and I just, this whole group of either Nevadans or people from all over the states or the world but it's like mostly people that are probably on the west coast and I'm like, all right, here we go. So, if you know Max's not too sleepy, you know, like, because when you're on the canon time zone, the time zone that Jesus lived in and this entire crowd, boo. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, and yeah, you get the proper like, like, you know, the, um, the indignation cell of like, like it's the microphone cell that you get from in the ring. Yeah. And time zones is good at that. Time zones is like, no, they're just like a concept. It's just like, they're not real. They're not real. It's just something to make us all work better together in harmony. We lived. And I'm like, ours is better.

You ever seen a map of the time zones and how fucking weird they get around certain lines? Once upon a time we lived on a planet that was all one shape and color and size and everything was all great. And it was one big time zone. And then everyone, then they started dividing the, and putting these lines on the maps to go, nah, we need everybody in their own time zones. Tell you what, dude. Yeah. Back in the day, pre time zone, you know what was missing?

Humans. Without humans, there'd be no time zone and no disparity. There you go. Dinosaurs don't know nothing about no time zones. Animals have like, oh, it's daytime, oh, it's nighttime. I don't care about what happens in the middle. And there's those stupid animals that live in total darkness and they don't know shit about fuck. Yeah.

Use human constructs to upset humans. This is the way of things. Is that the nature of trolling? This is absolutely the nature of trolling. Because if you really weren't using human constructs to upset people, the only other things that could upset people are like taking away their ability to survive. If you're not stealing someone's food, denying their ability to breathe air. Your children are starving.

Yeah.

And he's like. What's happening? He grew his hair out a little and he's got a white T on. He is trying to be as no. And he entered as somebody else. Something else completely. Yeah. I think Hitomi Tanaka's was his name.

No that was someone else. That was someone else. But yeah man Mike Ross came in to play his game. Guilty Gear. And he played it. Really? Yeah and he happened to end up on stream so he played that match. And then he got up and he pieced.

How do you do? I don't know. No wonder he quit eSports. If he got up and he pieced then you know. I think he did alright. But then he left and he was like I'm out yeah. He came to play and you know. I thought you hated eSports Mike Ross.

We're going to talk about it more later too. Yeah. All the character. I certainly hope you guys are okay with that because I'm very excited to talk about a lot of the fighting game things that happened in general and to me and in life overall. Because this was the week for that. So yeah. This is a good evil.

Evil cast. It's always a good evil when there's controversy. And there were many. Hey. Hey. You know the funny thing about whatever controversy hits and it happens pretty much it's happened every couple of years like I've been there has been that you're on the tournament floor and doing your own thing and having your own experience.

So you generally might not catch any wind of things that go down and people blowing up online and going like oh my God can you believe it. And I'm like I'm just here. That's over there. I was at this setup playing and having like I don't know what's going on. You know like you don't catch events too large to see all of it at once. It is. And the only thing that like the internet is what's required to get it all like sourced

together because when you're there you're still just having a personal experience and mine was a really good time. Telling me you had fun at the fighting game thing. Well I mean I mean like so there's a million like little things to discuss. You were not in the controversy. Maybe next year. But they're like they're like there was one there was one controversy that I that I that popped up and then there's so many more non controversies and just awesome shit to talk

about. Would you say they can we call those non traverses. There's non traverses. There's controversy. There's a so happy with this. There's a single controversy and then there is two non traverses. Okay. I'm parsing in my head which one you.

Yeah. There's a there's a couple. So I'm which I'm only aware of two. I'm only aware of two as well. Then what which one should we talk about those first and then get into the other. Absolutely. Okay. Because it's the hot button topics.

Yeah. One. So I say the I say the the two that come to mind. Let's start with the fake or the not big a deal. Yeah. It's the Sonic Fox one. I find that I've been hassled a lot about that. Yesterday when I streamed Street Fighter over and over and over.

What are your thoughts on the Sonic Fox side switch Matt? What are your thoughts on the Sonic Fox? Well to just to just you know sort of I guess introduce the thing. So I'm at Evo a Dragon Ball fighters the grand finals. It was a Sonic Fox versus Koichi and you know as the two best players on the planet like they played it out and effectively Sonic Fox after a set decided to ask to switch sides if possible from player two to player one. Yeah.

And there's that's there's nothing in the rules that's against making a side switch. So you want to do it and they go no and you do a coin flip. And he did it and then he saw and then they switched sides and then he did it. Playing fighting games as a kid people would ask that like oh I don't want to start on that side. Give me the first player control. And after it's in the previous game Goichi had won and then Sonic Fox went after the side switch Sonic Fox went on to win that one to then win conclusively as well.

To then win the tournament. Yeah. And so that's so that they're they're following that comes like a lot of hilarious memes where it's like every other player is a tier. Then S tier is Sonic Fox S S S is Goichi but then triple S is Sonic Fox mirrored on the other side. Right. Just the same image flipped over and you know all that other stuff.

I mean personally I like not only do I not see that as an issue. It's something where it's like people go back to the character select screen sometimes just to waste time. Yeah. Right. Just to stop just sometimes they do it to get back their own like thought process. Sometimes they do it to break your heat. Yeah.

Right. So when it was going on it was to I was watching with a bunch of people and it was pretty much decided upon by it was like it looks like he's stalling for time. Right. But if you want to stall for time you can just fucking stall for time stall for time on the character select. He wouldn't have to do the the side switch. Looks like he genuinely wanted a side switch.

The only reason it looks like he intentionally blew 10 minutes is because for some reason the To's took forever. Yes. Decide. Yes. What to do because it was unprecedented in terms of that because that hadn't happened on the main stage in that way process should have taken 45 seconds because it's there's a coin flip involved.

Because quite simply like yeah things are things at that point are so like set in like making sure there's no possible you know error type thing that they're really paranoid so they have to double check and triple check every decision to make sure nothing's going to happen that'll cause a real controversy later. Yeah. And so that extra level of bureaucracy that comes from trying to make sure nothing weird happens here or like you know no no weird stick like anything you know we plugged the stick back in but it wasn't plugged in all the way he didn't plug it in himself.

It didn't work. Yeah. It cost the grant you know any bullshit. So that level of thing costs some time and so it creates this gap and then like a lot of folks who are at home kind of not fully understanding the situation going oh he stole from time he cheated he didn't go eat you would have won if he had kept his heat. And I think that's like Sonic Fox said it himself the best which is like to think that the side switch is all it takes to win or lose against the player of that caliber is

incredibly disrespectful to Goichi as a fucking beast of a player as he is trivializing it down to that shows how little you understand what was happening. Maybe Goichi lost a little momentum but like never forget that like Goichi and Sonic Fox got to winners finals and Sonic was the one who sent him to losers bracket. Yeah. It's yeah. I mean look there's it's not like Goichi asked while I would prefer it a Sonic Fox war his furry mask while playing and then he goes no I don't want to do that and then the all

the attorney organizers go there's nothing in the rules that says so a coin flip or gonna have to do it or like someone's at a home team game and then the away team the away team decides to switch their jerseys to their home team versions and then results change and then you're like why no quite frankly and here's the funny part to be perfectly honest I most depending a lot of the time it depends on the game but I usually go for the second player. Same here. I prefer it.

