the fucking death thing that's gonna happen or the asteroid or whatever the fuck and like it's a whole thing but it's like but then we fast forward years into the future and his sacrifice becomes corrupted and people start worshiping him like a god and then desmond's words get turned against society and then they start hurting each other again and then it all creates because the cycle humanity is futile reminds me of like uh big boss died and then everyone was like no he meant this just like how it was the exact same thing with the boss exactly so then away exactly so they paint up this whole ending and then they go no it's so weird they like they go this is what would or could have happened this is america but you know what it feels like it feels like this was

have a bottle ready um damn i saw health fest which is a new slasher movie i've been seeing trailers of that what is it i've been seeing a lot of cool posters basically it's a slasher movie that says from the producer of the walking dead one wow one gail and herd who used to be married to james cameron who produced the terminator aliens all right that's but then but then fell off a cliff and started producing garbage okay okay and i was still like oh cool but i'll go see this and it's uh it's and got a neat premise where it's a bunch of teens that go to a halloween hunt that's like a big uh almost larone style like it took over for the month halloween six flags for these so six flags yeah um and it's it's what if there's a killer on the loose that's dressed up

how you gonna find that motherfucker because every single person that's hired by this company is dressed up to scare you so they'll be like that guy stalking me security guard and there's like what he do he scared me uh huh so is everyone in the park right what did he do he's stalking me they are paid to stalk you so it's like you're kind of helpless in this situation and it's a guy that's wearing a hoodie and has a creepy mask and that's it um and it's a stab you he'll he'll kill you with whatever is around you'll just kill you got it um and it's a pretty vanilla sort of thing it's not particularly well written doesn't really have any good characters you just kind of want to see them die um but it and it has absolutely no motivation at all for the killer which up until

a certain point i was like that's kind of disappointing because there's nothing else going on there's no lore but i won't say exactly what but they have like an end scene where i'm like that's actually really creepy and scary the fact that he has absolutely no motivation and no lore they do a thing where i'm like that's pretty cool reminds me of the strangers i didn't see it but i remember hearing about it absolutely no motivation for those they're just like they're three people it's like we just want to kill you in your house because it'll be fun yeah it reminds me of a there was a netflix movie that i saw i forget the name but it was just so disappointing but it was because i might have seen it it okay so there was a mother and her son uh the dad dies and they're like what

one other movie that's similar in vain to that uh the cell uh um um cloud atlas is what i want to say okay where it combines all three of these diving into the mind diving into the mind it's 10 episodes it was very very very good um it it presented a really unique future world where technology is shitty but everything's kind of modern everyone speaks like it's just you know 2000 era new york city everyone's clothes are the same but all the all the technology uh computers tv's they're like alien one where it's just big beeping things it's like that retro technology in outfitted today one of my favorite little world building things is i have no money but i'm really hungry i have nothing in my bank account right now i'm going to use ad buddy so you go

up to like a bagel store can you use ad buddy and they're like fine use ad buddy they give you the food for free then for the next two hours a person follows you and reads you ads wow until your time is done until it's done holy shit so at a moment someone's like i need to go to utah could i use you and she's like you're gonna have to listen to thousands of hours of ads but i'll go with you to utah oh wow okay and that's just one little world building thing it's really really interesting it's like jonah hill please nightmarish that's fucking crazy that's that's yeah and then some people some places like we do not accept ad buddy yeah please shut the fuck up yeah you can rent friends i have no one to talk to you can do that now you can yeah but it's like a service um it's very very

hack people for you okay and so there's a lot of that stuff in there it takes a long time to set up this world with all these little details but once it got going is really interesting it's also a really good vehicle for Jonah Hill because he plays the least Jonah Hill person his main sounds sounds like he's very wispy he's very quiet but when they delve that just sounds like regular Jonah Hill yeah but when acting like then when they go into other like forms inside your mind and other realities inside your mind he gets to Jonah Hill it up he plays a snoop dog style white kid so he's got the braids and everything cornrows like yeah the cornrows and then go into like the via 2006 okay anyway uh yeah highly recommend it um aside from that didn't name again

