this v trigger two shenanigans like they're like there's a lot of momentary marvel going on with these characters and you're seeing it i could feel it yeah like activate game goes nuts well i hate laura yeah that's

gonna be i hate laura that's a thing i hate it yep take that character out well guess what she's doing to you what urian was more or less doing to you back in third strike you mean i was doing to to other people what urian is supposed to do you know that brutal non-stop i'm on your ass you're not getting away thing and you have to know when the buttons are safe and not safe and you have to know when you can challenge i'm i'm starting to pick it up but i hate it well i'll be honest i i've i've been long away and i want a character that's like i want a character to play that isn't a giant grappler for when that completely fails me do you have any personal recommendations i did play a little bit of nash back in the day you got five of them coming but

like uh it depends on your style i mean i'm gonna drop whoever and just pick up g when he comes out sure yeah yeah but but it depends on what you will also have a command grab because it depends like if you back in the day i would have said like oh you might want someone with like a parry alex is cool for that but then it's like no there's but then you know there's get damaging command grabs all around the cast there's rush down you know abilities around the cast there's threats everywhere i've had about a dozen people recommend ed to me uh i don't feel like ed's your type of character but maybe i mean he's really because he's not he's not going he doesn't have command grabs or anything like that no that's what i mean yeah specifically i want somebody who's not that

because everybody i play is that ed is a frame trapper and he's uh piano he you know you're pianoing to get oh i don't like that exactly he's your frame i'd rather go back to nash or even pick up like ryu or something like that honestly like akuma is incredible yes of course akuma i used to play akuma akuma is incredible i i when i went when i first when i when a e came out i went into training mode i was like okay that's that person's v trigger that's pretty cool and then i got to akuma and i did v trigger one it was pretty good v trigger and then i got to v trigger two and i was like three meter that's uh just a free meter and uh combo into stuff that you shouldn't be able to do for and it's uh input lenient so you just do it you just do it just

free meter and marvel yeah exactly like it's it's weird because i would i you know i play i play abigail right now so i go up against the first akuma i ever fought in arcade mode in silver yeah and i'm like oh man this ah man i i throw him once whatever what's he gonna oh man he combo me to death space yeah that crouching fierce punch is the fucking bullshit i hate it uh yeah and then of course you know like they there's there's just choices all over i mean akuma is incredible uh bison is now super good yeah um urion is still there yeah and if you felt like really just uh going way out of your wheelhouse yeah the most anti you character i can think of would be like a rashid yeah no i can tell you who's even more anti me and that's manot ah yeah manot

is the only so i i was playing for sure and i went through every single character that i hadn't played with and fucked around with all their buttons except for manot i went to manot and then did her quarter circle forward punch and her her ball went out went out and stood there and i just went start that fuck that dude it's it's so stylish and satisfying when you're doing it oh i'm sure i'm sure but my brain does not work that way it just doesn't some people need bare feet in their life yeah and they'll learn apparently it's everyone but us i live in a world in which apparently everyone is into foot vor or something apparently everyone at arksis or is into fucking vor like uh uh what is it how the chart of how much i want anime girls to step on

me and then uh kill the kill comes out and it just spikes into the heavens you know but anyway um yeah man i i think um i think akuma is an old faithful you know and and his fireballs fading out means nothing because they're not they're just they're just spacing tools yeah um personally i'm i'm not really touching this much much of this season like i went in messed with nicali a little bit the fireball is incredible but um i what he is a fireball he has a little uh little burp little brah so nicali because his i'm just staring at you right now because nicali's v-trigger is so the best fucking strong there's you can't take it away from him because it's ridiculous the character doesn't exist without it so what they do is they have it identical in both in both numbers

but he gets an extra move and that move changes uh oh that's great right that so you you activate the and you you know you you light up and you go super saiyan the in both but one of them gives you you know akuma's jumping chop yes you get that basically but you can control uh how far it goes and it's it's uh really plus and uh the opposite move is he does a slow fireball disappears about like two steps in front of him yeah but it's a tiny little uh yoga catastrophe it's a tiny little uh laura fireball actually oh no yeah with a really slow startup though yeah but fuck it but it's uh yeah exactly waking up exactly you know so yes that's what he gets uh and that's because of the nature of his v-trigger he just gets that permanently the rest the round for free yes really strong

really no but you're prepping for dbz sure and blanka but more so yeah okay you just wait on yeah why the fuck can't i crush counter sakura offer fucking shoken unless it's ex because her shoken is not invincible i know but it's still weird it's not it's not invincible it has to be a real reversal for it to be crush counterable which most street fighter players like because the cc system is something that's like i really like the cc system i i enjoy what it does in the sense that like i understand why it's there it emphasizes a counter fucking hit but uh a lot of people that are street fighter veterans kind of hate it because of it's like over the topness and ability to just like open up free damage and risk reward gets skewed so basically by putting it on