I don't know why. I know why and I'll tell you why. What is the reason you prefer it. Well it's the reason why many players prefer it. It's the same. You we all share the same thing quite simply execution is more consistent rolling forward than it is rolling back on the player two side when you need to when you need to confirm certain things like supers and whatnot.

It's like you should be practiced up to the point where it shouldn't be you shouldn't be dropping shit right. But as a basic level principle thing doing a super on player one side of rolling from down to forward your wrist rolling in that direction versus rolling backwards you tend to just roll easier going out the other way. It just happens more often you know it's just I don't it's a really weird minor thing but it happens to be the case and I noticed that I'm yeah I'm not the only one who notices that when I go into training mode and go OK when I do happen to whiff a super or something

I whiff a moment I tend to whiff it more on this side than that side and it turns out yeah that's an FGC white thing so people tend to do that. Corey gaming did a really good video on this specific thing of player one versus player two side and why for 2D fighters. Right man but for Tekken and for virtual fighter it fucks people up to place two player because the tracking on 3D movement and the side stepping directions exactly and there are coin flips before also every fucking big man also reacting to you back in like it doesn't matter as much in this new Tekken but in the older Tekken you got to react to the throws where certain

hands would go up so the left hand goes up you're taking left right hand goes up you're taking right both hands there's both buttons you know so you have to have that stuff as well and this does apply to pad it's not just a stick thing it totally applies to pad as well you know I prefer facing right on pad and I prefer facing left on stick I always prefer facing right on either I don't know so you know and I mean in some cases like feel safe yeah well either way like you'll probably notice if you ever jumped into training mode and tried doing a bread and butter over and over and over and over again right like and 100% of the time on one and 99% of the time on the other I mean just I'll do it until you get some drops and then see where more

than most of the drops are happening and they'll never play on that side well no it's not that it's just like extrapolate that number that you just did in this little experiment take that and multiply that training mode thing by a thousand for someone who plays every week to grind to get at a game to get good and then you'll kind of eventually start to see oh yeah it happens there happens to be a more consistent side for me you know it's it's a natural thing I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of the folks yelling that sonic fox is cheated are mad that that's a black gay furry one evo like definitively I mean that's a better fucking fursuit doing the gohan post no that's a better story but it's not the truth of the matter I think

oh I saw a lot of people mad than a furry one evo I saw a lot oh yeah sure but I think when anyone ever wins or whatever and there's like just a minor thing like this people always put it under a microscope way more than they should well no you'll just if the results weren't what you wanted then you'll try to find any reasons to discredit it but again it's the same way it's the it's the same thing as like anyone like anyone in a chat stream calling someone on grand finals ass for dropping a combo it's like that do got to grand finals you're calling him ass you sitting at home like it's a whole thing that's like yeah it's kind of part of it you're you know what I mean like you're rooting for your side so it comes with the territory I had this fucking

but I like acknowledge it for being light it's not it's just not a real controversy that's fucking mental delirium that doesn't exist of like daigo and to keto and all the sf5 guys hanging out with sonic fox and him going hey I heard street fighter five's good is it good never mind there's no games trash you shouldn't play it don't play it it's garbage you wouldn't like it son he wins everything he wins everything he's he's absolutely the new justin wong um back in the day that's what it meant basically one's like you know as justin entered everything when justin was just like absolutely cleaning up back in the the pre-o nine it was grabbing marvel he was everything everything he touched everything yeah third strike sd with cvs2 like it was just

like domination you know and um yeah this is this like anyone who's been paying attention to sonic fox is kind of seeing like this is what it was like you know and I mean goichi is that as well like he's been an anime god you know in japan for years too so like both of these players are just kind of like using their consecutive experience and all other types of fighting games and the difference between an anime fighter between uh or like it was sonic fox a difference between nether realm games skull girls it's not like you couldn't get further across from each other in terms of fighting games it's it's yeah so you know god damn that dude is is a beast um quite literally actually raw but that's yeah that's that's that's the what that's the first one that's the

nontroversy that's totally an controversy but people are like people are very we're gonna see that forever now yeah and then the um and the other one was the uh the smash four grand finals which um i i missed okay right i missed this uh and i only caught it after i got back oh and um the only real thing i i the what i caught was an explanation video that um um omni made basically on he made a late omni video basically explaining what happened with the bayonetta drama at evil 2018 smash four grand finals and what essentially the short version of it that he describes in uh the video that i'm using as my point of reference because um if there's more to the story i spoke to some people so if i have anything yeah isn't in there well i mean to you

know to describe it like uh uh going going based on like what was reported in this video like more or less two bayonetta players made it to grand finals and the smash four community hates bayonetta so um a lot like crazy like i did not know about this before so this happened so uh you know that well i mean that it's been very like it's been quite loud about like how much bayonetta there there's been but in any case so there was a kind of like a feeling of like man like fuck this grand finals people were leaving the the event center as soon as it sort of happened and stuff and yeah they were getting booed they're also they also booed the um the smash ultimate announcement because it was a date for the smash direct as opposed to actual information oh no i have to wait

a week um and so in this grand finals effectively after uh having a set these two play the two bayonetta players in grand finals are really good friends and they uh and to the point where someone uh accidentally uh someone accidentally lost a stock i think this fell off the fucking yeah but someone fell off the edge and lost a stock but like pure technical and so and in and in like even though this is grand finals at evo they still use like home rules and basically like gave them a homie stock which is like oh you died unfairly i didn't beat you i'll i'll kill myself too that's and even up the stock right that's what you do sometimes with playing casuals but in basement king oh excuse me friendlies yeah but uh yeah it was to that level but anyway after the the set

went out and everyone was and after they're getting booed and whatnot there's a moment after the first game uh where the players kind of talked to each other about what's going on and just kind of said you know what like well these fuckers right these fuck haters they kind of just collectively said you know be hilarious fuck the haters let's do some shit and then the next game started and once it did both bayos just basically started charging their shots and held them there and decided to just not play and they said fuck it let's troll evo right you guys hate bayo fuck you right um they kept it going and like the so the the thought was going to be like okay is this actually going to run the entire time around like what there's no rules to stop that

about a minute later the the the judges come on stage and go no you guys have to play you can't do this i can't play yeah it was also saccharized birthday um and it was one of these moments where it was basically just like this this makes everything looks like shit oh yeah for smash this is a really bad look because the players are doing this and you know what if they decided to taunt and troll in the beginning and do a little goofy thing and then play i think it would have like i kind of expected that to happen but the fact that they decided to keep it going for over a minute met like oh no they were actually planning to run the clock out and just be like ridiculous about is over the top it's a stupid thing to do it's a really dumb thing to do especially like at a

major thing like this but they're doing it in response to like getting like treated like shit in the community as well so yeah that's the part that i want to fill in a slight detail is they're on stage and they're getting booed because they're picks and people are yelling at them apparently those booze followed them the whole tournament even from pools as soon as they would pick bayonetta yeah people around them would just start shitting all over well that's because that's what it is and like in that context i can understand getting the grand finals and hearing more booze and going i'm in grand final and this happened this happens in other game this happens in other games so to like not to this degree but like there's definitely like levels of like