yes and awesome uh yeah yeah yeah messengers again a lot longer than i thought it would be um does a lot of things that i didn't expect and i there's a genre shift that's very welcome that's very fun um yeah we tried to dance around every time we've talked about it but yeah but but the game the game has lots of like okay well it's not even like a twist or anything it's more like you've done this now let's do that you know it kind of shifts things up on you which is pretty fun uh yeah overall really great um the it's interesting because like the final bosses are very easy but like some of the final challenges are very hard so like the platforming gets more difficult than the actual bosses i kind of found so too yeah um and uh the final form of your

character feels like it you don't have a ton of stuff you can do but what you do have like can be used in tons of ways you know so it's like few tools lots of applications uh so it's definitely recommended yeah it's not easily easy um 15 easy 15 plus hours you know yeah i'd say so going through a game that looks like it should be two hours long yeah right and uh i will say um despite enjoying bits and pieces of it like i will i say like some of the my downsides are the like the goods the pluses and the minuses are both the writing right yeah you were kind of saying this last time you're like not every joke in not every joke hits and sometimes they commit hard to the jokes right um including an overall tone of like the fourth wall doesn't matter oh memery

right and you're pretty much playing not memery just the fourth wall doesn't matter and everyone is going like what that looks like it would be a week like you thought there'd be an ending without a twist you know or and like people kind of talking at the player in these ways and sometimes it's kind of like all right and sometimes it's not um and when they and sometimes in moment and and the weird part is that like it'll do those things while still trying to be serious and it's like well you have to kind of pick one right there's moments where you're like your tone is now confused because this is supposed to be like a moment you're treating seriously but you're still cracking jokes with it and i guess you want it to be light but then why would you

treat it in this serious way you know it's a little bit of a shovel nights funny and jokey but also serious it is but it kind of balances it a little better and yeah shovel night never shovel shovel night has a really yeah the the the the stretch of serious to funny is like very it's like a low stretch you know like the comedy of um the triple king and the fun stuff with that and then the seriousness of like trying to save her like i'd say almost the messenger script is like almost trying to be straight up a comedy so it like almost everyone's trying to say something funny or be funny yeah if there was a slider and like one side is funny what the other side is serious or and or i guess it's not serious but like meaningful i should say uh i feel like uh

shovel night will bounce back and forth between a six point five and a four point five and the messenger will slide back and forth between a two and an eight okay you know all right um and the other thing i'll say that doesn't work out so great is uh there's a final like plot like uh drop that happens where the way the story in this game is told is like trickle trick um um sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle drop and then drop yeah sprinkle sprinkle and then nothing and then absolutely nothing and then the last five minutes of the game cutscene which is like kind of a full drop back crazy fucking everything like sort of like a pacing issue about how you're doing yes yes instead of dropping it in one big cutscene

explanation moment the world should have spent instead of taking take some of those jokes and turn some of that into building up that backstory so that it doesn't come out of complete and utter left field when you get to the final sequence of the game yeah i know that's fair not to say that the platforming wasn't fun or the boss fights weren't fun because like i have like no real complaints on the actual like gameplay per se no no it's tight it's tight i have a question i loaded the game up and played it for about 10 minutes and i need to know if this is gonna change or if i should just refund it right off the bat do not refund it right off the bat okay well here let me let me finish okay i went to the tutorial where they teach me how to cloud jump i think it's

called yeah you slash that something and then you jump i can't stand the feel of that at all i hate the way it feels i think that is like like it bad feel that's how important is that that sucks because that's everything that's yeah okay mastering cloud step is every it's not about mastering it is i just don't think it i just don't enjoy the mechanics here's a thought because something i was struggling with right was the difference between um there's a moment where you get there's a moment where you get the um a glide ability right and uh you have to switch between two forms of like air control sometimes you want to jump and some then and and influence it like that or sometimes you want to switch to the glide like ninja glide right and you need to do that

so that that helps you cloud step more efficiently because you slow yourself down slash what you need to and get your jump back yeah what cloud stepping is in the game is uh any time you uh attack anything in the air in the air you get a double jump and so if you hit something infinitely you'll jump forever and there are segments of the game that you have to platform that have no floor where you have to cloud step and slash the objects to get yourself over to the next can you ever aim down yes okay yeah yes so like so the the hovering ability gives you the ability to sleep when you're hovering and you slash you slash directly belief you because my problem is that i just came off hollow knight and bouncing with a