only invincible uh shoryukens for example uh it's no it's now okay that makes sense yeah i'll buy that yeah it's fair you know you took this risk you got that reward because it was sakura you're not even getting like you're risking a ton but you're not if she was crush counterable offer shoken for not you'd risk infinite damage for nothing for absolutely nothing you know um so yeah but her ex is invincible and that's why it is crush counterable right uh yeah when you spend bar when you spend bar in reversals then they become true shoryukens i've been a long time away from street fighter five and i forgot like how fucking strong meaties are against everyone without like an ex dp like i i mean you say that and it and i like it takes me a second because i'm like

you know x number of push-ups or x number of you know squats or whatever it is and you just keep yourself going and whatnot and when the coach is not giving you any of those you're just like god fucking damn it this is because the end is going to be a nightmare oh yeah and then he's kind of doing a thing where it's like all right remember this number i give you four right and then everyone's like what does that mean and then you just go on and on and on and then it's like okay you got it easy you didn't get to drop and do the squats and push-ups so now we get to the end of the class and you're doing basically four minutes or four sets of plyometrics which is i don't know what the what the fuck is that jump exercises oh where your four sets and your ribs

are exploding like a chest buster yeah is inside about to come out type of thing yeah where you're basically doing um like things like they call them like there's destroyers for example right literally called destroyers you know so stand right yeah drop to push-up position drop drop okay so draw okay squat and shoot your legs out behind that's yeah right do push-up one push-up jump your legs back in stand up jump fuck that as high as possible and put your arms beneath your knees so you're jumping with your knees high knee tiny jump basically that sucks that is one that's one of how many reps that is one of the the clock is going oh it's interval it's it's with uh with a time sorry circuit rather it's you're doing you're doing that you're doing

is white on him actually but but when you put them would you put the character side by side though you really can see how far out of their way they went to make sure people don't look too much like each other goku blue and vidya blue have totally different stances right like they like they stand differently i know goku black does i don't black has a totally different color profile i don't remember pink and black i don't remember if their stance is different i think it is but i don't remember one's great same man as dlc i hope uh yeah well sure hopefully at the very least like you can rock him in the lobby yeah which is fun that that shit show over the fucking loot boxes was hilarious yeah well the you know the dbz does not have

linear story based games but aren't necessarily buying them but the quote then goes into like kind of talk about the trends in video games right now as a whole and she says uh i think we're at an infection inflection point right now obviously what happened with our star wars project didn't come out of the blue a lot of two dramatic articles are written about it the death of linear story games and all that kind of stuff but look there's a real problem this line we've been running up for a this line we've been running up to for a lot of years which is the rising cost of development and the desires or demands even of players in terms of hours of gameplay fidelity production values additional modes and all these things these those pressures end up very real internally

if it costs you say a hundred million or more to make a game how you get to make that money back and make a profit the 60 dollar price point can't change right so there's a lot of not a lot of negative press around monetization loot boxes games as a service etc but these are trending now in the industry especially for larger publishers as an answer to the problem of rising development costs budgets keep going up and the bars keep getting raised and it starts making less and less sense to make these games this is there's also a trend now that as much as people will protest and say why are you canceling a linear story based game this is the kind of game we want people aren't necessarily buying them they're watching somebody else play them online so this

is the kind of thing that if i want to be real content about it i could just i could just tersely and dismissively say citation needed sure um but i will go into that more so i completely understand where amy hennig is coming on this she has worked on these types of games for a long long long fucking time legacy of kane would have been fucking ruined by today's uh standard standard of youtube and twitch coverage right because a lot of those games are bad except for the awesome story however the big the big point here is one budgets keep rising we got to do something and um people are just playing and watching story based games online citation needed on that bold sentence at the end so the first one budgets keep rising like nobody

doesn't exist i think there there is absolutely a segment of the market that just goes oh it's the shiniest newest niceest looking thing i think the amount of people that buy games that would just appreciate a good game whether or not it was bleeding edge is dramatically understated pubg looks like shit the mobas look like fucking trash and they're the most popular games in the world look at undertale or stardew valley or any of these fucking indie games that go on sell way more than they're supposed to be able to and they're made dirt cheap in a lot of cases like ea spent so much money making the battlefront assets so good but then they got to make the microtransactions to make the money back because there was a money it was like well why didn't

the little the robot it's that's not it but it's a different one but because it's it's four vertical lines uh with the robot it's it's earlier than this okay but uh yeah the mom takes the the fucking robot back off and you see as the kid punches like you see one two three four because there's the four controls essentially um and the genius is that the robot also has that on its back so like it sinks up okay i'm gonna try to find what you're talking about it's it's super cool because i didn't i don't maybe it's in a longer trailer maybe there's this fucking fucking uh yeah probably later i don't fucking know yeah but i'm like how does that cannot put it later put just put it like two minutes and just fucking let it roll while we