you know play coming into like blah let me just switch trains menna won capcom cup with birdie in what people consider like illegitimate play because it was so just like grinding the game out you know it was just like oh my god this birdie is just doing bullshit and it's working and that was hilarious and you when you told me about that birdie player i'm like yeah right and and to the point where like oh yeah well the second part of that story is that like he picked his his costumes i didn't throw that in the docket because there's so much of his shit to get it to but he picked the new the new costume so remember the awesome samurai nikali that was the first year capcom cup because the winners get to pick their own so yeah that was like a kazanoko i believe and then the

next year knuckle do wanted with guile and he gave guile the um the he gave him the the outfit with like the skull mouth and then the full like trooper uh military uniform uh and then menna gave uh birdie this year he just dressed him up like himself and birdie just he looks awful and it's just him as birdie and just to pause the story we're gonna go on a little tangent um but totally worth it but it's worth it because um when i saw the costume i was like yeah yeah yes uh let me see here uh costume the this because this is like the equivalent of what it's like with bayonetta in the um in smash the new outfit they gave yeah so it's just him dressing birdie up as himself and putting the capcom cup trophy on the end of the chain awful and that's literally all they did

and like they even have the haircut so that he has menna's hair traditional traditional haircut he's just wearing like fucking khakis and like a white he's wearing the shit that menna wore right and it's the ultimate leading into being the villain because people hate the way you play yeah it's the worst and he's it's leading into it it's like give me all your hate says menna um so anyway that type of thing happens in other games and then in the bayonetta case it's been nothing for a while that we've heard about for sure that you know you go into evo and like the further you get into your pools the more people are crowding around to watch you fight other people and then bayo just keeps making it up there so yeah they've definitely been like well this is shitty

and and whatever but they're used to it because if you continue to play bayo in wind tournaments playing bayo in this type of type of environment then like you're a hundred percent embracing the villain role because this is so typical of smash where it's like now this is getting so granular and so like actually shitty where it's like you know the final destination fox only blah blah blah and this is like the ultimate form of that so it's like no you cannot play a character that might have some pretty good combos now well here's the problem though here's what what sucks is that like good things that happen in smash in the smash community will get overstated by shittie moments like this right because equal this weekend levin who who won this and decided that the plot

the because the pot payouts for um um um in melee that is the pot payouts are so garbage for anyone who's not in top three uh decided to share some of his winnings with fifth through seventh place right to split it up because basically they won like a hundred and thirty dollars that's nice right and it's like the the the pot splitting of uh i believe 60 20 and then the 20 gets split amongst five people is garbage now i will have to say that part of the reason why that gets overshadowed is that levin deserves the credit for that not the smash community the smash community screaming booze and shit at these guys for like a three-day weekend that's totally on the smash community so so it would have to be because that's hundreds or thousands of people it would have to

be the crowd like the smash community crowd being like split the pot yeah that's the only way that and and the and this that story gets even more complicated to double tangent in the middle of this main one but that the the pot split thing like when they've done that in the past it's resulted in people going oh man top uh first place gets nothing this shit sucks right wow what a bad idea and like there's literally been complaints the other way where they're like well we made it more even for the rest of the top eight and there were complaints that like the top players weren't getting enough of a payout based on that so it's one of those things where it's like the real way to make everyone happy would be for there to be more pot bonuses oh i thought you were going to

say like stop fighting games would be there to be more pot bonuses that come from um sponsors and such but like when you don't have those you just you can't always you know bank on someone be having a corporate interest in it so you have to go on the split and the split is a it's a troublesome thing to kind of figure out when you're getting boot on both sides either way in this case though this is an awful look it may it made the smash well i'll may i'll make the distinction fine i made the smash for community look really dumb and yeah but if melee had a character like her it would also be well that's the best thing about melee there's never any new characters that's true why would you ever want any new characters melee it's just perfect so i i didn't know you're gonna bring this

up i was gonna i thought maybe it was one of the most smaller things but i saw a lot of people make big stink about um problem x not getting to say anything once he won street fighter five whereas all the street fighter five champions of oh i didn't notice that he didn't give him some people were like well what the fuck why does he not get to talk okay well because it was like two in the morning uh well that's what people like well because it's lame they're like really 30 seconds would have made it yeah yeah okay i didn't i didn't catch that at all because um to be perfectly honest like we were so last i left during finals yeah i mean yes and you know and i and i honestly i realized too well i was gonna get into that a little later like i realized that like um you know

you it's a lot to ask someone to sit in an event center for four hours watching high level play it's it's you know like you're either engaged and excited by that or you're not and there are no equivalents to this the excitement of new announcements for characters is always a really fun pop in between but the rest of the event is something that i realized that maybe i'm just like oh man it's the best and it's like oh wait it's not for everybody i'm like oh i kind of forget that sometimes so it's totally what time did the first top eight start so uh seven a.m was when the doors opened eight a.m is when uh i i want to say melee started or be right or either that or BB tank that's assuming you care a lot about many different fighting games that's a lot it is a lot

on one day to ask last year when i went i went for street fighter and it was the the simple four hours at the end and it was by the end i was like oh that was a run oh boy coming in now to catch the end of tech end all of dragon ball and then immediately all of street fighter is a 10 hour day because dragon ball is really long to watch yeah dragon ball went long well i mean tech and went like everything started on a delay i did not catch the tecan finals apparently they're fucking incredible yeah they were but but i mean like that's that is that is more or less just taken for you what you what you did catch i'm sure is the fucking uh announcement that followed yeah you know so there's like it's one of those things where it's like we can so i mean like we

could just go blast through this but i also would like to talk about actual evo and a personal i'm sure you would too because you know so like we can't we can't just get straight into all that but uh yeah it is a lot to ask to be the point is to be sitting in that arena for the four hour the two hours of the four hours of the next four hour block and then so by the end when you know um they fucking what they crowned problem x i was like cool i got a role you know and so we got and not to mention there was a really um there's a twitch after party happening uh that i want to stick my head and say hi to some people before even hitting bad even though i was exhausted so i did that so like we didn't stick around to see it but

was there no interview afterwards at all that's a bummer that's probably that could be because yeah it could be because they were an hour late and they were deciding to rush things i don't know any actual details like maybe they said hey do you want to say something and he was like no i haven't seen what problem x is like if he has a reaction to this at all but i just remember seeing people like the last three evo i guess people are just tweeting about it perhaps yeah that's all i saw like i don't know if people like end the arena at the time or like cognitive of i i will say that it looked like after the the award ceremony they didn't have yeah they definitely didn't have the same sort of like extended moment they did last time and it again

it feels like it's because they were an hour over yeah you know but if you're an hour over you're streaming it's not like it's you're on abc and you're doing like the academy awards and there's actual like repercussions espn sorry okay that espn i forgot about that is you're on tv but like there's the feed for espn just cut off like you can basically go as long as you want the events are okay cause like they can't they were the other controversy is like you're all free now didn't show up until way later than it should have everyone's shouting where is you now yeah we're pissed for a bit no one was free you mentioned that there was a real controversy were they not on espn this year oh yeah they weren't oh oh yeah my mistake i thought there were okay

um i it was weird because like i remember uh we were asking what about espn too because we because we're asking because i was i was talking to some of the people that were doing commentary and we were like going like is it happening and some people said yes and then others said no and these were people in the know so i guess it was unclear i but if it didn't happen to my mistake i thought there was either way though i feel that um yeah it wouldn't take that long to just give them a second you know but maybe he said no there's there's no way to really know problem x one of the players that is the giving interviews all the time about how street fighter five sucks probably not no okay because i do know there are a few players like that and if that was the case