light similar like shovel knife shovel bouncing shovel bounce with your sword is my favorite type of jump ever and coming to this like you know how cuphead has the parry like double jump yeah like i thought it was going to work like that and i like slashing sideways and then this thing just this you get a literal attack that he swipes downward like this your body is in like ninja float mode and your slashes are directly beneath you well and here's the thing when you have that ability and you switch between the two your control is you have way more control than any of the games you mentioned right so aerial control in this because of those two things is massive um you also get one more ability that is a kind of a long range version of it or i mean it's it's a tool

and you can thrust it forward and it can hit anything in the air yeah you gotta you gotta rope dart you get a rope dart that also does you're so i'll give it more of a so there's like there's a lot of components to this you get the way you get to refund your jump in those ways exactly and that swings you with momentum as well uh the the aerial control is a huge part of this game because that's what a lot of the platforming comes down to and uh there's a couple of moments where you have to get used to switching between both modes in the air and that's the that's the most challenging part is like you know because sometimes you'll be like platforming for example one challenge is a number of floating lanterns you got a slash and there's a death pit beneath you

and and the floating lanterns have um like a spiraling like hit enemy that are that's doing circles around it and you have to bounce bounce bounce there's the opening bounce bounce bounce there's the opening you know and um it gives you enough tools but like if they try to do this stuff that he's describing with just the base of cloud step it would be terrible yes feel great but they're smart enough to be like no you need to have more air control than what where you gave you from and you get way more i i should add uh okay i'll definitely go back right and give more shot um well i gotta ask did you ever go back to a hollow night to do path of pain or any of that stuff not yet i'm so fucking fascinated to hear your thoughts on that

challenge because it's so fucked have you played any hollow night yet no okay you get to the end of the game and there's just an optional platforming challenge that rewards you with literally nothing other than the fact that you did it sounds old school and it is people love hollow night and wanted more of it it is fucked it is it is so hard it's so much harder than anything else in the game and it was my favorite time in the whole game like it was my favorite thing that i did and you're allowed to do it again if you beat it it just appears from the map okay uh but yeah so uh the the yeah the aerial control is is really high and and it becomes very fun in some certain parts as well uh but anyway it's i definitely would recommend you know and

and um again the uh the boss fights despite the challenge not being particularly high they're all well designed they're well designed boss fights describe i honestly you talk more about the difficulty of the platforming than the enemies ever i don't think you've ever this i think the first time you ever know because enemies i talked about it where i said one of my early things i didn't like about is that the bosses are well designed they have character and their their sprites are awesome but normal enemies are kind of nothing but you might have already seen them they're like little jellies and like a weird little bug oh it's a bird 90 percent of them because it's going for the ninja guided yes yes thing which always had like poor enemies 90 percent

of the enemies die in one hit but their placement is just annoying and when you leave the screen and turn back around they're there again so that's how they make up for it oh is they respond constantly but ninja guided screens were small in comparison to the size of these screens get a good all wide screen there look there so imagine playing like uh imagine you're playing x1 right and that first highway stretch yeah is a whole area and every time you return to a an enemy off screen it's back right so that on its own becomes a platforming hindrance in enough so the enemies don't need much more elaborate designs than that uh that being said there is one enemy that is like okay you know you have to stop and fight this guy uh and there is a couple of bosses where you're like

yeah like you you gotta you gotta you gotta have a gotta hang blah gotta have a hang of the cloud step and movement and avoiding shit and you know a lot going on um but yeah it's more about the platforming than it is the enemies for sure but great game messenger uh i also uh took a stab i played very very briefly um rigid force alpha what the is that it is that is uh it is it's that schmup that uh you told me about rigid force alpha yeah is this uh it's just like 3d kind of cool looking schmup um it reminds me and the thing is is like it gives me it gives me some vibes of uh that game that play asia funded uh themselves do I extreme titty volleyball no it was a schmup that they funded themselves and they were pushing

for a while but they announced a new girl for that but nobody nobody because it was the same week as bowser I saw that that that tweet that's like when you're new that you're the new do a girl but nobody gives a fuck because you're not bowser um big titted snow princess but yeah so rigid force alpha i'll show you guys a quick thing here we're gonna we're gonna yeah well i thought that was a mummy um so i'm showing i'm showing them i'm pulling up the stream the steam trailer but uh it's a shoot it's a shoot them up you know it's it's gradius uh five style that looks a lot like radius yeah it's gradius five style shoot them up and uh it's very cool like radius have you guys played mother gunship i've i've i've looked into that a lot that's really

neat because you guys were playing on yeah yeah we were playing it on tfs gaming oh my god and other gunships neat yeah it looks super rad i'm looking i'm i'm so does this i'm waiting for star maser to come out and uh i love gradius five and this is a nice like in between but where's star fox oh man this week where's the star fox shoot them up it's amazing they never tried how is not even like a 3ds or ds game no maybe because star fox games are so rare that like people would be mad if you change the genre up they they were they were yes command let's do that instead yeah uh good i get question i don't know what about a star fox game that allows levels that have this or levels that are riding style where it's top uh where's tate where you're going vertically

and then i don't know i don't know but that would be great that would be interesting i'm sure i'm sure the reason why kingdom hearts 3 is taking so long to finish is because they're developing something like this for the gummy ships oh oh boy um and i mean it's it's a whole other style of gameplay that you have to work around bullet hell you know dodging and whatnot but yeah this feels all right it doesn't feel super duper tight um and that's a little unfortunately a lot of that comes from laggy or no no no no it's it's what happens when you go into 3d right where um a bunch of schmo like like i know rezzo gun is like an example of like doing it fucking great but um uh the on the back in the old days with the arcade games you have pixel perfect

like collision and hit detection for bullet dodging and whatnot so and 3d always has a little bit of clunkiness to that i feel uh only a couple games get it right um and this hander i'd hander is not one of those games there you go i'd hander is cool and it has lots of cool things happening okay but it's not one of the games with the tight tight tight just a little tighter you know just um and this is and this is also like a much more like slower paced uh movement and things like that but i do like that when you have slower more lumbering uh movement and you don't have as much precision on those bullet dodges at the very least you have lots of options like options is in ship add-ons and like literal the little thing called yeah and options is in

where you position your shots and whatnot so ultimately um it feels good it feels it feels it feels good to play and uh i'll until i get a little bit more time in i'll decide on what how it turns out in the end but um to me you know like you got your uh ikoruga at the fucking top alongside your radiant silver gun and treasure type schmups where do you put gradius five gradius five is way up there it's way up there um and and and and the gradient style schmups and the ikoruga style schmups again like horizontal and vertical are they're different things they're different things right but um yeah i'll need to get a little bit further into this to see how this one shapes up as well but so far there's potential or that's a rigid force alpha okay i'm

hankering yeah hankering hankering for some Dante's inferno so uh i uh i booted up my pc dmc for se yeah and i did some legendary dark knight Virgil it's fucking absurd isn't it i i beat it and i was very satiated like how much longer does if you remember like per room how much long does it take because of legendary dark night because there are so many more enemies so here's the cool thing about it right so legendary dark knight is uh basically son of sparta difficulty with as many enemies as the computer your computer can spawn right it's like five to ten times in some cases and the room is often sometimes yet nothing but like a mob you can barely see your character uh here's what's fucking sick right so i don't know if you how much time you spent like checking

out i fucked around with it for like two missions okay i never really dove into it Virgil and the differences that he has compared to three the upgrades he gets in four yeah are fucking amazing and it's like it's one of those things where it's like Dante you can go like i prefer three you know like there's i watch some fucking thesis on why Dante doesn't work in four but he compared to why he it works so well in three Virgil in four is objectively better because it takes everything and it just builds on it yeah right so it gives him extra strings where he didn't have any uh and it adds like moves that he didn't have and whatnot it gives you more versatility the summon swords you get more ways to use them and uh this and the reason why lkd mode in dmc