i could understand they would like be like no no don't i think don't want the champ talking shit but you can't but you can't roll he can't actually do that i like that guy that made a way out that likes to get himself over and like screamed stupid bullshit yeah it's not like a fighting game player is going to do that because that oh he has him he has he has in the past he has criticized the game in the past okay so i mean but i don't think that's grounds to that i don't think you'll take the time to shit on the game you just want on the grand finals dude that'd be the shittest it would be what i'm what i'm saying is i don't think they would officially go like this player should not be allowed to get the microphone he's reaching in his despite the fact that he's he's pulling out a

sheet of paper on the back it says fuck sf5 he's got a statement he's got a manifesto yeah first things first you have to do even more things that they can't stop like writes ss5 sucks in the back of your head and then just turn i want him to go i love ss5 but now i want him to go on a fucking tangent about how the game is trash and he would know because he's the best um so that so that too is kind of a point that like um i guess is not um i yeah i i don't know we don't know enough about what rolled out afterwards but everyone was kind of tired and running out of the arena at that point maybe if that had happened at 730 because the the game with the most signups would have been last it would have he would have had his moment right maybe i don't know that's the that's the

weird one to me to be honest and this is my personal like thing it's not even really like dbz controversy but the game with the most signups absolutely should have deserved that that final spot well it depends who paid the cannons more yeah mr wizard more or less came out and went signups has never been an indicator of the of the schedule neither has this game is too new it's and you know what like changing the rules as we go well look but like between that between the bb tag thing between the skull girls thing i keep bringing up i just don't have a lot of faith in like you know that thing being like signups and what people want to play and all that being a direct representation of like what the community wants to see there's a lot of stuff going on that makes

me go like a favorite choosies best buddies the audio knows better than you right like a signup indicator why is there no marvel what is the indicator then is it stream numbers like no because that wasn't the indicator either for marvel because i couldn't fucking get a listen i'll shut up and fit it all day but i can guarantee you i'll i will make a one million dollar bet right now that at the time of the decision to cut marvel it had better stream numbers than blaze blue cross tag battle yeah yeah because it wasn't out and there was a and there was a marvel side tournament and a lot of people were in it like i was with timo the whole weekend like he was you know like that that tournament happened like but um you know how many people roughly i don't know

the number no but but uh yeah no it's really just that it's like that that's a weird thing that um feels like it's not about numbers it's not about any it's not about anything that can be uh i guess quantifiable yeah to the outside the answer is because we want it they are qualitative judgments made by the people who run i think this game is hype i don't like that game i think this game will do well this will do work you know that's it like like outside as a spectator we don't you can't there's nothing to look at and go hey this makes sense and is like no that's not the choice the choice is based on their personal preference there should be more upfront about like bad then no that mr wizard is kind of like more or less implying that with what he's not saying right

like most of his moveset but i see max and and they've been playing soul caliber six for like hours now i think yet the day before too and uh i'm watching them play for a bit and i'm just like or the buns again like for the the special shit max is like this is your parry thing and that's your super i'm like right okay and then eventually they're like do you want to play i'm like they're like do you want to play i'm like okay fine i take killik i'm like oh i'm gonna be embarrassing but i beat simmons two matches in a row and i was super happy with that but then where i'm we're talking about the game and i'm just like this is just almost mortal combat xy where i'm like your super is right is this this button and there you go and your parry cool

your defense thing is this button and there's all their stuff too but i'm just like this is probably gonna do super well it was never like an execution crazy series like i know but it's just like i don't i was five even no i had some weird stuff five hidey x's five had supers okay but they they they weren't tough to do they weren't tough to do but um i remember four had all that stupid armor break shit and then you can only do the super then and that was so you never ever saw it i i mean i reiterate that five was a good game that had five is a good that had a cast that people didn't like and uh that the shitty kids the shit kids kind of overshadows the the game place like improvements that happened it sucks this little bunch of the new characters are fine to good but

the two primary ones are huge losers compared to yes because i i want well it's more like the four right i want there to be because it's the it's the patrocolo's it's his sister they're the worst it's the it's the monkey kid and then it's the tiki the tiki the tacky replacement yeah tacky replacement didn't bother me not and i super bothered and i and i'll be real i forgot that but that's based on monkey kid existed but that but the tacky replacement is coming from a place of yeah that's a titty ninja but i wanted tacky my titty and i wanted my titty ninja exactly and so that that whole thing um it was not the mortal combat kids it was not you know and so that's yeah it was like it was a stuff well it's because they weren't the game there's they were replacements

but the shit the gameplay stuff they did was fucking rad and i really dug that i really liked exes and we're we're joking that they should announce a new guest character and there's a trailer the name co bandai and it says guest character and then like a portal opens up and just patrocolas just oh it's out yeah like what no i'm from a different time a different split timeline yeah so so uh yeah well so max and and yo video games guys and everybody kenny knows word streaming for gaiko and they had three hours of soul caliber to stream yeah so it was a lot of time to to get going you know so you played yeah yes exactly so this is the first time playing it yes i had touched it before this i was walking by because right next to that booth

was the macadamia setups yeah and i was going to get my game in on that to try it out gonna get your green arrow on and while i walked by i was like oh shit they're like come on over you know so they exactly same thing wave this down onto the couch and i sat there and played with them for a bit and we had a good time um and we're speculating on like the possibility of guest characters and what's going on and whatnot yeah and so on you know we did he came up um the correct answer was always blood-borne hunter um but you know and then like even and then they're like oh but what about like tubito you know and something like what wacky like that uh and then listen willy i don't listen namco doesn't do wacky out of context guest character exactly we have to keep it saying y'all

okay um so then tasty steve came over and like so we started going into that and then we all like kind of collectively realized that hey this game has an armor breaking mechanic between rounds to be also has an armor breaking mechanic that would be a really interesting fit um but yeah man soul caliber six definitely uh feels very much like soul caliber two oh that's oh yeah um the and the uh yeah that's the best thing you could have said i don't know the nightmare is definitely the three and beyond though like max has summed it up for everybody well because secret is also in the game secret is also in the game and yeah nightmare is nightmare is definitely like new nightmare for sure but no the overall vibe and feeling is that that that absolute soul

caliber two feeling and um that new mechanic is yeah it feels like one that's not it's it's very much like abused at low level and then not even high level like mid level play you know mashing will bring will beat it out like the new parry system thing it's like if you just try like like there's so many situations where it's like oh i'm gonna try it now i'm losing and it's like no that's not going to save you you know or i'm gonna try to get a super out now no that's not going to save you like you have to be kind of smart about it in the same way you do in Tekken when they brought supers out right so Tekken supers they don't have invincibility they have super armor if you don't have that life to take it it's not going to work out you're just gonna

tie similar things happening in here with these mechanics as well um so shiny flashy over the top though you know just like spark levels have never been more when people go in for the clash like it's sigils and 3d it's sigils it oh that's good that's pretty good um but yeah i really enjoyed playing that again like that's kind of like when i played it at uh pax east i was playing on an empty setup with no one so i was playing against like the ai and i was like yeah that's fun it's good but like playing against another person was like oh shit so um aside from that just shout outs to frenchie jess uh lee and crooked glasses for hanging out they're really fun you mean trash fire yeah that's that's like saying the switcher though let's get it right let's say