four se works out as as well as it does with Virgil is because you have the concentration meter and what the concentration meter does is the more you don't get touched and the more you build style and the more you don't run the more your concentration goes up and it's and it's basically a bar that fills and as it fills you you hit harder you do better moves and you get the ability to follow up on things and do things you otherwise couldn't do so uh when you when you start spending concentration you can use and you and you devil trigger with Virgil you can do stinger into stinger into stinger that basically like does like massive uh lines of enemies get fucking cleaned in one shot right um and you can also do the final judgment cut yeah where he basically like

teleports out of the screen and just infinite slashes in all dimensions dimension slash yeah and then just fucking comes back in because it's like you played you played perfectly to the point of filling up your concentration you have your double trigger meter this fight doesn't matter anymore this fight has been deleted you played perfectly enough to more or less eliminate that fight and and like that makes it really fun but of course because it's a higher difficulty there is a lot of moments of like well now the enemy is gonna fucking come at you with shit that you otherwise didn't see or um sometimes you fight those black barbed enemies where they like you know you can't come in close because they're swinging at you and stuff it's a fucking

it's just a good time then that special edition really like for those of you who went back to it but like didn't spend the time with it like it just adds so much great stuff and more than doubles the amount of playable characters lady and trish you know are just out there i don't think there is fully featured they're not as fully they're not as i remember going around with lady and i'm like oh this is cool but it's not lady like here's the thing lady is definitely like she's slow projectile based you got to use your big explosions and you have to use her wire grip as well you know but she it lets her she can build style that way trish can fucking style trish is really like interesting because they've kept her moveset consistent from i shit you not dmc too in which

trish's moveset has been established is the daunte dmc one moveset she swings sparta around she throws out the best round trip in the world and her punches are ifrit's punches exactly and she has the extended versions of them um and she gets like she gets like free stuff basically for because she's stuck with hands and feet and uh bare knuckle or i should say because she gets she gets stuck with bare knuckle when you throw out the round trip which the game wants you to do often it means you have to get in closer and dealing with mobs so she gets more tools you know uh it's just a lot of fun to play and like having all the modes for all these characters and switching back and forth and just going you know what i mean like there's just so much there for you so um that was

that was a great trip and i thoroughly thoroughly uh had my thirst quenched so now now you don't need dmc five anymore right because you got your got your fill now fuck that shit i need my double breaker i need my breaker do you think we're looking at these we got a picture of the three boys up on the screen do you think that we'll get an sc of this game that would add a fourth or fifth playable character dlc uh honestly i see yeah sure yeah dlc that adds a campaign for attrition lady maybe and or fourth playable character yes i could think of a fourth playable character you saw they they announced they showed off all the motion capture people and one of them looks exactly like virtual yeah well there you go and it's like oh hey unknown character you see daniel southworth

like putting his facebook's uh fucking profile picture to the to the logo and just saying i'm just happy that this game is out i just fuck off don't read too hard into it guys don't worry about anyway um so yeah that was me and uh you know what though man the i i also realized that like that the pc version in particular though some of those problems suck which ones i have i have a weird thing going on where for some reason the game crashes when i go to pc settings but it lets but it lets me do uh a benchmark uh and i have weird slowdown and tearing moments that i cannot fix because it crashes when i try to modify them and looking at the the troubleshooting sections people went around and started messing with i and i files and that didn't work out for me

so um like that shit sucks i'm i'm happy that at least the benchmark works and i can you know use that but ultimately um i can't tweak the pc version as much as i want to it's that's one of those really unfortunate ones it's like it's probably unique to a combination of your setup or something like that because i certainly didn't run into it but the dmc4 se on pc is a worse port than the original version of dmc4 it runs worse for some reason jesus and uh but nobody noticed because the time difference is so different that most people upgraded their computers still not as bad as the original three no no never um and uh it does have a bunch of bugs where the original version did not at all like some like really aggressive tearing

in moments of and again it's lkd mode right it's legendary dark knight it's filling the screen with shit so it's pushing it to the max tearing is actually your your your refresh your frame rate is much higher than 60 okay and uh the i i would give you woolly how you're not super familiar with pc gaming right i mean i i i don't fuck with he's more than me okay so go home and download a file a sorry a app called the reva tuner statistics server rtss download that install it set it to start with windows go to a little the little bar and turn minimum turn maximum frame rate from zero to 60 okay send me this information and then just and just keep that write that out and that will eliminate tearing nearly every game you ever play okay or getting the

for a movie about a monster that eats people's heads yeah and like they're that's in all of their fucking advertising as well and like they want to push it it's a hard pg 13 and they reference the fact that dark knight is what set the tone and whatnot for no one possible to to to balance that line but it's like that's the dark knight though yeah exactly you chose a violent murderer as your hero yeah look at his face look at how yeah and i and i put a super crown on it and i think the moment they're like there were there were there are lots of females yeah when i think of pushing the line with dark knight i i think of the pens moment right as like a particular example but um seriously thing though the director seems to be answering a different question from

what he's tom hardy saying though because uh yeah he basically says there's no special cut that got ruined or whatever but what tom hardy says is that still regardless it's not about the darkness of it he's just saying there's 30 to 40 minutes of worth of scenes that aren't in this um okay there's mad puppeteering scenes dark comedy scenes you know what i mean they just never made it in and that doesn't necessarily imply that there's violent scenes that got cut or toned down there's just stuff that he likes doesn't even imply that the scenes were even shot it all the just that they existed in some form yeah either in the script or right because it doesn't necessarily mean they were shot just that they were in script they never made it in so tom hardy's weird where

when he wrapped mad max he go he went what a piece of shit i regret doing this forever then saw the movie and apologized to the director going i thought you were crazy i guess it's one of those moments would work it's one of those moments of like seeing the the film in action and being like oh i'm at like having your own self doubts but when you see like the person's vision actually on there then yeah i can see how he'd want to but like i don't know even tom has said like he's a huge venom fan as well yeah to hear all this stuff and like to be like unfortunately the stuff that he was excited about that was in there to be gone is a little sad this is i i want this movie to be good or decent like i'm happy with anything i also want it to be like horrifically

so the cat so what he was sold on was just not what his favorite 30 to 40 minutes exactly you know and so i'm like is this just like oh man i just if it were if it if it mad maxes and it turns out to be great then that's cool i'll apologize later but for now augeez oh no i still can't believe they're doing it might be a train wreck pg-13 that'd be as ridiculous as a pg-13 punisher movie or a pg-13 deadpool 2 getting released later on i wanted to talk about that because that's amazing that's real by the way what you don't know about this no in december they're re-releasing deadpool 2 pg-13 version they're gonna have to really cut no no listen listen listen it's coming out the same day as aquaman because fox is gonna stop getting money from these things because disney

so like let's get this under the wire quickly let's make some money so the whole idea is there's tons of kids that love deadpool but we're not allowed to go see deadpool cut out everything that we can possibly can to get under pg-13 and release it now before we stop making money on this fucking character because the because the are the r-rating to a lot of producers is a fucking death sentence despite the fact that deadpool one made tons of money with a big cat it's a death sentence you know the funniest bit in the entire movie is now unwatchable in this cut of the movie i don't know how they would even do it but i mean also i guess you got it when i was flying in here i was i was peeping over and someone was watching deadpool 2 on the plane and if you're able to

watch deadpool 2 on a plane then i think maybe it is possible to make a 13 but um at least swearing is often cut out of um but wouldn't like like really violent as well i i assume so too but i've seen airplane versions of movies where they're like they cut out every bit of swearing i just don't like there's so much fucking ultra violence in that movie i have no idea how they're actually gonna cut it because there's a handful of loose change left on the table why would you leave that money on the table that's enough for bus fare man why would you not collect that money on the table no but i'm just thinking of like the actual like required cg effort to remove the like blood spray and the times you can see through people's torsos blood spray shows up blood spray is fine right

get commander shepherd who's a dick to everyone and uh the game will try to let that play out to the to the detriment of the story with donut specifically and a few other devs the characters prescribed a person or is prescribed a personality and will always return to it and might even say they regret the choices you do this stops life is strange from being a story about max the sociopath but limits agency especially when the game restricts a reasonable choice i think there's pros and cons to each but i wanted to know what you guys prefer and why from akuta bar uh garalt is a really good example in which are three in that so you're given like five different choices they are not within the range of potential human options they're within the range of things you could ever believe