man exit bunch right so last night well a couple hours ago for whatever time frame it was for me i'm on the plane back over here and i'm like oh god i gotta like i can't fall asleep whatever i'm uncomfortable i'll i'll play some more mega man x and i beat x4 during this this time frame and i'm like all right all right i beat that boss all right okay here it comes and the cut scene starts and zero is holy niris and then just i'm like the waitress comes hey sir do you need anything i just went like just kept looking yeah like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah wait they didn't want something but i was like i had i had that exact moment shut up yes in a completely different way okay yeah i was like i was also playing mega man x4 on a plane but uh yeah i played that like

this is the first time i played it to completion and i'm like yeah wait that's the first time you played x4 to completion yeah wow i never owned a playstation that's your first like i played it before that's your first personal iris yes and what am i fighting for and no one no one ever brings that up but the way he laughs when he's got the pipe in his hand dude yeah and he's beating down he's going yeah that fucking cut scenes are just grunts okay it's bad it's bad but but zero's voice breaking all over itself with funny what was this voice actor like going through puberty at the time and fucking sigma's voice after watching the day of sigma the anime yeah he sounds totally fine yeah and in this or like he sounds great i feel like day of sigma was made like 10 years later

it's way longer than that after due i'd say even okay because but yeah just in terms of we're gonna cast this voice not like the performance itself that was i mean fuck dude that was back in the days of wowie you know like stop him immediately they didn't realize that you could make things good yet but uh you know i enjoyed the game but i'm like and i still prefer like the other x games i still like how zero gets his ability the thing i said this last time i'm like oh it's cool i just can double jump now because i beat a boss which is at least a nice change to the x formula but yeah i there's other stuff so whatever that's good what were you shook by double the reveal doubler the fucking little yellow guy am i is that the my thing x4 the little yellow guy that's

your buddy and then he turns into a boss at the end and you have to fight him is that x4 does it win in zero's campaign because i don't remember that i forget or is it double just it's the little the little fat yellow guy he's your buddy the whole game of the character and then it turns out he's a piece of shit and you gotta fight him no is not only in one person's campaign no he can he death because i only dealt with iris did you play zero yeah you didn't play x oh then he wouldn't because i never played a zero before oh yeah doubles for excellent the last couple of times i ever touched x4 i always took megaman i have good uh oh so you never played as x and x4 no oh why would you well then never

mind because i wanted to try at zero okay i also picked zero the first time i played x4 now i might go back and play it yeah it's it's megaman x4 it's it's a good old game from the playstation one era uh all right well anyway yep so i've i've been defeated oh okay cool um what did you do what i no i wanted to tag with what you said happened to you with the switch because yeah because for me i was on the plane and i just uh i just finished hollow night congrats little golf claps um yeah and so like now that it's done it's what's it's funny because like you walk into the final area like where it's like once there's a thing that happens

at some point where it pretty much goes you're now allowed to be lined towards the end if you want you're like awesome so let's do that and if anything's on it happens across my path on the way then sure but you can pretty much do it so yeah uh and in the process of be lining towards the end but like you kind of walk into that sort of final area and like the last thing it's really smartly done because like one of the last things you unlock um is not like not as a spoiler or anything it's just helpful is like the ability to pause and see what percentage you've completed oh it's just right there so you can now actually make a decision on whether or not you want to turn around and deal with this final challenge later or not which is a really smart way to do it um

that was really well set up um and it's and it's and it's uh it's done in the form of like the knowledge of the world is brought to the character it's very cool so you go in and uh yeah I finished it off and I've pretty much um it was one of those things I walked in had a nice huge cinematic final boss moment crushed it without thinking and then went this was definitely meant to be something you can do even well before now yeah and looking back I definitely was playing into dlc at the same time it was just in the world so that you know I didn't know until the end but then it was going back and reading and going and seeing what was let's go back and check and find out like this was dlc this was dlc so the way it works is it's weird but it's like on the um

on the uh dlc like menu okay there's a dlc menu on the on the main menu you go to it and it shows you a poster for each pack and the pack just has a list of bullet points of things the dlc added but it's not telling you what or where they are how you know what I mean it's just saying these things were added with the dlc pack so basically the dlc it doesn't add it it doesn't feel like it adds um a zone to the game where you walk to this door and that like in some cases I it's definitely like bosses and things like that but there's stuff that is just now updated in the world alongside the dlc packs type of thing so um yeah I guess I I guess I went and did that and from my understanding from what it looks like is there's definitely a true ending to go back to

yeah I heard about that way back said you got to feed four optional bosses which changes the final one so um do you still have access to it like is it the kind of thing yes your game just ends or is it you still have the ability to go out and fill your map yeah I I definitely I definitely have the ability to go back and fill my map out and um I think uh based on where I'm at because I definitely while I did I went and fought a lot of harder optional bosses before taking out this final one so it's possible you only have one that you missed right the problem is of course is that in playing it well you know what now that it's done I guess I don't mind looking things up a little bit to find out what I missed but um the the process of like just sort of finding it in

ways and whatnot I scraped up against the walls in certain areas a lot of times because I really like there's a place where like I didn't find a little switch that was kind of in a corner somewhere that unlocks a gate that leads to a whole new zone and stuff like that um so yeah I'd have to like looking at the map I don't see a lot of places left towards like there's a little hole for a place you haven't been or something like most of it feels like I've like cleared a lot of these rooms out but um to find tooth comit I think uh I'd rather probably just go look up and see kind of yeah so I'll probably do that afterwards but I because I want to continue on with Octopath I'm going to put that down for now and then you know come back and see what's up unless it's like

like unless it's one of those like no you really like it's not like a true ending it's like the actual ending or something in which case it's like well then I'm not done but we will see you I have to kind of find out a bit more but it was a really nice um experience I've had because I don't think there's been any game recently at all based on the time we live in that I've played without there being any outside things coming in right not just because of the like internet existing while we play these games but also because of us in particular having lots of people talking to us about these things while we play them I can't remember the last thing I've really completely played in a vacuum a way out I guess yeah would have to have been it but I mean we

but we already created that situation we created that situation and we knew what it was going to be going in based on the words coming in about it whereas Hollow Knight was like very very much just no it's good play it that's it so it's a satisfying thing to like you know scrape your way through it and um I'm happy that the tiredness I was feeling was based on playing extra content that came in and not like the intended critical path because that means that the intended critical path is totally fine and that the extras are I guess they were meant for you to do after the game had been on the shelf for a couple months but there's no way to really know per se now it's just a bigger game now it's just a bigger game wait did you download them or like they were just

there when I bought the game it was there depending on what version you're gonna buy I assume it just comes with it yeah well they all they're all called free DLC pack yeah right so um anyway so yeah that's what happened with that and as I was getting that final cut scene yeah I was gonna ask so what's the so are you kill the boss and then like animation starts playing and I'm watching it and it's like would you like any drinks and it's like same literally same thing you know I was just like I water you know like just like not now like I'm not to be rude but fuck like mom I can't pause it it's a cut scene and and it's one of the few in the 30 fucking seven hours did both of you forget that you can just hit the power button on your switch yes instantly pause it no I didn't but I

didn't know if that would based on the way compliance works sometimes cause it to auto skip or cause it to actually pause or cause not every game let's you pressing start doesn't always pause a cut scene how many games does it skip it yeah but that's not pause let's sleep yeah but it might not suspend it there's been games where also remember we were both excited at the time literally game literally there's games where mid fmv it will skip the fmv and then you come back to the suspended state of the game paused right because it pauses the gameplay the fmv is like more or less a layer playing above that so I don't know and I'm not going to take the chance it's been 38 hours in the making and you never did pre-start on a switch

so you're not exactly sure about how why take the guess you know just shout water at some waitress instead um yeah that happened and then I guess outside of that then yes evo so there was the bible study there was max's panel which was fun like sitting in on and um sorry sorry who you mean Guinness book world record holder max a million that's true that's true he is now in the Guinness book for the youtube channel dedicated dedicated to fighting games with the most subscribers yes and um the yeah and then a proposal happened right right in the middle of that so that was nuts um that was an eventful panel that was that was some fun stuff there was the um the actual tournament which uh the curse continues in which I but it's not even a curse at this point I'm

going to say because it is a curse when I try but when I don't try and I net the same results I'm impressed that I got the same results I don't know man curse implies some kind of external external malevolent force yeah like umbrella it's the feeling that it's the feeling that I will always get to the end of my pool but not make it out and even when they go all right we're moving it so that three people get out I will get forth you know but I'm not and it seems oh this was known as the micros curse but it's also one of kind of like getting out of pools like requires you to just be that cut you know um you're holding on to the handrail that leads you out of the pool but then like three other people jump on you and like spring out of the pool I feel like yeah so I

guess I'm like I'm you know decent enough to like not lose to like swim for a while randomness but at the same time there's never but like to beat like really strong players like f word who sent me to losers in in Street Fighter it's like well fuck you've got to be more than solid change you play in Street Fighter uh Nikali okay out of the way old man the like I definitely want to spend the time and get blank up there but right now the hours clocked into Nikali make it a more valuable pet but aren't those hours clocked into Nikali in a considerably older version of the game not that different from Nikali hasn't changed that much okay the biggest change to him was the the change from being a charge character to uh what was the being a motion character to a charge

character right they made that pre-release right yes this is like what you said for the dreaded encounter it's like pick your game you're like I play Street Fighter 5 now but the amount of clocked hours in Street Fighter 4 make it the safer bet yes I could do better in that it's just it's just math you're certain things like hey like Matt if you had to be challenged to some sort of acting singing or drawing competition yeah which would you choose Sailor Moon you know um so yeah that that's that's I gotta look at tournament footage that's Sailor Moon fucking anime Evo side turning Sailor Moon is fucking back and legit and deserves all the praise and love it's getting that's all I'm gonna say about that um the so yeah there was that there's a very nice dinner

jammers because he got top 32 and then eventually I don't know what pace he finished at but he was it was pretty sick getting that far because he's like I'm like dude like I'm like if I don't hear you popping off I'll assume you've lost you know and he's like he's like this is the one thing that this is the one thing I'm good at that's real this is the one thing that's real I'm gonna assume you didn't do well if I hear popping down um and uh yeah and and uh got some other uh cool stuff shoutouts to the the awesome people over at the arxist booth because I wanted to go get an arxist hat and there was none left why was there a western theme why was there cowboys everywhere well because I guess it's I mean they all but they always wear the like the Japanese traditional

like um they do but they're on like a saloon yeah so I guess I guess they wanted the mixture of both I don't know Johnny who knows yeah but but the yeah yeah but like either way I was like I want to get one of the marxists hats and like they're all gone and they like the producer guy was just like yeah you can have mine and I was like ah that's crazy you were right about uh kill a kill where it looks like it's mode seven so got back in line played my hero academia um my hero academia is uh very much plays and feels like a Naruto like a Naruto game uh then played kill a kill also plays and feels like a Naruto game so both of these games arena fighters there's a thing to it right you're gonna have is Naruto yeah you're gonna have your two attack buttons you're gonna

have a jump button you're gonna have probably a dash of some kind uh like a lock-on dash then let's say a block and a dodge and a super button and something like that so really similar games in comparison to each other but uh they kind of offer different things so uh in in uh my hero's case I guess I'll start there and say that like yeah my hero academia I mean it was it was fun I didn't but I there was no explanation of the controls beforehand and stuff so I kind of just had to wing it um I didn't get to fully get grasped the the the system of like what counters what and so on but I know that there's like ways to do unblockables which you can I guess break somehow or throw but one thing that that was fun to that happened casually not knowing how to play

was like the way you would do combos that would smash someone into a wall and then the fight would transition onto the wall sideways and now you're fighting sideways in the stage just like Naruto um that doesn't happen in in Ultimate Ninja Storm no but it happens in Naruto because oh that check yeah okay well okay well let me clarify and say when I say like Naruto I literally mean like Ultimate Ninja Storm now man I'm talking about Naruto no no no no um this has to be like this thing because these games are all doing the same genre of arena fighter that that covers that ground and so this this offers that unique thing of like fighting sideways and then upside down or whatever the fuck is going on right um sure Naruto doesn't have that feature Ultimate

Ninja Storm if it does then it's not in the it's not in the ones I played which is two so maybe it comes up to like five maybe it comes in the later games but uh if it has I haven't gotten there yet so I'm talking based on the Ultimate Ninja Storm two that I played so um what happens then uh is you have your team of two assists as well which is again also very much like Ultimate Ninja Storm and oh it's it's in all of them okay well then the story mode for Ultimate Ninja Storm two that I fought so far that you can go watch on Woolly versus there's no fight sideways on anything that happened yet so maybe you just don't like fighting sideways on the building maybe I haven't seen it yet I don't know it has maybe when it says hey fight on this building on the side you're like no no

ground that's good that's good I like this this it hasn't occurred yet I'm sorry I like it's comfortable here I hope I hope to see that soon but it has not yet occurred you can watch the LP anyway excuse me just one second yeah so that happens and uh you have the two v two you have the the two assists and whatnot I picked um all might and then like you know as you and the kids and then the second one I went in for stain and yeah man like they look they look it looks good the cell shitting looks tight things look fun the game is notably slower than like some of those arena fighters it there's a lot more floatiness to it I don't know if you kind of watched I watched them footage by an employee yeah there's the feeling of like when you when you're zooming up to someone

it feels like a really slow float dash up to them as opposed to like a bam you know it kind of looked like it um but it it felt but it still felt all right you're just but you just definitely know that like um this is the kind of it's a simplistic sort of game you know there's not going to be a ton of depth to it and uh it looks like that character select screen is huge which is good that's because this is the type of game that like fucking needs that full roster in it right away because the game is not coming out just as my hero just started like we're like in three seasons in now so it would be so disappointing if it stopped at no move and all might Naruto Gamecube games have that problem where like they got so far ahead in the anime and like you're getting like 12 characters

and you're like Jesus Christ so it was on a delay when it was back coming when it was coming when there was coming out as Gekito Ninja Taisen it was on a delay right when they translated that to clash of ninja and like that was like I want to say a year later or so I think it had loads of characters we were so further ahead but we were playing a game where like the final boss was what like Orochimaru yeah you know what I mean like it pretty much was like okay so we had just gotten past like the Zabuza fight it's like wrestling games man and got introduced to this villain and then they were about to go do their Chunin exams and that's the end of you know what I mean yeah the first game and that had like the most basic roster like why did you even bother you

should have waited to like get some guys in there like Rock Lee was the big outsider pick you know it was it was kind of crazy um and then uh like later was like up Chunin exams and then later's you know the rest CLC wasn't a thing yet so it's like at least for my hero like you can just add lots of guys so yeah so just going to that's let that's select screen and seeing stain right away and Todoroki right away and then um uh what's what you call it the the you know the freaky girl with the with the like crazy like sms like vibe no you wouldn't know sorry um you need to give me more do you mean the villain girl the villain girl oh the fucking blood bitch what's her name and then the schoolgirl and then the guy with the fucking zombie face oh uh it's