garalt would actually do in this situation like there are extraordinarily few circumstances in which there is an option to just kill person because garalt is not a psychopath now when he runs there's a part in the middle of the game where he walks into a a fucking murder festival in which you know the fucking serial murder type of guy with like legs hanging from the ceiling then you get an option to kill that guy but no otherwise and so that they they try and frame like a little bubble around the character so that you can still have your agency but it it will never you'll never have like what i would call the nico bellic problem in which nico seems like a pretty nice guy unless you fucking go on a shooting spree between every mission

so personally i mean i think telltale had the right idea early on when they had a dialogue sure choices that are one thing and then hard a or b choices that are meant to represent important choices that matter more but obviously after a while you realize the formula and then you see that the choices don't matter and so on and so forth right to me personally ideal world would be every choice matters and yes you play up the decision you make even if it strays off of the path of the character that you wanted but hopefully the game would allow for flexibility in the type of character you play right and um i would also say that to make that work and to make sure that you don't sometimes pick options you don't want you don't get a glass of moment yeah have don't

just have a single word conveying the idea of the line literally have the have the entire line as if i were playing a point and click game right point and click games literally read out what you're going to say next and have them all there and don't time my choice well you know are you familiar with give me follow up for does it because it'll say sarcastic uh-huh and you'll click on it and he'll like threaten to kill someone yeah like no no yeah that the up the obfuscation for the sake of a smooth uh conversation mass effect wanted you to have no downtime moments mass effect does it pretty well it had early one it lets you pick out the word and then the person by the time they're finished talking to you you say the next thing so it feels normal right but the problem again with

telltale and all these other things is that that that feeling is at sacrifice of you understanding the choice you're making so absolutely give me perfect information where i see the full line i'm going to say and then commit to those lines as this is how the player character genuinely feels and not just oh no i'm sorry i said that that was too many i pull it back one i can think of is uh when in a fucking beyond there's you're arguing with uh the fucking whatever cia bitch whatever his name is the the the the jack ryan looking yeah and one of the options jody can pick when yelling at him is trust and like is that i'll never trust you is that i will trust you always is that should i talk about trust it's a single fucking word yeah yeah how the fuck am i supposed

to know what that means yeah when you rubber band your character it allows you to tell a more consistent character for your story purpose but it also removes the illusion of this being a video game yeah you know so like allow for flexibility don't rubber band it too hard and like let let choices matter in a game that me and woolly took a look at the council it does some neat things where it actually lets you pick a class about how your character thinks whether he's like into science whether what i don't know if that colored his dialogue i doubt it did colored his gameplay options it did have was when you meet characters a profile is given to you once you meet them and say this person is weak to logic this person is weak to this but they're strong in this so

it's going to be hard to talk them out of that particular course of action and it was like a three it was like a rock paper scissors almost system i think there was three things so that character is always going to react to this and that's a knowable thing whereas like in a telltale or a donut game yeah that person's quick to anger but they'll suddenly change depending if the story needs them to change for whatever reason George Washington is pretty good at politics yeah that was the example that uh the gym used in his video as well yeah you're not going to out politics so go for what he doesn't know yeah yeah science or teeth yeah put put that in like not every game can do this because that's a more elaborate system than some of these narrative

games can afford to do but that game started out with it the problem as well as the other the other thing that this question uh should have to take into account is the budget you know yeah can you allow actual branching paths at and would that be at the detriment of your story if so then we're looking at a problem you know like creating content that the view that the viewer will never see but the joker in the batman telltale games is a great example of like this is a direct result of your choices you built this man yeah basically there's an issue with branching it off I think the biggest branch I can ever think of in any game is which or two in which your act one decision determines the next 15 hours being in wildly

different locations a completely different game like whether or not you're on this side of the wall or the other side of the wall every part of that second act is unique the problem is that one of those acts is much better than the other considerably and it leads into an end game in which you know more about what's actually going on with the plot and that sucks and that I bet that sucks for the developers because they're like oh 50 percent of people aren't going to see the really good stuff that we put in why did we hide this yeah now that we're getting more don't not games out like I hope there's no flaw that like becomes a repeating problem in the same way that the telltale issue came out I mean yes it's hard to say at this juncture but you're one