Zavi yeah so they're right there too and you're like that's her name so they're right there too and you're like nice right to that's past the end of the third season way way way out there yeah so that so the game's coming out with lots of um lots of lots of spaces for of the full class you by the way if you are you up to date in uh uh academia probably like two okay because like the fighting game that happens after this one there is a massive cast explosion and i don't like to the point where i can see it being tough for the game well yeah if you add like villains no i mean there are like a hundred students added in like one episode oh well um what i would crazy i feel like looking at that cast like that select screen i'm pretty confident we're

going to be looking at like um we're probably going to be looking at the full class right i i'd be surprised if the full class didn't get what about minnetta that is he part of the class yeah then why would he's also the huge fucking loser yeah but his sticky style thing would make sense for a video game yeah any characters that like stopping you from moving throwing balls at you and shit like they'd figure it out okay well anyway um i imagine the full class is going to be there if that can ask for 20 characters to get removed from smash i can ask for minnetta to get kicked out the real i feel like the question is going to be who are the 25 thank you the question the real question is me are we going to get like one or two class b characters and then how many

villains you know if they were gonna do like beyond that with class b they would actually go for the other schools that were just introduced oh well then i don't but maybe but like that's so much later yeah but well not not as much later as you would think if people like staying are there no what i mean is for like i mean alongside the development of this video game yeah right so um yeah hopefully you know we'll see what's up but the the it would be it would make sense to fill in the gaps of the stuff the people they've met up until now like i feel like you know there you have your fucking class b's you've got your your villain kids and then you've got your um the teacher crew cat people and whatever you know what i mean like there's a bunch of weirdos

bunch of weirdos that get thrown in there there's a whole bunch of randos that you can go pick from now on so this guy's great ah so that's there kill the kill is also like narrative ultimate what but it has something weird going on where it's deliberately doing uh like yeah like the the way the trailer's looked and when you see it in person it's especially weird there's moments where it looks like sprites instead of 3d because as the camera's smoothly rotating around the stage the sprites are going like angle angle angle angle angle if that makes sense they're not smoothly rotating around so you described it as like it looks like mode seven some mode seven moments happen right imagine if you had a mode seventh row 3d rotation but then the sprite has to

occasionally update to look like it's at a 45 degree now 90 now another 45 now another four you know what i mean that's cool man so it has that effect to it and like it works in some cases and it looks like the anime is what they're kind of going for but a lot of the times it kind of just ends up feeling odd i don't know it's definitely a stylistic choice but it feels like there's missing frames of animation not just because the anime looked like that because the anime did have like every time they henchened up it fucking got smooth and crazy like let's not pretend the whole thing was like um keyframes but the action here definitely looks like it's keyframe to keyframe and a lot of weird moments and i don't know man um personally it is really

early maybe they're just not done putting in the extra little that was my that was my thought when i saw the trailer when i but when i played it looking at it it looks a lot more deliberate okay um the clash argument system is a fun little thing of course it's it really is just rock paper scissors but it's like taunt provoke and um just dead are those actually different options well it's what when you hit the clash you can either taunt provoke or like um um i think it's like insult or something i think you take an insult yeah it's like give me your back no it's it's like i like stand your your fucking you know like your ground like a state your your whatever it's forgot what the third one is yeah but you so you have this this trifecta of like you know

ways to trash talk and like depending on whether you win or not you get a buff out of it and stuff and the whole the whole sequence is done in the same way where one person's upside down and yelling back like no you don't know about your you don't know shit like it's everything we talked about and then so that was pretty fun um but yeah i i feel like that the chosen aesthetic for this game is probably gonna make people feel kind of weird about it because it looks almost like like yeah the effect is is a stylistic thing that looks weirdly cheap sometimes you know it's probably because it is cheap i mean that does sum up kill a kill i guess i guess um taking a look here yeah we should definitely take a quick word from our sponsors before continuing

that game works but it's got playstation all-stars mechanics oh you don't kill anybody until you land a super on them um fortunately super meter is generous and i'm sure fast and the and the super meter is like one the super input is like pressing a button yeah so this game is casual as fuck it is pure wax shenanigans your special moves are one button yeah and you can just spam them but they have a gauge yeah it's a run out it's it's it's actually yeah it's a it's a shift to like a smash layout of like normals on one button specials on another until it's modified you know um and then you do a little auto combo and then you can tack a super on at the end if you want and you've got like a dodge and a roll you got a block button and then you can use it you can

then you can roll with it and stuff and um very different testing case yeah very very much so it in the end though like um like i will say that the the those costumes are just like it's not just terry like across the board holy shit like leaning into the cheesecake as hard as you can what do you mean what do you mean a lot of them i feel look shitty and tacky a lot of them are shitty and tacky and uh they're shitty and tacky and the characters themselves know it so they're all shy and annoyed at what they're wearing because they're in uh kukri's dream or whatever it is right whatever like everything that could contextualize they're in they're in a they're in a fake dream world so they're being made to where these fan servicey things and they hate it so everyone's

face is like oh that's that's my favorite thing when they wear the fan service but they hate it but they hate it so everyone's blushing going what is this bullshit this is a my doesn't like being dressed as a cow however cowbell around her neck however i wouldn't either leona's third costume is basically her as heidern and it's awesome because she's got the heidern jacket on her shoulders and she's got and she's got the eye patch and the fucking hat and she just looks like serious business and um what's that doing in there i don't know but it's like the leona i would like to see happen if you could fast forward you know i think all the girls should have a costume like that that's like a reference to whatever character is related to them it would be nice

other side of things yeah combat core of course was in there straight up with the like there's some good there's some fun stuff coming to combat core man oh like yeah that's it's coming out to switch to fairly yes it is before the end of the year switchport is in the works for that with new characters as well pay played punch planet new character try the new character new character in punch planet big grappler man grappler ghost rider um was really pretty uh like he reminded me of like that but also like a toxic crusader a little bit yeah you know a big green alien guy got that vibe um point 2.0 and uh mighty fight federation which was actually like the other power stone esk arena fighter that uh it was being worked on by the same uh gentleman who did the music in in

way of the pacifist i'm finding out that like a lot of that toronto game dev community is just very small world you know so like some people that were involved with that are involved with this and people that are working on stuff this or over there and so because because my way of the pacifist popped up out of um ontario and uh this is being worked on as well between in the to considering the to is like a fucking country now yeah and uh there's a game that had some some it had some fun has a lot of mechanics ideas in it yeah and things like that um definitely way early out and has a lot to go but uh i got a little walkthrough of how things work and i want to see it in a finished state and then see how things shape up for that they have a character that's just straight up the

party god from um adventure time it's the wolf it's just this wolf with a backwards hat and he's good i like that's that's that's the only character i spent time playing like yeah there's i think there's two there's three yeah three all right um this is named the guardie pod i mean no it's like it's like it's like wolf ralph no it's like wolf's bane or something like that or or yeah it's like a name like that but um and he's a grappler and uh he can fucking combo into power bombs that pop you back up to more shit so you know some interesting stuff going on um there was a game called bounty battle which was basically just indie indie steam stark so 2d dark souls start smash brothers fighter because bounty battle shut up like is like you go through the top row and

you're like oh here's a bunch of these like sword fight people yay um the character select screen for this game then you then you just scroll down a row and you're like oh look it's god let me fucking try to find the roster for this because it's it's it's crazy how many characters are in this thing um so i'm gonna try and pull this up here bounty battle has you're like hey it's the night from darkest dungeon it's dead cells oh this yeah it's uh it's flint hook it's alboy it's guacamole it's uh huan from guacamole how are they getting all these it's death scambit it will i mean obviously they're going for the that's that's the what do you mean how they're asking okay um it's uh um a ter it's johton it's uh uh enter the gungeon um no no wait not gungeon not gungeon what's the

other one that's like gungeon um the fish nuclear throne nuclear throne thank you uh like so many uh which is weird because another indie fighting game which is the pogo one where everyone's on pogo yeah but that you but that I shoveled and yeah you gotta you kept going like is it that pogo game like no it's not the pogo game man i never heard of this before because this is an actual like it's an actual smash like that's weird and um yeah like just the the the the the roster just kept growing and i was like holy crap yeah awesome knots is in there let me see if i can get the full list because it was non stop they have the dungeon from darkest dungeon in there that's like that's that's a stage totally no i mean i'm at the character um oh there's that's from yeah battle chasers

battle chasers is in there as well like all like really it it kept going um and and like uh including stuff that i'm forgetting because of how many it was it was it was a really really like okay cool you got a huge cast here art style is really fun as well it's like a nice like um there's a cool like lit like lit sprites you know like everyone kind of fits in because it kind of looks like guacamole like the like the art style just generally fits every character it does it does and um yeah it was all right i again i didn't really there was no one there at the booth to really like walk walk us through it and kind of get the full breakdown of how things worked but um i walked away being like yeah bounty battle i'm gonna take a picture of that that looks like it'll be some good

important and and it's so it feels like a guest that has had a place at the table set for him and which means that all guests have been there all along and geese you know you're like representing the world you're coming from but he acknowledges the michima's and he's like oh he actually machima you're nothing can also but with geese howard when he sees akuma he's like but like but it's also like it's like while akuma and michima and fucking hey hatchy we're staring at each other if the camera panned over a little bit geese would have been the other one there or bison no you know what i mean like so so um and then negan negan and then noctis negan and then noctis shows up and you're like okay whoa it's all up in the air now right

one of the goofy little things in yeah the fight is you get a jump emote from the event if you jump when the ecliptic meteor drops and the huge ground explosion if you're off screen in the air it doesn't hit you because in final fantasy when your dragoons off screen they don't exist so you have to use an emote to avoid an attack you can there's you can also hide behind a but they gave you an emote for that purpose a character straight up tells you this will help you in the upcoming wow right that's a cross promotion that's nuts yeah down to the mechanical level ins and outs details nuts and bolts there's a tail carve in the fucking final fantasy fight today you focus you focus on the fucking tail you break the tail off it screws up the

show where he's like i'm gonna do it and someone goes oh we're gonna kill you like we're just being that hot blight then being that fucking fire red-haired character you know what i mean is going to just get you off there's nothing else to it and then as the story goes on you start to see that and then the whole parallels with like him racing towards a fucking cliff side yeah in the intro right and it's like just and you're like straight up like his it always cuts back to the imagery of him about to fucking drive off the edge because it's like the way you live will determine your death stop absolutely and you're and like these two things like living fast heart loving and dying young always go hand in hand because you're just like this is what you're about there's nothing more

happily wedded and like actually in love gonna get married happy and on the wedding day nina shows up in a wedding dress and assassinates the fuck out of she steals her wedding dress and assassinates the fuck out of her husband and so anna's like i'm a fucking kill you yeah but why is nina wearing the the wedding dress because she's the assassin that's the stolen wedding dress oh stolen what don't fail down walk off she she she she she pretended to be anna yeah and then killed him uh yeah he disarmed out at that point um the season two trailer also revealed some wacky shit that looks like wall bounces are getting added to the game so it's a crazy mechanical thing to add so that's new um by the way do you guys know about what leech how long's new storyline is

of ending it up yeah and the coolest thing about uh also he's got a full-on spirit bomb and the spirit bomb is super slow and it does like 60 percent of your health if it hits you and there's only one way to combo into it it seems uh so far is by hitting them with like this kind of like level charged up stun mini spirit bomb thing but anyway like the point is is you can do a fucking crazy ass i'm doing the slow thing up here and you can try to stop me and see what happens but like i saw a video of someone trying to teleport behind and it was too big and they just got they just ate it so yeah there's there's gonna be like uh you gotta find something else out to beat the spirit bomb because it's a fucking spirit bomb um and then

vegeta's coolest thing is that he has a command grab where he grabs you and the and the camera zooms in and puts it in the exact same place that it does in the manga when he grabs napa and goes like you're worthless and tosses you up into the air and you can follow it up the lamest looking move ever you can follow it up with a ton of different things you can go up there you can air combo you can follow it up with whatever but if you follow it up with the level three he does the exact kill he does on napa where he just charges and shoots the beam up without any effort and dragon ball starts after the sands sure so uh that's that's what's happening there and hey cooler cooler is cooler he's cool

blueberry that's the worst that's the worst and she would do that with a lot of food too um yeah i guess like mine or yeah because i'm like i could think of two other things that are like hacky in the sense that it's just like i it's a weird thing that has a practical purpose to it sure there's two like two that two others that come to mind since like that's the same thing is uh one cupcakes all right i've shown you guys this before the the top yeah you take a cupcake cupcakes a delicious mess on top and you just take the bottom of the cupcake put it on the break it off from the muffin from the cupcake top and sandwich it and now you got something easy to hold yeah i think that's an abomination but there's at least a purpose there's something

you got now you got something to hold right and then the second one and this one took a while to figure out but it fucking like it took you a while to figure out like there was so many instances of this not working that i just got frustrated by it back in the day when my mom would make lasagna right um you would take it out of the oven and it would be awesome when it was fresh absolutely and you cut the perfect slice and you get some delicious lasagna cuts easy because the consistency is all there yeah the moment you fridge that shit up and reheat it it becomes a mess yeah reheated lasagna fucking sucks so what you have to do because it's only when you reheat right but when you first pull it out of the fridge it's still cold so it still

has its body but but then when you reheat it you go to cut it and then it just splats out everywhere cut it up while it's cold so you take your serving cut the cold serving into the pieces you're gonna bite then heat that up this doesn't sound weird at all this sounds like a way to prepare food but it's just no one no one does you don't do the pre cuts because you don't think about your bites before i like the fucked up lasagna from the left oh yeah i know i don't want that fucking mess man that's my favorite i do know so in my house do you know how we make lasagna they make the lasagna then we fridge it then we reheat it oh fuck and that's how it's i hate that that's horrible the consistency is 1000% the best when it comes out but the next
